to think about my favorite norwegian player who's hurt thank you to a vanadium silver on the discord
for that arsenal reference that only i will understand but i will hold in my heart very
dearly my guest co-host holly vign is looking like, what the fuck are you talking about?
I don't understand it.
I don't get it.
I don't know.
I don't know what you're saying.
I was like,
is this an incantation?
Is this an incantation?
And I was down.
I was down for it.
But then you said Arsenal
and I was like,
boo, sports.
Boo, sport.
Anyway,
this is the September 10th edition
of the trending episode you already know
that's paula v gunnalan on the other side of me um thank you paula v for you know hanging out to
tell people what's trending oh man you're so welcome and i just want to say never forget
september 10th too because i think it's more important because kind of like the night before
everything went down thank you the night beforeismas, as my grandmother called it.
So she all September 10th.
Lovely woman.
Lovely woman.
Anyway, these are the things that are trending.
First up, James Earl Jones passed away.
That was a big kick in the nerdy.
But for everybody who like I'm in the middle of playing a star wars game uh just a fan of his voice people whether you loved him from the lion king or conan or the
great white hope sandlot anything he's had all these moments and i think what was i think uh
brian the editor was pointing out too pretty amazing that you've had this career when he
passed away at like 93 and we was from my
understanding not really a controversial figure so hey shout out to you my man uh but also you
know that he was like don't bring it up to us don't don't bring it up right now i'm mourning
darth vader okay we don't want to know we just believe he was a great man and had a great voice
and was a great actor exactly thank you thank you thank you coming
to america oh my god america field of dreams fucking wood cat on a hot tin roof this he he
spanned ages and his contributions to film are felt forever film theater voice acting anyway so
shout out to you uh james roe jones rest in peace um the other thing that is
trending cheetos is trending because the carl the carlsbad caverns and the carlsbad caverns national
park uh something happened so someone left a full bag of cheetos in the big room which is the quote
largest single cave chamber by volume in north america um and according to a facebook
post this left this errant bag that was left of cheetos quote attracted wildlife and worryingly
grew mold on the caverns walls which affected the ecosystem of the cave and is also how jk
rowling got the mold in her home there was an empty bag of cheetos just left it there
that i left there and it backfired and i'm sorry everybody knows transphobia plus and a half open
bag of cheetos equals mold crawling up all the backs in that cavern are transphobic thank you
that's all look and thank you polyvi i know you have a background in science i feel like that's
probably a nailed on i will put my degree on that.
Thank you.
Call the California Institute of Technology
and tell them that this is what their education did to me.
And maybe they shouldn't have offered
a bioengineering degree as a first year for me.
Oh my God.
One of your old professors is like,
I was just checking on what Pallavi's doing.
She has something really interesting.
They like get a Nobel prize from it it i'm like yeah waste it again
how did they win how did they win a nobel prize for their groundbreaking research on cheetos plus
transphobia equals mold uh and it's just it's it's the new law uh but yeah apparently they were able
to clear the area and have foreign mold and things like that. It said, the processed corn softened by the humidity of the cave formed the perfect environment to host microbial life and fungi.
Cave crickets, mites, spiders, and flies soon organized into a temporary food web, dispersing the nutrients to the surrounding cave and formations.
That's so fucking wild.
It's like if penicillin went wrong.
Yeah. Accidental. that's so fucking it's like if penicillin went wrong we grew mold but it was actually a very bad thing this was not good this did not this was not a breakthrough for antibiotics at all this is all bad and we could have ruined the largest cave
yeah damn you would think it would be the opposite yeah in a way like i don't know i guess
like it's heartening to know that cheetos can breathe life into another lot an otherwise
lifeless place like a cave um so thank you thank you to cheetos for we don't want any copy cheetos
cat you know what i mean no no no no don't bring cheetos into a cake like also what is his name
the cheetos chester cheetah yeah chester cheeto or whatever yeah yeah yeah don't and just also
cheetos are such a weird that has to be a kid like if you're an adult you're an asshole if you're
like like hey i'm going on my fucking cake like my nature walk i'm gonna get a fucking bag full
of cheetos i'm spilling everywhere come on now what about the what if they did an experiment where they went back and they put the fiery
the hot cheetos and then they were like the opposite happened and we were like what the
fuck is the difference between yeah they're like it grew new stalagmites and stalactites that we've
never seen it was only possible through the power of flaming hot chemicals hot cheetos um the next thing that's
trending taylor swift and we haven't talked about taylor in a while she's been keeping her head low
but you know her her boo travis kelsey he's on a team with the quarterback patrick mahomes and
his wife britney mahomes didn't been getting some attention recently looks like she's kind of liking some
maga content you know what i mean uh that the people are taking it as a soft endorsement if
not a basic a basic full-on endorsement of donald trump britney mahomes is she
is she is she from kansas city is that what you're trying to say? Sure, sure, sure, sure.
