Starting point is 00:00:00 It's time to put your pedal to the metal. From the twisted minds behind Deadpool and Zombieland, an executive producers, Will Arnett and Anthony Mackie comes the new Peacock original series, Twisted Metal, a high-oxane action comedy based on the classic video game series. Anthony Mackie stars as John Doe, a motormouth outsider who must deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. If he can survive the drive, also starring Stephanie Beatriz, Samoa Joe, Nev Campbell, Will Arnett, and Thomas Hayden Church.
Starting point is 00:00:40 Twisted metal, streaming now, only on peacock. I'm gonna go to the bathroom. I'm gonna go to the bathroom. I'm gonna go to the bathroom. I'm gonna go to the bathroom. I'm gonna go to the bathroom.
Starting point is 00:01:12 I'm gonna go to the bathroom. I'm gonna go to the bathroom. I'm gonna go to the bathroom. I'm gonna go to the bathroom. I'm gonna go to the bathroom. I'm gonna go to the bathroom. I'm gonna go to the bathroom. I'm gonna go to the bathroom.
Starting point is 00:01:20 I'm gonna go to the bathroom. I'm gonna go to the bathroom. I'm gonna go to the bathroom. I'm gonna go to the bathroom. I'm gonna go to the bathroom. I'm gonna go to the bathroom. I'm gonna go to the bathroom. I'm gonna go to the bathroom. I have a new Twitter application that I actually like. It's called Tweetbot. Tweetbot. Can I tell you the greatest feature in the world?
Starting point is 00:01:30 What is that? Cloted in Twitter? Proceeding Tweetbot. What is the best feature that you would like to see in Twitter that it doesn't currently have? The ability to ignore people, but you still want them to thank you. Yes. Follow them.
Starting point is 00:01:42 You can put me on your follow list and then you can mute them. Is it have that? It does. Oh my God. You can still want them to thank you. You can put me on your follow list and then you can mute them. So it does. It is. It is. So it's like you get to fulfill the social contract of you follow me. I follow you, but you're like, not let me. I don't care about your face sandwich.
Starting point is 00:01:57 I like the name tweet bot tweet. It makes me want to talk like this. Great for people who tweet like every single minute. And then if you unfollow them, they're like, what would you follow? They notice it immediately. I unfollowed Michael, Rachel quit because he like, he out of any time he likes a video on YouTube, it sends that out of tweet. I was like, disable that and he wouldn't disable it. I unfollowed him, Miles and Lindsay because they were being fucking annoying one day and just kept having this
Starting point is 00:02:23 long conversation. I was like, fuck it. And that was like four months ago. I'm not going back They're done people use Twitter is like it like a game and it's like no no no If you want to have a conversation get on get on a chat program so I'm like that direct messages Yeah, Jackson how you made a sound old like you took it to another level somehow like that's not what the purpose of Twitter is You unfollowed me once then I for what I was following some celebrity. Oh, yeah. Charlie Sheen. I unfollowed him. Oh, you were a Charlie Sheen.
Starting point is 00:02:48 I only followed him for like five minutes. What a tool. And then I got to see. Okay, as soon as he was out of the spot, let you unfollowed him. No, I was, I followed him for like five minutes and I realized it was really stupid. So I unfollowed him, but Bernie had already unfollowed me at that point and I was like, oh, no way. I just get it.
Starting point is 00:03:03 I remember that perjure. I did. Here's what, here's my logic is that Charlie Sheen was, was that point and I was like oh no way I Did here's what here's my logic is that Charlie she was is an asshole and everyone was following him because he was very famous for a short period of time for being an asshole Yes, and being destructive and like you'd left that show and put people's jobs and jeopardy You know because you couldn't get himself under control and I was just like, you know all those people are falling It's like I'm gonna draw a line if I can't draw a line on Twitter, I can't draw a line anywhere, right? So I'm just drawing this line. You should have changed your avatar.
Starting point is 00:03:28 You're a man, right? As you were this, he said people were re-tweeting him. It's like, I don't want to see you. I don't want to see you. I don't want to see what he has to say. I don't give a fuck about winning. I don't think I'm a tiger blood.
Starting point is 00:03:39 He had people eating out of the palm of his hand. It was all bullshit. But that's really last time. He only loved that. And I get it. I would do it. I mean, he's already rich. I mean, might as well like, you know,
Starting point is 00:03:49 do you something or everyone's talking about you for two weeks, right? I get it. But you know, you don't want to be part of it. When you work in entertainment long enough or you try to work in entertainment long enough, you value jobs. Like somebody has worked.
Starting point is 00:04:02 And like a guy who had the number one TV show in America and He basically put the show threat for me cancel. I know that's 200 people or whatever that are you know They can put those to lose their jobs like look good. We got the normal TV show in America Getting paid for episode. I don't know. I was over $7 billion those over a million. I know that tiger blood. Seven billion So and the deal is it's tenuous right right? So then Charlie Sheen goes off and does his thing. But didn't he do something stupid thing on Comedy Central that nobody watched? He did a roast. That was a roast and I think he did some streaming stuff for a while.
Starting point is 00:04:34 That's what it was too. Yeah. And then Astrid and Kuchster showed up on two and a half men. I can't even say his name. People always get a patty. Why don't we talk about Astrid and Kuchster? So what do you make for a mate for not being able to pronounce? Word. That's a name versus words. Word. No, I remember strong, Thurman. He got that one right.
Starting point is 00:04:52 Strong. Strong. It is funny to make for the brand. So I guess I didn't say we got Bernie, Jack, Barbara, Brandon, and me, Gus here. Hello. I want to meet Gus. Me, Gus.
Starting point is 00:05:03 Me, Gus. I'm hungry right now. I also want to say what we're thinking about Twitter while we're talking about it. Twitter. Hello. I want to meet Gus. Me Gus. Me Gus. I'm hungry right now. I also want to say one more thing about Twitter while we're talking about it. Twitter. Twitter. We bought. We bought.
Starting point is 00:05:11 I always, if I know people who are a couple, I just have to unfollow one of them. Because the way the algorithm and Twitter works is that if you follow two people, when they add each other, then you get to see it. Yeah. I'm watching two couples, you know, do people in a couple talk to each other. I'm just like, look, I'm picking one of you. And that's it. The other one go. Is there some kind of like contest between the two? Well, it's like when people break up, you know,
Starting point is 00:05:32 you know, what is sick? Look at what's your thought process like? Like how do you? Thank you. I know, I know people like that, but I follow it's like, all right, all right, we get it. Yeah, you're love. Very nice. Great. I'm just saying, how do you choose between them? So like Sophie's choice, you're in love. Very nice. That's great. I'm just saying, how do you choose between them? So like Sophie's choice. You're going to have to do it eventually anyway when they break up.
Starting point is 00:05:49 You're going to have to. They're going to miss you. You do it. And you just choose the one you like better than that. You're just taking part in the pre-breakup. Maybe great though if you can do that with your friends. It's like they know beforehand. It's like a pre-nuptial friendship thing.
Starting point is 00:06:04 It's like if you guys break up on with her or on with him, that's it. Just walk away. Don't fuck up. Just keep it together. So I brought a lot of you guys in here because I wanted to talk about packs. That was just this past weekend. You worked there, Brandon. I was. Get out. Yeah, Brandon. Tell us all about packs. You worked a lot to facilitate the successful show that we had. Brandon was kicked out for revealing his boobs.
Starting point is 00:06:25 Yeah, on this, we were getting our boobs back. That's around his cosplay. So it was a great show, but it was really busy the entire time. Yeah, I'm really appreciative of the people who waited in line to come by our booth. We had four enforcers at one point working our booth to try and maintain the line. Like, we were stacked too deep and then had a split and then more of a line. It was nuts. You know we had, we had 16 people at that con.
Starting point is 00:06:50 Jesus. It was usually 15, but we hired Ray. And he was there. And congratulations to our man. That's crazy with 16 people there and four of us worked the booth the whole time. So, I go with three. Three is the best. We were fine. No, we know we did we sold out of
Starting point is 00:07:07 Almost everything almost surely when we were setting up, you know Barbara carry and I were there we were looking at all the shirts are like guys is ridiculous Why do we reach so many shirts? I think we had 15 different shirts I mean we're all in like six sizes when we started the day on Sunday We didn't have anything really. Oh, man were stupid. The world tour shirt did really well. The world tour shirt. The one you're wearing. You have the gray shirt on right now. The world tour shirt. And that one sold out day one. That one sold out day one. And then the black one sold out day two by lunch. Yeah. So, uh,
Starting point is 00:07:38 like, it's because I wore that one on Friday. No one thinks this is a light base. I agree with you. I do not call that gray. Everyone else calls it gray. So I call it gray light. finish if you look at a gray scale It's you can't find this that's how great it has color. It's big. Yeah anyways. What's beige? It's like light beige This is not great. This is not great. You call that great closer to look at the wall Look at everybody calm down every countdown. It's like that wall guys Brandon is beige. It's short.
Starting point is 00:08:08 That's what I call. The shirt is gray. This shirt is not gray. Did you take a picture of it? I did take a picture of it. It's gray. It's like a t-shirt. Send that picture to Lindsay and me.
Starting point is 00:08:16 You know, we can put it in the link though. I've got you. You're a t-shirt. You work with, you've seen gray scales. I guess what I'm saying, like if you go to any kind of program, go to the Photoshop and just move your little thing to the white and black line, this is not part of that spectrum. You're not gonna see this color and I love losing. We're arguing that the audience can't see.
Starting point is 00:08:33 Oh, what's it at? You have confidence that the brand is dumb. No, no, brand is right. Thank you, guys. We're gonna make a poll. We're gonna post this picture. Something's wrong with Gus. And we're gonna make a poll.
Starting point is 00:08:42 Yeah. Bernie sent me this link for ever ago, one night, like the middle of the middle of night it was a color spectrum thing and you had to line up the color spectrum I love that thing like it was like you know, it was like a gradients and you had to move stuff right? I got a hundred percent on that I got a hundred percent on my first shot on that thing There's another similar one that does kerning a font. Oh, wow And you have to like slide them and try to get them all to be the same. Yeah, so what you have to do is it gives you a Wide assortment colors and you just have to arrange them in like a gradient from does it start with blue and go to get them all to be the same. Yeah, so what you have to do is it gives you a wide assortment of colors and you just have to arrange them in like a gradient from, does it start with blue and go to red? Like there's one I think blue to green.
Starting point is 00:09:10 Yeah, there's like three different ones and I managed to 100% the whole thing. I couldn't believe I did. I did not. I did not. I did not. All right, so what else happened to packs? Oh, we had a panel.
Starting point is 00:09:20 That's a lot of panel. Nothing interesting happened on that. We debuted, we showed a teaser for Red Versa Blue Season 10 and showed a little bit of a work in progress of Red Vs. Blue Season 10. We showed about three and a half minutes, yeah, from a fight scene. What did you do with the stuff you will love to see? Which book is it also we had we had announcement there where we showed in that teaser a guest voice star that we have and that is Mr. Elijah Wood playing the voice of Sigma. Would guest star be the proper thing? Like, people are asking these, it's just a cameo, but he actually plays a character.
Starting point is 00:09:49 Yeah, I know, no, no, he plays Sigma. Sigma, I mean, I don't want to get too much of the spoilers in the season, but Sigma being Maine's original AI, the creative one, that's, you can, if you know the story of Reverse Blue and the fact that we're in a prequel, you can kind of guess that's a pretty important part and Maine becomes caboose, right? That is correct like he's a predecessor to get booze main main transforms into the Wardhawk All right, I want to see that. I want to see someone draw that please. Let's get money on that. Yeah, a lot just a super nice guy man Well, I'm saying you mean it as soon as you mean it really this is this guy's authentically nice. It's Mr. Wood to you.
Starting point is 00:10:27 Also a very big game really. He goes to events. He goes to E3. He goes to Comic Con. I think he was part of Nerd HQ last year. Oh yeah. I know we bumped in him at E3 back in 2001. Walking the floor.
Starting point is 00:10:39 That was crazy because Matt was Matt had worked on the faculty, which was a Robdam movie here in Austin that's Sartalized Wood. And so we bumped into him on the floor at E3 and this was when they had filmed the fellowship of the ring but it hadn't come out yet. So it was coming out that Christmas and this is in May. And so we met him and I made the point.
Starting point is 00:10:59 I said, you know, he's not gonna be able to walk the floor at E3 like he's doing now. He's not gonna be able to do that next year. He's like, I don't know about that. I'm like, you should be free, sure. What's the habit movies come out? That's pretty much it, Lord of the Ring. I've heard a celebrity's wearing masks around the floor.
