Starting point is 00:00:00 Thank you for listening to this podcast one production available on Apple podcasts and podcast one You guys I am so excited it's fall because not only does that mean new fashion But it means new TV time and Hulu has all of the shows. I love to watch like Vanderpump Rules The Voice Grey's Anatomy. This is us. I mean, so many of my bingeable favorites, and Hulu has them all. But as much as I want to watch, like, dramas all day, you know, I also want comedies that make me laugh so hard I literally cry. Like, The Good Place, It's Always Sunny, Family Guy. I mean, Hulu has all of those shows, too,
Starting point is 00:00:41 and I know you guys love watching them as much as I do. And do you know what else Hulu has? Well, it's a really great low price Plans start at $5.99 a month So if you love TV And don't want to miss a moment of the new stuff Go to Hulu.com And start your free trial
Starting point is 00:00:57 And again, Hulu.com, start your free trial Hulu has the TV you love Only $5.99 a month. From Vanderpump Rules to Vegas and everywhere in between, it's time to party with Sheena Shea. This is Shenanigans. And now, here's your host, Sheena Shea. What's up, guys? We are back getting into some Shenanigans with the down and out Beverly Hills. Amazing people. Friends of mine, Paul Atu and Patrik Simpson. How are you guys?
Starting point is 00:01:46 Woohoo! We're great. Amazing. Yes, and of course, the star of the show, Snow White. Yeah, let's not talk about this bitch. Okay, this is literally, you guys, this is the cutest little dog I have ever seen. What does she weigh? About a pound and a half?
Starting point is 00:02:02 No, we weighed her today. She was 2.4. Oh, okay. She's. She was 2.4. Oh, okay. She's going on a diet. Yes. We're going to have to be at 2.2, or that's it. Beverly Hills is not going to be the same. She's not white.
Starting point is 00:02:13 It's okay. Love it. So cute. She had some Japanese Wagyu at Cut. Barbara came over. Wolfgang was there. He was like, you got to have the Japanese Wagyu. She ate the whole thing.
Starting point is 00:02:23 Eight ounces by herself. What? I know. This ate the whole thing. Eight ounces by herself. What? I know. This bitch has an appetite. Wow. Then we had some social media haters that said, how does your dog eat more better than me? Don't you get that? It's crazy, right?
Starting point is 00:02:36 You know, if the dog can eat Wagyu, then hey, let her enjoy it. Why not? If everyone could feed their dog, then I'm sure they would. Of course. All right. So you guys are saying you're fresh back from Vegas. Yes. Okay, tell me about that because obviously we know I love Vegas. You are queen Vegas.
Starting point is 00:02:53 I lived in Vegas. I headlined in Vegas. I was just there twice this past month for festivals. That's just like my second home. So tell me fun things about Vegas. Well, wait, the last time we saw you, you were performing. Oh, yeah. We went to your show.
Starting point is 00:03:08 That was right. Your show. You were hilarious. That was crazy. I was like, oh, my God. And when you got the guy naked, it was like everybody was like waiting for it to happen. We're like, oh, yes. Go, Sheena.
Starting point is 00:03:21 Yay. That show was, I mean, honestly, that was the best experience of my entire life. You said you had so much fun. It was so much fun. I mean, just getting on stage every night with the audience interactive and just making people laugh and just having, I honestly, I mean, other than like working in a restaurant, as an adult, I've never had a regular job. Like, it was like, you know. Really? No, I've never had like a nine to five.
Starting point is 00:03:45 No. When I was 18, I entered at Samick Music Corporation. I was their director of publicity at 18, 19 years old for college. So I did that, but it was only, I think, twice a week. Maybe I would go in from 8 to 5. She had a busy schedule. And I didn't get paid. I mean, it was college credit.
Starting point is 00:04:02 She had a big schedule. I've worked in the restaurant industry since I was 16 years old, and clearly that paid off. It turned into a television show. Good for you. Thank you. Good for you. But in the in-between time where I was just waiting tables before Vanderpump Rules, I was doing a commercial here and there. A guest star on a show, a co-star on a show.
Starting point is 00:04:21 Can I tell you he needs some lessons from you on how to even bring a tray over because he, we had guests at the store. He brings out champagne with champagne goblets. Guess where it all goes? On the floor. All over the floor.
Starting point is 00:04:33 And he couldn't take three freaking steps. I'm like, what's the matter with you? This is not the way we host. Right? I have never worked in the restaurant industry.
Starting point is 00:04:42 We can staff you from Sir and Tom tom for your next event i can get you some cute boys from tom tom they can do the champagne for you okay good yes i like that but yeah i've never had a regular job i realized when i was living in vegas and i was like i loved it because it gave me something every single day to look forward to but to be responsible with i'm a very responsible person don't get me wrong but just that consistency i've never really had in my life as an adult so it was just so fun to just have something i knew i was doing every single night like the shows didn't get canceled you were committed you were gonna be yes i was committed and that that was a
Starting point is 00:05:19 big thing too was you know like i mean yes i'm obviously committed to vanderpump rules i've sold them my soul of course you have but just to do something else that i'm passionate about that was so much fun so i'm hoping i can do the show again it was creative yeah really great that's funny you're that's what i mean it was fun to see you in a different environment. Yeah. Just to see exactly how you, like you're, you're a true, like this beautiful flower, wild flower. I'm like, she really knows how to act. No,
Starting point is 00:05:52 she really does this. Oh my God, this is really cool. Thanks. There's a whole different side of you that was really beautiful to see. Love that. I mean,
Starting point is 00:05:58 everybody knows me from making dresses, right? Yeah. And they give me lines to read and I always flub them because I'm like, I have no idea how to do it. I'm like,
Starting point is 00:06:06 I'm reality. I don't know how to say these lines. Yeah, memorizing a script. Like, that's too much for me. It's so different when there's something and that's what Vanderpump rules too. People, they're like, oh, it's scripted. And I'm like, I don't have a script. Trust me, it's not. Honestly, I wish I did. I wish I
Starting point is 00:06:21 could be like, oh, that scene with Adam and I last year, that was scripted. Can I tell you, when we film our show, Gowning Out in Beverly Hills, like Vanderpump Rules, it's not scripted. Ours is scripted. You tell me what to do and I have to do it or you'll fire my ass. It's not scripted. And people will understand that I think it's harder to do unscripted than it is to do scripted. Hand me a script.
