You're listening to Giraffe King's Network.
Welcome to the big suite presented by Giraffe King.
Why are you listening to this show?
The podcast that seems very similar to the other Dan Levitard podcast.
I'm sorry, I'm not going to apologize for that.
In fact, the only difference seems to be this imaging.
I have been tempted in restaurants,
just walking past tables to grab somebody's fries
that if they're just there.
That hasn't happened to you guys.
I've done it.
And now, here's the marching man to nowhere,
that face and the habitual liar.
Kurt Cuzid's is a better quarterback than Jim Kelly.
And Troy Acman.
No doubt.
Oh, yeah.
Can we not do the dinner?
Yeah, no doubt.
Are you going to do is he better than Drew Brees now?
Can you look at Drew Brees' numbers?
I'll look at the, I mean, remember, he saw.
Something tells me, you already looked it up.
Something tells me he was an excellent quarterback.
Well, I mean, overrated.
We can agree on that, correct?
Can we not?
Yeah.
Greg, his half has been George's true priest.
How long do I have to revise this Kurt Cousin?
Not your word.
I didn't have the chance to be right.
Stay in French, Billy, you're fine.
Yeah, I didn't want it.
Billy, he's got plenty of years left.
Like, if he wins a Super Bowl or two,
with those stats, he might get into the Hall of Fame first
battle. Kurt could have another 20 years in the NFL and not put together the career the Drew
Breeze had. Drew Breeze paid played 287 games. Kurt Cousins is 90. I mean, he doesn't have.
I know three times that left in him. No, I think he does. You have quarterbacks playing into
the late 30s, early 40s now, like you're fine.
How old is Kirk Cousins?
35.
So maybe you got five more years?
Five.
Five more years, he's gonna double the average.
Guys, he has for his career, it's impossible.
I mean, in today's NFL, you can throw for 6,000 yards
a season, 30,000 more yards right there.
Uh-huh.
He is about to pass Johnny and I does for career yardage.
Thank you.
How about that?
Dad, what did you text me this morning?
I woke up to a text from you about something
with Adville and where it goes in your body.
Oh.
Physician.
I was curious because I'm not a person
who takes a lot of Adville.
And when I do, I generally take one Adville.
Not enough.
No.
And I was complaining today because I had a stuffed ear that was giving me a
headache and it hurt to cough and your mother says take three or four Advil. So I took three. And I
wondered how does Advil or any aspirin know where the pain is and where to go in your body? Huh?
Hmm. I never thought it was a big one. It's the pain though, I mean.
But how does that know where the pain is?
It's a good question.
I don't know.
Have you ever heard of that?
Or does it send something throughout your entire body
and just attacks over the pain is in the body?
That's probably what it was.
I don't think it's that.
I had never thought of it before.
And nobody seems to really know the answer.
Did you put the advele in your ear?
That would be funny.
Apply it right to where the pain is.
Yeah, exactly where the pain is.
Yeah, no, I mistakenly swallowed it with water.
What do you feel better?
About 20 minutes later, I did feel better.
I love how you're discovering it.
You're like Advil.
I put it in my mind.
I put it in my medication.
And then I'd be proven.
Half hour later, I felt better.
I did.
It was a revelation.
What's the right amount of Advil to take?
If you're really in pain, I feel like it's four.
What?
Four.
That's a lot.
That's a lot of pain.
I think the normal dose is two,
and some people bump it up to three.
No, some addvils now will say take one.
But you have to also look at the milligrams,
like how big, or how, how, what the dosage is.
Yeah.
And that'll tell you how many I take. I was told in my head by the voices in my head that what Advil does is it blocks off
the pain receptors.
So it doesn't, it kind of masks the feeling of pain.
You still have it, but what it is, it's kind of, I guess, shutting off your ability to feel it.
I don't know if that's true or not.
Where are my pain receptors in your brain?
In my brain?
Like, yeah, what part of the brain?
Right, hold on, Billy.
Which lobe are they in?
He's gonna show you how they're in there.
Yeah.
I think it's here.
Wow.
Nice, okay.
Right there.
What is Billy doing right now?
No, I can't.
That's good, Billy.
That's great.
He just pointed a Greg's forehead,
the top in the movie.
He's the Greg's forehead.
I just said, this is where they are.
I think that's where they are. Zero medical healing. Greg's forehead. I just said, this is where they are. I think that's where it is.
Zero medical healing.
Then why don't I feel the pain right here?
Because you took Advil.
