The following podcast is a Dear Media production.
From Vanderpump Rules to Motherhood and everywhere in between,
it's time to catch up with Sheena Shea. This is Shenanigans. And now here's your host, Sheena Shea. I gotta tell you I'm feeling good
This party's got me all charged up
All right, we are good as gold.
We are back in studio with my love, Kristen Doty. How are you?
Hi, Sheens.
We also, for the first time, have a very special co-host, but also kind of a guest, Mr. Jared.
I just like to call you Jared Lips.
Please do. That gets me all my people over to my Instagram where I keep everything situated.
So yes, Jared Lips is fine with me, Sheena Shea. You're in my phone, just Jared Lips. I need to add a lip emoji. You need an emoji.
Everyone has emojis. Yeah, you have an emoji in mine too. What emoji am I? A monkey. Oh yeah,
I do remember that. I like that. You have a red heart, like the red heart with the little dot
under it. Like an exclamation point heart? Yes, that one. Because I love so hard. Yeah.
dot under it. Like an exclamation point? Yes, that one. Because I love so hard. Yeah.
I love love. Yes, we know. That's one thing that we've always related on. And I feel like when other friends in our group don't get you, I always do. You do. I really do. Because we're
both empaths and people pleasers. Definitely. Yeah. Now I have to ask because recently it was
brought up by She Who Shall Not Be Named,
but they said that I like to use this podcast to exploit my friends. So I just want to ask,
Kristen of Sound Mind and Body, are you here willingly?
No, I was dragged here. I am here. I want to talk about your wedding. I want to talk about
my whole girl summer. I want to talk about it all. Okay, good. And it's so fun to be in the studio with you. Last time we did it was during the
pandemic and we had to do it like over Zoom or whatever. Yeah. So this is cool. This is fun.
I'm like a little girl gang kiki. We're all going to Mexico in a couple weeks.
Can I just say something, though? Yeah. I said this the other day when we were having a little
happy hour pre-wedding celebrations or whatnot. Butena i know you guys are not seeing her like in the flesh but you are glowing you've
got the pre-wedding glow on and it's like you are looking better than ever and i really i said that
the other night and i like think you know sometimes between instagram and waiting for the show to come
out and people kind of forget but like you you are looking hot mama and wedding ready.
And you know what I love when your hair is that length because your face is so small,
your body's so tiny. And like, it's like a few years back when you were single and you
were like taking like Chicago by storm and doing all of that and you had this like chic
little haircut. This is your look.
Thank you.
Yeah. Just the wedding glow is coming.
Yeah.
Hot mom summer. Let's go.
Yes. Hot mom summer moons mom. Summer moons hot mama.
So Kristen, you got so many questions.
So much love.
I know I sent you a few last night because I just wanted you to know like people are
being nice.
They want to know what you're up to.
So many people were like, I don't even have a question.
Just she's my favorite.
I miss her on my TV.
I'm sending her love.
Like there were hundreds of comments. That's so nice. Well, all of you follow me on Instagram
then and TikTok. Yeah, right. Okay. Yeah. So before we get into all of the questions, let's talk about
your TikTok. So it's just at Kristen Doty. It's just, yeah. And it's, yeah, just at Kristen Doty.
And I think I have like six up or something. Yeah. Yeah.
So now that I'm single, I essentially I like to call our friends Zach and Jared like my
handlers.
So I don't have like a boyfriend, but I have like my two gay best friends that take care
of me, you know, are there for me, help me out.
The best.
Company.
And yeah.
And so Zach's been helping me with my TikTok because I don't understand it.
I don't either.
My sister has to do mine for me.
Yeah. Yeah. I saw you just understand it. I don't either. My sister has to do mine for me. Yeah.
I saw you just went viral.
Thank you so much.
Congratulations.
I don't even know how that's possible,
but I'm learning.
I mean, I do think hashtags on TikTok are a thing.
Oh, they have to.
Yes, much more so than Instagram.
FYP for your page.
I always just hashtag that
unless it's a sponsored one.
I just do the FYP
because that's how I went viral. Yeah. So that's
essentially what motivated you to do it. Just
being single and just like, hey, I want to kind of show
a little bit more or just like the TikTok
what I was like, I just need
to be involved. Yeah, I had
posted a few, but they apparently
were like horrific and dumb.
And I don't know.
Are they still there?
They're archived.
I don't even post it like from my phone.
Like I do them and then Zach has my login.
Gotcha.
That's how my sister is too.
I had one that I didn't think was embarrassing.
I thought it was cute. So like right when TikTok was really popping off, you know, the D'Amelio's and all of that,
I did the Savage dance.
Yeah.
And then I was like, no, I can't post it.
I can't post it.
And I archived it.
And then, I don't know, fast forward like a year, I just saw it.
And I was like, this is cute.
And I posted it.
And I even said in the caption, I was like, had this in my archive since day one of TikTok
or something.
That was my caption.
Which is cute.
And so many people were like talking to it.
They're like, this trend's so old. I'm like,
read the caption. I ended up
deleting it because I felt embarrassed.
That's what I'm learning about TikTok. I thought I did a good job.
You have to be like on trend. Like if it's like
even two weeks past whatever this trend
is, like it's too late. Yeah. Oh my gosh.
And all I want to do is post about my dogs.
No one wants to see that on TikTok.
I gave
each cat one TikTok
and one did way better than the other one.
But then the second one didn't really pop off.
I was like, okay, no more.
There's no cats of TikTok.
We need to do a TikTok together.
Sorry, Jay, real quick.
I have one in my drafts
where I'm reacting to a thing of you
on Vanderpump Rules.
Oh, you showed me that.
I actually have a TikTok for you too, Sheena,
of you when you're, oh my God, have a TikTok for you too, Sheena, of you when
you're, oh my God, she's doing an Instagram live trimming her lashes and you talk about your ex.
And you're like, if you're one of the hundred thousand people who follow my ex, go off on his
tutorial. And then you said, anyways, back to tripping my lashes. So here's how I trim the
lashes. Oh my God. I'm going to post that when this episode comes out because it's so good.
I didn't even realize how funny that was until you pointed it out because that was just me talking.
I need to do more lives, especially for Viva Verano.
If you guys haven't already, shop my lashes, vivavaranolashes.com.
But I need to do some more lives because I have fun on lives.
I just I never have the time to sit down and do it.
Yeah.
And you're filming a show.
You have a podcast.
Oh, baby.
Oh, yeah.
Baby.
Almost a husband.
All the stuff.
Yeah, but it was funny.
So I was talking to Rob about the lashes,
and he did a little, not even a tutorial,
but he put them on and posted a video and whatnot.
And I was like, well, I mean,
you got 85% of your followers from me,
so, you know, you should post and support my shit.
And he goes, it's more like 95%.
I was like, I was giving you 85%,
but I'm glad you're self-aware.
Oh my God, that is amazing.
We're still getting him on the podcast soon.
I've just been too busy to make time for my ex-boyfriend.
So speaking of ex-boyfriends.
Yeah.
What a transition, Shana.
