How do you feel about biscuits? Hi, I'm Akilah Hughes, and I'm so excited about my new podcast,
Rebel Spirit, where I head back to my hometown in Kentucky and try to convince my high school to change their racist mascot, the Rebels, into something everyone in the South loves,
the biscuits.
I was a lady rebel.
Like, what does that even mean?
It's right here in black and white in print.
It's bigger than a flag or mascot.
Listen to Rebel Spirit on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Hello, the internet, and welcome to this episode of road zeitland the osh trend state
that is on the license plate of rhode island or possibly on the uh just something so some
some piece of rhode island merch so shout out to the osh trend state oh we'd love to see it
we'd love to see the osh trend state you ever been to rhode island oh yeah yeah yeah because
i lived in massachusetts for a while so you always end up going down to Rhode Island.
Down to Rhodey?
Go down to Rhode Island, the Asian state.
I had a, no, I just know someone from my high school went to RISD.
And that was the last thing I had ever heard about Rhode Island.
I thought you were like, and that was the last we ever heard of them.
All right.
Well, I am Jack. You are Miles. I'm Miles. And here are- And I know someone that went to RISD. rhode island i thought you're like and that was the last we ever heard of them all right well i
am jack you are miles and here i know someone that went to risdy and you know something and
that's our episode and these are the things that are trending pacific northwest earthquakes there's
been a swarm of earthquakes off the oregon coast not enough to cause a tsunami but people are are wondering if this is the
precursor to the really big one like the way the way it's shaped is it's like that earthquake will
cause a massive tsunami and like it has had you know nine uh plus earthquakes in the past
and it's so powerful that there was something in history in Japan called a ghost tsunami,
which was like they didn't understand where it came from because they didn't have an earthquake.
And it was actually it came from all the way across the Pacific from this subduction zone.
Hey, folks, another thing to put on the old vision board of shit to freak you out.
Yeah.
There's also stuff that Super Producer Brian was talking about with a super volcano that's not even a volcano.
It's just going to liquefy the earth up there.
It's just going to bleed lava out of a hole until everything's on fire.
Until everything's lava.
So that's something to you know just keep
an eye on look that's why i said that netflix show the floor is lava it's useful you know
because when the floor does become lava you'll have those skills to navigate around it yeah
pfizer is trending for a couple reasons actually first of all uh three doses do appear to protect
against omicron which you know
people were wondering where where we're at with that that's decent news um i'm a three dose pfizer
bitch uh so wow look at you yeah yeah um step aside we got a three dose pfizer coming by yeah
yeah what else are they in the news for viagra might treat alzheimer's oh yeah we're talking about yeah we talked about the alzheimer's yeah yeah did we already talk about that
oh no i might need to start taking all right so you know we no longer have to speculate you are
not using viagra okay yeah uh and metaverse is it's just been like a slow boil since Mark Zuckerberg made that wild ass
video,
um,
announcing the metaverse and that Facebook was going to be called meta.
Um,
it's just been like a slow boil of news stories where it's like someone got
married in the metaverse and you know,
this state is going to move completely to,
uh, the metaverse or some like nation
i think is like adopting the metaverse and um you know i'm just i i guess i'm just checking in
to ask the question is this gonna be a thing like it felt like a failed stunt from uh mark
zuckerberg and now people keep there's just like a steady drum beat of people
trying to make it a thing yeah i i don't know i don't know i don't know what it is no i don't
care at the moment i this this couple that got fucking married in the metaverse looks like jeff
bezos and like some character from mid summer
somar however you want to say that it just like this new york times article is so absurd it says
getting married in the metaverse one couple's recent nuptials in the virtual world known as
the metaverse showcase the possibilities of having a wedding unfettered by the bounds of reality
oh fuck off that sounds like a fucking brochure.
The New York Times is doing SponCon,
like, for sure, right?
If they're not officially doing sponsored content,
there is, like, some broad directive from above
that, like, we need to buy into
whatever this bullshit version of reality is
that we've kind of been pot committed on since the 90s
of like neoliberalism so um let's just go out there and put on a brave face and pretend the
metaverse is the thing um yeah this there's like even they even talked to a wedding planner who's
like yeah i'm just trying to see how this could factor into my business you know people can take
a their friends on a space rocket for the wedding.
Like, I don't give a, I'm not on a fucking space rocket.
So shut the fuck up.
I'm in my motherfucking house.
Right.
What are you saying to me?
