this is shenanigans and now here's your host, Sheena Shea.
Hello, hello, everyone.
So today we are coming to you from Palm Springs. We've got Brock
and both of his sisters. So get ready for some Aussie Kiwi shenanigans.
I have no idea what I just signed up for. To be honest, I don't know what's going to
be said on this because I cannot control Sheena and I definitely cannot control my sisters.
That's for sure.
And it's been a hot minute,
so this is going to be interesting.
Say hello, girls.
This is Alina, who's my older sister.
Hello.
And then we've got Nicole, who is my two-year-old twin.
Yeah, so you guys have the same birthday.
So what was that like growing up?
What it was like was mom enjoyed Father's Day,
apparently. That's exactly what that sounds like. In Australia, Father's Day is in September.
Well, honey, one could say the same for you, Loving, apparently around August 1st,
because both of your daughters have the same birthday.
What is on August?
I don't know.
It was the day we moved into our house in San Diego.
So that's how I know that's when Summer was conceived.
Wow.
Yeah.
I mean, yeah, we know that.
And clearly winter was as well.
Look at that, mom. We've got a family tradition here.
Yeah.
So, okay.
What was that like as a kid?
So you're two years old and your mom
is now in the hospital having your brother and then every birthday for the rest of your life is
being shared with your little brother was that fun annoying all of the above i feel like for the
first few years it was fun and then it just got annoying because i just had to share everything
actually no we got teenagers and then it became really fun because we got to have like a whole month.
Yeah.
We got like the week before would be Brock's party with his friends
and then the week of would be like family thing
and then the week after would be my party.
But then we became teenagers and we started having the same friends.
So we just had three parties.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Like carnival of.
My 18th birthday is something you'd see in America if it was actually a thing like the Sweet 16.
My 18th birthday was the party.
Gotcha.
And it was the party because it was my friends
and then all of her friends, which were two years older,
who could drink.
We were 18.
Okay, so what's the legal drinking age?
18 in Australia.
Gotcha.
When do you get your driver's license?
You can get your learner's at 14, nine months,
but you cannot drive by yourself.
In Australia, you can get your learner's driver's license
at 14 years and nine months.
Yep.
But you can't drive until you're 16.
Okay.
I was like, wait a second.
No, you know how you do the written test?
Yeah.
Yeah, that.
What were you saying, Alina?
Well, I know someone in New Zealand who he was, you know, 16 going on seven
and he already had his truck license.
Yeah, you can get New Zealand's a lot faster.
You can speed it up if you get the lessons.
Yeah.
You know who took lessons, bro?
Of course I have.
I think we all know the answer to that.
Uh-huh.
Okay, so your 18th birthday.
18th birthday was a thing. so i went to i was very fortunate
enough in my last two years of high school to go to an all boys school and ipswich grandma it has
a spot for me because because of that i got to have this amazing experience in school but then
also had the coolest party because when you go to an all boys school you gotta have a party with
girls and it's kind of like how do you have the girls come to the party with all boys you're all boys you don't really have a good selling chip to
these chicks you're like hey there's a whole bunch of boys you want to hang out like you had to get
a lot of them but we did it because i leveraged my sister's friendships and then and then what we did
is i got my boys to print off business cards. And she helped me set it up. We printed off birthday invitation business card sizes.
And they just handed them out.
And we went to every one of our popular friend girls
and the girls' private schools and just gave them St. Aidan's,
Stuart Home, Ippie Girls Grammar, all the private girls' schools.
Because guess what?
If there's a private boys' school, there's a sister's school.
Oh, for sure.
Yeah.
And so then all of a sudden, my birthday's happening on the party.
I look out.
There is like six girls to one guy at this party.
Yeah, there's so many girls.
And no one's complaining except for the girls.
They all got jibbed.
So all of my rugby boys, all of my friends rocked up.
And I was like, that was the one thing I got with my friends.
They're like, Brock can party.
I was like, yeah.
Thanks, Nikki. Okay, so was like, Brock can party. I was like, ah. Thanks, Nikki.
Okay.
So pre-Brock can party.
I want to know, what was it like for y'all growing up on a farm in New Zealand?
What was Brock like as a kid?
Do you have any embarrassing stories?
We want all of the tea spilled.
Start spilling it.
I'm going to have to kick out.
Oh, he's clumsy.
But he's also adventurous.
Like in Victoria, when we lived in Gagari,
we had the quad bike and we had our cousins over
and Brock decided to go a little bit faster and rolled it.
He didn't roll the quad bike.
Yes, you did.
I knew this was going to happen.
I knew this.
You're going to get my sisters to tell stories of just,
yeah, I remember the quad.
Jai was driving the quad and he flipped it with his girlfriend
and we got in trouble for that.
He was 12.
I don't think he had a girlfriend at 12.
He was the one that flipped the quad.
It's Jai, okay?
He's younger than me and I was 12.
Of course he had a girlfriend at 12.
Oh, yeah, that's true.
He's a ladies' man.
So can we just real quick, honey, we need, yeah,
I need to have a say on some of these stories because I was there
in the paddock with them.
Okay.
But it wasn't you that flipped it.
But Jai was the one that flipped the bike.
He's the one that broke the bike, not me.
I was the one that flipped it up once we rolled it and started it
like an idiot, which broke the bike.
I'm going to go back.
So you did break the bike.
I'm going to go back and be quiet again.
Sorry.
So you grew up on a farm in New Zealand.
You then moved to Australia.
So how old were you all when you moved?
I would have been 11.
Okay.
Because it was in 1999.
So I was 11.
Brock would have been 9.
And you would have been 13 at the start, Elena?
The very first time?
It was 1999.
Yeah, I was born in 84.
I got my tax file number in Australia in 1998.
Because I came prior.
Oh, yeah, you came earlier.
I came before you to get the house set up.
Yeah.
So how different was it going from a farm in New Zealand to Queensland?
So how different was it going from a farm in New Zealand to Queensland?
