You're listening to Giraffe Kings Network. This is the Dan Levator Show with the Stugas Podcast.
Guys, our studio team and video team tracked down video of Dan legging one out.
Hmm, this is not me legging one out.
This is, I'm being told that this is video of you playing softball.
Oh, I mean, maybe they said your legs gave out.
Or came out from underneath them.
She threw a change up.
Claire Sue, Olympic softball pitcher.
I had her fastball timed.
Oh, yeah.
Apparently not, yeah.
It's her change up.
I fell down because she...
You were sitting dead red on the old number one.
You were sitting on the Hummer?
There's a flop.
Yeah, that means talking flops.
Trying to be cute.
I want some credit here.
I made it, but-
You guys don't know how hard that was.
These are high school students?
Is that me?
Dave Barrage is heckling you.
She pays.
She was an Olympian.
How many times are you gonna show that?
I have to go to jury duty here in a little bit here
What I know what I'm rooting for which is for justice a murder case that makes it so that I don't have to go to the Super Bowl
That's a good way to get dismissed when they say today you'll be
Ruling possibly on a murder trial and you just audibly go. Yes
You'll be ruling possibly on a murder trial and you just audibly go yes
You should have like the courtroom music playing on your phone when you walk in maybe it seemed like you're just super serious about this Doon doon doon how would I get out of it like what is the what is the route?
I tell them that I'm with the media that or racist. Yeah, just announced that I'm racist
Yeah, so lie go works all the time go into a courtroom and lie
Well, we'll see whatever show you show your true colors
Do you mean whatever? Well, I mean member works if you want to know did say that you hated women last week
That's how it went in the last segment. Why don't you? Yeah
Why don't you say this when the judge asks like anything you want to say like Caitlyn Clark flopped if we're gonna be honest
Let's let's talk about this
of a vapor pit in here
stew gots just got done saying to me that the Texans Ravens game Saturday on
ESPN is the most watched football game in the history of the worldwide leader in
sports thirty two million people crazy watch that game CJ Stroud couldn't do
much of anything the Ravens with a week of rest this one's funny right because in the other sports
when teams have time off were like raster russ raster russ what about
rhythms in football like not got to heal the body it's really terrible for the
body and one team comes in having played a week before that's violent it really
hurts and if one team has two weeks off that's an enormous v at uh...
advantage kind of surprising
to see the ravens be a ten point favorite
against
a houston team that looked really strong i'm assuming a lot of people bet
because cj stroud looked amazing and then you see the ravens do what they
have done all seasons to that they did that to detroit as well yet team has
been overwhelming all season their three losses have all been close games.
I don't know how many of them were division games.
One of them was Cleveland and that defense
slowing down Lamar Jackson.
But the Baltimore Ravens, what they did to Houston,
that was the only game this weekend
that wasn't really in doubt.
It was close at the half, but all the other games,
you're like, I don't know which team is gonna win
while it's being played.
That one you saw in the second half,
Houston wore down and the Baltimore defense
is going to be a problem for anyone it plays.
The Ravens have 11 wins versus winning teams,
teams with winning records this year,
which is incredible.
I think it's an NFL record,
but you did see the rust in the first half.
Like it was 10-10 at halftime, Dan, and then Houston.
But I didn't see any rust on the defense.
Houston got a special
You're right. Touched. Yes. Baltimore's defense. Yeah completely neutered
You were saying CJ Stroud don't want him in my stadium, right? And Baltimore did not care CJ Stroud was rendered useless in that game by that
Defense it does feel like this is Lamar Jackson's moment. It does the team is so good. They're so overwhelming
The running game is good this is what the more looks like when he has what he's been craving for
so long when he has weapons i believe that the best combination i have i may
have this wrong what who's one and who's two but i think the most efficient
tandem combination in offense is lamar jack Jackson to likely and second is Lamar
Jackson to Andrews who comes back this week.
Andrews who's had it.
And I don't know what that's going to be like.
Andrews has had half the season off.
Is he going to be that Frankenstein monster with bolts in his neck that cannot be stopped?
You know, his wild was Laporta coming back from that injury.
I don't know if you actually saw the injury he sustained.
And last week, he was wearing an O-Lines brace.
And he was just catching everything.
He's going to be a special tight end.
Not unlike Mark Andrews already is.
But yeah, it seems as though the emergence of likely is likely pushed Andrews out in
that contract.
I mean, he's made himself expendable by his backup performing so admirably.
It's just tough because you usually like to see two tight ends that can do things at the same time.
