So I want to talk to you guys before we get started for a few minutes about one of my favorite topics, wine.
Bright Cellars is the wine club I've been using for the last few months,
and I know I've been raving about it a lot,
but it's because it's the first wine club that actually repeatedly sent me wines that I actually like.
Bright Cellars has a wine quiz where you answer questions like,
what's your favorite type of chocolate and what's your go-to drink at the bar?
Based on your responses, they'll tell you the top four wines that are best fit for you.
What's really awesome is that you can see which wines they recommend for you for free when you use my link.
Take the quiz and see your results at brightcellars.com.
Make sure to use my link because if you quiz and see your results at brightsellers.com slash Sheena.
Make sure to use my link because if you like your matches and choose to sign up,
you'll get 50% off your first shipment.
That's brightsellers. party with Sheena Shea.
This is Shenanigans. And now, here's your host, Sheena Shea.
Because we're good as gold. Because we're good as gold.
Because we're good as gold Because we're good as gold
Hey guys, welcome to another episode of Shenanigans.
Today, I have a very good friend of mine.
He is amazing, talented, one of the best performers I've seen.
I'm not just saying that because he's sitting next to me.
Bryce Vine, how are you?
Oh, keep going.
I'm going to. Do you see this list of compliments I have?
Don't look at him yet.
That's not all actual.
No, it's not. There's some questions. There's some stories. We're going to have some fun.
I'm excited.
But first, we always start out with a little game because it's called shenanigans. Get it?
Yes.
Yes.
Yeah.
All right.
Almost immediately.
So have you ever played Heads Up?
Yeah.
Yeah?
Like the game, the only fun game to play in class?
Yeah.
Okay.
Or like when you're standing in line at like Disneyland
and you're just like bored, it's taking forever.
Oh, I've never, okay.
Yes.
Okay.
You ready?
I'm going to do this and then I have a lot of okay. Yes. Okay. You ready? I'm going to do this, and then I have a lot of questions.
Okay.
Okay.
So I'm going to go first.
Okay.
You're going to describe.
I'm going to guess.
Then we're going to switch.
Okay.
I don't think I know this game.
You don't?
No.
This game.
Oh, are you thinking of Heads Up, Seven Up?
Yes.
On rainy days.
Yes.
And then you cheat because you look and see the person's shoes
and then you pick the yes see i think that's that's like a 90s kids thing i don't think what
is this i don't think kids anymore no okay so this is um where you're gonna place it on your forehead
and it'll so it's gonna say a word and you have to describe that word to me and if i get it right
then you go down oh if i don't know it or whatever, then I'm going to skip it. I've seen people play this. Okay.
So we're going to do the adult supervision bad behavior version.
All right. Cool.
Are you ready?
Yeah.
Okay.
Here we go.
Okay.
Okay.
OG dating app.
Tinder.
Yeah. uh og dating app uh tinder yeah oh uh the thingy that goes like this on a woman's areola uh the thing that they they uh they they move and so they're like oh a titty tassel. Yeah. What most women get their husbands for Christmas.
Watch, cologne.
They wear.
A shirt, a button-up.
No, sorry.
The girl wears it.
Oh.
Skip it.
Okay.
Going into a campground and the first thing you do is you...
Pinch a tent?
Yes.
a campground and the first thing you do is you...
Pinch a tent? Yes!
Something that you
should never do when you're eating with a friend.
Eat their food?
Eat with your fingers!
Well, kind of, but you...
Eat their food with your fingers.
What was it?
Eat your food with their fingers.
What are you doing?
Double dipping. Oh, okay, like you have a french fry and you have ranch What was it? Eat your food with their fingers. What are you doing? What is this motion you're doing?
Double dipping.
I didn't know what else to say about it.
Oh, okay.
Like you have a French fry and you have ranch and you put it in twice?
Oh, yeah.
That would have been helpful.
Oh, lingerie.
Okay.
Got it.
All right.
We didn't do very well.
Now it's your turn and I'm going to describe.
Here.
You got to hold it.
Okay.
It's a song. Come on, ride it, let's do it.
What are you riding?
Oh, Genuine, Pony.
Yes, go down.
It's this big, fluffy thing that you can wear.
They have them in a lot of photo booths.
Ah, skip it, fuck it.
Okay, when you want to trip someone and so you get both of the things they wear on their feet and you put them together um you
tie their shoelaces yes yeah together yeah um okay this is the thing you have to have on when
you're driving at night your headlights yes um my vehicle is very dirty
So I'm going to take it to the
Car wash
Yes
Oh I do this at the end of my show
In Vegas
When I'm taking things off
Strip
Tees
Yes
If I were to grind on you right now
I'm giving you a
Lap dance
Yes
And not a bath but a
Shower I kept wanting one answer to be blowjob just once
maybe that's like the next version of this yeah they don't have the like the
cards against humanity version of this game i guess well it says that it's adult supervision
but whatever they don't know what we can handle.
There's an even adulterer one, but that says two.
So maybe
that's it. I don't know.
Anyway, that's just a little fun
thing to get us kicked off. I always like playing a little
game. I'm a big game person.
So
I have a lot of things
I want to talk to you about.
First, I just want to say congratulations on your song, Drew Barrymore, hitting radio stations everywhere.
Thank you.
So exciting.