We were only in Queensland temporarily while the farm situation was getting sorted.
So we stayed with family.
It was hot. Very short term.
It was hot.
It was really hot.
Yeah.
We were all dying and, like, getting headaches.
And, yeah, it wasn't fun.
But then we moved down to Victoria not long after.
What are you talking about?
It was pretty cool.
It was cool, but it was hot.
Well, we also from
New Zealand.
Our initial set up was in Queensland.
So before we moved out to the farm
in Victoria, we were in Queensland, which was great because
I don't know if you guys remember, you guys got annual
passes and the school bus used to stop
at the theme parks. Yeah, where do I
want to go? That was the problem. That's exactly
my problem
that I had with education growing up.
It was on the route to school was education and a good life.
And out the window was entertainment at my fingertips.
So a little different.
It got me.
It definitely got me.
I was really good at the Aqua 8 racer.
I used to enter all the competitions.
I used to go out there and put soap in my pockets from the toilets and then fly down it was like a slip inside like it's a it's a slide
like the one like eight people wide and you all race to the one it's an aqua race and you race
down so you win prizes and you win prizes so when i used to enter the competitions i used to go to
the toilet and like put the dish hand soap of course you pockets walk up there and then when i sit down and
get ready you'll feel the you'll feel you fill your mat up with water and you splash your pockets
and it shoots down all the stuff down your slide and did you win of course i won i put soap in my
pockets i knew what was up oh bro
so from australia now to america alina this is your first time in the states what was your first
reaction well we landed in LA and I walked through and there's freaking like slot machines right
there oh in Vegas yeah it's just the blur everything from just everything is bigger yeah everything's bigger
better like it's it's so I don't even know it's like in the movies like when we when we went to
Vegas I did not expect everything to be like 50 stories high like and like all the buses because
you've never really you've never you haven't traveled wherever you traveled Alina oh just
South Pacific just keeping it local yeah just like and
so when you go when you go to america and you get off and you go to vegas so literally they
flew into lax we had one night in la and then the next day we flew to vegas for the vanderpump
paris cocktail garden opening so that was just like la i mean you got a little taste of it you
saw hollywood that night but then boom to Vegas
yeah
again another reference for everybody
we're in LA
this is the difference in culture here
in Australia drugs are bad
also all illegal
yeah
weed is legal here
in America it's very different
very open.
And to be honest, I think they're better conversations to have.
But I digress.
We won't get stuck into that.
Back to the relationship.
So that is one of the things that is most different in America
is you walk on the street and people are blowing weed smoke in your face.
What else would you say is one of the biggest differences
you've seen since being out here?
I don't know if it's just the places you've been taking me to but everyone's so friendly everyone and it's just like i don't
you know meeting summer in her favorite movie everywhere i go everyone goes you're welcome
like we don't we say you're welcome but you guys say you're welcome it's because it's because there's a song in it now
because of that show that movie moana is summer's current obsession she wants to watch it every day
she will go up and grab the apple tv remote and hand it to me and look at me like you know what
you need to do yo put it on but just everything like you know i was looking at the bathroom.
When I flushed the toilet, I'm like, wow, that's different.
Does it go a different way?
Does it really go a different way?
I don't know if it goes a different way,
but the water doesn't come from around the top of the bowl.
It just shoots from underneath.
Yeah, you guys have a different system altogether.
I love that when my family comes over, especially my sister Alina,
her comparisons and like real world thing is like the mechanical aspect
of our plumbing system.
And then when we drive it on the road, she's like, why does that car need to have two rear
axles?
I don't understand why it's so big.
Like what's, this is what gets, and that's my sister right there.
And then the postman pack cars.
Oh my God, they're so cool.
Can we address that America?
Can we ask you that question?
My sister brings up a valid one.
And I just thought, I was like, I just scratched it up too.
It's America.
But why do we still have like UPS vans that are just like bricks, right?
That look like they're made out of like aluminum.
And then you've got the postman car.
Why is the postman car like that?
Is there a functional purpose for it being shaped like that?
I have no clue, but I just want to point out,
I don't know if you ladies just noticed, but he said aluminum.
Yeah, I did.
He's so American.
I know. It's aluminium i quit i quit i quit time you come home i mean even i say aluminium sometimes
i said aluminum yeah you did i'm done
okay so we mentioned summer so both of you and your mom, unfortunately,
have not been able to travel here.
We haven't been able to go there.
You haven't been able to meet her other than on a FaceTime.
So what was that moment like for you both to meet your niece
for the first time?
It was so amazing.
We didn't want to overwhelm her because there's like three randoms
up on her grill and we're like, we know who you are.
You don't know us so we tried to like take a step back but she's the sweetest cutest little thing yeah like coming in like uh you know just prior to her first birthday she's already done
like so much growth like so many firsts that we missed out on but you know just to be here in
present time like there's so many firsts that we still get to experience with her.
Yeah.
So, like I'm really so grateful that like the restrictions
and that were lifted and we were able to make it here.
And she is adorable.
Like I think I had like a bit of fear that, you know,
what if it's too late?
Like what if she's already got her type five?
No.
But no, she loves me.
Literally, you are so good with her.
Like every morning, Alina refuses to sleep on a bed or an air mattress or anywhere.
She wants to sleep on the couch so she can be the first one to see Summer when she wakes up.
She's Summer Hog.
She also doesn't want to sleep in the room with the rhinoceros.
Well, that's me.
Snoring away.
No, but literally,
like,
you're so good with her.
She has her little plane buddy
and it's going to be
so sad next week
when Summer wakes up
in the morning
and comes downstairs
and Alina's not on the couch
waiting for her.
Well,
then I have to just
double time it
in my morning shift.
Exactly.
Yeah,
but you're,
I got you,
sis.