A more recent ex-boyfriend.
I have another one.
Yes.
To add to He's making you crazy part two
book. Let's talk about what have you been up to? You know, how are you since this breakup? I don't
know. I haven't seen you post too much about it, but I know people are asking because they still
don't know. What are you comfortable talking about and just, you know, where are you at right now?
So I'm back in an apartment, same neighborhood. So I feel very safe and I just had to get out.
So that's what I did.
And I'm just having ho girl summer, you know?
Hell yes.
Hot girl, but without all the tea.
Yeah.
You need that after a breakup.
I mean, we've all been there.
We've all been there.
And it's fun.
It is.
Yeah.
You just you need to like let loose and just not give a fuck.
No judgment.
Just do you.
What's an example for, because you're not obviously like the typical like club goer out girl.
You've always been a little bit more eclectic.
You've always been a little bit more kind of like a bird who beats to her own feather or whatever the saying is.
That was like a Jaxism.
I just made up something completely.
A bird that beats to her own feather. I just made up something completely. A bird that beats her own
feather. I think it's something to your own
drum. Yeah, that's probably more
on trend with the saying.
But me, maybe I am the bird that beats
to my own feather. Yeah, you flock to your own feather
or whatever. But the point is, so what is a
hot girl summer for you? You know, obviously
you're not going out to like, what's even
a club right now? Like Lavo? I don't even know.
Is Lavo a club? I thought it was dinner. Oh, I don't know. Is I thought it was dinner oh I don't know is it dinner in a club I mean the last club I'm thinking
of is like the hills when Heidi Montag was out working the door the last club I went to was
fucking Nightingale and it was miserable also there's like La Mesa I think clubs now that at
least the ones that I go to are more like lounge like poppy it's like yeah it's like you go and
you can have dinner yeah like what's like you go and you can have dinner.
Yeah.
Like what's the one classic cat
that like Max worked at?
Those are the more.
Oh yeah, totally.
Like loungy, yeah.
So you're a hot girl summer.
I'm almost 39 and a half.
So what's your hot girl summer look?
You don't have to half age
when you're almost 40, Kristen.
You can just say I'm 39.
Enjoy saying 39.
I know.
I'm going to be really sad
when that day comes.
I'm almost 39 and a half
it's really sad i'm going through it because i you know i want a baby and i'm like oh my god
i'm gonna be in my 40s freeze your eggs i know but i just i don't i watched you go through it
it wasn't that bad it was sad you were so i was emotional i was i was emotional and hormonal you
just need a good support system
around you during those 10 to 14 days. But then after that, it's done. I live alone with my two
dogs, Sheena. I lived alone with two cats, Kristen. That's actually way worse. So, okay.
Fucking cat lady all hormonal. No, literally, I lived alone both rounds when I did it with my two cats. It was physically, it wasn't that hard for me
personally. I know other people are like, oh my God, it was the worst and the shots and the bruises
and the this and that. Yeah, I'm not worried about that. No, that was like the easy part for me.
Emotional enough as it is, like without adding that to the. Is it something you would consider
though? Would you consider freezing your eggs? Yes. I was actually with a girlfriend yesterday who's 38, and she just, I was texting you
about it, Sheena, just went through IUI or whatever and IVF, and she got like, she has
four on ice, and she's 38.
So I was like, okay, that made me feel a little bit better.
So I'll think about it.
Yeah.
And you know, you've already gotten your levels tested.
So you're very fortunate, too, at your age to have such amazing numbers.
What did you just say?
At your age.
At my age, my numbers were very low.
Am I middle-aged?
They consider things over 35 geriatric.
I know.
They call like the geriatric pregnancy is over 35 or something insane.
I had one.
I know.
Shut up.
You are a geriatric pregnancy.
Dude, I'm 37, right?
37?
How old am I? I always shave a year off, you know, don't you know? We're in LA, baby. I know shut up you are a geriatric pregnancy dude I'm 37 right 37 hold on
I always shave a year off
don't you know
we're in LA baby
but no
I got pregnant at 35
and then I turned 36
right after
but yeah 35
you're geriatric
that is insane
yeah
it's so rude
yeah
it really is
I think we found a platform
we're gonna
we're gonna rearrange
the wording
here at the
the baby
baby giving place. The neonatal
centers. Oh my gosh. But yeah. So, okay. Ho Girl Summer. What does that look like? Yeah. What are
you doing for Ho Girl Summer? So I had COVID like a month and a half ago again, and I was like,
and I had just moved into my apartment and I was like, this is so boring. I'm alone. I can't leave.
I can't like, I'm just stuck in my apartment full of boxes.
So I downloaded Hinge.
Oh.
The dating app.
I'm on Hinge, Kristen.
Okay, cause you met Carter on Bumble, right?
I did meet Carter on Bumble,
but that was the only app I'd ever had.
He was the first swipe
and the only person I gave my number to.
And then I found out all of our friends knew him,
as we know.
Or slept with him. Or slept with him.
Or slept with him.
Go figure.
I swear to God, nobody better know the two guys I've actually gone out with.
So I've been on dates with two people and that was fun. But yeah, it was very chill. Like dinner,
grab drinks. Like the other one like went to his house. We cooked dinner. That was cool.
I have a boy that lives out of town that I've been seeing pretty often.
That's super fun.
Yeah.
So yeah, I'm just, you know, just keeping my company and unpacking boxes still and just figuring out what this life is going to look like these days.
Yeah.
It's a different chapter.
You know, you're entering into a different phase, a new chapter. A new chapter. Yeah. Yeah. It's a different chapter. You know, you're entering into a different phase, a new chapter.
A new chapter. Yeah. Yeah. You know, obviously with my most recent ex who sucks, but I thought
like when I moved in with him, I was like, oh my God, this is it. Like we're, you know,
I quit smoking six months ago. Yeah. Congratulations. Seriously. I've been
waiting 12 years for Kristen to quit smoking. Yeah. And I did it for me, but it was really like with Alex, it was like a non-negotiable for
him at the start.
And then when I was fired, I was going through so much and it was the pandemic.
And then just, it was one thing after another.
Totally.
He was accepting enough that it was too quote unquote stressful of a time for me to quit.
And then I was like, when is there going to not be a, when is there not going to be a
time that's stressful?
Right.
Like there's always going to be something.
There's always something.
And I'm learning now, especially as we get older, like, you know, it's like there are
more deaths and more changes and big life moments that we didn't really experience in
our 20s as much as we do now.
And it was like, yeah, life's never going to not be stressful.
So I just made the decision that on my birthday, that was it.
I was done.
And I haven't messed up.
And especially going through that breakup if I didn't smoke. it. I was done. And I haven't messed up. And especially going through that breakup
if I didn't smoke.
Yeah.
Hallelujah.
Seriously, no, I'm so proud of you.
But I did that partially because like,
you know, after talking to my doctor,
like I knew that I had to quit
at least three months before
I wanted to try to get pregnant.
And I really thought that was the road
that Alex and I were on.
And so thank God we didn't.
Thank God you didn't.
