Podcast is so fun and crazy.
And there's no rules.
Shut up, you all are winning this.
Break the ball, damn it, man.
I'm so sorry.
It's a comedy podcast.
This is an NPR.
That's the podcast done.
Is there any better show?
This is the original.
Original.
You know what, dude? Regional Regional Regional.
You know what dude, that's right, that was an OG. This is an OG episode.
I'm Robert Kelly, welcome to YKWD.
You know what dude?
Back again, Tuesday night and nine o'clock
from the laugh button comedy seller studios
above the world famous comedy seller.
I am so excited for tonight's show.
It's a special show because why I have the OG,
the guy who, I mean could have been my partner
through this whole thing.
Kutta, woulda shoulda,
but he told me to go fuck myself when I said,
hey, wanna do this together?
And he said, no, and then I talked to Billy,
dude, all your own stuff, dude.
And we didn't, but this is the guy,
everybody give it up for Joe DeRosa.
Yo, buddy.
What's up, pal? How you doing?
Joey Roses?
Get a while, man.
I don't really call you Joey Roses.
I do, because other people do,
but Joey D was my thing with you.
Yeah, yeah, it was always your thing.
Yeah, no shoulders, Joe. All right, come on. I mean. Yeah, yeah, it was always your thing. Yeah, no shoulders Joe. All right. I mean listen, dude
I mean, we all own our things
First of all, yes sir. Oh shit. I didn't say out of the gate you give me the first no no, it's not a first of all like that
I didn't say anything when I sat down. What happened to your face? Oh fuck you man. I just said something about your shoulders. No
My Scott would you do?
I there was a fucking in the backyard.
There was this fucking bobcat.
Okay, you don't believe that.
All right, here you go.
This is what really happened.
I woke up this morning and done.
My breakfast wasn't ready.
Yeah.
Right?
You want a fight?
Let's fight.
Her face would look like that, then.
Oh, you should see her face would look like that. Oh,
you should see her face. I was doing yard work and then I had a roll of chicken wire that I had
cut some off and you know the ends of it when you cut it. No, I don't. No, you've never done
anything with those hands except cook, brajole and finger fuck fucking young comics.
Those are finger fucking fingers if I haven't seen him. It's like I got me canceled.
All right, sorry.
I knew it was a young 40 minute.
It's in.
I should have just said young girls not comics.
So it's just a comics better.
You a finger fucking middle-aged women with freckles on the tits.
Middle-aged open bikers.
Yeah.
From Vegas.
Listen, yeah, dude, I threw some
chicken wire against the fence and it bounced off and just scraped my head. And I mean,
literally took a fat chunk out of it. Did it hurt? Yeah, it hurt. But I mean, I didn't,
the real, uh, my landscapers were there. I was moving shit for them.
So I, I wasn't crying. You know what I mean? I just went, eh,
how are we going to do? I was up and Don wasn't home. So I couldn't go
Don. Yeah. My head. That's so funny. And you're doing like the,
you're doing like the money Python, the blood is just streaming out of
your face. I'm fine. You're spinning. Just my hands shaking,
my hands shaking, My hands shaking.
I'm gonna find my side.
Yeah, that's good.
It was like, buddy, why don't you go get a bandaid?
I'm up fine.
Wrong accent, but yeah, it's more like, buddy, go get a, go get a, go get a, a, a,
go get a Monday, buddy.
But, yeah, holy shit, dude.
I mean, the reason I asked it at hurt is because for some reason,
not that I've done tons of damage to my face, but I find this part of the head,
it looks worse than it feels sometimes.
You know what I mean?
It bleeds like crazy,
but it doesn't hurt that bad.
There's not a lot of veins.
There's not a nerves up there.
That's why wrestlers slice their head.
Lot of blood comes out,
but not a lot of pain up there.
But I mean, it hurt.
It definitely hurt. But as soon as it not a lot of pain up there. But I mean, it hurt. It definitely hurt.
But as soon as it happened,
like these men were there, so and Don wasn't home.
And I saw, I was just like,
hey, those lilac bushes, buddy, you, you know, you're fucking,
oh yeah, I was good.
And it was going in my mouth and shit.
And I went inside and I cleaned it out with the stuff
that I always tell Max, it doesn't hurt.
It doesn't, it fucking hurts.
I was like, eh, I started screaming.
I got my mouth to it and numb my tongue.
Yeah, that shit kills.
It was fucking terrible.
And then I went to urgent care.
And this urgent care is great.
I don't know what people are bitching about.
I love it.
I mean, we don't have health care. Just go to. I love it. I mean, we don't have health
kids. Just go to a fucking urgent care. Well, if you don't have health insurance, it's still
it's a little pricey for the visit. Yeah, I guess, but I walked in, put you, put your,
you license up, it scans it. Yeah. And then some lady comes up, brings you in the back,
some hot pot of reek and girl brings me in the back, took my blood pressure. Yeah. Then
this old lady came up and glued my head shut. Oh me in the back, took my blood pressure. Yeah.
Then this old lady came up and glued my head shut.
Oh, wow.
You had to get the glue.
Oh, she glued it.
Yeah, I was fast.
I got that two crispances ago on my finger.
Oh, why would you cut in a ham?
I was making a salad dinner and I was using a, what's that slicer called?
It starts with a V. The one where it's the it's the it's the board, the plastic
board with V-shaped blade on it that you go. Yeah, I know what you talk about. It's called
a whatever. My dad's going be careful. Be careful. I go, I'm fine. Chop the tip of my
finger off. They had to they had to we found the tip of my finger on the counter and they
Fuck it grew back, but they
You measured it.
The fuck is that?
I spent all of Christmas day in the emergency room for in a half hours in the emergency room.
Christmas day, Miss dinner at my cousins.
Uh,
Uh,
Finger just pulsing dude.
I finally I was like, this is ridiculous.
I've had this bandage bandage on here for hours.
It's gotta be stopped bleeding by now.
I took it off.
I, there was a pool of blood underneath me on the floor.
Why would you do that?
But then they glued it, when they finally brought me
and they glued it shut and they glued like this,
like, piece of sponge to it.
Mm-hmm.
And they were like, that's gonna fall off eventually,
like a scab.
Mm-hmm. That's what happened.
I had a big one on my head, and it just
it fell off over the week.
Yeah.
And my head was glued back together.
It's crazy.
I mean, this thing was open.
Like, I opened it up, and you could see in my head.
Did you know, though, that you can buy that shit
in the fucking pharmacy?
Yeah, but did you know, though, there's no way I'm
fucking doing that by myself.
Oh, dude, I did it,
because I did it to my finger a second time.
Why?
Not on the same slicer on a knife.
I got these new knives and I came home,
tipsy one night and I was,
I made some cheese and pepperoni or something
and I was washing the knife off in the sink
and I, you know, you get knives,
you got to wash them immediately and dry them.
You can't leave them wet and was drying it my thought
Jesus all the way at the blade and I was bleeding so bad I went
To the 24 hour pharmacy and I got the stuff and you just put the glue on and it seals it right up
Dude and I was like, oh, well, I spent $1,500 to go to an emergency
Fuck me, dude. I did that with my thumb right here. I was I was making a,
you know, because bush crafting Bob. I was making a wooden spoon. Fuck you. I was making a wooden
spoon because that's what bush crafters do. They make a cup and a spoon. And I'm in my shed and
I'm making the spoon and I slipped and literally slid I'm always cut my thumb off.
You're YouTube channel hobbies.
Oh fuck you, you want a sandwich shop?
You fucking gocks on.
But you have like, well, you make things.
Yes.
I made a gun, a gun cabinet.
I know.
It was nice.
That was a nice gun cabinet.
And this is all instinctual.
This isn't something that, you know, I made a bookshelf.
I mean, this is in me to do.
What do you mean it's instinctual?
You are planned.
Like you cook, right?
That's in you.
That's not in most guys.
Most guys don't, most guys don't put passion into a sandwich.
Right, I should say that.
