Starting point is 00:00:54 Interesting. All right. Which people, the other Mormon people? Can David and I come to church? Well, visitors welcome. So it's like Scientology. Yeah, this is my empire's house. Please come in and watch our movie.
Starting point is 00:01:15 Uh-huh. Can we have your email and phone number? Mm-hmm. This is Jeff, he's going to follow you home. Hello? You're listening to the dollop. It's an American history podcast for each week. I Dave Anthony read a story to that. Okay. Wow. Garrett Threadold's has no idea what the topic is going to be about. Wow. Rude. I know. I know.
Starting point is 00:01:48 1790. That's not good. Or 1794. Okay, that's strange. Or 1788. But probably 1790. You have our Lord JTown. All those years. Wow, what a movement.
Starting point is 00:02:13 Peter Schien Ogden was born in Quebec, Canada. Oh, what happened? Are you going to learn about one of your cities? How was named? Oh, sure. Well, Agdon is the second most populated city in the state, Dave. Do you know that? Of...
Starting point is 00:02:34 Of... Mootah? Uh-huh. I want to be able to see it. Let me see it there. Peter's family had already been in North America for a while. John Ogden had been a pilgrim and settled in New York in 1640. He founded South Hampton, then he moved to New Jersey and helped establish Elizabeth
Starting point is 00:02:54 Town in Newark. Imagine being one of the guys who established Newark. The fucking pride. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And we'll put a Jimmy John's over there. and then another Jimmy John's. This is where the garbage will be. That's everywhere sir your design has it everywhere. In between the Jimmy John's. Yeah and let the town will smell like this. Yeah. So the family cranked out a lot of, quote, fiery lawyers and judges according to the Oregon Encyclopedia. Wow.
Starting point is 00:03:28 Peter's grandfather was Judge David Ogden. So he was one of the first graduates of Yale University and before the American Revolution, I was looking very, very good for the Ogden's. There was some pro-revolution. There were some loyalists in the family, but his patrioticists in the family, but as patriotic fever hit the colonies, the Ogden's were labeled as loyalists.
Starting point is 00:03:50 And they had to move to a loyalist enclave that established itself in Manhattan. And when the war was over, many of the Ogden's fled back to Britain. Okay. Well, they were honest at least. Yes, they were loyal. They were traders. Yeah. what? Traders no, it's filthy. Yes, that's what I do right. Yeah, you're bad people. No
Starting point is 00:04:13 Part of the loyal family. I believe in them. No, they're my dress of Smith Yes, okay, yes In 1788, Isaac Ogden was appointed to be a judge in Quebec. So he was appointed a judge in Quebec. That's where they were when Peter was born. Okay. Finally. They moved to Montreal when he was four and like all Ogden's, he was trained from the get-go to have a career
Starting point is 00:04:45 in law. But it really wasn't his thing. His tutor, a reverend, called Peter a quote, restless and imperious spirit. So the family finally gives up realizing he is not going to be a lawyer or a judge. Okay. He just didn't, he doesn't care about the law. He preferred quote, the wild and untrammeled life of an Indian trader. Okay. Great. Is that, yeah. Better. Those guys didn't do anything wrong. No.
Starting point is 00:05:23 We're still sorry. So at the time for young boys the famous and exciting life that they saw was that of a mountain man. Being a mountain man had recently overcome the the boyhood fantasy of going to see which had previously been the thing. Everyone was like, I'm gonna go to sea. Not if you look like that, no. No need to go. I'll tell you what, I'm wet enough. Ha ha ha ha.
Starting point is 00:05:55 If that guy wants to go to a salty discharge, bring him over this way, pal. Ha ha ha ha ha. Ha ha ha ha ha. I don't know if you know how the human body works. Oh, come on. You should not be wet. I know when I'm snaling.
Starting point is 00:06:09 You're not supposed to be wet. Yeah, I have them soft. Christ almighty boy. It's not too. I need some magic underpants. It's the only way to get me out of this predicament. So when his teens Peter left Montreal without asking his parents and went to an entry level position in the fur and trade business.
Starting point is 00:06:34 It doesn't seem like his family protested much and they expected this would happen at some point. So he landed a job working as a clerk for John Jacob Astor in 1809. That's the richest man in the world. What's, oh my God. Or America, maybe, I think the world. Anyway, he owned the American fur company and he made his fortune by killing and then taking the skin off beaver's otters and other really fun cute animals. Great. He was the first multi-millionaire in the Americas from killing and taking the skin off animals.
Starting point is 00:07:12 Yep. Yeah, further. For a long time, the Hudson's Bay Company was like an empire within an empire. It had almost a monopoly on trade in most of British North America. Okay. But then in the 1780s came the Northwest Company of Montreal. And so, Astor aligned with the Northwest Company.
Starting point is 00:07:38 So they're the two main companies. Okay. And the Russians are also, you know, the part of the picture doing Russia stuff. Well, you also want to take a shot at the flirt. And the Russians are also the part of the picture doing Russia stuff. We also want to take a shot at the fur. Yes, come here, Rotter. The Russians hope that the American, the Americans would push, Britain out. So there's a lot of tension in the fur biz.
Starting point is 00:08:04 But for a long time, traders and natives kind of work the system that allows everyone to interact and avoid fighting. Okay, wow. Obviously, there was some conflict, but for the most part, everyone's getting along. Interesting. In 1810, Aster had his eye on the not yet destroyed areas. One could only get through the mouth of the Columbia River. Okay. That was even though the British had already claimed it.
Starting point is 00:08:31 Okay, so he's got to sneak through the river mouth. But that was classicaster. He just put down some cash and he had a class, a class, a class, a class, he put down some cash and he just have a much guys do it. Right? Okay. So he said two expeditions to the Pacific to get control. One by C in the ship, Tonkin. Beautiful. And one by land. And the land one was just a shit shell.
Starting point is 00:08:57 The Tonkin made it, and they built a fort, but then it disappeared around Newtka Bay. They think they did it. No, well, they think the natives were like, okay, we disappeared around Newt's Cabay. They think they did. No, well, they think the natives were like, okay, we're just going to kill you. Right. So they have no record of that. I think they do now, I think they have, but definitely back then they were like, I don't
Starting point is 00:09:16 know, it's gone. Yeah, they probably just didn't want to admit it. Yeah. We don't know. We think God took it. So soon after Peter starts working for the Northwest Company, sometimes called the XY Company, it was mostly run by an employed by Highland Scots. So the fear was Hudson's Bay would totally take over and dominate the continent.
Starting point is 00:09:40 So fur traders put together their resources to hold off the advances of the Hudson Bay Company. OK. And as the XY Company expands, Ogden was sent to ILL across in Assess Cachewan. He was really successful, really quickly. One reason was because he was bilingual and could quickly learn languages of the native people and become very fluent.
Starting point is 00:10:03 It's amazing that just like learning to communicate, a camera is like, how does he do it? This guy is unbelievable. He's talking to people. Just kill them. That's what we're doing. Do you not understand? That's the move, buddy. Such a softy.
Starting point is 00:10:18 Well, you're going to love this guy. The other reason was he was a violent bully against people, quote, none of whom seemed able to stand up to him even from the lulley position of clerk. Auden was marked by the Hudson's Bay Company as a man to be feared, a tough ruthless traitor. Can you, that's the guy from the picture from before? That is who you're talking about? Yeah, help, help, help, hit the local judge. Is he gonna bulk up a little bit?
Starting point is 00:10:51 Cause he looks like screech. I just, this guy is the one who's like, people like, look out, watch out. This little string being is gonna get you. They're coming on shapes and sizes. Sure, wow, look at you. They realize you have a thing for him, dude. Ogan formed a partnership with fellow employee Samuel Black. Black was Scottish and his baptism record described him as illegitimate. Is that
Starting point is 00:11:22 something you need to have at the baptism? They get going to write this in, he's a fucking bastard. Today the Lord will accept this child that nobody else has interest in. Hold them under the water a bit longer. Nobody'd mind. Get him all bubbly. Turn the holy water into peri-a, that's what I say. Look at him. There we are. Not that anyone gives a shit, toss him in the bin.
