I've done a few before. Okay, so you know how it goes. Yeah, a bit. That's rubbish. So Tom and I, we met on a dancing show. Yeah. Which, how long ago was it now? That was not September, just gone the one before.

What dancing show? I do have that. Which one? That's gone so fast. It's called The Real Dirty Dancing. Oh, the one before what dancing show do you have that's gone so fast it's called the real dirty dancing oh the one that you won yeah yeah he's the dancer and i won how's that how'd make that make sense no to be fair if we were together i do also think we would have both won you're gonna upset lee with that but all right lee won't be listening so i feel like it's all right no Lee was a great partner

um but yeah no so we met like a few years ago oh my god a few years ago that's crazy it feels like ages ago though yeah yeah um but obviously you guys haven't met until today first time meeting finally we both do live in Manchester yeah hi but you're not a real Mancunian no I'm not you're you're not a real one are you or are you are you yeah born and bred oh maybe i can hear the accent slightly now i've been like back and forth to london from being a kid i was gonna say you don't proper have one but yeah met for the first time today love that so people know you as a google box star yeah is there anything you miss about being on the show the takeaways they used to bring us takeaways every episode really could you choose yeah so

every day we filmed they'd be like what do you want to eat and they just order us food that was literally the best thing about it that sounds really bad but that was actually the best thing about it the free food i love it do you know what the question i've asked tom so many times and literally because my mom basically religiously watches google box right and so she used to obviously she knew tom's family from watching the show and they would always have and you know what i'm gonna say now right um they would always have these cakes out cakes like cakes yeah like my mom's a feeder yeah just like right but they'd never be touched

whereas like obviously normally if you're sat watching tv like you'd be eat you'd be scrubbing the cakes at least i would anyways but they'd never be touched so every time i see tom my mom makes me ask if anyone eats the cakes or not did anyone eat the cakes so because like my mom and dad were like so strict on manners growing up so when we're eating obviously we're not talking because we've got our mouth full so if you're not talking they don't show it because we're not saying anything so they did okay so you did eat them yeah in fact me and my dad actually because my mum got like more and more extravagant if you watch as the series go on that we were on it like my mum gets more extravagant like with the whole display of

the cakes at one point she had like double tier cakes and stuff in one are we talking like cupcakes or like actual big cakes so it at first it was like crisp or like chocolate in like the first series we did it ended up there was a double tier cake one time that my mum had just in the middle imagine that like I feel like honestly you were known for the cakes and the dogs yeah me and my dad started like putting them into suggestive patterns on the on the tray and hoping that no one would notice it so there's like there's episodes out there where if you look at the cakes okay i need to go and watch this now and just look at the different cakes that your mother's made have you ever seen google box i'm gonna be honest not really no i've watched the odd episode but not have you have religiously watched google no i didn't religiously watch it but i've watched the odd episode but not okay have you have religiously watched

no i didn't religiously watch it but i've watched it okay i've watched a couple of episodes i do like it just not not tom's i haven't seen your mom's cakes i do apologize so why did you why did you stop filming google box was that for any reason or just i just wanted to do other stuff like i'd been doing it for six and a half seven years wow yeah so it was a lot like my parents are still on it i'm like you're not tired oh okay your family is still on it yeah so i left but they're still doing it but i just wanted to do other stuff and because it was like you're contracted to like that and just that because obviously you've got to be normal people whatever so it was like I wanted to try other stuff there's other opportunities coming through to do other

stuff so I was like while I'm younger I can do it and you did the coolest thing ever listen to this tell Anna what you just did recently and in fact everyone on the podcast with your dancing you must know oh the jingle bell ball yeah yeah I did see that on your Instagram yeah that was very cool yeah that is pretty sick. It was mad because I'm like, I've grown up obviously dancing behind artists and stuff. So then now that I had my own section at the Jingle Bell Ball with my own backing dancers and I was like, this is weird.

That's so cool. I got to come out the stage, like, you know, when the hole in the stage opens and you like. And they lifted you up. Yeah. I was like, I feel like Michael Jackson.