Most guys don't put passion on,
most guys get married and have a woman do that.
Right, we're a guy.
We're a guy.
Yeah, yeah.
But I, that's in you.
Like instinctually, it was just in me,
like my wife was like, I need a bookshelf.
So we went to Gotham cap, whatever the fuck that is.
It's like $900 for a bookshelf.
And I'm sitting there the guys like,
I'm like, go fuck yourself.
I grabbed on, I go, I'll make it.
She's like, what?
I'm like, I'll make it.
I went and bought the wood.
I came home.
I built the fucking bookshelf.
Now, does it have any flair to it?
Or is it just?
Dude, you want to talk flair.
Of course, it has flair.
Gold trim, blue background, and I put wallpaper on the back panel.
So there's a pattern, like a funky pattern on behind all the books.
Yeah, yeah, I put all kinds of, I put molding on the outside so it has trim.
It's beautiful.
I mean, it cost me $12,000 worth of lumber.
Yeah, what did it cost you to make in the year?
It was $17, $1700.
No, it is, no.
It was, look.
What did it cost?
I would say $400.
And then how many hours of man labor?
Two days, three days, because of painting.
But three days meaning four hours a day.
I would say four hours one day, two hours
the next, two hours the next. Nothing. Nothing. And my son has a bookshelf that his father made.
That's pretty cool. My son has a science lab table. I made him, my daughter was like,
I want to max have a science lab. Yeah. She was like, I want this. And I made a more science lab with, I mean, everything on it.
I said, she's my dad made. I cherished them.
Where are they?
He still has them in his attic. The orders of I don't have any
more is because they just didn't work in my department anymore.
Eventually, they were like a weird, it was weird shelving. It was
really cool and unique, but eventually got to a point where
it just didn't fit in anymore. Yeah. And I just, he, but he kept them. Everybody was like, where'd you get these? These are
crazy looking. I was like, my dad made them. Yeah. I mean, he was like that the way you
are. Can't cook. Well, he's not a terrible cook. You're not a terrible cook either, though.
I'm a messy cook. I cook. It's a fucking nightmare. So it's a nightmare when he cooks, too.
He'll touch raw fish. And then like pat
you on the back. And like, what the fuck are you doing? Yeah. Like my wife is a pristine
cook. You know, don's cooking. Yeah. She's a she's I mean, she's just great at it. I cook
once in a while. It's a it's a mess. It is egg on the floor. I when I make an omelette,
I made French toast is fucking shit everywhere. Yeah, but it's good though.
So taste good. It's good, but it's not as good as don't ones. She still makes good food.
You made that chicken catchatory one time. It was great. Hunter still. It's kitchen. It's chicken
catchatory. It's Hunter still is the original name for chicken catchatory. Oh my god. Can someone
look it up? Please? What? Can we turn that fan off? Can you guys hear the fan? Yeah, I'm dying right now. Oh, you need to turn it off. Turn it over towards you. I'm sorry.
Yeah. Can we turn that over towards Joe a little bit? What ancient recipe book did you get that out of?
Hunter stew. Yeah. Buddy. Hunter stew is chicken catch a Tory. No, I know, but look at what is it?
What is it called? Is it called hunter still?
Hunters still
Well, it says hunter. Yeah, because they I think they used to make it with rabbit or something, right?
No chicken. What read that to me on the mic?
Catchatory means hunter and a town boom catchatory means hunter
Can we not do this because I'm having flashbacks in my podcast? Why?
Which we do that every episode. We're like wait, what did come from? Oh, yeah, and then the proof is to read a
bone to pick with you. What?
What? I mean, listen, don't look at sad. I don't want to pick with you. Oh, I love it. Yeah, we got bones to pick you go first.
Yeah, I got a bone. I don't first want to
Hunter still. First of all, I don't like the way I
Said I got a bone to pick with you and yours came out like a bullet right after it because I forgot about it
So you just said that and triggered it. It really pulled it right out. Oh, it's gonna be good. Remember we are first of all people
Don't know this but the original YKWDs
We used to get heated. Yeah. A couple times. Yeah.
I mean, there's an episode I never put out.
Yeah, with Ted Alexander, we've talked about it.
I think on the show we've talked about it.
We've talked about it.
And I've tried to find it.
But Rob Sprance, I don't know where it is.
I have it somewhere.
And Rob Sprance, he lost it.
I don't know, but, dude, we...
It's out of a bitch.
You were yelling at Ted.
It was about Occupy Wall Street. It was about Occupy Wall Street.
It was about Occupy Wall Street.
The peak of the yelling is when he goes.
I go, you know, Ted, I get it.
You're somebody that gets the Occupyers and he goes, I am an Occupier!
He was heated there.
It was fucking in my living room of all places. Yeah, that department, too right on 47th. Yeah. Oh my god
The neighbors definitely heard that first floor apartment everybody that shit dude. We had the windows open
It was a I remember that dude. I remember Donby like it's everything okay like yeah fucking duro set Bobby relax
He's your friend. How's my friend. Is he?
How many times has Donna to say that to you? Everything's gonna be cool with you.
I mean, she said to say that about all my friends actually.
Fucking lunatic. I am. I'm right there with you, buddy. Okay. Listen to me. I have a bond to pick with you.
Yes.
This whole cell podcast you do.
This whole Sal podcast you do. We've done this.
We used to do this exact thing on the road.
Let me finish on the road.
I would call you up back in the day.
And be Denny's hash browns or potatoes.
Hash browns or bone fries.
We would do this all the fucking time, me and you.
We did do that sometimes, not all the time, but sometimes.
I mean, look, Patrice, if you times do I think.
Hip, hip, but me and you used to do it.
Yeah, that was definitely foodies that would talk.
I mean, dude, the sandwich shop, I mean, we used to get sandwiches.
I was there with you.
Yes.
I mean, we used to go, Amish Market, go over here for bread, go over there for cheese,
and we go to the thing, and we lay out there and we make sandwiches with the peppers and bava, and we need the sandwiches, the that style. And now you got the, I mean, you started a sandwich shop.
Aren't God bless.
Thank you.
Never been, first of all, never invited, except when I asked.
Invited, hang on.
Public play.
You're my friend.
Come.
Oh, that's okay, great.
I'm sorry, I'm busy training guys.
Hey, that's training guys, you're a friend
who inspired this sandwich shop with you.
Don't nod.
Let's not get carried away.
Listen, I was, I was, I love how much your bone is synonymous
with my bone.
Fucking your bone.
The bone that you're picking is so close to mine.
It's crazy.
That's why I started smiling.
But you can finish. Okay, mine, it's crazy. That's why I started smiling, but you can finish.
Okay, listen, here's the deal.
You, with the fucking back of this or that with Sal,
that was me and you did that all the time.
Yes.
And then I look on, now look at, I love the show.
You and Sal are hilarious.
I think it's a fucking great show.
Thank you.
But I still, I mean, look, I understand why you would do it with Sal over me too
Why I don't know maybe because he's fucking nine million times more famous to me and probably 20 million times nicer than he has a human being
Another year upset that we didn't you're talking about a podcast
We couldn't even get along on with when Ted Alex, Andrew came on with nothing to do with us that we were fighting. And you want to do a show where we fight on purpose.
It was real. We were real. No, it's a thing with sound. We got to take breaths afterwards.
We're real. We got to pace around. All right. So what you're saying is that if we did
that podcast together, it would last two episodes two weeks. Two weeks is two because
it would get personal. We get we do home fries, hash brownss and then we get to meatball or Italian sub and it be done
That's why I couldn't do a burr either. You know what the routes uh
There you go. It's your fucking little 11 scrunches up in your head
This is just like when we shot the movie and you fuck
All right, dude. Oh my god. Holy shit. I just got mad
Good bill
It's a good bill. You know what. You're the guy. He was sending. He Burr was sending. I love we love Burr, but he was sending. Yeah. Those were gonna say some
we're gonna try to your friend doing love Burr best. But he was sending sound text messages
about my argument about chips of hoi once
Yeah, and the arguments he was making in support of Sal loving Oreos against me were so burr that when Sal read them to me
I got angry and then I had Sal read them on the air and I said I said
Congratulations you have you have that dysfunctional ginger on your side
Or something like that or we're you. Or I was just joking, obviously.
