Kay hasn't heard from her sister in seven years.

What was that?
That was live audio of a woman's nightmare.
Can Kay trust her sister or is history repeating itself?

Hello, the internet, and welcome to this special episode of Zight Time Sleepy Tea.
I'm Jack O'Brien.
That's Miles Gray.
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
How are you, sir?
I'm good.
You know, just enjoying the city of Portland.
Yeah, getting ready to go up on stage,
meet our fans.
Yeah, special guests.
Yeah, we got a special guest coming.
I mean, by this time,
I don't know if you listen as soon as it comes out,
so I don't want to spoil who the guest is,
but there's a guest.
If you're familiar with the universe of guests
and podcasts we have over here at iHeart,
you will recognize this person.
Yo, yo, I don't know.
What inspired that?
That they should know who it is.
Oh, okay. Based on where we are.
But you're just in an Alanis mood?
And I was in an Alanis mood. Oh, because we're also
hitting Toronto on this tour also,
so some Canadian vibes are strong.
And Alanis will be our guest.
Yeah. Let's talk about what's trending
this afternoon. Hummer. They have a new truck coming out it's electric uh it is 1000 horsepower yeah that's
the that's the kind of that's kind of fucking kick we're getting out of this emule thing damn
yeah they um it's nice to see hummer basically going from doing the antithesis of what it once was, gas guzzling.
It used to be the thing you would talk about conveniently.
And then you got these Hummers going around everywhere.
And now they've gone to a full-on electric truck.
This is the thing.
I know a lot of people are really into combustion engines and things like this.
But when you look at the performance you get out of an electric car, it's pretty wild.
This fucking truck is going to go zero to 60 in three seconds and have 11,500 foot pounds
of torque.
Okay.
Yeah.
Okay, cool.
It is.
They move very fast.
They accelerate almost at a speed that doesn't seem like if you.
Because it's like you're turning a switch on.
Yeah.
And it's just going as fast as physics will allow it,
as opposed to as fast as the engine can get heated up and start moving.
So it really, really flies, man.
Real motor talk from us right here.
Yeah.
You know, that engine just heats up, and then it goes boom.
And then it goes boom, man.
You know what I'm saying?
I know I'm dang old, man.
I feel like you're on a roller coaster.
Dang roller coaster, man.
George Wallace is trending.
What's that guy doing back in the news?
Racist politician.
The governor?
The governor.
Wait, why is he joel wallace uh because everyone's
so into white supremacy again yeah it's just people just found out about it and they're like
hell yeah no uh so bernie critics are saying that he wrote an article they've uncovered an article
from 1972 where he talks positively about george Wallace, but this is a thing that's been out there for years.
And when you look at what he said, it was not positive at all.
He was basically saying that he understands where the political power that he put together came from, that it was disaffected people uh but basically he ended
up saying could nazi germany happen here could you know black people and hippies and uh all the
you know marginalized uh communities in america turn to the turn into the the Jews and communists of the Nazi
experience? Yes, I could see that happening.
But people, I think
there was something where he said
that a certain
feeling of admiration and respect
for their anger at the political
system, but feared that with Wallace's
influence growing, their collective
rage exposed an existential threat
to civil rights and
american pluralism uh so he was you know basically describing yeah the wallace phenomenon and people
are taking various aspects of it out of context a lot of it's the people on the left too right
they're like no i know but i mean like I mean, like, it showed... This is...
Okay.
They're very focused on trying to get something to stick about Bernie.
Sam Stein from the Daily Beast was like,
among the many questions that this raises is,
how did Biden's team not have access to this?
This is, like, killer stuff.
Okay. And somebody else tweeted that this is like proves
once again that bernie is unvetted and can't be trusted and is a liability so that's why that
is trending uh also trending rand paul uh so he put together he wanted to get john roberts to read the whistleblower's name
during the senate impeachment trial and uh john roberts was like what fuck you are you serious
no i i will not how about nah i will not grant you this request yes uh and so rand paul just And so Rand Paul just called a press conference and named him himself because as a libertarian, he is a fan of free speech, which he doesn't want to protect someone's right to cut out rampant corruption, basically.
Very, very good morals to have.
Yes.
You know?
Yeah.
This is just all part of the same.
No one actually acts out what they say their values are on the right anymore.
Like, it's completely so transparently corrupt and fucked up.