Obviously, Patriots had that with Gronkin and Hernandez,
but it feels like the Ravens are built in a specific way where they can have two tight ends and make it work.
I was watching the other days, too, Götz, because I remember the show we did after a random Vikings game
where I couldn't believe the number of times Hawkinson was bent into an accordion during
a game and just violent hit after violent hit that looked not unlike the Higbie hit where
he just his leg is near his ear when he's catching the ball and then two weeks later
I see an assortment of tight ends who are the same thickness as
Hockinson in a Vikings game taking the same sort of hits.
But this particular mutant that everyone has now as a tight end in that league, you know,
I don't know what the start of this was, whether it was Antonio Gates or Kellan Winslow, but
these guys are bigger.
These tight ends that are a Gronk-like or Kelsey-like where they're not guardable human beings, where the timing
between the quarterback, one of the touchdowns between Lamar Jackson and likely, where the
corner is there and he just throws it and likely just reaches over.
Nothing you can do.
No, nothing you can do. Just talk to Calvin Johnson about, I can probably go down there
and catch a ball in the red zone because I'm just taller than everybody.
But the 65667, 250, 260, 270 pound dude like Andrews, that you put them in an offense where
it appears the Baltimore Ravens are more physical than everyone on both sides of the
balls to God.
It's like San Francisco is the only thing that I have seen this season that I look at and I'm like they will just beat you up
No matter how tough you think you are
It seems to me a long time ago
Stugots when it was Ray Lewis again stealing the soul of Eddie George when it was only Ravens Titans playing that kind of football
Or Raven Steelers playing that kind of football. It seems, correct me if you think I'm wrong on this, that Baltimore and
San Francisco are the only two teams in that league where you say those two
teams are physically tougher than everyone they're playing against.
Cleveland's defense had some of this, but that's on one side of the ball.
Detroit has some of that.
Detroit has some of it, but when Detroit went to Baltimore, they got dragged. They did. It was their worst loss of the ball. Detroit has some of that. Detroit has some of it but when Detroit went to Baltimore they got dragged. They did. It was their worst loss of the
season. They lost by whatever it was 40 points. It was, if you were going to
doubt this Detroit team, the best Detroit football team there's ever been.
We can make the argument that Dan Campbell has the best Lions team. Certainly
that any of us who have been alive for the last 50 years
by far, that team went to Baltimore and had no chance and it makes me wonder
if I give you the most physical team and I give you a quarterback who cannot be
dismissed as a system quarterback because Goff can be dismissed that way. You
can undo what Brock Purdy is doing by just saying he's game
manager and as soon as I take Debo away from him he looks mortal or all of a sudden where did
those three or four interceptions come from? If I give you the most physical team and I give you
an MVP assassin at quarterback, it's almost only Mahomes that you would give a chance in the AFC
against that. I don't know what else you would. I don't know who else you would look at in the AFC and say maybe Josh Allen. I mean
maybe maybe Joe Barrow if he were healthy but he's not. It's about it. Baltimore has looked
overwhelming all season and it feels to me overlooked. It feels like only recently. If we
have so desperate to make Philadelphia the best team in the sport.
Kansas City the best team in the sport.
You've said Dallas even though I didn't hear anybody
saying Dallas was the best team in the sport.
San Francisco the best team in the sport.
It seems to me that Lamar Jackson, a reigning MVP,
and the Baltimore Ravens,
it seems like they have quietly won
in that sport where people are watching.
How do you quietly win when 32 million people
are watching your Saturday afternoon game?
How does that happen quietly all season?
So if they beat the Chiefs to the AFC Championship game,
they will play the Niners or the Lions.
Whoever wins that game,
they beat the Lions already 38 to six.
38 to six.
They beat the Niners 35 to 19 on their home field.
They're overwhelming, they're overwhelming this team.
And they did struggle a lot at the beginning of the season,
they had a new offensive coordinator.
So it goes to show why making any sort of prediction
like before week 12 is just stupid.
And we would have put the Eagles in the Super Bowl
if we did that.
It sounds like you're saying though,
the AFC Championship game is the Super Bowl.
Is that what you're like, the facto Super Bowl?
I mean, Ball San Francisco.
The only one who could beat him is Mahomes.
San Francisco cannot. San Francisco can't beat him.
San Francisco cannot beat the Ravens?
No, no, no, no.
They lost to him at home 33 to 19.
Like it's gonna be a blowout
if Baltimore plays San Francisco.
No.
Who do you think the Ravens were rooting for last night?
