let's go hello everyone welcome back to sex lies and dm slides it is thursday which means we are back for our bonus episode in our last episode we actually answered all of your dating dilemmas and it was actually one of my favorite episodes i really enjoy yeah i really enjoyed it enjoy i really enjoy that episode very unofficial experts over here but we're giving it our best shot um in this episode we thought we would speak about the spring equinox because spring and summer is officially around the corner um and we thought it'd be fun to speak about how we're leveling up in time for summer so the spring equinox happened on march 20th um and it's basically the idea that we feel renewed and inspired now that we are out of winter which weirdly i slightly do feel

better but i think it's because it's brighter and the sun is setting later and like that makes such a difference to my mood such a difference i think it's just the sun honestly genuinely yeah it's the sun and the brightness so yeah it makes so much i love it i love the fact that like i can sit in my living room and it feels like 2 p.m but it's 5 p.m because it's so bright outside i think it just yeah it's the biggest change your days are just longer like the second it's dark i'm not doing anything else that's my day done like in the winter 4 p.m that's my day over now because it's dark outside in the winter even at like 2 p.m it's still so like dark and just gloomy and i don't find that motivating at all but when the sun is shining i'm like yeah

let's get shit done i'm loving this my mom's best like one of my mom's best friend lives in a country i can't remember what country is is it austria i can't remember but um where they literally have like an hour of sunlight a day yeah at one point in the year like they don't have much more than that throughout the whole year but at one point in the year they literally get an hour of sunlight it's freaking crazy i just don't know if i'd be able to do like it's always dark so imagine like us going outside now and it's dark i couldn't i feel tired all the time i i would feel so tired all the time like i genuinely don't know how she does it i feel i would genuinely feel knackered like because the thing is because now we've had the dark nights we're like so ready for the summer evenings and

like bright evenings but then by the end of summer i'm always so ready for it to get like cozy again so i think you just go through cycles but like now we're all but you would not want to live in that place sure I would definitely not want to live in that place I can't remember where it is but it's literally like the yeah it's like the the only place it's like the place in the world that has the least amount of sunlight in I think what's it called sad seasonal seasonal something disorder I can't remember the yeah but that's that I've got that. Whatever that is.

Oh no, I did it on the 17th. So just before, I thought to myself, I'm going to have a real spring clean in this flat. You was getting yourself ready three days early. Yeah, I just craved that. You know when you've cleaned

and it smells of cleaning product clean. I just craved that and I did it. I thought, this feels amazing. And I thought, I've just done a spring clean. yeah look at that perfectly in time because I didn't even realize it was a spaghetto not have you had like a spring clean like declutter or anything no I haven't if I'm being honest with you but maybe this is the time to I don't feel like I need to but my house my well I feel like my house is actually quite organized. So I actually feel like I need to.

And I feel like I'm always tidying. Yeah, I don't feel like I need a big spring clean. But you know what's funny is I always call it a spring clean even if it's winter. I'll put like evening spring clean and everyone's like, it's not the spring. Like, why do you keep calling it spring clean? But you're not going to put winter clean. I thought it was just called spring clean no exactly just doing a quick spring cleaning just meant like you're cleaning your house but apparently it means

cleaning at springtime yeah i don't really know why it's called a spring clean but i would yeah i would imagine if you put i actually imagine if you're on the story just in a quick winter clean guys just clean the kitchen like i would literally be like what are you doing a winter clean yeah you would take the piss out of me forever but I did I was putting spring clean and everyone was like this is so incorrect it's the right thing maybe apparently because of the spring equinox which is apparently a big thing but apparently it also says here most people find spring to be a romantic time of the year do you think you romanticize spring or summer maybe spring yeah maybe spring because like you

say you're you're feeling better about yourself like you're I don't know maybe feeling more motivated there's more light you just feel happier and I feel like when I'm happy I was actually more likely when I want to be I don't know I guess more likely when I want to be single well that's I don't know that's what I was kind of thinking like I think if I had a boyfriend I'd be excited yeah because like there'd be different types of dates we could do like I personally was excited to actually be able to go outside the house with that coat on and wear different clothes because I'm so sick of living in a massive coat and tracksuit but I guess yeah I look at summer in a bit of different way I'm kind of a bit like

woo go on holiday do kind of have fun now. You can do that any time of the year. So maybe like, maybe spring is the time when you're like, yeah, like, I could find a relationship, but then if you don't, summer's like a time where you're like, no, it's fine, I'll just be happy and I'll just thrive and I'll just, you know? Which is as well, like, do you think it's easier to find joy in like more normal things or like mundane things but in the spring yeah 100

