Welcome back to another episode of VPR from the start. We are on season two, episode eight.
Starting point is 00:01:50 This is a doozy. It is, and I'm back everyone. And looks back, and we're back in California. This we are. Here we are. So this is Sherlock Stasi, and I'm sure all of my Vanderpump fans know exactly what we're about to start. This is a very difficult episode for me.
Starting point is 00:02:07 So honestly, I didn't even watch it. I kind of heard it in the background, making dinner, Luke watched it. Luke, you made all the notes. I have all the notes. So Luke's going to lead this. I'm going to comment on it, but yeah, this isn't a super fun one. And it's going to get more difficult as we go. But we did promise you guys we would do this. So before we start, I want to read this really awesome lovely message that I got from one of you on Instagram.
Starting point is 00:02:33 So Meg at Meg wears muddy boots. Number one, I absolutely love your Instagram handle. But this made me feel really good and made it feel like this was worth Luke and I doing these recaps. So Meg wrote to me yesterday and she said, I have been enjoying the recaps of VPR from the start. I just wanted you to know that what you were doing is not in vain. You are incredibly strong and a true professional to revisit those episodes for your fans. You have evolved and changed so much. You have always been this beautiful, fun kind person and you really have grown into it. this even kinder, wiser, incredible person. You show the world that you can make mistakes and learn and grow from them. You show us all that it is
Starting point is 00:03:12 okay to make a mistake. We are all human, and you can take that mistake and actually use it as a springboard to improve, learn, and grow. You really are an inspiration. Know that what you were doing is helping others. Also, so happy for you and Luke, you deserve all of the happiness. Oh, it's so sweet, babe. I know. That's the first of my back to read the whole thing because I was reading it yesterday and feeling like a little emo and almost cried. So I was like, I'm just going to save it for the podcast, but that message alone really helped me when we had to sit down and do this today. Well good, and we're gonna do it.
Starting point is 00:03:46 Oh boy. You ready? I'm ready. Okay, so VPR from the start, season two episode eight, Sherlock Stasi. This episode opens with the infamous, that's not even infamous, the garage sale. They don't sell anything. They don't sell anything. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:00 So yeah, it's Stasi, Kristen and Kristina. Kristen's not really chime in, but they're talking about the Kristen and Jack's rumor. And obviously, Stasi is really feeling it and really like, buying into this whole thing. And Katie walks up crying, says she hates herself, and only is only really there for a brief appearance. Right. Yeah, I remember that.
Starting point is 00:04:20 I mean, we talked, Rachel and I talked last week about, you know, the night before, what was and Katie and I being really drunk. And the rumor that Katie had once said that day. So that's what's up. And, you know, obviously looking back, I am like, God, poor Katie, just like beating herself up over repeating something like this, because Katie clearly didn't think it was true. Katie, as is episode progressed from what I remember, was very much like, Kristen's my best friend. Like that beat, that's crazy. And it just like, oh man, I haven't seen this in 10 years.
Starting point is 00:04:52 And it just really made me feel so bad because Katie was like, what are you talking about? Like that's my best friend. She would never do this. Like I believe her. And I just sat there lying like a giant piece of shit. I was taking, you guys, I was taking that shit to my grave. Like I was out of body, out of mind, out of soul.
Starting point is 00:05:08 Like I would have said done anything to take that to my grave. And I was pretty damn confident that it was gonna work out. And on hindsight I'm glad that it didn't because I wouldn't have been able to live with a lie like that. I don't think. Yeah, it'll just eat away at you.
Starting point is 00:05:22 For sure. And my take on online is you only lie before two reasons. You're ashamed of something you did and you think you can get away with it. Oh, that's interesting. I've never heard that before. Definitely ashamed. And you think you can get away with it. Otherwise, why would you lie?
Starting point is 00:05:38 If you know you can't get away with it and you're not ashamed of it, you're not lying. Oh, that, okay. Yeah. You know what I mean? I just see, I guess I really thought it would just never come to light, ever. Yeah. Okay, well let's continue.
