The following podcast is a Dear Media production.
From Vanderpump Rules to motherhood and everywhere in between,
it's time to catch up with Sheena Shea. This is Shenanigans. And now here's your host, Sheena Shea.
We're rolling.
Back in studio.
We've got my sis here.
Hi, guys.
Who looks fire.
On the co-host mic.
Thank you.
So fire.
If you guys are watching, you see she's just like the trendiest person I know.
You've got some cute sweats that, do you want to talk about them really quick?
Yeah.
So I am launching a brand called Valley Brat.
talk about them really quick? Yeah. So I am launching a brand called Valley Brat. Unisex,
we're starting off with some hoodies, sweats, all like luxury, like heavy blend and a ton of hats launching February 2023. Love it. Yeah. So cute. If you guys saw my life is beautiful pink pants
outfit, if you're watching, we'll pop that picture up here. That was also Valley Brat.
Was it? Yeah. We've had some few Valley Brat samples over the past year that I feel like you
and I have both worn to festivals and stuff. Those were all just little like seeds. Yeah. I like that.
That's a good little play on it. Just plant the seed. Yeah. Just get the name out there. Yeah,
definitely. So we just thought, you know, it's a new year. We should do a new Q&A and see what you guys are curious about.
The Vanderpump Rules trailer obviously just dropped.
New episodes coming out February 8th.
We are now on Wednesdays.
A little hump day action with Vanderpump Rules.
And also my merch is still available and my Viva Verano lashes.
So just going to put that out there.
I mean, plug it, honey.
Yeah.
Shall we get into some questions?
Yeah.
Alrighty.
Dun, dun, dun.
Okay, well, let's just start off easy.
How are you guys doing as a couple and as individuals?
Just simply, how are you?
I would say we're doing pretty good.
I think the new year has definitely been a good new year.
Obviously, we started off Christmas.
Obviously, the Christmas time and the family time and all that was like everything was together.
So our schedules were a lot.
Well, we already know that.
But it was good going into the new year and just doing it and keeping it simple.
I think we went into the new year this year saying, let's stop doing so much stuff and let's try and focus on us.
And I think we've both
done really well the last two it's nearly three weeks into the new year so yeah and I think just
not having San Diego anymore as much as I miss it I loved that house so much it gives us more time
to just focus on us at home and then when we go to Palm Springs, that's our little escape. But I just like being home and getting
our routine. We have this like massive whiteboard over our stove where we check things off every day
that we've been doing pretty good with. It started off as a joke, but then now we're both on board
with it. And I mean, it's something simple. It's just literally like brush our teeth, make our bed.
And obviously we do brush our teeth every day. i miss it every now and then but you know it's it's like
the simple things but it's kind of like that feeling of accomplishment so we have it down
there sometimes it's good to write something on that you've already done just to immediately
cross it off just so you feel like you've already done something yeah and i thought that was dumb
to put brush your teeth on there i'm like obviously we brush our teeth every day it's
like the first thing i do when I wake up.
But Brock does forget sometimes.
He just goes straight down, starts cooking, has his coffee,
and then he'll brush his teeth, or I guess you forget sometimes.
But I check that one off every day.
And it is good to make the bed, you know, just the little ones,
because then you feel like you've accomplished something.
What's your hardest one on our list up there that you find difficult to do oh we don't always do the one minute kiss yeah that's actually
surprisingly we don't but like why do we have to put a time on it like do you guys set a timer like
hey alexa 60 seconds on the timer you put the timer on there because it's it it it takes away
because if you're kissing somebody for a whole minute it's not just kind of like an intimate like it kind of can turn into things it breaks down walls
it's a great way to communicate with each other even by not saying nothing at all so by putting
that time limit on it it actually adds to that connective aspect of a minute kiss with your
partner just try it with justice and tell me how it goes yeah because i mean honestly a minute
it doesn't seem like it's a long time until you're just, like, in it.
And then you're like, oh, we're still going.
Yeah.
And then you're like, oh, let's mix it up a little bit, a little bit of tongue.
And then it just keeps going from there.
And it's quite a fun, it's quite a little fun one to do.
But that one we miss some days.
I don't always eat lunch.
Sometimes I just am busy and I forget that one.
We're always in and out of the house.
But generally, when we're at home, sorry, when we're at home, we're consistently consistent.
We're at least 80% of that list is ticked off. Yeah. I saw one of the house but generally when we're at home sorry when we're at home we're consistently consistent we're at least 80 of that list is ticked off yeah i saw one of the questions too i feel like you guys don't really put baby duties on the list because
it's just kind of like whoever's there and you guys don't really you know separate them but one
question was if you had to pick one baby duty to like never do again what would it be oh never do
again that's a good question because Because I feel like, you know,
people who probably aren't parents are like,
oh, I would never want to change a diaper again.
But I'm sure there are worse things
that are just inconvenient.
The diapers is nothing.
The only thing that I hate about the diaper changing
is now at this age,
she wants to fight me on it
and she wants to roll over
and she wants to play.
She makes it a game with mom.
It's like when a dog has something in its mouth
and it like runs away.
Correct. Totally. She has a its mouth and it like runs away. Correct.
Yeah.
Totally.
She has a poopy diaper and she runs away.
Yeah.
But I would say.
Well, that's a good one.
Because I'm like putting her down for a nap.
Obviously, like she fights you guys on it.
But I feel like that's such a good bonding moment.
So probably not that.
She used to fight us on that.
Now she's so good.
Like we've got her back down to where she knows she's going in the crib.
She's got her baby.
Her elephant.
Yeah, she has her baby and her elephant.
She needs both.
Two binkies and a water.
She's very demanding when she gets near.
She's like, baby, elephant, binky.
She has her own checklist.
Yeah, exactly.
I don't know, honey.
I think the hardest thing I find with Summer Is when she wakes up at night
That's my
If there's something
I don't want to deal with
And I don't deal with it
You don't
I do
Mom deals with it
That's my biggest one
Is the sleep pattern
It breaks it up
For me
Because everything else
I really enjoy doing
Yeah
And I really enjoy it all too
I think it's just
Whenever she is being
Difficult on something
I'm like
I don't want to continue
Doing this
Can you do it
But when she's easy on it,
I don't mind.
