From Vanderpump Rules to motherhood and everywhere in between. It's time to catch up with Sheena Shea.
This is shenanigans.
And now here's your host,
Sheena Shea. Because we're good as gold. Because we're good as gold.
Because we're good as gold.
Hello, hello, everyone, and welcome back to Shenanigans.
Kiki and I are here in the studio.
We've got lots to catch up on.
But first, if you don't already, head to the talk of shame on Instagram and on TikTok, give her a follow
and make sure to tune in to Sirius XM's reality checked every Monday and her weekly pop crime
podcast, which I was actually telling some people about this weekend.
One of my girlfriends loves pop culture.
She loves true crime.
I'm like, oh, do I have the podcast for you?
I love it.
I love your little marketing guru. So we were like going through all your episodes and stuff. And she was like,
okay, can you ask her if she's ever talked about this? And she's like going into like
serial killers and all this. I was like, I'm not sure, but I'll find out. But I'm like,
here's a good new podcast for you. So how was your weekend? It was pretty good. I mean,
I don't really feel like I did anything. I just stayed in. Yeah. That is a nice weekend. That is
nice. Yesterday I did that. Well, we flew back from across the country,
but then we stayed in and had a pool party. Okay. Cause you were in London before. So I was in
London last week. Okay. I got back on Saturday. No, Sunday, Monday. I don't know. Saturday.
The week's all blunt. Yeah. Cause I think I went like midweek. So yeah,
I got back on Saturday. And then I was here for a few days. And then Brock and I flew to
Orlando on Friday. Okay. And Saturday, it was such a crazy experience for me. So I accepted
the illumination award from the International OCD foundation. It was this big conference that they had, which now that I know what it's about, I want to go for the entire
length of the conference next year. It's going to be in Chicago, but it was so incredible. Like
I felt like I was mentally just not super strong when I was there. I was so emotional because everything was so
heartfelt that I cried like six times before I even did my speech on Saturday.
People coming up to me, just thanking me for sharing my story. I had teenagers like
it was so incredible. Did you learn things about OCD that you didn't know before?
I learned some terms that I was like, wait, what is ERP?
And I'm like, oh, it's exposure response prevention.
But I'm like, OK, exposure therapy.
But there were just like there's CBT, cognitive behavioral therapy, and then ERP.
And people were throwing out all these letters and terms.
And I'm like, what is this?
So I'm like sitting there.
Brock and I are taking notes.
But it was really great.
We went to a few different seminars.
And one of them was don't let OCD be the third wheel in your relationship. Okay. And that
one was so good for him because he's hearing other people stand up, ask questions, share their
stories. And he's like, oh, okay. I get it a little more now. because I think he is the type of person where he is
an extremely supportive husband.
But when it comes to certain things that he maybe doesn't understand, he just kind of
feels like it's like, we'll just get over it sort of way.
You know, it's like, well, if that causes anxiety, then don't do it.
And it's like, he can be a little harsh at times.
anxiety, then don't do it. And it's like, he can be a little harsh at times, but it was so crazy because while we're in this seminar, they were talking about accommodating and he actually got
up and asked a question as well. And it's like, you know, you can't just feed your OCD and
accommodate. And it's, it's kind of like a tough love sort of thing. So as we're listening to all
of this, he's like, well, I actually kind of already do that. I'm like, yeah, but you kind of do it in an
assholey type of way. So it was really great for him to just get a better understanding of
what goes on inside my brain to hear all of these other people. And then I had what was supposed to
be a five minute speech, but they told me they go, we're all here to hear what you have to say.
Take your time. Do not rush through it. There is no time limit. me they go, we're all here to hear what you have to say.
Take your time. Do not rush through it. There is no time limit. There's no music we're going to play if your speech is getting too long. And Brock's like, honey, that was like 10 minutes.
And I'm like, oh my God, I'm sorry. And they're like, no, no, it was great. Cause it was as I'm
up there, there was just a little bit of improv that I did and something popped in my mind that I brought up
and it was really great. It was like the biggest honor I think I've ever received. You know,
we're nominated for an Emmy and as incredible as that would be to get, this was an award so
personal to me for who I am as a person. Yeah. And for what I think is, you know,
sometimes not the best parts of me.
It's something that I struggle with every day.
And so to be recognized for that and get to give a speech to a room of,
I think there were like 1,200 people there,
all who get it.
Yeah.
It was incredible.
And I love that Brock was there learning too,
because, you know, when you like,
you know, I dated an alcoholic.
When you date an alcoholic,
you know, they expect you to kind of go to Al-Anon because you have to
know how. But other sort of disorders, people don't generally they're just like, OK, well,
you go to therapy, you deal with it. And it's like, no, but if you want to be in a relationship
with me, you also have to know how to deal with someone who has. Yeah, totally. So it was really
great. I wish that my mom could have been there as well because she has OCD, too. But I'm like
next year we're all going to Chicago, the whole family. There will be some that maybe Brock and my mom
go to together. And I have summer one that I go to with my mom. We can go to different ones, but
they had so much to do there for the kids. And it was just a really great experience.
