We got a lot to get to. No PGA Tour golf this week, but we do have Billy Horschel wanting a playoff of a Rory and Tristan Lawrence at the BMW PGA.

Lydia Ko shot a final round 63 to win the Kroger. Ripper GC wins the team championship. Frankie Sappen won the nationwide in Columbus. We're going to the BMW PGA first for a quick what's in the bag highlights for your BMW PGA champion, Billy Horschel golf ball. He has the Pro V1 X model. He loves a ball with higher launch and spin, especially into firm tour greens. He's able to flight it lower when the shot calls for it.

Use that spin actually, if I may say to almost hole out to win in regulation with the wedge into the 72nd hole driver he has the new GT three nine degree, you put the new model and play immediately this summer after seeing more speed with incredibly consistent spin rates across the face helped him tighten his front to back dispersion and increased distance on miss hits. Like most titles players on tour Billy plays a blended set of irons. His three and five irons are T 100s. His six through nine or six 20 MB blades. There's

no four iron. I had to double check the copy there. That's correct. He does not have a four iron. He finds the three iron setup gaps better with his fairways. It's also got four SM 10 wedges. That is sick. Four SM 10 wedges, including a 60 v grind, which title is launched this week on wedge works like all title is tour players. I didn't know you could have a, you're not, I thought you're committed to the T grind. I am T grind grinds sick. OK, I need to. You don't need to do. I need to mess around more with bounce more bounce in the summer. I've learned that lesson. I'm trying. I'm trying to hit off wet Bermuda in the summer with four degrees of bounce.

And I've been struggling all summer. And it's like, yeah, dude, like switch. You need to switch up depending on the conditions. That's what they told me. And I just have all you should just not play in the summer. That's actually been also what I've been doing. We got two rounds in the last month. Little play by play of the BMW PGA.

It was exciting. It was good viewing. A lot of weather rolled in through Wentworth this past week. They had some teas moved up. They had lift cleaning placed in the fairway. There was mud everywhere, a lot of moisture. Rory McIlroy made an eagle on the 17th hole today, hit a three-wood on the green from 282,

rolled in a long putt to tie the lead, had 252 into 18. I'm not really sure what happened off the tee there. I know he pulled his tee shot just a little bit, but tried to rope hook a two iron in there. It was a very bad shot. Short end left of the water was unable to get up and down. He called it aggressive lay. Yeah. It was a wonderful layup to the, the only sp it was extremely lucky to be dry.

Matteo Manocero was in the final group with Billy Horschel and Rory. He faded on Sunday, but continues to have an incredible bounce back year. I'd had a great week as well. Tristan Lawrence shot 65 got in the house at 12, at 20 under par. We got a three way playoff because Billy Horschel birdied 18 after laying up almost hold his wedge shot with a ton of backspin there on the on the 70 second hole. It was great. It was just good, good viewing. They go into the playoff Roy cut the corner with three wood,

but both he and Billy made up and down birdies. Tristan Lawrence played the whole very suspect way, drove it into the right mud and tried to hit a fairway, went off the mud, topped it into a bunker, hit the bunker shot to the water, he was out. And as, you want to take us through the controversy here with Billy's bunker shot, his third shot on the playoff TC? Yeah, I just, I thought it was, it was classless, right? I thought Billy-

Is this going to end with you apologizing? Do you want to clarify any of your wording? No, I know. I'll be serious. Like, I've come around on Billy in a big way. I'm like, I found myself rooting for Billy all morning this morning. I was I was way in like I the cup is full after the last two weeks of coffee golf, European tour golf.

It's been awesome between Royal County down last week, Wentworth this week. I was hoping for Montesero today. He was one of the maybe four guys that shot over par today. He just didn't have it. But Billy, I mean, Billy was just nails down the stretch and Roy makes that eagle on 17 and then, you know, kind of makes a mess there. And then they, and then Tristan Lawrence, uh, it's clearly out of the playoff, but he's chipped from across the hazard after he dropped and basically had to walk around the bridge to get to the green and Billy's about to play. I don't think it was the bunker shot, was it? It was the, it was the putt. Oh, he was in the bunker.

Oh, yeah, because he's coming back back down. And yeah, it's a it's a fantastic bunker shot. But before that, the rules official calls him off the shot and says, Hey, you know, wait for Lawrence to mark that for a potential backstopping thing, which it could have gone in the water, like he could have hit it long, gone, you know, gone in the water and all that. And then Billy, Billy gets all chippy with the rules official, because he was ready to play and all that. And listen, Billy should have been doing the right thing

from the beginning there. And it was just one of those things where it's like, man, like, like, protect the field, right, like, protect Rory there. Like, I think if I'm roaring that, in that instance, I'm like, dude, you gotta mark that. You got to wait for him to mark that. I think, yeah, I think Billy's point, I agree. I think Billy's point was just like, they could have a rules of like rules official could have been ready and waiting to go do that,

