Starting point is 00:00:00 Your teen requested a ride, but this time not from you. It's through their Uber Teen account. It's an Uber account that allows your teen to request a ride under your supervision with live trip tracking and highly rated drivers. Add your teen to your Uber account today. You are listening to the Glass Cannon Network, the premier source for role-playing game entertainment. Last week on the Glass Cannon Podcast. Onward through the lovely jungle. Which way to the vernacular?
Starting point is 00:00:38 You know where it is. Yes, I've been there before. Onward, then. Are you feeling better? I'm feeling much better, thank you all. Let's get closer to this damn thing. Keep trudging ahead in the lovely jungle in search of this gondola that you saw
Starting point is 00:00:52 from the cliff side nearby where you entered through the Ayodhara. Let's hunker down for a bit and see what their routine is. It seems like a gondola arrives every 30 minutes, stops there while they're loading it, and then it continues. We wanna get onto the gondola arrives every 30 minutes, stops there while they're loading it, and then it continues. You want to get onto the gondola thing. Does it look like you can maybe jump into one?
Starting point is 00:01:12 I say let's try the jump. I want to try the jump. Platform takes off again. As soon as it starts moving, Barnes goes. Zephyr backs up, run jumps, does it with ease. I stumble, I like trip right at the edge, like the soft ground gives away, but I make it in. You begin.
Starting point is 00:01:28 Taking the gauntlet! About an hour or so into the journey and all of you hear a sound pierce the air. And suddenly two large flying creatures make one beak strike at one of you Including Hubert including you. Yeah d6 6 6 It then attempts to pluck yeah Hubert off of the John natural 20 grabs Hubert and throws him off the The adventure continues...
Starting point is 00:02:10 now. I'm a Hey welcome back to the good time pal show featuring the good time pal singers. Oh I don't know that seems like a fun name. I like a little low beef. Ah, beef. Ah, beef. Ah, beef. Cheese, cheese, cheese. Cheese. I like a little low beef. Little low beef? A little base beef. I need a little more low beef.
Starting point is 00:03:11 Let's get that low beef foundation. Yeah, we'll start it there. Can I get more cheese in my cans? Most of you people already know this, but if you don't hang out with Joe, with the frequency that we do, you've got this thing you do where whatever song people are singing out loud, or if we're in a restaurant and a song is playing, you will just start singing along.
Starting point is 00:03:36 It replaces the lyrics. You replace the lyrics with three things, beef, cheese, or Steve. It's like exclusively those three things. The words rhyme with 90% of the words that are in the sauce. And any song that has the word me in it anywhere, you can easily replace with Cheese or Steve, and it'll crack you up. I feel like in different eras of my life,
Starting point is 00:03:55 one word has been funnier to me than others. I feel like right now I'm in a Steve era. You're in a Steve era, yeah. I love a good Steve. I've been there. I know the Steve era. Cheese really gets me, because it comes out of nowhere. Like, we do it a lot, but especially if, like, we're traveling and stuff, like in the airport,
Starting point is 00:04:08 you know, we'll be sitting in silence, and then Joe will just go like, cheese. Cheese. Cheese. It's very strange. Skid was just playing Kate. It's like a tic. It's like having a tic.
Starting point is 00:04:19 Like, I can't control it. You were playing Kate Bush right before the show here, obviously. Yeah, let me get it going. You can't control it. You were playing Kate Bush right before the show here, obviously. Yeah. Let me get it going. It's just playing in the background and Joe just starts... Melting all that cheese. Eating all that beef.
Starting point is 00:04:38 The thing is you've poisoned my brain so much that like, why do I know that song? You've poisoned my brain so much that you did that, and I saw nothing odd about it. I was like, yes, beef and cheese. Eating all that beef. Add a John in there. Just throw a John in there. Sprinkle a little John. It's gotten to the point where it's
Starting point is 00:04:55 carried over into my personal life at home, where my children see it coming. We were listening to Toy Story the other day, and I was like, you got a friend in Steve and Archer just died laughing. Archer and Steve are two. He gets it. He gets it.
Starting point is 00:05:13 What does the beef and cheese thing? Is it just because Philly is the beef capital of the world? Well, you know, beef and cheese, beef and cheese, I think goes back to my friend Giussani. You guys know Giussani. Oh, yeah. He was a high school friend. I believe he was, I think, the first person to start saying stuff like that. And I can't remember if Steve was looped in with that, too.
Starting point is 00:05:28 But this is something that's been ingrained in my brain since high school. And yeah, I think it just really stuck. And I do it all the time. It drives my wife insane. Insane, especially in those exact circumstances, where it's like a Disney song or like a musical she's showing to the kids that's like a famous musical. And I am just like singing in the
Starting point is 00:05:51 car while I'm driving and just will like change the one word cheese. And she's like, now they will only hear that as cheese the rest of their life. These are formative times you can't like replace a word. Weird tick. It's really a verbal tick. That's what it is. I have no control over it. Yeah, because it will happen. Like you were saying, there doesn't have to be a song.
Starting point is 00:06:11 Yeah. He'll be replacing the lyrics in his head because none of us are hearing. Yeah, and you talk about what you do with beef and cheese. Like I said, running up that beef, and you're like, no, melting all that cheese. No, just eating all that beef. And eating all that beef. You do a classic, the one you do classically, because you're like, no, melting all that cheese. Eating all that beef. And eating all that beef.
Starting point is 00:06:25 You do a classic, the one you do classically, because you love to like beatbox too. And you're actually quite good at it. He is a good beatboxer. Little known fact. He's a beef boxer. He's a beef boxer. He's a bit of a beef boxer. Beef boxer.
Starting point is 00:06:37 But you do one all the time that is like a tick, like in silence where we'll be sitting there and you'll go, beef and cheese and beef and cheese. Oh my God, you do it all the time. I don't remember that particular one cheese. Oh my god, you do it all the time. I don't remember that particular one. It's a sickness. You do it all the time. It's a sickness because you don't know it's a sickness. That's right.
Starting point is 00:06:51 That's why it's thick. You don't know. That proves that it's a sickness, yeah. You have a problem, and that's why we're all here today. But luckily, it's a problem we can all laugh at. At. At. At.
Starting point is 00:07:03 Of the problems you can have, it's fairly tame. That's true. I mean, most of the time I see you guys laughing. Yeah, no, it's, it's, it always gets me cause I'll be doing something else and you're just in your own little world singing whatever we hear and throwing in beef, cheese and Steve. I always thought it was a Philly thing cause of beef and cheese, cheese steaks that you were just grew up eating. That's what I thought too. I can't remember my, my, so my, so he used to say beef whenever he burped. So, like when he burped, you're like, you do that.
Starting point is 00:07:38 I do. And it's disgusting. It's disgusting. I hate to burp. I hate to burp. So, he would burp and he would say beef. But he was also so, he's just such a smart guy. He was so literal. It was so funny. So he'd burp, and people would look at him weird, and he would look right at them and go, when I burp,
Starting point is 00:07:52 I say beef. He would be like, man. So that became a thing, too. You'd just be like, when I burp, I say beef. And so now the kids do it, and it drives my wife insane. So it'll be like, beef. He's like, stop doing that. And he's like, when I burp, I say beef.
Starting point is 00:08:11 It is truly disgusting. Cause like burping is weird, but like, you know, you burp and then you move on. But then saying beef just turns into something truly revolting. Yeah, I try to not do it in mixed company. This is just, you know, like at a fantasy football draft. You'll hear it a lot.
Starting point is 00:08:27 Yeah, a lot of beefs. Are you coming to our fantasy draft this year at Mahagan Sun? I'm trying to. I'm trying to. I have kids, Troy. I can't go to a casino in the middle of the week. No, it's on a Sunday, probably. In the summer.
Starting point is 00:08:39 Yeah, a little summer Sunday. Summer belongs to children. You can't do anything in the summer but what kids want to do these days. These days, these kids these days, they love having fun in the summer. No, I just meant these days when you have kids. Before summers used to be like, Oh man, let's go on vacation. Let's go on a trip somewhere cool. Because you were a kid and they never had to do what you want to do. Well, are you a kid when you're in your 20s? Kind of. I would say yes. I guess so. Kid in heart. Sydney currently in her 20s would say that.
Starting point is 00:09:07 No, I'm not. Kid in heart. No, Sydney just graduated. Yeah. Congratulations. Thank you. A real adult. Thank you so much. I'm going to do my taxes, finally.
Starting point is 00:09:18 Now that I'm 30. Dating back to 08? I mean, because you owe the government a shit ton of money and they're going to throw you in prison? That can't be right. I was just a baby. Just a baby. Babies don't do tax.
Starting point is 00:09:29 I can pay you in blocks. I can pay you in blocks. I don't have any money. It is summer now. Well, it's not officially summer. It's June 13th right now if you're watching this. It feels like summer. Memorial Day has already passed.
Starting point is 00:09:44 That's the unofficial start of summer, but the official start of summer this year is June 13th right now if you're watching this. It feels like summer. Memorial Day has already passed. That's the unofficial start of summer, but the official start of summer this year is June 20th. And we are, that is a week from today where we'll be arriving in Denver for a show. That's the official start of the worst season of the year. Oh, come on. As we've established. Objectively.
Starting point is 00:10:00 Objectively and subjectively the worst. I just wanna admire the professionalism there. You took something Sydney said, you yes-anded it, turned it into self-promo. It was really good. For the retreat. Very smooth. And then embedded it all on a complaint. Yes. Yes.