But like I was getting so upset at these because they were so, they were like, this is
what the rose it does, dude.
He fucking takes an adversarial stance.
And you have Billy.
Mother fucker.
Billy has a file on everybody.
He has a file.
This would probably die, dude. He fucking, he comes in. He eats himself and fucking makes himself a planet
And then he gets into shape and then he gets some stuff and then he buries himself a photo again. That's what he does.
I know you keep. I know you. You're gonna come down. You're gonna talk all you shit. Then you're gonna drive off with nobody's looking. I know you've asked you stay.
Are you coming with your dumb hats and your confidence,
but you're really crying inside boss.
That's why you're crying.
Oh god.
Really just crossed the line.
I have to believe.
Billy is a fucking assassin.
He has Bill dossier's on all of us.
Yes.
He goes, it hits a button and there's a file like a matrix.
Like we're just going off the cuff with shit.
This guy is like, Bobby, remember that time in 1992
when you and Dane walked into the fucking laughing hot
and Brockton mass and you came in and you said,
fucking nice jacket, bag.
And remember that?
And I said, what?
I don't know what I was saying.
I would never say that.
What happened?
Oh my God.
Boss will be like that too.
Boss will sit there quiet.
You'll go, you'll get like a harmless jab in on him.
Just because we'll say something painfully dumb.
Yeah.
I love boss by the way.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I was like, we love, we love every day. But I'll say something, payfully dumb and you'll go, ah, shut up, you fucking moron.
I'll go, yeah, is that because you're mad?
Because you only get 1,500 when you go for the weekend
and I get five, like, oh my God.
You don't jump right into it.
And you're, yeah, boss, how long has that been
pent up inside of you?
Yeah, boss, boss does snap.
He snaps, you gotta be careful with, with all boss.
Yeah. I love keen. He just goes
ad-deserve it. Yeah he stinks. Yeah he sucks. I call them in the down on duo because I like
to see him. Yeah. And he's sitting there with a big window behind them. He's like, I'm in my
penthouse. And then I just see a fucking freight train we graffiti drive by second floor asshole.
A four story apartment.
Yeah, he's not on a penthouse.
You have a fucking cold train going back in.
I was in the ghetto.
Yeah, I told him your building is so broke they couldn't afford a regular amount of
floors.
They got to floor and they had to stop.
Yeah, there was a dumpster behind me like lawn broken lawn chairs that the people didn't
throw in the dump there.
Fucking stinks.
It was a old fan.
Oh, he sucks.
He's outside right now.
It's just a bunch of Honders outside.
Is he outside?
He said he was going to come up, but he's not getting up.
He ain't getting up those stairs.
He was not coming up to dumb Bobby's box.
He ain't coming up.
He's outside right now.
He's probably with Marina right now, Rubin. No, it's Marina him and Sh's pocket. I ain't coming up. He's outside right now. He's probably with Marina right now rubbing her neck.
Marina him and Sharada. I'll sit together outside. Oh, that's funny. I got a nice trashy walking by and then I'll get one on the way out.
Keith, let me text that fuck. You stink. You stink. Tell him I said it, too. That'll make him real mad. Oh shit, that just came in. I had it on the voice thing. That's the tell my son of that. We're making real mad.
You stick hang on from me and Joe.
Yeah.
So I so listen, that's, I mean, my, my,
my bone is that, I mean, look, I understand.
I mean, looks, I think you and Sal, I may get it,
but I mean,
it's not like I remembered. I Sal, I may get it, but I mean, it's not like I remembered
having similar debates.
I did.
And then said, let's do that, Sal.
I did.
Just Sal and I would have those debates a lot
and then one day, Sal said, this should be a podcast
that we did.
I'm just saying that me and you used to do that.
Right, right.
But I've done it with some other friends.
Okay, so, all right, so maybe, okay.
So you,
I'm not saying you're not special.
So you dated me, but you dated other people too.
Yeah. Okay, great.
What's your bone then?
Now that you've defused my bone.
I'll tell you my bone.
Oh shit, I don't like your confidence going in here.
I'm a little nervous.
Mine is a, mine is a throw a gauntlet down.
You can't even fucking argue with this.
Get the fuck out of here.
Tech talk, you motherfucker.
What's that? You, what's, you motherfucker. What's that?
You, what's that?
Yeah.
What's that?
What's that?
Tech talk with Bobby and Friends.
No, it was Tech Talk with Bobby and Joe.
It was our segment that we did that I had to help explain
to the guests that came onto the show because nobody got it
except us because it was our things.
We were techies and then you just took it and just do it now.
You just do it as a show.
Yeah, I prove it.
It's on your Patreon.
Yeah, but no, the original one.
Hold it up.
Please pull it up.
Tech talk with Bobby and Joe exists.
Remember the song, Tech Talk with Bobby and Joe, and that was the bit that you could never
sing it.
Yeah, and then you left my life.
You moved to LA, got a bike.
My mother got cancer, and I had to move home. You rat bastard.
That's why I left you brought in cancer. How dare you just
fuck it and the whole thing. I just reverse bird. Wow, I
just reverse bird it. I just saw sad for myself. Oh my god. Holy
shit, what a kick in the nuts that was.
I know.
Dude, we got equal bones as my brother.
I'm gonna say this with the tech talking by me and Joe.
Dude, you went away.
That was our thing.
It would, but you went away.
But it wasn't like you know what dude and I left.
That was our thing.
Let's just be honest.
Can we be honest?
Take another sip.
So we get more honesty out of you. This is honest syrup. We're just be honest. Can we be honest? Yeah. Take another sip. So we get more honesty out of you.
This is honest syrup. We're not even close. You don't know how dark it is these days. Good.
Now, good. Dude, yeah. You, I, let's be honest, I offered you, I said, dude, do you want to go hang on before you fucking put the hand down?
What the fuck is down? I want you to rephrase that. I offered you. Don't stop me going to
sound like your Disney plus. All right. You said, do you want to do this for free? No, I
didn't. I said, you want to go partners in this half 50, 50 being you do the We like it WD. I was nothing to split because it was the first podcast to start
I he says we
Well, I mean I started it
All right, listen, I got the equipment. I started doing it me and you did it together
Yes, and it became and it me and you were doing it all the time now
I know and then no real equipment back then by the way It was like you to buy mixer. I know, I know. And then nobody's real equipment back then, by the way.
It was like you had to buy a mixer.
I had to buy everything.
I bought it off a Todd Lent.
Yeah, you had to buy like, you fucking scam me.
It was like a grand at least to start a podcast back then
because you had to really buy.
Yeah.
You had to buy like the, what are those mixers called?
God, I haven't fucked around with that shit
in so long.
The Mackey boards.
Yeah.
You had to buy the Mackey board and the shore mics.
There were no such things as cheap, good mic.
Nope.
You're the one who said do get the shoe off 58.
Yes.
The most, I don't know, you gave me a speech.
They're the workhorse.
Yeah, you the workhorse to piss you off when I say that.
Yeah, because it pisses me off now
when you call it the workhorse.
Was I right?
You're absolutely right.
But yeah.
What fucking friend in the late 20s, early 30s, dude is the workhorse. Was I right? You're absolutely right. But yeah, what fucking friend in the late 20s, early 30s, dude, is the workhorse.
This is the microphones. You asked it was one of the only things I
knew anything about. Well, here's the thing is I said to you,
let's do this together. And you said, now when I said that, I
actually was like, look, I told my wife, I had my girlfriend at
the time, was she my wife, maybe my wife. I said, look, I wanna,
I said, I think I wanna do this with Joe,
and I wanna do it fair.
I don't wanna just, I wanna do it me and him together.
You know, I wanna offer him,
I wanna offer him, like, let's do this together.
