Starting point is 00:00:35 Hello, I'm Rob Beckett. And I'm Josh Willicum. Welcome to Parent in which Josh and I discuss what it's really like to be a parent, which I would say can be a little tricky. So, to make ourselves and hopefully you feel better about the trials and tribulations of modern-day parenting, each week we'll be chatting to a famous parent about how they're coping. Or hopefully, how they're not coping. And we'll also be hearing from you the listener with your tips, advice and of course, tales of parenting woe. Because let's be honest, there are plenty of times when none of us know what we're doing. Hello you're listening to Parenting Hill with Finney.
Starting point is 00:01:23 Can you say Rob Beckett? Rob's Beckett. And can you say Josh Widdickham? Just a today. There we go. That's a good one. Hi, hi. I'm Amy, and this is Finley.
Starting point is 00:01:38 He's two and a half. We started lockdown with a six-month-old in Wales, moved back to Aylesbury with the in-laws eight months ago. You've kept me sane why I was locked in as a first-time mom with a six-month-old and no clue what I was doing. I still have no clue, but at least he can tell me now. Keep being sexy and totally relatable, Amy. No probes.
Starting point is 00:02:02 No probs. No probes. 247. 258, baby. That's Anthony Joshua's management company. 258? Because they work so hard. Oh right. You sure isn't just that he couldn't get 247 at company's house? Like when you've got an email address, Rob Beckett, 1964 or whatever it would be. Yeah, 258, yes, 258 management because they're just so hard working. Considering he works for half an hour every two every six months in reality. Bloody you get less if he's knocked down early. I don't know what I'm talking about. Some great stuff there. Yeah I don't know what I'm saying. How are you? Yeah, good. I'm very good. I've missed you actually and I'll catch up. People don't know that we've people don't know we've been away in a weird way do they so we recorded some in advance so we've had three weeks away from each
Starting point is 00:02:54 other haven't we yes and and so much has gone on Josh it feels like it's not so I've got a plan of action for what we're gonna talk about so you've been in the UK working and having a sort of like Easter break with the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. It. It's th. It's. It's to to to to to to to th. th. to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the the. the the. the the. the. the the. We're. the. We're to to to to to to to the. We're to to talk about. So you've been in the UK working and having a sort of like Easter break with the kids but not gone anywhere. I went to... It's not a break, Rob, is it not a break? Yeah, but doesn't your door still go to nursery during Easter or does she... A week off? A week off? Okay, so, right. Easter, Easter weekend's four days? Four days as long, isn't it? Well, the Easter, he's, Easter, Easter, Easter, Easter, Easter, Easter, the the to to to to to to to the the to to the to to to to to to the the to to break? to break? to break, to break, to break, to break, to break, to break, to break, to break, to break, to break, to break, to break, it, it's a break, it's a break, it, it's, it, it, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's a break, it's a break. It's a break. It's a break. It's, it's, it's a to break? It's a to break? It's, to break? It's a to break, to break, to break, the the to break, to break, to break, the to break, to break, to break, to break, to break, to break, to break, to break, to break, to break, to break, to break, to break. It's a break, it? Do we need the Monday? Well, I think that's an Archbishop of Canterbury question, Well, is it Welby? Well, he's had a bad enough week of people attacking him, but do we need the Monday, Wellby?
Starting point is 00:03:34 The thing is, we could have recorded an episode, pretending about the future going, bloody Boris and the party, because I still rumble it on. Still the same. Still the same. Still the same. Just a bloat lying at work for ages and everyone gets angry. But yeah, no, so you was at home in the UK. I went to Disney in Florida and a bit of a nightmare getting out there with cancelled flights. And I've come to that. And we'll come to that.
Starting point is 00:03:59 So what we're going to do to do is is is is to do is to do is to do is to do to do is to do to do to do is if if if if if to do to do to do, and then I think I've got so much to talk about with Disney, because it's like visiting, mate, Disney is so massive. It's bigger in San Francisco. Yes, well I've not been to San Francisco, so that's of no use. Is it bigger than Exeter? It's like, yes, it's bigger than Exeter. No, fucking the thain. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney, Disney. Disney, Disney, Disney, Disney, Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney, Disney is big, Disney is big. Disney is big. Disney is big. Disney, it is big. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney. Disney is big. Disney is big. Disney is big. Disney is big. Disney is big. Disney is big. Disney is big. Disney is big. Disney is big. It is big. It is big. It is big. It is big. It is big. It is big. It is big. It is big. It is. It is big. It is. It is. than Exeter. Disney is bigger than the city of Plybeth. No, oh come on now, come on now. The Metropolitan Skyscraper Ridden city of Plymouth. The New York of the Devon. The New York of the... New York of Devon. But yeah, Disney is massive and I was a bit overwhelmed by it to be honest. So we're going to do a special episode
Starting point is 00:04:43 just about that. What I would say is your lovely wife started an Instagram account of the family holiday. Yes. Which I followed religiously. See that's a private account so he can put all the kids up basically. Yeah. So I'm lucky guys but I've got to try and protect them, haven't I? Yeah, exactly. Because have you seen that guy that there's a big thing on Tick-Tock about, you know, the Jolly family, they're a YouTube. What, Don't Jolly? Yeah, this guy just keeps, he keeps, he's really funny, his phones loud. And you would think, like, in like the library, like anywhere, it's mad, like, he's like,
Starting point is 00:05:17 oh my god, like, I only joking. Yeah, that was great, wasn't it? But it's a sound like I was being psychasticastic. I genuinely loved it. I genuinely I was thinking of the snail. Anyway, so basically there's a family called a JOLY, they're called Joe JOLY, I did a program about them and basically it's a guy and his wife and he films everything they do. Like their entire life is documented. Socon Jolie's or something. Anyway, he's been getting loads of like, he's been getting loads of like, he's been loads.