It'd be one thing if like, and I'm sure this is where the metaverse would probably be headed is that that like virtual reality wearable stuff is gonna get
so vivid that you would think your stinking ass was on a fucking rocket ship but right now it
looks like a bunch of minecraft orgies happening and i don't care yeah um so i don't know if this is uh you know us just shaking our cloud out of fists being old or if this is oh my it is
fucking stupid spawn con it is basic well i'll tell you that's because this couple right they're
talking the the whole piece like the whole thrust of this is to talk about this couple this fucking
i'll announce dave and tracy ganyan who are 52 and 60 respectively and they said
the this is i just want to read this first part right because this is where it gets you realize
where it all hangs out tracy and dave uh met in the cloud so it only made sense that their wedding
took place in it on labor day weekend the couple or rather their digital avatars held a ceremony
staged by verbella a company that builds virtual environments for work learning and events
these two fucking stooges work for verbella oh okay so like they only did it to big up their
company you know what i mean like yeah yeah but the new york times wrote about it on their own
like without being this is where i don't know and i don't care but it clearly it's more insidious this way like that's
that's what's so fucked is because like right they have to yeah they own so far down to know this
they own uh communication now like uh neoliberalism and like that sort of uh world of billionaires uh owns how we communicate with one another that's a very bad
thing it's just really fucked up and this is this is an even more like aggressive version of that
yeah yeah and i'm not i'm not hating on like remote shit everyone had to get down how they
had to to survive not if people have mobility issues or whatever,
your health,
you know,
precludes you from going to a wedding,
but like to,
to put out a fucking article or they're like,
I mean,
is this the future of weddings?
Or this is kind of an interesting thing.
I don't,
I mean like whatever.
I think I'm just,
I can't look at something out of the New York times anymore.
Immediately.
Just have my eyes roll away like a roller blade, that is a great visual you're exactly right like there's nothing wrong with any
of this but the idea of pretending like facebook invented it and fit like facebook is the first to
do it is absurd and incorrect um that's just facebook is the one owned by a billionaire
that's going to have the most
money going into controlling your behavior and observing you. All right, let's take a quick break
and we'll be right back. This summer, the nation watched as the Republican nominee for president
was the target of two assassination attempts, separated by two months.
These events were mirrored nearly 50 years ago when President Gerald Ford faced two attempts on his life in less than three weeks.
President Gerald R. Ford came stunningly close to being the victim of an assassin today.
And these are the only two times we know of that a woman has tried to assassinate a U.S. president.
One was the protege of infamous cult leader Charles Manson.
I always felt like Lynette was kind of his right-hand woman.
The other, a middle-aged housewife
working undercover for the FBI
in a violent revolutionary underground.
Identified by police as Sarah Jean Moore.
The story of one strange and violent summer.

real talk on drugs, but it's time we know the facts. Fentanyl is often laced into illicit drugs and
used to make fake versions of prescription pills. You can't see it, taste it, or smell it. Suppliers
mix fentanyl into their products because it's potent and cheap, and the dealer might not even
know. Keep yourself and others safe by knowing the real deal on fentanyl. Get the facts. Go to

Daphne Caruana Galizia was a Maltese investigative journalist who on October 16th, 2017,
was murdered. There are crooks everywhere you look now. The situation is desperate.
My name is Manuel Delia.
I am one of the hosts of Crooks Everywhere,
a podcast that unhearts the plot
to murder a one-woman Wikileaks.
Daphne exposed the culture
of crime and corruption that were
turning her beloved country into
a mafia state.
And she paid the ultimate price.
Listen to Crooks Everywhere starting September 25th on the iHeart
Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I want you back in my life. It's too late for that. I have a proposal for you.
Come up here and document my project.
All you need to do is record everything like you always do.
One session.
24 hours.
BPM 110.
120.
She's terrified.
Should we wake her up?
Absolutely not.
What was that?
You didn't figure it out?
I think I need to hear you say it.
That was live audio of a woman's nightmare.
This machine is approved and everything?
You're allowed to be doing this?
We passed the review board a year ago.
We're not hurting people.
There's nothing dangerous about what you're doing.
They're just dreams.
Dream Sequence is a new horror thriller from Blumhouse Television,
iHeartRadio, and Realm.

And we're back, andagara falls is in the news uh you know this used to be trending
every day back in the 1800s early 1900s just people stayed watching uh magicians go over
the falls in a barrel and that that was that was what they did What was the survival rate of that early form of UFC?
Not great.
It was not great.
Yeah, I can't imagine.
Well, this looks like the updated version.
And just truth be told, nothing terrible has happened.
It says deceased driver pulled out of vehicle, hung up on rocks 50 yards from Brink of the Falls.
Okay, whoops.
So, yeah.
Well, you know, God's working on all of us you know so i
didn't have all the information there but uh rest in peace to that unfortunate person that might
make sense as to why the car i'm imagining that may have been why the car went into the river
either way a harrowing visual yeah water is dangerous seems to be the theme of this episode
we got the fox news christmas tree fire uh
you hate to see it right i mean i think that's all we can say is this is one of it's an attack on
it's attack on american christianity attack on uh freedom yep it's an attack on uh everything we
hold dear here at the daily zeitgeist um and we're you know our thoughts and prayers are with are with the are with tree
thoughts and prayers and santa where there was santa uh his elves his helpers uh baby jesus
um all the all the christmas things that are under attack by uh you know these these godless uh people who want us to stop uh doing
mass shootings or something i don't i can't even really put together what what their ideas are
these days but yeah that's some 49 year old dude just fucking she went up man like that was a successful act of arson, I guess you would call it.
Right.
And but I feel like they're going to, you know, not throw the book at this person.
Oh, wait, they're going to try and treat the turn this person into like public enemy number one, I'm sure.