Starting point is 00:06:42 Hand me lines. I'll just read them and do whatever. Tell me what to do. Give me direction. That's so much easier. Yeah, we've got to come up. Hand me a script. Hand me lines. I'll just read them and do whatever. Tell me what to do. Give me direction. That's so much easier. Yeah, we gotta come up with it on our own. All the time.
Starting point is 00:06:49 Like, can you believe that? I have to perform. Yeah. He goes, okay, go ahead. Perform like a little monkey. Good job. Go ahead. So, okay,
Starting point is 00:06:57 what were y'all doing in Vegas? Okay, Vegas, we were sponsors and Paul was the official dress designer for the Miss World America. Amazing Miss World America. That's huge.
Starting point is 00:07:09 I had multiple dresses on them, and I had 102 dresses on all the contestants. The opening number. Yeah, the opening number was the Miss and the Teens. So I had a different version of the gown in a different color for the Teens, and then a more sophisticated version with the emerald hue for the Mrs. And we crowned Miss World America
Starting point is 00:07:32 and she was just at the boutique five minutes ago. That's so cool. Because I'm making her dress that she's going to London with. And it's in London. Oh my god, are you coming? For Miss World. For the Miss World pageant in December. He's making the gown. Number 14.
Starting point is 00:07:46 I know. Isn't that going to be amazing? She's going to be wearing the Pola 2 dress. And then I realized that I have some, I'm going to Singapore tonight. Tonight? Tonight. Yeah, like right now. Oh my gosh.
Starting point is 00:07:57 After we're done here, we hit the lounge. Oh wow. And then go to the fly out. Okay. Well, thank you for being here. When we come back, we're going to go to Indonesia, and when I'm in Indonesia, I'm meeting with the princess of Korea, who has an
Starting point is 00:08:09 entire village. Literally a princess. Literally a princess. Princess Moshi Min. I'm a queen of Beverly Hills. They're just princesses. You know, we have to identify. But she has an entire village on top of Salat Mountain, with 500 people on there that make the thread with their teeth.
Starting point is 00:08:29 It's like this historical thing from the soil. It's beautiful. Wow. It's amazing. Insane. So I'm going to make her gown. Okay. Of course, it's going to be all crystal from head to toe.
Starting point is 00:08:41 Yeah. She's got to be shimmer, shimmer, shimmer. And then I'm going to incorporate some of the Moshi, divine Moshi all over it so that she's able to just flutter like a little butterfly all over the stage. Because she represents all of America now. So we were judges.
Starting point is 00:08:55 I judged the teen. He judged the missus. I'm more qualified for the missus. With LaToya Jackson. That was pretty crazy with LaToya Jackson. Oh my god, my best friend, LaToya. Love her. She touched pretty crazy with Latoya Jackson. Oh, my God. My best friend, Latoya. That's amazing. Love her. She touched my knee.
Starting point is 00:09:09 I loved it. Twice. Can I say that? Oh, my God. That's amazing. And Vanessa Ponce de Leon, the current Miss World, was a judge. Sweetheart. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:21 Victoria. Victoria Mendoza. She was Miss World 2015. 2015. Miss World America 2015. Miss World America 2015. Yeah. Victoria. Victoria Mendoza. She was Miss World 2015. 2015. Miss World America 2015. Miss World America 2015. Awesome. Then I had top five.
Starting point is 00:09:31 Then Cherie, one of our favorites, was actually like everyone's favorite. She won the Entrepreneur Challenge. She won the Social Media Challenge. She won the Beauty with a purpose challenge. What does a social media challenge entail? So they give them a certain time period and each girl has to post, get comments, get shares, get
Starting point is 00:09:53 likes, and they total, they do it in such a popularity contest. I would lose. But they have to include creatively the judges or the Miss World pageant in such a beautiful way to be able to express a different version of them that you're going to be able to get to see so you can identify with their personality. That's what you're voting for. She won that as well.
Starting point is 00:10:17 She won everything. But let me tell you, so much drama. After the opening number act, she passes out. She gets rushed to the emergency room. She comes out and she goes, my name is Cherie Sani and I represent the beautiful state of Washington. She goes to the back.
Starting point is 00:10:34 She goes to the back to change into her gown. The evening gown that he created. And then that's it. She goes on a stretcher to the emergency room. Was she just being dramatic? No. This girl has a pacemaker. And then that's it. She goes down a stretcher to the emergency room. Was she just being dramatic? No. No. She was like, this woman, this girl has a pacemaker.
Starting point is 00:10:48 Oh, wow. She was in a car accident. Her face was burned and reconstructed. She's beautiful. Beautiful. And inside and out. Yeah. And it's amazing.
Starting point is 00:10:59 We felt so bad. It was awful. Because here they're calling her name out. She's getting all these trophies. Oh, my gosh. But she's not even there. Right. And they can't crown if you're not there. Is this a live event?
Starting point is 00:11:09 Like, was it being televised? Yes. Live for TV. But the girl that did win, Emi Cuvillier, adorable, beautiful. Like, we all love her as well. I mean, they all deserve their crown. I gotta tell you, the work that they have to put into this. I'm like, bitches, I brought my own crown.
Starting point is 00:11:26 Somebody put it on my head. I feel like with like pageants and stuff, people think like, oh, like modeling. It's like, oh, it's so easy. Oh, you just stand there and look pretty. But it's like there's I mean, I did pageants as a kid. But I mean, as an adult, like there's so much that goes into it. Did this one have like a talent component as well? Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:43 Oh, what was the winner's talent? The winner's talent, she actually has a company that she goes out like a Little Mermaid sort of a thing or a Disney character. And she hosts children
Starting point is 00:11:55 at the hospitals or in need or in crises with a Disney theme event. The princess. She created her own princess chair. Yeah. Which is amazing.
