Starting point is 00:00:00 You're listening to DraftKings Network. Welcome to the Big Sui, presented by DraftKings. Why are you listening to this show? The podcast that seems very similar to the other Dan LeBattard podcast. I'm sorry, I'm not going to apologize for that. In fact, the only difference seems to be this imaging. I have been tempted in restaurants just walking past tables to grab somebody's fries
Starting point is 00:00:33 that if they're just there. That hasn't happened to you guys? I've done it. And now here's the marching man to nowhere, fat face and the habitual liar. If you love Puck the way that I love Puck, if you've just casually followed hockey and you're familiar with a couple of names,
Starting point is 00:00:51 Sidney Crosby is certainly one of the names that you'd be familiar with. And what he is doing this season, it might be his greatest season yet. It's just his third 40 goal season. The Pittsburgh Penguins were sellers at the deadline and nobody told Sidney Crosby. You can't knock this man right now unless you're Roy Bellamy who will find a way to keep the big going and hate on Sidney Crosby. And if you're going
Starting point is 00:01:20 to keep it going now, there's just no stopping it, Roy. Yes, I'm going to keep it going. A thousand assists, bruh. Yes, a thousand assists in his career. They're trying to shoehorn him into the heart trophy discussion. Who's they? They, the entire hockey community is trying to do that. The haters and losers.
Starting point is 00:01:36 Take news media. They are Sidney Crosby himself. He basically, they had essentially an elimination game last night with the Detroit Red Wings. He gets a game winning assist, he had a goal in that game, he had another assist I think. He has a hand in basically all their goals right now at his age with really nothing much around him. I know they have Carlson on the defense, he had the game winning goal, but his teammates
Starting point is 00:02:03 are either past their prime or trying to find their place in this league. What he is doing right now is amazing, and we actually got a really exciting playoff chase for the final two spots in the Eastern Conference. I know everyone's looking at the top, and these teams, I don't think they have any legitimate shot to win it. They're just all frisky. Maybe Sid the kid can be annoying to a top seed or whatever. But they've night in and night out delivered and you have four teams separated by what? A single point right now? Yeah, one point. I think the Allenders got it in the Metro. They got the third spot. But yeah, it's between the Penguins, Capitals, Red Rings
Starting point is 00:02:40 and Flyers and the Red Rings had no business getting one point out of that game last night. They should have absolutely lost in regulation. They played, it was bad. Capital's bad loss last night to the Buffalo Sabres who are dead, a dead ass team right now. Panthers have them. It was great to see Jeff Rimmer get honored, by the way. Do you have a Jeff Rimmer interview coming up?
Starting point is 00:03:01 Yes, we got Jeff Rimmer on the hockey show today. Yes, it was great reminiscing with him. It was an honor to talk to him. Fuck, fuck. Roy, did they ever find the missing Yager bobbleheads? Fuck, boy. I don't believe they did. Yeah, no, they did.
Starting point is 00:03:13 They did? Yeah, yeah, yeah, they got them. They found them. Did they give it to the fans? The mystery is over. I was pretty sure they did because there was a certain day they had to get them by or else they were gonna have to like reschedule everything
Starting point is 00:03:22 and it was gonna be a disaster. But I read a story in the athletic about the heist. And I guess a truck showed up to the shipment place pretending to be the right people, and it was heist people, thieves, and then they were like, ah, shit, it's just yonder bobbleheads. God damn it.
Starting point is 00:03:38 It all goes back to E.P. It's like something out of Goodfellas. All right, so. Why do you hate Sidney Crosby? Because he was shoved down our throats during his rookie season They really that was the that was the least golden boy. I was really tired years ago Day, and I don't like him promise he fulfilled the promise and what he's doing now at this age in his career
Starting point is 00:03:59 It's truly something to behold. I think you need to give the man the flowers to know okay Tony I know you've heard the name Sydney Crosby. The kid. Have you heard the name Connor McDavid? The other kid. Well, McJesus, Edmonton Euler, all right. I'm gonna, we're gonna play right now. We're playing with fire.
Starting point is 00:04:18 Spoiling the NHL playoff edition of Who That Is, by the way. Oh really? I don't know what he looks like, I mean. No, Connor McDavid, great player. For the last several years, called McJesus. The working assumption was he was just going to start collecting heart trophies. That's the MVP award in that sport. Probably in the conversation is the best active athlete going right now.
Starting point is 00:04:40 And that's a sport with, in terms of skill level, he was always top of the heap. Have you heard the name Nathan McKinnon? No. Stanley Cup champion, great player for the Colorado Avalanche. And I have a take and Nathan McKinnon is presently favored on DraftKings Sportsbook as the the hard trophy winner with good reason. I think we are here and I can't believe I'm going to say this because I was one of these Connor McDavid truthers. I mean just watch the player and he has three heart trophies. He's an incredible player. Nathan McKinnon in my opinion has surpassed Connor McDavid. Nathan McKinnon right now is the best hockey
Starting point is 00:05:16 player alive and if you haven't been watching what Nathan McKinnon is doing, number one shame on you, great local broadcast by the way. If you want like, Vin Scully vibes, late night with the Colorado Avalanche and those two guys being loose, and you watch guys like Kale McCarr, Miko Rantanen, and you have Nathan McKinnon at the center of it all. Smooth skating, fast as all get out.
