madness of gun violence claimed more victims this time in the Germantown section, during a drive-by shooting outside of a barbershop. Police walked Germantown Avenue, counting bullet casing after bullet casing. Three men and one woman are in the hospital now with injuries, while another man is dead, shot in the head. Action News reporter Dan Coyier is live at police headquarters with the latest on what we know. Good morning. Good evening. Good evening, Tamela. Police right now are still gathering information, but right now they're looking for a green car they believe that was involved in this heinous drive-by shooting on a very busy street with many people passing by on foot and by motor vehicle.

Police say it was a drive-by in broad daylight at 5.30 in the middle of rush hour when the smoke cleared, five people had been shot. The vehicle was traveling south on Germantown and at least one person, possibly two from that vehicle, opened fire. It happened in front of the R Brothers Barbershop in the 5100 block of Germantown Ave. A 28-year-old man killed, four others, including a 28-year-old woman, were wounded. I can't tell you why somebody at 5.30 in the evening would open fire on a group of people in broad daylight. Police say at least 15 shots were fired from two different caliber weapons. It don't stop. Somebody got to stop it. Somebody got to stop. Lamont King says among those shot was his 41-year-old cousin who was hospitalized.

He says his buddy Mac was the one who was killed. He notes they no longer wait till nighttime to kill you. But the time of the day, you don't know when you're going to go, man. At City Hall, a crowd gathered outside demanding something be done about all the gun violence that has plagued the city for almost two years now. It's crazy. I don't feel safe walking in my own city. I've been here 64 years, and I don't feel safe. That's not good.

Some groups have been clamoring for the governor to call in the National Guard to help, but the mayor and police do not believe that will help.