I think they got the team they were they wanted to. I think they were probably rooting to face the Chiefs
Hmm as opposed to the Bills. Why?
I just think the Bills the last before like the last six weeks the Bills have been like the hottest team in the league
And like you said, this is the most beat. I mean the Chiefs offense does seem to be coming into form like against the Dolphins and yesterday
It's as good as that offense has looked all year. So at this point, it's a little scary
But going into that game the chiefs have seemed beatable
What do you guys make of what it is we were talking about earlier in the show that?
Josh Allen an
Athlete unlike most ever to play the position got so handcuffed after Ken Dorsey was
fired by offensive scheme and we will only lose Josh if you turn the ball over.
So therefore we are going to play Kansas City and we are going to throw the ball
behind the line of scrimmage for 16 completions. Did Kansas City do that to
them or did Buffalo do that to themselves with a fear?
Are you asking if Kansas City wanted or Buffalo lost it?
I'm saying that because many are asking this.
Good day for that.
I am actually asking that Kansas City, which is a great defense, the best that Mahomes has had in the entire time we've been watching him,
I'm asking if that happened to the Bills because they've been more conservative and then ran into a champion and then when the game gets late things get difficult
because you're playing a champion and that strategically you were trying to not turn the
ball over and you you made Josh Allen you coached the recklessness out of him so much
that you had them being impotent and they scored one touchdown in the second half.
Hyper overreaction to the one game
that they played a clean game.
They've, in this entire second half run.
He did fumble.
He fumbled.
That was, oh, that was so close.
Not a turnover.
This entire second half run,
he's been turning the ball over
as crazy as he's ever been.
Oh no, that's not true though.
No, they've reduced the turnovers.
That's not mathematically true.
It's not as bad as it was they've reduced the turnovers. That's not mathematically true. It's not it's not as bad as it was
They reduced all they did my rush Allen to throw a pick keeps cashing right but Dan's right
They ran the football more when he took over when Dorsey was out
So the reason Dorsey was fired is because they were losing games because of his turnovers to me
Well, the reason Dorsey was fired is they need a scapegoat
Stugats here from my friends over at SimplySafe

Don't think that's absolute. I don't think that is evidence salute to that boy. So it's it suggests camouflage
It suggests that you do has no idea what we're talking about
And now it's just googling it.
Stugats!
I'm not googling it.
My grandmama stayed in the country.
I watched the Braves, I watched Colombo, I watched Matlock, I watched Andy Griffin.
Yeah, that's classic.
You go to the penalty box, Dan.
Dan take your answer to the penalty box.
You tell him Juju!
I'm here, liar.
You tell him Juju!
Back to you, Stu.
This is the Don Lebatar Show with the Stugas.
I am reading here from Adam Schefter that Jim Horbaugh
is expected to meet with the Chargers for a second time.
Why are these teams having these coaches come around
for a second time?
I've never seen this many second interviews in my life.
What is going on here?
Cause I feel like Jim Harbott and Bill Belichick
are trying to extend this as long as they can
to see which of the best jobs come open.
Is that fair?
I think every single hiring cycle,
you see second interviews.
Really?
Every workplace, I feel like two.
At least two.
Do diligence is actually something
that's kind of sweeping the NFL
With metal arc before they hire I had to talk to everyone at the company, huh?
But Bill Belichick needs a second interview or a third interview from either one of my you don'ts
That's it. Well, what really is an interview right? Is it the first is the vibe check?
Yeah, as the first thing maybe hit Belichick and Arthur Blank going out to dinner together. They call it an interview,
but it's really a breaking of bread. But what are you gonna learn the second
time around that you didn't learn the first time around? Maybe it's a tour of
the facility. Maybe the first one was like more casual. Let's get to know each
other. Then, okay, this is actually serious. Next one we're gonna meet at the
facility. You can walk around, see what's what, see what your office would look like.
Other things pop up in your other interviews
with other candidates that you didn't get around
to asking certain questions because you didn't know
that you had those questions until you spoke to others.
So you bring back that same coach to see how things land.
But you're the Falcons.
I find it nearly impossible to believe
they didn't offer Bill Belichick to job already.
You're the Falcons.
They could be talking about other things
like personnel power, other, like there's other, do I really have to explain this?
But what is David Shaw saying in all of these other interviews that's leading to all these second interviews?
And how is he getting interviewed?
It seems like it's just like Belichick, Harbaugh, and David Shaw that are getting interviewed at this point, right?
Vrable got one, I think with the charges.
Rames, yeah. Rame Morris got two.