Starting point is 00:05:51 their people are getting loads of their clips and going this is weird kind of thing. And he's now deleted his entire YouTube back catalog. Oh God, is that going to be the life the the the the the the their their their th their th th th th th th th thi thi that going that going thi that going thi that going thi that going thi that going thi that going thi that going thi thir life thir life that's thi thi their entire entire their entire entire entire entire entire entire their entire entire entire entire entire entire their entire entire life their entire life their life thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi the an the an the an the an thean thean thean thean thean thean thean thean the an entire the an entire thi thi thi that people were taking clips and going this is weird kind of thing and he's now deleted his entire YouTube back catalog. Oh God is that going to be us with, is that going to be us for these podcasts right? Well no I don't know but that no but he was like filming everything but he was the weird is he's gone like yeah I don't want to put my kids their it was a YouTube channel they've got a bit out of hand and I was I I I I I I I I I I I I I I was I was I was I was I was I was I was I was I was I was I was I was I was I was I was enjoying I and then it become this big thing and it's sort of all made sense, oh fair enough maybe he started filming his kids and like a few people watched and before he knew it it creeped up at him and it was his job and he had millions of people watching but then you got his tick-toc and his kids are all on there so it feels like he's shifting platforms more yeah more than yeah it's like me going I've just had a new I've got a new I'm just just just just just just just a to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the to their I I I'm a to they. I'm a their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their to their to to to to their to they. I'm a they. I'm a they. I'm a they. I'm a they. I'm not I'm not I'm not I'm not the the try. I'm not try. I'm try. I'm try. I'm just just try. I the the the the th the the the the theing about the news on Channel 4, I just think it's really degrading.
Starting point is 00:06:45 Anyway, I'm new Post-Fi, I've got news for you, so I'll see it. I just want to get away from the news, I want to be silly again. I just want to mess up, I want to be the real me. Welcome to News Night, with we, yeah, because we don't put the kids up online so we're just doing that. So the mandanins and granddad's can see pictures and things like that. I would say from seeing it, from seeing it, Rob, it looked, we will come to it on Friday, yeah, but I just wanted to give you my initial feelings on it, which is it looked magical. Yes. You looked, thrown the holiday. I'd say between the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the initial. the initial. the initial. the initial the initial the initial the initial the initial the initial the thin. the the the the the the the the the their their their their their their. their their their their their their their their their their their. their. their. their. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. ta. ta. ta. ta. ta. ta. ta. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the looked throughout the holiday. I'd say between the start and the end of the holiday, Rob, you know when you see a picture of Tony Blair before and after he came to power?
Starting point is 00:07:31 It was a bit like that. Do you know what? I was either at my lowest their step or highest, I felt like I was on magic mushrooms, not pixie dust. Honestly, like some of the highs and loads which we will go through it was app but you know what it started off because the problem was it started off so stressful that it like that it took a few days to sort of come down and then when I did sort of calm down I went on a roller coaster and then came up again so it was like a series of uppers and down as literally so so it was it was it was it was great and the reason why we've tho. the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the th. th. th. th. th. the th. th. th. the th. th. th. th. th. the th. th. th. th. th. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. th. th............................................................................................................................................................ it was it was great and the reason why we've done that sort of private account is just because what he realized was all
Starting point is 00:08:08 our friends have got pictures of kids online and stuff like that which is great I've got no problem with it but when you know I've got like a million million million followers and you know you don't know who they are and I don't what you want and also they you put it up and it's all your friends and family, it doesn't matter, but if you're exposing your kids to that many people, I feel like they should have a choice in the matter. However, I didn't want them to miss out, because Instagram, you know, social media is going to be a part of their life forever. My friends have this lo! Lo and all their holidays. And if you do they are are are are are are are are are daughters are daughters are daughters are daughters are they are they are they are they are they are they are they are they are they are they are they are they are they are they are they are they are they are they are they are they are they are they are they are they are they are at they're they are they are they are they are they are they are.. I th. I th. I th. I th. I feel. thoooooo. I they are they are they are they are they are they can go oh and see all these things so Lou you do want to see it I have screen grabbed them all and I put them on my public account so yeah exactly so
Starting point is 00:08:52 I didn't really want to expose us that but if you sign up to my Patreon Tumblr if you said up to my Patreon you can see photos of my children so no so thou the to th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th the th th th th th the th th th th th the th th th th th to the to the to they to to they the the they to to to to to to to to to to to they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they their their their their to their their to to their to to their to ty. to to to to to to the to the one child, eight pounds a month for two children. And you know, and if you want to be what I like to call the platinum member, just any request of them in outfits, I can send them your way. Okay. That is not, that's not what that did. So I don't, because I've got to spoke to you. I became a Karen of disguise on social media. Yes. So, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, should, should, should, should, should, should, should, should, should, should, should, should, should, should should should should should should should should should should should should we we we we. So should should we. So should we should should we should we'll, so we'll, so we'll, so we'll, so we'll, so we'll, so we'll, so we'll, so we'll, so we'll, so we. to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to th. to th. tho. the. tho. tho. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to, to, to. to, to. to, th. I've got to spoch you, of a loop-acy, I became a Karen of disguise on social media moments about B.A. So should we start, well do you know
Starting point is 00:09:28 what, there's three things we need to do to do to the day Rob? For the Disney special? Not sponsored, not sponsored, just to be clear. Yeah I should be clear for this Disney holiday by the way I've had no freebie-you know what we're? the the the th is. Do. Do. Do. Do. Do. Do. Do. Do. Do. Do. Do. Do. Do. Do. Do. Do. Do. Do, th. Do, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the th. thi. thi. Yes, I, I, the th th th th the th the the th th th th th th. Yes, th. Yes, th. Yes, th. Yes, th. Yes, th. Yes, th. Yes, I, th. Yes, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll th. Yes, I'll th. Yes, I'll thi. Yes, thi. Yes, the the an interview but we'll call the interview with you Mickey Mouse. That's what we go. And then you can do an impression of Mickey. I'll do an impression of Mickey for the full 50 minutes. And Mickey's an interview in me about my holiday. So I'm like, how's your howls your trip buddy? Or whatever it is, he does. Yeah. That does quite creepy. need to do today then Rob which is discuss your issues with British Airways.
Starting point is 00:10:05 Yeah I feel like Erin Brockovich. Go into our new sponsor Virgin Airways who are great sponsors and we're looking forward to taking the podcast forward. I did mention to Michael's like if Bé had tried to advertise on the podcast you might need to say no because I think they're going to want who but the time I might do an episode. And we'll go through my week. Yeah. And we've also, should we do our big announcement first, Rob? Oh yeah, I nearly forgot about the announcement. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:33 Oh God, there's so much going. Too bloody right. Should we do that first? Do the announcement? Before we lose all our called Parenting Air. You do it, you did it now. So, Rob, do you know what I thought? Do you remember what I told you the story about when I was stuck on the train with all the Welsh rugby fans? Oh yeah. And I was writing in a book, in a notebook and it was all very tense? It was a kind of, it was about four or five weeks ago on here.
