Kay hasn't heard from her sister in seven years.
I have a proposal for you.
Come up here and document my project.
All you need to do is record everything like you always do.
What was that?
That was live audio of a woman's nightmare.
Can Kay trust her sister or is history repeating itself?
There's nothing dangerous about what you're doing.
They're just dreams.

Hello, the Internet, and welcome to this episode of the Chairtrend of the Oversight Committee.
Ah, yes, yes. I'm here to see you. Johnny Davis. I'm Jack O'Brien. That's Miles Gray.
Yeah. Hey, man. Hey, man. Hey, dude.
Are you excited for that old round ball to pick back up?
Woo!
Baby.
Say it to honor old Dr. James Nace.
I have it on.
I have the TV on just in preparation for it.
Just to warm the TV up.
Got to get the TV warmed up, too.
Literally, I haven't watched cable since the pandemic started,
so I had to make sure that I knew which knew that the cable was working.
Well,
cause you've just been straight streaming.
Yeah.
Just streaming.
So I don't,
there's nothing on,
on cable that I need other than sports.
So yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Let's tell the people what's trending.
Shall we?
Yeah.
Earthquake is is trending not the comedian
the geological phenomenon there was an earthquake in los angeles yeah that i'd have the whole
internet talking and low like locals like for me and my friends who like we slept through the night
like the north ridge nightmare in 93 94 yeah i only woke up
because my my my mother was screaming to like drag me out of the bed and then like wouldn't let me go
to the bathroom because we were too shook by aftershock so i just had to pee my pants under
the bed or under the dining table really yeah i was like yo let me go to the bathroom like no it's
not safe i'm like then i'm gonna pee right bathroom. They're like, no, it's not safe. I'm like, then I'm going to pee right now.
And they're like, go ahead.
Did stuff fall off your walls and stuff?
Yeah, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Shit broke.
Plates fell out the fucking cabinet and shit.
It was wild.
And then I remember I said to my boy, Nick, who you met,
Handsome Nick, who's been through the oftenest.
Yo, he almost got killed by a bookcase when we were kids in the 94 earthquake.
Like, he almost got straight crushed
but by the grace of god he was like like slept in a different position where he was not gonna
get smushed by like this like oak book he's like sleeping at the bottom of his bed or whatever
and i guess we should stop storing all our knives in my two-year-old's room yeah that knife mobile
that you have over the bed is a little i mean it's funny but like it is not
not safe and the little shit loves it i mean it's crazy for it especially loves the ones that have
a rust all on the tips man he thinks it's hilarious he calls it snow when it rains down on him but it
does seem like there's a lot of activity happening this year of late on the old san andreas so i will uh just all across
earth yeah yeah the cascadia gotta watch out for that i was up further north in california on
like a cliff and just thinking about that old cascadia which is like the big um happens once every hundred years but it's
apparently about to go off the cascadia subduction zone the subduction yeah uh yeah that's that'll be
a big one lakers are trending don't know why no los angeles lakers couldn't imagine that round
ball coming yeah they're playing the Clippers.
I don't know why the Clippers aren't trending.
I think because, you know, like Patrick Beverly and Lou's out,
so there's a lot of, I think there's more excitement about what the Lakers
could do than what the Clippers can do right now.
I think just from people's chatter, you know.
Yeah.
But Lou had to get those wings.
He went to Magic City, right, to get wings?
Is Magic City, I thought Magic City was a strip club yeah it is oh he went to a strip club to get wings yeah is that what he said yo the wings they're legendary they just have the best
wings and oh and i was reading something and i don't know if it's true but um the he actually
has wings named after him on that menu in there yeah for like the lemon pepper or i don't know if it's true, but he actually has wings named after him on that menu in there.
Yeah.
For like the lemon pepper.
Or I don't know if it's his lemon pepper, but there was like there was some talk.
It's like, well, you know, I mean, like he went in town.
You know, you got to stop by.
So classic.
Yeah.
I mean, we are.
On the other hand, it seems like the whole league is back and doing this because lebron wants
wants another championship so yeah it makes sense that the lakers would be
trending a little bit more yeah it'll be interesting it's uh yeah to have it like
restart like this and have these like seeding games and then go into like a postseason is really
odd but you know whatever like everything's a fucking a movie
on an airplane now so i'm just like whatever comes i'm like yeah great whatever this is sure sure
this is sports this is the season yep uh that's a good way to put it everything is a movie on an
airplane yeah um palm springs best movie i've ever seen yeah one of the greatest films of all time
uh john lewis is trending uh his funeral has been happening all day today, throughout the day.
Yeah.
Had some eulogies from George W. Bush.
Your Bill Clintons.
Your Baracks Obama.
The Bill Clinton one was very questionable he was like john lewis was
you know didn't he like paint him as like the reasonable alternative yeah like stokely car
michael and people like uh it's like thank god uh stokely didn't win out on that one's like okay
please go away dude like you've got a got a ton of question marks over your head so like please
please vacate the building
but I know like
Jennifer Holliday who's saying apparently that
clip was going off so I have a
feeling she quite literally
said hi welcome to church
yes
like most of the trending things
are related to
the John Lewis funeral
like Jennifer she's trending.
Obama's trending, obviously.
Obama kind of came for Trump a little bit, was pretty critical,
never saying his name but talking about how we got the federal government
using tear gas on protesters. Huh. And, you know, talking about how we need to use the, or strengthen the Voting Rights Act, which we do.
Interesting that came on the day that.
The fucking bare minimum.
Interesting that came on the day that Trump announced that he wants to delay the election.
But, yeah, turns out we still need that shit.
And finally, Inglewood is trending,
possibly just around us,
but we're what matters.
Yeah.
We'll talk about that.
Well, I mean, I think it's a tale
of violent gentrification in the city of Los Angeles.
Inglewood, you know,
they're clearing out the part of the city
to build a new stadium for the
rams because of the fucking evil piece of shit stan kronke does what he does best is getting the
city to give him a lot of money to build a stadium and then he can do whatever the fuck he wants
after but i think just when you consider the state of this city especially the city of inglewood
and the needs of that city to just plop down this fucking grotesque stadium the reason it
got trending is because they filled the lake there's an artificial fucking lake around this
thing and just the site of it is just sort of like in the middle of this city that has
the pot the roads are awful like awful like people have to fix them themselves uh the schools need
support but yet again let's just dump this thing in there and then begin building sort of, you know, unaffordable housing for for the people that live in the area.
So, yeah, I think it was half like people were depending on what part of L.A. Twitter you were on.
It was like people who would be like, whoa, the stadium looks pretty cool. Other people were just aghast at just sort of like this thing i think when also too with construction when you're not
driving it's easy to lose track of the progress of things that are being built when you don't
have like that usual like drive right because there's shit that's gone up in the city i was
like what the fuck happened to this part of town and i'm like that's right i've been here four
months and in that time uh kind of the reverse of that jack in the box uh by our office was
gone down gone whoa um also amoeba records moved right it's a whole new world a whole new world
without jack in box um yeah they it is interesting there's i just have a lot of cronky hate too because he also
owns a majority of arsenal so yeah i was like that's a little that's pretty strong anyone who's
in anyone any sport fan whose paths have crossed with staying cronky it only leaves a trail of
angry pissed off people uh and sit like st louis rams fans i feel i honestly feel y'all i really do
uh because he really played the fucking city um but yeah it was neck and neck between uh what we
need uh food for the you know thousands and thousands of people who are going hungry or
an artificial lake in inglewood uh those are the top two uh priorities that just feels like a moat to be
honest you know what i mean like when you look at it you're like i don't know this just feels like a
anti-working class people water body of water like protect the main building but yeah it's just
really yeah it's something about the lake though that feels just so aggressively artificial and like fuck you um that yes i think
that's really what it's that it's the sight of it that really makes people kind of pissed off
understandable uh all right guys that is what's trending this afternoon uh that's gonna do it
for today we'll be back tomorrow with a whole ass episode of our podcast. Until then,
be kind to yourselves, be kind to
each other, wash your hands, stay
inside, wear a mask, and don't do nothing
about white supremacy. We
will talk to y'all tomorrow. Bye.
Later.
I've been thinking about you.
I want you back in my life. It's too late for that. I have a thinking about you. I want you back in my life.
It's too late for that.
I have a proposal for you.