Starting point is 00:11:14 I think like, didn't Robert Downey Jr. walk the floor one year with an Iron Man mask on? Like a crappy Iron Man mask. Oh really? Yeah. I was thinking to mission impossible mask. That's a little too complicated. I know last year at the Spider-Man panel, Andrew Garfield actually asked a question and
Starting point is 00:11:28 he was wearing a Spider-Man pajama outfit with a Spider-Man crappy mask on. And that's before no one knew he was there and he pulled a mask off and was like, oh, it's Andrew Garfield, who is the next Spider-Man? Everyone still didn't know who he was. He's the guy from the social network, right? Yeah, he was the friend who was Eduardo. And why did he do that? Yeah, Eduardo. So anyway, he's the guy from the social network right yeah, he was he was the the friend who is a warder. Yeah, Eduardo So anyway, he's the new spider-man and yeah, that's pretty cool. That's clever
Starting point is 00:11:50 Yeah, what else happened on the panel at PAX anything interesting? I don't want don't I don't want to get into that Don't you the audience reaction was great Monty punched a lemon at someone that's true. I was pretty I didn't see it I was on the stage. I didn't see it because this money was to my side. There were people blocking my view. So I saw the guy toss a lemon up to Monty and I just shot shoot right back at him. I had no idea what happened. Later I got told that Monty punched it in mid-air and went back and hit the guy right
Starting point is 00:12:17 in the face. I'm becoming more and more. Yeah, I hit him right here in the cheek. I'm becoming more and more convinced that Monty is a robot. Monty is not human. I understand this question is gonna sound creepy and say anyway, what was Monty wearing? Monty was wearing his outfit.
Starting point is 00:12:30 You got to get off. You got to get off. With the feathers in his hair. Yeah, if you've seen him dress up at official events you'll understand why I'm asking. It's just like incredible. He's like a show in itself. He's a human anime character.
Starting point is 00:12:41 Pretty much. Yeah, pretty much. He's just missing the big sword. You see what I was wearing? Some braero in the scarf. Yeah. Why did you wear the gush shirt? I wore that shirt. I mean, making a film. Yeah, I wore a shirt. Yeah. Body, body puts us all the shame, dude. Did you bring the gush shirt? Yeah. Did you see him? We had a party Saturday night where Jeff Williams performed live with
Starting point is 00:13:00 the freelance orchestra. Jeff Williams came up to promote the event on the panel and did you... Can I ask you guys a question? Did you... would understand anything you said or do I just not understand? You're gonna get some fucking skinner. I mean, yeah. I mean, I'm not a part of it. I mean, I'm a free bird. Then at the party I get a lot of free bird and try to get him to play, but he didn't. Jeff's a rock star man. But a Monti came up to that party and he honestly looked like an anime character, and he was dancing, and it was amazing. He does, I'd never seen dance dance revolution moves
Starting point is 00:13:32 done on an actual dance floor, but he totally pulled that off, and it's impressive. Did you see his videos a few weeks ago? Yeah, I think Dave and Buster's, and just, they brought back nightmares, because we used to have a dance machine at,
Starting point is 00:13:42 I worked in an arcade when I was younger, and there would be people lined up at the gate when we would open and like as it was going up they would slide under and immediately start putting money into that machine and be there all day until we had to kick him out of night. Did you work at the University of Texas arcades that got shut down? No, no. He's a place. No I worked at the one like my mall away from North Austin. That was actually my very first job ever. I was 16 years old working in arcade living the dream worked in the game industry Even back then when I was I was 15 or 16. I got kicked out of an Aladdin's castle for cursing too much I think I was playing road rash
Starting point is 00:14:14 And I was just like cursing up a storm and I got asked to leave nice now this this was the arcade that like I would go so much Sorry, you have to leave the arcade now Yeah, I would so much they find this ass me like do you want a job here? I turned 16 so I got. Did you guys know faith was one of the people that came to Pax with us and she had a panel panel in I want to say it was the cat theater, so to call just cat and it's probably all the theaters are named after like animals and stuff.
Starting point is 00:14:42 But like that was a romantic core, you know, I was in the arachid theater Cat theater. I think I think that's what it was. I don't know, but right next to it They had a full-fledged classic arcade. Oh, yeah, I checked it out. Oh, yeah, I saw that That thing was bad ass. Yeah, I don't know who curated the games that were in that arcade But they had the exact same taste that I do yeah I've seen years. Yeah, there's some rare ones in there. Did you see the photo of the Ghostbusters playing the Ghostbusters game? Yeah, that's pretty cool. I was, at one point I was walking the floor and I saw all those Ghostbusters standing around. They were in pretty impressive outfit. And when it goes holy shit, and he points behind me, and I turned and I look,
Starting point is 00:15:20 and it was this couple dressed up as Captain yesterday and Claibarella from Futurama. Nice. And like they were impressed at the other of the way. And so they like made up and they started talking costumes and stuff. Man, there's a cosplay I was very impressed by. I don't know about you guys.
Starting point is 00:15:34 Well, what was it? The lollipop chainsaw cosplay. Yeah, I don't know. She got booted. No, she got booted. So first day, so it's Jessica Negri who we love. And I think she's a fan actually. But anyway, we love Jessica Negri.
Starting point is 00:15:44 She got booted. No, no, she just has to change. She has to change. So the first day, first day, I it's Jessica Negri who we love, and I think she's a fan actually, but anyway, we love Jessica Negri. She got booted. No, no, she just has to change. She has to change. So, the first day, the first day on code changing. Wait, was she has to change it on the floor? I think someone gave her a sweatshirt to put on. Yeah, so the first day she had like this bikini top on,
Starting point is 00:15:57 it was like a cheerleader outfit. For now, that first, she will be known as the biggest of the week ever exists. But then like the second day, she had like this alternate costume on, which wholly crappy. You see that one?
Starting point is 00:16:07 It had a neckline that went down to her crotch. Yeah. Okay, so, we drove right in. Jessica Geese a very famous cosplayer. Yeah. She's probably most famous, I think, for wearing her sexy Pikachu outfit.
Starting point is 00:16:17 Yeah, that was her initial one, her first one. Yeah, if you're doing Google Image Search for Comic Con, it's like, Image Number Two that pops out. I had a flashback to the last week podcast when you were talking about sexy costumes, like sexy Mickey Mouse. Oh, it was like two weeks ago.
Starting point is 00:16:28 Yeah, it's like sexy Nemo. She's sexy. Sexy sexy. But she came to our booth a couple of times at Comic Con as well. How come she can't crash her panels? Like what's the point? What's the point?
Starting point is 00:16:39 In our underwear, right? Yeah, but now she's also like, she's also now been doing cosplay long enough I'm just gonna say it's in the best way possible She's been doing cosplay long enough to where now it's appropriate for her to be doing it Like maybe when we first met her was not it was weird like yeah, it was it seemed inappropriate But now she's she's been doing it for long. She's a famous cosplayer. Okay, so here we go So here we come to an issue with packs. It's interesting because
Starting point is 00:17:01 She's a famous cosplayer. Okay, so here we go. So here we come to an issue with Pax. It's interesting because Pax has a philosophical approach to booth-baits. With no booth-baits. Yeah. Is Jessica Nigri a booth-bait? It's a really great area.
Starting point is 00:17:13 I think you were talking about this. Yeah, we talked about this off, you know, while we were there. I think technically, no, but in this case, yes. Since she was paid by the company to be there. But it's a little different though Because that's what that character who they're displaying and their Appetite for the game if she had shown up on her own and was walking the floor like that She would not be a booth babe, but if the company's paying her to stay at their booth
Starting point is 00:17:36 It's a little different seems like a textbook definition if you were to define booth babe But no, but paying the girl she is a fan of games and of the costuming, but she's also famous for being a cosplay, right? So it's not like she's an anonymous model that doesn't understand what she's doing and just gets thrown into a Miranda costume or something, but you know, that's why it's really a great area. In this scenario though, No one like I don't think they go up to two-born brothers. I don't think they go they don't go up to these other boot baves. They don't go up to these other boot baves and ask them about their video game knowledge. Like for all we know these girls are their hired they
Starting point is 00:18:19 could they could be in the know. The point is that's never a question that gets asked. Well so what is a boot bave? Boot bave is a is The point is that's never a question that gets asked. So what is a booth baby? Ruthbabies is a hot girl that's in a skimpy costume that's disingenuous and doesn't even know what she's doing there. It doesn't know anything about the game, right? It's just another gig where she's paid to look hot. Right. But that's not always true.
Starting point is 00:18:37 I mean, there's some quote-unquote booth babes that know their shit. They know their gaming stuff. But do you ask those other girls before you kick them out? Is there a questionnaire? I think it's just you need sex to sell. That's the line. It's like the objectification of women. But it's also like what type of clothing constitutes a booth big like if there's a girl in a jeans and a t-shirt working at a booth. Well, clue is sweatshirts. You know it when you see it.
Starting point is 00:19:00 Or is it like if- No, there's various. My argument though is that this is who Jessica Negri is. You know it when you see it. Or is it like, if, no, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, it's it's a difficult. So you're saying it's just like a company hiring a marketing like a normal marketing person If we hired who is the who's the super hot chick from modern family? So So let's say she's a voice actress in our thing and she shows up in our booth, right? This is great Go on and she wears a low-cut top
Starting point is 00:19:40 Which is kind of like what she's known for I mean she's very hot and very sexy person is she not allowed to be there I mean, it's like or if Angelina Jolie is hired by someone to do a voice She plays Lara Croft right in an actual Tomb Raider game and she shows up But she's wearing a sexy outfit, but they're talent. They're the part of the cast But Jessica Niger is kind of part of the cast. She's the face of the girl in Lollipop chainsaw No, she is not they didn't model it her. They modeled it after her then I say yes. But they then they show. It's independent.
Starting point is 00:20:08 They can model our crop to her Angelina Jolie. Right, but they chose her to play her in the movie. Okay. Which is like the public representation. You're choosing Jessica to play Lollipop chainsaw at the car. At the car. At the car. At the car, not widespread.
Starting point is 00:20:20 Right. So does that mean that? No, it is widespread. She's the official face of Lollipop chainsaw. At that event. So does that mean you can have a booth babe that looks like a character in your game so any company can hire a hot model and dress them up like a character in the game and that's okay is that what we're saying here's another example the the woman who she cosplays tomorrow from mass effect to
Starting point is 00:20:38 because she was the face or the the just a car right tomorrow tomorrow tomorrow the blue girl right yeah that's sorry um she was there I saw her there and she's walking around a great she's not hired but she is hired by mass effect she is she was hired at one point by a wear EA to play this part and so she then she may go as a mix of appearances on her own in full costume which is kind of a racy costume you know so I don't know it is a gray area it's a weird gray area so like when Joel walks around wearing a Spartan outfit, and cons. Super hot. Here's the line. Here's the line. I understand the philosophy. Here's the
Starting point is 00:21:11 thing I think that should be the line is that you have to have an equal number of each gender representing your game. So if you're going to have the hot booth-babe model, you got to hire dude. You got to even it up. That's what I say. I think you're behind that. Yeah So let's talk more about packs and our neighbors makes 64. That's good. Who are neighbors on the other side? No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, It was a college. It was a college. Yeah, typically at PECS or either next to or across from a college or in our college. Yeah. Yeah. And then next to Megastar Megastar Megastar 64 as well. It was awesome.
Starting point is 00:21:51 I mean, they're the best booth mates to ever. Just go over what happened when Megastar 64 walked in the first day after we had our kick ass booth set up. So Jessica Nigry, when she won time when I was in the first had a she had to go make an appearance so she had her Lollipop chainsaw off it on they said we have to put on your like you're walking outfit to walk through the con which apparently was a full-length full-body Late-text jumps jumpsuit That's one that's the only problem
Starting point is 00:22:24 Wow You know, you know, that's the only that's the only couple one. Wow. Okay. Now she walked by at one point and like, like, I saw her and I kind of waved her channel, like, you know, not in grin. I'm sure she just thought I was, you know, some douchebag or whatever. She had a, so she was right. She got good. Yeah. I can say it for a spottum. She had to have a Wrangler, right?
Starting point is 00:22:38 Why is that? I'm sure. Yeah, she has, she has like a pack of dudes with her the whole day. Anyway, just, just give you a little bit of costume Wrangler. You know, fire fall, fire fall had two booth bags in my opinion They're really but they had the big buff dude in the armor and then the skippy girl and the skippy girl with the with the one leg That like when all the way up to her. Yeah, we're too. Oh She was at the far I saw her I saw her I saw her shopping at the mega 64 booth
Starting point is 00:23:02 And I was like what you don't want to buy any of ours? It did not seem just tasteful to me. What was that was that dude the big dude at the MIG64 booth and I was like, what, you don't want to buy any of ours? It did not seem distasteful to me. Was that dude the big dude at the Firefall booth? Was he a wrestler? Yeah, I went out and found out who he was. Who is he? He is hawk from American Gladiators. That's who he was?
Starting point is 00:23:14 I knew I was a dude from somewhere. And he's a super buff dude. Yeah. Did he ever short off? I don't remember. No, I don't know. I'm sure he had shoulders exposed. Yeah, he had like, you know, the big pack on.
Starting point is 00:23:24 Yeah, and the big guns on it. The big gun. I mean, the firefall outfits, similar to Gears of War. If you know what Gears of War suits look like. Can I only bet? Very ineffective armor. Did Firefall seem distasteful to you that they're just play? No, I don't know. Not at all to you.
Starting point is 00:23:37 It was funny on Sunday. They had the two of them out there. They had an Easter bunny ears on. That was pretty fun. Little rabbit ears. Before the show opened on Sunday, someone had gone around and hidden Easter eggs in all of the different exhibitors booths. I saw him doing it. He couldn't do it at ours because I beat him there because I was there like at 730 in the
Starting point is 00:23:54 morning and I saw him you know running around. I'll get him hiding eggs everywhere. Do you want to talk about our booth at all? So we unveiled a new booth design. We'll post some pictures of it. So shine. It's a little more professional looking than our old $20 shelves. Sheldon units and card tables. It's a little more professional. We had glass cases and some lights and stuff. Big logo. Big top center. I think Mega 64 was a little disappointed. They asked if for Comic Con because we have half the booth size if they could borrow the other half of that set and just like Sharpie mega 64 on top of it. Yeah, that's not gonna happen. No, no, not at all. You guys have like red-shag carpet too, right? Yeah, we had some padding under there too.