Does the OCD community get annoyed when, you know, people just say like throw off flippantly,
like, oh my God, I have such OCD? Or is it because I don't think that a lot of people tend to get diagnosed. They wouldn't
even know where to go to get diagnosed. Right. I don't know, because there's I was thinking about
that, too, where I said, you know, just growing up, I'm always like, oh, you know, God, I'm so
OCD. And I know how people can just throw those terms around lightly or there's a whole like
tick tock thing about, oh, my God, my intrusrusive thoughts and it's like that's not an intrusive thought yeah so i feel like it's just finally
getting talked about more that people are getting a better understanding for it like for example
when we were in palm springs i was with the band a few weeks ago we did a little riding camp
and they were helping me just set up the backyard hose off and whatnot and Kevin goes
my intrusive thought right now is to squirt you with the hose and I go it's not an intrusive
thought that's just you being a dick and I fell back because I think I made him feel stupid for a
second but he was like I know it's like no I was like Kevin that's not an intrusive thought and
then I started to explain and then Lando like we relate on the mental health stuff and that was
like how him and I first clicked it was like oh you suffer from this me too me too and so he I
think now understands like oh I use that term incorrectly yeah and that was what was so great
about this weekend was so many people came up to me and thanked me for correctly talking about OCD
and just putting it out there and not being afraid
because it's not something that people like to talk about.
They're afraid.
It's like there's so much shame around the thoughts going on in your head.
And you're like, I wouldn't actually do that.
But I see it happening.
And it's a scary place.
No, I would.
I want to learn more about it because I definitely think I struggled with OCD as a kid.
And I think that I just sort of because of just it was so weird. I got myself out of it.
I remember I would do things like I would have to put deodorant on in multiples of eight.
And if I missed the eight, then I have to go to 16 and sometimes just be caked on with deodorant.
It was like in things like that. And I was like, I feel crazy and I'm not going to do this.
I had to teach myself. But I'm like, will it ever come back if I'm stressed?
I notice when I'm stressed, it does kind of rear itself.
Yeah.
And that's part of like the compulsions and the rituals and things like that.
And especially with numbers, that was how I feel like I got finally diagnosed was there
was like the intrusive thoughts and things that I had said.
But then when my therapist asked me, well, how are you with numbers?
I'm like, well, let me tell you, I've only followed 420 people for the last 10 years. The TV volume has
to be on an even number, but the radio volume has to like hit the one tall volume one, because if I
go one over, I'm like, no, no, I have to go there. And there's just so many things that looking back
at when I was a kid and I'm at the grocery store and I only want to hop on the green tiles and
things that you just think like, oh, that's just something a kid does. and I'm at the grocery store and I only want to hop on the green tiles and things that you just think like,
Oh,
that's just something a kid does.
Like I'm walking somewhere downstairs this morning and she was,
wait,
wait,
I want to touch the top of the stairs.
And I'm like,
okay,
it's either you're just being a kid or it's,
you know,
something that maybe will develop into a more serious OCD one day.
But now it's,
I have the tools.
I know what to look out
for. Yeah. And it is genetic. It's something that my mom has. I have summer may have. But
I feel like by the time she grows up, I mean, we're going to be even more educated on. So
it was just such a great place to be surrounded by so much positivity, all supportive. And I feel like I don't get a lot
of that online lately. It was really, really nice in person. Yeah. Sometimes you have to just
encase yourself in a bubble full of positive. Yeah, totally. So I'm like, these are my people.
And this is something that I genuinely struggle with on a daily basis. This is something I am
so passionate about. So I want to
do more work with this foundation. They're doing something in Boston for Mental Health Awareness
Week in October that they're talking about me coming out there for. And then next year,
the conference in Chicago. And they're like, and then when we're in L.A. in like twenty twenty
nine, then you should be the keynote speaker. And that's not like we're going real far ahead.
But I'm like, I am down to be involved in as much of this as I can be because I truly get it.
And all of these people, it was just a really great weekend away.
That's awesome.
Yeah.
So that was good.
But I also heard that this weekend, aside from that, it was National Wing Day.
Well, I think it's today.
Or is it today?
It's Monday.
Okay. Got it. I saw, yeah, I think this morning. Did you post that? Yes. Okay. I didn't know, it was National Wing Day. Well, I think it's today. Or is it today? It's Monday. Okay, got it.
I saw, yeah, I think this morning.
Did you post that?
Yes.
Okay, I didn't know if it was from yesterday or today.
So tell me, where are we going?
What are our favorite wings?
What's the go-to?
I like, I want to go to Barney's Beanery
because that is honestly my favorite wing in LA.
But I don't know if they have deals
because like, you know, they don't need a deal.
It's Barney's.
So I'm like, do I just go to like a wing stop and like get my deal and then just go to Barney's
later and get more wings because you can never have enough wing.
Yeah.
See, Brock is a dry rub wing guy.
He always wants the sauce on the side.
OK, that's fair.
I mean, if I'm eating in the restaurant, I want the sauce on it.
But if I'm having a delivered, definitely sauce on the side.
Yeah.
What's your go to sauce? I think I'm just like a classic buffalo, but I like my wings extra crispy.
I like them. I don't like them when they're the skin isn't, you know, like soggy. I need it. Yeah.
Nice and crisp. That's why I like eating wings in the restaurant. Yeah. I'm a boneless buffalo
wing girl. OK, but have you actually OK, have you had a true boneless wing where they actually take
a wing and take the bones out? Because I haven't had that.
It exists very rarely.
They're just like nuggets.
Exactly.
I feel like it's mostly a chicken tender.