Starting point is 00:05:50 I'll have more comments moving forward. So they kinda split up. Katie sits down across the street anyway. Stasi says to Christina, this is the worst thing that could happen to Stasi. Mm-hmm. Her ex-boyfriend who she doesn't want to get back together with sleeping with her best friend.
Starting point is 00:06:07 Which, to me, it seems, just on trend with Stasi, making it all about her. I mean, it kind of was about her, though. Although it's like, yeah, she and Jacks were broken up, which I think a lot of fans still get that wrong. And I'm just not, I hate it in like being like, well, they were broken up because it's like, I'm trying to make it right, which I think a lot of fans still get that wrong. And I'm just not, I'm hated and like being like, well, they were broken up because it's like, I'm trying to make it right, which I'm not.
Starting point is 00:06:28 But when people say, well, you hooked up with your best friend's boyfriend, well, no, they have been broken up for quite some time. Still not okay. But I think honestly of all the people that were affected by what happened, she was the one who got at the worst. I didn't feel that bad for Tom. Like I felt badly for what I did but I don't even in hindsight, maybe it's because I feel the way I
Starting point is 00:06:52 feel about him now, I don't know, but he was just such a piece of shit boyfriend anyway doing the same things I was doing. And I don't even, I almost felt like at a point like it was kind of, he was like relieved when he found out, because it made things easier for him, it also made it easier for him to break up with me. Yeah, I see that. It was like, oh, I have a reason now, but I think Stasi is the one who really got the shit
Starting point is 00:07:14 out of the stick in all of the times that she wasn't able to trust. Right. I don't know. I can see that. I think that. Because it does seem like the season's kind of trending on her considering getting back with Jacks and this coming out just rocks her whole world.
Starting point is 00:07:29 Right. Like one of her two closest friends is, but has potentially slept with the guy that she's been on and off dating for years and considering getting back together with. Yeah, absolutely. I don't even know really, too. It's like, was it even about him necessarily? I think it was just the fact that I- It more about it being you. Because she knew he'd slept with other plenty of other women in between. It was the fact that me being one of our best friends, someone
Starting point is 00:07:53 that she could trust suddenly. I was someone who did something like incredibly backstabbing and painful. Right. Yeah. So you guys kind of just wrap it up with Stasi saying she is going to pretend to believe Kristen. To Christina, she says she's going to pretend to believe Kristen. Well, she can sort of do some digging and figure things out. Right, right, right. So next scene, Lisa and Guillermo plan and they talk way too long if you ask me about a secret diner, someone to come in and check and see if staff is doing what they're supposed to.
Starting point is 00:08:25 This is when Vannapompros was still trying to make Fetch happen and Fetch was the fact that we worked at a restaurant. Like no one cared. Oh, you're talking about me and your old stuff. I'm talking about me and your old stuff. Stop trying to make Fetch happen. Like Fetch was the fact that we worked at a restaurant. They were trying to like, look, let's do a montage of them busing tables.
Starting point is 00:08:43 Let's make sure we get Stasi being like, hey, what do you want with that martini? Like, no one fucking cares. I mean, it's a backdrop. It is. But no one cared about working at the restaurant. People cared about Lisa. People care about Lisa.
Starting point is 00:08:57 So I think that was the reason of really making the restaurant like a thing because Lisa is the matriarch of inter-pumpets. Okay, but like you've also, you've already said like you still need, everybody still needed the job to pay their bills. Mm-hmm, true. But do you really give a shit about someone actually waiting on tables when you're watching a TV show? No, but I can see somebody being like, oh shit,
Starting point is 00:09:18 who's gonna get in trouble? Yeah, because of Lisa. Sure, but I'm saying it just like, it does add to it. Okay, fair. Anyway, moving on. So Tom and Kristen at their apartment, Tom asked about the garage sale. Kristen says they didn't sell a damn thing.