Starting point is 00:24:36 I even I I explored and I spend a little extra and I got padding. That was nice. I felt the difference. Yeah, because there wasn't like when we were doing signings itself there's no place to sit like typically there's like a table you can kind of sit at, but now the new booth doesn't only work like that. Yeah, that's the fire. You pretty much had to be standing. If you were sitting down, you were in the fucking way. So it's like, you have an identified a condition now that I'm gonna call this from now on,
Starting point is 00:24:56 which is called comm legs, where your legs just get sore from hip down, essentially. Every joint is sore all the way through. Yeah, because you're doing so much leaning down, standing up, moving to the side, going up again. On Sunday night after the event, you know, we packed up and I sat down for a bit, and then I tried to stand up and walk, and my legs were just like rubber bands. I was like, whoa, what happened to like holy shit, I can't walk, you're walking like a baby deer. You know what I work the con all day Friday and all day Saturday and then Saturday night from about 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. I was in heels. There's nothing worse than working two day straight at a con and then putting on heels. Why'd you do it?
Starting point is 00:25:34 I had to for our party. Oh, you didn't have to. You chose to. Well I'm not gonna wear sneakers and address. It looks awkward. So you know what I'm talking about. All three of you have eight. Well probably have an update to you on the side with a bunch of packed pictures, right? We'll see the booth and stuff hopefully we got to click all that stuff Yeah, I shot some video of the party not much, but I was busy mingling I think carry shot a video on that last day of me and the booth that might be a potential for R.K. Life of me and the booth that might be a potential for RT life. Like, I know we're shot, they were awesome. Bernie's got one, Bernie's got one that might be my favorite video, Bernie's
Starting point is 00:26:09 ever shot ever. I don't want to, I saw that one. Yeah, I don't think you've heard about my Sunday. Yeah, I have. You should hear this story. I don't want to tell it on the podcast because I don't want to ruin it. Okay, so we do end up here. It's a really great video. Do you want to hear a funny story about some of you having in my house while we were
Starting point is 00:26:24 gone? No so I'm moving on top of all this hate to move houses and So I came back Sunday moved and now I'm actually getting on the road immediately and going to Seattle for another thing We're doing so I am I we're downsides and we're going from a bigger house to small houses because we just want less stuff You know we're going through like a I can small houses because we just want less stuff. You know, we're going through it like a... I can support that. I totally... Yeah, I should have done it years ago. So my old house have a media room, which is just like where it has a screen on the wall
Starting point is 00:26:50 and it has a projector and all the stuff. So I said, Brandon, I don't have any place to put this base green, this projector in my new house. Do you guys want to take it and put it in the anix, which is bringing in the live action guys and moving to the anix, a new space we ran in next door because we've outgrown this space in the office? He said, sure says sure I said you can also have the couch there. He says great I said the only thing is you have to go get it because I'm going to be out of town and I need to move that stuff out of there so that I can come back and
Starting point is 00:27:14 just work on everything else because okay that happened. My wife explained what it was like to have Chris and Brandon show up at our house and move a couch downstairs. Move a couch and just take it disconnect the projector from the post and just take it away. He just brad at he chose Chris to come with him. Here's what my wife said. I always said she went up there and they had to couch. They had to couch sideways up against the door like sideways. That's not true. She's like she's like you have to turn it end to end to get it through the door. He's like okay. No. You really think that, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, We already tried we
Starting point is 00:28:11 So then she wants he said she wants to Chris try to unscrew the legs with a screwdriver and she had to tell him on every leg Other way to screw cuz you get screw right to loosen it right? Crazy hard to We learn the digital world burning So he's probably that's why that's what you pants. They want to get the legs out this couch They can't get through the door So my wife suggests well, why don't we just take the door off the frame and that way we can do it and They say okay, so they get the screwdriver to unhooking the frame the door And my wife did the first one like she unhook the hinge from the wall from the frame of course the frame
Starting point is 00:28:41 They start taking the hinges off the door Which will leave the hinges laying there was they try to jam the couch to the doorway so my friends no don't do that so you just undid both the hinges from the door and from the wall and that was in a pile and when I got home that was in the pile somewhere so you put the door back on no no we offered and Jordan said not what you offer you just do it no because they're moving other stuff out of there so they might want to kept the door out like they had other big oh, oh, there are other big couches in there No, no, they had like you know big tables and stuff So we asked and we offered and she said no, I know you're mad
Starting point is 00:29:13 I'm actually chill off the Tony's story because I said I have to tell the story of the podcast and she said Maybe you just had something for us and I go no So then in somehow in the process they punch a hole in the wall Really yeah, and that somehow that happens then they try to get the projector down and then has two screws so they can't do that We got the projector down. Yeah, but the post is there in all the cables for all of you now and everything and I guess Brandon You felt bad for a bunch of hole in the wall, so he thought I'll take his speakers off the wall He destroyed $1400 for this me I'll take his speakers off the wall. He destroyed $1400 for this
Starting point is 00:29:52 What happened to them you know you know when something screwed to the wall when you unscrew the screws it So he let the speaker fall and it busted the posts on the back where the speaker wires So it was like and then where it fell down the wall it like straight He's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, what's wrong with those people? We got a three-cushion couch out of the second floor of your house downstairs, which window did you throw it out? You only punched one hole in the wall. That was my bad. So enjoy your new couch and your projector that you guys will like. In terms of how do I have new want to put the speakers in the new house anyway, so it's all okay. I just have this funny story. It came back, it was like every room looks like cleaned out and there's one room which is like... It looked like a tornado.
Starting point is 00:30:55 It's really bad. But we took all the projector stuff out, we just didn't know how much to take. Like, you want to go through the ceiling and take out the wire? I just imagine Brandon the room, punching holes in the wall. I don't know what So angry what am I doing I'm putting holes in the wall looking for the cables I've been sitting in the door of the hinges. It's still be trapped in the room couch sideways
Starting point is 00:31:22 couch sideways Go go and lift that couch You see in Chris and I You're like we don't have houses. We don't have wine There's always a reason why you don't know basic stuff. It's basic, but basic is like it's relative Your definition of basic is relative to your experience. It is. You think something is. It is capable of shirt idea. Because you learned it based on your own experience. But basic would be across all boards. That's why it's basic.
Starting point is 00:31:55 It's like the base level of knowledge that all other knowledge is built off. I would like everybody has a different definition of basic. That's what the problem we have right here. There should be no uniform standard basic. agrees basically like religion man basic people define what basic information is relative to their own experiences there no there is a small baseline of information oh there's a small baseline that you can know and apply to different scenarios it's not one of them for instance i'm gonna throw this out there. Okay. Gravity.
Starting point is 00:32:26 When you untrue something for the wall, it will go down the wall. It's smashed. It's like unscrewed and waked away for the fall. It was really heavy. I love how high brain and sports gets when he's doing something. It's so heavy. You're getting it. The speakers were in part of it.
Starting point is 00:32:41 The speakers were just like, both of this. Oh, I feel bad about breaking this down the wall. Maybe he won't notice if I break all of them in the fun of it. I mean, even it out, I'm putting more holes. Yeah. Gowd. Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Starting point is 00:32:54 I try really hard to come on Sunday to help fix it. On the way out the door, you're stabbed the dog. No. No. Oh, God, it's out. I didn't move. It's out. Thanks, Bernie.
Starting point is 00:33:04 Yeah. I have to give a shout out though because we didn't go into cons for a very long time. And it's, it's, uh, it is a lot of work. It's, it's like a full nine hour day. Man, the night, the day that we had the party, yeah, concerted nine. We're all from 96 to 8 or 7 30 years. We were there at 730. Yeah, and then You get what 730 so 730 to 6 pm is when the exhibition hall closes our event started 7 Randall 2 in the morning, so that was like 930 to 2. Mm-hmm. We were going that stuff And then back again in the next 730. Yeah, we showed up. I all of every morning of the event to set up and clean up at 7.30.
Starting point is 00:33:46 Yeah. And then like I have to edit our real removes stuff that was sold out. Oh, yes. But that's the thing I want to say. I want to give a shout out to the people who stay, A, go early and then B, stay after everyone goes home to break down that booth and palatize everything
Starting point is 00:34:00 and ship it back. Because we do all that stuff ourselves. Yeah. Who was that guy that did that this time? Barbara and Carrie and me. Wow. Yeah. Go team. We had a way. We it was and it gets a lot of work Yeah, I think you get delirious, but think about it is that especially me and Carrie and you we've done so many of these concepts like It's natural It's natural, but it's still hard work man. It's really hard. We had some trouble. We had some trouble finding a palette this time We almost we almost had to give in we almost gave up on it
Starting point is 00:34:27 I know what that means because I helped you Like a few times, but yeah, they have to go get a palette of wood to stack everything on and those become like gold It's true. Yeah, it's like you if you wait for the normal process You can wait four hours maybe and you'll eventually get one or you can be like active you can actively sequin out But it's very difficult. We did it. We did it. Or they did it.
Starting point is 00:34:48 You're also in Boston, which is if I'm guessing Greg is a union town. Big time. So watch out. Yeah, we have to be extra careful to avoid any broken arms. Yeah, one time I moved a dolly in Dallas. It was in Dallas, yeah. And Texas is not known for unions But a union guy came up to me guys. Hey, did you move my dolly? I go yeah?
Starting point is 00:35:08 Yeah, yeah, I just needed it for one second. He goes cool Hey, listen if you touch my dolly again, I'm gonna break your arm and I would Ha ha. You guys don't touch my dolly like it's like yeah, those guys take their stuff very very seriously Yeah, he was like he was dead serious. I was there too. I peed myself a little People in Boston that working on the convention, they were all really great. Our enforcer, who was in charge of our booth, normally I have children remember people's names. I could not forget this guy's name. He came up as we were setting up on Thursday night.
Starting point is 00:35:36 He's like, I want to introduce myself. I'm your enforcer. My name is John Adams. No way. Your name is John Adams. I'm from Boston. In Boston. I go, yeah. I'm not forgetting your name. So then they had like at the end of the event
Starting point is 00:35:47 They had a survey and they were like was your four-star okay? Yeah, they're like would you use them again next? Would you like him again next year? And I said no next year. I want Thomas Jefferson or George Washington You can't give me one of those guys. I guess John Adams is okay They're all great though. They helped manage our line. I think Saturday because Friday was just out of control Yeah, so we had I think four enforcers. Yeah, we had four separate enforcers watching. Apparently we had the biggest booth size to line ratio of the entire con. A booth size to line ratio.
Starting point is 00:36:14 For Ag about it. Like we had the biggest line for the size of our booth. Really? Yeah. Nice. So someone's Siri just like, it's coming to our ears. That's what you know, it's a mouth pocket. Do you really wear these look on Barbous Fakes' Barbars in our Siri video?
Starting point is 00:36:26 Yeah, one of the victims. I'm still scarred for the night. And I looked up and she's like, I'm in the eyes. We're wide. Well, she's listening. I gotta run. I gotta go do something. All right, cool.
Starting point is 00:36:36 Well, I think we're probably almost ready to wrap up here. Okay. We got a, we have a special segment which will air after this in the podcast. You were in the spoiler cast. Yes, Gus Okay, I'm gonna leave before Bernie Dereels. I'm not gonna say spoilers here. I'm just a spoiler I'm super glad that people like the spoiler cast. I don't want to hear about it anymore People's messages anymore about it like this guy that we talked about the assassin. Yeah, Kyling Kyling or whatever He's in all the books. I know it now. I listen Kyling or whatever he's in all the books. I know it now
Starting point is 00:37:05 I listen trust me. I know he's in all the books I get that message about once an hour for like the last week and a half. I don't care Thank you. He's in the books. I know it. I'm aware of this fact No one needs to send me the fact that Kyling was in the books. It's always great when people Reading is for dorks. They were done. It went over really well and hopefully we can do some more Mass effect universe related stuff in the future. Yeah, it was cool. It was fun. We had been a venture yesterday I don't know if you would let's save that for let's save that for next podcast I really wanted to get into it this this week, but I don't we don't we don't have the time. Yeah, I'm gonna play to get out of here
Starting point is 00:37:39 So I had a great time packs packs was awesome. Thank you just for organizing you get a vent thanks to Thanks for organizing great party barber. Thankacks was awesome. Yes, just for organizing a good event. Thanks to the space for organizing a great party, Barbara. Thank you for everything you did at the party. You're welcome. That was a lot of fun. And we can no longer make fun of industry parties, because we had one of those parties. Oh, great.