Starting point is 00:05:41 Great vision on the ice, amazing with assists, can score almost at will, amazing moves. These are all things that you can say vision on the ice, amazing with assists, can score almost at will, amazing moves. These are all things that you can say, by the way, about Connor McDavid. And I just never thought somebody, as Connor McDavid is still approaching his prime or just at the very beginning of his prime, someone could actually meet him at that summit and surpass him. And that's exactly what Nathan McKinnon has done. Yeah, I think he's got the hard trophy this season. It's between him, Nikita Kuturov.
Starting point is 00:06:07 Is it the kid? No, no. Austin Matthews is in it too. And in 2025, we're gonna actually have, but it's not truly like a World Cup of hockey. Russia's not in it, by the way, which is not great, but we understand why. There's four nations, it's a four nations tournament.
Starting point is 00:06:22 If you look at that Team USA roster, you'll drool. Like, US hockey is loaded. If we were famously booking lines, that scoring line number one might be Austin Matthews and the Kachuk brothers. They have the best goalies, the US has the best goalies in the league right now, so I cannot wait for that. It's in Boston and Montreal.
Starting point is 00:06:42 Yes, sir. It's gonna happen in the middle of the season next year. Yeah, they are replacing the All-Star Game of it. That's awesome. I can't wait for that. So I'm gonna- Before the show, an idea was tossed out that I wasn't sure was a good idea.
Starting point is 00:06:54 And at this segment, I think it is a good idea. And it was hockey player or UFC fighter. And then you just give the name. Speaking of the UFC, right? Miko Rin is a tough one. Just look at the ears, the hammer. No, by name alone. Bruh, UFC 300 is loaded.
Starting point is 00:07:12 Oh my goodness, my boy got UFC hangout this weekend again. Talk to him about it, Tony. MMA hangout at Grails in Winnwe. We're gonna be hanging out, a massive card, top to bottom, seven champions, former UFC champions fighting on the card. It's incredible. We're gonna do hanging out a massive card, top to bottom, seven champions, former UFC champions fighting on the card. It's incredible. We're gonna do more stuff later on, and we're previewing the entire card on the show
Starting point is 00:07:32 and on YouTube later on, so check that out in a couple hours, but... What a blessing, by the way, from UFC, that every card is the biggest card. Yeah, it's really amazing. It's just some great work by them, every single one. If you just so happen, this is in Las Vegas, right? USC 300.
Starting point is 00:07:46 If you just so happen to be in Las Vegas, why don't you fire up that Game Time app and see if you can get some last second tickets on the secondary market with the best secondary market app there is in Game Time. Does anyone else feel like Billy just turned a year older and just decided he gave even fewer f*** than he used to? How so?
Starting point is 00:08:03 What does that even mean? Let's refrain from cursing during the read. Download the Game Time app, create an account, and use GoDan for $20 off your first purchase. Terms apply, last minute tickets lowest price guaranteed. You can see what your view would be like from your seat. No surprise, yeah, there are fees. That's how companies make money, but it's upfront.
Starting point is 00:08:20 They're not gonna surprise you with it. They're reasonable. I use Game Time all the time, you know it. I'm no BS in here. Every time I'm in a city, I'm gonna be using Game Time a ton during the NHL playoffs. I don't know if you've seen those Toronto Maple Leafs prices, but I'm kinda rooting
Starting point is 00:08:33 for Tampa at this point, because those prices, it's honestly like $2,500 a ticket. Didn't even know it was a read because it was so organic. Thank you so much. Shout out to Game Time. But Tony, let's talk about UFC 300 briefly. Now, I know that this is a good card. People that follow the sport know that this is a good card.
Starting point is 00:08:50 However, UFC 300, it's a bit of a surprising card, and I know that they were really reaching for the stars with this card, and certain things didn't work out. Like for example, Edwards not being on UFC 300 is a little bit bewildering, and I know that they tried. Why is this card, even though it's a great card, best card ever, not, in my opinion, it's lacking the star power that you usually see. If you see UFC 100 and you compare the names and those were, it was just such an illustrious card top to
Starting point is 00:09:17 bottom. These are all great fighters and Dana went all out and trying to create the best card imaginable, but he didn't actually land those punches I think What the casuals are looking at saying that this isn't the best card because of the headliner right when you have? Alex bed eight of versus Jamal Hill champ by the way. That's his boy But when you look at that headline, you're like, uh, like we could have done way better, right? I know that they were trying to book Izzy They were trying to book Drake is duplicity, which would have been great couldn't happen
Starting point is 00:09:43 They tried to book Leon Edwards couldn't happen. They tried to book Leon Edwards, couldn't happen. They tried to book John Jones off of injury, couldn't happen. It's like Conor McGregor, Michael Chandler, that was supposed to be it, couldn't happen. So there's a lot of swing and misses in that headlighting fight, but if you look down the actual card,
Starting point is 00:09:59 there's an argument to be made that Alex Pereira has the best 11 fight lead up into the UFC and the stretch out of anybody ever in the UFC like he's already double champion two weight divisions middleweight and light heavyweight he's defending that champion against another former champion who is who is taken away from the belt because of an injury but you look at Max Holloway versus Justin Gaethje the BMF belt yeah that's an absolute banger. Kayla versus Holly Holm, oh my God. And that's in the prelims. What do you think this fight of the night's gonna be?
Starting point is 00:10:28 Bro, I'm locked in on Kayla Harrison, Holly Holm, bro. Holly Holm will always have a special place in my heart for some reason, bro. She's just a, like she's a warrior, bro. So when I see her- I know the reason why she has a special place in my heart. Even though Ronda keeps trying to take it away from her. Right, exactly.