Yeah,
but you,
just speaking of kids,
I don't know
if either of you are looking to expand a family
anytime soon, but I think you are both so amazing with your niece. I know if you do choose to have
kids, you would both make amazing mothers. And my next question is, as you're both in your 30s,
have you ever thought about checking your fertility levels uh it's been a minute we
don't really have to do it very often in australia so it's kind of okay whenever you feel like doing
it yeah and normally it's yeah really something you think about daily yeah wait you can check it
no so in america i mean i i see it's different around the world. I mean, I know you guys have free health care.
Like we don't have free health care.
I pay a fucking arm and leg for that.
I'm still a resident.
I'm not a citizen of Australia yet.
Gotcha.
Interesting.
I get a lot of perks.
Okay.
So, I mean, we're supposed to go to the OB once a year for annual checkups,
but checking your fertility isn't something that you always do unless you're ready for
kids.
So a lot of women, ever since I froze my eggs and I really just took my fertility into my
own hands and spoke about it publicly, so many women are like, wow, I never thought
to do that.
So this is something that is called Modern Fertility that I got that I wanted to tell
you about while you're here.
If you want to pick up a kit, it's amazing. So modern fertility is an easy and affordable way that you can test
your fertility hormones at home with just a simple finger prick. You mail it in with a prepaid label
and you'll get your personalized results within 10 days. So it's great just to get like insight
into your hormone levels, like your ovarian reserve,
how many eggs you have compared to like with your age. Like I found out I have a very low egg count
and I didn't know that until I tested my fertility levels. And now it's been a couple of years since
I froze my eggs. Now I'm like, okay, well I'm going to take the modern fertility test,
check my levels again, because after getting
help syndrome and everything, I don't know that I want to get pregnant again naturally. But if I do,
I want to be prepared. So these results go deep into what every hormone means. You can also talk
one-on-one with a fertility nurse to review your results and options for your next steps. So
just letting you ladies know traditional testing with
your doctor in America can cost over like a thousand dollars, but modern fertility gets you
the same info at $159, which is a fraction of the price. And if you go to modernfertility.com
slash B M B, you can get $20 off your test. So if you want kids today, or maybe one day in the
future, just clinically sound info
about your body can help you make the decision that's right for you. And right now, my listeners,
Modern Fertility is offering you $20 off the test when you go to modernfertility.com slash shea.
That means your test will cost $139 instead of the hundreds or thousands it could cost you at
a doctor's office. So get $20 off your fertility test when you go to modernfertility.com slash shea.
And again, that's modernfertility.com slash shea.
So just a little thing in case you wanted to check that and, you know, have babies when you go home.
Yeah, exactly.
Especially cute little ones like Summer.
Right?
I was just focusing on that discount code.
Yeah.
I was like, I better say davy soon well once we change my name legally after we get married but here's the problem with davies
even for example at coachella when i go to pick up our neon carnival wristbands i go I just want to double check because I had a friend put us on the list with a friend.
I want to double check that Brock Davies is on there.
And they go, we have a Brock Davis.
And they're like close enough.
But that's the problem.
It's like you would think it's such a basic last name that you can't fuck it up.
Did you just call our last name basic?
Davies.
I'm joking.
It is like one of the most popular names.
But people always say Davies.
Yeah, but people don't know how to spell Jones.
They don't know how to spell Davies.
What are they?
It's like when you say Aaron with an E.
You have to emphasize.
You've got to be like Davies.
Well, yeah.
I mean, I'm one of those people, so it's okay.
When people think they're right, they think they're right.
They're not going to question themselves.
Well, then I am one of those people.
We know.
going to question them well then i am one of those people okay so it's been how long since you all four of you your mom brock alina nicole since all four of you sat down in a room together
it would have been when brock came home for the rugby sevens okay so in 2019 you did see alina
so i didn't meet you when i was out there. I met Nicole. I met your mom.
But okay, so you guys did all see each other then.
Yeah, we all flew down to Sydney and surprised,
well, some of them surprised Brock.
He didn't know some people were coming.
But we all flew down and supported him at the Rugby 7.
So that was cute.
Yeah.
Went to Airbnb and all caught up and Brock came in
and hung out with us after the game and stuff.
So that was cool.
Okay.
So what was it like now this time post-pandemic new baby for you guys to all sit down together in a room I think opening emotion when we come out the doors would explain that yeah it was I mean
I'm gonna post the video on Patreon soon you guys so if you're not subscribed subscribe and you can
see the surprise of when Brock so let me just tell the story and then go into your reaction
because Brock knew his mom was coming, but he had no idea that not just one, but both of his
sisters were coming as well. So I'm in on the surprise. Obviously everyone else is except Brock,
even our neighbors. And I'm just like, please, no one blow this.
And it was so hard every time I had to say, you know, like, oh, and your mom, not when they get here, whatever.
Like, don't speak in plurals.
So we get to the apartment in L.A.
My parents picked everyone up at the airport.
We drive up from San Diego and Brock walks in.
He sees his mom.
That was obviously very emotional.
But then we give it about a minute.
I think I did like an intro video because I wanted to like talk to you guys about this and like so i tried to vlog
it and i was like yeah i'm just i don't know what to i'm just excited to get up here yeah to see my
mom and brock sees his mom and then about a minute later we have nicole walk out and it was just
another loss of emotion and then another minute later alina comes out and he's just like, oh, my God.
But I was like, there's no one else behind the revolving door.
No one else is coming out.
This is it.
So what was it like for all of you to have that moment in the last, you know, week and a half that you've been here?
Well, we're family, you know, so the bond's always there.
But it's different.
Like you can only see him through a screen, you know.
You can only hear like a recorded voice.
Yeah.
You can't touch him.
You can't hug him.
It's been nice.
It's been really emotional.
It's been nice.
Nice to see him in person and to like see you guys together.
Oh, I know.
Everyone, even mom over in the corner hiding.
I mean, Lena said it, like we're family.
And even though Nicole can just say one thing,
it just pushes me straight away off the edge.
Why are you going to go there?
Because that's the bonds that family have, you know.
And even growing up, we've been separated at times.
But then we've always, like, look, we always just get to come back
because of that.