Starting point is 00:37:54 We had one of those parties. Great success. And thanks to everybody who came by the booth and our panel. We love meeting everyone. And before I forget, we have to mention that Joel and Marshall are in Australia attending the supernova convention I forget what's these there and I think they're a Melbourne and their boats and their booths 59 I believe okay So go if you're in Melbourne say hi to them this weekend I'll be very goalcoast say hi to them next weekend
Starting point is 00:38:17 And we'll post about it this week too for any reminders for you. Yeah, and so and stay tuned We're gonna have a couple of people on from Bioware to talk about the old Republic and Upcoming changes to the game. I also want to say one more thing. All right. Everything we said about like just getting booted from the con It's that it's their con they can do whatever they want. They can do whatever they want. We're just talking about it's important interest But yeah, I mean it's private event. Pay your take guys run it, they wanna boo us, they can boo us, you know. Oh, no, another play. So, we released a new batch of shirts and it's our first merch update for like six months.
Starting point is 00:38:51 So if you haven't seen those, check them out. Nifle shirt I think is probably one of the coolest. Nifle shirt, yeah. Yes, math with Maine. Okay, well, thanks for listening and thank you. Thank you. Hey guys, we did this interview with BioWare. Before we knew that the 1.2 patch for Star Wars,
Starting point is 00:39:04 the Ill Republic was actually being released this Thursday. So we talked a few times about it coming out very, very soon and we apologized that we did not know at the time of recording. But anyway, enjoy! Rock, Fist, to-a-wait for the Rocksman. R.A.W.K. of course. Which you guys' your name is applicable. Might be the most appropriate username, slash theme songs.
Starting point is 00:39:41 Let's go get it. We'll say Rooster Tee, Ther Drunk Tank. Rooster Tee. I couldn't tell. Rooster Tee. Rooster Tee. So we got podcast number 161 here. 161. We have Adam and Jack here from Rooster Tee, and we're joined by two special guests. We have David from BioWare, making his second appearance. Yes. And Dallas from BioWare, making his first appearance. Very first premiere. He's rookie. I I'm pretty excited I get a prize at three Yes, right you guys give me a little punch card. Yeah, okay, make sure we'll put it on the way awesome It's like a loyal sandwich. It's your loyalty card
Starting point is 00:40:12 So you guys work at BioWare here in Austin on the old Republic Which is for those people who don't know a Star Wars MMO or an MMO set in the Star Wars universe is in fact The Star Wars MMO. Oh, yes, these Star Wars MMO. Oh, and so is this Star Wars MMO? That's right, none other existed at this point, right? Like as Clone Wars adventures. That's true. That's true. So it's A Star Wars MMO. Let's go back to where we are.
Starting point is 00:40:35 There's a legal definition where that's not technically an MMO. True, true. In some way, shape or form. Yes, absolutely. So David, you know, introduced himself last time he's here. Community Manager. Correct. Community Coordinated. Community Coordinated. Yes, absolutely. So David, you know, introduced himself last time he's here. He got a community manager. Community coordinator, community coordinator. Oops. I would say got someone else's job away from them for the old Republic. Dallas, what do you do with the director of production? Director of production. Wow. That sounds really important. I ask him for things he says no. He's actually what I do a lot of.
Starting point is 00:41:00 So I run all the producers and and project managers man and by run. I mean like bulls at Pamplona So you like to just through the halls of bio where you just have like producers It's once a week. It's an event people bet people drink as you watch all the producers run all the QA guys have like scarfs Side around their neck It's awesome We have an internal podcast that we don't share, and it's just videos of that. You'll just start it up a podcast yourselves, right?
Starting point is 00:41:31 We did, we did. We launched a pilot episode just to try it out and see what would happen. It seems like people really like it, so I think we'll keep making more. We will crush you. I don't know. I don't know. Our goal right now is just like we got to get a buff rooster teeth on the list and we're fine.
Starting point is 00:41:46 NPR, creative NPR, but like as long as we're buffers with number one. Except for you have to be specific. Video games number one. Oh yeah. Gaming, not number one because wait, wait, don't tell me. Beats us. And they call themselves a game because they're kind of like a talk show game. Right.
Starting point is 00:42:02 And they are like the number two podcasts overall in all of our scenes. It's like, I'm a listener. Yeah. I love the show, but I hate them at the same time. Because they're always about, it's like mocking me. It's like, we could be number one, except like one of the most popular podcasts in all of iTunes is in our fucking categories.
Starting point is 00:42:18 You should talk to them and get a guest spot on their show. Like you guys should be the special guests for the week. And then you'll just jump right over them. Oh, I like that. I'm a big polypound stone fan maybe. The comedy stylings of polypound stone, you have all of our discs. Yeah, yeah. She's disc. Oh man. I'm excited now. Let's talk about polypound stone some more. Please. So we brought you guys on because here coming up pretty soon, the older public is going to be launching. It's 1.2 patch, which should see some pretty significant changes and some new content.
Starting point is 00:42:45 So we were curious to hear about it. I know it's a super mega content, Pat. It's got super mega content. It's some pretty awesome stuff. Well, you guys had the 1.1 patch brought in the new Flashpoint, right? Right. We had a new Flashpoint and a new operation in the 1.1. And then 1.2 has a Flashpoint and Operation of Warzone, a whole new daily quest area for the high end game, but then it also has some significant features. I think some of the stuff that the community has really been to Jones and War. I mean, legacy in the UI customization. That's more
Starting point is 00:43:13 than anything we're excited about. Exactly. So those are both some pretty sick features to be added in. Honestly, the UI customization, we knew it was going to be awesome. That's the thing that gets the huge outouts whenever we're like Oh, yeah, and now you hear this screen with like kind of like translucent blue and green and red stuff and people go Beelts on a item. Yeah, do you remember that like we were showing a trailer and like everybody's clapping for legacy and clapping for Gil Banks and then UI customization comes up and people like jump out of their Screaming or was this You'll send it to Gil's oh, yeah, yeah. It's probably, I mean, at least for me.
Starting point is 00:43:45 It's like one of those things that I want so badly. And it's like always there. It's every time I log in, it's like, it's the stuck UI. And then every time I log into live, it's like, oh, I can move stuff. I think with stuff. And then every time we have a raid night on live currently, it's like, why are these bars still here?
Starting point is 00:44:07 That's the bomb! That's the one thing that legacy and all that, it has moments where you can use it and where it's very useful, and a lot of ways, always useful. But you always see the UI, constantly, every second. And we know especially for the high-end player for the people for the people who are rating We're doing all all that kind of stuff operating. Do we say operating? Operating I say Yeah, it's the sounds it's running operations. Yeah, those are the folks who really really are gonna love this because yeah You can do whatever you want you should you should trademark operating operating well, what are you doing tonight?
Starting point is 00:44:42 I'm operating with my friends. Yeah, we make the team try to take a shot anytime to say rating It's on our word. Oh man. We just do shots whenever I was like hey do a shot. Okay, got it fair every time certain players on a race for St. I yeah, yeah, take a shot and I'm sure that makes the rate or the operation go much And then much more enjoyable no Adam and I were psyched psyched man We just we finished we finished progression last night. We did our 16-man Karaga speedrun on nightmare And so we're pretty cool like our guild is so big that we have an eight-man nightmare team and a 16-man nightmare team And so and a couple other eight-man hard mode slash nightmare teams. Wow. Yeah, they kind of do their own thing there Yeah, you know, they don't post the leaderboards or anything like that, but. How long does your speed run take?
Starting point is 00:45:27 We did it last on an hour and 34 minutes. I mean, you have to do it under two hours. To get like, there's special titles you get if you do it under two hours in the air. So you crushed it. We did pretty good last night. We, like, the second boss is a jargon sorno and Krogas Palace and those guys are bastards.
Starting point is 00:45:41 Like, if you, if you catch a bomb. If you catch a bomb, it's an understatement. Yeah, the first, the first time we've tried it. The first time we've tried it. At least you have armor. That's true. I get too shot, doesn't matter what happens to me. You're a little bit squishy.
Starting point is 00:45:50 Bubbles, armor buffs, everything, and I still, it's just like, up, I just got hit for 23k. No, I love my bounty hunter, but I love running a bounty hunter because I have very little responsibility, because I don't have an interrupt or anything. So I'm like, you can't blame me for missing this. I'm like, well, sorry. Nope, I'm a merc.
Starting point is 00:46:07 Nope, no interrupts to me. But then like, Krog's pal is actually Krog at the end. You can cure, or a mercs can cure. So you get that weird vortex thing that pops up and so I can actually hit that. I'm actually pretty good about that. So you're actually useful. So I've never been useful in any game party. I always play that the role that is the,
Starting point is 00:46:25 well, he's just doing DPS, I guess. Have fun over there. Help out if you can. Yeah. And the most out is your camp. Yeah, I can't be dependent upon. You're like below the healers on Agro. Exactly. Exactly. Like a spectator. I'm faced with these guys. Are you done yet? That's kind of the way I get involved. Tab out. I'm just live blogging. That's right. So what do you run? What characters do you run? I run a juggernaut. It's actually my end game character, and then I'm actually trying to level up the Jedi Knight right now.
Starting point is 00:46:51 Nice. I'm getting very excited by the legacy and all the fun stuff that I'm going to get. So what do you think your favorite part of the new 1.2 patch is? Like one of the new features going in? For me as a player, it's legacy. Because I'm a completionist. I'm a sociopathic completionist, and so I'm going to finish every single character progression's legacy because I'm a completionist. I'm like a sociopathic completionist
Starting point is 00:47:05 and so I'm going to finish every single character progression and therefore I'm going to hit all my cool little race on locks, all of my class on locks, all of that stuff and then sort of you know, turn my legacy out to where I have every single unlock power across the board. But I know that's the way I play. I'm not, as I said, I'm not very good at endgame. So, you know, I like the new war zone, the new war zone. Awesome. But yeah, I'm probably never gonna do anything on nightmare mode.
Starting point is 00:47:30 I'm probably not gonna hit the novaric host. Yeah, so I'm all about that. I do a little bit of UI customization. And I guess I now need to actually maybe start paying attention to what my guild is doing. Now the guild bank is this, because then I get freestyied. I mean, that's, yeah. You know, you've actually given us a lot guild is doing now the guild bank is then I get freestyzed. I mean that's uh yeah. You know you've actually like you've given us a lot of stress because of the guild bank.
Starting point is 00:47:49 Like we've been talking now for about two weeks trying to figure out what the hell we're going to do with our guild bank. Because like I said we have so much to do with this. Because we have multiple raid teams. So it's like like raid teams want their own guild tab but it's like but then I have to like figure out how to like work like do we give special ranks for each kind of guild is it so so. Oh right right right. It's true. You have to manage out how to work. Do we give special ranks for each kind of guild? So so, right, right, right. It's true.
Starting point is 00:48:06 If you want to manage your permissions pretty good. Yeah, yeah. Manage permissions, then on top of that, we have to manage rank, we have to. Each guild bank costs a different amount of money. So it's like the first one gets the really cheap guild bank, but then a leader team who maybe is eight man has to pay more because if they want their own,
Starting point is 00:48:23 they're now in tab three, so just like how do we manage that? Well obviously you get the first tab, and who cares about that? I think it's kind of given Jack of this for like 3 weeks, but is there any way I can instill a guild tax? That's what I want to know. A bunch of people ask us for that. Really? Yeah, absolutely. Every time you log in, otherwise we take your firstborn, you know That would be a pretty cool mechanic every time you receive loot like 10% of it went to your guild or every time you sold something Some of your I mean I say it's someone as someone who who would be in charge of a guild I think it's cool. Yeah, I think of someone who would be in a guild. It's like a Yeah, I think it's someone who would be in a guild. It's like a mean backer. It's like those big government guys
Starting point is 00:49:06 Spend baby Every time I loot money that's perfectly fine. Don't take my profits Well, it's also I mean now so have there's guild repairs too So it's kind of one of those things where it's like but you have to have money in the guild bank to cover guild repairs And we don't want you know like our our progression raid team is gonna be just destroying that guild bank if you know we get that it's kind of like it's like a weird statement I think collectively like our progression nights where we just like for four hours just take wipe after wipe as we're learning a fight I mean I think our records like 450,000 credits yeah just just make everyone pay the white space yeah yeah was that yeah that was
Starting point is 00:49:41 the that was either Kroger so I'm one night I think it was actually both We had we had hit the point where we were four or five in both zones on nightmare So we were like we were having to get used to Kroger and we were having to get used to so but so it was still in the really weird flux phase where it was kind of still Janky So it was like we'd get to the bottom and then it would bug out or something when happened We like well there there's a repair bell Yeah, it was like it was just constant repair bells all night long as we were learning and someone was actually accounting someone was actually sort of ticking Well, I guess you see the I mean, I know I paid
Starting point is 00:50:14 450,000 credits that night and I'm a healer. I don't I'm typically not one of the first to die right So I know there are typically I've've had my moments as everyone on the stream is seeing where I know there are other people who have died more than me and who have died less than me, so I'm probably in the median. So yeah, some of our radiance are really expensive. Yeah, what is fun, man? Like the first time we downed so on Nightmare, our first 16 man Nightmare take down, this was just like so awesome. It was like very, very exciting. And then when we got, I mean, we did progression last night.
Starting point is 00:50:51 That was awesome. Like we, I mean, you know, being there from the beginning where it was like, you know, we went from 16 man story mode all the way out to Nightmare speed runs, is like really crap. Like just, and that's the past, what, three, four months now at this point. Yeah, we've been, we've been been rating for about two and a half months.