Yeah, right.
And I think I saw somewhere where there was some ruling in some court where boneless wings are allowed to have a certain amount of bone because somebody was suing because I think they had a bone in their boneless wing.
I swear I saw that.
Okay.
Well, there we go.
Well, enjoy your wings.
I will.
Also, this weekend, the Olympics started this past week.
Did you watch any of the opening ceremony?
No.
You know, I'm one of those people.
I don't even like to watch like the first episode of a new show.
Like there's something about like, I don't know, everyone introducing themselves that
makes me like feel awkward and weird. I can't explain it. I like to get into the action.
Yeah. The opening ceremonies is kind of the same where it's like, I don't want to know anything
about leading up. I'm sure ceiling. I'm glad to see you're back on state. I don't care. I don't
want to watch that. I just want to see the gymnastics there. Yes. Which I watched last
night. We'll get into that. But the opening ceremonies, they had so many cool performances.
Just the architecture going down the river.
And there's like streamers flying out and fire.
And there's a lot of cool performances.
I'm like, I'm not a parade girl.
I'm not like, I'm just not that person that likes like ceremonies.
It went from like Les Mis to heavy metal. And it was it was
just a very interesting artistic performance. And then you have the masked guy who has the torch
and he's running through the Louvre and he's like going through just the whole city. And
and then it gets past to Snoop. And I'm like, there's my dude.
Wait, what am I? OK, well, you were hanging out with Snoop when you were in London.
I was.
One of my bucket list items is like,
I want to smoke with Snoop.
Yeah.
Have you gotten to do that?
Yeah.
I do so much.
I do everything.
Yeah, it was a pretty good trip.
We talked about it a little bit last week,
but yeah, got to hang out with the dog.
Yeah, I saw him today.
He was at the skateboarding,
the men's final skateboarding.
That was fun, yeah. Yeah, and then he was at the dog. Yeah, I saw him today. He was at the skateboarding, the men's final skateboarding.
Yeah.
And then he was at the gymnastics last night.
I saw.
But I also saw that a lot of evangelicals were very outraged by the depiction of the Last Supper.
However, the more I've looked into it, it was actually a depiction of the feast of Dionysus,
who was like the Greek god of fertility
and parties and whatnot.
At least that's what I remember from my Greek mythology classes.
But there's people like Candace Cameron, and she was on social media just expressing how
awful it was to deserate the imagery of the Last Supper with drag queens.
Yet it wasn't actually the last
supper yeah i think that christians will find themselves like they will center themselves in
anything in order to make a statement about christianity and that was like i was like i
didn't see it i don't know i so i felt like i couldn't really comment on it but i'm like i'm
sure it wasn't the last supper but yeah, I could see how it looked like that.
And I only saw that part online. The opening ceremonies were like four and a half hours.
I didn't make it to the end of it. But I do remember the first time I met Candace Cameron.
She wasn't very nice. Not a shocker. She was hosting this event with Pandora. It was maybe like season two. It was really early
Vanderpump days. And I was so excited to meet her just growing up, you know, watching Full House.
And she was so dismissive of me. Like it was like I wasn't cool enough or big enough to be hanging
out with her. And I was like, oh, DJ Tanner. Wait, so it was season two. Well, maybe she did know
about you. Maybe she was judging you.
I have a feeling she did know. What event was she hosting that was like, I mean, it just feels like Vanderpump is the opposite of her world. It was at the Automotive Museum on it's like sixth or
Wilshire, like right around there in like Miracle Mile area. I don't remember what it was exactly.
Maybe it was a charity event or something, but Pandora was hosting it with her. And I just remember being so excited to go to the event and
meet her. And she was just like, she does not seem like a pleasant person. She really has ruined like
Full House for me. Like, and it's I just I don't want to watch Fuller House. I don't want to watch
like I didn't want to watch Fuller House either because of that one experience. And I've met so many celebrities and actors in my life and hardly any have ever stood out to me as rude.
She was one.
And there was one time I met Amanda Bynes, which now I'm like, she gets all the grace in the world.
But I was a seat filler at the Teen Choice Awards and I was like 16 and they sat me next to her.
And it was just like, who is this? Like nobody sitting next to her. And it was just like, who is this?
Like nobody sitting next to me.
And I was just like, yeah, she was she was pretty cool.
Yeah.
Oh, totally.
This is like early 2000s, late 90s.
Yeah.
But yeah, I guess early 2000s.
But yeah, I'm like everyone else I've met, like Kim freaking Kardashian, like so nice
and humble and like so many of these
huge A-list celebrities that are so nice and then and the ones with like you know like bible verses in their bio literally that's always what you see the troll accounts they either have no photo it's
just you know the little silhouette or it's a photo of their dog there's always a bible verse
and it's like spread love,
positivity. And I'm like, bitch, did you see what you just commented on my page?
The most horrendous comments I've gotten have been like mother of four or Bible verse or
combo of both. Yeah. My favorite is if they have a public page to go and find a photo of their
children and comment on it and just say that I will pray for your kids that they are never bullied online like their mom does to strangers. I have an entire screenshot
folder of people who have like I've eventually blocked, but I put them in a special folder,
especially if they're public. And I like take screenshots of their whole thing. And it's like
very Steve Buscemi, like keeping track. Got it. OK, so back to the Olympics.