So I'm very blessed for that.
And so to have you guys here and then, I mean,
the situation where I am in my life, I'm in the best place I've ever been. And you blessed for that. And so to have you guys here and then, I mean, the situation where I am in my life,
I'm in the best place I've ever been.
And you guys see that.
And so it was great to share that with you guys.
Yeah.
No, it has.
Yeah.
Well, I have fully enjoyed having you.
And any time I have felt overwhelmed,
I just want to reiterate that has nothing to do with you guys being here.
As Brock knows, I tend to run high on anxiety.
I was raised, as you've now met my mother, and see how, you know, we like to host people.
And so when I found out all three of you were coming, I'm like, wait, shit, we don't have enough beds.
Oh, my God.
And you're like, it's fine.
We'll sleep on the floor.
We'll sleep on an air mattress.
We'll sleep on a couch.
And I'm like, no, I just wanted to have everything perfect for you.
And then once you get here and it's like, okay, well, it's not perfect. But you're like, we'll fend for ourselves. I'm like, that's not how I do things. And I'm like, just let wanted to have everything perfect for you and then once you get here and it's like okay well it's not perfect but you're like we'll fend
for ourselves I'm like that's not how I do things
and I'm like just let go Sheena it's fine
everyone's grown ass adults
but this
has been hard for me to just like let go
and like let you cook breakfast or dinner
or like you know help me clean up because I'm like
no I need to do everything I need to do everything perfect
so I'm like just let it's family
let them help
it's been. Let them help. Accept the help.
It's been good.
I think, I mean, it's funny because you guys,
how has it gone to stagecoach with us?
Like, we live different worlds now.
Can we talk about stagecoach?
Can we talk about last night?
Yeah.
I, oh my God, y'all.
I almost fought a bitch last night wait oh
did you hear the story yet oh my god so we took mom yesterday
like you were a bit quiet yeah i didn't want to wake the baby it was getting heightened. So we're at Stagecoach.
The first day we went,
so Brock, Nicole, and I have gone all three days,
but each day we had an extra wristband.
So the first day, my best friend,
Adrian from high school came.
Second day, Jamie came.
Third night, his mom came.
And we made sure that his mom would have places to sit.
So there's like the park benches
that are not reserved by any means just like the
big benches in like the vip saloon area right so we see an open seat so his mom and sister sit down
and then this guy comes over and he goes just so you know when our wives come back like these are
their seats and his mom's like yeah we'll see about that so these two girls like in their like early to mid-20s come back their wives no no they come
back and they're like those are our seats and i was like okay well we're now sitting here you know
i go oh i'm sorry i didn't realize this table was reserved and they're like yeah we've been here
since 4 p.m i was like okay so you just got here early i said i don't see your name on this table
the table's not reserved well there was also
there was
yeah
we could have avoided
this argument
no but they weren't
even the wives
I understand
it wasn't until after
the wives came back
no we're not avoiding
this argument
don't tell
a woman in her 60s
to get up
out of the table
out of your seat
I agree
so that's where
and then
I stood up
straight away
I stood up
I was like I'll get up
Nicole you stood up with an attitude.
What was the first blow that came out of your mouth?
Excuse me?
How are you and people go at mum?
How did you and escalators go?
Okay.
Escalation go.
What did you say?
Escalators.
You know what I'm saying.
It goes up.
Okay.
So.
No.
Nicole, what did you say to start this off?
Because Sheena has your back after this.
No, she does, and I appreciate it.
Because when it was going down, I just was like –
Nothing was going down at this point.
They asked us to leave.
They didn't ask.
They said those are our seats.
They were rude about it.
They were rude.
But we could have avoided this next argument if you didn't decide to say –
You're being a dick.
Mom, let's go.
This is gross.
And she's like, did you just call me gross?
And then she looks at me and she's like, who the fuck are you?
And I was like, I'm nobody.
This is my mom.
And she's sitting down.
Who the fuck are you?
And then they're like, Sheena, calm down.
It's okay.
Walk away.
Walk away.
And I'm like, no.
I was so fired up. Like season two, Sheena St calm down. It's okay. Walk away. Walk away. And I'm like, no. Like, I was so fired up.
Like, season two, Sheena's Dossie.
I mean, I never seen that season two, but I saw this season.
I mean, maybe season one.
I don't know.
But, like, I was fired up.
So, then, this is the best part.
So, we just, they're like, walk away.
Walk away.
We go to a different table.
Everyone's like, oh, my God.
Here, please.
Sit here.
We'll get up for you.
Roll out the red carpet. And then people start coming up and asking me
for photos. And when she just asked me, who the fuck are you? I'm nobody. Yeah, sure. I'm on a
television show, but I don't care. But so then she comes over to apologize. Like, oh my God,
I'm sorry. I didn't realize you were somebody. And I just dismissed her, like hand to the face.
I said, excuse me, I'm talking to someone please walk away
and then she's like well i was trying to apologize but if you're gonna be fucking rude i'm like i
don't need your apology you were rude to my mom you made her get up get the fuck away now we're
gonna go see luke combs it is and it was so good to see i was like yeah yeah i was like she's a
davies girl now i was like we need to filming. I have some anger I need to release.
Yeah, but that's me and I'm rocking our place because I was just standing there like kind of like –
We're like, Brock, don't get involved.
You're too big.
My sister spoke.
Yeah, I'm like – as we walk, I'm like, don't say that, Nicole.
And they heard it.
The funny part was is that she got upset because I said, no, this is gross.
She thought I called it – I'm like, no.
She didn't call it gross.
You're a dick.
She called it a dick.
I called you a dick. The situation was gross. I picked up on it. I'm like, i said you're a dick listen clearly she had no idea what was going on but apparently if you sit at a table long enough
it's yours which is fine like i get it there's another table but this my mom but it would be
one thing if it was just me and nicole at the table i would say the same thing to two girls if my seats were being saved like hey sorry i was sitting here
and like i got but our mom yeah that was gross and it's hard because like mom yes she did amazing
and she lasted all the way up until like midnight last night but mom has dvt so like she can't stand
for long periods of time or else she starts cramping hardcore. So Brock found a fold-up chair at the bar.
