You're listening to Giraffe King's Network.
I have a question for you guys and this might go nowhere.
Our manual car is still a thing.
I had a stick shift.
I haven't seen one in a while because I was talking to a friend recently and he's like,
I love my car stick shift and I love driving it and I looked at him like he had three heads.
It just seems like and I know back in the day like when you first get your license racing
cars like I was never into that but I can see the value in it there if you're trying to
race but it's just I've never known how to do it and I thought it was completely done
and the idea that there are people still out there.
You've ever driven in a car with someone, it's just like such a herky.
What I was growing up, it's just such a herky jerkies.
But they look curious. They look cool when they're driving. It's just I can't believe
that there's still people doing it. You guys know anybody?
This feels like, and I'm about to criticize myself here, but like the people who still
listen to records on vinyl, because they're like, oh, it just sounds so much better. And I am actively one of those people who does that.
But those are at least back a lot of people.
That became mainstream.
Right.
Stick shifts, no.
It's just true.
It is so like, so nope, you guys don't know of anyone in your life that is still driving
one.
A vintage car that has a stick shift, I know somebody who has like an older vintage car
that they've redone, that still drives it, but that's not their everyday driver, right?
It's like a car that they drive.
We could hard to learn these days.
I've never understood it and even more now so it's just,
it seems like such an outdated thing.
I'm not a gear head, I don't know which gear does what.
Tony, you seem like a guy that at one point
knew I had drives.
My grandfather had a Ford Explorer from 1994
that was green and it had a stick shift.
And he tried to teach me when I was like seven years old,
so I didn't install it out just constantly. I had a stick shift. And he tried to teach me, but I was like seven years old, so I didn't all know.
Just constantly.
Yeah, I could just constantly.
I had a bicycle one time that had like the gears on the bike.
Have you ever had those?
And then that would have like,
six and that's not a hard to pedal.
Yeah, I didn't even know how to do that.
I was a two guy.
Hard to, hard to pedal was me too.
I went to going uphill.
And then when you're going downhill, you,
oh, all right. So you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you bikes too. Oh, it's just like yeah, get out of here. You're all
Get out of here. Just let me have you be like I was gonna break the chain It was like a normal bike great
I got a lot of action when I was growing up is they had these clips that had like little hologram stuff on it
Little film made you glow in the dark. Oh, yeah, and made it extra safe and then when pegs
Oh the pegs that was a game changer where you do all sorts of tricks, you step on the back peg, bring,
bring Papa Wee.
Are you a front or back guy?
I was always a back peg guy, but I was the bigger guy,
so it was hard for me to sit in the front.
Yeah.
I always wanted it, like you, I was a little too big
for the front, but I wanted to be a front guy.
Got so heard on pegs.
That's when pegs came around when X games came around
and you'd just see on this.
A lot of hurt shins.
I can't.
The sad things. And then you'd have the one friend with like the G like the
the macro doubt the Mac daddy.
Yeah, like three feet on those things.
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
A lot of your expectations baseball cards in your bike pedals to try to do the the little
like.
Yeah, I never did that.
I don't know.
I didn't do that back in the day.
I wish it so I had those cards.
Yeah. I wish I still had I never did that. I never did that. I never did that.
I never did that. I never did that. I never did that. I never did that. I never did that. I never did that. I never did that. I never did that. I never did that. I never did that. I never did that. I never did that. I never did that. I never did that. I never did that. I never did that. I never did that. I never did that. I never did that. I never did that. I never did that. I never did that. I never did that. I never did that. I never did that. I never did that. I never did that. I never did that. I never did that. I never did that. I never did that Pogs? That's, I, yeah. I'm in the Pogs. My friends were in the Pogs.
You could show up with your big tube rest wrapped around your chest, put out your Pog
mat, where you got keeps?
Were you guys magic guys?
No, I never magic.
Never did magic.
Jeremy knows a couple of guys that are magic.
Jeremy has to be a big-
I hate you're a magic the gathering guy.
I hate to do not a magic the gathering guy.
But I had friends in high school who, when we were in our analysis of functions math class,
in your whole body, in your whole life.
Analysis of functions, we were so advanced
that they had to create a,
and not-
We were so advanced.
We were in like what was called
gem math in middle school.
Gem math?
Yeah, so we took geometry in middle school.
A noxious math name for 500 plays out.
Yeah, there had to be,
and because we had different
courses each semester like we got through it in just the first two quarters of the year,
they had to create like another basically bullshit math class so that way we wouldn't
be at calculus by the time we were sophomores. And in that class, my two friends Danny and
Grant who were still my friends to this day, which one do you like more? By the way, these
guys seem crazy.
Yeah, they're a lot.
Are you more in Danny or great guy?
They used to,
one of the new card tricks,
one and only one,
when it's gonna go on a ball game?
Danny or great.
They were both on my bachelor party.
Yeah, no boy.
Yeah, they were both on my bachelor party.
We went to the Georgia Aquarium.
Oh, I'm sorry, we're serious.
On trums, right?
Well, not. He's like, we had some nice, some're serious. On trums, right? Well, not.
He's like, we had some nice,
soft, tasty, sweet,
sweet, sweet, sweet.
We had a lovely, lovely time.
We had a lovely time.
What were their names again?
Danny and Grant.
Pick one.
Grant had like 30 pops.
One and only one.
Danny's a magician, no.
I'm not gonna do that.
So they played magic togethering?
I'll take that.
No, they just did card tricks during our time.
Without knowing either of them, I take Grant.
Really?
If you're on a bad support,
the only thing that's disappearing is a ping pong.
Ha ha!