Two. Ben Johnson's Morris got two. Two.
Ben Johnson's gotten a bunch.
Yeah, but he's taking them on the phone though.
So he's gonna have to have a second interview
where he goes.
Power move.
See, I understand if the first one is a phone interview,
I understand the need for a follow up, a second interview.
But you're the Falcons.
Arthur Smith was just your head coach
Like you offer bellow check the job on the phone. Yeah, but they probably respect themselves
I think I'm thinking about them. That's not the way they look at themselves like we're the Falcons
Really guys were the Falcons. I think the Falcons keep trying to convince bellow check to take the job and he keeps stringing them on
I can't really I can't even fake more conviction on doing your due diligence than I already had in the show.
Yeah, this is bizarre, Stu.
I'm very confused by all of this.
Why?
You think, like, this career, being a one of 32 head coaches in the NFL
is immune from follow-up interviews?
Yeah, well, for those two, yes.
Okay.
Just for those two.
Arthur Smith, five interviews, okay?
But Bill Belichick and Jim Harbaugh won a piece
and that's it, make it off or don't.
I got a lot of questions for Jim Harbaugh.
Like what?
Yeah, do.
Like?
Well, you wanna find out.
So what was going on in Michigan?
Is this something that we can get punished for in the NFL?
And you're interviewing him,
and Jim Harbaugh's interviews,
he brings in some other guy not near him like,
hey, talk to this guy.
Say you get suspended, who's gonna be coaching
the team I mean if you're a hit me just like I'm fine
right what are you gonna say that's my number one question I'm just curious what
it's like coach we want to talk to you get to know you for the no talk to this
guy talk to these kids talk to these kids he's like turning to play quorum
it's not public.
I need to know if you're here right for this job.
So nothing to see here.
Like I'm just making.
I thought you were making a lot out of it.
It's just like just said there's an early practice.
I think they're all doing these jobs.
I believe they're all waiting around
to see if Andy Reed retires.
That's.
That was your take, Les.
Yeah, well, that's what I'm trying to get to.
I do.
Thank you, Billy. Speaking of Michigan, it what I'm trying to get to. I do. We got to it. Thank you, Billy.
Speaking of Michigan, it's a weird way to get to Ohio State.
But it seems like Ohio State has gone crazy.
It seems like Michigan did get to Ohio State.
But it seems like Ohio State, in an effort
to correct what happened to Michigan winning
the national championship.
And what happened to Michigan was a direct response
to what was happening at Ohio State.
Because we've looked through the previous champions and the vast majority of them are
usually a rival's response to someone else's success.
Nothing in that sport really quite motivates like the success of your enemy.
And Ohio State, who's had a ton of success, Ryan Day has won like 97% of his games over there,
but he's on the Hansi because he had to follow,
and DeBores could have figured this out in Alabama.
You're following a legend, and expectations are supposed to be sky high.
You're not supposed to be within a game of the college football playoff.
You're supposed to be winning these college football playoffs altogether.
And now they've gone a couple years without winning a national title
and to make things worse.
Michigan has won theirs.
Finally, they have more than caught up.
You are trying to catch up to them.
So what does Ohio State do this off season?
Heartline, you're no longer OC.
We're bringing in Bill O'Brien.
I'm not calling in plays.
That's a big time move,
even though Bill O'Brien's championships have escaped him.
This is a huge move.
Hardline got demoted?
Hardline is still co-OC.
Isn't he doing all their recruiting?
Yeah, yeah, it's a dangerous game for Ryan Day to play
in bringing someone in.
No, no, you're gonna be co-OC because Brian Hardline
is one of the best recruiters in the nation.
So yeah, it's a ballsy move and I imagine Brian Hartline feels some kind of way about
it.
But what's really interesting is how they've approached recruiting and how they've approached
the portal.
Now just a few weeks ago, this was a school that was reputed to not really be having big-time
NIL deals.
That's why a lot of guys were flipping to other schools
and they were in on the portal,
but not talking to came ward really
or they had private discussions.
They brought in Will Howard,
but now they're getting everybody in the portal.
This is just a couple of weeks removed
from them saying Miami pays guys,
we don't pay to play here at Ohio State.
And by the way, some of that stuff was warranted.
In the NIL space, they had a reputation
of not having big, juicy NIL deals over there.
It's totally changed.
And the only thing that's changed to make this happen
is what happened in Michigan.
And now they're in on everybody.
They got down to God saying,
even though they just got Will Howard.
These are immense, immense NIL deals in the open market.
And they are going into this year emptying the clip.