That's what I was thinking.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Is she the fairest of them all?
Mirror, mirror on the wall.
I'm just curious.
I'm just curious. Yes, yes, yes.
It turns out, yes, yes, yes, she is.
And so people are like, oh, shit, Brittany Mahomes is like all into MAGA.
And, you know, I think I'm not really shocked by that at all.
But the thing is, Taylor Swift was recently pictured with her.
They were, like, booed up, having a laugh, hugging it up.
And a lot of the Swifties were like, what the fuck?
It's Swifties for Kamala.
And you're, like, full-on embracing this MAGA figure.
Like, one person on Twitter put,, but not surprised ATP at this point.
I'd love to hear that.
Others were just having some form of like,
this is not Miss Americana.
This is not Miss Americana of you at all,
where they're referencing the documentary where she said,
I felt responsible to be on the right side of history before,
right before she endorsed Joe Byron.
And right as of now, Taylor has not, she's keeping her cards close to the chest but also like he's used her music
and she hasn't been like stop using my music right isn't that a thing where she's like she
hasn't said stop using my likeness or my music and other artists have done that for the republic
oh i don't know how they use her I just remember the one thing was when he
used that AI thing and she's like, Taylor Swift
endorsed me.
We didn't really hear anything from there.
I thought it was, maybe it's not music.
Maybe I got that wrong.
It could be.
I'm not as up on Taylor Swift as I
was when the Eros tour fervor
was at the highest point.
Get him, Swifties!
Get her! He's not on taylor swift yeah um yeah
i think that was the main thing was she had this whole ass documentary where she was like i'm gonna
stand up to my white friends and family and tell them that i'm not voting or be public about not
wanting donald trump to be president and then now it's like oh like oh it's inconvenient for your social life interesting
yeah i would have never have guessed that in the box seats in kansas's game well yeah because then
they're pointing at the fact like they weren't sitting next to each other next time so she was
trying to be like okay how about physical distance rather than like a statement does that work for anyone no okay it's fine whatever she'll
probably come out like at the zero hour when it doesn't matter okay that's what all the people
who thought she was gay said but that didn't happen either oh very clever very clever okay
let's take a quick break uh and we'll come diving even deeper
into the unbelievable stories behind 7M Films
and LA-based Shekinah Church,
an alleged cult that has impacted members
for over two decades.
Jessica and I will delve into the hidden truths
between high-control groups and interview dancers,
church members, and others whose lives and careers
have been impacted, just like mine.
Through powerful, in-depth interviews with former members and new, chilling firsthand accounts,
the series will illuminate untold and extremely necessary perspectives.
Forgive Me For I Have Followed will be more than an exploration.
It's a vital revelation aimed at ensuring these types of abuses never happen again.

I'm Keri Champion, and this is season four of Naked Sports,
where we live at the intersection of sports and culture.
Up first, I explore the making of a rivalry,
Kaitlyn Clark versus Angel Reese.
I know I'll go down in history.
People are talking about women's basketball
just because of one single game.
Every great player needs a foil.
I ain't really near them boys.
I just come here to play basketball every single day,
and that's what I focus on.
From college to the pros,
Clark and Reese have changed the way we consume women's sports.
Angel Reese is a joy to watch.
She is unapologetically black.
I love her.
What exactly ignited this fire?
Why has it been so good for the game?
And can the fanfare surrounding these two supernovas be sustained?
This game is only going to get better because the talent is getting better.
This new season will cover all things sports and culture.