Yeah.
You know,
if I was a parent,
I think it would be like around food,
like around meals because I hate sticky.
I don't want sticky on my hands.
I don't want sticky on the baby.
Like nothing should be sticky.
Like your Apple TV remote the other day.
Oh my God.
I was like,
what happened?
That was so bad.
I think she had like a peanut butter and honey toast.
And then that was the honey.
It felt like honey or syrup.
Yeah.
I was just like, Summer, I can't touch this and turn on the TV for you.
That honestly might be my least favorite thing is having to figure out different meals three
times a day plus two snacks because I don't even eat that much.
So to figure that out
for someone else, I think that's my most challenging thing, but I'm so thankful I have Brock who
loves to cook, loves to do new recipes and fun things for her. And we're trying to just expand
her palate. I think that might be my pet peeve because it's not that I love to do it. It's just,
if I don't do it, it's like, okay, we have to have this nutrient dense food.
If we don't get that in us, that's the fuel that starts us and gets us going.
But I do.
That's like my love hate.
Like, it's like, damn, I wish food could be easy.
I wish I had that.
I mean, obviously, if you had like the chef would be ultimate.
But I think it's also fun.
Summer cooks with us now.
She gets a little bit of independence.
We just brought her a new table and seat so she can now go sit by herself, set herself up to eat.
It's going to be fun.
I mean, not her knowing how to use a Keurig, right?
Oh my God, she makes our coffee for us.
It's the cutest thing.
I posted that.
A lot of people said that it's a cool thing to do.
I watched it like five times.
Yeah.
It was so cute.
Because you're like, oh, can daddy have a coffee?
And she's like, no.
Mommy.
And she was like, I'm mommy. And she was like, from mommy.
But it made sense.
It was your mug.
Yeah.
So I think that's why it was a hard no.
She was like, this isn't your mug.
Like, what?
Well, the first one she made for me, not a problem.
And then the second time we recorded it, I was like, oh, let's record this, actually.
Clear the station.
Pretend it's fresh.
Make daddy a coffee.
She was like, no, mommy.
I was like, all right.
She's like, you already had yours.
Don't be greedy.
I'll accept that.
You get one.
Yeah. It's a cool parenting thing. I read up about it right. She's like, you already had yours. Don't be greedy. I'll accept that. You get one. Yeah.
It's a cool parenting thing that I read up about.
And it's just trying to teach them independence.
So maybe not like get them involved in like the cooking aspect,
but try not to like,
obviously don't let them to put their fingers in the blender and
anything like that.
Obviously.
I mean,
you should be surprised at the comments that come below or come
following like, especially, but it is.
Even the Keurig, because it has the little pokey thing that pokes the pod.
So if she were to stick her finger in it, her fingers are small enough, but she doesn't do that.
She puts the pod in, she closes it.
And look, if she suck her finger in there and poke the finger, then she's going to learn real quick.
But we don't get there.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Okay, well, let's get into some of the trailer questions.
I know you like dove into that last week.
Yeah.
But we haven't gotten Brock's opinion.
So how are you both feeling after seeing the trailer drop for season 10?
And Brock, I want to hear your thoughts on the trailer.
It's a rough one purely because of obviously my first season on the show.
I kind of walked the walk and I got, I got, you know, walk the plank, if you could say.
And so now we had an intimate moment,
which is our wedding with all my family and all our loved ones.
And then you put it up to production, but you know,
obviously you've seen the teaser.
They've got like Sheena playing around with her veil with like the wind issue.
I can't wait to see how that plays out.
Which was the only issue that we kind of actually had.
And even Sheena got to the altar and kind of was like, you know what'll just get rid of it it was whatever first wait let's not skip the fact that first i
switched to my bad side oh yeah she did she took the pivot although realize it didn't work the wind
because of the wind so it was like just down on the other side and i was like oh not the photos
i want but i was like you know what fuck it whatever you're right you had the paparazzi
on the ocean side getting the other side anyways.
Yeah, what about that?
I don't know if you'll be able to see that.
I mean, we'll see.
I don't know.
We have photos from the wedding of this little paparazzi boat
with this absolute behemoth of a lens.
Massive.
Just out there floating on a little fisherman ship and just snapping his picks.
Maybe they'll come out when the episode comes out.
That's funny.
Maybe.
Who knows?
I don't know, because I'm very aware of my surroundings i feel like but then there are
times where we're at disneyland and i'm just like oblivious to people taking my photo or whatever
but that day i i know where my cameras are i've been doing this for 10 years so i can spot a
camera from miles away if i know literally i'm filming literally in the ocean so as I'm
walking up I'm like okay camera there camera there camera there and then I'm like why is there a boat
right there oh my god this boat's gonna be in the background of all of our photos but I was like you
know fuck it I'm getting married and then I just blocked it out I mean Morgan the photographer if
he was able to edit out our cousin David oh my god who married you guys so you had like just you
guys up there that was the best the boat was probably nothing. The boat's going to be gone.
Totally.
I think,
no,
I think from watching the trailer,
it just gives me,
you know,
obviously we had a lot going on at that wedding with,
with the Raquel situation and all that.
Huh?
I don't know.
I don't know what you're talking about.
So it obviously just,
you know,
but at the end of the day,
like you said,
like we,
we absolutely,
if I can go back to that memory,
I remember that weekend and I was the happiest I ever was.
So,
you know,
I look forward to rewatching it.
I can't wait.
You know,
to be honest.
And that's it.
And that's it.
I mean,
the rest of the filming season,
there was a lot of the,
you girls just getting on with your stuff,
which was a lot,
you know?
Yeah.
It was good.
Yeah.
I feel like we didn't see you a lot in this trailer.
So some people were asking if you were even going to be on this season.
Yeah.
Obviously always going to be on. I feel like I was barely in the trailer. Yeah. We both were barely in the trailer. So some people were asking if you were even going to be on this season. Yeah, obviously, always going to be on
as soon as possible.