Yeah, truly. Seriously. I mean,
as hard as breakups are, and obviously like I was there, I came over, you know, and I saw how upset
you were the day that that happened. But everything happens for a reason. But do you remember what I
said to you that day? And I was like, Kristen, I was like, when, first of all, when I was going
through my divorce, she came over, she literally brought me groceries, magazines, wine, vodka, food, whatever I needed.
Opened up my blinds.
I was like, get your skinny ass off this couch.
Eat some fucking food.
Read a magazine.
Like, she really snapped me back in.
We used to read magazines.
That's how long ago your divorce was.
I know.
Check out this bogey.
We did.
But I went over that day and I was like, no, Kristen. I was like, remember what you said to me that day and I was like you and Janet came over
Kristen I was like
remember what you said
to me that day
I was like no no no
we are not going to do this
I said and I promise you
you can't see it right now
and she was so sad
and it was heartbreaking
but I was like
this is going to make sense
one day
one day you're going to be like
oh thank god
I am out of that
and it seems like
you're saying that
you're out of it
and the best thing
he could have done even though it didn't feel good in the
moment, was just cut off all communication.
Yep.
That's the way to do it.
Because I'm like, well, why are you pretending like this two and a half years like meant
nothing to you?
Yeah.
But I wouldn't have been able to move on.
And that's what we were trying to tell you, too.
It was just like, don't keep texting.
Don't reach out.
And you're like, but I just want him to like want me. I'm like,'t keep texting don't reach out and you're like but
I just want him to like want me I'm like I know you want to be wanted we all want to be wanted
but this is not what's going to be best for you to move on so I'm so happy that with some time
you now see I'm having great sex makeouts and oh so nice and having dinner cooked for you like I
mean I mean that's the kind of hoe girl summer I want to have too like someone cooking for me and Oats and so nice. And having dinner cooked for you. I know.
I mean, that's the kind of hoe girl summer I want to have too.
Like someone cooking for me and daunting all over me and everything.
And like being in pajamas and like that's how they get to know me.
Yeah.
It's not like I'm all dolled up and wearing like high heels.
Like, no, like you want to know me.
This is who I am.
And like, let's be cool with that.
Yeah.
And like dating like men.
Mm-hmm.
You know?
I love that. So speaking of being dolled up, this is be cool with that. Yeah. And like dating like men, you know? I love that.
So speaking of being dolled up,
this is how we met Jared was when he used to doll up all of the ladies of Vanderpump Rules, except me.
You never had time for me.
You know what is so funny, Sheena?
No, Sheena, you used to carry your makeup artist around
like in your pocket.
Well, I did.
I had Maureen for, and I still do.
I mean, for years.
But at the time, they told me they were—and also, I was pretty preoccupied with the five
girls that I was doing.
But Brittany and I—
I was like, I'm not coming sixth in line, okay?
Yeah, because you know by then—
I'm number one in Maureen's eyes.
I'm going to stay there.
But they would tell me, they go, oh, Sheena has a girl.
Sheena has a girl.
Sheena has a girl.
You know, so I was like, that's fine.
And I was like, I really can't.
I mean, I'm already, like, breaking a sweat.
Like, my hands are losing it, you know. Yeah. Lashes's fine and I was like I really can't I mean I'm already like breaking a sweat like my hands are losing it you know lashes are going on the wrong place
we were so happy for you but Brittany and I were like I'm sorry who wait what Ariana needs you
Shazi needs you wait who Katie now wants no no no no no no yeah Jared is ours like I remember
because you worked for this company at the time a million years ago with NBC Universal and so
that's how we met Jared yeah this company and then time. Yeah. A million years ago. With NBC Universal. With NBC. And so that's how we met, Jared.
Yeah.
We stood at this company.
And then after like the second time, I think, or even the first time, and then I text you
on the side and I was like, so do we like have to go through the company or can we just
like take you?
No, of course.
It's okay.
Yep.
Yeah.
But our, I mean, my iconic moment with you, Sheena, I remember is like when Vogue covered
us at, or covered you guys at the thing.
And I'm in the background shot of a Vogue Instagram where you're doing an insane hair flip.
Oh, yeah.
She had the long extensions.
Yeah.
So I've always felt connected to Sheena, even though we've just kind of become closer friends over the pandemic and after I got sick and everything.
But that moment was how iconic we're both on the Vogue Instagram.
And there I am in the background with Sheena, baby.
On Vogue, just like Kim Kardashian.
Yes.
So I want to talk a little bit about that, too.
For those who don't know that you are a leukemia survivor.
Yes.
You had a stem cell transplant from a stranger.
Yep.
From an anonymous donor in Germany.
Oh, yeah. Kristen was at the in Germany. Uh-huh. Oh,
yeah. Kristen was at the gala. I was so bummed I had to film and I couldn't go to the gala.
Yes. But you were there in spirit and we were like FaceTiming you and sending you pictures and videos. I know. So, okay. Talk to me a little bit about that journey. How did you
find out? Like, how did you get diagnosed and what was that process like? I mean,
it was a freak thing. Totally. I was actually at Jackson Brittany's wedding in, I guess that was June, 2019. And I
started to feel really sickly. And, but I, you know, I thought, oh, it's the Kentucky heat. It's
just, I traveling, I got a bug, whatever. And then I come home and I'm like really sick for a month.
And then we finally did the filming of, we wrapped up season, whatever it was, season eight at TomTom.
You know, where Jax is like, this is my show to Lisa and everything.
And I literally was doing makeup because you guys had filmed like a Hollywood reporter shoot also with some of the cast.
So I was there doing makeup for that.
And I literally left that place.
I was so ill.
Went to my car like shaking and drove straight to the emergency room from that night.
And they
kind of like started to monitor me then. And about two weeks later, it was I checked into another
hospital and two days later diagnosed with leukemia. That journey went into the pandemic.
Then they found me a donor, had to recover from a transplant, which is similar to like an organ
transplant, you know, so be the match saves lives. You know, it's a organ or a stem cell registry national here in America.
Only five percent of Americans are on the list.
And this is every single one of you listening.
Please sign up.
All you have to do is you just swap.
You just they mail you a swap kit.
Yeah, it's easy breezy.
Be the match dot org.
And everyone should do it.
It's really, you know, because you're a mixed ethnicity, correct?
So it's really shocking to learn. Like as a white person, I had a 77% chance of finding a match.
But someone who's mixed race or mixed ethnicity has maybe a 37% chance or different.
And the more, you know, because it's based on DNA.
They were talking about that.
Yeah.
It's like African-Americans.
It was only like 27 or something like that.
Yeah.
So it's really shocking.
And so I'm very grateful that I was able to, you know, and of course, you guys have rallied
around me.
I mean, you guys threw me a benefit at sir with Lisa's permission, you know, back in
2019 before the pandemic actually started.
So you guys have really like been that's why people are always like, how are you friends
with like all these people?
You don't even do their makeup anymore.
And it's like, no talking about like you leave your 20s and stuff.
Real life starts happening in your 30s.
