Starting point is 00:00:00 Kay hasn't heard from her sister in seven years. I have a proposal for you. Come up here and document my project. All you need to do is record everything like you always do. What was that? That was live audio of a woman's nightmare. Can Kay trust her sister or is history repeating itself? There's nothing dangerous about what you're doing.
Starting point is 00:00:18 They're just dreams. Dream Sequence is a new horror thriller from Blumhouse Television, iHeartRadio, and Realm. Listen to Dream Sequence on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Do you ever wonder where your favorite foods come from? Like what's the history behind bacon-wrapped hot dogs? Hi, I'm Eva Longoria. Hi, I'm Maite Gomez-Rejon. Our podcast, Hungry for History, is back.
Starting point is 00:00:45 And this season, we're taking an even bigger bite out of the most delicious food and its history. Seeing that the most popular cocktail is the margarita, followed by the mojito from Cuba, and the piña colada from Puerto Rico. Listen to Hungry for History on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. How do you feel about biscuits? Hi, I'm Akilah Hughes, and I'm so excited about my new podcast, Rebel Spirit, where I head back to my hometown in Kentucky and try to convince my high school to change their racist mascot, the Rebels, into something everyone in the South loves, the biscuits. I was a lady rebel. Like, what does that even mean? It's right here in black and white and prints. It's bigger than a flag or mascot.
Starting point is 00:01:29 Listen to Rebel Spirit on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. In California during the summer of 1975, within the span of 17 days and less than 90 miles, two women did something no other woman had done before, try to assassinate the President of the United States. One was the protege of Charles Manson. 26-year-old Lynette Fromm, nickname Squeaky. The other, a middle-aged housewife working undercover for the FBI. Identified by police as Sarah Jean Moore. The story of one strange and violent summer,

It's night time, and that means it's time for the Night Geist with Michael Zriton.
Starting point is 00:02:16 Ziton. Who wrote, uh, Dress Park. Anyway, hell yeah. That's what happens when you have me, Miles G, on the MIC. I'm joined by Anna Hosni, eh? And Dan L. Good man. That's me. You're a good man.
Starting point is 00:02:31 Not enough people tell you that. Thank you. Not enough people tell you that. You're right. You're a good reason. Yeah, because it's a lie. He's an evil human being, and he loves Doughboys, and not this show, which is the number one show in the Western Hemisphere. So, yes, let's take a look at what is trending.
Starting point is 00:02:49 And some of these things I know about. Some of these things I have no idea about. One thing I do know about is that Boosie Badass got in some trouble because he was wearing, look, he was rocking a Kappa sweatshirt at the Rockets game. What? Yes, and this is the thing. Many members of the historical black Greek organization were not happy about it. And then he started going on live on Instagram, trying to do the shimmy. And, you know, many people were, it was just, it was a light.
Starting point is 00:03:17 So that's why Twitter was all talking about Boosie. Okay. That's what happened. That's what happened. That's the story. Do not mess around with these fraternities. There was a lot of fraternity members, sorority sisters. They were all in the mentions.
Starting point is 00:03:28 Some people were threatening him. Other people were like, y'all ain't gonna do shit. But again, fun to see. And a little bit of comedy from Pussy himself. Here's something I don't know about. Let's talk about it. Mike Leach hired by Mississippi State ahead of the Egg Bowl? Oh, I literally was just looking at
Starting point is 00:03:46 that on my trending as well. I know, Anna, you're a huge Mississippi State football fan. How do you feel about this? Because you're not in the top 10. Yeah, you know when you're not in the top 10
Starting point is 00:04:01 and you don't really know. It means if you're not in the top 10, you might be 11 or after. Think about that. Okay. Well, I think I've clearly scared you into not speaking. I literally haven't. I don't even know what football is. This is the number one trending topic on Google and number two on Twitter.
Starting point is 00:04:21 But I think this just goes to show you how college football is a religion for many people. Most certainly. And it doesn't matter. For me, you know what my religion is? 90s sample-based hip-hop and blunts. Yay! Had a feeling it was sneaky in there. Go ahead.
