Starting point is 00:00:00 It's time to put your pedal to the metal. From the twisted minds behind Deadpool and Zombieland, an executive producers, Will Arnett and Anthony Mackie comes the new Peacock original series, Twisted Metal, a high-oxane action comedy based on the classic video game series. Anthony Mackie stars as John Doe, a motormouth outsider who must deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. If he can survive the drive, also starring Stephanie Beatriz, Samoa Joe, Nev Campbell, Will Arnett, and Thomas Hayden Church.
Starting point is 00:00:40 Twisted metal, streaming only on peacock. They come together every Thursday afternoon The Rooster Teeth, oh it's the Rooster Teeth Yes, it's the Rooster Teeth podcast It's the Roster Teeth Podcast Okay, so that guy did one thing well and one thing I guess hairably I'm not gonna say which was which But congratulations on half of that sir I guess Thursday afternoon rhymes better than Wednesday morning Well, I've been getting a lot of shit from making fun of the songs lately

Yeah, this is Jack from achievement hunter. It gabs a douche So I've been listening to the podcast all week and you hyped up your mystery guest We had twice in two different episodes and then then I listen to these podcasts and no mention
Starting point is 00:02:17 Well, hey, we might have another guest. I wasn't sure if we were gonna wait because you came a little late in the day a little later Then I normally like to record the podcast. We typically do podcast that like 9 a.m. So yeah, yeah, so I do do that That's when it takes fucking hours to get the shit turned around This is I'm gonna let you a little secret on how work works how you when you not fucking Jobless and living in an apartment with a cat to cat most peep two cats Most people get up early in the morning like let's say seven eight and they go to work and they're there by nine and at nine o'clock They start working, but I stay up to like seven or eight. Is that count? P.A. you're a highly touted guest? I think we should have had a couple of others by the way.
Starting point is 00:03:05 I like to think that you go. Is that big? From a ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch- I forgot how frail you are maybe you'll make it way in your shoulder and down into your little penis Then make it all tingling feel funny. I'm massive. That's an American vibe right there. God You keep us updated on your arm. I'm sure everyone's fucking fascinated and can't wait Yeah, please how your how the situation your arms tell us more about how you're a fucking winp Oh, geez. That was that was my own clicking. That was his elbow. Yeah, yeah, hey Jack So you just got in today and we decided to drag you in here under the podcast Oh, what games have you been playing? What do you what do you been doing? Well, I mean I've been working on the oldest ODST audio files That was my big thing I put together that map like the day it came out so too slow
Starting point is 00:03:59 Thank you. Yeah, no, I mean that was a thing. It was kind of like it's kind of sad seeing these things popping up because the I guess the French leak or whatever So people were getting access to the game earlier and putting out stuff and it's like we play by the rules and get screwed Yeah, some people broke the street date. What do you say right as well? Some still yeah, they don't always happen always happens Actually, there's a store near where I live out in LA that that regularly breaks street But they actually broke street and sold out of odious tea I could get there I bought I got kind of fucked, but it worked out well for me Gus and I both pre-ordered ODST through the banner ads on our website We thought like hey, let's support ourselves right? the pool and
Starting point is 00:04:36 So on Monday Gus logged into GameStop.com to check and get a Tracking number for his I thought that's a great idea, so I'm gonna check my tracking number. It just said, your order's been canceled. No reason why I was never notified. I just want to say, they tell me via email.
Starting point is 00:04:52 I just want to say, our banner ads work. They do worry now. Everything's great, please support them. Jeff, I'm sure Jeff did something wrong. I know there's fucking ruin, there's a good, there's a really good chance, I love game stop, don't get me wrong.