You didn't watch the opening ceremonies, but gymnastics.
What else are your favorite events to watch?
For summer, I really like swimming and I like track and field.
And like this, I didn't know I would get into skateboarding as much as I did, but I love skateboarding.
And they have break dancing this year.
I heard about that.
That's so cool.
No, I love that.
I'm obsessed with gymnastics. And literally last night we're watching the gymnastics and Summer wanted her balance beam that we have put out. And so then she started doing like a little bit.
And I'm like, I will put you in a gymnastics class soon. Oh, it's so fun. Yeah. You were in
gymnastics too? A little bit. I was more in cheer. But then with cheer, I needed to learn how to do the back handsprings.
And so I took some gymnastics.
So you had the foam pit.
Yes.
The foam.
I mean, every kid needs to do the foam pit.
Totally.
So I definitely want to get her into that.
She still is loving doing dance.
And I'm like, I think we can do it all.
We have got five days in the week where we have the classes.
Tuesday right now, she does swim lessons.
But I'm like, we do swim and gymnastics. And if she gets too tired, it's too much. Then we don't do it. We
get rid of one. But yeah, last night just watching the women's gymnastics. God, they're so iconic.
They're so good. They're so good. And like, well, here's the thing about when Olympics is in another
country. I like my sleep schedule gets all screwed up because i don't want to watch the replay i want to see it live yeah so i'm waking up at like 2 a.m i know just to watch
it so i'm just like i hope i know that the women's all-around final is tomorrow so i'm like i hope
it's at a regular time so i'm not like waking up at a weird hour no i want to watch it live too
so it was perfect last night because it was before bedtime. She got to watch a little bit of it. And yeah, swimming.
I love watching the swimming.
Katie Ledecky.
Yeah.
I hope she can, you know, repeat in the 800, 1500 free.
And what else?
We watched a little bit of like the equestrian stuff yesterday,
which Cruz was very zoned in on the horses.
So I was like, okay, it's not,
I'm not really a horse person.
Yeah.
But we had them over for a pool day
and he was just like, horses.
I was like, we are not changing the channel.
We will just wait for the gymnastics.
Yeah.
But yeah, I'm so excited for the next few weeks
just to see all of the events.
It'll be fun.
And I, but like the whole time I'm watching,
I'm thinking, oh my God,
LA is going to have the Olympics here in 2028. Like what is that like what is that i almost want to just like rent my apartment out and go away
because like i'm scared i'm definitely gonna go to some of the events like whatever's happening
at sofi because i have season tickets for the chargers so then we get first dibs on
super bowl olympics like all of that kind of stuff so i definitely definitely want to go swimming. Oh, yeah. Yeah.
I don't know. Yeah. I don't know what they're going to have it so far, but is it going to be
swimming? I think so. I think so. Yeah. Definitely going to go see that. Yeah. Yeah. That'll be
amazing. I know. So excited. OK, we're going to take a quick little break and then we'll be right back. Okay. And now I'm here to talk to you about NYX. This was founded in 2013.
NYX is an intimate apparel company that is reinventing products for real life. Founded
by Joanna Griffiths, NYX is on a mission to empower people everywhere to just live unapologetically
free with innovations like revolutionary leak
proof underwear and super supportive bras that don't use underwires. People everywhere are
making the switch to Knicks. So I got to tell you, since I had a baby and I breastfed for a year,
I don't like to wear bras as much anymore. And especially when I do the underwire,
it's just not comfortable. And so the wireless bras are so soft, so comfy, and I'm obsessed.
For all of my women out there, the leak-proof lines in maternity, swimwear, shapewear, and more,
maternity swimwear, shapewear, and more. NYX has you covered. You can match your leak-proof undies with one of their perfect fit wireless bras. And NYX gives you that extra confidence you need
before and after having a baby, nursing bras, tanks, postpartum care. And you know what? Summer
is here. I think we all know that by now. Millions have switched to
Knicks. You've got to check them out. Go to knix.com and get 15% off with promo code goodasgold.
That's knicks.com code goodasgold for 15% off knix.com.
So now that Brock and I have moved into our, as Summer says, new big house, we had to furnish it.
And my go-to for something in literally almost every room of this house has been Wayfair. It's
like there's no better feeling than loving your home. And Wayfair makes it easy to create a space
where you can relax and unwind no matter the season.
It's the place to shop for everything home from living room seating that fits the whole family
to bedroom finds that can help you cozy up and snuggle in. I got a new bed from Wayfair. I got some accent chairs from Wayfair. I got artwork from Wayfair.
And also, all of our area rugs in this house are from Wayfair and the mirror that I have above
our fireplace. The list goes on and on. Honestly, everywhere I look in my house,
there is something from Wayfair. Wayfair is the go-to destination for everything
home, no matter your style or budget. There's a waiver hood in every zip code brought to life by
everyone who makes their home truly their own with Wayfair. There's a huge selection of home
goods ranging from appliance to, like I said, I got rugs, area rugs, beds, wall art, all of the things that I've got,
literally Wayfair. It's everything you need for your home from living room and outdoor areas to
bedroom, bathroom, and more. Wayfair makes it easy with fast and free shipping, even on the big stuff,
and they'll even help you set it up. It's good to come home when you live in the Waverhood.
you set it up. It's good to come home when you live in the Waverhood. Visit Wayfair.com or download the Wayfair app. That's W-A-Y-F-A-I-R.com. Wayfair. Every style, every home.
