welcome back to the basement yard it is Monday October 17th and I have a guest
a new guest popping his cherry right now I hate that turn was gross but Johnny
Petrop is here one of my good friends one of my old good friends I am here I'm
not that old I met old like we used to hang out all the fucking time like four
years ago I may not have hair but my rapper friend who used to appear in my
first ever videos before I started making like I don't know what the fuck
they're called like these rant videos on YouTube I used to just have a camera
and I would just film random shit like it was like a camcorder and I remember
the day before I filmed my first ever video on YouTube like one of the rant
ones I was like I went to your house because I was like yo I need a haircut
and it was like late at night and like I knew I was gonna shoot a video the next
day and my hair looks like shit it was terrible so I was like I have clippers
yeah and I helped with that right right so I'm clippers I'm like I'm gonna go
Johnny what's up can you it looked from shit to dog shit right like human shit
to like straight oh yeah just like less shit it's like you know it was shitty
but whatever didn't like didn't no shape up nothing he just buzzed my head my
hairline look like a heartbeat like it was so funny though but I think that
video is still on YouTube I'm not sure but I'm like my old channel and it was
called like homemade haircut homemade haircut homemade haircut it's just a video
you and you know how long ago that was that we so long dude we went to my house
because my parents weren't home yeah that's why we were there we get hair on
the bathroom floor let's drink one beer dude trash bro but dude I fucked up
your hair all right yeah I just need you to buzz it and I was just like yeah I
just whatever first of all I'll sound like you remember in the video I said
like yeah just give me like a mohawk like I don't give a fuck who cares and he
like the first thing he does is buzz down the middle of my head I'm like what
the fuck are you doing certified barber yeah oh my god dude those are the days
that was a fucking long-ass time ago remember the music we played it was
like the Titanic music we had inside the video oh my god yes tell me film the
whole thing and we were singing like high school musical I forgot about that
you had hair I had hair you should have come on bro got me prepared for the
future bald that was so good yeah you know it's funny that I remember do you
remember at the end of that video where I picked up a pair of sunglasses in your
room yes and so listen these sunglasses and this is funny it's really funny now
it's fucked up but it's really funny now I gave them to my mom like a week ago
I still have them oh my god all right so listen I found these sunglasses in his
room as I'm like filming right and there were sunglasses that you bought for
your ex-girl I bought them for my ex-girl and then we broke up and I was
like I need those sunglasses back so she drove to my crib and delivered them to
me right so I made this joke right which was like you know I was a fucking like
18 year old asshole so I made this joke on camera like an obvious joke I wasn't
trying to like convince people but I was just like oh he got his glasses back and
he got a blowjob and then and then like I know I just like did it like three times
and someone said someone's like yeah yeah that's cool but he got a blowjob like with
the glasses right and I remember like I filmed it and I didn't plan on putting
it on the internet at all and then I hit you up and I was like yo is it cool if
this goes in like it's kind of funny to me and you're like dude I don't care
what is like 300 people gonna see it who gives a shit not even not even not even
like a hundred people like who cares a hundred people gonna see who gives a
fuck now it has like 400,000 she texted me and she was like and a blowjob
that that that that I still remember and a blowjob and I was like I was like yeah
do it for the camera yeah I feel so bad hilarious I don't feel bad at all did
she like was she pissed or like she was cool about it I most likely got a
blowjob after that anyway Jesus Christ oh man what a fucking dick but I
remember that and then like now I'm looking back on it I'm like oh a lot of
people have seen that now yeah dude we were dicks I know I was really bad but
you also thank God you covered it but you showed your driver's license I covered
your fucking address that smile yeah yeah you're the only kid I know that is
teasing and they're fucking driver dude I think about it like this it's gonna
save me from you know tickets if I ever get pulled over I'm gonna save you I'll
be like you know officer I'm sorry here you are he's gonna see a good guy with a
nice smile he's gonna be like I'm gonna let this guy go that was my my thinking
on that one has that ever happened I don't get pulled over never I've been
driving for like five years and I haven't been pulled over once knocking on
the phone and I fucking speed do you yeah it's bad knocked on the floor just
because you know because we got wood out here what floor but so I don't know
where the fuck I was where I was talking about right now but so my friend Johnny
here is a rapper rapper rapper rapper tell me how that started because it kind of
came out of nowhere it came out of nowhere yeah I mean when I was a kid
your brother actually was my brother was was the rapper he was rapping and I
remember I like record cuz I used to fuck with garage band all the time so I
recorded a song remember that no oh man we I think my our first ever song we
recorded I think you were like the first person that we sent it to right and I
don't know it was off garage band and it was just fire yeah like it wasn't fire
but it was fire at the moment it's like oh my god never mind I'm not gonna
bring that up but we made an R&B song and it was about something we did we had
autotune and I was surprisingly really good at singing with that shit Joe is a
multi-talented individual I was singing with autotune on you right now I
remember I remember when we played that for people they were like yeah who is
this I was like that's me they're like what sign them up yeah so anyway how did
how did that start I just when I was a kid out I was in middle school we went
to the same middle school yeah we don't know we were in different grades but you
know you know how Louis Armstrong was you know you played basketball you
wrapped and that's how it was so I was with the kids who you know wrapped all
the time and I just started writing I didn't take it serious you know but
people like yo dog you got bars you know ABC bars back in like sixth grade yeah
and then I would write poetry I never shared it with anyone's kind of like
personal to myself and then once I was done with poetry you know Timmy my my
older brother he's you know you know Timmy he he started rapping and I was
like yo I could do this too you know I mean cuz my dad's musician his music
all over the house and he started rapping and I was I just started picking up the
pen again and I was like I want to record and I've got in contact with a
couple people I got into the studios and this is what I'm doing now and that
was that's a long time ago time ago I was my first the first time I ever
recorded a song I was 20 what song was it this life and so yeah yeah I remember
because like back then like I wasn't like popular back then I don't think like
