You're listening to
The Adam and dr. Drew show yeah get it on got to get on the church again
I'm gonna get it on that there's more fortified that bit at kick kick kick
It's going on over there, Drew? 12 essential ways.
In Boca Raton, Florida,
looking over the Atlantic Ocean here, good times.
Nice.
What were you doing in Florida?
Ben Shapiro.
And as always, just,
there's nothing beats talking to a smart person.
You know what I mean?
Oh my God.
Yeah, the problem with dumb,
there's a problem with dumb people,
which is they don't know they're dumb.
I was just thinking that.
Yep, 100%.
And you're not allowed to say it, that's for sure.
And they used to know they were dumb.
And it was a funny,
it's interesting because something's just popping into my head make a note of this. So a few
days ago you and I spoke and I said when I was young and historically
throughout time and memoriam, I mean like, it wasn't really just in this country
or in the last hundred years or something.
When smart people spoke, dumb people sort of went,
well, I don't understand every word this guy's using,
but this guy, this guy's smart, you know what I mean?
And I think politicians, and you know, he was a statesman, you know what I mean? And you'd see the guy, and he was a statesman,
you know what I mean?
And you'd see the guy and he went to this school
and he graduated from that academy and he knows this
and he does that.
And the smart guys could offer you something.
Like you were at your benefit to listen.
It benefited you to take a listen yeah well I'm gonna
I'm gonna give Joe Prano who I just saw walk into the office a assignment I so I
was looking for this tweet that someone sent me on a Friday or Saturday or
something like that we couldn't find it but it was up and I thought I liked it, but evidently I didn't. But it was just a guy,
middle-aged guy, giving a five-minute basically lecture on speeches and
presidential speeches, politicians. So basically Kamala Harris does hers for
eighth graders and Trump does his for ninth graders. But if, I mean,
that's who, that's what it's for. I mean, that's the vocabulary they use. Those are
the ideas. But if you went back 50 years or a hundred years, they did it for grade 22
and 23. So, I mean, I'm not grade 22, but you were graduate they did it for college graduates when most of the nation didn't go to college
Yeah, because they were the states person. They weren't talking about good feelings and trying to connect with dumb people
Now this is a problem. So you and I had this conversation and then this person
So you and I had this conversation and then this person put this out there and it got and I don't know if it got tweeted to me or I just stumbled across it.
So I guess Joe would have to just sort of check online and maybe not even with Twitter.
But it was basically speeches, Kamala Harris, eighth grade, Trump, ninth grade, and then I don't know who after that from the past
was giving stuff for smart people.
So we used to understand what that was.
And this is a big, big, big problem in our society.
Dumb people shouldn't think they're smart.
They shouldn't because it has great effects and they get into positions
of power. AOC is a dumb person. Kamala Harris for all her degrees is not a smart, not a
bright person. Ben Shapiro is infinitely brighter than AOC is infinitely. It doesn't matter whether you like his ideas or not
Although you should like the idea of smart ideas of smart people. Yeah, it's generally there. They're more accurate
Or at least listen listen carefully
so
This is a self-esteem movement and a female empowerment movement. These are the two things that are causing this problem
And and by the way the notion that the truth is what Ben and I talked about a bit
The notion that the truth is meaningless. There's no such thing
Yeah, because it requires smarts to ascend to the truth. You have to be very careful in your thinking
Well, you just doesn't matter
You can say anything you just had the female who headed and I'll screw her title up a little but the
DHS had fed whatever and
Lady, of course and and she was being told
Look, you got your job numbers way off. Turns out there's 800 plus thousand
that you guys counted that don't count.
And she just went, I don't believe anything Trump says.
And then the person I was interviewing her said,
well, that's not Trump, that's your own office saying that.
And she's like, well, I don't know about that.
You know what I mean?
Like, oh, okay, you don't know about that. You know what I mean? Like, oh, OK, you don't know about that.
I guess that didn't happen.
I guess those 800,000 people had a job.
Because you don't know.