Listen to Naked Sports on the Black Effect Podcast Network,

I've been thinking about you.
I want you back in my life.
It's too late for that.
I have a proposal for you.
Come up here and document my project.
All you need to do is record everything like you always do.
One session. 24 hours.
BPM 110, 120. She's terrified.
Should we wake her up?
Absolutely not.
What was that?
You didn't figure it out?
I think I need to hear you say it.
That was live audio of a woman's nightmare.
This machine is approved and everything?
You're allowed to be doing this?
We passed the review board a year ago.
We're not hurting people.
There's nothing dangerous about what you're doing.
They're just dreams.
Dream Sequence is a new horror thriller
from Blumhouse Television iheart radio and realm
listen to dream sequence on the iheart radio app apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts
it was december 2019 when the story blew up in green bay wisconsin former packer star kabir
baja b amila caught up in a bizarre situation hey gGB explaining what he believes led to the arrest of his friends at a children's Christmas play.
A family man, former NFL player, devout Christian,
now cut off from his family and connected to a strange arrest.
I am going to share my journey of how I went from Christianity to now a Hebrew Israelite.
I got swept up in Kabir's journey, but this was only the beginning.
In a story about faith and football,
the search for meaning away from the gridiron,
and the consequences for everyone involved.
You mix homesteading with guns and church,
and then a little bit of the spice of conspiracy theories that we liked.
Voila! You got straight away.
I felt like I was living in north korea but worse
if that's possible listen to spiraled on the iheart radio app apple podcasts or wherever you
get your podcasts and we are back let's get the boring government shit out of the way before we
talk about beyonce and comedians being sued by Trump.
Shutdown is trending because Donald Trump is now begging Speaker Mike Johnson to essentially shut down the government over the next spending bill.
Why, you ask?
It's because they want to include a measure that requires voters to present proof of citizenship when they vote.
requires voters to present proof of citizenship when they vote.
So they're trying to sneak this in right before the election to then turn just an all-out voter suppression attack, basically.
Oh, you don't have, well, I mean, you don't have the proof that you're a citizen, then I guess you can't vote today.
So this has become like a huge thing, whereas many people are like, oh, you're just going to threaten to shut the government down over this. I think conservatives in their minds think they're like,
well,
I mean,
don't you guys want to protect the integrity of the election?
I mean,
I don't see what's so wrong with that.
And then we can fund our precious government,
but this is coming at a time where like the political goodwill is not
necessarily on their sides to be shutting down the government over where
your papers before your vote type legislation
so i wish government shutdowns meant like oh like the war is gonna shut down and not like the
library right yeah yeah yeah i wish government shutdowns meant like the bathroom stuff actually
did shut down well the bomb factory is gonna go night night if you do that if we have to shut down
the government we can't make any more boom booms and send them so you know what do you want what do you want
uh yeah like you know mitch mcconnell is even like this is absurd this is a ridiculous uh
obviously mcconnell's still alive mitch mcconnell old freaking zombie face is still out here riding
riding strong um but yeah i mean obviously it could
pass the house but the senate is controlled by democrats so it would just be doa there so
they're like yeah go ahead like fucking play do your worst here like you can we'll see who blinks
um and the republicans are like we will do the worst and we're like fuck yeah don't worry never
mind no fucking we fucking lost it man we got to do everything we
can to keep this felon out of prison and i don't know why this happened but i don't know he said
some good racist stuff and we just were like yeah we like it we like that he can say it out loud we
want to say it out loud too um so we'll we'll keep an eye on that story i mean as it stands i just
don't think uh they're like we won't shut down the government if you let us say the n-word and we're like no they're like god damn it uh all right i'm just look i had to try i had to try to try this time
i had to try what about can all right i'll send some racial slurs over you guys can thumbs up or
thumbs down them over you put it like in a tv show or a movie like on a on a napkin and you
slide it across the table okay here's my best and final offer and
i've never seen an offer with that many r's before yeah also isn't isn't mud blood from
the harry potter universe we like to use it derogatorily hey and you can get biracial
quadracials whatever you call what i mean look we need a word for it um so we will see too long
yeah exactly and and we and we don't like to use old timey slurs like quadroon um so beyonce
trending obviously because the cma nominations came out yesterday and well well well if if i
mean just based on their past history i remember when little nas x had like the biggest
song on earth old town road um or tex or yeah old town road um that texas holden was beyonce's song
and somehow wasn't nominated for a cma even though the people were like this is like this is like a
country track and it took billy ray cyrus to be like hey i'm gonna hop on the remix and they're
like well now you're talking thanks for having your for having your white chaperone on this fucking track.