I feel like I was barely
in the trailer.
Yeah, we both were barely
in the trailer,
but I feel like that's,
we don't have as much going on
as we do with everyone else
breaking up,
hooking up and doing that.
We just got married, you know?
We had a very happy summer,
not a super dramatic summer.
Yeah, why do people care more
about people breaking up
than getting together?
Doesn't it seem like that?
Very good question. People, I feel like... Maybe like it's more relatable than just being happy and in
love yeah i feel like it's like they walk the plank they always want like for example they
want sheena to be happy and single and then then when when she's happy and together you know they
always want opposites you can never please everybody i think and majority unfortunately
the show is based around drama and drama is never really
happy. Drama is very tearing down. So it gets a little dark sometimes.
I do think, and based on what I've seen everyone say online, obviously there's going to be the
people who are like, why is this show still on? The show should get canceled. It's run its course,
blah, blah, blah. But on the other side of it it so many people are like oh my god this is giving seasons one through three and that's
exactly what it felt like living it filming it like the old vpr you're right it was i mean i
don't know what the old vpr was but this was definitely this is definitely the opposite of
what season nine was purely based on just the energy of everyone.
Everyone was actually doing stuff, and it was really positive.
It wasn't so much just tearing everybody down,
as I bitch about season nine, because it wasn't season nine.
Season 10 is completely different.
Totally.
And also with the breakups and hookups in the friend group
is giving VPR seasons like one to three.
Everyone got a little stable, I I feel like for a little bit.
But this person wants to know
what do you rate
this season of VPR
out of all the past seasons?
Like do you think this
without
obviously you haven't seen it
but like
do you think this is going to be
one of the best seasons?
Yes.
I think season 10 is a 10.
I really do.
I'm not just saying that
but living it
I think 10 for 10.
Well I feel like you guys
didn't really have a great chance
with both 8 and nine.
Let's just forget the last two seasons.
Nine wasn't your guys' fault.
Coming back on COVID, I feel like a lot of shows struggle
just finding interesting things to do.
I think that was the biggest downfall of that season nine for me.
We talk about it all the time at home.
It was a lot.
I should have obviously, I can carry myself in a room, but maybe I should have just not carried myself in that situation through season nine and just kept my mouth shut.
But here we are.
And to be honest, the outcome from that has actually put me and Sheena in a better relationship with my ex and with my kids.
And so that's the caveat that I can take from season nine.
But yeah, after season nine and season 10, I was like, oh, yo, season 10.
Oh, totally.
Actually, this was fun.
Season nine still got us a season 10.
So we did something right.
Yeah.
You know?
We survived.
We were able to hang on.
We survived by a thread.
But kudos to Jeremiah.
Kudos.
Kudos?
Is it kudos or kudos? Kudos. K kudos kudos to jeremiah and we were talking about
this last night producer jerry yeah he obviously has been on the show since the beginning yeah
minus last season minus last season jumped on a boat and just traveled with his family which is
sick hell yeah and then he comes back and he's the showrunner and i feel like and sheena obviously
you can speak more on this,
but the life came back with Jeremiah.
And then also with the crew that he brought back in,
it was a lot more of the, you could feel the love.
But that was because we also got married this season.
But Jeremiah's been on it or been involved since the beginning, right? Yeah, he started as a field producer.
He has a really strong understanding of the show's identity.
And I think you see that with how he shot it and how they're talking and the feedback
that we're getting and what we're seeing.
Yeah.
Yeah.
He was the best person for the job.
And I genuinely, truly enjoyed this past season filming all of it.
So I can't wait to watch it back.
Yeah.
That was one of the questions.
Did you guys enjoy filming last season or this season more?
I mean, aside from your wedding, just like from a filming standpoint,
like not even the content that was filmed.
For me personally, this season so much more because I felt like me again.
Whereas last season, you know, I was a few days postpartum.
I was struggling all season with body image.
There was all these stupid theme parties.
I wasn't drinking.
I was breastfeeding.
I was just trying to figure out this new way of life while keeping this tiny human alive every
day. So now I feel like I've gotten that down and you know, I'm back in my old clothes, thankfully.
And I just feel like me again, but it didn't happen overnight. You know, I had to put in the
work. I know a lot of people have asked how I lost the weight and all of that.
And I do think working out for 39 weeks of my pregnancy definitely helped the bounce back.
But I also cheated a little in the recovery, which I'm also doing today, and did some MSculpt and EMS training and literally electrically shocked my body to get back.
So that was my secret. Listen, you did well.
And I could only imagine doing season nine or even just filming a show
after getting out of the hospital three days later.
Oh my God.
And when we go back and see,
we go back and see photos and we're like, wow, like honey, you know,
but obviously you did well at going back in shape,
but obviously it doesn't always happen.
But you feel confident in your parenting ability to now film a reality show
where we go out and have fun with our friends.
I think last season you also were dealing with that
because you didn't want the opinion.
And the mom guilt, and oh my God, this person said this,
and this person's like, why are you going out again?
And yeah, but it's like, you know what?
I have a job to do.
Honey, you're crushing it.
And this season watching you film and be a mom and everything, you did well.
I can't wait to see Summer on camera.
Oh, yeah.
There's a question about Summer, too.
How would you feel if Summer decides she wants to be on reality TV when she's older?
She is on reality.
I know.
But if she wanted to, I would absolutely support anything she wants to do.
I would just give her the best advice I can. I would make sure she has like a therapist on call to talk to you if anything ever got tough.
Because I feel like that's one thing that this also this past year has really helped me is doing regular therapy every other week.
I started every week and then every other week.
And I think that has definitely helped.
Yesterday was my first therapy session I didn't
cry yeah I was like wait where she goes oh sorry my husband just walked in I told him I'd be done
at 11 45 it's 11 47 I was like oh shit I was just like having a good time like telling her all the
progress I've made with my OCD and just journaling and everything that I've been doing to work on
myself and it was such a good session I was was like, oh, it's already over.
You're like, we have to go.