Right. No, but the pain, no, because you got it.
It was behind my ear before. It was not in here.
Right, but that's where the receptor is.
Exactly. You know what I mean?
I'm seeing on the internet that pain goes
to that part of your brain.
Yeah.
Pain killers don't know where the pain is,
but they only work on areas associated with inflammation,
AKA where pain usually is.
See, got it?
So they attack inflammation.
It's seeking out.
It's like a,
that's an anti-inflammatory does that.
Correct.
Yeah.
Billy, hear me out here, okay?
Seven games in Kirk cousins has two thousand,
fifty seven yards, seven games in.
Yeah.
Now make it 14 games if he stays healthy, okay?
14. He's at like 4,200 yards with, why is he it 14 games if he stays healthy, okay? 14 he's at like 4200 yards with playing 14 of these days
I'm just saying that's halfway. I'm doing the math
It's an easy way for me to do the math, okay? They tack on three more games
So 5,000 plus yards. Well hear me out. I never had 5,000 yards in his career
I know, but he's pacing right now. Okay, that's all I'm saying. I'm trying to help you out here
But I want to abandon this tape also hear me out
That's all I'm saying. I'm trying to help you out here, but I want to abandon this tape also hear me out Drew breeze has to don't if you haven't looked it up already has to know for 80,000 yards 571 touchdowns. Yeah, yeah over in
Profit ball reference has a
A meter for potential Hall of Fame. Yeah, it was avoiding getting
Information. Yeah, the Hall of Fame monitor. Yeah 4365. The average Hall of Fame quarterback is 103.5.
Yeah, I was avoiding giving.
So he's half of a Hall of Famer.
He's half of a Hall of Fame.
What's good? There's only half the,
yeah, exactly right.
He's working on it, guys.
What do we, what?
It's like, you don't want,
let's test this thing.
Good things for Kirk cousins.
I don't know.
I love good, no one does.
Let's not try.
Let's, let's test this thing.
Like, who's a quarterback that has been Hall of Fame worthy
but for like one or two years to see if they are projecting,
you know what I mean?
Like if you're great,
Russell Wilson, Russell Wilson, yeah, where's he at?
Right, for Russell Wilson, let's see what he's at.
I mean, right now he's playing his way out of the hall.
Yeah, I wonder if we, let's mark down what it is this year
and then see if next year it's love.
Why are they having a good year by the way?
Yeah, Russell Wilson.
Yeah, very partly.
I know.
Last year's terrible. His Hall of Fame monitor is low. Why are they having a good year by the way? Yeah, that's awesome. Very highly. I know. Last year's terrible.
His Hall of Fame monitor is 84.17.
Say some he's in.
Wow.
It would appear.
I think it was higher earlier on.
You said you have to be over 100.
Oh, yeah.
Well, the average is 103.
That's what I mean.
The average is, yeah.
I mean, that there's way higher and way higher
than the average.
I mean, Kelly was like 65.
Right.
So, different error though.
More super balls. I mean, where's the, where's it? Have Matthew Stafford? Great question. I love this game
Yeah, staff great. You're good. Great one. Yeah, yeah, they both have super wolves of Stafford and Wilson
I'm more interested in a quarterback almost like to a I don't laugh
I'm just saying because he's having such a statistical great year, right early on in his career like do they project it out?
I don't know. I'd be interested Matthew Stafford is that 72.84
Lower than Russell Moore's all right check to a real quick. Why are we just to see he had a lot of good
Yes, it's good. It's a good game. He used for bad teams in Detroit who chaired golf snout
They should put him in a hole for you just for playing the Troy
Cost 33.75. Yeah, but he's on the way back here is to two is got to be below Kirk cousins at this point
Right, they don't have it for me. Oh wow
No, he's two he's two really I just didn't know if they have to play a few years
But they don't try to project that early how many years though like do we know?
Oh, I love this game. We don't know anything. We're all just reading the internet together at the same time
Geno Smith is inching his way towards the hall of fainting.
Oh, he's absolutely not.
Can I put five more years like this together?
I mean, can I ask you guys a question?
Are you okay?
Can I ask you guys a question?
Are you guys?
No, he's not okay.
Fine through.
Geno, more Jackson, check it out, Roy.
Geno Smith is 9.6.
In five years, he'll be Kirk cousins, but he was like 3.6 a year ago before last season. That's all I'm saying
Are you guys excited about the dolphins being on hard knocks in season because I am not Le Mans Jackson by the way 44.83 what?