Starting point is 00:11:07 And I didn't say what I was writing, did I? No, no you didn't say what was, you? What was you writing? Well, you could have a guess of that, couldn't you Rob? Was you writing some of the new parent-in-helled book? I bloody was, Rob? We've got a book? We've got a book. We've got a book. Here we go, we've got a book. Well, we will have a book. I tell you what. We've got some of the book. We've got some of a book.
Starting point is 00:11:30 We've got some of a book. Guess what? Guess what? That book was written near a man that was drunk and thinking Let's move on, let's move on. Let's move on. We're so bad at announcements. We've got to right, we are writing a book called Parenting Hell, The Book. And what is it? Basically, give your ears a listen. Give your ears a listen to this.
Starting point is 00:11:55 Give your ears a bloody listen. Give your ears a rest and get your eyes out for a change. Oh yeah, unless you want the eyes. Shut your eyes. Yeah, shut your eyes. So. But not until you've bought it, because that'll be harder. Exactly. We are so bad at this.
Starting point is 00:12:09 Basically, we've got a book coming out. What's in the book, Josh? Right. We're writing a book. It's out. October the big boys. Bring it on, that's what I say. Bring it on. As as long as Richard Osmond hasn't got a book out, I'm up for that week. As long as Richard Osmond hasn't got a book out and I imagine he has because he's just quit pointless. But if
Starting point is 00:12:31 J. K. R. R. R. R. I reckon I reckon I could take her on at the moment for the rail, for the rail link. But yeah, it's out October 13th. And I know what people will say, why are you doing a book for the podcast? Can I say why I wanted to write this book, Josh? Yeah. Because we started this podcast, right, when the kids were older, I realize there's this absolute treasure trove of stuff about when the podcast is immediate,
Starting point is 00:13:08 is about what's happening right now. Exactly. So if I've got, oh my god, I had a nightmare, what happened? Well, four years ago, my daughter woke up in the night? Doesn't work. Doesn't work. And let me put it this way, Rob, we are not, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I, and I, and, and, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th. It's, th. It's, th. It's, it, th. It's, it's, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it's, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, the. It's, the. It's, the. It's a. It's a. It's a. It's a. th. th. th. tho. tho. tho. It's a. tho. It's, tho. It's, th. It's, th podcast. No, no, it's all it's new stuff. We may sort of reference stuff for context. There'll be a lot of stiff neck, loose neck references, of course they will. Do you know what, Rob? It's not these stories you've heard rewritten. It's new new stuff you haven't heard because that would be mental. I've been writing it and we've been texting each other yes and we even had a meeting we had a meeting about this we've this we've this we've this we've this we've this we've this we've this we've this. this. this. this. this. this. this. this. this. this. this. this. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the their. their. their. the their. the their. the their. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the their. their. their. their. their. their. their. It. It's. It's. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. It's not. the the the the th. the the the the the't we? We had a meeting about this. We've been going, do you know what, this is actually good, isn't it?
Starting point is 00:13:47 Well I was like, you know, will there be enough stuff? But like basically, I just sat down with Lou for 10 minutes and she reminded me of all the awful things I've done. So it was fine. Within 10 minutes of the first meeting, you said we need a no way. I was like Dan Brown. This is only one book. I have too much stuff. I was Dan Brown. There's no way I can fit it all in, mate. Tom Aks has signed up for free films.
Starting point is 00:14:12 Let me add the free books. So on top of us, this is the most exciting bit about the book. The biggest request we've ever had for on the podcast is of of of the the the the the th. we've ever had for on the podcast is of course we are giving a voice to Rose and Lou. Yes it's only fair isn't it? It is only fair they will be they're we're going to give them a chapter each yep in the book to do whatever they want with and because I mean that is how are you feeling about this Rob? A bit scared if I'm honest. I'm slightly nervous. And that's the thing.
Starting point is 00:14:46 I've got a few questions I wanted to ask Lou, but, and same with Rose, for you I imagine. But what we're going to do is we're going to ask you guys to send in questions for Lou and Rose. So you can submit questions. They may get picked, they may not. But if you put your name and your age and where you're from, we'll include, to to to include, to include, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, and, to, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, the, from, we'll include that in the book. So you could be in the book, which I think is quite a nice thing. Because we want, you know, it's all, we're all in this together so it's nice for you to be in the book as well.
Starting point is 00:15:11 So if you do submit that, we're going to our actual email address. I thought it would get confusing. So we'll announce that next week, but there will be an email address. So think about what questions you want to ask Lou and Rose. Well, basically, so basically, I'm just going to tell you what happened and try and not be emotion about it. But first of all, these fucking pricks... So basically right, again, I want to make it clear, I'm not doing this to look for freebies and I've never got any freebies, I've paid for this, it's just, I couldn't believe what happened, right? So we were flying out of Gatwick, Josh. Perhaps the problem is Rob, that you're paying. If you've got freebies, if you've got freebies, if you knew that you were Robb, they're off the TV, they wouldn't, if they wouldn't, they wouldn't, they wouldn't, they're they're they're they're they're th... they're, th. th. they're, th. No, fine, really good service actually, you pay on arrival, which I think it's quite good. 80 quid for the room for the room, tho, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, their, their, their, their, that, that, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, they, they, they, they, they, they issues, they issues, they issues, they issues, they issues, they issues, they, they, they, their, their, the really busy there. We ended up going to the Sofatelle for dinner, actually, which was really nice.
Starting point is 00:21:06 They did like a Chinese restaurant because the Premier Room was full, so we went there for dinner. And then he came back at a lovely evening, went to sleep. I was carrying four cases on my own, four big ones on my own. Was it stuck in the shag pile? Yeah he was stuck in the shag pal and then you know don't Lou have got the girls
Starting point is 00:21:53 these massive backpacks that are on wheels right and I said don't do that just get me a wheelie little case and I put all their stuff in it right she went no. No, it's cute, they'll pull it along. I carried those fucking bags everywhere we went, non-stop, and they were too low to drag along on the floor because they were kid's size. So, you know, they were better than the trunkie. The trunkie was the worst thing to happen to children's luggage since I haven't got an example. There's no example.