right? If it was going to be a priority to do that, knowing Lawrence was gonna have to go all the way around, like waiting until Billy got over the shot was I think the part he was just annoyed with of like, you know, you could even if I'm in my process, you can signal Hey, Billy, I'm gonna go mark this really quick. Like and I agree Billy should shouldn't hit the shot before it gets marked anyways, he should like, like maybe the rules officials deferring to the players of like, Hey, are you guys gonna handle this on your

own? And I'm only gonna step in if you don't handle it on your own. And then Billy, you know, shakes the rules officials deferring to the players of like, hey, are you guys going to handle this on your own? And I'm only going to step in if you don't handle it on your own. And then Billy, you know, shakes the rules officials hand doesn't look them in the eye afterwards. It's just kind of, the whole thing was just kind of, I don't know, I hate that we're even talking about this because it was a brilliant win from Billy. He went toe to toe with Rory beat him and all that. And I, listen, I've been, I've come around on a, in a big way on Billy, as you guys know, I think he's, you know, do I think he's performative sometimes?

Yeah. But also I respect the hell out of him for playing in Europe more than some of the European guys do. He loves playing, you know, over in London, he loves playing links golf, loves playing Heathland golf. And he puts his money where his mouth is, right. He's a big supporter of the APGA. He raises a lot of money here locally. And I don't know, I just, I've come around on Billy.

I think his heart is in the right place. I think he's a good guy at heart. Randy, just stop talking about all this, all this backstopping stuff here. I hate that we're all talking about everything. I read your tweet on that. I read that as like, okay, this is obviously like he's being facetious here. Like literally no, nobody is talking about this, but you and you're like, I hate that we're having this conversation. I was texting with Shackleford about it all afternoon. And I was

texting with some of the PGA tour rules officials about it. And they said that guy's going to be at the president's cup this week. And so I'm just, I'm very, very unhappy that we're even having to talk about this big win for, for Billy. He was, uh, I mean, he was almost a little like, I don't know, apprehensive or shy in his, in his celebration, his press conference, cause he felt bad that he'd beaten Rory. I was kind of like, man, I mean, Roy's got plenty of these things. Enjoy this, dude. This is your second BMW PGA. You just stared him down and beat him. Like I, I was kind of surprised by his muted reaction,

I guess. But I echo your sentiments on how much he cares about the DB world tour and how much he actually goes and supports it. It's always kind of been a confusing one to me. It's, but, uh, Bill, there's a whole lot more good with Billy than there is bad, I think. Yeah, he's going to rub some people the wrong way at times. I think, but overall, good, good, good hearted person, you know, at his core. And I find myself rooting for him a lot too, TZ.

I think Billy makes mistakes at full speed. Which I respect. Yeah, that's a great way to put it. Where are you at on Billy, Randy? I actually echo Tron. I feel the same way. Billy doesn't, I certainly don't have any animosity to him and in all sincerity, the stuff he does away from the court seems to be really good.

And that's wonderful. I think he's an interesting guy to watch play golf. He's twitchy. He's, you know, he's got a short fuse sometimes. And so for that, I like him. He doesn't, does not bother me. Yeah. He really like, I don't think there's anybody out there that gets more out of their talent

in their game than Billy. He works his dick off and you know, he just, I don't know, he just seems like he always, especially from where he was a year, year and a half ago, too, right? I mean, it's, it's crazy to see how far back he's come. Same with Manassaro, right? It's, it's, uh, I don't know. It's a complicated case, but I think, I think Billy is, I just, I like the way he plays golf and I like his swing and he just maximizes his talent. So. I want to get to Wentworth. I want to get to this event.

I think we're going to, we've, we've talked about a lot. We were maybe going to be trying for that next year. Potentially. I mean, we just got to figure out a way that we also, I mean, who knows what the hell is going to happen with the golf world, but this is, this is primed for whatever this global tour, if this global tour is going to ever happen, which nobody seems to be talking about anymore.

Like this is one where you need all the best players playing over there. Like it should be one big event in London or London area for those fans. Cause those, I mean, those, those massive crowds out there and shit weather, like getting to, you know, I'm sure Rory has a ton to do with that,

but that's their premiere event. It feels like it just has a little less steam every single year, just kind of the way golf is trending in general. And I'd like to see that event really thrive. So. Which it's the one thing too, that you can do opposite football. You can have these morning events for the US. And last week was the same thing at Royal County Down. And let's get a few more of those. Let's get it. Let's get the European swing like you're, you know, August, September, it's, it's money for it. And I'm so fulfilled when I watch DP World Tour productions, that World Feed that they

throw on Golf Channel, Radar and all those guys. It's just like, it's like what I grew up loving about golf, right? They stay out of the way. They show a ton of golf shots. The interviews are additive. They show some fun crowd shots. They just cover it in a way that's like unobtrusive, but they take pride in it as well.