Starting point is 00:11:48 There we are, we nothing has been gifted up to the skies. A little bastard is he? Look at him, crying, but nobody will listen. Father, I'm the mother, I'm right here. Oh, there she is. A woman will give it up any time of day. Does it matter? Not in the morning.
Starting point is 00:12:13 Yeah, we are listening. It's hard to find the mouth of a river, but you, we can get inside without the cash. merely an opening. Let it take it. And here we are, a boy whose father we know not. Here we are, have your stuffy little laddy. Can I just take my son? Sure he'll be taking him. What a beautiful day this must be for you. It's not. Yeah, gosh, absolutely lovely. You ruined it. Yeah, listen. God, what you're doing after this, anything. I don't know. I was thinking about having a rendezvous.
Starting point is 00:12:53 Beers. Do you clock out at some point, darling? I clock in. Oh, no, you've given away a bit of a turn off again. I'm seeing someone. Is it me? That's a faxie. So he sang it out with Samuel Black. His dad, Black's dad died when he was four. His uncle was a fur trader and he got Samuel
Starting point is 00:13:28 into the business. So he comes to North America in 1802 and Ogden and Black become known as a duo to everyone at Hudson's Bay's company's installations. Okay. They used what we're doing as bully boy tactics. Nice. They crossed the line of physical assault
Starting point is 00:13:48 that was common during the trade wars. What was the line? We're going to find out. I don't know, maybe it's like... Like what was it was just like nothing above the head? I can't grab the balls. No balls, no eyes. No poking in the eyes. No poking.
Starting point is 00:14:06 Keep it clean, boys. Keep it clean. In between bells. A small HPC post was set up within a mile of a Northwest company. We're Ogden and Black. We're at Lake Afabasca. Ogden and Black began harassing the Northwest company,
Starting point is 00:14:23 guys. Oh, sorry, the HPC guys. And at one point, they climbed over the stockade wall and quote, strutted around the yard with guns, harassing residents. But you're allowed to do that in this country. It's not. We're in Canada.
Starting point is 00:14:40 It's not a country. And yes, we're in Canada. But outside of that, no issues. You're allowed to do that. Slaughter rules everywhere. Yeah, I can go and do a din is with an AK. What they intended. Can we get a booth?
Starting point is 00:15:01 No. Probably for the best. It'd become pretty cumbersome. Got straw bearers here? Yes. Alright. Very. Woo!
Starting point is 00:15:11 This is normal. No, it's not. Yes, fine. What a dream. They were so wise. The Founded Brothers. No. Yes.
Starting point is 00:15:23 This is what they dreamt of. Yes. the Founded Vathers. No, yeah. This is what they dreamt of. Yeah, it's being in a golden corral with rifles. Yeah. Look at that. They used all kinds of abusive tactics to try to drive out the Husband Bay Company. Okay. Two weeks after the strutting around the yard, they came and physically beat the post supervisor, Peter Fiddler.
Starting point is 00:15:48 So it was considered just totally acceptable for Northwest Company employees to do whatever they had to do to get HBC out. So they destroyed a canoe, they ripped up the garden, and they scared away game. Fiddler quote, I suppose it was their intention to starve our people out. After a year what Fiddler called unfair and senseless behavior, they all agreed Fiddler and the HBC would leave the area for at least two years. So it just totally worked. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:18 They were just big enough dicks where they were like, all right fine. You're super annoying. Get the fuck out of here. Do like and leave! Yeah! Look out! Yeah! Okay.
Starting point is 00:16:32 Yes, tonight. It worked! I'm drunk! They agreed to get Fiddler and his men provisions and 500 beaver peltz. Jesus. What a weird negotiation. But then Fiddler and the guys did not leave. So the harassment continued until in the middle of the night,
Starting point is 00:16:55 Fiddler and his guys paddled out. In Ogden and Black then burned the post to the ground. So it wasn't strange too. They bullied him out and tried, They were probably ordered not to go. And then they finally were just like, fuck it, I can't take these guys. OK. So while in the Red River area, Ogden and Black
Starting point is 00:17:14 acted as if law enforcement did not exist. Well, yeah, they already kind of were, right? Yeah. OK. What was law enforcement then? I don't know. There's always a cop. Yeah, but he was like, you could like shoot someone
Starting point is 00:17:28 and they'd be like, what, why'd you do it? All right, keep going. Oh, I didn't even answer. Oh, why'd you kill him? I don't know. All right, come up with an answer. Why'd you shoot him? He looked at me.
Starting point is 00:17:39 Oh, sorry. Sorry to hear that. As you were. I believe that guy. Yes. Not, I'm talking to my buddies over here. Oh, I think you to hear that, as you were. I'll leave that guy. Yes. Not, I'm talking to my buddies over here. Oh, I think I'm talking to me. No, you can get going.
Starting point is 00:17:51 You have free Jew. I'm talking to my friend Carl. Free Jew? No, no, no, no, free Jew. Oh, free Jew. Yeah, I don't turn it into one of those things. Wow, it's just... Here we go, they're already trying to cancel this.
Starting point is 00:18:04 Ha, ha, ha, ha. Here we go, they're already trying to cancel this. Ha-ha-ha-ha. So, August certainly knew he would not get any trouble for his fucking hatred of everything and everyone indigenous. What little record of him there is during these years are in the HPC records. And so... They note there's an increasing disapproval of his tactics. Okay.
Starting point is 00:18:28 HPC was the one he was involved in, right? That's the other one. That's finally against you. Okay. So, yeah. So his company didn't keep records of what it, because they're like, no, listen. Right, don't write that down. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:40 Right. And they didn't just act this way to indigenous people. It was pretty much anyone who lived in the area. They were just fucking asshole. So they were dicks, right? Yeah. They enjoyed setting natives fishing nets adrift or cutting them to pieces.
Starting point is 00:18:53 Ogdom was known to often slash the clothes of HBC employees with a knife. He would laugh while he smashed their fingers with sticks or just slap them for no reason. Well, what is their deal? What is their deal? They're like, we're Gandhi. We will not fight. They will learn. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:19:07 Well, why would they not beat the shit out of him? I mean, I saw him before. I was like, buddy, I'm gonna fucking drown you later today. I'm gonna break their fingers. No, I'm gonna kill you. I mean, he must have had a bad ass or else they would have. Even then, I get four dudes. I'm gonna be like, look, we're gonna beat the fuck out of this guy later.
Starting point is 00:19:24 I mean, we are in the 18, what are we and be like, look, we're gonna beat the fuck out of this guy later. I mean, we are in the 18, what do we, 1700s? Yeah, we're gonna kill this guy. Real quick, too. I know, I think we're in the 1800s. Wherever we are, he's gonna die. It's over. We're gonna skin him, we're gonna hang his skin.
Starting point is 00:19:37 I'm gonna wear it. I'm gonna wear it around, and I'm gonna wear his skin and go beat the fuck out of black. How about that? Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:47 You're not gonna do it though. Yeah, well. Cause you're all talk. Oh man. It would be cool though, huh? Yeah. Imagine if I did though. It would be something.
Starting point is 00:19:56 It would be bad ass, right? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, it'd be hard though. But once again, I'll wake up tomorrow and watch him slap you in the face and you'll walk away and say something. Oh man, one of these days, man.
Starting point is 00:20:06 Yeah. Yeah. You'll challenge him. Uh-huh. And then I'm gonna wear him. Yep. I might already be him. Nope.
Starting point is 00:20:14 Think about that. Hey, Ogden. Okay, I got a pissant. Pfft. Piss the pissant so much, a a piss so much, Kim. So, the guys in the Northwest Company absolutely love Ogden Black. Philip Lirk Ross Cox called him, quote, the delight of all gay people and humorous, honest, eccentric. But he also called them, quote, logifying Peter Ogden, the terror of the Indians. But that was a compliment, right?
Starting point is 00:20:47 Yeah. He's pretty cool. He's crazy. He's an party guy. He's awesome. He scares people. Nobody likes him. He's the best.
