Starting point is 00:00:00 From Vanderpump Rules to Vegas and everywhere in between, it's time to party with Sheena Shea. This is Shenanigans. And now, here's your host, Sheena Shea. Hello everyone, thanks for listening. We are podcasting from quarantine again, but today I have my boyfriend back co-hosting with me. What's going on? Hey.
Starting point is 00:00:46 Oh, hey. How are you? You didn't do it every time when we do a podcast you always like ask the people how they're doing But then there's no one there because I learned my lesson I'm not like I learned. Yeah. Okay. Well, I'm excited because today For the first time on my podcast, we're going to have Raquel. And James has done my podcast before, but I've never had them together. And Raquel's never done my show. My squad buddies. Yes.
Starting point is 00:01:13 So, give me one sec. The squad is here. Now, in case you guys don't know when I mention squad, or maybe you do. Wait, I didn't. Hi, guys. You on? Hey, Sheena. Hey. Hello, hello. What up that. Hi, guys. You on? Hey, Sheena. Hey.
Starting point is 00:01:25 Hello, hello. What up? What's up? What's up? So we kind of have your whole squad here. So right before you guys came on, he was just saying, oh, my squad, my squad. So explain. Fortnite.
Starting point is 00:01:39 That's totally a Fortnite reference. Yeah. But I'm not on the squad. The fourth person is Brett Kapp, but he didn't need to be on this podcast. You're on our squad today. You're our squad supporter, you know? Okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:53 We all need cheerleaders in life, and I think you can support me. Awesome. Support my video game addiction. I'll do the leading and the cheers, and then you guys are the squad. Sweet. There you go, babe. Perfect. So how has quarantine life, guys, been?
Starting point is 00:02:07 Quarantine life has been pretty... Productive for James. Productive for me because I've got a home studio now where I make my music. And, you know, for me, life just make... I just want to make sure I eat, work out, shower, make music. James will literally spend hours in our home studio, hours in one room looking at his computer, making music,
Starting point is 00:02:31 and I'm literally going stir crazy. I have the same surroundings every single day. I'm losing my mind. But James somehow is thriving. See, and I feel like Brock is kind of like that way too I mean I'm see and that's another thing I want to ask you guys is the difference of being in a house in an apartment in quarantine because like here we definitely have more space he can go in the garage and do his workouts and his videos you got the pool over there the sunny skies yeah over here it's like been
Starting point is 00:03:02 raining and you know we've got a little like grass area in the back where we take gram for walks which is nice thank god we have that because like i'm thankful we have that but yeah no it is definitely confined space in the apartment definitely jealous of your house in palm springs right once it's safe i'm having a party, like a small, like under like 15 people party, but I'm going to still be out here, um, for my birthday. And I was like, Oh wait, but I can't like have people over. So that's okay. There's bigger problems in the world than my 35th birthday. When you're middle-aged, is that middle-aged? Is that what we're going on about? I feel like it is. It sounded like you just sounded middle-aged when you said that one, babe. Come on, put more pep in Is that middle age? Is that what we're going on about? I feel like it is.
Starting point is 00:03:47 You sounded like you just sounded middle age when you said that one, babe. Come on, put more pep in there. You've got plenty in front of you. No, 35 was kind of a big deal for me. But, I mean, my birthday, I always make it a big deal. But 35, I was like, I feel like this is one last reason to have a big celebration until 40. Babe, we're pumping to 20. We've got plenty more. We've got five years to party between now and then.
Starting point is 00:04:04 Anyway. All right. I turn 21 next week, so we can party the 20. We've got plenty more. We've got five years to party between now and then. Anyway. All right. I turn 21 next week, so we can party that one. Shut up. Oh, my. Oh, my. So is there anything in quarantine life that you guys have, like, learned about each other? They're, like, mannerisms or pet peeves that, like, you maybe didn't notice that you do
Starting point is 00:04:20 now that you're together, like, 24-7? For me, no. But what do you think, Rika? I'm shocked. I thought James would have a whole list of pet peeves from me by now. Well, no. It's like sometimes I get upset that the dishes aren't done,
Starting point is 00:04:36 but like honestly. After he cooks? Yeah, like okay, so I'll wake up in the morning and like dishes are in the sink, so I'll put those away, then I make breakfast, and then there's more dishes in the sink, so it's like okay, so I'll wake up in the morning and, like, dishes in the sink. So I'll put those away, then I make breakfast. And then there's more dishes in the sink. So it's like, okay, so I'll put those away. And we're going through dishes.
Starting point is 00:04:49 And tonight it's dinner time. We're going through dishes constantly. Constantly. We're always out of silverware somehow. Because we're cooking every single night. I went and got paper plates. And that's not a thing. Because when I'm cooking, like, a filet mignon and asparagus and mashed potatoes,
Starting point is 00:05:04 I'm not putting that on a fucking paper plate. Wait, you're cooking filet mignon over there? Yeah, yeah, yeah. You did that here for me. Yeah, you're right. I just feel like I'm thinking of like confined spaces. I feel like I'm thinking of your guys' location and where you live
Starting point is 00:05:19 and I'm just thinking like a cell block and you're just there with your paper plates. No, it's not anymore. No, we love our apartment. Like, you know, we've got a beautiful view of Hollywood and I see the hills every day and, you know, I'm very thankful for it. And, you know, the kitchen we have, I definitely make do. I'm quite the chef.