Okay, so still in France with the Olympics. I read that France spent $1.5 billion to get that. And here's the thing.
I've always thought it was the river Seine.
It's Seine.
Seine.
Seine, yeah.
River Seine.
Yeah.
I read some of this little book.
What is it?
It's a small world after all.
And I'm like, we went down the river Seine.
I don't know how to say it properly, but that place, you know what I'm talking about.
I don't know how to say it properly, but that place, you know what I'm talking about.
So they spent one point five billion dollars to get it clean so they can hold open water swimming events there during the Olympics.
But that has just, I guess, pissed off a bunch of French citizens who are now purposely polluting it and encouraging literal shit to be thrown into the water.
Why?
I don't know. Why does it make them mad that there's an event and there's clean
water? Yeah. The French are
very just, they can be so
nitpicky, ornery about
just the weirdest thing. Yeah. It's like
they, I guess, ended up being able
to achieve a clean water
rating before the game started
and the mayor of Paris
even went for a swim to show
that it's safe.
You know what's so sad, though?
We're only willing to clean up water for an event and for money.
We won't just clean it because we need clean water.
That is really sad. No, but then they had the heavy rainfall this past week.
So then that led to more contamination where there was high levels of E. coli in the water.
to more contamination where there was high levels of E. coli in the water.
So if the levels don't go down, they have to find like an alternative area to do the open water swimming events.
And the triathlon is probably going to have to cut out swimming.
So it'll just become like a biathlon, I guess.
You know what? Maybe it's karma. It's karma to show like, see, you guys wasted all this money when you should be spending this money over time to always have a clean environment. Right. Because when it rains, it shouldn't like
pollute your water. Right. Because you're brown. Yeah. When it rains, it pours and pollutes.
But in anticipation for this swim, one of the Team USA athletes who knew he was going to likely be
swimming in water that's just, you know, filled with E. coli.
He decided to start exposing himself to E. coli ahead of time to build up his body's tolerance.
So I'm going to let you guess how he did that.
Was he like just eating like that?
Like, how do you find E. coli to expose yourself to?
I guess he stopped washing his hands after he went to the bathroom.
No, please stop.
to expose yourself to.
I guess he stopped washing his hands
after he went to the bathroom.
No, please stop.
It's a moral of the story.
If you're in Paris
and run into like
an open water swimming athlete,
maybe don't shake their hand.
Just do a little elbow.
Yeah.
No, not worth it.
I mean, I don't know.
That's that's some exposure there.
People are willing to do anything
for a gold medal, I guess.
Crazy.
Speaking of gold medals, Simone Biles.
So there was some ESPN commentator controversy a few weeks back.
And ESPN commentators said that Simone should not be considered a top athlete because she's
only relevant for a couple months every four years.
And a top athlete should be constantly present.
And I'm like,
okay, well that kind of pisses me off because maybe they're only paying attention to
Simone,
you know,
during her sport during the Olympics,
but there's this huge community.
I mean like a global community who tunes into gymnastics year round,
you know,
it's not just a once every four years.
That's maybe when it's highlighted more. And I mean, that's evidenced by like the fact if you look at the women's gymnastics team
final this year, there's five different of the six populated continents that are actually
represented. Yeah. No, I mean, that's the thing. Like you don't just go to the Olympics and
qualify at the Olympics. You have to be participating year round in order to qualify. And you guys just aren't paying attention to it. And yeah, it's sad that we only sort of pay, like, oh, World Cup only comes around, you know, but it's like, no, they're playing
all the time.
Right.
Because it's so popular.
That's why we know about it.
Totally.
Gymnasts do the same thing.
It's just not as popular.
I know.
I'm not a big soccer girly.
I have never.
It's mostly because I hate running.
Yeah.
Every time I had to do soccer.
I never played soccer.
I hated it.
I was just like, I'll be the goalie.
Yeah.
I also hated like track and field or anything like that in high school. Anything with running. I hated it. I was just like, I'll be the goalie. Yeah. I also hated like track and field or anything like that in high school.
Anything with running.
I'm like, I hated track and field, but I was like, for some reason I was really good at
shot putt and discus.
And so they forced me to participate.
That was never an option where I went to school.
No, I just, I still, to this day, I'm just like not a cardio girl.
No, cardio sucks.
But that's why I'm going to like in the first wave of the zombie apocalypse.
I know I'm going to die.
If they're fast zombies.
Right.
Yeah.
Oh, I guess that's a possibility.
Yeah.
I'll pray for you.
Yeah.
But with Simone, it's like there's so many things that she's done.
Just define what we thought was possible.
I mean, she has, I think, are there five or maybe six skills named after her?
I was looking at that.
It was like, yeah, it's like it's several.
Yeah.
Named after.
Yeah.
And it's been over a decade.
She's been like top of her field.
I mean, and if she wins, it's crazy.
Yeah.
And if she wins, you know, one more medal, she will basically break the tie with Shannon Miller, who was the most decorated gymnast.
So she'll be so she'll definitely become the most decorated gymnast by the end of this.
See, I already thought she was.
No, she was tied to seven medals.
I was Shannon Miller.