Starting point is 00:09:32 Shocking. Tom definitely doesn't believe the rumor and says to Kristen, now you know what it's like to have a rumor about you, believing or sorry, referring to. The Tom and Ariana. Exactly. Tom and Ariana exactly Tom and Ariana Yeah, even just that little comment makes me feel like he was like, huh? This is a bit of a relief the heat's off me for a minute totally. I mean you can see it in his face
Starting point is 00:09:54 Absolutely, okay, so now we move on to Stasi's brunch where she's got this conniving plan to get Jack's hammered and get the truth out of him Okay, so this I didn't watch. This brunch is where? This brunch. Oh, it's just at a restaurant, not at a serve. Is that a restaurant? I don't think it said where it was, but everyone was like partying. It was seemed like a club atmosphere of a brunch.
Starting point is 00:10:13 Okay, I can figure out where that was. Or leave a new one. They have places like that in LA. Right, right. So, you know, everyone's drinking. Jack says he's at 9.5 out of 10. He's the only reason he's not a 10 drunk is because he's not on the floor.
Starting point is 00:10:25 That's funny. Pretty funny. Christina tells Stasi that she thinks Kristen would do that. Thanks, Kay. Anyway, I'm just kidding. I was a dick. So Lisa booking the secret diner,
Starting point is 00:10:40 food blogger, Molina pops in the middle of this scene. So not really much else to say about this, but this girl Molina is going to show up. So then it cuts back Stasi S. Jack's straight up. If you guys, if you and him, yeah, if it's true, if that there's any meat to the rumor, and he's looking left. I mean, I'll be honest, my intuition.
Starting point is 00:11:01 He looked like he was lying. Oh, he absolutely looked like he was lying. He did not do a good job of hiding that he was lying there. Interesting. Yeah, it's obviously harder when you're drunk. This is fun. Anyway, he says, yeah, I know. He says, he goes, are you kidding me? That's weird. That's gross. I'd be like sleeping with my sister. Here we go with the brother sister shit again, Jacks. So cut to sir. Stasi tells Lisa. Lisa says in her interview that she's heard this before, but just wants it to go away. Yeah, that was weird to me because I did hear that part when you
Starting point is 00:11:33 were watching it. And I'm like, Lisa never heard this from anyone. You didn't know about it. Like, just stop trying to be like 25. Like you're not that in on things. Cause people didn't know until it really came out except for Jack's Katy way soul, Katy Maloney. So I don't know. That is just, I don't know why. She just robs me the wrong way.
Starting point is 00:11:59 Just trying to. Well, I mean, is it possible that she overheard the conversation between Katy way soul and Katy Maloney? No, because she just, Lisa comes into Dynet, sir. She wasn't really doing tips and working there, like they tried to make it appear. OK, fair enough. Anyway, she doesn't need to make it worse
Starting point is 00:12:15 by trying to be in the middle of it and being like, oh, well, I knew that rumor, too. Well, OK. Yeah, anyway. Moving forward, the food blogger, Malinaina and her friend, who they don't name, comes to Sir. Yeah, the friend never got a name, did she? I did not see.
Starting point is 00:12:32 You name his friend. I wonder if people, like, if they look back at these episodes or remember that, like, young Stasi Schroeder was, like, waiting on them that day and was, like, kind of, talking to each other about Jacks and, like, Jacks was, like, on his phone texting and then they kind of talking to you about Jax and like Jax was like on his phone texting and then they like ratted him out to Lisa. Like do they sit back and like remember these things? There's no way they've forgotten it. It's just wild, yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:53 Absolutely, I think they look back on that. That's a cool memory. I mean, they're on camera and everything. It's just so weird. Right. Starting point is 00:17:37 filling Sheena in about the rumor. So obviously, Sheena's like, holy shit. Blah blah blah. She knows like this is awesome. Stasi can be all mine. Right, okay fair. And anyway, the whole catch on this is that Malina and her friend are she knows table.