You know, it's like we bonded together beyond just like,
oh, you know, I'm annoyed at so-and-so because she's in a tit for tat with this person.
It's like everyone united.
I mean, this was when you guys were all fighting
with everybody and everyone was fine.
You know what I mean?
I think, I feel like during that,
like no one was getting along with anyone.
No, and you guys all still came together.
And it was, it was really, really special. And so, so i mean i'm so happy to be in remission and like on
the other end of it i got to meet my donor at this gala it was so incredible and yeah it's just that
was that was like wild so like when i got to the gala we saw jared and his family like right when
we walked in and he had to be he was like basically having that hide away so he didn't meet Marion or accidentally run into each other.
Yeah.
And then the videos, right?
You and Marion each did a video post-transplant.
Yeah.
And neither of you had seen the other ones until that moment?
No, yeah.
And they just come to a couple weeks before the gala.
Yeah.
What was that moment like?
What emotions were—you must have had so many running through you in that,
but just like,
what,
what did that feel like to meet your donor?
It's just like,
well,
obviously it's inexplicable because he saved my life.
You know what I mean?
It's,
but it's,
it's just one of those things.
It's like,
holy shit.
Like you're the person who took the time out of your busy life two years ago.
Don't start to cry.
And to do this for a stranger.
And, you know, it's so meaningful
because people join the registries
for all different types of reasons.
And his mom, he lost his mom to cancer 13 years ago.
And six years ago, he had a friend
who had a blood disease, a blood cancer like I had.
So he just joined the registry
and hoping he would be a match to that person.
And two years after that, he was a match to a stranger.
And he said, no problem, I'll do it. And I mean, and, he was a match to a stranger and he said,
no problem, I'll do it.
And I mean,
and he's the nicest guy.
His family's so nice.
It's unbelievable.
You know, it's just like
one of those.
Just out of curiosity,
what is that experience
like for him?
Like the actual
like donating physically.
Well, because so it used
to be very painful process
where they'd have to get
into your bone marrow.
So you can imagine where bone marrow lives inside your bones.
It's no longer like that.
Thank God for science.
It's like a really thick needle.
I kind of remember.
Yeah, it can be very traumatic.
I mean, I always have like the thing because I had to get that done all the time, like once a month.
So I'm like, OK, I have to do it all the time.
So even if you guys have to do it once to be a hero, like do it, you know, like go orf.
But it's for him.
He told me, you know, he said it was simple for him. It was five days of this shot called Nupagen, which basically makes your blood
system go completely away. The same as chemo, because your blood has to be like completely
clean and like free of any diseases or whatever. And hot flashes, hot flashes talking about this.
Um, and so basically he, then on the fifth day, he just goes and gives about five hours of blood.
And he just, he sits there with one arm going in and one arm going out of blood coming in and coming out.
And they clean it up and they send it the same day, like 24 hours to America.
And then they get the transplant going.
The day the airline shut down too, they got it there.
Friday the 13th, 2020.
Oh my gosh.
Wow.
Friday the 13th too.
That's crazy.
Yeah, it was truly insane.
Like I cannot believe that it even happened.
And that's, so there's so much, so many layers to it.
Cause I was also like fighting the, you know, like beating the transplant while I'm, so
I'm not necessarily thinking of my donor during this whole possibility or this whole process.
And then I got the message from him when we both signed off.
It's kind of like an open adoption, like if you both agree to sign off
and he signed off within 24 hours, obviously I had been signed off for forever. Yeah. And he
and he messaged me on Instagram because I was so afraid. Like, what do I say to him? What if he
doesn't like me? What if he's this? You know, what if he and so he messaged me, he says, I've been
waiting for two years to know if you were alive. It's so and I and like and he's, you know, his
English is broken. And he's like, it's so amazing to see that you're alive. It's so, and I, and like, and he's, you know, his English is broken and he's like,
it's so amazing to see that you're here.
And I was just like, and that's when I,
so I had like my private, like, you know, emotional thing.
Like I was so ecstatic when I met him on stage
because we were able to chat like kind of privately
and have like our private moments,
but on stage and meeting him was just joy.
And then I was shoving shots down his throat.
Yeah, and then we just partied like it was 1999, baby. I love that. Oh, my God. So incredible. I'm so happy you're here. You're
healthy. You're cancer free. Yes. Fuck yeah. All right. Great to support system. So thank you,
ladies. Definitely. We're going to take a quick little break and then we'll be right back.
All right. Time to talk therapy. And I mean, talk space therapy. Brock is on. I'm so proud of him.
His third session now, and he is loving it. I know he was a little hesitant at first,
but now that he's in, he's in. So now that Brock has gotten set up with talk space,
I mean, he's literally able to reach out to his therapist or psychiatrist at any time
from anywhere. It makes taking care of our mental health just super easy. I know with my therapy,
I'm more relaxed when I'm traveling, knowing that if I need to talk to my therapist with Talkspace,
I can just send them a message from wherever I am. And that's what exactly Brock has been doing.
He was in the car the other day and was able to message his therapist. So, you know, working
through things in therapy can be tough as he understood in the beginning, but connecting with
a therapist does not have to be tough at all with Talkspace. I wholeheartedly recommend Talkspace for therapy.
You guys can sign up online and start talk therapy the same day as you sign up. You can text,
video, or send voice messages to your licensed therapist. So it's incredibly convenient to have
virtual sessions from the comfort of your own home. It's affordable. They have a therapist
network of thousands of licensed therapists with
years of experience and over 40 specialties, which includes depression, anxiety, trauma,
relationship issues. I mean, so much more. It is secure and private. They use the latest end-to-end
bank-grade encryption technology to store clients' information, and it complies with
all of the latest HIPAA regulations. Talkspace is a fraction of the cost of in-person therapy. So
instead of waiting for an appointment, you can send unlimited messages to your therapist 24-7,
and they will engage with you daily, five days a week. As a listener of the podcast,
you'll get $100 off your first month with Talkspace. So to match with a licensed therapist today, go to Talkspace.com. Make sure you use the code

questions, a lot of love, like I said, but walk us through right now, now that you're in your new
home, what is a typical day like with you and the pups? I don't know why I just thought of this
when you said home. Like my friend has this line and like a clothing line and there's a there's a
doormat that I want to have, but like put a rug over it and it says this is not a whorehouse.
It's a whore home. I feel like I feel like on my fun days, I want to like take the carpet away
and then, you know, live my best life.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Since I've moved into my apartment, I've actually been traveling a lot.
So I do have a guest bedroom because for James May,
I have, you know, basically when the pandemic hit,
we moved out of our office from downtown.
I lived in my house. I had an office there, have, you know, so much inventory and just that stuff needs
to be done. So I had to get a two bedroom. So right now, like that room is just still a lot
of boxes, but I made sure I just needed to like nest, you know, totally. I had to get all new
furniture. Like it was just a really big starting over point for me. Yeah. So I have James May,
a little project I can't talk about yet that working on that you're familiar with, Sheena.