Starting point is 00:10:15 Summer. And then left it off. That's the Long Valley special. Right, left it off on a real negative note. Right. Yeah. I don't think I was gonna get positive. I was gonna just talk about how bad summer is.
Starting point is 00:10:26 But no, I was going to get positive because I love a beach. I love a beach. We've got to love a beach. And that's because then you know, like, we're here to sweat. We're here to get sand in our crevices. Yeah, but I don't like that either. You have the water. Then you get in the water.
Starting point is 00:10:39 I say I like the beach. You can pee in it. You can do whatever you want. Poop in it. Like old Beef and Cheese does. Just slides the bathing suit out of the way. Drops a log in the ocean. But I love a beach. And I love when everyone knows this is what we're doing.
Starting point is 00:10:58 We're beaching. You're getting beach mode. I hate the summer. So I feel like the only way to conquer it is to live on a beach for two and a half months. Or to go to a beach in January. To fly to a beach. Because you're not in summer.
Starting point is 00:11:13 I like the winter. You get a brief and it's only beach for a couple days. Do you guys know the New York City hack? Do you guys ever do the New York City beach hack? You take the ferry from Brooklyn, if you live in Brooklyn or from South Street, Seaport, whatever, you take the ferry to the Rockaways, take the Rockaway ferry, and it turns into a party boat because everybody is going to the beach in the summer. You can drink beers on the ferry. So everybody is drinking beers, playing music, and you don't even have to go to the beach. You could take that ferry, take a nice little trip, and just turn around and come back. You
Starting point is 00:11:43 don't even have to deal with the beach. But you get the beach vibe. Yeah. You know, I lived in New York for six, seven years before I knew you could get to a beach. You lived on an island before you realized there was a beach? Well, I just, I didn't realize that Long Beach was right there. And I was working at Caroline's on Broadway and the guy who was the publicist there, who was the publicist right until they closed down, great guy, always was at the bar after his shift just drinking and then Irish exiting. But he was like, here's the package. You get on the train out to Long Beach, you go to this restaurant, you get this bagel,
Starting point is 00:12:18 you get the glass of wine before you take the train back and you go to the beach all day. I'm like, what? There's a beach? The public beach? I just hadn't dawned on me because I was like, I don't have time to go to the beach. I can't even afford a sandwich. But once I started doing it, I'm like, holy shit,
Starting point is 00:12:30 this is fantastic, beaching it up at Long Beach. So that was my jam during the summer back before I had kids, just driving out to Long Beach for the day, sitting in the traffic on the way back, but it was awesome. You can rent a surfboard down on the Rockaways. You can just like, it's a real beach. You can really beach it up. You can really beach up.
Starting point is 00:12:46 It is a little bit like Nazi Germany though. They don't let you drink anything. You really got to sneak. But at that time- Is that what it was like? Yes. Is that what was going on? They didn't let you drink?
Starting point is 00:12:55 You wouldn't know this. Yes, you could not drink on a beach. I think they begin it at a beer hall putch. Nazi Germany. But yeah, they're very weird about open container loss. So what you had to do is the, remember Firefly vodka? It was the iced tea vodka. It had its time.
Starting point is 00:13:12 It was awesome. And you mix that with half Snapple peach iced tea, half lemon iced tea with the Firefly. Just tastes like iced tea. And so you get big fucking containers of it. Sorry, just drinking iced tea all day. That's a great idea. In the sun.
Starting point is 00:13:31 In the sun. In the sun. Cooking. Getting wasted. Dude, High Noon has a new iced tea jaunts. Flavored iced tea. Love a good iced tea jaunt. I think we know the drink of the summer.
Starting point is 00:13:42 Yep. Nooners. Nooners. Over summer. Yep, Nooners. Nooners, overpriced Nooners. I know you're very worried about the price of high noon. Because I'm like, that looks great. Low Cal. Every time we talk about high noon, it always brings up the price. This is the perspective of a poor person.
Starting point is 00:14:01 You're like, I would like to drink something that is lower calorie, delicious, not too high in alcohol, refreshing, but isn't gonna get me wasted. So make his fucked up thing. But then it's like $26 for eight of them. Get the hell out of here. Imagine trying to. Get a case of cordyceps for that.
Starting point is 00:14:17 I was seeing Springsteen at MetLife last summer, went up to the bar, they had nooners, I was like, I'll have what? Oh no, it was $15 for a single can. I mean, they- Was it a double size can or a little thin? I didn't get that far, either way. The point is it's not priced because it's quality product
Starting point is 00:14:33 with quality ingredients. It is priced like that because they have distinguished themselves as like, this is rich people seltzer and rich people love it. That's all they buy. They're like, this is for rich people. Clearly you can see by the price tag. And I'm gonna feel rich. They make one with tequila now too. That's actually they buy. They're like, this is for rich people. Clearly you can see by the price tag. And I'm going to feel rich.
Starting point is 00:14:45 They make one with tequila now too. That's actually my favorite. Tequila one? I know what we're doing right after this app. Right after this app. In fact, the show's over. We might come back after the price tag. We'll see. It's Father's Day this weekend, Nesh, and I gotta be honest, I'm excited. I am really looking forward to it because I'm ahead of the game this year.
Starting point is 00:15:09 I already got my dad, one of those Henson Razors that I have been telling you guys about on the GCP. I seriously, I bought him the AL-13 and I'm really looking forward to his review. I want to see what he thinks about this thing. It is a single blade razor, old school style, but designed and manufactured with such precision that the blade only extends out from the base the width of a human hair. So when I shave with it, what it basically feels like is just the smooth metal from the razor base, from above and below the blade. That's all that I feel. from the razor base, from above and below the blade. That's all that I feel, and yet when I come away from it,
Starting point is 00:15:47 it is completely shaven, super close, it's so smooth, and I never get any nicks and cuts. I know now that they're able to achieve this level of engineering because Hanson Shaving is a family-owned aerospace parts manufacturer that has made parts for the International Space Station and the Mars Rover. But knowing my dad, he won't care about any of that cool space stuff that I'm into.
Starting point is 00:16:10 He'll care about how close the shave is, whether or not he's dealing with cuts and scrapes, and obviously, most importantly, how much is this going to cost me in blade refills? Well, not only do I know for a fact that the shaving experience will be excellent, I also happen to know that after I give him this gift, he will not spend a dime on blades for at least two years. And that's what the GCP discount. And even after that, it'll cost them like $5 a year for blades and the razor itself, it lasts a lifetime.
Starting point is 00:16:40 It is a solid metal piece of amazing engineering. If any of you have spent the last couple of years paying for multi-blade cartridges like I have, you might think that this is all like a fantasy, but trust me, it is 100% true. I've been using them all year and I can see now how it will cost me no more than $5 a year for blades. If anything, that's on the high end of what it'll cost. Anyway, visit hensonshaving.com slash GCP to pick the razor that's right for you. I got my dad the AL-13.
Starting point is 00:17:10 Use code GCP and you'll get two years worth of blades for free with your razor. Just make sure to add them into your cart. That's 100 blades when you head to h-e-n-s-o-n-s-h-a-v-i-n-g dot com slash g-c-p and use code g-c-p. We're back! We just had a ton of nooners. It's going to be a spicy app. Now we're going to do this app. It's going to be weird.
Starting point is 00:17:40 Matthew has had 16 ounces of tequila. Those natural flavors are getting to me. I start mainlining them. No, but we are going to, I'm probably gonna grab some nooners after this. Now I can't, I've got it in my head. I can't stop thinking about the nooners. Especially the ice tea ones.
Starting point is 00:17:58 Last week, you made it to the quarry. You see these creatures, just as the omicus said. You realize, you know what, maybe we don't have to the quarry. You see these creatures just as the omicus said. You realize, you know what, maybe we don't have to deal with them. Maybe we can just make a run for it and jump when this platform comes in. And so you do and you make it and you skip the encounter. You got to love skipping an encounter. Makes you feel like you can do anything. Very rare.
Starting point is 00:18:23 Very rare to skip an encounter makes you feel like you can do anything. Very rare. Very rare to skip an encounter. It's almost like skipping mentioning our sponsors. Foundry VTT, Norse Foundry, and Demi Plane. Demi Plane Zoni. Like those new lower thirds we've been dropping in. Shout out to CJ. CJ. CJ. CJ.
Starting point is 00:18:41 CJ. Make sure you buy all their products and tell them that you came from us. They'll appreciate that. For real though, what are you doing if you're not doing that? Supporting those that support us. These Norse Foundry dice are pretty nice. Beautiful, yep. I brought in two different sets because the ones I've had here are not rolling pretty well.
Starting point is 00:19:02 You're going to taint some new dice. Oh, you've retired them briefly? No, I haven't retired them. I'm giving them a break. You've caged them. You've jailed them. No. I'm letting them go have some nooners and think about their time here.
Starting point is 00:19:13 He doesn't believe in corporal punishment for his dice. You're starving them. You're not giving them food or water until they start responding the way they behave. They can go out and order whatever they want. Joe, what do you do to your dice? I wonder they roll like shit. We think about dice differently.