Because it's early I get it I get it Greg are you excited for that? I it's a great choice
I get it. Greg, are you excited for that?
It's a great choice.
The dolphins are such an interesting team.
Mike McDaniel is probably the most fun head coach in the league.
Tua, Tyree Kill, the team speed they have, they just traded for Chase Claypool, which
has a little controversial element to it.
They just have interesting stories all over that roster.
So it's a great choice.
I'm not a huge fan of hard knocks,
but that's a brilliant choice.
I'm a little surprised they agreed to do it.
I don't think they have a choice.
I think they do have a choice.
No.
There's some rule where if you don't have a choice,
if you've done it in the last X number of years.
And so maybe the dolphins didn't have a choice, because if they did, I'd be surprised if you've done it in the last X number of years. So maybe the dolphins didn't have a choice because if they did,
I'd be surprised if they did.
I get why McDaniel wouldn't want it.
You know, they're having a great year.
It just throws another wrinkle in there.
Yeah, it's a distraction.
So like from their perspective, I get not wanting it.
But and I kind of like Billy, I think I'm just going to assume
you're doing the, let's not screw this up.
It thinks they're going well that this could only,
it can't make it. Well, things, they're coming off of a, it thinks are going well, that this could only, it can't make-
They're coming off of a loss that people are saying
they're frauds and they're saying they haven't beat anyone.
Now you want to add this.
The first episode might be what a couple weeks from now.
Yeah, it just, it seems like an unnecessary thing.
It's not something I would want.
It's gonna look well.
That's a fan, why aren't we excited?
No, no, no, you should be.
The crazy thing is, as a dolphins fan, you would think,
like, I wanna see my team, right?
But I don't wanna see the dolphins.
If I was like a fan of another team,
I would like, want to see the dolphins,
because it seems like this is probably
never entertaining group.
I've never wanted to be my team.
For mid season hard knocks.
I'm a big hard knocks guy, never done mid season.
Nobody has.
I'm gonna do it now, and maybe that's what they're,
because they've done pretty boring ones
the previous last couple of years.
Colts, who weren't good, cardinals were bad last year. So this is the first time they're, because they've done pretty boring ones the previous last couple of years. Colts who weren't good,
Cardinals were bad last year.
So this is the first time they're doing with a good team.
And I'm excited for it.
I don't want it, like if shit hits the fan
and we end up not doing well,
then we're all gonna look back and be like,
maybe that was it.
So I don't like that there's something else
being thrown in that could affect us,
but I'm, I'm, go with this.
This is also a team that loves attention.
Guys like Tyree Kill and Christian Wilkins,
they love attention and Mike McDaniel
is so wonderful with the media.
He will be good behind a camera in his office
talking to another player.
He'll be honest, he'll be funny.
It's an interesting team.
Yeah, it is.
It is, absolutely.
According to the Hall of Fame monitor on pro football reference,
Patrick Mahomes is not a Hall of Fame.
What's his number? 86.28.
And the average is 103.58. I think you'll be alright.
I don't know. First ballot. Stats, man. I don't know.
Zero ballot. That's what you'll be. Zero ballot.
The day you retire is goes straight to get the second
He retires Joe name is in the Hall of Fame anything is possible. You're right most overrated quarterback in the history of the NFL
Broadway Joe Broadway Joe

I'm just so damn passionate about KFC.
I know you are.
You love it.
I eat it like four times a week.
It's great.
Yeah, it's like, all right, great.
Come here, you little bucket.
He's rummaging.
Oh, that's a good one. That's not a good one. Oh, great. It's amazing. He's rummaging. Oh, that's a good one.
Oh, that's not a good one.
Oh, boy.
We'll put it back.
Oh, hey, on a buy.
Care about it now.
Plus three.
They're hosting the Texans.
Put it back.
They're, I went six, Greg.
They're new.
Seachy Strauss look good.
Yeah.
I mean, but that is maybe winnable.
That might be their one.
That is a winnable game.
Might be their one.
It might not though. What is a winnable game might be their one
Am I not though? What is that? Oh God? What?
Titans Titans, they're home. They're hosting the Falcons two and a half could be worse. That's enough great They're getting getting they're getting to an a half. Okay, they have to win. I got no choice. Yeah, come on Tana Hill
Chris, let's go to the stat of the day. What?
Let's do that.
Yes.
Stat of the day.
Stat of the day.
Stat of the day.
Stat of the day.