Like, it won't be Robert Kelly's WIKE WD,
you know what, dude, it'll be Joe and blah, blah, blah,
you know what, dude.
And, and,
I don't remember it, to be honest. You said to you know what dude. And and I don't remember it to be honest.
You said to me and you rejected me.
I don't remember that.
I you rejected me.
If if rejecting you is my mom's cancer, no, no, no, no, no, this is
a fucking cancer.
I stopped saying cancer.
I didn't move my mom because she stopped saying cancer.
What the fuck with the cancer?
You didn't move then.
You were still living in bars.
No, I left the podcast when I went home to my mom.
No.
Stop, I said, I can't do this right now.
I gotta go home for a few months.
And I said, and after that, I might move to LA.
But then I didn't, I moved right back.
No, what is it?
See, I can't fucking question that
because you said cancer.
Good.
I'm pretty sure you said to me,
first of all, cancer was never in the thing.
When you stop, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
And the reason you said you didn't wanna do it
was like, yeah, dude, I don't know if I wanna,
I don't know, I still do with you,
but I don't wanna do it. I don't wanna be committed to it all the't know I still do with you, but I don't want to do it
I don't want to be committed to it all the time that I remember but in my
I you broke my let me just finish okay, you broke my heart
Because I thought you were gonna be like yeah, man. This is I would love to in my and you
Joe
You it was like like this girl thought you thought you loved you.
And she's like, yeah, now I'm gonna go, I'm gonna go to prom with fucking Mikey.
Well, that's, let me tell you why that's not quite fair.
Why?
I didn't leave to go do another podcast.
This, there was a time when you couldn't make a dime-off podcasting, not you, anybody.
Yes.
It was just a hobby that was fun to do.
Yes.
You were very serious about it and I was not.
And I knew that our dynamic, given the fact of my interest
at that time versus your interest,
was gonna end very tragically.
What is the fuck does that mean, lawyer, Joe?
What is your interest in my interest?
I'm saying at the time, you were very passionate
about doing podcasts without the money.
And what were you?
I just saw it as like, it's a fun thing to do, I guess,
but I'm not that into it and Bobby's really into it.
And if I jump it on this full time,
it's going to be too much of a commitment.
And there was no end goal to that commitment to me.
It was like, we're going to end up doing this thing together
and we're going to start fighting.
And why would we do that?
It doesn't make any sense to me.
It was a different time.
It was not to say, oh, you do it for the money now or whatever.
But at least now you say, oh, well, you can make merch.
There's ways to compensate your time.
You get that.
I swear you stopped right there.
Now that you brought money into it.
No, it's not.
No, no, no, no, no.
Because the money wasn't even an option. I understand. But now that you brought money into it, imagine if me and not. No, no, no, no, no, no. Because the money wasn't even an option.
I understand.
But now that you brought money into it,
imagine if me and you did it together from that point.
It would be over right now.
I don't understand what part of that you don't get.
We would have fucking, you think we would have,
it would just be done.
Me and Burr were going to relaunch on inform
that he called me and he's like,
there was a, let's be honest.
And I was like, you're right.
Forget it.
We ever said anything.
Have fun.
There's just, we're going to kill each other.
It's fine.
I love being.
You're one of my favorite people.
I know I agree.
I agree.
Listen, if there's anybody that I've fought with
in this business verbally, it's you
Amber I think you and burr us three and Norton. I thought what norin?
I'm just I'm joking, but I was I was taking a wild guess. I mean I've fallen on a couple times
So I'm actually I've never yelled at soda
ever
Ever and Lewis go mess Low everybody should fight with Lewis.
But the Lewis Gomez, you brought him into the fucking next.
No, my two, honestly, my two are you in burr too.
Yeah, you're my, we've had fights that are just earth shaking.
Yeah, arguments.
I fought so much for you in burr.
I was like, I can't be friends with anybody from Boston anymore.
It'll be bad. I hate it, Philly, for seven, seven years. Yeah, you get to say, I was like, I got to keep a safe distance from DiPolo, Louis. I got to put a guard up here. No, but it's, uh, we were
just fiery. Look, man, before all the listeners and fans and everybody
think that we were psychos or whatever, you know, obviously we had 10
person, all that stuff. And we were irrational in our own ways. And we all had
our faults and blah, blah, blah. And I only now in recent years was able to
start looking back and realizing how clunky I was at that age. Honestly, because I never, you don't realize it
when you're in it.
When you're in it, you can't see it.
There's a lot of stuff that I said to you
or Bill in that time where I was like, wow.
And I've now talked to people that are my age,
that now that I was then, that say similar stuff,
and I go, you'll understand in a few years why that's fucked up what you just said.
Right.
You know what I mean?
Like, I don't understand it with wisdom or anything.
I just say it like you're just, you just, you just don't get it right now.
And I understand that because I was, I was that way too.
But I'll say this, our fighting was much more than just short tempers and character flaws. It was, we were thrust into three extremely intense
hyper work situations back to back to back.
And that is what really hit fast forward
on all the emotions in the fight.
I mean, yeah, I mean, if we could go back,
I would wish, you know. I mean yeah I mean if we could go back I would wish you know I mean the
all that stuff was pretty amazing. Yeah. But if we could go back in time I would do I would
definitely do things differently. Of course. Because you know I mean the movie was fucking ex we
started out it's so funny how it always starts out very
simple.
And it always starts with just a creative seed.
Like let's just be creative.
Like nobody wants anything to do with us.
Nobody's saying yes, let's just make our own thing.
It was wild.
And then from that little thing, this thing blossomed into a lot of shit. It was wild because the three of us had,
I mean, it wasn't that we had nothing going on, but we did not have anything going on that we
have now. It was Burr's idea. It was Burr's idea. He was the one that was like, let's fucking do
this thing because why are we waiting for them to give us a TV deal? Yes, it was Burr's idea. It was Burr's idea. He was the one that was like, let's fucking do this thing
because why are we waiting for them to give us a TV deal?
Yes, it was Burr's idea.
And then he, but I remember the day we came up
with the original idea with me and you.
And the diner, yeah.
And then we had Burr's food out.
We're not eating.
Yes, what was I eating?
You had a salad with a chicken breast on it
and an egg on top because you were just starting
to get into like the keto.
Oh, fuck, I'm such a fat fuck.
You're not a fat fuck.
Oh shit.
What?
What was that?
Everybody watching rewinds.
You stared at me because you were waiting for me to go,
all right, you're a fat fuck.
You're not a fat fuck.
You went, wow.
You're not a fat fuck.
I can't say a nice thing to you.
You're not a fat fuck.
You're not a fat fuck. Say it with me, Bobby. You're not a fat fuck. You're not a fat fuck say it would be boppy
Dude
God damn it you're a little glip quivered. You gave me a towel. You have a look
That's terrifying even with a compliment you're like is he mad? I mean, no, I don't know what I just did
That's terrifying even when I compliment you, but because you mad at me now,
I don't know what I just did.
No, listen, we were at that time,
or I remember you ate that.
I remember you ate that.
Yeah.
And you, and you was your idea.
Yeah, the plot of the movie was your idea.
Well, no, it was you because you were asking me advice.
You were asking me advice.
You wanted to fucking cheat on your girlfriend.
Oh, no, that's not.
I turned the movie. It is. It doesn't say based on true events at the beginning
So I mean come on
I know he gives a shit. I'd never cheated you have a girlfriend now. No, I fuck gives a shit
We all cheated yeah, I know I know I know I know book on cheating
I know it's in the book listen
I mean that was basically you were trying to get some nookie on the side

And you said, dude, we do it like a gangster.
We do it like a heist movie, except it's about planning your cheat.
And me and Burr will be the guys that teach you what to do and plan the, you know, we're
the blueprint guys, whatever.
And I remember, do you remember the first and the first, it was so funny.
The first draft of it was 43 pages longer.
It was crazy how long it was.
Yeah, it was so long.
We got it down to 18 somehow.
