Every great player needs a foil.
I know I'll go down in history.
People are talking about women's basketball just because of one single game.
Clark and Reese have changed the way we consume women's sports.
Listen to the making of a rivalry.
Kaitlyn Clark versus Angel Reese on the iHeart on the iheart radio app apple podcast or wherever you
get your podcast presented by elf beauty founding partner of iheart women's sports hello the internet
and welcome to this final trending episode uh of of the year we're as we're calling it trendo babies
ah yes yes yes i am jack that is my old yeah these well these are some of the things that
are trending today on tuesday december 20th we have a full episode coming tomorrow and
that's it all right that's it it's a it's last day of school episode hey we got one foot out
the door we hope look i like i said and if you thought that episode was half-assed wait till you
hear this because what do we how many fucking episodes do we do i don't even know how many
episodes we do a year we forgot that we we had a five-year anniversary recently so people pointed
that out to us so we kind of get caught up in things but anyway shout out to everybody and uh
brian justin becca trisha you know daniel joelle always holding it down guest
hosting yeah yeah appreciate y'all and then let's take a fucking break let's lay down christy
yamaguchi man all the people contributing aka yeah yeah we see you la caroni johnny davis
paul garavita all the greats i see you alicia from boston you know i'm mostly from boston the greatest
regional influence of all aka and uh zeitgang contributors just so mad if we ever if we cross
the city of bean town never yeah never crossing boston town again consistency yeah i wish tatum
could be that consistent anyways uh we're talking about some things that are
trending so nepo babies is trending yeah because new york magazine did a uh nepo babies thing
about people in the entertainment industry who have roots in other people of the entertainment
industry this is obviously a little bit sensitive for me
because a lot of people have suggested that the reason that I was the third string point guard
for the Boston Celtics in 2000 was because my dad was, uh, cause my dad's a basketball coach,
an NBA basketball coach. Uh, and i think there's no truth
to that you know they just needed somebody to suit up exactly you know in the warm-up lines
some people were pointing out i couldn't dribble at all with my left hand and that was nonsense
that's nonsense that was nonsense i was just shooting right-handed layups from the left side because that's just
what i like to do just because keep them off balance yeah doug overton and milt palacio are
what we call fucking haters okay milt miracle milt he hit like a couple half court shots that
year we called a miracle milt one of the greats uh shout out to milt palacio all right uh nepo babies what any did you learn anything in this
this article that took everybody by storm i think well it depends i've caught i guess here's that
the growing up in la this is just like the this is like another language you speak is being literate
and knowing where half of these people are coming from and it's like oh yeah these people's kid
because most like especially growing up that's sort of like currency in like with LA kids
in the Valley, they point out this one school,
like they point out Crossroads and Harvard-Westlake
a lot in this article,
because a lot of the kids go there.
And like those schools are just teeming
with the children, like the progeny of celebrities.
The thing that really caught, that made me go,
was I didn't know that Bobby Cannavale
was married to Sidney Lumet's daughter. That was the one thing I was like, oh, interesting. i didn't know that bobby cannavale was married to sydney lament's daughter
that was the one thing i was like oh interesting i didn't know that connection there with like
lena horn and sydney lament anyway uh yeah other than that i mean all the people like the the first
person on here they have is somebody who's last uh gabriel kane day lewis it's like who who could they be descended from who is this person dan lewis
you talking dan lewis yeah um oh danny yeah yeah danny day but yeah i think it's it's i think
an interesting way for people to realize just how you know how it all works but i think like a lot
of people on twitter point out like blow out these charts for like every industry.
So you can really like,
we get it,
you know,
hot people fuck.
And then their kids are hot and go to rich kids schools for those kids. Or the kids are the kids of studio people and end up being the development
people.
And they all can make each other famous.
But what about like banking or journalism?
Right?
Yeah.
I want to see those. I want to see those.
I want to see those.
This is,
this is everywhere.
It's pretty wild.
This one's just fun to look at.
Yeah,
it is fun to look at.
We'll,
we'll link off to it,
but it's,
uh,
it's all stuff that I,
I think I mostly knew,
or I just am too old to know who the young people are.