I put a lot out of that.
I put a lot out of that.
I see a stat of the day.

Start of the day.
Start of the day.
It is the start of the day.
Today's sound of the day is brought to you by Venmo.
Your money, your move.
All right, a Dolas Garcia of the Rangers is the first player in
mid-July baseball history to have a Homer in three RBI, three
plus RBI's in three consecutive postseason games.
Wow. Yeah.
It's a sneaky good little finish here to this baseball season.
We see the Astros lose.
Hopefully tonight we can see the Phillies lose.
It won't be a great world series, but we can see all the teams we hate lose. Yeah, but I love the idea of a diamond back Ranger world series that no one wants to watch
I know I love it because you have a true
Cinderella by my definition and in Texas because they've won nothing they've never won since 1972
I like that. Daniel Lovsky next
Don't live a tart. It's been a lovely cruise.
Oh man, that's my outro.
That's, you know, as my casket is being lowered,
Jesus, you know, I've been cremated a week before
but we'll do the casket thing just for show.
And as my casket is being lowered,
well, we'll see.
FD casket, yeah, it'll be easy, you know. Just for show, we're gonna do it. Well, we have to casket. Yeah, it'll be
easy, you know, just for show. Well, what's the redundancy
there? You know, I mean, we're gonna put on a public
display. Yeah, naturally. Stugats. What do you do with the
ashes? You're going on a lowly cruise. Exactly. Maybe
we'll throw them over my wife will throw them overboard. I
would have seen them. I was sneaking with her new husband.
This is the Don Lebertar Show with this two cats.
I forget the food topic that we bonded over.
A few months back, you probably don't remember.
It was much more meaningful for me.
Oh, no, I, I mean.
Yeah, obviously I got a reputation.
Yeah, I was one of your bland takes and I supported it.
And what was the take? I don't remember. It was like, he's had bland takes and I supported it. And, uh, well, what was the tape?
I don't remember.
It was like he's had so many.
He brought it off.
You don't remember?
I mean, he's had so many great cookies.
Was it cookies?
oatmeal raisin.
Oh, I do love oatmeal raisins.
I'm with him as well.
That's a good cookie.
Well, what's your take on oatmeal raisin cookies?
Like, you have a take there?
I just think they're significantly better than chocolate chip.
I think chocolate chip cookies are like, I agree. Do you really? Yes, absolutely.
What are you pointing at? I'm agreeing with them. That's an overrated cookie chocolate chip.
Yeah. Like, like, everything has to be perfect. It's almost like a system quarterback. You got to
have, so it's got to be the right temperature. The chocolate's gotta be somewhat melted.
Oh, no, racing, you can pick it up.
It's warmer if it's room temperature, it's go time.
Right.
Plus it's health food, because you got raisins.
Right.
They don't realize.
That's the way you justify it.
Yeah.
Really?
They're two of you, really?
Yeah.
He's 20 at the time, you're good.
Wait, Chris, are you looking up your tape?
I'm gonna find it.
It was your tape?
I just don't, it was a while ago.
I mean, we have a lot of takes, man. I'm gonna find it, though. your tape? I just don't mind. It was a while ago. I mean, we have a lot of takes, man.
I'm gonna find it though.
Do football until I do.
Dan, how many people walk into your office
and think that you have a giant mural
of Peyton Manning behind you?
And not really, I bet that's you.
Is that mankind?
It is mankind.
Yeah.
Mixed fully.
That's unbelievable.
Yeah, I think everybody actually walks into this office and thinks I am and painting man in the same person. Billy, I'm going to do it to you. What? Billy, thanks. Kirk
Cousins is a first-bound Hall of Famer. Do you agree? Yeah, totally. Why not? No. Obviously I think Kurt's good player has moments are really good. I actually
became a little bit of a bigger fan of Kurt post that whole quarterback thing on Netflix.
The thing about Kurt, it's like the opposite of Deck Press got in a way. I feel everybody
wants Deck Press got to be the player that he is as a person.
And so he's such a good guy.
And such an incredible reputation.
They're like, well, he's such a great player.
No, he's just been good for his career.
And Kirk is so uniquely, and I say there's an admiration
dorky and Ned Flanders-ish that everyone's like,
well, he can never be a good player because he's so dorky. So first battle hall of favor, uh, Ned Flanders-ish, that everyone's like, well, he can never be a good player because he's so dorky, you know, so, um, first battle hall of favor person, but not football player,
no.
Well done.