it's like you want me first now you're an official cool kid like I didn't have
like crazy amounts of views or anything but like I remember you and Timmy being
like yeah we want you to be completely honest with the music whatever and the
first time we were sitting in my car I remember on this other strip and you
played young and dumb I remember but yeah but you played some other song before
that and I was like oh this is good then you play young and dumb and I was like I
love this fucking song yeah and it was like the second song you ever recorded
ever ever yeah and I was like yo this was dope and I really liked it and we
actually shot a music video for that well I didn't shoot it but just Frank just
Frank shot the music video at your summer house it was fun it was mad fun
and we were hammered and I was just I had a buzz cut and mad skinny it was dope
it was dope bro we got fucked up oh yo I was coming through all types of the
night oh my god it's just like people show up like what the fuck is it like I
didn't invite you are you yeah I didn't know what the fuck was going on but I
did shoot two music videos for you that you did the first one was the song called
no stress you can find all these songs on the internet or YouTube YouTube is
Johnny Petra so the music video that I shot I shot to the first one was called
no stress no stress and we just like shot it in a bunch of different areas in our
neighborhood and like it was such like a it was like such a Mac Miller-y yeah
this is before you found like your sound it was like the first like absolutely
songs that you made you know what I mean and it was kind of like whatever and
remember we were both big fans of Mac Miller yeah huge influence yeah on what
I was because I remember people put out I'm sick this is this is a ripoff come on
man like this kid like just fucking started doing his shit but I liked it I
thought it was awesome and it was well received to like it has a bunch of views
yeah I think I don't check my views on the reg but last time I checked that was
like 33,000 yeah so we we shot that that was mad fun to shoot we just drove
around I think we shot it all in one day one day did we yeah and you shot
something with Timmy I think oh no no no we did shoot him it was just like in my
house and then like in your house and then in a park and then on the strip we
got a couple shots I remember when I when I throw the ball behind my back and it
just like it's like oh my god that was the first everything that I shot I'm
over there with my like like I don't know anything about like filming music
videos or like did a good job I mean I did all right like I tried to match up
the audio I think I was still using like I move you back then I'm pretty sure I
was because it was you know hard that is doing it I'm gonna be like I'm gonna be
fucking blows yeah it's so much easier to do with the program I remember the
other music video that you recorded for me was all the endless nights yeah and
you were like yo this when you first heard it you were like yo this might be
the best thing you ever make in your life did I say that yeah and then after
you were done like making the music video you're like I don't never want to
fucking hear that song ever oh my god yeah yeah because when you're editing a
music video you have to listen to it four times okay I can I'm pretty sure if
you played it I would know all the lyrics to it but you know I just that
song and it was like a lot and it's like there's no chorus zero just like a
bars but that that that music video I liked better all the endless nights that
one there was some planning into it yeah like a shitty camera but it was pretty
like I mean it wasn't like the you know best we could do yeah it was it was dope
don't man it was a lot of fun I gotta shoot another one yes because I think
now I'd be better at it talk my shit of his new project coming out Tim you
played it for me all day and I was just like sitting here just yeah I was like
let's go you know it's so cool when you have a friend who makes music you just
made the music too for a degeneration bets degeneration bets podcast break it
down that comes out of this place Santa Carlos studios yeah you're the intro
fucking shit on the DX beat on the DX beat crazy a lot of copyrighted shit the
fuck up Joe shut all right so before we move on we're gonna get to this fucking
hilarious story but I would give you guys this spot sir we have paint night again
paint night events or social painting parties which are perfect caught never
mind I'm not gonna read this they're perfectly you sure yeah I said cock
basically paint night you go to these places and they teach you how to paint
and you just get loaded you get hammered I actually did that with my girl
it's a good time my painting sucked but it was great definitely had the worst
painting in there yeah it's I it sounds like the coolest shit ever fun we
should go man yeah I'm down but it's yeah whatever but I'm super down like my
mom and my sister went once and my mom was just like probably had 400 bottles
of wine that night and her there they came back their paintings were great
though and I'm like fuck you guys know how to draw yo they're fun they're fun
they teach you how to paint you you know I'm saying yeah bring bring BYOB it's
on Groupon for like $20 it's a great date night yeah I mean it's it's an art
class it's not it's not an art class it's a party they just let you do what you
gotta do that you do what you gotta do so go to paint night calm so you use the
promo code basement for 35% off your tickets okay paint night and night is
spelled not I ght it's spelled P so shut the fuck up Joe here we're gonna go so
the website is paint night calm that's P A I N T N I T E dot com and use the promo
code basement for 35% off your tickets okay local night near you turn up I'm
trying to do that though turn up I'm trying to do that dude it's fun I feel
like I can't draw to begin with it's okay if I'm drunk yo bro what did you
add the painting um it was a sailboat in an ocean but it didn't look like a
sailboat in the ocean pizza in a puddle yeah that's exactly what it was it's
funny because you're with other like groups of people too and you're all
doing the same painting and everyone gets to see what you're doing like you're
and then everyone's like damn bro I tried shit that's so fun all right so
we're gonna get into this story here so back in the day when me and me and
Johnny were a couple of bachelors yeah we were there was a there was some you
know we have some crazy times you know that we have but this one time is in
particular I was not with him but some crazy shit happened some crazy
stand back and let you tell this story to people I'm probably gonna forget some
details so I will have questions but can you please explain what happened on this
this one particular night that I will so it's funny that we brought up paint
nights because one of my friends girlfriends was having a birthday party
yeah and we went somewhere in the city I forget the exact spot and it was a
highlighter party the fuck is that we all we wore white t-shirts we had
highlighters and we signed each other shirts right was there like a black light
and like stood out like no no like green and like green and orange
highlighters so you know we were to sign each other's shirts and you know how I
am when I go out man you know how it is a fucking creep yeah you know I'm saying
I creep so I I you know I see these two girls and they asked me about my shirt