Starting point is 00:20:55 I saw him kill so many people. You'd love it. He's awesome. So this, they were put in post after post it was the same behavior everywhere at one point So that was kind of what they they just like they just drove people out You see them coming be like so they were just they had a market on being dicks. Yeah, okay At one point augt and was accused of Of improper and unjustifiable conduct
Starting point is 00:21:22 Well, you've slashing people's clothes and breaking fingers like we're going to actually have to write you down. Sorry. Peter responded in Latin quote, Lex Nonscripta, which means the law is not written. He's got a twig, he's doing a spell, duck everyone, duck, he's doing wizardry. It's just Latin. Get down boys! Latin is coming our way. Put your head under soil! It's the only way to stuff this wizard.
Starting point is 00:21:52 It's fucking Latin! It's just another language. Oh! Now he's speaking down to us! Cessio or Maximonius? The fuck does that mean? I will have a magical battle with you, weirdo. I'm not a magician. He has got something going on. Well, I'm talking backwards.
Starting point is 00:22:11 I'm gonna have to slash your jacket. No, man. Poke your eyes. One of these days. Give you a rug burn on the old head. What a really weird big brother roll. No geek. No geek.
Starting point is 00:22:23 Strange. Pull your underwear up. All right. Tickle your balls. Really weird big brother role you can't even. Strange. Pull your underwear up. Right. Tickle your balls. What a weird turn. What? No.
Starting point is 00:22:35 Get out the cream and shave your chest. What? Are you still talking to me or what's going on? I drifted off. I got super bizarre. I'm thinking about other people in the audience. Yeah. So he did this thing, whatever it was.
Starting point is 00:22:52 And then he just kept doing it. He was transferred to another post in 1814, Great Lake Saskatchewan. And the population was mostly methi, or those who were mixed breed. That's what meti means. So he had what seemed just complete and total hatred for indigenous people. Well come to America buddy, what are you doing up there? Yeah, come on, we need a free agent.
Starting point is 00:23:18 And what is, okay, I'm curious what's going on with black at this point because it seems to be heavy-ogged and here we go Somebody needs a jam daddy needs another drink. Wow. What daddy have another? I'm good. Thank you But yeah, he's good. She's even want to have fun right relax We're here to professional capacity you say I'm gonna stay sober for the audience having it See what's happened? It really, it's like we've been in a body swap. Like me. It's like we both like held a Zoom recorder during a lightning storm.
Starting point is 00:23:58 And we're like, you have the easier job. And then we swapped it. I'm like, I got to do research. And Dave's like accents. Shut up. Don't clap for that. No, it's because it's spot on. Let's go. One, two, one. For you, buddy, you're good. I'm good. thank you very much. Yeah. Woo, I didn't know I was here with a tea totor.
Starting point is 00:24:27 Again, what's your deal with the alliance? She just pushed him in. Are you pushing him in and then you squeeze him? Your tactics are flawed. Your dad would not be impressed with how you get drunk. Jesus Christ. Let's go. Stop.
Starting point is 00:24:44 Oh my God. Oh my God, it's like nutrition. Oh my god, it's like nutrition. Oh my god, it's really bad. Holy shit, now this could be a show. I'm gonna be a show now. Stop. Don't love your dad. What is wrong with you?
Starting point is 00:24:58 I love you. Hey there people listening to the Jollup. Wrong with you! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH where we don't say that we're professionals because we aren't, but we try to help people with problems that are important to them. You can listen to it wherever you listen to podcasts, and it is out right now. So go listen to, we're here to help with Jake and Garrett. We're here to help with Garrett and Jake. I don't remember how we did it, but either way, fun, half hour comes out Tuesday, August 22nd, and episodes will be out every Tuesday and Friday.
Starting point is 00:25:44 We're here to help. So on October, on June 19th, 1816, 21 men and a governor, Robert Semple, were gunned down by Northwest men near Winnipeg. The only one of the Northwest side died. This was called the Seven Oaks Massacre. Okay. Because it happened near Seven Oaks. Sure, whatever. Because they don't name, they're bad at naming things. No, it doesn't matter. Are you sad? No, I'm just, you, you of your energies. Just, just, just, God.
Starting point is 00:26:14 Very good, I'm like, I'm gonna take you now. I just need you to just, you know what I mean? Take it down. You're like a whistling kettle. I just want it to, let's let it cool for a little while. You need to steep. You need to steep. You need to steep. Yeah, we need you steeping.
Starting point is 00:26:29 While he was at Al Alacross, Ogden took a native wife, as was the way of the fur trader. That's how they did it. What did you mean? They would all take native wives? Yeah, basically, because there were not a lot of... There's not any European ladies out there. Right.
Starting point is 00:26:45 Yeah. But they're like, you pieces of shit get out of here. What are you doing later? You don't have any rights. Get the fuck out of here. We own your land. I'm developing feelings. You seem really great.
Starting point is 00:26:59 Did your dad like me? Well, he's dead. You killed him. Oh, he did? Yeah. Could be which I find kind of hot. All right. Like a bad boy, do you? Yeah. Well, let's just say I killed everyone you knew. My tops off. Mine isn't. I can't your ex-ex. So he married Marie Cuntwa who was a mixed
Starting point is 00:27:28 cream woman and a dependent of a Canadian trapper. Oggin's first son was born on January 18th, 1817 and he named him Peter which was his name also. Very good. He looked at him. He's so weird and wiery. Peter's name. That year, Auden Black and some men took over a Hudson Bay company post and took a captive. Okay. And the employee was first to turn over an Indian trapper who traded with Hudson's Bay Company, which Northwest Company had ordered him not to do. Okay. But he was like, what if I just make a living? So the Indian Trapper was then killed, quote, butchered in a most cruel manner by Ogden and Black.
Starting point is 00:28:18 The idea that you can butcher someone cruelly. Oh, it was a humane butchering, we really. Yeah, there's a way to like you know separate it the shoulder and stop talking. Okay so they broke even the weird rules that were had. Yeah fucking broke up. Well for a second time organ declared Lexna Scripda. everybody, he's doing it again. He's conjuring a lava tornado. Knock down, hold your pets close and your loved ones closer.
Starting point is 00:28:52 It just means... Don't look at them in the eyes, he'll turn you to marble. It just means there's no... Stay low. No logic. He's trying to communicate in Wizard tongue. It's a legal term. Knock down.
Starting point is 00:29:02 Everyone make yourselves vomit, cover yourselves in it. His vision can't find you then. Have you ever been to a court? Buh-buh-buh-buh! Fing up your ears and your bums. He'll sneak in through any hole he can find. He's like that parasite when you piss in the river jumps up your pee hole. Duck down, boys! Hold yourself close! That part's true. Buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-bapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapapap You're right in front of me. You're a bar of donors. What? Shit, fuck up.
Starting point is 00:29:45 Shit, if I'm not shit up. Shhh. Hey, Tom, I can see you. You're right in front of me. I think he's talking to you. No, you fucking weirdo. You're whispering and looking away from me. Like, I can't.
Starting point is 00:30:00 I can see you even though you don't look at me. Are you four? Shhh. Play dead. What? Jesus Christ, but he's got the hearing of a canine. He's got the hearing of a canine. He's got the hearing of a canine. He's got the hearing of a canine.
Starting point is 00:30:11 He's got the hearing of a canine. He's got the hearing of a canine. He's got the hearing of a canine. He's got the hearing of a canine. He's got the hearing of a canine. He's got the hearing of a canine. He's got the hearing of a canine. He's got the hearing of a canine.
Starting point is 00:30:19 He's got the hearing of a canine. He's got the hearing of a canine. He's got the hearing of a canine. He's got the hearing of a canine. He's got the hearing of a canine. He's got the hearing of a canine. He's got the hearing of a canine. He's got the hearing of a canine. He's got the hearing of a I'll barf on you. No, not you guess. It was me the whole time I was laying down there. So he basically said, look, this business is on a lawless continent. Quote, we must, in our acts of summary legislation sometimes, perform the parts of Judge
Starting point is 00:30:54 Jury Sheriff Hangman, Gallows, and all. So that's what he said? Yes, so he's like, I do everything. And he's saying that this indigenous guy deserved the death sentence, because he was trading with the Hudson's Bay Company. Right, and so he was the one who cited him for the crime and judged the crime, sentenced the crime,
Starting point is 00:31:16 and carried out the punch. Slowly cut him into pieces. Yeah, cut him into, yeah, what we would call a vicious butchery. But regardless of how he felt, the warrant was issued against Ogden and Black. For what? So his reputation, whatever it was, is now in Tatters. So people are so crazy. They're like, you do whatever they're like, but now, wow, you are a dickhead. Well, his family called him a disgrace.
