Starting point is 00:02:06 Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hello, the internet, and welcome to this episode of The Hills Have Zites, aka Let the Zite One In, aka The Last House on the Trend, aka A Girl Walks Home at Zite, aka Poltergeist. Whoa. It worksgeist. Whoa. It works like that. That's all courtesy of Johnny Davis in honor of Friday the 13th. Spooky. Watch out now. So spooky.
Starting point is 00:02:39 So spooky. The last Friday the 13th was the week that everything shut down back in march um oh shit yeah wow okay that's that's something so yeah uh hopefully nothing terrible happens today wow eight months ago yeah eight months holy shit the fact that we survived a halloween that had a full moon that was the second full moon of the month of october aka blue moon i think we can live through anything we've done it all man yeah the mayans were wrong they were wrong survived that and just because our president didn't get re-elected we're still here you know we're still surviving despite the uh the treachery of the biden crime family all right let's get into what
Starting point is 00:03:33 is trending uh cory bush slash brianna taylor are trending uh in just a wildly fucked up story about how just completely out of touch the gop is yeah uh she okay so first of all cory bush is a activist who is now in the house of representatives and from she hails from st louis the squad is expanding yeah exactly so this is like you know the justice democrats slate of people that are coming through. And like all the people who have won recently, there's like freshman orientation for people who are entering the House of Representatives. it can be to have the clothing, like the business wear to be on the hill. And so she's like, was like doing little videos of halls she was doing from thrift shops so she can like have the look that she needs. But for the budget, that is obviously, you know, what makes sense for people who are not like already wealthy millionaires who are just becoming congresspeople for the fuck of it. So the next video that came out like a few hours ago was
Starting point is 00:04:45 from justice democrats where uh cory bush is basically talking about how at the orientation you know people are masked up she is wearing a brianna taylor mask like her mask is black with white text that just says brianna taylor and she basically was saying that so many people like several Republican like leaders thought that she was Breonna Taylor. And I'll just play like a little bit of her kind of explaining what it's been like for her, you know, despite all that. Right. You know, but I am not Breonna Taylor. This Breonna Taylor was murdered in her bed at night and she does not have justice of murder by the police. And I just want people to, you know, we have to stretch ourselves and pay attention to what's happening in other parts of the country. But this has been national news for
Starting point is 00:05:36 a long time. People have protested in the streets with this name. And it just saddens me that people aren't, that people in leadership, people that want to be in leadership don't know the struggles that are happening to black people in this country. And it's just disheartening. And it was hurtful, absolutely hurtful. And I didn't hear it once. I didn't hear it twice. I heard it several times. I'm being called called, you know, Breonna Taylor today and yeah uh and not surprising at all because it's that lack of connection to what American people are experiencing that you know people are completely you know detuned insensitive to what the struggles are of many you know especially black Americans right now so yeah hearing that being like I can already seem like oh and okay
Starting point is 00:06:22 so that's clever you have your name on your mask so are you brianna i gotta get one of those okay mine's gonna say mike du caucas or whatever the fuck name is but yeah it's uh that's fucking wild because they they certainly or they do know or they're fucking with her right which is just as likely to and yeah i don't i was gonna say even worse but i don't i don't know which is worse but the the fact that they heard about uh the protests they were certainly scared of the protests and you know reacted in fear to people getting out in the streets and letting them know how they felt about what happened to Breonna Taylor, but they didn't learn her name, they didn't know what they were protesting about, is just a shocking indictment.
Starting point is 00:07:13 Yeah, or what your media diet gives you. Because if you're just watching Fox, you thought these people were out here because they were mad at the Converse store. Right. They wanted to smash it up, and they hate Target and Walmart. That's right. And not because people like Breonna Taylor, as Cori Bush said, were murdered in their beds and do not have justice. And then you have crooked attorney generals, attorneys general.