We're going to get back to that because I have a little clip I want to play for my listeners, for those who haven't heard it yet.
And there will be a swipe up link on my Instagram so you guys can go and download his song.
It is amazing.
But I want to talk
about how we met. Yes. So do you remember the first day you met me? The first time I
met you was, do you remember? Cause I remember it was, it was Stephanie brought me to, Oh,
Oh, that's like the first, first time. Okay. No. Oh, see, I remember. I remember the original first time. Okay.
My ex-girlfriend introduced me to you.
Wait, where was this?
At that bar on Wilshire.
That doesn't matter.
Oh, okay.
No, I do remember you telling me this, though.
But no, I was still with your husband.
Yeah.
Holy shit.
Yeah.
Because when you guys date.
Yeah.
That was a while ago.
That was a while ago. That was a while ago. Okay, but then we re-met because you and my ex-boyfriend Rob are very good friends.
We are.
And it was like right after my divorce.
And it was the first time him and I had hung out.
And I don't know what he was doing, but it was just like me, you, and Aaron sitting on the couch.
Do you remember this?
Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. We were all just like me, you, and Aaron sitting on the couch. Do you remember this? Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
We were all just like watching some terrible movie or something.
Oh, no.
It wasn't terrible.
And we were like, who is this chick?
But it was kind of an awkward first, or I guess second meeting.
But after I got divorced, Rob and I had started talking.
Long story short, he invited me over for wine and a movie.
That sounds romantic.
I thought it was just going to be the two of us.
I walk in.
It's like boys night.
I was like, wait, what is happening here?
Who is this guy?
I guess he was too afraid to be alone with me in the same room so short after I had gotten divorced.
He invited his boys over and we had a little movie weed and wine night.
I think we watched Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates.
I didn't like that.
But it's a Hawaii movie.
I remember most of this.
Obviously, there's some stuff thrown in there that I had no idea about.
Yeah.
But yeah, cool.
Yeah. So just for... We've been friends for idea about. Yeah. But, yeah, cool. Yeah.
So just for –
So we've been friends for a minute.
Yeah.
So it's been a minute.
But I am glad that despite the breakup that you guys didn't have to take sides and we can all still be friends.
Same here, Sheena.
So Bryce was recently out in Vegas and came to see my show what did you think of it I loved it
you know I loved it I know but they don't know that oh well now they know that I loved it too
so it was one of his friends bachelorette parties and um one of his lesbian friends and she has this
big rainbow sash on Bryce head I thought it was a
bandana but it was like a rainbow speedo around his neck and every show we pull three women on
stage to mimic giving a hand job and so right when Chester sees he's like my friend is very gay yes
like I mean you just you can tell and I was, you should pull it back. He's like, oh, honey, I was already going to do that.
And oh, my God.
It was one of the funniest times that we've had with someone on stage during that.
You were dying laughing.
It was amazing.
It was fun to see you on stage having a great time.
And that guy, Chester, he was great.
And Emma had a blast, man.
Yeah.
He was great.
And Emma had a blast, man.
It changed her mood from being kind of down because she was like on everything in the world probably.
Yeah.
To just feeling great and laughing and having fun.
And it was an epic, epic, epic experience watching Emma assume she knew how to handle.
It was weird.
It was like seeing your sister playing with sex toys.
It was just like there's something uncomfortable about it,
even if it's funny.
Yeah.
But we had a good time.
Sure did.
The show was fun.
We went out after,
and we couldn't get into the club.
Yeah, that was my fault.
Yeah, but... I don't dress up very much.
No, but I mean, you shouldn't have to.
And that was the thing.
That's how I feel.
You know, you shouldn't have to.
I think that you have great style.
Thank you.
You looked cool that night.
And the club wouldn't let him in because they said he was wearing sweatpants.
They were track pants, but...
You know, yeah, I didn't think they were sweatpants, but...
Fair enough, though.
Like, I've been...
If you wear the same outfit you were wearing on the plane...
Yeah.
Maybe you should change before you try to go to the club.
But now it doesn't matter because my song's playing in Las Vegas on the radio.
Next time I'm going to go wearing just that rainbow thong.
As you should.
But I was going to say, I guarantee you that these clubs are now going to want you to come out and perform.
And it's like, oh, remember when you wouldn't let me in?
Remember when?
Yeah.
Take that back.
No, I'll still do it.
No.
I know.
No, I'm saying they should take back the not letting you in part.
Got it.
So I was at the gym earlier and I have.
This is fantastic news.
I have my playlist of music that I listen to.
I have all of these songs by you.
Literally.
Do you see this?
You use Apple Music?
Yes, I use Apple Music.
Join the future over here in Spotify. Music? Yes, I use Apple Music. Join the future over here on Spotify.
Yeah, I have that too.
But I have a playlist on here, and I was just going to say, I don't know if I have a favorite song of yours because there's so many.
That's nice to hear.
No, literally.
His new song is Drew Barrymore, but then there's Sour Patch Kids I love because that one takes me back to our childhood.
It's a TV.
Guilty Pleasure, Take Me Home, Bella, Los Angeles, Sunflower Seeds, Glamorama.
Love that one.
So those are the songs I like to listen to when I work out, when I'm driving, when I'm in traffic.
Just wanted to let you know that.
Those are some of my favorites.
Yeah, and I bought them on Apple Music.
You know you don't have to buy them.
