Hello, the internet, and welcome to this episode of
Zite want my TDZ
That is courtesy of Frog Eggs from the Discord
Shout out to Discord Zite Gang for bringing it all to the surface for me
Who only checks Twitter
I am Jack and I'm thrilled to be joined by super producer,
Anna Hosnia!
Hi.
Hi.
How's it going?
Cool.
You know, what?
Two days in a row.
We're going to do trends today,
and then tomorrow we're gonna be doing trends from
the floor of the Super Bowl
from the
literal like
inside the center of the
trophy old the audio will be
horrendous get ready you guys
there's no padding out there
this is very strange the closer we
get to the event the more I
realize I don't know why we're doing it but but I did want to see what Radio Row was like. Uh, and we're going to find out it's, uh, this is where like all the press people camp out for the whole week before the Superbowl and get interviews with football players and other celebrities who are wandering past.
I think we're going to be on like a stage of some sort.
So you will get a sweaty Jack.
Wait, what?
Oh, I'll be sweating up on a stage.
Come on.
There's thin up there anyways,
but we're going to talk Superbowl stories tomorrow before we get to the Super Bowl of it all.
There are things that are trending today that aren't the Super Bowl, Anna.
Right?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Cool.
All right.
Pfizer projects record revenues on vaccines.
news on vaccines feels like a bad system where a pandemic is being turned into record profits for like already wait but we knew that i guess i thought that like when they were talking about
how like you can't fuck with the um patent on the vaccine or else we won't make money i didn't think that they would then have the
gall to then come out and be like psych we made record money or we're making record money
thought they were i was hoping that uh they were going to give enough away that it wouldn't be
record profits uh that feels feels weird not that anybody like all the articles are like woo
yeah so i'm guessing you didn't try and short the vaccine stocks look i'm a little pissed i did and
that's why i'm mad uh because i didn't think they were real i thought it was all a lie i do have a
person i know a person who bought a bunch of moderna stock as soon as they even announced
that they were working on it.
And let's just say it's not returned my call since.
I don't know.
I think it was somewhere tropical.
It's just been in a helicopter since.
Doesn't need us anymore.
He bought the right stock.
Thanks a lot, Miles.
Oscar noms are a trend, and they were announced. We have a whole section more on the Oscars writ large,
but I did want to give Super Producer Anna Hosnia
a chance to just go through.
For the past 10 years running,
she's picked the exact right winners
every single time in every category.
And I just want you all to get to hear her process.
So I'm just going to go through the list of nominees. Do you want me to go through and just tell you all to get to hear her process so let i'm gonna i'm just gonna go
through tell you who's gonna win yeah so best picture we got nominees such as belfast uh which
don't know what that is i'm told it's in black and white coda which i'm told is i heard that
that'll make you cry okay let's see who's Best Picture? I'm going to say Power of the Dog.
Power of the Dog.
You heard it here first.
And also a lot of other places because it is the favorite.
Other things nominated.
Drive My Car was a big surprise foreign language film out of Japan.
Or non-English language, I guess, is the better way to say that.
Dune, King Richard, Licorice pizza i guess licorice
peets sounds like a nickname for peep uh nightmare alley west side story and then power of the dog
yes best director we got pt anderson licorice pizza kenneth brana belfast jane campion the power of the dog i feel like they could use
more voiceover like that and the power of the dog no i think it's gonna go to jane campion okay
not spielberg for west side store i don't even know who that is okay uh best actress we gotta
give it to coleman boom done for the lost daughter. I'm going to go with Kristen Stewart.
Um,
but that's dumb,
but right.
Well,
I am by definition wrong because I'm going against you.
I'm just going to bully you.
That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard.
Moving on.
Best actor.
In a,
uh,
Oh,
best actor in a leading role.
I mean,
if we don't give it to Denzel for the tragedy,
that was the tragedy of Macbeth. But you did not like that not like that movie no no i actually i i enjoyed it a lot it was just
so hard to watch i think they're gonna give it to will smith god that movie i get it i understand
when you're like really creating art but like holy shit sometimes don't release a movie to everyone
because they don't get it like just maybe just show it to your friends well i mean like just show it to a select group of people
who will get it like literally me and my boyfriend were sitting there watching it he was like oh this
is gonna be a long night huh and i was like it's art that was the energy where i was like and then
i started to become him where i was like it is a long night oh my god it's 4 a.m oh my god this
movie is still going when did we start this movie
have you watched Station Eleven
no I refuse I saw one
clip as my boyfriend was watching it and the guy
was like they've quarantined everyone on the
plane and I was like absolutely not
I'm not watching what's happening
in front of my eyes I just finished it
I was like oh that wasn't like as bad
it didn't like trigger
all that much um you know paranoia around covid and pandemics and then uh you know someone in
our household developed a cough and i was immediately like fuck we're all dead um so
yeah best supporting actress my guess would be, I don't know.
