When 60 Minutes premiered in September 1968, there was nothing like it.
This is 60 Minutes. It's a kind of a magazine for television.
Very few have been given access to the treasures in our archives.
But that's all about to change.
Like none of this stuff gets looked at. That's what's incredible.
I'm Seth Done of CBS News. Listen to 60 Minutes, a second look on Apple podcasts starting September 17.
Critical race theory. Critical race theory. Critical race theory. Critical race theory.
Critical race theory. It's made conservative so mad they've temporarily forgotten about
Ilhan Omar. But watching people get all worked up about an obscure graduate-level theory of the American
legal system, one can't help but wonder, does literally anyone on the right actually
know what critical race theory is?
That's this week.
On Unsolved Mysteries, Macca Edition. In the 1970s, legal scholars began to examine the influence of institutional racism
on the nation's laws.
They called this movement critical race theory, or CRT. Who's down with CRT? Not the GOP. And yet
the more conservatives talk about CRT, the more you start to wonder. Does anyone
even Wikipedia this thing? Critical race theory is a religion of secularism and guilt.
Critical race theory is the denial of critical thinking.
Critical race theory is a device designed to capture white guilt.
It's about working to change and overthrow infrastructure.
An ideology that threatens to overturn the advances of human civilization over the last 500 years.
As conservatives what CRT is, and they'll say it's a theory, a religion, a device, and an ideology.
This thing's got more unnecessary features jammed into it than Microsoft Word.
But while conservatives may not know exactly what CRT is, they definitely know what it does.
Critical race theory is basically teaching people to hate our country, hate each other.
Critical race theory is supporting all these anti-christ indoctrinations of our children.
Critical race theory.
What does that do to a black boy?
Black and white kid?
Whose mother is a white and whose father,
whose mother is black and his father is white?
Does it reinforce the edible notion all kids have wanting to kill their father and marry their mother. I mean, what is this due to the children?
Next week on unsolved mysteries.
Is that dude trying to smash his mama?
We're not getting any closer to solving this mystery.
Basically, the only thing we know about critical race theory is that it has something to do with race, or does it?
It's not even about race.
It's not even the race race race race race race existing society, using race, using gender, using the climate,
using immigration.
Critical race theory isn't even about race?
Is it a theory?
Is it critical?
Is it real at all?
Is it possible critical race theory is a mass hallucination we're all having the result of 15 months
spent locked in our apartments and spraying windex on all of our groceries?
Nobody knows.
That's all for now.
If you see an actual definition of critical race theory in the wild, please contact your local Republican.
They seem confused.
Talking about edipus and shit. Damn Marxism. Something wrong with that water down
in Florida man. Speaking of water I got to get off this dog.