Starting point is 00:05:37 So, you know, I'm cooking up steaks. We got chicken night, fish, salmon. We got it all going. And actually my cooking skills have gotten better because I've been forced to cook every day. And I know we should be like... His cooking skills were already fantastic. It's getting better now, though, people.
Starting point is 00:05:53 He's great. Yeah. He is so good in the kitchen. Brock makes, like... I don't even know how he just, like, creates these things, like, from nothing. I'm like, what? But, so...
Starting point is 00:06:03 Yeah, he just made... Oh, wait. I made crepes the other day, right? Yeah, what but so yeah he just made oh wait um i made crepes the other day right yeah yeah you just made those oh yeah those crepes at coachella i was like that's not the other day because we're back at coachella weekend already yeah but on the vlog yeah um i think we talked about the youtube one yeah if not i mean i talked about it when i talked to raquel last night anyway Anyway, okay, so one thing, well, I want to mention one thing to Raquel, and then I want to get into a big thing about James with your sobriety. But I just have to say, Raquel, watching the show this season,
Starting point is 00:06:36 I mean, every season, I was telling Brock this the other night when we were watching, I said, Raquel is by far the prettiest girl who's ever been on Vanderpump Rules. Facts. But I just want to say, like, from, you've been on for like what, four years now? And there is just every season you have always kind of like, same with me where we can tend to be on the outside at times. But you've always just been such a strong person and you really stand up for yourself. When I feel like people like mistake your kindness for weakness and I just literally love so much like watching you stand up to Lala because it's like a Lala or a Stassi with
Starting point is 00:07:12 like nice girls like us like it can be hard to speak our mind and I just wanted to say I admire you for that and I actually like that's one of the things when I was watching the scene with you and Lala I was like I felt like I kind of have lost that the last few years and I've just become even more passive and I'm just like, oh, whatever. I let them walk all over me. And then I see you and I'm like, fuck yeah. I love that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:32 I definitely think, I think like that's your compassion and your kindness is actually a strength as well. Like, so like. I'm learning that. I'm learning that. You can stand by your way. Like, well, actually by me not changing my ways and proving and by just doing the same thing that's the strength in a character and it's just kind
Starting point is 00:07:50 of like it really speaks wonders for what you've actually what you've done for yourself so well done thank you i really appreciate that because in reality tv in that world a lot of it is um what's the word you are sorry what am i trying to say um sorry mic issue i think in the reality world you're constantly expected to be so so spectrum so all over the place and so like you're expected to react in a in a large way like in a large way. And that's not me. Over the top and. That isn't me. Right. So now, like, I am realizing that it is okay to be, like, the kind girl that's compassionate with other people. Yeah. And that's who I am and I don't have to change that.
Starting point is 00:08:35 Totally. But I just, I love seeing that when she's like, oh, I'm going to remind you of your place. And you're like, oh, we're having a conversation. And I was just like, yeah, girl. I'm pretty sure at that point I was outside with danica going through her shit because i was like wait i do not remember this happening i was like that had to have been around the same time but but just how long have you been on the show you said four years four years how long's
Starting point is 00:08:58 lala been on the show for same i think she's been on it one year so I feel like I think it was like a big one the biggest one for me on that one is you can't and actually someone said it the other day too
Starting point is 00:09:11 like I feel like women need to empower the women like uplift each other you can't turn around and try and be better than somebody else same as
Starting point is 00:09:17 and that's just the characteristics so I think Lala responded to you and I think she also responded to Sheena about like she reflected on her
Starting point is 00:09:24 actions as well. But yeah, that's my input on that one. I just wanted to say that before we get into too much of that, because I just think it's really good and relatable for so many people to see that the nice girls do still have a backbone. And I hate when people call you dumb. It really pisses me off. I'm like, remind everyone what you have a degree in as so few of us on the show have degrees. I have a degree in kinesiology
Starting point is 00:09:52 and an emphasis in occupational therapy. Yeah, she's smart, people. Can you look at my knee after this? I've been in quarantine. I need to go to the doctor or something like that, but maybe you could check it out for me. I think it's like LCL, MCL. We don't know. We'll figure that bad boy out. I've been in quarantine. I need to go to the doctor or something like that. But maybe you could check it out for me. I think it's like LCL, MCL. We don't know.
Starting point is 00:10:06 We'll figure that bad boy out. I've been doing workouts on it and just stopping halfway through and just yelling at my clients. Keep going with a bung leg. Okay. One of the biggest things that I really wanted to talk to you about, James, is how proud I am of your sobriety. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:10:23 How many months has it been now? Ten months. Amazing. So we have two more months for a year. Well done. Two more months for a year. Yeah, June 5th it'll be. So I'm excited for that.