Starting point is 00:17:58 And she knows obviously super into this conversation is like holy shit, what's going on? It's the gossip, the new gossip. We did love the gossip, I'll say that. And Malena's not very satisfied, seem to be like checking the time, being like, it took them 10 minutes to get drink orders. And then- I wonder if she really was like an inside like a restaurant like person. I would, I mean, I would guess so. I know for- I know that they have people like that. I know that we used to have people like that
Starting point is 00:18:25 come in at times, but I wonder, I don't know. It could just be like some friend of a friend that Lisa had on camera to like make a TV. Well, I'll say at two restaurants that I worked at, I know for a fact we had secret diners or whatever they called them. Yeah. So.
Starting point is 00:18:41 And you get paid for that shit. Yeah. Anyway, they get their check after Katie brings out the food get their check and move Over to the lounge, I think no they started at the lounge went to the restaurant So at the restaurant their stossies customer now and they ordered the same drinks jacks blows it on the drink But Jack I remember Jack said say something really funny. Yeah in this moment You know what he said? He said something along the lines of like people complain about the drink and all he does is like But I remember Jackson say something really funny in this moment. You know what he said?
Starting point is 00:19:06 He said something along the lines of like, people complain about the drink and all he does is like, reshake it and like put it in a new glass or something. He said, I act like I change it, but I just make the same drink again. Right. Something like that. And they're always happy. And it literally happened. And it happened exactly like he said.
Starting point is 00:19:22 Yep. Which is, he's not wrong sometimes. I mean, Jackson's is the first to admit he's like a really shitty bartender also. But you know, I'm working in the service industry or really I mean, I think any sort of customer service industry, you're always going to people that just complain for the sake of complaining. Maybe they're having a bad day. Maybe they just want to be a dick about something. But as a former bartender, I would get that. I very much agree with Jack's,
Starting point is 00:19:46 that you do have people who are just like, mm, no, that's not right. And then you just essentially put it in a different glass and then they're like, oh, it's great. And you're like, if you fucking idiot, it's the same thing. You know, I don't think I ever bartended at an upscale, more upscale-ish place like, sir, where they would expect me to make another drink.
Starting point is 00:20:02 Like, oh, this isn't sweet enough. Simple, sir. I just want syrup. More syrup in it. Put your finger like you're doing right now. Here you go. Could you do that for you? You want another lime? Oh my God. Pre-COVID that would have been amazing. Like working at like an addebevix or something where you're like some of the kids not sweet and just like throw sugar cube in it and start with your finger. That'd be hysterical. Oh, I love it.
Starting point is 00:20:27 Oh, man. So everybody's chatting about the rumor, Stasi approaches Jack's while they're in there and blah, blah, blah. Nothing really comes of it. But everyone's just talking about this rumor. So cut to the next day, Lisa calls Sheena to talk to her about this secret diner. Not much substance here, but you can see in Shina's eyes she's horrified.
Starting point is 00:20:49 Because she, Lisa, might tell her she's in trouble or something? Right. No, you can see in Shina's eyes. She didn't, is not used to being in trouble. Right. And she felt like she was because she walked up and she was all happy at first. And then Lisa's like, no, we had a bit of a problem. I sent someone in to check on things and you see or I don't know. I would say that she is a bit of a perfectionist where it's like people like saucy and I, when we worked at SIR, we were like,
Starting point is 00:21:15 eh, whatever, we need a smoke break. We're going to hide wine. She was like, I'm not doing that shit. And Kristen, and you were used to being in trouble. Yes, yes. You're like suspended throw party. Yeah. Or whatever.
Starting point is 00:21:30 So funny. So they work it out. Obviously, Lisa wasn't too hard on Sheenah as she doesn't seem to ever be. And then talks to Jacks and Jacks denies it first that he was on his phone. And then he's like, OK, maybe I was on the phone a little more than I should have been.