And yeah, my dogs and but I've really been traveling so much and I'm ready to like not,
but I'm leaving on Wednesday. I'm like, but wait, you're leaving again this week and then we have
Mexico. So exactly. I'm gone for like six days and then I'm back for three days and then leaving for your wedding.
And then after that, I just like need to pump the brakes and just kind of sit still for a minute.
Totally.
But it's hard, you know, and I think the best thing for me post breakup was to be that busy.
Absolutely.
You know?
Yeah.
I moved to Las Vegas after mine.
I did a show six nights a week just to get out of LA, be out of this atmosphere.
And it was the best restart just to keep myself busy. And then, you know, once you are keeping
yourself busy and you're distracted and you're just finding other things that you enjoy doing
and you're forgetting about all the past stuff and it just is like a good restart.
Yeah. And I'm in school right now, I guess you could say.
Wait, what?
I enrolled in an interior design class.
Oh my God.
Congratulations.
It's online, which is cool.
Yeah.
It makes it easier.
Yeah, I did it like when I was still dating Alex
because he was going to bring me on.
We started looking at houses to flip together.
And so that was like, I was so excited.
And I'm like, okay, well, I want to like actually
be credited for this, like for doing the flips and whatnot. So I enrolled in a course that I
get accreditation for. So that's been super fun. That's fun. I could totally see you doing that.
Yeah, I really enjoy it. And actually Ariana's brother, Jeremy.
Right. We were just talking about that.
Yeah. So Jeremy's girlfriend, they just moved into a house near San Diego.
And she contacted me the other day and she was like, I can pay you.
We're like, I don't have time to look for furniture.
Will you help me?
Jeremy and I have a completely opposite taste in what we want the house to look like.
And it's going to be a little bit of a challenge because they are so polar opposite.
But I was like, I don't want you to pay me.
And this is fun for me.
And I like this challenge.
Yeah.
You know, so that's what I've been doing.
I love that.
And then going on dates and, you know.
Yes.
Talking to boys on the phone and flirting.
And it's like so fun.
It's fun.
It is.
Will you ever have a He's Making You Crazy Part 2 book?
Maybe.
I really, really want to adapt it for television first.
Yes.
That was one of the questions that came in.
They asked if you were going to turn it into something.
That's why Michelle and I wrote the book to begin with.
As you guys know, she wrote How to Lose Guy in 10 Days, which became a killer movie.
Yeah.
So that's really why we wrote it to begin with.
I wouldn't do, I will say, I would not do He's Making You Crazy all over.
It's like I'm past that. Right. I can, I leaned into the crazy Kristen thing that was created on the show on Vanderpump. And that's why I wrote the book. It was like,
you know what? You guys want to call me crazy. I'm just going to take the C word back.
Yeah. So now I think there's, there can be like a new chapter of that. Yeah. You know?
Yeah, definitely. Cause I own my shit. No, you definitely do.
Is there a moment on the show that you wish, I'm sure there's many moments, you know, that we wish
maybe didn't make it on, but is there one that stands out that you're like, oh God, I wish that
never aired? Yeah. I wish me falling and solving. But even in that moment, I fell and I stayed right where I was and yelled.
You know, I owned that little moment.
I wish Solvang in general never happened.
I hated Solvang.
I hated everything about it.
Lala made merch off your Solvang trip.
She did.
That's so trashy.
Yeah.
Oh, my God.
And Sandoval has the Sandoval Ariana
has the solving
meltdown
yeah
so I just wish
solving never happened
no
the girls trips
in this group
there was one
recently
that I obviously
wasn't on
and I wasn't
invited on
and I was
okay with that
because I'm like
well the last
girls trips
I've been on
have just ended
in tears
and sadness.
Have we ever had a girls trip that didn't?
No.
I can't think of one.
It was like even when we were in Montauk, it was like you and I were having fun together.
But then when the four of us were together, it just wasn't fun.
No.
There's certain people you can't travel with, you know?
Yeah, definitely.
And I was like, am I a good travel partner?
You too.
Yes.
Thank you.
Well, to me me you are.
And that's the thing
like I am always the one
who wants to share a room
with Kristen.
We watch our murder mysteries
to go to bed
like I have fun
sharing a room with Kristen
and then there was
one Mexico trip
where I think I
maybe they had me room
with Lala
and then they put you
by yourself
and I was like
I'm like Lala
would rather be by herself
I'll stay with Kristen
but I ended up still in your room every night.
And they loved, like, you know, filming me by myself.
Like, I felt like I was on The Bachelorette.
I was like, so what do I do by myself right now?
They love those moments for you.
Remember you eating pasta in your bed, too?
Like in the dogs.
Yeah.
Oh, I do remember that.
Yeah.
OK, well, opposite question then.
Is there a moment that you wish was shown that wasn't?
I wish you and I going to the fertility doctor.
Oh, yeah.
Did we never see that?
Nope.
Yeah, I don't know what.
Because you and Shay got divorced pretty quickly after that.
Yeah, it was the same season.
And it just doesn't make sense anymore to, yeah.
Right.
But certain things like that, you know.
Yeah.
And more fun.
Like, all the fun that we have in the funny, like, lighthearted moments, I feel like, don't get shown.
They're like, yeah, that's not really the story we're looking for, Kristen.
But if you want to do some tequila shots, fall on your face and cry in a bathroom.
Do you get embarrassed by being clumsy like that?
Because, like, obviously in our friend group, you're like, you're like, I'm the clumsy one.
Like, and it's funny because like I'm the I'm a clumsy one, too, but I'm not on national television.
Well, you are on national television, Sheena.
So you have to be careful.
But like if I like I just had a fall the other day, like if the camera saw that, they would be like, I mean, people would be laughing at me for days.
Do you do?
Is it just like this is just part of the job?
Like whatever it is, what it is.
Or does it embarrass you? Like my mom ever since since I was little my mom's nickname for me is grace
It's just it's a me thing
yeah, and I just started working out with our friend Megan who's training who has been training me and
It's not like let's do push-ups and do this and like you need to lose weight
It's like bitch. We need to get your hips sturdy, your posture better.
You need to stop breaking your feet.
I'm not joking.
Literally, she was like—
Because he's like that Wentz-off, you know?
The inflatable car.
Yeah.
But it's like I know it.
I'm aware of it.
I try to embrace it because everyone makes fun of me.
Sometimes it hurts my feelings.
I don't like being the butt of the joke all the time.
And it
gets a little... I feel like
both you and I have been that
person in our friend group
where we're just the nice ones
who are just going to take it.
But I do feel like,
again, not naming any names, but I
feel like the weak ones are the mean ones.
And they prey on us.
And we're actually the strongest ones because we can take it over and over and over.
That's at least how I see it.
Good point.
I agree with you.
I mean, and so as an example, Lala, I love her.
I don't think she's a weak one.
I think she's the tits.
No, no.
So that's not who we're talking about.
But there was this moment she did Watch What Happens Live a couple of months ago. And
the question was, and she talked about this on her podcast, but the question was, who from
Vanderpump Rules would you not let watch your daughter for a week? I saw that. And she said me.