Starting point is 00:31:45 Because they're a family, you know, they're judges and lawyers. They uphold the law. The HBC now say, they basically see Ogden as a demon, and the most dangerous man in British America. Quote, fiercely loyal, even brutal partisan of the firm. Must be evil, instead of even even So it was pretty common for for companies to relocate Employees who had committed murder or other crimes so they would avoid arrest and prosecution like the Catholic Church
Starting point is 00:32:16 Come on come on. What? Oh, I guess that's okay. Yeah, fuck them. They're weird. You guys Yeah, you guys didn't're weird. You guys, yeah. You guys didn't do that. Spot on. You were great. No, no, no, no. Great with kids. No problem. Great. No, no, no, no, no problems with you. No, no, no, no, no, no.
Starting point is 00:32:33 Nope. Good to go. It's been no scandals. Give another wife, would you? Come on. Take it easy. You're old. So, they get weird. Huh? So they sent him. Come on. Take it easy. You're old. So.
Starting point is 00:32:45 They get weird. So they sent him super west out to Spokane House. Black was also sent west. I think this is when they stopped working together. They sent them to different places. Ogden has another son, Charles. With the same life? Yes.
Starting point is 00:33:03 OK. And then after Spokane, he's told to go to the mouth of the Columbia River on the coast okay the West Coast so he wants to keep the North-Weth North-Weth West you got gin tonne the North-Weth companies the primathy over the area Dave can I be honest what that I think we just found the new you. That is an endearing guy. Your anger would come across just a little cuter. Go fuck your felf. Come on. We live in a duopoly.
Starting point is 00:33:34 Good voting for these parties. They're all trying to get you. It's a corrupted system. Take it down from the inside. They've stood up in front of a bitty... These bastards! By the Trump, it's all part of one thing. They're just trying to confuse us with the differences for other reasons. Oh, bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-bif-b This is awesome. Now when you come back, don't not be lispin it up. Stick with it. So as his party travels to the Columbia, they were attacked by the Walla Walla, which are a subset of the Niz Pierce, it's a tribe up in the area, Idaho and such.
Starting point is 00:34:22 So he reported they, quote, made a stand and routed the Indians. Because of the attack, a new fort was built in the area and it was called Fort Nez pierces. This is a fuck name. Yeah. Like, yeah. It was considered important for it to the company because all of its exports and supplies went down the Columbia River and that's on the river. So, augmentation of other for companies, it's not the norm. It was common for traders to help each other, whether they're American, Canadian, British or whatever. But as far as beavers went, it's a scorched earth policy. So, why? You just, there's no's no loyalty when it comes to be nobody gives a shit about the Bevers
Starting point is 00:35:08 Nobody's like let's work with the beavers At Spokane House, we are trying to communicate with you people What don't you understand about what we're trying to do? At Spokane House orders were given to trappers to lay the region bare. Ogden said to quote, endeavor to destroy the country as fast as possible. So this is to just kill all the beavers. It's unfair and I would say this is pretty much our foreign policy, but to start fighting wars against an opponent who has no clue that there's a war.
Starting point is 00:35:46 Yeah, they're just like, I like that. They're just like, we will show these mother fuckers and they're like, that would to go there and then we should move the wood. Why are they killing all of us? We did nothing. Look, I have mud.
Starting point is 00:35:58 Hey, show him who's boss. Put a boot up his ass. These colors don't run you little fuck. Fuck. So they were basically, it was basically a beaver holocaust to keep the land from ending up under American control and stop them from profiting. So any conservation is out basically. They were there to render the entire industry useless in the upper Pacific Northwest, which means... At the cost of the beer...
Starting point is 00:36:28 It means a beer holocaust. Look at that fucking hands that son of a bitch. We'll have our revenge on you, you little... We'll show you someday. Probably not, honestly. How great would that be? Like, that's what's so great about the whales in the ocean. Probably not, honestly. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha Research it turns out the orcas have been attaching attacking hundreds of ships. Yeah, it's great. They're They're done so on board Really out Like even if I was on one I'd be like this is how I want to go He showed me we're sorry
Starting point is 00:37:21 From Fort George he let an expedition along the Pugent Sound to the North. He met and traded with the Cowlitz people and came back from that trip with the daughter of a chief. And then he married her off to a guy at Fort George in a quote, grand wedding. Although some people believe Ogden was the groom, but there's no proof of that. Wait, what? Yeah. Ogden's doing the old...
Starting point is 00:37:43 Double? Yeah. Yeah, which is fine. Which is fine? No judgment here. Whatever you want to do. I think that's the way it should be Every scripture I've read talks about how that's oh Keep super fine and really important to do that really fine. Yep, but women don't you dare fucking have a That's fucking to a, that's a disgusting, WHAT DICK! Okay?
Starting point is 00:38:09 Settle down, man. Let's keep a guy on. You can't whine! Alright, alright. I don't know if we need to drop the D-bum, okay? Just stick to what we planned. No need to gin it out. Don't let me hear you've had to. Dave. Stop it.
Starting point is 00:38:24 And where's that adorable list for messages like this? That was where we needed you. You've really veered off character. We found you 10 minutes ago. Oh no! For this Spanish picture. Alrighty. Sir, have you laughed?
Starting point is 00:38:43 OK. Once. One time? He's once, one time? He's having a good time. You're just like straight in my vision. So every time we're doing bits and you're like, Did you accidentally wander in here? Did you know what you were coming to?
Starting point is 00:38:56 You knew. No, you didn't know in this list. You saw by the tickets. Okay, so you're just like, we need to have a talk with our boy after the show. Call him up. Is your phone going? Jesus Christ.
Starting point is 00:39:11 Phenomon stage. How's it going? It's going all right. I mean, we just found out there's a guy back here and his son kind of made him come. He has only these last ones. What are you doing? Dave, can we kind of wrap it up a little bit, you know what I mean? What?
Starting point is 00:39:30 I'm just packing up on you. Oh, I'm alright. He's hanging up on you. You should get it, okay? Okay, thanks buddy. Bye. He told us to enjoy our skit. So there's no proof that he married here, but some people think that a squabble broke out between the cowlets and some iraquite trappers and
Starting point is 00:40:05 Ogden agreed to act as a mediator. Great, yeah, send that guy in. For sure, that's your liaison. Yeah, yeah, that's the guy. Alright, let's send the coolest head over there to sort of communicate how we're feeling. So I've heard both your sides and I think you should both go fuck yourself. Yeah, alright, let's fight. But the iraquite we're not interested in, instead Massacre a dozen cowlits men, women and children. go fuck yourself. Yeah, all right. Let's fight. But they are quiet.
Starting point is 00:40:25 We're not interested. And instead, Massacre a dozen cowluts, men, women, and children. And Ogden just had to stand there watching, unable to do anything. Okay. After he convinced the cowluts, they would be safe at Fort George, and they all headed for it. But he forgot to tell the male men guarding Fort George, so they opened fire on the cowlots when they saw them. No, no, no, I said, uh, get up. Yeah, what a, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops, whoops I didn't text. Do you remember I was saying how would he get like I'm forgetting something into them before him?
Starting point is 00:41:05 He could have sent a messenger. Oh, right. Okay. Right. Right. But then they would have been like look out guy Or he could have walked in front of that gun in front of them right anything but like second It was being like the strangers you go first. We'll figure it out So after the cowlets in the area never trusted white trappers again Which is the way to go for the first flight. White rappers? White rappers, yeah. I never trusted them.