Starting point is 00:10:33 Yes. Feeling good, feeling good. You know, this last ten months have been an absolute blessing for me and I've rediscovered so many things about myself. I've rediscovered DJing and my passion for music and I've come to terms of what I want to do with my life and how I want to do it and you know I thank God that Raquel stuck with me until this moment because I feel like I've been sleeping up until the last 10 months of my life and it's just it's a crazy awakening for me you know i take things in differently and i'm just
Starting point is 00:11:05 blessed to be here and i'm just so excited for the future and what it holds one year's a lot i grew up i grew up with um addictions in my family now a lot so my sisters i mean i've seen her go in and out but she's she's crushing she's on 15 years and so i think personally for me growing up i learned my lessons from my brothers and sisters so i owe a lot of that to it and i know that they've struggled so i could just from going up with that bro i well done one coming up one year i mean i'm not the biggest social drinker either like yeah it's a fun fun habit with your friend group you guys have like it's always a drinking hand i'm like why does it have to be a drinking hand like but it's so comfortable
Starting point is 00:11:43 right like when you go to a club i walk around and like i'm down to have a i'll get i'll have a water or red bull in canada but it's like i i still feel awkward sometimes in a group settings when i don't have an alcohol beverage in my hand yeah yeah and there was a moment of that for me when i first quit like you know i'm still djing i never took time off touring so it's like for me you know i was still around all of it. And there was awkward moments. Like, everyone's doing shots, you know, like, in hotel rooms. Or, you know, whatever.
Starting point is 00:12:09 Like, you know, and it's like, oh, yeah, I'm not doing that right now. And, you know, at first you have to deal with, like, the first week, two weeks of denial of people around you. Like, oh, you didn't do it. Come on, James, what the fuck are you doing? You know, and then you get through that. And then it's like, oh, he's being serious. Come on, James. What the fuck are you doing?
Starting point is 00:12:24 And then you get through that, and then it's like, oh, he's being serious. And then you start kind of like in the clubs when I was DJing. People do shots and stuff like that. You've got to say no. And sometimes you seem like the party pooper, but people soon realize that you're not the party pooper. As soon as I get on stage and I start doing what I do, the fucking room turns up, and it's time to go. It's time to go. And I'm sweating probably most out of anyone in the room because i'm fucking out here doing work you know and you
Starting point is 00:12:51 know when i get off stage i feel this exhilarating feeling that i can't describe it's like i'm high but i'm not you know it's like what the fuck did i just do i'm all these people were looking at me they want photos and i'm playing my music and you. And, you know, it really is just something I didn't see before. You know, because I was masking it with this numbness that alcohol gave me. You know, I wasn't seeing what was truly around me. But now I see. And it's a blessing, you know. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:16 Well, I just wanted to say that I'm very proud of you. I've seen such a change. Whenever, like, I get asked in interviews and they're like, oh, who do you think's changed the most? I think they're always expecting it to be like, oh, like, Lala or Stassi, or someone who's become worse since the show. But I'm like, if I really think about it, I think James has changed the most,
Starting point is 00:13:35 and in a positive way. Thank you. I really appreciate that. You know, looking back now on the show and watching me go ham. I saw we were watching Bravo and Vanderpump Rules reruns
Starting point is 00:13:50 were playing and I saw your episode your wedding episode I saw it on the TV and I was like oh my god James Sheena's getting married it was so funny I watched the whole episode and then I saw James drunk,
Starting point is 00:14:07 his drunk interactions with everyone, especially Kristen. I was like, oh, man. I'm like, I'm so proud of you. Like, I see such growth in him, and it's really for the best. Yeah. Yeah, it is really for the best. And, you know, yeah, I enjoy life way more now. That's awesome. Yeah. Yeah, it is really for the best. And, you know, yeah, I enjoy life way more now. That's awesome.
Starting point is 00:14:26 Good. At Sour Grapes wants to know... Sour Grapes. I don't like my grapes. So there's like a two-part question from two different fans.
Starting point is 00:14:37 So Sour Grapes wants to know what are some positive changes in your relationship? And then at Salvador22DA. Salvador22DA.NTE wants to know, is the sex really better when sober?
Starting point is 00:14:53 Yeah. Yeah. The sex is better sober. And I think. We spend a lot more quality time together. Quality time at home. That's what that was. I'm not worried about where the night's going to go
Starting point is 00:15:11 if we do go out. It's always a constant... Yeah, it used to be like, I'm not going home yet. I'm not going home yet. I'm not going home yet. Okay, now I'll go home. But I'm ready to go whenever she wants to go now
Starting point is 00:15:23 because I'm not looking for that final destination of getting fucked up. I think, yeah, and then exactly take that, but look at the success that comes from that, what you get in rewards for that. Oh, so much. I get home, we get in bed nice, and I wake up refreshed, ready to go
Starting point is 00:15:40 take on another beautiful day. It's a blessing, and I'm thankful for that. And work's been taking off too. I've been DJ djing more than ever now that we've been stuck in quarantine i've got a whole ep that i'm about to drop called jungle of light and i'm super excited about it it's going to be released on all major platforms and you know i'm just doing this for all the people raquel did my um studio up real nice for my birthday and i call it the neon jungle and in our apartment i've seen that i've seen that yeah yeah i do my live streams and stuff so this music has just been created out of that so
Starting point is 00:16:11 jungle of light here we go rachel do you want to help me i gotta do sheena's room for her kind of surprised but to kind of have her input so she knows what's going on we're turning her whole bedroom into a podcasting and youtube studio. Yeah, once quarantine's over, I have the second bedroom at my apartment completely gutted right now. And I just ordered a neon It's All Happening sign. And I want to just kind of start transferring everything more to at home. I have a YouTube studio, podcast studio. That's really cool. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:43 I love that. That's such a great idea. If you have the space for that, it's such a good investment because now you take everything. It's a space dedicated to your work. You look so much more professional. Like even my little studio now I do my live streams and we've got this tripod that like fits perfectly on the table and I'm just like,
Starting point is 00:16:59 damn, this looks sick. Thanks Raquel. Dope. Um, speaking of all that Raquel, I think you should start a YouTube channel. I have been wanting to start a YouTube channel ever since YouTube was a thing. Like in middle school, I wanted to start one.