It's a shame to say that.
You don't know about that.
Yeah, of course, of course.
But they don't care.
That's the whole, that's the time we're living in.
Well, you know, it's so interesting.
Certain things stay with me.
And I have no idea why I remember certain things.
But this one C-SPAN, like, you know,
they have those sort of book reviews or something.
It was a panel.
And they were talking about the Alien and Sedition Act,
I remember, and I didn't really know what that was at the time.
This was now a year into the first Clinton administration.
So it was a long time ago, early 90s,
and I remember the guy saying, the guy was an academic,
and he goes, he said,
I'm so embarrassed to compare the language
and the rhetoric and the writing
and the speaking of our current president
compared to somebody like Theodore Roosevelt.
Look at his writings.
Look at how Theodore spoke back in the time. I would give anything
for Bill Clinton to be back. I would love him to be back. He looks like a genius now
compared to what's going on presently. And isn't that interesting that at that moment
looked like significant deterioration Well look
People don't enjoy hearing this but
Kamala Harris is a dope but she was put there because she's a black woman. So what do we expect out of this?
Transaction, you know, how would this work? So you go look she's a babbling dope. She doesn't want to do an interview She can't speak off the teleprompter and she talks in circles. We don't use the term dope enough Adam. We should use it. Okay, she's a babbling dope. She doesn't wanna do an interview. She can't speak off the teleprompter
and she talks in circles.
We don't use the term dope enough, Adam.
We should use the real word dope.
Okay, she's a dope.
She's insincere and she'll do whatever she has to do,
but she's a dope.
She's not a smart person.
Okay, and listen.
If she was a smart person, we would know it by now
Yeah, she's not well, I mean she's not I mean a bright person she's not a bright I mean people forget those those
Circuitous roundabout then diagram. Yeah. All right, but but here's the whole point. Here's the whole point
she's a dope and her ideology is bad, but
she's a dope and her ideology is bad, but she's only there because she's a black female.
So why should it be different than what we'd like?
You know what I mean?
I mean, they could put Karen Bass there.
She was in the running.
She's a dope too, but what?
And then here's the problem, Drew.
Okay.
Are you a dope
or is the shit policy that you are forced to champion make you seem like
a dope?
Ooh, nice.
Because if somebody said, look.
I thought it was more of that to be honest.
I really did.
Well, let's say, well, look, Adam's a, yeah, but why would you defend shit? Okay, so if somebody said. Well, that's the mystery to me say well look Adams a break up, but but why would you defend shit pop? Okay?
So if somebody said that's what that's the mystery to me Adam actually mysterious to me
Adam is a bright guy who wants to defund the police and doesn't like school choice and doesn't want remain in Mexico and
Doesn't and wants all cars to be electric by
2040 and doesn't want nuclear power then you
go well how can Adam be a bright guy right if that's what he wants if he
wants a bunch of dopey shit that can't work yeah you know what I mean like how
well look at a certain point it's not a connect for tournament we're gonna have
to look at what you do and figure out if you're dope or not by what you think is going to happen.
Are you a dope?
Yeah.
Well, but you know, but so, okay, you're kind of putting your finger on something kind of
interesting to me because I, I,
This is a video.
There's no article part.
It's a, it's a video of a middle-aged guy talking for five minutes.
So if you find an article, that shall not be what we're referencing keep going I just think to myself is this the kind of stuff they
have to say to get elected and they just do whatever and that that's just how it
that's the world yes yes it's now that's doing anything say anything to get
elected and that's that well they'll do, say anything except for they will walk back the stupid stuff they
said that won't get them elected from several months earlier or a few years earlier.
Well, it really begs the issue, what were they talking about then?
In the first place?
Yeah, what was that all about?
Well, you know, I'll tell you what happened.