Well, I know, but I'm just saying I support the music.
True supporter.
Yeah.
So, Drew Barrymore, I want to talk about this.
Now, do you write all of your own lyrics?
Yeah, pretty much.
Actually, except for the chorus of this song.
Oh, really?
Yeah.
Who did that?
Julia Michaels.
No way.
Yeah.
Wait, how did I not know that?
I don't know.
That's so dope.
So a couple years ago,
she had written this hook idea for Drew Barrymore
over a completely different beat.
It was very somber.
It just didn't work for me.
But the idea was always cool.
And then once I produced this song, cut to eight months ago now,
and I produced this and wrote all the verses and didn't have a hook for it,
went back and listened to a whole bunch of different beats and stuff,
and I found that and remembered the hook for it and used it and it just fit for what i was trying to
say in the song so yeah she technically yeah she wrote that over a completely different part or beat
years ago wow that's so crazy i actually didn't know that no that is literally one of my
favorite songs we have a little clip of it that i'm gonna play for you guys are you ready are we gonna oh i wasn't sure if we're gonna pretend no i'm really doing it
true baby and i want more
and all these other girls keep wondering what the fuck would you for
because you're the next true berry yeah and i want more
and all these other girls keep wondering what the fuck what you for
cause you're something like the summer kind of like a hurricane
and i will say so when i played this song for my mom she's like she loves all that like weird indie
alternative rock music and stuff and when i played this for her i think she thought it was drake was
that what it was i think so she was like wait is this drake and i was like no this is bryce and
she's like wait what like this is bryce's music because i really like it so i didn't realize they
were listening yeah they're they're listening to everything that's the peanut gallery i'm gonna be a little more careful no you don't have to
we're uncensored we're uncensored here yeah um that video how long did that take you to shoot
that video is so dope uh we did it in one day yeah yeah we did it one day in san luis obispo at the madonna inn um oh cool i've always
wanted to go there yeah i didn't know i didn't know anything about it the director brought it
up to me and i saw all the pictures and i'm like yeah this is this is a built-in set why has no
one else done anything totally um so yeah but it was it was uh it was a lot for one day. I mean, yeah.
So if you guys haven't seen the video, you've got to check it out.
It is amazing.
Tell me about the girl in the video.
Christian Serratos.
Why wasn't it me?
Get the fuck out of here.
For real, I didn't actually know who I was going to have for the video.
I only called her because it was like a week before
and they we hadn't gotten like a lead or anything like that I called her to see if she
um was around even though I knew she really wasn't she lives in Atlanta she's filming
Walking Dead she has a new baby daughter like she's good you know but she's also the exact
kind of person I wanted for this video she's such like the all woman you know and she's good, you know, but she's also the exact kind of person I wanted for this video.
She's such like the all woman, you know, and she's a fantastic person.
I've known her since I was 14 years old.
Oh, wow.
Yeah.
So, so I asked her if she knew anybody like in L.A. that maybe like she can like pull a favor from one of her acting friends.
And she was offended that I didn't ask her.
And she she was like, i'll fly out and do
it for free just have a label pay for my hotel i'm like so no because you grew up in la right
yeah so did you guys go to high school together no well she was like homeschooled she was she
was on a nickelodeon show when she was younger when we were when we were young i think she had
just finished doing that oh no way what show uh god uh ned's declassified okay so she was she was somebody on
that i never i didn't know that when i met her but she was a little nickelodeon kid and then she
you know we just followed each other's careers over the years and stayed friends
um and i always just i knew she was gonna get somewhere for sure i just she just had that thing
you know and then i saw her a couple years ago on Walking Dead
and I texted her.
I'm like, what?
And she's like, I know.
And then she had a little girl with the singer of a band
that I'm a fan of, New Politics.
Okay, nice.
So I was like, oh my God, I want to write with him.
Yeah.
So it's really cool how it all worked out.
That's awesome.
It's cool, too, when you've known someone for so long,
and then you're both in the same,
I mean, in the entertainment industry,
but in different aspects of it.
But that's really cool.
Yeah.
So speaking of bands and stuff you like,
there are quite a few questions I have.
But before we do that,
I wanted to talk to you about bio

So, yeah, there's that.
But, okay, you, how many tours have you been on now how many tours yeah
i've been on five five over how long over like four years oh wow i I'll just – the first one we ever did was in 2014 with Carmen.
And then we won a college show competition thing that Echo Smith had won the year before called – what is it called?
It was called – it was just college tour, I think is what it was called.
Yeah.
And then we joined Hoodie's tour for –
Hoodie Allen, for those of you who don't know.
And that's crazy, too, because I know Hoodie.
And then I saw you guys in a Snapchat or something together.
And I texted him, and I was like, wait, you know my friend Bryce?
He's like, oh, my friend Bryce.
And I was like, small world.
Our friend Bryce.
Yeah, our friend.
Yeah, but he, so that tour I actually got on because Black Bear dropped off.
And G Nash and Kyle were also on that tour.
And then I saw Nash have a hit and then I saw Kyle have a hit.
And I'm like, okay.
What are these days?
And then Black Bear did too.
It's kind of crazy.