And, you know, it's like how I fell in love with pro golf in the first place. And you gotta just love what NBC will tack onto it and nothing better than the ticker at the bottom where they cut off almost all of Billy's entire lower body at one point when he's hitting his approach shot into the final hole. It's hard to give this, let this little of a shit about your product. Like to be able to, to show, to cover up all of the golf ball, half of the golf club and pretty much all of Billy Horsles lower body by the ticker

and nobody just say like, Hey, maybe we should like reframe that, recrop that, or maybe not put the ticker up while we have somebody, you know, somebody up there like that, but they refuse to do that. So I'll say one more thing about Wentworth for as many times as they've redone that 18th hole. I think it's really cool that it demands two radically different shots.

You gotta hit that big cut off the tee or, you know, like Rory, Rory was kind of playing with fire there in the playoff. And then and then he got to hit a big towering draw into that pin. It's you know, back left pin with the with the creek kind of running front right to back left. It's a really interesting par five because it's not I mean, Billy had the advantage over Rory on that hole because it fit driver really well for Billy and Rory had to hit three woods.

So Billy could hit it past him on that line, cutting that right corner. And even then it's a huge, I mean, how much do you want to take off with that, with that next shot? It's just a, ask some pretty specific questions on that rather than just being a pure, you know, bomb and gouge par five, I think it's not, it's not like a, a perfect golf hole, but pro golf, that's a really fricking fun hole to watch. So, yeah. I mean, and then I would say Lawrence, like Tristan Lawrence shot 65, 65 on the weekend,

didn't win. He's up to second the race to Dubai, which I know you're a big race to Dubai guy. For sure. Who's leading Rory. Rory's leading. Correct. That makes sense. Aaron rye played well T four. I'm going to go shout to Matthew Baldwin to a journeyman, a challenge tour player, I think started the year somewhere outside the eight, uh, 800 in the world.

Is that a really solid year? He birdied the, uh, the last to finish T four. He held the 36 hole lead. The headlines are all going to, they're calling them the former Amazon delivery driver. You know, kind of that made for, made for the casual golf fan story, but a huge shout out to him for a massive finish.

That birdie at the last was I'm sure worth a ton of money as well, so congratulations to him. Big Bob had a great eagle earlier in the week that DP World Tour highlighted. Foxy had a great eagle as well. I know both those infuriated you, Sally. Eddie pep had a good week. If anybody, if anybody notices TC lashing out,

I've won the fantasy baseball championship this week and TC is really coping very, very, it's not coping well. So he just got to, got to continue to find stuff to lash out about. So probably won't be the last instance on you You haven't won it yet, Solly. It's the precincts are reporting. I think we're, I'm many, many, many scoring errors away from that being the only thing that could possibly jigs it. So more on that later.

I'm not pushing any narrative, but like I would never do that. How can you get mad about a couple run around like how could you truly be like, yeah, just can't he can't beat every single

person in these fields. He was plus 550 to win this week loses in a playoff to Billy loses to an Eagle. If I may say, we didn't even mention that Billy Eagle, the second playoff hole made it 30 foot. Yeah. It made a bomb to win it or else they're going back to the tee and going to go do it again. That's, that's just golf happening. I mean, if again, it's like, I Rory has an ability to, to process and channel these things to say like this, you can't, if you're getting really upset about like this second place finish, you're kind of doing golf wrong because you're just destined to have your heart broken by every single week because it's funny.

It's funny to hear you guys take such a different tack with Rory versus Sue and Tom. Oh, don't you dare. Don't you dare. A little bit more equity. I mean, listen, going back to the Canadian Open fourth, second at Pinehurst, fourth at the Scottish. List off Tommy's PGA Tour wins. Go ahead. You see the Irish second today at the BMW PGA.

I'm just saying it's not just not hitting those shots down the stretch that we need to. It seems like I believe it is 26 26 zero in terms of PJ tour wins to Tommy on that one. So I don't know if that's the best cop. You could have pulled out TC, but I do appreciate you reaching for it. I really were talking DP world tour golf here. Right. Do you want, I'm sure we could, we could compare that as well. I believe Rory has 17 DP world tour wins. I don't think our bit has been that we are questioning Tommy Fleetwood's DP world tour record. in the U S Randy's waiting. I'm fine with what's going on. Randy's the one that's upset. Well, can we talk about somebody who did win in the U S please ripper Los Rippers. What a, guys, Merida looked awful. I have no desire to ever step foot there. It looks just horrific. Just like really, really weird kind of between Bolingbroke last week and then Merida this week. Playing opposite the Cowboys at home game.

It's hot as shit. Like I guess like I can compliment it and say it was firm. It was firm and kind of windy, which is good. Yeah. It's just, it sounds like it's, it's a, it's a tough scene there that Tisi. Can I jump in here? I am so close to being so all in on the live team championship until they get to this final round and switch back to stroke play. I it's, it's maddening. I found the first two days of this tournament genuinely interesting, like full stop. Like of course, would it be way more interesting if they had better players, more complete set of players? And if we actually understood how the teams were built, of course it would. But the actual team match play, it's a great

format. The three matches is incredible. Two singles matches and the two other guys play have all shot fours in this match. So there's three points. You can't have matches, right? So you play until the points are settled and like that's how you decide who advances. You get to pick your opponent. Like that's a great thing. I got a great idea that I feel like we've always written for on like the actual match play like the old Dell match play would have been a way more fun way to do it.