Starting point is 00:12:04 That's amazing. And Cherie actually, her beauty of the purpose uh with the purpose was the fact that she has a pacemaker gotcha she wants children that are in the school system at a young age to be able there's this um what do you call it uh like a test that they do yeah so that you can find out if your heart has issues or whatever. At a young age. Right. Apparently, they don't do that unless you're either having a heart attack or something happens to you.
Starting point is 00:12:32 Yeah. Right. And she wants to instill something where they can go around. And just like they do a blood draw. Oh, I love that. They can have a little test. And it's a very simple thing. But you're able to identify if there's something wrong with the heart that you can address
Starting point is 00:12:44 at a young age so that they don't have to grow up with it making an issue for them. But the thing about this whole system, the Miss World America and the Miss World system is that Julia Morley created this and it's beauty with a purpose. That's what I was going to say. So it's more like a charitable purpose than a talent.
Starting point is 00:13:00 You're not having singing and dancing and all that. You're actually doing something for the world. It's so much better. They're beautiful and they're actually doing something for the world. You have that, but they have a charity and they're beautiful and they're actually doing something. And I mean, that is a talent in its own. It's a business talent. Just like, shout out to the Kardashians. They may not sing or dance, but they are talented women.
Starting point is 00:13:20 I mean, they've changed the world. They are doing things for the world. Kim's literally becoming a lawyer right now. Isn't that great? Just so she can help pardon people and do all these amazing things. I hate when people talk shit about them and say, oh, they're not talented. It's like, well, because they don't sing and dance?
Starting point is 00:13:33 What makes that so much better? But talent comes in so many different ways and forms and shapes and sizes these days. I think people should be a lot more receptive to anybody who's able to translate and make something that they're happy about doing, waking up every morning. Yeah. I love going to the store, being at the store for 27 years, creating gowns.
Starting point is 00:13:54 We had dresses at the Emmys. Yeah. For a second, they were talking about the grocery store. Grocery shopping every morning. Oh, my God. No. No. Like Asante Black. I made Asante. You know all the bow ties that I wear. Oh my god, no. No. Like Asante Black.
Starting point is 00:14:06 I made Asante. You know all the bow ties that I wear. He makes all the bow ties. Amazing. So I made him a bow tie. I made his mom a dress and they were like
Starting point is 00:14:14 the red carpet queens and kings for the day. Yeah. The kids from This Is Us. Parker was wearing a bow tie. That was one of the things that I was going to mention was I met young Kate
Starting point is 00:14:23 at your Christmas event a couple of years ago. Mackenzie! Mackenzie! Isn't she amazing? So, that show is incredible. I mean, it could go on literally forever because it's like they had the past and the present, but now they have the future. And it's like, wait, what?
Starting point is 00:14:39 Plot twist after plot twist. It's almost like we're growing up. If you guys don't watch this, it's us. You need to. No, no, no, we do. Oh. It's crazy because, you know, the boy that we did the bow tie for, Asante Black, who was on When They See Us, the Oprah Winfrey series?
Starting point is 00:14:52 Yeah. He's now on This Is Us. Yeah. So it's like we've done all the kids. Okay. It's your friend George Tillman. Yeah. He actually directs that one while he also does The Hate U Give, the movie that he just
Starting point is 00:15:03 did. So George, he was at my fashion show. Oh, my gosh, Sheena, you missed it. Oh, my God. Wait, what? Can I tell you? You were traveling. You sent me a message that you couldn't make it.
Starting point is 00:15:12 I'm always traveling. I'm sorry. That was the fashion show he got beat up at. Okay, I do want to talk about that. I didn't want to start with that, but obviously that's a huge thing that I want to address. Sure. So I was watching a clip from the news last night. I had seen it a few weeks ago when it happened.
Starting point is 00:15:28 My mom sent it to me and I was like, oh, my God, I literally just saw this. So you didn't pick this person's kid to be in the fashion show? Is that how it started? No, we were never looking for a kid. We were looking for adults. I don't make any children's clothes. And I did start a new collection, Ava by Paulaa 2, which is Ava Cochler's line from Sydney to the Max.
Starting point is 00:15:47 She's a Disney star from Sydney to the Max. So we're co-branding a line with her. So I'm doing all these lines. Adorable t-shirts, by the way. I have to send you one.
Starting point is 00:15:55 Oh my God, you're going to love it. Love it. You're going to love it. So I did her line and so she got to pick all the models. Of course,
Starting point is 00:16:03 we had a lot of influence on it, but I think we encouraged that her friends come and participate and help her. So we had kids from all the different Disney stars. Well, all her friends are like on HBO and Disney and Nickelodeon. Right. They're all her friends. So put them all together. We had over 15 million in influence on Instagram.
Starting point is 00:16:21 And they were there to support her collection. They were having such a great time. you know, on Instagram. And then we're there to support her collection. And they were having such a great time. So this one person brings, represents himself as a manager, brings a random person to interview with us at our boutique for, to do the jeans line.
Starting point is 00:16:40 And I'm like, I don't really like this guy. Nobody liked this guy. At the casting, we did nobody like this guy. Matter of fact he after he uh the guy walked the model that he was there with he asked oh can his daughter walk and how do you say no to a nine-year-old we're like but we're not even interviewing for a nine-year-old right there's like 300 models they're all male and female adults yeah so we were nice we let her walk we're not picking we didn't pick we said okay we We let her walk. We're not picking. We didn't pick. We said, okay, we'll let you know
Starting point is 00:17:05 if we choose her. Yeah. And then he hangs around for like an hour or so. And you know, we were taping our show. So part of it was getting the footage
Starting point is 00:17:14 on camera. Right. So this guy, we have his name, you know, because he had to sign a release. Right. So we have his name,
Starting point is 00:17:21 his address, and all the information. And then so he comes back again the next weekend, brings a kid again. Well, we did another casting. He comes back again. I don't need a kid. And I said, this guy has to go. But we did get one of the other men that he had brought that he didn't know.