Starting point is 00:21:44 He's like, well, the customer said you were on your phone the entire time. Anyway, moving on to Stasi and Katie, they're talking, want to get to the bottom of this, Stasi. The Stasi goes to Katie's house. Stasi goes to Katie's house, yes. So, they're trying to get to the bottom of the house. Just Katie at this point does not even want to discuss the rumors. She doesn't, she's embarrassed that she brought it up,
Starting point is 00:22:06 which just made me feel so bad for her being put in this situation, but Katie, essentially, I remember this, like, Stasi was going over there being like, I know Katie doesn't want to talk about this, but Katie's going to have to talk to me about this. Right. So she goes over, Katie tells her what she knows, which is only that this other Katie told her
Starting point is 00:22:24 that had happened. And that's that. So, Stasi, John... She's so wild to me because I was such good friends with Katie Waisle that she never came to me at all being like, yo, by the way, like, Jacks told me this. It's just so crazy, like, when I think about it all on hindsight, but what would I have done any differently? Nothing. Yeah. In the moment, like, if I think that, all on hindsight, but what would I have done on any differently? Nothing. Yeah. In the moment, like if I think back, I probably would have done absolutely nothing differently.
Starting point is 00:22:48 And it's also weird that Katie Maloney never came to you after she heard the rumor, because she supposedly heard it shortly after. Honestly though, I would think about it like back then, right? If someone told me a rumor about Katie Maloney cheating on Tom Schwartz, let's say, right? And I thought it was just ridiculous.
Starting point is 00:23:06 I don't think I would have brought it up either. I think I would have just shrugged it off. I don't think I ever would have gone to Katie Maloney and said, oh, by the way, like our Katie Waisel, our friend, told me this weird thing. I would just be like, Katie Waisel was drunken, stupid. I'm not even gonna think about this.
Starting point is 00:23:23 Right. You know, if I didn't believe it, I don't think I would have given it the time of day. Okay, that's fair. That's just me, I don't know, if I had heard something. So it makes sense to me why Katie Maloney did not bring it to light until she was accidentally drunken,
Starting point is 00:23:39 like let it spill. So for me, if someone had... You were in the same position. In the same position. I would absolutely let a good friend of mine know that someone else has a rumor going around about them being cheated on. That someone was talking shit. Yes, someone's talking shit, someone's saying, hey, someone's so came up to me and said,
Starting point is 00:23:57 they heard that this happened. I just want you to know so you can put a stop to it because I don't believe it. Right. Because I wouldn't just let it perpetuate because she's probably going to tell more people if she just told somebody, she probably can tell somebody else. She says fair. And it's like, if you want to put an end to it, you let your friend know, you don't just let them keep talking their shit, keep spreading rumors.
Starting point is 00:24:15 Yeah, that's a good point too. That's a very good point. I don't know. I can see where you're coming from though. Yeah. And then they can decide if they want to be like, they're in the audience. I think, yeah. You know, you're right, Luke, I think it would for me back then it would have
Starting point is 00:24:26 depended on who it was and what it was about because we did gossip a lot more back then clearly than any than I do now at all if at all I like to kind of keep things close to my chest these days and I'm not like just hey guess what so and so sad or guess what I heard I like really shrug it off and just go you know what I don't care or I don't even believe it, so who cares. But maybe back then, I would have done what you're saying. Yeah, just like even if you don't believe it, I mean, if it was about my brother, about Greg,
Starting point is 00:24:54 about Hans, about some of my best friends I've had for years and years, I bring it to their attention and be like, hey, I don't think this is true, but this is what's being said about you. Like a warning about who is spreading things about them. Yes, this person is spreading this about you. Yeah, that's a good point. Okay.