I haven't seen enough of these.
Give us a Kirsten Dunst.
She deserves it.
She's lived this life for too long without the awards.
Ariana DeBose is Super Producer, Becca Ramos' pick.
I did not see that.
Best Supporting Actor, we got...
I think give it to the old
Plemdog. Plemdog?
Yeah, because you know what? He got
snubbed for
Game Night.
And so we need to give him
one of the... You know how they do it where they retroactively
basically give you one for another movie?
You didn't see him in Game Night?
I did. I thought he was great.
Plemons in Game Night is a tour de force performance of,
I was like blown away by his performance in game night.
Hilarious to the point concise.
He nailed it.
And we need retroactively to give him an Oscar for that.
I mean,
I would say power of the dog is among the most Plemonsy of Plemons
performances. He like Plemons to plemonsy of plemons performances he like
plemons the shit out of it he's like i don't think you know what you're doing boy is that the vibe i
haven't seen him uh that was a little more menacing it was more it was more uh unassuming and kind oh
okay so was i doing the better more squeezing plemons to make plemons aid uh i would say is
what he pulled off in The Power of the Dog.
I think the other kid from The Power of the Dog
is the better pick. Who's the menacing one?
The menacing one is
Benedict Cumberbatch.
Did not see that coming.
I know, right? Best costume
design.
I mean, this one, I think
we have to give to...
And by the way, you are hearing what the process for giving these awards out sounds like.
You know what?
This one's hard.
I could go Cruella.
I could go West Side Story.
I could go Dune, even though I don't really think Dune needs an award.
West Side Story feels like one of those ones that's going to get a lot of these sorts of awards.
So people are like, West Side Story has a big night,
but it's all the awards that aren't the ones
that people actually watch to find out who wins.
Like Best Sound coming up.
I could see West Side Story winning that one.
Or the Power of the Dog.
Best Sound. Just sound is good here um i don't
know for costume let's give it to cruella whatever okay sure uh none of this matters best sound do
who do you uh who do you like best sound you say uh i like that you're actually putting thought into it i just really oh now are
we talking like original i guess is that the only option yeah there's very few movies are made of
recycled sound okay uh okay i was looking at music sorry sound you what? Let's give it to No Time to Die.
Hell yeah.
All right. So you get the point.
We're all like, ooh, a score.
Original screenplay, I think they'll give it to Licorice Pizza.
I've also heard the worst person in the world is very good.
Let's not give it to Licorice Pizza at this point. I mean, I'm not giving it to licorice pizza. You are, but I don't know.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, no, no, no, no.
I'll give it.
You know what?
I'm actually going to say that we, um, remove this category cause I don't like anyone involved.
Okay.
Uh, best animated short.
Uh, these are notoriously famously.
I don't comment on shorts at the oscars
yeah just because you have so much tied up in them it's you got a lot riding and also a lot
of money you bet on it a lot no no i just don't believe shorts need to be in the oscars what you
need to do is create a wow shorts only oscars what because you can't just put two little categories
and be like these this is it.
This is all you get.
No, no, no, no.
Shorts do great work.
And we need to respect the shorts spectrum, okay?
And we need to have an entire award show
that is strictly shorts.
And I'm not-
And you're talking about the short film
and not the pant, the varietal of pant.
You know I can't comment further.
So I think just to put them in
and be like here's what you get these little shorts i don't think that's fair so i won't
comment sure uh all right so that's basically you you heard you you kind of see where this is going
i think you all can make the picks for yourselves from there but we haven't discussed how um house of gucci needs to sweep hair and
makeup sweep sweep to a powerful hair and makeup win this is by the way what we are going to be
asking uh all the football players that we talk to tomorrow is like so who did you think should
have gotten hair and makeup i'm gonna be like hot or not house, House of Gucci. Yeah. We have big ideas of things that I will then not have the confidence to pull off.