Starting point is 00:17:39 So he brought another guy. So we put him in the show. And the day of the show, he shows up. Again with this kid. The organizers tell him to leave. He doesn another guy. So we put him in the show. And the day of the show, he shows up. Again, with this kid. The organizers tell him to leave. He doesn't leave. Or he says he leaves, but he hides. So I come out of the VIP room.
Starting point is 00:17:54 The show has already started. There's over 500 people at the show. Over 270. You know our events. There's like a million and a half people. We don't even know who's there, right? Of course, yeah. So Paul walks out of the VIP room. And this guy just starts punching him like a punching bag
Starting point is 00:18:07 can i cuss or no yeah you can say whatever the fuck you want on this show oh i like this show great fuck i didn't know i could do that okay well that deserves that deserves multiple of that one so a guy comes out and starts punching him and saying, fucking faggot, fucking faggot. Oh, my God. So obviously he didn't like gay people. Yeah. It goes deeper than everything. Yeah, that's such a hate crime.
Starting point is 00:18:31 I mean, the fact that I had Snow White on my right hand. You know, I always have Snow White. So I'm holding Snow White. Oh, I just got chills. Camera people, security, everybody's on the floor. They're watching the show. They're videotaping. They're getting all the clips that they need.
Starting point is 00:18:46 I'm in the back waiting to be able to get on stage. There's 20 models lined up waiting to go. They all saw it. Everybody saw everything. I was so afraid for the kids because the kids were ready to be able to go on next. They got to witness me being beaten up and I thought, oh my God, this is like them
Starting point is 00:19:01 scarred them forever. I hate this. I didn't even know because he came from behind and started, the force that he was using and the intensity and the rage almost that he had, it startled me. I couldn't even fight him off.
Starting point is 00:19:18 My shoulder's been broken for three months. Oh my God. So I couldn't even defend myself whatsoever. Now it's kind of like re-injured. He has a severe concussion. They diagnosed him with a concussion, which I guess lasts forever. I didn't know that. They've done all these brain scans.
Starting point is 00:19:34 Yesterday they sent me to an emergency MRI. They're like, I don't care. They put me in the car. They drove me there because they said, if we rely on you, you're not going to go. But you know us. We just do. We're living our life and we're trying to do what we do and be happy doing it, right?
Starting point is 00:19:47 We're not hurting anything. You're like on Instagram and you've got to keep smiling and go to the red card. You've got to go to the events. You've got to do all that stuff. So now, they found him. I saw the security footage of him running through the parking lot.
Starting point is 00:20:02 I have restraining order against him. We have a court date set and I talked to I have security footage of him running through the parking lot. Yeah. I have restraining order against him. Yep. We have a court date set. And I talked to the detective. And at first, they weren't really paying attention because they wanted to build a case. And it's been like three weeks now. And she said that it's definitely a felony. And that she's going to be able to take it to the DA and put this guy away for a long time.
Starting point is 00:20:23 Now, does this guy have kids or he was just bringing kids to the show? No, he has the daughter. That's his daughter, they say. We think that's the kid. Why as like a father would you do something like that? I don't know. You know the craziest thing, Sheena, is after the story came on the news, I had at least five girls sending me direct messages saying he assaulted them.
Starting point is 00:20:42 One girl said that he was was trying to grind up against her during a photo shoot. They all think he's a creep. So this guy is not a nice person and needs to be put away. I mean, what saddens me more than anything, I feel like now I'm reliving it for a minute because it's just so hard to know at my age that somebody has this much rage and they don't even know who I am.
Starting point is 00:21:06 Yeah. Like they don't know me. They don't know how I am. They don't know the charity work that I do. They don't know the work that I, nothing. Or I'm just a random human being existing. Why would you want to do damage to somebody who doesn't even know you, has no communication, has nothing to do with you? Yeah. And then you want to nothing to do with you. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:26 And then you want to come at me with so much rage. If our friend wasn't there at the moment to pick him up. He'd be dead. He would be dead. Yeah. Because I saw him when I was running towards Paul,
Starting point is 00:21:36 there was this giant pew blocking the courtyard so I couldn't get to him. Uh-huh. But I literally saw him punched at least 10, 15 times in the head, like a punching bag,
Starting point is 00:21:44 both hands. It wasn't a fight. Yeah. It wasn't a fight. It wasn't a fight. I mean, I'm embarrassed to say that I just crawled up into a ball and I tried to hide underneath the pew so I could get out of it. Yeah, but you were protecting Snow White. You would have punched Snow White and killed her. Oh, my God. I don't even want to think about it.
Starting point is 00:21:59 It's so bad. Between his knees, his feet. When I was on the floor, he was like stomping, kicking, like everything. It was crazy. I'm so swollen. Yeah. I mean, you look amazing. But I know you had the bruising and all of that, but you have healed well.
Starting point is 00:22:18 I'm just saying your face looks beautiful. I'm working on it. You know the crazy thing now is now we have security with us when we go into a public event. We never had security before. There's bodyguard right there. Hell yeah. What's up? We never had that before.
Starting point is 00:22:31 I never thought we needed that before. Right. But I mean now, I mean – You just don't know what people are going to do. You never know. And that's one thing I just – I don't understand like in my line of work where, I mean, granted, thankfully it hasn't been a physical assault to that extent. Like, I've had my ass grabbed. I've had my face licked.
Starting point is 00:22:47 I've been shoved a little bit, like, at Sir. Like, people get a little too touchy, but nothing ever that bad. But the words people say to me online, I'm like, you literally are a stranger. I am someone just on a TV show who you see a couple minutes of a week. Right. And, like, the things that they say to me, I'm just like, what happened to you as a child
Starting point is 00:23:06 that's making you react this way to someone who you don't know? I know. You know, it's interesting you say that because you know, Anna Nicole Smith was our best friend.