That wasn't what you really believed or if you were going to abandon that because or
that's, you know, what am I supposed to think of that? That's the interesting thing. I'll tell you what happened what you really believed or if you're gonna abandon that because or that's you know
What am I supposed to think of that? That's the interesting thing
I'll tell you how it works. All right, you get in front of some sort of partisan crowd and
then
somebody says
What do you want to do and you go? Well, we're gonna have all electric cars by
to do and you go well we're gonna have all electric cars by 2040 and then the crowd cheers yeah and they go what are you gonna do about fracking and you go
get rid of it day one and then the crowd cheers some more and then you go and
then what else what about abortion it's not only gonna be legal there's gonna be
mobile abortion vans they're gonna drive right right in your carport and will
abort your teenage daughter's child in your carport and then the crowd cheers harder
right because they love it and then at a certain point you have to sort of push
this platform onto a national stage and turns out nobody wants any of the stuff
you just talked about so then you have explain, you've changed your mind.
Which also suggests that you don't have any thoughts of your own.
You don't, what do you really believe?
That's the part that gets confusing for me.
Right.
Shall I trust you?
Well, you know, they do this thing all the time.
They go, oh, Obama changed his mind on gay marriage.
I don't know if he changed his mind.
It used to be unpopular,
so he wasn't for it, and then it became popular, so he was for it. Is that changing your mind?
You know what I mean? Like, if the dominant religion is Judaism and I'm a Jew and then
later on it becomes Christianity, so I switch over to Christianity, am I really switching
ideologies or am I just kind of going with the flow?
And you know, we don't expect leaders to go with the flow we expect them expect them to leave like have an opinion have a
Something well, they have here's the problem
Every single person in
Leadership knows that Social Security is going to be bankrupt in
a few years.
How dare you?
None of them will talk about raising the age or modifying it in any way because it's wildly
unpopular.
So a lot of it is stupid populists who want things.
Look, what percentage of politicians actually thought defunding the police was a good idea or black lives matters a good idea
Shutting down schools was a good. I I don't know what they thought they just
Didn't they didn't lead is the is the is the answer to that
Yeah, and so what what am I to think about from, how's this going to work going forward?
Do leaders lead anymore ever? And if so, how? And what's going on?
Well, okay, here's what I would say. Here's what I would say. You need to not be affiliated with a party per se.
I mean, as a long time, look,
Joe Biden has been in politics for 50 years, right?
So you're not gonna get anything out of him, right?
He's gonna do what he's told to do or they do, whatever.
Now, if Elon Musk ran for president,
you would get something out of him. It might not be what you wanted, but it's what he wanted.
Yeah. So what Joe Biden does is, who knows what Joe Biden thinks?
You know what I'm saying? He's doing what the party tells him to do.
You get a better shot at it with Trump because he's not been ensconced in that world for
50 years.
He's generally new, but he's still in a party, so there's some of that.
The cleanest shot you would get at it would be an Elon Musk type.
You need... RFK? be an Elon Musk type. You need.
RfK?
Yeah, RfK type.
You know, you need a non-affiliation
mixed with F me money.
You gotta have F me money.
Yes, I just did.
That's.
Not F you money, but F me.
F you money is good, F me money's better.
It's more money.
All right, I have a clip.
I want to play for you, Drew.
And it's part of the problem.
And the problem is that,
so this Zuckerberg thing came out
and surprise, surprise, he was suppressing information
about COVID.
Yeah.
And of course, they're lying about the 100 Biden laptop thing, which is so nobody seems
to care about.
It's called election interference, by the way, what they did, what the FBI did.
By the way, I applaud him.
All I want is people to go, hey, here's what happened. I made a mistake. It's not gonna happen again
I love that. I want more of that. Yeah
Yeah, but he's also a sort of partisan Democrat guy who was definitely
playing ball
Yeah, well then that should be part of the apology. And he definitely affected the election.
That should be part of the apology. Well, it's not going to be part of the apology. He's not going to
admit that part. But, and there may be a reason he's doing this, but here's all I'm saying. Here
is the problem. I'm going to show you the problem, which is, so Zuckerberg just said he tampered,
and they shouldn't have tampered with COVID, and they shouldn't have tampered with
COVID and they shouldn't have tampered with Hunter Biden's laptop. And then it
came up on TMZ and I'll show you the problem with where we're at.