It is, Ryan Day knows the pressure going into this season
and he's pulled out all the stops
or building up a heath.
Only because Michigan won.
That's the only reason.
It's, I don't understand. Yeah, they could be frustrated with their
own lack of success, which is, if you put that in perspective, their lack of success
is the kind of season that a lot of schools would, would kill for. To me, the only thing
that's really changed is Michigan. And they're not going to have that anymore, because there's
plenty of adults that haven't had to deal with Michigan being top of the mountain.
Is Ohio State the next team now that can live in the Alabama space of like
multiple championships in these years?
Like what's the next school that's going to take that mantle?
I think there's a lot of people that are struggling to reconcile with what this
new age of college football is.
And Ohio State really struggled for a couple of years and now they're playing
the NIL game. If you're watching in real time, Alabama fans cope publicly on their social
media channels, trying to point fingers at, well, that offensive lineman said, I will
reach out to him in the middle of the season. Get him. They did not know how charm their
existence was and that sweating the portal and Ross or turnover, which is a part of this, even the top teams,
you're gonna win some, you're gonna lose some,
you're gonna have guys flip from your team
and go to your rival.
That's, it seems insane, but it's where we are now.
And Alabama realizing this three years too late
has been really funny on social media.
Really funny.
Oh, the NCAA needs to do something about this transfer
portal. This is ridiculous.
It has been really funny to see Alabama fans freaking out, which like anyone would if your
coach who's been the best at his job for over a decade retires.
I know, but you're freaking out. You had one of the great runs in college football history.
I don't.
But they got used to it.
They did.
They've just gotten used to winning
where you lose two games in a season
and it's the worst thing that's ever happened to you.
But Tony, to answer your question,
I still think Georgia is the standard.
Georgia, they won two championships back to back
and they were fourth quarter away
from going back to the playoff this year
if it wasn't for Alabama upsetting them
in the SEC championship.
And now Saban's gone,
your biggest rival in the conference. I mean, I think the door is
still wide open for them. My favorite thing about college football is that the
offseason is so long now and there's so little that happens on the field between
January and August that we get to elevate and de-escalate coaches on and off
the hot seat in the span of like eight months when no one's even playing a game.
We're just like, ah, Ryan Day's one in the off season,
he's making hire, he's getting guys in the portal.
Ooh, the seat's getting a little cooler now,
whereas like a month ago they lose their bowl game
and it's like that seat is red hot, he's out of here.
Further answer your question, Tony,
I don't think anyone's gonna ever fill that Alabama space
the way that they had it.
A 20 year run of just always being in the conversation.
He was looking at times like this might have been
the first year that you can actually have a CFP
or national title discussion without Alabama.
He was looking that way at halftime of the USF game
and then inevitably they found their way in that discussion.
No one's really gonna ever be able to replicate that
I don't think I think it's a safe bet because we'd never seen it in
Certainly in the modern era and now with NIL while Georgia has the best shot at it
And they just suffered one loss last year is the one team they probably couldn't hmm
I just think that the talent is dispersed far more evenly throughout the nation. There's no doubt
I don't think teams are gonna hog it for as much NIL that Ohio State
has committed to this off season.
There's still plenty of talent going elsewhere.
They don't have a monopoly over the talent now.
No one does.
But even while Alabama was making that run,
I think what Tony's saying is there was room
for another team.
It was Clemson for a minute,
and then it was Georgia towards the end,
and I think we're trying to find that team
who is working the portal the best,
who is doing this, as well as Georgia is doing it.
Well, you're gonna, I think, you always have to be weary
of teams that work the portal really hard,
but don't necessarily have a super strong
recruiting class behind that,
because it's a bit of a house of cards vibes.
We'll see what happens with FSU.
But FSU and not getting to the CFP really hit that program
devastatingly because they kinda needed to sustain
that success in order to have more recruiting momentum.
Now they've gotten a lot of guys from Bama,
but they've gotten a lot of guys that didn't play at Bama.
And Nick Saban is not playing these guys for a reason.
You can slide like that.
We've seen it with Mel Tucker, slid like that.
You gotta be able to follow up the portal
with great recruiting classes.
Now not an issue for Ohio State.
The biggest issue for Ohio State is
they're a victim of their own success
because they're constantly gonna be compared
to what they did previously.
And that's an unfair standard in today's day and age.
You also still have to be a good coach
because if you just recruit well, but you don't win games,
you end up with a Texas A&M or a Miami situation.
Miami's even further from that.
Why'd you say it like that?
You're not offending me.
