let's go hello everyone and welcome back to sex lies and dm slides it is thursday which means we are back for a bonus episode so in tuesday's episode we spoke about nato dating and whether situationships can work um i mean i think it's pretty obvious what our answer was but if you haven't already listened you can go and listen to today's episode but today we thought we would go back to the roots of this podcast and discuss all things dms it's in the name so I feel like we need to bring it back and I feel like we have very different opinions on this actually um so I'm actually excited to talk about this topic um so yeah we put a question box on our Instagram and asked some of you guys some of the ways that guys have slid into your DM so we're going to read them out however question like first thought

has a guy ever slid into your DM has it ever worked and do you think it can work for you honestly i was saying this to staff before we recorded the episode right i don't think i've ever had like a guy that i really fancy slide my dms like one like i i can't pinpoint one in my head i feel like if someone had i would remember do you know what i mean i'm just not lucky in loving the dms really it doesn't happen for me for me sparker i feel like you have had some really good people slide your dms yeah i i feel like dms can work i'm not gonna lie no i don't know like i'm just not against it like for me i'm not on anything else aside from raya okay so obviously there's like i can meet someone out and about but like that's so rare so really actually most people i've ever spoken to i've met

just so awkward i wouldn't just put hey like if you can reply to their story it's like yeah you have a topic to talk about and it's like from their point of view if they didn't fancy you or like you it's like oh they were just replying to my story but if they like you it's such a good way to get the conversation yeah i would never just and it's so i would never just put like hey i'd put the hey you i've done that one too many times but like now if i was gonna do that i definitely would reply to their story i've learned that from you good girl we love that because also as well like why are they not messaging you if they wanted to I don't know I just I don't it is hard isn't it because I do think replying to someone's story is fine but like just to message someone out front

and be like oh I don't know maybe I'm not the best at this advice I mean look where it's got me why don't you do this one? This is what someone's done. Ask them if they like chicken and then call them a hot chicken wing. Please, you have to do that to someone. You have to do that. We both have to do that to someone. Shut up.

You have to say, do you like chicken? And they're going to be like, yeah, why? Because you're a hot little chicken wing. Oh my God, no. If someone did that to me, I would cry. That's got to be the worst pick up line I've ever heard. went through my friend's facebook profile and added the fittest guy on his friends list we've been together seven years wow but did he message you or did you message him once you added him with my friend's facebook so she's now with the guy that she followed like added oh but but i want to know who messaged you first because obviously you made the initial first move of adding him on facebook but like who actually made the first move we need more context yeah do you know what i mean we need more context on that one someone messaged them saying i saw you reverse into that car oh god stop i would be so embarrassed i'd be so embarrassed i'd be like well i'm glad i wish you didn't see that because now i'm just embarrassed just try and start flirting but the fact he's seen you

reverse into that car and still fancied you true kind of that technically could be a slight nick and not just that as well like he would obviously have to think you're really attractive yeah to have like message yeah message you that oh my god still still i asked them what the date and time is and then said that is the date and time we can forever say we started talking weirdly like it i actually don't mind i could tell because the initial reaction the initial look on your face wasn't uh you were like thinking about it like oh let's give him fairy tale well I think it's like if you fancied someone it's kind of funny like I actually think that's kind of good as the first initial slide in I'd done a bit if like if I already liked them a bit and someone said that to me but then that wouldn't really work but you know I mean like I would I'd like that yeah like

yes i've definitely followed people i just i don't know I know it sounds really ridiculous because they don't know you but again I just think like if someone really I don't know maybe I'm like old-fashioned but I just think the guy should just make the first effort like that's just the way that I see it a lot of people can disagree with me I'm sure a lot of people will but from my point of view like I don't know I just think the guys should just make the first effort that's the way that I would want it in a relationship I agree with you I think like I have messaged guys first and I won't do that anymore like maybe reply to their story well question the guys that you've messaged first anything ever come from it no not that well not that i'm thinking like when i'm thinking about it

not really we've had conversations but like they've really always died out i guess so this is what i mean like if a guy like oh we can't say it again but he doesn't want to he would because it's like if he can't even send you a message then why is he going to take you out when he didn't even message you first yeah and also like i'd want it to make sure that like he fancies me like you see my photos he's like oh yeah like i want to message her i want him to have that one exactly whereas like if you're messaging a guy first they can be really nice or whatever else they could follow you back and like respond to the message but i don't know i don't know that's the way that i've seen it like i've never known any of my friends who's met the guy

he actually started messaging me in 2019 so five years ago um and he said he saw my tinder so i had tinder back in 2019 very rogue of me um and he wanted me to match him and then in 2022 he messaged me saying if you were a vegetable you'd be a cute cumber and then I got this message bless his heart he put I know I don't have enough followers to be in your dms but sometimes it's nice being with someone more low-key for who they actually are if you look at my profile I'm sure I'm your type at least well I'd hope so but you're so stunning two years later i'm still dming you i just want to take you out for a drink then get married and get a house and a puppy i'm not asking for much oh okay that escalated it escalated very quickly oh that's cute though i love the consistency me too i do and the fact that like i mean he said two years but he messaged me in 2019
