Hello, the internet, and welcome to this episode of trentford and son that is
courtesy of gotham city mayor on this yeah i am jack that is miles and these well these are some
of the things that are trending this afternoon wow the the special master is trending yeah
the title i would have given myself as a three-year-old uh yeah yeah yeah
i'm a special master oh really of what so generally so a judge aka trump appointee and
federalist society alum just said that the i mean over the weekend said that the doj needed to be
supervised by a special master before continuing its criminal investigation into documents trump
had taken i think that's vaguely what it what it says i'm i'm no legal expert here and that is a
problem jack i've been doing a podcast for about five years so at this point i am a legal expert and
what that means is that this judge hasn't joined the department of justice from using any of the
materials in a criminal investigation but will allow it to rock for i guess security reasons
like national security yeah but the whole thing is it's so like i mean without reading the text
every single like lawyer who has been watching this is like
this is not really like it this is like a lawyer being like hey homie i'm gonna hook you up and
use some really weird reasoning that is wildly inconsistent wild yeah yeah this is based on i
have read some lawyers uh analyses and it is being called egregious and unprecedented and oblivious by such progressive bastions as a war on terror alum who helped with the Clinton investigation into the Lewinsky affair. the fact that explanations of what they've done include words like enjoined and shit you know
stuff that people like it's it's a lot of legal stuff and the the broad implications are very
authoritarian right right and well i think just more than anything it's it's just like slowing things down because like it's also presupposing that
trump can actually claim executive privilege even when he's a private citizen right so like
what's being argued is like but already the basis of this stuff is legally doesn't this like already
goes up against like what is out there legally uh so the doj is probably like a lot of people
are saying like well they either got to try and fight this or just let it happen to try and you know hopefully just let things go
along because the one thing is the doj said they weren't if they were going to indict it wouldn't
happen before the election so it just if they want to say fine go have your fucking guy look
through we already saw everything and it's not like this and also that person who would even uh look over
the records would also need to have a high enough security clearance so that isn't doesn't i don't
know i think most people are like well then it can't just be some like sentient maga hat who
goes through it but look stranger things have happened and he's in a very very um uh favorable
region in the state in florida yeah so you, there's plenty of judges that might be like, yeah, I don't know, maybe
kick that up to the Supreme Court.
Actually, there is stage direction to read the entire decision in a high pitched voice.
Yeah, I mean, you know, he was president.
The logic she used is actually pretty wild.
So, you know, all legal decisions are based on precedent and what was ruled in previous rulings.
And people are like, there's the Watergate one.
All you need to know is there is a Watergate one that is about the president and his right to, after leaving office, be like, no, don't look at those.
Oh, don't look at those.
Like, no, don't look at those.
Oh, don't look at those.
And instead, she used one where someone had their... Like a private person had their documents seized by the IRS.
And the argument was...
In that case, the argument was that the IRS was holding these documents
that this person needed for their livelihood.
Like they were holding on to tax documents.
And they were like, oh, I'm a tax...
I'm a CPA or something, so you need
to give those back to me. So it presupposes
that Trump
needs to get these back,
but she's not even arguing that they need to be
returned to Trump.
It's all very
bendy,
drunken logic.
It's a mess. The biggest biggest thing too is they because this shit
was filed like two weeks later they've already reviewed everything right so it's just like i
don't even know what this is serving everyone's like what is the point of this and i think that's
where people were just watching how you know uh this kind of partisanship will seep into
the the judges that are on the bench and you can find a way to be like i don't know maybe that's
not a law i don't know man look they i got a lot of money to be up here the federalist society it
being a move towards authoritarianism because i think they can't interview witnesses based on
what they've seen it yeah for the purposes of the criminal investigation.
So that does kind of tie their hands a little bit.
but it does just,
it's all,
you know,
these are the,
this is the federalist society that just,
you know,
instituted forced birth and that Trump,
you know,
it's just all,
they're,
they're all working towards this authoritarian world
where a minority of rich, white, conservative Christians
get to do wildly unpopular things and stay in power.
It seems to be the end game.
Hey, look, like we said, you just don't know.
You just don't know what's going to happen.
We don't know. Jerry Seinfeld, speaking of, we don't know. What's going to happen? We don't know.
Jerry Seinfeld, speaking of, we don't know.
What's going on?
Check out my drip.
Yes, I was hoping Jerry Seinfeld would stop by for this.
You know I did a collab with Kif.
One of the foremost guests on 420 Day Fiance, Jerry Seinfeld has joined us to
comment on a spread
of four photographs.
