Welcome to the Daily Stoic. For each day we read a short passage designed to help you cultivate the
strength, insight, wisdom necessary for living good life.
Each one of these passages is based on the 2000-year-old philosophy
that has guided some of history's greatest men and women.

You will not be made whole.
There have been real losses over the last few months, and more lay ahead.
People you know may die, businesses will close, clients disappeared. Years of gains have evaporated from the market.
This was not your fault.
You work hard.
You pay your taxes and your insurance premiums.
You follow the law.
So you're good, right?
That's what many people seem to think.
It's a natural reaction, especially when you hear the promises of politicians.
Checks are coming in the mail.
They say we've passed a bailout.
Hang tight.
We're coming to help.
The stoic knows not to count on any of this, not just because a stoic tries
to be self reliant, but because a stoic is realistic.
Fortune is the most powerful force on earth.
She acts as she pleases.
Seneca says and she cares little for our plans or notions of what is fair.
There is no government or insurance company rich enough or powerful enough to counteract this.
There is not some bubble you can get inside or body armor you can put on that can possibly
prevent you from ever having to experience loss and pain. No, these are the facts of life.
Remember epictetus and Marcus, instead of sitting around,
remember epictetus and Marcus are really us.
Instead of sitting around hoping for someone to fix this for you,
make it right, try to find a way to come to terms with what has happened.
Instead of expecting someone to come and relieve you,
try to be the source of your own relief.
Focus on the good you still have.
Focus on the good you can still do. That's all we got.
That's the only way we'll ever be home again. Hey there, if you're wondering how to get the most
out of this time, you have stuck at home. Maybe you're working only part time or you're working from
home. You've got a child care situation. None of this is what we would choose,
but the stoic say we don't choose what happens,
we choose how we respond.
And so that's why we put together what we're calling
the daily stoic a live time challenge.
It's 14 days of inspired stoic wisdom
that will help you get the most out of this moment,
that will help you seize this moment,
rise to the occasion.
We're gonna challenge you, it's not gonna be easy,
but I think you will emerge from it better.
And that will be some small good that's come out of this experience.
So you can check that out right now at dailystoic.com slash a lifetime.

Is this thing all?

Hey, y'all.
I'm Kiki Palmer.
I'm an actress, a singer, an entrepreneur, and a Virgo.
Just the name of you.
Now, I've held so many occupations over an entrepreneur, and a Virgo, just the name of you.
Now I've held so many occupations over the years that my fans lovingly nicknamed me Kiki
Keep a Bag Palmer.
And trust me, I keep a Bag Love.
But if you ask me, I'm just getting started, and there's so much I still want to do.
So I decided I want to be a podcast host.
I'm proud to introduce you to the Baby This is Kiki Palmer podcast.
I'm putting my friends, family, and some of the dopest experts in the hot seat
to ask them the questions that have been burning in my mind.
What will former child stars be if they weren't actors?
What happened to sitcoms?
It's only fans, only bad.
I want to know.
So I asked my mom about it.
These are the questions that keep me up at night.
But I'm taking these questions out of my head and I'm bringing them to you.
Because on Baby This Is Kiki Palmer, no topic is off limits.
Follow Baby This Is Kiki Palmer, whatever you get your podcasts.
