Hey, one of the
Starting point is 00:00:48 Ruesti podcast. I'm Gus. I'm Gavin. I'm Cole. I'm Carrie. Not Barb. You lose you lose the points. What? Somebody in chat said it was a gav barb and I'm barb. No, you're barb. I'm barb. Okay. Okay, because you're point. I used to be blonde. I kind of am. You're still kind of hard. You're dirt-blind. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:09 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:17 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. enough yet, but I fucking hate Thanksgiving. I fucking hate the holidays because it means the oldest child. You reach a point in your life where it becomes, oh, you handle it.
Starting point is 00:01:30 And then it's like, why aren't you hosting Thanksgiving? Why isn't everyone coming to your house? Why aren't you doing five days of work so everyone can come and shit on your food? Maybe we dive into this. Why aren't you? Why aren't, why aren't I? So I looked out in their older cousins. Oh, there you go. So it's up to them. I feel like there's a weird burden. Like once you're the oldest one, it's like, it's expected at some point,
Starting point is 00:01:54 you're supposed to take over and do all that. It's like, no, no, no, I, but did I not know you? Right. Like, I don't know to step up the deal. I was like, no, I'm not about that. I also did host once and it didn't go well. So, for your family, I was just kind of boring. It was like, I don't have a lot to do.
Starting point is 00:02:09 So Thanksgiving. Yeah. Well, it wasn't like at parents' houses, they have more things to do. I sure. So, but it was my little like whack-a-mole starter home. And there's like, okay, well, we can sit in your living room, I guess.
Starting point is 00:02:20 All of us. So you put Netflix on. Yeah. Nobody agrees on what to watch on Netflix. You just scroll forever. That's part of the fun. I imagine Cole, you it. Yeah, yeah, nobody agrees on what to watch on Netflix. Just scroll forever That's part of the fun. I imagine Cole. You're just like hey, you guys watch anime and they're just no I didn't know we want to know. No, is there anything's giving anime? Anime is giving
Starting point is 00:02:36 There probably has to be an anime with Thanksgiving. There's lots of anime with food. Oh well, so yeah, we have the same We have the same Teacher yes, Japanese teacher. Does she tell you like the phrase that you're going to need to remember every time you go over is what do you do on Thanksgiving? No, you have like people are going to ask you all the time, what do you do on Thanksgiving? Like, what do you eat? What's the tradition? I eat until I get tired. And then I sleep. Yeah, nonstop every corner. Every corner you get to, they're gonna. So people care about us. Yeah, I think they're just fascinating, right? It's like,
Starting point is 00:03:10 uh, because they've heard about a lot, but they don't ever. It is the most American. I guess that's a Halloween. I mean, Black Friday is the most American holiday, but it's very Thanksgiving. A lot of people are giving a taste. I mean mean Thanksgiving is because of America, right? Because... Well, as an English person, obviously never having celebrated Thanksgiving because why would I in England? It's kind of bad for you. I mean, it's kind of a bit of a shame holiday
Starting point is 00:03:36 for the Brits, right? Well, not a shame for us for the July. Oh, yeah, that's a good one. That's a real blow. Yeah, we could be thankful that you want to deal with America. Yeah. Yeah, it's a good one. That's a real blow. Yeah, we could be thankful that you want to do with American Yeah, it's just like it's like Christmas dinner, but without the presents pot. Yeah, it's like shit Christmas. Yeah I I've probably said this before and this is like
Starting point is 00:03:58 This is like probably the most podcast conversation we could possibly have Why the fuck are the two Turkey and ham holidays among the part? Right. It doesn't make any sense. What the fuck were they thinking? Let's spray some out. I want a good summer turkey. You want to June ham? Yeah. That's the other reason I didn't work in my house is because we've abandoned the turkey ham. Now things giving us hot wings and Christmas is. So just you're not having things giving me. Can you make turkey hot wings? Can I?
Starting point is 00:04:29 Cause that'd be huge right? I want to know. I'm trying it like a turkey wing. Yeah, a lot of low, but a lot of, oh, we should do that. I want to do Eric. Yeah. Oh, this is already the Thanksgiving episode though. We're too late.
Starting point is 00:04:42 Well, wait, but the other is making turkey hot wings right month away. We got a month. We can do anything in a month. We have a little fryer. Christmas. Turkeys doing some Christmas hot wings. Yeah. All job is like little Timmy Turkey hot wings. Yeah, turkey. How you have to carry a giant turkey though. Yeah, I'll drop it the last second. I just it's the most like
Starting point is 00:05:02 stupid thing to complain about, but I just like. No, you're absolutely right. Why? Well, what were they? There's a real answer in that it's the most like stupid thing to complain about, but I just like, No, you're absolutely right. I don't why. Well, there's a real answer in that, what's the harvest? And like, that's when everybody collects all this stuff, is Thanksgiving and there's left. That makes sense. Turkey and pig massacre time.
Starting point is 00:05:14 Yeah. Shit. But we don't, we don't, we don't do that anymore. Yeah, we live in a global society. We can get it any time. Uh, yeah. It's 2021. Isn't there also like Easter ham?
Starting point is 00:05:23 Yeah, yeah, yeah. I thought you had a Easter. I thought you'd grab it. What is that the Easter bunny? Easter rabbit. He's laying the eggs. He's not laying the eggs. Where are they coming from? It doesn't miss the end. Eat Easter makes the least of my sense of any of them. Or the flyer also mean hot dogs, which are pigs.
Starting point is 00:05:44 You can eat pigs anytime. It's real hot. The most American thing is just to put all of the leftovers in a sheath and eat it. What's wrong with Easter? So you eat ham and the two like mascots of Easter are a bunny rabbit in Jesus. Yeah. Well, Jesus is mascot of Christmas too. See, it's pretty into that one. Not, it's not fair, my. Santa's also the mascot of Christmas. Right. So Jesus and Santa,
Starting point is 00:06:13 I think Jesus should step down from Christmas, even though his name's in the title. It's not even really his birthday, right? No, he should focus only on Easter. Why, see, why don't we say, what's more impressive and getting born okay and born off do you've been killed? Ladder reborn. Yeah. Okay, so maybe he yeah, he's a take Easter. And so then yeah, a bunny comes around and shits chocolate eggs. And it doesn't make sense. It's a mammal. If yeah, if you die and get resuscitated, can that be your new birthday? Okay.
Starting point is 00:06:47 Like, you're not, you're not actually born though. Being born, like that's a specific thing, not being brought back to life. Jesus will again. One definition of being born is not being alive and then being alive. Right. So I will say that Google says, if die in our revived is your life sentence over and You used to be No, it is not not anymore But the definition of born is existing as a result of birth So it was the definition of birth
Starting point is 00:07:20 Does it have to be from vagina or can it be from well it vibrates also has to be from cluelica The poopy hole Birth the emergence of a baby or other young from the body of its mother the start of life as a physically separate being so yes Yeah, so Mother earth that seems so a chickens birthday. is it the egg day or is it the hatch today? Oh, that's the day it emerged. No, it's not fertilized at that point. Guys, this is too close to another conversation. We need to stay far away from this. We need to stay far away from this one. It just doesn't make sense. But you
Starting point is 00:08:01 do raise an issue question because the egg becomes separate. Yeah. I don't know. It's separate in the egg, but it's still in the egg. It still needs to be in the egg. Because some point it becomes alive before it even hatches, right? Yeah, pops. I mean, I need to be in the office. Doesn't mean I, what? Would you know what I started it?
Starting point is 00:08:24 Man, I this morning we Monday's you know, they're a long day obviously, which is but before I get to what I was gonna say actually Cole I'm at it you don't you didn't tell me you kept a secret from me until right before we started the podcast Yeah, I shouldn't have said it then I should have waited. It's what it's cold. It's colds. It's colds off today I took the week off. Yeah, colds. I think it's supposed to be working What is this this is just talking here's like I was watching Tears work so it's off and I was like you're off today. What are you doing here? Well, it also helped me not have to go home
Starting point is 00:08:53 So I could just say I'll come on Tuesday. I got a work obligation on Monday Oh, I've got to go home for the holiday. Yeah, but they're watching that probably so they don't watch me. Oh No, hey, we do Thanksgiving. Yeah, no, hey mom and dad. Here's a podcast. I'm on no watching anime. Okay. They don't watch me. No. No, we do Thanksgiving. Yeah, no. Hey, mom and dad, here's a podcast I'm on. No, we're watching in a May. Yeah, okay. It's very old Thanksgiving in a minute.
Starting point is 00:09:11 I've done some more thing before. I think I've come in for a podcast on my day off. Yeah. We don't get to do it that much. Yeah. I got to start getting you, I'm trying to. Yeah. I used to go through a little bit.
Starting point is 00:09:19 I used to go through a little bit. I used to go through a little bit. I used to go through a little bit. I used to go through a little bit. I used to go through a little bit. I used to go through a little bit. I used to go through a little bit. I used to go through a little bit. I going to Heathrow airport and being like like being on the podcast in 50 hours. I wonder if I'll make it and I never I don't think I've ever missed one. You never do.
Starting point is 00:09:30 It was always just funny starting thousands of miles away from this podcast and knowing that I'll be on it. A different hemisphere starting like just so spatially away from what this is. Yeah. It was a fun game. It is long commute. The prime meridian runs through London. Is that correct? But Greenwich. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:50 Greenwich west of London, like is London in the eastern hemisphere or the western hemisphere. London's pretty south east. I'm not looking at a south part. Yeah. Where's Greenwich? London and the UK. Ordinance. Somewhere over there. Looks like Greenwich. Oh, London is 0.1276 West.
Starting point is 00:10:13 Oh. It's barely in the Western hemisphere. There you go. Never mind. You still be staying from the edge of one hemisphere to the middle of it. Yeah. But we've had that conversation about hemispheres before.
Starting point is 00:10:25 That's a pointless hemisphere. It's pointless. It's the East and West one. They should have done it where the state line is. That isn't, well, I guess you have to go all the way around, don't you? I think if you follow it across to the other side, that is where the date line is.
Starting point is 00:10:38 But then it gets like fucked up around some islands and the Pacific who want to be on one side of the other. It gets all zigzagging. It's like the Arizona where it's like we're different. We're not even we're the day before that other island we can see right over there. I can't I can't think of how this would ever come up against. So can I tell you all one of the stupidest thoughts I've ever had? I would love that. That's what a podcast is for.