Starting point is 00:19:27 Sorry. Weird guy, Joe. Well, if you want to get results, I'm not going to get one. Joe got all of his dice handling. I'm not going to get into my torture politics. Joe has the deer hunter technique. That's it. Well, yeah, so you got on the platform, you're going into this what looks like some sort
Starting point is 00:19:47 of civilization, this pyramids, you're on these like crackling purple electricity wires. You thought that they were like gondola wires, but it's just like purple light that you're sliding along. There was like a one foot lip around this platform, sort of Chekhov's lip, you know that you're going to get tossed off and sure enough. As soon as you mentioned it, I was like, oh my god. I did not think this was bound for a creature encounter. I thought it was going to be transport. And then you mentioned the height of the wall around the outside. And I was like, we are all going to die. The second you mentioned it. See, I thought it was going to be,
Starting point is 00:20:26 I thought there was going to be trouble with the rails, the non-rope. I thought it was going to be a power thing, like whatever they're powered by. They would shut it down if they knew people were on it. I thought we would have just a nice little break. So did I. I thought it was like, you encounter these golems,
Starting point is 00:20:42 then you get on the thing, break, get to the other side. I thought it was a cut scene, and you end up loading screen. We end up at the next location. You can take a breather after a big boss fight. Maybe even a nice little cinematic flashback. Oh. Sure. Oh, you know what else I thought?
Starting point is 00:20:57 Level up. Oh, thought I'd level up. That would be a good place for us. I thought long rest and level up. You thought eight hours on this rail I thought it's gonna take a really long time. Okay long rest. Maybe a cutscene. Maybe a level up No, and a flashback dinosaur fight. No I said before we started recording. I was like Troy was mad. We didn't fight the golems. So he made up flying dinosaurs
Starting point is 00:21:21 Terradons come flying But that's what happened and we rolled randomly to see who the first one would attack. Because one of them rolled the highest initiative, which wasn't even that high. It was a 23. Next up is 21 for Brother Ramious. So I say 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. And before I could even put Hubert in there, you guys,
Starting point is 00:21:41 I'm going to get Hubert. I'm like, all right, fine. Hubert's six. Roll a six. This thing comes down, swoops, bites Hubert in there, you guys. I'm like, I'm fine. Hubert six, roll a six. This thing comes down, swoops, bites Hubert. And then as a free action uses something that I rolled an athletics check against Hubert's four to two DC. I succeed and fling Hubert. You rolled a natural 20. I rolled a nat 20. Huge. That's right. I forgot that. Forgot that part. I knew I succeeded. It was a nat 20 flings you bird off this thing.
Starting point is 00:22:10 And you guys from cheering to feeling bad. Well, cheers to tears. Cheers to tears. There's the name of the app. There's the name of the app. Let's start today by going back someplace. Going back again. Let's start. So you back someplace. Going back again?
Starting point is 00:22:25 Let's start. So you were right. There's a flashback on the left. That's what Matthew thought. Well, you know what? You've inspired me to come up with something here. Let's close in on a dark forest somewhere, OK? And there's trees everywhere making all these strange shadows
Starting point is 00:22:42 on the ground. Can't tell if it's day or night, but whatever light is up in the sky is casting all these strange shadows on the ground. And we see all these trees, black gnarled wood, devoid of color. We close in on one such tree, there's a little tiny hole in it. one such tree. There's a little tiny hole in it. Oh no.
Starting point is 00:23:06 God damn it. We just see a little furry head. I am so angry right now. Looks around. It's Hubert Hedge. He grabs his hat, puts it on. He crawls out of the hole. and you can tell he's struggling a little bit and when he comes out you realize he's emaciated. He looks nothing like the Hubert
Starting point is 00:23:33 you met. He's emaciated, very thin and weak and he's like, oh, oh, he bones. Oh He looks over to the side and there's a small rock There and he says oh Good morning, Susan How are you today? What's that? Hungry Yeah, me too.
Starting point is 00:24:05 Hungry again. I gave you everything I found the other day. Gave you half of it. Thought we could share it. You and me. Getting hard out here. It's a thing we have each other. You and me.
Starting point is 00:24:24 We're thick and thin. Hungry, yes. Very, very hungry. Well... Feel a little tired. Didn't sleep much, but maybe I could go out and... Forage some more. See if I'm able to find something for us to share
Starting point is 00:24:47 Yeah What's that? Yeah, would be easier if we were dead Yeah Wouldn't have to worry about where our food was coming from Yeah, no, we wouldn't feel so alone, sure. Wouldn't have to wake up every day thinking about how alone we were, you and me. Yeah. Well, I suppose I could
Starting point is 00:25:28 Head out see if I find some berries Maybe a jackrabbit we could split I'll be back. Don't you go anywhere Susan? See what I can find out there. And Hubert gets up and walks bravely into the brush. We cut back to. This is watching Kate's face during that, she's decidedly unmoved. Oh, he has feelings of death. Wow.
Starting point is 00:26:11 Cut back to the platform. We are frozen in time. Everyone frozen in celebration. It's like it's got that those high tech cameras that can move around the scene as we see this Pterodon frozen. Like, fucking Zack Snyder, what is that movie? 300. Yeah, he probably did in 300, but the other one.
Starting point is 00:26:36 The Watchmen. Oh, yeah. Come gather around people. Owls, the legend of, what's the legend of Lagul? What's the movie with the owls? The owls? Does Zack Snyder direct an owl movie? Yes.
Starting point is 00:26:49 Guardians of, like CJ chimed in Guardians of G'Hool. I haven't seen that one, but I imagine he used the same technique. This is what we're seeing. It's like the opening thing where they show all the watchmen, like it's spinning around and we just see this fucking pterodon.
Starting point is 00:27:00 Pterodon! Biting into Hubert's skin, and then we go back into regular time and it just is flung over the edge. Okay, Buggles is horrified. Buggles desperately wants to save Humbert. Mm-hmm. Humbert.
Starting point is 00:27:20 Humbert. Huey. Huey? Hubert. Is there anything we can do? Well, as a matter of fact, no. Hubert. Hubert. Huey. Huey? Hubert. Is there anything we can do? Well, as a matter of fact, no. However, you can watch as Hubert gets down about 20 feet,
Starting point is 00:27:35 and this is hundreds of feet to the forest floor, to the canopy of trees below, the carpet I should say of trees. And after about 20 feet, he's surrounded by this purple glowing light, and he reverses direction and is yanked up very quickly and thrown back on the platform. Oh!
Starting point is 00:28:03 I wonder if this is to keep the ore up there if it ever falls. Yeah, if it gets jostled. Maybe it's a little windy and a rock falls off. Yeah. Boom, he lands there. He takes 10 points of bludgeoning damage from the sort of speed in which gravity was reversed
Starting point is 00:28:18 and thrown back on there, and he is sickened too. I bet. Oh, man, that sounds nauseating. So it's not certain death if he gets slung off. It's definite victory now. Let's see, you guys did. We got this. You guys did heal him, right?
Starting point is 00:28:35 Were you guys healed to full before you got on? Yeah, it was hours and hours and hours before we went. All right, so I will give him 10 hit points off. So he only has so many hit points, but then again, so do all of you. The dinosaur with its final action because it was two actions to swoop bite, free action to fling with its final action it flies 10 feet away from the platform. This will all be done in theater of the mind you are on this platform both of these things
Starting point is 00:29:03 are 10 feet away from you flying in the air is brother Ramias's turn Oh brother Ramias is going to try to react quickly here, I'll do a knowledge check Recall knowledge perhaps nature Yeah, what is your nature eight plus eight? Okay? What is your niche? 8 plus 8. Okay.
Starting point is 00:29:24 Yes. In fact, I purposely use the term pterodon. These are pterodons. They are a specific type of pterodon known as a cliff hunter pterodon. They are very primitive flying creatures. These seem to be larger than what they would normally appear as. If anything you've read about, these seem to be larger than anything you've read about. So perhaps the environment has caused...
Starting point is 00:29:53 How much larger? Like a little bit larger or like twice the size? Or like... Yeah, at least twice the size larger. They're usually not this big. And to give you an idea of the mechanically, they are large creatures. So they take up a large space they normally would be medium creatures medium creatures okay so they're very large like a 20 foot wingspan and in terms of what I can
Starting point is 00:30:14 tell you that would be important to you I'm just gonna give it to you it is a free action for them to do this pluck ability which is an athletics check against your fortitude to deceive and if they succeed, they can just fucking fling you anywhere they want. That's wild that that's a free action. It's like two actions for free. Yeah. It's wild.
Starting point is 00:30:35 But something... It's sort of like, I mean, it's a spiritual cousin of the flyby attack from first edition. Yeah. Yeah, it absolutely is. There was another feat that was like incorporated repositioning where you could like fling or something like that. But it would be part of a flyby attack that I can't remember. But yeah, effectively that's what's happening is here. It can do that free pluck. Now, the athletics against the 42 DC There are different levels of what can happen based on success failure critical failure gotcha Okay, I've given you I've given you everything you need to know here. That's your first section. All right, that's my first action
Starting point is 00:31:16 Boy, this is terrifying. All right, brother Amos is just going to reach out and fire a bolt of divine energy toward this creature to try to damage its spirit! Twenty? Yep. Nice! Beautiful, dude! Are you attacking the one that just attacked Hubert or the other one?
Starting point is 00:31:34 Yes, the one that just sort of kept going on that fly by. Maybe the other one's cool. Yeah, we don't want to attack the other one. Hey, hey, Steve! What are you doing? Alright, that is five points of spirit damage. Five points of spirit damage. And that is his turn, that's Brother Remus's turn. Oh! My spirit!
Starting point is 00:31:57 It is Hubert's turn. Hubert is just going to cower between a couple of you. He's petrified, he's shaking, and he will roll to see if he can lessen his Sickened condition, which is a DC 16 to recover from his Sickened two. And he made it with a 18, natty 18. So he now goes down to Sickened one.
