And today I'm actually very excited because this episode isn't all about me, which I'm quite happy about. It's about Anna's very recent first date she's been on. And I've actually already heard about this. But every time I hear about this first date, it's like hearing it for the first time because it was just very exciting to be honest guys yeah i mean i can't believe i actually went on the date like i held up my end of the bargain

like obviously if you listen to last week's pod i was like yep there's been talks of a potential i didn't think you were gonna go that makes both of us because i also didn't think i was gonna go saying i'm going on this date now i thought where where does this come from? I said it on the pod and I thought that's so funny that I've just said that because I literally have no means of following that up but yeah then I texted Saf like an hour before I was gonna go I was like I'm going on my date now and then she texted me like you're going on your date I went yes I'm actually going on the date but yeah I met him on Hinge and I'm not gonna lie I was so nervous because I've been out of the dating pool for so long and I lost a little bit of confidence in going on like first dates and stuff. And just like speaking to guys in real life, because I just haven't done

that for so long. But then a part, a little part of me was like, no, I need to get back out there. I need to just do it. And then like, once I've done it, I feel like I'll be fine. And I do actually feel so much better for doing it and knowing that like I still have it inside me yeah to go yeah you do girlfriend yeah I do I mean I oh my god guys he's one million percent gonna listen to this so if you are listening to this you're lovely sorry for outing you on the podcast well not outing you on the podcast because I boys don't realize what they sign up to when they're here with us no he did make a joke about me speaking about it on the podcast I was like no yep now my full episode is about him on the podcast well if you're not in a relationship

you're gonna have to hold up before end of the box yeah exactly I mean to guys listening to this if I go on a date with you I promise I won't out every single date that I go on I promise some of them will actually remain a little bit private but this one because like the thing is like I don't want a boyfriend right now I'm really happy on my own I'm really happy single so I don't mind out in this because you can well you can never say never I don't think anything's gonna come from it so okay can I just say by the way i really wish we could see what each other were like on first dates like i would just love to or just like even on dates i'd wish i could be a fly on the wall i know to see what you're like on a first date i mean obviously you have a boyfriend now so i don't know how this would well they could still work we could arrange to go to the same restaurant at the same time.

You could watch me. Yeah, I mean, my depo wouldn't be a first date. So I don't know how like exciting it's going to look. But I spoke about it because Byron said to me about this weirdly the other night. He was like, I'd love to be able to like watch you on a first date. And I was like, yeah, because I joked about him going to a restaurant. But I would just come to the same bar then and watch me. Do you not think you would act different knowing he's there if I knew where he was sat like if I could see him in my eyeline I feel like I'd be so conscious yeah I'm like terrified but if he was like behind me maybe not I don't know but like

it would add another pressure to an already yeah yeah yeah and that approach that I don't need on a first date well maybe me and Byron do it together and we can both sit on a table together because we both want to watch you apparently yeah yeah there you go you both want to watch me on a day next day i go on you two can also sit in the restaurant and watch me try and flirt fucking hell it was actually quite hard to flirt as well because i fancied him and you know i don't find that easy oh yeah you can't flirt people that you fancy. I still think that's so odd. But I,

he hasn't deleted messages no he hasn't can you delete messages on Hinge he's deleted messages on our Hinge. No, I'm being dead serious. I'm actually being dead serious right now because he thought I was a catfish

and all the messages are gone. No. No, babe. But when you say all the messages, like i replied to his prompt saying do you actually do this his reply is send pics i don't know i'm not listening to any podcasts right now but would like to be there was a full message like a load of messages between this where he and that doesn't even make like say for an example he deleted it because he had a girlfriend or whatever if i just say that was no this obviously isn't the case but so it was the case those messages don't even make sense

like why would he keep that message in your message doesn't make any sense so baffled like because we were making jokes about like he was being like fairly rude because he thought i was a catfish and didn't believe that it was actually me well maybe he just feels bad i don't know well we spoke about it on date and he was like and i joked i was like well at least i've seen your bad side now at least i've seen your rude side all the messages are gone i don't know if you have any screenshots there can we just see what messages are there there's still some it's not like he's deleted every message no but he deleted a good chunk between these but anyway we were thinking about podcasts and i think i said

i had a podcast so there we go but that message is now gone so I wouldn't stress about that anymore because it's not in writing so there's nothing else there's no flirting or messages or not like really on the hinge and then he gave me his number okay so then we started texting and then we texted for like two days pretty non-stop it was a bit weird. Like we were both on the chat at all times. It was giving a bit psycho. And we got to know each other really well.