Starting point is 00:25:10 So, at least you may be tread lighter around that person if they're spreading rumors, or if it was close to the chest secret, you told them they immediately go tell somebody else. Well, okay, but let me riddle me this though, if it were about two of your best friends. So like, let's say it was one of your best friends. One of your dude best friends was said to have hooked up with one of your other best friends, X's. Like, if it was that close to comfort, closing your little circle. I mean, if they were both, if I was close to both of them, I probably would have pulled them both together, been like, okay, hey, come over for a drink later to both of them and be like, hey, once you guys know this is what I heard and I don't know if it's true, I don't need to know if it's true,
Starting point is 00:25:46 but you guys should put a stop to it being said and maybe not trust this person if they're sure. Yeah, I wonder if like deep down, not that it matters anymore, but just like the psychology of this is what Luke and I are doing right now guys, like breaking down the psychology. But I wonder like back then if there was like a little part
Starting point is 00:26:01 of Katie Maloney that was like, fuck, this could be true. Therefore, I'm not even going to entertain it. then if there was like a little part of Katie Maloney that was like fuck this could be true therefore I'm not even going to entertain it or if it was there's no way this is true so I'm not gonna entertain it. Yeah that's fair I guess I don't know it's also it's a totally different culture here in LA as well that I don't know to me it's hard to believe that you can trust anyone as far as people I've met out here. Totally. I mean so yeah yeah, I don't know. It's a very good point. Just erode my trust in general public here. And we're not, when he says that, we're not talking about
Starting point is 00:26:32 necessarily like the Vanderpump cast members. No, I'm not talking about anyone specific. We're talking about, yeah. No, no, no. Maybe I just have, maybe I have some minor trust issues. Maybe. Maybe. I think they're spot on when it comes minor trust issues. Maybe. Maybe. I think they're spot on when it comes out here, though.
Starting point is 00:26:47 Okay. Thank you. So, Sassy's a Katie's. Yes. She wants Katie to talk about it. Katie tells her what she knows, and Sassy comes up with this plan to text Jack's from Kristen's phone and says, if Kristen has any reservations about this shit is going to hit the fan. So what she do, she just shows up.
Starting point is 00:27:07 What did you think when you heard her say that? As a viewer, I immediately thought, one, this is the right move, it's gonna work, but two, you're fucking nuts. Like, that is over the top paranoia. I don't know. Honestly, I was surprised it went so smooth when she came over. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:28 She comes over and Kristen's like, sure, go for it. Here you go. Here's my phone. So this is going to make me sound like the absolute devil. You and Jack's plan for the whole world. I knew that that's something she would do because that's something I would do. Okay. So I planned ahead for it. Gotcha.
Starting point is 00:27:44 And I told Jack's, oh, I feel like a disgusting person. she would do because that's something I would do. So I planned ahead for it. Gotcha. And I told Jack's, oh, I feel like a disgusting person, but this is a long time ago. So I'll see I love you. I had told Jack's right away, if anyone ever texts you, if my phone ever texts you about this, it's not me. I will never bring this up. And I would even like practice with practice with him out of nowhere. I would just text him out of the blue, something about it,
Starting point is 00:28:08 just to see how he would respond to make sure that. Because honestly, I didn't necessarily think, I don't know if I thought I would be saucy. I can't remember now, but I thought maybe Tom would. Just take my phone in the middle of the night or something, and try to get down to it. So I just did what I like, I'm like, what would I do in that situation? If I were stossy, what would I do? Oh, I would totally take someone's phone and I would pretend I would want to figure it out that way. So I knew
Starting point is 00:28:37 that that's something someone else would do. Okay, fair, you were right. And that's what happens. Everyone's like, I was wondering what you were thinking during that point. Oh, obviously, I thought you had to have planned ahead with alcohol, but you were handing it over your phone, because I already know the outcome. Do you think that as a viewer, when you were watching that, if you didn't know already the truth, because obviously I told you ahead of time, what would you have thought? Because you said earlier, you saw Jack's like looking like a liar, like what were you
Starting point is 00:29:10 feeling? I know that you already knew, but can you even make that? It's hard to say, but I definitely think Jack's body language was like there were probably three different signs that this guy's definitely hiding something that he's definitely not telling the truth right now. And so that's where I'd be. No, I'm not trying to be like, was I a really good liar? Because I'm really grossed out with the way that I acted back then.
Starting point is 00:29:37 But I remember when these episodes aired that I was just like beside myself of like, I can't watch this shit. I don't want to be part of this. I had lost all my friends. I was not in a good place when these things were airing. So I never really like, yeah. Kind of. I mean, Stasi was very much in tune.