Uh, yeah, maybe I don't know if all the teams need to make the playoffs, but the iron heads, uh, beat a third. There's a 13 over one win. The iron solid, the equivalent would be like, if the, if the 20, 24 Chicago white socks were able to get into the playoffs and then somehow beat the Dodgers and then beat whoever else is playing good, like the Brewers or something this year. And then somehow, they almost won the fucking thing. It was insane. You got Danny Lee out there. You got Scott Vincent, both the Vincent brothers in the finals here.

Kieran Vincent, looks like sideshow Bob there with Legion 13. Legion 13, you know, Rom didn't even show up. He went home. They had to sub in somebody, John Catlin. I wish I knew you could do that because I would have advised my cliques to do that there to sub out Samoya. But I mean, like with like with four holes or five holes left, looked like the Ironheads were going to get it done and not played brilliant golf today.

It's crazy. I was it was truly one of the biggest upsets. I mean, they beat the Crusher's yesterday. It was sick. Crazy. Danny Lee beat Bryson straight up. It was sick. Crazy. Danny Lee beat Bryson straight up. It was like legitimately interesting. Like it's, it's wild that there's only one of these events a year that I'm like, Hey,

this is, this format is intriguing to me. I don't know if you could do that every week of like, you know, just having a head to head matchup. I think that'd be more interesting. It's the one event that's different on their entire schedule. My thing is with the other ones, there's just like, dude, it's just like stroke play with a little bit of manufactured team stuff. And today it didn't do it for me. The stroke play at the end is too chaotic.

I, I, I struggle to keep up with it, uh, as to what exactly is happening there, but the match match play is just very easy to understand. It translates really well. And I'm so in on it. So maybe make it eight teams get in the playoffs. How about that? Cut the bottom five out and then do your first two days that decide the and I'm so in on it. that decide the championship and just have the final round be just, you know, the championship. Which yeah, going back, we had the 13th seat over the four. I appreciate that. And then they make the other teams still play today. There's like a consolation bracket. So there's a tier two thing. So Stinger was minus 15 today. Fireballs were minus 14. Smash shot 300 today over four balls. Oh, no.

Brooks shot 80. Seriously? Just completely. Yeah, just completely mailed it in like he wanted to talk about wolf quitting. Like he quit. He quit harder than anybody. So yeah, but we had the we had the 13 over the four, then the iron heads or then the high flyers beat Torque.

12 over a five. It was crazy. You always can expect one of those that come tournament. You can throw out the records when you get to the live team championship. That's what I always say. Or something. Yeah. Yeah. And then, you know, Stinger just crushed the Kleeks in the first round. What's your reaction to that? What do you have to say about that? Yeah. Any comment? Where do we go from here?

Yeah. Kymer pairs himself up with Blandy and puts Samoya and Maronk out in singles. When like you need to put Blandy in singles. I don't understand what they're doing there. So just isolate your players. Are you? Oh, 100%. We need to make a change.

What's the off season? I mean, hopefully Kymer, you know, is sacked, Randy. That's all I can hope for. Can he be? What's his status? I think he's a non-equity captain or owner. He just brought a new general manager. He was the CEO of Minecraft prior, I think. I swear to God. Oh no. He's a Swedish guy. So swear to God. Oh, no. You know, we'll see. And then I don't know. Like yesterday was awesome. Watching Ripper play Ripper, playing the fireball. Hold on. And you had to have taken some of that clean stuff up to somebody working the register. Like what the fuck is going on here? Why are these?

Actually, you'll like this. You like this. I mean, look at all these hats. Sorry, it's better. This story will be better than that. And also TC came back to the Soul Ham Cup Saturday night, literally with 20 hats. How much did you spend? Like 400 bucks. I put it on the company card. I got all you guys. That's how I knew how much he's present.

So then one of the, I guess like their merchandising person texted Claire Rogers and she's like, Hey, this guy came in and he bought like 400 bucks for this stuff. Cause people were, it was like being at the masters, man. I swear to God, people were, it could not keep the crushers gear in stock. It was flying off the shelves. The Jastix like don't sell hats. They only sell visors. I got so much. I'll do a whole gin and tonic just about this stuff. But like,

you know, I got, look at this fireballs hat. It's sick. You know, so anyway, the lady that checked me out, I guess used to work for golf magazine. So she texted Claire Rogers. She's like, Hey, this guy came in and bought like 400 bucks for this stuff. She was like, Oh, you got to get the cliques like the checkerboard hat. And I was like, Oh, I already got that. She's like, Oh, I like, what about this one? I said, No, I've already got that one too. And then she realized after the fact that she was like, I, and then I realized after like 10 minutes after that was Tron. So, I mean, I cannot emphasize enough like the people watching. It's like going to a music festival. Like, like that's the comp,