I feel like that is my dream. And I'm not even a performer, but that I feel like it's everyone's dream yeah i can only imagine how you felt in that moment literally i was coming out of the stage i was like who do you think you are right now i had to humble myself quickly but yeah so we're gonna talk about valentine's day on this episode okay which is obviously romance and i don't want to make it awkward because i am sat in between you both oh god on New Year's you guys posted a picture or did you post it I can't remember who posted it

oh you both posted there you go and I will be honest when I first saw the picture I'm pretty sure you text me maybe I just literally was saying I don't know if I text her or not who's that you're wearing a matching outfit with someone who's that so what what's going on there we've actually been together for three years and no

one knows truth is out what the fuck yeah i know no so i'm actually going to tell you the the what happened with the matching outfits because it it was planned. It was planned. It was planned. Okay. Basically, the theme of my New Year's Eve party was, come as the first letter of your name. Okay. And so immediately I was like, oh, I'm going to be Sandy from Greece. Then I was like, oh my God, like I really want a Danny. And there was no D's there.

So I was like, what am I going to do? Then I figured T-Bird. So I literally just voicered at Tom and I was like, is there any way you can be my danny and come as a t-bird and so he did it was a easier costume than what i was gonna come as so what are you gonna come as so i was gonna go as thor but then i was like then i need to get a whole thor costume like suppose t-bird's quite easy you didn't want to be my t-bird too yeah and that and that he doesn't want to admit it but that was the reason yeah so that's how that came about but i think everyone suddenly thought i think because it did look like a couple's outfit yeah well it just essentially is it looked like a couple's

photo that's why yeah so then everyone thought we're together but we're not that's the truth well you fooled me because i really did as well i messaged you so there was a lot of awkward messages what do you mean awkward messages yeah so so there was a lot of awkward messages because i hadn't announced or anything that i was single like because i've been in a relationship okay that ended like quite a while before that but like you'd not spoken about it online no i just like removed so then people saw it and they were like wait hold on yeah so there's one way to go about it probably not the right way well they know now okay so you're single now yeah okay so we're all singles we can have a single chat about valentine's day yeah okay so if you're dating someone but just dating before you get into a relationship do you do something on valentine's day something small what do you class as something small i don't know to do something big and go for like

a mad gesture for valentine's day just to then stop speaking the next week it's a bit mad that's true yeah no i'm gonna agree on that i feel like something small is good because also i feel like it's kind of up in the air like in the sense of both of you are probably thinking oh do we do something or not so if someone goes massive and does something the other person doesn't I feel like it's just really awkward right yeah and I remember you were saying as well you were like you want that person to show you that sort of love like all year round and not just on valentine's day yeah well I mean I have a thing about valentine's day yeah I know you do I really

know you do I was saying so I've said to Anna before, I'm like, I'm in two ways about Valentine's Day as a whole, because I feel like if someone loves me, they should want to show me every day that they love me, not just Valentine's Day that is completely just commercial and for them to get more money. Like, I would rather you get me two bunches of flowers than the than the price of one on valentine's day which is double the price because it's

valentine's day but with that in mind would you be annoyed if the person you were seeing didn't do something on valentine's day but then i was gonna say i would also get a fomo so my thing is like that's all well and good like do it all the way through the year whatever but like there's no harm in having one day do it all the way through the year or whatever. But like, there's no harm in having one day where it's like, oh, we both put all this stuff aside. Yeah, no. Yeah.