Starting point is 00:41:28 Yeah. So Augen moves back to Spokane House. Now he doesn't know. He doesn't know a warrant has been issued for his arrest for when he murdered that Indian trapper. Sure. He's got to be okay. Two years before.
Starting point is 00:41:42 Two years before. And now he just finds out. Right. As far as he knew years before. And now he just finds out. Right. As far as he knew, he just spent, he just been sent west because of there was heat on. He didn't know it was official. So, at this point, the Northwest Company controls pretty much all trapping along the Clumpy River. But Spokane was to the east and Hudson's Bay Company was in the area. Uh-oh. And Auddon found out about the warrant and realizes he can't go east anymore.
Starting point is 00:42:08 Well, what's our black update? Is he, what's his deal? He's just gone in that other room. Yeah, I mean, we got rid of him because he's just in another place. Okay. And like, it follows this. His story is not as followed, like, it's hard to control.
Starting point is 00:42:19 Okay, okay. Okay. So he spends this time in different locations around the area, and then in 1821, his nightmare happened. After years of big deadly enemies, Hudson's Bay Company and the Northwest Company merge. No, no, no! I have to kill myself. Fuck me!
Starting point is 00:42:42 The only way to do this. How dare I I didn't just cut his own head off So this is a massive merger in the business world Right this is like Apple and Microsoft coming together for a big face our first merger a merger of two companies that killed cute very animals for profit sure they, they agreed that, right, we need to do this better together. So Americans in Oregon country are totally shocked. It was a British and Canadian alliance,
Starting point is 00:43:15 and the name chosen was Hudson's big company because they had the British charter. Creative. What a meaning. So the American government is also like, what the fuck just happened. And Ogden assumes he'll be a big. So the American government is also like what the fuck just happened. And Ogden assumes he'll be a big part of the company because of all this stuff he's done for the Northwest Company. Yeah, they don't need him as much because they're like listen muscle.
Starting point is 00:43:36 Yes, we're good. Yeah, I mean they're basically like yeah you have this terrible history of violence against half of our company. Yeah. So so awkward for him where he's like, how are you Ted? Real sorry about how crazy was that back there when your wife did pass, yes. Yes. I didn't, when I threw, I didn't realize they were all that that was so sorry. You killed my wife.
Starting point is 00:44:06 Yeah, no, and in retrospect, what I'm looking for is to work together in a... We were trying to work together back then. I understand, and I'm ready to accept those terms at this point, because I think that that is what we need now is one company to help our profit margins and whatnot. I think we need to work as one. And I think, so while I'd like to buy you a bruski, my man. I don't want a bruski for the guy who killed my wife.
Starting point is 00:44:39 Yes, I understand that. How's your son though? He died also. No, I thought so. Remember when you burned down the fort? Yeah, I did. He was in there. Yeah. I did you not get when I said everyone get out? I was saying get out of here. I'm gonna burn it. Did you guys not hear that? He was terribly sick and couldn't move. Yeah, no, that is well maybe in the long run. It was a flu. It was a flu. Yeah, yeah, no, I know. Well, I mean, people I we'll never know, but what? Oh, we know.
Starting point is 00:45:08 Well, we know. And what is great is that it happened a while ago. I mean, that was what, 10 years ago? It was like one and a half. Yeah, so it was almost 90, 90 months ago at this point. So, well, whatever, it was 15, 16 months ago. And I think, yeah. Yeah, well, look who's coming to the agreeing table.
Starting point is 00:45:26 Well, well, well. Welcome to the, we're on the same page party. Would you like a little fun dip? I brought some. Oh, I don't want fun dip. Oh, my God. I'll tell you, I am vibing and clicking. I don't think you know what those words mean.
Starting point is 00:45:40 Well, I'd love for you to teach me, amigo. There's one thing I need right now. It's someone to fill in some gaps. I'm gonna get you fired and help that you get killed. Anyway I'll see you around the office. I would having the best time with you, my man. Had I known how much we did it off, I would probably have left here, oh man. I'm gonna be like, I'm gonna be like, I'm gonna be like,
Starting point is 00:46:10 I'm gonna be like, I'm gonna be like, I'm gonna be like, I'm gonna be like, I'm gonna be like, I'm gonna be like, I'm gonna be like, I'm gonna be like,
Starting point is 00:46:18 I'm gonna be like, I'm gonna be like, I'm gonna be like, I'm gonna be like, I'm gonna be like, I'm gonna be like, I'm gonna be like, I'm gonna be like,
Starting point is 00:46:24 I'm gonna be like, I'm gonna be like, I'm gonna be like, I'm gonna be like, I'm gonna be great. I talk sometimes when I'm trying to make up for murder deficits. So that's my go-to sometimes. I will keep babbling. I'm going there. Okay. Now get out. You going that way? Let's head that way, man.
Starting point is 00:46:35 That's happening on the other way, actually. Yeah. I'll go that way with you too. I'm not going to get a bite to eat real quick. You like chili? No. I hate the stuff myself. Can't stand it.
Starting point is 00:46:44 Doesn't agree with me. You like bread. No, I don't either goes right to my hips Kind of a wiry guy, but you'd be surprised how about some ale or maybe a whiskey I think I might just set myself on fire right here Hey, well, let me do it for you. I'll do you impression of your son Wow Oh me do it for you. Do we impression of your son? Wow. Oh my God. Soak it in, buddy. These are the days we're going to look back on one day and think, man, we had it so good back then. So August has rejected for all new positions in the company his previous actions left a quote Host of lifelong enemies in the company. Hey I mean he must be walking around like did I kill
Starting point is 00:47:34 Was his cute why is he I see is he just kind of quiet or did I kill someone close? I mean I killed a lot of people They put him in charge of Fort Thompson, but then an employee list of the new company was unpublished. An employee list of the new company was published. And Auditor Black were listed as, quote, deemed unfit to serve. Okay. So they just send out a list of where all the employees stand. So Peter Ogden is fired. For what? I don't know. It's fucking economy, bi-denomics.
Starting point is 00:48:14 He has no other skills. It's not like you have the other thing you can do. I think it would be a carpenter. I want to serve. be a carpenter. Governor George Simpson was also an illegitimate kid. Jesus Christ. He's in charge of the company and he said that Peter was quote capable of doing anything to gain his own ends. I'm bugged. So Ogden decides he's going to go to London to the company headquarters and seek forgiveness This is one of this is like his third act. He's like this is what I'll do and he just they just need to meet me They just gonna meet me and they don't like me. I'll kill him right
Starting point is 00:48:57 So his father is also Dying in London, so it's a dual visit, you know see the old man get the job back. Sure. Cool that that was like second on his list. Yeah. Right along there, I'll go and say bye to my dad. And London Peter got a meeting to plead his case with company leaders. And Simpson, not easy to win over. Sure.
Starting point is 00:49:18 He thought Peter's quote, combative temperament would be a problem in America, which was full of rival traders and Native Americans. At the same time, Simpson was often called, quote, the little emperor and was known for hating mixed people, even though he had at least six mixed kids by six different women. Boy, get to America pal. He better than America, that's where he did it. Oh cool. Fuck yeah.
Starting point is 00:49:47 He had one white kid with his wife, so that was exciting. Right. He would eventually leave his wife to marry his cousin and not tell his wife he had left her anyway. Christ, this guy. Wow, he's a lot of little facts on this fellow real quick, huh? Anyway, he's in charge of the... That's his big company. He's in charge of...
Starting point is 00:50:06 Yeah, he's the taste maker. All right, well, I'm just gonna bang my cousin. Should you tell her? No. I'm just fine. So, Peter's father dies while he's there, and Peter inherits one eighth of the fortune. And then, you know, he made his case
Starting point is 00:50:24 and he heads back to the American West without knowing what was going to happen with his job. Okay. The journey was very difficult. Food was scarce, and they ate mostly Pemakkin. They ate mostly what? Pemakkin, which is a survival superfood made from pounded meat and melted fat. Hey pounded meat, right? Hey, what's up? Stop it. Oh, it really does look like, like, uh, jerky. Yeah, but I think it's grosser.