Yeah. And I cried and cried. That upset me too. My feelings were so hurt. Also, I'm not even on Vanderpump,
so like leave me out of that.
And why didn't you say like,
I don't know, James Kennedy or Tom Sandoval
or Tom Schwartz,
who like forgets to tie his own shoes.
He forgot I had a kid.
He asked if shit hits a fan with me and Brock right now
because he had a roommate, you know, for a few weeks.
And that's a whole other thing.
But he was like, but Sheena, come on.
Like if shit hit the fan and you and Brock broke up,
like you wouldn't get a roommate. I go, well, I have a
child, so I've got a roommate
for the next 17 years of my life.
And he was like, oh yeah, I forgot about
her.
Yeah, definitely better people to pick.
You're one of the first people
I would say to watch my daughter.
But when I finally
confronted her about, I did not like confronted,
but I was going to say something at Cruisye's, Brittany's son's birthday party.
And then I was like, this isn't appropriate.
And then it was really just eating away at me, even though it was just something really dumb and passing.
Yeah.
And I sent her a text and she's the worst texter immediately.
The worst.
Immediately was like, oh, my God, I just thought it was funny because you're just kind of that person that we make fun of.
And I don't mean it, but I was like.
So even she like was bought into the narrative that Bravo's produced.
Yeah.
And so, yeah.
Yeah.
And I mean, she's done that with me as well.
But I feel like now her and I are in such a good place.
But we've had those conversations where she's like, it's just because you're just an easy target.
And she says that with me, with other people in this friend group, she's like, you're just, you're the easy
target. But I'm so thankful now that her and I have gotten to a good place where now she has my
back. And when I am that target, it's like, whoa, wait a second. Yeah. Let me say something.
Yeah. Thank you. And why is Sheena always the target? Or why was Kristen always the target?
We're the nicest one. Yeah. So it's good to kind of bring that to the forefront.
And it makes sense if you do a little rewatch, you might start to see some patterns and behaviors.
Oh, yeah.
I remember my last season on Vanderpump Rules, everybody was like, Sheena and Kristen carried that fucking show on their back.
And then your next season that I was not on, who carried that season?
Yeah.
Comment below. Give credit where credit's due. Unrelated question for you, Sheena. How's your back feeling? My lower back. I know yours
healed, Kristen, over the past two years. Yeah, I. So speaking of the show,
I just have one more question.
I asked Brittany this too.
Like,
is it,
well,
I guess it's kind of a two part question.
Is it hard or have you gotten more used to it?
You know,
seeing us still continue with filming when you're not a part of it.
And what do you miss the most about it?
So strangely enough,
it's not as hard as I thought it was going to be like
post pandemic. Now that you guys are like out and about and filming and everything. Yeah. Because
I feel like it's not the show that I was on. Yeah. So it's like I don't know that because
it's not the same anymore. For sure. Yeah. But what is hard is Katie and I live in the same
complex now. And Oh, yeah.
And there was like a nice little filming notice
like on the front door of my building
that was like,
Vanderpump Rules, season 10, like filming.
I'm like, cool.
Cool, guys.
Just like in your face.
That's a literal in your face
like when you shut the door.
Okay, so what do you miss the most though about filming?
I mean, I just miss being with my friends.
Yeah.
You know, and that being my, I just miss being with my friends, you know, and that being
my job is to hang out with my friends because we're doing, we're living life anyway. But now
it's like when I want to hang out with you or hang out with, you know, Lala or whoever,
and it's like, oh, I can't, we're filming. Oh, sorry. I'm filming today. I'm filming. I'm like,
cool. Cool, cool, cool. Like it's sad, you know, I i miss it but i have high hopes that you know i'll
i will make a return to television i was just gonna follow up with that question yeah a lot
of people asked when will we get to see you back on our tvs so yes i would like to say sooner than
later yeah i would too yeah but you know it, for sure it'll be at least a year
because you have to film before it can air.
Yeah.
Sooner than later.
Yeah.
High hopes.
I have high hopes as well.
Ooh.
Yeah.
You're too good.
It's definitely a different show now.
It's not the same.
I mean, it's just,
it's different,
but your presence is missed so much in this group.
I love to entertain. I mean, that's why we had such a great show because of our dynamic. Like,
you know, none of us can do this on our own. No one's no one's getting a spinoff that's working.
Like, it's been tried. It's it's our relationships. We're good because we're a group. It's an
ensemble cast show. Which I love.
We all make each other better or worse at times, but good for TV.
Entertaining.
That's for sure.
Yeah, seriously.
Okay, so we had talked a little bit about now you with the two dogs, your exes and whatnot.
So do you and Carter still share the dogs?
I saw some questions come in about that.
I mean, the dogs have always been mine since we broke up.
Like they've always lived with me.
But yeah, if I need a babysitter, he's the first person I call.
And yeah, I mean, he was he's a he's a good friend.
I mean, he's in a relationship, long term relationship.
They live together, but he's still a really great friend.
And through my breakup, he was a really great friend and was helping me with the dogs.
You know, when I didn't feel like I was capable of taking care of them the right way or when i was moving and all of that so yeah but we're not dating we're not back together everyone
like there was something recently i get so many messages about this every time you tag a friend
well no but you you have a friend who also has a lot same carter janine carter who's my
veghaholic she's my veghaholic partner. She's my Vegaholic partner.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So, but people would go crazy every time.
And especially right when they were starting to say that,
even I would get DMs like,
hey, is this, like they would send me your story.
Does this mean Kristen and Carter are back together?
And I was like, wrong Carter.
Okay, well also Alex and I broke up
and Alex blocked me on Instagram.
So it looked like we unfollowed each other.
And then I wished Carter a happy birthday
on my story like I always
do every single year that we've been broken up.
And immediately everyone's like, oh my God,
she and Alex don't follow each other and she wished Carter a happy
birthday. And then the tag's like you're
on a trip with this girl, Janine,
or you were hanging out with Janine, but you couldn't see.
But so her last name, so people were like,
Carter, Carter, Carter.
It's happening all over again.
It's all happening.
Yeah.
Carter and I didn't have
like a dirty breakup
and I'm really grateful for that.
Yeah.
It's been,
and we still have
the same friend group.
So,
you know,
that's what I do.
I break,
when I break up with people,
I like get their friends
because they love,
their friends love me more
than I love them.
Yeah.
I love that.
I just adopt them
you know
yeah
there you go
okay so I have
some questions
for both of you
is that how I should
like vet my new boyfriend
is like making sure
I really love his friend group
find out the friend group first
yes
ooh good plan
right
I'm like you're great
and everything
but your friend sucks
sorry
do some group dates
be like bring your friends
yeah
what is that like
those little mean things
like he's a 10 but but his friends all suck.
You know?
Oh my God.
His friends listen to Nickelback.
Okay.
Jared.
Yes.
We all want to know.
Okay.
Couple parts to this question.
So you've done a lot of celebrities makeup.
Yeah.
So A, who is one of the coolest, like one of your favorite celebrities makeups you've done?