I'm learning I'm no blah blah blah go back get a drink my boy Lou goes up to
them and they tell him something and he comes back he's like all pissed cuz
he's like fucking bitches don't like me so you know that typical dude shit yeah
these girls are far you woke up like nah dude like man those bitches man all
sudden they're like bitches so you know I get a little more drinking me and I'm
talking to these two girls and we decide to bounce they're like yo you want to
come back with us and I'm like absolutely all right so we take the
train wait where were they going they were going we had to find her car
we're in the city right now right we're in the city so we're taking the train
to where to Queensbridge okay project so find her car to find her car cuz she
just decided to fucking know I don't know what she did with her she just decided
to park in Queensbridge projects that night and go to the fucking I think
we're on the lower east side like who does that yeah that's a man random man
random she didn't live there either I'm like the fuck yeah so we get to the
projects and can't find this girl's car for like 30 minutes and she's like yo
you got to find my car I'm like I don't even know what car yeah I'm looking for
she gives me the key somehow I finally find this fucking car nice car silver
car forget what exactly a model silver car silver you know nice and shiny so she
tells me she's too drunk to drive which I don't believe was true but she's like
yo I'm I could you drive I'm like yeah I could drive so I get in the car and you
know we're driving I believe we're going I forget where exactly like we're going
Long Island I forget where I was going so deep from there like was it like 30
40 minutes dude it was I was on the road for like 30 minutes again I told you I
speed I was speeding bro I was going she was calm down like yo relax I got this
you told me to drive remember that is it 2 a.m. oh dude it this oh I got in the
car and the Sun was coming up so there's no one on the road no one so I was
going like I think I reached like 120 with you yeah I don't follow in those
footsteps but yeah I'm going fast and she's all like calm down so I slow down
I'm going like 80 now cruising and the girl in the front seat just happens to
you know starts kissing up on my neck and shit while you're driving while I'm
driving this is this girl clearly you're going 120 this girl's kissing your
neck yeah so I'm like I'm cool with it she's kissing on my neck she's feeling
on my legs and shit and then she started she just like it starts you know
touching me in you know places where I like to be touched my little boy part
so yeah she starts you know jerking me off
you know she's jerking me off and dick out dick out dick out chicken back seat
great great times and she's sitting like in the middle or on a window she's like
all kind of like leaning over oh she's she's she's like oh my god stop and then
the whole time okay so then you know I got the GPS on we're like three minutes
away from her house so I pull up to the to their house well her house the one in
the backseat and you know by this time we're just in front of this girl's house
my dicks out and this girl's touching it and then the one from the backseat comes
into the front seat what the how what do you mean like she like leans over okay
and like she's like I it was I don't know how we pulled that shit off right
this sounds like a busy situation yeah it was like whoa but you know you can't
say no to that so they're both in the front seat with me and they both start
giving me a nice blow ski you know it was great that's insane insane but it
gets more insane oh so I'm getting this blow ski for like this is where it takes
a major people thought like oh it's a BJ story no no no no this is different this
isn't your normal BJ story it's about to take a turn for the for the I don't know
worst or best I'm not sure but it's just hilarious yeah so I'm getting this
dough blows I'm all in it you know I'm saying I'm this is great looking down
like yo this is fucking amazing I was not expecting to do this tonight I've been
dreaming about this for years thank you so yeah so and then all of a sudden I
hear this boom boom boom boom on the hood of the car and I look up I was like
yo who the fuck is that to the girls and the one from the backseat goes oh my
god that's my husband and now I was like what oh my god he's like get the
fuck out of the car get the fuck out and this is only a fucking there's only
two door there's only two doors in this car oh so I get the fuck out yo I lock
the door I'm like yo guys I'm not getting the fuck out of this car there's no
way of leaving this car so I'm like yo you got to go tell us the one in in the
how's she gonna get out you know throw some roof I was like yeah you got to go
you know now she's in the front seat okay but I just call the one in the
back seat because that's how I know them I'm like yo you got to go there's no so
she gets out of the car and her friend like being that we were so squished they
both like fall out of the car and the dude just straight up like the doors
opening he like reaches over to grab me by the way this guy was like you know
that song um too sexy for my shirt yeah he was like that bro he was like bald
jacked tank top but there was not yeah I'm not fucking with that so he fucking
goes to grab me and I'm like fuck this I put that shit in drive and I zoom out
all right right so I'm on my way home right little do I remember it's not my
car dude I'm on the road for like 20 minutes dude I'm on the road for like
20 minutes and I'm like holy shit this isn't my car yeah I don't know how I got
back my phone was dead oh my god dude I would have never gotten back I have no
direction mean either that's the craziest part right so I don't know how I got
back but I got back and I see this girl she's fucking crying on the curb and I'm
like y'all get in and she's like no you stole my car but I'm like oh I obviously
didn't steal your car right here I'm like your car is here I'm here so she
comes into the car and it's like dude I drive home right I'm driving I'm driving
me home and wait now you're in the car with her I'm in the car with her car with
her car and you're driving yourself I'm driving myself home no words were
spoken really zero so I pull up to my house and mistake number one by the way
I know pull like a block away at least do it I know I fucked up I worked out
though you're alive I'm alive I pulled I pulled up and she really says she's like
so I had a good time could I have your number I didn't even say anything I just
looked at her and I was like blank stare yeah got out no no phone because it's
dead I have no keys because I left them with my brother and I'm just ringing my
doorbell fucking frantically what time is it it's like 6 a.m. 7 a.m. and no one
answers the door so I fell asleep on my stoop my mom wakes me up at like 9 30 in
the morning she's like what the fuck are you doing out here man I'm like wish you
don't want to know but yeah that was an end to this day we called it Grand
Theft Auto yeah that was night Grand Theft Auto that was the Grand Theft Auto night
that's the story you stole a car got a double beach and almost died and then
you were the first person I texted in the morning yo you cannot you have no idea
what happened to me last night you say that I remember it's like blackberry
days if you guys BBM man you sent me like a voice note like yo I gotta talk to