Do you know what I mean? Yeah, no, I definitely agree. But don't you think that I'd just be cuter if it wasn't Valentine's Day? It was just because. But you do that outside of Valentine's Day as well. Valentine's Day is just a day where everyone does it at the same time. Yeah, that's true. I mean, yeah, I'm not complaining about Valentine's Day. if i'm with someone like i would get fomo so i mean i'm all here for it but i'm just like my point is i don't understand when people go so much on valentine's day but then do

nothing else throughout the year yeah i understand if they didn't literally nothing like all the way through the year but i do on valentine's day i would like a little something to be honest guys i'm probably just a bit petty because i don't really think i've ever done anything on valentine's day so i haven't either i feel like that's the the trap as well with relationships is like some girls are black i don't want anything and it's like you should do stuff all the way through the year and then you don't do something and then they're like you was meant to do something and that that's it's that you should have known that as a guy yeah by them saying they don't want you to do something that is them screaming for you to do something i mean i've never fell into the trap because i'm always like i know that that's gonna that's gonna be problems so i've never fell into the trap but i

know people that have fell into the trap and they're digging for a while it's just a lot that is so funny so have you ever had a bad valentine's day experience no i don't think so i don't know if i've had necessarily a bad i have but it's because i got like i was talking to this boy on valentine's day and he finished it with me on valentine's day i remember where i was because it hurt that much i was in asda on valentine's day and i was with three of my friends who were also buying stuff for their partners on valentine's day and i was in as i just got finished with so i was with everyone else buying all their wine and food and all shit just go back a second what was his excuse to end it with you on valentine's day you do know this but he had a sex addiction it's this one

not sex addiction sorry porn addiction oh he had a porn addiction sorry wrong one wrong one that was the other guy the other guy sorry he had a porn addiction i vaguely remember this but still but like what a day to end it on he ended things with a real life woman yep to favor his porn addiction yeah interesting each their own i don't personally understand it yeah did you did you yeah i'm still confused did you say to him at the time on Valentine's Day really I remember being absolutely baffled like I just I could I feel like I couldn't believe my luck more than anything because it was like the first Valentine's Day where I was going to do something with someone

and then that and I was just like well like what like what I can't even remember what I said to be honest I never spoke to him after that yeah I'm not surprised oh yeah i'm definitely not surprised so i have had a very bad valentine's day experience so fingers crossed for a better one this year yeah anna's actually doing something on valentine's day oh yeah i am for the first time congratulations thank you unless you can't tell me on the day don't go to asda no i'm gonna stay away from asda i'm gonna avoid asda we're gonna be living through you so you enjoy and she doesn't know what she's doing which is actually the best part you're getting surprised i'm getting surprised but we are only dating we're not like together

so i don't know what we're gonna do i'm assuming we're going for dinner but they've been dating a long time a long time yeah a long time yeah we yeah kind of is it one of those where you're basically together but because it's been that long you don't need to say it things not really i think because i went traveling a lot whilst we were like seeing each other so i wasn't really here to get to know him that well which i don't know if that's an excuse or not but like i was in australia i was the other side of the world for six weeks which yeah so like trying to build something whilst you're the other side of the world is quite hard so i feel like i've just taken it really slow but all in all we haven't speak

for maybe like five six months so i guess it's a long time yeah it's a lot i feel like you should be doing yeah then yeah you've just been seeing each other for a few weeks yeah you know a valentine's day is kind of granted when it's been like that yeah i mean he booked it in january bloody hell he was i feel like i feel like no i feel like she's onto a winner actually when it's been like that long. Yeah, I mean, he booked it in January. Bloody hell. He was eager, wasn't he? No, I feel like she's on to a winner, actually. I do feel like I am, maybe. Yeah, he booked it January 4th

because I remember the day he told me. So are you doing something for him? So this is the thing, right? I feel like I should, but I don't know what to do because I've never done it before. He's done all the booking. I'm pretty sure he's bought me flowers because he made a joke about it the other day about me having like something delivered. So like, what, what do you do for a boy on Valentine's day? What would you want someone to do for you on Valentine's day? I'm not going to say the first one that came into my head, but it's a lot harder for like,

that one's granted. It's like, it's a lot harder for like... That one's granted. It's like, it's a lot harder for girls getting stuff for guys though. Because there's the hallmark stuff that you can get for girls in it. The flowers, the bottles of wine, whatever. Like with guys, we don't really have that. Have you ever been bought flowers? No. Would you want to be bought flowers?