Yeah.
We're not done yet.
Well, we've got Summer booked in.
Well, we're meeting with an agency to get her actually working.
So I'm going to be, do you call him a stage dad?
Stage dad.
Stage dad over here.
Oh.
Yeah.
So we're going to mix it up.
We're just going to, obviously, she is great on camera.
She enjoys her time.
She loves smiling.
If it's something she doesn't want to do, we obviously will never do it.
But if it's something she's okay doing, then we'll put her in these situations to give her the best opportunity to do that.
She just follows direction really well, and she's so damn cute.
So we're like, let's try.
I mean, she loves a camera.
She sees any camera, the blink camera.
She went and picked one up the other day.
I had just like an extra one to keep an eye on the cats while we were in palm springs she goes up to the camera picks it up she was cheese and then
she's like kissing it and then she looks at herself on the front she just enjoys it so we'll have fun
with her and whatever she wants to do she's obviously little and we'll protect her as much
as we can uh but we'll be right yeah yeah okay still talking still more there's still a couple more vpr questions this one's i guess to
me i need i need to actually know this answer why do we never see your sister on vpr yeah why why
okay honestly it's because i want to go on big brother and i think uh if i you know became more
of like a friend on the show you know they, they're like, there's those secondary characters.
Yeah.
I don't think I would get cast for Big Brother.
That's actually a really good point.
If I had already been on another network.
Wait, we need to get you on Big Brother. I really want to do next year's season, season 26.
I think that's when I'm actually going to start applying.
Yeah.
This is season 25 this upcoming summer.
And that's a big one for Big Brother.
I mean, Survivor's only 40 or something.
But for Big Brother being a quarter of a century,
there's a lot of talk that this season's going to be a second chance season
and bring back some favorites from the last 25 years.
She knows everything about beauty.
Every spoiler girl on Twitter.
But I just feel like season 26 feels really good.
I want to continue working this year, building my brand,
and then step away for up to three months next summer.
I feel like that's enough cushion time.
But yeah, honestly, I've wanted to go on big brother since i was so little i know that it wasn't just like when reality tv gets presented in front of you you jump at anything
because thinking about big brother too the past like 10 seasons at least the only person that i
feel like of no like noteworthy that's been on it was like frankie grande or yana's brother and even
that's kind of rare they i feel like they normally like a lot of fresh faces.
Totally.
So, I mean.
You're keeping your face fresh for Big Brother.
If Vanderpump's still going on after my season of Big Brother, like I'm down.
Yes.
I also never wanted to work at Sur.
I'm just not a service industry girly.
I know.
But like four or five years ago, I'm like, hey, you're old enough.
Do you want to work at Sur?
I know.
We talked about it for a second.
And like you were, I think that was when you were single and everything yeah and I remember
you're like if you don't have a job by this date you're doing it with me yeah and then I landed a
really cool job in the influencer space I know which allowed me to travel and like which is a
little bit more on brand for me at the time I also felt so much younger than everyone else I mean I
know there was I mean now like Raquel and I are pretty close in age like james i don't know how old everyone is actually yeah
you and raquel are closest raquel's the youngest i don't even think raquel was really involved yet
and i felt like it didn't didn't seem organic no totally what am i gonna be doing fighting with
katie like i mean you know like what do we have to fight about
i feel like i feel like there might be
an opportunity obviously after next summer after you go on big brother we're putting it out there
it could be actually a better role that your sister could be involved in later on which
will be a fun little oh i know what you're saying oh i don't know what you're thinking yeah it's
okay but it was funny i was on after i was editing your last podcast and you guys were talking about Reddit and everything,
I just felt inspired to look up
what people were saying about me on Reddit.
Like I was ready to get my feelings hurt.
Oh my gosh.
You know when you lurk and get your feelings hurt?
No.
I mean, we don't.
We know some people on our show who do.
I do not want to go on the Reddit ever.
No, everyone on Reddit was so nice.
Yeah?
Like whoever's listening out there.
Well, that's because you also also on noise you know but people
are like she said it was all backhanded to sheena but people are like she must be like the smarter
cooler sister like she makes the podcast more bearable i'm like oh my god guys like
but they were so nice to me yeah so i feel like it's because they don't know me it's because
they've seen me for like a glimpse.
Yeah.
I mean, they've seen a lot of Sheena, haven't they?
A lot.
A lot.
I think what, I mean, from what I've read at least,
I think they enjoy me being on the podcast when Brock is also on because I can, you know, mediate.
Totally.
He can balance me out so I don't just keep talking.
Yeah, I think there was another Reddit article recently
that said that they hate the Q&As.
And I was like, interesting, because they're one of my highest downloaded types of podcasts.
And there's thousands of questions that we have to sift through.
Yeah.
Like, people wouldn't be asking questions if they didn't want to hear the answer.
Exactly.
There's so many.
Is there?
Yeah.
Let's get into another one.
Yeah, let's go.
Perfect.
Or before we do, we can take a little break.
All right.
Y'all know how much I love my home meal delivery kits
because Brock and I both love to cook,
but we don't always love to grocery shop.
I would much rather have fresh food show up to my doorstep.
And this week, we are finally jumping on the HelloFresh train.
I have heard about HelloFresh from so many friends.
And I hadn't tried it yet because
I had Green Chef and EveryPlate. And those were so good that I realized they're so good because
they're owned by HelloFresh. So hello, there is now a wider array of meal plans to choose from.