Starting point is 00:05:04 But there's a really good chance that I fucked it up somehow But I swear to God it said I placed an order I had an email and then I checked like you know a month later And it just said canceled no reason. I never got an email telling me it was canceled If I didn't want to spam it worked flawlessly for me I you definitely I got a morning the game came out. I got my fucking code for Sergeant Johnson and firefight I will say this though. I got up you know I took my kid to school and then I went to target the morning it came out I got to talk about like 815 and I walked in and there were no copies of it is to anywhere and I I walk up to the guy at the video game
Starting point is 00:05:33 Counter and I go hey, um, did you guys get halo odious? He and he goes yeah, I saw that somewhere. Let me see and he had and he looked at me goes Oh, yeah, we haven't put that out yet. We should probably do that at some point He said boxes of it on the ground Yeah, people might want to buy that yeah, yeah, I heard it's a big deal So I waited I was gonna go to the midnight launch and so I mean, I don't know it's weird But in LA there's not many Wal-Mart's and so I found this one Walmart like 10 miles away from where I'm living Drill all the way out there like 1145 and I get there and I think I found the one Wal-Mart in America
Starting point is 00:06:05 that closes at 11 o'clock at night. I was like son of a bitch but I popped open the iPhone and I searched for GameStop and I was in like literally the same shopping center as a GameStop and there was a big group of kids out there. I suddenly got louder. Yeah, that's awesome. Oh, but yeah, so I found this big group of kids and actually I threw on the the RVB hoodie I have and some kids pointed out and like hey, reverse blue. Was it a big was it a big of it with a lot of people there? There were probably about 20 people there. That's pretty cool. Yeah. I want to meet that guy said It was cool. It's actually a group of these these four guys who had pulled their money together to buy ODST Oh really? Yeah, it was awesome. Yeah, so they all had like their bikes with a little like basket on the front and everything
Starting point is 00:06:46 Like one kid ran in the can get ran out with it and held it above his head and they all cheered and I guess their mothers gave him permission to be out that late There was a mom there with like a seriously an eight-year-old boy Like waiting in line at midnight on a Tuesday or Monday that makes me sad on On like 40 levels. Why do my mom ever do anything like that? Well, A It's like there's a mom who cares enough to go out with their kid. That's really cool B that kid should be in bed Cuz he's got school tomorrow. That's not so cool. See there's no reason an eight-year-old kid should be playing any FPS The Cubs invasion is a serious do we need as many people as we can get I don't think I don't think we're down to the eight-year-old
Starting point is 00:07:19 Lunge it show you we've got a few waves to get some Cubs scouts out there Yeah kids are getting pretty good at stuff. Like Millie can fully work an iPhone. She's full. Yeah, well she's full now. She's one of those three. She was three. That is impressive.
Starting point is 00:07:32 A three-year-old can work an iPhone. Yeah. I guess so. Well, I mean Joel can work an iPhone. So I'm here. What's the best thing about her baseline here? Well, Millie's favorite thing on my iPhone to do is to move my icons around. So I can't find shit.
Starting point is 00:07:43 That's a fun game. Really obnoxious. I love playing fun game. Really it's not just. I love playing that game too. Yeah. Yeah. She did this funny thing where she accidentally turned on some music and she was like, oh, shit. So she sat on it.
Starting point is 00:07:53 She sat on it. She tried to hide the music by sitting on it. Oh, so funny. And we had to explain it to her that we weren't mad that it was okay for her to, you know, she looked at me like she, she done something so much. That's great. You're gonna know stuff from you. Oh yeah, definitely.