Starting point is 00:10:59 Is it about penguins? No, we'll get there. Don't start that. We'll get there. If if you fly up in the air in a hot air balloon The world moves under you. Wouldn't you just end up somewhere else? You if you were to stay stationary. Yes, but there's winds that push you around Like a lot of the time the winds that is like dragging the atmosphere around yeah, yeah, okay That makes more sense, huh? I was just thinking of you like cheap travel is like you just go up and you sit there and eventually you end up somewhere else. I do. If you go up, if you think about like the real estate that we can do it. Really long flights like flying to Australia, like the
Starting point is 00:11:37 save flying from LA to Australia, you don't fly to where Australia is, you fly to where it's going to be. Don't do that to me Like because you take off and you spend 15 hours in the air the earth still rotating so you have to I already told you this hurts go to where it's gonna be is there is there are you really doing that? Yeah, we have a GPS in there the accounts for it. It's a different gravity Okay, never mind. I feel way better now. That cash does something to people. Like is there like different? It's like if like if a mountain's taller or if it's like, is it because your gravity is a theory? It's like a
Starting point is 00:12:14 right? Yeah. We don't even know if it's real. No, it's it's real. It's a thing. Wait. It's yeah. You're saying, well, are you lighter on the top of Everest? Yeah, I guess that's what I'm saying theoretically the further away from the core of the earth gravity affects you differently Yeah, but if you're if you're a hundred thousand feet up You'll still fall. Oh, yeah, but you fall like a millisecond slower, but like it'd probably fall faster if the as dinner But oh, that's resistant full foster if the as then uh, but oh, that's resistant. Now we're talking now we're talking resistance. God, we're down. Well, we don't need to be smart. God, we're so uh, apparently gravity is different. A bit it if you think about it in the grand scheme of things,
Starting point is 00:12:59 the earth is smooth like the earth size wise is smoother than a cue ball from pool, right? That's right. Even though Everest seems really tall to us, it's really insignificant to the grand scheme of things. So it is very slightly different, but wouldn't be a really good. Because like with the with the hunter balloon, if you went up high enough, would gravity affect you differently? I do think that at certain point point you have to like start getting like
Starting point is 00:13:25 Out of the atmosphere. Yeah, well, I mean that the guy that jumped from the edge of the atmosphere Didn't he fall at like 20,000 He felt incredibly fast miles an hour until he hit the atmosphere and then he slowed down or something that's Was I think Felix Bungauer some ofumgauer? Yeah, brought to you by my goal. I think that record was beaten surely after it probably wasn't that fast I don't remember the person who beat it. I remember it was been years. I still remember Felix Bumgarden or whatever That's a great quote like what? I think it's like after he's jumped and he's like starting to feel you can just hear him go I'm hauling ass What else?
Starting point is 00:14:08 That's the perfect thing to say what else would yeah you're yeah, whoa This is a kind of long lines of dumb things Have you ever thought about how birthdays work from the egg or from the That far will like like like when you turn 30 You've officially already been 30. Yes. This is the whole light finishing your 30th This is the whole annual conversation over. Yeah, cuz when you turn one You've already had already have a year right? I somebody said the same thing on TikTok and it messed me the fuck up No, you turn one when you're one. Yes
Starting point is 00:14:45 You've been on on the earth. You've been out for one. Yeah, so you're when you're one from zero actually on a second year You're the stop of your second you're starting to say so when you turn 30 you're starting your 30 first year It's your second. It's like first year, but you've been alive. It's your second. May right, but most people like, I feel like think of it as like, I'm now 30. But really, you're not, you're now been alive more than 30. Yeah. Right. There's a point where you're, I'm now 30. Okay. Now I'm 30 in one second. Now I'm 30 in two seconds. Right. I'm in my 30s now versus like, what are you saying when you're 31, you're 32. What? You're 31 point, whatever. But the second it's your birthday, you're 31. Yes.
Starting point is 00:15:32 Yes. Yeah, I always like, I feel like a lot of people, he reacted. I'm with you. What show, whoa? I never thought about it like that. But when you're 10, when you turn 10, turn 10 turn 10, 10, you're starting your 11th year, you're done with 10. You're done being 10. You're now 11. But you're at 10. No, no, no, you're, you, you, that's
Starting point is 00:15:55 like looking at noon and being like, they've done 12, which yeah, but that's right at noon. Okay. So, so your idea was to disprove that and then go yeah and then say something Yeah, but it's still noon when you look at the call is noon. It's not No, it's not one. What do you mean? Yeah, have you ever heard of Korean age how the way they do birthdays in in Korea, they count time in the womb towards your age. So when you're born, you're one, and then your age goes up by one on New Year's Day. You get a birthday so quick. Everyone ages on New Year's Day to the next year.
Starting point is 00:16:37 What? What time is it then, Gavin? Yeah, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait anyway. So yeah, uh, that also. I forgot we all Gavin looks in pain. Everybody looks in pain. We just we just, but that's like one of those things that we just all accept. Yeah, it's like that this argument was also big back when like 2000 rolled around the year 2000. I'll be like, Oh, that's not actually the new millennium. It's right.
Starting point is 00:17:22 2001 on a human level means nothing. You just exist for a bunch of time in a row and then your body has done was existing. All right, Neil's a grass-tice. I think that was the argument. I remember that was argument on the podcast a long time ago was the term the second annual. First annual. Yes, but people would say it's the second annual, but it's not. It's not an annual yet until the first time it's repeated. We can run away from
Starting point is 00:17:48 What if it was planned annually from no, it's inaugural. There's a word for that. That was the whole discussion If you always intended it to be annual it doesn't matter. It's not annual yet So the first is you can plan it, but it's not gonna happen so the very first RTX inaugural inaugural inaugural second one is the first annual, but they gonna happen. So the very first RTX in auguro in auguro second one is the first annual but they would but when it was the first RTX we already done with one RTX no what do you think we need stop oh yeah oh yeah you really broke my brain there cheese I was trying I hate it I think I can't tell if Gavin understands more or less than us. That's the thing. I used to think it was less reader.
Starting point is 00:18:32 I started to think more. It's been more time on the podcast over the years. It's definitely more. Now I'm going to say things and sometimes I'll be like, I don't believe that, but I want to get in on the ground floor. So yes, I am on board with whatever weird thing Gavin just said. You know, yeah, yeah, unless it's about age, he's always the wrong one. No, yeah. This episode of the RESTEEF podcast is brought to you by Purple. If you've tried every gimmick out there that promises a great night's sleep, I'm talking about way to blankets, fancy mattress toppers, whatever, but you're still sleeping terribly, newsflash, your
Starting point is 00:19:01 mattress is the problem. That's why you got to try out a purple mattress. That's because only purple mattresses have the gel flex grid, a super stretchy ultra squishy material that adapts and flexes around pressure points and doesn't retain heat. That means you're cool all night, you're back in the lecture supported, your shoulders, neck, and hips are cushioned. The gel flex grid also bounces back as you move it shift
Starting point is 00:19:19 so you don't feel stuck like, you know, you can with memory foam. Love purple mattress, gel flex technology is like magic. It keeps me cool at night, especially during hot nights. I mean, it's really an underrated thing, I think, in my opinion, where you don't have to worry about just getting hot in one place. Nice and relaxing. So getting a great night's sleep starts with having a great mattress.
Starting point is 00:19:38 Get a Purple mattress, go to Purple.com slash teeth 10, use code teeth 10. For a limited time, you get 10% off any order of $200 or more. That's Purple.com slash teeth 10, code teeth 10 for the minimum time you get 10% off any order of $200 or more. That's purple dot com slash teeth 10 Code teeth 10 for 10% off any order of $200 or more purple dot com slash teeth 10 promo code teeth 10 What did we sell on with the age thing? It's wrong. Yeah, we all we should all age up on New Year's Day. Let's all change that Happy so but the red today always have that system then or the change Because there was that whole thing that was it Julius Caesar did it where they realized that All of the seasons were wrong because they weren't putting in leap days. Oh, yeah
Starting point is 00:20:17 So in order to make up for it, he just decided that will that they'll just have a really long year until it was over that they'll just have a really long year until it was over. And it was back. Imagine that in that freaking power. I think they fast forwarded time. They were like, we should have been like two years later, so I'll just do that.
Starting point is 00:20:31 I feel like it just had like a 400 and something day a year. And then they would just like, all right, from now, now we know what to do with leap days. That's crazy to think that like, as America we've never had, America's never had that longevity to have messed that up. Yeah, like Rome has been around for so long that they messed up seasons by not accounting for it was a leap day. Julia Caesar added three extra intercalorie months to recalibrate the calendar
Starting point is 00:20:57 in preparation for his calendar reform, which went into effect in 45 BC. This year, therefore, had 445 days and was nicknamed the Year of Confusion. It serves as the longest recorded calendar year in history. So, wait, what do they call the month off to December then? Smart. Smart, central, December season two. Noctober. Noctober. Yeah, did they just have like the 98th of December?
Starting point is 00:21:25 Like did they just keep going? That has to December. That is stretch all the other days out. The dumbest joke, but the one that I laugh at every single fucking time is anytime there's like a hot chick on the internet on November 3rd and every is like man October 34th is really. It can't believe it's such a good day. It's the non-stop November.
Starting point is 00:21:43 Not yeah. It's just like, oh it actually, it's not November yet guys. Don't worry. I laugh at it every's such a good day. It's the non-stop November. Not yeah. It's just like, oh, it didn't actually, it's not November yet, guys, don't worry. I laugh at it every fucking time I hate it. The, the, before that the Romans had to periodically add a leap month every few years to keep the year in sync, but it missed a few with the chaos of civil wars in the late republic.
Starting point is 00:22:00 So they just missed a few months and they were supposed to end. This is not the idea of a guy trying to figure out what day and what month is, just like shuffling papers around. I'm like, this was also back before, I mean, during the Civil War, Texas didn't know that the war was done for like years. So this didn't get out to like the, the far reaches of the Roman Empire. There were people who were just operating on different years.
Starting point is 00:22:19 Well, they had a long year to figure it out. This sure. They had four extra months. Yeah. It's like, hey guys, next year's coming around the corner. Actually, we got a little bit of time there. Can we worry about it? Are there names? I'm actually in I've tried to figure it out. I couldn't I've they probably might have used a different naming system anyway. Did that change their financial cycle? I don't think they're fucking thinking in quarters back then. They had taxes.
Starting point is 00:22:42 Yeah. Oh, they had like a Q5. Yeah. Like what? These fifth quarter numbers are ridiculous. This contract says four quarters a year. I don't have to pay this last quarter. That must have wrecked stuff for like, to figure out anything year-odd. Yeah. Compared to that year. It's just like, we have crazy growth in your 45 BC. You mentioned having spreadsheets, but back then. But I'm in a nightmare.. Yeah, like we were worried about Y2K and they literally added three fucking months. Yeah, can you imagine to be so powerful that you can just add you can just change when a year is that's why I was like we can't do shit
Starting point is 00:23:15 now we can't do a single goddamn thing. We can't do any government. What do you want done? What do you want an extra day? You want a new month? I get a new day every four years. I have it, it's the same. I am a firm believer that everything should be closed on leap day. Nobody should have to work, leap day. I like that. It's a free day. I want to buy stuff.
Starting point is 00:23:36 Nope, you do. What about those more? What about the sales? Oh God. That's the most, yeah. I mean, that's probably what it would actually be. I just, I think leap day should just be like. How does, if nobody, that's probably what it would actually be. Mm-hmm. I just, I think, leave the should just be like, how does, if nobody works?
Starting point is 00:23:47 Yeah. If nobody, anybody works on the same day, wouldn't society collapse? Well, yeah. I don't know. I don't know. I, like, yes, but what happens, I mean, every, everything in Texas used to be closed on Sundays. Mm-hmm. Yeah, you close for like, you've got forced to miss stuff. You've got four years to figure it out. You'll be fine.
Starting point is 00:24:03 Yeah. It's not like it happens all the stuff. You've got four years to figure it out. You'll be fine. Yeah It's not gonna happen all the time one day every four years boo fucking who the hospital can stay open. Are you happy? Okay, I guess I wasn't thinking about my fire department. No, don't do any Like just no you're at that should just runs on it when people there's nobody out doing things nothing will get messed up That's so far from the truth. That like fourth of July everyone's at home and that's like the busiest day for like firefighters. It needs to be a chill day though. It got cold here and Austin the other day
Starting point is 00:24:33 and two houses burned down. Yeah. Why? I didn't even know that. Yeah, people starting their fireplaces for the first time. Yeah. I mean, it's like, oh, no, you're hospital.
Starting point is 00:24:41 Yeah, and with that, with that everyone's going to have to restaurants a bit. People are going to be cooking. A lot of people are going to be just cutting that chicken of people are going to be just cooking turkey and ham again. You want people to cook more turkey and more ham? Yes. That's how we get in earlier turkey. Leap day turkey.