Starting point is 00:04:40 Well, no, go on. I was just going to say, all of the highlights of the story just seem to be things that are strictly related to college football. Everything about it just has something to do with like the whole headline doesn't read as anything interesting unless you know who all of the players are and what they're talking about. Yep. So. I mean, I thought the SEC was a Securities and Exchange Commission. No, I know what the SEC is. OK, now here's something that that dan you can explain to me
Starting point is 00:05:06 happily what's pokeman direct pokeman direct so pokemon direct is how the nintendo company announces new things for their games and intent direct is what they attach to the end of whatever they're announcing nintendo direct pokemon direct mario direct sure something like that that's the naming convention for what like a full-on event? It's more like, well, this is how they do it now. Instead of announcing games and things at E3, they'll do these kind of online presentations. They're more like the-
Starting point is 00:05:33 Oh, it's like a live stream? Yeah, it's a live stream. If you're familiar with Apple's WWDC- Yeah, yeah, loved it. Loved it. For sure, where they just announce all that stuff, and it's like a tight room. Hold on, what was your favorite WWDC?
Starting point is 00:05:43 Say the year on three. One, two, three, 2012. Oh, interesting. You're sick. Get out. Anyway, so at this Nintendo, or at this Pokemon Direct, they announced the next expansion for,
Starting point is 00:05:54 or rather the first expansion for Pokemon Sword and Shield. This is only important because, or I should say, it's up in the Twittersphere because they added 200 new Pokemon to, or they added back 200 Pokemon to the game that players or certain haters on the internet were like, why aren't all the Pokemon in the game? There needs to be all 500 plus Pokemon in the game at all times.
Starting point is 00:06:16 Yeah, I agree. Okay. Well, then there you go. You're part of Dexit, which was the Pokedex related. Yes. You can just Google Dexit. Wait. What is Sword and Shield?
Starting point is 00:06:24 Is that different than the Game Boy game? Well, I mean, that's the new- Are there new games since then that I've not heard of? You know, it's funny that there are. So instead of being colors or ruby, sapphire kind of thing, they've now moved on to Sword and Shield, and that is the newest version of Pokemon for the Nintendo Switch. I was talking to Her Majesty recently.
Starting point is 00:06:41 I didn't know she played Pokemon back in the day. Nice. Everyone did when you were young. If you were of that era. I was not young. I was never young. If you were of that era, you got into it. Like, I got into it, and I have no interest in anything.
Starting point is 00:06:52 Which one did you? So you played the Game Boy ones? I played Game Boy. I played the, you know, on- Game Boy Advance? On computer, on TV with the- Wii? I don't know any of these things.
Starting point is 00:07:04 Pokemon Snap? Game Cube? I don't fucking know. I wish I didn't say anything. And then I played Game Boy. Game Boy I played a lot and then I also played with the cards. Oh shit. Oh wow. I was like really into it. I was in elementary school. I was like challenging kids
Starting point is 00:07:18 at recess and then one girl would always be like, I don't play unless I have those. What are those little like the... Slammers. The little figurines? No have those. What are those little like the... Slammers. The little figurines? No, no. They were like little like gems that you use to play where you can like put them on each card. Oh.
Starting point is 00:07:32 I forget what it was called, but one girl would always, her excuse was, I don't play unless I have those. And no one ever had those at... The real Pokemon card players know what I'm saying. Real Pokemon heads know. Yeah, blow up dimensions.
Starting point is 00:07:43 Sound off of the Reddit channel. Blow up dimensions. Shout out TDZ Reddit. What is the whole thing that was, there's blue and red and then yellow or some shit. So those are the first three versions. And then the only difference is you have Pikachu walk around with you. Well, that was the big difference in yellow. But basically what they just denoted was that like there was different Pokemon in the different
Starting point is 00:08:01 games. And to collect them all, you had to either trade with somebody else or get both games and play them together on one machine. They just call me Smoke-a-mon, because you've got to cash them all, all the bulls. Okay, next up. What is her name? Gizlain or Gizlain? Gizlain.