I've seen four of them. There's actually a whole spread!
I'm wearing all kinds of stuff!
I got a black denim outfit on! I got new
hair plugs! I'm wearing Air Max 95s!
Which is when the mother of my
next girlfriend was actually born!
Oh no, Jerry.
So Jerry Seinfeld is in a magazine dressed
like pete davidson's little brother like he's like he's so many fucking layers he's dressed so young
um yeah i hope i'm not because i know what one of his voicemails i remember one of the i i went on a bit of a dive
at one point to be like is jerry seinfeld like a bad person um and there there was this piece
where like he was talking about how his teenage daughter was like weird because she didn't want
to like date boys or something and now he he seems like he's trying
to maybe his daughter's probably like in her 20s now but it feels like one way of people deal with
middle age is by doing something like this and it's it's depressing it's dark yeah i i mean what's
i'm like yo the outfits are not bad. I'm not going to lie.
I think he looks great.
I like one of those four.
No, he didn't look great.
I think, Jerry, I think this is great.
I don't see what the big deal is.
He looked like a melting piece of ice cream in a really good fleece.
I think people are jealous.
Okay.
Yeah, but I don't know.
I mean, yeah, go ahead.
His New York Mets wallabies, very New York.
I'm not sure that's how he would normally dress, go ahead. The, his New York Mets wallabies, very New York, you know, I'm not sure that's how you,
he would normally dress,
but whatever.
I mean,
the jokes are pretty consistent.
Everyone's saying,
I think,
uh,
Christian Maguchi man was almost like,
he looks like he's trying to like look cool to her six,
her,
his 17 year old girlfriend's friends kind of vibe.
Everyone had some variation on that since for people who don't know,
uh,
Jerry Seinfeld
at the peak of Seinfeld
when he was in his
30s, I think mid to late 30s
was dating a high school student.
So what? It was an internship!
She wanted to know about writing!
Yeah.
Wow.
It seems like they started
with, he wears jeans and sneakers.
And those are cool.
Like his dad's sneakers are cool now.
But he was always rocking kicks in Seinfeld though.
Right.
That's what I'm saying.
So they're taking that as a starting point
and being like,
okay, Seinfeld is a fashion icon.
Yeah.
I mean, he would always be like in complex about be like yo low-key jerry
seinfeld sneakerhead blah blah look at all these like kicks he wore during seinfeld but every time
the articles would be like you know we're not gonna comment on the ankles up right of the outfit
but yes he was always wearing something and like he's wearing air max 95 he's wearing like air
trainer sc is like the bo jackson's he's wearing white on white air force ones uh he is wearing a bomber jacket and in one
of them which like a high school varsity jacket basically which not that that's you gotta fit in
you gotta fit in jack you gotta fit in that that takes you over the line to looking like you're undercover in the least impressive 21 Jump Street sting operation ever enacted.
Let's take a quick break.
We'll be right back.
I'm Jess Casavetto, executive producer of the hit Netflix documentary series Dancing for the Devil, the 7M TikTok cult. And I'm Clea Gray, former member of 7M Films and Shekinah Church. And

When you think of Mexican culture, you think of avocado, mariachi, delicious cuisine, and of course, lucha libre.
It doesn't get more Mexican than this. Lucha libre is known globally because it is much more
than just a sport and much more than just entertainment. Lucha libre is a type of
storytelling. It's a dance. It's tradition. It's culture. This is Lucha Libre Behind the Mask,

I'm Dr. Laurie Santos, host of the Happiness Lab podcast.
As the U.S. elections approach,
it can feel like we're angrier and more divided than ever.
But in a new, hopeful season of my podcast,
I'll share what the science really shows,
that we're surprisingly more united than most people think.
We all know something is wrong in our culture, in our politics,
and that we need to do better and that we can do better.
With the help of Stanford psychologist Jamil Zaki.
It's really tragic. If cynicism were a pill, it'd be a poison.
We'll see that our fellow humans, even those we disagree with, are more generous than we assume.
My assumption, my feeling, my hunch is that a lot of us are actually looking for a way to disagree and still be in relationships with each other.
All that on the Happiness Lab.