Did I not record this?
Am I not recording?
Oh, no.
Oh, no.
Not again.
I am psyched.
I got you.
Fucking got you.
You got us.
Why does he always do that?
Why does he always pretend he's not recording and it like really
throws off the vibe of the show. It's just
I want credit for recording
when I do. So I try and like put
put some, you know, suspense
in there because, you know,
don't do a lot right, Anna.
You get it? Let's take a quick
break. When we come back, we're going to talk
about the NBA trade deadline.
Take a quick break.
When we come back, we're going to talk about the NBA trade deadline.
I'm Jess Casavetto, executive producer of the hit Netflix documentary series,
Dancing for the Devil, the 7M TikTok cult.
And I'm Clea Gray, former member of 7M Films and Shekinah Church. And we're the host of the new podcast, Forgive Me For I Have Followed.
Together, we'll be diving even deeper
into the unbelievable stories behind 7M Films
and LA-based Shekinah Church,
an alleged cult that has impacted members
for over two decades.
Jessica and I will delve into the hidden truths
between high control groups and interview dancers,
church members, and others whose lives and careers
have been impacted, just like mine.
Through powerful, in-depth interviews with former members and new, chilling firsthand accounts,
the series will illuminate untold and extremely necessary perspectives.
Forgive Me For I Have Followed will be more than an exploration.
It's a vital revelation aimed at ensuring these types of abuses never happen again.
Listen to Forgive Me For I Have Followed on the iHeartRadio app,
Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. starting out in your career, you have a lot of questions like, how do I speak up when I'm feeling overwhelmed? Or can I negotiate a higher salary if this is my first real job? Girl, yes.
Each week we answer your unfiltered work questions. Think of us as your work besties
you can turn to for advice. And if we don't know the answer, we bring in experts who do,
like resume specialist Morgan Saner. The only difference between the person who doesn't get the job and the person who gets the job is
usually who applies. Yeah, I think a lot about that quote. What is it? Like you miss 100% of
the shots you never take? Yeah, rejection is scary, but it's better than you rejecting yourself.
Together, we'll share what it really takes to thrive in the early years of your career
without sacrificing your sanity or sleep.
Listen to Let's Talk Offline on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your
podcasts. I've been thinking about you. I want you back in my life. It's too late for that.
I have a proposal for you. Come up here and document my project. All you need to do is record everything like you always do. One session, 24 hours. BPM 110, 120. She's terrified. Should we wake her up? Absolutely not.
What was that? You didn't figure it out? I think I need to hear you say it. That was live audio of a woman's nightmare.
This machine is approved and everything?
You're allowed to be doing this?
We passed the review board a year ago.
We're not hurting people.
There's nothing dangerous about what you're
doing.
They're just dreams.
Dream Sequence
is a new horror thriller from Blumhouse Television,
iHeartRadio, and Realm.

How do you feel about biscuits?
Hi, I'm Akilah Hughes, and I'm so excited about my new podcast, Rebel Spirit,
where I head back to my hometown in Kentucky and try to convince my high school to change their racist mascot, the Rebels,
into something everyone in the South loves, the Biscuits.
I was a lady Rebel.
Like, what does that even mean?
The Boone County Rebels will stay the Boone County Rebels with the image of the Biscuits.
It's right here in black and white in print.
A lion.
An individual that came to the school saying that God sent him
to talk to me about the mascot switch.
As a leader, you choose hills that you want to die on.
Why would we want to be the losing team?
I'd just take all the other stuff out of it.
On segregation academies, when civil rights said that we need to integrate public schools,
these charter schools were exempt from that.
Bigger than a flag or mascot.
You have to be ready for serious backlash.
Listen to Rebel Spirit on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
And we're back.
And I mean, the break lasted for 25 minutes because I couldn't get on a two stop spewing just the firest, hottest takes about the latest trades happening in the NBA. We're coming up against the NBA trade deadline.
As a Sixer fan, I am watching players who I would love to have, you know traded Ben Simmons for getting traded for one
another like Therese Halliburton got traded to the Pacers for DeMontis Sabonis who both of whom
I would have loved to have on the Sixers and then it seems like the Sixers are going closer and
closer to possibly trading Simmons and Seth Curry for James
Harden,
which I don't,
I don't love for them.
Wait.