Starting point is 00:51:07 Have you kept you operating? I think you mean operating. Take a shot. Where's the shot? Have you kept the same core team the whole time? Or have you seen much change in the group? Well, I mean, we've got some fluctuation. I actually, I was one of the original members,
Starting point is 00:51:17 or I missed the first raid night. And then I joined the patch. It's like first nine or something. Yeah. And so then I joined and then I actually dropped out because I was doing a lot of like traveling and stuff like that And then I recently rejoined the main crew. So I would just kick something out. No, no, Adam. Yeah now we had
Starting point is 00:51:33 We've been through a bunch of some people just not being able to make it and then I was having to replace them and then Top grading some players, right? You know, it's we run a tight ship with the progression rate force. We try to keep the best players on our force. And me. The people who play attack. And Jack. But it's been pretty cool.
Starting point is 00:51:54 It's fun to be on the bleeding edge of operating. It's cool to see us all around in our turbos and everything. Taking over entire rate areas, we be like, what's up? You know, like sitting outside the teleporters, like 16 of us all in our giant, you know, mounts and fire trucks. Fire trucks. Fire trucks. But I think it's your overall guild. I think we've had almost 400 at this point. Um, it fluctuates. It's total, we're, you know, we're well above 400, but we've,
Starting point is 00:52:21 we have, as of yesterday, I pruned and we were down to about 300 unique players. Yeah. Okay. We our main guild is only main like there's only one character per person. Okay. And then we have one kind of like sponsored Alt Guild and then there's a couple other Alt Guild that are just like friends and and clicks who have you know made couple other Alt Guilds that are just like friends and click to have made their own Alt Guilds. So we're the drunk tanks, then we have the drunk holding tanks, which is for the Alts. And then some others. It's funny. So we were actually one of the first people to get on the game because he pre-ordered as soon as he could. And so we were in one of the first servers. You're gonna bring this up again?
Starting point is 00:53:00 Yeah. And so our server is actually the one like it's a massive server on Shadowlands And we've got it's us the drunk tanks and then we've got the pinning arcade guilds on there What's what's their guild title? It's remarkable circumference. Yeah, we've got the reddit guilds around both on there So it's just sit it and get it and then we've got another you got the old timers league which the timers guild Old timers guild. Those guys better out forever. Yep it's like, we have all these massive guilds. That was insane. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:27 So it's a pretty damn big server. That's a serious server with them. Yeah. I remember when the game first launched, we were on such a populated server that we had worst two times in other servers. And I'd sit there watching the counter be like, fucking Adam, why'd you pick this one?
Starting point is 00:53:42 But of course, I'll have that one away. I like the game. You guys have the ones who like, you guys will have a lot of them. And then apparently you like I guess certain like I think Jettit was originally assigned to our server. And then Sith it was like, well, if you're going to be there, we'll join my group. Yeah, like they moved to us.
Starting point is 00:53:59 And then there was a couple other guilds that like just joined our side and it just got huge. I mean, I don't know if we're, I know we're in the top 10 of the servers in terms of population. I don't think we're as big as the fat man. I think that's fat man is fat man rules. That's where my PvP characters are. Very appropriate name. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:21 But I'm tied for. But yeah, I mean, talking about legacy again, you were talking about being a completionist. I also hate that because I kind of ignored my companions for the longest time. And now I'm like, oh crap, so I'm like having to go to the auction house and pick up, you know, all these level five companion gifts and they're all crazy expensive. Oh yeah. So that's how I've been playing the game for the last like, you know, month has been logged into PTSD. I was like, oh, I get cool stuff if I'm maxed companions and then I log out, go to live, and start maxing out my companions.
Starting point is 00:54:48 And then once I'm done with that, I'm like, oh, I need to finish chapter two on some of my ults and then I'll keep playing. So I've like, I've been doing legacy stuff without having legacy yet. And I'm like, I'm so ready for legacy. I've been lining everything up. So now I'm at that point where I'm running out of things to do. So it's just like, I want been lining everything up so now I'm at that point where I'm running out of things to do. So it's just like I want this patch, I want all my hard work to finally meet something and where I get all my buffs and all the cool stuff. Yeah, I'm in the same state because I had the insider information, so I knew the things
Starting point is 00:55:16 that were going on. So my progression with my juggernaut, I maxed out all but one of my companions just through my general gameplay. I wasn't even having to worry about that. Oh, wow. Because I was just like, all right, well, you're close enough and that the later companions actually get affection faster. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:31 And I guess it's the conversations they have are higher value and all that. So I was doing a whole lot of companion swapping with that in mind. But now I'm like, when do I get my treat? When do I get my presence buff? I remember that half of me, I was with Blazers. I think it was Blazers or our Scat or someone like one of the later bounty hunter Companions and I did something and it was like minus 700 Efection. It was like oh my god
Starting point is 00:55:54 It happens with scourge if you're a Jedi knight. Yeah, something you can do that he will just 700 Yeah, it was something resol your affection. Wow. I was like oh you bastard Did you load from an earlier stage like Like F1F2, F1F2. But I absolutely use the escape from conversation. A couple of times. I was like, oh, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, I didn't want that to happen. Let's do that conversation.
Starting point is 00:56:15 Yeah, it's kind of ignore that one. Yeah, I think the legacy system is probably the feature I was most, I've been most excited about and I'm really, really psyched to see it finally go live and get some perks. I think the best and worst thing we did was we put that coming soon tab on legacy. I've been most excited about and I'm really, really psyched to see it finally go live and get some perks. I think the best and worst thing we did was we put that coming soon tab on Legacy. Oh, yeah. Which is like basically what we're launching in 1.2 is a giant piece of legacy, but we also have 1.3,
Starting point is 00:56:35 which is going to have more character specific on locks where you can just purchase little upgrades just for that one character through Legacy. And it's what? Did you look on that tab? Of course I have. Yeah. There's like a colleague tap that stuff character through legacy. And it's what? Oh, not continued. Did you look at that tattoo? Of course I have. Yeah. There's like a colleague tattooed that stuff to red it. There's a couple convenience things on that. They're like, oh, I gain extra experience in Warzone's.
Starting point is 00:56:53 But some of the ones I'm excited about, oh, I can summon a repair droid in an operation. Oh, I'll show up and take all of my money. Right. I'm not telling you how frustrating that is. There's a raid leader just be like, mm, people need repairs. Yeah. It it's gonna be a five minute break. We need to do another poll Yeah, especially when we're doing speedruns where it's like every five minutes. I mean that's that's a pull on a boss
Starting point is 00:57:14 Yeah, you know, so it's just like this is a waste. This is a waste of time I want to just be able to walk in and be like boom everyone repair You know like the moment that gets released. I don't like it could cost all of my money. Yeah, price like that. That's a matter of words. We haven't announced the price. No, no,, I mean, it was a very big experiment. We really wanted to bring the guilds in and talk to them a lot and get their feedback and kind of let them know.
Starting point is 00:57:51 It was a big reveal of 1.2, but it was also very much like, here's what we're planning for 1.2, but we want to know what you think about all this stuff. Right, are we stupid or not? Yeah, right. It was kind of like a check for us to be like, are we doing the right thing here? And I mean, everyone was really excited about a lot of features, but we also got a lot of really important feedback.
Starting point is 00:58:10 One of the things that we took really seriously was that a couple of the guilds were concerned about legacy because legacy encourages you to play both factions, but if you're any guild, there's no concern. Are you talking about the one guy who stood up and was rather adamant about? Yeah, but there were a couple guys who talked about it.
Starting point is 00:58:27 It didn't make sense, but it was just like that dude I was like, but that was something that rode down. That was something that afterwards we honestly took a step back and we said, you know, that is absolutely something we missed in building this thing. And we were very glad that everyone brought it up because now it's something that the team is taking back and going, okay, what are we going to do about this? We need to have support for Guild through Legacy. And so they're working on something right now
Starting point is 00:58:49 that I can't talk about. But they, but they, it's a nice free emble to nothing, those. I know, right, you can beat it out. I'm really good at leading up to nothing. Well done. But the team really got a lot out of that. And so I'm really excited for somebody
Starting point is 00:59:01 to give me more money so I can do it again. Right, now it really filling the category of like, a lot of what we were already planning was stuff that, you know, we, obviously, we pay attention to the forms. We pay attention to people sort of on Reddit and offside and all over the, all over the, the game of the sphere. Can I say that? I think cyber space, cyber space.
Starting point is 00:59:18 I hear about the inner webs. Yeah. So we like to think that we're actually paying attention and then locked into what people actually want and need. And we were a lot of that was on target, but like the little nuggets that came through that were like misses. We're like, whoa, that's actually a really great idea or that's something we overlooked. And we're trying to try and react to that as quickly as we can.
Starting point is 00:59:37 That's a really great idea for a community event. You know, instead of just broadcasting information being there to receive it as well, I think it's a really handy. The original purpose of it was just to like basically sit there and be like, all right guys, talk to us. But then as we got closer to the event, we realized that the timing would work out nicely, that we could actually talk to them about 1.2 and let them know about all the features, let them know. I mean, we did a lot of stuff in those presentations that were admissions of issues. Like it was, it was very important to us to come out and say, like, Ilim is not working.
Starting point is 01:00:06 Like, the PVP is not working. We're gonna take a step back. We're gonna fix it and we'll relaunch it, but we want your feedback for that. And so we got to hear a lot of people coming up to us during the presentation and afterwards, explaining to us exactly what they didn't like about the current Ilim and Moote they'd love to see in a new version.
Starting point is 01:00:21 And so that was, it's very hard to go and say, like, this isn't working. Right, you put so much time into it. No, that takes balls. And so that was, it's very hard to go and say, like, this isn't working. Right, you put so much time in. No, that takes balls. It's the company, too. It's very, very hard to admit something's not working. And we were just like, look, we'll be straight up with you. It's not working.
Starting point is 01:00:34 And that's okay. We're gonna fix it. We're gonna do something better. So you said in 1.2 you can have a new daily quest area for the end game. Daily quest area on Corelia. Corelia, right? It's gonna be similar to a villain. It's gonna be PvE, not PvP. Okay, nice. So I might actually show up for it. area for the end game. Jaili Quessaria Crrelia. Crrelia Crrelia Crrelia Crrelia Crrelia Crrelia Crrelia Crrelia Crrelia Crrelia Crrelia Crrelia Crrelia Crrelia Crrelia Crrelia Crrelia Crrelia Crrelia Crrelia

Starting point is 01:00:53 Crrelia Crrelia Crrelia Crrelia Crrelia Crrelia Pretty sure yeah, you got like legacy or you've got valor one and it's me. Yeah Congrats operations Like let's go operating absolutely legacy on locks for valor. You gotta go you gotta do it. Yep, man I think you can pay for them right? That's true. You can pay for those yeah, you're lazy. Yeah, okay I'm very lazy. It's just unlocked like slash bitch lab. I think I'm so excited like I'm an arm stack and I like, that's one thing. Like, we've been running operations now since, you know, since, almost since we could. And I don't think we've had a single arm stack drop. And it's like, okay, I'm ready to start getting some of this stuff.
Starting point is 01:01:34 Yeah, I think a lot of the end game crafting stuff that's coming in 1.2 is going to be pretty darn excited to people as well. Yeah, I forget who wrote the blog. Summer Road developed blog. I think Garrick wrote it on our website. That's basically like, it breaks down every single crew skill and what we're doing to it in 1.2. It's just massive changes for each one
Starting point is 01:01:49 to make sure each one has a specific role in the end game. Because at the beginning it was like, oh, everybody's gotta go with biochem. And now it's like, oh no, actually each one will give you exactly something different depending on what you need. My only qualm with that is as the, like one of the top guild biochems,
Starting point is 01:02:04 it is so expensive right now. It's like everyone needs stems and I'm like I have to craft a thousand of these things. And these mats are not cheap, they're not easy to get, they're not like, oh man, I can't not like- First world problems. Exactly. We're going to be spreading the love of them. Two other people for those, you know. Just let me buy biometrics with my columnite commentations, please just let me do that. It's all I wanted to do. You got too many
Starting point is 01:02:27 sitting around. You're making commendations now. No. No, yeah. In 1.2. Nice. That sounds right. I don't know. I don't know. I know you can get endgame crafting materials through just buying them with fleet commendations. I've tested a couple of them. Like the space commendations? Yeah. That's awesome. That's a great idea great idea Yeah, nice get people to get do those or do those more often I guess you get some gold or not gold you get some credits out of there too Yeah, the day I If you haven't been doing them you should still definitely I think the last one I did
Starting point is 01:02:55 I made it to like I think I had two seconds left and I got blown up I've fucking paid it when that happens I think I think the same thing happened to me, you know, yeah a couple of weeks ago, and I was like fuck it I'm not doing these anymore. I'm just having them back. It's gonna have you geared yourself out though. The power to an extent. Yeah, that's really the difference in ways.