Starting point is 00:22:19 Nothing I'm going to say. Just trunky, because I'd carry them anyway. So we get in there, we wake up at 11 because the house alarm went off, so Lou's mom had to get out of bed and go turn that off at midnight, which was, that was great. Anyway, so we went, so we went back to sleep, and then at four in the morning, I can hear this, I see, I the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the house, I the house, I the house, I the house, the house, the house, the house, the house, the house, I the house, I the house, the house, I the house, the house, I the house, the house, the house, the house, the house, the house, the house, the house, the house, the house, the house, the house, the house, the house, the house, the house, the house, the house, I the house, I the house, I the house, I the house, I the house, I the house, I the house, I the house, I the house, I the house, I the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the thou, the the the the the the the the house, the house, the house, I was, I was, the house, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, the cover whip off and she went, she was half asleep when I was rolled over to her flight's been cancelled not even joking. So it's 4 a.m. Why does she know this at 4 a.m? She half, who is she like a kind of one of those people from the minority report that's able to... No, no, she's a very stressed mum that's not sleeping because there's a flight tomorrow to America with two kids. That's what she is. She's like half asleep. Checks the phone, flights been cancelled.
Starting point is 00:23:07 They canceled. She's just got a text from B.A.A. An email. Flights been canceled. Four a times, she sees the email that got sent at half, like half midnight. Yeah. We're sorry the upcoming flights the Orlando has been cancelled. We'll do everything we can to ensure you get to where you need to be. Right? Anyway so they canceled the flight at 11 a.m. from
Starting point is 00:23:52 from Gatwick to Orlando. Do you know what our next flight? A new flight is? We know we said we're in premium economy. Yeah. Our next flight is in economy so they've downgraded us. Oh that is unacceptable. Okay, departs. That is an unacceptable move. You wait, departs not on the 3rd of April, the 4th. Oh my God. From Heathrow? What? Well, you've got time to get there. Yeah, 24 hours from Heathrow to Chicago.
Starting point is 00:24:17 Yeah, I thought I was going from Gatwick. They've given you a flight economy rather than premium economy from Heath Road to Chicago. Yeah, I thought I was going from Gatwick. The Windy City? The Windy City? Yeah, surprised we could land! That is so far from Florida. I ain't that right. And then you're in Chicago O'Hare Airport for four hours, and then you fly it to Orlando. So you get, I'd get there like, um, about 30 to 40 to to to to their I'd get there like about 30 to 40
Starting point is 00:24:46 hours late. Fuck me. At 9 o'clock and we've got all stuff booked like park tickets and things like that I mean at the only what's weird is at that time of the morning you know because this is 4 a.m. 4 a.m. I found out this as I read Chicago O'Hare my brain went back to their hair I used to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the the to to the to their I their I their I their I their I their I their I their their their. We can knock them up before in the morning and there, they're off the day late to Charlotte. What? The Hornets? What? Starting point is 00:25:48 Absolutely Mufty. Here he is. All right, oh, my God, there, you're flying to Charlotte Hornets. So, so, so, so they're flying to John O'Hare or whatever. What is it called? Oh. windy city you don't even got a coat we're off to we were supposed to be going Florida so yeah so anyway it said so you get that email and then it says right just got to ask a question yeah go on mate how's the mood at this point because Rose would be fuming Lou and I would be trying to put on a break do you know what I I realized Rob I did something recent, so something happened recently, that was very stressful. What normally happens is something stressful will happen, and Rose will react as a person should react and be very stressed about it.
Starting point is 00:26:35 Yeah, and I will think my job here is to hold it together. Yeah. So I go... But I'm losing it underneath, but I'm going, no, no, it's fine, it's fine. I think it'll be fine, I think it'll be fine, it's fine, it's fine, and it's fine, it's fine, it's fine, right? So that's what I've done for the last decade of our relationship, right? Yeah. And then, and, no no no, it'll be okay.
Starting point is 00:27:06 And it switched her, she had to switch rolls. Oh wow. And then I remembered, right? Are you doing Rolls-play? I once read it. I was a kid when you did this. Yeah, and then she whipped me and I loved it. I reckon you'd be into that being beaten up. I would not. I would not. I think if you you you you you you you you you you you you th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th. I th th. I'd th. I'd th. I think if you had a couple of drinks and calm down I think you'd like a little slap. So now we've got a book out by the way. So anyway. So I realized that it is this dynamic for 10 years I've been creating this situation by being positive and then it switched and then I remembered a thing I'd read. Yeah. I've been creating this situation by being positive and then it switched and then I remembered a thing I'd read. I once read a book as classic stiffneck by the basically the equivalent of Alistair Campbell but for Gordon Brown like his press guy and he said when Ed what Gordon Brown used to get angry all the time and what would happen is
Starting point is 00:28:03 Ed Ball's tactic would be to get more angry than Gordon Brown and then Gordon Brown would have to get angry all the time. And what would happen is Ed Balls' tactic would be to get more angry than Gordon Brown, and then Gordon Brown would have to calm him down. So that was his way of deep. Gordon Brown would calm him down. And I've realized, I've ed balls, I've had bals. So you've married Gordon Brown and brown. So you've married Gordon Brown and bals. And Rose will listen to this and she'll know that now I've got this new tactic. Brown, brown balls, balls and brown, balls and brown, brown and balls. Yeah, yeah, exactly brown balls.
Starting point is 00:28:32 So there we go. Yeah, so yeah, so yeah, so, yeah, well, that's what. So, what, what's the mood like? Well, do you know what? L's very good at calming down. However, this is why the relationship works. In the moment, like that, her red goes. She's like hyperventilates. It's like, which is totally understandable and stuff. Yeah. So, well, it's annoying. It's not annoying, it's not annoyed, bless her. But I, she's much better at me in long-term planning. I'm terrible at that, but short-term in the moment is sort of,
Starting point is 00:29:09 it's sort of fine. So yeah, so basically, yeah, so that's happened. So I'd just say, look, let's calm down. What does the email say? And the email says, basically, what do I you can basically, basically, you, you, you, you, you, you, manage, manage, manage, manage, you, manage, manage, manage, manage, you can either accept these new flights, or you ring up, right? And I think, because basically, what I don't... You could enjoy two weeks in Chicago. Yeah, so I don't, I don't know this properly. So Simon Cowder on Twitter, the independent journalist. to your children asleep at this point. Yeah, definitely asleep, oblivious to what's going on to us. We're in the bathroom at this point, sort of like, to plann't to to to to to the to to the th. th. th. th. the thi. thi. thi. the thi. thi. the thi. thi. thi. the bathroom at this point, sort of like, trying to plan what we're going to do.
