But I have roast dinners all throughout the year anyway. But oh my God, the amount of roast dinners I've had this December, it should be illegal. No, same. Because the thing is as well, I had like a girls night where I made a roast dinner for all of my friends as well. And that was like on a, that was a midweek thing.

Same. I think it isn't even a Sunday thing anymore. Same. And I cooked. And can I just say cooking for that many people is not for the faint hearted. How many did you cook for? Because I cooked for seven. I cooked for eight.

And I literally felt like the stress I actually felt from like trying to time everything. Because I can cook a roast and it's fine. But when you're cooking that amount of stuff, like roast potatoes for eight people. No, I know. It's just, it's a lot. Well, it's crazy because I actually text my dad because my dad is like the most amazing person ever at roast dinners. And I text him, I was like, can you not call me and tell me me please may you write down in order what needs to go in the oven first and like the timings of when I need to put things in the oven and take things out because I know it's so stupid but first of all I don't cook I hate

cooking I don't think I've ever cooked for anyone let alone myself so the fact that I've like gone and I'm like yeah I'm gonna cook for seven of us It was like the scariest moment of my life because I thought I can't, I can't let this go wrong. I've told all of my friends. A roast dinner is like, that's a hard meal to cook if you don't normally cook because of how many different things are involved.

Yeah. Like, okay, but question though, did you do pigs in blankets? Yes. But, but, I kind of already bought them pre-done. Oh, I bought mine pre-done. Oh, yeah.

I was not adding another thing to the to-do list. I was not wrapping the bacon around the sausage myself. It was just not a thing. That was not happening. I also did cheat and I had freezer roast potatoes. Did you? Yeah, but I still cooked them in goose fat and I still did everything. I just couldn't be bothered to peel that many potatoes.

Right, okay. Well, I technically cheated too because I bought honey roasted carrots already honey roasted oh okay oh they are absolutely sensational and they come with parsnips as well parsnips and carrots honey roasted oh banging oh what in the freezer section or in the fresh section no in the in the fresh section oh they're so the fresh section. Oh, they were so good. So, so good. Yeah. And do you know what?

I just felt like I had a lot to prove because I've, like the fact that I signed myself up to this, all my friends, they must have said to me a thousand times, even on the day of, they were like, are you sure you don't want to cook it together?

Because I think also everyone's like terrified that I'm probably going to be very poison. Are they a bit worried? Yeah. Yeah. And I was like, yeah and don't worry I've got this I've got this and I felt like I had so much to prove and I only went and smashed it out but you've done it exactly you've done it we've both cooked a massive roast and I'm very

waking your kids up. But they wake their kids up and then their dad, so obviously the parent's dad, dresses up as Santa and like from behind puts the presents under the tree and the kids come down

And I still, to this day, don't know how he managed to do this, but like there was a, there was like a DVD case under the the tree and we played it and he was dressed up as santa god knows how i didn't realize it was him um and they're like there was like confetti dropping and snow dropping from above him and then like my present dropped on his lap and he filmed him putting it under the tree and i remember i watched it and i was like oh my god santa's been and then obviously as i got older and i got that video to

watch back and be like, oh my God, that's so cute that he did that. But like, yeah, it's honestly, there's so many

like amazing Christmas editions. The little elf, elf on the shelf. I know, I know. Oh my God. Some of the TikToks I've seen of elf on the shelf

have me fucking dying. Yeah. I mean, they're so funny. There's this one of Blake the other day. My brother put all of his underwear

on the tree. He is crying his eyes out. No, his underwear on the tree he is crying his eyes out no no but he's crying his eyes out and casey's like there's other underwear you can wear and he's like no i want to wear this one and basically he was just so embarrassed that his underwear was all over the tree i was like casey you're so mean have you seen that one where um the i think it's a little girl and the elf like was obviously her mom it's obviously her mum, but draws on her face. Yeah. And she's going to be late for school.