And then the chat just kind of like fizzled out a bit. I don't know. I think we'd just spoken about so much over text, but we got along really well. Anyway, a couple of weeks passed. Start speaking again. We go for a drink. And then he said to me, like, his one rule was that if we go out for a drink,

like, he has to be tame because he's got to get up early to go running the next day. And as soon as he said that, I thought, you ain't going running. There's no way you're going running. So he said this to you in person? No, this was on text before we met um and then yeah we went for a drink he rang me before the date actually it was like half an hour before we went to me and he rang me saying can we push it back half an hour i've just woken up from a nap oh i'm not sure about that and i was obviously like oh yeah that's fine but i also he said he

accidentally fell asleep after work also i was a bit like no okay whatever like yeah like do i mean i'm very like no i'm sorry as a girl you're getting ready for a good hour and a half and if you're just napping what's no that's just and i did i did that new big curly hairstyle on myself that took me time. I love that hairstyle on you. Is that what you went like? Oh my God, I want to see a picture. I went like that.

I'll send you a picture. Like it took me ages. And there he is napping. And he'd just woken up for a nap. So I was like, great. But he did save himself. So obviously I thought I had till half seven now. I was chilling.

I started listening to music. I hadn't got dressed yet. I get a message at five to seven. I'm five minutes away. What started listening to music. I hadn't got dressed yet. I get a message at five to seven. I'm five minutes away. What? Like, sorry. How have you just managed to do that? He'd got on ready. He was like, I really didn't want to be late.

So I literally just like rushed getting ready and got an Uber. So he was actually on time, even though Tom was going to be late. Right, okay. So then I was late. So then you're late, yeah. But now I was late

because you were going to be late. Well, at least he didn't let you get there and then i was late you're late yeah but now i was now i was late because you were going to be late um well at least he didn't let you get there then him be late because that would actually be the worst thing that could happen yeah no he was stood outside the place when i got there which was nice and it was literally downstairs like i didn't have to go anywhere which was nice um so yeah then we met loved his dress sense shout out to you for your dress sense because 10 10 very much my type okay so first reaction when you saw him you was like yeah i love i liked what i saw like dress sense is a bit of me so when i saw that i was like oh and then like he's tall he turned around and i was a bit even more like oh like you look really good in real life I think he's six two six three oh wow okay unsure which

one um but yeah very tall and normally I go for short kings so this was like a nice surprise for me I was very pleasantly surprised I was walking over to him um so yeah then we went for a drink well we had a couple of drinks actually in this first place and we were getting along really really well I was very nervous but I feel like the conversation was just like flowing I can't explain it and I think his like love language or like one of them is like physical touch because he was very like hand on leg like on my chair maybe I just like take note of people's body language more I don't know but I was no but I do think that definitely does show that 100% yeah because like if he was like wasn't doing

that I would be a bit like oh you don't fancy me you're not interested but like yeah he was doing that from literally like first five minutes I was like this is amazing and it shows confidence I think as well like yeah doing that he was very confident like I could tell he was very confident. Like I can tell he was very confident, which was like very much a turn on. And then, yeah, we had drinks and then we went to another bar, got more drinks. I had so many espresso martinis. I don't normally drink espresso martinis. Like why the fuck would I choose to drink espresso martinis on a day?

I love an espresso martini. Oh, they're so good but they it kept me awake like i i've never was he on the same thing or he had he had one espresso martini we had that's what we started with and then he used to be bartender so he was like trying all these different cocktails he's very into his food and drinks. So he was trying these wild ones that I would not even dare go near. And so was he given any red flags or just good, good, good? I wouldn't say he was given any red flags necessarily. There was a few bits that he said that I was a bit like,

but I can't say that I'm gonna have to tell you after because it is not that it's bad no you've got to give us some sort of context can you give us some sort of context without like um it was oh i don't know how to word this guys what was it like opinions on things or um yeah it was opinions on things which differ to my opinions which is fine it was their opinion but it was a bit like okay but other than that I wouldn't say there was any like necessarily like standout red flags like

fuck like what am I doing here it was just like a nice general conversation we got quite deep at some point like in the second bar i think i'd we were quite a few cocktails down at this point and we got very deep in our conversations and we come out the conversation like shit like what have we just spoken about like what have i just told you yeah it was deep um and then i woke up with him over the next morning okay in your bed in my bed right and yeah um yeah it was really good

have you ever done that before I don't think you've ever done that before I've never done that I've never ever heard you say to me I woke up with a boy next to me in my bed in the morning like that's never ever been a thing I have never done that but the to me, I woke up with a boy next to me in my bed in the morning. Like that's never ever been a thing. I have never done that. But the thing is, I barely woke up because I barely slept. Because these espresso martinis kept me actual like neighborhood watch. Like I was awake and I was laying there and a little bit, I'm going to be honest, concerned for my life at that point.