Yeah.
And then everybody put money in and then, and then Lou Wala came in and the fourth guy we
needed.
Right.
But I'm just on the other night.
Actually, we had a lot of drinks a lot of time.
I can sue us for 10G.
He didn't sue us.
He didn't sue us.
Jerry did.
He muscled us.
No, we got the deal.
We got the, we got a deal.
And he said, I would appreciate it because if this had,
we'd have to film.
I have no problem with that.
I mean, 10G.
Well, we made what we made on the book and also the pilot
after that. And he got out of that 10 and we wouldn't have been able to finish the
movie. I think it was very fair. I think you're right. Very rare. You're right. Knowing the
business now. Yes. That's supposed to back that it was just like, do give me 10G. But get
the fuck out of here. Yeah, we were young. But this is what I mean, dude. We were so young, we didn't understand.
What the fuck is so much me?
We're so much me, 10G.
I think it was more than fair, honestly.
I think it was a very appropriately fair.
Yeah, no, it is.
I don't know one of the things I'm joking.
But my point is, is he came in, right?
And then all of a sudden we had the money.
Yeah.
And I was so fucking broke at the time
I remember my opening joke at that time was because it was right after Christmas. We started working on it
Right, and I remember I'll never forget this my
I was standing outside of my parents townhouse in collegeville, Pennsylvania
Really lived at the time and I was talking to Keith
It was a few days after Christmas and I was talking to Keith on the film
And he's like what's wrong young fella and I go I'm gonna quit the business
And he goes why and I go I have nothing and he goes you two young to quit
You know, and I was like I'm 10 years in I got nothing to show for it. I can't get a break
I can't get I just can't get a fucking break like I'm done. I can't do this man, I can't get, I just can't get a fucking break, like I'm done. I can't do this, man, I have nothing.
I had nothing.
And my credit card debt collectors calling me
on Christmas Eve that year.
Oh God.
They asking me for the money.
My opening joke, so I remember I did 51st jokes
was a show they used to do in New York,
where once a year right after Christmas,
it was right after New Year's, excuse me,
they would have 50 comics come
and tell their first joke of the New Year that they wrote.
That was the show.
And I remember my first, the joke I did on that
and my opening joke for that whole year was,
I'm 30, whatever years old,
and I just had to get proactive for a dulled acne and if that's not depressing enough my dad had to pay for the proactive
That's how broke I have fuck and it whatever so
With something like that I remember but anyway, at least you had a dad
My dad I never saw on the I want to like died good my mom had ever saw on the other one I like died. Go ahead.
My mom had cancer. Yeah. She survived. Go ahead.
You know what? I wish she didn't right now.
She's right. She didn't survive.
Joseph. What the fuck, bro? What the fuck?
So I can roll salt in the wood. Take it back.
It's bad. I's back. It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back.
It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back.
It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back.
It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back.
It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back.
It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back.
It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back.
It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back.
It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back.
It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back.
It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back.
It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back.
It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back.
It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back.
It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back.
It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back. It's back. It's just a terrible thing to say. I know. The reason I love comedy is just awful things like that.
But later in life, it's just like Jesus Christ.
But she or my sheet, no, my sheet.
No, it's fine.
Yeah, I got it.
She's fine.
Anyway, I had nothing.
And we started that thing.
And once we had the money up,
remember we sold it to Comedy Central
and then we broke the deal?
We didn't sell it to Comedy Central?
We did, they put a deal on the table for it
and they wanted us to break it up into segments
as episodic and we said no.
And we were able to get out of the fucking deal
that we had already started or agreed to
because they had changed what the
initial deal was.
Yes.
And that's when everybody was like, we got to put our own money up and I was like, our
own money. Are you fucking crazy?
Yeah.
Like a thousand dollars to my name.
Yeah, me and Berber were like, fine.
Yeah.
We got the money.
And then Luke came in, gave us the remainder.
We gave you.
No, because I ended up throwing in on top of Lou.
We all on the throw in about two grand eventually.
It was three grand each.
No, it's 2500 each.
It was 25, 25, 25, and I think I threw in.
This is why we fight by the way.
Why?
Because I know it's three grand.
Three grand each and Lou put gave you a three grand.
You had no money.
Can you give me my three grand?
He had his own ownership of the thing.
He, you didn't have the money.
The only reason why we went to loo,
the only reason why loo,
that might be,
we didn't, we didn't want loo,
but we needed loo for you.
So then on top of what loo threw in for me,
I threw in another two grand on credit cards and,
and, okay, yeah, whatever.
That was probably true.
That is, I swear to you, that's true.
All right, I believe you. And then we started, and then we yeah, whatever that was probably true. That is just swear to you. That's all right
I believe you and then we started and then we started calling in favors. Yes, we win.
Colin Quinn said yes. I'll do a part rich boss said yes. I'll do a part of my McFarlane.
It was awesome. It was amazing. Yeah. Rich was mediocre at best. I mean, God damn it.
You know, we got that's where I met Andres.
The director of photography, just an incredible guy.
Like we, we, Andres Caru, if you ever need a DP,
he's a great guy to hire.
But anyway, and we shot that thing,
and you and I were just being wrapped by Jim Cerepico
who were his first two clients over to Possible
with Dennis Leary.
Yeah.
And we showed Jim the movie.
Yeah.
And he goes, I think this is great.
I think it's got some legs.
Yeah.
You got to get it down to 15 minutes so I can submit it to festivals.
And we cut it even more down more.
And it worked.
And then it had a whole different ending on it.
Yeah.
And then we had to make the decision to cut it at the end where I'm crying.
Yeah. Which actually was very funny ending on it. Yeah. And then we had to make the decision to cut it at the end where I'm crying. Yeah.
Which actually was very funny. What awesome. Yeah.
So, um, and we got a, I remember I went to get up and Billy
pushed me back down. That's not so great.
It was such a funny little dramatic sad scene. Yeah, that you get
up and then Billy, bro, it'll brutal, brutal, brutal, brutal.
Yeah. Yeah. It's fucking great. Yeah. Hey, man, I joined that
gym. So I see you around. Yeah. Hey man, I joined that gym
And then try Becca. Yeah, and then Serpico sends it to try Becca and he goes try Becca I'm once it to premiere there and then it got nominated got nominated and me and you one of my greatest
Fucking days in my career. Well me and you went to the Tribe Backer opening with Larry and somebody else
was there.
And you think it's me, you, Larry and Tom, wasn't it?
Well, no, it's just me and you.
Larry was presenting De Niro.
Oh, De Niro.
No, it's Josezi.
It's Josezi was there.
Josezi was there.
And Alton John.
And Alton John, and we were on the West Side Highway.
We sat down.
We were in.
We went up and said,
I got my little Tribeca hoodie, which I still have.
And we sat there and watched that.
I was like, fuck, we're in the festivals.
And then we went to the parties.
Remember the party where Bill was like,
there was those two old gay guys dancing.
And he goes, I'll give you a hundred bucks cash
right now, you go dance with them.
And I literally went over and I disco dance with them.
Like a little twink.
And then I came back, took the money and went home.
Yep.
And then we, that was the same party we're sitting next to Kelly Ripa.
Kelly Ripa.
Yes.
This is fucking, it was nuts.
And then you weren't with us.
You weren't with us for whatever reason.
But when it got nominated for the award,
we went to the award ceremony.
We're in a room with 50 other people who were nominated for other things.
We didn't win, but and De Niro was the final presenter.
Like I stood like 10 feet from De Niro and it was like, it was like, you know,
still like look like heat De Niro.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
It was like, not now.
Oh man, I love this.
But, you know, but I was just like, holy shit, this is crazy man.
And I was crazy.
And then you guys also weren't there in opening night
for the first screening, but I was there
and it was 10 short films, we were 10th.
They put us last because we were basically
the only comedy.
We were there, remember Bonnie?
We went, you guys came to a different screening. I think I have video of that. Yeah, that one was like the second comedy. We were there. Remember Bonnie? We went, you guys came to a different screening.