right? It was, it was, uh, Bolingbroke was so freaking weird and I mean, not a good golf course. It's like a $70. I mean, you've played there, right? It's like a $70 Muni Bryson said they could host a major there tomorrow. Uh, props to them. They did. They did firm it up, but man, it was, it was like a lot of the comments that I heard from fans were like, Oh, it's, you know, they need two bartenders back there. One on the register and one like Lollapalooza has that. Why can't we have that here? Like that's the kind of comments you're hearing. But Bryson, I mean, it's just, it's Bryson, Bryson, Bryson. It's crazy.

He is the needle. Yeah. Yeah. Well, yeah, it's, I still like struggle to, and I think it's pretty consistent with comments we've made in the past and kind of how I view it is like it's a good outdoor event. Like golf aside, like it's just a good outdoor

event to attend. They should lean into the in-person thing of like I walked around being like, like, hey, they didn't have enough grandstands, which I think is probably they don't want to build a bunch of grandstands and then have them be empty. And then guys like us will dunk on them because they're emptier. People are on different sides of

the course. There wasn't a lot of shade out there. It was hot. Like it was packed and it was well run. I had a positive experience out there, but like, A, like the music is just bizarre, kind of dystopian. And then B, like, I think they finally started to stagger. So the leaders tee off on one and then they'll put a couple couple midfield teams or like midfield

groups that are kind of middle of the pack out on like 16, 17, 18 so that the last place guys don't come through immediately after them. Because everybody gets announced on one. And so it's just a really, really weird vibe. So you've got Matt Wolf coming through at like plus 10 and they're announcing him or Mickelson or like, but like the two guys, Mickelson and Bryson were the two that were like the most into it. Entire day they were just completely locked in performance art.

It was really, really interesting to watch. I was going to say like, it's wild to me that like Bryson can have one and a half million YouTube subscribers now, is one of my favorite players to watch, is interesting, he's the needle when you go there in person, all that, and 89,000 people watched the final round of the individual championship on the CW. I know 1.4 trillion are watching it on the app, I get that.

I'm sure of all that, but like, it still just like speaks to the massive width and unnecessary. They still, nobody's asking for this thing other than like, yeah, when they put up the event near you and it sounds like a great time to go and attend it, it wasn't worth from a macro perspective upside of the entire golf world for it. Because man, that should translate. If Bryson is that big of a needle, if Rom's that big of a deal, there's no fucking way you can have under 100,000 people watching that golf tournament. It's like an unfathomable truly.

Oh, totally. And I will say too, it was so freaking jarring to see them stage the carts for the shotgun. Just to see like, John Rom riding on the back of a cart out to his starting hole. How do they know when to start? Is there like a countdown? Is there a buzzer? No, they just go out and they just go. They should do like a cannon or something. But they just kind of start. Yeah. Okay. But yeah, I don't know. It was and I do think they're they're sacrificing. It's like and I do think they're sacrificing.

That to me is why they haven't captured the Korean market. The Ironheads aren't capturing it? Yeah, right? It's like, get some of the good Korean guys. kind of thing. And it's like, they need to lean into, hey, when they go to good venues, I thought the one that Valderrama was interesting. It was a good golf course. I think when they've gone to good venues, like the Greenbrier, I enjoyed that one. I had a second screen going when the PGA Tour was on too. I think the other thing too is everybody's losing. And I'm curious if there's going to be another round of recruiting. I've I'm done like betting against that at this point. I mean, if the PJ tour thinks they can just wait them out and the Saudis won't keep spending in and recruiting players, I think I would not be willing to place that bet. If I was the PJ tour,

they lost that with Ram already. I do wonder if the SSG situation like with the DECI, the equity that he would have in PJ tour enterprises, does that help offset any cash that would come from live on that? And like, I think the jig is I don't, nobody's going to make the same mistake Rom made, which is thinking you could get the money and solve, like help solve this thing.

Because I think everybody's pretty wise to the situation now of like DOJ, you know, any more competitive behavior in this is gonna, they might already be, it's not like they're already fucked on this front of like, this is like any merger between these two is gonna be anti-competitive. New venue this year, TPC Rivers Bend, which is up kind of north suburban Cincinnati. Is this the third venue? Second. Kenwood Country Club for two years, and now first year here at TPC. They'll be here at least two more years. And I really hope this can be a long-term home for the event. I think Kroger and P&G, good sponsors to have. Lydia Ko. Lydia Ko was the story. She shot a final round 63 today, wins by two, excuse me, wins by five strokes. Her 63 was the round of the day by two strokes. She chased down Gino Titicum, who finished solo second.