you in the morning I was like why is he hitting me up at 6 a.m. talking about
he talked to me in the morning like oh my god I remember I I was texting you
and you were just straight up I was like this can't be true I needed to hear it
in person like I was like yeah you need it I need I'm coming over like what the
fuck bro nothing that cool has ever happened to me I don't know if that's
cool like just like I don't know if that I want that to happen or I don't want it
to happen you know what I mean it's very scary honestly I'm not sure if I want
that happen to me again that guy ever if he grabbed on to you would have been
I would have not been here right now you guys would not be listening to my
music it was just fun fuck John Petropoulos he's gone dude that's
insane that's my husband crazy when she said that like I felt you know when
people say they feel their hearts drop yeah like I didn't only feel my heart
drop I felt my heart fucking come out of my asshole yeah it was out down on the
block straight up Taco Bell diarrhea yeah yeah my dick would have shriveled up
into nothing oh yeah it's over oh hard gone you know I'm just picturing you
driving and then realizing fuck this isn't my dude it was like one of those
movie moments when you look at yourself in the rear view you're like oh shit I
this isn't my car like oh I got something to do like you have that that
realization of yourself my god dude wasn't my car I don't know what I would do
turn back I would like that's mad scary cuz like I feel like right now just
thinking about it I would have got scared and like made a turn and like ditch
the car that's when my cool identification would have been great
because if I would have got pulled over and I gave him that smile
anyway getting back into your music you have a new mixtape or what is the
fucks it called mixtape so can you explain the difference between like an
EP XP fucking yeah and extended play is an amount of minutes LP is a long play
extended play is um it's just the amount of it's pretty much the amount of tracks
pretty much self-explanatory extended play long play oh it's they both sound
like longer like long I don't know how fucking idiot do it it's no fucking
what is yours identified as mixtape mixtape mixtape mixtape mixtape free
album society free ideas free album absolutely nice dropping in two days
dropping on Wednesday to 19th on on that piff soundcloud hot new hip-hop iTunes
that's where it's gonna be the streets the streets the streets they're chirping
for the people like listening who don't really like fucking know who you are
what kind of music do you say you make cuz I don't really know how to explain it
that's that's a good question honestly yeah and I still like so this guy is an
idiot right so he makes it makes it like the songs that you made like the old
ones they're like fucking three or four years old I'm assuming right no stress
all the illness nights and young and dumb no stress and young and dumb I would
say could kind of fall in the same category all the other nights is like
completely different I don't know any that I heard one half of one song of
this new mixtape that you have and like I fuck with it it was like some hard
kind of in the club music type shit you know what I mean but is there like a
bunch of different shit on there or is it just like you know what is it yeah I
mean it has it has different sounds for sure it's not I don't I think that felt
good I tried categorizing it before I made it yeah so I made it this whole
concept type of mixtape right this one has a concept behind it but I kind of
let it take its own course right let it switch lanes a little bit and I think
the listener is really gonna fuck with that I think they're gonna they're gonna
see the growth in my music right away from track one and it takes its turn
that it goes from hyped up to little mellow and just like vibes and then it
goes back hyped and then yeah it's just society of free ideas the concept
behind it is that what it really means is you know everyone is so caught up on
their phones these days where everyone's looking down at their phones and it's
pretty much society is telling you what to think what to do how to hear things
how to how to move because you're trapped on your phone you're constantly
reading you're constantly reading everything that that the public is
putting out and people are retweeting and shit like that you know what I'm
what society free ideas means is that kind of like put your phone down and you
know just realize that we are in this society together and we all have these
free ideas that are beautiful if you put your mind right you don't have to fall
into this category that everyone tries to fucking be like these relatable
fucking exactly whatever you know and I think my music the entire mixtape
really plays a part in that right I'm kind of just telling my story through it
and it's a dope story I think it's not just because it's me it's really really
good music and I'm excited to be dropping it on the 19th so am I you
push us back like fucking four times a piece of shit yeah
like two years ago no no no it's like detox detox yeah you know the streets
are waiting yeah highly anticipated highly anticipated underrated and your
song on SoundCloud comeback season has like where's that now fucking 100,000
plays no I wish it did but it has like some crazy shit has us last time I
checked which was a little while ago honestly it was like it has 69,000 plays
yeah that's crazy bro dude let's go when you drop that I was like okay yeah
Johnny you got because you put out music it was so sporadic back then like there
was like yeah there was these these songs at first and then we shot videos for
them and then there was a long period and then you dropped like I remember you
dropped some song called draft a and then comeback season was like after that
and there was some space in between that too and then it's been a while so and
then now this new shit you know what I mean you can already see the progression
when like from from these songs to comeback season it's like a crazy step
to me and then this I'm just assuming is like you know a whole other level because
like honestly you know and the the reason why we're even talking about this like
to begin with is you know it's just the importance of like chasing your dreams
and just being consistent and just working on your craft for as long as you
forever yeah but because like I've had podcasts where I've you know for some
reason got into these modes where I'm giving these speeches about like how
anyone's capable of doing fucking anything you know what I mean and just
you know whatever and I'm sure you know like me my first video and I'm sure you
and your first song that you ever made well look we look back and I was like
wow that is hot garbage yeah that's fucking terrible you know what I mean like
you fucking hate it and it's just that you but you've doing you've been doing
it for so long that you're able to say that like if you put out one song and
then didn't work on it all and then four years later put out another song like
that old song is pretty good like you wouldn't even see the difference it's
about the little nuances it's about perfecting your craft I'm just you know
that yeah I mean just knowing everything about it exactly no matter what
because it's not like you're some big fucking touring rapper and like you're a
millionaire make it no but I'm saying like you know it's it's been what how