Starting point is 01:03:12 Yeah, you might get ship upgrades and game ones, like you have to get all the ship upgrades. And then some of them actually become a little bit too easy at that point to me. Yeah, very much. It's awesome. Yeah, I'm the one that's space care. So I went through and I bought all the like the level 5 ship upgrades, like the ones you can purchase. Yeah, those are the only ones I have. Like I don't have any other ones at all. You don't'm doing some space. Yeah, so I went through and I bought all like the level five ship upgrades Like the ones you can purchase those the only ones I have like I don't have any other ones You know I have some yeah, yeah, because generally I think those are drops and people you don't get them in in And there's not even a call of sixes there they have our special names
Starting point is 01:03:35 It's the Kuala'm charge phasers. Yeah, some of their cruise skills can make them I believe. Oh, is that true? Yeah, yeah, cybertech makes them all yeah, nice. I had some I'm arms to it. I had some grade two's for a long time. Well, well, yeah, and you were still rockin And I said rockin' it. Yeah, man, I don't need anything else. So how often do you like do you How often do you scan through the forums to look for information and like I mean when there's hot button issues and stuff like that like how often do you actually go through and try to address? I wait for David to That's what we're doing. That's what the community team does We write up reports and pull all that I mean we're on the forums I know some of the some of the design team actually actually sort of crews crews themselves But I think I think most of the rest was tried to stay away until community tells us there's something to look at
Starting point is 01:04:16 I mean reading the forums can bring you down Oh, yeah, you know there is there is a There's a significant end as it's just a player There's a significant undercurrent of hate which is you know It's part of what the forms of force it's a place where people can sort of vent their frustration Yeah, and those of us who've been making MMOs for a long time know that you may not want to go there every day If you want to actually eat your dinner tonight and feel good So you're self-discipline
Starting point is 01:04:42 That's what we're here for exactly. I like the line of defense. We just still things down into legible formats. Exactly. And the results you guys. Yeah. But I think my favorite thing to do is to find a threat on the forum and go and just like read through it to collect some feedback. And then suddenly it's like, up. Adam Rage posted again. It is the internet. Yeah. Yeah. So you said you were making him a most for a while. Where were you before you worked here at the Old Republic? I was at something online for a long time. So I worked a little bit. I don't even know if I can claim a credit. I worked a little bit on some of
Starting point is 01:05:14 the everquest games, everquest, everquest online adventures. Then I was actually producer of planets. I'm banging on the table. Oh my God. Bam! How's that? Oh, that's nice. I can just jump on the other side. I have a question for before Star Wars the Old Republic owned my life. Oh, yeah. You were, you were, you could do. There are parts of my life that were just that. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:05:35 Seeing, missing, whole jazz. Yes. Yes. Years, sir. So you worked at S O U. What else have you done? Like before then? Before then. Or was your progression?
Starting point is 01:05:43 My progression. Like I was a, S O U for a long time. I was at S.O.B. for almost eight years So right here in Austin or in San Francisco it was it was in it was actually San Diego San Diego LA and St. Louis St. Louis were we made planet side Oh, yeah, and then I came here to Austin to work on a I guess a vaporware game And then I moved over and I worked on galaxies for a while. Oh cool. And Gus, aren't you a fan of planetside? I was going to say I loved planetside. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:06:07 I really loved planetside. I'm really excited to see what's going to happen there. I think my experience with planetside was it was a fantastic game that had a terrible business model. It didn't work. And so I always wished that we could have done it better. Yeah, I always tried to describe to people some of my favorite memories in that game. And as I described it, I must sound terribly boring. I was like, yeah, you could be done it better. Yeah, I always, I tried to describe to people some of my favorite memories in that game, and as I describe it, I must sound terribly boring.
Starting point is 01:06:26 I was like, yeah, you could be this invisible class, and you'd sit and you'd wait for 45 minutes. And you'd see a little shimmer, and you'd know there was another invisible person in the room. Then you'd wait another 45 minutes, and then you'd kill them with your knife. Yeah. So you waited for an hour and a half in a room doing nothing.
Starting point is 01:06:40 I was like, no, no, I was doing something. So now I was watching, I was waiting for the shimmer to appear. You just see Gus on his computer, like can of soda or something or a peer. Yeah, with my eyes, like prop open with juice. So what's your typical day like? What do you do by way right now? Oh boy.
Starting point is 01:07:01 The various builds that are coming out. So we have the 1.2 build, we have the 1.3, we have future builds that are being in a planning stage. And a lot of my job is, I'm sort of the head train conductor. So I need to make sure that every single one of those is on track, if there's a feature that is going to slip from one, that we sort of mitigate that and either get some resources on it to make it happen faster.
Starting point is 01:07:22 Or we decide, actually, you know what, it's better if we push it into the next into the next thing make sure that we're actually going through all the bugs you know all the feedback when we've been on the public test server for for the 1.2 build making sure we're going through all of that not just the bugs that are filed but all of the actual feedback from people who are trying all the operations and such and addressing those getting those in his tasks it's really it's really like a lot of this. You much that was a crazy calendar.
Starting point is 01:07:45 Or like some kind of crazy management system with shit just like sliding left and right. You still have that crazy stuff on the wall. It's gone now. That was the stuff for Lawn. Yeah, so the drive down to Lawn, we had an entire, I mean, to wall, the size of that wall. And it had probably 40 rows of the things
Starting point is 01:08:02 that all needed to sync up in for us to actually launch on time the things that had dependencies on each other. Where they like color coordinated like post-it. They were in fact color coordinated. Like there's actually a magnetic board with, yeah. You get really geeked out about that kind of stuff. But yeah, my main function is making sure all that stuff is coordinated so that when we actually do launch something that we know that it was actually done. You also do a lot of the prioritization for bugs and stuff, right? Yeah, so I mean, the triage process.
Starting point is 01:08:27 So you're all the bugs that exist and here are all the new ones that come in. And I'm part of the little group that says, that needs to be fixed now. That can be fixed in a week. Between our major publishers, we tend to do weekly bug-fixed builds. And so it's kind of a matter of, we can only fix so many bugs in a time period and make sure that we didn't break more things with bug-fixed builds. And so it's kind of a matter of, we can only fix so many bugs in a time period and make sure that we didn't break more things with bug-fixing. And so it's figuring out what are the highest value ones,
Starting point is 01:08:51 the ones that actually the community is complaining about that our customer service team is saying, we're getting killed because of this particular bug, prioritizing those ones off, as well as the ones that the design team and the production team feel like, that's followed us for a while, let's get that done. So when we're bug reporting, like invisible lightning balls, on so you guys know, we've been that's bothered us for a while Let's get that done so when we're bug reporting like invisible lightning balls on so you guys like
Starting point is 01:09:08 We can push that You learn to play new James Olin our game director was talking about that specifically a pack Oh, yeah, when the game launched that bug was there But when the game launched that was that had a low priority because so few people were doing the operation And now that we're a couple months in it gets bumped higher and higher on to the priority list because there are more and more people there, but when the game launched, that had a low priority because so few people were doing the operations. And now that we're a couple months in, it gets bumped higher and higher onto the priority list because there are more and more people playing to the point where it should
Starting point is 01:09:31 be fixed. Yeah, the more people, obviously the more people that affects the higher priority. Right. Yeah. I mean, that's understandable though. You guys have millions of players and it's like, I don't know how many operations players you get. You guys have and then on top of that, how many are doing hard in nightmare modes in a
Starting point is 01:09:44 place? Where the lightning balls actually matter? Yeah, yeah, right actually, you know. And there's also a decision based on how risky a fix is. So if you guys actually looked at all of the patch notes that have been on public test server- I did. So like we have fixed a metric a ton of bugs for this for this build. Many of them were actually small ones that we knew about before launching, but they were either not team mission critical or they were actually dangerous.
Starting point is 01:10:10 And so we're in the last few weeks before we launched this gigantic mass-military player game. Let's not do that because the effect is, the bad effect is something looks funny on my UI or my companion sometimes looks the wrong way. They're little tiny things, but they're annoying. And so we have to do a lot of determining whether that's risky as hell, but the payoff is good, let's do it. And when we have a longer cycle like the cycle for 1.2,
Starting point is 01:10:34 we can say, let's do the risky ones up front, see if there are any knockoff effects. When we fix that, did we break something else? We can actually test it for a long period of time. Yeah, and that's great. I mean, the fact you guys, your production schedule is so different because you do the voice acting. I mean, like, that's, there's so much that goes into that. I can only imagine how much, like, how many hours of voice acting do you think you have, like, stalked right now? Like, can you, can you say that?
Starting point is 01:10:55 We have some number. I mean, the writers, I'm talking stuff that's not even out. Yeah, the writer's voice acting stuff is on a totally different cycle. Yeah, I was so far in advance. We have to write some numbers, like two times the amount of voice acting work that was even in Dragon Age. Oh, more than that. Which was, yeah. It's more than that. And I think we got the Guinness World record.
Starting point is 01:11:14 Right. I think we've said something along the lines of actually, it's certainly more than all BioWare games up to our game combined. She's some, and it's something like a 5 to 10X multiplier on the next on the close and the next biggest one which is probably Dragon Age. Yeah. I think it's probably a 5X Dragon Age maybe, but maybe more like a 10X anything else. Yeah. Yeah. So it's a lot and as you say, you know, the lead time for that is actually pretty significant. So, you know, the scripts for 1.2, all of the stuff that happens in 1.2,
Starting point is 01:11:45 those were actually written several months before we shipped. Wow. So, that stuff was actually off to get cast and voiced and all that. So you guys are like voice recording 1.7 right now or something. Yeah, we're ahead of the game. We're not as ahead as I'd like to be, but we're ahead of, we're ahead in terms of the stuff that we know, you know, the kind of the larger pieces that have significant amount of story to them.
Starting point is 01:12:08 That's cool. Well, if you guys ever need any voice actors, I know a few here in Austin Texas. I know a couple. You guys know what I hear. I even have my own microphone. I see that. You got your own, you're only cooking all these stuff. This is all like, we have people's knobs. It's fine. It's fine. It's fine. You just slide us five. I see level of the bouncing over there. And that seems legit. When I got this mixer, I poured over the manual to make sure every setting was right.
Starting point is 01:12:32 And I've subsequently forgot how it's also what to be set up. So I have a picture. Oh, that's a word. Yeah, that's a good thing. And the compare is like, is it the same? Yes, OK, we're good. It's the wrong.
Starting point is 01:12:41 I know this is how it needs to be. I don't know what the buttons do though. But I'm so surprised. So you can let me know. Oh yeah, you know some audio stuff, right? No, I took some classes for sound engineering. Nice. Actually, one of the routes I was gonna go before I decided
Starting point is 01:12:54 to do server engineering instead. Before you decided you hated people. Yeah, well, more specifically, I hate some bandy people. They can be really irritating. I mentioned Fry fry some board forever ago, so that's good But nice if the green lights are bouncing then it's great typically. Yeah, all the cables you still want the red ones I can see my voicey thing on the wave thingy there Man, so I mean like so do you still play the game for fun? Are you at the point now where you're still like?
Starting point is 01:13:27 I do. I don't play as much as I like to because I made the mistake of telling my wife that I'd gotten my level 50 character. I was like, all right, I'm maxed out and now I'm just doing endgame. She's like, oh, then you don't need to play anymore. Well, I err. Yeah, so now it's more catch-it-catch-can. I burned through that first one in under a month. I was playing fast to get to end game.
Starting point is 01:13:46 And then since then, I've been playing very slowly with my alt. Yeah, I played a lot. I played a lot of old Republic. And I don't remember how long it was. It might have been two months after launch. One day, my wife was like, wow, you're still playing that game? You haven't finished it yet?
Starting point is 01:14:00 I was like, actually, that's when she realized, it's an MMO. She was like, oh no. Right. She was about you in a while.MO. She was like, oh no. She was like, oh no. She was like, oh okay. I think this look of disgust and contempt under face was priceless. Yeah, I don't know. I'm nervous now about rolling a new character, but I need the legacy level. So I'm like, okay, what do I want to roll? Have you only played a bounty hunter? Only bounty hunter. Oh man. I'm sorry. I did trooper one time because you guys, when we had it
Starting point is 01:14:26 on the first podcast, we were allowed to talk about the Empire side. And so we had to roll Empire. All right, we had to roll OIS. Yeah, so just like a lion with public spirit. It's actually going to beat that out. Because of that podcast, during the beta, I had only played force using classes.
Starting point is 01:14:43 But because that podcast had started to try Smuggler on the Republic side and then that's why I like I've launched I played operative. I was like oh my god The smuggler's so much fucking fun Sorry, yeah, yeah, yeah, during during all the beta. I played through I played through the the smuggler I played through the agent and I played through the inquisitor as well and and yeah agent is by far my favorite story The agent agent it blows your brain away. I'm like halfway through right now. There are certain moments in the Inquisitor story that I really loved. Just like, and I'm not gonna spoil it, but there are moments when things happen. The thing is I and the stuff.
Starting point is 01:15:14 And I love that. I know exactly what you're talking about. It's just like, yes, it's happening. What's in it. And then like the animation and everything that goes involved. When you see everything happen, it's absolutely fantastic. So are moments in the inquisitor storyline that outshined all of them. But overall as a story, the operative is definitely my favorite. Has anyone played the Jedi Knight yet? I've been saving about. I'm at level 30 with mine. So I'm about to finish acting. So I got spoiled for what happens at the end of that story. And I'm just like, that is like the story I need to go through. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:15:48 That's gonna be the epic story. I don't wait for it. Maybe that's what I'll do. I mean, the mistake after, you know, I hit 50 and operative. I decided to roll a knoll and I started playing an assassin. And I was like, wait a minute, why did I just play two sneaking classes back to back? So I mean, I'll do a Jedi knight. So what's your legacy name?