Starting point is 00:32:20 And then it is Zephyr's turn. All right, so the one that flung Huber is 10 feet away from us. Where is the other one? Also 10 feet, just off a different edge, yeah. And they're both within your volley range. Yeah, and there's no way to like move on the cart so that they're a little closer to like hit him with my fists. They hit him with your fists?
Starting point is 00:32:41 No, they are. They've purposely moved away. Is there any way to move so that she's 30 feet from one of them? Yes, you can make yourself, like if you back up against an edge, you can be 30 feet away. All right, so I'll do that.
Starting point is 00:32:55 Do we think- Right up against the edge? Right up against the edge. I mean, wherever I gotta be. But he was like, yeah, go right up against the edge. Perfect. You know what? Maybe I will go live against the edge. Perfect. You know what? Maybe I will go live on the edge.
Starting point is 00:33:07 Hell yeah. Yeah. I'm living on the edge. It sounds to me it doesn't matter. You're in the dead middle. You still get to just get flung off. Also, okay, we get flung off and then we pop back on. I'm the best person to be on the edge, I feel like.
Starting point is 00:33:20 So. Every toss is 10 hit points of damage. I'm going. I got so distracted by all the songs. What am I doing? We think she had her long bow out on this thing Yeah Longbow is the only I love taking you know The poll the audience. Yeah, did she have a long bow out? What do you think always? Yes?
Starting point is 00:33:43 So she moves back. She had a long bow out. What do you think always? Yes? So she moves back. She long bow in her sleep gets into sleeps with a drawn Everybody knows don't startle Zephyr away Get an arrow in the gullet. I want to get into monastic archer stance, and then I want to do flurry of blows Oh, yeah, it's gonna be at negative two for each of those. Because of the volley. Wait, no, that was the whole point, right? Oh, cause I'm not in the volley.
Starting point is 00:34:12 Nevermind, nevermind. Delete, delete, delete. I'm tired. Delete. You're right at the edge there because this platform's with him. I'm on the edge. Are you attacking the same one
Starting point is 00:34:22 that Joe and Hubert attacked? Yeah, if they're both now outside of my volley, I want to focus on the one that attacked us. That's natural. 18 to hit, or no, 19 to hit. Hit. Yay! I love hitting! See if the second one hits. Yeah, let's do the hits first, and then we'll do stunning fists and then damage.
Starting point is 00:34:44 Damage and then damage. Damage and Stunning Fist. Okay. The second one's gonna be a 15. That's a miss. Okay, so damage. That damage, and then I'll roll a save of some sort. Three points of damage.
Starting point is 00:34:59 Three points of damage. And then Stunning Fist is going to be a fortitude save against my class DC That's gonna be a fail. I think with a 13 Your stunned one, I mean that's huge Fly away, I also think it falls out of the sky. Well, that's what I'm wondering Well, let's see read stunned and not think about what the word stunned made. Let's read the condition. All right, let's.
Starting point is 00:35:26 I think you just. I guarantee you the stunned condition. If you stunned, what does it say? You become stunned, so you can't act. You can't act. Oh. Stunned usually includes a value. Good question.
Starting point is 00:35:35 How many? Am I acting right now? Yeah, you look just like a pterodon. Is this acting? So, it's going to get two actions on its turn for the next turn basically. That's what stunned is. It can't do this.
Starting point is 00:35:49 Well, it begins to fall. It can't do that. On its turn, it immediately recovers. It can't do that for one of its actions. It has to maintain flying for one of its actions. You become senseless, you can't act. On that one action. On that one action.
Starting point is 00:36:04 Yeah. No, but on the whole turn before it's its turn, it stops everything. It is stunned. It can't do anything. Because you regain the action. Right. So you would drop a certain amount. I'll look into it and see.
Starting point is 00:36:18 It's one of these things where we're trying to think about the literal word stunned and the actual ramifications. No, I'm thinking about it. You cannot take actions. Right, but flying isn't an action unless he's moving, do you know what I mean? And hover, well actually the hover action. Yeah, like were you taking that before each turn?
Starting point is 00:36:36 Is it a feat to hover without? Hover is only if you don't move, hover, yeah. Well, we gotta look into this. Make sure you- You stunned him just as he was waking up Yeah, fly is a move action It says um says on reddit maneuver in flight a flying creature will begin to fall if it's like knocked prone There are specific things in in the rules that will apply to flying creatures So I don't think he falls it's it yeah Yeah, if you want to you have to move and then...
Starting point is 00:37:05 Yeah, we'll figure it out in combat. Become senseless, can't act. Awesome. That, you know, that's... Do you have to have any sense at all to maintain flight? Is senseless a Pathfinder term? Yeah, no, it's lowercase s. It's a lowercase s. Okay, yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:45 You can't act is one of those things that they probably wish they could take back, because all it does is remove an action from you. Now you can't, you can't take a reaction. Sure, you can't take reactions, but they should have said that. Do you know what I mean? So if you will just know they're saying that you can't do anything. So anything that comes under doing anything you can't do. Let's think about it, so he only has two actions. He could fly back, bite, free action, throw, but would have to remain in melee which could be the ultimate. Right, right, right. Or he falls and then he has to recover by flying up to us for an action and he only has one action to try to bite. Yeah. That's way better. For us. Yeah, but it is that weird like frozen in time thing, right? Where it's all happening simultaneously. I mean, I think the way I'm resolving in my head is going to be very beneficial for you and that's really the spirit of this.
Starting point is 00:38:16 I have a question just to make your life worse. Please. About the flying. My life is too good, right? Please take me down a peg. Yeah, you need to sit on a smaller, shorter horse. I'm in beach trod mood. Yeah, you are.
Starting point is 00:38:28 You look like you're sipping a high noon over there. Can you see that? Ah! That's what the gym screen is for, hide my nooners. The cart, the mechanism, is moving this entire time. Yes, yes. So the birds would also need to be moving to stay with the cart, correct?
Starting point is 00:38:45 Yes, but everything is happening in six seconds. The speed at which it moves in six seconds is negligible in terms of this fight. This goes on 20 rounds, we'll have a different... The fly speed of a pterodon, I would imagine. It counteracts the movement of the pterodon. I feel like we need to compare it to like paralyzed and... Before people just start getting crazy about it, I just wanted to clarify that. That it's like, yes, you know, and yes, like it doesn't really matter for the six seconds, so yeah, I know it's it's it's a fair
Starting point is 00:39:09 It's a fair question. I don't want us to get too caught in the weeds here Yeah, you stun them reading it's going to be beneficial to you guys as we as we not get caught in the weeds Joe I'm reading giant the playground which you know Reference for a lot of things obviously not, and these are different people talking about different stuff, but it says, when you want to knock a flying creature out of the air, anything that causes stunned, restrained, paralyzed, or petrified works to knock a flying creature out of the air, including a monk's stunning strike.
Starting point is 00:39:36 Wait, says who? Just like the community, and then nobody refutes that, you know, that those conditions all mean you knock a flying creature out of the air. By debate rules, if it goes unrefuted, it's true. It's true. Anyway, do whatever you want. Wait till it gets to its turn.
Starting point is 00:39:55 By Talmudic consensus, we have reached the results. Also, I think you'll be fine with the way I resolve it, because you've got to think, like, stun, it's not like in that six seconds, aah, it goes into the results. Also, I think you'll be fine with the way I resolve it because you're gonna think like stun to fall it's not like in that six seconds. Ah! Goes into the tree. No, I said it's gonna fall. It's just gonna go and it's gonna have to use an action. Yeah, it's gonna lose some altitude. Yeah. Yeah. And the other thing that I was thinking and this is meta and it's important to think about, Kate never gets a fail on Stunning Fist. Ever. That's so true. Ever. That's so true. And so making it juicy is just fun. It's gonna be juicy. How'd you worry?
Starting point is 00:40:27 It's never gonna be as juicy as you want. You want it to like permanently kill the character. I want it to fall into the other one with its beak, pierces it through its neck, they both fall to the ground. Yeah, it'll be good. It's gonna be helpful to you, especially where these things can get this free pluck. Monastic Archer. That was three. I'm all done. I'll die. It is the amicus Barnes turn. Okay Barnes is going to first action exploit vulnerability
Starting point is 00:40:56 Exploit that shit. This is gonna be an esoteric lore check against the standard DC for the creature at its level So you want to roll for me? Yes, what is your lore bone? Plus eight. Okay, success. Succeed. Succeed. Success.
Starting point is 00:41:11 I said you succeeded and success. I said success. With its surcease success. Succease success. Succease success. Okay, so I learn the highest weakness if it has weaknesses. None. Okay, then I will exploit its personal antithesis.
Starting point is 00:41:26 No. Well, at the time. But obviously it's out of my range right now, so instead, Barnes is gonna spend two actions to ready. And the trigger's gonna be that either of the pterodons comes within striking range of my kukri, I will strike. Boom sauce. Nice.
Starting point is 00:41:39 Awesome. I don't know. It's so hard, I just wanna spell strike. I can't. You just, some encounters't know. I it's so hard. I just want to spell strike I Can't you just some encounters? I know stacked just against you most Preparing ocean encounters have been so but it'll never come back I guess you need the more capable of the most like damage in one hit So that's the limitation is like there's sometimes when you just can't you need perfect circumstances Yeah, this is a fucking great idea. Get Qbert over the edge.
Starting point is 00:42:06 Delay. Yeah, no, but- Especially with this stun one, it could get caught in melee and not be able to fly away. It's a good chance. I can gamble it, I can gamble it. And I know- And you can go. Somebody asked me, they're like, are you enjoying playing Omega's?