Starting point is 00:08:10 That's great. Yeah, that's like a female gene though, right? Turn music on or to hide shit. Hide shit. Or to sit on stuff. The hide shit, and then slowly blame you. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:20 I looked at the back seat and she goes, I'm just pointed it, Gavin. Did you really point it again? Okay, I mean awesome if you had she did her shift the eyes Which Gavin I thought I'd do she goes Yeah, that's great for poker It's like a Mitch headberg. It was like me in the the that's charred hilarious. Yeah, look at this chart Whoa, it's like me in the short where I like thinks the role of think it's looking around. Yeah, exactly The ship the eyes going on this shift the guys A but enough about being old and having a kid
Starting point is 00:08:49 Yeah, that's lame tell some more of them being a jobless loser in L.A. Hey, I'm seeing gentlemen Broncos tonight. Oh, dude. I want to see them Yeah, yeah, the germains in town and I guess Jared Hess is in town a fantastic fest is starting tonight So yeah fantastic and for the people that don't know what fantastic fest is What is it? It's a film festival run with the Alamo draft house here in Austin along with ain't it cool news Which is a big movie rumors news website? There's on forever also from Austin. That's also based in Austin and yeah It's basically like it's just a genre festival. So it's like action, horror, sci-fi like stuff that wouldn't play at Sundance We'll play here and now Jeff knows what fantastic fest is
Starting point is 00:09:25 No, I knew what I wanted to begin with Knowing this half the battle. It's turning into quite a festival. Yeah, it's you know, it's getting big It's getting really like legitimately big. Well, I mean, I'm nervous though because like South by Southwest did this about five years ago We're starting getting bigger and bigger and like hey now we have printed badges with our pictures on it now It's hey more celebrities are showing up and oh now there's paparazzi's in on like and like now you now everyone in Austin has no longer has the ability to go. Yeah exactly and now badges cost $500 and it used to be that is fucking terrible right like it used to be you could go into any film everybody was just focused on music itself by Southwest. So you could go catch all kinds of awesome
Starting point is 00:10:03 premieres and just walk up, no badge, nothing. Like I saw the world premiere of the straight story of the David Lynch film, and I just walked up to the Paramount and I bought a ticket, there wasn't even a line, you know, and just walked in. I mean, for a movie like the straight story, there was no line. Well, the crowd wasn't around the corner.
Starting point is 00:10:19 It's David Lynch, it's a big deal, you know, and kind of heart-of-a-leave. Okay, thanks, genius. And, but anyway, now it's like, there's no way, no way you can pull that off. Yeah, Southby's got, I mean, if you don't have a badge at Southby, there's almost no point in trying to go to certain theaters. I read that this last Southby, you know, happens in March. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:38 And I read it in the month of March, Austin had 300,000 tourists. Jesus. Wow. I believe that. I mean, I absolutely believe that, that especially watching like watching when the music Like festival portion hits of South by it's ridiculous South I mean like six street becomes just a parking lot of human. I live About Gus and I now both live in a neighborhood about five minutes northeast of our office
Starting point is 00:10:57 Which is like we're not technically downtown, but we're like it's about two miles from yeah about two miles two miles There are with South by Southwest is so big and they have like 1400 bands playing over this five days and all that shit that there are shows in my neighborhood in houses like there's there's there's a music by the way that's gonna annoy the shit out of you you're not going to park on your street during Southwest and like four houses down there's gonna be fucking bass drums going until two in the morning I'm gonna drive away fuck him yeah I can try to park him uh that's it good yeah and you know we're you know our office is above a restaurant and the restaurant below us books music gigs.
Starting point is 00:11:29 Yeah, yeah, I've never seen that. There's like a fast food restaurant. Yeah, there's there's people out there playing music. You can't get in the front door because there's like an amp in front of you. Yeah, we have to come in the back door through the alley. And there's people playing out there too. Yeah, you got to go through the used condom and syringe alley. Step over the drum circle on your way and yeah, it's pretty rough. That alley's fucking nasty right there. I just press. Yeah, but fantastic fest starts tonight and it should be fun.