She's terrified.
Should we wake her up?
Absolutely not.
What was that?
You didn't figure it out?
I think I need to hear you say it.
That was live audio of a woman's nightmare.
This machine is approved and everything?
You're allowed to be doing this?
We passed the review board a year ago.
We're not hurting people.

How do you feel about biscuits?
Hi, I'm Akilah Hughes, and I'm so excited about my new podcast, Rebel Spirit,
where I head back to my hometown in Kentucky and try to convince my high school to change their racist mascot,
the Rebels, into something everyone in the South loves, the biscuits.
I was a lady rebel. Like, what does that even mean?
The Boone County Rebels will stay the Boone County Rebels with the image of the biscuits.
It's right here in black and white in print.
A lion.
An individual that came to the school saying that God sent him to talk to me about the mascot switch.
As a leader, you choose hills that you want to die on.
Why would we want to be the losing team?
I'd just take all the other stuff out of it.
On the segregation academies, when the civil rights said that we need to integrate public schools,
these charter schools were exempt from that.
Bigger than a flag or mascot.
You have to be ready for serious backlash.

Do you ever wonder where your favorite foods come from?
Like what's the history behind bacon-wrapped hot dogs?
Hi, I'm Eva Longoria.
Hi, I'm Maite Gomez-Rejon.
Our podcast, Hungry for History, is back.
Season two. Season two.
Are we recording? Are we good?
Oh, we push record, right?
And this season, we're taking an even bigger bite
out of the most delicious food and its history.
Saying that the most popular cocktail is the margarita,
followed by the mojito from Cuba,
and the piƱa colada from Puerto Rico.
So all of these...
We have, we think, Latin culture.
There's a mention of blood sausage in Homer's Odyssey
that dates back to the 9th century B.C.
B.C.?
I didn't realize how old the hot dog was.