Starting point is 00:29:55 And this was reversed back to around the garage sales. She said that Kristen is too calm about this. It's when when rumors come out that are absolutely not too about Kristen, she's hysterical. She's way too calm about this. I don't trust it is what Stasi said. Well, that's interesting. I don't know if I was like that back then because maybe she must be right. She knew me very well. Yeah. I know. I would say the mean now, the mean over the last, you know, probably four or five years, especially. I really don't get defensive about what people say about me. However, if you come after my man, my family, my best friends, I will tear you to shreds.
Starting point is 00:30:32 But I think I've just gotten so used to and like sort of over the fact of people behind their screens, like kind of saying bad things that doesn't really bother me anymore. Yeah, okay. So anyway, yeah, so Jack's text back right on Q with what they had planned, that you're gonna find out later. Anyway, Stasi cries and apologizes and everything. Oh, God. And the last little scene though,
Starting point is 00:30:58 before it cuts is I'm guessing setting up the next episode but Shina and Che ring shopping. Don't really have a comment about that. But I'm guessing that scene is setting up the next episode but Shina and Chey ring shopping. Don't really have a comment about that, but I'm guessing that scene is setting up the next episode. What do you think about lying and cheating specifically as far as motivations and justifying it in one's head? Just as... It's a very blanket question,
Starting point is 00:31:22 but I agree with what you said about why people why. I think that was a really interesting statement. Why are you looking at me funny? I'm just listening. But I think that's a really interesting statement. As far as why people cheat, I think that there got, there's a million and one reasons and, you know, probably a million and one, not great reasons or at least a million great reasons and a million one reasons, right? I can say for me in that moment, I know that it happened twice. I don't remember it. We were extremely inebriated.
Starting point is 00:32:00 Very fucked up. Very, I was very unhappy. I was living with my boyfriend who was like my roommate and it was just like a person. It was just a person. Was it before or after you found out about Tom and Veyes? After. After? Oh yeah. It was after a few people. Wait, after Tom had after Tom had cheated on you a few different people. Yes. A few different people. Oh wow. Okay. I don't think people know that. I think people do. I think they know that Tom and Cheat on you a few different people. Yeah. Oh, wow. I don't think people know that. I think people do. I think they know that Tom and I cheat.
Starting point is 00:32:27 Once you haven't seen a lot of antipromptu rules, but once you get to the very end of antipromptu rules, there's a point where I'm dating Carter. There's a scene where I think it was Tom and Katie's bachelor bachelor or something like that. And I pull Santa Ball aside. I'm very drunk in New Orleans. And I'm just like, yo, stop talking shit.
Starting point is 00:32:46 Like stop bringing up things about me or like trying to say things to my boyfriend about who I am because you don't really know me anymore. Like at the time I'm dating Carter and I'm like, he knows me but I was like, also he knows about more people that I cheated on you with than even you know. So, so Tom and I were like very horrible. Like we were gross after like year two, we should have broken up and then we were essentially just like living single lives but like living
Starting point is 00:33:11 together and yelling at each other about why we were pretending we were single essentially. You know what I mean? So in the LA world was as part of that because of like to keep the dream going out here, like you kind of need roommates, you kind of need someone to help pay the bills, you need like that sort of thing. I think for Tom and I, for myself, it was just, it wasn't just like, oh, we share bills because a lot of the time I had to lend Tom money, like in the, especially like middle part of our relationship, but it was more just like, this is where I live, this is my life. I would say this is easy even though it wasn't easy, but it was like this is just
Starting point is 00:33:48 where I live, this is what I do, this is my job, this is my group of friends. I'll be miserable, but it's just what we do. Why change things? That's why people would make fun of Tom and I being like, oh, because the DVR box, or you didn't want to split up your phone bill that you had together, all these teeny tiny little things that we use as excuses as to why we couldn't break up. I just think it was easier to stay together than to go through the breakup because it was like, well, how is this going to affect
Starting point is 00:34:14 our friend group? Yeah, do you think you're afraid of change? Oh, yeah. Well, it used to be especially. You think I'm afraid of change now. I don't love change. You are definitely more than I am. Yeah, I don't love change, but back then I didn't want any kind of change.