Starting point is 00:17:17 But I don't know. I'm like, I overthink it too much. I'm a perfectionist. I'm going to take way too long editing videos. But like now that we're in quarantine, I really don't have an excuse. So if I really did want to make a YouTube channel, now would be the time, right? Exactly. And I have an amazing person who can also edit videos.
Starting point is 00:17:38 I mean, I only post once, sometimes twice a week. Get someone to edit them for you. But yeah. What the fuck? Genius. Genius. You mean hire someone to do a job that to edit them for you. But yeah. What the fuck? And genius. Genius. You can hire someone to do a job that's qualified for. Right, right.
Starting point is 00:17:49 But no, seriously, because the majority of questions, a lot of people wanted to ask about James's sobriety and your like beauty tips and tricks. Really? And I just feel like there are so many like beauty videos that you could do. But also like what I'm doing is just like a lot of the stuff that people don't get to see. Just the two of you at home together. And like all of these moments that you get chopped up versions of.
Starting point is 00:18:13 But like I just, I don't know. I think you would thrive on YouTube. If I made a YouTube channel, it would be definitely makeup. Like glam makeup, everyday makeup. I learned how to do my makeup through YouTube yeah we talked about this through Brett's ex-girlfriend yeah through Carly Bible hell yeah I still love her I still watch all her videos yeah so I feel like that would be really fun to do and then like of course around the house behind the scenes I would I would have loved to do like
Starting point is 00:18:41 a video of me redoing James' office into his studio room. But right now we ordered a few rugs and we're amping up our home space because we're spending so much time at home. Yeah. That would be fun to film something like that. Because I love interior design stuff. I love decorating. I love that.
Starting point is 00:19:01 Well, then, yeah. Help us out. Yeah. I mean, I think a good one for the YouTube, what I really enjoy about it is a, it just gives us a platform, but again, like things that people don't know about you guys,
Starting point is 00:19:11 like for like, for Shina and I, that's a great way for us to express this little thing. So let's go. If we would go a YouTube channel, what would be some things that people don't know about you? Well, you know,
Starting point is 00:19:22 there's a lot to me that people don't know about. Okay. Help me out because I mean, I'm'm new to this i would do it like i would do james in the kitchen segment you know i feel like me just talking with the accent cooking up them steaks talking about my sausage a little paprika a little bit of salt pepper you know i'll get down with that and then i'd like to do some studio session stuff like show people how i make music how i start songs you know creativity like where does it come from like i've got a lot of it and i just want to put it out there that's awesome so that's what i would do rical what about you um interior design stuff beauty stuff that's cool i don't know i'm down i want to get a
Starting point is 00:19:59 construction interior fucking gaming show we're ready to go look at those channels that's a good that's a good spectrum of audience right there. You'll be right. Yeah, we're just casting. We're doing it all. Who's your audience?
Starting point is 00:20:10 The world. Who's your audience, bro? You're going to shorten your audience? Go for it. There's a YouTube channel where this woman teaches our cat how to pee
Starting point is 00:20:18 in a toilet and it's only dedicated to that. What? Does the cat pee in the toilet? Yeah, like, it's a thing. Like, there's this cat thing that goes on top of the toilet keep talking i'm looking at this there's this my friend's literally doing it right now you should train your cat he sends me videos i can't teach these cats to come back there's a good woman that has like a hundred thousand subscribers just from
Starting point is 00:20:37 showing people how their cat can pee in the toilet over like a couple months yeah interesting do they poop in the toilet as well guys i was disturbed by this whole story my friend sent it to me like yesterday that's why i'm talking about it that's like some meet the parents shit like jinxie or whatever their cat's name is oh yeah yeah that's where it came from but that's a real thing guys look it up it's called like oh wait i just came up with how to how to a toilet. I got to put cat in front of it. Yeah. Oh. Raquel. That would be a good.
Starting point is 00:21:10 When you were growing up in Southern California, did you see yourself on a reality show one day? Absolutely not. No. Even though I was nominated most likely to be on America's Next Top Model in junior high school. That's a little. I get nominated back in the end. Yeah. That's Next Top Model in junior high school. Hell yeah. That's a little – I get nominated back in then. So I guess it's like along those lines.