Now Hoodie's got to have a massive one. So, yeah, that was – and then I did Europe with did too it's kind of crazy um now hoodie's gotta have a massive
one so yeah that was and then i did europe with hoodie also which is insane and then we just did
the one with time fly so yeah five yeah so i was just at his show a couple weeks ago at the l ray
and again another amazing performance like i was just like i was standing there in the crowd and
my friends and i are just like,
he's so good. Literally,
you are such a good performer.
He really is. Natural.
I'm talking about you. Oh, I thought you were talking about
Tom Flass. Well, I mean him too.
But no, I'm saying, no, I was at your show
and I was like,
huh, modest watch.
Yeah, and it's not even that he is.
I know, I'm like, third person, Bryce.
That didn't take long.
No, Time Flies is amazing also.
I was actually worried I was going to run into my ex-husband at your show because he's a huge Time Flies fan.
Oh, really?
And that's who got me hooked listening to them and Hootie Allen.
And it's like, I'm going to run into him at one of your shows because you guys, yeah, same type of music.
Hopefully you're not filming.
Yeah, let's hope not.
But I will say, like, I saw, what was it, Peppermint Club last year that you performed at?
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
So that was the first time I had seen you.
I'd been listening to your music for, like, a year, but I hadn't seen you perform.
And whenever a friend of
mine i mean i i love live music that is like one of my favorite things in the world so i love going
to shows but when it's someone i know i was just like i felt so proud and i was like oh my god like
he's really good like i mean it's one thing to go in a studio and record music but to be able to perform it live, I just think you did a killer job.
Thank you, Shia.
You're welcome.
You're a supportive, supportive woman.
No, definitely.
I always have his music playing in the backgrounds of my Snapchats.
I love posting on my Insta story.
Let's move along.
Let's move on.
Just trying to put the word out there.
You're too kind.
You know?
I mean, I can keep going on.
I know.
You're too kind.
You know?
I mean, I can keep going on.
I know.
So, who is your favorite person or band you've toured with?
That's... Not necessarily that person, but, like, is there one tour where it was, like, you went to, like, a bunch of cooler cities or it was, like, a college tour?
Like, which one was your favorite? This last tour was super dope.
But this last tour was great because I saw the progression in like my career.
Yeah.
You know, doing radio, starting to do radio stuff too.
And the shows were bigger and like having actual fans at these shows. And then doing some of these frat parties like University of North Carolina
and University of Alabama and University of
Ohio.
And like we had never gotten to do all that cool stuff before.
We just didn't have the fan base.
And so that was cool.
But the most fun tour I ever did was Europe with Hoodie.
Yeah.
And his whole crew.
I remember when he was on that tour.
Dude, it was unreal fun.
I'd never been to any of these countries.
How many countries did you guys go to?
Like 20, I think, well, we went to 18 or something different countries, but 20-something cities.
Because we went to like five cities in Germany.
But it was, that was insane.
That's so fun.
How long were you in Europe for?
A month.
Oh, wow.
Yeah, yeah.
That's so fun. Different, wow. Yeah, yeah. That's so fun.
Different city every night almost, too.
There was the first day that we got to, me and my DJ Dave, we got to Paris was the first stop on the tour.
And obviously we couldn't sleep.
We were jet lagged.
We were in Paris.
We were like, let's go walk around.
Let's walk to the Eiffel Tower.
So we walked three hours to the Eiffel Tower from our hotel.
You walked?
We walked, yeah.
I was playing like French jazz music on my phone.
It was way too romantic for like two straight men.
But we got, we saw it in the distance and it started sparkling, the Eiffel Tower.
And then we got closer and we realized that when we found out that when it starts to sparkle,
it means it's shutting down.
So we get there, and it's completely pitch black at the Eiffel Tower.
There's not a light in sight.
There's not even a way to take a picture next to it or anything.
Wait, I didn't know that.
I had no idea it closed.
I thought it sparkled like every, like, because I've seen it.
I thought it was like every hour, every half hour, like after a certain time.
That means it's closing?
We waited at least 45 minutes to see if it was going to come back on.
And it never did.
And we just drank champagne and grass for no reason.
Yeah.
Wow.
Well, you're going to have to go back to Paris then.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
No problem.
I want to go back to it.
That was another cool thing about Vegas for me.
Because I had always, like Paris was like top of my bucket list problem. I want to go back to it. That was another cool thing about Vegas for me because I had always, like,
Paris was, like, top of my bucket list.
I always wanted to go there.
And then I did, and I saw the Eiffel Tower sparkle,
but I didn't get to go to the top of it.
And then I booked this gig in Vegas at the Paris Hotel,
and I was like, it was just kind of cool
that it was, like, a place I had always wanted to go to.
So for my, not that it's anywhere near the same
as Paris and Vegas.
Yeah, but that's still cool.
But for my last show last week and for my birthday, I took everyone up to the top of the Eiffel Tower there.
Oh, that's rad.
Yeah.
And I mean, just looking over the Vegas strip from that high up, I think it was 46 stories.
It was really cool.
I didn't know you could.
Really?
Yeah, you can go to the top.
And then they have the Eiffel Tower restaurant down there.
And it's like they have really good food and drinks.
But since I didn't make it.
Yeah, the Eiffel Tower restaurant has to be good.
Oh, yeah.
That's like prime location.
Yeah, no, the drinks, everything were amazing.
But since I didn't get to go in actual Paris, I was able to do that.
And that was fun.
You'll get there.
Yeah, we will.

Oh.
Wait for it.