I have to ask you, I was so blown away by your Stephen A Smith impression.
I just was, I'm just going to beg you to just answer this one question as Stephen A Smith
if you would.
Biggest disappointment team so far this NFL season and the most pleasant surprise team.
And the biggest disappointment team is the, I got to go to Detroit Lions, the Detroit
Lions, you know, the expectation, your golf and your golf and you see, no, so I just say that because last
week's Stephen A had him as the the number one team in the NFL.
I know.
So yeah.
And you would say like the biggest surprise, the Minnesota Vikings because they won last
night.
Um,
The president of the moment is what you're saying or Lopsky.
Yeah.
Yeah. I mean, we're all victim to it.
I always make fun of everybody.
Says he goes, he's top five teams in the NFL.
I'm like, you just picked the five good teams that won last weekend.
You know, that's that's kind of the model.
Steven, if I was Steven, his most disappointing team this year, he would probably, you know,
knowing how Steven is and he's unbelievable at his job, he would pick like a team that's good, but not good enough right now. So like maybe
he would probably go like the New York Jets, you know, out just disregarding the Aaron Rodgers
injury. And then it said, his biggest surprise would be like, not a Kansas City chiefs, you
know, we would all be like, what?
You're not going to answer it though.
I think Greg wanted you to answer like your answer in Stephen A's voice.
All right, my answer.
You're not a piano bar.
I mean, you're just that.
My most surprising team in the NFL this year in a good way, like saying a good way, not
in a disappointing way, I'm like saying a good way, not in a disappointing way yet.
My most surprising in a good way, Baltimore,
I go by divisions, because I got a small brain,
so let's say by divisions,
you know what, I'll say the Los Angeles Rams,
even though they lost that weekend,
I still think the Rams are like going to be in the conversation.
And they know one, I honestly thought that they would be
in the conversation for Caleb Williams.
And you know, like, hey, Matthew,
I know there were trade conversations
whether it came from the Rams or other teams.
Like they are still a really competitive football team.
And even like they lose last weekend,
but it's more so, you know, Pittsburgh made some place
at the end of the game.
I think the Rams are gonna be in the conversation.
I really do.
Getting into December.
I don't know if I'm saying no question. Playoff team,
but I do believe that they are going to be into that playoff football team conversation.
Most disappointing right now, I still say the Giants, and I love Bryan Vable. I'm a massive
fan of Bryan Vable. I thought that Daniel would play better than he did last year.
I thought the offensive line would be better. The Waller trade would be featured in their offense.
We haven't seen that. Now there's questions. Are they better with Tyra Taylor than Daniel?
The defense is finally playing. I had thought that David had the chance to contend for a playoff
spot like or be the second best team in that division. And even though they won last week and I still sit there and I go, uh, I'm surprised
that they're not better.
I found it.
It was, it was dan saying that you don't have to take a shower right when I get out of
the pool every time.
And I was like, yeah, you can, like I'll shower later this evening.
I don't know who was a shower.
Right.
It was like people were shaming in.
It was just like to toll reasonable take by Dan. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know. It was a shower. Right. It was like people were shaming in. It was just like to toll reasonable take by Dan.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I remember that one.
We just closed the pool yesterday.
So can't do that anymore.
Gonna have to shower pretty
pretty readily now.
What how do you feel about
peeing in the pool?
Hmm.
Let her ride, baby.
I'm not a huge fan of it to be honest
to do.
Obviously, I've done it many a times.
I haven't done it as an adult.
But when you do it, you're like,
I'm not feeling good about myself right now.
It's also why you need to take a shower.
You got it.
I have fair point.
But chlorine salt killed that.
Right.
Better point.
To be honest with you, ever since the movie
grown up, some Kevin James has the moment
when he pieced in the pool and the blue stuff gets out.
Oh, yeah.
I always let a little bit out and just to see,
like, is that
a is that a real thing and then if not I'll let it play a painful game. Yeah. It is. You
don't want to be that person. Have you ever washed your hair in the pool like me? You're
so weird, Dad. Hmm. What's soap? Yeah. Yeah. Not a public pool. Like you're getting
soap in the pool. After a round of golf. This man has jumped in to the pool with a after a round of golf
and then just has shampoo right there.
Yeah, sounds great.
I love you.
Yeah, a little dollop of shampoo.
I feel like you do that in a lake though, not a pool.
Little of that will do you.
Yeah, it all works.
Yeah.
Yeah, I would probably shy away from that one.