The glasses. Well, I can't wait to do that with our kids. To be fair though, like, there's so many Christmas traditions now that, like, when we are parents, we've got a lot to debunk too. It's going to be hard work. December is giving booked and busy when we have kids. To all the parents out there honestly you're killing it because i'd rather be you than me yeah honestly i'm not quite

ready for that yet anyway now christmas is over we've got new years to look forward to in a few days which is exciting i'm so excited for new years i have quite a big new years this year i think that's why yeah you've got a really exciting new years yeah and i feel like the days in between christmas and new years is always so boring it's always a bit like meh but i don't know the days between like christmas and new years like i can't remember what day christmas for well i know that new year's day is on a monday this year which may i've already said makes my heart so incredibly happy but the days in between christmas and new year i don't know what day is i don't know what date it is never really look at the time nor do

i care it's just like the nicest like how many days is it six days five six days where you can literally just do nothing and i don't feel guilty about it at all but it's weird though isn't it because it's just another day but like that's like my week off I'm like I look forward to that so much see usually like that's I do nothing in between those days and I normally find them so boring but now I actually have a boyfriend this year and it's his only time off I'm pretty much spending every day with him so that's gonna be so fun though what are you gonna do are you doing like are you doing stuff or are you just chilling or i don't really know to be fair i just feel like it's gonna involve a lot of drinking even before

new year's um that's fun though my parents and his parents are meeting each other for the first time on well the day before new year's eve because i'm having a new year's on, well, the day before New Year's Eve. Because I'm having a New Year's Eve party, but then the day before he's playing a game. So we're all going to go watch his game. So that'll be really nice. But before that... Oh, that's going to be so fun. Yeah. And I'm not traveling up with my family.

I'm traveling up with his family. So I'm going to like meet my family there. So yeah, I basically have his house for like five days until New Year's. So I don't know. It might still involve kind of doing nothing. But yeah, it seems like I've got a bit of a busier in between limbo stage this year. Because normally it's a bit like,

well, you kind of are left a bit limbo, like up in the air, aren't you? Yeah, normally there's literally nothing. I think, well, I'm going to stay at home until, I don't really know when, to be honest. I actually have no plans for those days I actually have nothing I'm going to Disneyland though yeah like first week of January now oh my god I'm real yeah we're going for three days I surprised all my friends with the trip

which was giving it was giving pricey but I was like the memories I was like it's gonna be so fun and like normally in January I think it's just such a slow month. I never know what to do with myself. I've got a fair few New Year's resolutions that I want to complete this year. But I was like, I feel like you can't start off the year in a better place than Disney. So I was like, yeah, that's going to be perfect.

So I'm looking forward to that in those five days. Other than that, I have literally no plans. So you're going to have to... What about New Year's Eve? Are you going out? No, I'm not going to'm not gonna go out because yeah I'm not getting old oh I'm gonna have a drink I definitely will have a drink and like I'm gonna be with all my friends and stuff but I just actually want to have a bit more of a wholesome new year's I don't want to get to drink I want to get up on january 1st and i'm

going to go to the gym i'm a gym girly now are you how yeah i'm 2024 20 yeah i do not know how this has happened like this is just i've completely switched up it probably also is because my friend callum has moved into my building so now we can go to the gym together which i find it so much more motivating when i can just message him and be like should we go to the gym and then we'll go to the pool after go to the sauna chill in there and I'm not as like scared as I was because I was terrified to try all the machines in the gym because it's yeah I do think the gym when you haven't been is such a scary place it's so intimidating and too many good-looking men in there for me too Too many. Like it's bad in the

lobby, let alone in the fucking gym. So I was like, oh my God, I can't. I literally go to my treadmill section and do not leave. But yeah, I've been like branching out and it's been fun. So that's how literally I'm going to spend my January 1st. Yeah. See, I really want to do that January 1st, but I just know that's not going to happen. If I'm throwing a party, it's not going to happen. Let's be honest. Yeah, no, but you've got January 2nd for that, though. I know. And that's the thing.