Starting point is 00:10:42 So me seeing her go up against Kayla, I always have a little fear in my heart for a little bit of the players I really love. So I'm anticipating that. John Way Lee fighting again. Come on, bro. Strongweight title against Yan-Zhan Nan. Yeah, big fight.
Starting point is 00:10:56 Charles Olivera, come on. That to me, I think if you're going to watch one fight that is not the headliner, I think Charles Olivera, excuse me, against Armin Serukian Yeah, um, he is Charles is one of the legends of this game Has fought a ton he's fighting an up-and-comer But just as we saw in UFC 299 where we had Dustin Poirier versus Benoit Santoni It was like the changing of the old guard Charles Oliver a part of that old guard in the lightweight division and you're looking at Armin Serukian is like, alright This is the next guy up after everybody but it feels
Starting point is 00:11:26 like the old guard has kind of held still and fought off the young guys so that's another Aljo versus Calvin Kater yeah it's a sack hard but again like in terms of like casual fans these aren't really names that are gonna draw people Dana so there's seven former champions or active champions in this fight yeah right the number 300 is what the draw is. Sure, of course. Dana says it's going to do- You're a pro-Hawks.
Starting point is 00:11:48 There's- It's not. Real UFC fans know right now. Thank you. Dana says it's going to do more than a million pay-per-view buys. OK. That's what it's trending to, which is a huge number.
Starting point is 00:11:57 I think it's third all time after two massive Conor fights. So it's trending towards looking like a monster, monster win for them. We'll see. I don't see it. The headliner here is the fact that it's UFC 300. And so maybe some people are just drawn to that and know that in terms of the sport,
Starting point is 00:12:16 this will be regarded as a good card, and they'll just tune in or go to their local blast area and watch it. Or Grails. Head over to Grails if you're in Miami. MMA Hangout presented by Cuervo. That's right, we'll be out there hanging out. Just come enjoy the Vives.
Starting point is 00:12:31 UFC 300 is going to be incredible. As we close this live hour here, this hour on Max, check us out on Max, search us out, there was a story yesterday that went pretty underreported, tucked away in Jason Day's front pocket, buried by the death of OJ Simpson and E. Pay being a bad gambler. Tom Brady opened the door to a comeback.
Starting point is 00:12:53 He wants to come back. He said if a team needs an emergency quarterback, he's there at the end of the season to be their emergency quarterback. He's coming back. The Dan Libertard Show with Stu Gotz is sponsored by BetterHelp. It's time for a self check-in.
Starting point is 00:13:07 How's your social battery doing right now? Is it drained or is it bursting with energy? Similar to how a battery stores energy before eventually running out, individuals with a social battery may feel a need to recharge or withdraw from social situations after a certain amount of time. It can be easy to ignore our social battery and spread ourselves thin, especially with work or social gatherings. What's the right amount of socializing for you? How do you recharge? Maybe you thrive around people or maybe you need some time alone. Therapy can give you the self-awareness to build a social life that doesn't drain your battery. If you're thinking of starting therapy, give BetterHelp a try. It's entirely online,
Starting point is 00:13:40 designed to be convenient, flexible, and suited to your schedule. Just fill out a brief questionnaire to get matched with a licensed therapist and switch therapist at any time for no additional charge. Are you back on the caffeine? Are you back on the caffeine? Are you back on the Red Bull? Something's wrong. Yes. See, we are. Something's wrong. I mean, it's unbelievable how manic he is and he sort of just, he keeps, you know, chewing
Starting point is 00:14:19 on his bottom teeth in a way that's scaring me a little bit. Stugats. I've been up since 5.30 a.m. producing content. And in terms of being able to be on, my body needs a little boost. And that's why I turned to cocaine. This is the Don LeVatar Show with the Stugats. Tony, Mike, I am hungry bear hurting right now.
Starting point is 00:14:45 I need to sober up. And the only thing that can do it is a honey mustard chicken from hungry bear bacon strips, extra sauce, some red onions, maybe some mushrooms too. I'm feeling frisky. I tell them chicken all the way, which is onions, peppers, mushrooms. I tell them extra provolone. I tell them chopped bacon. The worry that I've had recently, an epiphany that I've had about the chopped bacon, I haven't seen them make it because obviously Hungry Bear are very tight inside. I usually go wait outside, wait till they bring me the sub, right? So my worry is with the chopped bacon,
Starting point is 00:15:17 are they chopping the amount of bacon that I would get if it was strips or not? I hadn't considered this. I just thought of that the other day. Because when they chop up the bacon, it just permeates throughout the entire sub and the entire sub tastes like bacon, and that's fine, some people really like bacon that way.
Starting point is 00:15:29 I don't really like bacon all that much. I like it, it's a textural thing for me. Not all the way, yeah. So I go bacon strips, and then I still maintain the chicken flavor, while having the nice little crunch of the bacon. So if you're ever in Hungry Bear, which is for my money,
Starting point is 00:15:42 I know we have really good ones up north, Lespatas. Lespatas is great, but different sub. Lespatas is my place as a Broward guy. I've never been to a Hungry Bear, actually. Hungry Bear, there's actually randomly like. But you've probably never been by Miami-Dade or the airport. Yeah, there's one by Miami Springs. I had no idea that one existed, but the OG one.