Two, you don't have to say a name, but can you give a story about someone whose makeup you've
done who maybe wasn't so appreciative or someone that was difficult? Like what can you spill about
being a celebrity makeup artist? Okay. Ooh, well I'm going to, I'm going to
ixnay like Vanderpump and the whole Bravo world because like, you know
Like it's pretty I've done Sonia and a few housewives and stuff, but it's all kind of like the same
But so I will say oh I worked on I didn't work on with Ariana Grande like on her actual face
But I did her dancers for her music video tears dry on their own and it was me and
Makeup by Mario did her makeup. So as a makeup artist, if you are in the makeup world, he's like an icon.
So I got to be able to sit with him
and chat with him.
And then Ariana was the sweetest person.
She came around.
She met everybody on the set.
And you know,
I'm one of those people
kind of like real chatty and friendly.
And like, I'm not,
I don't get,
I get starstruck by the weirdest people.
Like I saw what,
like a weather lady one time
walking down the street
from like the local news.
And I was like, Maria, you know, but then it's like, but then I see Christina Aguilera and I'm like, weather lady one time walking down the street from like the local news. And I was like, Maria?
You know, but then I see Christina Aguilera.
And I'm like, hello, Christina.
How are you this evening?
You know, it's like it's some weird thing that, you know, living in L.A. for 10 years and trying to like keep your cool at all times.
I completely get it.
You get it.
I've seen a soap opera actress in line at Ralph's and I freaked out.
Exactly.
And I'm like, Elton John, though, I was starstruck by.
But I get that where it's like you see like an A-list celebrity like a Kardashian or someone like oh there she is she's really pretty
well it's like when I met Chloe and we met her at a makeup event it was just so like
casual and feel but anyways oh my gosh so so the point was Ariana was amazing and I just thought
someone who especially with all the stuff she had been through with like you know she licked the
donut and she was all like this horrible like kind of like a bitchy bratty, like girl who gets carried around by her bodyguard. It was before, you know, her
ex passed away, which is so sad. But she was just so kind to go around to the entire set. And I was
the makeup artist to her dancers, like, and for her to sit there and she had her dog. And then,
you know, like I said, I can just chit chat with her. And like, I have dogs, obviously,
which is like a, you know, dog people are just people. Yeah. And so she's just like, oh, my God. And tell me about her showering and her dogs comes in the shower.
And I'm like, my dog does that, too. You know, she's just like it. So it just felt really cool.
And I was just like, this is not what I expected. Alternatively, a week later, I worked on one of
the Queen of Pops music videos, not Britney, Madonna. And she was I mean, first of all,
we got the call to go in about 10 p.m. the night before
the shoot started at 10 a.m., so we got a 12-hour notice to book all these, like, makeup artists.
It was so poorly planned. Someone of Madonna's scale, you would think that this would be, like,
you know, planned, and her team, especially Bea Akerland, who maybe people don't know,
but Jonas Akerland and Bea Akerland, they're like a little duo. She's her creative director. She is so mean. She's so vicious. I was just a makeup assistant
for dancers. Once again, I wasn't even like the main makeup. I was just an assistant
to the dancers, makeup artists. This woman came in screaming, saying, I work for Madonna.
Why are these 90 extras not ready? And I'm like, excuse me, ma'am, you want me to do
90 people's makeup in 30 minutes? And it was a lunch break. So I'm like, excuse me, ma'am, you want me to do 90 people's makeup in 30 minutes?
And it was a lunch break.
So I'm like, here's the thing is like,
I've been in this industry a little too long.
So I said, sweetie, have a seat.
And she was like, and I said,
I love your little Ikea line.
She had this like Beetlejuice knockoff Ikea line.
I said, I'm really proud of your little Ikea line
that you had.
I said, is this a union project
that we're working on right now?
I said, because right now this is my lunch. And if you want me to get up to work, I will happily
call the union. That bitch ran away. Some guy came down and was like, what's going on? What's
going on? And I said, oh, I'm just curious about the hours that we're getting paid because now
it's, you know, we're going into hour 16. I'm on my lunch break. And now I'm being yelled at
by this woman saying that I have to do 90 people's makeup in 30 minutes for because she works for M
That's what she kept saying and I said, well, I don't work for anyone
You know, so anyways, she is horrible
It's not even Madonna
It's but I kind of believe like you are who you surround yourself with
Yeah, and I'm like and I you know Gigi Gorgeous was involved in this video and then I saw her at watch what happens live
a year later and they were really disappointed with how the video came out because it was,
it was just very, she was just wrong in everything she did.
Like, it was about gun violence in a club,
and it was too triggering about Pulse.
Like, you know, I'm from Orlando,
and Gigi's partner, Nats, has a very strong relationship
with Pulse, the nightclub in Orlando.
And so we just kind of commiserated after that experience,
and we're like, that was a horrible experience.
And I thought it was just for me.
And like, they all confirmed, no, for all of them.
It was, and they all got the call the night before.
Like Gigi got a call 12 hours before.
And of course people are like, a Madonna video.
Sure, I'll do it.
I think it's going to be this amazing.
Yeah.
And it was just not good.
Wow.
Yeah.
And I mean, no NDAs.
For Ariana, Madonna, M, go fuck yourself. Yeah, yeah, seriously. And it wasn't her specifically. I mean, she's fine. I mean, she NDAs. Thumbs up for Ariana. Madonna, M, go fuck yourself.
Yeah, seriously.
And it wasn't her specifically.
I mean, she's neurotic.
But you are who you surround yourself with. I would never want my team to.
And your team going to the lowest level person,
that's, again, it's like the weak people,
what you're talking about.
It's like the weak person going for the weakest.
Like, you're going for the makeup artist assistant
to the dancers.
Yeah.
And asking me why, like like hair's not done.
And like,
and I'm like,
I don't know,
dude,
maybe it's because the hairstylist she hired wasn't real hairstylist.
He's a Madonna fan covered in Madonna tattoos and didn't know how to do the
hair.
Oh my God.
That's a great story,
Jared.
All right.
A couple of questions for Kristen to wrap this up.
Let's just pick the nice ones.
Yes. Kristen's so nervous. ones. Maldonado.
Yes.
Kristen's so nervous.
Letty Maldonado wants to know,
what is some advice you would give 2013 Kristen Doty?
Oh, God.
Was that when the show debuted?
That's when Tom and I broke up.
It was when the first season aired.
So we shot our pilot October 2011.
And then summer 2012 we shot the first season
and it aired January 2013.
Okay.
January 7th, 2013.
I don't know why
I'll never forget that.
I know.
Get Botox.
Oh, you didn't from day one?
I know.
Oh, girl, I did.
After we shot our pilot
I was like, Botox me.
No, I had like, I didn't know how to do my hair.
I didn't know how to do makeup.
Like in my interviews and stuff.
Like I had no idea what, oh God, just like be hotter.
And yeah, I mean, I wish I would not,
I wish I wouldn't have stayed with Tom as long as I did.
For both of our sake.