Starting point is 00:24:53 Isn't we there on Easter? But it's still a turtain. It's a regular. Yeah. Yeah. I guess, yeah, we can spread it out. That's still three months from Thanksgiving. As long as you don't have Valentine's Day turkey.
Starting point is 00:25:01 What if we started diversifying the turkey? Like, like Thanksgiving always fried Okay, Christmas is always steamed steamed Steamed turkey Cold doesn't know how to cook turkey. I can see why you're Excuse me that you hosted didn't go well. I've given the options fried or steam I just eat in like hot floppy turkey this roll This turkey yeah, this turkey's really
Starting point is 00:25:28 And peeking cold in the middle. Yeah, you know like a hot pocket. That's that's how turkeys Fuck I don't know. I don't know. So what a penguin's day I I tried to heat up a frozen burrito in my air fryer today or as an expert it didn't work well No very hot on the outside of very cold in the middle I eat up frozen burrito in my air fryer today. It doesn't work well. No. Very hot on the outside, very cold in the middle. I should pop this in the microwave for a minute. Even out. I tried to make cookies in my air fryer.
Starting point is 00:25:56 It just melted them when they fell to the bottom. Oh, I've thought about trying that. Good to know. I don't have what is an air fryer. It's just like a hot blow dryer. Yeah. It just shoots hot air on my blow dryer is hot. A hotter blow, 390 degrees. So like a heat gun. Yeah. Yeah. Like a heat gun on
Starting point is 00:26:13 all sides except for the door. So I had two heat guns. Have I got a fry? No, you need top in bottom. Reminds them to be top. Here's only top. Mm-hmm. Got shitty. That's why I was in the cold the middle. That's why you just put cold in the middle. Or on the outside. That's why you're supposed to put stuff on the microwave. You put on the edge. With mine, I have to flip it. So maybe if you have like from different sides, you don't have to worry about flipping.
Starting point is 00:26:31 You microwave on the edge? Yeah, you have to put, you're supposed to put on the edge of the tray. You try and shit. Are you for real? No, I'm for real. I thought you want to only get one side hot. How do you get one side hot?
Starting point is 00:26:42 Everything I learned now is from TikTok. What's the biggest of this? Because it's like, it gets closer and then it gets farther away and it's the coldest. There's not a central point. It just blasts microwave rays that random in there. I thought it was a central point. The magnetron is in the side. That's not real. That's where the light is. No, I really just up on right.
Starting point is 00:27:00 TikTok didn't tell him that. I got a little bit of a clue. I mean, do you talk to Google anything, so I'm gonna be so googling. It's like a micapult tick-tock. Oh, it was open. Whoops. Because that's where all the heavy stuff is. It's on the right side.
Starting point is 00:27:11 Yeah, I think behind all the buttons. There's just microwaves like raised. Just like, what's the idea? They fire in a bounce around in there. But they come in from... But if it's just in the center, then like, it's not getting as many chances to have a spot hit it. I see what you're if it's outside it's moving more so that's a better chance of being in a spot Oh, it's just rotating in one spot as opposed to rotating the whole thing. Oh, okay. Yeah
Starting point is 00:27:36 Huh my That's right my microwave doesn't have a carousel in it. I hate it now. Why not? I don't know It's like it's one of those drawer microwaves you ever see those whoa Yeah, yeah, like do you have a fancy like built-in? Do you have a fancy kitchen with really inconvenient? Like you hit a button and it like slides open you put the stuff in there, but there's no trade So it's like you put stuff in you like I guess good luck So putting stuff on the side wouldn't necessarily do anything for me It sounds annoying. Yeah, it's it's kind of annoying and it's also not as powerful as regular microwave. So you have a microwave that
Starting point is 00:28:11 Doesn't spin and it's a drawer. Yes, and I bet it was way more expensive than a mic. That feels like it's just a toaster than a regular microwave probably Yeah, uh core comms got my back. So I'm good. I feel confident. Yeah, but it looks cool It looks real cool, but it sucks. Yeah, it does that. I don't use my microwave normally anyway That's how I'm trying to put a burrito in the air fryer I don't like my microwave if I know this I bought a separate ninja air fryer for like 75 bucks at Walmart So he didn't have to do with the shitty microwave. Exactly. You just got to reach your hand in every five seconds and move it around.
Starting point is 00:28:48 Yeah. Get those, those microwaves. Just get like a glove. Yeah. Stick it in there. Um, what do you feel like to microwave your head? Painful. Real bad.
Starting point is 00:28:56 Well, like really straightaway real bad or probably. Think about how hot shit gets immediately in there. I mean, I don't get fucked up. I mean, every is at least heard of a video of like a hamster like popping or something I mean like it's bad you put stuff or get some of those bad people have done bad things in my course. Oh Man, yeah, yeah, sorry bring it down. I don't want to think about that. Yeah, but not air friars. Not air fri- well I'm sure they have no the last bastion. Okay. Yeah, it's like just no no bad things have happened with air friars What's so ever it would be bad Gavin don't do it is what I'm getting at.
Starting point is 00:29:26 I don't know how I do it. That's hey, I'm glad that now that we've had this conversation, you won't do it. I was talking to carry the other day. I want to talk about these amigos. That's right. We talk to people here on the set. I decorated the set. I know everybody else did too. But I brought the blanket. No, I didn't do the blanket and I didn't do the scarf and I didn't do the hat and I didn't do y'all sweaters and I didn't do that scarf, but I brought two amoebos. Uh, yeah, I've been playing Metroid Dread and I've been stuck at the last boss. Forever now.
Starting point is 00:29:57 I fucking hate it. It was going to be crazy. I was talking to carry about it and carry it. It's like, oh, bring my amoebos. What did they do? They gave you stuff in the game. Yeah. So each one. Yeah, they're not cheap. stuff in the game? Yeah, so each one?
Starting point is 00:30:05 Yeah, they're not cheap. Pay-a-win. They're not cheap. Yes. No They are It's basically DLC In a Cigarette yeah, it's not paid when you just get one extra thing He's gonna win and one is gonna win pay for that. I pay you. I pay fucking double price for those because I couldn't find my retail. What do they give you? One gives you an energy tank and then one gives you more missiles. Yeah, probably. Yeah. Is it is it a regular missile tank or a missile tank plus?
Starting point is 00:30:32 Is it three or ten? Ten. Oh, you just. What would be cool if that or an amibe that just beats the boss to just kill him. No, that's not far. If this is a warcomer, I'm just going to give my switch to carry and ask him to beat it for me. Like when you give the controller to give the whole other guy. Yeah, I can't beat it. No, I did not go against that boss until I collected everything in the game. Um, see that's what I was gonna ask like, because I've been going through a previous life. Similar games, Mega Man, they like, Mega Man, Mega Man, which I made an admission to be every single Mega Man game in a chronological or a story order.
Starting point is 00:31:02 So I have Mega Man Legends 2 is the last one I have. Where do you put? On me? I don't on me bow. I don't complete. I don't fight the Boston to live fun. Everything or click me. It's not working here.
Starting point is 00:31:14 I'm one of the joy, the joysticks, I think. Keep talking. I'm in the, I mean, I'm in a Metroid. I can do it. We'll come and tell you what you're doing. Otherwise, yeah, let, going through the settings. Oh, you got to hear the minus the minus button. People are complaining that Halo, the New Halo cost $1,000.
Starting point is 00:31:33 How does Halo cost a thousand to get everything? It's going to cost like 1400. But what? What? There's battle pass stuff that you cannot give if you don't do, you don't pay for the battle pass. I pay for the battle pass. Well, you can't just level up to it. No, when you don't pay for the battle pass. I pay for the battle pass. Well, you can just level up to it
Starting point is 00:31:51 No, when you're leveling up on the battle pass. There's like every once in a while. There's like two things It's like oh you you get this one for free and you get this right under the pass Oh, so you have to spend $1,400 Energy at maximum capacity. This amoeba will have no effect. Missile tank. That's fine It would have also refilled your health. Oh. It did give you an extra kill. Yeah, I see a deflector. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:11 And I've got 135 missiles now. I got you. Thanks. I got you. That last boss is a bitch. I know. Is it a good game? It's great.
Starting point is 00:32:19 If you like Metroid games, yeah. Is it the best Metroid game? I've never played a sequel. Why would you stop? No, I think my personal favorite is probably super Metroid. If I have been super into it. Yeah, I have to pick one. I might ship myself.
Starting point is 00:32:30 Who do you mean? I'm just going to ship myself. Like right now? Yeah, I thought you would like really to Metroid. Do you have a free camera? You eat coffee? I'll be good. I'm so glad I'm on the chair.
Starting point is 00:32:42 Yeah, this is a very good first Metroid. No, I'll give it a go. Yeah, it is a very good first metric. No, I'll give it yeah, yeah, it's There is like some some like Story typical story weirdness like oh, oh, Samus you've lost all your powers. You have physical amnesia Yeah, he's that's because like every game you have to do the Metro advania thing where you lose every item Yeah, you're like almost like you're like completely built and then you lose everything. Yeah. It's like, oh, now you have to go find everything
Starting point is 00:33:07 and also is a boss. This one is SQL diffusion. This, this, this game completes the story from the original Metroid. Well, they, they all, they have like a, a timeline. Yeah. But I mean, I think it, I think it, Metroid, Super Metroid, the fusion and then this.
Starting point is 00:33:22 When you start playing this one, there is like like a five minute cut scene explaining the story so far Yeah, to get you caught up to where you are right now and in the end I was like, I don't care And what is a Metroid is an enemy? It's you've probably seen it's like it. Yeah, it is. It's like that little half circle It looks like little teeth on the bottom like an amoeba. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah an amoeba Those are amoebo. I actually do have an amoebo of a Metroid a Metroid So I do have an amoebo amoebo does also wait an amoeba amoebo But at this point in the story Metroids don't even exist anymore. They don't exist after like met super Metroid
Starting point is 00:34:00 Yeah, they're gone the last Metroid that Metroids are extinct at all the games are them trying to be like, well, let's use the Metroid DNA to try to make this new thing. It's like kind of Jurassic Parky, you know? Yeah, it's like, oh, yeah, we, yeah, we, there's a new threat using Metroid DNA. That must be. It doesn't make sense, but it's fun to play.
Starting point is 00:34:17 Yeah, you have to read a lot of those games. Comics and lore and on the stuff on the side. So do you share yourself? No, I think it's the past. The past. Okay. This episode received podcasts brought to you by ExpressVPN. Using internet without ExpressVPN is just as risky as leaving your laptop out in the open in a coffee shop while you run in the bathroom. Most of the time, you're probably okay. But what if one day you come back and your
Starting point is 00:34:37 laptop is disappeared? Look, every time you connect to the unencrypted network like in cafes or airports, any hacker on the same network can gain access to your personal data. They can even sell that info on the dark web and that hacker doesn't have to be eugenious to get your info. But ExpressVPN creates an encrypted tunnel to protect your data so well only a hacker with a supercomputer and a billion years to spare could get past it. It's easy to use, just click a single button and you're safe on all your devices. I'm using ExpressVPN over a year and a half. It's so easy to use and goes across all devices. It's unbelievable. Sometimes I forget that it's there.