What is she stalling on?
You're like, wait, what is she going to say?
Yeah.
Okay, so.
I really did enjoy your show so much.
Thank you.
We had such a good time.
I'm so glad you were able to come.
Me too.
And it was so fun that you and Josh, Josh is one of his other best friends.
And also my agent.
Yes.
Yeah, shout out to Josh Rittenhouse, Jay Ritt.
So both of these guys were going to be in Vegas, but had all these plans, and I didn't
think I was going to be able to see either of them.
And then last minute, both ended up coming to my shows.
But it was cool because Josh came to the early show and then you came to the later one.
So that was one of my most fun Saturdays I've had in Vegas was just like hanging out with both of you guys because we brought up Josh's parents for the first show, which I actually wish you were able to see.
Yes.
So I had to say to Josh's dad,
I was like,
I can tell you to get along with my pussy.
Cat.
And it was so awkward. I'm saying that to my friend's dad. And then his mom comes up and I was like,
oh God, she's going to have to tweak and twist Chris's nipples.
She's going to have to do this and that.
And I was like, I go, right when
she came on stage and I was like, I'm so not to do this and that it was like i go right when she came on stage and i was like
uh i'm so sorry to do this i go this is all your son's doing i go i asked his permission and he
said yes but then right before chester was about to pick the audience members josh texted me
backstage and he was like actually don't do that don't do it they're shy and i was like and i hear
chester out there he's talking to them and i was like too late sorry but they had so much fun with it we all
got dinner after and they were able to just laugh about it but then it was cool because then when i
went to my second show then you and your friends were there and so we brought her on stage all
went out after it was just it was fun it was a great day yeah i was really happy that you guys
were able to make it out it really meant a lot to me so thank you um so going back to
touring i have a lot of friends who are in bands and tour and go you know shoot movies off and
whatever what would you say the best and worst parts about being on tour are
uh the best parts are meeting all the people
in all these different cities and the food.
Getting to try food all over the country
is the coolest thing ever.
We don't realize how much our lives revolve around
just eating different places
and talking about it with friends.
Yeah.
And seeing all the fans know the words to songs.
There's nothing like that, too.
It's got to be the coolest feeling but the worst part about it is
i mean we did in a van so you're in that was my next question do you fly or are you in like a
tour bus you're in a van like 90 of the tour, only 10% of the tour is actually playing shows.
Everything else is getting there, sound check,
making sure everything's where it's supposed to be,
making sure, like, everything else except for the show
is just getting to the show.
And it takes a lot out of you.
Dude, I've spent the last three weeks,
I've been sick with a head cold
i've had food poisoning for like four days and then got strep throat and had to go to urgent
care in nashville like you don't you don't really get any downtime really and since you're people
think i mean i don't know how other bands do it but if you do it all responsibly and you wake up at the times that you're supposed to, it's nearly impossible to go out and party every night of the tour.
Even in the places you want to.
We had a whole club basically at our disposal in Chicago because they listen to a lot of Bryce Vine out there.
And I was the first one to leave to go back to my hotel because I knew that we had to wake up
in five hours to go to the next city
so it's like
if there's a lot of that
balling out stuff
I just haven't gotten there yet
have you ever lost your voice
before a show?
no, I got close in LA
because it had just been like four days
of shows back to back to back
we had driven from San Fran to LA that day and I'd been sick and had food poisoning at that same time so I mean I
was raspy in LA they were definitely turn up turning up the background vocals we couldn't
tell oh good and for those of you who know his music and for those of you who don't you have so
many lyrics.
I mean, it's your music, you write it, but to me, it's so impressive how you remember every word to every song that you're singing live.
I don't always.
Then you do a really good job at pretending.
Quite often, fans even know, a lot of them, they know that at one point in every show,
I'll forget the lyrics to something and I'll need somebody to bail me out.
Is that when you just put the microphone to the crowd and sing it with me?
What's this part again, guys?
I don't remember.
I mean, you could just do what Justin Bieber does and have a teleprompter.
Does he actually?
He does.
See, that's not fun.
To me, that doesn't sound fun.
No, I saw it at the Ellen show.
He had his teleprompter set up.
For lyrics?
Yeah, and then there were girls who were blocking it,
and they had to move because they were blocking the teleprompter.
His lyrics, I mean, he doesn't have nearly as many as you do in your songs.
So I found that interesting.
That is interesting.
I wouldn't have expected that.
What is your favorite city you've been to on tour?
In the U.S.?
Anywhere.
Both, U.S. and out of the country.
U.S., definitely Chicago.
I love Chicago.
It's such a great town.
It is.
People are cool there.
It's clean.
The restaurants are good.
It's good nightlife.
Did you have deep dish pizza when you were there? Not time i mean i've had it before yeah loom all naughties have you been
there oh it's so good if you go back okay yeah all right it's the best there's also giordano's
which they have on the strip that was right by the paris hotel so i ate there a couple of times
and i felt like i was in Chicago, but it's not the same
because you're not really there.
True.
But next time you go back,
you've got to try Lou Malnati's.
It's amazing.
I'll probably text you to remind me of that name.
Yeah, I will.
Okay.
I'll remind you.
I'll go.
What about out of the country?
Amsterdam was as charming
as I thought it was going to be,
but more a little bit too.
It really lived up to the charm.
And I got to see it in, like, August.
