Starting point is 00:00:00 You're listening to Giraffe King's Network. Welcome to the big suite, presented by Giraffe King. Why are you listening to this show? The podcast that seems very similar to the other Dan Levitard podcast. I'm sorry, I'm not going to apologize for that. In fact, the only difference seems to be this imaging. I have been tempted in restaurants just walking past tables to grab somebody's fries that if they're just there.
Starting point is 00:00:34 That hasn't happened to you guys. I've done it. And now, here's the marching man to nowhere, that face and the habitual liar. Just to God's, I think I have a rival after many, many years of thinking that Michael Jordan had the opportunity. He hits the shot over Russell to win the championship
Starting point is 00:00:54 of retiring in the most perfect fashion possible. And then he decided to keep playing and we got him in a Wizards uniform and it wasn't quite the punctuation that would have been perfect. I think I have now a rival to Michael Jordan on a person who could have gotten out at the optimal time and then just blew it. Bob Eiger, Disney CEO, got. He got out right before pandemic, as if he knew the pandemic was coming
Starting point is 00:01:26 and that parks were gonna close in China, as if he knew he got out, and then Disney gets hit by everything during the pandemic. Cruise ships, can't sail, amusement parks, everything goes kaput. And he decides to come back heroically. And now he's gonna sell parts. He's gonna sell parts of ESPN gambling.
Starting point is 00:01:53 They go into gambling now and they're going, Disney's not gonna wanna be with gambling. They're gonna sell ESPN. Disney didn't wanna be with the UFC once upon a time because Disney is the fantasy brand that doesn't want to be with the UFC once upon a time, because Disney is the fantasy brand that doesn't want to be in bed with dirty things, but desperate times, Stugots, make so that they're gonna sell ESPN,
Starting point is 00:02:14 and they're gonna be many suitors. There are many people interested. Apple, Amazon, everybody, Metal Arc. Metal Arc is not going to be buying ESPN. Too bad. Although that would be a hell of a story. If you purchased the ESPN. Yeah, that would be pretty good.
Starting point is 00:02:31 Bob Ike. I get a propanise on the dollar. Bob Ike had had a chance though. My God, he's got to be regretting that right now. He's pretty well compensated. I think he's doing just fine. And he has a second chance because Billy, you know, when he left, things fell apart. Now he comes back while things have fallen apart and he could be the savior again. I mean, he's losing the PR battle, right? He's put his foot in his mouth a number of times with the writers, striking stuff like that. Like he's losing that. I mean, when he retired, he wrote a book and everyone was like, wow, look at this guy. We were all gifted his book by our bosses. I read his book during the pandemic.
Starting point is 00:03:05 I was like, wow, this is great. Which by the way, is an incredible move, right? Like, you run a company and then you're like, you know what, we should do. We should buy thousands of my book and give them to the employees. Oh, I'm gonna make money off of that. Oh, cool.
Starting point is 00:03:23 That's a perk, but everyone should learn from this. It was a great book, by the way. I was like, wow, this guy's like, this is great. And then he said some not great things since he's come back. Disney has lost. I saw this the other day. It required some context. 12 million subscribers streaming.
Starting point is 00:03:40 And it's just because they lost cricket in India as a television rights deal. And so they just everybody, everybody in India is like, okay, don't need any, I don't, don't, don't, don't reason the watch. I don't need any more Disney in my life. Cricket is gone. I just, I'm stunned. He was, I thought he was gonna run for president
Starting point is 00:03:58 and he had such, such a pristine image as leader, as conqueror, as genius, and he comes back and all of it is crumbling at his knees in a way that has made for a few PR hits like the one that Billy is talking about. It's just, I've got to think that no matter how much money is making it said to be twenty five million dollars a year that there has to be some regret at what it is that he present the quagmire he presently finds himself and you say no Lucy
Starting point is 00:04:34 for twenty five million yeah before he had plenty he had plenty of money it's the cadal model right lake yeah i make forty million dollars a year and people in soul me and say that i'm bad at my job and I'm terrible and blah, blah. But I'm making $40 million a year. But they've never said that about, excuse me, Stu Gatz.
