Hello, Parks and Recollection fans. How are you guys? This is Jim O'Hare, Gary Laird, Jerry Terry Berry from the show, and I'm here with Greg, of course, our wonderful co-host.
As many of you are likely aware, our unions, the Screen Actors Guild and the Writers Guild of America, are currently on strike.
So every day, members of our two unions walk picket lines, making our voices heard, demonstrating what labor power looks like. And with good reason, because certain topics, you know, they make the headlines,
most especially AI and streaming.
But truly, this is about the health and the future of our professions.
Yeah, you know, Jim, an actor friend of mine said something once
that put the whole Hollywood pursuit in great context for me.
He said that when he first started out, of course, he imagined the
awards, the Oscars, the premieres, so on, all the things. But now he just wants health insurance.
Yes.
And I think about that a lot, especially since the strike began, because sure, I mean, what actor,
what writer doesn't picture the big successes, the acclaim, the glitz, and so on. But really,
at stake are our jobs being enough, enough to get health
insurance, to provide for our families, to have a middle-class life, just to live, you know?
Yeah, just to live. So with all that said, in solidarity with our unions, Greg and I have
decided to pause production of this show for the time being. We do believe that pausing is the best
way to support our unions and to bring you the show that you deserve.
Right.
And this isn't a goodbye.
We're just taking a break from making.
It's just a break.
From making and releasing new episodes until the dust settles.
Yeah.
I'm sure, as you guys can hear when you listen to the show, we have had a great time rewatching season four of Parks and Rec with all of you.
We've spoken to old friends.
We have heard from new friends in our town halls.
And we have had
many, many laughs, mostly at
each other's expense. Well, really
mostly at Greg's, I would say, which
is my favorite part. Okay, what?
Nothing. Okay. Go back
to being you, Greg. You do you. Okay, thank you, thank you.
Well, listen, we can't wait to wrap up Season 4,
dig into Season 5, and hopefully
it won't be long before we're back
with all new episodes.
As Leslie Knope says, sometimes
you have to make the hardest climb
to see the most beautiful sunrise.
God bless that Leslie Knope.

Yeah, Jim, you know, we normally
end our shows by saying goodbye from
Pawnee, but like we said, this isn't
goodbye, so I think it's
we'll see you soon. Yes, see you soon, everyone.
Bye-bye. Bye.