I'm the kind of person that's like, I'll buy someone flowers for the gesture. Because I know they enjoy it. But I'm also like, they're just pointless. They don't actually smell nice. And they they're gonna die in like a week right but i'll do it in flowers i'll do it for the gesture for someone else because i know that they'll appreciate it yeah yeah i don't want flowers no i get you not or get you definitely not you especially i feel especially. I feel like if I... I'm honestly really trying to think back. Like, I've been, as you all know, in a few relationships. And I've really...

Like, my Valentine's Day must have been so crap every time because I don't remember a single one of them. I literally can't remember what I've ever done on Valentine's Day. Did they buy you flowers? I feel like i must have got bought flowers no i feel like i would have said something if i didn't but i probably still would have done that oh no no i don't want flowers it's fine um i remember before i was with my ex-boyfriend before we were together it was valentine's day and i got sent flowers and this

is before we were together and we wasn't speaking that long. But we didn't obviously do anything because we weren't even together. But actually being in a relationship, I can't remember what we did. But from my point of view, if I was with someone, I'd probably, I don't know, yeah, surprise them with something.

But you're getting surprised. So it's a bit like you can't book anything. Yeah, I can't. Yeah. I'm getting picked up at seven. That's all I know. Yeah, that's a bit of a sticky one yeah because you don't even know if it's something you can take

with you to wherever you're going that's what i mean i will have a thing i'll have a thing can you do like a cute breakfast thing make heart-shaped eggs i'll get a heart-shaped cutter you can get those you get those toast cutters to say i love you you can tell we've not said i love you yet whoa not even in a relationship yeah not that i love you yet what if he pops the question on valentine's day right so i've thought about this and i feel really bad saying this if i had to kind of sway him off doing it the other day because i think he listens to the podcast oh he does listen so i feel bad okay don't do it don't do it on valentine's day because i would like an anniversary that's not valentine's day yeah for our like getting to do you know what i mean for me like i don't like it when people are asked out on birthdays or valentine's day or christmas when people get engaged on

christmas i was just about to say when people get engaged on Christmas I don't like it I feel like you need a separate anniversary a separate day to look forward to in the year very true would you say yes

if someone asked you out on Valentine's Day if I really like them yeah but I'll be thinking really that's annoying yeah it depends who in it yeah yeah I think if someone proposed to me on Christmas I'd say no I don't want to get proposed to on Christmas I want the day to be all about me and I don't want

you'd just be like don't post it yet we'll say yeah but do it here we'll do it here we'll say you said it then do you know another thing that i've always said i never ever want to get proposed to if my nails aren't done like the person i'm with should know that my nails need to be done so you can get like a nice picture with the ring yeah like imagine having like snapped acrylics when you've been proposed to and you're trying to keep picture of the ring i mean i haven't got great hands anyways so like if my nails weren't

and it was both our legs on the sofa and everyone i thought like everyone thought oh my god soft launch soft launch i will be honest when you post i did think who's that like i was looking at his feet no i did think to myself who is she with yeah it's me and my dad it's as exciting as it gets girls are crazy with the investigations that you'll get girls that will work out exactly who it is buy his socks or something yeah i feel like i've seen stuff like that happen it's crazy i think as when you become a best friend it's like your role to also be able to like stalk for them oh yeah that's just what you take on as a girl friendship. See, girls are so in people's business. As guys, we're like, cool, do your thing.

