Hey yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo Yeah, I do that whenever I talk to like a fellow Latino. I have a good sometime. Oh yeah, yeah. That's what it is.
I had the benefit of it.
I have fellow Latino when you talked, got it.
Okay.
Yeah, listen, I know you're trying to get into whatever this is,
but I don't have to get into anything.
I'm at the light all the time.
I got bona fide on the silence.
I'm the one, my boy.
Yo, yo, I'm valid.
Yo, yo, yo, you don't have to worry about it.
I'm the guy yelling at you from the stands
with a claw and one hand and a Mark,
Mark Lait Sadie and Shaking the other, telling, telling you show because you're going to the show.
So I don't know why they pitched to you.
I don't know why they pitched you.
It's stupid.
Do you, are you like why are they pitching to me?
This is stupid.
This is stupid.
Sometimes it's driving and I left him like, what are you doing?
It's work.
It's work sometimes.
I got to me sometimes.
Mike wants to be on your team.
So bad. I am on his team. I am on his team.
He wants to be in your dugout so bad. I mean, the more wasting you know, I am on the
team. She and then we got the home run card going. Yeah, I'll push it one day.
Dan, Dan, you're talking to a guy that's going to be in the show one day. Yo, yo.
Does he have the confidence? Does he carry him?
Does he have the confidence? I know he hits the ball very, very,
Braddock, Bobby. I know he has the ball very hard. I know he's got some Latin swagger,
but I'm asking you guys, if he has major league confidence, yeah, easy.
He answered the question. That's how confident he is. Yeah, you know,
this guy's good to be in the process. This is this is a first round
draft pick. This if you watched our run last year, you'd know that you don't pitch to
yo-yo and because NCAA rules are weird when you decide to go to college baseball, he was
he stuck in college because he would have been able to go to the pros right then and
there. He comes back and they're still pitching to this guy. Why on earth would
you pitch to yo yo? All right. We'll talk about his greatness in a second. We'll talk about
the University of Miami being excellent at baseball again, harkening back to previous
years when that was the program at Miami that was better than any of the programs. I'd
like to get to his story for a second because his father played on the Cuban national team.
Thank you for joining us, yo.
What can you tell us about your father's baseball story,
your origin story, and how much soaked in Cuban lore
you have, and how Americanized you've become?
I mean, everybody asked me, I'm American.
I was born here in Miami, so I'm American, but obviously got everybody up
from the Cuban side, all my family was Cuban.
Just me and my sister were the only ones born here,
but I mean, yeah, my dad started playing Cuba
and he would play there for the national team.
There's a couple of videos there on YouTube
and some homeruns.
He always wants to show me those.
And next to tell me that he's better than me,
but I don't know about that one.
You know, every that is, you know,
how hard he is on me growing up. So he used to hit baseball. It's not like two guys around
ball. He used to hit him at me. So I could, I used to run from him and he used to hit baseball
that mean, you know, it's like a do better, but I mean growing up, he's helped me throw
out my whole career. So I'm thankful for everything he's done for me.
Well, you say, you don't know about that though, when he says that he's better than you are.
So your response to him when he said that he was better than you was no shot no chance
Few people are man
Like you like some guy when all these Cubans I was Cuban shot tell me oh
He tells me I see people still know me, he doesn't know that. Nobody knows you.
Ha ha ha, they know yo yo.
I know what Dan's dying to do here
and talk about like what this program was built on,
but this isn't about the past.
Yo yo is now, yo yo is the future, yo yo went to Braddock
and you went to Braddock.
So how many date nights did you have at Finka?
How many, how many, how many dinners at Finka have you had?
Nah, I've had a co-op. Yeah, yeah. How many purpose had how many dinners at finca have you had now that I co
How many purpose had you like an audio?
Explained to us how Braddock you are explain to the audience here super deep local cut how Braddock are you?
Reveal how Braddock ever you know what I mean. You're talking to him listen to him
Fancy night out as a finger. Oh, I'm brother
Bradix and oh, I still go to bed. I think that's how Bradigg is he still goes to Braddock
I got a little spot. We called the little have I know spy and over there bad I got a lot of humans right right they hang out Yeah, we're gonna palisate teen for a night out now pass 18
I'm dating myself old but OG's know that it's always palisate team
What can you tell us about how you ended up at Miami?
Were you gonna be at Miami from the time that you were a kid? Were there any other choices?
And we obviously my my goal was become a major league baseball player and just things that
don't work out the way I want it to out of high school. And I made a choice to come to
University of Miami and I feel like it's paid off to him at three years.