long since you made your first song my first song yeah like three years four
years for something like that okay so four years right four years and you're
not like some touring rapper fucking with selling out stadiums with chains and
you know I'm saying like all this much but it doesn't matter like it doesn't
you love this shit so much that you've been doing it every single day for this long
and you're like I don't give it like I'm still gonna do it you know I mean like
you know I feel a lot of artists and this is this is key for artists I feel like
everyone has that that time when they're like yo what should I do yeah should I
keep on going or should I stop and I went through it so did I because I wasn't no
big touring rapper you know I mean and I know you went through it too it comes
a point where you gotta look at yourself in the mirror and say am I gonna go for
this full speed or am I gonna just stop and try and pursue something else and
for those artists and those entertainers and those people who say I'm gonna go
full speed nothing is stopping you yeah nothing but yourself right you know
you're capable of anything and I know it sounds cliche but it's the truth yeah
you know it could take you know it could take I mean it happens to people where
they the first video they put out goes viral and they're just like kind of
chilling yeah if they're good you know but you know it takes time it took me four
or five years to get where I want it to be you know what I mean like it was a very
slow ascent is that right where I was flying whatever but it was it took like
four or five years to get to want to go and I was just doing these videos every
single week and like you know I made it I tell people this too like make it your
identity so that when people hear your name they already associate that with
something absolutely like I never wanted to be someone that you could say my name
and you can't associate something it's just like some fucking guy I don't know
you know like I didn't I didn't want to be like that and not that I wanted like
oh this famous no I didn't want to not saying that I'm saying like that's you
know like when I say your name Johnny Petrop I'm like yeah like if you say I
said anyone the bug is a rapper you know I mean like yeah not just yeah I don't
know what he's doing he's fucking yeah it's just Johnny from the neighborhood
you know yeah there's a bunch of people from from our neighborhood that their
names there's nothing really attached to it because they didn't they're not chasing
anything yeah they're just complacent and they're cool with being stagnant and
just you know whatever but like having something attached to your name I think
is is key for sure like for anybody it doesn't matter what it is like it could
be anything it doesn't have to be this big fucking thing but even if it's like
you're a blogger or like you make jewelry or you know you're just whatever
it's passion a fact yeah just anything that you're passionate about like nothing
that you're just kind of just doing just to do goes a long way yeah something that
you're fucking really passionate about it's important to do that it really is
talk about this all the time and it's funny it's funny now that like now like we're
recording in this place like this room yo honestly I don't know how long I've been
here since June but even in March April I'll say April May June so two months before in April of
last year right of this year I'm sorry April of this year I was like yo I need to get like
a space to where I could just create shit and whatever and like at the time I just thought
it was kind of like outrageous sort of you know what I mean just kind of like that you know it's
kind of it's a crazy leap you know what I mean because like I lived at home for so long and just
to it's amazing man just to do I you know it's really crazy and then two months I did it you
know because I was like fuck it let's just let's just do it it's really like if you're scared of
heights and you're standing on top of a like a cliff or whatever and you just jump off into the
water just scared you're like all right fuck it you just go it's the same thing it's like if you
just take the leap absolutely things will it will be fine you just got to take the necessary
necessary steps you know and be consistent for years consistency is key you know I want to I just
want to say something to the listeners who turn tune into you all the time and see you in different
venues and shit you know I've known Joe for what now six years seven years something something around
that probably right not including when we probably bumped each other and Louis Armstrong wanted to
fight each other still to my sneakers yo bro my white T but yeah I mean Joe is exactly who he is
on air every day and people need to I just want people to know how much of a selfless human being
you are you know you've helped me in so many different ways you help out your friends in so
many different ways you help your family in so many different ways and that goes a long way
you know people don't see that you know they see you as Joe Senagato which how you are how you are
to the public but knowing you for as long as I've known you it's really just it's beautiful to see
you are probably the most selfless human I know and you know fucking I love you bro yeah that's it
dude you're supposed to kiss her under the table bro oh my god for real though man it's it's it's a
great thing so I wish you nothing but the best and this is this is awesome what you have here no this
place is sick and like it's it's like if people saw it like the way that I talk about it because
whenever I someone asks me about it and the way I talk about it you would think that this place is
like a four-story fucking like just what it's like yeah it's a two bedroom apartment shout out to Joey
Harrington there's Joey Harrington jersey on the wall like got a helicopter pad on the roof but it's
just so cool like when your visions come to fruition absolutely you know what I mean just just to see
them happen is like great like even something as small as I was just telling the veteran the
VM dudes I was telling like at the end of the videos that we do online there's just like a card
where it has like our faces and like our picks for that week for the games
and like I saw that the first day we started veterans minimum you know what I mean I'm like
one day we're gonna roll out video because like that's what I do when I have an idea I just like
I go like day one if I have an idea I'm like I'm already into like you know 20 years down the line
like what is the ultimate goal because I think that vision I what that's what it's about vision man
I'm 100% you have to be able to see it first oh you gotta believe it you gotta see it you can't
have an attitude where you're like I just want this first like no dude like go big and I ask
people that all the time like what's your ultimate goal and I'm like getting it like now I know I'm
getting through to like the dudes on veterans minimum because you know I use that as an example
all the time because that I like grow by itself I didn't like push it in videos or whatever I'm
starting to now but I didn't do that because I wanted people to be good at it I wanted them to
care about it I don't want them to get like oh Joey was just promotably fine blah blah blah
but now I can see like I'm getting through to to them and and and they see like they start opening