We stole it and we posted mom up at the pool.
We didn't steal it either.
That was also kind of like in lost and found mode.
It was lost by somebody and found by me because it wasn't like put somewhere
like, oh, I'll pick this up later.
It was sitting in the middle of the random space like somebody had already
lost it, found it,
and left it there.
So they lost it again.
And then we just, we did the same thing at the end of the night.
What's this over here?
We left it behind.
Someone else found it.
Exactly.
Yeah, we didn't take it off the premise.
No, no, no, no, no.
We just circled it around our friend.
We just borrowed it.
We left it over at Diplo.
Yeah.
Someone at Diplo got it.
Those girls got it, remember?
Everyone was looking for their chair.
It's a white foldable chair, not like a gaming one.
It was probably a worker's chair, to be honest.
Yeah.
It looked like you finished a shift.
Your mom's first festival.
Not Nicole's, though.
So you've been out here.
You've done Stagecoach before.
Did you also do Coachella?
Yeah.
Okay, fine.
So I did Coachella with a group of girls that I met online
and at the Backpackers I stayed at one year.
Yeah.
And then the last time I came was with Brock.
I was here with Brock in 2018 at Stagecoach.
So that was fun.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Real fun.
And then you do festivals back in Australia though too, right?
Yeah.
Yeah.
So I literally just before coming on this holiday was just at a five day festival with
my girlfriends in Byron Bay.
Wow.
You're an animal.
Animal.
Five days.
Five days. Right? That's You're an animal. Animal. Five days. Five days.
Right?
That's half of Burning Man.
Yeah.
No, it was cool.
Okay.

And now back to your regular scheduled programming of the aussie kiwi family
reunion so all right stage coach we did can we oh my god a shoey have we talked about that on
the podcast yet okay please tell me ladies even summer's over there laughing is the shoey something
that you both have done in your day?
Girls don't do it.
It's for guys.
Okay, it's just for guys.
It's for guys.
It's a gross thing that guys do at private high school
and that stays in boys' land.
So it's specifically a private school type of thing?
It's kind of started there.
Gotcha.
But I think every guy does it now, like every guy.
You wouldn't want to do it with joggers,
so it makes sense like private school boys.
It started there.
Wait, with joggers?
Oh, like sneakers.
Got it.
Joggers are pantsier.
It started in the army.
Really?
Originally.
When the boys started drinking and celebrating their wins.
Okay.
It started back in the day when they were playing in Anzacs.
I don't understand.
That's a lie.
I just made that up.
I'm sorry.
I don't disrespect any of the Anzacs.
Oh my God.
Because I just thought it made sense. I'll have to look into that. We don't disrespect any of the Anzacs. Oh, my God. Because I just thought it made sense.
I will have to look into that.
We don't know where it originated, but it's definitely a boy thing.
I don't understand the point of why you would take a perfectly good drink and take it out of the can or bottle or cup and pour it in a dirty shoe and then drink it out of the shoe.
Because it's not about the fancy tin that comes in or the clean cup or the cold cup.
It's about the blood, sweat, and tears and the celebration that you did to get you there
in those shoes that you're drinking from celebrating the victory.
Whether it be a football game, whether it be a wedding.
Now, when I did it in my confessionals, I was just being an asshole just to show you
that we're pretty cool.
Yeah, but also that day, let's talk about that.
You made sure to bring a brand new pair of shoes that day too.
Not a dirty, sweaty, smelly pair.
Exactly.
It was a phony bear shoe.
I'm apologizing to all my bear drinkers out there when I explained it.
Yes, I get it.
But yeah.
I was showing you guys.
And yeah, maybe I don't wear my suit that much, okay?
Those shoes don't get worn often.
Yes, you are correct. But I've danced a few times in them so they're right they qualify okay i should
probably say there probably is chicks out there that do shoe well i do know there's one one of my
listeners kylie has told me and she's aussie and she told me she's like oh yeah we do shoeys i've
done one with my husband i'm like what yeah wait, what? She was celebrating. Yeah, exactly. Hashtag tag me in your shooies.
It rocks all up for her.
It was literally, actually,
there was just an Australian TV show,
Married at First Sight.
We love that show.
And there was this really young guy.
Wait, there's an Australian version?
Oh, my God.
And he did shooies,
and he is such a young little part.
I forget his name,
but he was,
and everyone gave him shit.
It was so funny.
And he made a guy do a shooie out of his shit. Yeah, and everyone gave him shit it was so funny he made a guy do a shoeie out of his
shoe yeah and everyone's like he he finished the shoeie out of this random guy's shoe
did i tell you something really funny i'm not even australian so this probably pisses him off
even more i'm actually from new zealand so everyone knows that but when uh i forgot what i was gonna
say i got distracted with the water behind us.
A shooey?
Yeah, I'm trying to remember.
Married at first sight.
Oh, Australians get so offended about it.
Australians are straight up like, we don't do shooey's.
That's not what we do.
It's like, bro, if you had any type of childhood,
I promise you one of your friends at a college party did it or a high school party did it.
Not only that, football.
Don't claim it.
Don't pretend you're better than that.
Like football, cricket.
Because there were all these Australians like,
we Australians don't actually do that.
And it's all like the LA Australians.
They probably had a silver spoon.
That are just like fiending in the Aussie accent.
Okay.
I want to also talk about something else
that Alina doesn't do.
Podcasts.
She doesn't listen to them.
She didn't even know what she was doing here.
She was like, I don't know what.
I can't speak on this topic.
What did you say right before we started?
No, I said like, I just want to be straight with you.
And then you gave me this really concerned look.
Like, I just wanted to be honest.
I said, I don't even know what a podcast is.
I was like, wait, say it.
I don't know what I'm meant to do.
Like, I don't, just so you know.