Starting point is 00:07:32 I'm sorry. You know, completely misrepresenting what happens to try and get the police off. So it's it's anyway. So it continues. But yeah, please follow Cori Bush in her journey, too. It's it's it's just dope to see people who are like connected to the humanity of this country and like what actual people are going through be out here and representing, you know, their constituents. So, yeah, she was getting pepper sprayed in the eyes during the Ferguson protests and, and you know police violent backlash uh that and now she is in the halls of power so yeah and there are many protesters from ferguson who mysteriously also died too which is another you know sad reality of what was going on there so yeah the fight i wish she would fucking name names of who actually said that shit to her just like honestly those people should be yeah but i mean at the end of the day like the real movement
Starting point is 00:08:34 is going to come from like primarying you know centrist democrats and getting people in who are going to do the right thing rather than trying to like shame the unshamable right that's a good point it's like shaming a fucking like a deaf dog for peeing on the carpet it's like i don't know your mouth's moving yeah uh let's talk about kim ing uh who has become the first woman gm of a pro sports team in like major north american sports because she was made the gm of the miami marlins and she's also the first asian american gm of a pro sports team and this fucking rules she's been passed over for years like her name has been in circulation for gm roles but uh derrick jeter whose name is back in the public consciousness because of Mariah Carey's
Starting point is 00:09:25 biography. But Derek Jeter is the CEO of the Marlins and he was worked with. So Kimming like was, she just like success follows her around. She was with the Yankees, like came to work with the Yankees when like like right when the tory jeter run started and like she's just yeah okay yeah so she's tight with jeter uh she's then like went and worked for a decade with in the major league baseball like front office and is just like has all the connections
Starting point is 00:09:58 is super smart right and is just you know one of those people who's so brilliant and good at what they do that like the you know misogynistic racist system like just can't say no to her anymore so yeah shout out to her fucking awesome story yeah well i mean how do you fuck around you're like oh look i was there for the tory jeter yankees okay you know what i mean like the thing that almost anyone like the reason i watched baseball more like aside from just sort of casually watching when like dodgers had good players but like that was like the team that you're like fuck man yeah he's the yankees yeah harry styles is trending he is on the cover of vogue oh yeah another trailblazer solo male artist uh yeah it's hard to say which one's more impressive but yeah her or this white guy being on vogue i don't know i'm still gonna i'm gonna i can tell you who harry styles fans
Starting point is 00:11:02 thinks is more impressive uh sure but then that, but then that's their prerogative in a very narrow context of saying, yes, Harry Styles. Yeah, sure. I didn't even know. Is that good? Is it that much of a triumph? It's weird when...
Starting point is 00:11:19 Because I see people like, oh, in a first, white man does things that is like, right but his clothes look cool as fuck but i don't know man this dude looks like shit could you imagine us doing a photo shoot like a high fashion photo shoot like where you're wearing like because we looked at this the spread uh yeah sophie is a massive harry styles stand it was like just flooding the thread with picture after picture after picture i was like dude i don't know if i can you know low-key i don't know if i can pull that off you know as much confidence as i have there's some things that
Starting point is 00:11:55 maybe only harry styles has maybe you need that perfectly coiffed hair yeah where the like a outfit that a professional penny fartherfarthering competitor would wear. Yeah. I don't know. Like, the outfits are dope, I think. And the photography, dope. He looks like shit, bro. This dude looks like trash.
Starting point is 00:12:15 I just know you're joking when you go like, the outfit's fucking dope. Like, these are high fashion. These are couture shit. I could definitely pull those off. Y'all like that little under cage that people wore during the Victorian era under their skirts? That shit he's rocking? That shit he's showing?
Starting point is 00:12:30 Tight. It's like one of those deconstructed meals where it's like, you know, they're showing all the component parts in clever ways. No, it's a great photo spread for a guy. But will the hairline hold? It looks like shit. Will the hairline? It looks like he just rolled out of bed. I can tell you his hairline hold shit will the hair roll out of bed i can
Starting point is 00:12:46 tell you his his hairline is not holding without any help uh this dude is creeping we'll see dude is headed for uh as you pointed out jude law territory but you know as we know the male pattern baldness has been cured for uh right price. Or not. I mean, people, honestly, this state of flux. Joel McHale looks good, man. Joel McHale's hair. I want to see Joel McHale come out of a pool. Yeah, that's true.
Starting point is 00:13:14 Then we'll know. Then we'll know. I think there's a lot of blow drying going on, but I forgot that he started out as a mostly bald dude. Antonio Banderas got the good one. He's a mostly bald dude. Yeah. Antonio Banderas got the good one. He's got a good one. Yeah, yeah. Because that's the one that has everybody fucked up.
Starting point is 00:13:30 You're like, no, but Tony Flags. I thought he had. Oh, God. I've never heard Tony Flags. Is that fucking old? Just going literal. Yeah. Tony Flags, baby. Yo, we got tony flags over here looking like rob liberace
Starting point is 00:13:48 you know what i mean mob liberace which also kind of makes sense mob liberace like this reference will make more sense on monday show yeah y'all can listen on monday how are you feeling about travel are you do you have any relatives coming to travel, coming to visit? I am traveling. I'm driving a few hours to a neutral site. Neutral site hotel. Yeah, neutral site hotel, one of my favorite bands. And everyone's sort of testing, and most people aren't.