Starting point is 00:34:28 It was terrifying. But I moved to LA. I met Tom the next year. And I was like, okay, here's my tribe. I work at Sir. Here's my boyfriend. We both do the same thing for a living. Here's our group of friends. You know, we built all of that over the course of a few years. It was like, just don't change anything. In the beginning, it was like,
Starting point is 00:34:45 it'll be Jackson, Stasi, Tom, and Kristen, Tom, and Katie forever. That would have been hell on earth. I can't think of anything more. And currently none of them are together. Correct. So, well, I guess partially maybe reality TV could be to blame to some degree.
Starting point is 00:35:00 Ooh, maybe not. I don't know. I think it just makes you look at the reality of what's happening. I could very well speed some things along. I'll say that. It definitely makes you face the demons. Yeah, exactly. Well, anyway.
Starting point is 00:35:15 Yeah. Yeah. But anyway, as far as I'm cheating, I think I was cheating because I was unhappy and I wasn't willing to look inside, like look internally for the happiness and like start learning to love myself and go to therapy and grow up a bit. It was just like, someone's gonna pay attention to me even if I barely remember it
Starting point is 00:35:37 and even if it's my boyfriend's best friend who like, I kind of, we kind of can't stand each other. It wasn't like a romantic thing, it wasn't any of that. And the lying was strictly just because I was terrified of fucking everyone over and losing everybody, which is exactly what happened, which in hindsight, I definitely would not do it again. It is something I regret, but in hindsight, my friends dumping me, my boyfriend leaving me and all of that was exactly what I needed to look
Starting point is 00:36:05 inward and make changes. Yeah, you gotta hit, sometimes people have to hit bottom to bounce, you know. Yeah, what do you think? About cheating, there's a plethora of reasons why people do it, and I think a lot of times it is fear of change. Like what I was bringing up there is that people are afraid to address the real issues, so they want to look somewhere else for distraction, for attention, for whatever it is that they see this ripple effect and think it's too great to just take a head on and
Starting point is 00:36:39 they look elsewhere. That's why I take on it. I think you're right. Thank you for saying it. I'm much more simplified version than I did. If you can tell I'm extremely uncomfortable. At the same time. My palms are sweating. Okay, well we can wrap this up. I just think it's also, I think for anyone that's not a psychopath, it's a low point for them that they're going to carry with them for a long time because no one wants to have a secret like that.
Starting point is 00:37:00 No one wants to hold on to anything like that. Even without having to overtly lie to all your friends about it. No one wants to have that in the back of their mind. I think you'd have to be a psychopath and not have that way on you day after day. Yeah. I mean, and I felt like a psychopath because I was still here to say people were like, well, you swore to God on like certain people's lives and stuff. And when I say I was willing to do anything to get away with this, I meant fucking do anything.
Starting point is 00:37:28 I swore on everything under the sun, I was literally trying to convince myself that this wasn't even true. I was like, did I make it up? Was I just, did I have like a weird drunk nightmare? Is it true? I don't know. It was very...
Starting point is 00:37:41 You were drinking a lot of that too. Fuck yeah. Yeah, exactly. We were out of our damlands. Alright, well that's it. Oh god, that was painful. I'm sorry. No, it's okay.
Starting point is 00:37:51 You know what? I made that bed. I had to lie in it. We decided to do these recaps. Here I am. Ten years later. Very different person. Much more grown up.
Starting point is 00:38:01 Yep. Absolutely. I still love you. Thank you. I mean, I knew I haven't seen this stuff before, but I knew some things that happened. No, it's not. I'm not enjoying this, but I'm doing my best to be professional and address this in a, you know.
Starting point is 00:38:15 Well, let's try to like, let's try to maybe speed through the rest of the season so we can enjoy these recaps with our fans. Yeah, absolutely. Well, they may still, they're probably going to enjoy what they get out of this. A lot more than we enjoyed record a hit. That's true.