We'll see if you actually have to be a good coach these days.
So far, good coaches have won.
But with a 12 team playoff, it does change the math.
And it's also going to change expectations.
And I find it ridiculous.
And maybe the most ridiculous part
is I kind of understand where Ohio State fans are coming from,
because Ryan Day was just handed the controller a little bit
and wasn't their guy.
But it is an insane standard to live up to if you're him.
But the Alabama fans, they're fools.
Totally.

Don Lebatard, do you realize that for 30 minutes...
Now we might not have been doing good show, but we were doing show for about 30 minutes,
and then you just decided to tell the story as if we were in the eating area.
Stugatz!
Many refer to it as a kitchen.
Right.
Eating area.
Who calls it an eating area?
Nobody.
Nobody!
Right.
An eating area. What's the better than the sleeping area?
Let's hang on, I gotta go to the urinating area.
I'll be right back.
Eating area.
This is the Don Lebatar Show with the Stugads.
There's four teams left in the NFL playoffs.
So if you're a fan of these teams,
you're probably starting to fantasy book a trip
out to Las Vegas, all right?
So I'm speaking specifically,
because I've been blown away by the signups
by our other fans globally,
not determine, their trip not determined
on who makes it to the Super Bowl,
but some in our audience would like
to do the old double whammy.
They just want to see us?
Yeah, like maybe we're not enough of a draw,
but us and all the excitement and hullabaloo
of your team being in that game.
That's what I've always missed about not being
in a Super Bowl.
It's like when I was a Browns fan,
I just wanted two weeks of national conversation
that was about my team.
I got my helmets and logos.
Well, you got it. They got my helmet in a balloon form.
Mike, let me tell you, it's the best.
When I was in high school,
the Steelers won the AFC Championship game.
They ended up losing the Super Bowl to the Packers,
but there was an entire week I had off school
because of a huge snowstorm,
and I just watched ESPN every single day for like 20 hours,
and all they did was talk about my team
and it freaking ruled, it was the best.
They can never unprint those shirts.
No, no one in here.
Not even close.
No one.
Has felt that.
Right, well, no.
I've come close twice.
AFC Championship games, back to back, Mark Sanchez.
But that whole week's due.
You've never had the week.
You never had the hoopla.
I never had the week. Can I ask the hoopla. I never had the week.
Can I ask a question about our event?
I've gotten a couple messages from fans.
If you've RSVP'd your spot, do you have to purchase a GA ticket?
Sadium Swim at Circa Hotel February 8th and 9th at 10 a.m.
Reserve your tickets now at Circa Las Vegas dot com slash levitar.
Seems like a question he was avoiding.
It wasn't a question I was prepared to answer.
I haven't gone through it.
I'll get an answer to that.
Yeah, you go get an answer to that.
We'll let you know in the next two weeks.
Next time you embarrass us like that
without workshopping it off here,
we'll be the last time.
Understood?
Don't do that.
You make us look like a slip shot operation.
If it is the last time, Dan'll figure something out.
Tony, you're just going to do the little show from inside a pool, right?
I feel like I'm going to be shirt off in freezing weather doing something stupid, so I'm guessing...
It's not freezing, but very cold.
Like 40s.
Okay, but 40s when you're wet is totally different.
Let me just come out and say,
if you go to cirkelosvagueus.com slash lebitard
and you're a fan of our show
and you wanna be there for that.
And see Tony.
From Las Vegas and see Tony do things in a pool.
Yep.
Just go there.
Sold.
And we got you.
You're taken care of.
It's the Dan Lebitard show,
apparently not with Stu God's at Circa Swim.
I do like the idea of me not showing up
because my name's not on the sign, is that okay?
You're aware that that's on our company.
I know, I know.
You know, it's just,
someone just casually said in promotions,
oh yeah, the LeBatard show's coming here.
Right, I got it.
There isn't someone saying actually,
it's the Dan LeBatard show with Stu Gotz in there.
I got it.
So we send an email.
There should be someone
Yeah, I mean you're in the show logo
But that's nice the with two gods isn't necessarily all that important other people. I have information. It's hugely important
If you've RSVP, thank you my good save if you've RSVP do nothing else. Where's my shot?
That's all you do. Hey, you do nothing else right now to go for show up your names on the list
You'll get in, no GA ticket.
The GA stuff is just for circus stuff.
There's something, there's some area where you,
but our show, our show, if you RSVP'd, what?
What?
I'm saying there's a GA thing.
You're making it worse, I mean.
Let's say it in pencil, not in pen.