You know what, one thing I don't get about people and pools?
How often people, and more often than not, they look like me,
let their dogs just swim in the pool.
It's a great take, you're right, yes.
What kind of dog, they're like, the dogs in the pool, that's disgusting, they're going to
shed all over the place, your kids are going to jump in, or you're going to jump in,
dog here all over you. How's this going to get gross?
Gross, man, I don't get it.
But urine's not, anyway.
Yeah.
Dan, before we get back to football,
I need to ask you about Fessie.
I can't look at you.
Why?
Are you a challenge purist?
Or do you watch the spin-offs?
Did you watch the challenge USA?
Cause I really want to talk to you about Fessie.
I haven't seen the last season or two of the challenge. I know Fessie became, I saw him
trending like a week or two, I think. I want to say a slam ball guy now.
Like legit slam ball? Yeah, he's like plays for some team at slam ball. He had another
classic Fessie Blunder in the final on the challenge USA where he
You win an advantage you get to take a shortcut
He did not win the advantage took the shortcut anyways, and then he ended up getting eliminated in the final yet again
Did he do the shortcut or did he take the shortcut on knowingly or did he do it like thinking he could get away with it?
No, he did it because he's Fessie and he didn't realize that he was going the wrong way
So he ran an extra mile and a half in the wrong direction and then they sent him back.
You got eliminated.
Shocker.
Shocker.
That's a good all-barc no bite.
That's my, I don't know the dude obviously, but like that he's the classic person on that
show of like talk is so much bigger than the actual result.
Wow.
Dan, you said yesterday that the brown should reach out to the Vikings regarding Kirk Cusses.
And I am wondering, have you changed like, Kirk Cusses is not going anywhere now, right?
I don't know if that, how like, if you're Minnesota and you're trying to be, you know,
have like foreshadowing and look at the future, I think Minnesota's biggest question going forward,
and I said this two weeks ago,
it's like, how do they keep Justin Jefferson?
That's going to be their biggest challenge,
and I don't believe that they are going to be able
to do it just because of money.
Everyone's going to pay Justin Jefferson,
if he ever gets to the market.
So it's not your, we'll give him a contract,
anyone is going to do that.
So I think for Justin Jefferson, at least if I was him, I'd go, well, I want to know
who's going to be the quarterback here and who's going to be
the quarterback for the long term. And he might sit there and say,
well, I'm cool with it being Kirk cousins, he might not, I don't
know. But Minnesota, do they organizationally want that? And
so I sit there and I go like that, that's more important than
who's, you know, like where they are right now with Kirk
Cousins or can they become a French playoff team?
They have to figure out what's the plan at quarterback for the future.
Now maybe organizationally they sit there and say the plan is to resign Kirk Cousins.
And if that's going to keep Justin Jefferson great.
So I just say like if you're one of those teams, you have to call.
I don't know the likelihood of it.
And I know that Kirk has the no trade clause of aware of all that.
But if the Vikings have made up the decision that, well, we are not going to pay Kirk the
X amount of dollars that likely he's going to command or we want to go younger because
of where Kirk is and his career or whatnot, then it's reasonable to think if another team calls like the Cleveland
Browns and everyone I'm aware of the Shawn Watson's contract.
I know there's a good $1,000,000 left for his contract.
He's not going anywhere, but he's not playing good and he's not healthy right now.
And so this is a football team that can run the ball, they're really well coached.
I'm a huge Kevin St. Francis guy, their defense is off the charts good.
Make the call and see if there's even a 5% chance
of at least starting the conversation
and seeing if there's a, what would it
potentially cost?
Quick question about high-draft quarterbacks.
Number one, is it time to say,
maybe the dolphins didn't make a mistake
taking two ahead of Justin Herbert and to the present day
CJ stride looking better than Bryce Young. Is it too soon to say Carolina? Maybe made a mistake
Yeah, I think it's too soon
but it is very fair to say that CJ is playing
significantly better than Bryce Young now I don't usually like what I talk about quarterbacks,
I'll be like, man, this guy's got really good help around them.
This guy doesn't.
I don't know if Houston has that much more help
around CJ Stroud than Bryce Young does.
I do think Nico Collins is playing awesome,
and Tank Dallas playing awesome.
Obviously, Dalton Shoes has become a good player,
but they've lost some people on their offensive lines.
He's played with back backup offensive lineman.
Like you could just cut on CJ Strauss tape.