Starting point is 01:16:03 Or if you want to release that or not. I won't tell you what server I'm on my legacy name is is aventinus It was because it was the beer I was drinking when I when I got my legacy This is a good beer and there you go nice nice David. Yeah, everyone. I don't have it on my agent yet Because I haven't finished act one I basically play a bunch of different characters and a bunch of different servers Which I've got a multiple legacies or not because I have so many So I have no idea what what name is gonna be available. I'm probably gonna go for Nihasa Pima pedal on Yeah, I'm the sauce legacy sauce of my is enchilada so I've enchilada sauce Yeah, yeah, my mind is is beers so my my character names are all beers that then the adventinus legacy nice
Starting point is 01:16:54 I'm shocked you're able to get fast dude me too when I when I try to like wow I can't believe I actually pulled that off and I was gonna say you were you were in pretty late too Yeah, I hit my 50 I guess about a month in or so. It took a little while. Like I don't know, I mean, how many days did it take you to hit? You were in, you were in the beginning. You were 50 before launch, right? I was 53 hours after launch. No, you weren't. Yes, it was. Three hours. Oh, three hours. Yeah, so a week after because you were in the first day of a first day of head start. Right. And then the official launch of the game, I was 49. That's right. Because you were in that right. We didn't make it and then we're just like we got to get you know
Starting point is 01:17:28 And I think I was like server second or third or something. You didn't come to our midnight launch party. No, I did not that's right It was one of the things was like Shutting down And I was like where's Adam? He's like oh he's hoping I live in super far north Austin and you guys decided to have it way down here. You work here I think you were just kept down the all that's no no you didn't come in to work all that I need to add them. I have to log into oh Republic on my computer It's an in-game mail. That's a good IT. Yeah, so I was among the fastest on our server and probably overall.
Starting point is 01:18:12 That's pretty fast. There were only a couple of people who were there in the first week. Yeah. So you guys track all the stats, right? Oh, yeah. You have a ability to track that. Are you ever going to release that kind of stuff? You would know that.
Starting point is 01:18:22 We really just a little bit of it. We talked about some of it. Yeah. The speed that people are going. We talked about some of it. Yeah. About the speed that people are going. I mean, it's one of the things we actually talk about is that the number of hours it takes people to get there is actually exactly where we expect you to be. Yeah, you saw our leveling graphics. It was awesome.
Starting point is 01:18:35 Perfect. That's the smoothest leveling I've ever seen. The problem is that people are playing too much. People play too much. It's like it's silly thing. What an off-line problem. Exactly, but, you know, it's the number of hours is good. The number of days is significantly shorter, because, you know, unlike every other MMO
Starting point is 01:18:52 that I've either worked on or that I, you know, know people and have gotten the data from them, people play almost twice as much. I think the number we have is that people are averaging five hours per day, which is like, you know, for the hardcore players that makes sense, but this is the average. Yeah. The thing that drives your crazy to that is that that means that there's someone out there playing for like 16 hours straight, right? Right.
Starting point is 01:19:11 Yeah. Because this is an average, right? That's you. Exactly. Between like, you know, I mean, I stay logged in here at the office most of the day, running cruise skills and all that kind of stuff. And then, I mean, at launch. You're screwing our average?
Starting point is 01:19:24 Yeah. That's my fault. At launch, me and a couple of my friends, we used to play, I mean, we play, I mean, at launch. You're screwing our average? Yeah, that's my fault. At launch, me and a couple of my friends, we used to play, I mean, we play MMOs kind of exclusively. And that's kind of our type of game. It's like what we like playing. So at launch, it was like me and three of my friends were all like, we're taking a week off. We're, you know, we're going to stay at home.
Starting point is 01:19:44 And it got to the point that we we were playing about 19 hours a day, going to sleep for five hours. Like everyone would wake up at the same time and we were like, all right, day two, let's do this. Our goal was to be, you know, the top players on the server hit 51 so we can start farm right here, start pulling the content that no one else is able to pull yet and Yeah, he is not exaggerating. No, I would go to Bay and he'd be online. Yeah, I mean I'd wake up the next day and he'd be online I'd be like did you sleep? Yeah, like for like two hours like what?
Starting point is 01:20:19 Yeah, it was you know, it's what you did a slash played last night. How much what were you gonna talk about it? You know, it's what you did a slash played last night. How much what were you gonna talk about it? I was I was on a main character to like I have four fifties. She's so like That main character is not even close to what and you also have I correct that you stayed up all one night last week Just finished mass factory Last week's podcast. Yeah, I have a bad tendency of making stupid decisions for video games. Last week, I thought I was way further in the game than I was. I was like, oh, it's not like I'd been able to do this. I based it on hours instead of where I was in the story.
Starting point is 01:20:57 I was confused my first 12 hours of gameplay. That was all just waste in terms of storyline. I ended up having playthrough. I beat it in a total of 25 hours, but a good like seven of those were Monday night, starting at like 11 p.m. I thought it was like an hour and a half out and I was not.
Starting point is 01:21:15 You were not a boy. Totally close. So I beat it at like 5 a.m. Tuesday morning. You would only drink a coffee and like, I wanted to work every month like. All right, I've got an hour and a half of caffeine buzz. I'm gonna do the podcast and everything else that they might just be kind of iffy.
Starting point is 01:21:31 I knew something was wrong because Adam walked in that morning with a Starbucks cup in his hand and he never drinks anything like that. Are you okay? No, he's his first. But you were, from what I heard on the podcast, you were on to Chanka, right? You were just on to Chanka when you saw you were finished. were finished on that's like the second main mission of the game. Yeah, and you're
Starting point is 01:21:50 Yeah, well no the thing is the thing is it was the second main mission But I made the mistake and I said this last week. I made the mistake of They they kind of changed the way that the mission system worked There used to be like a priority tab and now there's just priority missions right and I missed that So I was just going down the top of the list. I was like, I'm doing some quests. I need to go here, I need to go here, I need to go here, and I missed that. So my first, like, 18 hours of gameplay.
Starting point is 01:22:13 You were just doing an open-world quest. I was like, yeah, my first thing was the DLC. Didn't even know that I did that and landed up getting, you know, the stuff from the DLC. It was wireless. No, I can't, I can't talk this week. So, yeah, just, the whole Mass Effect DLC and it's wireless. No, I can't, I can't talk this week. So yeah, just that whole mass effect, anything messed up anyway. You know, I still cannot let my galactic readiness
Starting point is 01:22:30 go below 100%. I'm still doing the deal, Pat. It's starting to mean not. I'm playing multiplayer. I finished the game. I finished it perfectly. And I'm still like, I'm checking on, you have the iPhone app, they'll let you keep it up.
Starting point is 01:22:40 So I'm like on the iPhone app, and I keep the readiness going. I've already bought all the upgrades, so it's like, it's ridiculously easy but I it's got to be at 100% of the way. I don't even know I don't know why I'm doing it. I like it's like I can't bring myself to delete it. I can't bring myself to stop.
Starting point is 01:22:57 Is this an OCD support group? Is that what's going on right now? It sounds like you're going around. You got what you got here man. You're a completionist. I am. No, that's why I said I started this thing. You're a completionist. I am. No, that's why I said I started this thing. Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 01:23:07 I have to finish. Honestly, it hurts me that I have not found every codex entry on every plan. The thing is, it really hurts me. The thing that I found out, which I think we fixed in 1.2, is that those codex numbers were wrong for like which, how many there were. And so like, it's driving me nuts because like you're missing one on this plan. where is that one what am I missing and it turns out no I had them all it's just Right I was wrong but I think they updated that at a whole point too Yeah, that you're so much of a completionist and I am I'm a completionist in some regard
Starting point is 01:23:35 But I'm a completionist in terms of content like I want to clear everything. I want to clear Mm-hmm the party's difficulty in all right, but codex things, and even as much as I play, I don't care. You don't care, you don't know that. Not just like, I left that planet, and it's just not even an issue. I don't give a crap. I do not go back to that planet. If I get it on a different character, cool.
Starting point is 01:23:57 I think one of the things that I'm also looking forward to because of legacy is because I'm a completionist, but also I didn't want to blow the XP curve. I did all of the planetary content on my juggernaut. I did very few flashpoints. Really? Because to do them, I would have been way ahead of my XP curve. I did all of the group content on my planets as well as space games. So I was always actually ahead of where I needed to be in order to complete my story.
Starting point is 01:24:24 And so now with my second character I'm now gonna start doing all the flashpoints and maybe you know, maybe some of the world content I'll be leaving aside. So I'll be doing you know Obviously my class content, but then but then sort of doing my XP by completionisting I'm just pointing all these Operating completionist thing. I am way more OCD than you are. Yeah. Because like I can't I can't not run a Flashpoint on a new character. I'm like no, no, no, so Tielson she needs me. I can't I can't I need to be able to run this flashpoint because they need my help and I have to do all the world dishes
Starting point is 01:24:56 I have to do all the flashpoint. I just once I think on my on my on my juggernaut I did I did obviously a black talent and then I did athus and hammer and That's it. Yeah, in level up. I did something a black talent, then I did Aethis and Hammer, and that's it. In level lots. I did something similar where I skipped, oh, I did Directive Seven. I did. I think I did like black talent in Aethis, and I skipped all the other ones. I was just doing planetary content, but I had a problem where since I was playing an operative, I decided just to stealth all the time, and I sneak around and it would be
Starting point is 01:25:22 low on Xp then. Yeah, so I was constantly like three levels below where I needed to be. I was like, oh shit, what am I going to do? I had to meet a bounty hunter where I ended up on Tatooine and I got to one of the actual class quests was fighting I one-on-one and he just, he just roped from there. You kept making just bad decisions. Yeah, you'd walk in the often, like, well, I was a level over that planet, so I just left it and I'm like, what?
Starting point is 01:25:43 And then like a week later he's like, I can't be a level over that planet, so I just left it and I'm like, didn't like it. And then like a week later, he's like, I can't beat any of the class quests. I'm like, yeah. Well, the problem like now, I'm asking for a break. Well, the thing is, too, we, you know, we have the guild there, so I'd just be like, hey, you can someone help me with this. And typically, someone be like, yeah, sure, no problem.
Starting point is 01:25:56 So I'd definitely, what are you talking about? Oh, okay, so we, I sort of have like three people rolling through my class quest. This server shows up on your planet. I'm gonna help. Yeah, so, Jack. And then I didn't be on my own and be like, oh God, what am I doing? What's going on? But, man, I love it.
Starting point is 01:26:10 It's so much fun. I mean, the story line, I mean, I've only played the bounty hunter in like, that was such a cool story. And it's just like, that's a lot of fun. And I've only played bounty hunter through Act 1, so don't bother me. No spoilers. We're pretty good about spoilers here. But yeah, it's pretty cool.
Starting point is 01:26:25 And I mean, just like the operations, everything about the game is so much fun. It's really, really cool. I'm waiting for the guild ships, though. One of those coming. One of them, give me a guild ship. We can pilot around. I'm hoping at some point, and I'm sure you guys are planning on going this route. But like guild perks, and I'm sure the guild ships are going to be a part of some kind of system.
Starting point is 01:26:45 We've said their design docs for it. Have you seen them? Because I've seen them, and they're pretty cool. Yeah, I think so. One of the things I think we, not only committed to, but we committed to publicly at the Guild Summit, was that we understand that Guilds are a huge part of the game.
Starting point is 01:27:00 We have a dedicated team that is kind of, I mean, they're kind of going down the list of, like, these are the most wanted, most desired guild features. And so, you know, the guild bank was, was the, oh my god, we need it. And then we have, we have a couple more things in the pipe in terms of, in terms of things that will help with the management and sort of planning for, for guilds and so on. But if we, if we, if there's some way we could do like guild battles, like have guild ships battle each other, and I could have like 300 guys on turrets like rolling up next to like the the pinning arcade
Starting point is 01:27:26 Gilt ship like how awesome would that be? No comment like I just like yeah, I just want to like you like the game for years You sit at the turbo laser or Shooting just like firing it, you know, they look for game tyco like where are they but uh and then like me, you know Like inch a lot of sauce up there with this giant wheel piloting the ship you know, like, inch a lot of sauce up there with this giant wheel piloting the ship. That'd be so hot. I like how you're piloting a ship through a three-dimensional space. Absolutely.