their mind they can see end visions like oh we can do this yeah you know what I mean like look how
far we came in a year you know what I mean it's like you can do anything I was gonna say from
someone looking from the outside in on veterans minimum you guys have grown tremendously from
your first podcast yeah I remember I was actually on one of the podcasts what yeah it was something
about the jets or something and you know just from from then because I think it was like fourth
week in to veterans minimum yeah and from then to now just even how you guys go about your your
pre-show yeah you know I mean like just a little nuances yeah affecting the craft really really
goes a long way and you could see it within your guys videos soundcloud like you guys are dope
no but it's just like and again I like I I never talk about myself unless I'm talking about this
because I the only examples I can give are like personal experiences absolutely but it's like if
you just do something you know even if it's once a week because the veterans minimum is once a week
you know I mean so if you just do something once a week like eventually and you care about it
you just got to find something you care about like we all cared about sports but this is like a whole
different uh responsibility and level of you know just level of responsibility it's like you have to
be on your shit because people are listening fuck up you look like an asshole yeah you know what I
mean so it's like you have to be on your shit and it's just like you know it really goes a long
way if you just work at something you know what I mean it's eventually it pays off it's only a
matter of time yeah I try I try to tell people about time and like like I said going back before
you have to be able to see the the end result so whenever someone I know has an idea I'm always
like what's your like one biggest goal you know what I mean like I don't want to hear about I want
to try and get this you know maybe like you know 10 000 people it's like dude fuck 10 000 people
what is the biggest goal like do you see yourself on a stage with a million people in the crowd you
know what I mean like oh yeah what is the end result like you know what I mean like what is the
end result like and you you can't lose that because if you're not chasing that you're you're chasing
a small goal those will come like my my mom and whoever like whenever something cool happens for
me like I'm very appreciative and like obviously grateful but I'm not I will never drink the
kool-aid on that like people always like oh you probably think that you're the shit now because
you have this or that and I'm like I'm really not because I saw that so it's like when it happens
I'm like yeah this is just me that it's like whatever I'm I'm not I'm not working for that though
yeah I'm saying I'm not working to be verified or working for 500 000 whatever like followers or
some shit or any amount of number followers like I'm not working towards that the end result is
way bigger than that you know what I mean it's absolutely like and that's what you need like
if you're ever gonna chase a side project or whatever like you have to have that it's a journey
yeah it's a journey man like how where do you see yourself in 10 years you know and people
a lot of people at least like that I not that I know but like a lot of people just they see
themselves in 10 years like in the same spot that they're at now and break out of that mold
you know yeah go do something the classic answer is like what do you see yourself in 10 years
oh I will you know hopefully have some kids a wife and kids and settle down just like yeah but
for you what about you yeah like what are you gonna do for yourself you know your wife and
kids are cool I hope that shit happens you know I'm saying little Charlie out here but you know
like what are you gonna be like I got a dog now you know hey no but uh yeah you know you can't
leave yourself out of the equation you know I mean you have to work something for you as well as
your family like you know all the money that I'm stashing now I you know it's for like my family
you know what I mean and the you know not just my future family but the family that I have now
like I don't need any money you know what I mean like I don't need anything I don't have any like
I dress like an asshole most of the time that's true guys but you know man does not tell a lie
no I just you know basketball shorts like almost every day if I could wear shorts I'm wearing
basketball shorts 80 degrees 80 degrees today I know what the fuck's going on but yeah man
you have to when someone asks you that question you really got to remember I don't know if you
remember this but I remember this we were playing basketball one night it was just me and you we're
just shooting around no one on one nothing crazy we're just shooting around talking we were actually
own I forget what park we're at I think it's probably a wall bounce no it wasn't wall bounce
48th no it's the one on Steinway Steinway Park I don't yeah Steinway Park yeah so we're there
and we're just bumping Mack Miller's not blue side park on best day ever that was my shit yeah
you know that helped me a lot that mixtape me too you know when people like I never like believe
people say all this help me whatever but that mixtape I used to walk like in the middle of the
street and listen to it and I don't know why I think it was because so it was just so relatable
at the moment yeah everywhere where he was and just it was kind of like he was speaking to us
right you know I mean yeah yeah but we were just shooting around and bumping that and you know
we're both 18 19 year old dropouts and everyone was away at college was away at college and we're
just like yo like are we about to be these kids in this neighborhood yeah and you were talking
about dropping a mixtape actually was I yeah you were you got bars bro yeah you know it's funny
like uh that was that was the original thing at first I was like yo about to do rap but it's
like you know when you're young and I feel like everyone wanted to be a rapper at one point you
were like I want to rap and I was like I want to start this youtube channel Sanagato TV
no but I don't remember that actually but it was I was just reminiscing about it because we were
just like both 19 18 just like you know not following the conventional route of college yeah
and just you know taking our own steps out of comfort and seeing what we're about and I wouldn't
have done it any other way yeah man it's just it's dope to to see and like I'm like like yo I'm
super proud of you for just sticking with it for this long and just like getting better and like
because you know that's to me that's the only thing worth living for absolutely is to be
is to get better at some just something every day you know what I mean not just like let your
talents go to waste not just like not try to you know give something to the world like just
just to like live and just be like yo you have to be able to work on something for yourself and
you know I'm gonna drop this mixtape and you know I'm excited for people to hear it and they're
gonna listen to it and they could have their own judgments on it you know I'm saying but
I put it together this was me exactly you know I'm saying like I'm gonna give this to the world
right and there's nothing deeper than that no there's not you know I'm saying like people
there's gonna be even if they hate it it's like you heard it yeah it's like I fuck with it you know