There's something for everyone. I love that I can switch between the brands. And now my listeners can enjoy both brands
at a discount from me. So it's the new year. You've got New Year's goals and HelloFresh
is here to help you achieve them. You can skip the grocery store, take control of your life
and budget with delicious recipes delivered right to your door. So if you're looking for an easy way to eat well and
save money this year, you can cut back on expensive takeout and delivery and get started with Hello
Fresh. You'll love how fast, easy, and affordable it is to whip up restaurant-quality meals right
in your own kitchen. Like I said, I love to cook. Brock loves to cook. But figuring out what to cook can sometimes be
challenging. And with HelloFresh, you get the recipe, you get the ingredients, you get it all
really easy to do and just right at your door. You know, if you're living in one of those climates
where you have to plow through the snow to get to the grocery store just to stock up on snacks,
sides, and desserts. You don't have to do that at the grocery store. You can do that at the
HelloFresh market. You simply add these staples and sweets to your weekly order and they'll arrive
at your doorstep along with your meals. I love that HelloFresh not only saves us time and money,
but it saves us from having to figure out what to make every day for
dinner. It really just makes things so much easier, especially when we have a baby that we
already have to figure out several meals a day and snacks, what we're going to do for her. Now,
we don't have to also think about what we're going to do for us. You guys can go to HelloFresh.com
slash Sheena22 and use code Sheena22 for 22 free meals plus free shipping. Again, go to
HelloFresh.com slash Sheena 22. Use code Sheena 22 for 22 free meals plus free shipping. HelloFresh
is America's number one meal kit. Okay. Will we get to see more of you guys as parents on the show?
Are you keeping some or more private? So, we were debating about that because last season, I mean, it wasn't even
an option or a thought. You know, we're coming off a year and a half of not filming. I just
had a brand new baby. I wasn't going to be the person who's like, no, we can't film her. I wanted
to show that aspect of my life. Then this year, now that she's a little older, we're like,
do we, you know, have her on the show the show because unfortunately ocean wasn't allowed on the show this season so we're like maybe we just don't
have the babies and then we're like a few weeks into filming i'm like she's just too damn cute
we gotta have her on yeah and it's obviously there's no play dates or anything like that
she's just in the house when the girls have their girls time or when we're at the house summer's
there because she's our kid you know we're not're not going to be just free-worn.
Yeah, so we did film a lot of stuff at home with her,
just like playing and whatnot.
We filmed like a walk and some things.
I don't know what all we'll make it in,
but we decided she's just too good on camera
and she's too cute,
and that is the biggest part of our life.
So it would just be weird to not show it
because of our choice.
This was not Lala's choice, you know?
I feel like it'd be weird if you guys are filming in the living this was not lala's choice yeah you know i feel
like it'd be weird if you guys are filming in the living room and all these like baby toys are around
people like if it gets brought up people are gonna be like where's the baby like is she like locked
up in the room upstairs with your mom it would be another reddit article of just like oh they're
this and it's like here we go but there were a few scenes we filmed during either her nap time or
when my mom was upstairs with her well there, there's also, if everyone listening to this, they got to understand that we can't film with a baby longer than 15 minutes on camera.
It's a little different now that she's older.
But there are crazy strict filming laws.
There's strict rules.
And then you have to bring like a nanny on set or what is it called?
A nanny?
A baby nurse or a teacher.
Yeah.
Nurse on set for the kid.
So it adds all these other implications as opposed to like, hey,
can we just-
Elements.
Elements.
Adds these other elements.
Thanks, my love.
These other elements to film in that kind of throws a spanner in the works
where it's like, hey, can you just have your mom come over
and watch summer while we film?
Yeah.
And I need people to understand that because they keep-
I don't think they understand the concept of like, you know,
we can't keep a kid on camera all the time.
And if we could, we do.
But let's be real.
There's not riveting conversations going on between us
and a one and a half year old.
I mean, we have good chat, but no one else will understand it.
So-so, you know, more?
Like, what are you going to be doing?
And I think it's good that like they have these production laws in place
where they like protect children from working.
But at the same time, it's like, why does a one and a half year old need a teacher on set?
Like, it's just, it is what it is for production.
Exactly.
So to help that out, it just generally we just have them come over and then we'll do things out of the house.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Okay.
This question came in about Raquel.
I don't really get it, but it says,
how could you still support Raquel when she was sleeping with a married man?
Well, she's never slept with a married man.
There is an instance, you see a bit of it in the trailer.
You will see probably a lot of it on the show this season.
That will play out.
But I will just say she absolutely did not sleep with
any married man ever period next okay period this question just says lala and brock good i mean i
feel like we didn't get to see them really engage at all in the trailer so people have no idea really
where you stand or if they'll have to wait and find out oh i mean you won't see it unfold this season as much remember we did film a scene the three of us but you just never know
what makes it in but that was such a good moment right before i think we left for the wedding
yeah i think i think for for our relationship it kind of went from last summer going into this
summer and i think with all circumstances happening with me and Lala,
obviously last year,
I really wish I could have just taken a breath going into that reunion,
but I was so heated.
I wanted just to fight everybody and just, you know, get it out there.
But the reality of it is, you know,
those were the actions that I've done in my past.
And she was just talking about them publicly.
I also publicly
talked about them on national television for the first time ever. So I really kind of like,
at that point in time, what she was going through and what she is going through now,
kind of like helped us bridge that gap of like, you know, I'm really not upset with you.
You called me out on my shit and put me in a better place. Now I can want to be here for you
because to be honest, now she had all that support
and then now that got ripped underneath her
and then everything's coming out in the paper
and everything with everything else going on.
It kind of helped me,
helped us build that relationship a lot quicker.
And then, yeah, we've got the kids.
Over the last few months,
even since we've wrapped,
but we've gotten even so much closer
spending the holidays together.
Now it's our Christmas tradition.
Our families are going to come together every year in Palm Springs.
We hope it's going to become a tradition.
We just did it.
It is.
We've done it.
It was the first annual.
Yeah.
It's the second with Janet's family.
And then the first that we opened it up to, you know,
Kale came, Lala came, Brett and other friends.
And I want Christmas to be our new friendsgiving because
friendsgiving just kind of died the last two years i think friendsgiving around everywhere
died after the pandemic we're kind of like oh do we really need more of these or is that just
because we're in it we're just we're just seeing we're married and happily in the families now i
think the two holidays are really close back to back and a lot of people only go home for one
and i've even seen in la at least a lot of people have been spending thanksgiving just with like their significant other and not
because christmas yeah you know what that's so good for mental health i'll tell you that right
now and for families just take it easy slow down you got christmas coming up i love the holidays
yeah but yeah i think i think that's fun i think it's i think you guys relationship and you guys
wouldn't haven't seen it this season because everything else that happens, but coming out from this,
whatever comes forward from the relationship with Lala
and her family and our family, it's nothing but great.