Dude, Megan McCain tweeted.
number one, I'm sure. Dude, Megan McCain tweeted, I don't want to hear anything about how radical some of you believe Republicans to be when there are lunatics running around New York City
setting Fox News Christmas tree on fire. Setting Fox News Christmas tree on fire?
I love the grammar. They set Fox News Christmas tree on fire.
Right. So if you're going to talk to me about the fact that you
know some people uh tried to overthrow the election and killed people in the process like come on like
they set fox news christmas tree on fire are you okay honestly i'm already making a commemorative
plate it's our new 9-11 december 8th yeah never forget history yeah i
mean but yeah that's what the coverage on fox is like where it's like this is it like like this is
the this is the low point for america folks yeah they kind of messed up on that niagara fall story
that was because you know i'm not gonna blame it all on the fox news christmas tree fire but
it certainly didn't help i can tell you that much just when i
was getting over kobe's death too right anyways uh yeah go go look at the video which uh it's
fun to see like the mainstreaming of video the footage that was posted on next door and uh
citizen um anyways there's a there's a fun story featuring the Finnish Prime Minister
Sanna Marin.
Is that?
She's a
young person. She's like, what, 34?
36? Yeah. Living her
best life. And you know, as someone
who was 36, just
mere moments ago,
I know sometimes
you like to get out there you like to unwind
with the friends and in this case she went out clubbing um but the thing was that she was with
uh like the foreign minister who had tested positive for uh for covid i said cocaine
tested positive for covid and i think the she was apparent she was saying she was told that like
look you don't need to isolate because you've been fully vaccinated but then later she got a
text like yo you should actually like you need to isolate this you've had a close contact but
she left her work phone at home so she didn't get the message and it just feels very human to me
oh so she didn't leave her phone at the at the club she left it at home yeah i think
she forgot it and then she didn't have it with her at the club the prime minister forgot the work
phone because you're trying to you know that's aspirational like that's something i aspire to
is to like be able to just leave my phone at home and like go somewhere and not feel weird about it
i thought she like went out and like left it somewhere
which yeah i was hoping that was the case too yeah that feels she didn't even have her phone
or like yo you did you see that thing i heard doing a bunch of body shots off the health minister
that is but yeah also aspirational like you know that's first of all that they have somebody who's young enough to
be out there uh you know as opposed to our uh head of state um but also the like if joe biden
were um physically and mentally capable of like going out partying like if he was like going out
with like fauci or like that that would be uh i don't know that's like a good sign of camaraderie
uh i guess that she's hanging with the with the co-workers yeah but i think i it's just funny to
me like because i remember seeing a picture someone took a picture of her like at this like
bar or like lounge type thing and it'd be funny if like it just sounds like the premise of like
a show or like you pull up you're like like, hey, what's up, mom?
Like, can I get you a drink?
And they're like, yeah.
They're like, I'm in from out of town.
They're like, oh, great.
And then like, bro, that was the prime minister.
Like Starstruck, that HBO Max show, except it's about.
The prime minister.
Yeah.
Like you hooked up with the prime, you know what?
Prime minister had their eye on you.
Yeah.
And finally, Ariana Grande is in the news.
So she has a new,
it's a makeup line that she dropped.
And,
you know,
with it,
a series of photos that seem to be heavily inspired by photo shoots of an
Asian woman.
And her makeup seems to be,
you know,
is leading to accusations of Asian fishing,
which is when a non-Asian attempts to look Asian for their profit or benefit,
according to the daily dot.
Yeah.
Whether or not it's that,
I mean,
like this is,
this is the thing I think Ariana Grant,
I mean, this is the thing I think Ariana Grande has been able to benefit from is her sort of relative ethnic ambiguity can do these things where it's like, no, I'm not trying to look black.
I just might have more of a tan.
I'm not trying to look Asian.
I'm just not tanning anymore, and I'm doing a very good, just a wicked eyeliner job, okay okay that's what i'm doing i'm not not trying to be anyone i'm not which you know i think that's the it's a fine line
she can walk i mean i remember when i saw that photo earlier this week i thought it was a joke
and someone just found some like k-pop person who looked like ariana grande yeah it's that it is like to that degree
right yeah but it's apparently a photo of a k-pop star that people are saying
that she just like took the look of for for this photo shoot um so yeah i mean there's a lot of
back and forth people saying like you, defending her, which is shocking.
I know that there are people defending a famous person.
But, yeah, I don't know.
I mean, this shouldn't be surprising because we see this all the time with seemingly white presenting pop stars.
They go through phases where they will use their you know proximity to black or brown
culture to give them some cred a little bit of swag then suddenly be like oh i was never doing
that that's actually like i don't do stuff like remember miley cyrus when that was her whole
fucking you know mike will made it phase and suddenly she's like no no no that was just to
get some i was just out there in my twerker phase not doing
anything for the culture except be a vulture right um but yeah this is i'm i can't say i'm
shocked at all yeah all right well those are some of the things that are trending on this
wednesday afternoon we are back tomorrow with the whole last episode of the show. Until then, be kind to each other.
Be kind to yourselves.
Get the vaccine.
Don't do nothing about white supremacy.
And we will talk to you all tomorrow.
Bye.
Bye.