I feel like I'm going to be drinking more because I'm going to be nervous because, like, my family, my boyfriend's family, my brother's girlfriend's family, that everyone's meeting each other for the first time. Yeah, that is a lot. Because it's, like, held in my house. I'm going to feel so... Not, like, nervous because I know everyone's going each other for the first time so I feel like because it's like held in my house I'm gonna feel so not like nervous because I know everyone's gonna get on so well but yeah almost just I feel like there's a big thing yeah 100% but it's a big thing that's

so exciting though yeah and actually saying that my parents and his parents would have met the day before his game but like oh that's still it's still you know the first time that like everyone's together and so yeah currently my current situation is every time I go to the shop I come back with alcohol like bottles and bottles and I'm like just collecting to stock up every time to stock up yeah okay love that what are you what alcohol are you getting you getting vodka you're getting wine what sort of vibe are you going for come on it's a barker family everything a barker family a barker party so absolutely everything yeah okay absolutely love that right let's throw it back then so we spoke about new years let's talk about boxing day what is your favorite way to spend boxing day like how do you normally spend

that day so for me years for years and years growing up, we never did anything on Boxing Day. We just didn't. I think because we always had such a big Christmas, we never really felt like we needed to do much on Boxing Day. My dad's birthday is on Christmas Eve, and we would always open like one present on Christmas Eve as well, and we'd go out for dinner on Christmas Eve. And then Christmas Day, there was always so many of us

who never really did anything. The last few last few years though my best friend's family have had a party every Boxing Day so we've gone there they're not having it this year well they didn't have it this year but then another one of my mum's friend had a party this year so we went did that for Boxing Day which is really fun so fun basically got more drunk drank loads ate loads it was like Christmas Day all over again. But Boxing Day I never really feel like is a big deal. I wouldn't really care where I am. Like, it's always different for me.

You don't really have any traditions. How about you? When I was younger, I felt like the Boxing Day sales were a really big thing that me and my mum always used to do. Like we'd get up really early and we'd go shopping because everything was like ridiculously cheap. So we'd get up really early and we'd go shopping because everything was like ridiculously cheap. like to me Boxing Day is just like another day. Like, I won't do anything. Like, I literally will just watch films and will have all the leftover food. Okay, what food would you have on Boxing Day? Do you have turkey sandwiches? No, I've never had a turkey sandwich before. What? Are you joking? No, maybe I've tried one in a video from like Pret or something, but I've never made a turkey sandwich. Oh my God, you don't have the leftover turkey.

No, I'll have bubble and squeak. What's bubble and squeak? Where you're like, oh my God, have you never had bubble and squeak? Right, okay, we've got to try each other's meal on Boxing Day this year. So bubble and squeak is like mashed potato, but mixed with all of the leftovers from Christmas dinner. Oh, I'm not sure. So it is a bit, it sounds a bit rogue, but you can buy it as well from the shop.

Like you can buy a, like a ready meal, like bowl and squeak around Christmas time. I have never heard of that in my life. Let me see. Hang on. Let me just. Really?

Yeah. Let me just quickly Google the exact content of what is in it. Your leftover roast dinner with mash. Yeah. I don't think you're fully meant to put the full thing in, but I always put the full thing in. You're literally getting everything, the mint sauce and it all.

Bubba's Creek is a British dish made from cooked potatoes and cabbage, but I don't use cabbage. We have like Brussels and stuff. But essentially, I'll just mix all my roast dinner together and have it the next day. But it's so good. And I'll have it with like, this is so fucking disgusting when I say it out loud, but like pickled onions.

Oh no. Which is, this is, yeah, this is everything. Yeah, but like pickled onions oh no which is this is yeah this is i'm not sure how i feel about this pickled onions maybe some crackers on the side with like cheese and like cold meats and stuff and olives aka your worst nightmare aka my absolute worst nightmare yeah i can't ever imagine seeing that plate in front of your face i will be honest sandwiches i don't even think my family, if I told them this, would even know what that is. I honestly don't think they ever would have heard of it.

but i would still like say is that could say the only thing is pizza yeah if there's a microwave i'm putting it in the microwave well it's even like pasta i can't i was so weird i was literally having this conversation last night i can't have cold pasta but i love pasta but i can't have it cold you know the pasta pots that you'd get in the meal deal section? Yeah, never. I would still heat that up in the microwave. So would I. If I have it, there's no way I'm eating that cold.