here on MTV's official
Challenge podcast. So join us every week
as we break down episodes of the challenge 40 battle of the eras listen to mtv's official
challenge podcast on the iheart radio app apple podcast or wherever you get your podcasts and we're back and jake paul is going to fight anderson the spider silva yes but
anderson silva cannot use his storied muay thai technique or his left hand uh yeah he's going to
have one hand tied behind his back this is i think and yeah anderson silva i would probably fight anderson silva if he couldn't kick me
i'm not gonna lie you know i feel like i mean he's a legend uh you know but i think he's getting on
in age and i think the biggest thing is like just for it to be a boxing match is a little bit you're
not facing the same kind of anderson silva that you would in like the octagon he's called the spider so that's just like yeah the spiders are notorious for being hard to escape
from because they have a lot of legs i i don't know anything about mma i didn't i knew that i
knew the name anderson silva so i was like wait a second is jake paul gonna fight somebody
impressive that there might be a chance that he could lose
and that he hasn't like studied every single angle to realize like he has a 90 chance of winning and
then i realized oh no it's jake paul like the most carefully managed fighting career where he always
like hides a massive advantage that he has in there, but is, you know, people are like,
Oh,
it's kind of cool though.
So,
uh,
Silva's a legend,
you know,
so it could be a good fight.
And I mean,
this is definitely like someone who has a legit like resume,
you know,
like he fought Ben Askren and he fought like Teron Woodley.
Like he's like,
those aren't like Anderson Sylvia.
Like,
Oh,
that motherfucker.
Yeah.
He had a career,
but many years ago. Um, and also in a different sport yeah exactly you know it's like i challenge uh
shack to nba jam right you know it's like well okay that's kind of a little i mean like it's
not really one-to-one but i think what's interesting is just kind of like looking like you said he looks for people that are like they'll take the money and who knows
what else after that but it's clear anderson silver like he's been doing a lot of like
exhibition boxing so he might need the money it's just kind of i'm sure you there's probably
a documentary waiting to be made about like this string of fights that he's had and like what these
people what kind of shape these people are in or what they were told or what
they thought they were going to get.
We'll see.
Look, Jake, he knows
what he's doing because whenever he does these,
he creates a thing called, everybody
pays $60 and hopefully you can watch him
get knocked out this time.
Right.
And these fighters are getting paid.
Yeah.
I'm not going to do it.
I will wait for the Twitter recap videos. Yeah. I'm not going to do it. I'm assuming.
I'm not going to do it.
I will wait for the Twitter recap videos.
Yeah.
No, definitely.
That is one thing that I can be proud to say.
I've never paid for a Jake Paul fight.
If he gets knocked out, that will be everywhere immediately.
Yeah.
I will be thrilled and watching it in slow motion and from different angles.
Kim K is trending.
New photo spread.
Interview magazine.
Seinfeld and Kim Kardashian in the same day?
What is this?
I mean, we are blessed.
It's 2007!
Yeah, she got a new photo spread
in an interview magazine
where her fucking eyebrows...
She has a blonde like farrah
fosset feathered wig on with blonde eyebrows and she just looks fucking creepy and a lot of people
are just like blaming her because you know how she looks it's like the american dream but she's
like on the cover it's interesting uh the outfit because she has a men's jock supporter on yeah
and she's like sagging jeans with just enough
butt well that's her whole butt hanging out uh because it's like typical like break the internet
kind of fashion uh we've evolved a bit from like the racist imagery from that photo spread uh to
this one and i don't know cool i yeah why why do we okay it says american dream and you have like this woman who's like
dulled any semblance of her ethnicity to look like this like aryan doll and i'm like yeah that
might be the american dream is just to shove it all away to try and look as aryan as possible
is she also trying to do like a blue collar? Is that the idea?
Yeah, all denim.
And then her butt is not stylishly hanging out.
She is mooning the camera with a pair of jeans.
So denim jacket, denim jeans.
With an athletic supporter like you said.
So that seemed to me to suggest that she's trying to do like a
play on plumbers track i don't know because then she's like in a locker room in another one
oh it has like a spiked choker on and i don't know i really don't know but i will say if you
need an idea of how like in the photo with her butt out it reminds you of like you ever seen
somebody pee with their pants down at a urinal seeing somebody what that's just the cleanest way to do it okay
see and i i thought it was a bit that one time we were at the airport and i caught you doing that
but that's that's not most people keep the yeeks in the pants when they urinate at a urinal yeah
because they're scared to show off the good, I think.
Well, okay.
Never mind.
You might be the wrong person to have this discussion with.
What I will say is that's what it evokes for me.
Yeah, yeah.
For sure.
Anyways, best of luck to that young woman.
Kim K.
Fentanyl is trending.
Some good news from Joni Ernst.