There's nothing, this guy, you'd think as a libertarian, you would care, like, this ability to hold these kinds of government entities accountable.'d be like yeah okay i see some benefit to that that there's nothing about this
that does that no there's nothing everything again like there's no argument that they have
on the right that actually appeals to like logic or even any of like the you know supposed values
are of their party.
And it really does sort of underline,
there's this great piece in the Atlantic
that's just talking about this is really the last stand
for white minority power.
And it's been at every level, at every phase of our history,
there's always been some kind of struggle about this
to maintain minority power.
It's like, okay, so first, okay, we're gonna free slaves.
Well then how do we deal with that?
What do we do now about the status of these people?
Then it's like, okay, well, we got immigrants now.
Now we're getting smaller numbers
because now we have immigrants coming here.
How do we figure out how to,
are there people that we can just determine
being white enough or not white enough?
Okay, wait, women are voting now? Okay, so how do we figure out how to are there people that we can just determine being white enough or not white enough okay wait women are voting now okay so how do we how do we figure out how to like how long can we
keep women down from voting uh okay how much how now it's like voter id laws there's this at every
in every era we have this sort of struggle and like this is the latest one because i mean when
you look at all of the projections demographically of what the country is beginning to look like
yes it's going to the white people will be in the minority and already there you look on i guess for
most liberals they say the power structure can involve most people depends on how where you are
on the spectrum on the left but some people will say it's for everyone some people say well you
know maybe it's for the privilege but yeah i think this is now this is just the latest iteration and
again they're willing they're so short-sighted because they know if we give up trump now
like what happens we've given up the farm are we would we ever get re-elected what do we do and i
think also they realize because he's such a his vitriol and he's so divisive and so
good at energizing the dormant racist in people that they're like god there's there's this there's
this energy though that it's tapped into that they're also you know it's like the fucking
ark of the covenant they're playing with yeah i do wonder how unique trump is going to be going
forward uh like it seems like there's going to be going forward.
It seems like there's going to be all sorts of politicians who are just at least willing to tap into the racism and the vitriol.
Who knows if they'll be as talented at hate-mongering as him.
But anyways, Rand Paul, pure piece of shit.
Just took a DNA test.
100% pure piece of shit.
Shouts out to his neighbor who beat the shit out of him,
presumably for.
No, it was over cutting his lawn or something.
Oh, right.
It was like a properly.
It's like the most peak, like I don't give a fuck. Shout out to that guy. I don't give a fuck why it was like a properly it's like the most peak like i
don't give a shout out to that guy i don't give a fuck why it was yeah just gave him a reason yeah
just give him a reason rand just give him a reason um and finally uh seattle kraken is trending yeah
sick dude i mean release the crafting you know what i'm saying what everyone's saying yo i say
i say release the kraken jokes every day at work,
and everyone thinks they're sick.
It's always on the way into the bathroom.
Anna just started weeping in the room.
She started eating.
Yeah, I didn't realize that Seattle's getting a new NHL team.
Right.
And so right now it's not confirmed,
but the rumors are spreading that the team name,
they will be called the Seattle Kraken.
Yeah.
Which is kind of cool.
Yeah.
It sounds cool.
Yeah.
The logo better be cool.
I'm sure any nerd will love it just because of its place in literature.
So.
So cool.
Maybe sponsored by Kraken Rum.
Look, I don't know.
I'm a spitball.
Hey.
You know.
And get Kraken Rum on the phone. See what we can do. Is Kraken Rum. Look, I don't know. I'm a spitball. Hey, you know. Anna, get Kraken Rum on the phone.
See what we can do.
Is Kraken one of those things?
I feel like it's one of those things that was cool for a while and won't be cool in a little bit.
But I could just be underestimating how timeless the Kraken is.
Wait, how long has it been around?
Just that Kraken jokes. Feel, how long it's been around? Just that, like, Kraken
jokes. Feel like zombie
jokes or something. Oh, well,
Release the Kraken, it was a film
that came out. What movie was it where there
was, and someone said,
Liam Neeson, I think. Yeah, and that's
what dilly-dilly-fied
the Kraken. Right, the Kraken.
But it's like a Scandinavian
mythological thing. Right, yeah. It's like the raptorandinavian mythological okay right yeah it's like the
raptor a mythological piece that was cool for a little while uh-huh so totally uh all right
