Different is calling.
We've got a couple of people who need to go to the bucket of death in moments.
Stugots could not wait any longer.
He is tired because Greg Cody has as promised, given you an hour two that was energy out the
ass.
And it made Stugots hungry.
And so he had some sort of giant meatball sandwich that I'm guessing you will hear in
his voice that he just
Shouveled into the garbage can half of it. It was steak. That's a fine. It is not a fine
The meatball family meat family sandwich is accurate enough. That's fair. Thank you
Still got to appreciate you not finding me in that instance
I hope you can do a segment that doesn't have an enormous amount of food in your mouth before we get to the green Reaper though
I want to talk about some other horror.
I don't know why it is that Mike has been so fascinated
by this new exorcist movie.
I will say to you that the shark genre somehow
has produced all sorts of efforts to copycat
what jaws did in 1978.
And the first one was the best one
forever more there is no not the Meg Meg 2 movies. Meg is good though.
No, deep blue sea. You obviously haven't looked. I have watched the Meg movies.
You have not. I have. I promise you. I, what?
Pishposh. I have, I have. You saw the trench. I, I watched only the trailer so
far to Meg to the trench. I did watched only the trailer so far to megged to the trench
I did see you need to watch it. It was a T-rex in that I know there are multiple
There are multiple
Dinosaurs in the Jason I laughed I couldn't help but laugh at loud. Oh there's stay them on a jet ski
Avoiding a giant man eating shark that kills everything else. But, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but the possession movies still stands up today somehow, even though it is antiquated, the
scenes are scary.
It has been replicated a number of different times and ways with paranormal horror.
And I was surprised to see that they were making another effort and I was intrigued enough
to check the critic rating on it at Rotten Tomatoes.
And when it came up 22%, I then stopped having interest in this
exorcist movie.
But I wanted to watch it right up until it says from critique that it's not very good.
Well, what's so interesting about this is, yes, the formula has been out there since the
original exorcist and there have been some good movies that center around demon possession
and some really bad movies
but what they don't have going for it is a tie that binds it to the original the
source material and what was so exciting
about this new exercises movie for fans of the original because the original is
right up there with with jaws and psycho
i'd say hereditary for modern audiences it's just
it is the standard in the subgenres of the genre, it is a movie
that stays with you if you watch it.
It's pretty close to holding up too,
with the extra stuff.
Shocking, shocking to watch a movie from the 70s
and to be like, yeah, that's horrifying.
Yeah, the extra stuff is still,
every, it's what I grade every other horror movie
that I see.
I saw a great horror movie last night,
the autopsy of Jane Doe.
And I'm just always kind of subtly comparing things to how scared I see. I saw a great horror movie last night, the autopsy of Jane Doe, and I'm just always kind of
subtly comparing things to how scared I was,
not just while watching the actresses,
but in the months and years after
where that movie kind of stays with you,
they brought Danny McBride in from Eastbound and Down
to come back and write some of these new films
that have a relationship to the original
like you did with Halloween.
And while the
most recent Halloween was bad, the first stab at it, no pun intended, was actually quite
good.
And as a taste maker, as the guy who's bringing you righteous gemstones at right now,
the swings that he takes are giant swings and everybody wants to work with McBride.
What is so cool about this and what got everybody's, you know, spine tingling a little bit
while watching the trailer, it's not just the original score.
It's called back to the original movie.
You see a photo of Reagan.
You see Reagan's mother in the film.
And they're actually, the universal spent a lot of money
in acquiring the rights of the original franchise
to make Reagan's experience in that original film
that is so well done and stays with people
to make that canon for a new generation.
And it's a flop.
It was the number one film at the box office
and it made back its production budget.
And that's how you spin it if you're a universal.
However, they spent $450 million
securing the rights to this.
And there is no way that they get it back
given the opening box office.
And given that,
it has a 22 presently on rotten tomatoes,
which means-
57 with the audience though.
That's bad.
Well, man. That's bad.
Because the audience is rooting for the staff.
It's a play to when they first saw this film.
And that's a huge bummer because they were kind of teasing
that Reagan would once again come back to the
franchise by seeing some of these feature reds and trailers that they put out there.
And now there's no other reasons to make additional exercises.
This was supposed to be part of a trilogy.
And I don't think we're going to see a part two or three.
Isn't this also part of giving the hottest thing in creativity, a man who can make comedy
when it's harder than ever to make comedy.
One of the whims like they gave Jordan Peel the ability to go ahead create something.
Here's a budget.
Here's how you work artistically at the top of your craft.
You can make righteous gemstones on the side and have it be funny.
But here is Danny McBride, as the guy who comes after McKay and that last generation stiller, the last
generation of funny, you can make whatever you want, McBride.
Here, have at it.
Has fun.
He very clearly loves horror because he was involved with Halloween and that first attempt
at the reboot did that franchise so right and it made legacy fans really happy with how
that came out.
So to hear that he was going to be involved with the the exorcist franchise
Really got a lot of people excited about it, especially with the canon of the older movie being involved because they acquired the rights
But we're not watching a rival. We're not watching when it comes out to digital. I will but I was
I was you were rent your theater. I'm not a good good scary movie I'm celebrating spooktoper right now I'm watching all
sorts of scary movies this one makes me more intrigue to actually watch the
original one because I've never seen the original exercise and I don't know
if it's I'd be curious if you I'd be curious if you think it's hard to watch
any movies from the seventies I think a lot of people listening to this might
say it doesn't necessarily hold up but the horror scenes to me given the time period were legitimately horrifying.
When Mike talks about a movie staying with you for years, now maybe you're watching it
through a child's eyes.
I know the first nightmare on Elm Street did that to me.