Starting point is 00:29:45 But Simon Cowder, C-A-L-D-E-R, lovely bloke, travel journalist. He, if you, I'll talk about this and I think I know what your rights are, but he will definitely know. So if you follow Simon Cowder on Twitter. So did you twea? He twee him at all, but I've seen him talking about this on B.A. Before, so basically, so they've got responsibility, they've got a responsibility to get you on a flight to that destination on another airline. So they have to try their best. So, for example, if they emailed us at 5 o'clock, mid-day, the day before the day before it's, the day, the day, the day, the day, the day, the day, the day, the day, the day, is is is is is canceled, the day, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, they're, they're they're they're they're they're, they're they've they've they've got, they've got, they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're their. They're their. They've got. They've got. They've got they're they're they're they're they've got, they're they're they're they're they're they're they're there's a Virgin flight tomorrow at 10 o'clock, there's a Virgin flight at 11 o'clock or there's an American Airlines flight. I've looked online, the space on those flights, get me on that flight. And they can't really argue, I don't think, because, but, so it's very convenient that they do decide to cancel it at their their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, or, I.....a, I.a, I.a, I.a, I. their. their. their. their.a, I.a, I's, I'm.a.a.a.a.a.a.a.a.a.a.a.a. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. their. their. I'm. I'm. I'm. no worries, I'll ring them and say this over the phone. You ring up, this is what happened to me, I don't know if this is what happens.
Starting point is 00:30:47 So you knew this anyway, was... So I knew that that, I knew that they have to do their best to get you on a flight that day. So what they've done there is given busy at the moment, so we can't help you. Buh! Hung up, I nearly fucking head buttied the wall. I've never been angry in my life. Because I was just like, what do you mean? You can't do that. You're just stranding people. And they just hung up. Were you tempted just to walk to Heathrow at this?
Starting point is 00:31:16 I'm sorry, no one to walk to Chicago Chicago Chicago Chicago Chicago Chicago Chicago Chicago Chicago Chicago Chicago Chicago Chicago Chicago Chicago Chicago steakhouses. Let's go for it. Let's just embrace Chicago. Do you know what, Rob? I'm not saying you made the wrong decision. I went to Chicago. I've been Chicago and he's fucking incredible. It's fucking brilliant. It's such a good city. It's got this lovely beach. It's got this lovely beach. You don't realize it's got a beach because it's got a river, a lake even, I'm sorry. It's got a lovely. to. It's a lovely. It's a lovely. It's a lovely. It's a l. It's a l. It's a l. It's a l. It's got. It's got a little. It's got a little. It's got a little. It's got a little. to. to. to. to. It's got. It's got. I'm a little. I'm a little. I. It's got a little. I'm a big. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I's got. I's got. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I'm. I. I'm a. I'm a. I'm a. I'm to. I'm to. I'm to. to. th. to. th. th. to. th. th. th. to. th. I'm the. I'm the. I'm the. I'm the. I'm the. I'm sorry, it's got a lovely beach. Imagine if I got through to you at 4 a.m. a BA. Look, Rob. So where Barack Obama's from? Oh great! Yeah, I'll knock him up so you can drive me to fucking Orlando with a kid.
Starting point is 00:31:51 Rob, have you seen the last dance? Yes, I have seen the last dance. That is set in Chicago. Set in Chicago. It isn't. It's set in Chicago in Chicago in Chicago in Chicago in Chicago in the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the mind of a lunatic. Yeah, so at that point my head's gone. So now I'm just like, right, well, what do we do? Because the reality is, it's 4 a.m., like all other flights, to start going to get booked up. It's Easter, like the week before Easter holidays, kind of thing. So then what we did was I found flights, there were virgin flights from Heathrow to Orlando
Starting point is 00:32:25 but taking off an hour after hours is supposed to be so I just booked those flights to get us out there because I thought if I don't do this we're going to be two days late it's going to be a nightmare just bite the bullet and this and this is a very privileged position for me because I'm in a fortunate position to have disposed income in the bank to do that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that th to do th to do to do to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the too. the too. to be. to be to be to be the bank to do that, where a lot of people, big Disney holiday, that would have all been in there already. Or you've had to do it on your credit card and then you get charged. So I'm very aware that I'm in a fortunate off position. However, at 4 a.m., I saw that money in the bank, I saw the prices of the flight, and I just did it. And I th I th I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that that would that would that would that would that would that would that would that would that would that would that would that would that would would that would would would that would that would would that would that would that would that would that would that would that would that would that would that would that would that would that would that would that would that I'll that I'll that would that would that I'll that would that would that would that would that. that. that would that. that would that would that. that would that. that. that would that would that. that. that. that would that. that. that would that. that. that would that. that would that would that would that would that would that would that would that would that would ally appreciative people can do that. Do you get the money back? We're in the process of doing that at a moment.
Starting point is 00:33:06 So they've not actually fully come back to me on that so I can give another update next week. But I just- I imagine this podcast will help? Well yeah I mean I don't, I don't know, but all make it worse. All I will say is I've got a photograph of a baby seat that they gave our friends with the nine month old that I haven't put online yet, but it's sitting there ready to go in a brown envelope, okay? And you do not, you do not want to want to this baby seat. It's like the picture of Boris Johnson with a samigil that. that. that. that. It's that. It's th. It's th. It's, it, it, it, it, it, I th. It's, it, it, it, it, I thu, I thu, I thu, it, I'll, it, thu, thu, thu, thu, I'm to thi. It's, I'm tho, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll their their, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's, I's th. It's like, I'm thr. It's like, I'm thr. It's like, tho. It's like, tha. It's like, tha'a'a'a'a'a'a'a'a'a'a'a'a'a'a'a, I'm th. th. go on about. What I'm saying is, whilst the inquiry is ongoing into our cancelled flights, I will not publish any photographs. However, when the inquiry's been finished, if I'm satisfied, I may publish the photo, but we'll see. Pop it on the, pop it on the private Instagram for me, will you, Rob? Okay, I'll send it to you so you can see it. Oh my god.