Guys, Lydia is just in fuego. So it's her third win in her last four starts, going back to that Olympic gold. She finished ninth at the Scottish Open and then won the AIG Women's Open and then won this week in Cincinnati. 22nd career LPGA victory, third this season. I think the thing that shocks me, right, with Lydia,

she still trails Nellie by 100 points in the player of the year race. And I'll note like the Olympic gold medal dinggitter, any points. That's not that's not recognized by the LPGA tour. Crooked LPGA tour. But like if if player of the year were a vote, I think, which it's not recognized by the LPGA Tour. Crooked LPGA Tour. But like if Player of the Year were a vote, I think, which it's not, I think Lydia is building a case, right? Especially if she won once or twice down the stretch, perhaps if she won the Tour Championship,

like rewind back to April, May, and it was like, oh my God, Nellie's Player of the Year, like this is unbelievable. And Nellie's just stalled out a little bit and we see Lydia really building this second half of the year. Of course, she gained Hall of Fame status with that win at the British. And so I guess that's what I'm curious about is how can Lydia keep this going over the last couple months of the season? The LPGA heads to Arkansas next week for the Walmart event, and then they do an Asian swing,

and then they come back stateside with a Hawaii event into two final Florida events. Lydia might not be done winning, that player of the year race could tighten up. Something to keep an eye on there. The other thing guys that I wanted to talk about was Gino Titicum, who I mentioned finishes second. It's her seventh top 10 in 12 starts this year. She's 21 years old. Her one win was the Dow team event with Ronny Yin.

But I was just curious, because I'm looking at Gino's career now and this was her 36 top 10 which blows my mind for a 21 year old. Like Lilia Vu has 19 in her career, Rose Zhang has eight in her career. It's just incredible what she's doing. But only three wins. And so I was curious like some of these other top players, how many wins for top tens, you know, what are they converting the percentage they're converting at? And what I found interestingly is like, you look at Nellie, she's got 14 wins in 65 career top tens.

Jin Young-Ko is 15 wins, 58 top tens. All these like best players in the world, Lydia Ko, 22 wins, 111 top tens. They're all winning at about a 20% clip when they finish in the top 10. And I just thought it's interesting that Gino Titicum is three career wins out of 36 career top tens. That's about an 8% conversion right there.

And I don't say that to slander Geno. Today she just got beat. Lydia went out and won this golf tournament. Geno, yeah, sure. She could have shot a 65. It's a big ask. I think I just am very bullish on it. At some point, Gina Titticicum is going to start winning golf tournaments

and she's going to win a shit ton of them because she puts herself in contention in spots, honestly, more so than anybody on tour. Like really including Nellie Korda. Her ability to top 10 on the LPJ is incredible. Sounds like you're talking about Tommy. I would love to put those up against Xander, but prior to this little leap he made the last several months, I might have to quote digging on that one big. I will say, Randy, one of Gino's wins was the Dow.

Was the Dow, right? Team event. So it's a team event. So you look at running in who's sorry, the two other 21 year olds, right? So let's compare it to other 21 year olds running in. Three wins, 14 top tens. That's again about a 21% rate. Of course, running has a Dow team win with Gino. So do with that what you will.

And then Rose, she has two wins, eight top tens. That's a 25% clip, small sample size, but it just, at some point, I expect Gino to start winning in bunches. And I don't know, she's got all the talent in the world. She was effusive in her praise for Lydia Ko. She talked about after the round, like honestly, it was such a great experience. Like she's, I look up to her like a big sister, like a legend.

Like I think Gino was a little bit in awe in this final round. Maybe didn't help her close the deal, but good, good golf tournament. The weather was hot and since the course was pretty firm, some other notable finishes just real quick, if you'll allow me five, Yuka Sasso, the, the U S women's open champion. She fired a final round 65 to finish fourth. Good to see her up on some leaderboard.'s too talented not to be in contention more like you cuz the opposite of like not getting Yeah, she just oh she'll just pick off a legit forget about her from time to time because she just I know goes away For a while then she sneaks and wins a fucking US women's open But yeah, you can my feel like she looks like the best player in the world doing totally. Yeah. Whereas I feel like I feel like Gino is a little bit like Xander was the last few years.

I think that's fair. Yeah. I feel like if you like similar games, if they would play like women's events, just at like straight up on a PGA tour course, PGA tour set up 7000 yards. I feel like you could would win like 80% of them. I think that's a big thing, right? Is like, there's just, I'm all over the LPGA and I get it. It's tougher because there's a bigger spread or a bigger dispersion between the best player, like the longest players and the shortest players. But I wish they'd set up some of these courses harder because I think they'd have less parity and there'd be more, more dominance and more stars.