Because I was like, why can't I sleep? I was so baffled. I was so tired. If you don't have caffeine, then that is just always going to be the case. Yeah, because like, I will have like

cans of coke and stuff, but I'm not a coffee drinker, really. See, I have energy drinks every day, so I could be on, give me 10 caffeine, like 10 espresso martinis

want to see your apartment so I was like well you can come and see it then and then he came back and we had like a bottle of wine and stuff. So we carried on drinking when we got back. Right. And it was a good night. And it was a good night. I showed him, I showed him my flat.

Lovely. Yeah, but then. Yeah, next morning, was it awkward? Next morning, it wasn't awkward at all. Like we, honestly, he is probably one of the loveliest people I've ever been on a date with in

terms of like, we got along so well. And even though like, the thing is, he's not looking for a girlfriend. I'm not looking for a boyfriend. So it was a bit like we're on a date. Like,

what are we doing? Like, but it was just fun. And have you both said that in the date? Yeah, we both said that, that we don't want a relationship when we were on the date. Oh my god I always find that so weird. Yeah which yeah to be honest. I get it's so common but like I just wouldn't go out with someone if I

didn't want a boyfriend. Well yes this is what I was saying to Byron and everyone after because I was like I'm like what am I doing on Hinge? I am I on hinge to find a boyfriend or like am I doing it to pass time I was a bit confused but I just feel like when I meet the right person I will just feel that spark and it will then I'll want a boyfriend you're not looking for one but you're not against it you know yeah I'm not like a boyfriend a hundred percent like if the right person came along into my life right now I would accept it with open arms so like i'm not against it i just don't think he was the one um but he was i definitely would see him again like he was so lovely and like people can grow on you and stuff but we woke up the next morning and he was in my dream from the hour of sleep that i did have and i was in his dream and i was like yeah we both said I was like what did you dream about what I dreamt this was so weird that he'd let in to my apartment like my mum Byron and Haz that he was like opening the

door and they were coming into my apartment and I dreamt in my dream that Byron was hugging both of our feet in bed and everyone was around the bed it was so weird and i woke up and i was like whoa so why would i dream that i was like what did you dream about and he was like he dreamt that i was sucking off offset in front of him and he was getting really annoyed like he was really annoyed that I was sucking off off there. That is so weird. And I was like, or was it Future? It was one of them.

Obviously, Future was one of them. And I was like, oh, I was thinking, I was like, that's why you looked annoyed when you were sleeping. Yeah, because you said that he had his arm in the air. Yeah, his arm was like, I don't know if he knows he does this, if I'm out with this, ever so sorry. But like, yeah, he sleeps with his arm up like this. So I could have like put my arm through the hole and like so weird like not on the pillow like in the

air in the air and like he looks like but then he said to me like he said to me that he got upset like a couple times in the night and I was like out like I was out cold I don't remember this like at all so obviously he was out really cold when I was watching him and then he'd go up to go to the toilet and see me he said you like he was like you're the deepest sleeper in the world I knew that anyway like honest like someone could do anything in my living room whilst I'm asleep go for it like I've not got a clue um but yeah so what a wild dream he dreamt that I was sucking off a rapper's dick in front of him and he got really annoyed. Wow.

Well, he's thinking about you when he's sleeping. So there you go. Well, there we go. Well, he was in my dream as well. So it's probably because I've not had a boy in my bed for ages. So do you think you'll see him again or not? I'm not really sure, to be honest. Like we spoke about it at the end.

We were like, oh, that was fun. Like we could see each other again, blah, blah, blah. And we have spoken like a little bit since, but nothing like... Like nothing's been like addressed by another day yeah nothing crazy I think it was what about what about if you entered the friends at benefits um you wanted to I I honestly like you never know I honestly wouldn't be opposed so this could be your person like if neither of you want a relationship you never know yeah I definitely wouldn't be opposed to because i've never i like it needs to be someone that you're attracted to but you don't have feelings towards which is so hard to find this and it kind

of sounds like that i'm not gonna lie it's kind of yeah the fact that you managed to do that before gives me hope because i've always been a bit scared about myself and friends with benefits situations because I'm like am I gonna end up really liking them but and this is no offense to him but I just don't think I'm in the mindset to really like someone so I actually feel like I could be friends with benefits and be completely fine yeah I think you could so babe if you listen just a suggestion no but it but it was really fun. I'm glad I got myself back out there. Definitely did confirm in my head that I'm really enjoying being single

and like working on me and just spending a little bit more time on myself. However, loved doing it. And it's a fun story to tell.