Starting point is 00:50:54 Really? Interesting. Didn't know that was possible. Yep. All right. Interesting. Do you think anything they say, don't let a chevron jerky wise was the bottom?
Starting point is 00:51:02 Well, boiled peanuts is probably the bottom. Boiled peanuts? If you've never been to the South, if you go to the South, you go to gas stations. There are crock pots with boiled peanuts in them. Yep, that is horrible. He knows. He knows.
Starting point is 00:51:17 And you've eaten those? No, not yet. No, they've really included you in the show. It's like, sir, with you. It's the third wing. Look, it's the third wing. They have, they've really included you in the show. It's like sir, what are you? It's the third wing. Look, it's the third wing. They have, they enjoy them. I don't know what, it must be a soft peanut, right?
Starting point is 00:51:33 What else could it? It is a soft peanut. Has anybody have boiled peanut? Yes, go ahead. They're gross. They're gross. Are they hard? They're supposed to be hard. If you do it too long, then you're like, well, this is overboiled.
Starting point is 00:51:53 Isn't the downside peanut butter? Isn't like, where's K-Shock? Oh, boy. No. Have I ever burned peanut butter? Why would I cook peanut butter? I've been real high, but I've never burned peanut butter. Why would I cook peanut butter? I've been real high, but I've never burned peanut butter. I'm certainly probably been close.
Starting point is 00:52:07 Who knows? I'm like, we should fucking bake it. Like a pizza. I'm tired. Oh, shit. Oh, no. Fuck. So, someone right now in the South is like, Oh. Fuck.
Starting point is 00:52:28 So. Someone right now in this app is like, these guys are such idiots. Yeah. Jesus Christ, they don't like peanut. Peanut, you do. Proct is podcast. Gets rid of the worms. Goes over to iTunes.
Starting point is 00:52:38 This podcast doesn't understand oil peanut. Yeah. Finally lost me. Next thing you know, they're gonna see back fat is bad. Fat back, does it wrong? Fat back, fat back. That's disgusting. You walked through a grocery store in the south and it's just a slab of fat from a pig and they sell it.
Starting point is 00:53:00 Like you can like, then you take it out and just fucking eat it. Like it's a candy bar, but it's fat. Yeah, that's good. No. I'll tell you what, like, then you take it out and just fucking eat it, like it's a candy bar. But it's fat. Yeah, that's good. No. I'll tell you what, I put on a lot of weights and stuff and eat it all that fat. So, uh, the Pemakin hard to eat, so he used grease to help it go down. Oh, she's so Christy. You know what meal's bad when you got a throat loop. Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, that's not the same as the other other
Starting point is 00:54:06 other other other other other other other other
Starting point is 00:54:22 other other other other He was sick from like a food, he was delirious for a time, but he made it. He made it back to Spokane in October 1823. And the men at the Northwest Company were pushing back against the Hudson's Bayes Company's narrative of Peter while they had been gone. They said he was, quote, an astute, entireless workhorse. And then the whole murdered thing, bad guy, just kind of faded. Okay. And Peter, so he just kind of faded. And Peter, so he's kind of brought back in,
Starting point is 00:54:49 he gets married again to Julia Rave. He's married twice still, right? So, we see that part again. Probably maybe once, we don't know about this segment. Okay, but he's okay. Well, I would say now, I think there is a third. Yeah. Because you've got a tendency to be like, sure, whatever. Yeah, he definitely is married. Yeah. Again. And that's okay. How does that happen? The other one, the other one just gone, it's not around. Sure. Out of the picture. Uh-huh. It's probably wandered off on a buffalo
Starting point is 00:55:18 whatever happens. Uh-huh. Yep. Okay. There's still one. He was definitely married still. This is what happened with mountain men. No rules. Lexa, whatever. Sure. His new wife was Nez Piers, flathead and Salish, and it was understood. He was leaving behind a crewwoman and at least one kid to marry Julia. She was six years older and he called her the old lady.
Starting point is 00:55:53 I love Pat Nams. Get over here, you old bag. Oh, man. Yeah, I'm a little wrinkle woman. Give me a raise. So Simpson just slowly kind of backs off his stance on Ogden and decided what he had done was no worse than many others had done. And he conceded that Peter's skill and knowledge of the region were needed. Peter was
Starting point is 00:56:19 quote, grudgingly accepted back into the new Hudson's Bay Company. Nice. Super weird. Yep. Super. It's almost like he's just a little time. Well, it's weird. It's like almost at the beginning of America, you still can't fail.
Starting point is 00:56:34 Yeah, right. That's exactly right. I just take a couple years, even though you don't really need to do that anymore. Wait, it used to be the grace period where you'd be like, I'll fuck off some wrist-lap for a little while. If it was today, he would have been at Spokane. You know what, I've had a problem.
Starting point is 00:56:48 I'm gonna check in a rehab. I don't even think that. I think you would be like, this is bullshit. I never did this. This is so, my wife and I, my wife's not, my wife and I have gone through so much, and I didn't even do that. And when I did do it, you were supposed to do it,
Starting point is 00:57:04 but I am sorry. Also also I'm still touring and I'll still be on tour and I'm sorry, but I didn't do anything Don't cancel me Yeah, you're probably right. Yeah So they sent him on his first assignment to peace river in the far north. He now, he's a river. He's now a full time explorer and he's leading expeditions and Julie would go with him. She's a big influence on the journeys. She's super skilled.
Starting point is 00:57:35 In 1824 they went on a snake river expedition the last of the year. A snake river expedition had just been tried by another guy, MacDonald the year before, but he gave up calling it quote, so disheartening. Okay, wow. They had had a shootout with some black fee and then MacDonald later got into an argument with an air quadrapper and a gun accidentally went off.
Starting point is 00:58:02 Wounded MacDonald, so that was a shit show. Okay. And McDonald is now replaced by Peter as the expedition guy. Okay. So Peter's not 30, he has 13 years experience. I believe he's only 30. I know, right? Yeah, it's just crazy.
Starting point is 00:58:15 This one always happens with these. And I'm like, all right, so what is he? He's 68. So the guy's 30, he's killed 500 people. He's 30 years old, just turned 30. Other clerks would wait decades to get the chance to head expeditions. Under his command he had 71 men and boys, 80 guns, 300 traps, 400 horses. Nice.
Starting point is 00:58:37 He did not allow anyone to drink because... You wouldn't work for him. Well... You were male to be part of that crew. Would you list me? Well, you wouldn't know what to do with yourself. This is a family tradition. This is my people.
Starting point is 00:58:55 Yeah. It's been very strange to watch you coming to your own. It's just ridiculous. So they started out on the expedition. They were drinking, they were getting into fights. So then he outlaws boozing. That's how that happened. Okay.
Starting point is 00:59:17 So between no booze and the Hudson Bay company doesn't pay as much as other companies. A lot of men start defecting and going off to join American companies. Okay. And the American parties were described as quote, free and easy. Okay. America, but I said, free easy baby. Yeah. I think of America, I think free and easy. Yeah, absolutely. They're gonna work on it. Not fashion to work in a good, not fashion area. For a bit, they joined up with a party led by Jeb and I Smith, who finally at Jeb a diav,
Starting point is 00:59:51 waited so long, who Peter found incredibly annoying and could not wait to get away from him. He must have wanted to murder him so badly. Yeah. He's just like, I can't. Hey, Peter, how you doing? What have you been up to? Gum rules
Starting point is 01:00:07 What a plastic tank, how are we getting? God damn it! I was thinking maybe this time I could go first, I'm gonna put that X in the middle Oh, I wanna stab you in the head I came up with a new song today I don't say it I'm giving down
Starting point is 01:00:23 Oh yeah, that's his, my name again. Oh, God. Yeah, you are Peter. You are my best friend. We are a team. We like to kick it together when we die, we still hang out in heaven forever. We're going up in the water and we're going to if you and me just do. We should grow similar bears and look like each other.
Starting point is 01:01:12 That's what we do when our friends we are brothers. I like to hug my buddy Peter and I'm giving Daya a bowl to you again. Hey. I'm yeah, but I don't really get it. Hey. Hey, I was fixing to ride a different song with you tomorrow. Then we could sing it together. And we could sit around the fire and talk to each other all the time. They would.