And then if she wins the all around gold, she'll be the first gymnast in history to ever win it
eight years apart you know because in gymnast world yeah you have a very short lifespan no
totally she's doing that is wild it really is and i mean are there any athletes comparable to her
in their own sport because it's like i don't i can't think of anyone as dominant as Simone.
It's like,
I feel like when people come around,
they stand out at that time.
And so I remember them at that time.
You know,
I remember this still here.
Yeah.
She's still here.
And like,
you know,
but I remember like Michael Phelps was like such a big deal.
And I was not,
he was the person that made me want to watch swimming.
I was like,
I don't care about swimming.
I mean,
Ryan Lochte.
Lochte was.
Yeah. I was like, I don't care about swimming. Ryan Lochte. Lochte was. Yeah.
But yeah,
I guess Venus Williams said at the ESPYs,
go ahead and enjoy women's sports like you would any other sport.
And for that.
Hell yeah.
Because I know Flavor Flav even sponsored the US Water Polar women's team.
I know.
I saw that.
No.
So good. All right. I know. I saw that. No, so good.
All right.
One last bit about the Olympics. And I want to bring this up because it kind of connects with everything we're talking about.
But have you seen the logo?
Oh, the Mary J. Blige logo.
It's like a flame.
But then it looks like a woman with this like fierce bob cut.
At first, I thought it was just a coincidence and a little
trick of the eye or whatever but then you see the lips and it's so obvious so i looked it up and
here was the description and i'm bringing this up because after googling i thought it was a
nice message to share the 2024 summer olympics logo combines three main elements, the gold medal, the Olympic flame, and Marianne
into one cohesive design. And I'm probably saying this wrong. I mean, I think of like Marianne from
like Gilligan's Island. But yeah, not Marianne from Gilligan's Island. So if you're from France,
it's like no mystery. But for the rest of us who I was completely unaware, but they said that Marianne is a familiar face in French culture that is omnipresent in day to day life, appearing on stamps and outside every town hall.
That was explained by the IOC. So I guess she's a symbol of the French Republic, represents fraternity, generosity, humanism and sharing, which are some of the same values we find in sport.
and sharing, which are some of the same values we find in sport.
Okay.
Yeah.
She reflects our desire to organize the games for the people in close collaboration with the people.
I appreciate that.
I'm still going to call her Mary J. Blige.
Mary J. Blige.
Mary Ann, Mary J. Blige.
It works.
Yeah.
All right.
Moving on from the Olympics.
I recently saw a TikTok video where a woman was discussing how she refuses to be the primary communicator for her husband's family.
Her view is that she keeps her people informed of their family's happenings and that it's her husband's responsibility to keep his people informed.
to keep his people informed.
So I guess the woman's mother-in-law got upset because she was finding out all of the details
about their pregnancy from the mother-in-law's sister
who saw posts on social media.
I don't know.
But this woman thought that her husband
was keeping his mother informed and he wasn't.
So when the mother-in-law aired her grievance,
her husband said that she should just send updates to his mom.
And it does seem like women tend to be expected to communicate with both families. But I'm like, why is that? Is that
because we're better communicators or because of the societal stereotype of, you know, just that
women's are the caretaker in the family? I mean, I do think it's because women are considered better communicators because,
you know,
if you told Brock something and where it would get to,
I don't think the story would end up way different.
It wouldn't have as much detail.
Yeah.
And I don't know,
women just like the detail.
And most people,
even though men don't want to explain the detail,
they do want to know,
like they at least want to have it.
I think communicate to them, they'll retain some of it they at least want to have it I think communicated to them.
They'll retain some of it. Yeah.
So I think it just goes down to that. And honestly,
like as the woman, I want to be the one that
communicates because I just feel like you're not
going to get it right. That's true.
Yeah, I can see that. I agree.
I do think we're better communicators. Which is why
like it's so obvious that
women should be running the country.
Right. Because like we can communicate
with all but for some reason men think that we don't have the ability but they're gonna find out
come november i know okay we're gonna take one more quick little break and we'll be right back
all right warmer sunnier days are calling it is time to fuel up for them with Factor's no prep,

And now say hello to your IRL makeup filter in a bottle. Yes, I'm coming to you again to talk to you about the new CoverGirl Simply Ageless Skin Perfector Essence because it's literally all I
have been wearing on my skin for so many months now. The great thing about this and what's really cool is it's a skincare
makeup hybrid. So it makes your skin look plump, refreshed. And the best part is it makes you look
more youthful. As someone who is constantly in the desert back and forth between Palm Springs,
goes to Vegas, my skin tends to dry out a lot. And that's what I love about this is it leaves
my skin hydrated for up to 24 hours. And they do that using micro droplet technology. So it's this
refreshing formula that provides an instant burst of hydration and it legit lasts for up to 24 hours.
How it works is the pigmented capsules burst and blend and give you a sheer
even tint while reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Something that, you know,
when you're me pushing 40, you need, and it's something that you won't find in any other
drugstore brand. It's like you could compare this to a $70 brand. Glowing and radiant looking skin
is only a pump away. The adaptable shades can be worn alone or as a primer under your favorite
foundation. And that's what I usually do if I'm wearing it for a night out. I add a little
foundation and boom, full coverage. After two weeks of use, it improves your complexions,
radiance, skin texture, suppleness, and firmness. Only from Easy Breezy Beautiful Cover Girl.
