Starting point is 00:00:00 Let's go. Hi everyone, happy Thursday and welcome back to Sex Lives and DM Slides. This is our little bonus episode of the week and we are kind of following on from Tuesday's episode which was all about breaking boundaries, talking about the new year and today we'll be talking about our 2024 ins and outs. I am so excited about this. This is a new thing I've been seeing. I've always done like vision boards, but I've never done ins and outs.
Starting point is 00:00:33 And I feel like it's so important because I always put ins. I always have New Year's resolutions, but I never, ever, ever write down my outs. So I'm actually very excited for this. And also I'm intrigued to see what you've written. written well I've been seeing all the TikTok trends of it so I feel like I've had lots of inspo on my ins and outs so okay I'm very excited right who's going first should we just list one off each keep going yeah yeah let's do that okay are we doing our ins first yeah go on ins okay I do actually have more than five but I'll just pick the best ones um my end the first one healthy eating I've got to really get on that this year okay no more
Starting point is 00:01:16 takeaways no more no more takeaways she says that she had a mcdonald's last night that was an exception no but like i'm not gonna be like strict on myself like if i want to if i fancy like shitty food or a fancy takeaway i'm not gonna be like no you can't have it but i'm just gonna really like predominantly cook healthy meals and really try with yeah that's my first in okay love that my first in is saving money slash spend on experiences reason being is I feel like I'm allowed to spend it on travel but I'm not spending money on just clothes like I buy okay so many clothes and it's so unnecessary and that's just not going to be a thing for me this year that is a very good one for you I feel like and also one that I need to take.
Starting point is 00:02:05 So I'm also just going to borrow that. Yeah, because I think it's fine if it's on memories. Memories is fine. Go make the memories. Go spend money on memories. Yes. But the clothes, I need to rein it in. Do we need another 50 pound pair of trousers from Zara?
Starting point is 00:02:16 No. No. No, because we're going to wear them once and they're going to sit there. So no, we don't need it. So I'm going to steal that one and add that to my second because that's kind of what's on my mind. But like in is, is yeah just spending money on things that i actually need
Starting point is 00:02:30 and you're actually very good at that anyway yeah i am really good at that to be fair i can't actually leave the actual ink because i feel like you do that anyways yeah i am really good to be fair i'm really good with spending my money I think about every purchase before I make it but I just need to I have a bit of a actually no that's this is what that's an out we'll save that one another in because I kind of copied yours when that is this bit random one but take my supplements which is so random but like I really need to start taking like I've got loads of random I've got a PCOS supplement I've got like a b12 one a magnesium one don't want to overdo it I don't know if you can overdo it on supplements, but like I ordered loads
Starting point is 00:03:07 and I'm going to order one of those. You know those little trays where like you put them in for like Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. I'm going to order one of those and then take them.

Starting point is 00:03:24 every single day because I love acting. Accents, on the other hand, isn't quite my forte. And so it's the one thing, even though I've had like a dialogue coach many times, it's the one thing I just don't enjoy practicing doing myself. Okay. So are you going to talk just... I started yesterday. Oh, and did... Half an hour. Do you like talking... Half an hour this morning. Are you talking to yourself or are you talking start yesterday oh half an hour do you like half an hour this morning
Starting point is 00:03:47 are you talking to yourself are you talking to somebody else in an accent to myself so you're obviously watching videos and trying to yeah right okay learn that way okay i have exercises for my dialogue coach and stuff so that's how i'm practicing but i would say that's probably the one thing I put off doing till the end of the day every day last year like I just don't enjoy doing it so that's one thing that I'm putting into my life I think is when I get good at it I'll enjoy it yeah what okay well what accent have you been doing what have you been oh it's just I literally just want to be able to do a standard American accent I'm okay I'm okay but not as you know I want to be able to do a standard American accent. I'm okay. I'm okay.
Starting point is 00:04:29 But not as, you know, I want to be amazing. But by the end of the year, you could be. Oh, no, I'm saying by March. If I can't do it fully by March, like solidly, you think I'm American, then I fail. Okay, by March, you will pass as an American. I promise you. You can do a podcast episode in an American accent. Oh, my God, imagine.