So what happened though when you say things didn't pan out in high school? How does it come
to be that you go from whatever it is that you were feeling coming out of high school
to somebody who's projected
as a first round pick.
I mean, I just felt under the value of going,
going into the drop down, wasn't gonna get what I,
what I thought I deserved and I felt like going
to college was my best choice and just working get better.
So I could potentially one day become a first round
and get things going.
Yeah, and he'll be a first rounder.
Did you ever play Flagami or Red Berry? Oh, Red Berry?
Yeah, did you ever play any of these past hitty-and-me-parf?
Did you ever see Ozzy Kinseko at sluggers?
Uh-huh.
Sluggers, I've played everywhere, but you can take it.
Yeah, I've been there.
Did you ever cross-trained running up the hill at Tropical?
I'm going to send you these.
To the Toge Park.
No, I'm going to the Toge Park for Softwa.
Yeah, they got some good beer league teams over there.
I can't lie.
They've got the full uniforms over there. I can't lie.
They got the full uniforms over there.
Yo, yo, it's gonna be so sick when you're in the show
because you're one of us.
That's not a question.
That's a declarative statement.
I love you wasn't a question.
You've been doing this all week.
I still don't know what Braddock is.
That's on you.
Yeah, I got him before Bush.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Oh, please advance further this year.
We need to go to Omaha. We need all the we need all the Braddock boys going to Omaha
Oh, yo, yo, my huh. I'm going to Omaha. They're coming for sure. Yeah, let's go
Oh, sure is gonna be there. He told me I've never been there. I'm going with you guys
I don't go out with you guys all day. Bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, bap, you know, that song, it's like 12 years older than you at least. Yo, yo, no, I didn't know about the songs.
I got here.
Everyone's like, I will get him over to this.
Yeah, that's our tradition.
Man, I love you so much.
You're going to be so great in the pros.
You break, stop.
You break.
You please stop.
You're embarrassing.
You're embarrassing because you know what?
If you're not there on a Tuesday against
with Thune Cookman, you're not allowed to go to your Yomahawk.
All right, I'm out there.
Every, well, whatever the other teams are in playing,
I'm out there at the light having a shake.
You're here on Friday?
Friday night at the light?
I'll be there on Friday.
I'm coming from a funeral.
That's how you know.
Like I'm going there suited, suited, ready to go to your Yomahawk.
Going to be a game first?
No, on Friday, there's no game.
Just a funeral that I'll leave early.
So I'm gonna go over there to Westchester
to that Boston market,
the former Boston market that became a funeral home.
And then I'm gonna leave there and go to the light
and watch you guys get down.
That's going to get a week on.
Beat up on May,
main, beat up on May,
and have myself a main Marklyde shake,
which actually has lobster in it.
And then I'm gonna see you take down either the Raging Cajuns
or Texas, because last time you guys hosted a regional,
you lost an Ole Miss, which was a Cinderella story.
Bunch of good guys, I met them all at the urinal
because it's weird over there at Mark Light's stadium,
they have to share the same bathroom.
They were still pitching to you, I don't know why,
but we fell short in our journey to Yo-Yo Mahaw.
You cannot let me fall short this time because all the other teams have made a deep run.
We had the women's basketball team, we had the men's final four team, and we got the
four to panthers, we got the Miami Heat.
I need to do Delta.
Did you interview here?
No, it's so annoying.
It's so annoying.
Like it's a golf.
Oh, I'm sorry.
Would you like to hear about 1995?
I'd like to hear about Yo-yo and not my cry.
You are hearing about yo-yo.
Yo-yo is my cry.
I'm not crying.
I'm not crying.
I'm not crying.
I'm not crying.
I'm not crying.
I'm not crying.
I'm not crying.
I'm not crying.
I'm not crying.
I'm not crying.
I'm not crying.
I'm not crying.
I'm not crying.
I'm not crying.
I'm not crying.
I'm not crying. I'm not crying. I'm not crying. I'm not crying that product for the Christian. Tell me about the shakes. Are you able to
eat whatever you like or can you are you careful about your eating? Do you have to avoid the shakes
or because the amount of exercise you're doing you're able to eat the most of them. I'm an
other drinker. I want it to you know, do you know Ernie Pedron? Oh for the love of God. You
handle the rest of this. No, no, no, no, no, no.
But you know, Ernie Patron, everyone knows Ernie.
Ernie.
Who's Ernie?
Don't worry about it.
I think he got thrown out of the game, but again,
there's a Florida Christian baseball.
The state changed to no 4th, by the way.
The way.
Any amount of tables on that team.
Yeah, the day of Monty.
The day of Monty's kid was on that team.