I can say a video of that. Yeah. That one was like the second night of very first night
at screen because it screened many times at the festival. The very first night screened
was a Friday night. You guys weren't there. You were out of town. Yeah. And I went and I
was, I was petrified. These kids from Comedy Central was shooting a documentary about comedy, and I was in the documentary,
and they were at my apartment,
which was Burr's apartment,
that I was renting from him,
shooting me, getting ready to go to the premiere
of this short film.
And I was like, I was beside myself nervous
because it wasn't a show that was out of our control.
There was no control.
It was, why would you be nervous, though? It's in the five of our control. There was no control. It was,
why would you be nervous though?
It's in the five,
because there's no control.
There's no going this audience stinks,
there's no going whatever.
Oh, you're worried about if they're not gonna like it or not.
They're gonna think it sucks.
And I had the program and it was 10 short films,
and we were 10th.
And it was like, Jesus Christ, man.
You gotta be kidding me, we're last.
And we sat through all the films, they
were great and then it got to ours and I was like, please, please just like this, please.
And it got to the first laugh or the first joke I should say in the movie where it's all
set up and it's all sinister and dark and it's like we you
call the guy and we're going to meet over here and it's all shady and you know what I mean?
Yeah, I know the part and then I was in it and yeah, yeah, and then and then it so so what do we
got here? What's the plan? And my my girlfriend's out of town. I really want to cheat on her.
That was like the first joke. Yes, and it got this huge laugh and I was like holy shit.
And then it just fucking it was a hammer. It killed man. It was laugh and I was like holy shit and then it just fucking it was a hammer it killed
man it was like and I was like it was such an amazing moment in my life because I just it was dude
I'm telling you dude I was this fucking close two months before that to walk in I would I
literally was gonna hang it all up and to be sitting there at that moment with new management right
I literally was gonna hang it all up and to be sitting there at that moment
with new management, new agents,
and this movie screening at this thing
and seeing the audience packed full laughing and whatever,
and then getting nominated,
it was such a game-changing moment in my entire life
and I owe it to you and Bill.
So I thank you for that.
Wow, all right, wow. I bet you didn't know that's where it was going.
Didn't know where it was going and I was about to say something.
I had a zinger in the can.
No.
And you just shit.
I love you.
You're what?
I love you.
Oh my God.
That was a huge thing.
You guys saved my, you guys saved my career.
I'm fucking.
You saved my career. Sit there in that
I
I love you
I
I don't know what to do.
Right. What the fuck is going on?
It's going on.
Just to share them up.
Listen, Joey, I'm going to tell you something right now.
I'm a, I can get to the idea.
I was saying right now,
Keith McKean was both in the cut right now.
If he was up here, he had two fucking sissy boys, right?
And the right in the cut.
Listen, buddy, that thing I look back on it now, I
look back on that whole thing. In the last year, I've done
so much things personally, because all the fun toys and
all the calm, everything was taken away, right? So I had to, I
really, I mean, I was nervous as fuck, right? And I went
back into whatever I do, you know,
to self-help type.
And I look back on that stuff, that time.
A lot of things like that.
And I'm like, fuck.
I was too worried about fame or success,
or my own success, that I didn't enjoy my friend's success
and I didn't enjoy these moments as much as I could have.
Not to say that I didn't,
because I do have fond memories of that night we all went.
And I was there for that, try back a crowd.
The night that they killed Osama bin Laden.
It was crazy too.
Wild to be in the bar after that.
And we killed Osama bin of them on the butt.
The fuck is going on right?
That was crazy.
It was wild, right?
And I remember that line too, when we're in that theater, I have video of all of us,
Bonnie, Voss, Serp, Burr, I mean, we're going in line to see this movie.
And I remember being in a rubah when the book deal came in. uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, That's a shame. This movie that we wrote was the one that the full length movie was great.
I thought it was great.
I thought it was really a cool.
Wait, let's circle back to that.
Okay.
Because I just, I want to make sure I don't glaze over something.
You're not going to tell me you love me again.
No, no, no, that's a cry.
I'm like for another 20 years.
All right, 20.
Yeah.
What the fuck?
I have 20. That's it again till I years. All right, 20. Yeah. What the fuck? I have 20.
That's it again, Tom broke and I need three grand.
Okay.
No, but the, no, but because I want to reference something that I said earlier,
we got so the movie did very well.
Very well. It tried Becca.
And then we got a book deal with Simon and Schuster.
They said this would be a really funny sort of bathroom reader book like a very funny book about
how how to cheat and we'll make it look like a blueprint guide and whatever.
And that was great and we wrote that.
And then we also got an FX deal where they said we don't like the idea of the movie,
but we like the three of you together. So let's develop something
Is that what happened because I always get that confused in my head because I know
What we were doing was so off the book
Yes, right. Yeah, but the movie was I mean the TV show was was they said they liked the three of us together
Then then we came up with this idea
That was I mean we came up with this idea that was, I mean, we came up with like,
God, I mean, look, for as much as you can complain about like network notes and they don't
get it and all this, effects really gave us a lot of tries to get it right.
And we just, for whatever reason, it never worked.
But it was going to be this thing.
Remember, we were going to be the three brothers that were adopted from Hell's Kitchen.
It was called three aces.
We had a social club called the three aces.
And it was all about the neighborhood, the old Italian neighborhood being gentrified by like cupcake.
There was a bowdag in the front.
Yeah.
And it was going to be us being shady and doing all these deals and whatever.
But we're at odds with all these like vegans shops and whatever the fuck.
The cupcake place next door.
Yeah.
There was a whole, I remember the whole fucking the fuck the cupcake place next door. Yeah. Yeah, there was a whole I remember the whole fucking scene
Mm-hmm with the cupcake. Oh
My god. Yeah, remember that you wrote that whole scene where he's was like a slow motion
And he was like a dream sequence where you went in and shot up the entire
Yeah shot everybody killed everybody. Yes, terminator stuff. Yeah
And then and I remember memory then then we wrote a different version of it where there was a lady in town
It was bullying me and she beats the shit out of me at the end
Never it's like a big street fight at the end like at Rocky 5 and I fucked up like this lady and she beats the living shit out of me
What the fuck so?
But we had these three things which now the book and the TV show pop the pilot would never shot but the script deal.
Those paid money up front some.
They did some a lot but you have to get some and then you got some more later.
The movie paid nothing it cost a lot.
To or at the time was a lot and and and it's still a lot, $10,000 is a lot of money.
So we went from a situation where we were all putting up money
that you guys kind of had, I definitely didn't have.
Then we got a book deal and it was money
that seemed like a reprieve and it's, you know,
oh, this is so great.
And then it's like 25 G.H.
Yeah, but you got, it was like you got, you get a third so great. And then like 25 G each. Yeah, but then, well, but you got,
and there it was like you got,
you get a third now and a third, whatever.
Yeah, we had to give loose some of that too.
And it was like, and then you start,
and you think it's amazing, you think you're rich,
and then you start writing the book,
and you're like, what the fuck did we get ourselves into?
This is horrible.
Dude, writing a book was a mother's fault.
It was horrible.
And then we got the TV thing in the midst of that,
and then we're trying to rewrite scripts
and burrs in LA and burr starts really taking off.
And then something like a theater guy and like and the tensions of the tensions of I can
only speak for myself, me where I was coming from and I was wrong.
But just being an immature kid and being like the low man on the totem pole, the guy with the least money, the guy with the least
cloud, definitely, uh, being a tenant of burrs. You know what I mean? You, you, you get so
insecure because you just feel like everybody's over you. And because on top of the friendships, you're getting notes and whenever. And it was just like, it was just, it was, that was a really, really tense
year. I mean, I remember I got to a point with Bill where he goes, dude, if we ever fight like
this again, we can't be friends anymore. I mean, dude, I had a point for us. I fought with you
like that. I fought with Bill like that too. But it was, you
know, for me, it's like I'm coming off a tourism. Right. And it's like, you know, that was
supposed to be a different experience for me when I came off of that. I was supposed to
be lifted up and pushed into a light. And that never happened.