Starting point is 00:35:10 So easy, so unobtrusive. It goes on in the background. It's awesome. Secure online data today by visiting expressvpn.com slash rooster. That's EXP, R-E-S-S, VPN.com slash rooster. Get an extra three months free. Expressvpn.com slash rooster. I really like Halo Infinite. It's very fun. Mm-hmm. It's been pretty fun. We played the other night. We did. It was good. I was like so I was like I had a text you because I was like there's no way he invited me. He means he must have missed like miss clicked. Huh? And I was very happy. So you are. Yeah. It was fun. It's just a good excuse to I feel like everyone I know a piece of line. If someone's appearing online. It's like maybe they're up for play this is very true. Yeah. I was and then I did the uh I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I feel like everyone I know appears offline. If someone's appearing online, it's like,
Starting point is 00:35:45 maybe they're up for play. This is very true. Yeah. I was and then I did the oldest thing I've ever done, which was like, I'm playing on Steam and I got an Xbox notification for a party and I was just basically shit my pants. I was just like, I don't know how I'm gonna do this.
Starting point is 00:36:02 We figured it out and it was fine. Yeah, but right as I figured it out, I think you'd gone into a game so it disappeared and I was like, I dreamed it know how I'm gonna do this. We figured it out and it was fun. Yeah, but right as I figured it out, I think you'd gone into a game so disappeared and I was like, I dreamed it didn't I. I was like, was that real? I will never see that again. Yeah, that was fun. It's, I haven't played Halo too much lately.
Starting point is 00:36:18 It's very fun. There are some people on my Xbox friend list who I only play like the week a Halo game comes out, I only play with the week a Halo game comes out. I only play with them. So I taught them every like five to seven years. Just whatever the new one drops. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:31 It's fun. I played five for all of one day, but I think I'm going to play this one more. It was a lot more fun. Yeah, I don't really remember much of five. This one's already I think I've already played more multiplayer in this one than five. Yeah. Same as not even really out yet. Man, it's impeder.
Starting point is 00:36:44 Eight. I know when I was doing the most ofba stuff, you were talking about the battle pass, like price of unlocking everything. We've talked about this before the show. It's like, yeah, I mean, it's cool and all, but I don't mind playing just a plain default gray Spartan. Yeah. You only see yourself when you die, and I don't plan on ever seeing myself. Yeah. There you go. That's the way to do it. I punched a rocket yesterday. That was cool. What with the repulser thing Yeah, you can which I guess is like you just do that and the thing goes in your arm Oh, that makes it like a boom you can like punch people off the map and stuff But I just instinctively I jumped out of a window as someone shot a rocket. I was like
Starting point is 00:37:20 I'm gonna it's gonna hit me and I just tried it and I was blown away when it worked I was just like you weren't blown away. I was like, it's gonna hit me and I just tried it. And I was blown away when it worked. So I was like, you weren't blown away. I was not blown away. I was not blown away when it was blown away. That would have been primo, but it just landed on the ground. I love watching all the highlights of people with the grapple hook. Like, you use it more. Like, looks like a tack on Titan.
Starting point is 00:37:37 They're like flying around with swords and just land and slash and flying away. It's so much fun. It's really fun. There's so many new medals I need to get my head around. Yeah, they have a lot that I'm like, oh, I never thought that that was like a accomplishment or like worth noting, but it is. It is pretty cool that I got shot first,
Starting point is 00:37:54 but I killed them. That is worth, that is reversal, that's worth it. Um, I should feel good. Get a lot of yodd sales. What's that one? I think it's, you've killed someone with a power weapon and a full inventory or something. Like you should have like a lot of yard sales. What's that one? I think it's you've killed someone with a power weapon and a full inventory or something. Like you just have a lot of stuff on you.
Starting point is 00:38:08 It just goes like, beat someone who should have won that fight. Yeah. Or is it like a weapon you purged or you got from them? When we look at it. I've also got an Odin's raven. What's what? I shot like a threat detector and it picked up three people. Oh.
Starting point is 00:38:24 Oh. He just five fires. They like Gilly spine. Gilly spine was on. Yeah, what was that like bash someone with an overshield to death or something? Yeah, like you back. Did they? Is it was it like a intentional thing like they've they've got rid of the word assassinate?
Starting point is 00:38:40 Like nowhere in like anytime like you kill somebody by hitting them in the back, none of the metals, none of the anything say assassinate. You also can't like perform like you do. Maybe that's why. Yeah, maybe that's not officially an assassination anymore. I mean, it's probably better they remove that animation. I felt like it. Well, that was like, it just kind of left you vulnerable there for a bit.
Starting point is 00:38:59 We didn't have to do it. It was for Fletcher. It's for BM and you. I liked it. It's when you kill an enemy that has a power weapon in a full inventory. Yeah. So they just got a bunch of shabby. I really like that. It's when you kill an enemy that has a power weapon in a full inventory. Yeah, we said so they just got like a bunch of shabby You're like they had a big team battle. They had that new game type that's like the batteries I See it. Yeah, the seats. I don't like that one. I don't play that one. It's like your base has five slots that you can put these batteries or seeds in and
Starting point is 00:39:21 randomly in the map five seeds will spawn and everyone rushes and tries to grab them and take them back and put them in their base. And every five you get a point, but in between you can steal from the other base. Do you have a caddy for these batteries? You carry them on a ballstom? You can like throw them. Yeah, I was watching some do pick one up and throw it and then another one pick like he was just juggling all the way back. It's faster to run and throw.
Starting point is 00:39:42 It's fun game. It feels right. It's fun game. It feels right. It feels like Hayley. Well, I mean, I think we're all seeing the benefit of them spending an extra year in development on it. It for, you know, for them kind of just like dropping it and it's still being technically better.
Starting point is 00:40:00 Like it works really well. Like I haven't had like I've heard very few people complain about having problems with it, but I haven't had, I've heard very few people complain about having problems with it, but I haven't. I haven't heard some, but it's definitely not leave games. You will get temporarily banned. Yeah. I think that happened to Miles.
Starting point is 00:40:13 Yeah, I was playing with him. And he just throughout the day, he'd left three games because it was like, oh, somebody just joined the party where as they started, okay, let's just leave. And he got temporary banned for like 10 minutes. Didn't you just say you have like purving on my game? I was playing. You're spectating. Yeah, well, it's not even just spectating. You can, you, you can go to somebody you can watch them while they're playing and it pulls up the full theater file
Starting point is 00:40:34 for everything they've done up to that point. Oh, and you can just be like, how, how's your game gone? Machinamos. Yeah, I was cheering and celebrating right now. I bet like vocalist streamers can have people like recombing their games and having it ready as the game is for like some sick highlights. Well, imagine doing griffball highlights. Yeah, like, it's like you could have, it'd be like if you had commentators, like if you're watching a sports game nowadays
Starting point is 00:40:56 and like, let's see that in-state replay. Yeah, it's a wonderful happen. Hit watch, pulls the file, go and do it. I feel like that was like the big news with Halo 5 as they were trying to make it more esports friendly. Yeah, I remember work, yeah and do it. I feel like that was like the big news with Halo 5 as they were trying to make it more eSports friendly. Yeah, I remember work, yeah. And that was kind of like, I think where people ran into friction,
Starting point is 00:41:10 because it's like, well, you're taking what makes Halo a little away from it, but trying to make it more like in a rena shooter like that. But I think they're getting closer with this one. I don't know if this is in five or not, but I think you're saying in theater mode, like it actually like, it has check marks for like, okay, you got a kill here.
Starting point is 00:41:26 Like you get fast forward to that. It was helpful for me, for example, for like I was trying to grab footage of Bernie's triple kill with a hammer that he got the other day. Yeah, and I just had to look for like three very close together skulls as I, well, I'm just gonna skip right to that. Very handy.
Starting point is 00:41:38 That's cool. What if a, can you choose a filter what icons appear like I died here, or no, I want to see my kills, or. I don't know, I haven't gone too far into it. I got a here or no I want to see my kills or I don't know I haven't gone too far into it I got a stick so I did notice that you can also I remember in Halo 3 definitely you couldn't go into POV on anyone who wasn't you I don't think so you had to be third person on this one you can you can go into anyone's POV yeah it started as your POV well I yeah
Starting point is 00:42:03 joined just nice when I was when I was watching you See how you did it'll be per yeah, I Just looking through the options. I was like watch. Oh cool. I can expect it. That's why I thought I was gonna be I thought I'm gonna put me in live and it's like no Check out performance do I like to watch can switch. Can you go to outer like? Like not PV Third person or like as the what are they called the little pretty camp? Yeah, not P.O.V. Third person or like, as the, what are they called the little one? Free camp?
Starting point is 00:42:29 Yeah, free camp. Yeah. So I don't know. I haven't done it while the game's going on, but you definitely can in the fit. Because then could you like run support for your friends playing like, oh, they're hiding over here?
Starting point is 00:42:38 It's not live. It's not live. It's just like, I think the way they are. Up to that moment. That makes sense. That was like, that was like, that's what's exploitable. Yeah, you could just hop in and be like well, they're hiding that would be Yeah, have you played yeah played a place a bit not a ton. Did you play with
Starting point is 00:42:52 Rando's you don't play with your friends? No, cuz then I got to like talk to them. I got a hit set We can play I'll play silent Okay, so I'm gonna play the fun then like if I get if I like get mad I can just turn it off Yeah, you know, I can just turn it off. You know, I don't have to be like, oh, goodbye, or leave in. Just like, I'm fucking. Yeah, no, it's a, I'm probably a playnight honestly. It's a, I'm getting better.
Starting point is 00:43:13 I'm honestly, Metroid Dread is kind of holding me back because I want to finish it. So it's like the thing was like, I've got to finish this fucking game. Then I went to the last boss, so hopefully, let's, let's, let's, let's just, it We got capture car. Let's do a lot problem is It's a multi-phase boss fight and I've got phase one down But it takes you so long to get to phase two. I haven't learned all the phase two yet
Starting point is 00:43:34 It's a bad just wait until phase three. No And even though there was a phase three whoops It's fine. Don't worry about you're okay. Just go you can go get the collectibles too. What's the best? What's the best boss fight? Best boss fight And like any game or Metroid any game Hmm, I think it's not a specific fight per se, but I think not a specific fight per se, but I think recruiting, assembling and giving your team up at the end of Mass Effect 2 to do all of the different tasks and like, yeah, try to keep everyone alive. Yeah, try to keep everyone alive and all come together to do this mission.
Starting point is 00:44:15 I think that was fucking phenomenal. I think that was an amazing way to approach the end of that game. The fight, not so great itself, but the process leading up to it, which is not the answer to play that again. I just replayed it when it came out again, remastered. There's no way we're going to choice question. As a kid, do you have a place Super Mario Land on the Game Boy? Oh, yeah. Yeah. Where the final boss is this thing that like shoot shit that becomes like three smaller shit and you're just like I was really bad at games as my kid as a kid so I didn't beat a lot of games I don't think that was one of the few gay I think it might be in the first game I beat
Starting point is 00:44:54 Really? Yeah, but it was it was a stressful final fight. I was a lot of shit all over the screen I remember loving the Encounter with Bowser at the end of Super Mario world Which is the one on the SNES where he's like in that little airship with the repeller at the bottom. He's like start bouncing around. And Maccacoup is, I remember having such a sense of accomplishment when I finally beat that game. Really loving that final fight. The end boss of Glover is great.
Starting point is 00:45:18 That's like Glover forgot about that one. The X-inner, the Gekko. Rayman, but like the first one. Yeah. The good one. I was gonna give it an actual good one, so I just was trying to get the word. I didn't like, I don't know,
Starting point is 00:45:32 because I'm thinking of stuff that's like really fun, but it's all like level mechanics. I was like, maybe something in psycho knots. I guess it got some good ones. But I can't, yeah, I can't really, for life, let me pin one down. I feel like there's an easy one. Hollow Knight has a lot of very good boss battles.