Starting point is 00:04:51 They've never said about Iger. He's terrible at his job. That's not, Gidell has gotten that since the beginning. That's not something Iger's ever gotten. Well, what he's gotten now, though, is that he's completely out of touch, right? Where he's saying that writers and people who are in the lower end are being completely unrealistic with what it is that they want in their strike and he's saying it from a billionaires retreat they're like okay this guy maybe isn't super in touch with what's going on right now but then is saying he had the perfect ending about we're telling you
Starting point is 00:05:16 is I'll come back forget about the perfect ending 25 million a year I will do away with the perfect ending I will risk all that for 25 million a year. I would say to you that Bob Eiger has made so much money in his career that he will never be able to spend it and he doesn't need the $25 million a year. Has nothing as a need for that kind of money. But that hasn't stopped billionaires before. Like he's still going to go back for the money. Yeah. It's gotta be really unpleasant to be doing what he's doing right now. Crazy to think that Michael Jordan only made a million dollars a year
Starting point is 00:05:51 to come back to the Wizards and Igers getting $25 million a year. I don't wanna be Jordan, but I'll be Iger in this scenario. Is that a bad threat? That's according to SportTrack. A million dollars a year? May salary. What, Michael Jordan made as a wizard the vet minimum
Starting point is 00:06:08 yet ownership though i look yeah ownership stake that changes things but his base salary according to sport stugatz has said and i don't understand why he is saying this that he refuses to talk about the jets i don't want to talk about them because i don't know how to feel about this team. I know the Aaron Rogers pass in the preseason was probably, well, let me do it this way. That passed by Aaron
Starting point is 00:06:32 Rogers in this last preseason game was better than any past Joe Namath has ever thrown. And so I don't want to talk about the jets because I am really confused as to how to feel about my New York Jets, because I know that on paper, they have a good talented team, but I don't wanna talk about it. And I know what I'm feeling inside, but I don't wanna talk about it. I know what I'm thinking inside my head, but I don't wanna talk about it,
Starting point is 00:06:58 because the things I am thinking are good things. And usually this time of year, I am thinking about really awful bad things up thinking, wow, it would be nice to go one in 16 and get Caleb Williams. I'm not thinking those things anymore. Therefore, I'd rather not talk about this, because I'm confused. They have the best quarterback they have ever had. Well, I mean, it's not saying much, but yes. But that is a reason by itself. If I put that in any city to have hope. I'm not sold on solid though.
Starting point is 00:07:28 He's a little too excited. You're in hard knocks, right? Everyone is watching your every move. You finally have this great quarterback. And he's like so excited. He's like talking to other players at practice. Like, he's playing. He's going to play on Saturday.
Starting point is 00:07:41 We're playing eight. It's just like, dude, you're sounding like a fan right now. Yeah. I'm like's he's too like excited and he's trying to do these speed You know, he's trying to convince jets to be commanders the weird thing is that they're you know, they're in the league I'm just not sold on this guy. Yeah, I don't want to talk about it. Okay, all right. We will do it without you then Did you watch hard knocks? Are you watching I watch two episodes of hard knocks. Yeah. Don't want to talk about it. Why have you only watched two episodes of hard knocks? I was away for the third episode.
Starting point is 00:08:10 I missed it. I taped it. I'll get to it. I'm getting to it. Wait. Hold on. Let's walk through your viewing habits. How did you do this? I watched the first two episodes. There was an episode last week, I believe. Yeah. Yeah. And I didn't watch it. How'd you tape it? What do you mean?
Starting point is 00:08:25 I just hit the series past. But you can watch it on your computer. Like you can even stream it probably wherever it is that you were staying. I think he's just saying he has it ready to go. I haven't ready to go. I didn't put a blank cassette in there and hit record. No.
Starting point is 00:08:40 Well, I want to go back for a second though, because we didn't actually talk about the R button twice. Oh, then that probably didn't record it. You probably recorded it and then unrecorded it twice. There's no way that still got to know how to stream from his devices. Anything. Like there's just there's no circumstance under which he can get hard knocks on his computer. You can watch it on your phone too like when you're doing a number two or something. Okay. You do fly a lot though. You don't know how to watch stuff on your phone. No. No. No. It's not available lot though. You don't know how to watch stuff on your phone? No.
Starting point is 00:09:05 No. No. It's not available on your plane, that's surprising too. I didn't have internet on my plane. This isn't furiating pretty perpetually to me that internet is unavailable on my plane because I am spoiled and we're still that you're charging me for internet. That's some bullshit. You're charging me so much for that flight.