Starting point is 00:42:18 Because sometimes it doesn't feel like it. And I'm like, no, I am. The character, the class is so dope and it's so much fun, but a lot of these combats are not made for me to be like, and I do three attacks in a row and it's crazy damage. It's not like consistent damage, yeah. People rarely get that stuff off. Yeah. It's, the action economy, while it feels like you could do a lot more, it's also like, you
Starting point is 00:42:38 feel like, gah, I'm one action away from having my sweet turn the way I want it. Yeah. Like, they're so OP, they're really not, only in extremely specific circumstances. I can do spells, I have the distance, they're not that far away, but I think just because of what just happened, I will delay to see if it comes within melee. So I'm standing with my Katana at the ready, and she's just like grinding her heal into the deck of this box and getting ready, just waiting for her moment. And I will delay.
Starting point is 00:43:04 I love it. Because ultimately, like you said it it's a gamble but not really because if it doesn't stay within melee then you're in the same place you were anyway fire a spell go and fire off a spell yeah great it's flying John twos turn and it comes how far did it fall swooping in the omicus you can take your action okay this is the this is with the concrete counts as the first one got stunned for the purposes of magic stuff Natural for Poor Barnes, which you will
Starting point is 00:43:36 Hope I was I was describing this character to somebody recently and they're like that sounds awesome I'm like, yeah, eventually I hit a point where I have to roll a die Yeah, it just it changes the shape of the character. You start brother start brother. Amy starts looking over. It's like this person ever skilled Because of their time alone in the jungle, he's so new to like we're all waiting we're all expecting Yeah, like this is all we know of this person. Yeah, like what we've seen so far. So the survivor man. It's just the worst It's the worst introduce a new so far. The Survivor Man. It's just the worst. It's the worst. Introduce a new character. It's a bear scene.
Starting point is 00:44:07 Miss, miss, miss, miss, miss. How can you have any other first impressions? Maybe he just needs a gentle flight. Here comes a beak strike on Theomacus Barnes. Natural three, 13 to hit. Hell yeah. Misses. All right, so it swoops attacks, final action.
Starting point is 00:44:21 It flies another 20 feet away, we'll say. And then it is Buggles turn Yes, okay ready to delay it bugle which which one is the one that's been hit more The one that's the stun that's starting like It's starting to drift with the wind yeah Oh, I'm actually to go after the other one done okay because if the other one comes back in she's gonna be able to get A melee strike on it so true. I am going that's the one The one that's like this is the one she will probably get a man. Yeah, yeah
Starting point is 00:44:51 Yeah, the one that's been started the one that's more hurt. That's why I'm gonna go after the other one Oh, I got you you want to do the one that she's not gonna hit right? alright, so I'm gonna do a An ignition pop a little fire Fucking natural one I'm gonna do an ignition. Pop, I'm gonna do a little fire. Pfft. Fucking natural one. Oh my god. Ah! Natural one.
Starting point is 00:45:11 No, it can't be, not now, not here, not in this place. Maybe it'll be something not that bad. Oh, for magic? Definitely. Like everybody's so chill about that. Oh god. You accidentally light an orphanage on fire. Please don't tell me it's like, sorry, Skid. Like, everybody is so chill about that. Oh god. You accidentally light an orphanage on fire.
Starting point is 00:45:26 Please don't tell me it's like, sorry, Skid. Those ones are the worst. Sorry, Skid, on May 30th, 2024. What? The hell is a day now? Oh god. Okay, this one from Ryan in Bangor, Maine. I've always loved Bangor.
Starting point is 00:45:43 What up, Bangor? Bangor, I barely know her. Hey! That's down as a banger. Is it Bangor? It in Bangor, Maine. I've always loved Bangor. What up, Bangor? Bangor, I barely know her. Hey! That town is a banger. Isn't it Bangor? It's Bangor. Yeah, but I like saying banger. I'm going there soon.
Starting point is 00:45:52 If you have any suggestions, hit me up. You're going to Bangor? I'm going to Bangor, well, I don't even know her. Buy her dinner first. I don't even know her. I didn't do it. I don't even know her. We just met.
Starting point is 00:46:01 Get her a Captain and die. Ah. All right, this one is called It's leviosa Leviosa Ha I don't know for some reason two of your spells have very similar Incantations and in the heat of the battle you accidentally triggered the wrong one The attack was made with a spell cast from your spell is randomly choose another spell of the same level from your spells
Starting point is 00:46:24 Available to cast you actually cast that another spell of the same level from your spells available to cast. You actually cast that spell instead of the same one for the target you originally chose, even if that target would normally be an invalid target for the spell. If you have no other available spells, blah, blah, blah, blah, then you harmlessly cast Prestidigitation instead.
Starting point is 00:46:37 So yeah, you still get it. I love this. This isn't that bad. Well, I guess it's just a miss. But yeah, so the way this would be bad is if you cast like a fourth level spell and you lost another spell slot. Because if it's Frostbite instead, then it's not a miss. But yeah, so the way this would be bad is if you cast like a fourth level spell and you lost another spell slot. Because if it's frostbite instead, then it's not a two hit roll.
Starting point is 00:46:49 It's... Oh, that is interesting. So, okay. So you go to cast... Ignition. Ignition and you cast frostbite instead. And so it needs to roll a... I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:47:00 To be technical, it is a randomly choose another spell. I don't know if you have others in this way that you can do at this level. Well, that's a tricky guy do have other Well, they know that these are cantrips. So it would have to either be Yeah, like what other can't you have other cantrips? I I do have a couple other ones Yeah, maybe maybe roll a guy roller or something. Yeah, this reminds me There's like I just say whatever you rolled was frostbite But your cantrips in a list so just say I'll roll a roll a d5. I have three can't I have four total cantrips So I'll roll a d3. I'm curious if it's something else what it would be. Yeah So it was actually bullhorn
Starting point is 00:47:42 So it was actually bullhorn. Bullhorn. Ah! Ah! What does that do? What does that do? It's just, it makes my voice really loud. Oh! That's amazing.
Starting point is 00:47:52 So it's an invalid target and nothing happens. No, it's just like, I say the incantation and it's just like super loud. It's just like, you're on fire! Fire, fire, fire, fire, fire. Reverberating out, echoing. I love that. Thank you, Ryan. Fire One that's like a Wizards and like you can't read the wizard spell book or something so like the spells all have like slight misspellings that mean All their spells it's really fun. That's like a classic thing. That's so fun. That's cool. That's fun
Starting point is 00:48:21 I'm gonna try. Oh, no, I can't do that. I'm just gonna do, I'm gonna raise shield. Spoon. Nice. All right. Come on! Go to the top of round two unless Asta wants to come in here. You're waiting. Waiting. You're waiting.
Starting point is 00:48:34 All right, the sick one, the one stunned. It's not sick, it's just stunned. It's like starts falling out of the sky. It uses an action to, it's still gonna swoop, but basically without that third action, now it's going to stay in melee range for all of you guys, which will provide Austin. Yeah, but it could still fling. Yeah, it could still fling. Let's determine at random who it goes after. If it's you and you get flushed, that would be the worst.
Starting point is 00:48:58 And it is Austin. Oh my god! But you have to roll something! They're still rolling, there's still a chance. Yeah, what's my check? You're the best one to have this happen. Well hold on, first it's gotta hit you. It might not hit you.
Starting point is 00:49:11 I mean that's amazing. That is so frustrating. I'm so sorry. It's so easy to do a D6 around the table. I was like, it's not a gamble, you can't lose! This is exactly the one way. I'm never listening to you again. And it missed with the beak attack.
Starting point is 00:49:24 Awesome! 14. Alright, yeah. Awesome, awesome. 14. All right, so it swoops up. That's a two action drawing where it flies. The compliment of it's flying and gets the attack. It would get the free action if I had succeeded on the beak. I don't get that. I'm killing it.
Starting point is 00:49:37 Without a third action, I can't fly away. Do it. My turn. Your turn. Okay. Get it. I am going to do my spell strike. Okay.
Starting point is 00:49:46 And I'm going to cast, da da da da da, I'm gonna cast Slashing, er, Phase Bolt. I'll do Phase Bolt alongside it. Well, Phase Bolt, okay. Has no weaknesses. Has no weaknesses, okay. Except classical music. Just up and down, rolling then, here we go.
Starting point is 00:50:01 Katana. Always been as quick. Two-handed. Not two, not three. No, just not good. 14. Do you lose the spell? Yes.
Starting point is 00:50:15 Dice jail. It's a cantrip, it doesn't matter. Straight to jail. Put it in dice jail. This is from Bill and Carol in Maple Ridge, British Columbia. Thank you guys, I put it in dice jail. Dun, dun, dun.
Starting point is 00:50:25 What about Ted and Alice? They didn't have any input? All right, so that's a two action, John. I am going to then just use my fox fire and get one little hit off with my fox fire tail. Electricity, I'm just gonna- That would provoke if they have A OS for the record. I know and they don't attack you. Okay. All right So this is with the map. Oh Thought it was almost in that one
Starting point is 00:50:55 That's gonna be that's not 15 that's not gonna hit 15 is not am it to hit cool fire 15 is not going to hit. Cool. Foxfire! Well. Foxfire! Jigget and Steve! That's my turn.
Starting point is 00:51:07 I am a man I will! Brother Ramious. Brother Ramious will... Did you ready in action? I used it. Oh, you did? Yeah. I missed.