You know Andrew Street are also texting me
and I didn't have an answer for him.
You didn't have to take the same text there.
We could've done that.
And so we look, that's a hugely embarrassing look for me.
Would you watch your team if they made, would you go to the game if your team made it to the
Super Bowl? Yes. I'm not certain I would. I think I would. The Super Bowl is a hassle.
I mean, I was a couch watch for me. What was roiling inside me watching the Lions
Bucks game was, oh man, man yes I'm a bucks fan now we
might actually make it to the I was thinking in terms of we right because
I was just so in on Tampa bake I'm going actually to Tampa and there was a
scenario that was playing out that if the the Packers held on against the
the Niners they would have hosted the NFC championship game Tampa might have
might have hosted the NFC championship game and I was already ready the NFC Championship game, and I was already ready to,
I was fully prepared to change my flight,
because I'm going to Tampa for the Royal Rumble this weekend.
Little Burns?
No, I can't go to Burns,
because I'm not going with my wife.
Is it tummy?
There's a whole thing, whole thing.
One dude's bringing his wife, you don't do that,
because then you make everyone else look bad.
It's all or nothing, it's all or nothing.
You make everybody else look bad,
and in this situation, I've got like comp tickets,
so I can't just be asking
Everyone's wife comes out now all of a sudden your boy is asking for 18 tickets
Like it's really freaking selfish for you to bring your wife and family on this trip
You just put everybody in a terrible light right and someone was like we should go to Burns like my wife's already pissing
You okay bless you because in tight my wife's already pissing me because you're bringing your wife now
You want me to go to her favorite restaurant without her?
You're just, you're...
And by the way, I did have this fight with my wife.
Mission accomplished.
It's just a totally selfish move.
Why don't you just take her now?
No, I don't have a ticket for her!
Like, I don't want to take her!
Does she want to go to Royal Rumble?
I just want to have some bruise with the boys.
It's Gasparilla.
I want to be able to stand out of my seat and hear like,
oh, is that the rock's music?
Like, let me be a child.
Let me be a man boy with my friends.
They're like the old bone train, as I always say.
I don't want to.
It's not a wife's trip.
Women stay home in the kitchen where they belong.
I'm not going to comment on that right now. It's smart. Like who? The Super Bowl is expensive, Stu Gatz, right?
It's a hassle.
It's expensive, and it's a hassle.
I mean, I went to the Colts Bears,
Rex Grossman played in the Super Bowl,
I guess Peyton Manning.
Same.
That was the Prince performance.
I hit it in the rain.
Yeah, it was pouring.
I have, presently, I have sphere tickets,
even though I'm pretty sure that my sphere tickets
for you two are slightly obstructed views. I'm not presently I have sphere tickets, even though I'm pretty sure that my sphere tickets
for U2 are slightly obstructed views.
And so, I have a great view of U2,
but not a great view of the sphere,
so I may get rid of that.
But I have them for Friday night,
and our time at Circa ends on Friday.
So I was looking at hotels in Las Vegas,
if I wanted to see U2, and then, you know.
How much? It's insane. It then, you know, it's insane.
It's Super Bowl weekend.
It's crazy.
Guys, you're not gonna believe, nothing's available.
What?
There's like two hotels on the strip that got rooms.
I believe you.
That's why it's a hassle.
Like if you have a lot of money,
you can pay for it not to be a hassle.
I think if you just don't leave your room,
they can't do anything about it.
Oh no, they can come and get you.
Ah!
Trust me, they can come and get you.
In a domain?
What do you mean trust you?
Has anyone?
Somebody's kicking that door.
Squatters rights?
Exactly right.
Hotel.
They're definitely charging Metal Arc.
Well, that's not Mike's problem.
True.
So you can't get a hotel room the Friday night
before the Super Bowl.
You can just be prepared. Won't the show be over by the time we have to fly?
Like our flight's super late.
Well, I still have the Saturday morning flight.
And what I've decided is I'm just going to take my bag down to Circa,
say hold my bag and then I'll figure it out because if anyone knows how to have
a sleepless night in Las Vegas, it's your boy.
I'm not like, trust me, I'm not going to have trouble figuring that one out. Been there, done that. When the solution is, oh, I don't need Trust me, I'm not gonna have trouble figuring that one out.
When the solution is, oh, I don't need to bed if I'm not sleeping. And that's made so much more
difficult if you bring your wife. So don't bring your wife anywhere. In closing. Don't get married.
If I never got married, I would not be having that fight about not bringing her someplace.