We really enjoy each other's company.
Our moms are best friends.
I think there's so many good similarities that we have,
and it's just a respect thing.
And, I mean, I always tell Sheena this.
I'm like, well, let's just see how next summer goes when cameras go up,
but I really look forward to the relationship that she has with Lala and everything going moving forward.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's fun.
And the kids.
You should see the kids together.
They're best friends.
Doesn't Ocean call her Moon?
Yeah.
That's so cute.
Oh, shit.
Oh, shit.
They wake up in the morning and they just walk in and start talking.
And Summer will sit up at the bed with her crazy hair and be like, Ocean.
And then she'll walk in and be like, Moon.
And from the beginning of the day, they're just buddies.
And now dad has another little girl who calls him Opa.
It was the cutest thing, Court, in Palm Springs this past weekend.
Ocean just kept pointing out to the golf course and going, Opa?
Opa?
She thought he was still golfing.
And we're like, where's Opa?
And she does this like, I don't know.
That's so cute.
I love that. I bet that feels good for Lala, too, topa? And she does this like, I don't know. That's so cute. I love that.
I bet that feels good for Lala too, to have Ocean look up to him like that.
And I think that's another element of the friendship that kind of adds to it.
It's more than just like, oh, we're friends now.
We made up.
It's like there's bigger things to deal with.
It's so much deeper now.
And, you know, yeah.
Well, speaking of Summer and Ocean hanging out,
this fan wants to know why aren't Summer and Hartford hanging out anymore?
Hartford?
Good question.
I mean, look, you can answer it.
I mean, we haven't been invited to hang out
with Hartford recently.
When we were at Pandora's son's birthday,
for example, at Teddy's birthday,
the girls hung out a bit,
but I don't know.
Your guys' relationship is more acquaintances at this point.
Yeah, that's the thing.
And the lines have been drawn, and there's no need to be like,
why aren't you guys best friends?
Because we've all got different interests.
Not everyone has to be.
And, you know, nothing but love to that family.
But we just are in different, not in different places.
We're in a very similar place in our life.
But just, I don't know
I guess just because you have kids that are the same age
doesn't make up for the years
and years of kind of friendship or
whatever you call that you know
and when other people you know who
I'm close with are on the outs with those people
it just it makes it a little
more difficult and you know
being friends with Lala being friends with
Brittany having the kids together it's just easy and it works and I love having them together I just think the more time
Summer gets with kids her age yeah you know I think we wouldn't ever say no for them hanging
out we just never had an opportunity to do it anymore yeah no it doesn't come up yeah no um
well we saw Summer with a lot of her cousins recently.
They wanted to know who from the Aussie fam came to visit you guys.
Have you met his kids yet?
Hope so.
Yeah.
So we've got, obviously, everyone that came over was actually my cousins.
Cousins from New Zealand.
From New Zealand.
And then my other cousin that lives here, who's the only family member I have here.
So they all came over.
They brought all their kids over.
And it was just a great reminder.
They have six kids.
One of them, Tara and Steel. Two sets of twins. Yeah. She crushes it. Oh my gosh. So they came over
and visited, which was awesome. It just reminded us about home, but it was good seeing the family
and that, and obviously going into the new year, we were here already in February. We plan on
heading back to Australia, either myself with Gina or just myself, just to start that relationship
with kids again so it's
all up on them obviously we're going to take our time but the goal is to go back in February and
then start connecting that way yeah so like you said your family's from New Zealand this question
was what are both of your nationalities and heritage like what is summer at the end of the
day do we know what her little she is the ultimate she's got a lot she's everything
yeah i'm i'm uh because like are you is new zealand like a nationality like there's there
so i'm a moldy which is a indigenous to new zealand and then i'm also pakia which is a
white fella which is everything under the sun so we've got asian we've got irish yeah we've got
pacific islander what else have i got arnie tell me it's like a lot of europe which is my other So we've got Asian, we've got Irish. Yeah. We've got Pacific Islander.
What else have I got, Arnie?
Tell me.
It's like a lot of Europe, which is my other half as well.
But then I guess Mexican is Spanish and Native American.
But predominantly I'm Asian, white, and Pacific Islander.
Yeah.
What are you?
And then we've got the Spanish, Native American, European. And thanks to, what is it? Well, yeah, because Mexican is like Spanish and Native American, European.
And thanks to, what is it?
Well, yeah, because Mexican is like Spanish and Native American.
So, yeah.
So we've got all that that we learned on 23andMe.
23andMe.
Sheena is also one-fifth, 1.5.
Oh, wait, different things.
No, 1.5.
It was like 0.01 Neanderthal.
Yeah, Neanderthal. Me, not Brock. I thought I'd be Neanderthal yeah Neanderthal
me not Brock
I thought I would be Neanderthal
you know what's funny
I was with my boyfriend
Justice once
at like a juice shop
and someone comes up to him
and they go
what are you
I've never seen a face
like yours before
are you part Neanderthal
and he was like
is this a backhanded compliment
like I've never seen a face
like yours before
and I think he just looks white he's like
polish i'm like is he yeah i think we're a little bit of that too he's polish
i am white i'd say i'm white pacific island is what i would say like polish irish german
russian it's funny that though because summer and winter her older sister they have the same heritage you probably have
similar they do see they do look similar in photos it's like wow that's i do see summer but then i
also see baby photos of sheena oh my gosh and i'm like wow that is that is summer so it's genetics
how crazy is that so crazy so i think you guys touched on this a little bit in the beginning
of the podcast about getting rid of the san diego home some questions came in about why
you had to move i think you guys kind of answered that but with this being said and you guys being
now in la full-time do you guys want to raise summer in la we don't know i mean whether it's
gonna be la orange county somewhere in between, Westside, Valley, like
we don't know.
We haven't brought a house in LA for us to be like, this is where we're going to live.
Yeah.