You know, after this, you're gonna, we're gonna do this.
And that never happened.
And I had to go, I did that tour.
Thank God for live nation.
They came in and we like, look, I will do a tour
of you and Gary and Jay.
Oh, yeah.
And I went and did that tour and that tour,
I mean, Jeff Will's, the fucking guys stuck to his word, you know what I mean?
I love Jeff. Jeff is great guy. I mean he he really
You know, he really I did that tour, but when I came up with that it was like all right
It's this is the time, you know what I mean? I bought my apartment with that money
Let's go do this shit because we were all in that same area. But now when things started taking off,
I found myself becoming that thing again.
You know what I mean?
And I'm trying to not be that,
trying to have my own shit.
But in reality, I wish I could have went back
and just said, fuck it, who gives a shit.
What do you, what money?
Who, all right, great.
You want what?
Who cares?
Let's just go and do this shit and continue to have fun
because in reality none of this is gonna matter.
We're all gonna be where we're gonna be anyways.
No matter what, how much I grab that steering wheel and try to fucking turn
it, where it's not, it doesn't work. And by the way, yeah, we're not even taking an
account. The trial, the personal trials and tribulations and life changes that we're
happy with. But I had a kid, you had a kid, you had a kid during that period. Yeah. You
broke your knee on tourgasm, right?
Burr.
That was before that, but yeah.
It was not that long.
Two knee operations, yeah.
Burr had just moved to LA.
Yeah.
It was adjusting to all that shit.
Yeah.
My mom had cancer.
I don't know if anybody got it.
God, all right, we got it.
Jesus, that's the name of the answer.
My mom had cancer.
But no, seriously, though, during that period, my uncle, my aunt, his wife, uncle's my, my mom I can't say. But no, seriously, during that period, my uncle,
my aunt, his wife, uncle and aunt died,
my other aunt died, my grandfather died,
my grandmother died, it was just,
and then, at the tail end of all that is when,
it wasn't long after that we lost Patrice.
Yep.
Mikey D. Jesus.
Drag Draudo.
If you'd rather,
Jesus fucking Christ.
Dude, I tell you what the biggest part for me was,
is my kid.
Cause you know, I found out on the shoot,
the first day of shooting,
I'll put the apartment
that my wife was pregnant.
The dawn was pregnant.
I remember I told you guys, then she had a miscarriage,
which was the fucking worst.
Sure.
And then she got pregnant again.
Uh-huh.
She got, I mean, doesn't it just ruin a nice sincere conversation?
How it really does just you would rule on you now?
God.
Yeah, we're really just children.
A fucking asshole.
Jesus Christ.
Sorry.
So, when she was finally pregnant and having the baby, I was such a unistandude.
I, for me to be a dad, the pressure on me was fucking so intense because I was like, I'm not gonna be able to afford it.
I'm not gonna be able to take care of this kid.
Howdy, I mean, what the fuck, what am I gonna do?
I'm gonna have to do gigs that I don't wanna do.
I'm gonna be a shitty dad.
I'm a barely, okay, husband, never mind.
I was so fucking crazy stressed out.
And then when this stuff happened,
all this shit went down.
It would just release, release valves.
So when I got in a fight with somebody,
it was everything behind it.
And fucking whee, like a kettle.
I just whistled at that person.
So I feel like if we went back,
you know, I mean, look, you can't go back. It is what it is. I've learned my own lessons from that person. So I feel like if we went back, you know, I mean, look, you can't
go back. It is what it is. I've learned my own lessons from that shit. But you know what's
funny? What? I remember a fight we had at that period. We fought so much, dude. And at the
time I didn't understand why it made you so mad. And now I understand because you're saying
what you're saying. What? Because you want to talk like Freudian triggers or whatever.
Right.
You remember I gave you that leather jacket?
Yes, I still have it.
Yeah.
And I kept saying to people when they would say nice jacket,
I go, I gave him that jacket.
Yeah.
Because I was excited like, I'm glad you like it.
I like it too.
I gave it that to him.
I was like proud that you wore and liked the jacket.
Yeah.
That was what it was in my head.
Yeah. And then you it was in my head.
And then you flipped it me one day.
You were like, stop fucking tell people,
give me the fucking.
And I was like, do what the fuck?
But everything you just said,
you were going through this,
am I gonna be able to provide?
I'm not gonna be able to take care of the other person.
And then you were seeing that as this guy's talking,
like he's providing for me.
And you know what I mean?
Well, it was more of yeah, it was that it was like I
Didn't I didn't buy my own jacket
You understand and you gave me this fucking jacket right and and I was I liked it
I really liked the jacket and then you were like yeah, I was like
It made me just go fuck
Look at this little ego in there too.
It wasn't all like, I could have got a jacket if I really wanted, but my ego was like, go fuck yourself.
The ego, the ego is the killer man.
And the ego, it was ego on my part too, which I didn't get at the time, which is me being like,
trying to be like, yeah, you know what I gave it to him, I'll be actually my jacket.
I mean, definitely you were, I mean, it was definitely more on you than me, but I mean,
probably 85% more you than me.
Yeah, but, but my, but my point is, isn't that, isn't that so interesting?
Like, because, you know, if, look, for anybody listening, if you haven't figured it out
by now, we're not the best at communicating in the time where it needs to be communicated,
right? But isn't that so funny?
Looking back now
as we talk about all these things and saying like,
wow, I had no idea.
Bobby, I sent students sincerely.
I had no idea you were going through those mental battles
and insecurities and whatever else at that time.
No clue.
Partly because of my own selfishness.
And partly because we didn't communicate that stuff very well
Oh, no way dude because you can't you can't do it
I bought an apartment in New York City my nut was for grand something a month
for not even everything right and
you know
This thing that we were building was supposed to I was like okay, okay, being, being, being, and then we'd be there, right? And then that all fell apart. And as it was falling, I was just,
I'm sitting there going, I have a fucking kid that's all my brain was. I have a kid. I
got this fucking place. That's why as soon as I, as soon as I brought that kid home, I'm
like, I'm out of here. I'm gone. And then, and it's funny because it's, again,
hindsight's 2020, but like, in my head,
my perception of you at that time was,
Bobby's a very strong individual.
He's got a lot of backbone.
He doesn't take any shit from anybody.
Yeah, I don't.
Right?
Yeah.
He's got an apartment.
He's doing well.
Yes. I mean, it never even enters your head like, no,
maybe he's struggling right now. Maybe he's scared. Maybe he's
got a mortgage that he's worried about me. It doesn't even enter
your fucking head. I mean, it didn't enter my head. But you get
that selfishness on my part. But it's just funny when you look
back at all this stuff, and you go, Oh, now I get why we were the
way we were
and why the tension was the way it was.
And why, you know, of course, of course,
but you also realize later now that, you know,
you will provide things, take care of themselves.
As long as you're working your ass off,
things you might not be burr,
you might not be fucking Kevin Hart or whatever.
But you know, my life right now, even after a pandemic, you know, which was, I love that
thing too.
It's like, you know, all our rich friends, you're doing all right.
No, no, I'm not.
What do you got?
Nothing, you know, right, which is fine.
No, I know what you're saying.
But you made it, you provided.
It works itself out because you're not some,
I'm not some guy who gives up, I hustle,
I do what I gotta do to make shit happen.
But I also have a lot of beautiful people around me.
You know what I mean?
In the business.
But back then, it was so fucking you.
You gotta fucking pull yourself up by a bootstraps and go get it done. But back then, it was so fucking you.
You got to fucking pull yourself up by a bootstraps
and go get it done.
And then that thing that we did together,
when it started falling apart, it was fucked to me.
And it's also, it's hard to do things with three friends
because sometimes me and Billy would be ganging up on you sometimes you gang up so you know you and Billy would
gang up on me remember the time I was that you thought I was having a heart
attack I had a softener we were terrified terrified for you well because you
were fighting you and Billy were fighting and all of a sudden my heart I grabbed
my chest. Yeah.