Starting point is 00:23:15 Right. She's buried in Paul's gown, actually. Really? She is. And in her coffin is a picture with all of us together
Starting point is 00:23:23 buried with her. You know, we started on her show. Yeah, that was the first reality show that ever was out and we were on it. Oh, my God, I remember that so long ago. I think the one thing that she taught me more than anything else is you can't listen to the outside noise. And you have to know who your true friends are and conduct yourself in the way that you would live anyway. And as long as we're able to touch somebody in a good way, like on our show, I always want to leave somebody with an ending knowing that
Starting point is 00:23:51 I care about them. I want to be able to have them have a happier day. Watching me should be an exciting celebration instead of like, you know, a dramatic experience where they have to relive bad memories or at least an escape for them to be able to know, you know what dramatic experience where they have to relive bad memories or at least an escape right for them to be able to know you know what i could do it too it's fun oh my god look at them that was like but i also love how we always at the end of every episode we do like a fun reveal yeah we get to you know they get to see them on the red carpet or see them wearing the gown and and it's fun it's like like Patrick Adarbo falling down on the red carpet on the dress
Starting point is 00:24:25 and having to go to the emergency room getting a cast and coming back to the event and then winning the Emmy and then winning the Emmy in his gown. It's like,
Starting point is 00:24:33 I mean, you can't beat that stuff. It's like crazy, right? But it's fun. It's fun. I just don't like the fact that the people that see us
Starting point is 00:24:43 sometimes want to turn it into something negative. And I don't know if that's envy or jealousy, but I'm like, let's enjoy this one. It's got to be, because I remember when Anna used to just cry when she would look at the internet of all the trash that people talked about her. Yeah, it was just people wishing they were in her shoes, people wishing they were the one on TV,
Starting point is 00:25:01 they were the famous one. It's not easy work. You know what it's like. No, I know. How many hours do you have to take? 24 hours. Yeah, and it's not for everyone. You have to have really thick skin to be in this industry.
Starting point is 00:25:11 So I feel like so many people look at it, and it's like, well, and I could use myself, honestly, as an example. Back when The Hills was on, like 07, 08, my best friend Stacey and roommate at the time, she got a part on the show. And it kind of ruined our friendship for a little
Starting point is 00:25:26 bit because I was very bitter about it. And I'm like, but you're not the one who wants to be on TV. Why wouldn't I be on the show? You know? And it was like, I'm 21, 22 years old,
Starting point is 00:25:35 but it was just like, I had that mindset, but I mean, I would never go and say the things that people say to me, but you know, it's like, I was, I was jealous.
Starting point is 00:25:43 I was envious. But you respected the friendship. Yeah. And she put me on a couple episodes and you know it was great but it was like so i'm like i can empathize to a small extent of people having that feeling of envy and just like but this should be me i should do this it's like okay if it should be then do something about it right then make it happen don't take down people already doing it who've worked really hard but you know what like One thing about us, and even I know this with you, we're nice to everybody. Everybody. We're at a public event.
Starting point is 00:26:10 We talk to everybody. We're nice to everybody. Or somebody knows us and comes to me and goes, oh my God, you know we're friends with so-and-so. I'm like, oh, okay. Welcome to the club. And I don't think people that are the internet trolls or whatever that make the nasty comments or whatever, they don't understand.
Starting point is 00:26:25 It's not easy to do this, what we do. Well, you guys have an open set like we do. So every time we're going to be taping, you know we do it at the store. Yeah. So the door is open. We have the celebrities. We post it on Canada Night in Beverly Hills so that they're able to, a bunch of fans, their fans actually are able to come to the store, hang outside, and see the fan, like their star there that they follow.
Starting point is 00:26:51 They come out, they sign autographs, they enjoy the moment. Oh, look, she's going. I know, she was doing the cutest faces. Are you going, Auntie Sheena? Hi. Where are you going? Where are you going?
Starting point is 00:27:02 So adorable. She wants her own microphone and headset. Come here, I'm going to hold you in front of the microphone there you are I love it what do you have to say woof woof
Starting point is 00:27:09 woof woof you know she was the only dog at the Emmys this year wait really oh you gotta see pictures okay so the Emmys were how soon
Starting point is 00:27:20 after you were attacked one week a week and you still went we had to we had our tickets we had the governor's week. And you still went. We had to. Yeah. We had our tickets. We had the governor's ball tickets.
Starting point is 00:27:28 And people are like, why are you going to the M? I'm like, we have to. It's our job. Okay. So Christine Devine, you know Christine Devine, right? Right. From the news. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:35 All the newscasters, half of them know us. Even Kevin. When you're in this kind of a situation, you know that you got to keep up certain appearances or at least commitments and know that you got to keep up certain appearances or at least commitments and responsibilities that you have. When you're in the business, you cannot take a minute off just because you're sick.
Starting point is 00:27:54 Those commitments that we make, you have to follow through. Yeah, we don't get to call in sick to our job. You just have to show up sick. Exactly. Your job is that. And you got to throw makeup on or do your hair. Totally. Look fabulous because everyone. And you've got to throw makeup on or do your hair.
Starting point is 00:28:06 Totally. Look fabulous because everyone's watching you. Henry Winkler actually said I looked really polished. Polished. Get it? Pun intended. He's funny. And then Sharon Osbourne, when she's touched, she's like, oh, my God, come here.
Starting point is 00:28:20 Come here, Paul. Oh, Snow White. Snow White, hold on. And it's funny because when we first got Snow White Snow White was only a week old Sharon held her
Starting point is 00:28:29 and loved her and it was so we got to see her again well Sharon knew her dad too yeah Snow Flakes you know she's like aww
Starting point is 00:28:36 and then of course Betty White wants to kidnap Snow White every time she sees him she hasn't seen him for a while but she's like oh my god
Starting point is 00:28:41 I gotta put some in her boob she's just like oh I can just carry her out, but she's like, oh, my God, I got to put some in her boob. She's just like, oh, I could just carry her out. No problem. She's tiny enough. So how long have you been designing gowns? And also, how long have you all been together?