Starting point is 00:51:15 Oh. You used it? I didn't see anything happen. But nothing happened. I don't understand. I whiffed. A whiffed! A creature's no longer stunned.
Starting point is 00:51:23 Brother Ramious targeting the one that is right next to Asta, is going to do a divine burst. Ah! Ah! Get out of here! Ooh, that is a hit with a 22. Boom. And he will do four points of spirit damage. Ooh.
Starting point is 00:51:40 Just burning its spirit. Its will to fight. Will to live. If it wanted to fly away I understand. Right you wouldn't begrudge it. I'm gonna go back to its nest leave us alone. Then I'm going to use an action to take cover. Okay. Like among the rocks and shit like that to increase my AC bonus. Rocks? Yeah like all the shit that's piled oh wait there were no rocks anyway the isn't there something to take cover on? Like aren't there poles that are like connected to the purple jaws? No, there's like no lip to the cart either.
Starting point is 00:52:11 Hide behind Asta. Right? I can't hide behind Asta. I just thought that there was stuff on here. There are thick cables at each corner that connect to the central suspension point 15 feet above And just that one foot lip, but the rocks are not high enough to provide cover. Okay. Shit. All right, then in that case, I'm going to...
Starting point is 00:52:34 Ooh. I'm gonna aid Barnes. Barnes aid? In his attempt to hopefully hit this thing that's next to Asta. Barnes aid. Barnes aid. Barnes aid. Did you next to Asta. Barns aid. Barns aid. Barns aid. Did you go to Barns aid? Yeah, William Nelson was amazing at the cast.
Starting point is 00:52:50 He sang the national anthem. Uh. It's Hubert Edge's turn. Oh, I thought I was a goner there. It's good to be back here on the platform with all my friends. It's good to have you back. Thank God, I was so afraid. Humbert Hubert.
Starting point is 00:53:06 Humbert Hubert. Zephyr, one is within, like right on top of you, and then one is still far enough away. So the one that wasn't able to move away, I don't need to move up to it? Correct. Okay, cool. So one action, dismiss monastic archer stance. Action two, key strike.
Starting point is 00:53:28 All right. So you see her hand wrap start to glow as she gets ready to punch this dragon dino in the face. What's up, key party. And maybe give it a kick. So she's gonna make a flurry of blows and I get a plus one to these on top of my regular, my regular stuff, come on, come on, come on.
Starting point is 00:53:47 That's so funny. That's a 15 on the first one. Don't do that. Don't do that shit. The air coming out of the balloon. That fucking shit. That key went down the drain. That was a miss too.
Starting point is 00:54:00 Damn. So she just like misses somehow this large creature right in front of her. What's got scales and parts? You might have hit it, but it's just too, you don't do any damage to it. Thick leathery skin. That uses a focus point.
Starting point is 00:54:15 Cool, so that was two actions. And I guess my third action, I'll take just like a step back from it. Just in case. Just to pull away. You could reenter Menesic Archer stance if you wanted to be like ready for next time, just in case. Just to pull away. You could re-enter Maneska Archer stance if you wanted to be ready for next time, just in case. I could, but I'm not. Yeah, I'm gonna step back.
Starting point is 00:54:32 All right, so you just step back, creating some distance so that maybe you won't be a target of this creature. Yeah. I'll keep that in mind when it's its turn. But meanwhile, it's the Omicus Barnes turn. Oh my. Am I in melee with the creature?
Starting point is 00:54:44 You are. All right, Barnes will, poom, activate the mirror. I mean, by my understanding of this, oh, okay, go ahead. I was gonna say by my understanding of this, you're already flanking the creature with Ost. Am I already flanking the creature with Ost?
Starting point is 00:54:55 Can you flank if he's kinda not on the platform? Is that where he is? He's above you, yeah. Oh, gotcha, gotcha. I mean, but within hitting distance of two feet. If we're both threatening, we can draw a line. As long as you're both threatening on either side, I guess you could say that you're flanked, sure.
Starting point is 00:55:08 Okay, great. Then Barnes will not activate the mirror. Well, then was I flanked? Still a bit of a mess. Oh, whatever. Still a bit of a mess, that's a good point. And you are gonna aid me? Yes, I was gonna aid, so I will aid with Perception to point out this weak spot.
Starting point is 00:55:22 And what's the weak spot? What do you say to it? Under the wing! It's got a spot with no leather armor! Natural 19! There we go! It's balls! That's a 27.
Starting point is 00:55:32 It's balls! Hit it in the balls! Is that a critical success? What's the total? 27? 27? Well now the new DC is 15. If I keep it at that, that would be a critical success.
Starting point is 00:55:43 Critical. And I will You've seen the you know these natural 20 Now we get to see what he can do Alright, and now I'll go with the kukri you have weakness three. It's amazing. I'll just add the three to my... Okay, yeah, the weakness doesn't double, right? No. Okay. Oh, does it, does it though? What?
Starting point is 00:56:08 The creature has weakness three because my exploit... No, the weakness doesn't double, but you've got to pull a crit. Oh, right. Oh my God, what are we doing? What are we doing? What are we doing? Are we doing a melee attack?
Starting point is 00:56:19 Yeah. Melee attack from Zach W. in Raleigh, North Carolina. Zach. What's up, Zach? Focusing strike. In a single perfect moment, everything becomes clear to you. Reduce any negative conditions affecting you by one degree or one round as appropriate,
Starting point is 00:56:34 removing them if they moved you to zero. Double damage. All right, I'll take the double damage. So unfortunately this didn't work out great for you, but that's a cool one. Yeah, that is cool. Everything becomes clear to you. You get rid of any distractions. But yeah, so double damage. Okay, including the weakness. Thank you, but that's a cool one. Yeah, that is cool. Everything becomes clear to you. You get rid of any distractions.
Starting point is 00:56:45 But yeah, so double damage. Okay, including the weakness. Thank you, Zach. 24 points of damage. Oh, wow, Bart! 24 points of damage and it falls from the sky. Yes! Yes!
Starting point is 00:56:56 We'll say its carcass hit the whole platform and then just kind of rolls. Oh my gosh. And balance it off the force field and returns to the platform. Ten more! Ten more! Ten more! and then just kind of rolls. Yes. And bounces off the force field, and returns to the platform. And just keep falling. Ah! Ten more, ten more, ten more. This is really unnecessary. That's probably what happens.
Starting point is 00:57:11 It turns to goo, eventually. Until it's just pants. Slicing. Ugh. We're just like getting hit with like intestines, blood. Yeah, that's what happens. And it will come. Okay, that was action one.
Starting point is 00:57:21 Okay. Wow. Action two. Throw the long sword at the other one No, I'm going to attempt to demoralize the other you're gonna jump and mount it. You sound like me unwilling mount Wait, I'm mounting the dead And then fly to the pyramid your long sword held high And then fly to the pyramid, your longsword held high. It's a mine country!
Starting point is 00:57:45 No, I will attempt to demoralize the remaining pterodon to kind of get it to shoot away. Alright, give it hell. Do you have Intimidating Glare? Do I have Intimidating? No, so I'm going to have to say something. No, you can't, because unless they speak your language. Yeah, right? You just gotta take a minus four.
Starting point is 00:58:02 Because that's what I was about to do, but I don't have it. You can do it, but it's a minus four. A minus four? I believe so, if the creature does not understand your language minus four if you're not Yeah, the target doesn't understand the language you're speaking or you're not speaking a language you take a minus four penalty Speak French Dude, you just rolled a natural 20 you do it again. Yeah, just do it again. I just saw this sick You do it again. Yeah, just do it again. Why not? Oh, I just saw this sick natural seven thing here No, that's not good But um sick ability this thing that I never saw before this must have been in the new update of foundry
Starting point is 00:58:33 You I can click on the monster and if I go over to notes, there's a clickable box that says remaster question mark Wait are we gonna do a mid-com remaster, John? I mean, this doesn't have any, I don't think any changes, but that's pretty fucking great. It doesn't have magic missile? It doesn't have no force barrage. Awesome.
Starting point is 00:58:56 Is that your turn? Third action. A lot of actions. Three, in fact. A lot of actions. Barnes will utter a minor incantation and you saw a small trail of a tattoo on his arm. It will glow and then boom,
Starting point is 00:59:13 a shield will pop up in front of him. Oh, cool. What's the tattoo say, party in the back? Yes, that's what it's called. Arrow pointed to your butthole. It's a stupid. Back to picture of a shield. Shield tattoo.
Starting point is 00:59:27 That is not as interesting. Certainly not. Well, you haven't seen my tramp stamp. I was about to say. I was about to say. It could be other tattoos. You bend over and what do we see? As your shirt comes up.
Starting point is 00:59:38 A little cyber-sidualism tramp stamp. Yeah. A barcode? Well, all the kids are getting these days. Cyber-sidualism? Yeah, cyber-sidualism, tramp stamps. Is it like the new Tribal? Yeah, it's like high tech, like cyber-punk-y.
Starting point is 00:59:51 Like a barcode? It's a QR code? Tribal has come back in a big way. Like design, free form, kind of Tribal-esque, but it's called cyber-sidualism, and it kind of has like cyber-punk-y tech vibes. We are teaching you guys so much. I didn't know Tribal was out.
Starting point is 01:00:06 I've been in since the 90s. No, no. Joe just got a wrap around one in his thigh. Tribal was a big, big out. Tribal was big out, but now it's big in. But specifically, cyber-sigilism tramp stamps are in. Ooh. Guys.