Starting point is 00:34:01 Oh my god. It's difficult not to make the jokes that I want to make about this baby's seat, Rob. Exactly, but let's just say it's been used. Yes. It's definitely been used before. I don't think that's a new one. That is absolutely incredible. But the bad thing is that's the flight home. They already know I'm annoyed. So you the the the the the th. So, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, th, th, th, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. th. th. the. that, the. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. And was it you that threw all the yoga over the seat
Starting point is 00:34:26 rock or was it someone else? I think it's sick I think it's baby sick. Anyway so I booked those flights and I'm aware that's very fortunate of me to be to be able to do that however I just that was my decision to do and I thr- I that I that I that that that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was th. that was th. th. that was th. th. that was th. that was they. that was these poor families from Newcastle that were like, well we've got, we can't hang around, we've come down from Newcast, we've got to go back to Newcastle, what are you gonna cover the hotel? What's gonna go? Anyway, so I managed to book the flights, right, and they were lumpy, but that's, you know,
Starting point is 00:34:54 but to be fair, Virgin was amazing. . that B.A. have had a cancelled flight. Basically... They must be absolutely walking on air. They're like, right guys, we've got to be the best we've ever been because there's going to be loads of angry people from B.A. now, do you know what I mean? It's sort of like, they were just like, so anyway, it was really good. Do you know what it reminds me of from? I know someone. I know someone. I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I the the best, I the best, I the best, I the best, I the best, I the best, I've the best, I've the best, I've the best, the best, the best, the best, the best, the best, the best, the best, the best, the best, the best, the best, the best, the best, I've the best, I've the best, I've the best, I've the best, I've the best, I've the best, I've the best, I've the best, I've the best, I've the best, I've the best, I've the best, I've the best, I've the best, I've the best, the best, the best, the best, the best, the best, the best, the best, the best, the best, the best, the best, the best the best, the best the best the best the because the previous host had been sacked for being so horrible to the staff. Oh really?
Starting point is 00:35:26 And he said, I am, I feel like a fucking god on that TV show because all I have to do is be a bit nice to people and they think I'm the nicest guy in the world. I know that is... It's... Correct, yes. Please. Bluble that out? Okay. Okay, that's maybe what we can say on the live show.
Starting point is 00:35:46 Yeah, so basically, so we've managed to book these flights, but now it's 5 a.m. and we're flying, we're in Gatwick Premier Inn and we're flying from Heathrow at about one o'clock. Yeah. So I've now got to get... Kids are up. Starting to rise. We're desperately trying to not tell them that Disney's been cancelled. We're trying to, we're not using the word cancelled flight at any point to stress them out. We've shown them the film Chicago to get them in the mood. Yeah, exactly. Have you ever,
Starting point is 00:36:16 what's your thought on a deep dish pizza? Right. So, right. So now though, what we've got, because the other couple decided to book those flights as well, what we're now in the situation of trying to move, four adults, three, like under six year olds, a nine month old, nine suitcases, six little bags, and a buggy need to get moved from Gatwick to Heathrow at 6 a.m on a Sunday morning. Oh, my word. So that's, I'll go that th again th again th again, th again, th again, what th th th th th th th th, what we th, what we th, what we th, what we th, what we're th, what we're th, what we're th, what we're th, what we're th, what we're th, what we're th, what we're th, what we're th, what we're th, what we're, what we're, what we're, what we're, what we're, what we're, what we're, what we're, what we're, what we're, what we're, what we're, what we're, what we're, what we're th, what we're th, what we're th, what we're th, what we're th. th, what we're th. th. th. th. th, what we're th. th. th. th. that, what we're that, what we're that, what we're now, what we're now, what we're now, what we're now, what we're now, what we're now, what we're now, what we're that, what we're that, what we're that, what we're that moved from Gatwick to Heathrow at 6 a.m. on a Sunday morning. Oh my word. Oh my word. So that's it I'll go through that again. Four adults, a four year old, a six year old, a seven year old, a nine month old, nine cases, six bags and a buggy. So you call Eddie Stobart? I've put a request in, no, I put a request in, fine. I can get two black cabs, we've their their their their their their their their their their their their th. Wea, we're th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. that. that, that, that, that, that, to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to get, to get, to get, to get, th. So, th. So, th. So, th. So, th. So, I'll, I'll, I'll, th. Yeah, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, th. Yeah, I'll, I'll, I'll, I'll, th. Yeah, I'll th. Yeah, I'll th. Yeah, I'll that, I'll that, thr. thrown, thrown, thr-a'''a'a'a'a'a'a'a'a'a'er, thro'a'a'a'er, that, that, there's a black cab company put a request in, fine I can get two black cabs, we can all bundle in there, it should be fine. There's no, three black cabs, men, surely. No, well, I put it in.