It's just a conversation into a microphone that
tens of thousands of people are going to listen to all over the world
i won't be if it's fine they can't even find me like online because i got she doesn't do social
i love it but one thing alina did do really good since she's been here, you were an awesome Easter bunny.
I just got to give a shout out to that.
So look, we got shit online.
As you saw, I posted about it last week on Instagram.
We got shit that we chose Coachella over our daughter's first Easter.
First of all, I know we've already discussed this,
but it's like Summer didn't know if april 17th or april 29th
or fucking june 12th was easter real quick i i disclaimer for everybody this isn't us going back
and digging up this people are saying just move on from this guy talking shit we just want to make
every everyone know that it's okay to not follow the norm if your family needs to do something
different exactly we're already bringing light to this because of that message not because this decade we're not giving a response no i don't care
about that but i grew up in a family where we do celebrate a lot of holidays on the saturday after
every thanksgiving on the actual day we do friendsgiving now here in palm springs the saturday
after we get our family together christmas saturday after. So we're like, well, you know, we got Coachella on actual Easter,
but Brock's family's coming on Wednesday, so Saturday after.
Let's do a little Easter thing.
We totally copied our friends, Will and Elaine,
who dressed up as the Easter Bunny.
I'm like, we have to do that.
We have to do this.
If I see good parenting skill sets, I'm following it.
Totally.
And I said this to them when they did this.
They've got an amazing journey to becoming parents. parents yeah and the fact that they respect what they have and the gift
that they've been given and they have the time in the world to do whatever they want and they are
just really really good parents and yeah to have their friends party with you and then because
they're family of three they went back they were at their house and this is where we got inspired
by it so will hopped in his suit, jumped in there,
and then like he gave it a 10 out of 10
because I needed to tag my sister in for our outfit.
Yeah, so Brock wasn't the best Easter bunny,
and then Summer was a little scared by the Easter bunny.
I walked up to her like I was her dad, but I wasn't.
I know, and she was like, what is this?
So we're like, maybe we should put Alina in the bunny costume.
And she comes out like, hop, hop, hop.
Hello, Summer.
Like, it was like so cute and so sweet.
Yeah, introductions go a long way.
Yeah, she hugged everybody.
Yeah, then they went on the sand and played together.
And I just, I really, I'm sorry.
I did.
I know you get annoyed when you're like,
it's not about the Instagram or the photo I didn't even end up posting anything I did want a photo of my daughter with the Easter
bunny I don't even know with COVID protocols if they have you know Santa or the Easter bunny at
malls anymore but I was like shit you know like yeah we chose Coachella but then I want to do
something and I want a picture of her with the Easter bunny. I don't care if that's at our house, at a mall, wherever it is.
I want that photo for her book.
And we got it.
Every Christmas, every Easter now going forward, I'll be working on my hop.
Okay?
And I'll work on how to – I'll call my sister up and get some pointers about how to work with people.
Because she came out and she gave everyone the wave.
And she hugged everybody else.
And then went to summer.
And someone was like, oh, you hugged all of my family?
Oh, hey, how are you doing?
For me, I came out, hop, hop, hop.
Hi, honey, how are you?
And it just would have been.
This big, huge bunny in her face.
Switched that and what you think my child just saw
and she'd just be like, what the?
Yeah.
Sounds like that.
But we appreciate it because as Elena said.
Kind of confusing.
Like as Elena said earlier, there's a lot of firsts we've missed out on.
So we very much appreciate.
I know it wasn't like you left it for us, but we were like,
yay, we get to be part of a first.
We get to be here the first time she gets to see it.
Totally.
And I thought that would be awesome.
Also, real quickly, this is one thing mum brought up.
She's like, the best thing you can do – my sister's a fist pumping over here.
Yeah, family.
You know what makes sense, guys?
If you just put Easter off one week, you can go to Target
and get the Clarence rack of chocolate.
Oh, my gosh.
So that's a Greek.
It's a Greek Orthodox.
Greeks celebrate Easter a week later.
Yeah.
Because of that reason?
Yeah.
No.
But they definitely – no, that is not the reason, Brock.
It's just how it falls.
For the discount?
I mean, I'm okay with that.
We need to update your education.
They saved all their money on Easter, mate.
I'm telling you.
When you look at a society that doesn't focus on gizmos and gadgets and they focus on family, religion and like what other growth comes from it?
If you're not putting it there, it goes back in.
I mean, if I could, I would, but I'm not always raising a woman.
Walmart, Easter, discount.
You celebrate a week after.
Alina, what was your first Walmart experience like?
Oh, my God.
Okay, so it started like when we pulled in the car park.
I'm like, sis, got to get a photo of this.
So we got a photo of Alina being the sun.
Yeah, I was like the sun and the Walmart logo.
I was like spreading.
Anyway, I think it's cool.
I don't really care what other people think.
Perfect.
And then we like roll on it.
And it's just aisle after aisle after aisle.
And I looked at it.
I'm like, oh, but I really need a coffee before I hit this.
You know, because we've just been over at like the Home Depot.
Yeah.
She was doing a full tour of America's finest shopping.
Home Depot, Walmart.
Ross's.
Ross's.
Wow.
What's the other one?
Marshall's.
Burlington Coat Factory.
So I'm like, where can I possibly get a coffee before I start this
like giant adventure?
And I look at my, there's a McDonald's in the Walmart.
And an optometrist and a doctor and a nail salon.
We've got it all.
So I'm like cruising the lanes.
I'm thinking I'm being pretty swift about it all, you know,
like just window shopping, like at a pace.
And Brock's ready to go.
And I'm like, yeah, okay.
And then I walk out and I'm like, oh, shit, I pace. And Brock's ready to go. And I'm like, yeah, okay. And then I walk out
and I'm like,
oh shit,
I've only just literally
done the grocery side.
I'm like,
I'm not ready.
So Brock's like,
I'm going to go
where you are.
I just jumped in there.