again it just comes to the sun being out i think and i'm bright yeah that is i think that actually is the answer to every single question the fucking lighter days i think we maybe just need to leave live in a different country but they just have that i always think that like i actually think i would thrive if it was just a little bit warmer outside all the time with the sun out and a palm tree i love a palm tree there's something about a palm tree that makes me feel better like i do love seasons don't get me wrong but i feel like we don't really like we do have seasons but we don't at the same time i love i love having a cold winter it's kind of just a bit samey samey all year round like new york they actually have seasons it is but like

when it's when it snows if you were to have a white christmas every year i'm like yep i love that like i can't imagine having a hot christmas because parts of me like sometimes i've always thought to myself like oh would i want to do like christmas in australia one year and have like a barbecue on the beach but that would feel so weird to me like i do love the thought of being like cozy and stuff in the winter but in the like overall all year round well i mean i guess we do have seasons i mean manchester i definitely have fucking seasons even though it's meant to be spring right now it just started pissing it down with rain but that's what i mean i feel like we don't because i feel like it's just the same until summer well yeah i ain't seen i've not seen no blossom on these trees outside no exactly that's what i'm

What's on our summer bucket list, like holidays-wise this year?

There's so many countries I want to go to. And just me, I feel like I never have time, which is actually a crazy thing to say. Because I have so much time. My bucket list. Well, I really want to go to Japan. But the blossom season is just coming up. Jed and Imogen are going.

It's my dream place. But you kind of have to go at this time of year, which I can't go. Same with South Africa another one of my top places and the Maldives they're all my top three and you have to go this time of year so I may be challenging them for next year but this year I'm going to spend a lot of my time in the US working on myself working on my career and that's like the top of my bucket list so I guess that's what I'm doing you're actually traveling I am I'm gonna go traveling again I'm gonna do Bali this summer which I'm so excited

for because I loved Australia when I went and I just loved the whole just not really giving a shit about anything it was just a really nice break from everything so gonna do Bali I'm gonna spend when do I go I'm gonna go halfway through June and then come back at some point in July I don't really know when I'm gonna come back yet but just travel around there for a bit and then I'd love to do another cruise this year because I loved that oh my god that was so good I thought that cruise was so much fun so imagine if we did one around the US imagine if i think we did one in miami they do don't they do like hawaii miami yeah oh my god no can we actually do that i would love to well they do those massive what they're called the royal caribbean cruises yeah yeah yeah i had the biggest cruise ship ever

and i watched someone went on one on tiktok and i was like oh my god like it like looked insane and i don't know if you've seen we were both gobsmacked by the way by how incredible cruise was i'd never wanted to do a cruise in my life but now i would say it's one of the best things i've actually done it was so good i loved this little room that we had like it was such a nice like room to live in for the weekend i know it sounds silly but the night the fact we had a nightclub on the ship the fact you can go out get pissed until like three in the morning there's unlimited food everywhere on the ship you can go and get a pizza in one place or a full english breakfast at any time of the day in another and then walk to bed without an uber i was like this is the life like yeah it was just it was

genuinely insane and especially if you want to go visit places i think a cruise is just such an amazing thing to do i would love to do the greece one this year where it stops at like mykonos santorini like i think that would be gorgeous place to go to a cruise around and you're right america would be so amazing to go do a cruise around yeah i would love that maybe we could look into that yeah we should actually do that together it'd be so fun we went loads of places last year together we had some like big hot girl summer last year yeah we did we did you know what though i'm kind of over ibiza now see yeah i've done it i've had my fair share i feel like that's not where i'm spending hot girl i did it twice last year and both times it was very heavy so I think this year if I do Ibiza

it will be old town Ibiza like in a nice chilled environment I don't think yeah don't think I would love to go to I can't believe I haven't been to Mykonos that's where I'd love to go to my old summer and Saint-Tropez oh my god that's where I want to go Saint-Tropez is meant to be incredible incredible I know but we're just probably gonna be giving everyone like holiday as i envy we're also not there yeah but just making everyone want a holiday i think we all i feel like that's where i want to spend my hot girl summer in one of those places this year i will happily book a trip to either mykonos or stantropay in a heartbeat oh please can we do hot girl summer in one of those places i feel like that's like a nice yeah that's like our bougie version of hot girl summer and i love that for us

oh do you know what this is actually genuinely making me excited for summer i'm so excited i just like this is making me so excited for summer and actually you can't even look forward to summer yet because you've got something well exciting coming up have i coachella Coachella have I? yeah I've got my book coming out but I thought it was a holiday yeah I'm going to Coachella I'm literally flying well you're going to LA in literally a couple of days

I fly in a couple of weeks but I am so excited and this year guys the outfits are going to slay we're having no outfit repeats of last year. Can you send me your outfits? Yeah, I tried some of them on yesterday.