I feel like we have a reason to need to search. Yeah. None of my friends have ever asked me to stalk a girl for them. And I would never ask them because I'm just like... we've definitely sat there and done that yeah that's wild but even just from like speaking about the guy that i was seeing on this podcast so he's on private no one's ever gonna be able to see any of his stuff do you know how many follow requests he got no because he messaged me and he was like i just need to ask you like out of nowhere i've had like hundreds of follow requests and then he showed me and i was just scrolling and scrolling and i was like please don't accept any yeah that is that is nice see i would never stalk someone like i don't know there's like definitely people that i follow that like have like soft launched their boyfriends and stuff or like just showed their hands whatever and i'm like oh i really want to know who her boyfriend is but i'm not going to go my way then

for someone i don't really know to try and like find out who their boyfriend is I don't care that much but if a friend asks me to stalk someone for them I'm so down I'll see I have done both before if I see someone I follow on Instagram do a little soft launch I do think oh who are you dating now and if I've got like a spare 10 minutes like I'm searching we've got a spare 10 minutes okay so would you ever go on a first date on valentine's day no no no no no i do think that's a bit too much pressure that's a lot that's no yeah you're thinking about it so you would well i'm just thinking why would somebody ask you on valentine's day if they have the same beliefs as you they don't really believe in valentine's day yeah it's just another day of the year it's just another day true that it's just it's like 10 times more expensive yeah

awkward clean it down he doesn't want to tell you what he's got planned for valentine's day that's what it is by the way i land back in the uk on valentine's day so you can pick me up from the airport if you want i'm just saying no pressure so apart from the Valentine's Day you're gonna have with Saf this year what's the other best Valentine's Day you've had I took my ex to New York wow yeah that was you stepped up yeah did you tell her before or was it a complete surprise uh it wasn't a complete surprise like wake up we're going to New York but like I told her very briefly before we went and so did you go on valentine's day no we went before so we were there for valentine's day right and then we did new york la back to new york that's quite a good that's a valentine's week

yeah we were there for like two and a half weeks okay i mean i also i was like if i'm going if I'm going then I'm gonna do it yeah so that was your reasoning for booking the trip was for Valentine's Day yeah and then I ended up

extending it to stay for for longer wow I feel like you've really set the standards yep guys listening do you know what

you don't even need to take me home from the airport you can just take me somewhere else there we go job done do you feel like a certain pressure though with valentine's day and you being a male like i don't know so a lot of people wouldn't assume but i'm actually like a hopeless romantic like

deep down maybe not hopeless but i'm a romantic so like okay i'm like i will do if i'm with someone that i actually like see a future with i'll do the gestures and stuff i'll you know i'll treat you like how i would expect my dad to treat my mom do you know what i mean yeah like all these sorts of things like i've grown up with very good role models for how to treat women like that's my granddad's wedding ring that i still wear it because like to them that was like to me they were like the epitome of what it should be so for me like i'll go above and beyond like i should because one day when i have kids grandkids or whatever they can look at it but that's how you treat a woman oh i love that yeah that's quite cute that's so nice that shows you've been brought up right yeah thanks

thanks mum i feel like i feel like guys as a whole though like they must feel a fair bit of pressure i don't know though because like i'm the same in the sense of i love doing things for other people like surprising people but also being i just love surprises like i never understand when but this is just my personal thing I think it's just because I've always grown up like one of my best friends so this is Christmas sorry I'm kind of going off topic but like she would always know what she's getting for Christmas for me that ruins it because I love surprises and so like we'd never know what we're getting for Christmas it would always be a surprise and so like surprises have always been

such a big thing in my family that like surprising someone for me is like one of my favorite things in the world to do so i know like well not if i was a guy but even now like if it was valentine's day and i was with someone like i'd be so excited to plan i wouldn't feel the pressure i'd be like so excited for it yeah and i think it's nice sometimes the roles to be reversed like if I ever get into an actual relationship I would definitely like one year want to be like Valentine's Day in a week and you got no plans no but you know what I mean like I would like to be like be able to be like right I'll take over this year let me do it I think it's nice I feel like if we don't need to say that you should just surprise but then what if

they book something as well what if you book something then you'd have to say something yeah if i was to book something be like right let me do it all this year i'm gonna take you out but listen i told you breakfast he's got you from evening i feel uncomfortable with that though would you see that's interesting would you yeah wow really even on my birthday if someone takes me out for a meal on my birthday and they go to like, I'd sat there like a lemon, just not knowing what to do. Really?