But you know, it all worked out. Yeah. And
we're friends. Definitely. Yeah. You know, but mostly just, yeah, get Botox and look hotter
and like wear mascara, like learn how to like put lashes on. Yeah. Like the important things
you need for camera. The important things in life. Yeah. The Botox is one thing I did do
because I remember I was obviously and still am a fan of the Kardashians. And I remember
watching that show. And then after a few seasons, like, oh, my God, Kim's had work done this and
that. And I'm like, I think she just got some more Botox or some fillers. You know, it's not
really work done. But I'm like, if I'm ever on a show, I need to get Botox before the show airs.
So people don't say like the second season. Oh, she's changed. And in the very first episode,
oh she's changed and in the very
first episode
part of our pilot
is in it
oh yeah
and my eyebrows
are moving
I think I'm like
sitting outside
like the back alley
of Sir or whatever
talking
and my eyebrows
are moving
but then like
the rest of the episode
it's not
because they took
some stuff from our pilot
and put it in our
first episode
so that's what
helps get our show
picked up
let's keep an eye
on for Sheena's
eyebrow moving
and Stassi was brunette in one scene because they had to use part of the pilot That's what helps get our show picked up. Let's keep an eye out for Sheena's eyebrow moving.
And Stassi was brunette in one scene because they had to use part of the pilot.
Yeah.
Because to see her and Jax happy.
There was no footage of her and Jax ever being happy.
Oh, she was brunette during the pilot. Yeah, the pilot to the first season filming was like six months, seven months.
So much had already changed in our group as things always and still are constantly changing.
Yeah.
But yeah, I was like, no, Botox.
And then last season, season nine was the first season I've never, like I haven't had any Botox because I was breastfeeding.
Oh, breastfeeding.
Yeah.
So I was pregnant the whole time off camera.
Oh, that's right.
But then breastfeeding for a year, I couldn't get Botox until recently.
So I just got it for the first time
like a month and a half ago.
Congratulations. It felt so good. I know.
It does feel good, doesn't it? I know.
I bet the question was more leaning toward
how would you be different? I was like, no,
it's physical. Yeah, I'm like, no
statement necklaces.
And that too. Oh, yeah. The statement
necklaces were really a thing.
Were they in?
I don't even remember them being that in fashion.
They were.
They were.
I just didn't keep up with it.
I mean, were they or did we just think they were because someone told us they were?
Probably we thought they were.
That's what I'm kind of thinking because I don't remember it.
I was like, well, if you wear them, I want to wear them.
Do you know why I started wearing statement necklaces actually?
I'm remembering because of those dumb Saint Tropez dresses that we had to wear on Saturday
nights.
Yes, that was how it started.
It anchored your dress down.
It really did.
So when you would lean over,
like your tit wouldn't pop out on someone's table.
Totally.
All right.
Edna Lopez underscore.
How was life after filming?
But also, what is your secret to continue to look so great?
There were a lot of nice messages.
People, you really look good.
I eat well. You know good. I eat well.
You know, I eat really well.
I think I've stood by this forever.
Like, what you put in your body is going to show on the outside, you know?
So, yeah, that's pretty much it.
And, I mean, I'm lucky.
You know, I'm Lebanese.
My mom looks super young and has great skin.
And I tan easily.
So, I think.
Yeah.
And I take care of myself.
Totally.
Take my makeup off at night.
Always.
That's my one thing I always say is always wash your face at night.
No, a hundred percent.
Literally.
I use like, my other thing is like I use, this is so like girly, but I use makeup wipes.
Uh-huh.
I do too.
But I have to wash my face also.
Yep.
Like you can't just use a makeup wipe and then throw lotion on over it.
No.
It's just the residue.
Yeah.
I can tell like if I accidentally sleep in my makeup the next day day I'm like, oh, my God, I look haggard.
Yeah.
Haggard.
No, I'm like, makeup wipe.
Right, Jared?
And then.
Makeup artist.
Yeah, I mean.
Yeah, because a makeup wipe is only going to, you know, take off the first layer.
It's just the surface level.
And then it's going to move everything into the pores, especially the more you keep wiping.
Yeah.
And staying hydrated.
And, yeah.
I mean, it's pretty simple, guys. And staying hydrated. And yeah, I mean,
it's pretty simple, guys.
Yeah.
All true.
All right.
A little juicy question
to end this podcast.
Tiana Radin,
she sent in a lot of questions,
but she wants to know,
what would you consider
to be your most toxic trait?
Ooh.
Oh,
something that I'm working
through in therapy. So I think I'm very self-aware I'm very aware of
like my shortcomings and things like that however something that I didn't realize I did
that I'm still working through is I apologize for everything I do I know when I'm doing something
wrong and I never thought that I kind of would make excuses also.
I don't do the I'm sorry, but ever.
However, I try to justify.
I want to explain why I did what I did.
This is why we're the same.
Yeah.
And I'm not trying to say it's okay that I did that.
I just want you to know.
Let me just give you a little more background.
It's not like I'm sorry, but you should have done it differently.
It's like I'm sorry, but here's the mistakes I made.
I feel this need to
explain and justify so people
know that it wasn't malicious. I totally get you.
Oh, that makes sense.
I've had to do that recently. A lot.
It sounds like I'm making excuses to
people though and that's not what I
mean, so I'm working.
I know. See, and Kristen, this is why
I get you. Yeah, you do.
And I just I know how to communicate with you. And some people may see that as being the enabling
type of friend. But I just think that I get you. And I think as adults and grown people,
we need to sometimes figure things out for ourselves. We need to make our own mistakes
and we need to learn and we don't need our friends always telling us how to be. And that's what I don't. I have a chapter called
she's making you crazy. Why do my friends think that they know what's best for me? I appreciate
it. Yeah. I love the love. I love the looking out. But like I I've made it this far. I'm almost
I'm thirty nine. Not a half. I'm thirty nine and I've made it this far. I'm almost, I'm 39. Not a half. I'm 39 and I've made it this far. I think I got it.
I appreciate the advice. I, but like my, my sister always, whenever I'm like upset about something,
the first thing she says on the phone is, do you want advice or do you want me to listen?
Yeah. Cause I'm not going to give you unsolicited advice if you just need me to listen. And that's
the way that I try to be with my friends too. Not everyone wants to hear advice. Sometimes they just
want to vent and then be like,
wow,
I had to get it off my chest.
Yeah.
So it's like,
I appreciate and I love it,
but like,
just like,
let me live.
Totally.
And if I don't do things.
That's a good advice for couples too.
Like,
do you want advice or do you want me to just listen?
Because,
you know,
because I feel like a lot of like,
especially straight couples or whatever,
it's like the guy wants to be like,
okay,
how can I fit?
You know,
it's like in the nature.
Like,
how do I fix this?
We want to fix everything.
Yeah,
you are a fixer.
You're a fixer.
Yeah.
Which gets us in trouble
because then it's now our fault.
Yeah.
Even though it had nothing to do with us
because we were trying to fix something.
Yeah.
So,
I'm also trying to become less of
getting involved in other people's bullshit
that's none of my business.
Wow.
Trying.
Well,
hopefully,
I do want to fix everything.
Hopefully,