I've had to order one in a bigger size because I just clearly don't know the size of my own boobs at this point. But I'm loving the outfits. I just need to sort out what I'm doing with the hair and the makeup. I really want to go. I'm so jealous that I'm not not going i'm not saying i've tried with the outfits this year because they're still giving very much like do you know i mean they're not like extravagant but yeah it's a little bit more something and i'm very excited i'm just

excited like i haven't been in because you you just got back from dubai and i haven't been seen the sun since last september i think when I went to Ibiza so I'm really get me in that hot weather like I need to be in the sun and just feeling good about you know I might end up at sending my trip and coming to Coachella who knows I think that could be a good idea I'm about it's hard though because I know that I'm spending six weeks in the US from in May so I'm like if I do that then I'm yeah it's a lot yeah it's a lot it's gonna be a lot and it's also a very heavy weekend yes heavy weekend I am booking I don't even know who's performing uh it's Doja Cat it's Lana Del Rey and oh it's

gonna be good Tyler the Creator so wow it's okay it's actually it's better than last year the headline is a good but also like the people under like you know the other people performing they're really good so i was like last year yeah i don't think the lineup was giving as much as we wanted it to give like when we've been previous years it was like we're never going to be able to top beyonce the weekend and eminem that was we went to an elite Coachella and I'm just sad I didn't appreciate Eminem as much as I do now because I love Eminem now I listen to him every day in the gym and I wasn't listening to him then and I'm so disappointed in myself we won't well we might but won't get the chance to see him again in that like no i know i know so it's just so annoying

but so annoying at least we were there we still heard a little bit of it we didn't get to see but we still heard a little bit of it but yeah yes yeah we're both off in within the next few weeks you're off to la i'm off to coachella we're gonna get tan it's gonna be good it's gonna we're gonna come back tan we're gonna come back thriving i'm currently developing i've got fake tan on right now it's not looking very tan though but see you know i haven't fake tanned in over a year i reckon now and that is on luck my babe because i am pasty everyone keeps asking me what tan i've been using but i actually haven't tanned but it's because like well I tanned loads throughout the summer and then I've just been I've been fortunate enough that I've been able to go on like a few like

little holidays here and there so I've just been like laying out on the sun topping up topping up topping it up yeah that is what I'm gonna try to do in LA I'm literally gonna be every spare minute LA is a weird one though it's warm but it's not that warm like the UV I'm packing mainly jeans I don't even know what the weather's like in la at the moment palm springs is boiling yeah that will be like 30s but la is it's such a weird one like i just i really don't know what to pack like honestly i've mainly packed jeans and gym stuff because i need to look at the weather also indoors is colder than outdoors oh the air con oh my god the air con you've never known

anything like it you go indoors and you're actually freezing my throat is going to be ruined uh the air yeah horrendous yeah it is horrendous forecast then because for some reason i was under the impression that i needed like not jeans for la but maybe no see i do that and then i regret it so i've ended up doing jeans this time well you've just saved me and I will now check the weather forecast before I pack well I'll be there so you can ask me what's the weather like so I know what to pack but overall do you think you're gonna say yes to more things in summer not just in summer I think in life yeah I love that I think anything I want to do now in

life I'm just gonna yeah do it but also I think I'm gonna learn the power to also just say no like if I don't want to do something however I if I want to do something or if I don't I'm just gonna do it because that's how I feel and I think when I say yes to things I don't really want to do I always regret it and vice versa. Taking control over our own decisions. How about you? Yeah, I'm just going to say yes. Like, I mean, I need... You say yes to everything.

Yeah, I say yes to a lot of things. I just think, oh, fuck it, why not? Like, I might as well live whilst I'm young and make as many memories as I can. But I also have gotten really good at saying no. And I say no a lot of the time as well now. But in the sense of like summer and like going out and like having fun I'm just gonna say yes and just see where I end up just

see where I end up on this pod and I'll just come and tell you all my dirty secrets that I get up to I've told myself this is like my last hot girl summer yeah then she's retired so we'll see what happens then she's's retired.