Starting point is 00:28:55 72 hours, bitch. You see my ring? It's only 72 hours worth. You've only been designing gowns for 72 hours? No, that's being with you. see my ring? It's only 72 hours worth. You've only been designing gowns for 72 hours? No! That's being with you. Or how many hours can I put up with him at a time? It's 72 hours.
Starting point is 00:29:13 We keep it fresh. Yeah, love that. 16 years this year. Wow. Congratulations. I know, isn't that great? We haven't gotten married yet, but we're going to get married next year. And you know what's interesting? I love him every day more and more and respect him even more every time. It's a crazy feeling. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:30 And I beg him not to divorce me every single day. Because I'm like, who else would want me? Please do not let me go. Who wants to date? The dating scene does not look fun at all. You guys, tell me about it, okay? I, like, just started. Like, I mean, I've been single for the last two years.
Starting point is 00:29:48 But I did just start having an interest in just this one person. But I'm like, it's just, it's scary. I've been single for so long that I don't know how to not be single. So I'm like, okay, wait, if we're going to do it, then I'm like, hold on, hold on. It's just, yeah, it's kind of been overwhelming. But also, I'm like, I'm not going to pass up something amazing in front of my face just because i feel like oh maybe i'm not ready maybe i need more time like it's not i'm like i'm 34 years old i'm divorced i know i don't want to be alone forever but you know what it's not
Starting point is 00:30:17 even that i think your body will just direct you it'll just tell you. And it has been. And I'm like, stop it. It's directing me to Australia. And I'm like, the flight is booked, you guys. We're not going to miss you because we'll be right behind you. We'll be on the same flight coming to visit you for sure. How long are you going to be in Singapore for? A week. A week. I'll be at the spa at the Fairmont.
Starting point is 00:30:42 I'll be hanging out, getting my massages. One of my clients is like, could you bring me my hat? I'm like, what do you mean? You're supposed to come pick it up. She's on the same flight. She's on our same flight. She's going to Singapore, and I have to carry her freaking suitcase. Really?
Starting point is 00:30:58 I'm like, bitch, that stops in Beverly Hills at the door. But then we come home from Singapore. We're only here for three days. We're going to be filming a little bit for our show. Then we turn around and we go to Indonesia to shoot the documentary. Amazing. Oh, the Moshi, yes.
Starting point is 00:31:13 We're shooting a documentary on the Moshi fabric. Okay. At the mountains, at the Salat Mountain. Wait, tell me, I don't know what that is. That's the raw silk, the organic silk, the Moshi, the divine Moshi. Okay, so this fabric is used, the divine moshi. So we're going to fill it. This fabric is used by the Japanese royal family.
Starting point is 00:31:29 Yeah. Wow. Our friend, the princess, the Korean princess, she's the one that harvests it and makes it with her village up in the Salat Mountains. So we're going to this private retreat in the middle of the mountains of Indonesia. Hold on. I got to tell her how it's done, though. Hold on.
Starting point is 00:31:44 How cool. So if you watch episode five of our show, I think, you will see how I describe where we land in Jakarta, Indonesia. We take a helicopter with military to fly to the Salat Mountains. Then only in a Rolls Royce, I think a white one, are you allowed to be able to get to the gates up there. Wait, seriously? Yes. That's the way it is.
Starting point is 00:32:06 That's the way we roll. When the fabric is put together, they actually put only the fabric with military in the car to drive all the way to take the helicopter back to the plane and then it gets delivered to my door. Wow. And Paul is the only designer,
Starting point is 00:32:22 fashion designer in the world, that uses the Moshi Min fabric. That's insane. I know. It's crazy. But, oh, my God. I'm going to make you something with it. Yes.
Starting point is 00:32:30 It's like the texture is so beautiful. Okay. Yes. We need to make me again. Let's think. Okay. What should the occasion be? Because, see, our premiere parties aren't like a huge deal.
Starting point is 00:32:40 You know, that's not like a big red carpet thing. Wait. People's Choice Award. Wasn't Vanderpump nominated? No. We are. It's in a couple weeks so so what it's on there's stuff in the boutique come we'll put you in something okay because that's a that's a gown for people's choice award definitely i want something that's not like ball gown that's kind of like edgy sexy last year i'm like i i, it was one of my favorite red carpet looks that I've done.
Starting point is 00:33:07 I did a satin red jumpsuit, but it was like very fitted, low cut. It was just like, it was awesome. And I'm like, okay, I got to top that. But it was one of my favorite outfits. I've got scissors that can recreate anything. Okay. And then after that,
Starting point is 00:33:23 so then when is the People's Choice Awards? That's November 10th. Okay, good. So then after we get back from when is the People's Choice Awards? That's November 10th. Okay, good. So then after we get back from Indonesia, we're here for one day. Okay. Then we go to Dubai. Oh, my gosh. For 10 days.
Starting point is 00:33:33 When are you going to have time to do this? Don't worry. It's for 10 days. I'm going to go to the store right now on the way to the airport and do one. For the Miss Europe Continental. We're sponsors for that. 10 gowns for that. I think they now want us to do the opening number gown
Starting point is 00:33:48 because they saw Miss World America. Well, I'm so glad you guys were able to be here with all of your travels. Thank you. Of course. We love you. We've been saying forever we've got to come. I know.
Starting point is 00:33:59 If I knew I would have brought some fabric, I would have used this time to be able to sew your dress already. Right? Oh, my God. I didn't even think about it because I'm literally used to be able to sew your dress already. Right? Oh, my God. I didn't even think about it because I'm literally going to be in Australia for the 10 days. I get back, like, the day of the awards. Are you back between the 20th? Are you here between the 24th and the 26th of October?
Starting point is 00:34:17 Yes, I am. Like, next week. Yeah. Then come into the boutique next week. Okay. And then we'll find something. Okay. We'll fix something.
Starting point is 00:34:22 I got scissors. I can chop it up and recreate it. All right. What are your favorite colors? You know, I think I might want to do black for this. Or if I do a color, I want it to be like a bright, like a teal. I was just thinking he's got this beautiful blue Moshi Min fabric that would look amazing on her. That could be pretty.