So we can actually give you a nomination.
So Cowboy Carter, the album, you know, made history.
Dolly Parton.
It had all of the country stars on it.
Shit was country.
Miley.
Absolutely.
Everybody.
This was, again again made history first black woman to
top the country music charts and have a number one song texas hold'em uh but somehow that wasn't
enough to get nominated like completely snubbed someone pointed out that like in the history of
like music award shows i don't think
there's anyone who has had a number one album and number one song that has been completely like
disappeared from nominations from like a grammys or a you know anything like of that nature so
we see what you're doing the cmas i know they'll point to things like it was like well she said it
wasn't a country album she said it was a beyonce album okay uh i feel like
is beyonce a genre yes and that's why i feel like she shouldn't worry about awards anymore
because it's like she's been snubbed so many times that it literally like her being snubbed
delegitimizes the granny award show it only makes her stronger it makes her stronger and them look
like fuck it's like she's in her own level and she can't
win the awards because then if she were included like she would just dominate yeah yeah it is just
wild i mean like when it's just so i mean it's not because we live in a well an era now where
like everything is so mask off where they're like well you know she's a black woman um and we just
it just kind of doesn't go that way i mean while they do recognize
like black artists in country um you know this one just felt a little bit weird um especially for how
how good that album was it was so good and it was so like like country musicians who are your like favorite country musicians and your favorite country
musicians musicians like they approved they they were like we fucking co-sign this this is the
country album we love her we're fans yeah you know and then the country music awards where all of
those people have been like awarded we're like no no forget it i loved spaghetti that track was great fucking bodyguard good
yeah i really like spaghetti i mean that was a little bit that wasn't like that had a little
more a little hip-hop to it but you know i really like the album alone on on like levi's or
something wasn't that levi's jeans by beyonce and post oh yeah he counts as country but she doesn't
i know and he was out here trying to
scoop like you know we we saw you dabbling in black culture post-malone only to be like nope
i'm country now does that work sorry what do you mean dabbling that was like his whole thing i mean
the yeah i'd say that euphemistically to act like he's like oh it's just a little just a little bit
of a thing i mean white iverson i mean that was like kind of like a it was like a send-up of yeah
black music but that's like what a lot of I mean, that's what Miley did.
She like went just dibble dabble.
Yeah.
Wow.
It's like they went country.
Huh.
And then I also realized, too, like that Tracy Chapman, she only got that CMA because a white artist covered Fast Car.
And you're like, oh, yeah.
A hundred percent.
OK.
Yeah.
Not surprising. fast car and you're like oh my god 100 okay yeah um not surprising but when it when you read it
over and over again it it just the sting doesn't go away and then finally another trump trend so
in rolling stone they're reporting that this is from a quote from this rolling stone article
quote lawyers close to trump and his inner circle have spent more than a year researching obscure
elements of the criminal code seeking novel ways to criminally charge comedians in retaliation like just in general he's like
looking for all kinds of ways to come at his critics we're already comedians haven't we
suffered enough yeah exactly exactly i didn't get a quibby deal i missed the quibby i when
everyone's getting quibby checks i missed that okay okay
what's the next have our impressions and our little dick jokes so while first it was going
after government officials then the focus switched to late night comedians uh it says quote as
president trump briefly attempted to get justice officials to twist campaign finance laws and the
federal equal time rule to declare that anti-trump material broadcast
by saturday night live jimmy kimmel stephen colbert and others was somehow illegal and during
his 2024 campaign according to a source of direct knowledge trump has raised this topic again
venting about the need to punish late night comedians for giving quote illegal campaign contributions in
the form of jokes and on air satire.
Wow.
Wow.
Wow.
Wow.
Wow.
Wow.
Um,
good luck.
I would,
I would love to be considered a contribution by any of my jokes.