You go to Burns, whatever you want?
Guilt free. I would love to smash some Burns.
I'm not.
Because your wife's not going.
No, because I just...
And you got married.
My wife's resentment basically is the guiding light now in all my decision making.
Finally. It's not just me
answer Billy's question though would your wife want to go see a wrestling
match I mean well my wife she admitted that she didn't but that that
quickly gets met with but that's besides the point and then it's always
besides it's always besides a point when I'm like hold up you actually
wanting to go to this is the point.
You can't besides the point the entire reason for the trip.
It's not how that one's done, but believe me,
it's always besides the point, always.
You're playing this wrong though.
You want her to think that you want her there
and then she'll say no.
But she knows I don't want her there.
Well that's how you're doing it wrong.
Wait, but how do you go about doing that?
You invite her, but then you paint a very bleak picture
of what the weekend is.
Oh yeah, you say cowboy Carl this,
and whatever the other guy's name is, that,
and he's gonna be there with a big, exactly.
You just start mentioning your friend's names,
and we're gonna do this, and we're then gonna take off
our shirts, and we're gonna ROCK,
we're all gonna spell different letters, so it says the rock, we're gonna do this, and we're then gonna take off our shirts, and we're gonna ROCK, we're all gonna spell
different letters, so it says the rock,
we're gonna do this and that,
and we're gonna dress like the new day,
and you just keep making it more and more absurd,
and she's like, that seems terrible.
Have fun with your friends.
Right, but then you find out that your friend's wife
is going, and then you're like,
and then everything is besides the point.
Right.
Did you think about maybe day of being like,
I swear babe, they wanna go to Burns tonight, I told them I'd, is besides the point right did you think about maybe day of being like I swear, babe
They want to go to burn tonight. I told him I
Reservation and you're like no
I can't believe he did that babe, you know, I wanted you to go see like I've tried that tact
I won't go babe. If you don't want me I've done that. I've done that tact I won't go babe if you don't want me I've done that I've done that I won't go to order room service that's a dangerous
game because once in a while they'll be like okay stay I'll go to Mons what
happens if you do that and they're like alright stay home this weekend yeah how
do you pivot from there bad game there's no pivot from that so I'm at a certain
point in the game that's when you lose connection what hello why is your
friend's wife going how did how was that decision made so my
friend argued that you know she's seven months pregnant and you guys want to
leave her I'm like dog what you just told me is Taylor made for you to not
bring her you don't you don't bring you know We put pregnant guys at home. She can take care of herself. You know what you, you have the balls
to tell your wife what I said,
which is I don't want you there.
This is a guys trip where we're doing guy things,
like rooting for wrestling.
Just, why is your friend going?
Right?
That's a great question.
He's gotta take one for the team there
and say, you know what, I can't go.
Honey, you can't go, I'll stay home with you. Yes. Yes. Yes
You're your lips God's ears, then you have a ticket for Cynthia. I mean
But then Mike would be the guy bringing his wife when nobody else is bringing their was cuz that guy's not there anymore
We're gonna such bags all they do is nag they want this they want that is that what I sound like no because like
look you sound sane yeah cuz I've I've had different tax I've been with my wife
for a very long time thank you Tony I've done the whole strategy that you're
saying I've done the whole strategy which is I don't even want to go on this
trip baby I wish you could go I've done that you've tried everything when you've
been in a relationship as long as I have, I've tried everything. So different tack this time.
Honey, I'm a red-blooded American male!
And sometimes us guys need to go beat guys and watch some wrestling as guys.
And I'm not going to be here answering for someone else, bringing their wife.
Can I come?
You gotta learn from Stu guys.
You book her on a trip somewhere else with her friends and then everybody's fine.
That's how you do it.
Yep.
So what if Tampa is the strip club capital of the world?
I gotta recognize the whole thing.
I don't go into those places.
I go on and off the beaten path once.
Probably the 30s.
Dead End Company is doing a residency at the Sphere.
I believe it's starting in May.
They haven't announced it yet,
but I'm telling you it's happening,
and Billy, the trips I have booked for Abby
in the month of May are legendary.
I mean, she's going away for six weeks.
That's a way to do it.
May's only four weeks. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha in the sphere after five weeks of dining company shows. And my nagging wife, she never shuts up.
Go make me a sandwich, hold my laundry, raise our children.
Oh, my wife's gonna be so pissed.
I didn't put away any laundry.
Well, she was at the dinner all those were gone.
Me neither, I gotta do the dishes too.
That's her grab.
But that's besides a point.