It's so much better warm so yeah anyway bubble and squeak right so this okay so i need to try a turkey sandwich yes yeah with what sauce i can't have that dry well i have ketchup but i think that's wrong no i feel like no that's that's fine you can have ketchup with it i feel like when I have ketchup with it, my mum tells me it's gross. But also I actually could have ketchup with anything. Genuinely. I don't really like like cranberry sauce. No, see, I don't.

I think that's what my parents would have with it. I like horseradish, but I don't know if that's a bit too far to having a turkey sandwich. But you know, like you have turkey sandwiches cold, but I'm the only person ever that heats it up. And my family think that's bizarre. cold together so basically saf loves a winter relationship because you can be cold together you can be cold together. You can get warm together. You can be cold together when you're cold. You can get warm together. What? That's the only reason to date during the Christmas season. No, what I'm trying to say is you just want to cuddle someone more in Christmas time than you do summer. Am I right or am I right?

than on my own anyways anyways I think I think you should I don't feel like you shouldn't sue it just because it's Christmas time the only thing I would say is I feel like during the like the holiday season things move a bit quicker because people have more time on their hands and because of this the only thing I would say is if you're just getting into relationships someone maybe like don't jump all in and be like oh I'm gonna go spend Christmas day with you because I feel like Christmas day is a memory you have for the rest of your life and like if you are just speaking to someone and you spend Christmas day with them and like it doesn't last then that's how you remember I don't know I feel

like Christmas day is such an important day at least for me it is anyways I think for me like dating around Christmas time I would have to be I would have to really like someone if I was gonna involve them like in my Christmas plans or like my new year's plans like if I was just seeing someone and I'd only been on a couple of dates with them I don't think I would personally rush into being like should we spend New Year's Eve together or like should we spend Boxing Day together just because I don't know like maybe I've never done it before I feel like I'd need to be like actually in a relationship for that to happen but then like the thing is when did I do this not last Christmas the year before

I remember because my mum's birthday on the 22nd so I always go home around like the 20th and I was on hinge so much because I was so bored like I was having a lovely time but like I was just laid there for like two days doing nothing so I was like serial swiping on hinge but like I was getting no responses really none because like nobody was really like on well obviously people were on the app but like not I got a couple of merry Christmases probably at the time like that but people won't message you on hind or Christmas day yeah I remember I did get a merry Christmas I didn't go on the app on Christmas day but when I went back on it I was like oh my god that is so funny yeah imagine imagine messaging someone that you've never met on Christmas day on your Christmas day Merry Christmas on Hinge I know wow he must have really liked you he must

have really enjoyed my profile that's all I'm saying but um yeah like I don't know just dating at that time I feel like now because obviously well we're in that time and I'm single, I've kind of just put it to a bit of a halt on the whole like dating side of it. Like I was going on Hinge and I've kind of got to the point where I'm like, I don't think I'm going to find my forever partner on this app because I'm looking for it. And I feel like I should stop looking for it.

you actually shouldn't settle I feel like we're so going off topic but like even from my boyfriend I was just because I would look at my best friend and her boyfriend and honestly they're so cute and like the way that he treats her the things that he does for her and I would always say to her like I'm not settling into a boy does that for me but I still like in the back of my head thought like I honestly don't think I'm gonna find a boy that does as much for me as he does for her yeah and then I literally found that and it honestly came from no yeah not looking for it yeah yeah 100% I know that that will happen I feel like that's why around Christmas time I'm just like I'm just gonna enjoy it with my friends

and family and then next year maybe 2024 we literally said this at the end of 2022 about maybe we're like 2023 is gonna be the year of the boyfriend and it was it was for a bit actually it kind of was yeah I did have a boyfriend for a couple months so maybe it was for me actually yeah it kind of was it kind of was yeah I did have a boyfriend for a couple months so maybe it was for me so yeah exactly it was for you so hopefully next year for me it will okay let's leave it back around to new year's what are you wearing this new year's eve I actually have no no I have no idea but I am gonna dress I love dressing well I love dressing up honestly even on christmas day a lot of people think it's so weird but me and my family all get so dressed up yeah i've

always seen that that you guys always get dressed up whereas i've never put a makeup on on christmas day yeah see i find it i find it crazy that people just well i don't find it crazy that people sit in their pajamas at all actually i think it's really But yeah, I don't know what it is. Like we always get dressed up. Yeah, I know you do. Like we genuinely point heels and dresses. Yeah, but I think that's lovely though. It would be so nice to get dressed up and like, I don't know, have a drink.