Starting point is 00:05:50 because i feel like i buy a lot of clothing items that like i just wouldn't wear again and i feel like i want to build like a really nice like basic wardrobe but then i can like do you know what i mean by like a basic capsule wardrobe you just have loads of staple pieces has all the staples yeah and it's just normally more expensive but that you can just keep re-wearing yeah and i know that like i'm gonna get so much use out of it and like i'm not ever gonna have to panic about an outfit because i know that i've always got one so i want to yeah i want to create like a nice capsule wardrobe that's one of my ins love that bit of a random one um another one of my ins is to do a hair treatment weekly or hair oil okay mr olaplex oh i can't even deal with this dress i've been using olaplex thinking i'm doing really well
Starting point is 00:06:38 and everyone's telling me i can't use olaplex you should use now i don't think i'm saying k18 oh i've not heard of that i don't know what that is oh that's what i've just started using that everyone's telling me to use because the oil scares me because you can damage your hair even more and i just don't want to risk anything have you tried it's either keratese or kerastase i don't know which one it is but that brand stuff is actually insane like my hair yeah when i bleached my hair my hair was ruined but honestly now i think i've had a hair well callum cut my hair the other day for me so it's a little bit shorter now but like my hair is actually the best condition it's ever been and i actually think it's
Starting point is 00:07:13 because of that brand so genuinely yeah i mean i've invested a lot of my money into hair hair like good hair care so hopefully i'm using good stuff now yeah well end of 2024 babe you're gonna have hair down your bum uh do you know I just like bum bum I just like bum I'd like a bum but I'd also just like my natural hair just to go down to my collarbone would be quite nice stop babe you're gonna do it I believe in you thank you um I've got oh this is another one read more books I want to spend more time reading this year and I want to read like more like self-help books but also just like actual books because I always sit and like we'll say I always walk around the bookshops and I look at the stories and I'm like oh that sounds amazing but I just find it really
Starting point is 00:08:02 hard to get into a storybook I just prefer reading a book where I'm gonna like be able to take something from it but I really want to read storybooks so that's another one of mine love that thanks babe um another one of mine and I don't know how to word it on a piece of paper but I want to be if I'm like in a meeting or something I want to be the last person to I want to be better at listening to people basically I don't want to like if everyone's like debating a topic I don't want to keep just throwing in mine I want to listen to everyone else's topic and then say my opinion after everyone else has I feel like it's actually I was listening to a podcast and they were saying it's like the most powerful thing you can do
Starting point is 00:08:50 because no one could then like butt in and try to argue their point because everyone's had their points and you've sat there and you've listened and you've taken it all in and you've taken it all in and then calmly you give your opinion on something I don't really know how to explain it but basically I just I would like to be able to listen to people more without just I don't really know how to explain it without like without like I know what you mean because I feel like I do it sounds about like I'll be listening to someone's story and then I'll try and like not in a selfish way but try and relate it back to myself be like oh yeah and when this happened to me or like I'll jump in straight away but like I know what you mean bro like yeah see me and all my friends do that yeah I feel like
Starting point is 00:09:29 a lot of I think a lot of people do I think it's a really common thing that a lot of people do I think is I think though I don't think that's too bad because I know when me and my friends are doing that we're doing that just to be involved in the conversation it's not like oh trying to make it all about us it's just trying to be involved in the conversation so I think that's just something we all do I think it's more like yeah maybe I don't know I don't know how to explain it but I'd like to just be able to just listen more that's probably such a stupid one but no nothing no babe none of them are stupid we're going in with the attitude of all of them are good and if that's what you want to do you're going to do it that's something I want to stop
Starting point is 00:10:07 saying which actually last year I made a priority to not say I'm sure I did say it but I used to have a habit when I go into meetings and go I know it's such a stupid question but well this might sound stupid but I never say that anymore I just did then basically but if for going to a meeting and stuff I don't say that anymore that's good because that makes you sound more stupid and makes you sound like you don't you shouldn't be asking what you're asking yeah so I do that with my friends as well like this might be a really stupid question but and but like it's not no question is ever a stupid question because you're just curious so that's an out exactly um my last in I have a few is but these very basic ones work hard travel as much as I can and spend more time with my loved ones
Starting point is 00:10:53 oh just a nice little wholesome one to end off my ins I mean I've got quite a lot I'm not gonna lie structured gym sessions five times a week i've got my prioritized drinking water like oh that's 2.5 liters minimum a day i'm obviously doing 75 day hard that's four years a day which is a lot jesus um this just says actually try and learn to cook a little bit because i don't like cooking so I'm not gonna you know set for myself become a cook become a chef because it's I don't enjoy it whatsoever but I'd like to be half decent at cooking the three meals that I have at home baby you can easily do that I believe in you and you know something I really want to do is go to a cooking