Starting point is 00:16:00 That one feels blasphemous. If I'm going to Hungry Bear, it's going to 104th right in front of Kendall. I broke my neck looking at the, driving to the highlight draft. I passed it. I was like, what? How did I, I didn't even know this existed. There's only one Hungry Bear.
Starting point is 00:16:13 There's the one in Kendall. The OG. But they do great hot subs, good cheesesteaks. But I went to Philadelphia for WrestleMania. I had a great time. By the way, I know I've been crapping on the city of Philadelphia in front of this microphone. Not a bad town, right?
Starting point is 00:16:27 Just because I'd only been to the airport. They recently redid what they could with the airport. The ceilings are still mad low and everybody does look like Benjamin Franklin there. All the airport workers, they all look like Benjamin Franklin there. I don't know if it's like an edict from the tourism department.
Starting point is 00:16:43 The tourism board? Yeah, you land, you will five times out of 10 see somebody immediately, that first person you see looks like Benjamin Franklin. And it doesn't matter, guy or girl, they look like Ben Franklin. So the airport's still a little weird, low ceilings and whatnot, but the city of Philadelphia,
Starting point is 00:17:01 real pleasant surprise, and that's while it's 39 degrees out because I was not feeling that, WrestleMania night one. We can't be doing outdoor WrestleMania's in the Northeast, ever again, no thanks. The city of Philadelphia, A plus for me. Did you go to Redding? I did, the market. But some of the options were closed on Sunday.
Starting point is 00:17:22 That's when I decided to go there. So I decided against him. We went some other place. But I didn't do the Patsings, but I did do Gino's. And Gino's was fine. It's a very touristy place. It's not the place you're going to go to if you want to get the elevated cheesesteak.
Starting point is 00:17:36 It's the tourist trap of, hey, we're here. We're in Philly. We're going to do it. For me, for my money, prior to this trip to Philadelphia, the best cheesesteak that I ever had was Flanney's. Flanney's chicken philly. You blackened. It's the best cheesesteak that I ever had was Flanny's. Flanny's chicken filly. You blacken. It's a great cheesesteak, but I went to Angelo's.
Starting point is 00:17:53 And my god pal, I can't even describe, I had no idea a Philly cheesesteak could taste like this. It was incredible. I hadn't even had a drink at the like this was not a hangover cure where everything is awesome. This was sober over. What'd you put on the sandwich? As it came. With whiz? Yeah with whiz. You gotta do it with whiz. Onions, peppers? Yeah came with it. Incredible. I also had the pizza there too and the pizza had rave reviews from I know Barshell and Dave like ranked it pretty high but for me, cheesesteak. All the way. You hear Pat's, you hear Gino's, other people have their
Starting point is 00:18:35 favorites. I didn't hit up every single one but I had, when in Philly, I had about six cheesesteaks over the course of my three days there. Nothing in my life in terms of that specific food even touches, gets near to touching what I had at Angelo's. So that little piece of advice is free. I've gone to Philly a couple times. I'm a Woodrow's man myself. Okay. I didn't have Woodrow's. They do like truffle, kind of like a truffle cheese on the cheesesteak. Game changer. Fresh cut fries, you can add the truffle to the fries too.
Starting point is 00:19:06 That's cheating though. Adding truffle to a cheesesteak right now. But that's what I'm saying, we're elevating. We're elevating. We're not just keeping it regular. We're trying to elevate what it is that we're doing. You can't break the laws of a cheesesteak. If you're telling me WhitWiz and it's truffle,
Starting point is 00:19:19 I can make an exception. But is cheesesteak the one thing where you have such a big range, right? It's almost like pizza where even if you have pizza like and it's not that great. It's still good Yeah, no, I had that have like a cheesesteak. It's pretty good. Look, I'm very much of the opinion There's no such thing as a bad cheesesteak and then I had the ones at Lincoln Financial Field But that was after going to like all these places. So naturally there'd be a drop-off there I had the Lincoln Financial cheesesteak not sobered over and it was fine. I just needed something in the tummy. Hey, yo, but
Starting point is 00:19:52 Angelo's 100% also WrestleMania Kudos to everybody that put on that event. It was spectacular I it's the most streamed event in the history of peacock as you know There was a peacock exclusive playoff game between the Dolphins and world champion Kansas City Chiefs. Most streamed event ever in the history of Peacock pro wrestling is having a moment right now. If you're even a casual fan and you tuned in for it.
Starting point is 00:20:15 Is that combining the two days together though? Yeah, as a singular event, yeah. Eh. Combine the Dolphins and the Chiefs playing each other twice and then talk. Yeah. So The Rock is back. The Rock is back.
Starting point is 00:20:28 Can you walk me through that? Because I watch- The final boss. Okay, so I watch wrestling through you. Yeah. So like I see it as like, oh, Mike is posting something, Cody Rhodes, Cuban American dream, right? Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:20:39 By the way, no one has actually mentioned this. And I'm glad I get to be in front of a microphone to do it. Right now in the WWE, I can't believe no one has actually mentioned this, and I'm glad I get to be in front of a microphone to do it. Right now, in the WWE, I can't believe no one's picked up on this. Three of the four world champions are Latinos. Really? Yes, and the one that isn't Shout out to us. goes by Mommy.