And I was like, guys, guys.
And I thought I was having a heart attack.
I thought I was dying.
And I was like, please don't let this, please don't let me
listening to these two assholes yell at each other be my last.
Hey, what?
Nothing makes you make up faster than your friend having a heart attack.
Me and Billy, I remember we were fighting about it.
Squashed it real fast.
I was fucking dumb. And it was just an about squash the real fat. I was fucking done.
It was just an esophagus spasm.
It was just because I ate rice too fast.
Billy said something to me during that period where I said something that pissed you off
so bad, dude.
And you were fucking, you lost it on me.
And Billy goes, I call Billy and I go, this stuck with me forever, forever.
And so it made me reconsider how I look at people.
And it made me read, it made me change my perspective of other people in the sense
of I take into account who they are and where they come from and whatever versus just going,
well, if I talk to you this way, you should understand because I understand.
And it made me start going,
no, everybody doesn't have the same background.
But I said something to you and you guys told me
to me and I called Burr and I was like,
why is he fucking y'all?
And Burr goes,
they're rosa, he can't talk to a guy like that
the way you did.
He goes, got a stable Bobby's from.
What you said was the equivalent of grabbing him
by the little pills.
And I was like, oh, okay, I get it, I get it.
Yeah, yeah, like it was.
It's funny too,
because like now I meet in Burr Hang,
I just hang with a hung with him in Vegas.
And it's such a, I mean, just a cool hang now.
I mean, we're reminiscing a, I mean, just a cool hang now. Yeah.
I mean, we're reminiscent, we're smoking cigars, and it's this, like, man, I fucking missed
you.
You son of a bitch.
And I don't understand.
We should finish that fucking script, dude.
We should finish it.
We never got back to it.
I'm sorry.
We should, we have 80 pages, we can,
somewhere, I don't even know where they are.
We should finish that fucking script.
I remember these scenes that I think we were all writing scenes
and then funneling it through you.
And we're putting it in, and then we all,
are you do write that scene, you write this scene,
you do that scene, and then we send it to you and then you'd put it together
and fix all of my spelling errors.
Every time I wrote two twice, go fuck yourself.
I know you guys talk behind my back.
All I remember.
I bet it right now, you get a minute right now.
What?
Did you talk behind my back about my spelling?
Only in the way that we do it right now would bill.
Okay, here's what I was a public talking behind your back.
What's it that say?
You said to me once that was a compliment,
but I took it as a slight.
Oh boy, what?
You said I should have been writing
because of the way I write.
I should be writing.
What did you say?
It was novel, like, you know,
you're a philosophical dude. Oh, what did you say? It was novel, like, you know,
you're a philosophical dude.
Oh, what did you say?
You said something.
I don't know.
You're asking me to recall an insult.
Well, I wasn't an insult.
You said it as a compliment.
Yes, you probably said you,
you, you, you, you, in another life,
you could have written novels or something like that.
Yes.
Yes.
If I said that, I didn't mean it in an insulting way.
I could. That was.
That was all.
So by the way, let's pay me as a bad guy.
I'm saying that to a guy that is set on stage multiple times, I hope you die reading a book.
You're a boring fucking loser.
I, you know, I take you as a guy that hates books.
So me saying that he was not me saying, Bob, I wish you were smart enough
to write book. It was me saying like, Bob, in another life, if you were interested in that,
I think that we would have been like what you did. I really don't like books. I know you
don't. That's what I'm saying. Wasn't it? That's why it blows my mind that I'm in the writer's
guild. I know. Me too. No, I'm saying I blows my mind. I'm in it too. It's not. It's
right. Oh, God, dude. I did it a writer right. Oh God, dude. I dated a writer recently and she just got a
scholarship to go back to school for writing. She's brilliant. Yeah. Is it Bonnie? No, it's rich.
She should you had dating Bonnie on the side. Yeah, she would show me her writing and I was like,
I was like, this is so brilliant. You're right. Brilliant. I've been published and you haven't.
brilliant, you're right. Brilliant. I've been published and you haven't. Is that fucking nuts? Like this is this is like whatever we're telling. I ever told Arty Lagwood's. I never told
Arty Lagwood's he goes, what's going on with your family? How's your mom? And I go, she's
all right there. She's got, she's got cirrhosis. They think she might have cirrhosis.
And he goes, the rosa, there's no justice in this world.
I did heroin for 20 years.
I have my liver's fine.
That's fucked up, dude.
It's fucked up.
It's really fucked up.
The fact that the worms, that I, who I don't know what you're,
I still don't know what the TOO is
And I am getting checks from the writers go like I am in a writing writers union my friend Jim majored in English He was the valedictorian in a high school
Sometimes I'll say a word wrong to him. I'll miss pronounce it. I'll go. Oh, is that how you say it published writer
I just go maybe if you tried harder you would have been published too
What do you think about us finish in the script you're I think you're avoiding it. No, I'm not avoiding it at all
I don't know where the script is what I
Don't know where the script is what is this script? It's eight computers ago. You understand that you're a tech guy
It's eight computers ago. I do it, but I always take stuff off and put it on the hard drive.
I do too, but I think the hard drive it might be.
Tell me that script is not gone.
I'm not the only one that had it.
We all had it.
I didn't have.
Yes, we all had copies of that script.
There's no way I only had the trust me.
I'll tell you this.
I did not delete that script.
It's somewhere on something.
It's a matter of if I can get that something.
What if we bring that script back?
We finish it, we film it, and that's the script
that fucking makes us all multi-millionaires.
I would love to dig it up.
I go down the path of serious actor,
I lose all the way to become an action,
like an action hero, middle-aged action guy,
like a mob guy, and then I do some soprano thing.
You go and direct and write, Billy just, you know,
well, he's already fucking does everything.
He's gonna see that he's getting nothing.
He gets more shit.
I think it's adorable.
You think Billy will still agree to be in it.
It's gonna be you, me, and Voss. Oh, yeah, still agree to be in it. It's gonna be you me and boss.
Oh, yeah, Mike Fini. It's gonna be you me and Vekio. As starring as Bill Burr, Mike Vekio.
Who was Dane was in it? Remember Dane was in it. Dane was in it. It was because we, we,
the basic plot was, wait a minute, save the, save the plot. Yeah. We are at an hour. Yeah,
but Dane, Dane was in it.
Well, there's some stuff with Dane too.
We could talk about in the private section of YKWD.

Big gnome
One say already you can't smoke. Is he gonna come up here? He comes up all the time. He's downstairs right now out front
What's he gonna do? He's gonna fucking give you man me? Oh, dude. You're not in the club. Yeah, I am in the club
Oh, sorry. This is got nothing to do with the club. You can't smoke stop. Can you not fit to 20 minutes?
Right. I'll ride. We'll go smoke it a cigar. We'll smoke all right. I

The jolly roses pop up is at the stand in New York City 12 to four p.m
Wednesday through Sunday. Tomorrow, we're doing a portrait event.
We got to talk about this in the Patreon. Yeah, we're going to do a portrait. What is it?
What is a fucking portrait? It's an Italian pork roll kind of thing. So we're doing a special
pork sandwich tomorrow until we go over there. Is that a veil? Is that any freezer right now?
No, no, it shows up tomorrow morning.
So tomorrow until we run out,
we're gonna be doing the special pork sandwich.
It's gonna be a poor chat, a sharp provolo and peppers.
Good.
And pretty soon we're gonna be opening
the actual Joey roses.
Where?
Bar and restaurants.
You're opening up a restaurant.
Bar and sandwich shop.
Really?
From the lower east. Can I tell you what you should get? Yeah.
Dom's stakedips. Okay. They're looking, they're in, they're in
love doms. They're in Queens. You know the stakedips. Yeah. Queens.
I love them. They're in Queens that the, I forget the
deli over there. You should have them available at your restaurant.
Dom's stakedips only available at what's it called?