Right.
Um,
I think both anyways,
uh,
Wells Fargo is trending um yeah and they've been
fined they're always getting fined like fucking every year it's like in the billions and we talk
about this a lot how companies they run afoul of the law but they know that they're going to get
fined because these regulators will never actually fine them any amount that would like harm their business so it's just the cost of doing business um but they've
been ordered to pay 3.7 billion dollars for what they call it's rampant mismanagement and widespread
illegal activity on auto loans mortgages and bank accounts oh my goodness they've been charged with
unlawful surprise overdraft fees whoa whoa really uh
wrongfully foreclosed on homes and probably denied mortgage modifications illegally repossessed
vehicles this is like if because this you know they've been busted doing this for years now
and every time they're like we've taken a hard look at ourselves in the mirror and then they just come
back and get caught doing the same shit over again it's really it's a joke their their mission
statement must be this right because it can't you can't be this consistent by accident every banking
every like banking institution this country's mission statement is the fuck they gonna do right that's basically the ethos and like and i think it really is it had it everybody wins when this happens because wells
fargo is like oh man yeah y'all really punished us you know and people can be like yeah that's right
and all these politicians can pat themselves on the back and be like this is a massive 3.7 billion ain't shit to fucking wells fargo and
it's like wild too that i think a lot of people point out especially like in the social justice
areas about like the like logic here is like we'll pay back what you may have messed around with
where like other people who shoplift are like oh you're going to jail for five years
yeah you're done your your life is over yeah your family
is fucked so like let me fucking like i want to see some shit where they're like oh my god that's
so sorry yeah like what are you gonna do um like let me just look what was fargo 2021
was 82.4 billion so they i mean it's not good for them yeah man
what was that 3.9
oh shit you're right
oh don't hurt us don't hurt us US government
gosh darn it
are you serious
golly
that's almost a whole percentage
that's almost
5 freaking percent
of our freaking revenue.
That's going to hurt.
I'm the CEO.
The bonus that I give myself
is probably going to go from
$25 million to $10 million this year.
Are you serious with me here?
Or I have to obscure it with
stock options and buybacks to get that money.
I can't just do it.
Fuck, Elizabeth Warren. Why are you doing this to me? But again, it's like, options and buybacks to get that money like i can't just do it oh you know fuck elizabeth warren
why are you doing this to me but again it's like can we i get that you need to find these people
but like it's not it's not a it's not a countermeasure it's not dissuading my best guess
is that they are just the one that is so bad at doing it that they keep getting caught and like that the
authorities are on to them but the reason they keep doing it so consistently is this is the
business model of all the banks as you mentioned so like you can't just stop doing this because
this is your entire business model but you kind of can't keep doing it because they're watching
you and they're
like on your ass and they're like,
yo,
we keep catching you.
Please stop doing this.
And they're like,
stop doing what our entire business model.
And yeah,
so they're just,
they're just getting caught over and over.
Yeah.
Look,
so it's not like they're doing anything different.
There's some shit worse at it.
Some change gets shook loose from the couch cushions,
man.
Like whatever that's.
Yeah.
They just keep it moving again.
Every,
every business knows because regulators are, know governed by the very politicians who they
donate to turns out those regulations in turn aren't really that you know they're not really
protecting whatever we've you heard this a hundred times yeah uh twitter files are trending yeah more snooze heard yeah just i don't know if the fbi
then the doj when trump was the president uh or say they cared about 100 biden's dick pics or
something again so yeah just the amount of energy behind this non-story i mean i get i understand like that
they're reporting stuff but in the course of looking at you're like this looks like moderation
and also like is the scandal that it was the government and if so then joe biden wasn't the
president what what are you trying to say here what do you what outrage are you trying to
manufacture here yeah um deep state deep state deep state deep state when it comes
whispering through the forest a storm is to come to tomorrow's episode uh kiddult
yeah trending it's like a cnbc thing i saw it just said um that the headline is adults are
buying toys for themselves and it's the biggest source of growth for the industry.