Okay, so going still on the topic of women's roles in a family and whatnot, I saw you've been
posting a lot about the trad wives and the ballerina farm story. So I started to catch up
a little bit on that this morning
after seeing your content. I'm going to delve into this a little more because my mom was talking to
me about it. I'm like, hold on. She calls me this morning. I'm in the middle of watching this video
and I'm like, mom, she's like, you're always too busy for me. I'm like, I'm trying to look into
this more because I was like, Kiki's been posting about it. I need to know more about the whole story. So Ballerina Farm, Tradwives,
I was watching some of their YouTube videos
and Q&As and stuff this morning
to try and just get a better understanding.
But I want you to explain a little bit about this to me.
Yeah, I mean, I feel like Tradwives
just started popping up in my feed like randomly.
And I would see these women, you know,
making stuff from scratch scratch which I will say
like as someone who enjoys like organization porn right like I can get why people would want to see
it because making you know an entire cake even from scratch is like whoa how do you do that yeah
I would watch it every once in a while but it doesn't it it's not my material I don't have a
family or at least kids and a husband and all of that so it's like not material. I don't have a family or at least kids and a husband and all of that. So it's
like, not necessarily like I don't relate to it. So I didn't keep up with it that much. But then
this article comes out in the Times UK where this journalist was out, able to go to Ballerina Farm.
And it was the first time we kind of saw behind the scenes of like what she was up to. And I became so fascinated because,
you know,
this woman,
you know,
first of all,
she came from,
she did come from a Mormon family.
She was like the eighth of nine children.
Right.
Yeah.
But she ended up getting a full scholarship to Juilliard.
Now,
you know,
Juilliard to get into that school at all is impossible,
but to get a full ride means like you're going to be the next like swan, whatever you call
like, you know, exactly
like you have to be good. But she
meets this guy who happens to be
the son of a billionaire. His dad
founded JetBlue.
Oh, okay. So
I didn't know that. I saw her
parents had a flower
shop or whatever. She was like, oh, but we both
you know, they were both startups.
Yeah.
JetBlue was a startup?
No, like his family is like billionaires.
Gotcha.
And so he met her and just like instantly fell in love.
She wanted to date for like a year.
She wanted to finish school and all of that.
And he was like, that's not going to work.
We need to get married.
So like a month after they meet, they get married.
And like two months later, she's pregnant.
She was like the first person in like modern history of Juilliard to like be pregnant in Juilliard.
So she pretty much, you know, had to give up her career of dancing and she goes on to have
eight children with them. And now she makes content on TikTok where it's just showing
their life. And I think a lot of people are very fascinated because it looks very,
look, there's something very comforting about this idea of living on a ranch, like this big ranch with all of your kids and, you know, going to milk the cows.
Yeah, that's Brock's dream.
And everything's like aesthetically pleasing.
Yeah, it feels really good.
But like I think a lot of like, you know, women stay at home moms, you know, working moms, stay at home moms were kind of like this is not attainable in any way, shape or form. Like you have to be completely like rich and have to have so much help in order
to do this kind of things. But what's so interesting about it is like we call these
women trad wives, which, by the way, Ballerina Farm does not consider herself a trad wife,
even though she's been given by definition. Yeah. Queen of the trad wives. But what's so
interesting is a traditional wife in the 1950s would never have a career.
Right.
Never be bringing money in for the household.
She wouldn't have anything in her name.
Whereas like these women are fueling, you know, the revenue for their, you know, they're
making content.
They're bringing in, I'm sure, all sorts of brand deals.
And so it's it's really fascinating to me.
But I'm I don't relate to it. And I also
part of me just feels, you know, look, I'm a feminist. So whatever you want to do, I want you
to do. If you want to be a stay at home mom, I want you to be a stay at home mom. If you want to
like be a cat lady like me, be a cat lady, do whatever you want. I just want to know that is
what you want. And a lot of people tend to feel that she gave up her dancing career to kind of
live this. But at the same time, she came from a Mormon family. This is what she want. And a lot of people tend to feel that she gave up her dancing career to kind of live this.
But at the same time,
she came from a Mormon family.
This is what she also knows.
So maybe it is what she wanted.
Yeah.
No, it's very interesting.
I mean, she was a professional ballerina
and then they start this farm
and now they're like selling meat
and doing all of this
and just homeschooling her kids.
And so she so she doesn't have a nanny, but they do homeschool.
And that is the one apparently the husband will allow her to have someone to teach.
But he doesn't want nannies in the home.
I think people were really thrown off in the article by the husband because he was he seemed
very hovering.
Right.
He wouldn't let her kind of be alone with the journalist.
And like the journalist kept trying to get her alone.
And like she was like, are you OK?
Blank twice. You're OK. She said he kept trying to get her alone. And like she was like, are you OK? Blink twice if you're OK.
She said he kept interrupting and answering for her.
And so like when she got a little bit of time alone, that was when she asked, like, is this what you wanted for your life?
And she was like, you know, no, I was going to be a ballerina.
I was a really good ballerina.
And people keep replaying that on TikTok.
They're like, she was a good ballerina.
You know, and him, I feel like he's sort of playing rancher.
He grew up this rich kid in Connecticut.
Yeah.
And he always like this idea of Yellowstone.
Like everyone loves this like Yellowstone life.
Because again, I want to go and meet a cowboy.
I want to meet, you know, my Cole Hauser.
