What was that?
That was live audio of a woman's nightmare.
Can Kay trust her sister or is history repeating itself?

Hello, the internet, and welcome to this very special episode of the Daily Zeitgeist 2 Electric Trendaloo.
I'm Jack O'Brien. That is Miles Gray.
We're going to save that rec center.
What is trending? Carol tell you what is trending.
Carol Baskin is trending.
She is Joe Exotic's enemy.
From Tiger King.
Tiger King. No friend.
Yeah.
So Tiger King is about people who collect exotic animals.
She is all about freeing a big cat.
She's the head of something called Big Cat Rescue,
except she frees them and puts them directly into her zoo.
But it's a rescue.
It's a rescue, though.
But I call it rescue.
It's all contextual.
You know what I mean?
Yeah, it's very...
She's got a good racket going.
She constantly wears flower crowns,
like going back decades and decades uh she's just
always wearing a crown which is kind of dope i mean she's the that's her that's her place in the
you know hierarchy of the nobility of big cat breeding and collecting or rescuing whatever
term you want to use for that but the, the reason why it's trending is because already there is a limited series
being announced that will go,
like with real life human beings
portraying these people,
but with Kate McKinnon.
Not an animated series?
No, Kate McKinnon is set to play Carol Baskin,
which I can only,
I already am laughing at the mere thought of that.
It's really the other people
involved in it that I'm curious
who they're going to cast for that
like you know is it McConaughey
does he find his way into this
somehow does Billy Bob Thornton
find his way into it
Baghdad
the dude who rides around on an elephant
everywhere
oh shit yeah
he might be the junciest role yeah The dude who rides around on an elephant everywhere. Oh, shit. Yeah.
Bhagavan.
He might be the juiciest role.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I think Seth Rogen could probably take him. Probably.
Yeah.
Tiger King.
The Tiger King.
Joe Exotic is probably the juiciest role, if we're going to be honest.
Yeah.
I mean, so many people will have seen the actual Joe Exotic portraying the role of Joe Exotic.
So it'll be tough.
Yeah.
I mean, oh, God.
Actually, don't respect Joe Exotic and only wait till he's freed to make this.
You're going to portray Joe Exotic.
Play the role.
I like how in this one article, they're like, what if it's David Spade?
Like Joe Dirt that is one of the weak points of the documentary
is they don't mention Joe Dirt at all
when it's just sitting there
you know people are thinking about it
this guy seems to have maybe
modeled his life after
the David Spade character Joe Dirt
but very interesting series modeled his life after the David Spade character, Joe Dirt.
But very, very interesting series.
Carole Baskin, very intriguing figure at the center of it.
A big cat collector who poses as a big cat rescuer, some may say.
But anyways.
You got to watch it.
You guys got to watch it.
You got to watch it, guys.
We're giving you until Monday, and then we're going in on Tiger King.
Speaking of large.
I'm sorry.
I just thought David Morse, who is in the negotiator and contact and like the rock 12
monkeys.
Yeah.
He could be Jeff Lowe.
Oh, shit.
Yeah.
David Morse looks just like fucking Jeff Lowe. Oh, shit. Yeah. David Morse looks just like fucking Jeff Lowe.
Although Superdude and Hosnade blowing up the text thread thinking Nick Cage should play Jeff Lowe.
Look, honestly, I'm down to see either one.
I think David Morse looks more likely.
Nick Cage could be fucking.
Yeah.
Oh, boy.
Please.
Or John Travolta.
Yeah.
I mean, John Travolta, he's built
a little too thick. He would need to lose a lot of weight.
He would need to be Doc.
He would need to be Doc. Alright.
This is not interesting to people who have not seen
Tiger King yet. Y'all need to watch it.
Get a password if you don't have
Netflix. Get in there
before Monday. Or have the homie
FaceTime it to you over their phone.
Speaking of scary animals, Bison is trending. Why is that?
It's just like a fantastic video. This guy who's reporting live from, I feel like Yellowstone or
somewhere in Montana, he's basically at like, or yeah, he's at Yellowstone. He's at like the gate
of the park. And it's clearly like one of those reporters who is self-producing.
He's his own shooter.
He's his own sound guy.
He just travels around, sets up his tripod, and then produces his segment.
So it just starts off with him at the gate to Yellowstone looking off to the side.
And he's like, uh, mm-mm, nah.
I'm not doing that.
Oh, no.
And he starts packing his stuff up.
But his face is just so yeah
basically he's trying to avoid a herd of bison that were coming through it's just like yeah
without even seeing them his demeanor and everything communicates at all and i think
tells you everything you need to know yeah much needed moment of humor in the day yeah um space
force is trending uh yeah what's what's going on with them?
They did it
Oh they're in space?
They're space forcing
Did they have their first space battle?
They're forcing their satellites into the space now
They launched their first satellite
So the first official move
Of the Space Force has now
Commenced or gone underway
Whatever term we're using Space Force is now commenced or gone underway or whatever term we're using.