I don't want to be dating myself too much.
I got to do the Jello shots in Omaha
That's something I haven't been able to do because baseball even though we're always in the conversation
We're not able to get past that super regional hurdle. So yo yo, I don't know how much longer
I got you over here at Mark light stadium. You're gonna need to make it happen for me. All right, dude
Yes, you're there. That's our goal. We're going. Yeah. I don't know man
I don't know if you got enough pitching like everyone keeps telling me that I don't know if you got enough pitching. Like everyone keeps telling me that.
I don't know if they have enough pitching
and that you know what that means.
Yo, yo, you got a mash.
You got a mash.
We trust our pictures, we trust our hitting.
Where's gonna get it done?
Timely hitting and timely mashing.
All right, bombs only.
I tell everybody that the ball sounds-
The balls can't be defended, so I'll take those all day.
I tell everybody that the ball sounds different
when it comes off your bat.
And then I'm reminded that you guys actually play
with aluminum bats, and that's why that happens.
Yeah.
Oh, it sound the same as a wood.
No, coming off 100 or something else for hours, yeah.
You're not worried about switching to wood bats,
you're gonna, you're gonna break up in the pros too.
God, you're gonna make so much money.
You realize that, like, you're like,
on the precipice of a huge life changing event,
and you're just gonna be so good at the pros. Hopefully that'll be nice. Dude, you're going to, you're going to bring
Braddock to the show and I cannot wait. Yeah, get tickets everybody because
UM-Bassball is, where did that, where did Dan, where did suit God's going?
Dan was upset when you brought up Bernie Petrone. Not doing this anymore.
Well, you got to know Ernie Petrone. He's like one of the Godfathers of
the very baseball. Dan was very upset when you said Ernie Petrone.
You know Ernie Petrone. Everyone knows Ernie Petrone. like one of the godfathers of very you know any
every
it do you go to the
L.A. fitness in which
six nine got jumped in
yeah, I've been there.
Yeah, I mean,
it's not the one on a street
though. Yeah,
what's your L.A.
fit? Where do you play
basketball at?
I do.
But it's been a
lot. I haven't been there
anymore. Yeah. You can go to the one on Kendall on Saturday mornings
We'll play with you. That would be an original
Come back when you come back. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'll buy you by city pizza too. Yeah
Is this the least professional interview you've ever done yo-yo?
Yeah
Professionalism we're here talking with our bros
Yeah, 100%. Yeah, professionalism.
We're here talking with our bros.
That's it.
Might be screaming at it.
That's the best one.
That's the best one though.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I'll be behind the batter circle once again.
Drink a one hand, more Clyde shake in the other,
telling you show.
That's stomach by the way.
Show.
Yeah.
Why do you think I'm always complaining about this?
Some of you think I got the self discipline
actually reigning the diet?
Now I'm gonna keep living because I'm planning
for Jello shots in Yo-Yo-Mahaw.
All right, you've got to make that happen.
Who else is the goal?
All right, get your tickets now, the regional,
being hosted in Coral Gables,
Mark Leight's hitting you guys, start off with Maine.
Guys, you got a smash, Maine.
I'm sorry, no slipping up against Maine.
We got to set up like against Texas.
Come on.
You got to play your best game against anybody.
All right, I need you and the pitchers to play your best game against anybody. All right.
Well, I need you and the pitchers to play their best game too,
because I'm a little worried about the pitching, yo, yo.
Okay.
I'm not worried.
All right.
I'm just saying, it's been, it's, I'm a golden cane,
as you probably already heard.
And athletics is really turning around.
I've given more and more resources to the athletic department.
What I need to come online is a space ball team,
because daddy needs a trip to Omaha.
Okay. We got you. We're gonna take a good Omaha. All right. Thank you, yo, yo. Shout out to Braddock. What I need to come online is the space ball team because daddy needs a trip to Omaha, okay?
We got you, we're gonna take it Omaha.
All right, thank you, yo-yo, shout out to Braddock.
What is Braddock again?
Braddock.
4-1-4.
There you go.
All right, yo-yo.
Wait, what?
That's not what it was.
No, it was not for all the other ones.
That was not what it was.
No, no, no, no, no, no.
One, four.
Close it.
One, four, four.
Yeah, there you go. Boys. Yeah, all right. I'll see see you after we win the regional.
See you at the top of the hill at Tropical Park, right?
Yo, yo, I never really know.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, well, it's the hardest workout that you can get.
It's the highest point in South Florida.
Yeah.
Yeah, yo, yo, see you after my funeral on Friday.
See you, yo, see you after my funeral on Friday.
All right.