This is a clip of them sort of arguing the merits of
Zuckerberg and what he did. This is so depressing. Okay, now you're getting it.
That's America, kids.
You hang in there, brother sucker.
May need to play the whole clip, Emmy.
We can take a minute.
So basically, here's the problem.
Yeah, that was good, though.
Whoever said this is depressing is right.
Let me tell you the problem.
Oh, maybe we'll just play the whole thing.
It's... We'll set it over whole thing. It's a minute.
The problem is, is when somebody,
and it's normally somebody who bought in
to all the COVID bullshit and who loves the big government
and who loves all this shit,
all the shit we hate, they love it.
But they're really just leftists,
or democratic leftists, right?
When you tell them this shit, they go,
it is a good idea to suppress dangerous ideas
on the internet.
What are you talking about?
You know what I mean?
And then they go, then they get into
what you heard the dumb shit saying well
So so the government can't say you have to wear a seatbelt
The government says you know you don't have to stop at red lights now. There's a crucial part of this that they're missing
They act like
It's it's a very interesting
We'll play the clip and then I'll tell you the kind of bait in the switch part of the argument
Because there's always the bait in the switch part. Sorry. I mean go ahead
Free speech one of the most sacred rights that we as Americans
What the hell government what we say this guy knows what we're talking about
Mark Zuckerberg says the Biden administration pressured him to censor speech on the platform. Okay, that is
a huge deal that he said this because this is what a lot of
people suspected he wrote to the House Judiciary Committee
chairman Jim Jordan and said senior Biden administration
officials, including the White House repeatedly pressured
facebook to censor certain stories about the pandemic.
He says they did it and he regrets it.
He also says the Hunter Biden story,
which the New York Post complained about their stories being pushed down.
He says, yes, we did demote them because we were hearing from the administration
that this might be Russian disinformation.
Yeah, no, he says there was no evidence of that.
Could have swayed the election, whether it affected the election or not.
It's so anti-democratic.
The most important thing in this country is free speech.
Now Taylor Swift freezes peanut butter cups then free speech, but go on.
If you don't have free speech, you don't have democracy.
It is good that they demote certain speech if it is Russian disinformation.
So we want to talk about 2020 may have been swayed by this.
2016 was certainly swayed by Russian disinformation.
The COVID thing is...
All right, you can pause it there
Okay, they got the one liberal lawyer in there
Who doesn't know what the fuck he's talking about? Yeah, see that's what they do. They go
Well, it is good. You got to do stuff because of the Russian disinformation
You know, you mean that thing you guys made up that they're really thing. There's a brainwashing
They're talking about what the brainwashed content is.
Right.
Yeah.
Well, we'll keep playing it, Emi.
Jesus.
Pretty crazy.
In most certain speech, if it is Russian disinformation.
So we want to talk about 2020 may have been swayed by this.
2016 was certainly swayed by Russian disinformation.
The COVID thing, to me, is way more bothersome.
People were shouted down.
They were viewed as Trumpers, anti-vaxxers.
They truly believed in the information
that people were putting up on Facebook was false
and was dangerous.
You have to tolerate that.
No.
This is not a Republican-Democratic.
This is a democracy thing.
Bill Zuck agrees and says,
we're ready to push back
if something like this happens again.
I don't want the government telling Facebook
where to place things. Let us decide this happens again, I don't want the government telling Facebook where to place things
Let us decide this no no
Everything so okay everyone should drink and no one should wear a seat belt
Here's the false flag bullshit of all this part
You go, this guy, the liberal guy,
who thinks there's a bunch of Russians,
the Russians, it's 2024, still doesn't understand
the Russians' lack of participation in the past elections.
But okay.