Starting point is 00:34:38 Either that or the black top with the beads all over it. Oh, that too. It could be a corset top with tight pants with the little. I like that. And then it could be. I know what I'm going to do. Oh, that's true. It could be a corset top with tight pants with a little... I like that. And then it could be... I know what I'm going to make you! Oh, my God. I died.
Starting point is 00:34:49 I died. I totally know what I'm going to make you. I'm going to make you that bustier top with a little short peplum in the front and a long tail in the back
Starting point is 00:34:55 so you can wear, like, tight, tight, tight pants underneath it with stiletto. There you go. People's Choice Awards, your set. Love that.
Starting point is 00:35:02 Done. You know, I did Brett Butler. I've done some of the people for I used to dress people for Sybil the Sybil short you're too young
Starting point is 00:35:09 no but I've heard of it I've never seen it but I've heard of it I'm 34 I'm not as young as people give her some names like Bella Thorne Ariel Winter
Starting point is 00:35:17 like younger names but see that's even more like my sister's generation I'm right in between split the difference. Kat Graham. Christina Milian. Christina, I need to text her
Starting point is 00:35:32 and get her in here. We've been talking about her on my podcast too. She's amazing. She's such a sweetheart. She's never home. I swear to God, every time we're talking to each other she's like, oh, I'm on the beach here. I'm like, when did you come? When did you go? Wait a minute, I talked to you 12 hours time we're talking to each other, she's like, oh, I'm on the beach here. I'm on the beach. I'm like, when did you come? When did you go?
Starting point is 00:35:46 Wait a minute. I talked to you 12 hours ago. Right. We just redirected. Yeah. It's just, it's fun. It's really, really great. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:53 And I'm so happy for you. Thank you. All the stuff that you're doing. I mean, that's like cool, right? Thanks. Like, it's not just Vanderpump. Are you guys doing another season of Vanderpump? We filmed it this summer.
Starting point is 00:36:03 Yeah. So that'll be out in the next couple of months. Okay, cool. Let the shenanigans begin. Who's pulling who out? There's a lot of new people I saw. There are a lot of new people working at Sir this year. I'll say that.
Starting point is 00:36:19 Save the rest for a couple months from now. Janet's on it, right? I saw Janet was on the show. I'm like, what? Janet's always around. Whether we're filming or not, Janet is always around. I love her. She's not here today because she got like 17 new jobs. But, yes. Welcome to Hollywood.
Starting point is 00:36:34 I know. You got to have 25 just to survive. I'm like, girl, you've had the last year of luxury being able to not work and travel the world with me. So, you know. That's awesome. But I wanted to ask you who are I don't want to say like favorite and least favorite, but who are some of your favorite people you've designed gowns for? And like, what are some of your favorite designs? You know, doing Miss World
Starting point is 00:36:55 was an exciting challenge, because they have, it's a whole different gamut of people. They're not celebrities. So they're celebrating their own right in a different category for charity. Yeah. And they're young and powerful and affluent. And it's like a new generation of girls that are empowering other generations, which is beautiful. Yeah. I love that. And then all the celebrities that I dress, are you kidding me? From one to the other, they're all my buddies.
Starting point is 00:37:22 Yeah. I mean, we hang out. Betty White's my all-time favorite. I mean, how could you not want to dress Betty White? I want to meet her so bad. Every Wednesday, he's got a standing phone call with Betty. 90 years old, he gives her a slit all the way up. Yes, Betty, get it.
Starting point is 00:37:39 And I think just because she's such an icon. I mean, how could that not be my most favorite? I mean, between Sharon's part of American history, I've done the young kids, the This Is Us kids for all different events. I was on the cover of People and Daily Mail and with all the gowns that I've made. I love Daily Mail. Shout out to them. They're always very nice to me.
Starting point is 00:38:02 They're great because they appreciate the creativity. They appreciate the positivity. They highlight things not in a negative way. And they know what we go through and the struggles that we have every single day just to get up to be able to do our work. We have regular jobs. Yeah. People, we work. We have a regular job.
Starting point is 00:38:19 I think my all-time favorite gown he ever did is for Anna Nicole Smith. It was a blue Italian lycra. He made it out of bathing suit material, and it landed her VH1 to Best of All. Yeah. Ooh, I got to Google that. And he made a heart in the bust. I made a heart with all the beads. That's so beautiful.
Starting point is 00:38:41 You know, he likes that because this is Anna. Oh, Paul, I'm not going to go to the event. I'm like, Anna, but it's going to be fun. Oh, no. I'll think about it. Paul, I need a dress. Oh, for what, honey? In two hours. I'm going to the event.
Starting point is 00:38:56 You made the dress in two hours. It's in the book. Don't you have our book? That's insane. We gave you a copy of our book, right? You have our book, I think. Oh, shit. If not? Because I don't think that's on my bookshelf. Okay, we're allowed to say you didn't bring one.
Starting point is 00:39:11 We're allowed to say fuck. So when you come next week, you're getting a book. Done. I'll bring you a book because it's in the book. Yeah. But I mean, every single one of them have been just amazing. Yeah. Being part of American history, it takes you to a different level
Starting point is 00:39:25 because my gown travels in the First Lady Museum across the country. So that's exciting. Yeah. Having the store at Rodeo for like 25,
Starting point is 00:39:33 27 years now is exciting because people just know and they come in all the time. That's incredible. I did not realize it had been that long.
Starting point is 00:39:39 Same location. Same phone number. You were in diapers. No, I was not. I was already walking and talking. Dating. You were in diapers. No, I was not. I was already walking and talking. Dating. You were starting your first date. 27 years ago.
Starting point is 00:39:52 Yeah. I was like skipping third grade 27 years ago. Oh, my God. Just doing everybody that I do and that come in that appreciate the art that I create that have kept me in business, that have kept me in the magazines, that have kept me flourishing with the creativity and doing new things. Because you know I manufacture. Right. So the manufacturing aspect of it, we do different price points.