Starting point is 00:09:23 It's the best eight bucks I've ever spent though there's nothing like me there's something about you get afraid like I think of my last flight was like I paid $20 on my last flight for internet and the internet didn't work there's something different though about about something about a scroll at 20,000 feet though it just hits different I love it because other you see other people that don't have internet you're just like I'm on my TikTok I'm with him I like not like to see the free option well wait no you pay for it no TikTok. I'm with him I like to see the free option. Well, wait no you pay for it. No, I was talking about the scroll
Starting point is 00:09:47 I like to see what's like available if there's like a little TV and the thing I like to scroll and see what's available Sometimes you two broke girls never seen it. Let me give it a try. Sometimes you can watch like a T-Mobile video and get it for free I do that and disconnect and reconnect and then watch the video again, and I have free You can only do that a couple of times. I don't think you can keep you alive. No, you can do it the whole flight. Yeah. Because I will go to my like Wi-Fi and say
Starting point is 00:10:10 forget this network and then I'll go back on and I forgot the network but they forgot me and I'm back. Sometimes I just like to watch the plane go across on that graph. Me too. Me too. Me too. Where am I at right now?
Starting point is 00:10:23 I like to see the heights too. Like are we a little too high, a little too low? But that's always moving faster than the actual plane. I feel like. I love to tell people when we've started our descent. Yeah. You can like feel it, feel that. We're going down in a good way.
Starting point is 00:10:35 Stugots, I know that you don't want to talk about it, but I'm assuming that you're assuming that Garrett Wilson is going to have 1,500 yards this season. I don't want to talk about it, Dan. That he's going to have 1500 yards this season. I don't want to talk about it to him. That he's going to be Devon T. Adams. Let's put up these are the things I don't want to talk about. Yes, I feel it. I just don't want to say it out loud.
Starting point is 00:10:54 Let's put up on the screen here for people because I'm here for this feud between the jets and Sean Peyton. They meet, I think week five this season. Sean Peyton had the audacity I think week five this season, Sean Peyton had the audacity to say that Nathaniel Hackett was no good last year in Denver. We know that he was no good in Denver. Aaron Rodgers did the aforementioned, keep my coaches name out your mouth. That's where it started.
Starting point is 00:11:19 No, but it was so good. My favorite part of that story is Sean Peyton saying he had a couple of lattes that morning when he had, when he did the interview. So he was too jacked up from, like he blamed it on the lattes. It was unbelievable. I've never seen that as an excuse from a coach. But so Sean Payton, and I got to think this is Garrett Wilson trolling Sean Payton. Sean Payton says that he doesn't want during Broncos preseason games. Didn't want uniforms off if you're done playing. No sunglasses, no bucket hats, and no interviews during the game. And then Garrett Wilson put on his Instagram a picture of him doing all of those things. He's got the bucket hat, the sunglasses, the interview, and he's out of uniform being interviewed during a game.
Starting point is 00:12:05 All right, that guy's going to be a star, correct? If if Aaron Rogers, if Aaron Rogers is healthy, that's 2000 yards. It's going to be a star. What are you expecting from that jets team, it's two gods. What are your expectations? I don't want to talk about 15 and two. I mean, there I said it. We have a quarterback.
Starting point is 00:12:25 Two losses against the dolphins. No. Third best quarterback in the road to visit. Two losses against the 17 and the whole Miami dolphins. Don Lebatard. Let's go to 80. Boom. He was bow.
Starting point is 00:12:44 Wow. I think Billy typed an eight instead of a B. Five's a clearest day. Wow. $2. Number eight. Number eight. He's Chris Conner on the line.
Starting point is 00:12:57 He's seeing. VCC down Libertar Show with his 2 Gats. I told 2 Gats that Isaiah Pacheco was coming on with us and he got really our show with his two cats. I told Stu Gatz that Isaiah Pacheco was coming on with us. And he got really gutterly excited like the football excited because he's like violent runner. Yeah. He runs so violent. And when I think of him first, I think of speed quickness. I think that first.
Starting point is 00:13:20 So I don't think violence first. He's got some speed. He's got some lightning, but he has thunder He does have thunder is hot violent runner of all time for me top five violent. Come on. Yes, I've got time all time Let's do the last time All time I say I'm he's shocked He's surprised by it and he should be with me. He should all be about and he's played Why is he was a rookie and it's hot five? Let's do it right now with Isaiah before we get started.