I said,
okay,
I kind of,
I believe that.
They talk about how that these sort of kidults,
there are two things keeping the toy industry afloat right now,
inflation and a consumer group known as kidults.
These kids at heart are responsible for one fourth of all toy sales annually.
But this group starts at 12 and up.
So teenagers, I'm like, what the fuck are you talking about i thought like you were gonna be like yo motherfuckers 25 and up
or like i'll say 18 right let's actually define an adult like so at age 12 when these kids should
be going out and getting a job yeah to support family, working the fields. They're still playing with fucking toys?
Playing with Legos and Pokemon cards?
Legos.
The heck's going on, America?
So, yeah, I mean, it's interesting, like, an interesting article to just talk about.
I think, obviously, as you also have people who are, like, not having kids or realizing maybe they don't want to or that they'll never be able to afford a home. Yeah, fuck, you might start buying
toys or other shit that you're interested in.
It's just interesting when I see that headline
and that group starts at 12 years old.
The only Lego they should be
talking about is saying,
Lego my hand, mom, I gotta go to work
to make
money for the family. Lego my hand,
officer, I'm stealing
bread for the family. Let go of my hand, officer. I'm stealing bread for the family.
Let go of my social security tax, IRS.
I'm going to put food on the frigging
little tykes table that I have
in my fake McDonald's I work at.
Anyways, let's take a quick break
and we'll be right back to talk Pusha T,
2023 movies,
and we're going to do a talk Pusha T, 2023 movies.
And we're going to do a little test to see how quickly we can get this episode
that you're listening to banned.
Hey, I'm Gianna Pradente.
And I'm Jemay Jackson-Gadsden.
We're the hosts of Let's Talk Offline,
a new podcast from LinkedIn News and iHeart Podcasts.
When you're just starting out in your career, you have a lot of questions like,
how do I speak up when I'm feeling overwhelmed?
Or can I negotiate a higher salary if this is my first real job?
Girl, yes.
Each week, we answer your unfiltered work questions.
Think of us as your work besties you can turn to for advice.
And if we don't know the answer, we bring in experts who do, like resume specialist Morgan
Sanner. The only difference between the person who doesn't get the job and the person who gets
the job is usually who applies. Yeah, I think a lot about that quote. What is it like you miss
100% of the shots you never take? Yeah, rejection is scary, but it's better than you rejecting
yourself. Together, we'll share
what it really takes to thrive in the early years of your career without sacrificing your sanity
or sleep. Listen to Let's Talk Offline on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you

I'm Keri Champion, and this is season four of Naked Sports,
where we live at the intersection of sports and culture.
Up first, I explore the making of a rivalry, Kaitlyn Clark versus Angel Reese.
I know I'll go down in history. People are talking about women's basketball just because of one single game.
Every great player needs a foil.
I ain't really near them boys. I just come here to play basketball every single day, and that's what I focus on.
From college to the pros, Clark and Reese have changed the way we consume women's sports.
Angel Reese is a joy to watch.
She is unapologetically black.
I love her.
What exactly ignited this fire?
Why has it been so good for the game?
And can the fanfare surrounding these two supernovas be sustained?
This game is only going to get better because the talent is getting better. This new season will cover all things sports and culture. And we're back and push a t is no longer the president of yay's good music no it's a lot of
people think he did an interview recently and i think maybe like uh are you still cool with that
fucking anti-semite man and he basically is like no i'm not the i'm no longer like running that
shit he basically was
talking about how he's been having a disagree like the sounds like their relationship is
constant disagreements because pusha t is only willing to go so like he's like i care about my
own shit and i will never do something else for somebody else that i don't want to do so that
leads to fucking tension between us and then when they asked about when he went on info wars pusha t
said it's beyond it's beyond that.
It's nothing to tap dance around.
It's wrong, period.
But to me, it's just me and him having a difference of opinion yet again, because we've done had
this for years.
He's not speaking to me now.
If you ain't with it, you ain't down.
And I ain't with it.
I'm not budging on that.
I'm not with it.
I heard about this new shit on InfoWars.