Starting point is 00:20:56 Cody. Hell yeah. Cuban. Yeah, Bailey, you have Damian Priest, who's Puerto Rican. So it's a huge moment in time. I know Cody kind of feels weird about it. I talked to him once and he was on the Hispanic Heritage poster one time and a lot of people learned that he was Cuban through that one marketing thing. He's the American nightmare, not the Cuban American nightmare. Like I've
Starting point is 00:21:15 constantly texted him to be, but a great moment, great callbacks. It was generational. Like if you were a fan, at some point everybody here was a fan of wrestling at one point and if you watched a fan, at some point, everybody here was a fan of wrestling at one point. And if you watched that main event, there was someone there, a central figure. Go get me the win. You say you constantly text him? Yeah, you text him.
Starting point is 00:21:33 Yeah, he doesn't constantly text me back. But last year at WrestleMania, Cody and I were in the same room for about like 80 minutes. And we really hit it off. And we talked about the business. And I had met Cody previously when I was in the AEW COVID bubble.
Starting point is 00:21:47 And I've just always been a fan of his approach and clearly a fan of his dad. And we hit it off. And as a fellow Cuban, he's not as Cuban as I am. And I'm like, lean in, brother. Lean in. So I just send him constant Latino Cody Rhodes memes. I think I'm kind of bothering him at this point,
Starting point is 00:22:05 but I'm really happy for his success. I'm really excited to see him run with the ball. It's weird. It's a predetermined thing. It's a choreographed combat, right? It's a live traveling stunt show with storylines, but it really means something to be champion there because it means you're the guy,
Starting point is 00:22:21 you're running with the ball. This company that has reached new heights and probably doing business that they didn't do during the attitude era has decided you're gonna be the face of the company. That's a really big crowning moment, especially if you're familiar with Cody's run where he had to leave the company
Starting point is 00:22:36 and build up this American nightmare gimmick. Started along with Tony Khan and Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks, started this rival company that really helped raise the tide. And I know a lot of people are having a go at AEW right now. Their ratings are up too. They pulled a rating stunt, as it's called. I imagine there's going to be some story around that.
Starting point is 00:22:55 But if it wasn't for what Cody did with AEW, I don't think it reaches the heights here. And I think a lot of people, you're either a WWE person or an AEW person I like it all I consume it all I went to an ROH show over the weekend I'm a lifelong pro wrestling fan and it's very clearly having a moment right now and that moment doesn't happen if Cody doesn't decide to leave the WWE several years ago and start these other companies and really pursue this dream
Starting point is 00:23:20 so for him to have this crowning achievement and be carried by all the baby faces and have that wonderful heartwarming moment, it's great, but to answer your question. So The Rock. The Rock, I'm sorry. I digress. The Rock, who's now a board member on the TKO board,
Starting point is 00:23:35 publicly traded company, parent company at WWE, he's come back to the sport. He participated in night one in that main event, he's gonna go film that movie that he's been trying to make forever about Mark Kerr, and he's gonna come back. He's essentially what Mr. McMahon was as a character. I think The Rock has kinda replaced that and now has that kinda similar dynamic
Starting point is 00:23:59 that Austin and Mr. McMahon had. I'm curious to see how that works because people naturally want to cheer The Rock and the only time they he ever really gets heat as a heel is when he's going at Cody. Cody's character is such that we've seen it even in AEW. We've never seen a baby face, a pure snow baby face get over in this era. Not since like maybe Bret Hart in the mid 90s has a good guy with no real edge gotten this hot. I don't think you're gonna have like a Roman Reigns run of that. The fans
Starting point is 00:24:30 are naturally gonna turn because there's gonna be some cool either babyface with an edge that the crowd will get behind or a heel but it's it's an amazing moment in time to see a straight up babyface one that could work in the 1980s, be this over right now. For it to work, you're going to need matches with The Rock and for him to do the very edgy stuff so you have that polar opposite there. But I was really happy for Cody, the Cuban-American nightmare, and three of the four champions in WWE are Latino. It's a big, big moment.
Starting point is 00:24:59 And it's even bigger that it's not really being referenced, that everyone's just going about their day with it because it's something special right now. I know I mentioned the Tom Brady thing at the end of the max hour. Let's really chew on this though, because Tom Brady did that with intention, and Tom Brady has let some crumbs out there that he was really close to going
Starting point is 00:25:21 to the San Francisco 49ers. I think he can certainly be serviceable because I'm done doubting Tom Brady, but my man's pushing 50. Are we gonna be doing this, like, the second there's an injury, because there's always injuries, especially at that position, if last year
Starting point is 00:25:35 was any indicator. Now, any time a dude gets hurt, we get to actually stoke the flames on Tom Brady coming back. How great would that be? I want the drama of it all. Speaking nothing to whether or not he can sling the pill. But- He can still sling the pill, come on.
Starting point is 00:25:49 I assume. If a 65 year old Tom Brady is available, think about how long we were doing it with Brett Favre. Brett Favre comparatively to Tom Brady stinks. We're gonna be doing that with Tom Brady. And I don't know how it remained quiet. Maybe like I said, it was a news cycle yesterday But he's putting that out there before the draft and I think this is going to be a legitimate storyline
Starting point is 00:26:13 Well, how long did we keep Philip Rivers in the in the holster? Yeah Who's been cooked for years and it's like oh well somebody goes down and we call Philip Rivers Can we call Matt Ryan? Can we call somebody who is far less talented than Tom Brady? Sure, we'll always have them around. But when you look at Brady, it almost kind of looks like he should have taken the job in San Francisco. Maybe we'd want to know the suitable. He's already like, his legacy is already set.