Starting point is 00:21:27 Yeah. That's good. I love that. America's Next Top Model. I knew I wanted to live in L.A. I just didn't see myself on a reality TV show at all. Yeah. Another question that came in, a lot of people wanted to know
Starting point is 00:21:40 if you're still going to do pageants. Oh, my gosh. I've been going back and forth about competing again. I age out when I'm 27. So I have two more years. Yeah. Um, but yeah, I always get that pageant bug. It always bites me because I don't know. I have such a growth associated with my pageantry because i it pushes me out of my comfort zone yeah and i love doing it but i feel like i'm at the point now where i really do know who i am and what i stand for as a person and it took me a long time to develop that for myself so i feel like i would go into it stronger than ever so maybe i will compete again we'll see well if you
Starting point is 00:22:25 do i want to be there okay side note i'm teaching these cats to pee in toilets oh my god i just started watching the video and i'm very interested and if i can teach these cats to stop walking in the litter box and tracking it through the house i'm so down to teach these cats how to pee in a toilet anyways let's move on to more exciting topics. You can watch that YouTube video, honey. I'll catch up later. Yeah. What are you
Starting point is 00:22:54 doing over there? He just started watching one of these cat videos. I don't know. Tricks. Anyway, okay. So. Yeah, they suck you in. That's why they got so many fucking subscribers. That's why she has so many subscribers. That's it, babe. We're going to put that on your next channel.
Starting point is 00:23:08 Boom. Yeah, I'm telling you. Cats. Hashtag cats. You got a million people. Actually, Elf, one of your first trending videos on your TikTok, honey. What did well? Brock taking Selma on a leash.
Starting point is 00:23:19 Is it? It was me as a cat. I bet. It just trended. I was like, ooh. And then I put one video up. Was he shirtless? Is that why? Yes. Oh, my God. You were. I don't have clothes on. Whatever. That just trended. I was like, ooh. And then I put one video up. Was he shirtless? Is that what?
Starting point is 00:23:25 Yes. Oh, my God. You were. I don't have clothes on. That's probably why. So I have to ask Raquel, what, because I know a couple days ago you did Lala's podcast, and I've been asking you for two years to do my podcast, and you knew if you did hers you had to do mine.
Starting point is 00:23:45 But you should have done mine first. Because I asked you first. I know. I know. What made you change your mind for both of us? I mean, we're both getting you in the same week. I feel so special. You are very special.
Starting point is 00:23:54 You guys are both very lucky girls. Because I didn't want to do a podcast at all. But here I am. I don't know. I guess because Vanderpumpump rule what's happening with vanderpump rules i feel like now is a good time to i don't know just speak up represent the brand yeah represent myself and i'm not afraid to address things yeah um and i love you. So of course I'm going to do your podcast. Well, thanks. I know I was trying to, so it was like two seasons ago on the bachelor, honey.
Starting point is 00:24:31 Um, one of the girls on there is like a pageant queen and Raquel and I, like, she was like our favorite on the show. And I was like, okay. I was like, well, Raquel, what if I can get her on the podcast? Will you co-host with me? Cause I wasn't a tricker into doing the show, but fun homegirl never got back to me and it didn't happen but this is so much for so long well how about you how about once we get out of this you come check out the new studio that you're gonna have me put together and then maybe you guys can maybe you guys might
Starting point is 00:24:56 be able to work on something together who knows just saying yeah out there rachel's looking at looking at the camera right now. She's giving me the head shake. No, I'm in. I'm in. She's in. We need more human interaction. Yeah. Okay. A lot of, I touched on this before, but a lot of people want to know,
Starting point is 00:25:16 do you have a specific skincare, beauty routine, and also your hair? Like, please tell everyone. Is it all really yours? It's not all really my hair. Thank, please tell everyone, is it all really yours? It's not all really my hair. Thank God. It's not. I have tape and extensions from Hot Heads. They are the bomb.
Starting point is 00:25:33 And my hairstylist, Barb does hair. Oh yeah, she's in my hair. Yes, she's in my hair. When I kicked Dana out of the hair appointment, that was for Barb. She owns a studio, a salon in Northern California, but she comes down to LA every six weeks specifically
Starting point is 00:25:47 to do my hair because she loves me so much and I'm so lucky. And then she'll take other clients that are based in LA. But my hair is naturally long. It's very thin and fine. So having that extra hair creates that volume that I need. Yeah, for sure. sure well it looks amazing and a lot of people wrote in about that i mean i know you have extensions but i don't know if that's like known and it just like makes people with short hair feel better to know like okay it's actually i could have that hair too yes i could buy that straight up when i first met i first met
Starting point is 00:26:23 raquel at bravo not really met, but that was when we hung out. And me and her were sitting at BravoCon. We were sitting on the side. I remember thinking, I was like, is she a supermodel? Like, who is this chick? You look, you always look good. You do your pre-report and you're a really nice person. I was like, is she like Miss America going on over here?