Starting point is 00:40:16 And we sell across the country. Now we're going to be on T-Mall. We're opening up a store in Washington. We're opening up another store in Singapore. And we started doing men's lines. So now we're doing Mustang jeans, like the jeans I'm wearing. They're really, really...
Starting point is 00:40:30 Wait, did you see his crotch? You got to check out his crotch. No, look, look. Aren't these cute? Oh, I love that. Yeah. It kind of reminds me of like the True Religion jeans back in the day with the stitching,
Starting point is 00:40:43 but like way cooler. Well, this is like the equestrian. Well, I loved writing when I was a kid, so he's like, okay, I'm going to do something. I love that. Don't take it into a different place
Starting point is 00:40:51 when he says he likes writing. Well, so do I. This is not that kind of a show. Well, actually, I can say that. I do. It is that kind of show. Shenanigans with Sheena Shea.
Starting point is 00:41:03 Oh, my God. Sex is one of the main topics on this show. Wait, really? I'll get one for your boyfriend. You can touch my own man. Not my boyfriend. Yo-yo. Let's chill on that.
Starting point is 00:41:15 She didn't say that yet. Okay, so the guy you're dating. The guy I'm hanging out with. Hanging out with. But he's in Australia? For a rugby game this weekend. He plays rugby? What? You're kidding. But he's in Australia? For a rugby game this weekend. He plays rugby?
Starting point is 00:41:26 You're kidding. You know that I and my producing partner, Sarah Silicula, we created a show about the Fiji 7 rugby. Really? It's a Samoa team. Yes. Called the Flying 7s. Oh, crazy. Where we're going to follow the teams in rugby. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:41 Because nobody knows what the fuck rugby is. I don't either. So we're going to bring it to America. Oh, he's got it. Is it football? Is it soccer? Is it fighting? I don what the fuck rugby is. I don't either. We're going to bring it to America. Football? Is it soccer? Is it fighting? I don't know what it is. It's all of the above and the men are fucking hot. That's all I know. Oh, I know. They've got stellar legs for sure.
Starting point is 00:41:56 Oh, he literally so we were at Caboo, this music festival last month in San Diego. That's where I met him. And we did a little challenge with him. We're like, oh, I bet you can't do the dirty dancing move. And he's like, come on, run into me. So I run and he picks me up all the
Starting point is 00:42:12 way up. I'm like fully horizontal, turns me around. I was like, okay, that was so hot. And right as he's like pulling me down, he kissed me. And that was like our first kiss. And I was like, get away from me. Never speak to me again. This is too good. But yeah, we'll see. That's how we met.
Starting point is 00:42:27 I'm not optimistic about a lot of things. We met 16 years ago in New York. I just put an end to the bullshit. Because he kept staring at me all night at this event. I wasn't staring at you. You were just eyeing me down. I was busy doing interviews for my new collection. Excuse me.
Starting point is 00:42:42 So I just grabbed him. I was working. I just grabbed him, pulled him in the I was working. I just grabbed him, pulled him in the bathroom, gave him a kiss, and we've been together ever since. I love that. It was like, no bullshit.
Starting point is 00:42:50 Let's just get on with it. But let me tell you how the kiss was. First, he grabs me, because, Camille, I want to show you. He just pushes me against the wall, closes the door with his foot. Oh, yeah. I mean, he knows what he wants.
Starting point is 00:43:03 Towers over me. And I'm looking up at his big, beautiful blue eyes. And I'm going, oh, my God. And then he just lays a kiss. And it was like the most passionate long kiss ever. And I'm like, I don't know what you did to me, but I liked it. And here he is today. See, and I know that feeling.
Starting point is 00:43:20 So I'm like, you know, I'm trying to stay pleasantly optimistic. But that's a good thing. But not getting my hopes up because everyone disappoints me. Okay, wait a minute. So if I give you the pair of pants, and at least if he models for you, if you don't stay together, you're more than welcome
Starting point is 00:43:35 to take it back. Sounds good. Okay, last question I want to ask you before we wrap up. Dream celebrity to work with in style. You know, Cardi B just wore his gown a couple months ago. Oh, my God. Cardi B's one.
Starting point is 00:43:53 Beyonce has the top. Cardi B. She is. But you already did. Dream. Who can you do? Dream. Dream.
Starting point is 00:43:59 Who do I want to do? God, I wasn't even thinking. Everybody at the Emmys that didn't have my dress, those are the ones that I want to do. God, I wasn't even thinking. Everybody at the Emmys that didn't have my dress, those are the ones that I want to do at the Academy Awards. Oh,
Starting point is 00:44:09 I know her name. Oh my God, I can't think of her name and I love her. Patricia Arquette. Oh, I love Patricia, but no,
Starting point is 00:44:15 she, oh my God, how is the name not in my brain? Which show? No, she's a rapper, singer,
Starting point is 00:44:22 black, Nicki Minaj. No, I love Nicki Minaj. Oh, no. Lezo. That's who I want. I fucking love her. I love her.
Starting point is 00:44:31 Her attitude is just like, she kind of reminds me of Anna Nicole. Like, I don't give a fuck. I'm just me. And if I'm this way, who cares? I would love to put a gown on her. But guess what? He knows I can dress her, too, because I can work those boobs and the ass all into one. Lezo, Paul's going to dress you.
Starting point is 00:44:46 What's up? All right. I like it. After Sheena, sorry. Yes, Sheena first, then we'll go. Well, guess what? I'll have leftover fabric to do her entire dress. Love it.
Starting point is 00:44:56 So awesome. Well, I appreciate you guys being here. I know you're super busy with your travels and everything. Thank you for making the time. I'm so excited to wear some of your designs. Yes. And yeah, well,
Starting point is 00:45:08 I'll see you guys soon. And tell everyone to watch Gowning Out in Beverly Hills on Amazon Prime Video Worldwide. Oh my God, we're submitted for an Emmy. Congratulations.