Starting point is 00:26:37 But can you imagine you have that extra added layer? Another one. Yeah. The qualifiers that he gave his contending team late in the season needs an emergency quarterback. Let the media handle that narrative. We will make it an emergency to see you back.
Starting point is 00:26:53 Also maybe medium brown on the hair dye dude. That's all I'm saying. Just medium brown. What are you doing there? What is he doing there? Don LeBretard! Look, let's be real. I've been sweating a lot in my armpits and I think
Starting point is 00:27:05 it's due to anxiety. So I started doing these wipes and now not sweating underneath there. But the problem is it's drying me out completely. I'm bleeding through my nose a lot. So to counterbalance this, I'm drinking a lot of water, but these wipes have saved my life. However, my nose does not stop bleeding. Stugats. I'm so glad we got to armpits because I've been wondering this today, but I didn't know how to bring it up. Do any of you ever use the opposite genders deodorant? Like do you ever use women's deodorant? Oh dude, you should see my bathroom. I'm doing it today, I smell beautiful.
Starting point is 00:27:31 Billy, you're gonna love this. Every NBA locker room, every NBA locker room, all love women's deodorant. Finally, the insider gives us something! This is the Dan Lear show with this two gods You discovered sketch Billy Billy incorrectly put that I did not discover sketch We haven't spoken about sketch on the show. All right, and I wanted to talk about sketch What's up, brother? You don't know who I'm talking about the gamer the no streamer. No. I don't know that You can teach you I did I did I?
Starting point is 00:28:15 Know some streamers are now just because I'm in group chats where people work me to that sketch sketches I'm a fan of speed. I like speed Not that speed speed got smoked at a Dude, like yeah, Randy went hardcore Holly on him. Like that was pretty stiff. It's like a neck brace wasn't it? Yeah, yeah, so what is what is this sketch thing? Learn about it on there. I think we are on there Billy. Can we get a Video team can we get a video of sketch? So I sent a picture so sketch is a Madden streamer and Anna he plays Madden
Starting point is 00:28:46 That's his number one game, but he's kind of taking the internet by storm. He was out with CJ Stroud with John Metchie with Tank Dell And with I think Stefan Diggs was there too. Just kind of like running routes with him like he's gotten to a point where everybody in The NFL feels like knows about sketch, and he has like this thing like what's up, brother? like that's kind of like his intro thing and I just I was surprised that nobody here had spoken about it as it gets hotter and hotter online But there he is on on stream right now
Starting point is 00:29:20 You know just a regular there. We go just a regular Man streamer, I don't know I don't know what to tell you Mike too soon for me with Stefan Diggs. I'm still not over Oh, that's right. I forgot about that. Most you need two weeks. I need about a month the whole streaming phenomenon is because these people it's weird because I guess it's kind of like podcasting in a way because I'm I'm known by a very special subset of people and they're all guys I'm known by a very special subset of people, and they're all guys. But streamers, people really pop to see someone like Speed. He got a pretty nice pop, but they're also,
Starting point is 00:29:54 in some people's minds, this is the most famous person in the world. And they could fly on a plane and go totally unrecognized because no one remotely asked for that. Sketch would pass by you a thousand times and you wouldn't even look at him. And then you look at him online, he's got millions of followers here and there
Starting point is 00:30:10 and kind of taking the internet by storm for the last couple weeks. Some of these streamers are getting nutsacks that Drake is gifting them. So. Aiden Ross. Yeah. I saw Joe Budden talk about the beef.
Starting point is 00:30:21 Did Drake drop the thing? Not yet. It was supposed to maybe come last night. Future dropped another album. Yeah. JuJu, have you been asked about this, as Dan posed you as explain the hip hop beef steat for the audience?
Starting point is 00:30:34 Yeah, that happened on Wednesday. That happened. All right. So we don't need to update the audience. There has been updates to that, though. Yeah. Did you mention that J. Cole bowed out in your most recent update?
Starting point is 00:30:46 I think that's cool. That's all. There's another update on top of the updates. OK. So Future and Metro, they dropped another album today called We Still Don't Trust You. Obviously, the first one was We Don't Trust You. We Still Don't Trust You.
Starting point is 00:30:59 In that catalog, there is kind of like a two disc set, what used to be called a two disc set, where J. Cole is now featured on that album, on a song called Red Leather, where he starts talking about certain things. And it's more of like a- But he recorded that before he bowed out. That's the stuff that's in question.
Starting point is 00:31:20 We don't know when it was recorded. We don't know who said what. The timeline. I saw Joe Budden speak on it and he kind of scared me for what was coming because Joe Budden was kind of like shook that they're both going at it really hard. And I'm always kind of skeptical of these things because I do think it elevates the industry, especially when you're talking about these names. You know, these aren't mumble rappers. These are top of the food chains. These aren't sound cloud guys that you wonder how the hell they're at the top of a bill because they never catch up in your algo like these are guys that have been doing
Starting point is 00:31:50 This for over a decade at the top of their game, and they're they're going at one another This isn't even push of t levels even though push it kill Drake These are the top of the line guys right now including future to what there's also like an ASAP top of the line guys right now, including Future 2. There's also an ASAP element to this too, right? Because ASAP, I think, is the feature on this album too? That was on this new one where he throws shade at Drake also. But it's interesting to see J. Cole on a track that they had
Starting point is 00:32:20 already put. Yeah, after he bowed out. But I mean, timeline can kind of work out. But the track's out out there, so I don't know if he's gonna be given a pass Or I heard I heard the button thing you're talking about. He said that it's nuclear Yeah, is the word that he used right where Drake and Kendrick have already gone to the studio have already laid down tracks of What these diss tracks are gonna be so now it's just waiting because they said it was gonna be Friday It's Friday. We don't have anything yet We have yet another rebuttal from future because on the back half of that double feature album
Starting point is 00:32:50 So the first half is kind of slow songs kind of like you're with your girl kind of songs But then the the last like eight tracks I was listening to on the train this morning He goes in again and it's like another answer from future while we're still waiting on Drake to answer. So Skeptical Billy would probably look at this and say, I don't know if this is legit, because this certainly helps the industry. And having these names out there and the interest and people constantly refreshing and going these tracks. The volume that rappers are dropping tracks,
Starting point is 00:33:17 like I had missed an entire J Cole album. That doesn't typically happen. I had missed, it dropped like a month ago. I had no idea. And so I'm catching up on this stuff. Well, Juju and Tony said earlier this week that essentially these beefs are all fake anyways and they just do it to sell albums.