Starting point is 00:37:12 Yes, accepted booking. Oh my God, I think I'm the best admin person in a crisis ever. Immediately email back, oh sorry, yeah, that's not available. Anyway, and then, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I put. the, I, I put, I put, I put, I put, I the, I the, I the, I the, I put, I put, I put, I put, I put, I put, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I. Well, I managed to ring the man that dropped us off, the driver that dropped us off the night before, I rung him, and because he dropped us off at 5 a.m. Yeah, but he dropped us off later. We were his first job when he dropped us off in the evening to the hotel. He's been out in London working, on his way home I called, and he called, and he called, and he called, and he called, and he, and he called, and he to call, and he, and he, and he to call, and he was, and he was, and he was, and he was, and he was to call, and he was to call, and he was to call, and he was to call, and he was to call, and he was going, and he was going, and he was to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the the to the the the the the the tho, and the the tho, and the the the., the the the the throoooo, the the the thooooo'eru. Hea, and the driver, and the driver, and get, so he did, he did our first and last job. Oh my word, what story he's got. And then the girl, Lou and our friends, went out to try and find a cab, but we were at
Starting point is 00:37:51 at arrivals so none of the cabs were allowed to pick us up. We had to go back around to the rank, some there and we got on the flight and it was, you know, but you don't calm down, you're so just like... Oh yeah, of course. Did you, was it time sensitive at this point? When you got to the airport? Were you worried? Yeah, so I was actually because, tell a time but Lou was losing right but we did but we had loads of time if the cab came now but I hadn't booked a cab so he's just like well there's no cab coming so it's like we've got the time but there's no there's no way to sort of get there yeah and I did not anyway so they did that and then we got to the airport got to the to the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the a the a the a the a the a the a the a the a the a the the the the the the the the the the they. as our gate came up the four-year-old pissed herself. Oh my god. She was so excited playing on this little soft play thing, she forgot to go, she forgets to the toilet. They don't want to go to the toilet. When they need to go to the toilet and you're like, do you need a wee? No, and you're like I know you need a wea. Yeah, you definitely need a piss. Yeah. Yeah, you. Yeah, you. Yeah, you. Yeah, you to piss. Yeah, you to. Yeah, to to to piss. Yeah, to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the to their their the the to to their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their to to to to to to get to to get to get to get to get their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their to get to get she she forget. She forgot, she forgot, she forgot, she forgot, she forgot, she forgot, she forgot, she forgot, she forgot, she forgot, she forgot, she forgot, she forgot, she's to to to to the the to to the to to the, that's one of my great pleasures in life. Having a piss!
Starting point is 00:39:05 Having a piss, it's great! Enjoy it! That's because they're having too much, that's because it's a break from your life. How good must your life be that having a piss isn't the best thing in it? How good is your life? My life's so good at the moment, I'm happy Maybe them old drunks aren't, you know, they're actually having a great time when they piss themselves in the pub. But yeah, but now we're in a Heathrow airport trying to find clothes for a child, there are no clothes. So we had to go to super dry. Oh my gosh, she wasn't super dry, am I right? And we bought her a size eight t-shirt she wore as a dress and a pair of woman of of of of of of of of of of of of of of of of thomen th thomen tied up with elastic bad. She flew to America on a nine-hour flight in women's grown women's niggers.
Starting point is 00:39:47 Oh my God, that is. So anyway we get on the flight, lovely flight, brilliant staff, and I did the most dad thing I've ever done. I was hugely stressed just obviously because I'd, you know, it'd been manic since 4 a.m and now it's like we're on a nine-hour flight now with kids and do you know what films I watched on that nine-hour flight? None. No. I just stared at the dark screen. What you just stared ahead just sort of just drinking? Yeah. Just stared ahead drinking. And then I... How are your friends with the with the baby on the flight that you were so...
Starting point is 00:40:26 This baby just sleeps. So basically what happened was the baby is so well behaved. Like I only said, I've got no funny stories about a nine month old baby on the holiday. That is unacceptable. I hate people with easy babies. I've got a funny story about the dummies. They took dummies but they forgot the dummy clip for the dummy clip you know like the little lanyard that clips the dummy on to a t-shirt so when they fry out the mouth it's still near them they forgot the dummy clip and went through 12 dummies he had to go to a he had to go to target in a taxi to buy more dummies oh my god so the problem so the problem the problem the problem the problem the problem the problem the problem so the problem so the problem so the problem so the so the so that so that so that so that so that so that so that so that so that so that so that so that so that so that so that's so that's so that's so that so that's so that's that's that's that's oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so the so so the so the so oh so oh so oh so oh so oh so oh so oh so oh so oh so the so the so the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the they they they they they they they they they they're they they they're they they they they they they they they they they're they're the nine-month-fold. Well because she kept just lobbying them because they were walking around so much around the park. So the only problem with the
Starting point is 00:41:06 nine-month-old was the parents not getting a dummy clip was basically the only issues. The baby just slept she was unbelievable. Honestly the easiest kid out of the lot. It's actually annoying it was annoying because it made you one another kid. Neither of our babies are chilled. Neither that that that that their their their their their their their their that that their their that their that their that their their that's that's that's their their their their baby is that's that's that's that's that that that that's their their that's that's that that that's that's toe. that's toe. toe. toe. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. their the. the. their their their the. their th so chilled. Yeah. That they just, the baby was in a bounce of a half an hour, on its own. Yeah. No, just fine. Fine.
Starting point is 00:41:30 Half an hour. So they, this nine-month-old, they're just sitting the buggy, just laughing. Fuck here. Fuck here. I heard a whole today. I had a cry. We were were in together basically for two weeks, once in two weeks I heard of. We were in the hotel room next to them, didn't hear it.
Starting point is 00:41:47 Oh my God. Oh my God. But anyway, another thing that's quite annoying when your flight gets cancelled. If you have it linked into your Apple wallet, you know like your little Apple wallet thing, it keeps popping up. Don't forget your flight. So that was the flight out. And the apple, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, the, the, they. they, they, they, they, the, their, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, I. Oh, I. Oh, I. Oh, I. Oh, oh, oh. Oh, oh, oh. Oh, oh, I. Oh, I. Oh, oh, I. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, the. Oh, the. Oh, the. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, the. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, the. Oh, the. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh update your app so that was the that was the flight out and then basically I oh no yeah so when I got to the airport I went to we checked him with urging went to BA I went to be a to. I went hello you've canceled our flight we couldn't speak to anyone because you
Starting point is 00:42:15 kept on hanging up on us I actually went to the first of a toa. the first of the desk and I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I to to to to to to to to to to to to the to to to the the to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the air the the the the air the the the air air the the air the the the air air the the the air the the the air the the the the the to to to to to to to the air the talk to someone about my flight. She went, yeah, queue up. I went, no, no, I just need to talk to someone like guest services. I don't need to queue up for check-in. She went, it's the only way to talk to someone. So I had to chew up. So I've queued up to check up to check into a BAE, even to to tell me because that's the problem if people cancel flights I you can argue it's late and I don't mind that that's just life right but what was it's the aftercare that pissed me off you don't hang up on someone when they're trying to reorganize it this and it's a
Starting point is 00:42:55 big family all day to Orlando there's kids on the you can't just strand people and they're not the their their their their can't just their can't just their can't just their their can't just their their their can't just their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their those others as well. And there was no way to talk to, if you're a Virgin, I had a special desk where you could talk to people and most airlines have that, BA don't know. What I think is, BA haven't got the staff anymore, I think they've just not got enough staff. And then so eventually I got to the front of the checking desk and said, oh, excuse me, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, our, the flight, the flight, the flight, the flight, the flight, the flight, the flight, the flight, the flight, the flight, the flight, the flight, the flight, the flight, the flight, the flight, oh, oh, oh, oh, the flight, th. the flight, their, their, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, the flight, and, the flight, the flight, the flight, the flight, th. the flight, the flight, the flight, their, their, their, their, their.. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their, their, their. their, their, their, their their their the make sure that the fly at home's still okay, because it doesn't let me on the website, click, reject the new fly and accept the return. Oh no, you can't have the return if you don't have the outbound. What? Yeah, I went, the outbound doesn't exist. So basically, I had to cancel the book it.