Yeah.
But I think he kind of, you know, wanted to find the perfect girl who's like a pageant queen.
Because again, that was the whole thing that went viral for a lot of people.
Twelve days after giving birth, she was on stage in a beauty pageant you know and it's like it's just sort of this idea of like eight kids you got one you know
still like suckling on your boob you got six inch heels you're on a stage in a bathing suit it just
it all felt very like you know and in a way it like, are you indoctrinating people into this life
without even realizing it? Like, yes, you can live this life. Yeah. But the people who are
going to choose this life, they're not going to they don't have a thirty one thousand dollar stove
and La Cruzette pots and all. Yeah. They're going to be just literally taking care of kids. Yeah.
I saw the backlash was, you know, just making other women feel inadequate, you know, can't have it all and just selling kind of an unattainable lifestyle.
Yeah.
Very interesting.
It is interesting because I mean, look, at the end of the day, again, it's aesthetically pleasing.
You know, we watch the NARS Smith.
I had to stop watching NARS, though, when she started making bubble gum from scratch.
Oh, yeah.
Like Coca-Cola from scratch.
Girl, you didn't have Cocaca-cola in your home to
get with stop they kind of like asmr it is it's like you know it's just like watching and like
seeing like how do you even find something from scratch that's right you know not practical yeah
yeah interesting well to each their own Good luck to the ballerina farm.
Okay, I've got a couple more topics to wrap this up.
I saw this other story last week of a woman who was found stuck to her toilet.
Wait, what? Yeah.
Apparently, she had been sitting there for two years.
What?
Her body had conformed like around the toilet seat.
She was alive?
Doctor said that she'll likely never be able to walk again,
but her boyfriend had been bringing her food
during that time
and she would eat, sleep and live on that toilet
for like all of that time.
Oh my God.
First of all, how does that happen and why?
And then like, why did the boyfriend never get help or do this?
I mean, you'd think after a couple hours.
After a day, I mean, you'd be concerned.
No.
So I don't I don't understand.
This is another recent niche into TikTok that I've found by accident.
There's apparently people called feeders.
It is like a thing. People get into There's apparently people called feeders. It is like a
thing. People get into relationships and they want to feed people. And because I think it came up
recently because one of these, you know, people mukbang accounts like they like died on camera.
Yeah. And then apparently they find partners who become feeders. And I don't I haven't done a deep dive I feel like this is
like a pop crime episode in the making but like yeah I think it's like he she probably that was
probably their thing is what I'm saying is like it's not an accident she was there for two years
like he probably put her in that position and that's just the relationship they have and it's
creepy it's like a a CSI episode.
No, literally.
Yeah.
I mean, Brock can spend some time on the toilet, you know, and it's like, how much time is too much time?
I mean, I feel like men do that more.
It's like, oh, I'm in my office, you know, I'm scrolling.
I'm on TikTok.
I'm doing my emails.
And I'm like, how are you still sitting there?
It's not comfortable.
I do it. I'm like literally an hour later. I've like made three posts.
Two years.
That's crazy.
I don't.
Yeah, it's crazy. It's mental illness.
Yeah.
Yeah.
When I started reading this, I thought they were going to say like two hours, two days.
No, that's crazy.
Wild.
I don't even want to know what that bathroom smells like.
I mean, I would assume he's flushing, but you never know.
Oh, my gosh.
OK, last thing I want to talk about is Hello Kitty.
Oh, my God.
So in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Hello Kitty, the creator, Sanrio, recently
revealed that Hello Kitty is not a cat,
that she's a little girl who lives in London.
She has whiskers, okay?
And I've seen there was like controversy
and then I think maybe she backpedaled
or something on it.
I've seen posts everywhere.
Max Boyens did this whole TikTok,
like Instagram story about it.
And he was like, I'm angry about this.
Like she has whiskers.
And I'm like, you're right.
She does have whiskers.
And ears on top of her head.
What do you mean?
Hello Kitty is not a cat.
Yeah.
So what do we think about this?
No, she's a cat.
She's a cat.
And like, I get it, right?
Rage, rage clicking.
It'll draw more attention to her.
She's a cat.
And I don't care if she has a pet cat because it doesn't,
who are all her friends?
It doesn't make any sort of sense.
I mean, Pluto is a pet dog,
but then Goofy's also a dog.
Yeah.
And I don't know what the problem is with her.
And someone even said
she was supposed to be like a British girl.
Right.
But she apparently has an American accent.
So that doesn't even make sense.
I mean, yeah.
Like how many little girls have whiskers
and are like five apples tall? Yeah. I mean, yeah. Like how many little girls have whiskers and are like five apples tall?
Yeah.
I mean, five apples tall weighs, you know, three, three apples.
Look, girls can have whiskers.
I will say that.
So is Karopi not a frog?
You know, I don't know who Karopi is.
I haven't gotten into it.
It was like all of the Hello Kitty.
And then it was my favorite was the little dog.
I think it was Pachaco, maybe.
But there was like a whole family of them.
The store in Azusa across the street from where I grew up had like, it was Sanrio Surprises.
And it was all of that stuff.
So I collected all of them.
It was like a big part of my childhood.
And then you're going to come out and say that Hello Kitty is not a cat?
No.
Excuse me.
Yeah, she has no mouth.
Like, it doesn't make any sense.
Literally.
But anyway,