I don't know.
It's something that sort of just tells me he's not well. At the same time,
I will say that it's going to places
where it's no way to move around it.
So, long way to
say I can no longer
co-sign or be affiliated
with this thing,
which a lot of people are asking. And then the
other part of it, too, is he talks about how he
loves still living rent-free
in Aubrey Drake Graham's head ever since that wonderful battle other part of it too was he talks about how he loves still living rent-free and aubrey drake
graham's head ever since that wonderful battle uh what was that like fucking four years ago or
something oh really what do you say they were asking him like because they're like yo you know
it sounds like he's still like hitting you with subliminals and some of his albums and he's like
yeah you know i'm kind of done with it but i love hearing that to be honest because you know we went
i went hard at him and it just shows me that he's still hurting.
And I love to hear that.
It's like a very mature troll thing.
He's like, oh, yeah, I've moved on.
But glad to know that the shit still hurts.
I feel like if we had our 2023 predictions to do over again, we've already recorded it.
It's coming out next week or the week after.
Gotta say,
I would have predicted weird things coming from Drake.
Just feels like he's in a weird place where he's like,
I think a lot of people are,
you know?
Yeah.
I think we're going to see,
I would have predicted weird things coming from me as well.
Cause I'm in a weird place.
I think we're going to see more like,
like 1% or unraveling.
Yeah,
I think so.
Because there's this thing where there's,
there's like this cognitive dissonance or just trying to like square the
fact that they,
they may at one point have remembered what it was like to not be wealthy,
but then it's been too long and like all their empathy sensors are fried.
Yeah.
But anyway, listen to that episode.
We talk about it.
Yeah.
It's a good episode.
We do talk about that.
Ballers vs. Haters.
Continue.
2023 movies.
This isn't really trending.
I just Googled it because this is what I wanted to, you know, it occurred to me.
I just Googled this now.
We talked about Oppenheimer yesterday, but what's coming?
What are the big ones that are coming down the pipe?
Barbie movie, obviously
Another John Wick
Fast 10
Has anyone else suggested
It be called Fast 10 Your Seatbelt?
Because if not, they should
Do you want me to search Twitter right now?
To see who tweeted that already?
Yeah, it's got to be.
It's got to be out there like dozens of times today.
Or not.
And if not, hey, credit to you.
Dune 2.
Oh, yeah.
Okay, I'm ready for that.
I am too.
Because the first one wasn't a full movie.
So I'm ready for them to release the second half.
June 5th, 2021.
Doug Benson.
Doug Benson, June 5th, 2021.
June 5th, 2021, Doug Benson.
Breaking the follow-up to f9 is going to be called
fast 10 year seat belts boom i mean it's great benson doug benson one thing he gives good benson
um so dune 2 uh wonka a new willie wonka two timmy c's becoming the pinocchio of our era
where it's just like you you know a new version of this is coming out every
couple months and it's no sign of stopping hey boss i got this really interesting script it's
unlike anything i've ever read before nah man what ip is now public domain this year right do that Right. Do that. Yes. Hey, uh,
Bob,
it's your cousin,
Jim,
Jim Iger.
I got this new,
that took way too long.
It took me to get that.
Wow.
Um,
you know, that new script you've been looking for,
uh,
anyways.
And then finally there's a new transformers movie coming.