I was like,
well,
enjoy your experience here.
I'm going to watch
the rugby game in the car.
A quarter of a tank
of gas later
with the air conditioner.
Okay,
so grocery stores out here are quite different.
You were saying them back home.
We don't sell alcohol in Australia.
New Zealand, they do.
But not in Auckland.
Well, not West Auckland.
Well, that's because the local dairies is stock alcohol.
Well, we have bottled those.
In West Auckland, you have to go to like a licensed place.
Yeah, you have to go to a licensed place.
It's like the homicide capital in New Zealand.
And alcohol is the main relation to that one.
They try not to encourage that.
Okay, so I want to talk about also what both of you do for a living.
So, okay, grocery stores are very different out here.
Like the fruits and veggies and stuff.
Do you go to more like farmer's markets?
Like talk about what you do for work, Nicole.
So I work in the Brisbane markets and I work as a produce salesman.
So I sell stock on behalf of growers to everywhere,
like fruit and veggie shops and everything.
When I do shopping, it's mostly at work.
But otherwise I like to support locals.
So I buy all my fruit and veggie from fruit and veggie shops.
But then we do have like the meat shops and then we do have
like your supermarkets.
But that's not like walking around with a trolley or anything.
These are like forklifts and big trucks pulling in and out all day long. Gotcha. We do like the mass quantities. Yeah. So
I didn't know that y'all were going to love going to a grocery store so much. So that's why I was
like, okay, well, for the first week you're here, I'm just going to order a bunch of meals from
Green Chef just to have, you know, the already prepped meals ready to go.
I just thought, you know, we're going to have a lot going on.
I don't want to, again, burden you guys with going to a grocery store,
but I didn't know you were going to love it so much.
So we had to wait until week two to go
because there was already all these meal kits.
Yeah.
Okay.
So I've talked to you guys about Green Chef before.
They are the best meal kits.
And not only are they the best meal kit,
but Green Chef makes cooking easy.
So you can spend less time stressing
and more time enjoying delicious home-cooked meals.
I just thought it would be so much easier
with the family here to do these, you know,
to avoid long lines at the grocery store,
not knowing that they were going to love
standing in those lines at the grocery store, but I personally don't. Green Chef is so convenient
with their pre-portioned, easy to follow recipes that are delivered right to your door. They save
you time by cutting down on weekly meal planning, prepping, and grocery shopping, because I'm just
not a fan of grocery shopping. With Green Chef, you get organic
ingredients and sustainably sourced produce so you can feel great about what you're eating and
how it got to your table. They offer 24 always changing recipes to choose from every week so
you never get bored. Brock and I have been doing these meals ever since I was pregnant. And they're just my favorite. So fresh, so good, and always
something different to choose from. So I'm obsessed with them. The fam loved them.
You guys can go to greenchef.com slash Shea130 and use code Shea130 to get $130 off plus free
shipping. That is greenchef.com slash Shea130 and use code Shea130 to get $130 off plus free shipping. That is greenchef.com slash Shea130 and use code Shea130 to get $130
off plus free shipping. Green Chef is the number one meal kit for eating well.
So yeah, so, but we can do, you know, the Green Chef meals. We ate them, we ran out of them,
and now we can go back to the grocery store and figure out dinner tonight.
You know, we're really excited because like we're going back to San Diego after this afternoon
on summer's nap.
And we're like, okay, so we're going to go to Walmart and we're going to load up.
Yeah.
We're like, because there's no point loading up here.
Right.
So, okay.
Actually, Brock and I have something to ask you.
But before we do that, I'm just going to take a little break because you don't need to hear
about this next one,
but my listeners do. So listeners, let's be honest. Sex is better when everyone is enjoying

I also didn't realize Alina that you're a chef.
Well,
well,
well, yeah, I take the role of a chef. Well. Well. Well, yeah, I take the role of a chef.
Yes.
I take the role basically as a head chef.
Yeah.
At an aged care facility.
So I like to give.
I don't have a lot of like monetary things.
I give my time.
I give my services.
And, you know, I just think like the elderly, like they're there to,
they can't work anymore, you know.
They've done everything they can to put all their love into the world
and it's about time people gave back.
Yeah.
That's why I'm chosen that for a job.
And I just can't leave it.
But unfortunately, well, fortunately for me, some people did leave it.
So the head chef left, the cook left, another cook went on leave
and I stepped up.
Boom.
I'm in, bitches.
You're like, just temporarily and it's been a year.
Yeah.
Yeah, no one else is coming.
No, that's it.
I said, is someone, are you employing anyone?
That's because you're doing too much of a good job.
Since Elena's been gone, they're, like, struggling hardcore.
That's what you were saying.
A lot of complaints because Elena does such an amazing job
and caters for everybody's allergies or preferences or wants and needs.
Yeah, I feel like allergies, that should be one they follow.
But wants and needs would be like, okay, they're Mr. Vegan.
These are beef tacos.
I get that.
I get like the vegan cheese and stuff.
Yeah, I get all that dairy cheese stuff.
Elena even goes down to like every single like not even milk for like any
allergies or anything, but she'll go down to milk and breads
and preferences of juices.
If I notice a resident's getting stock supplied by their family,
hopefully my boss doesn't hear this, just buy it.
It's not my money.
It's their money.
They're putting it in and that's what, you know, we work as a family.
So I just feel like whatever they would normally eat at home,
they should have available at work.
Yeah.
I love that.
And they appreciate you.
And when you get home, I bet they'll be excited to hear about your holiday
but more excited to taste your food again.
Oh, they're sick of eating muffins.
I've already wanged about that.
Elena makes like the old school scones and like slices.
Slices.
Cakes.
All those beautiful homemade meals that you get.
Yeah.
There's boys running the kitchen right now.
So we've got Summer on the sidelines.
Summer on the sidelines, just giving her little laughs.
You want to hop on the pod, honey?
Yeah.
Hi.
Say hi.
So, okay, so you've left work for a couple weeks.