Starting point is 00:11:55 I'm checking out Zombieland tomorrow night, which I'm really excited about. I've heard nothing but good things about this. I was excited about that movie until I saw the trailer. Really? That show was horrible. Really? Yeah. It looks like Lefford dead the movie. It had interesting elements to it Like I like the idea of Woody Harrelson's kill of the week thing. Yeah, you know But everything else about that trailer was bad. Oh, oh there was one other bit at the end
Starting point is 00:12:14 Whether all using Puril that was kind of funny But everything else is just kind of gross. I have not seen the trailer yet But I know Thousand was speaking a very highly in the movie. I think he saw it the other day. Oh, he liked it. Yeah, guaranteed we're not gonna like it Well, we love last death but Gus and I never agree with anything he like He's he's a weird barometer of movies. He does I will say he does have a weird barometer I will say about this too. I would never argue with him about a movie No, I win that
Starting point is 00:12:41 He's one of those. Yeah, you okay It's like trying to argue science with Stephen Hawking. No, you, you're okay. You just give it a wide way. I'd be like trying to argue science with Stephen Hawking. You'd be like, no, okay, you know what? I'm sure you're right. Somehow, I just don't understand. This is obviously my problem. Yeah. It's true.
Starting point is 00:12:55 Yeah. Great way to alienate people who on our website now, Jeff. No, I just said that he was smarter than me. Which, you know, is probably 96, 97%. The population. So, Jack, how long did it take you to compile that map to your day? Yeah I literally I got ODSC and started playing it my first run through with a friend of mine. I think we got 27 of the of the logs or that point. So at that point did you actually have to find them yourself with with no like no because we I mean I guess the dirty secret is you know we use assistance for other things to help us and
Starting point is 00:13:29 speak for yourself. Well when you're looking for log is I've got to get them out quick and so yeah so I mean we found the first 27 and then the next day I guess I slept for a few hours the next day woke up got the last three. And one of them one of them you can only get a certain point, right? Yeah, well, the last one, log 30 is actually you have to collect the first 29. Right. And then I don't know if this guy to show us up and kind of leads you to the last one,
Starting point is 00:13:53 or like, I don't know if he's not there if you don't have him. But if you listen to the story, like there's a whole like B story that goes along with these audio files. And it's sort of an inch, it's kind of like Dead Space, space actually where there's a whole other sort of story like the the guy in his wife from Dead Space. Yeah. Like, you know, it has nothing to do with the real plot, but nothing to do with the main plot, but you'll see stuff. I'm like, oh crap, that's the that's the dude. And then, you know, it's it's similar to that where it's absolutely
Starting point is 00:14:19 loved that. Oh, yeah, it adds it's had such a cool little bonus to the game. It's like, oh, yeah, that like that one body right there. I know who that is and that's awesome I cuz I haven't listened to any of them yet Yeah, no, no, that's a lot of texture too and it's kind of cool too because you get it like it goes backwards Like I got on my first playthrough. I got like six or seven logs, right? And they're talking about Virgil in the law I'm not gonna give any spoilers, but you know like the girl in the log is talking about Virgil interacting with them and stuff And then at the end of the game you find out who Virgil is and you're like oh shit. That's Virgil. That's kind of cool
Starting point is 00:14:47 Yeah, I said I wonder what the best way to do it is I best I guess the best way is listen as you play the first time Yeah, the best ways to try to as they appear naturally in the game But the problem with that is that like I don't understand how they unlock because sometimes I've gone to places where I knew There were logs and they're not active. Yeah, that's it's weird Like you have to like play through and actually pick up that gets the the clues of the mystery or whatever You have to once you get those that unlocks more okay, like kind of as you go So you sort of have to collect them and then play through one of the little side mission things and but you don't more You don't really know which ones that unlocks, but I guess it doesn't matter just unlocks a certain number But it's kind of it ends up being kind of confused. I mean that's the thing about achievement related stuff out there, though because I'm now really want to listen to all those
Starting point is 00:15:28 They're really interesting, but I remember in Haley 3 the terminals. I was like yeah this one this one This one I never read them. Well, then I went back and read them. I was like this is actually awesome It's because you don't read We were to establish that podcast. I was making a valid point Where are you? Well, I think Jeff made a valid point. I can read Your valid point will be edited out of the final But yeah, the logs are pretty cool and it's it's a neat little addition Yeah, but and they say like the game is very linear too
Starting point is 00:15:57 So it's you know, you can literally collect them in order not in order I mean no matter what you collect it's always gonna play the audio files and correct orders is very cool way to do it yeah so you don't have to worry about that but the way the way the the log save is very weird because like if you started co-op game with somebody and then you collect like 28 logs and then you go jump into someone else's co-op game already in progress your logs all vanish really you pick up from wherever whoever host the game huh but then if you go solo again I guess they just want to make sure that you collect the logs.