Starting point is 00:26:40 She should be. A little wave and I was like, come with her. I had an option to sit with Randall and Byron, and me and my cat was running around doing our own thing. We were kind of like the misfits that didn't really belong, but it was cool. I loved that. I was so happy you came, though, honey,
Starting point is 00:26:56 because it was like you got to meet everyone, but in the craziest setting, and that was like a big test of like, okay, if you can get through that so early on. You were were thrown in there that was like your first public appearance bravo con like it was pretty cool to see like see people react to you guys even like when you went up on stage with james when he was dj and like i was like i actually just met these people but this is and i was new to your universe like it's a universe like i was new to it and i was like this is dope like i'm into this i was i was front stage when you were doing the splits. You couldn't see me in the crowd.
Starting point is 00:27:28 And then everyone called me thirsty for doing it. I was like, you know what, guys? I'm thirsty for my missus. It's okay. I just vomited. I don't know if you've seen any of my vlogs, but we had the last one that we did did it just reminded me when he did that i just left the camera rolling for a while because he's always like we have so many of these good
Starting point is 00:27:52 moments that we don't catch because it's like we're like okay i need to film my makeup for the vlog or film this and it's like you just miss those moments so we just like set up the camera and it was last tuesday when i realized i was like oh the show's on and i was just like set up the camera and it was last Tuesday when I realized I was like oh the show's on and I was just like really sad about it and we got a really cute moment so if you guys haven't seen my vlog just check it out because that's like the most like real stuff and that's what I think you guys should do YouTube too because you just get to capture those moments that you don't always see when it's the summer and well, you convinced me. I'm going to start up my YouTube channel right now. Okay, so how was it doing Lala's podcast?
Starting point is 00:28:31 A lot of people have been saying that she's not genuine, that she's only apologizing to you because she's looking bad and whatnot. And obviously, we all know her way better than the audience. But do you feel after the way she's acted the last few years towards you, do you feel that this is now genuine? And do you see a friendship blossoming? I do think it's genuine. I think, well, we've been in touch.
Starting point is 00:29:08 genuine I think um well we've been in touch she's we've called each other and spoken um because those last two episodes were really tough on both of us and after viewing it you know she reached out to me because she was like I have a pit in my stomach I really don't feel good about this and I felt the exact same way she said the same to me so. So I'm okay. Yeah. So we were on the same page together and she over the phone, she apologized to me and it was very, very sincere. Um, and I feel like, you know, who am I to not forgive this woman? You know, she, she's obviously going through a lot, and her personality is huge. And I'm a forgiving person, and I'm ready to put all of this behind us for real. And I do see a friendship blossoming between us.
Starting point is 00:30:04 That makes me feel happy, too, because I know she's reached out to several of us recently and there were some things I said on my last episode of my podcast and I was like I am genuinely hurt by some of the things she said but I'm like I'm not gonna text about it I'm not good like I want to like sit down and like have a real conversation in person I don't do that the reunion or like anything I'm like because everyone's like if that bothers you then why don't like anything. I'm like, cause everyone's like, if that bothers you, then why don't you say something? I'm like, I just want to like, we've known each other long enough. I want to wait until I see her in person. But I think the word of the podcast got back to her because she also reached out to me and said she had a pit in her stomach for how she had been acting towards me. And I was like, I really, really appreciate that. And like,
Starting point is 00:30:41 that was all I wanted. Just acknowledge that you've been a dick because like we've never given her any reason to act like that so i'm happy that she's coming around and i think it's really genuine this time i think she saw the footage and she was like holy shit did i actually do that yeah yeah so i think yeah i think it it was a wake-up call for her and I think we're all on the same page now good and I mean especially with James and her working on music together it's good that like you guys can all like genuinely be in a good place and I love that that's the thing I love about our show and our group of friends is like we can really go at each other but like there is so much love there that it's like we always figure it out but then someone else isn't figuring it out so it stays entertaining but i love when we like have
Starting point is 00:31:29 these moments because it's just like it's so much harder to not get along with someone to me like it takes energy for me to be a bitch to go it's just like it's not natural for me so i'm i'm happy that you guys are in a better place yeah for real Brock wanted to know oh yeah how'd you guys meet tell us that actually Lala actually asked me that on her podcast
Starting point is 00:31:58 and I went into an in depth story I know the story no I know the story. I went down the rabbit hole. No, I know the story, but I know he had asked me before and I was like, I'm just going to let them tell it. We met at Pump when I was DJing.
Starting point is 00:32:15 That's good. Why is that a rabbit hole? James should tell this story. Everyone was dressed. I told my side of the story to Lala's podcast. So let's hear James' side of the story. Okay.
Starting point is 00:32:27 So Raquel's sitting at table seven right next to the DJ booth. And obviously I noticed her because I was like, wow, this really pretty girl sitting right over here with her family. And I wanted to meet her. But she comes up to me and she asked me to play Beyonce a couple hours before the countdown went. And, you know, I normally don't take requests but for Raquel I took that request and I played Beyonce like every song I played like 10 songs and he never plays Beyonce he just played a whole album yeah and um did you play single ladies and see if she stood up I think he knew I was single yeah i got that vibe and um i had actually a show after the
Starting point is 00:33:10 countdown on sunset boulevard at this like legendary spot um and it was like an underground rave thing it was super cool and i was djing at that as well so i obviously wanted to get this girl and bring her to my next spot you know so i did that i asked her i asked to like kiss her at midnight and uh she said like yes we like she came over to the dj booth we did that whole thing then i asked her and i took her and a friend to this party yeah it was an amazing i actually lost my cell phone she lost her cell phone at the party right it was new year's eve and i lost my freaking cell phone at this party and didn't realize until the next day.