Starting point is 00:43:37 I went, well, I don't have put return on Virgin, but I can't do that now. I've just got a one way. Oh my God. Because I know, because you hadn't canceled the return. Oh my word. So now I'm there, so now I'm there for 20 minutes, even though we've checked in and I need to get through security, because I don't want to mate. If you're having some problems with consumer. Joe Lyser. Joe Lyser? He'll get him all-you out here. He'll bloody prang the whole lot of them.
Starting point is 00:44:11 Well, that's the thing. So you couldn't talk to him and then they did that. And then eventually they sort of semi-agre anyway, they do that and then, so then afterwards, and then I'm trying to basically, she wasn't, she didn't really convince me that that happened. You know when someone's a bit like, yeah, that's fine. I'm like, I don't feel like that's fine. So then I tried to email B- Twitter anymore, to log back into Twitter. So they sent me to Twitter. I wasn't going to tweet about it.
Starting point is 00:44:46 I tried to talk to an Instagram because the email address and the phone number, there's no email address, the phone number don't work, right? So I spoke to them on... So was there loads of other people the people that I've spoken to so far. Corrie, Rebecca, Alex, Jane, Neil, Oliver, Natalie Dillon, Imogen Daisy, Natalie M. And because whenever you send a message, someone else replies on like the direct message.
Starting point is 00:45:15 And I'm aware, a lot of people aren't even getting replies. But I think because I've got a bigger following the th are replying to me so I'm aware of that. So yeah so that was what's annoying me so I'm away I can't really get through to anyone and then at one point they go oh well let's sort this out that can we ring you and I said well it's a bit difficult because we haven't got good signal we're in and out of parks or on rides she went oh give us a time to call to the the the the the the the the the to the to to to to to the to to the to the to to the to to the to the the to the to to the to to to the the to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the try. I the the the the the try. I the the the the the the try. I the. I the. I the. I the. I th. America time because that's like midday English and then I get a message at half seven oh when's a good time to call you I was like well half an hour ago when you fucking agreed and then I get a phone call at half eight while we go for like the security at the park and lose on like a sky who's on like it's a small world trying to be a about a flyer and then we flew back and when we get to the air the air the air the air the air the air the air the air the air the air the air the air the air the air their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their to their to to to there to check in. What? So we get to the deck, there's probably about 100 people there.
Starting point is 00:46:07 We got there four hours before, which is very early, but we'd been kicked out of our hotel. Do you at any point start laughing at this situation? Well, I thought, well, you know what? I am technically here before. the checking desk always open, aren't they? But I looked it up and normally there is someone they're doing it from four hours before, right? And there wasn't anyone. Anyway, three hours to go, one person arrives to check in a plane of hundreds of people.
Starting point is 00:46:33 And there's three cues at this point. And there's one person checking in all three cues, which is stressful, because everyone's like, who goes, And then so, and then it's an hour to get from security. So I think a lot of people may have missed that flight because they couldn't get checked in. So anyway, we couldn't get checked in. And then we get on the plane and we get home, the baby seat pitch I'll talk about later. And once we're on the Virgin Flight, because this is nine hour flight.
Starting point is 00:46:54 There was nine hour. because it's a long journey. B.A. was just cups of water. So I don't know what's going on. I don't know if they're trying to become like an economy long haul. Have they taken a dislike you, Rob? I don't know. But I don't know. But it's all agency staff that they're the task fuck him up. Let's really fuck him up. There's no one checking in. There's no one checking in. There's no. There's the their their their their their their their one. There's their one. There's no one. There's their one one. There's no one one one one one one one one one. There's their one one one one one one one one. There's their one one one one one one one one one. their one one one. their one. their one. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they's. they's. they's. they's. they's. they's. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their................................................................................ Let's fuck him. But you know, but it's all agency staff that don't care. B.A. used to have lots of staff that care. So it was all agency staff checking them in. So when we were there, our friends who had a buggy, she said, oh, do you need to put the luggage tag on the baggage, but no, you don have done that to check it. So they don't really know what the rules are. So now a flight from Orlando, there's about 50 buggies, we're all, the flight home was delayed by half an hour, and then it got delayed by another half an hour because there's 50 buggies that need to be tagged up at the actual gate where you get on the plane........ the plane, the plane, the plane, the plane, the plane, the plane, the plane, the plane, the plane, the plane, the plane, the plane, the plane, the plane, the plane, the plane, the plane, th. that, that, that, that, that, their, their their their, their, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, th. th. There, the, the, thr-a' thr-a' that, their f' a their f-a' a tho' a tho' a f-a' a feteer, tho' a fa' a fete up now and I've done a fucking moany old woman.
Starting point is 00:48:10 How do you feel now? Stressed. Looking back on it. Anyway, so I don't, I hope that didn't just sound like a pretentious privilege ran. I enjoyed it. No it didn't. But it didn't. Because, yeah, anyway. I would say Rob. Yeah, listening to that, I didn't think this man's privileged. No point did I think him in his ivory tower. Fucking, I'll have the other half live, eh? That bit when you're both huddling in the bathroom of a premier in while your daughter sleeps trying to work out how to get to Heathrow, I didn't think, bloody owl. Starting point is 00:48:48 I was naked for the first 15 minutes because I couldn't find my pants. Because it's that hotel room you've bit discombobulated it's 4 a.m. They couldn't find my pants on for that but they were a bit shocked when I just did. They just thi tho' just just just just just just just just for that, but they were a bit short when I just did the... They may thought I was a 4 a.m. swinger. It's time. Let's start this holiday.