First things first,
Russia doesn't want Trump to be president. I know they come come up this story about it. There are best friends and everything
No, he does not much rather have a dead man and a dumb chick in there
I would they could just do whatever the fuck they want and as evidence by them doing whatever the fuck they want
They have examples called Ukraine
Okay, but anyway
They do this bullshit where they go
The government should be able to try to police
dangerous false ideas and then you think to yourself
well
Okay, that does make a certain amount of sense
I mean
I don't want somebody going on the internet and saying a tsunami is going to hit Santa Monica at noon on
Saturday and have panic. You know what I mean? Like, I don't
want that. So you go, okay, you're missing the point. The
government wasn't trying to save you from COVID. That's the
point. The government didn't think Hunter Biden's laptop was Russian disinformation.
They didn't think that. They knew it wasn't. And they knew Ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine
were fine. This is the part you liberals are missing. You're not missing the part where
you have this good faith argument.
Yeah.
No, no. That's not what they were doing.
Right.
Do you think, okay, forget about COVID.
Hunter Biden's laptop.
They're trying to censor Facebook
because of Hunter Biden's laptop,
because they legitimately believe
that the Russians hacked into that,
even though their own FBI has the laptop
and knows that's not true.
So what are they doing, liberal lawyer douche on TMZ?
What are they doing?
Well, they're lying.
They're lying.
That's what they did throughout COVID.
So you make this argument of like, yeah, but they're just trying to do their best to keep
the science and whatever.
I would have a lot of tolerance for that.
Do you know what I mean?
Well, I mean, be careful, because then they could go,
they're lying because they're trying to do the right thing.
I don't have tolerance.
Listen, if you told me Rochelle Walensky
and the CDC was doing their best
to get the accurate information out there,
if you told me CNN and Sanjay Gupta were doing it,
if you told me Fauci was doing his best instead of protecting the lab leak theory, if you told me all
of this stuff, I would be forgiving about it. That's not what they were doing. That's my whole
point. If you told me the 51 FBI Intel experts who signed the document that
said the Hunter Biden's laptop was a fake, if they actually believed it and they're doing
their best to defend democracy, then I would defend them, but they're not. They're lying.
That's the whole point that these guys are missing.
But be careful, because remember, they were trying to save the country from Hitler, so
they lied to save the country.
They're still lying. What I'm saying is the government
and the Biden administration is getting ahold of Facebook
and they're fucking lying to you.
That's what it is.
It's not earnestly trying to save people from COVID.
That's what I'm saying.
All right, Joe found that video
about the guy telling you speeches and it's funny because that's
just telling you that off the air earlier dumb people it's part of the
self-esteem movement dumb people used to know they were dumb I used to have
people tell me they were dumb I told people I was dumb all the time my whole
childhood all right here's this guy.
Back when I was a professor I ran every inaugural address through a flesh King Kade text analysis
to measure the grade level. The logic being that top speech writers know how to talk at
voters level. Doing that it turns out we are getting dumb breathtakingly fast. In 1900, Inaugurals were written at between 13th
and 14th grade. In other words, modern college level. Today, they're 8th grade for Obama,
9th grade for Trump, and 7th grade for Joe Biden.
It gets worse the further back we go. Andrew Jackson's 1828 Inaugural was written at 22nd grade, meaning strictly speaking, two PhDs
was the median voter in 1828.
Keep in mind Jackson was a populist man of the people.
Washington's inaugural was closer to 26th grade, so you'd need that third PhD.
Also keep in mind almost nobody in 1828 or 1789 had a formal education.
Jackson, for example, kicks off with, quote, undertaking the arduous duties that I've been
appointed.
Washington starts with, quote, among the vicissitudes incident to life.
For Biden, it's, quote, this is America's day.
All right.
You can pause it.
So listen, this is a big issue
Yeah
Because we've decided there's more dumb people than smart people and dumb people don't know they're dumb anymore because of the self-esteem
Movement we're now catering everything to dumb people
This is why when you go into a fucking sports bar in Detroit, they're pumping Cardi B.
Literally.