Starting point is 00:45:56 I don't know if any of them are necessary. Did you ever play, did you ever hear of a game on the Sega? No, called Wiz and Liz. No, I've heard of it. I don't know anything about it. It's a little tiny little bastard wizard, right? You don't do anything in the game, apart from collect rabbits and throw and make potions,
Starting point is 00:46:13 and you like, he's just a simulator. Very nice, friendly kids game. Yeah. Except the boss is, the first boss is this massive, creepy sunflower that's going back and forth, and you start firing magic into it and then you like pop its eyes out And there's like big like open wounds Groose him and every boss is kind of the same. It's just like a big. Oh, I see you're talking about I looked it up It's pretty scary and then it's nose like comes off. It's like if you listen to game for fans like
Starting point is 00:46:41 Tomacly pop off for like really? like comic book pop off or like really? I guess you used to do that where like they would have the beginning of the game be like, oh, you're clearly a kid playing this, but we don't expect kids to get to the final boss because like Kirby, like nightmares, super scary. Yeah. And then, uh, oh, earthbound? Earthbound definitely got some like eariness. Like as you get towards the end, just like what the hell is this thing?
Starting point is 00:47:04 Yeah. But earthbound's also kind of creepy all the way through. It goes from like weird to like unsampling. Yeah. Well, like it's like the second area you go to like full occult. It's a second or third area. Yeah. Got a great one in chat, Dante, DJA says, end of portal two.
Starting point is 00:47:20 Yeah. What? Yeah, that was a good one. That was phenomenal. Great boss fight. Oh, Undert tail is a lot of good bosses Yeah, when you said sunflower started thinking of under tail under tail. Oh under tail That's like the I mean, it's such a good game, but that's like the meat of it That went out of emotion behind it might by the time you get to the end. Yeah, especially that was hard for
Starting point is 00:47:41 Sans oh my god The end of pull to is-to is a great shout. What a moment in video games. I remember. Oh, that Eric said a middle gear solid four. Solid. That's a great one. Was that actually solid?
Starting point is 00:47:59 That game. Man, that game was such a genius. PS3? That was PS3. God. Yeah, but I mean the the final boss was great But then it was like how long was the final cut? It was like an hour and a half Like an hour and a half at the end of that game. Yeah, the last fight with like liquid. Ocelot is so cool
Starting point is 00:48:14 Yeah, it just takes you like through all the games. I think it's so I think it's great I Think we talked about that before how Dan came over once to and he was about to finish that game But it was New Year's Eve and we were like to go out came over once to and he was about to finish that game, but it was new as Eve. And we would like to go out. The game was the end of so long we always miss the end is so fucking long in that game. That's how there's a couple. There's a couple moments in Fancy 14 where it's like, Hey, go ahead and take
Starting point is 00:48:37 at make sure you've adequate time to watch this cutscene because it's going to take you an hour. At least by the way, it's working warns you. Yeah, it says you're about to enter the cinematic portion of our playthrough experience. Yeah, it's like, oh, well, I guess I'll do this tomorrow. I felt like that way when I played quantum break. It was quantum break, right?
Starting point is 00:48:53 That remedy game where it's like at the full, like, the video cut scenes, we're like, oh, shit, a cut scene just start like, do I have 22 minutes to watch? Oh, god, here we go. I didn't even think about MMO boss fights. Oh, like, there's some great ones. Safety dance from next Ramos and always digs out world of workout has some great boss that she She even has a 14 is very good. Yeah, I love she the fucking rock music that they do. Yeah Oh some of the dashes on you. Yes, please destiny raid bosses were pretty good
Starting point is 00:49:22 Destiny did really go with the rates are it some shit? The experience of the first destiny raid bosses were pretty good destiny did really go with rates are it some shit? Mm-hmm the the experience of the first destiny raid is Like I don't know whenever I get that again. Yeah, just because it was like like been playing this game super into it Okay, they're adding a raid like this is interesting like what is it gonna be and like figuring it out together like That doesn't happen very often. Yeah I remember Stephen Hunter just tried the raid in a video and we couldn't even get in the front door. Yeah. Oh, this is, we got to go away and come back.
Starting point is 00:49:47 This is very interesting. But, I remember, I think the group I was in like one person had already done it, so they would just give us hints. And the rest of us were like, try and figure out it's like an escape room basically at that point. Yeah. Cooler. I feel somewhere you just didn't play any destiny too.
Starting point is 00:50:00 I didn't. I couldn't get into it. I don't know what. Same. I loved the first one. No. It's brilliant. My dad still plays it. He stopped, I think.
Starting point is 00:50:08 No. What's he playing now? Nothing. Haley plays the Destiny. He stuck on my trip Metroid Red 2. Yeah. He's going to take your amiibo thanksgiving. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:16 He won't play any game. For the longest time, he went playing a game, said, Taylo, and then I just bought him Destiny. I was like, now you have to play it. And then he loved Destiny, he loved Destiny 2. But now he's tired. He's like the way they're taking the game. I've got like the British AI, the Butler one in Halea. Oh yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:30 And it's very much reminds me of Destiny. Does it feel all offensive slightly? Oh, what? To you? To British one? No. When we played the other night, I accidentally made fun of you in a British accent and I was like, was that okay?
Starting point is 00:50:42 I was moving. You feel British? Yeah, I'm happy. Somewhere back up the line. Yeah, I'm at your dud. Yeah. This episode of Ruchitheath podcast is brought to you by DraftKings.

Starting point is 00:52:14 Well, and then I had a little bit of time before the meeting was supposed to start. And I was like, ooh, I've got like 30 minutes right now, I'm already sitting on my computer, like, you're having a play some flight simulator, right? Like I was like, I was getting in and out, like I hooked my, all my stuff back up, the yolk play some flight simulator, right? Like I was like, I was getting him and I hooked my, all my stuff back up, the yolk and the pedals
Starting point is 00:52:27 and the throttle and everything, and I launched it. And it was like mandatory, 36 gigabytes update. I was like, fuck, what? I've got a gigabit in and it may be to go fast, but it was only downloading like a 200 megabits. And it was like, yep, I sat through, wasted all that 30 minutes, still going throughout the entire meeting.
Starting point is 00:52:43 I was like, fuck, didn't get to play it. I I plugged everything back into the computer. Nope. I had to un-unscrew it on hook at all. Could you know how the meeting while fly? It was still downloading. Yeah, but in future, could you do that? Yeah. Yeah, come on. Set it up. We thought you paid attention to us. I haven't said a little bit. He right now. I mean, once you get it up in the air, it's kind of just coast and that point, right? Yeah, that flies itself. Yeah. Did you see in the new, like the,
Starting point is 00:53:13 I think it was the 737 following one? Oh, is that what I was downloading? I don't know. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Thrustmaster flights tick. It's like $1,000 for the whole thing. Like the petal's still there. Like the petal's still there already? Probably, yeah. $1,000? It's for like three different pieces.
Starting point is 00:53:30 Like you can get different aspects of it, but like the whole package, you think it was like $1,000. Since I started taking flying lessons, I get like the email blasts from all these online stores that sell like flying gear. Yeah. And like that's in every fucking email. It's like, hey, look at this new flight simulator. So I don't look at it.
Starting point is 00:53:49 I'm sure I've seen it. But it's always like, here, look at this. $1,000. Like you said, like super excited. I'm not buying any of that. I've already got my setup that I'm happy with. Could you, could you hook up like an actual planes controls to flight simulator? I'd not legally for sure. Okay. Well, let's not worry about that. Technically I don't think so.
Starting point is 00:54:12 You do a lot of questions. Yeah, someone who's a lot smarter than me can probably pack it and figure it out. But I think legally you can't do that. Why legally? Because you have to be there. Like you have to use a FAA approved controls and it ought to be. Oh, So you're saying like robotically fly it from hell. I was actually in the opposite Okay, that's what I was saying a lame reversion. Yeah like yours is cooler in the car sit in the plane Yeah, I was thinking you sit in a plane a place later. Yeah. Yeah, you're just cooler Yeah, I was like wait a second. Yeah, that's what I thought you said. Yeah Well, yeah, I'm sure you could Figure something like if you weren't making it fly it's probably easier to do that. Yeah, I mean it's like when you play that car game in the Tesla
Starting point is 00:54:51 Really driving it? Yeah, but you got to be in part. I sure yeah Your version is more interesting. I mean if we can do surgery online with robots Flying up planes last I don't know who's who's willing to get that surgery done. I think it's in the same room. Maybe I watched episode TV. I know I mean it's at least like with robots. Yeah, but I feel like that's I don't trust Wi-Fi. I don't trust Wi-Fi. Yes, I don't think I'll put my life in inspection tanks. Now it's in like the same room and it's like direct connection and it's like okay well
Starting point is 00:55:24 this is too small for my head in there Tell someone like away some noodles and then Yeah, when you go to like before you get your surgery like what internet provider do you have it spectrum because I've it's Spectral I'm going somewhere else back. They your mom calls somebody on the phone while you're mid surgery The hand just starts like To the point where a lot of accessories are more expensive than the console. We close. Like, I haven't got one, I've never used it.
Starting point is 00:55:50 You know the little thing that can slide into the back of a series X or a series S? It's like the storage, but it's fast enough to be like, play games off of. It's a modern memory card. Yeah. There's like a two terabyte one coming out. There's like $400. And it's only, I mean you get like an two terabyte one coming out. There's like $400. Geez. And it's only, I mean, you get like an eight terabyte hard drive for less. Yeah. And you can't play the newer games from it. That's a shitload of money
Starting point is 00:56:15 for a little two terabyte thing. You can't even play games from it. You can play games from any, no, you can play games from the thing. Oh, okay. But I'm saying you can get like a hard drive this eight terabyte. Oh, you're saying that a if you win it best buy and walked and buy a hard drive and walked out you couldn't play Halo on just the hard drive. No, no, you can. No, right. You're right.
Starting point is 00:56:36 It's the newer games. Yeah, like the ones that in the dashboard say series X. Yeah, series S. You have to play those from the internal storage. Oh, okay. One of the little things or You can put other games on a box-standard You have to be hard drive. Yeah, you know the PS5 to yeah, like you put like PS4 games off of like an external But you have to like put in an SSD and it has to be like right one of the specific ones with like the cooling fins on it and like that Fifths, hey, do you need to need a an NVME drive?
Starting point is 00:57:09 Like a like yeah, I actually bought the one without the heat sink and I can't return it. So if anybody needs one, let me know. Oh my god. Huh? I'll look it up. It was like it was like a terabyte and it was like 80 bucks, I think. I don't remember. We'll talk.
Starting point is 00:57:22 I think consoles are on the way to just becoming computers. Well, maybe they always were the kind of are well, like more so like even more because the console you're supposed to get the entire package in one deal. Like you plug and play. Now it's like, okay, well, you get the hard drive. You get modular upgrades. It's always been even the N64 had like the memory expansion pack and stuff like that. and the rubble pack controllers. True. Do those work with the, then I see you know, they probably don't for the like the new N64 controller has haptics already probably I don't think it has that plug in the back.
Starting point is 00:57:55 Not in the full experience. Damn kids. I'm sure I'm sure it's already built in. It's probably a cherry party built in. What a weird thing like, oh, you want four speedback? Add it on. I still have that rumble pack. Let me use it.
Starting point is 00:58:09 It did feel cool as a kid like, chup, chup, chup, chup. Plug everything in and feel like you were like a mechanic. You're ready to go. Yeah, I also saw an Xbox headset that was $500. That's not it. Now immediately I was thinking, that's obscene. Yeah. And you're not still thinking that? However, okay. It was made by Bang and Olivesin, which have like really high-end
Starting point is 00:58:31 audio. And then I thought, well, compare that to like an Apple headphones. Yep. Maybe it isn't a bad price because you're just if you if you use them for headphones, that can also sink. That was your Xbox. Maybe that's good. I was a weird thing. Like, that's the worst thing ever to, is that a good deal? And I settled on, I don't know, I'm not getting it.