Yeah.
Oh, nice.
It was so nice.
It was so walkable.
Like, we walked around the whole city that day, pretty much.
Well, not the whole city, but it's just so walkable that no matter where you go, no matter what corner you turn, it's a great town.
It's super fun.
It really is.
Oslo is very clean, almost like insanely clean.
Uh-huh.
And the people are all beautiful.
Where else?
I mean, that's good.
How is the weed in Amsterdam?
What do you mean?
Oh, I always talk about it on here.
Oh.
Yeah.
See, I didn't really smoke that much when I went there.
Yeah.
Well, I mean, if you're working, you're touring, then you're not.
Yeah.
I mean, that doesn't stop me anymore.
Yeah.
But then I did buy a joint at a coffee shop.
You kind of, you just like, you have to if you're in Amsterdam.
Yeah, exactly.
Yeah.
Exactly.
Yeah.
It was like nine in the morning.
We're on the tour bus and it was the only day that we like didn't have to wake up kind of early and it's like 9 a.m and my my dj is already gone because we're in
amsterdam it's like it's like pothead christmas uh so uh yeah it was good from what i remember
but oh you know what's crazy though so when we we left Amsterdam that night, this was kind of cool.
We had a great show.
We're all heading to Sweden, which is even cooler.
But we know that we have to get rid of the weed before we cross the border.
So all of a sudden, our bus driver pulls over, and he comes to the back, and we're all just laying around watching stuff.
And this is with Hood and everyone too so and he goes hey uh machine gun kelly's tour bus is in
the same parking lot as us right now and they want to know if you want to smoke all the weed
before we cross the border that's amazing it was so dope and we're just like uh yeah i guess we'll
smoke all the weed.
And, you know, obviously, like that moment after that was done, I passed out.
Yeah, that was fun.
I learned quickly when I went to Amsterdam that coffee shops aren't coffee shops.
They're weed shops.
The cafe is where you get coffee.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I didn't know that.
I know it's a tricky one.
Yeah, but I liked it.
It was I think I mean, I haven't been nearly as many places as you've been,
but I think that is my favorite place so far.
Everyone was so nice.
Where else have you been?
I've been to Paris, London, Switzerland, Italy, Mexico.
That's a good amount of places.
That's about it.
That's a really good amount of places. I think I'm going back to Mexico next week.
Where?
I don't know.
I just want to take...
Tell you.
Maybe.
But now that I'm back from Vegas,
and I just kind of want to...
I haven't been on a vacation in a while.
Me neither.
So I kind of just want to take a trip
and decompress for a few days.
I just got all moved into my new spot.
I can't wait for you guys to come and see it in Marina.
Sick.
Oh, yeah.
You're in Marina Del Rey.
It's so dope.
Yeah.
Well, let's talk about Mexico because maybe we can make this a group trip.
Okay.
Because I need a vacation.
Yeah.
I'm down for Tulum, Playa del Carmen, Cabo.
Yeah.
No, we could totally talk about this later.
Yeah.
No, but I'm just saying, we can do this.
Wait, we should just spend the rest of the time just, like, finding the cheap tickets.
Let's look up some resorts right now, all-inclusive.
Okay, if you could go on tour with any band or person, who would it be at the top of your list?
band or person,
who would it be at the top of your list?
Uh,
childish Gambino,
Drake,
chance,
the rapper.
Nice.
Uh,
21 pilots and outcast.
Ooh,
that'd be fun.
Now,
I don't know if you're able to say this or not yet, i know you had mentioned another tour coming up is that happening can i say keep that shit to yourself okay i won't say anything uh
yeah i mean we got offered a tour that sounds really fun it does no those two bands oh you
oh no you told me who i'm like that's's what I'm like. I won't say who,
if it's still a surprise,
but are you going to be going on tour again?
Soon is my question.
It's still on the table.
Okay.
Yeah.
It's still on the table.
Well,
definitely.
I will be front row for that one with my sister because you're my fave.
And one of the other bands is her fave.
So perfect.
Yes.
Um,
it's a long tour too.
So we'll see.
Yeah.
It's like 50 shows. I almost atlanta to go to one of your
shows i know you did i was like i was so ready to do it but instead i took off one of my vegas
shows to see him in la so sorry to anyone who came to that tuesday night show in vegas because
i wasn't there because i was at prices's. Do you have any crazy tour stories?
You don't have to say with who, but like.
Oh, yeah.
What's the craziest thing that's happened at you since you have gone on tour?
Getting chased by security at this, what was it?
Was it Open Air Festival in Switzerland?
Yeah, we got chased.
I mean, I ran harder and faster than I ever have because, so here's.
Why were you getting chased?
Here's what happened.
It wasn't even that bad.
It was just a misunderstanding between languages, but it just ended badly.
We're at, so the festival that we, that Hoodie had played at, I didn't play, but we were on tour with them.
So we came to Open Air Festival in Switzerland.
It's in the middle of the mountains.
It's beautiful.
What part of Switzerland?
Gampel.
Okay.
My best friend lives in Zug, so I've been to a lot of places in Switzerland, but I haven't been there.
Oh, okay.
Yeah.
Yeah, I mean, it was beautiful.
Just there was a language barrier for us.
So after the cool thing about that festival out there,
I don't know how many festivals are like this in Europe,
but you get to still party after all the bands are done at the festival.