Starting point is 01:27:48 I'm going to be like, oh my god. Obviously, yeah. Yeah, just flying around like a bus. But, yeah, I mean, there's so many opportunities for the game that I'm just like, you know, I can only imagine, I mean, I only have a limited imagination of what we could do, but like, as far as what can actually happen, it's just like, oh my god, you know, I'm super excited to see what's coming up next. Yeah, we have again, boy, we have a huge back all of the things we want to do. And then it gets into that prioritization we're talking about, I mean, you're working with James and Daniel as kind of the design leadership of the game, as well
Starting point is 01:28:18 as then what can be done and what time frame to say, you know, all right, what's the thing that is going to be most impactful? The players really want, or is just gonna blow their minds and push those things up. And so yeah, some of those things that you talk about, like we've talked about that kind of stuff, but it's like, well, that's kind of high in the sky. It's a big technical challenge, and is the bank for the buck and I actually be,
Starting point is 01:28:36 how many people are actually gonna participate in that? And so we have to balance stuff based on that. Well, I'll tell you, if you do pull that off, we will be streaming that live every single time We go to battle like even even if we'd have like you know individual like individual like x not x wings But like some sort of like ships that you could jump in and also have like you know almost like battlefield not battlefield battle front style like combat Oh my god like PVP space combat with guilt ships, huh? Okay, my my my now this James Olen said we have a secret space project
Starting point is 01:29:04 He has sent all he says, man. So he likes to say that same phrase repeated like a space project. Yeah, space project. How so? Cold War, yeah. Could be, could be. But that, and also one other thing I wish we had,
Starting point is 01:29:16 especially last night, there's no chance where I'm gonna see server first announcements or anything like that, is there? They've talked about being very anti-data. The team is really against that competitive I don't want to say against but they really we don't we don't want to push that that competitive nature of the game because so much of the game is not an end game which is very different from other MMOs there were so many people at launch who just kind of powered
Starting point is 01:29:39 through everything Adam 50 and missed out on what we think is some of the coolest content of any game ever. Now it makes sense to me why you played EverQuest 2 because EverQuest 2 was all about server first, right? It would like that the whole, you know, the whole, if you were an achiever mechanic was like you actually hit this thing. And that's very much, I mean, I'm, you know, of those dumb little online things where
Starting point is 01:29:59 you take the quiz. The Vardals 4. 30% killer. I'm a achiever. You know, like, I'm a driver. I'm a driver. Achiever. I'm very much an achiever. That's my thing is I like to know that when I played through this game I was paving the way the whole time.
Starting point is 01:30:14 You were the best of the best. Yes. That's what I go for. There's been a lot of that that I've absolutely loved about Star Wars. They were the public. I don't really need the server first mechanics I like a lot of that stuff for guilds like when you're guild yeah yeah but I don't really care about it you know advertising to the whole server unless it's like I mean there
Starting point is 01:30:35 were a couple of events in in EverQuest where like when something happened then very bad things in the world started happening did you kill the sleep profaced the wait we actually we actually have a couple guys who work on the And then very bad things in the world started happening. Did you kill the sleeper first? Wait, we actually have a couple guys who work on the game who actually were part of that. Man, I would love to meet them. No, I was not. But I've heard plenty of stories of the sleeper,
Starting point is 01:30:54 awakeing and then terrorizing all of my friends for weeks. I don't have no idea. We're getting old school MMO nerds. Was I bored when that game came out? You may have been bored when that game came out. Well, I mean, even stuff like that, you were talking about like, I know like a World of Warcraft,
Starting point is 01:31:06 there are some stuff where it's like, if a raid went down, and you, like, we can call them operations now. So yeah, so if you're operating, you're running operations in a while. But no, it wasn't like a dragon head that would pop up, like, yeah,
Starting point is 01:31:19 yeah, I know that. Yeah, that kind of stuff is like, you know someone down there. I love having the, you know, like, and this probably won't happen until guild ships or something like that. Yeah, that kind of stuff. Like you know, someone down there. I love having the, you know, like, and this probably won't happen until guild ships or something like that. But in EverQuest 2, there was, you know, you could have a trophy room in your guild hall
Starting point is 01:31:32 that showed all the heads of all the bosses you killed. And I loved that because it was just like, you got to see, you got to have a collection even as a guild of everything you've downed and all your accomplishments. And I thought that stuff, too. So, Tobi's a big deal. And I said, you know, I'm without saying timelines and such.
Starting point is 01:31:48 I'm just from as personally. I'm a huge proponent of giving people the ability to have the trophies, to have them visible to themselves, to their yield in some other way. You know, I mean, we try to do it a little bit with titles, obviously, you know, some of it is your gear. People see you walk by and they're like, holy crap. Where the hell did you go?
Starting point is 01:32:04 And you're like, well, yeah, or the mountains and stuff like that. Yeah, exactly. Some of that is, some of it is your gear people see you walk by and they're like holy crap Or the mountain stuff like that. Yeah, exactly Some of that is some of that is is publicly exposed But I'm a huge fan of again also being a completionist like I want my trophy wall Yeah, I want the thing to show that I have actually that I've actually done all of this stuff I want to know my you want the blank the blank spaces for you to fill in exactly Made a lot of blank spaces. Yeah, it'd be cool if you if you walked into a viking and there's a news announcement or something like that, like ex-gill, downed or whatever. It just says, Jack is awesome.
Starting point is 01:32:31 Yeah, exactly. If we could say that, you know, insolata sauce is boss. Like, tell me like that. Oh my god. Then Joel could pay them to change it. I'm telling you. Jack Mono. You could drink all the beers on the fleet and then we'll get to a name plaque.
Starting point is 01:32:43 There we go. But, I'm looking forward to it. And so, at one point to you guys having to make any announcements about when it's going up But it's this one very very very soon. Yeah, the very very very soon TM. Yes, super. Yeah, we don't take very very very soon very often Right, yeah, very often. Yeah, the fourth very is that's the key when you have to be listening You guys would drive me crazy all weekend Because I mean I've been I'm very invested in one point. So I'm really wanting this to drop. Yeah So I've been like watching all the coverage and then something will go up on the website and then it'll be like It's that day. Oh, nope never mind. So we have that
Starting point is 01:33:19 Soon actually know it's very soon and very soon is different than soon. It's like I'm gonna kill all of you For your booth at packs were the people they're playing on one dot two or the They're playing 1.2. Yeah, they were just I mean, so in general people could just walk up and play 1.2 just create new character We had a couple machines that had legacy unlocked so they could play around with that new system and Create a new new new species class combo or play with the new heroic abilities and then during the day day, a couple times a day, we would do the new, the new war zone, no bare coast. That was actually the first time I didn't get a chance because I was working on
Starting point is 01:33:50 packs. So I didn't get a chance to do all the play tests internally. Yeah. So the show was the first time I got to watch people playing it. Yeah. And it's hard to, it's hard to explain it without showing it to people. Because when you're like, oh, three point controller, it's just like, oh, it's Alder on it.
Starting point is 01:34:02 And you're like, no, no, no, no, it's very different from Alder on it is. And I was watching people playing and I was like, oh, it's Alder on it. And you're like, no, no, no, no, no, it's very different from Alder on it is. And I was watching people playing. And I was like, whoa, this is way cooler than I thought it was. So I'm really excited about that one. So you guys had a good pack, so? We did great packs. We had some nice stations. We were really cool like keyboards.
Starting point is 01:34:16 Yeah. That was first time we got to show off the Razer peripherals, which were awesome. The keyboard mouse headset, mouse pad, buyrazerzone.com. I'm going to cut, I guess. That's our A-Z-E-R. No reference to the razor, guys. We gave away some razor stuff at our panel, actually.
Starting point is 01:34:33 Yeah, okay. But I think the guy got on stage. Anyway, that's a whole different podcast. It was our first show post-pac, post-launch, and we really weren't sure what was going to happen. So we kind of wanted to take it easy. There was a little bit of trepidation, we're like, yeah, you know, because there's a lot of positive, but there's also a little bit of negative in the, again, did I say the inter-rebus fear earlier? Cyber-spacephear? Yeah. Yeah. So, but I think it was really, really positive all of the really good.
Starting point is 01:34:55 It was. I swung by your booth a couple of times. You came to hide a couple times, I saw. Yeah. And I was doing my own like informal survey like if someone was playing like I side of it between rounds I'd walk and be like hey what's up maybe like hey hi So you play your public at home and most of the time they're like no I'm just trying it out here looks awesome I'm gonna go get it. So and that was really shocking to me. Yeah, that's the same So you people you had that we're introducing that's really what we were hoping for because last year if you guys remember Paxi's last year We were showing off to our five last point. Oh, I remember last year The show floor would open and five minutes later our line would be eight hours long. And it was just ridiculous. And we were like, okay, this year we're not going to have that.
Starting point is 01:35:32 It's okay. This isn't a problem because people can play it at home. But it was nice because we had a little community lounge where people could just come and sit down and some people would sleep. Did you have sleepers there? We had a couple sleepers, but like, did you roll them or did you let them sleep? We'd let them sleep for like a minute or two,
Starting point is 01:35:49 but then you walk up here and it's like, hey, excuse me. And before you even get the rest of the sentence out, they know so they just like start packing up their stuff. Like, like, yes, sorry. Oh, that's when you start piling stuff on them. Are you turning them into a fort or something like that? We just put all the swag on top of them. And when you asked if you rolled them,
Starting point is 01:36:04 I thought you meant like steal their money. That's what I meant. So I was like, you guys just like jump in, check out what's in their wallets. You just open up their swag bag, and you start taking out like, Oh, you guys got some free codes from League of Legends. Thanks.
Starting point is 01:36:15 No, it was pretty cool, because you guys had that little lounge area, but you also had like a stage too. So I thought I'd do it in a Q&A as I was walking out. Like, we did very, Q&As every day. We did, like, we did a presentation about legacy, one about the UI. We had a nice crowd every time. They were really excited to see all the fun.
Starting point is 01:36:27 One day I was really tired and I just wanted to sit down and I went and I was like, oh, they have that lounge. Oh, we're probably doing something. I went to sit down and you were doing one of those presentations and it was fucking packed. I was like, I'm going to go find somewhere else to sit. It was nice. We had a really good show. We gave out those baby taunt taunt codes, which everyone was really excited about. taunt on fawn the taunt on fawn yeah so it's the taunt fawn in game but we didn't want to call it we didn't want to call it a taunt fawn like at the show because people might not understand so we're like it's a taunt on fawn it's a baby taunt taunt fawn it's a baby taunt taunt
Starting point is 01:36:59 so taunt taunt fawn fawn. But those things went out like crazy. There was a little shady operation going on. I tell you about this. I've heard there was a little bit more of a good thing going on. There were five kids who were camping out our booth and just grabbing people off the lobby and like, hey, get me a coat.
Starting point is 01:37:16 And then they would just grab as many because they get sell them all on eBay. Oh wow. Yeah, one of those came by our booth. He had a stack of them. It's like, what are you doing? He's like, I'm selling them on eBay. I was like, so with that profit, can I sell you a red versus blue DVD?
Starting point is 01:37:26 Did he buy one? No, fuck her. How much are the selling for an eBay? I think I have a couple of. He's... No, I'm only going for 30 bucks right now. Really? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:37:34 He said, the time you said you selling him for 25. Yeah. Jesus. They're going for 30 bucks. But I think the gop and value is a year ago. I mean, I'm trying to point out to people, like, yeah, you can buy one of eBay if you want, but you'll also have tons of chances this year to get one. So you might want to hold off for 30 bucks, but I think they'll go up in value as a year goes on I mean, I'm trying to point out to people like yeah, you can buy one of the baby if you want But you'll also have tons of chances this year to get one
Starting point is 01:37:48 So you might want to hold off a little bit of sell them now is what you're saying right? No, I'm saying wait till next year and then you can sell for 50 bucks. Oh, I say yeah, yeah Yeah, hold on to the other right. I'm selling right now or or you wait and do it supply and demand baby I know right so we're gonna supply to go down exactly So are you guys gonna do anything with the collectorsistion like users at all? Like any more additional stuff? I know you guys added some of your...
Starting point is 01:38:10 Yeah, so the collectorsistion store is gonna get some restock. Oh, no, yeah, that's one of the things that we've committed to. And I'm not sure, I'm not sure actually what the pieces are. There is a new, there is a baby tantan in there that's different from the last one.
Starting point is 01:38:22 Oh, it's a different one that's right, that's cool. Yeah, so I think you email me, or like, this shouldn't be here Just because we talked about the other day like you can't get this in the game and I was just like Like there's addition to it. I we've a couple different stuff We got a couple different ones hidden. So if that stuff coming in 1.2. Yeah, well, yeah Yeah, so I think we're we've sort of committed to like any anyone the major publishers We're gonna do a little bit of a refresh at the Flexization store actually I think the same at the security security key store
Starting point is 01:38:48 Because that's one of the things that like I'm a vegetarian public service announcement Use the security key guys Don't use the way He doesn't actually register the code He shut off he had it registered on his account and He he he shot all he had it registered on his account and You know more security because it's on your phone. So yeah, I have so I said I said it up It'll set up my phone, but for some reason it wasn't Not properly because I went through the whole process don't like my phone don't blame me. We're at showed up with numbers
Starting point is 01:39:14 But anyway, so he would just be I've been ran a number between user and keyboard Wondered why the security key vendor wasn't working But anyway, it's fixed now, So, now I'm all about that. So I mean, especially, I mean, running a guild, running a guild of 400 people, it's like, it's important for me to be that. Oh, gosh, yeah, if you're so good with a guild leader, because yeah, then people could lute your bank.
Starting point is 01:39:32 Yeah, the bank has those options too. You can lock down the bank, you can own a security gate. Really, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, it's nice though, that now you can actually make officers like require security,
Starting point is 01:39:41 because I really, really appreciate it. Yeah, that's a neat feature. There's no reason not to have one, especially because you can get it for free. Yeah, I really really appreciate it. Yeah, like yeah, that was doesn't need features There's no reason not to have one especially because you can get it for free. Yeah, yeah, all right Well, I think we should Wrap things up here. I know you guys are really busy. You've obviously got a patch to go work on Really really really really soon Four four Really is different than varies like well
Starting point is 01:40:02 We really really really really really appreciate you guys coming on Thank you guys very much And I guess we'll be talking about packs next week. Don't forget to pump my podcast Before I leave maybe yes, you won one more you know pretty starpy. Yeah, sweet. Alright. Alright. Well, thanks a listen. Do you say Slurpy or Swirly?