So then Seth would go to the New York team.
Yeah.
Brooklyn,
Brooklyn.
That's right.
Sorry.
The New York team.
I think that just makes Brooklyn way better.
Well,
yeah.
So why would they do that?
Cause,
uh,
Daryl Morey,
the,
uh,
I don't know what exactly GM or president of basketball operations
at the 76ers is a big James Harden fan.
What?
I want to see my mom.
My mom's always like, and where's James Harden?
And we're like, how do you know who James Harden is?
She's like, because you guys just sit here and make me watch a lot of basketball.
It's really true.
She's always asking like, and where did James Harden go now?
I'm always like, how do you a tiny little muslim woman right who really does not engage with culture all that much
always ask about james harden they she's got to meet that guy my mom we should introduce them the
gym i've also been talking for years about how i thought uh ben simmons for cj mccollum is something
the sixers would never do because by a lot of logic, Ben Simmons is better than CJ McCollum.
But I just love CJ McCollum.
He got traded to New Orleans from Portland.
So Portland's blown it up.
We'll see.
Portland fans can't be psyched.
I saw a really funny meme last night where someone wrote LeBron at the Lakers practice today.
And it's a photo of Kobe.
And he,
it's just a quote saying,
I just came by to say bye to some of you bums.
We're going to get traded tomorrow.
Kobe to his team.
And then they tweeted that and said LeBron at the Lakers practice today.
And that's from at Lake show.
Yo.
At Lake show.
Yeah.
Well,
speaking of trades,
big trades happening for Peloton.
Their co-founder has stepped down.
And I think they added a different person who's going to like take over as
the new interim head.
And I think that caused people to be happy.
I don't know.
I don't,
this,
this stuff all very boring to me,
but they are cutting 3000 jobs,
which is 20% of the company.
So it seems like they went like,
got a bad stock market report card and are like,
it's the workers fault.
Um,
let's bring somebody in here and do some belt tightening.
So I don't know.
There's apparently somebody is coming in to take over for the co-founder CEO dude.
And there's also rumors that they are going to be targeted for takeover by Amazon or Nike.
Amazon makes sense to me just because it makes
like anytime I'm like, what's the most
terrifying thing Amazon could do
that would just add to their
unfathomable power?
Are you serious? That's that?
Yeah, I just feel like, I don't know.
They'll find a way to
make it work and
get in all of our homes.
Who do you think they would become more powerful
if they bought Peloton?
I mean,
why not?
Sure.
I don't know.
To me,
it just feels like it's kind of like,
ew,
really?
Peloton?
Yeah.
Not that cool.
So like,
it's not cool,
but it's,
it's,
I think going to be in a lot of people's like workout lives and routines. Um,
so I don't know, maybe not. Uh, maybe Amazon will just Nike will buy Peloton and then Amazon will
buy Nike and then we'll be fucked. Uh, sorry. The, the developments Tuesday deflated hopes
for such a deep pocketed buyer and shares of Peloton slipped before the opening bell.
Uh, so everything I just said was wrong.
Um,
which I just like to take you on a ride.
Sometimes,
uh,
Brooklyn museum is going to host the first posthumous exhibition of Virgil
Abloh.
So that will be dope.
That will be July 1st,
2022 to January 29th,
2023. And then the winter 1st, 2022 to January 29th, 2023.
And then the Winter Olympics are
the
U.S. is still without a gold
as of this recording. I feel
like a lot of mainstream
Americans are pissed.
What happened?
We're supposed to be better at falling down
a mountain. But
Ana, have you watched any Winter Olympics?
No, I honestly keep forgetting they're on.
And I know...
No, I don't know anything.
I'm trying to remember if I've even remotely seen anything
in passing on television.
And I don't recall.
I recall nothing.
And I won't come further.
You sound like I'm like... I don't know why i'm on the hot seat all of a sudden
fbi interrogating you uh i'm gonna have to plead the fifth on that one on whether you've seen a
winter olympics hold on let me think no unfortunately nothing is coming to me actually
i can't yeah my memory is failing me here anyways those are some of the things that are trending. We are back tomorrow with a delightful whole ass episode of the show.
Until then, be kind to each other.
Be kind to yourselves.
Get the vaccine.
Wear a mask.
Don't do nothing about white supremacy.
And we will talk to y'all tomorrow.
Bye.
Goodbye.
Bye.