You'll hear shitty, young, dumb people music
pumped into every fucking venue you're at now.
This is idiot, what was that movie called?
Idiocracy.
Idiocracy, sorry.
Idiocracy.
Where are you?
I like Cardi B.
No you don't.
She's an idiot.
She's this dumb person,
and she's a weird cultural phenomenon
because Cardi B makes videos and she's like,
hey y'all, I pay taxes a lot
and then I gotta go down the subway and see some dude sleeping? What am
I paying the taxes for?" And then all the white people on the right go, oh yeah, yeah,
yeah, but she's really dumb. She's really dumb. And all she's saying is what, listen,
my son had those thoughts when he was six and a half.
Right, out of the mouths of babes. That's right. That's what's nice to see.
I know.
That people are allowed to say the obvious
It's really that she's a black woman just saying sort of normal semi-obvious stuff. That's her. That's the rub
She never says anything smart. She just says super obvious shit that you don't hear coming out of her ilk
I just like it
All right, so dumb people who want free shit dumb people who want free shit
That's the new world order in terms of politicians
Yeah, so and they don't care and I've been telling you they don't care is the part that I find most troubling
I guess what are we doing? What's up? You know, what what's the plan here guys? They don't care is the part that I find most troubling, I guess. Like, what are we doing? What's up? You know, what's the plan
here, guys? They don't care. They want the power and now they
get the money too, which is like so disturbing. There's so much
corruption in there that that's so fucked up.
Oh, my God, it's just we're looking at this video of, you
know, Gavin Newsom is going and twenty seven micro homes for the homeless whatever and it's like it's been two years
I spent two hundred million dollars. I got no no houses
It's just it's
You know down here in Florida there's building everywhere people are working people are happy everywhere wherever I look. Yeah, well not here. No
No, but
It's it's at a point it's kind of an interesting thing
There was a quote I'm looking at Emmy I
Think it was attributed to Stalin,
but I'll try to figure it out.
And I'll paraphrase, but it was sort of basically
one death is a tragedy and a million deaths is a statistic,
or some version of that.
No, no, no, one death is a tragedy, two deaths are a tragedy,
20,000 is an incident. Is it an incident? I think that's No, no, no. One death is a tragedy, two deaths are a tragedy. Twenty thousand is an incident.
Is it an incident?
I think that's what it is.
The quote, according to the Russians, so who knows how it's translated.
All right, and we'll look for it.
But here's the whole point.
We're kind of at the point in California where it's like, well, you spent a hundred billion
dollars on a bullet train that doesn't exist. And you spent 24 billion on homelessness and it didn't work.
And you spent millions on tiny homes
and you haven't built any yet.
And the government carved out like 40 billion to get,
I think to get high speed internet throughout the country
and they haven't done any of it yet
It's literally no nothing yet and and also like a bill
You know 40 billion dollars for charging stations for electric cars that built seven, you know, whatever the whole here's my point
It's so mind-numbing that we just keep walking. Yeah. Yeah at this point
Yeah, yeah, yeah The death of one man is
a tragedy. The death of millions is a statistic. Okay. Wait a minute. Isn't that what I've
basically what the fuck I said, Drew? That's what you said. And then you jumped in, then
you jumped in and said no, it's something that's what it isn't? I have to say that's
not the, that's not the quote I've heard but okay I'll look
around Joseph Stalin the death of one man is a tragedy I said one you said one
or two I said two or something and then 20,000 and then I said then millions is
a statistic which I think I said and then you said something else I said no
then you said like incident yes I did say it's okay true quiet next time you have thoughts
Okay, so now is that kind of what this is
You know me like you live in California. Just go we just spent a hundred billion dollars on a train
That's not a bullet train that doesn't work. Yeah. Okay. What are you gonna do?
We just spent 24 billion on homeless and we didn't stop.
We got more homeless.
Okay.
That's just, we can't wrap our minds around it.
It's now a statistic is what it is.
Yeah. All right.
Which means nothing, which is zero to us.