Starting point is 00:14:23 They don't go out for work or are trying to stay isolated before. So trying to do it, not that many people, though, like six, eight people or something like that. But in terms of full-on traveling and getting up in it, I feel fine in my car, you know, and going somewhere and knowing like I'm in this space where other people have committed to being as healthy and, you know, following guidelines as much as possible. But yeah, I don't know about I don't know about that plane shit. I know some people who are. Yeah, my parents are really, really want to fly out like they just miss, you know, their grandkids so much. out like they just miss you know their grandkids so much and like it would be like canceling christmas the day before christmas like to be like sorry y'all but they yeah we're having some very serious conversations about it's hard yeah it's like the one thing that i'm sure like most
Starting point is 00:15:22 of the earth that is you know in some culture that's like steeped in judeo-christian traditions like around christmas time especially like people like i've never you know like there are people like i've never been away from my my family during christmas never ever and this is not gonna happen this time and that will to be around family like unfortunately could come with a lot of fucked up consequences uh depending on how safe people are and just like the environments they're in but yeah especially now we're like looking at california and all the talks now trying to figure out like what we're gonna do for a lockdown or if we like what kind of restrictions we need to put back in place because they're it's spiking again in parts of LA. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:05 I just forwarded them an article before we recorded that was like people who returned to California from traveling out of state are being asked to quarantine for 14 days. So I mean, them coming from the filthy East Coast. Yeah. I don't know. It's changing constantly, but it does not seem to be getting better. And there's a lot of articles trending now. It's like, is it safe?
Starting point is 00:16:33 Is it not safe? What to do if you have to? Should you put nine masks on or is three the sweet spot? And it's like, oh, this is also terrifying. I also feel like now that this argument did not hold water with them when I brought it up the other day, but the fact that we have light at the end of the tunnel with
Starting point is 00:16:52 a vaccine, it's like well, now at least we know it's not forever, right? Now we know that eventually we'll be able to see each other in the not too distant future. But it's not like May when we were like what the fuck was to and it still feels like that to a certain extent because we're not sure how we're
Starting point is 00:17:12 gonna handle like every dimension of it especially like you know people not being able to work or needing financial assistance but yeah um and finally georgia is trending i'll just read from the ap report on this okay what do they say what do the lying ap have to say president donald trump's long shot bid to overturn president-elect joe biden's victory i like that they talk about it like it's a actual thing suffered major setbacks on friday with news networks calling georgia for the democrat and legal challenges crumbling in three other key states um i like it's it's wild to me that the way the the language that's being used around this is like almost like horse racing this too like making this
Starting point is 00:18:00 into the horse race where it's like yeah and Trump is really lagging in his ability to overturn democracy in America. Like what, how, how are we normalizing that? That's wild. Right. It's like, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:18:14 It's like reporting on like a guy who's saying he's going to fight a bear, like in a cage match. And you're like, you already know you're getting fucked. You dude, you're a, you're a human fighting a grizzly bear like you're done but then it's like who knows he might have something it's like why are we
Starting point is 00:18:30 talking about this why can't we say this poor man is in a cage with a grizz it's a foregone conclusion yeah but there's an yeah there is this like addiction to keeping it like there's suspense because that's the only that's like where the fucking whole like digital media click like the impressions thing is also like fucking up too because i'm sure they see if they just put stuff that's like it's a rap don't worry this guy's fuck you know like or here's all the ways he's wrong or even just yeah i guess it's just that that uh both sides in that that was actually not from the ap that was from the auger's france press perfectly pronounced by me uh and yeah but anyways just the both sidesing of it is it's like a stupid and dangerous and dangerous and i mean it's not stupid and the idea it comes from a good place
Starting point is 00:19:24 but the republicans have weaponized it against you. So you can't just keep O-sizing things when they're using that to get away with basically murder. But anyways, we'll see. Let's go down to Harold Letterman for the tale of the tape, Cage Side. So we're looking at the tape right now. Trump is centering the ring yeah anyway oh man i miss i miss that the bear's got a height and reach advantage advantage um uh the human just has sad fingernails while the grizzly has these knife-like claws and teeth that
Starting point is 00:19:58 would shred a human instantly so yeah i don't know wouldn't mind seeing that fight trump v grizzly i mean the way it's going and like the reports on how he's going deeper and deeper into his own mind to avoid reality uh he may very well be like all right this is what we're gonna do me versus grizzly bear to show people once and for all who they're fucking with. And they're like, I don't, are you sure? Okay. Like our opponents know how to manipulate him. Like he's fairly easy to manipulate. You just like have to appeal to his ego, appeal to his like need to be praised and like his desire to seem like a tough guy.
Starting point is 00:20:39 Like I don't know why nobody within the United States has figured out how to manipulate him yeah well at the same time it's like you also don't want to see like trying to manipulate him for the sake of like it's like no he needs to have the violent crash into the wall of reality like for a moment you know we're just being like don't worry man yeah they fucked you over bro let's go huh all good bro they really fucked you over it's like look bro you lost okay i'm sorry you fucking lost yeah no i'm just saying manipulate him into fighting a grizzly bear oh oh oh right oh then loki i would be like yeah ivanka come on do your
Starting point is 00:21:16 thing dad if you do it then i'll have a career uh all right that is gonna do it for this week first week of the Biden elect administration I don't know how you even say what I was just trying to say we hope you guys are doing alright out there be kind to yourselves
Starting point is 00:21:39 be kind to each other, wear a mask stay inside, wash your hands don't do nothing about white supremacy. We will talk to you all on Monday. Bye. Bye.