Starting point is 00:58:52 You probably still being a little extra than just getting like a, the only way to find out is just to get it. But I think, like, if you find like a, you find like an $80 Xbox headset. That's fine for Xbox, but you can't do anything else for it. No, it's gonna sound bad. Yeah, it's not terrible.
Starting point is 00:59:09 I mean, yeah, if they sound, if I could just use it anywhere. Yeah, but it's one of those things. It's like, who's that for? Oh, audio files aren't gonna be playing Xbox probably. I don't know. That's a broad generalization. It was, wasn't it?
Starting point is 00:59:22 Yeah. Yeah, who do you think makes the sounds for the Xbox? Audio files. Okay. Let me know in the chat or comments. Do you own the $500 bang on a listen Xbox collaboration? And can I have them? Headset.
Starting point is 00:59:37 And can you send them to me? I would, at this point, I would sell pinky tail for a series X. I'm gonna be honest. I just want one so I can't give it Yeah, I'm trying that way about the the PS5 Really? Still haven't got one thing. I'm shocked how difficult they are still to find you know It's been they've been out for you. I'm still I looked out. I got both consoles. I'm still trying to buy a 3080 Yeah, I can't get that. I went into you know, I was in I was in target earlier before I came
Starting point is 01:00:03 I was picking up some stuff And I just went over to the PS the Sony area the Xbox area Didn't have any PS5s also saw this sticker on The window the Xbox one X the world's most powerful console available November 7th 2017 They still have that up. It's been so years when I saw that I was like well, they probably don't have any team. They still have that up. It's been four years. When I saw that, I was like, well, they probably don't have any pants. I don't know. Next box one at a time. Even manufacturer that anymore. I forgot that was a thing.
Starting point is 01:00:30 Because I have the Xbox one. I had a one X. I must still have it. I probably just isn't that. What's the name of the future? I'm a robot that replaced. Robot one X. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Replace Bender. Yeah. It's watched the episode less. Very good. I was thinking of flexo. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah, yeah replace bender. Yeah, I just watched the episode last night very good I'll see in a flexo. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yes, yes, also The other robot that replace the bender. Yes kind of kind of Yeah, it's crazy. I and I think they said that the console shortage is gonna last well through next year as well, but they're so
Starting point is 01:01:02 Backed up. They're so backed up, they can't make enough of them. Life's hard. It's the damn supply chain. I just want, I just want to sell. I want to sell. I'm a blue for you, that's a console. I have a work question, you'd ask someone. Oscar, is it, is it, is it have to be potato chips? Yeah, man, what do you need? I got you.
Starting point is 01:01:23 When do we take our COVID tests for next week because of the holiday? Monday morning. Okay. Thank you. Okay. You don't want to go in the day after Thanksgiving and get swapped? I still know what I'm getting on Gavin has a follow up question. What if the year is 445 days long when it's a bit smart? Smart.
Starting point is 01:01:39 The 29th of smart. Do we budget for Q5 COVID tests? Oh, man, yeah, fucking nightmare. Yeah, it's fucking crazy. I hate that we still have to get those stupid COVID tests every week. At least they didn't touch the back of your head. Yeah, neither. No, it's anymore. Now they're kind of fun. Are they? Yeah. We look what we call what calls a alluding to us now we administer them ourselves. Yeah. But you just have to like do a little lap of the nostril. You don't have to go back and get to count to 10. Tell me to go back. They told me to do something not to. Yeah. They said don't go back. They said just do this now. Oh. Why am I going
Starting point is 01:02:20 back? They said they say that it shouldn't hurt, it should just tickle. Oh, yeah, they like most good things. For extra life, Josh and Ellis was doing that. And they were like, okay, this time you don't have to go all the way to your fault. And they're like, never mind. Yeah, they said like do 10. And that's why I was like, this is torture. As I was doing it, I was like, why?
Starting point is 01:02:39 They didn't even used to do this one for a couple of minutes. The compromise, like, you don't go in as deep, but you do it in your ass. Yeah. Everyone's doing like 10 laps of the nostril, but I thought surely I have to do less. Like the biggest surface area of my life. I could probably get away with seven and get the same amount of travel. I read that in South Africa, the COVID tests, the difference of years between Earth and Mars.
Starting point is 01:03:02 The COVID tests in South Africa, they didn't use the nasal swab. They had to do throat swabs for COVID tests there. So they get barfed on. Yeah, I just average vomit's back up. Did you say you had to do one of those? Yeah, I went, I didn't, I didn't, I did a throat one. How was that? Could you put it?
Starting point is 01:03:19 Yeah. Did you look them in the eyes? Yeah. Yeah. That's good fun. J. Joker the podcast right there. Hey, can we make the other title? Did you look them in the eyes? He was shaking his head as he said that.
Starting point is 01:03:37 I don't think he's going to do it. I feel glad we had this podcast now. So I know I've been doing the COVID test for the last couple of weeks. Did they not look at you when you're doing it? They had been. You probably, you're such a regular. I went like this, like I didn't wasn't going like all the way up like that.
Starting point is 01:03:52 I was going like back like I was doing. I've given myself an all the way to the back one. I've done those. That's why I thought it was like that. These are different things. Yeah. I don't trust myself. So I just looked at her and said,
Starting point is 01:04:00 tell me when to stop. And I just, she told me to stop, and that's my dinner. You just like going all the way, and then she's looking at a phone. Oh, yeah. Say what? Say what?
Starting point is 01:04:08 I lost it. I need another one. I bet the best test would be the people who can like put a shoelace in their nose and pull out of their mouth. Oh, Jeff. Jeff, would like you to do with his dog tags. Have you never seen him do that? No.
Starting point is 01:04:21 Yeah, you don't want to. Still? No, it may have to hour about that. Does that feel good? Like you're cleaning everything out? Like a pipe, right? I think some, like in some countries they do that? No. Yeah, you don't want to. Still. No matter how they are about that. Does that feel good? Like you're cleaning everything out? Like a pipe. I think some like in some countries they do that like to clean out sinuses. Mm-hmm I was watching a program about people who lived in Who live in India and that's like a thing that they do there sometimes like not regularly but you know every so often to like
Starting point is 01:04:39 Clean out the sinuses. I don't be honest if if once every two years I went to a place and just said just like empty me out That's what I want for my ears. That would be I went to a place and just said just like empty me out. That's what I want for my ears. That would be me too. Just like I got one of those little camera things to do in my ear. You got one. I did. But I'm too afraid of my damage something like I don't go to film it. Just don't touch your eardrum. That's too late. It's already impact. It's deep in there. You go like scrape it off. Well I'm afraid to. I don't want to damage it. Have you seen those camera things like yeah, those things look so cool It's I got a doctor wants to get to remove like really some impacted your wax So you want just like a full body Yeah, just like every orifice that yeah, I was like five pounds immediately every two years
Starting point is 01:05:19 That's probably good. I was like if you have it too often you're like getting rid of natural defenses I'll eat a bunch of yogurt afterwards Not that you're gonna put up your nose or something? Yeah, like just probiotics, you know? I've heard. Yeah, clean up. Clean up. Like, you know, like if you get six and times new cough and like a lot comes out, it feels
Starting point is 01:05:35 good. One time when we were filming that immersion in Georgia at the race car one, I had a cold and like I coughed something up so disgusting and large that I took a photo of it with my phone. And I was like, that is the biggest thing I've ever coughed up. And like you said, I instantly felt better. I felt like everything that was back in my sinuses like all came out of one disgusting green glob.
Starting point is 01:05:57 And I was like, wow. I took a bus like, I'm going to remember this. If twice a year you just walked a building that hook up a vacuum to every orifice and just went every every hmm that'd be cool I would want that but more like a more surgical level like I would know and I'd be like take out all the shit that I'm gonna have taken out at some point get rid of the appendix yeah I bet the tonsils just scoop out all that stuff before I need it to be scooped I read the other day that now appendectomies are not let go to whenever there's an inflamed
Starting point is 01:06:28 appendix that they try to treat it with antibiotics or other treatments first. Really? There's only appendectomy. They probably like localized medicine. Well, because apparently like now there's new thought that the appendix is not as useless as we used to think it was. So if possible, it's best to try to keep it. What does it do? I guess it's the it's still not 100% known, but the current theory is that it's like a backup vault of all your good gut bacteria. So
Starting point is 01:06:56 it's something happens to them in your intestines. It's the archive. Yeah, it's a backup. So the appendix is what repopulates it. But, but sometimes it gets bad stuff in it gets stuck Yeah, something gets stuck in it or you can populate your buddy with bad stuff Yeah, you just put some yogurt in it. Yeah cool Yeah, you just put a reservoir of yuckel. Yeah, I just put a small vile of kombucha in my My test it grows itself, right? Yeah, that's fine. It's constantly replant. It's one percent. It's crazy that it does that Yeah, take my pandex out put that thing in there. Yeah, what about gold bladded? Do we need that one? I think you definitely, yeah, I think.
Starting point is 01:07:29 I'm pretty sure you need that one. Well, you get it removed, but it's not a deal. You get a kill removed as well. You get a lot of share removed or have two lungs. I can keep something else in there. Like an amoeba. Like a sandwich. Yeah, both. Same which. Like an amoeba. Like a sandwich.
Starting point is 01:07:46 Yeah, both. A sandwich that isn't amoeba. No, okay. Is that fine? No, that's fine. I was just saying that. I was thinking about Cheebie Robo. No, I have that amoeba.
Starting point is 01:07:58 I temporarily wasn't listening because I was just trying to make sure it wasn't going to shit. That's why I missed your joke. Oh no, I was making a joke that inside of one of my lungs I can have a sandwich that also acts as an amoevo. You glad I said it twice now? That time I just tried to plan it as much. It was good.
Starting point is 01:08:15 It was hard to keep a straight face through. Now I kind of want to make you shit somewhere. It was a tickle fight. Don't take on me. I don't want to take on me. I don't want to take on me. I don't want to take on me. What? I don't know. I don't want to leave it was that even go to the bathroom
Starting point is 01:08:25 I felt no it's gonna I don't know it's something's gonna happen. Yeah, this is my small up here This is my worst nightmare Every time I go to take one of my flight lessons is like it's a small plane It's not like you can just stop and go to the bathroom. It's like. Oh, what do you do? Do you just have to shut on the floor? No, you don't shit. You're just like Happily you have to shut in the floor? No, you don't shit. You just like, What do you have to shut the window? I really shut the window. It luckily it hasn't come up,
Starting point is 01:08:49 but I don't want it to come up. How long have the flights? Prep, like not drink water or water. Yeah, I try not to. Like if it's late in the afternoon, then maybe I'll have coffee in the morning. I've been working home from long enough that if you told me that,
Starting point is 01:09:01 it's not that I go to the bathroom every hour, but if you told me I was not allowed to go to the bathroom for an hour, I would told me I was not allowed to go to the bathroom for an hour, I would have a panic attack. Yeah, yeah. It's just right there. It's like, yeah, yeah. Yeah, my blighters like this big now.