Starting point is 01:00:18 So what do you got back there? You thinking what I'm thinking? Matching Tribal's... You know what? You want a role-play of Love Scene with me? Go find out. Ooh. I bet you it's the Harley Davidson look. Oh, don't tempt him! That's what it is. I think it's a dolphin. A dolphin? A cyber-sigil-dolphin.
Starting point is 01:00:35 A cyber-sigil-dolphin. Two dolphins leaping up across the sunrise. Yeah. There's so much we don't know about Barnes. I'm going to think about these tattoos during this next break. Ha ha ha! Let's be honest. I'm getting older. We're all getting older. In some ways, that's a very good thing. And I enjoy how I've become more seasoned,
Starting point is 01:01:06 like a nice cast iron skillet. But in other ways, I feel like, you know, after a night of drinks, I don't bounce back the next day like I used to. So it comes down to a choice. I can either have a great night out or a great next day. Until now, because now I have Z-Biotics. Z-Biotics pre-alcohol probiotic drink is the world's first genetically engineered probiotic.
Starting point is 01:01:32 It was invented by PhD scientists to tackle rough mornings after drinking. Here's how it works. When you drink, alcohol gets converted into a toxic byproduct in the gut. It's this byproduct, not dehydration, that's to blame for your rough next day. Z-biotics produces an enzyme to break this byproduct down. Just remember to make Z-biotics your first drink of the night, drink responsibly, and you'll feel your best tomorrow. Yeah, so I'll admit I was skeptical about this. I was not an initial adopter. Is that the actual term? I don't know. I didn't gravitate towards it initially.
Starting point is 01:02:06 But then, you know, I gave it a try and I was shocked at the results and I tried it again and I was even more shocked. And now I keep some stock to my house in case I'm gonna go out and have a little fun. And I gave them a stocking stuffer to my family this year. Vacations, weddings, birthdays, reunions, there's so much going on. Get the most
Starting point is 01:02:25 out of your spring plans by stocking up on pre-alcohol now. Go to zbiotics.com slash gcp to get 15% off your first order when you use GCP at checkout. Zbiotics is backed with a 100% money back guarantee so if you're unsatisfied for any reason, they'll refund your money no questions asked. Remember to head to zbiotics.com slash GCP and use the code GCP at checkout for 15% off. Thank you Zbiotics for sponsoring this episode and our good times. We're back! I have so many gross things that I could say that I won't. So we'll move on to the other Flying John, the one remaining creature. Ah, ah!
Starting point is 01:03:07 This other one, I'm gonna say, canon-wise, is being thrown off and thrown back on and just being pummeled to bits. So by the time this fight is over, you will be covered in the gore and viscera. That's really gonna hurt our degree. I don't think it would be doing that because it didn't originate on the platform.
Starting point is 01:03:24 That is true. Is that how the magic works? I don't know, it's magic. I'm pretty sure that's how it would be doing that because it didn't originate on the platform. That is true. Is that how the magic works? I don't know, it's magic. I'm pretty sure that's how it would work. I would say that if the magic would be pretty shitty, if it didn't work, that when it lands back on it, it just stays back on. Any leaf, any bird. A bird flies on the platform. Unless we kick it off. Every time it puts a stone back on, it just falls back on. I kind of like the idea, though it's so big, that's why all of you can attack it without moving, that it just keeps falling off limply. If it's that big, it can't be fully on. By the end, it's just like a wing
Starting point is 01:03:49 that's being slapped up with bones hanging from it. It's like glitching. Yeah, it's so gross. One, two, three, four, five, poor little Hubertus six. Buggles. No, not the boy. Could you feel it coming, Skitt?
Starting point is 01:04:02 I saw your face. I could feel it coming. Not the boy. You were very loud, and it heard you. It did. did here comes the beak I've been rolling shit with the beak. Let's see That's a critical that's a 29 well, yeah, that's critical. All right critical hit Let's let's just deal with the damage here to start with it is going to be I need a d10 damage here to start with it is going to be I need a D10 20 points of piercing damage. All right. So this is actually going to get pretty nasty.
Starting point is 01:04:31 So it swoops in does the attack 20 points of piercing and then free action. It's going to throw you if this succeeds, it'll be another 10 points of damage. Obviously that doesn't crit. So this is for athletics against your fortitude DC. So fortitude plus 10 And I rolled a 10. Oh That's a fail. That's a fail. All right, so it's a regular fair failure The pterodon fails to move the target creature you roll an adjusted 10 an adjusted 10. Yeah
Starting point is 01:05:01 I'm guessing the bonus on this is not particularly. Remember I rolled a 20. It's two hit is plus 10 It's athletics. I know but I'm thinking it's athletics gonna be similar So it's like it he had to roll a natural remember I rolled in at 20 on Hubert I just rolled a well I don't say what I rolled but I really feel like it's like a one or two All right, so it does not that's awesome. Yeah, that's that's cuz you get your turn now Yes, because otherwise you'd be on catch. That's almost certain.
Starting point is 01:05:26 One, two, it's going to final action, fly away, create some distance and now it is Boggles turn. Okay. So Boggles, he gets attacked and nearly dropped by this thing, creates this, ah! And he like clutches at his, at the wound, it's like bends his head down, when he lifts it back up, his eyes are on fire.
Starting point is 01:05:50 Oh, you know they are. Oh no, no! Subtitles, it's like, I will pull you from the sky, not! Ha ha ha ha! He is gonna do a, so how far away is it? 30 feet. Then he's going to do, as so how far away is it? 30 feet. Then he's going to do, he's going to do a Frostbite. Frostbite.
Starting point is 01:06:11 So please give me a Fortitude sign. Nat 20. Damn it. Glad that wasn't on the flame. Yeah. Okay. Shit, I on the flame. Ugh. Okay, and I... Shit, I raised the sword. Okay, boom, shield comes back up.
Starting point is 01:06:31 And now it goes to round three, and it's Asta's turn now that one of them has died. This one has not been hit yet. Okay, it's still 10 feet away, or what's it? 30 feet away. It's 30 feet away now, okay. Can hold again, or delay ready rather no because because it has all actions It's gonna be coming in and coming back out. I don't think that makes sense. I'm gonna have to just cast a spell
Starting point is 01:06:55 I'm going to cast face bolt. Okay, so that is a two hit. So let me Quick question your spell strike you still can't use it right so she cast a spell Let me... Buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh-buh- recharge spell strike through the use of your... You know, let's look. Yeah. This is how we learn. This is how we learn. Frequency, oh no, sorry, it's through my focus spell or I spend an action recharging. Okay, so you just have to at least spend an action. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:07:35 Okay, great. Alright, so... A conflux spell, is that what I mean? A conflux spell, thank you. So it has to be a conflux spell or you can spend an action. A focus spell doesn't recharge your spells. Got it. Oh, wait, a focus spell doesn't recharge your spells? Only a conflux spell or you can spend it on... A focus spell doesn't recharge your spells. Got it. Oh, wait. A focus spell doesn't recharge your spells?
Starting point is 01:07:47 Only a conflux spell. That's what it is. Wait. But your conflux spells, I think, use focus points. I felt like it. Yeah, it does. That's why it's confusing. You also... you can do it with a single action, which has the concentrate trait. You also recharge your spell strike when you cast a conflux spell
Starting point is 01:08:02 that takes at least one action to cast. Casting a focus spell of another type doesn't recharge your spells. Right, so it is a Focus spell, it's just not a specific type. It's a Conflux spell. It's a Conflux. Or, and that's because Conflux spells are single actions. So it's either that or you take a single action to recharge it. Alright, so I am going to cast Phase Bolt.
Starting point is 01:08:20 Okay. Here we go. Hit. That's gonna be 17. Swim us. Sw we go. The hit. That's gonna be 17. Swim it. Swim it. I thought that was a hit. Oh.
Starting point is 01:08:30 All right, so then for my third action. This isn't Dungeons and Dragons. I'm just gonna, I'm gonna recharge. I'll recharge my Spellstrike. She's in 5E with your actual friends. Right. Yeah. I'm recharging my Spellstrike.
Starting point is 01:08:44 You just say you're not friends with Sydney? Yeah. She pays us. She with your actual friends. Right. Yeah. I'm recharging my spell strike. You just say you're not friends with Sydney? Yeah. She said that to us. You said that to her. You said that to me. Oh, that's right. And everybody heard it.
Starting point is 01:08:51 I got a Twitch. I got a Twitch in my left eye. Are you OK? Is this how the founder of Twitch created Twitch? That's how you come up with a name? He's like, I have an idea. What should I call it? I'll call it Small Penis.
Starting point is 01:09:03 That's my turn. No. Twitch. Twitch. Yeah. my turn. No, witch. Witch, yeah. Another thing that has to do. Brother Ramius. Brother Ramu, this is... Another four points of damage up your sleeve?
Starting point is 01:09:16 I mean, you mock, but like, man. It's hard for us to deal massive damage without big builds like the Thaumaturge. Look at the big build on Barnes. Big build on Barnes. Ooh, big build Barnes. Big build Barnes. Big build Barnes.
Starting point is 01:09:31 He kind of likes that. That's what they called me in high school. Big build Barnes. I like the sound of that. Yeah, I think I'm going to take a round off here from fighting, and I'm going to move to Bugles seeing how in pain he is. He's going to rush up to Bugles seeing how in pain he is. He's going to rush up to Bugles, he'll be like, Bugles! And he reaches into his robes and he pulls out some,
Starting point is 01:09:49 you know, like cloth wrapping to just sort of like staunch the bleeding. So he's gonna do battle medicine on Bugles and try to get you some HP back. Okay. Little batmed. Little batmed, oh, critical success. Oh, nice.