Starting point is 00:08:19 I think it's like Gizlain. Yeah, but it's one of those soft Gs. I'm sure it's like aislaine Maxwell it's a very fancy name it's like a French maybe it must be something like that because I don't know
Starting point is 00:08:29 any Gislaines in my family she's trending because there's like multiple stories not only is the Epstein video footage a story that is
Starting point is 00:08:39 trending because the CCTV footage of Epstein's first quote unquote suicide attempt was uh oh deleted somehow because it's a cover-up. And he was blamed on user error. But yes, Maxwell is trending because, A, there is a new picture showing her and Bill Clinton on the Lolita Express.
Starting point is 00:09:03 Whoa, you hate to see it. You'll love to see it. Yeah, I mean, you love that no one is taking this seriously. And then also the FBI announced that they are investigating her for her role in the trafficking ring. And then there was this other headline that was like, Ghislaine is not hiding in a safe house. So I don't know.
Starting point is 00:09:23 I couldn't be bothered to read much. I mean, I got to imagine she's next on the people who are going to all of a sudden commit suicide list. You think that she'll mysteriously die of suicide? I don't think so. She seems too cocky in a weird way. Just all her images, she's like, dare me. That one photo at the In-N-Out in Universal City, that was posed. It really was.
Starting point is 00:09:44 So fake. Try me. I'm reading a book at In-N-Out in Universal City. That was like posed. It really was. So fake. Try me. I'm reading a book at In-N-Out. I would love that. That was the first sign we should have been like, this is fake. I don't know. Oh, fake.
Starting point is 00:09:54 Wait, fake isn't what? No one's reading a book at In-N-Out. First of all, white people don't read books at In-N-Out. We don't read at all. And if they do, no, yes. They listen to book on tape now. I've seen white people read books. That's a terrible stereotype, Dan, and you should not perpetuate that. You caught me. Yeah, I don't read at all. And if they do, no, yes. They listen to book on tape now. I've seen white people read books. Damn it. That's a terrible stereotype, Dan, and you should not perpetuate that.
Starting point is 00:10:07 You caught me. Yeah, I don't know. The whole thing just stinks like shit. And when you add on top of it the fact, again, we talk about this all the time, the number of powerful people that would be implicated in this, and if they were really brought to task, what would that do? Yeah. But I guess, again, it's like that meme.
Starting point is 00:10:24 It's the one thing that the left and the right can agree on. Yeah, exactly. Is that Jeffrey Epstein did not kill himself. Bingo. At least we have that. We do have that. And then, for some reason, Tom Steyer is trending right now on Twitter because, oh, he has qualified for the January debate with a day to go.
Starting point is 00:10:44 He popped in like one poll. Yeah, it was a surge in a Fox News poll in South Carolina and Nevada. I mean, you know, great. Honestly, why don't you and Bloomberg get together and just come up off some of your billions and actually help the fucking country? Or if you really give a fuck, say, I will flood the airwaves for whoever wins on their behalf. I'll use my money for good rather than to be like, I need to protect
Starting point is 00:11:10 the billionaire class. Engage. Huh. Anyway. Good times, guys. If only some of that money could go somewhere helpful. Yeah. But it will. Like to my bank account. For more Pokemon cards. But it will. Like to my bank account for more Pokemon cards. Oh, right.
Starting point is 00:11:28 Anyway, thank you so much for joining me on this nightly update. Thank you for having us. Oh, I was talking to listeners. Oh. We'll talk after this, Dan. My bad. No, but thank you. Thank you, Anna. Thank you, everybody. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:11:43 What's that song by Alanis Morissette? Thank you, Anna. Thank you, everybody. Thank you. What's that song by Alanis Morissette? Thank you, Hannah Tann. Thank you. Thank you. Because she thinks it's a whole other list of things she's thanking. Am I the only one that's old? No, I'm sure if I heard it, I'd be like, oh, yeah, that's right. I'm going to start back.
Starting point is 00:11:58 Well, with that said, good night to you all, and good luck. We'll see you in the morrow with The Usual. Okay, bye. Kay hasn't heard from her sister in seven years.