Like they just have all the open events to do and stuff like that.
I know they have it at Coachella, but it's not really the same.
So we were at this bar after Hoodie had gone gone on and obviously a bunch of people had seen him because he had headlines so we're like hey this is kind of sick we go to the bar we try to order
drinks they bring them we're sipping for a second and the bartender comes back and he's like we
don't take card that was like the only thing that he could say in English and we couldn't say anything in Swedish or Swiss.
German.
German.
Is it German that he used to speak?
I know in parts of it.
They do.
Is Swiss a language?
It's just too much too quick.
So that's where we were at.
Yeah, okay.
Got it.
What language are we even here with?
Yeah, right.
And he was getting mad because we were trying to scramble for the little coins that we needed to pay.
And then he decided that this bartender decided to like aim his anger at me specifically and like made kind of a racial slur.
He was just like, he was like, get black ass out of here to the bouncers that were there.
Oh, shit.
Big Hitler youth looking dudes.
Oh, that's scary.
And this was just right after Eric Gardner and all that stuff had happened.
So I was especially sensitive.
And they were like, all right, cool.
Let's just go.
And we start going towards the door.
And the bouncers lead us towards the back and and hoodie's with me and i'm just like oh this is not good
this doesn't feel good i don't understand why they're taking us to a different exit
the moment we step outside i'm like i'm just gonna run and i wish i'd been able to let hoodie
know that yeah i just took off immediately running as fast and hard as i could down this sideline and they
started chasing us they caught hoodie they like tackled him to the ground for no reason this is
all for no reason by the way it's just because we were still trying to figure out our change for our
drink and uh and i made it all the way back to the bus i didn't even like look behind me i was
not courageous at all because i was
just like i didn't want to get killed by a bunch of nazi guys wow i just assumed they were yeah
yeah so uh that was that that's that's pretty crazy everything was all right though yeah well
you're you're here today here we are so you made it out of switzerland a guy did try to fight us
in germany too really because i was adding too many swear words to kissed from
kiss by rose by seal it was like four in the morning in a german like dive bar that has
karaoke like what do you expect who do you expect the clientele to be is that your go-to karaoke
song it is now yeah interesting yeah that's not that's not i would think you as more of like a drake
karaoke guy then no there's literally no fun in that my music is too semi-similar well right
that's why i would just think you yeah yeah but i don't go into karaoke to kill it you know what i
mean like i mean in la everybody goes into karaoke to kill it oh god no yeah actually
one of your friends tiffany she goes in to kill it oh yeah she goes into every karaoke so does
tom sandoval her eyes get watery oh my god why i've never seen anyone take it more seriously
no my friend tom he like tom who tom sandoval uh um aval Ariana's boyfriend
I don't know who any of these people are
One of my friends, he's on my show, I work with him
But whenever we do
Rock and rallies on Monday nights, like karaoke
You would think he's the lead singer
Of a band, because he takes it that seriously
Screaming like
Steven Tyler
When did you first start writing music uh right after i taught my i taught myself guitar
when i was 13 just basic not great and i just used like tabs online to learn songs of bands that i
knew and and i just assumed growing up that like if you wanted like the fun part was
writing the song you know the idea of creating something that wasn't there before it was
irresistible to me so i just started like writing little crummy choruses on this little like eight
track thing that i had um yeah and that was it and then like i knew i wanted to have a band it
was always like i wanted to have a band i wanted to be the singer of a band and then i started one in high school i had a punk
band that was who you were in vegas with was your band yeah so you were the singer did you also play
guitar yeah yeah i played lead well sometimes i played lead and then ryan the the other guy um
he played rhythm and lead too and backup vocals and emma the drummer okay that's
what i was gonna say got married in vegas yeah that's so and and dave the bassist who was with
us yeah that's so fun and that's so cool that you guys are all still friends and you i mean you had
just flown in like from your last show to make it to her bachelorette party yeah that's a good
yeah you can't when you're high school band,
like, dude,
I never had more fun
playing music
than with these guys
that we just would mess around
when we're like
16, 17 year old kids.
And now we're all like
doing our own things
and still friends.
And I'm kind of the only one
that's still doing music a lot.
And they go,
we're all going to Vegas.
Are you in?
You don't say no.
No.
You know what I mean?
You figure it out.
And it was so fun.
We sang all of the songs that we had written in high school.
And a song that I had written with them is how I got into Berkeley in Boston.
No way.
Yeah, it was a song that we had sang for years together that I had written with that band.
So it was all love.
That was really fun.
That's awesome.
Yeah, that was cool.
What's your favorite song that you've written?
I like Glamorama a lot.
I love that one.
Yeah, I like that one a lot. It's very LA.
Yeah, I mean, it was actually about someone that you know
when I started writing it.
Stop it.
Yeah, that and Los Angeles. I wrote at the same time when I started writing it. Stop it. Yeah. That and Los Angeles.
I wrote at the same time when I was super stressed and depressed over a heartbreak that I had.
Yeah, and I wrote both of those songs kind of as like a cynical, in a cynical moment.
Wait, both songs?
Which was the other one?
Oh, Los Angeles.
Los Angeles and Glamorama.
Yeah.
Oh, see, okay, now I'm going to listen to those again with, like, different ears.
Yeah, see if you can figure out what I'm talking about.
I mean, I think I have an idea.