So, okay, so you've left work for a couple weeks.
Now I'm hoping you're going to be able to leave work again for at least, what, a week or two for the wedding.
Yeah, I'm hoping.
The thing is, like, we're still in a pandemic.
Like, in Australia, it's still very much like borderline lockdown.
The AB Omicron variants just sort of come out.
But it's funny, like, because they're like,
oh, no, there's a new case of the AB Omicron variants just sort of come out. But it's funny because they're like, oh, no,
there's a new case of the AB Omicron.
But we don't know if it's transmissible.
But, like, just be on standby.
So I don't know.
I guess we'll see when we go back.
Yeah.
And it's the hardest for Elena's industry because she's in aged care.
So that's like that and hospitals alike.
Yeah.
We just have no staff.
So to have my leave approved, it's, you know,
this just left them with one less staff.
Yeah.
Right.
So.
So, yes, but Ian and I will definitely be at the wedding.
Okay.
Well, I'm just curious if this question that Brock is going to ask you,
Alina, if this will change you being able to make it to the wedding.
Hi.
Well, Alina, would you like to be a part of my groomsmen party?
Yeah.
Oh, Alina's getting emotional.
I love you, mate.
Like what you've done with the family and with yourself
and everything you've overcome.
You guys have shaped me as a man because of how you guys have raised me
from just leading by example.
So I'd love to have you.
I think that's a yes.
I think that's a yes.
They're both bawling their eyes out right now.
Wow.
I feel like that's going to persuade it a lot more now.
Okay.
I'll make it work.
I'll figure it out for you.
And Elena loves a pantsuit.
It just works.
Yes.
My turn.
Yeah.
Nikki, will you be one of my pridesmaids?
Yes. Yes. She said yes. We're all coming. will you be one of my pridesmaids yes
she said yes
we're all coming
perfect because we have a fitting on Friday
oh sugar right
okay
yay
oh my god I have been waiting
we have been waiting to ask both of you but I'm like
we need it on a moment that's recorded
and recorded so
we'll we'll figure it out but we're excited to be part of it that's gonna be so cute thanks guys
oh my god okay I really I really hope we can figure this all out because it wouldn't be
the same without both of you standing up there with us oh thanks guys we get to be in the
so lastly i want to ask y'all if you watched the show last season before we were on it what do
your friends think what do you think i I just want to know it all.
The season with Brock's not been the greatest reception back home.
So, like, Elena and I, a few of my friends watch your show
and they know Brock, so they're like, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Those who haven't watched the show, I haven't really encouraged it
because it's a one-sided story.
Exactly.
But we love Brock and we know the truth
and he probably could have thrown a lot of more people under the bus but he's being a bigger person
he's being a better man and we really appreciate like where he is now and the growth he's had so
yeah it's been it's funny watching his face though and hearing his voice yeah like how weird is that
though for you to just all of a sudden see your brother on television on a show that you had watched in the past. Yeah exactly it was weird. Like did you ever
think one day when you're just sitting at home watching Vanderpump Rules like my brother might
be on that show with that annoying cringeworthy woman. No I didn't quite do that but it's funny
because like I was telling you how mom and I were here in America back in 2019 and we had come and we coincidentally were
here the same week as LA pride parade so mom and I went to the pride parade we're in like all of the
chaos of it yeah and I took a photo of the float with you and Raquel on it and here we are fast
forward a year and a half later so crazy I was like and I met him just a few months after that photo was taken.
So it's like, could you have ever imagined
that girl is going to be carrying my niece?
Never.
Would never have thought it.
Summer wants to be on the podcast.
Yeah, it's definitely crazy to see Brock.
I'm taking care of Summer, guys.
But on that, that's the only reason why when everyone goes,
if you watch the show i
couldn't be like no because i felt like that should have been my answer well it's you didn't
know who i was when you met me it wasn't like you're like that's the girl from the show that
my sister watches you're like yeah i've heard of it i've seen it but i didn't know but then i never
wanted it to be like this well i always talk about it but i I was just like, there's that photo that you have of these. Oh, darling.
The photo you have of these two and the parade, so that's funny.
Summer, do you agree?
Yeah.
Hey.
Alina, have you ever seen the show?
No.
Well, not before Brock was on it.
And then when Nicole was telling me that Brock was dating you
and trying to explain who you were. Yeah.
I got curious.
And I was like, but I don't have like pay TV, cable TV.
I mean, it doesn't watch reality shows.
So I was trying to find it.
And I couldn't even find the full episode.
So it was just literally like snippets off of like YouTube.
And I was like, that's like a lot.
Oh, yeah.
And to just see the snippets of it.
Yeah, that's not even the full.
I mean, you never get the full story, but it's not even like the full half story.
Nicole said like Brock was going to be on it.
Like we started sharing links and stuff and we found ways to view them.
Yeah.
At the beginning, it was like super foreign for me.
Yeah, totally.
And Brock knew I'd watched the show prior.
But I did stop a few seasons in between.
I think I watched like the first four, five seasons.
Yeah.
And there was a few in the middle.
I was like, yeah, this isn't really my vibe.
Yeah, because I was telling you,
we're probably going to run into my ex-boyfriend Rob at Stagecoach.
You're like, wait, who's Rob?
I'm like, season six?
And you're like, I missed that season.
Yeah, I don't even know who he is.
No, it's been running for so long, right?
Yeah, it's been a decade.
Yeah.
Crazy.
I feel like, yeah.
I mostly logged in especially
for like the wedding and the baby showers and the birthdays and stuff yeah i was always like
what are they wearing and now you get to be a part of the wedding hopefully on the show as well
stay tuned you know we we never know until we know but yeah fingers crossed But, yeah. Fingers crossed.
All right.
Thank you guys so much for listening.
We will be getting into some more shenanigans with Brock's mom coming up soon.
And so much more.
So, stay tuned.
Bye.
Thank you for enjoying this, guys.
Thank you very much.
Thanks, guys.
Bye.
Bye.