I think that's so lovely. Yeah, I would love to do that one year. Well, I think it's also because like on Christmas Day, we travel to someone's house. So like if it's like my aunties or whatever, even if it's coming over to like or whatever, even if it's coming over to like our house, it's they're coming over.

So like, they're just not going to turn up in their pajamas. And I feel like that when you know you have plans like that, you'll go into where someone's coming over, you have the incentive to get ready. Whereas like,

if you were just sitting in the house all day, you probably wouldn't want to sit in a sequined dress with heels on. No, exactly. And the thing is, even when it has been at our house, because of people coming over, we just feel like we should get dressed whereas like you know maybe if it was just like my like you know my family that live at home then maybe we would not

but there's always more people so I think that's just always why we've got dressed up but yeah new year's eve I cannot wait to get dressed. I actually really wanted to do a thing this year for my party that I'm having, but everyone's not feeling it aside from me. So that's good. Why? What theme were you going to do? Well, I had a few different ideas. So last year I had a New Year's Eve party and I did, you had to come as the first letter of your name.

You can come as anything. So obviously being Saffron i went as sandy from greece i remember seeing this and to be fair like everyone went so all out it was so good like my friend ike he came as an literal iphone like a huge cardboard iphone it was crazy that's so fun i love a dress-up party and like someone came as like a blow up dinosaur it was just so good so good that is so good but that was like

house house party whereas like this year okay I'm throwing a party but and it's probably going to be even more crazy because my parents

love a drink are wild but it's not quite like my parents are a bit like really like you really want us

to do fancy dress when it's like family are you joking I get what you mean like if you're what okay your mom starts with w if you're gonna do fancy dress what could well I wasn't gonna do that I had a different idea oh what was your idea um which I've seen on tiktok and it's where you have to come with a partner basically I think I was doing it because I know what i wanted me and my boyfriend to go as and but it's like a rhyme one so you basically come with a partner and you have to rhyme with them so it could be anything so like it could be um am i on the right lines of thinking like one of you dressed as like a can and then one of you dresses as like a nan yes yeah okay like that's it thing. That's it, yes.

Okay. Oh my God. So I wanted us to do, I wanted me to be bride and then my boyfriend to be Mr. Worldwide. You get it? So that's what I mean by that. Oh, love that.

Yeah, yeah. Oh, that's such a cool idea. I've never seen anybody do that before. Yeah, no one else was feeling it. It was just me. Why? Oh, I think that's so fun. I also do understand though,

like with everybody's families like meeting and stuff you probably don't want to walk in as a bride and Mr Worldwide and then everyone has to be like what are you do I mean that is a lot yeah it would have been a lot but there you go guys that is a good party idea that is a really good party idea I actually do love fancy dress to be fair I do love it um I think if I was if I wasn't having a party though I don't think I'd go out I think I would just be at home and I'd happily not have fancy dress so yeah I think this new year's I'm not gonna lie I don't think I'll be getting that dressed up I have some nice new year's outfits that I could potentially wear but I think because we're just

having like a it's not well I say's not going to be a house party. Everybody always says that. And then you start having a couple of drinks and then it turns into a house party that you wake up, you don't go to bed until six. So technically I'm going to a house party, but I don't think anybody's going to get dressed up. I feel like we're going to be in like joggers and jumpers sort of vibe. Just like a nice, like cozy one, but still like kind of party. This is such a tradition for me. And we've done it a couple of times as well where I watch the fireworks on the tv oh I do that every year even with the part like even

at a party always the countdown's on always watch the fireworks you've got to but oh my god you know what I I've had some good new years right they've always been very chill but one new year's I really want to spend it in Australia and go to go to sydney and watch the fly works over sydney have you seen it on social media yeah it looks insane oh my god it actually looks phenomenal yeah and the idea of also being super warm and having like a boiling hot christmas oh i don't mind that for new year's eve no new year's eve i feel like it's so fine it'd be warm new year's eve amazing christmas i don't not as much i don't think no see i wouldn't want to be there for Christmas. I like being cold on Christmas.