Space Force is official now.
Facebook official.
Hell yeah.
Congratulations to
Space Book.
Yeah, I mean,
Facebook might as well change
their name to Space Book
because that's where we're headed.
I mean, if they don't, Jack,
you and I maybe need to go in
on a little venture,
start our own little platform.
Space Book.
to go in on a little venture start our own our own little platform uh let uh in the world of coronavirus a couple things that are trending kathy griffin uh
who i think uh conservative people think is like our uh favorite celebrity on like any people who
aren't fans of trump because yeah the hierarchy of people
the left love it's barack obama michelle obama kathy griffin exactly um but she said some things
about she was going into the hospital with coronavirus symptoms and uh also talked shit
about trump and you know the right loves to reprint some Kathy Griffin quotes.
I mean, look at him now.
Look at her.
Look at the state of her.
Was it just that she was
talking shit from a hospital bed?
Yeah, I think that's what it was.
Yeah, well that's...
And then New Orleans
is trending, which
is something that I just noticed in the past hour is people are talking about that.
You know, there had been early talk from, I think, a senator or a governor of Louisiana saying that his state was going to be have a real problem.
is going to have a real problem.
And now people are saying it might be the new epicenter of the U.S.
with the fastest growing number of cases,
a lot of deaths happening in the New Orleans area right now,
and they're saying it was because of the Mardi Gras celebration that happened down there at the end of February.
So very scary times.
People in New Orleans, stay safe um yeah and really just
try and isolate yourself as much as possible i mean you know i find myself even like i can't
even i don't even get within 12 feet of my own mother because she's like over 70 and i'm like
i'm like ding dong ditching things at her door and i'm like what happened i'm like i had like, I had to drop it off. I'm gone though. Just take that, wash it, please. And just, please really
be careful as much as possible because you know, there, you know, you can be asymptomatic and still
carry the shit around. And I know most listeners are probably savvy enough to listen to what health
experts say, but if you know, there are people in your family, friend group, whatever, what have
you, please tell them and try and communicate just how severe the situation is.
Because the state of hospitals in New York, California, Michigan, New Orleans, I'm sure
now, is so grim.
And talking to anybody who works in health care, there's not a single person who just
doesn't have the 1,000-yard stare in their eyes if they're working near an ICU at the
moment.
So please take care of each other. Yeah, absolutely. doesn't have the thousand-yard stare in their eyes if they're working near an ICU at the moment.
So please take care of each other.
Yeah, absolutely.
One kind of idea that I'm seeing trending a lot of different places today
is just the idea that people who play video games
are a superior race of human than the rest of us,
at least during this quarry team,
because they can escape anytime they want to.
Oh, yeah.
Gotta say, I'm a little jealous, y'all.
I mean, it depends.
On one side, I think gamers,
we grew up escaping from reality
into a world of digital fun and fantasy.
And now that it's almost societally mandated,
I'm almost having trouble at times.
I'm like, yeah, I would love to go into the game world
and also escape the real world,
but I'm also having trouble distracting myself.
But I think for anyone who's had some time to put in on a career mode or a
campaign mode whatever a few old game saves you've been neglecting yeah this definitely helps and
just find a game you know here's the thing man games are like food there's one for there's one
for everybody out there even someone you think you don't need food you actually do it's this was a
news i don't know if you guys read this i don't know if you saw this you need food you also there's
a game out there for you there's a game huh that's interesting
way to think about the fact that i don't play games maybe i'm like a game super taster where
i just have incredibly specific taste right exactly games and once i once i find a game
that is right for me uh it's on just get like an old school like nba jam emulator and you'll
remember you'll remember how it used to be go back the controls were simple before the days of like
releasing the shot at the apex of your jump to make sure it goes in i'm like nah bro it used to
just be hit the fucking button and you shot it well that's that was always part of the thing
was that you wanted to yeah it at the Apex.
Well, now it's like the 2K games.
I'm like, bro, I don't have the 10,000 hours
to get fluent at this game
to be able to not completely disgrace myself.
No, don't you know Steph Curry releases it
before the peak of his job?
God damn it, I should have known that.
Getting beat by a nine-year-old.
Yeah, but DJ Danil, Super Producer DJ Danil,
hasn't taken off his VR helmet since we started this quarantine.
No.
He's found a way to do everything through this VR headset.
On our other calls, he has it on.
But he's like, yeah, I'm here.
I'm actually seeing the video from the Zoom,
but I'm also in the rainforest.
Right, yeah, yeah. here. I'm actually seeing the video from the Zoom, but I'm also in the rainforest. Right. Yeah, yeah.
And a butterfly is hanging around.
Hacking around with machete, playing with butterflies.
Yeah, pretty.
It looks fun.
Anyways, guys, that is what's trending this Thursday afternoon.
We will be back tomorrow with our final podcast of the week uh and
we will talk to you guys then stay safe out there bye