Tomorrow's episode, we're talking about how the Republicans don't know what to talk about. Yeah. So Joni Ernst. Tomorrow's episode, we're talking about how the Republicans
don't know what to talk about.
So Joni Ernst just fired
the senator from Iowa who famously
was like, yeah, I'm down for immigrants
if they're like blonde hair and blue eyed from
Scandinavia, like Norwegians or some shit.
She tweeted
enough fentanyl to
completely wipe out entire cities
in the US has been seized at the
southern border that's it and everyone's like what is the take here right that they're doing their
job well that's always that's always a tricky issue right is that if they talk about this
it makes it seem scary like oh there's drugs coming across the border but then it makes it
seem like biden
is doing his job at the border and i think biden has been like what they won't tell you is i'm um
so i don't know where she's coming from on this i think it's meant to say like biden's leadership
equates a ramping up of drugs coming into the country because of his perceived weakness i think
is the underpinnings of something like that.
Which is like, you see what happens? He's in office
and now we got fentanyl to kill whole
cities coming over the border
or trying to because they
did their job. But it's also very like
victim blamey.
They're smuggling the shit
into here. They're like,
what the fuck is Joe Biden doing?
Unless they know something, well, we're inviting them to bring that shit over right otherwise i'm not sure
what uh you mean here joni but yeah i think it's a tried and true fear-mongering tactic that at this
point just it's starting to get real old yeah they're just trying to find something they're
just fishing. Yeah.
These are consistent.
14th Amendment is trending.
What's going on?
We have somebody who was actually prevented from running for office because of the 14th Amendment.
Because this Cowboys for Trump founder, who is also the county commissioner in Otero County, New Mexico.
I remember talking about them, Cowboys for Trump.
Yeah, well, the judge said,
you're actually removing you from office
because of your participation on January 6th.
The description of this is from Vice about his trial.
Quote, Griffin had no lawyer
and defended himself in a bench trial last month.
In a 49-page ruling, the judge concluded
that Griffin's testimony characterizing the events and
violence of January six has quote evolved over time in this litigation and is
fundamentally inconsistent.
End quote.
The judge determined that January six was in fact an insurrection and that
Griffin's participation in the event disqualified him from holding any public
office.
Griffin has been previously tried and convicted for his part to participation
in the insurrection.
Still,
he says he doesn't regret
going to the capitol i love the changing calling out the changing nature of the description because
that does seem to they do seem to switch between oh yeah like let's go kill some people too it was
just a very enthusiastic well yeah there's always something like that they get in front they're like i'm just
a lowly stupid person your honor i didn't know what i was doing when i brought weapons there
help me and then like when they get when they talk to marjorie taylor green like on a fucking
podcast they're like yeah man they think i won't fucking do it again. I'll fucking do it three times. And you're like, what the fuck? Blood.
Ah.
Ah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Okay.
All right.
All right.
Anyways, I went to a county fair in a tri-county fair in like, it was in Bishop, California.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You know.
Up there.
Up there. Up there.
Agricultural town.
bear agricultural town and it had a lot of let's go brandon uh you know trump flag waving going on um at the uh demolition derby that i went to hell yeah but it didn't so i i can give a
useless report that i feel like the new york times would be interested in that uh the the mc who's this 60 year old guy who i i'm not sure what his
what his deal was what his deal was yeah i don't know if he was like a radio dj or something but
right he um kept referring to women as females uh oh hell yeah well i'm like man hey i was at i was at a thing a couple weeks back demolition derby and
it was won by a female and she i know i turned to my wife and i went what but what one of the
things he said was i'm not gonna start any let's go brandon chance not going to start them. And it seemed like he was ready to be like,
so let's hear the Let's Go Brandon chants,
and nobody started them.
So I feel like I would qualify to be a person
who recently attended a demolition derby
in a New York Times article
where they get an anecdote about
what it's like to be this close.
Yeah, you're at a liberal coffee shop.
Right, I was at a liberal coffee shop right i was at a
liberal coffee shop and recently overheard people saying that dark brandon is just the first step
in the takedown of mega america but yeah i just like that it's i but that tweet would be some
like lib tweet that's like was just at a maga monster truck rally and they're not even getting up for the let's go brandon cheers blue wave coming yeah exactly
yeah biden's got him right where he wants him oh please uh all right those are some of the
things that are trending on this tuesday september 6th we are back tomorrow with the whole last
episode of the show.
Until then,
be kind to each other.
Be kind to yourselves.
Get the vaccine.
Don't do nothing about white supremacy.
And we will talk
to y'all tomorrow.
Bye.