Starting point is 00:13:45 He's with us on behalf of sleep number. Sleep number is the official sleep and wellness partner of the NFL. Number five, most violent runner of all time, according to Stu Gotts. Walter Payton. Sweetness. That is not a great list.
Starting point is 00:13:59 Number four, Isaiah Pacheco. Say it's not a great list now, Data. Better now. Now, number three, three number three Marion Barber Number two John Riggins Ringo Miss list and number one O.J. Simpson Use what do you laugh? Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha because when i think of you for i think quickness before i think in i'm thinking uh... a dream peter sir uh... api
Starting point is 00:14:46 uh... yes uh... thank you uh... stugats right but you're asking which quality would he rather have not really what would are like not really what he'd rather have i'm not asking that i i'm just thinking which he prides himself moron if you had to choose one or the other i'll say lighten yeah because he's uh... you when he got into got into when he got into the league is a rookie, you were you were a lower draft pick, right? You were a seventh round pick. So what can you tell us
Starting point is 00:15:11 about what your expectations were on draft day and what you expected your career to be after draft day? You know my expectations on draft day was to you know be able to have the opportunity to make the team. And for me that was going to to camp have the opportunity to make the team. And for me, that was going into camp with the head on my shoulders and willing to take a grown-up man's job. With that mindset, I'm just going in there and blocking out the negative mindset and all the things that surrounding and all the the the the surround the things that's around me around the football and more so I had to focus in on my task and the job and and allow the game to come to me. What were you expecting on draft day? I was
Starting point is 00:15:54 expecting to get down to the Kansas City Chiefs and just just find whatever opportunity to get on the field and And that was special things for me. And kick returner, that was my mindset of going in there and allowing myself to have opportunity. Can you explain to us for the uninitiated, what an insane job that is kick returner. Yeah, I'll say it's very tough when you got 11 guys flying that you had on.
Starting point is 00:16:29 It's very dangerous, but when you trust the guys in front of you that you're going to war with, just know that, you know, that they're going to block it up for you to allow you to hit the hole. You played in the championship game last year with a broken hand? Yes, with a broken hand and a torn labor, which is a shoulder injury and, you know, my dog. That's all I can say, I'm a dog. You are a dog. That's what I'm trying to say. Right. Now can you take us through what that pain was?
Starting point is 00:16:52 Yes. You know, within the risk, you're just uncomfortable. Um, just had two weeks to recover from the injury from the, the risk was on the AFC championship game and the shoulder was just partially through the season. From our risk only had like twoC championship game and the shoulder was just partially through the season. From our risk only had like two weeks to recover within the time for the Super Bowl. So those two weeks allow me to get healthy enough to plan the Super Bowl game. And you know, the competition throughout the practice allowed me to be at my A game
Starting point is 00:17:19 when the game was here. Isaiah, I see you have braces on your teeth. So what hurts more a big hit by a linebacker or the orthodontist tightening your braces and what it feels like the next day. Oh no, the way Bobby Wagner hit me last year. Oh no, man. That's that's over the wake up. I'm really see you. I'm ready to answer. Because you hit Bobby.
Starting point is 00:17:40 Bobby Wagner's always in the right place. And it's all it's all I think of with Bobby Wagner. Do you have a moment from last year that you remember a verbal exchange with somebody? Somebody saying something funny to you or just something that was memorable that was said during play? Um, I'll say, like I said against the Rams, I played against, well, obviously, you know, played against those guys against the Rams defense, which is Jalen Rams, you on that side of the ball. And I honestly, I jumped, I was running the ball to the sideline and I jumped over him. And he
Starting point is 00:18:15 got up like, I remember him just diving down in my ankles and like, I could just see his head, just hit the right into direct into the dirt. And then after the play, he came up to me and was like, like, wow, boy, you got lucky on that one. And then he don't sound like, basically like motivating me to keep going and good job, type stuff. So that was all about, and when you got guys like that and the leads of that motivates you and respects your game,
Starting point is 00:18:44 I look forward to more things like that. What do you make of what was surrounding Eric Biennemy in going from the chiefs to Washington? What's that smile about? Because soon you say his name all I can hear in my practice right now. If I'm not practice, I still hear my practice. And, you know, that's something that motivates me
Starting point is 00:19:04 to go hard every day finished. So, you know I still hear my practice. And that's something that motivates me to go hard every day. Finish, finish. So that's my mentality. And it's in brain and it stuck with me. Just coach E.B. last year, things that he said last year it sticks with me to this year. And it's an unforgettable moment. And I always carried the things that coach Eric Biennemy taught
Starting point is 00:19:26 me and allowed me to be myself. What were your thoughts when Ron Rivera pointed out that the receivers with the commanders were having trouble with how tough Eric Biennemy was? It's football and like I said, I had to learn it out for myself and a lot of players take coaching different ways. Some players take coaching different ways than me. You know, I like that type of coaching. So every player is different.
