Hey everyone, it's Dan McCoy and...
Elliot.
Katelyn.
Why are we saying our names like we're the movie phone guy?
Well I'm so excited Elliot.
I'm saying them weird because I'm so excited because we're dropping into the feed to talk
about our first show in the UK.
The United Kingdom is what that stands for.
That's a little fact for you.
Our audience is already learning. They've learned two things. United Kingdom is what that stands for. That's a little fact for you.
Our audience is already learning. They've learned two things.
We're doing a show in the UK, two shows actually in one night, and also that UK stands for United Kingdom. Now Dan, what are the constituent countries that make up the United Kingdom?
Well, let's see. There's
England and Scotland.
The one will be the end. Yeah.
Is Northern Ireland still part of the UK? There's England and Scotland. The one with the end. Yep.
Is Northern Ireland still part of the UK?
Sure.
Uh-huh.
And what's Wales situation?
And Wales is also part of the UK.
Dan, 10 out of 10 as they would say in the UK.
We're going to England, Dan.
We're doing two shows in England.
That I'll be bringing to these two shows.
As you can see, Dan has researched heavily. Dan, what city in England are we going to
be appearing in?
We're going to Oxford. Oxford, England will be appearing as part of the St. Audio Podcast
Festival, the first year of the St. Audio podcast festival. We all remember praying to Saint Audio,
the patron saint of podcasts.
And assorted audio and sound effects. The Saint Audio also covers Foley Art.
I think that's actually how he was murdered, was well providing Foley O in ancient Rome.
More facts,
that you can't test them. There's no way to unprove that fact that Ellie just said.
Hey, let's give them some more useful facts like when the show's going to be and what's
going on.
Okay.
The show is happening on May 24th.
Friday.
May 24th.
Here in the US, that would be 524.
Across the pond, I believe it's 24 or 5.
But anyway, we're gonna be appearing.
Hopefully the audience will be able to hack through this dense hedge of unnecessary information to get to the important details.
At Oxford Town Hall, as part of, again, the St. Audio Podcast Festival, there is an early show and there's a late show. One at 7pm and one at 9pm.
What are we talking about? Two classics that totally represent
England top to bottom. Just the twin gems of British cinema.
The Avengers from 1998, which is of course actually a Hollywood movie, but it is based on
the beloved 60s British spy program, television program that had Diana Rigg as Immapile and
She's not in the movie though.
Patrick Steeves.
Not in the movie.
Oh yes, Uma Thurman and Ray Fiennes are in this one.
That's the Avengers we're talking about, not the Marvel one.
And for the late show, another equally beloved British icon will be talking about the Spice
Girls in their film, Spice World.
It's a Spice World.
We're just living in it.
There's human over there.
Yeah, it's a Spice, Spice, Spice, Spice World.
That's for sure.
That's 7pm on May 24th. We're's 7 p.m. on May 24th.
We're talking the Avengers.
9 p.m. on May 24th.
We're talking Spice World.
Two separate shows.
You'll need separate tickets for those shows,
but for anyone who's been to a live Flophouse show,
you know the shows are different
because we're making it up as we go along for the most part.
But this is the UK.
You haven't seen a live Flophouse show possibly
because we've never done one over there. So we're very excited about it. We're doing our
PowerPoint presentations. We're talking about the movies. Maybe we'll take questions from
the audience. I hope so because we'll get to hear more accents that way as opposed to
the American accents we're used to hearing like mine right now.
Yeah. This is the very first time we're leaving the continent of North America as a podcast and it is coming to you in Oxford
And if you're interested the easiest way to get tickets is to go to
Plophouse podcast comm
Slash events and if you look there there's a listing for the Oxford shows and there's a link to the various
Whether you want an early or a late ticket,
both of those links are in that one listing.
So that's over at flophousepodcast.com slash events.
And I just got this voicemail in from Stuart
who's currently jetting his way to Australia
so he couldn't be with us,
but let's hear what he had to say about this.
Hey guys, it's me Stuart from the Flophouse podcast.
He said that we're doing a show out in the UK so I'm about to head to the airport and fly out to Australia to do a little bit of groundwork right?
Because that's part of the UK. Wait, wait I think I need to get a map.
Okay, I'll see you guys there in May.
Bye!
Oh boy, oh man.
Oh, come on, Stu.
Well, at least he knows not to put his jacket
on a seemingly dead kangaroo.
Yeah, he has learned at least that lesson.
So for more lessons and facts,
because that's what we primarily do on the Flop Outs remember to go to flophousepodcast.com slash events for those live shows.
And I just want to say we're so excited about doing this.
We've wanted to do a show in the UK for a long time now, and we're very excited to get this
opportunity thanks to the fine people at the St. Audio podcast festival.
And we want to bring our best to you. So English fans, Scottish fans, Welsh fans, Irish fans, anyone nearby, Spanish fans, French
fans, this is your chance.
Come see us.
It's going to be super exciting, and we can't wait to be there.
Thank you ahead of time for coming.
Thank you for listening, and thank you for being you.
Bye. Thank you for listening and thank you for being you.