And so that keeps our options open.
But I think for the least next couple of years, where we're at right now is a good kind of
starting platform to settle down, get into our thing, the swing of things.
And obviously
the big conversations are schooling and all that for summer. And reality is it's like, okay,
what resources do we have available at our disposal to then give ourselves a better opportunity when
it comes to those conversations? So I think for now, we're just going to slow it down.
We moved up here to settle down and just do the parent life and really live in LA.
And a lot of work opportunities are coming up from here.
So if that means we stay here, we stay here.
We don't know what the next, maybe in two years we'll make that decision.
But I think for now we're here.
Before she has to be enrolled in kindergarten, we'll figure it out.
But until then, I mean, I'm very happy where we're at right now, but I would also like
the kids to go to school together, you know, to have summer and ocean and cruise.
That would be pretty wild.
And rain and all of them.
But we all live in different places.
Yeah.
We got to do like a mommy and me or something just to keep all the kids together.
We'll figure it out.
But I don't think we've thought – we've only thought two years ahead.
We haven't brought that home yet.
Once we look at purchasing that home in a couple of years,
that I think will make us have a good understanding of where we're going to go.
Are you guys going to put her in preschool?
We talked about that. I think will make us have a good understanding of where we're going to go. Are you guys going to put her in preschool? We talked about that.
I think so.
Yeah.
I mean, I want to do more of like a mommy and me and like those type of things right now.
I wouldn't put her in preschool this young.
But when do you do that?
Like around three or four, like pre-K and stuff?
I feel like some kids go to preschool for like three years before kindergarten.
I didn't go to preschool at all.
It's just like they care pretty much. But they teach them like but their numbers but they go to get
so i think if we can find like a coding school or something like coding yeah develop a little
i don't i've never like looked into it since i'm not a parent but i've heard like those like
montessori schools which is good when they like mess with textures and like stuff like that. That's probably good for them to,
that probably would have helped me
with like my sensory issues
if I did that when I was younger.
Probably, definitely.
Do you still have your cats?
And if so, how are they with Summer?
Yeah, Salem is so tolerant with her.
She could literally just tackle him
and he is so good.
Penny pretty much runs away. But they've been very good with her. Penny just literally just tackle him and he is so good. Penny pretty much runs away.
But they've been very good with her.
Penny just lived like a full life
before ever being around a child.
She's like, I ain't dealing with this.
This is new. This is a lot. Get away.
She vacates the room real quick.
But Salem jumps in bed
and even in the morning he gets his cuddles in with
Sheena and Summer. They come in there and they cuddle
with each other. He's good.
Salem's like a dog. He other. He's good. Yeah.
Yeah.
Salem's like a dog.
He like never takes his claws out.
No.
I think boy cats are the best.
Honestly, I always say if you're going to get a pet, boy cats and girl dogs.
Yeah.
I've had the best experiences with both.
I think boy dogs could be a little iffy.
And I think girl cats are just like.
Yeah.
Penny can be kind of a bitch sometimes.
Yeah.
Mm-hmm.
Okay.
Well, now that Summer's getting older,
do you guys, Sheena, do you think you'll change your name soon?
And what does Brock want you to do?
Well, we both want to change our names
because he wants to legally add Honey to his name.
So I haven't changed mine yet
because if I change mine now just from our marriage certificate,
then it goes to just Sheena Marie Davies,
and I want it to be Sheena Marie Honey Davies.
So it's the balls and brocks court.
Yes.
Yeah, I guess I really haven't put much thought into it, really.
Obviously, I want to change it, but there's no need to rush into it.
I don't have to get a new passport anytime soon.
My driver's license is pretty valid.
So we actually do need a new driver's license before May.
We both do.
Yeah, we need the real ID or we have to start traveling with our passport.
I already had that, but my ID expires this year.
I'm going to do the full Khloe Kardashian glam DMV vibe.
Yeah, that's what I did.
Yeah.
Perfect.
Yeah.
I mean, I'll just resurface that.
I haven't put third into it.
Well, obviously I want to have honey.
And so when push comes to shove, we'll have that conversation, but there's no rush for
it.
You know, we can go by whatever you want to get go by these days.
So yeah.
Does it bother you that my name is still Shay? No. Yeah think that's what people think they're like why would you still have
your ex-husband well i think like it's it's a different situation purely because you're known
to other people as sheena shay not just because of who your husband was but just because of a name
from a show yeah after seven years like it's low-key more your name now than it is his.
Like, sorry.
You're like, I claimed it.
You can have it back now.
But like.
I just can't see Andy Cohen going back to Sheena Marie.
You know, I'm just Sheena Shea to him.
Yeah.
And that's the big one. That kind of like, that's your public, like that's your persona.
It's like my stage name.
That's your stage name.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So it doesn't bother me at all.
I mean, the only thing that doesn't even, this might grow in my gears, but it doesn't.
I laugh at it is every time we're at a hotel or something like that.
They call you Mr. Shea.
Mr. Shea.
I'm like, perfect, bro.
Well, it's like Kris Jenner.
Like, she didn't change her name.
I feel like no one's bothering her asking.
Right.
Like when she's going to change her name.
I don't even know what her maiden name is.
Oh, that's a good point. Because Kardashian was. Yeah. Uh-huh her name. I don't even know what her maiden name is. Oh, that's a good point.
Because Kardashian was...
Yeah.
Interesting.
I don't know.
Yeah, there's no clue.
Well, speaking of things that grind Brock's gears,
I don't know if this does,
but how did Brock feel about your ex being on the podcast?
Honey?
This was Rob, right?
Honestly, I don't...
I'm not...
My personality is never one of being like jealous of other men or anything like that.
I would be jealous if I wasn't treating you right or if I was doing shady shit or anything like that, that could put like a thought in my head where like I felt intimidated by somebody else.
I think it's great for you, for your podcast and for you guys' relationship to have that conversation publicly.
You know, especially what you guys went through on the show.
Yeah.
To be able to rehash it so you can get kind of feel vindicated for all the stuff you wanted
to find out about.