Starting point is 01:09:11 Do you remember times when you really needs to piss? And the thing that you were doing is burned into your memory and associated with that. Most of the time, it's staring at the wall of a movie theater bathroom. I can't watch the movie collateral with Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx because I needed to piss for about 40 minutes. And I thought I was going to die. I was just like, and I didn't want to miss the movie. So I just was like driving down to San Marcos, going to school there,
Starting point is 01:09:35 and I would take the bus because down at like South Park Meadows, they would take you down there. But then once you're on the bus, you can't stop. Like you're at, and so it's just like sitting in the, like every time I sit, like drive down there now, I pass like a building that I remember, it's like, you feel the, it's way in Japan. It's funny, you say that, because for me, it's like being on a school bus
Starting point is 01:09:53 in high school. I remember we were on like a school trip, we had driven like three hours to another city, and I needed to go to the bathroom really bad, and the bus driver got lost, and we were in a parking lot that had tons of speed bumps, and I was sitting like right over the wheel and we kept hitting speed bumps and I was like, oh my god, I'm gonna piss my pants in this school bus.
Starting point is 01:10:10 And I guess the point where I was like, you can think about is not pissing anything like if I think about something else, I might just piss and I just leak out and then finally get up and it's just like, you finally are able to move in a hurry. It has to move and sometimes you can't even piss straight away because your body has been holding in some records you have ever been. That happened whenever Eric and I were coming back from a wrestling show in Dallas. I didn't want to inconvenience everyone.
Starting point is 01:10:33 And I finally was like, I got to stop, guys. I'm gonna stop. We pulled over at a shell gas station off the freeway where there was a bunch of construction. The shell was closed. So I had to pretend to put gas in the car. So Cole could go behind the shell. Was it where the gas pumps were working at least?
Starting point is 01:10:50 No, everything was off. Everything was off. The lights were on, no one was on. Wow. Sorry, real quick, I had that happen to me recently where I was driving home from. Are you on Mike? Yes, I'm on Mike. I'm on Mike through a mic on me.
Starting point is 01:11:07 This happened to me when I was driving home from a friend's house and I had to pull behind a liquor store in piss and there was just a street cat and it sat and watched me from four feet, four feet, maybe. And I just kept the pall, I felt so bad. I just kept apologizing to the police. I know this is your territory. I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Did you take the cat and keep it as a pet? No, it seemed like he was well fed. It seemed like it was just a cat that's kind of like street cat
Starting point is 01:11:32 But out at night. They like to watch people pee. Yeah, it's kind of kind of a little pervert cat. Yeah. Yeah, one time I was having I was driving back home I was just in my family on the border and I was driving from Austin and I was getting I was passing through San Antonio Like I was on the other side of San Antonio and I was like, I got a pee really bad. This is a diamond shamrock ride, you know, coming up at this exit. I'm just gonna exit and I'm gonna go to the bathroom with the diamond shamrock. Classic. And so I exit, you know, go to the gas station, walk around. It's like, and it's a gas station with no bathroom. There's no bathroom anywhere.
Starting point is 01:12:00 That should be a little bit. Yeah, and it's daytime and I'm like, I'm about to piss my pants. So I'm like, so I like, I very like stealthily go. It was by an empty feels. I very stealthily act like I'm standing by the empty field. Like pissing in it, like looking away from the gas station. Ah! And then I like I finish a zip up turn around. And there's a cop car parked right there. Uh oh. But luckily, like they had just gotten there and they weren't looking at me. They were either talking to each other, like looking at the store or something. So I just like walked right past them, right back to my truck, got in, and I'm like, oh, thank God,
Starting point is 01:12:28 I could have gotten really bad. I know. I'm out to piss. I think you like that. Yeah, you know, that's my thing. You're not supposed to, but then if you're like, there's no bathroom. I think what I heard before,
Starting point is 01:12:37 and this could be just urban legend. I think with Bernie who told me this, that if you're giving like a citation for public, or for being in public like that, that you get put on the sex offender registry. Yeah, you're exposing yourself now. Come on now. Because you're exposing yourself.
Starting point is 01:12:51 You're weird as hell, yeah. Yeah, but think about it. It's just as mandatory as eating. Like you got a piss. Yeah. Yeah, but I think the thought is you find a place to do it. Yeah, they also just, it's the exposure and they also don't want piss and shit everywhere.
Starting point is 01:13:06 I mean, my go to is to buy a big, a big gulp cup and just go to the car and pee. Do you drink it for it? Or you just buy an empty cup? Yeah. Oh, I do drink it first. Yeah, I fill it up with it. In and out, coffee, so it way it's like speeding up the process. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:13:23 How do you buy empty cup? You just go up and say head like to buy the empty cup. They'll just look at you. They know. They'll just taste in this cup. Well, you can sometimes get them for free if you have sunflower seeds. If you buy sunflower seeds as well, they'll go,
Starting point is 01:13:33 oh, you're just going to spit your sunflower seeds in there. But for me, you've got to get a lot of sunflower seeds. Is that really the same thing that they make or that you made? They don't charge me for it. I go up and put up a sunflower seed in an empty cup and they go, OK, sunflower seeds, you're going're gonna go whoa. What if I piss through a cup If I cut the bottom of a cup out, yeah, you should be a mess piss, but my dick isn't visible. Is that oh? Okay, we're back
Starting point is 01:13:56 You probably won't get in decent exposure, but you probably still get like public your image to file meant to fire But I'm not really pissing on an alley. it, is it illegal to pitch your pants in public? Yeah. That's worse than exposure. That's worse. Worse. Yeah. That's worse than exposure has to be.
Starting point is 01:14:14 No, that's because you're going to stink. Well, it was a sacrifice. Yeah. Yeah, you're not enjoying it. Hey, you didn't have to see my weiner. I made my pants wet. That's like a fair. Well, you have to see, well, you only have to it. Hey, you didn't have to see my leaner. I made my pants wet. That's like a fair way to see it. Well, you only have to see the leaner once. You have to smell that for a while.
Starting point is 01:14:30 I think I'll buy new pants. You have what you got to go do that. Yeah. It's true. Then you're then you're dragging your piss pants through all of Target. Yep. You do curbside now. They'll bring it out to you. That's true. Then you got your pissy hands picking it up. It's a shame. Piss comes out the sex to all. Yeah, yeah, birds. Yeah, everything. How is that the second time a cloakers come?
Starting point is 01:14:58 How is it the second time in the same podcast that a cloakers come up in a different way? If a dick was just for pissing and not for well, yeah, sagging, right? It'll be perfectly fine to just whip out and one for piss, one for fun. I think the piss is what makes it worse, because that's like the excrement.
Starting point is 01:15:16 Yeah, but is it, is it the knob offensive? Because you say, because it's sex. It's a sex stuff. I think it's offensive because of all the dirty stuff that comes out I guess an anus is I was gonna say it's hard to know because a knob and an asshole They're too close are equally offensive. They should be farther right. Yeah, I mean that's that's a hole Yeah, or closer cloaca They think it'd be distinctly further apart or that doesn't solve the problem of peeing on a road trip
Starting point is 01:15:43 You're still exposing everything. Yeah, at least with a weiner you can pee a cup. Yeah. I just feel like she was seeing a stranger's erect penis. Why is it a wreck? No, I'm saying like that is definitely. Oh, wait. That's how they said it's flaccid and peeing and the guy is about to piss his pants. It's just like, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I have not tested this. I want to I want to come out. Maybe that's the way. No, this is it. You don't touch it. Well, no, because I'm not touching my weiner. I'm just peeing. I'm just peeing I have I have I have science No, apparently if you are erect It makes it easier to not pee
Starting point is 01:16:19 Yeah, like on a road trip. Yeah, so people have said when you're on a road trip and you got a pee If you're not why you can sometimes you got a pee, if you're racing, that way you can sometimes wake up with a little bit of a lullipon. I think so. Because your body was like, we got to hold this until we get up. Just like putting the cork in. Yeah. It's like putting your thumb in the end of a hose, basically.
Starting point is 01:16:37 Well, it's like sticking another hose in there and putting that hose out. No. No. Can we stop? Yeah, we can stop. OK. Has anybody started, El Starter watching the live action cowboy bebop on Netflix? I watched the first episode.
Starting point is 01:16:53 I've watched the first episode, too. I don't think it's for me. Well, no, that is also what I said. It's in a tough place to begin with right just such a beloved franchise but I think that there are times where they try to stick too close to recreating yeah and then when they do modifications it's not as good as the original in my opinion. So it's like you end up with weird like almost like a copy of the original that's not as wide as good. So it's, since they're not doing a separate, unique story,
Starting point is 01:17:28 it's impossible to not compare it to the original material. Yeah, that's to me exactly what was wrong with the pilot episode of the office, the US one, where it was trying to be exactly the same as the UK one, but slightly different. It was only when it became its own completely different thing that it was good. It became infinitely better than original.
Starting point is 01:17:44 Yeah, I actually think it is better than you. Yeah, I was trying to get a rise idea, but okay, that works. That's like, people keep saying, like, what are you going to take for an anime adaptation to be good? And it's like, make it a good TV show. Don't make it a good anime adaptation. Yeah. Yeah, I'm in the same, but I just, I can already watch the anime.
Starting point is 01:18:05 Yeah. So I want something that's very different and that can only happen in live action. Yeah. I don't, it had like, unfortunately in a bad way like Scott Pilgrim vibes, where like I had that like, hey look, we're bringing like a cartoon to life. Yeah. But I didn't feel like it needed. Well, I was like just having like a gritty live action thing would have been really cool.
Starting point is 01:18:26 There's also like to me fundamentally from like just from a production standpoint. There's big hurdles in translating it. Yeah. And the fact that they're trying to go so directly what hurts it in this aspect. Like I've only said, I only watched the first episode. But in the first episode, you know, what typically people get around, they have like small spaceships that they're dry, that they fly around in right from place to place, but because that's kind of
Starting point is 01:18:46 impractical to do, they're driving around in cars. Yeah. Like the, the, remember, the first episode would be about the guy who with the red eye drugs and the woman who looks like she's pregnant, like they leave the bar and they get in a car and they drive away. Yeah. It's like, well, there was a ship there. It's just like, it's a weird, it's in my own head. Yeah. It's like this doesn't, it's like a weird thing where they got here on the ship, but then they got in a car and they're driving around and they're going to leave on a ship. The way I feel about it is the same way I feel about,
Starting point is 01:19:10 like whenever they did the live, or the Lion King CG film, and all of a sudden, if this gets somebody to go watch the original, then cool. Like, it's not for me. I already think it was better. Like, I already like the animation. I think the animation was special.
Starting point is 01:19:25 That being said, I was talking to someone earlier today who said that they could never get into the cartoon. If the cartoon was too slow, and that they're really enjoying the Netflix show. Awesome. Cool. Yeah. It's not like a thing where I'm mad that it exists.
Starting point is 01:19:39 I just like he said, it's not for me. But maybe I want you to feel more episodes. I've seen a couple of people say like it gets better. Yes, some people chat to say they're like an episode. I've seen a couple of people say it gets better. Yeah, I see some people in chat say they're like an episode eight or nine and that they're really liking it a lot. So I'm gonna watch the whole thing. I can't wait it.
Starting point is 01:19:52 I already paid for Netflix. It's not like I'm not gonna watch it. Yeah, so I'll watch it all. You just gotta be matured right first. I do have to be matured right before anything else. Yeah, let's see. I just binged last night, Hellbound. I saw Kojima tweeting about that the other day.