Starting point is 01:01:39 Why do you look like your eyes getting so red, brother? They reach the bare river system and split off from Smith's group. Well, I can't believe we got to take a bite of each other at the bear river. We already left you. No, no, no, this is the goodbye. No, you're gone. No, we have to say farewell. No, we don't. Brothers will not treat brothers like that.
Starting point is 01:02:03 I go on and give you something to remember me by that way when we meet up again. I hope it's your heart. It's my beard. I shaved it off into one piece. I was thinking you could put it around your head like a headband. No. What did you give me? Nothing.
Starting point is 01:02:22 How about I get your pants? I'm going to pee on your shoes. Oh, I don't hate it. Love you so much. Now, the bare-roar system that they were in fed into the Great Salt Lake, and at this point they had 3,000 beaver pelts. What the fuck? So yeah, it's all just for warmth.
Starting point is 01:02:51 Or is it, or is it? No, it's for hats and like fucking whatever. But that's what it means. So it's kind of fashion based. Yeah, it's definitely huge. So a lot of these beavers could be living. Oh, 100%. But it's just like, it's absolutely not necessary.
Starting point is 01:03:03 Yeah. My goal is for everyone to put on so much beaver that eventually like people like kill it big one So they're These beavers are becoming sentient keep stabbing So they discover that American expedition has already come through the valley and trapped like the hell out of it. So they head to the northeast, northeast of Brigham City and Salt Lake and they started
Starting point is 01:03:35 trapping. And that area would become known as Auden Valley, named after our hero. After that they headed to Oregon and one day they camped at a mountain green on Weaver River and a party of 30 Americans roll up. Nice. Led by John Gardner and they set up camp 100 yards away. And that night Gardner came over and tried to pressure Ogden into leaving. He told them they were trespassing and had to leave immediately. And he doesn't know who he's fucking with. He's prepared to fight.
Starting point is 01:04:13 Ogden is like, buddy, listen, I am going to murder you. I'm just going to picture Jeb a Daya. So Ogden doesn't back down, as expected, sure. The next morning, Gardner came back and told the Hudson Bay trappers they had no way out. So, Ogden doesn't back down as expected. Sure. The next morning, Gardner came back and told the Hudson Bay trappers they had no obligation to the company and offered $3.50 per beaver for any Ogden member who would switch parties. So, that's much more than the company's pay. Okay.
Starting point is 01:04:42 He also offered supplies cheaper and protection if Ogden tried to resist. So HPC were overcharging and underpaying the men. So there's no loyalty. So some of the Eirikwai went into Trappers' tents to talk Ogden's men into bailing and Ogden, he doesn't negotiate, he holds firm and some of his men start breaking down their tents and going 100 yards away. But he's like, I'm a badass. Thank you very much. Oh, interesting.
Starting point is 01:05:16 It's water, reliance. Yeah, sure. No, it's not like being with my dad. Why? Because I don't love you? Oh! He took a shot! Because I gave you a handful of quarters earlier. They don't know what that means.
Starting point is 01:05:51 It's sad. It's sad. We'll tell you after. So there's a big standoff, right? And now these guys are bailing. 23 of us men defect and go to Gardner's party. Some took company horses and supplies with them. Ogner said they were stealing and tried to take the horses.
Starting point is 01:06:11 So it's getting very, very tense. And Gardner said he would defend any deserter. OK. But Ogner is kind of just trying to posture. Well, Gardner's showed up and said, this is American territory. Right. He went to Belong-Air. And Ogner is trying to keep? Well, Garner's showed up and said, this is American territory. Right. And Ogner's trying to keep the guys from leaving,
Starting point is 01:06:28 but he can't pay them more. OK. So he's also going to whatever. Yeah. No, he's not whatever. But he's like trying to stand his ground. OK. It's not going well.
Starting point is 01:06:37 Right. So Garner sends a defendant, any deserter, an earquie who had left, shouted, quote, we are superior in numbers. Let's fire and pillage them, and then they all start pointing guns. She says they're like, all right, cool, we're just waiting for someone to suggest it. Some men ran to grab horses outside of Ogden's tent. Julia had strapped their eight-month-old to the saddle. So she had to run over to the American camp and pull the baby off the horse. Jesus.
Starting point is 01:07:12 On her way back, she grabbed her fur and horses. I like that move. She's like, well, I would leave. There was no shooting though. In that night, the rumor on Ogden's side was that the Americans would attack in the morning, but it didn't happen. Ogden ordered the camp abandoned and hustled off before anyone else decided to defect.
Starting point is 01:07:33 Now, after it was over, neither party knew they actually were not in American territory. They were in Mexican territory. So American to be like, get the fuck out of America. Shit, we must be. I mean, that seems so confident. Yeah, they're really super. They seem like they the fuck out of America. Shit, we must be. I mean, that seems so confident. Yeah, they're really super. They seem like they know what they're doing.
Starting point is 01:07:49 Yeah, they really do. They look at the fuck out. Yeah, we better really kick our ass. Yeah, yeah, they have America. I think this is Mexico. Same difference. Move. So, Agngo South and Turk-Khaliforne.
Starting point is 01:08:06 He names Mount Chastah. Oh, nice. Originally, he was called Sasty. By the way, time to go back. I know, right? Yeah, this is Sasty. Hello. So, they'd already, the dating people have already named it, and this white dude rolls
Starting point is 01:08:23 through and goes, no, that's Chess to now. Chess to. And they're like, no, we already have an amenity. If I get now, I'll call it that. Now we call it that. I mean, imagine us doing that. I can't. All over.
Starting point is 01:08:34 I can't. Strange. So they head back towards Salt Lake and some Native Americans. These are the first whites they ever saw. Oh, man. Their party runs low on food. They celebrated the New Year with, quote, more fasting than feasting.
Starting point is 01:08:52 A toast. Never mind. Five, four, three, two, faggot. Fall over. Yeah, starving. Of the next 10 days, half the horses became too lame to go on and they killed an 812. They love eating the horses. That's a lot of work. I feel like yeah, and I feel like a lot of times the horses aren't. They're just like,
Starting point is 01:09:14 same a little off to you. I mean, he's trotting a little different. Yeah, yeah, trotting right after all. I think it's time to kill and make him into a stew. Yep, yep, let's go. You would think the horses, when they're leaving, they're like, I am so fucked with these idiots. Oh, yeah, yeah, it would take off. The beaver hall was now 265. Are they eating the beavers?
Starting point is 01:09:38 Part of me. We'll get to that. You always should, you know. But then floods hit and washed away a lot of their traps. You always should you do. But then floods hit and washed away a lot of their traps and then six feet of snow fell. Okay. And bands of snake warriors start attacking. Oh my God. By the way, I've got a new favorite name. Snake warriors? Shit.
Starting point is 01:10:01 Snakes were scary enough, warriors fierce enough. Together, oh God. Two Canadians in his group were killed, and then three Hawaiians. Look, I'm not gonna get into Hawaiians, but there were fucking Hawaiians there. Like, it's the crazy, when I got to this point in the story,
Starting point is 01:10:19 I was like, what in the fuck just happened? But like there was a ship that went over and came back there was like a trapping ship and then they stopped in Hawaii And they're like hey, you want a common Hawaiian's like yeah, I'm fucking stupid all right And then they got on the ship and then they died in fucking Oregon. All right a bad idea. Let's go Imagine leaving Hawaii be like what did we do? I mean imagine leaving Hawaii or Spokane oh You said it was gonna be way better You haven't been to the downtown There's no downtown
Starting point is 01:10:58 So now they're starving and they have to eat beaver which which is not good starving and they have to eat beaver, which is not good. Yeah, I mean, why is it so bad? Looks like pastrami. It apparently is really horribly tasting and not good food. But if you're starving, I can't imagine being starving, being like, bit chewies. Like what an asshole. And the idea that you're killing all these beavers and just being like look at that box. Yeah, yeah. Well, you deserve.