I was going to ask, did you listen to the episode or watch it or?
No.
Do I need to?
No, I don't think so.
I was just like, you really don't care that much or you didn't even like listen to it
back.
No.
I mean, you hear the people talk on social media, but I don't even pay attention to social media much anymore.
So it's been refreshing to kind of take that approach with everything.
And look, honey, I think you guys have a friendship.
I want to keep in touch with my exes and that.
And I don't think that should be a problem in people's relationships.
I think it's quite healthy to be able to like, hey, look, I spent four years or three years with this partner.
And, you know, I've got a good bond with them and we're still friends at the baseline.
You're just not hooking up with each other. So. Yeah. And I think that doing this conversation publicly, cause him and I obviously over the last few years have had several conversations,
but to have it public after making our relationship so public and for him to explain more about
how he was feeling apprehensive
about doing the show and all of that i think that was so good for the listeners and the viewers to
see and hear because they're like oh wait sheena's not crazy no i feel like just a little like but
audiences need closure too like imagine if katie and schwartz got divorced and then there wasn't
another season and then it's like people are like people just want to know we're naturally curious yeah yeah no i think that and that's and that's the nature
of the beast of being with you and this relationship is like it's not as conventional
you're not going to take my last name you know you gotta you gotta tell your story i am going
to take your last name eventually eventually we can get there yeah yeah okay i think this will
be our last question a little bit off topic but i know at the beginning of this episode you talked
about your therapy and everything.
And I feel like there's always a lot of questions
that come in about that.
Yeah.
This one says, do you take meds for your anxiety and PTSD?
And do you still have intrusive thoughts?
Intrusive thoughts, yes, all of the time.
I still need to find the right psychiatrist.
All the ones that have been referred to me
are either men or they're actually a therapist.
They're not a psychiatrist or a psychologist or whatever. So I used to take Wellbutrin. I did that for like
four or five years for my anxiety. And then once I got pregnant, I weaned myself off of that the
first pregnancy. And then by the time I got pregnant with summer, I was completely off it.
So I'm not on any meds at the moment. And I don't want to get on any meds. I don't want to be on
OCD meds. I don't want to be on OCD meds. I don't want
to be on anything. I just want to focus on doing my exposure therapy and all of that and not be on
any meds, hopefully. But I would like the thoughts to go away. Yeah. I don't think the thoughts go
away. I think, I think it's just how you prioritize those thoughts, you know, especially when you have those thoughts and these are practices that we can all get. When you have those i think it's just how you prioritize those thoughts you know especially when you have
those thoughts and these are practices that we can all get when you have those thoughts it's
kind of like understanding the meaning of it and then realizing okay well that is just the thought
this is the present this is what actually is going on and you're going to learn that eventually and
you're going to get those coping mechanisms and i'm proud of you honey thanks honey i can like
also identify mine being like oh this isn't isn't a real thought. This is like, they like look different. Yeah. No. And that's the thing too. I had to do a six page document
for therapy this week where it was like a whole OCD assessment at a circle. Yes or no. And all
of these things. And there were so many questions that I was like, well, yes and no, because only
if it's about this. But then she said with the amount that I answered yes
it's definitely mild to moderate OCD but I wrote little explanations I'm like okay well yes however
I had to explain no because I did because I feel like that makes more of the whole picture better
to and easier to understand like one of the things was something about hoarding or whatever. And I'm like,
I only hang on to things from loved ones. I don't hang on to junk just to hang on to junk. So I was
like, yes, but no. And there were a lot of questions like that where I felt like I needed
to explain it a little more because it wasn't a hard yes. If I just circled yes to all of the
things with that explanation, then it would be maybe more moderate to severe. It's just more
general questions. Yeah.
So yeah, I filled out that.
It was six pages, bunch of questions, rating, you know, how many hours a day do you spend with these thoughts?
And I'm like, well, I don't know because they're often, but they're brief.
So it's not like it's consuming eight hours of my day.
Is it more than one hour collectively?
Maybe, but that's where I feel like you have to explain those things a little
more than just like yes this many yes this yeah so sure yeah well I'm sure you'll keep updating
all the listeners about how definitely yeah my therapy journey is oh I have one more question
yeah what's the hardest exposure there like thing that you are going through in therapy that you're
exposing yourself to what spending more time alone with Summer and doing things alone with her, whether that's driving,
walking, just activities alone with her, because I am so fortunate to have an amazing husband who
is home often to help me so much. You know, we have our mom. So I've had so much help. But then
Brock says so much help can sometimes be a hindrance. And I need to be confident in being a mom on my own and doing things with my daughter
by myself.
So yesterday in therapy, she goes, I want to, you know, do a spectrum of what's a one
like maybe being upstairs with summer while Brock is downstairs.
And then what's a 10?
And I said, well, a 10 is like driving to Disneyland by myself and meeting friends or
family there.
I want to work up to that 10.
I feel like you could even go farther, like traveling with her alone.
Oh, okay.
Yeah, that's definitely a 10.
So Disneyland by myself is a 9.
Flying somewhere else and doing all of that in the car seat, that's like a full 10.
I think you'll be able to do it though.
But I mean, she's going to get easier.
For sure.
The older she gets, the more she's able to communicate and express what she needs what hurts if she's hungry if she's
thirsty it's definitely getting easier for me but just kind of working on my way up that spectrum
to get to at least an eight you've been doing great honey the first that's the biggest one
these first two months two weeks of this new, we've been at home keeping a chill.
And I'll tell you what, you've definitely done,
gone above and beyond.
And I think you've noticed it yourself
and how you engage with Summer
and how you handle situations throughout being a parent.
And I think you're doing great.
Yeah.
My exposure therapy started at following more than 420 people
on Instagram.
You inspired mom to do the same.
I know.
So that's where it started.
And I'm like, I could keep doing this in other ways.
So I'm going to keep exposing myself.
I'm going to keep filling you guys in.
And we'll keep getting into some shenanigans.
And don't forget new episodes of Vanderpump Rules
every Wednesday starting February 8th.
Thanks for being here, guys.