It's been a great year for that though. It's hard to argue with what they've gotten out of the less parody and more stars, cause it's been insane. But that's the exception. It is, it is. And I wouldn't credit the setups to that, other than to say like, it actually has broken really, really well

for the LPGA tour this year. That was kind of my main beef for the LPGA tour going into this year was it just felt like those big names were not, the prior year had not done what they've done this year. So Nellie top five wanted to call her out. She, I mean, I think she was talking the beginning of the week, just exhausted. So still a high floor result for her album Valenzuela, somebody TC and I, and Sally, we watched a lot of at the Solheim cup last week. She finished up, she had a great Sunday singles day

against Lillevue ended up having the match and the deciding half point, but comes to Cincinnati finishes T7 great result for her. And then Maria Fosse, you know, she shot his third round 76, but this was by far her best tournament since early June. She ends up finishing tied for 19th was very much in it through the first two rounds. Always interesting to see her name pop up on the leaderboard. And then Lexi and Charlie also finished T19 there with Maria Fossey. And shout out one other thing, sorry, they invited the sponsor exemptions this week were

fantastic. It was a bunch of amateurs and recently turned pros, big names in and around the amateur and college game. You had Gianna Clemente, Amari Avery, Yana Wilson, Anna Morgan, all very accomplished. Unfortunately, none of them played well. They all missed the cut, but I applaud the Queen City Championship for very thoughtful, exciting. Web Simpson was trying to get in, but they wouldn't, wouldn't let him.

They didn't give him a spot. Yeah. So that's, that's about it. Uh, from, from Cincy, I do want to point out TC. We, I think we mentioned her at last year's Solheim cup. Helen Bream on the ladies European tour wins the Licella open in Spain. She shot 66 66 this weekend. Solly, why is that a big deal? You're asking? Well, Helen Bream is 19. She just turned 19 years old. She's six three. She's a big German. She hits the shit out of the golf ball. And this was her first pro start on the L.E.T. So she pulled the Rose Zang.

I think TC and I, TC, I think we gotta save a spot for her in Holland in 2016. We do, we've already got a spot saved. Okay. You sliding in, the more we hear about us talking to talking to some players who were on the teams last week in at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club. I can only say that some of the decisions that Captain Patterson made are even more staggering in hindsight. The eye test may have gotten personal dynamics and various affairs that were being had. It's crazy. Crazy.

It's when the eye test goes bad. Yeah, tough, tough week. But in all honesty, Helen Bream, that is a name to remember. She won three times in a row as an amateur back in June of this year on the L.E.T. Access Series. She has been beating down the door and to win in her first L.E.T. event is that's big stuff. So kudos to her. Wow. Great stuff, Randy. Thank you so much for all. Randy, I didn't realize that the Lotte moved to the fall either. That's great. That's like, you know what? Like we've given the LPGA a lot of flack

the last week and a half or so, but that one used to kind of be a stray event there in late April. And the fact that they're doing that on the backend of the Asia swing is great. It's on the way back. Yeah, I know. I agree.

Awkward event for, and well, and I guess it gives it people that aren't playing the Asian events. It gives you a ton of lead time to get out there to Hawaii. Some other news and around the golf world, the PGA of America announced that live players will be eligible for the Ryder Cup, which they already were. They announced Thursday,

their board has determined live golf players will be eligible for both future PGA championships and the writer couple of players are offered a three membership into the PGA of America. The same grand to PGA tour players, those in the DP World Tour and nine other circuits around the world. They need to offer him a five a five wagyu membership. This was seen as a massive win in the, in the, in the peace talks of bringing the golf roll back together.

I don't think it was that other than it was, I don't, I don't know exactly what this was all about. I know there was an article going on. Brooks play last. He did, but there was something going around about how Bryson might not be eligible because he doesn't have membership. I don't know, but it was, they clarified it and they're going to be eligible for it because they are now have PGA of America membership. So PGA of America is

just killing it. They, they announced that right before the president's cup, which I'm sure made the PGA tour happy. Um, it's ticketing was a complete mess. It's past week, just like four years ago. Uh, you know, their, their site crashed for like 30 hours. They're charging 250 to 425 bucks for practice round tickets. And the face value of the tickets for competition days is 750, which listen, get it? New York is going to be a big thing, but when the face value for those tickets is 750, they also have the wrong dates listed on the website. for those tickets to 750. They also had the wrong dates listed on the website. Which is just like guys, like, you know,

and the more I hear the more it sounds like they're out on the PGA tour purchasing the Ryder Cup from them. And they want to keep it in house, which if you do want to keep it in house, then like you need to be acting a serious organization guys. And I was going to make a plea for them to fix the commercial load for the Ryder Cup when it does come around, but we know that's not going to happen either. That's stupid.

How dare you? Joel Beale had an article that we'll skip past one storyline from this week, which was, I gave it some oxygen and I wish I didn't love just like, I was kind of joking about, but there was rumors going around that potentially the John Rom needed to give his money back to be able to get back onto the PGA tour, which just didn't, didn't sound true from the get-go. Then I was just pointing out that like this is very Bloomberg needs to be better. They shouldn't be for sure.