Starting point is 00:33:33 All these guys like each other, I thought. I think it's an element to that that could be done. I think this is why you don't talk crap about your girlfriend when you break up with her and then tell all your friends and then you get back with her now and we all looking at her like, you look like a clown, right? Like, he right recording these tracks when he was mad
Starting point is 00:33:49 and now you happy and you want peace. Like, I feel like all this is corny as hell. Like, I think it's very wack. Like, I don't, the mental health part of me, like I say, I'm so proud of that brother Jermaine. Like, oh my God, I'm so proud of you brother, but I think it's so wack on the other half of me. So, I'm sitting this out because I don't want to disparage
Starting point is 00:34:07 the names of these great rappers. But don't you think J. Cole is of a reputation that he can survive that? And people would understand that. It don't matter, though. What you trying to survive? You trying to be a legend, or you trying to survive? You know what I mean? You're already past the survival point.
Starting point is 00:34:22 Bro, we hear what you say on all these tracks over and over and over again, and then you come out and apologize for a track you dropped and you mixed and mastered. Even if someone gets you, Meek survived it. And if Meek can survive it, although he became a cause after, Meek might have not survived it if he didn't become a cause. And we'll see if Meek survives this right now. Because he was in Philly getting booed. He was in Philly getting, can you imagine being in Philly
Starting point is 00:34:46 and getting booed? I mean. Yeah, I mean, granted, that's not a universally Philly crowd that's over at WrestleMania. But I was a little surprised by that. Anti-ditty crowd at WrestleMania? There were some ditty signs over there. There were a lot of pro-ditty crowds.
Starting point is 00:34:59 I don't know. I don't know, but it feels like an anti-ditty crowd. I think to combine what we were talking about last segment segment too, and we had said this last week is there's an element of pro wrestling Mm-hmm in the in the music game right we're behind closed doors me and juju are friends But then when it comes out that we're beating and we're gonna drop diss tracks against each other, but in closed doors We're laughing and we're and we're breaking bread together. It's just like look we're trying to elevate the game Maybe there feels to be a sense of that, especially with J. Cole kind of switching sides where,
Starting point is 00:35:29 oh yeah, I'm going to do a track for future now, but hold up, wait, I'm going to diss Kendrick, but actually no. That's why it's corny, bro. We're like, no, no, Kendrick's the man. Let me not speak on his name. But that's where you'd start poking holes in whether or not this is all orchestrated.
Starting point is 00:35:43 Because if it's orchestrated, the timelines would work out certainly in favor of J. Cole instead of looking like a hypocrite right now and is caught in no man's land. And again, J. Cole, no matter how hard somebody goes at him, he has a certain skill level and reputation that he'll survive anything and fans just want him in on it. That's where I think people are more disappointed in him than think he's wack for bowing out. But I know how this ends with Drake. It ends the same way that it always ends with Drake beefs. He'll go in, he'll surprise you,
Starting point is 00:36:11 he'll actually have something that really, really cooks. It'll feel really hot, the comeback track, because there's ample opportunity to make fun of Drake. We've all heard it. There's so much meat on that bone. But it's gonna end with Drake being maybe attempting to collaborate on a full collab album putting his arm around the other person and it's all love like that's usually how it goes with Drake Kendrick's a
Starting point is 00:36:34 wild card here because Kendrick's just so much more private than all the other guys he's a bit of a lone wolf right like even even when he's doing stuff with TD it almost feels like TD's on one side, and then kind of Kendrick is over on his own corner. Well, he's finally separated from TD, right? And that, if you're familiar with the story there, I don't even want to talk about it that much, because just know that it's a hard situation to get out of over there.
Starting point is 00:36:59 So he found his way out, and he is very much a lone wolf. And J. Cole did get him with the fact that, you know, he dropped something once every four years. You can do the math. As a huge Kendrick fan, again, siding with Peter Rosenberg, who calls him the greatest MC of all time. By the way, I do think that Kendrick needs another hit album. And I like everything that Kendrick puts out.
Starting point is 00:37:21 The last one. Big Steppers was, eh. No, it was. Elephant in a Room, bro. The last one... Big Steppers was... No, it was... Elephant in the Room, bruh. The world is reacting to all this, but none of these disses are hard as hell. I remember back when, at the end of the day, when Ether came out, the song was actually hard. The actual track, hit them up, the track is actually groovy. We listening to the beats that... Like, salute to America, bruh. I'm here for America, filing for this, so I'ma just let it happen, bro.