Same, because their tradition is to have like a barbecue on the beach for Christmas. That's just crazy. That's what they do. And I just can't, I saw someone's story the other day and they were in Australia and they were like, so excited, it's now summer and it's Christmas. And I thought those two words should never mix.

Like, that's just not right. Yeah, see, I really don't think it'd feel like Christmas it wouldn't feel like Christmas for me no need I feel like living in England we associate Christmas as being like cold as you said and being cold together so being cold together have you ever done fancy dress for new year's eve not i've done fancy dress like for normal parties but never for new years i honestly i kid you i don't think i've ever dressed up properly for new years i've never been out on new years what so why aren't you going out this like i've never been out if i wasn't having a party i would stay at home because the drinks are way too over price it's so busy that's i mean and manchester on new year's eve you actually first of all i think you're actually gonna have to book stuff months in advance which I've definitely missed by now um I probably would have had to book it in like September maybe or October um and just the

queues like and the cut like queuing in the cold in a little dress and then imagine missing midnight not even getting in the club you just you're in the queue when it turns 12 like the whole idea of it sounds amazing but then like the logistics of it don't sound as great. So I feel like I do just prefer to be like in the house. One year though, I definitely do need to do something like that. Yeah, I feel like, right, the logistics of it aren't actually that great, but I feel like you've got to experience it at least once. I know, especially like whilst I'm living in the city as well, I feel like I need to experience a New Year's Eve out in Manchester

and like get all dressed up. Maybe I'll persuade everybody this year to get dressed up. But said though at least you're gonna wake up on the first and like you know feel that you really have that new year new me i hope so i mean to be honest babe we've had house parties every other year and i've woken up looking feral like i actually can't like i when i say feral i mean I look like an actual feral cat. Like, I have the picture of myself. I'm going to have to show you. I don't think I've ever, well, I've shown, like, two people

because Callum has it on his phone. I woke up, my hands, I woke up like this. What, because you got so drunk? I was so drunk and I planned on not drinking, well, not drinking, but just having a couple and having, like, a nice chilled one. and I woke up looking like a feral cat what is it with all of us just getting far too drunk on New Year's Eve I don't know you just get carried away though because you're with everyone that you love and like yeah and I think you're like celebrate the year and it's my downfall

is do you want another shot let's do a shot I'll go to somebody else do you want a shot yeah why I don't need to do that like that is yeah that is one habit actually oh my god that's going to be my new year's resolution just stop the shots stop the shot i don't know who's worse at me and you to be fair it's awful it's actually awful we need to stop doing it because i'll go to the bar and i'll buy like 10 at a time and hand them out and nobody wants one so i don't even know why i do it yeah it's the most bizarre thing okay so question if a guy asked you out on new year's eve what would you like what would you think would you go on new year's eve ask me out on a date

on new year's eve yeah it's a bit weird but then, listen, then he does want to go into 2024 with you. So... I think it depends how... Like, are we... We're not talking first date? Oh, no, first date. First date, absolutely not. Would you? No. No way.

No. Well, no, I just think it'd just be a really weird date. But then what if he was like... Okay, what if he had, like, mutual friends and he was like, come out with all of us? If... Yes, it... But then would it be a date though i thought you meant like if it's if it's okay maybe it's not a date but like you're meeting him for the first time he's like come out with all of us like i'd love to see you blah blah blah if my friends are also going to be there because we

have mutual friends one million percent but like if it was just going to be us two i'd have too much fomo about like not spending it with everybody else else yeah like I'd want to be with my friends more than I think I'd want to be on a first date on New Year's but at the same time the idea of it kind of sounds fun like if it was a mutual friend I'd love to that would be such a cool way to meet just being like oh hi I'll be like there's always this thing of like people breaking up before the new year like because they want a fresh start whereas like this would mean that he really wants to go into the new year with you so it's kind of a compliment maybe it is a compliment maybe i wouldn't say maybe i wouldn't say no oh go on what are you gonna say i was gonna say you know the worst thing i think i've ever done and you know this and I was very young so give me the benefit of