Yeah. Everybody's got to be better. Joel Peel had a good article squashing that and had some sources and some info in there. I'll read you just a little bit of it, but said reports emerged earlier this week that one of the obstacles in the negotiation between the PGA Tour and Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund involved the idea of live golf members, specifically John Rahm and his supposed $300 million signing bonus,

returning the money received in their live contracts. That's not the problem. Multiple sources familiar with the talks have told Golf Digest, the real crux is much simpler and more complicated. As a preface, yes, there's a sect of PGA Tour players who would like lived effectors to inject their financial windfalls into a theoretical unified ecosystem or hope that this prerequisite

keeps live players from returning altogether. However, no one involved in the talks with PIF officials seriously believes that will be an option. I would seek out Joel's article on Golf Digest for just kind of more holdups and all of what's going into this. Some guy, you know, kind of going into a person by person basis,

like, you know, the issues that we've talked about for many months, almost years now, of like, hey, the 11 dudes that like sued the tour are the biggest problem in all of this in terms of you got your money, you left, and you just out of spite, try to cause harm on the tour that you left behind is how they're viewing it on the PGA tour side and makes it a lot more difficult. Those 11 people are

Phil Mickelson, Bryson DeChambeau, Taylor Gooch, Hudson Swafford, Abraham Answer, Carlos Ortiz, Ian Poulter, Pat Perez, Jason Kowkrak, Peter Ulline, and Matt Jones. Hudson Swafford being one of them just cracks me up. He was out at the Live Chicago event and they made him wear the blank, like the wild card uniform. So he's got the aces on the hat or the joker on the hat. It was tough. I felt bad for Hud. But now they still want like penalty, like a lot of, you know, a number of individuals on the tour side still want separate

penalties and conditions for these live members. Look, that's something that's going to have to get worked out. I don't know if the answer is going to be or should be. That's just another one of these things you point to. It'd be like, dude, things are not close. Like it's really not close. It's going to be so messy no matter what happens. It's going to leave you with the bad tasting around.

Just like every single thing in this process has done already. I feel like we just need to go back to the early nineties, mid nineties, early two thousands when Piff partners with the DP World Tour, Guy Canning step up to the plate. Rory, you only want to play 18 to 20 times a year. Cool. You play, you know, you play parachute into the PGA tour. You play six times, play six times on DP world. And then it's like, I don't know. I just feel like, all right, if the PGA tour doesn't want to play ball, if lives a thing, you know, you got the, what's the indoor thing, TGL, you got that whole thing that the tour is probably, it's just like, you know what, guy, kidding, step up to the plate, TGL, you got that whole thing that the tours probably, it's just like, you know what?

Guy Kinnick, step up to the plate, negotiate something, figure it out. Let's break into different varying parties and just make this a, you know, kind of a tripartite thing instead of this dual, this duopoly. It'd be nice for the DP World Tour just to like go out on their own. Be the global tour, right? Separate themselves from the PGA tour. Yeah. That's, that's done nothing for you guys. Well, that's not true. But at this point, like what is, I don't know. Can they negotiate directly with, with PIF? I don't know.

I don't know either. It just gets really, And then Jay got there, got his hooks into him with, you know, European tour productions thing sold off part of that. I don't know either. how the Torv was funding the 9-11 family's PR campaigns and all that. And then- It was such a bad column and yet the Torv still came out looking awful. Yeah, it was a really, really poorly written column. But it was, you know, it's just like, man, yeah, cool. Like Jay, you're like, you are a certified slimeball, man. It's just like, man, yeah, cool. Like Jay, you're like, you are a certified slime ball, man. It's bad. So it seems like from the Joel Beale piece,

like it seems like Bryson is a real sticking point, right? If you kind of cross-reference the 11 players that sued the PGA tour and then against like, who does the PGA tour really need back? And in Joel's opinion, it was John Rahm, Brooks Koepka, and Bryson DeChambeau. It's like Bryson's kind of that sticking point in both parties.

I feel like Mickelson probably is too, like being a lifetime member. I think they'd be fine to just never let him come. Did he keep his membership? Did Mickelson? I forget if, I thought he dropped because he's not listed on the PGA Tour earnings anymore. I could be wrong.

His son, Ron Green Jr. runs Global Golf Post, but Ron Green Sr. was a legend in Charlotte and kind of a ray of positivity. I wish, you know, kind of one of those guys that you wish he was your local columnist when you're growing up. It seemed like, you know, somebody that just came to work every day and tried to be a light for people. So Tommy Tomlinson had a great tribute to him in his newsletter this week. I need to go back and read some of his Thanksgiving columns too. Because I guess he just did this big Thanksgiving column with all the stuff that he was thankful for. So like the guy in my local paper was was Furman Bisher in the AJC and Ron Green, senior sounded like that that in in Charlotte as well. And it sounded like he was he could have been the most, you know, like he was the most successful guy at that paper and could have been the most, you know, arrogant or whatever. And he was the most humble, you know, kind of empathetic guy there. So condolences to his family and a life well lived.