Starting point is 00:11:44 class when you go to Manchester we should do the cooking class they have downstairs yeah i would honestly i'd love that so much i keep saying this to my boyfriend as well and i'm just really surprised he's not booked me a cooking class with him yet why because how many times you've said it yeah and he's also terrible at cooking so we could both really do with it oh so that sounds i want to do the one downstairs because you meet loads of random people then you all eat yeah i've seen that and it looks so fun that could be our double date babe we can do a cooking class love that okay so we've got some good ins let's talk about our oh can i just we've met at the last one oh she's got another one she's got lots of into this this just says it just works cute keep finding pleasures in the little things in life oh i love that i need to also i feel like i'm quite good at doing that
Starting point is 00:12:29 but i need to also do that like just the little simple things like this is gonna sound so fucking cringe but like when i see a nice sunset out the window i'm like oh that's lovely like i love looking at sunsets and i'm like that's just a cute little thing but i feel like that brings people a lot of happiness just stuff oh okay let's do some of our out for 2024 my first one is silly boys silly boys silly boys leaving you in 2023 i'm done with all of your shit now and i'm moving on to nice boys love that that is literally it next one mine says right this is just a half on though because i don't know how i'm gonna stop doing this but i'm gonna try and stop doing this overthinking doing what's best for me because i overthink everything me too and i hate how much i overthink i don't know how I'm gonna get it out
Starting point is 00:13:25 I actually don't know how to get it out because I feel like it's all just a part of having emotions and feelings but in all honesty I feel you I don't actually think there like is a particular like way or like pathway to getting overthinking out I think it's just like something that happens with time if you like actively make little like changes in order to try and help it yeah so I don't think it's not something that is literally going to happen like overnight but I feel like if you consciously are trying to make that decision then hopefully by the end of the year even if it's just like you stop overthinking one section of your life then at least you've done that do you know what
Starting point is 00:14:03 I mean yeah you're gonna do it I believe in you we're not sure how we're gonna do it but we're gonna do it but the point is you want to do it so that's the start um my next one is compulsive online shopping well I put impulse buying so I feel like we're pretty similar on that one yeah I've got I've got to stop doing that because I so this is just a really bizarre thing that i've found myself do a couple of times i don't really understand but like before i go to bed i'll always like i'll just have a look on like websites and stuff so i'll check like pretty little thing i'll just check like the new in sections on like websites and i'll add stuff to my basket but i won't actually buy it because i think i don't need it
Starting point is 00:14:39 and then when i'm in my like stage between like going to sleep, but then you're like middle stage. I do this exact process that you're doing. I fucking buy it. I do this exact process that you're doing right now. Babe, I did it. But the thing is, I did it with my Dyson Airwrap. Right. And that's not just a little £10 purchase.
Starting point is 00:15:02 I bought a £ pound hair dryer when i was off to bed and like i can't like that is just stupid i mean i'm not gonna lie i really wanted it it's actually one of the best things i've ever bought so i'm really happy but like ever since i did that i stopped adding stuff to my basket because i don't i physically don't understand what happens but i get i literally wake up in the morning i've got the confirmation email and i'm like that wasn't me it was me but that wasn't me. I'll give you another one, which is snoozing my alarm. Oh my God, I need to add that to mine. I'm the worst person ever at this, and I am. Yeah, Saf, you don't snooze it though you can sleep through it yeah well this is my problem i don't wake up like i actually don't understand like because we'll be laying in bed sometimes and the alarm's going off but the alarm
Starting point is 00:17:14 is going off right next to her ear like it's right next to her she's gone i have to leave it next to my ear because there's no chance i'm getting up yeah it's next to her ear and like everyone at the alarm sound is one of the most annoying sounds in the world. So like, I have to reach over wherever she is and like try and turn snooze without waking her up. But oh my God, yeah, no,
Starting point is 00:17:34 I do not know how you do it. That's a talent. But this is why I have to set so many because I'm not going to get up. No, you're not going to wake up. Everyone's like, oh, just set one alarm so you get up. But then maybe if I set one alarm, because sometimes I think what happens is I'm so tired,
Starting point is 00:17:51 I actually forget that I have snoozed. Right. Or I've turned it off and I've fallen back asleep. Because like sometimes I'll have like a conversation with my boyfriend and he's like, for God's sake, like eight times you turned off. I was like, I didn't wake up once. He's like, yeah, you did. times she turned off i was like i didn't wake up once he's like yeah you did you turn it off and you should go roll over so sometimes i think i forget also that i do it because i'm just tired you know what maybe you should i don't know but change your
Starting point is 00:18:15 alarm sound to like a different alarm i think that would be such a good idea yeah because then you might wake up and oh my god what's that i've not heard that before or like sell it as like a song or something do you remember that bird song that you always used to listen to when we were in Paris how do you remember that because I was scarred guys when we were in Paris we were like 17 16 17 there was this one song that Saf had on repeat every moment of every day she went Anna just one sec and the song would go on do you know what's so funny though is i like if i like a song i will always listen to it on repeat until i'm actually fully like sick of it the point my friends are like you're gonna change song yeah i could listen to the same song a hundred times over if i like it genuinely i know you could that's why that whole
Starting point is 00:19:01 i don't know why you call it the bird song. I can't remember how it goes. It was loving you. Loving you. Loving you. That was it. Because you're beautiful. Yeah, that was the song. La, la, la, la, la.