the doubt but this was my first ever relationship and it really wasn't very long the worst thing I've done is broken up with someone on New Year's Eve because and my excuse was I wanted a fresh start but hear me out, right? I didn't know you did this. Yeah. Do you not remember? Oh my God, so mean. Like I look back and I'm like,

that is horrible, Saffron. Because you wanted a new start. Well, that was my excuse. But there obviously was more to it than that, surely. Yeah. But that's just the worst excuse I've ever heard. Basically, I was literally like 14 years old that my first boyfriend i think i dated him for literally like i'm talking two months six

weeks maybe even like six weeks like not a long time i was 14 years old okay and i remember this is nearly 10 years ago so this is excused yeah oh my god that's really crazy i was 10 years ago. So this is excused. Yeah. Oh my God. That's really crazy. 10 years ago. I was 14. Yeah, I was just thinking to myself, that makes me feel sick. Yeah. That actually makes me feel sick.

10 years ago. Wow. We are getting old. I think I was like 13. I was even younger than that. Okay, so actually 10 years ago then. Yeah, I was 13 years old. Yeah, I literally dated this guy for like six weeks.

And I remember I was on the bus with my friend and I was like, I really just don't want him to be my boyfriend anymore. And he was on holiday. And she was like, well, you're best off doing it before the new year. And so basically my best friend at the time told me that I should say to him, I think it's good if we have a fresh start for the new year. How terrible was that? What did he say?

Oh, he was gutted. Well, and did you, obviously you didn't get back with him. No, did you actually just leave it? That was it? Yeah, that was it. And he was on holiday. You, oh my God, babe.

Well, the thing is, he was away for like a month. That was even why it lasted like six weeks. He probably was together for a few weeks. Oh, right, okay. Oh, okay. But still, oh my God, I can't believe. To be honest though, like you said, you were 13.

If somebody used that excuse on me now, I'd be like, are you being serious? Oh, if someone used that excuse on me now, like, oh, I want a fresh start. That's not, that is crazy. Yeah, I'd be like. If someone said, I don't want to be with you, then it's good for a fresh start.

That's probably the worst thing you could ever say to someone that's not gonna make anyone feel remotely better me too because that is that is actually one of the worst excuses i think that anybody could use for a breakup on me i would be gutted especially around that time of year as well that i'd put my year off to the worst start yes humanly possible like january blues january shite anyway i don't know Yes. um oh policeman and something an angel and a bagel no that's angel and a bagel my boyfriend's going as a bagel that doesn't even rhyme with angel right come on think of something this is so hard you know it's such a good one for you because i'm looking at everything i'm like well i don't want to dress up as that nurse and a purse no i can't do that oh no you can't go as a purse that's awful no because i really really really want this to happen because you basically promised now that you're going to go as whatever you say next year.

Yeah, but the ones in my head, I can't dress up as that. I've got like Drake and a rake. Like I can't go as Drake and a rake with my boyfriend. I can't go as a rake. My boyfriend would look so hot as Drake. Then what? I'm a fucking garden tool. That's not cute for New Year's. But I will think of one.

I'm going to have to think. I can't think of one now, but in the next podcast episode, we'll come up with my decision of what I'm going to wear. Okay. To New Year's 2024. A year from now.

So my mum doesn't set new year's resolutions because she's like what's the point you don't stick to them but i do stick to them not for the entire year but at least for a good month and that's better than nothing that's the way that i see it completely great i think it just gives you that little bit of like motivation and like exactly for january that you need i'm trying to think what mine is this year to be honest well mine's a lot of the same like you, you know, get fit, eat healthy. I don't want to drink anywhere near as much. I've drank so much this year. I would like to leave it on New Year's Eve, honestly.