Starting point is 00:33:48 So then we had a scavenger hunt for that. Oh, my God. I was so lucky. I was so lucky that I found it. So you've got a good – so your anniversary date is New Year's? Yes. Sick. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:59 Same as Tom and Ariana. Really? Yeah. New Year's? That's when they started dating. Nice. Yeah, because remember we did their anniversary dinner with them when we were in toho yeah we went to their steak place yeah awesome
Starting point is 00:34:10 all right good story yeah so where was the medium in this where's the medium between your stories between your two stories um they're pretty similar yeah i feel like he's he's heard me tell this story so many times because I love telling this story. Yeah. I lived it. He lived it. I lived it.
Starting point is 00:34:31 Exactly. There you go. I lived it. I want to do some fan questions and comments. This one that came in, and I knew you would appreciate this, Raquel, at Heaven Essence said, Ask Raquel how it feels to literally be so gorgeous and smart. She is serving Elle Woods to
Starting point is 00:34:45 me oh my god right you I am so flattered thank you at heaven essence at heaven essence yeah I have it written down so much you are so sweet doll I was like oh my god Elle Woods she's gonna love this at Lindsay G Nichols wants to know do you guys feel that you're portrayed differently on the show no i feel like you know obviously you don't see every part of us because you can only show a little bit at a time but i what was the question do you think like you're portrayed differently or do you think like the, what you see that I feel like what you see is. I think so.
Starting point is 00:35:31 Me. I mean, obviously, um, like on Tuesday night's episode, when they asked, when I said, I want a cheeseburger with cheese. Oh yeah. I know. I explained to everyone why I wanted it with cheese, and the reason why is because I get so... You couldn't imagine the times
Starting point is 00:35:52 that I've gotten cheeseburgers without cheese on them. And I don't want a freaking hamburger. I didn't order a hamburger. And I get so upset. What the fuck is that? I get so upset. So I have to specify that there's cheese. Please make sure there's cheese please make sure there's cheese otherwise i'll say a hamburger but can i please get a cheeseburger with cheese yeah yeah so you know you just don't see every single yeah conversation yeah um
Starting point is 00:36:21 did you oh well for me i mean you know i like this, you know, for the first years of the show for me, I just wanted to always like, you know, turn up and be crazy. And I think that, you know, yeah, it's me. Yeah. I think you're still, I think you're still, when people meet me, they're like, oh, I didn't know you were so like, you're so much taller than I thought. I think people picture like this short, scrawny English annoying truck. And you're Irish, man.
Starting point is 00:36:50 You know? And it's not the case. Like, it's not the case. I'm 6'1", all right? 6'1 with hair, bro? What are you talking about? 6'1 with three inches of hair, okay? There's another sweet comment that came in from at Thomas Len said, do they realize how much fan support they've had?
Starting point is 00:37:06 They had last year when they were hanged up on. So there are a lot of people rooting for you guys. Yeah. A lot of positive comments that came in. Have you guys felt the love? I felt the love. And honestly, I don't read like all my DMS.
Starting point is 00:37:20 I just can't do that. But you know, I scroll through sometimes and sometimes I'll read like, you know, the first couple of words. And if I find through sometimes and sometimes I'll read like you know the first couple words and if I find it like thing I'll open it up
Starting point is 00:37:27 and just the messages you guys send me about your story and your sobriety stories really touch my heart and it's those things that keep me going like okay
Starting point is 00:37:34 I'm not going to drink today because something like that happened and it just reminds me you know to stay thankful and blessed I've been feeling the love from people reaching out to me on instagram
Starting point is 00:37:46 finally raquel's being seen for the powerful woman that she is i know i love that it's so ridiculous and i've i've i've always wanted to like say that and speak up but like you know it's it's in these past years i mean you can't say that she's had the best edit and it's just like you know it's tough you know for for her to get her word across and this year i feel like her words getting right across you know i think even more so than me you know like i'm like oh i thought i was on the show i think it comes down to like what we how we started this conversation about like your relationship and and in the reaction that rikawa had to an issue it was it was i'm still going to be the same person i am and and and she stuck to that
Starting point is 00:38:23 and now her character is continually growing so yeah i feel like it's finally paying off being this kind girl because that's what you are and and so i look for i think everyone has seen it and they really see that traction of this stability of a good person so that's cool that we can hang out and you're on my squad yeah i mean for a second there i thought i had to change something about myself i thought i had to change my reactions to make it bigger and like more entertaining but now i'm realizing like i don't have to change anything no shit not at all i think one thing too that i don't know about james actually but i think so that one thing that we all have in common is getting bullied younger as a kid so i think when you know it's like especially we have that