Starting point is 00:16:29 What if you have 28 and I jumped in your game having none? What I then have 28? I don't know. It's not really explained well. It's not like once you have it, you always have it. I don't know. I had issues with it. I still have trouble trying to explain it to people.
Starting point is 00:16:43 I think it's probably a situation of us not Understanding that works, you know, that's not shocking. Not the games fault. I have a question for you as well, Jack. This is the achievement I was trying to get the kill 10 engineers all the engineers in specific places Or do they just randomly pop up with random fights? There are areas because I know you have to do it as the rookie at night Right. Yeah, there are areas where sort of they congregate There's like little sort of like plazas that are behind security doors. Like a lot of the audio files are actually in those areas.
Starting point is 00:17:10 And like there's usually two or three of the engineers are kind of like in those areas too. So if you really just kind of keep your eye out for those, maybe you can mark that on the map actually. Because that would be cool. If they're in like certain places, I'd love to know. Have you got this place? Do you have that achievement to kill the 10 engineers?
Starting point is 00:17:24 No, I do not. Okay. I walked in on two engineers in one of those, you know, like, two old houses and like they weren't. But they were healing each other and I only had like a crystal. And I could not kill them. Tannicles everywhere. God, this is being gross. Yeah, I've all. Sounds great. Slammy. This is my duty trip to Japan. It does. It's just like being back in my hotel room. Yeah, gross. Yeah, that sounds awesome. But yeah, and I guess now, I mean, you got, I mean,
Starting point is 00:17:51 Jeff, you and Engav have pretty much wrapped up the rest of the achievements. I'm assuming you're going through the achievements. We're getting there. I captured today, I captured the VidMaster Challenge Classic, which is to beat a level on legendary without firing a weapon. That's going to be great.
Starting point is 00:18:04 That was an impressive run you did. Thank you. I can press that. Yeah, so I got that this morning. I was going to put the video out right now, but I had to shut my computer down to make a podcast. Whenever we do the podcast, I always make Jeff show his computer off, because if not, it makes this really like a blow dryer in the background. Yeah, my computer is pretty loud. And Gus's defense. It's pretty unbearable. You put a muffler on it. I'm sure there's a few more we can get in there, you know? and Gus's defense. It's pretty unbearable. You put a muffler on it. I'm sure there's a few more we can get in there.
Starting point is 00:18:28 You can't go wrong with any Halo videos. Oh yeah. People want to watch them regardless. So we'll do some more. And it's one listening to Bernie Ruin Gabs audio. Or anybody's audio. We should do a video podcast with Ost like we did for a left for dead Well, I fight great idea like a firefight podcast
Starting point is 00:18:48 I'm a left for dead survival mode. Yeah, let's do it. Maybe we'll do that. We'll see. Yeah, I forgot time maybe next week Yeah, you gotta we're going back to a weekly schedule for the podcast. Yeah, there's been a lot of confusion about that Like I caught a lot of people that like discovered on Wednesday that we had done this week long thing I guess we didn't do a very good job with talking about it. No, I guess not. But we don't buy too much open. Typical, typical, yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:10 We don't promote anything we're doing. We do a very good job with doing anything. And people are like, holy shit, I have four podcasts to catch up on. That's awesome. And then other people are like, how are you gonna do this every week? We're totally not gonna do this every week.
Starting point is 00:19:20 No, no. Maybe every once in a while for like, no, never again, never again it. No, never, never. All right, well, Gus is in charge of the podcast and he's the poor guy that has to edit and deal with all this stuff. Oh, yeah, the link dumps. How difficult is that to get all the links and stuff?