Starting point is 01:20:09 It's weird. It's the same director who did a train to Besan. Which is great. And it does the same thing where it takes the premise of initially, you're thinking, oh, it's, so the premise is like, these weird angel demon things are just showing up and beating the shit out of random people who have been told by an angel beforehand that they're doomed to die in X amount of days. So like a crash does it goes you're gonna die in three days at 5 p.m. and then that happens and it's like these three Michelin tire guys
Starting point is 01:20:35 just running through the city picking them up like Hulk smashing them on cars and stuff and then is this live actually a live action okay it's based off of a webtoon though okay and they they just like burn them alive and it's like okay What's all the deal with this shows and cover any of that? It's the politics of cult forming around these things that happen Good. I thought it was really good. It took a while to Recalibrate because like I first was like I want to know what's going on with these angels I want to know what's going on here
Starting point is 01:21:03 But instead it's like no this one guy is like taking advantage of a situation and like saying oh it's because the people who are dying are clearly sinners. So if you don't sin you won't get this won't happen to you and exploring all the whenever that happens in an organization forms around that the that is people who are the ultimate like monsters. We are I don't mean to say I'm gonna make a quick correction in chat. Lulu Domenari says in the original asmov also drives a car. So I am way off based on the politics.
Starting point is 01:21:35 Did you ever watch speaking of going back to what you're talking about? Did you ever watch the leftovers? It was an HBO series. Someone went like three seasons, I think. Yeah. Well, you said they're at the end kind of maybe thing what the left over the premise and the leftovers was that one day just all of a sudden, 2% of the people on earth are gone.
Starting point is 01:21:52 And there are people who are left behind don't know. Like some people like, was it the rapture? Is there a holy thing where they called up to heaven? Yeah, like just they're just gone. No, no explanation. And it's how do the remaining 98% of people on earth continue living and like do they know like are we all inherently bad were we left behind was it really just think or was it if it was something else what the fuck was it yeah where are all these people are they live are they dead and just like and so
Starting point is 01:22:14 people are taking advantage of the situation being like well it's we can show you the way that you can join them in that kind yeah exactly so yeah it's a it and I really I really really like to just I didn't watch it while it was on it was one of those things were like during lockdown. I think I started watching it And I enjoyed the fuck out of it. It sounds kind of shoot that here the shot that here Yeah, so sometimes you're like oh, I know exactly where that is. I've been to that car washers Like in Austin. Yeah, whoa I was on a plane once coming back from England and I saw the person sitting next to me had a script
Starting point is 01:22:43 And I said the left over is the top I was like oh this guy must be coming to film something and it was Christopher Eccleston Oh, yeah, he was one of the he was one of the he wasn't like one of the main character But he was a he was a very major character in the in the leftovers. I let him my pen Because he was making this good. He was I really really liked his character. He saw that pen No, he's got it. Well, you gave it to him. You didn't lend it to him. You didn't give it to him.
Starting point is 01:23:07 Yeah, that's not what that word was. It was supposed to be a lend. I mean, people go, can I borrow a stil- You lent it and then he stole it. And then I've said, keep it. Everyone in chat is talking about it. Who is Arcane? I haven't, so I haven't started watching it yet
Starting point is 01:23:21 and I'm glad you brought it up. He's like, I assume you watch it. Oh, yeah, absolutely brought it up like I see you watch. Oh, yeah Absolutely. I've never played League of Legends like is it perfect even perfect? Oh really? Yep, I You could I could not tell you I could look at a screenshot I could not tell you the difference between a League of Legends or Dota 2 or whatever the fuck the other ones are I don't know anything about those games. I'm three of us. It's an arcane. It's great Yeah, it has a lot of characters who don't show up in the games at all. I like it from the point that I've been playing League of Legends for 10 years
Starting point is 01:23:52 and so it's cool to see a character that I showed up as just a sniper now have a completely fleshed out backstory that is told in honestly like reminiscent to me of like early game of thrones where it's like these point of view characters and them crossing paths and I just imagine that there's a lot you can probably attest this there's probably a lot of things that you're other people who are familiar with it go like oh cool reference yes and you also go I know what this character looks like now and they don't look like this what the the fuck happened to them? Right. And it's especially interesting seeing people attach themselves to some characters.
Starting point is 01:24:28 It's like, oh, you don't know some things, huh? It's very good. But yeah, it's really good. Animation is amazing. I figured that they might be up to like doing some narrative storytelling in that universe with all like the KDA music videos and like trying to build out they that kind of story. I built such a robust world and they've also gone back a lot and like retconned a lot of stuff
Starting point is 01:24:55 since the initial like champions launching and stuff but it was it's cool that they have so many other opportunities now because like maybe in the game in the show, there's like five or six characters from the game, and they have like over roster, I think like a roster of over 100 or something. So there's still a whole bunch of other stories they can tell, and they don't even have to go back to this. And I guess like maybe obviously don't spoil stuff, but like does League of Legends have like a primary story? It's changed a lot, but yeah, okay, there's like They talk about in the show a lot. So this is like talking about piled over and Zon. Yeah, which are like two nations And then there's they talk about store mode League of Legends is there? No, okay, okay versus they do it all through like character dialogue or
Starting point is 01:25:39 Comics or like like Overwatch. Yeah, okay. Yeah, yeah, Overwatch. I would say even has more yeah, thank you. I would say Overwatch even has more story okay presented to you in it than legal. Legal, I just will do stuff everyone so I'll wear like they had an event that's like oh we're opening this new map because we're going to tell the story of these three sisters vying for rulership of this like frostland but it's going to be a wrap. I'll have to add it to my list of stuff to watch. Maybe watch that and then watch Can we be Bob? Or start a bebop. I got to finish. Or alternate where you can go, okay, can we be okay? I need a...
Starting point is 01:26:13 That sounds like how? I do this. I have to have like refreshers. What's with his that person I was talking to earlier who liked the who was really enjoying the live action beb, but didn't care for the animated one, said that they found the animated show to be too slow, but that the Netflix adaptation, they found a lot more their speed. I said, that was weird, it was weird comment because I was like, the first
Starting point is 01:26:38 episodes are kind of similar, but the animated series is a 22 minute episode and the live action was 50 minutes and you feel like that one moved faster They're like, yeah, interesting. Okay. That's a interesting take on that interesting note. I wouldn't have thought that they dropping bread comes earlier Or is it pretty one-to-one? It's not one-to-one at all. Okay. Like there are some things that are one-to-one and then there are things that go totally off the rails phase-introducing episode one And in a totally different manner than in that period. But what you were talking about,
Starting point is 01:27:11 so I don't wanna keep going back, the B-Bop course. Does anybody else watch the expanse? I need to. Okay, season six is starting in a couple of weeks. Yeah. And it's the last season. So if you ever thought about watching that show,
Starting point is 01:27:23 like now is the time to watch now catch up to Binge and get caught up because you won't be like oh, I finished it. I got to wait forever to finish it like you'll get the complete story I don't know if season six is any good or not. I haven't seen it but the first five seasons were awesome And they were so good. I failed in my mission this year My mission was to watch all 999 episodes of one piece before the thousandth episode aired on Saturday. I'm not, I'm not, I'm not, I'm not the 500s. Wait, is it this coming Saturday?
Starting point is 01:27:52 It just passed. Oh, okay. It's very good. Oh, it's really good. Very, very good. But one piece I can never recommend anyone to watch it. I'm like, it's really good. It's, they're making a live, it's, they're making a live action of it.
Starting point is 01:28:05 Right. Yeah. And the mangaka, he's picking the cast and going to be helping out a lot with directing. You say a thousand episodes, like it's a bad thing. Is it? It's really good, but it's also, I don't think they've ever really stopped production. They've been going, like they don't have like a season off. They've been going like every season since maybe with like
Starting point is 01:28:27 some hiatus's. So the problem is they have a lot of filler. Yeah, and commitment to. Yeah, it's also a commitment to say, hey, if you watched one episode of One Piece a week, it would take you like 20 years to catch up to where the show is now. Yeah. And so it's like, okay to catch up to where the show is now. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:28:45 And so it's like, okay, you have to watch a lot and then... Yeah, I... And they're still putting on new episodes. Yep, during that. Years ago, a long time ago, I just wanted to try to... Because I was everywhere, I was like, what the fuck is in a ruto? Like everyone is in to it. I'm gonna start watching it.
Starting point is 01:29:00 And I got to what you're talking about. I was like, oh, there are a lot of filler episodes. We're literally nothing happens. Filler guides. Yeah, it's just like, oh, there's a lot of websites that are dedicated just like, you can just skip these episodes. Here's what happens. Here's the only important thing. Yeah, the best ones are the ones that tell you what the good filler is. Yeah, there's good filler. There's one. What do you want to skip good filler?
Starting point is 01:29:18 No, you don't. That's why you watch those. Oh, but that's not filler at that point. Because like, there's like a like one of the most notorious episodes of like Dragon Ball Z is they learn to drive cars And it's everyone's like oh you can skip that one I like it's good like yeah, but it's filler. Yeah, if you're going through especially with one piece if you're trying to catch up and you have to watch One piece also has a problem of There is there are 22s and only 13 to 15 minutes of new information because they just reuse
Starting point is 01:29:48 the last few minutes and then it's funny there's some reality shows I watch that I've thought about re-editing to like cut out like previously on next time and like all the commercial breaks and like the overlap it's like if you watch like a two hour show, there might be 40 minutes of content in there, cause there's so much retelling and repeating stuff. How many of us does a Pokemon on that? Because the hard drives, they split that into different like series, they also like retcon timelines and stuff with Pokemon.
Starting point is 01:30:19 Bust, there's a lot. Yeah, I don't, it's not that much, cause like the first see, the first series feels a lot longer than it is, but I think it's only like 52. Then, I mean, yeah, in a go. And then, Joe, though, I think it's like about that as well. There's there's a good number of episodes of Pokemon. I remember watching as a kid and it would it would get to a certain point and then restart. Yep. In the beginning. And then you go the way through and then it would get a little
Starting point is 01:30:42 bit further. You'd be like, ah, and then restart and it's like, we just up to where they're making them or like, yeah, I was just like, or translating and eating it over here because like, yeah, I think I, I was always like a horror story of a young anime fan going to the store and saying, oh, there's Dragon Ball Z and it's like, they're in the middle of the cell saga and I buy a VHS and it's in the boo saga. I'm like, who are all these people? Like I don't recognize any of these characters. Yes, it's like do I start buying every VHS now? Or do I just keep watching and have to like wait for the next one? Well then I've missed a yeah three arc Run of some like I don't know I was just like one random VHS. Okay. Yeah
Starting point is 01:31:21 It was like the newest VHS I target and they don't have any of the previous ones and it's like just released. I feel like things are getting a lot better now. Like you talk about like how this used to be. Like I remember even when stand alone complex was coming out and airing in Japan. It was like there was no US distribution for it. Yeah. So you'd have to wait for it to air in Japan. Then someone would do like a fan dub. Yeah. Or not a fan sub fan subs upload it, and you download it, and you'd watch it, and you'd be like, this is, this is, this is, this is, this doesn't make any sense. I don't, I don't speak Japanese. I don't know how to consume this, and there's no legal way for me to watch this. So it's like, I'd watch them,
Starting point is 01:31:54 and then years later, like at official DVD, or Blu-ray would come up like, thank God, I can finally understand what the fuck was going on in this show. Well, then it's going to the show, so you still, right. Only kind of members can, when Lost Season One was on in the show? Well, then it's going to the show, see still. Right. Only kind of members. I remember. When Lost Season 1 was on in the UK on Channel 4, it already, like halfway through, it already finished in the US and came out on DVD.
Starting point is 01:32:14 So I just bought the DVD. Yep. And I was so immensely popular holding that box that was like, I've got five episodes and no one's seen it. You can see the answer. Yeah. Got the answers right here. They would have a region one DVD player.
Starting point is 01:32:27 Well, unfortunately for them, it was lost. And there are no answers. All right, we need to wrap this up. Thanks everybody for watching. We'll see you guys next time. Bye. Bye. Bye.
Starting point is 01:32:40 Watching NFL on a DVD. And I'll be right back. watching NFL on a DVD. Do you like apples? Alright, example.