Starting point is 00:19:12 That's it. It was honestly the whole Paris trip is that song. Yeah. Like, love that. So yeah. Maybe change your alarm sound to like a different song or something. And it might help. No, no. I'm actually going to do that.
Starting point is 00:19:26 I just feel like that's a good idea. I will do that, I promise. My next one is losing my AirPods because I lose my AirPods around my flat every two seconds. How are you going to not lose them though? Surely you have to have a solution. Because I think to myself, I i'm gonna put them in a place and it's so good i forget where i've put them so i've told myself just keep when i put them down
Starting point is 00:19:51 put them in the same place why don't you make a drawer for them i could make an airpod drawer yeah that's also a good idea so i just need that's my out stop losing my airpods love that i would have stopped losing something on mine but i do tell people it's part of my personality at this point because i do lose everything i touch and quite frankly i don't know how i'd ever stop i lost my car keys for an hour and a half this morning so don't where were they oh they're in the toilet in the guest toilet sink because i'd obviously gone to the toilet and then last night and they're just in the sink so bad i do need to get somewhere for my keys to hang but i don't want to do that because if somebody ever like gets into your house the
Starting point is 00:20:40 keys are always hanging up there it's dangerous and because we've been burgled in my old house many times that that's what we used to do with our keys. And our cars would get stolen. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So you don't want to do that anymore. That's why I don't want to do that. But I've got air tags for Christmas, and I'm going to start using them on things.
Starting point is 00:20:56 Did you? Oh, my God, I really want to get an air tag. Yeah, and I feel like that's going to be the best thing I've ever done, but I need to actually set it up. Yes, you need to set it up. You know. And then when you lose your keys you'll find them in the sink
Starting point is 00:21:07 yeah you know genuinely hand on my heart this is truth I bought myself air tags about six months ago
Starting point is 00:21:15 you lost them and I lost them before I set them up and you've never found them since I've never found them since that is you written all over
Starting point is 00:21:23 yeah that is you're the only person fully you written all over yeah that is you're the only person me written all over my memory is so bad anyways anyway no losing air tags and no losing stuff in 2024 um my next one is this is so random porn star martinis because i can't hack the hangover that they give me because i genuinely it's prosecco that gives me a really bad hangover and obviously they give you a shot of prosecco with the porn star okay the headache and the hangover is not happening anymore so i've told myself no more porn star martinis love that that is so funny little one god i need to cancel out all alcohol then um i've also written down to leave self-doubt out i don't want any self-doubt this year i'm believing in myself 110 i'm with you on that one because i've also got negative self-talk
Starting point is 00:22:20 as one of my outs i'm adding that yeah no negative self-talk because I'm sitting like if I I do it all the time I'm like oh this doesn't look right oh why do I look like this blah blah and I've got to stop doing that like it's not cute that's being left in 2023 yeah I talk so negatively about myself I do I really am trying to be better like I do think to myself I'd never say to someone else why am I saying it to myself but yeah i i would say i say something negative to myself every day i do as well and it's not good for our mental health it's not good for our like mindset so that we're not doing that anymore no we're goodbye out 2023 see ya for real um my last one is believing every tarot reader that appears on my tiktok for you page yeah because honestly i will it literally will have like 500 000 likes 10 million views
Starting point is 00:23:15 but it relates to my life so perfectly i'm like well that's it yeah i believe it that was meant for me obviously not i've seen about 15 in the last 10 minutes. So I need that. I've really got to stop doing that. That's my last one. That is so funny that you did that. Sometimes, before they play, I go,
Starting point is 00:23:34 right, this is my future that I'm going to play. No, honestly, you know why I do it? Because last year, was it last year?
Starting point is 00:23:42 Year before. My God. 2022. I was in a situation where where like i hadn't seen any tarot card readers on my for you page and then one come up and it hit the spot and it said i was going to get a phone call that night and i did from the person okay so i think then it like implanted in my head i was like well this must be fucking true then obviously yeah that is but that's so yeah no it was it actually was crazy but that's where my like thought process came from but anyway we're leaving that in 2023 no more believing every time right so that is all of our ins and outs for 2024 i think we've got some really good ones i'm quite proud of that i actually think we have some really good ones i
Starting point is 00:24:22 think a lot of people can take some from us as well add them to their list a hundred percent and i feel like i always need to take some from you guys as well um it's a mess of your ins and outs i mean i've seen loads on tiktok so i feel like i'm using a lot for inspiration but yeah i really enjoyed that episode and we are leaving all the ins are definitely in and all the outs are out yes oh i love the in and outs that's so cute me too i'm really enjoying this trend i've kept it on my notes talk that is something we're both doing that is out never we're together i ain't hearing any of us talk negatively i'm not hearing one one comment one comment because i know i'm gonna say something you're gonna go nope no next self-talk no