what I'm saying I made this shit I'm down yeah yeah that's the perfect fucking attitude because a
lot of people who either they're just starting or maybe they just what are still making music whatever
when they put something out it's like when people put an instagram picture and it doesn't get enough
they take it down they take it down it's like dude why do you care who cares about these and I
have done that before where I swear to god I've put enough of yourself I mean this was years ago
bro but I've put up a picture and it didn't get as much likes as I was like normally getting
so I just took it down took it down got and now looking back on that I'm like how crazy is that
like think about that yeah like I care so much that not enough people like this that I need to
take it down I'm not gonna lie I've done that too like yo fuck that like it's great when you think
about it it's really crazy that you do that yeah and it's like honestly now I could really care less
couldn't care less I'm sorry I always get that expression you know also when I go on to these
people's instagrams and it's just pictures of themselves it's like yo what the fuck show me
like a tree or something like live a little bit yo you're not the only person on this planet
it's all on their snapchat bro everything it's crazy these girls are like dimes but like where's
your personality at let me see a tree let me see a tree let me see a tree yo trees go a long way I
think also I think that once you start you know these things go hand in hand for me like people
you know how people say like oh I don't care what people think whatever me I'm like
complete opposite I'm like what do you mean like of course I care what people think I don't want to
be an asshole to like I don't you know what I mean I don't care about people's opinion of my you
know whatever I make or anything like that you know what I mean like I make it and that's what
makes me feel good I could make things and create things if I couldn't do that I would kill myself
I really would kill myself but like I if I can't make things like I don't know who I am you know
what I mean so the fact that I'm just be able to make things you can love or hate it like you said
before like that doesn't bother me like but my people's opinion of me of course I can absolutely
you know what I mean like I want to be a good person I want to be likable why would I want to
be hated like I don't understand people like high hate like dude you're obviously upset you know
what I hate Joe yeah when people say no new friends like this whole movement in rap culture
and like just culture in general like taking a selfie no new friends suck a dick son I want to
get smaller this year shut the fuck up I'm the friendliest person in ever you know I'm like
yo just make a new friend it goes a long way people will look cool stop with your fucking
hating of everyone you're not that like what are you doing like and it's I think it's really like
I've been blessed honestly because like I talk about my group of friends there's a huge group of friends
and they're all so diverse Miffa you know what I mean it's Miffa here Miffa so it's so it's so
diverse so it's like and we just keep you know there's adding people like whatever you know what
I'm saying like if you meet someone who's cool man that's it don't just do it don't be so close
minded narrow minded just open up bro just open up man it goes and you never know who you're gonna
meet or you know I'm saying you never know who's who you know it could be your next like dude I
know it's just the internet culture is is super corny honestly like the internet will teach you that
if someone's your ex you're supposed to hate him if you're a girl you're supposed to be crazy
and like check your boyfriend's phone it's like they put up all these memes and like shit like
that like jokes and it's just like this is the weirdest thing it's crazy I saw my ex the other day
at a bar and I said what up and she just straight up was like oh hey bye and I was like yo don't
act like we used to love each other yeah like don't act like we weren't huge parts of each other's
lives for a year yeah I've never been like that like all if I ever if I saw one of my exes out
like I was excited to see her I was like you know what up how are you yeah like I'm gonna fuck you
relax yeah I'm just trying to say hi I'm gonna say what up man oh my god see I'm I'm totally
different like even like randomly like if one of my exes texted me it was just had a conversation
it would be totally like it's like nothing ever stopped right it's like like if like you like we
don't talk all the fucking time but if you hit me up I'd be like what's good what up no exactly and
I don't get like internet culture they have this thing where it's like you're supposed to hate your
ex you're supposed to be crazy if you're a chick if you're a dude you're supposed to have side chicks
if you're you don't mean like there's just rules and like these things that people need to fall into
it's just like I don't love your lady man don't you know it's that one lady it's just weird bro and
it all trickles down to the children save the children save the children piece on earth oh my
god 20 24 20 20 20 20 24 the fuck shit I don't know bro I'm running for president 24th of October
I wanted to say something before and I kind of forgot but I was gonna say it goes hand in hand
back to getting with like you don't care what people think whatever but it goes hand in hand like
you you have a certain attitude about you when you are chasing your dreams and not letting
anything stop you and like you can you just want to progress now it doesn't matter about how much
it's just as long as there's a progression every single day every single year whatever it is
there that changes you it turns you into a certain person I feel like you're happier you care you
care less about things that don't necessarily matter and you're able to differentiate like what
matters and what doesn't when you're chasing something like that because when you are chasing
something like this like anything really a dream you're just I don't know you're just you know
you're so focused and you're able to block out everything that doesn't you suddenly realize
what life is about yeah and that is you know personal happiness and that's all that's all
you really gotta care about to me like and a lot of people's personal happiness is making other
people happy and that's why there some people are the way they are like mother Teresa and
fucking all these nice people I'm doing the cross right now but Joe just blessed you have to yeah
you have to you have to bless you have to bless hear me you have to fulfill your own happiness
and like when once you find what makes you happy eventually that pours out to other people
because I personally think my personal belief is that in everyone they just want to make either
you know just the people around them or anyone in general they want to make other humans happy
you have a glow about you when you're happy you know I'm saying you could see the people who are
happy yeah you can see it in their eyes they're demeanor and and recently what happened one of
my friends Lucas he he like years ago he made like these shirts and tank tops and it was called
blip star all right and the other day he hits me up and he comes over and he tells me he's like
he's like yeah man I just went out and uh I bought a heat press and a sewing machine wow these are