I've said CJ looks like a young Joe burrow with the way that he's seeing it, the way that
the boss coming out of his hands, the different types of throws, the placement of those throws.
But I think it's okay for us to be like, yeah, right now CJ looks like the better player.
I still think Bryce is going to be a very, very good pro.
But they, and I said this one I called their game like 36 month window.
Here's the thing with, um, with Tuwa and Justin Herbert.
I was team two from the jump.
I, I've always been team two, uh, we're calling their games in college and just
watching how they played the position.
I thought Tuwa was, you know, like, like he had this PhD in quarterbacking.
I think the difference with where they are in their careers right now, Justin's at Superstar
Town, Superstar.
And it's had tons of highs in the NFL.
Tua, Superstar Town, the different place, stylistically.
The thing that I do think Tua has that Justin doesn't have right now and it shows itself is Tua has
the ability to be way more feel-based in football, way more nuanced based, meaning I know like
move that defender and throw it before he's actually moving to a window that's going to be there.
The different type of trajectory on throws. Justin, and this
was my sticking point with Justin Herbert in college, and it hasn't necessarily changed
the tone as well as remarkably physically talented. There is a little bit of robotics to his
game. If you watch a ton of his throws, I're, I call them flat. Like everything it feels like is, like, each hero from right field, you know, and sometimes
it's like, I needed 10% less of juice on that ball to get it there or that right throw.
So still think just as a superstar do.
I just think, you know, two ways, you got a little bit more quarterback feel and nuance
to his game that kind of separates him for me
All right, we'll have one more segment here with dad or a lot of ski. We'll do it right after this

Don Lebatard.
It's not that I just even know what this list is.
He was ahead of Tom Brady, who also won a playoff game.
A couple, yeah.
That was literally the most confusing list we've ever done.
He's got a better shot.
I'll come back.
I'm a man.
I'm a man.
I'm angry.
I'm angry.
I would have leave.
Still gots.
This would have been your day.
This should be.
You should own the sports media landscape. I am top seven guys. I would not want the show
No, I'm not allowing it
This is the down libita show with this two gods.
All right, we're back with Dan Arlovsky,
who was telling us funny stories about Jeff Saturday,
who is a cruel individual.
Dan, please share that audience.
Please share that audience.
Please share the audience.
The story you just told us about the former head coach
of the Indianapolis Gulls.
And the former head coach, I love it.
You guys actually like, do people walk into the office and think this is a giant mural
of Peyton Manning and I'm like, yeah, everyone thinks I'm Peyton Manning.
And I was like, you know, I love going Saturdays on Tuesday morning, get ups and, you know,
kind of talk about 2011 Peyton didn't play as a guy.
I'm like, gosh, we were terrible that year.
And I'm like, Jeff, I was the starter in five of those games. So, can we not, you know, who kind of talk about 2011, Peyton didn't play as they go. I'm like, gosh, we were terrible that year. And I'm like, Jeff, I was the starter in five of those games.
So can we, can we not, you know, can you have some sympathy towards the quarterback
that was there with you?
As you stop doing it, I mean, no, it's, it's almost like every Tuesday.
He, I feel like it's a strategic thing from Jeff.
And I, hey, remember when Peyton didn't play in the colt and we sucked, right?
It's so great. Uh, help me out with this. Kyle Shadahan seems to be a coach that avoids criticism. Why?
Because he's awesome. Uh, and, and he's taken so many different styles of
players and been really good with them and really successful with them. I mean,
think about it. He's
taken RG3, obviously. RG3 was an amazing talent, but RG3, you know, rookie of the year at Washington
was all of a sudden, somehow into a high level conversation, playoff football team. And then he's
taken Kurt Cousins and led that to become a playoff football team. And then even in Cleveland,
he had Johnny Menzel being like, you know, like maybe Johnny
Menzel is going to become a good player in the NFL. There was like a six-week stretch
where he started to play good. And then he goes to Atlanta with Matt Ryan and takes him
as an MVP and they go to the Super Bowl. And then he goes to San Francisco and he's taking
Jim. He's taken like these guys that I guess outside of Matt Ryan didn't have, again,
RG3 was a hydric, but, you know,
RG3 took the NFL by storm.
Kurt Kuznowski was a fourth round pick
and become like a really good starter.
Johnny Moodzel, I talked about that stretch.
Matt Ryan went MVP and goes to the Super Bowl.
Jimmy Garoppolo, a second round pick,
goes to the Super Bowl and then now Brock Purti,
it's, they he wins a ton.