I hit under my parents bed for like a year and a half.
Yeah, but I didn't see it until 2012. What? But Freddie. Freddie as you grow older, become something silly.
Whereas, you know, Linda Blair is still the practical effects.
It's still very scary.
I recently went to Washington DC and if you put in the exercise in your Uber ride, you
can go to the stairs.
It's just an iconic piece of cinema and I thought he was going to do what he did with the
first Halloween and not so much what he did with the first Halloween,
and not so much what he did with the most recent Halloween,
which is honor it properly,
and get me excited and breathe new life into something
that's often duplicated, but never quite replicated,
in the way that the original one was,
and it seems like they whiffed.
No third shot is what you're predicting.
McBride will not get, unlike Jordan Peele,
he will not get more horror shots.
I was hoping for Linda Blair to return
to the makeup and everything
because her career has been interesting
because she had to make a movie with Leslie Nielsen
making fun of it because she terrified everybody.
Right, type K. Yeah.
It was a real horror.
Let's go ahead speaking of real horrors.
The Grim Reaper has not yet shaken off being called out
in a meeting for being late and also has been
complaining. He's been complaining about his health benefits around here. He can't get a hold of
anybody to help him fill out his paperwork. The Reaper is a disgruntled employee right now.
He's dead. Who's selecting Tony and who else? Tony and Billy and Greg Cod Cody. Tony, Billy, Stu and Greg Cody, and it's all brought to you by KFC's new hot and spicy
wings, order an ap's of the new hot and spicy wings for $4.99.
Participating KFC today.
It's finger-licking.
Good.
Thank you, KFC, for sponsoring the Bucket of Dept.
Now, am I correct me if I'm wrong here?
I got the golden helmet last week, right?
So I'm good.
I'm not picking today. Yeah, that's true. You had the swap helmet, and I knew that you I'm wrong here? I got the Golden Helmet last week, right? So I'm good, I'm not picking today.
Yeah, that's true.
You had the swap helmet, and I knew
that you would want to swap with me.
So you got my Golden Helmet of Life,
and I thankfully got your Chargers, which was a buy.
Tony has, we've got a couple of buys this week.
The Packers and the Steelers.
Tony has selected.
What do you have in your hand, Tony?
I've got the best helmet I could have pulled.
The San Francisco 49ers.
The 49ers are a five point favorite at the Brown.
They could lose their game.
Only a five-year, of course.
That's the best helmet.
That's the best helmet.
Browns are also coming off of a buy, which might explain the very tiny spread there, but...
He's keeping it.
You got to keep them.
You got to keep the 90s.
You know, to Sean Watson, either who's that last one.
Don't keep it.
Lots of better.
I'll keep it.
There's no...
That is got a 49er bet by Chris Cody and Stugat, right?
All of the Browns only.
Road favorite by getting five at home.
That's a football bet.
A chalk road fave.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
Get it now before it goes up.
The Grim Reaper has put his arm around.
Billy, Billy's big board bet.
I picked the the Browns, so I'm going to put that back. Billy Billy's big board back. I picked the the brass so I'm gonna put that back.
Billy your big board bet of the week one two of the three came in this week.
Yeah, two and one this week.
What was the one you were most excited about?
The who was it?
The wide receiver.
No, I was gonna say the under was the under for the.
I think that's Bill's well done.
Great sell, Bill.
Thank you.
I appreciate you got his name. I appreciate you. Oh, you're good work bills are minus 14 against either Tyrod Taylor or Daniel Jones
I'm Davis and I'd promote what he was trying to help
I work God bless football everybody
Yeah, God bless football
Go listen to God bless football where they take over three to half yards. You got ten very serious
You can win bets and they promote their stuff very well.
I was doing multitasking.
You know what I mean?
At his hand in the back.
I will say this, Dan, something I've never,
I've never felt before.
It was a power that I didn't know that I was capable of.
So when we predicted it on Davis Wix was four and a half
over under and by the time the game started with seven and a half,
we moved that line.
We moved the line.
We moved the line.
Yep.
He ended up with one catch for 10 yards. Yeah, yeah. Second week of safety for Sue Godts. We move that line. Move the line. Yep. He ended up with one catch for 10 yards.
Yeah, yeah.
Second week of safety for Sue Godds, we move on to Craig.
Truly useful.
It was five, Dan.
That's it.
The big board.
It brought us together as a community.
Two in one, the big board.
We're all rooting for, you know, one underdog.
What was the one you got wrong?
Uh, I had the Packers plus.
So we have big money coming in when Billy gives his picks.
Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah.
Greg Cody is picking.
That was the rummage.
Greg's Lobos.
Wow.
Let me see that helmet on.
The AMFFT.
Wow.
That's not true at all.
He's got the Chicago Bears.
He just wants to talk about Greg's Lobos.
I don't want the bears in there.
The bears are a three- point dog at home against the
Viking. No Jefferson. No Jefferson. You should consider those
things. You should consider that great. It's already back in
even then. Even then Tennessee. Oh my god. Now they're due.
They're three and a half point underdog at home against the Ravens.
Wow. Crest fallen. The Ravens are the Raven Ravens how many drops did they have how poor
Did they play against the Steelers what was that what was that Tomlins got that voodoo. That's just
Crazy in first place again
What how do you kill the man what can we talk about the punch TJ watch is absolutely thrown in a maker
They were
Hidden right in the esophagus we talked talked about this yesterday just a straight out punch.
This is what football's becoming the ending.
Who's gonna stop TJ White from punching all your best players?
Tomlin has the same record as the bills.
You okay, Greg?
Yeah, I was looking for the cough button.
It just appeared.
Hour two.
hour two