really expensive things right and this kid's not like he's not you know a designer or like some crazy
like you know whatever he he's good at what he does but I'm saying like he doesn't have this
crazy amount of money to put into this yeah but he took a chance and you know when he was telling me
this I was so excited and happy for this kid because I'm like yo he's on his way you know what I mean
because once you take a step like that like you don't take a step like that if you don't have the
mentality where are you putting that you know I'm not gonna use it where you put it exactly it's
like yo if you you invest and you and you believe in yourself you'll invest that money and he did
and yo it's only a matter of time before that kid's successful like anyone who does shit like that
it's only a matter of time and and it's also good even if you're not pressing your own shit
you know I'm saying yeah have people come through press the things charge them some cash
then that gives you the cash to make your own shit he's already think yo and he was speaking to me
and saying I'm about to hit him up yeah exactly I was I was he was talking to me we're having a
conversation and and the things that he was saying is stuff that I've said to people so I'm saying
like that's why I have this theory of if you chase your dreams you you you just have a certain
mentality about it you know what I mean it changes your whole outlook on everything it's crazy what
it does to your quality of life when you're chasing something absolutely and anything it doesn't
matter what it is I'm not telling you like you know have these look whatever but it's just it
changes you and and the fact that he was just saying things that I was saying to other people
about like my theories my beliefs whatever it was just validation for me to be like you know what
I'm not crazy it's like it really can happen and and this kid's not special I'm not special
you're not special the only difference between us and other people is that we are doing it yeah
and that is it yeah exactly only we're actually going out there yeah and it's like you were going
out there we're failing for a very long time so many times dumping money into things and just many
times and just you know but we care we care we want to get better we want to and we want it you know
what I think is key as well just putting yourself in check when you find yourself fucking up and
you fall into a routine of fucking up and being like yo you need to stop fucking up yeah put yourself
in check and that goes a long way as well do you it's funny you say that because on the last podcast
where I was doing this I was saying like you got to keep it all the way real with yourself for 100
yeah 100 but I yeah like I tell people like yo I am so real with myself like I know when something
sucks I know when it's good and if I need something that's good or I need to get out of a funk like
I know what I'm able to do it like I'm not I'm so on top of that like every day I wake up and I make
sure like you know obviously I'm shitty like for something like I I go on slides for two months
where I suck you know what I mean but you gotta you gotta just get back on and being real stuff like
you know that last two months blue let's get better let's get back and that's it that that recently
happened to me too had you know just fine tune your shit yeah you know I'm saying I like kind of
when I when I was in the booth I it just started happening out of nowhere like I lose not that I
can't just hold it I just lose my breath and I just remembered to myself like yo you gotta take
your breaths here it's kind of like just fine tuning your own shit mm-hmm like three three sessions
I was I fucking sucked and I don't know why I was like what the fuck love and then I was like oh yeah
because you're not doing this jackass and then I got in and I spit fucking my shit and I and I
went in you know I'm saying you just you know and don't don't take I think don't be so hard on yourself
you know I'm saying people fuck up people people really mess up sometimes and you know you just
gotta be able to get through it and get by it yeah it's all about being like super comfortable
yourself because like me like I know I don't have it in my heart to fuck up too bad you know what I
mean yeah do some crazy but you know if something like the only example I could think of right now
is like when when someone gets cheated on mm-hmm some people's immediate thoughts are like
was it me I would never have that thought immediate thought like there'd be like take back your
sunglasses no but some people have the thought like oh like they start to they put it on them
like was it me did what did I do whatever you know I mean like was I not good enough not good and
like not good you're fucking boys but yo I would never have that thought because I'm like so completely
comfortable with myself and like knowing where I stand with you know everyone that I meet and
just you know whatever yeah it's like you can't you can't like that's so sad to me that people would
think that you know I mean like what did that what did I do what was you know I mean that's not
your fault yeah it's not it's not you at all it's the other person yeah they're fucked up yeah you
gotta I mean once most people get those cut I'm that's why I've been preaching so so often because
preach Joe you know what this is my way of being extremely thankful because I I just I want people
to succeed I love seeing it and I love them being creative and shit and like I talked about last
podcast nick who was probably the most uncreative person I've ever met in my entire life literally
has never seen like any never seen the Wizard of Oz like he's just garbage right well time out time
out yeah exactly has never seen the wizard of this piece of shit right so this kid's the most
uncreative person in the world but we started veterans minimum a year ago and here we are
a year from then we're doing video now and this kid's hitting me up all the times with
great ideas for videos for podcast segments and winning a shit ton of money on degeneration
bets he started his own podcast with that he's getting better at hosting and stuff and this is
a kid that I can't picture being a public speaker like you know what I mean he's not that kind of
he's not like a super crazy outgoing person like I mean he's an outgoing kid but like you know what
I mean like he's not his own person yeah there's only one way to describe nick is he's just nick
right you know what I'm saying he's nick right and it's just like you know once once you're you get
that you you use your that part of your brain the creative part it's like you just unlock all the
doors and see how creative you are and how what you're able yeah what you're capable of and that's
why I just preach all the time all the shit like especially at the end of podcasts now I've been
preaching like crazy because I want people to succeed and I want them to make cool shit
and like it's just awesome I'm gonna text nick after this and say watch the wizard of us
you fucking son of a bitch what are you doing yo and he saw the sandlot like I want to say five
years ago I'm like yo how do you go 20 years without seeing that yeah piece of shit where's
your childhood at yeah it's because you know he's garbage but whatever uh we're gonna wrap it up here
if we went over an hour look at that for real killed it feels like it's like 15 minutes I know