Starting point is 00:19:53 You just got to know what you're working with and for coach Eric. You know, he just wants the best for artists, those players and he's going to get it out to you. What do you make, guys? In terms of the running back position and the compensation where guys running backs are feeling like they can't find long term deals, they can't find the deals that they want? What do you make of all this? For me, stay focused, have the mentality to come in and eliminate the distractions. For me, that's the distraction.
Starting point is 00:20:18 I don't want to get into that because when my time comes, it will come in, but for now it's right over. One day's time. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, that's what it is. Textbook answer. Textbook answer. Just excellent work. Just a professional.
Starting point is 00:20:33 He was a rookie last year. He's not a rookie anymore. He's not going to give you any headlines. I consider holding out, Isaiah. Yeah, that's you. Yeah. That's what he wanted from you. Before Andy Roji went to the grounds. I
Starting point is 00:20:46 Say give me something negative on Patrick my homes. I mean, it's just the best quarterback ever He seems like the coolest dude ever. Does he like fart a lot in the locker room like give me something negative on Patrick my homes I don't really have anything negative say besides He switches up his car is every other week. Yeah, that's that's that's that's that's what it does. It doesn't really. You're starting as a negative. They're probably bad for the environment too, right? Say it. Patrick, my home is killing the environment. Say it. We're just trying to get him to say things and hold out. One of the things that we do around here a lot is, we poke fun at Andy Reed,
Starting point is 00:21:30 the fact that he looks like a lot of different things. So I wanna play a game here with Isaiah, where you read these from one to 10, 10 being the best. Andy Reed looks like he waggles his fingers in front of a tray of donuts and says don't mind if I do Andy Reid looks like the guy running down the stairs from the brothel and his long johns because the lady of the night stole his boots and cowboy hat his boots and cowboy hat. I get out of five. Andy Reed looks like the guy who has his picture up on the steakhouse wall for being the only one to ever finish their famous 50 ounce
Starting point is 00:22:13 ribeye called the belt breaker. Oh, of course, Reed loves cheeseburgers. I'm gonna give that a zero. Andy Reed looks like a cartoon walrus. Oh my god. Yeah, y'all getting on the y'all goes re- they getting on y'all. I'm gonna get y'all a 4 on that. He likes these, too. Andy, he likes these. Andy Reid looks like a civil war reenactor
Starting point is 00:22:35 who just got reprimanded for wearing glasses that are historically inaccurate. That's about 6-8, 7-0. Andy Reid looks like he exhales loudly upon your nation. That's about 6-8-7. Andy Reid looks like he exhales loudly upon your nation. Doggun. That's what he does. We don't need a grade on that one.
Starting point is 00:23:01 It's just, it's simply accurate. Andy Reid looks like the guy who endured a harrowing experience of spending 14 hours with his arms stuck in a vending machine. Yeah, making me. Oh, man, I'm not going to raise these codes. All right, that's it. He's watching me. He's with us on behalf of sleep number. Tell us what it is that you're doing on behalf of sleep number. It's the official sleep and wellness partner of the NFL. Yes, sir. I'm a new member to the sleep number and you know, the sleep number is a big part of around the league and for us the cancels the chiefs you know we we use of a lot of the sleep number of products such as the pillows and the best um... to you know to to get better quality sleep
Starting point is 00:23:55 andy read looks like the resident who complains to the homeowners association that a substantial portion of his neighbors sickamores cascading over his freshly painted fence. He looks like the judge is at the state fair who places the first place ribbon on the largest pumpkin contest winner. He's done with that. See you later, Isaiah. Thank you for being on with us, sir.
Starting point is 00:24:22 Thank you for having me. It's a pleasure. Thank you, man. later I say thank you for being on with us sir. Thank you for having me as a pleasure. Thank you ma'am.