I would love it for someone to be like,
yeah,
she's contributing.
Wow.
Wow.
You know what?
That's, that's a positive. She's a positive.'s a positive she's adding she's adding um but yeah one day you know who knows if uh if if he's
able to pull it off maybe we'll all be in the same weird comedian camp together uh like in a prison
we're gonna start an open mic at a concentration camp we're just like jesus christ the most grim comedy could you imagine oh um but
we'll find a way we'll find a way to be stupid as comedians will find a way we'll meme through
the pain so we're like weeds in the pavement exactly exactly we're the jokes that grew from
from concrete uh well paula v thank you so much for joining me on this trending episode
i think maybe i'll see you tomorrow for another bit of hosting, huh?
How about that?
Maybe.
Why don't we try that out?
Yeah.
Maybe that's a spoiler.
Maybe it's not.
Goodbye forever, Jack.
All right, y'all.
Uh, we will see you tomorrow.
Uh, make sure you follow us, you know, subscribe to the show, do all that.
Uh, make sure you take care of yourselves, take care of each other.
Uh, you know, get the vaccine, vaccine get all your vaccine get your flu shot you know and wait for that
i have has that new new uh that new new covid come out yet i don't know but i am going into
any lab i have access to on my old student card and just shooting myself with needles of whatever
they have in there you know what i mean compound x anything you know yes yo what do you think your what do
you think your power would be if you hit yourself with compound x oh god i hope it's not or it's
v right yeah for the boys oops yeah whatever whatever i don't know letters i'm a scientist
um i would i i hope it's not something that can be sexualized because they've done that with everything on there.
Yeah.
I'm like, I just want something that's rated PG.
Would you want to do head popping?
Oh, no.
I don't want to do anything violent.
I want to do something that's like silly and like and sweet.
Like I can talk like I can call all that.
I want to like a snow white thing or a Cinderella thing where I can call the animals to like make my dress like pet slaves.
You know what I mean? Just make my dresses for me and like and like you know make my stews for me and stuff you know yeah yeah they're like it's gonna take two bluebirds to work that
ladle yeah yeah i know bluebirds are like please can we unionize and And I'm like, no, get back to the stew. But then you head pop them.
They're like, don't make me.
No, I don't want to head pop them.
I said I just wanted, I'm sorry, let me change the language.
I wanted animal assistance around the house.
Assistance, yeah.
But you know what time it is.
Pee in this Gatorade bottle or like whatever weird poop pee birds have.
If I had a useless one, I think I would just literally make it rain money at will.
Oh, fuck yeah.
That's not useless.
I mean, I don't want to cause
like a scene to have people
fighting over like loose bills,
but that's a great distraction.
And then every time they're like,
why aren't you married
or have kids?
I could just be like,
shh, and make it rain.
And then they all scramble
for the money and I get out.
Or just like a magic trick
where I just go,
why don't you check your,
why don't you check
your pockets right now?
Yeah.
Oh my God.
$70,000 in cash.
And then I'm gone.
That's literally like Drake's music videos.
Yeah.
Except without the creepy allegations.
You know what I mean?
But it's also like it's not coming from a bank account.
Like it's out of thin air.
Like where people are like, I think this guy's fucking up the economy.
I'm like, y'all are printing money already anyway fucking relax you're worried about me okay sure um all right
well that is gonna do it for us like i said we'll catch y'all tomorrow the last part don't do
nothing about white supremacy we'll see you tomorrow bye bye

People are talking about women's basketball just because of one
single game. Clark and Reese have changed

basketball. And on this new
season, we'll cover all things sports
and culture. Listen to Naked Sports
on the Black Effect Podcast Network,
iHeartRadio apps, or wherever you get your

Network is sponsored by Diet
Coke. In California during
the summer of 1975, within the span of 17 days and less than 90 miles, two women did something
no other woman had done before, try to assassinate the president of the United States. One was the
protege of Charles Manson, 26-year-old Lynette Fromm, nicknamed Squeaky. The other, a middle-aged
housewife working undercover for the FBI.
Identified by police as Sarah Jean Moore.
The story of one strange and violent summer, this season on the new podcast, Rip Current.