Agreed on that one. I need to stop drinking too many cans of Coke. That is my New Year's resolution. I need to stop drinking so many energy drinks. coke that is my new resolution i need to stop drinking so many energy drinks yeah that is honestly like i'm not going to go cold turkey i'm not going to do that because i think i actually will have withdrawal symptoms which might sound a bit dramatic to some people but like i heavily rely on i really enjoy that drink um so i'm going to try and stop i'm going to limit myself to like one a week maybe that's maybe a bit much maybe two a week one a week one a week yeah that's one

of my new year's resolutions I think one of my new year's resolutions as well is genuinely to stop spending so much money it's going to be the year of like saving you know really being a good homeowner that like you know yeah the second a bill comes through, she pays it. Oh yeah, she's punctual. She's on time. Do you know what? I want it to be the year of adulting, getting my life together.

I love that. I'm with you on that one. Next year, we are adults. We're going to be adults. Like we are adulting. We're going to be adults. Yeah, proper adults. No energy drinks, no can to cope we're

paying our bills we're here god it does sound a bit boring and depressing that's for sure i know bless us actually bless us yeah i think i would like it to be the year as well that i don't worry so much also agree on that one because this year I've definitely lived in the moment but like next year I want to get my life together but also just take everything as it comes same because the thing is I think I always will be a worrier but like what's the point in worrying because you can't change it anyway no I know and I think it's gonna happen this year yeah so we've got some good new resolutions I'm proud of it let's see how much we stick to them though yeah i'm gonna write a huge list in fact i actually can't

wait to do like my vision board and like write my list out vision board oh my god i can't wait to make my vision board no neither can i and i want this to be the year that i achieve the first time in my life at the end of the year take it off and be be like, wow, I did what I said I was going to do. And that is what I'm going to do in those limbo days. I'm going to make a vision board. Yeah, that's such a good idea. Because I think you have nothing else to do. So why not get your 2024 ready? I've still got mine up there from last year. Because I just keep it there. That's my problem. I lose mine every year. You need to put it in a place where like, you know, you can always kind of look at it. I know. I know. I do need to put it in a place where like you know you can always kind of look at it and just know

i know i love making a vision board okay that's a nice activity that you can do between those days guys if you're bored and stuck on what to do plan out your your new year yeah and make a little vision board on what you want and do you know what else i really want to do as well this isn't like full new year's resolution but i really want to do 75 day hard from january the first or maybe the second because i'm going to be severely hung over yeah i saw um i saw cal freezy yeah he's always i was following me yeah he completed it and i was following him doing it and i was i tried it before and i gave up which is not how far did you get like day 30 do you know what it was it was still far yeah it's just it's the two exercising thing

because then like i wouldn't push myself in like one i don't know it's that that like threw me off what does it actually consist of those 75 day so it consists of sticking to your diet whatever your diet may be so obviously that could be anything you want it to be but you have to stick to it you have to drink a certain amount of water a day which i think is three and a half liters you have to do two workouts every single day but one of them has to be outside and they both have to be minimum of 45 minutes i think you have to read like 10 pages every day uh there's quite a lot that that's a commitment that's a really thing i think i just really struggle with the two workouts a day because i was like i know it is an excuse but i genuinely

didn't feel like i had time for it yeah no but that that's a kind of whole like a lifestyle change do it's a complete life well the whole point is it's meant to set you up for life and i can imagine you would be in an incredible routine by the end of 75 days like you just carry it on just because you're in that routine now oh 100 yeah oh my god i wish i could do that but i know like i know i'd be setting myself up we should try it together i would love to try it i really really would maybe 75 days is quite a long time if you go with that mindset you're absolutely not gonna achieve it

maybe we'll try that together maybe we'll try and do 75 day hard yeah but then it's annoying because it's it's my brother's birthday it's my boyfriend's birthday

and my mum's birthday all in February and I'm like I don't want to not drink oh yeah you can't drink alcohol that's also another thing but that'd be you'd be put in good practice because you'd have to have the willpower to say no i would but my boyfriend i think would be upset if i didn't drink with him on his birthday unless i go in knowing that's the one exception but then i think when you do that you make loads

of exceptions yeah you could you if you're going to do it you can't crack you can't make any exceptions because in the next day you're going to do it, you can't crack. You can't make any exceptions because in the next day you're going to be hung over and you're not going to want to do it again. I know. Maybe it's a potential. No, I'm going to do it. I'm going to do it.