Starting point is 00:37:47 You know who didn't survive? The Golden Bachelor filed for divorce this morning. No! For three months of marriage, role Jerry. Casiano's home run? Damn. No, no Casiano. Maybe.
Starting point is 00:37:57 Maybe. Maybe. I do look forward to the drop, and I'm kinda catching up on it. The way that I'm following it is how I essentially follow Sexy Red is just primarily on IG Reels. And so I always feel like I'm trailing. The second that I try to get in on it, J. Cole is out of it,
Starting point is 00:38:17 but now he's back in on it. But we have- On the opposite side. Yeah. But we're all waiting for the Kendrick Trav. Me personally, that's what I'm waiting for. Can you have something that goes hard, that it will live forever, that can be in the echelon
Starting point is 00:38:31 of ether over there? Because when it comes to skill level, for me, he's my favorite. He's my favorite MC. They're all great. Whoever you list your favorite, I'm not judging. You can tell me Pitbull. And I'm like, well, I like that song,
Starting point is 00:38:44 and he has what Nile Roudjers. How did that concert go yesterday? Which concert? That Jimmy Buffett tribute concert. Oh yeah! Did he perform? Did he perform? He was doing a cover.
Starting point is 00:38:53 Did Jimmy perform? No, no. Pitbull was supposed to do a cover of Jimmy Buffett's songs at the thing. Did he or did any? I don't know. No did he. No did he. Okay.
Starting point is 00:39:03 He seems to be living carefree, did he, huh? Yeah. I never want to. It it's it's hot he's just out there He was it was kind of like my reaction to see what we're getting to your last thing. I want to do it You're here. Yeah, you're why am I here? That's just out Okay, I mean I guess enjoy the timeout right I got the bonus wings. I guess It's like that. I look I guess enjoy the timeout right? You got the boneless wings? I guess Look, I don't know anything I'm just gonna say
Starting point is 00:39:30 I haven't talked to anybody Maybe the strategy is if I'm just always out and being seen somewhere then it's like, oh yeah he's fine he's not gonna go anywhere and then all of a sudden Love Air or whatever it's called makes a reappearance from wherever it is that it disappeared to then all of a sudden, Love Air, or whatever it's called, makes a reappearance from wherever it is that it disappeared to.
Starting point is 00:39:46 Then all of a sudden, Diddy's on Love Air, and then he's no longer out and about. You know what I mean? There's a certain level of celebrity and wealth that honestly, nothing's ever gonna touch you. You might get elected president, is what I'm saying. Like, there are very few actual real repercussions for people in power.
Starting point is 00:40:05 It takes like a Harvey Weinstein type of scandal. And Diddy is- It feels like we're close. Yeah, I mean, feels like we're close. It certainly feels like we're there. It certainly feels like we're there with Diddy. So anytime like he's out and people see him out, I'm like, this is a time to be low key.
Starting point is 00:40:20 Especially when the houses get raided. When the houses get raided- By the feds, yeah. Come on now, let's get serious. Lay low, man. If you're maintaining your innocence, I guess the optics of being out, those are bad optics to us,
Starting point is 00:40:31 but if I'm putting myself out there as an innocent man, what do I have to hide from, I guess would be the logic there. But yeah, I'm kinda, that was a tangent, but I'm kind of really excited for this Kendrick thing just because I as a Kendrick fan I just want to see more stuff from him and I trust Drake more than I do Kendrick to drop an entire song that's his that bangs better I trust Drake more I don't know also
Starting point is 00:41:01 speaking of fans I don't mean to throw this in the middle like this, but we have to just show some love. One of our most beloved fans passed away over the weekend, Will Chuck Jr. on Instagram. His name was Kirkandaw. Much love to the Kirkandaw family. Yeah, he passed away. Much love to the Lawa Rangers and everybody who loves him. We have y'all on our minds and in our hearts, bro.
Starting point is 00:41:23 Yeah, I'm glad that you mentioned that Juju, because look, certainly I have a sorted history with our fans, particularly the Reddit ones. But we're at a stage in our career where it's a little different than it was before. Before we were on your AM radio, we were kind of unavoidable. We see how Pat McAfee has benefited
Starting point is 00:41:42 from just being on television, being associated with the ESPN brand. What I love so much about being on ESPN News was nothing else is on, everything else is on commercial. All right, let me give these guys a shot. Now, primarily we're living in a space where you can avoid us and you don't have to give us a shot. And we really, I think we're at a stage in our careers where we really have to cater to these passionate fans. And when one goes, we all got to feel it. So I'm glad that you mentioned that, Juju.
Starting point is 00:42:08 I feel bad for forgetting to honor him. Yeah, we do love our fans. We understand, know that we're at a stage in our careers where we're trying to cater to you even more because without you, we are nothing right now. We couldn't have made this jump. And Dan has said it plenty of times, but I see that and I know what a billboard he was for our show. We got a really great culture around our show
Starting point is 00:42:33 in terms of fandom. And I think a lot of the really, really diehard fans felt that one a little bit too, too. Yeah, he tweeted back in the day, holy shit, Dan read my email to him telling him about my birthday trip to Miami on the first pirate episode of the LeBretard show today. Are you kidding me? Heart emojis, heart emojis. So it really meant so much to him and brother we love you and your family we wish you nothing but wealth.
Starting point is 00:42:56 Yeah. Rest in peace.