Starting point is 00:39:06 backstory and to see you stand up to a quote-unquote bully is just very empowering for just everyone and yeah i commend you again for that thank you um there were some other questions that came in about the new cast um And did you want to ask one of those? Okay. Because I feel like with the show, first off, how do you guys deal? Do you guys feel excluded and a divide between what's going on on the show right now? Or how do you guys fall into place with everybody? This year, I feel like I have been the least excluded I've ever been if that makes sense I feel like I've been pretty
Starting point is 00:39:48 included in everything I was shocked when Katie invited me to her wine night I was like oh you want me to come yeah I'll be there of course of course I would love to come I don't know I feel like it's been pretty good i i mean i we obviously weren't expecting to go to jackson britney's wedding at all so i feel like we we didn't feel left out yeah in that moment now i feel left out then now that me and jackson are in a good place i wish i was there but you know everything in life happens for a reason yeah if he has to do
Starting point is 00:40:22 a second wedding too maybe i'll be at the wedding if they lose their certificates I think the Schwartz and Katie thing obviously I think they're going to be very happy together and do you think that any of the new cast members come on I feel like coming into your guys friend group
Starting point is 00:40:41 as Raquel could probably contest is very difficult and even you James now you've seen the third wave. Could you say the third wave or even just the new wave of these new cast members coming on? Yeah, I do. Do you think sometimes
Starting point is 00:40:52 you have a conversation and you look at them and you're like, did you just say that to me right now? Like, does that make sense? Do you think there's agendas behind conversations or you generally think that some of these new people
Starting point is 00:41:00 on the show are just generally on the show to say g'day or just want to work at Sur and have fun with the group. Um, I think that everyone's different, you know, and I definitely think that there's some funny stuff that they say, you know,
Starting point is 00:41:12 a Vanderpump rules is a funny show and you know, you catch people with their drugs. You guys keep going, keep going. I think the cast is handling themselves really well, like really fr freaking well. They are immersed in this new environment. They've never filmed in front of a camera crew before.
Starting point is 00:41:31 Yeah. And they're killing it. Like Dana's killing her comedy. Danica's hilarious. Danica's hilarious. That interview bite this week, I died. I must have watched it five times. That's one of the best things I've seen this season.
Starting point is 00:41:46 What did Danica say? She was smacking her lip out. About Leos and Pisces don't match. And she goes, and that's why they have... She's like, trust me, I've dated two Pisces. She goes, and that's why they have Australian orders against me. My two exes both have Australian orders. And then...
Starting point is 00:41:59 And then he was in the background. He was like, wait, what did you say? She's like, well, it's not my problem. It's not my fault. It's not my fault. That's gold. All right, then. At low underscore.
Starting point is 00:42:12 Like the whole like flirting thing between Lisa and Brett and then like the whole Dana's thing to the fat pussy. That's what I was going to ask. That's what I want to know. You guys are ordering a cheeseburger with cheese. Okay. And then someone has. I got a Philly cheesesteak. First off, did you get cheese with your Philly cheesesteak?
Starting point is 00:42:28 Yeah. Did you ask for cheese with your Philly cheesesteak? No. I got a Philly cheesesteak. What? Is that a thing? I've never heard this. First off.
Starting point is 00:42:37 No, I've never heard it. Second off, if it was a thing, how? I don't think it's a thing. I haven't heard it before. I think that they were both pretty buzzed at that point of the dinner. And, you know, whatever it is, like, Dana seems to think it's a thing. I just thought it was just completely inappropriate, and I was just laughing because of it. The shock of it was entertaining.
Starting point is 00:43:01 No, it's funny. It's funny. I mean, come on. How could I not fucking laugh? I mean, she's saying fat pussy yeah lisa vanderpump in the same sentence and like and you know like after watching it was right after like the whole flirt thing between brett and lisa at dana's birthday party and i was just like good god wasn't brett wasn't brett lisa's personal trainer i mean for like two days. Yeah. Come on.
Starting point is 00:43:25 My highlight of that last episode, and I'm new to you guys' show, but watching Ken, Ken's reaction to Lisa was the best. The best. Because he was just like. I'm not jealous of him. He straight up was just like, I'm not jealous of Brett. He's a young man. I'm good.
Starting point is 00:43:44 Ken's that much of a boss and that kind. He's like, woman, I'm not jealous of Brett. He's a young man. I'm good. Ken's that much of a boss and that kind. He's like, woman, you're not doing that. I'm Ken. We're good. I know you wear the pants, but I also wear pants too. Yeah, Ken's such a boss. I love him so much.
Starting point is 00:43:59 Was that date awkward? Atlow underscore loss wants to know if it was as awkward in person as it came across. No. I don't think it was awkward at all. We fun like you know you got your cheese on your cheeseburger i was just hungry and i wanted to fill your cheesesteak so like you know it was like i was focused on the food but it wasn't as awkward as it came off no yeah i just i was like i had never heard the fat pussy thing so didn't know that was the thing. And on that note, thank you guys for finally doing this together. I know. Raquel did a great job.
Starting point is 00:44:28 I love Raquel on podcasts. I want to see more of Raquel on YouTube. I want to see more of Raquel on podcasts. I'm going to put this girl on YouTube shirts. Let's do it. Thanks, babe. Thanks for the support, you guys. It's obviously fun to do it with a friend.