Starting point is 01:11:30 Well then they got all very sick within 24 hours. Good, finally beaver revenge. It turns out the beavers had eaten hemlock a poison. Yes. They were probably like they're going to kill us. Eat the hemlock. Man, these beavers were easy to kill. Yes, they were probably like, they're gonna kill us. Eat the hemlock. And then, then, then, then, then, then, then, man, these beavers were easy to kill.
Starting point is 01:11:48 Oh, some of those beaver ain't sitting right. Oh boy. Oh, it's like there's a dam and mastumic. But none of them died and they recovered. After they recovered. After they recovered, they went out and killed 13 elk. It's like, why didn't you do that in the first fucking place? That'd be for good. And then they killed two buffaloes.
Starting point is 01:12:14 So they're, they're, they're, they're, oh, it's doing okay again. What a great combat. Yeah, yeah. They finally make it back to the fort and then just a few weeks later, Ogden heads out again. This expedition went through the Klamath River area.
Starting point is 01:12:29 Beautiful. Oregon and Northern California, there were some inner party issues. The Nez Pierce man hit his wife with the butt of his rifle, and he thought he'd killed her. So he ran into the forest and shot himself but that turned out she was still alive. Oh my God, Romeo and Juliet are right there, right?
Starting point is 01:12:52 That is romance. Crazy 15 minutes there. Jesus Christ. I could name the area murder encampment. The fact that he's like, this was really a lot of murder. Dude, are you kidding? Wow, I've never seen anything so violent. Homer Simpson into the book. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:13:23 An era qua woman said she accidentally shot her husband, a relative confirmed it, then he quote, immediately took her as wife. Well, she's grieving, we're fucking, listen, let's be honest. The wife of a guy'd hung herself, and then also their traps were being stolen by tons of indigenous people, and after 10 months, a hundred nady were gone.
Starting point is 01:13:51 But the dead beavers up to 2000 at this point. So they finally reached Northwestern Oregon on July 29th, and the horses were taken by natives at a crazy rate. On October 5th, a band set the grass around the camp on fire, is that a problem? But luckily, his willows stopped it from killing everyone. Like if the willows hadn't have been there,
Starting point is 01:14:15 would it kill them all? Okay. Some horse thieves were chased, which led to a fight and several wounded trappers. Desertions became a big problem. Americans raised pay again and soon, he only had seven trappers. And those seven refused to take orders from Ogden.
Starting point is 01:14:34 Is that a problem? I feel like he lost those trappers, too. It's like, well, you're the only seven left. So let's do this right, fuck you. OK. All righty. He feels like you've defected a little bit. Well, okay.
Starting point is 01:14:47 So the word of the mutiny spreads through the company and goes all over the headquarters in London. And they're freaked out that there's mutinies happening. It's a bad scene. So in 1827, Ogden once again set out in Snake River Country. And the party goes through Idaho, in Oregon, in California California and then all the way down to the shore of the Gulf of California. Okay. Where at that point they were attacked
Starting point is 01:15:11 by Mojave and they turned back. Okay. So over the years the Russians, the Hudson Bay Company, Canadians Americans, it all been like jockeying for a position, right? And alliances were made, and Ogden would play a big part in that. He would do negotiations, and he'd build forts, and the Russians end up siding with the Americans. And what a time. And so the gunships are facing off, and ships are blocked from going up rivers and then as it all comes to a conclusion, Peter, because of doing all this negotiating, he has promoted
Starting point is 01:15:55 to chief factor, which is of the Hudson Bay's Columbia Department, which is the highest, he's now at the highest field rank in the company. Okay. Top dog. What? The one time murder and bully boy was now top dog. But soon after there was an incident on a river and nine men died and 500 and 1st were lost. And the company transferred. They were mad about the 1st being lost. Yes, they do, they're like're like yeah, whatever there's many dudes So they transformed to Fort St James on Lake Stewart
Starting point is 01:16:29 So he's there for nine years. He's now being described as quote a distinguished man who was witty and a lively Conversationalist we love the reinvention. Yeah so much. Yeah. Oh sure a once murderer much. Oh sure, a once murderer. Lying polygamist. But now, boy, hey, talk about a one-liner, sit next to this guy at a party. He's amazing. The story. Oh my lord, his stories always end in the murder. But what a ride. He holds high office, he's hosting and entertaining distinguished visitors. So I said to him, why don't we just break his head open and we didn't. More horse? So he holds, like he said, he's, even Americans are coming to see him. Americans are like, everyone wants to visit him and talk to him.
Starting point is 01:17:26 We're so dumb. It just doesn't matter. Yeah. In 1844, he goes to London as a distinguished guest. He advised the company and the government unclaims in Oregon, and then he comes back. The British are considering going to war, so they had two soldiers accompany him
Starting point is 01:17:46 just to keep him safe. He called them, quote, two disagreeable companions, dandies, carrying toothbrushes, and top hats. I love that it's so unique to be like these Englishmen at Duke brushes. Wild. I didn't know you knew about that. We've found out, huh? We've been figured out. So while he didn't like them, one of the soldiers called Peter, quote, a fat, jolly good fellow. So he's supposed to go back to the West Coast and purchase a large piece of land, but then a treaty is made which set the Canadian-American border at the 49th parallel, which kills the British plants. OK. And now indigenous tribes are expecting a higher ethical code.
Starting point is 01:18:37 Oh, man. Oopsy daisy. Well, during trade, as they're technically under American protection. Sure. Organ Territory has created a bit of Congress in August 1848 and so Ogden finds himself living in America. Ah, finally. He has no interest in becoming American though and he just stayed there as a British guest at Fort Vancouver. He ages, now all he does is he sits around writing like whimsical letters to the VanCouver Curling Club. To the VanCouver Curling Club? Yeah, what would you do?
Starting point is 01:19:12 The letters, he should have let it go a little lighter. The guy who was sweeping, he's swept. Come on. He wrote poems for Spectator Magazine. Boy, watching that must have been awesome. While you were in Boston. That's it. He was a sought-after advisor for American settlers. In 1854 he was chronically ill and he moved to Oregon City and died there on September 27th 1854. Hopefully someone's skinned him and then got sick off eating him. So that's how you're that's how I do it. So why the city is named after him? Because he was a guy who rolled through and killed the much of fucking animals. And we just, we don't care. We don't care. We don't care.
Starting point is 01:20:08 We don't care. But how many cities would you say when you're like, why is it named after that person? And you're like, oh, you look terrible. You look terrible. So more criminal. Yeah, I don't think we give a shit. But, you know, he also was, by the time he died, he was like this reformed, lovable, jolly guy. Yeah, but that's the thing.
Starting point is 01:20:28 It's like, you know, we, that's our love of redemptive tales. It's just, I mean, I talked about George W. Bush last night, but it's like, we're like, come on, he's an old man now. It's like, what the fuck him? Like, it's like Henry Kissinger, we're like, well, what do you want? He's a sack of skin that blinks. It's like, stop talking to him. At minimum. At minimum. And instead people are like, oh, come on, you can't be mad at him. Oh, look at him. He made
Starting point is 01:20:58 a mistake. Like people like, like McConnell, when he was like, all people like, stop, stop, stop. Come on now. Don't be mad at him. At a human moment. Love the man. And it was like, all people like, stop, stop, come on now. Don't be scared. He had a human moment, love the man, and it's like, I wish his chin popped. You can't ask Diane Feinstein to resign, that's rude. Just because she can't move Bl blink or nose what she's saying Be nice to this criminal Oh my god, you know her daughter got power of attorney today. Yeah sitting senator
Starting point is 01:21:36 No longer controls herself legally. It's fine. By the way. I think that's basically the idea behind the senator Actually, you know what though she might be a better senator that way it would be I mean you should just tell her to resign she's be like my mother resigns but that's what I mean it's like we just don't like nobody cares nobody cares it's like if so what if you get fucking old that you should be punished for shit you should be punished for getting old yeah and you should have cities named after you that's right you shouldn't be like no you let's just stop it you should be punished for shit. You should be punished for getting old. Yeah, and you should have cities named after you. That's right. You shouldn't be like, you shouldn't be like, you shouldn't be like, you shouldn't be