Starting point is 00:19:33 He's like, can I cut nothing? Can I start saying like, can I start saying like, really hard stuff to find on the internet? Google can find it all. Like Bernie mentioned that 20 years till immortality thing the other day and I was like, scientist immortality.
Starting point is 00:19:44 It was like the first one. The stuff that you would think would be rough is the easy stuff in the world like I've done two podcasts for you. Mm-hmm. Since you were at a town or had stuff going on two times and First off it takes if it's an hour typical podcast an hour and a half That's at least probably three hours just to edit the audio, right? And then once you get it and it's it's like a 60 gig file Which is a lot to work with once you get it and it's like a 60 gig file which is a lot to work with. Once you get it done Then you have to go through this Clujie, Clujie process to get it into the correct MP3 format to go on iTunes
Starting point is 00:20:12 And then that's the part where I upload it and then I post it and then Gus takes care of the iTunes and Zun stuff But I know that there's like a whole other echelon of issues You have to go through to get it like editing XML feeds and shit Yeah, then you have to like, update our XML feeds and then you let, then you let iTunes know that you've updated it so they can come and find the new episode and it's a pain in the ass. So Gus, this is a question.
Starting point is 00:20:31 What did you do before the podcast? Nothing. I said, I just typed, I played and I have a speaker and teaches typing in my computer all the time. Playing wow at work. Oh, speaking of, so are, are you going to try to talk me in a while? Man, well, why was it's own sales person? Oh, speaking of it. So are you going to try to talk me in a while?
Starting point is 00:20:45 Man, why was it's own salesperson? Wow, yeah, yeah. Okay, talk to you in a minute. So I always told myself I would never get in a while because I'm the kind of guy that I know if I start playing while I'm never going to stop. I'm going to be that kid who passes out day in his chair. I'll say this, if you're going to play, if you're gonna play well, play through once right now, just play the level 30, okay, you can do it in like four or five days, then see what you think, take a break, wait till cataclysm comes out and then play again. If you're gonna ever, don't wait till cataclysm comes out to play your first experience through well
Starting point is 00:21:17 because it's gonna be so dramatically different, I think you would really appreciate it if you played it now and then see how it's gonna change next year. Wrong, count the point, okay, cataclysm. You need to play through the entire thing all 80 levels now before it changes forever and you can never see it again Well, that's what I'm saying is he should play it now so he's getting I said 30 but play I just guys wanted to see the starting areas and get a flight feeling for the game But yeah play through the game now and then seriously it's worth it Yeah, it's never gonna be the same it's gonna go away
Starting point is 00:21:41 I mean the whole idea for the reason why I kind of wanted to play it was to get some MMO experience under my belt for when Old Republic comes out. Because I'm totally like, I mean, I have a friend who's a producer on Old Republic and I've seen stuff. I mean, it looks so good that I'm like, I'm gonna have to play that. And so I want to get used to this sort of the way MMOs work and guilds and all that crap that I know absolutely nothing about is just to make fun of people who talk about it I think older public's gonna be dramatically different than wow, but they're still
Starting point is 00:22:09 Fundamentals that carry over between any MMO like knowing your class roles and stuff like that. Do you did you play Cotar at all? Yeah, yeah, I played the Cotar games. Okay, cuz I have the feeling it's gonna Nice to be all Republic. Yeah, I'm initiated. Sorry, forget I get the sense that it's gonna be a lot like nasty old public And that's the fact for that matter So as I'm familiar with those games's going to be a lot like National Public and Mass Effect for that matter. So as I finish with, those games you'll probably have a good look up. How do you have time to do those games? How don't you?
Starting point is 00:22:32 You're 21 year old kid. You don't have time for those games. I'm going to tell you how you have time. OK, A, you're 21 year old British kid without a girlfriend, right? B, you live at home with your parents. C, you have a job that maybe you work one or two days a week. Sometimes you'll work four or five days, but then you'll have like two weeks off. That's how you do it. You have no life.