Uh,
it's called rise
of the beasts that trailer is incoherent the trailer is wild the premise this is this might
be my light year your new light although i i think it'll probably do well like i i haven't
really understood the appeal of all the transformers and they've all done you know fine in the bill like over a billion dollars range but um this is just the
movie that i'm baffled by the incoherence of its universe um yeah because it opens with a uh robot
gorilla like just thrashing through the jungle and like doing big splash on some people who are exploring looking for him but why is it
why is the robot a gorilla i don't know at first i was i'm like what i i thought they're autobots
i don't even understand the fucking lore anymore like where they come from like how come some
motherfuckers are cars this guy's a fucking gorilla but then also being like or something
yeah and then telling like the blue-eyed robot to be like hey don't fear me i'm like there's a lot of shit to parse through right now for a fucking
transformers thing and then you're like it was all a dream and you're like yeah and then they
keep using like biggie also what does the like king kong gorilla transform into a less ape-like gorilla or does he transform into a vehicle no it looked like he had
like a sword or some shit out of nowhere at one point interesting that's yeah i'm very confused
by that again i think ever since like there was like i think was it the last one that was a
co-production with china like that clearly like they the transformers franchise has so much success
in china that it's like one of i think it's one of these franchises now that clearly like they the transformers franchise has so much success in china that
it's like one of i think it's one of these franchises now that they know they know where
their market is and they're like no this shit's gonna fucking blow up yeah um but there's like a
really cool bit where the like a car is going backwards and then it transforms around the
person who's driving it and like does all the cool transformer stuff and now it's going forwards
but then it like multiplies using no like holograms or anything that makes sense and then
does like 10 hologram cars around it and it's like these are just cars now to throw off the ops you
know what i mean yeah that's that's how that porsche uh moves i guess but yeah would love to say i understood the trailer
all right we're gonna call this next story rockets um and i just want we do we say the name
is that what's gonna be the thing that would pretend i can't because people evoke his name
all the time and i think this isn't. We've had experience with one very,
like the King Nepo Baby.
He might have a filter on that to like search it.
We've had some experience with mentioning
this person's name, King Nepo Baby,
owner of an NBA franchise that is in New York
and plays in Madison Square Garden.
And this- Let's call them the ny
nicks no that's that's that's too obvious the new york knickerbockers okay there we go and so the
owner of that team who inherited uh a massive cable company from uh their father uh we've had a podcast that went up about that person and got
banned like within hours of going up um so this person i think has chosen to spend like the
majority of their fortune on like payback screening technology to just like make sure nobody says anything mean about right
because uh just allow me to read this story and it will begin to make sense the reason and it's
stay with me now it's about a woman going to see the rockets perform the christmas spectacular at
radio city music hall okay her daughter's girl Scout. Yeah. With her daughters. So this woman, Kelly Conlin, walks into the venue.
Security stops her because of her work as a New Jersey lawyer.
It seems that Madison Square Garden Entertainment has begun using facial recognition technology to identify any visitor to any of its venues, including Radio City Music Hall,
to any of its venues including radio city music hall who was involved with any law firm that previously filed litigation against madison square garden entertainment conlan has never
practiced law in new york nor personally been involved in litigation against msg entertainment
instead she's guilty by association that is amazing yeah like just but this feels this feels like a part of the pettiness of like the the um you know
rich person philosopher king uh ayn rand like she was like they're atlas the people who make this
world run are gonna shrug and we're all gonna be screwed because like they do everything to keep
the the wheels turning and like that turns out not to be true. But what they are going to do is use their billions of dollars
to spend money to make our lives as miserable as possible,
if we're mean to them,
or even acknowledge that they don't deserve their billions of dollars.
And we see it with Elon Musk.
And this person is our A, number one.
Yeah, and also everything around this guy is
like a terrible band and like he's that's like so embarrassing and like oh look at his band yeah
look at his band well but it is interesting yeah like we're now that you are you're basically using
money to pretend you're god on some level to like quite literally be like i have an all-seeing eye that can make
sure you will not get into like my fucking business or whatever and what's wild is this
lawyer was like man i didn't even like i was just like apparently the firm she was working for
had litigation against a restaurant that is only now under the umbrella of the company
restaurant that is only now under the umbrella of the company yeah so like it doesn't matter yeah just enemy you're against hell yeah right on my enemies that's right it was all a dream
shit all right yeah it's been a year yeah that's been uh daily zeitgeist uh we're back tomorrow with the whole last episode yeah
the show we are until then be kind to each other be kind to yourself get the vaccine get the flu
shot yeah don't do nothing about white supremacy have a nice relaxing holiday yes and we will talk
to y'all in a bunch of very special episodes yeah they're a lot of fun and then we will talk to y'all in the new year. And thank you
for being you and fucking with
the show. Yes, yes.
Bye. Bye.