Yeah, well, yeah, that's not fair.
Do you get a lot of your inspiration from experiences?
From real life?
Yeah.
Yeah, almost exclusively.
Yeah.
I try to, like—
Your songs are all very, like, personal.
It sounds like. Yeah. I'm trying to branch out and just like write things just from like, like where I imagine
people listening to them on the beach in Tulum.
And then I try to write that song that I would want to hear if I was like with my chick in
the beach in Tulum.
You know what I mean?
Instead of just like trying to base it on life stuff because life takes its time.
It takes too long to happen.
So I got to write more songs.
Yeah, absolutely.
So, your birthday is coming up next month.
No, don't.
June 16th.
Yeah.
The big three.
Don't, don't.
Zero.
It's okay, but just remember, I'm always going to be three years older than you.
it's okay but just remember I'm always going to be three years older than you
you're a girl
and like that doesn't
you can go to the club and ball out
and people are like respect bitch
you can't be a 30 year old
guy going into the club
and people don't think that's cool
yeah exactly we're in track pants
I can't be the dumb whatever
guy anymore.
I'm a man.
I'm an adult.
I got to pay my bills on time and shit.
Yeah.
You should probably get a business manager to do that for you.
I have a business manager.
Oh, then there you go.
Don't get it twisted.
I got my shit together.
No, I don't.
But it's just a different kind of thing now.
I already realize I go to the bar with my friends sometimes and we
are all on our phones checking our credit score and i'm just like dude you know you're getting
old no i do that too checking your credit karma yeah dude it's addicting and it's
it's like why didn't they show us any of this in high school do you have good credit
yeah i have good credit do you have great credit i mean it's hard to say if i was white i
have excellent credit yeah but i'm not so yeah i'm white-ish wait what's that line in your song
you say um dark white yeah dark white i love that well what is next for mr. Bryce Vine? We're going to Cancun.
Yes.
No.
Wet t-shirt contest.
So Drew Barrymore is out.
That is sweeping the nation.
Radio stations everywhere.
And you said, what was it?
Was it Nebraska that it was like doing like?
Omaha was the first.
Yes.
Yeah, Power 106 in Omaha played it.
Yeah, that's so dope. They took the first. Yes. Yeah, Power 106 in Omaha played it. Yeah, that's so dope. They took the chance.
They took the dip.
And then, yeah, it was like number one most Shazam song in Omaha.
Yeah.
Our show was sold out there.
It was so sick.
That's so cool.
It was really cool.
Well, I'm very proud of you.
I'm happy to be your friend.
Thank you.
I'm happy to be your friend.
You are beyond talented.
Your music is amazing.
You guys can check it out on Spotifyify or you can get it on apple music
like a commoner no i'm just kidding you know but i will be posting his music on my insta story with
swipe up so it makes it easier and i will swipe up to spotify as i've done before for you but
thank you for coming and hanging out i mean we already do already do this. I know, we do. But I know you're busy.
You got shit going on.
I'm busy too, girl.
Slay.
That's true.
But now I'm back.
So we're going to be hanging out more.
You got to come see my place at the beach.
Yeah.
So dope.
I'm so down.
Yes.
You got a pool, though?
I'll show you the pool when we wrap this up.
It is amazing.
Okay.
Yes.
So we're going to go plan our Mexico vacation, and then I have to go work at Sir.
No, you tonight?
No, literally.
Look at what I'm wearing.
Oh, no.
I have my Sir dress under my hoodie.
What's it like to be a television star that has to work a normal job?
What's it like to be a television star that has to work a normal job?
It's kind of more so become like an appearance at the restaurant where we're so busy talking to people and taking photos that we don't work that hard.
Right.
We make less money, but we're making money other places.
Like national television?
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, you know, Instagram and all of Podcast One and all of these other jobs I have.
But I really just like, I mean, for you, like, you know, you love meeting your fans at your shows.
I love meeting my fans at CERB because every single night. You're always really nice to them, too.
Oh, if it wasn't for them, like, we don't have a show.
I don't have a job.
Yeah.
A lot of people forget that, though. Yeah. I don't have a show i don't have a job yeah so i
forget that though yeah i don't though i have i have my mom out there she she keeps me grounded
if i start to act out a little which is very rare because i'm a very humble person but i do i love
going to serve because i love meeting people and people will come from all across the world like
literally people come from australia and it makes their trip just getting a photo with us.
That's crazy.
So, yeah.
So, I'm happy to do that because I love meeting the fans because without them, we can't do what we do.
So.
Amen.
Yeah.
And.
Amen.
But, Bryce, real quick before we go.
But Bryce, real quick, before we go.
Adrift is based on the inspiring true story of two free spirits whose chance encounter leads them to love in the adventure of a lifetime. A story of two sailors, Tammy, played by Shailene Woodley, and Richard, played by Sam Claflin, who set out on a journey across the Pacific.
However, they couldn't anticipate they would be sailing into one of the most catastrophic hurricanes in history.
In the aftermath of the storm, Tammy awakens to find Richard badly injured and their boat in ruins.
With no hope of rescue, Tammy must find the strength and determination to save herself and the man she loves.
Starring Shailene Woodley from Fault in Our Stars and Sam Claflin from Me Before You,
Adrift is an unforgettable story about the resilience of the human spirit and the transcendent power of love.