You know, whether as an assistant coach or a head coach,
he's taken a bunch of different quarterbacks
and made him really good.
The creativity of their offense is always incredibly unique.
So I, I, I think that like sometimes he gets criticized,
criticized the playoffs, excuse me,
but the, the proof is in the pudding man, he can coach.
Dan, I thought Hardnock's in season
made a perfect choice with the Miami Dolphins.
Is there a team that you find even more interesting
that you'd like to see on that show?
I agree.
I think the Dolphins, because of how big their season's
going to be, it looks like.
And then obviously Mike McDaniel and Tuwa and Tyree Keele.
I don't think there's a team that I find more interesting or more willing to be interesting.
I think a lot of teams in the NFL can be interesting.
I don't know how many of them are willing to be as interesting as we want them to be.
It's great.
And it's comfortable.
Like Mike McDaniel comes off as wildly comfortable
in who he is and what's he about.
I would have thought maybe the Rams,
because of how young some of their stars are
and how well they're playing.
Jacksonville, although Trevor is so buttoned up,
Trevor, not that too, is not buttoned up.
But Doug Peterson's really buttoned up.
Trevor Lawrence is really buttoned up, because I think Jacksonville's going to be in the conversation
as this season goes on. Maybe Cincinnati, just because I'm a huge burrow guy, but I think
Miami's going to be a fascinating watch.
What happened to your lions over the weekend?
I got the black kid.
They did.
Dan Campbell loved it.
Dan Campbell loved it. That's what I love about Dan kid. They did. And Dan Campbell loved it. Dan Campbell loved it.
And that's what I love about Dan Campbell.
Football happened.
Yeah.
Here's, yeah, here's my thing.
Like what last week everyone was saying that they were the best team in the NFL.
You were just like, I was just like, I think they're a good football team.
I think they're a really good team.
I think they can kind of play and beat anybody.
But they know the best team in the NFL was a little bit ridiculous
to me. Just as if we're being real and not trying to take wise. Jared had been playing
awesome. The offensive line had been playing awesome. And here's what happened. The offensive
could not get a first down. They couldn't get into any form of a rhythm, play calling wise,
because they couldn't gather a first down. I think second of all, defensively,
almost looked like they weren't even prepared for Lamar.
The first touchdown, it's fourth and one.
Lamar could have scored from 1,000 yards.
We didn't have any eyes on Lamar or responsibility.
And their pass rush got a little exposed
from Baltimore's offensive line.
So they just got looked and it snowballed.
That happens sometimes.
And if I don't think the lines were exposed,
I just think they caught their Ravens
on a really good day and they played
as bad as we've seen them play in a year.
All right, we're gonna get you out of here.
We appreciate the time peeing in the shower, yes or no.
Absolutely.
Thank you.
Right.
Sometimes if you're not taking a shower, correct,
you're just peeing the shower, what?
Yeah.
I mean, it's just done that.
I've done that.
So we've all done it.
Yeah.
You want to know a really interesting shower thing to me,
and I don't get it, and Marcus tells me,
it's like a cultural thing.
When I go to obviously, we travel a ton,
you're at this hotel, I don't,
Marcus brings shit like sandals to shower.
Well, I just step in the shower. Yeah, he will not step in a public like a hotel shower
Unless he has his sandals with him so he travels with sand or shower shoes flip-lops to go shower
And he thinks it's disgusting if I shower in the the Mary out hotel
It's weird. I people opinion in the shower
It's weird. I people opinion in the shower. Yeah, definitely there.
It's my feet.
Yeah, I mean, I'm not licking my feet.
Like, is it a party?
Uh-huh.
Oh, yes, but I don't like it ever.
You go in there without sandals Roy.
Come on.
I'm not using shower shoes.
I'm just saying I understand his concept.
I don't.
You understand.
Do you look at me as a less of a person,
if I don't wear shower shoes?
No, I'm saying I understand what he's talking about.
What's the Halloween costume this year for Daniel Lopsky?
Oh, we don't have one.
This is the first year our kids are kind of like too cool
for school.
So, that sucks.
You know, they're, yeah, it's their 11 now.
So they think they're 25 years old.
So I don't have one, but
I'll just do their candy. All right. Hey, we appreciate the time. Thank you for doing this. We'll talk to you soon
There he is. All right later Greg. You have 15 seconds to plug the Greg Cody show with Greg
Wow, it's a big episode. We have a new Greg doesn't know movies