Starting point is 01:10:03 He's huge, 90, 19.. Oh, nice. Huge 90-19. Batman! Batman! Batman! That is freaking awesome. OK, so that is going to be 15 points of healing. Nice. OK.
Starting point is 01:10:16 And actually, when you do that, oh, right, I forgot. It's the pool of cards. He snaps at your arm as you touch him. Don't you snap at me! He yells back at you in this frenzy. His eyes are wide, he's sweaty, he's got blood from the other creature all over his face, and he looks kind of as mad as you do in a way.
Starting point is 01:10:37 Don't you snap at me! I'm trying to help him! Okay, and yeah, you just hear this low growl that doesn't sound like it could come from his body It's just like just gurgling up from his throat. Is the bullhorn still in effect? Yeah, I think actually it's so funny Yeah, for the next minute. It just yeah Yeah, ten minutes so Everything you say is unnaturally projected. Yeah, and we don't understand it right right
Starting point is 01:11:03 He's took an action life. Yeah, he's took an action left and so he will use it to he will use it to eight barns once oh no he'll use it to aid Zephyr as the creature flew away and he'll comment on the power of the wind the woods were's moving right to left. Sounds like a perception. Aim right. Alright, great. It's Hubert Hedge's turn and Hubert's like, oh, brother bugles, you alright? I had saved this. I didn't want to waste it, but I've got some snail jerky. I think this will give you
Starting point is 01:11:41 a little extra strength. And he moves to you and holds out some little green colored jerky. What does the Kulakan think of Hubert? Hungry? Yeah, the Kulakan. Looks like you're hurt. Just put this in your mouth. The Kulakan just like,
Starting point is 01:12:01 and fights his fist. Ow! His entire mouth, his entire little hand in his mouth. Oh goodness! And he's like biting really hard. Just like you won't let go. Please, just take the jerky, just the jerky! It was Susan's favorite.
Starting point is 01:12:19 And he pulls back and his little goblin teeth are scraping against his skin. As he like...rips the jerky out of his hand. He pulls back and his little goblin teeth are scraping against his skin as he rips the jerky out of his hand. It's like, And the blood from the scrapes dripping down the sides of his. Oh, when I need some healing. No.
Starting point is 01:12:39 I did get thrown from this thing. Frederick says, what? And stands up and knocks you right off the edge. And then he comes right back. I rolled a nati 17, I forgot to do it last round, so he's no longer second. It is Zephyr's turn. All right, so the last one standing is 30 feet away. I'm going to get back into monastic archer stance.
Starting point is 01:13:01 Go for the bow. And I will attempt this aid, this perception aid. Another 27. Wow. So does that apply to both of my three of bows? No, just your first attack. Just the first one? So that's plus two circumstance bonus to that attack.
Starting point is 01:13:15 Right. This is all the Jodi, by the way. And Brother Remus is. Norse Foundry's Jodi, crunching it. Shoot him in the peen, what does he say? The balls. The balls. And the wind, the wind balls.
Starting point is 01:13:24 Yeah, he gives you the wind. Aim slightly right, slightly right. Okay. There's balls. The balls are just like flowing in the direction of the wind. Yeah. Why?
Starting point is 01:13:34 It's kind of like a wind sock. Why are they blowing in the moon? This must be one old dinosaur. That's why it's so big. It's so old. It's a large creature. It's all balls, though. Natural 20. Oh! Oh though. Natural 20! Oh!
Starting point is 01:13:45 Oh! Oh! Oh! That's definitely 10! Oh my god! Oh my god! Yo, brother Amy, it's crit, natural 20. Crit, natural 20.
Starting point is 01:13:53 You've got the crit touch. Holy. The crit touch! I don't even know what to do right now. You never get that from Joe. All right, here, let's do this. Roll the second attack just because, let's just see what happens here. You're a combined house.
Starting point is 01:14:01 Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. What'd you say? You roll the second attack, and she's going to combine with you. You're going to combine with me. You're going to combine with me. You're going to combine with me. You're going to combine with me. You're going to do right now. You never get that from Joe. All right, here, let's do this. Roll the second attack just because, let's just see what happens here. You're at combined health. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, what'd you say? Do you roll the second attack
Starting point is 01:14:09 or she's gonna combine this damage? Well, we don't know if this could affect the attack roll of the next attack. Fair enough, fair enough. All right, this one from Patrick in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. Hey, we were just there! They're not that long ago.
Starting point is 01:14:20 Hey, McNammy, what's up? This one's called Lucky Sevens. Double damage, whether from dumb luck or divine providence, the power of the number seven guides you to greater success for the next seven rounds. Anytime you roll a die, that is a seven in one of the digits received plus one to your result for each seven. I just rolled a 17 for my second attack.
Starting point is 01:14:40 Oh, wow. So it's an 18 to hit. So it'll be a 21. I rolled a natural 17 on the dice. Oh, yeah. Is that what it means? Yeah, so it just means you get a plus one to your result for every seven rolls.
Starting point is 01:14:51 It's a 21 instead of a 20 for the second one. All right, so here's how it's going to work. You're going to double the first damage. OK. The other damage will be regular, but then you add deadly D10, and you combine all that together. So the first arrow that is doubled
Starting point is 01:15:05 BAM Two points plus the deadly D10 Is a six so it's seven points of damage wait you said two plus six I know because I rolled a one on my eight damage. It's eight eight if you rolled a two within a six That's eight one double this two plus six It's right thing you just have lucky sevens on the brain If you rolled a two and then a six, that's eight. One double is two plus six. Oh no. Eight. Oh no. I think you just have lucky sevens on the brain. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:15:29 Eight points of damage so far, and then the second one. Second one. This is great. I forgot what dice do what. Come on. That's seven points of damage for the second one. So that's eight, that's 16 points of damage. Oh, eight points of damage.
Starting point is 01:15:43 That's awesome. Lucky seven. And Stunning Fist applies. All right that's 16 points of damage. Oh, eight points of damage! And Stunning Fist applies. Alright, so 16 points of damage and Stunning Fist, this is going to be eight. You better not roll, get a result of seven on that die. You need your stun for an extra action. Uh, 22. That's a pass.
Starting point is 01:15:58 Damn it! That was fun, and I still have one more action. That was fun, Patrick, thank you. I still have one more action. That you're gonna get a plus one too, because of lucky sevens, right? No, you just, if you roll a seven on this, it's plus one to whatever the result would be. I think I'm just gonna go for the extra hit with my long bow. Yeah, might as well. Why not?
Starting point is 01:16:18 I think it should be cumulative. Because otherwise it's like, I rolled a seven, oh it's an eight. Yeah. Miss. It could make the difference between hitting and missing them or a crit if you rolled a 17 17 plus one it is very helpful 17 yeah, seven like seven. It's like yeah, did you? Miss yep, okay missed however round there by Zephyr. We're do you alive New guy what he got It's flying out there. I'm gonna do the same thing. Or I'm gonna, first action Ray Shield, just to keep it up.
Starting point is 01:16:51 And then two actions ready, if it comes within range. Esoteric Lore, exploit weakness. That happen? Do you then have that to all creatures of that type? Yes. Okay. No, not the type, it has to be the same creature. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:17:05 All the same. By mean type, I mean exact same. So if I had 10 orcs, you don't have to do it for each individual. Exactly. Okay, cool. Well, it is its turn. It begins swooping towards you.
Starting point is 01:17:15 Take your action. Okay. Kill it. The Kukri? Okay, natural 15. There we go. 22 to hit. There we go. Okay.
Starting point is 01:17:23 Here's a question. So we didn't do this before.'s swoop is a two-action John that includes the beak straight huh I think I interrupt your reading yeah that's how I ruled it last time but it is interesting right that's why I read it instead of delaying yeah I'm fine it makes sense in sort of the story that we're telling here just something I know that's the actual rules like he gets to roll that before its actions complete Because if he crits it disrupts stopping the action right on the action Okay, not great damage ten points of damage and points of damage actually
Starting point is 01:17:54 I don't know that you that you stop the action the confidence which you said it made me question everything That's the a o o rule. That's the a o o rule. This is not an a o I forgot this is a ready attack. So maybe it wouldn't stop it, but it disrupts. I think there's a whirl. Well, whatever. In the story that we're telling this to me makes the most sense. You are literally waiting for it to come and you attack it before it attacks you.
Starting point is 01:18:15 So here's what happens. It comes in to try and bite you and you're like, batter up. What are you using? You're kukri? And you're just like, shum! You slice this thing and it's now really hurt after Zephyr hit it, and it flies away. There!
Starting point is 01:18:31 I was waiting for that part. For its last act. Ah! You took it below the... Threshold. The pre-written threshold for it to flee after its lover was killed. Oh, they were lovers?
Starting point is 01:18:43 You have won the combat! Yeah! There's a brief moment of celebration and then the deteriorated body of the Air Territorial is like, and slides off. Grab it! It's a grab it! All right, so you are safe and shockingly, only Hubert was thrown off.
Starting point is 01:19:04 That is shocking. And very cool. I'm so sorry, did he hurt you? You are safe and shockingly only Hubert was thrown off. Hubert's home. That is shocking. Hubert's home. And very cool. I'm so sorry. Did he hurt you? He's like, he says, please, please. Hubert recoils.
Starting point is 01:19:12 Why did you do that? I'm so sorry. Why would he do that? Why would you bite me? I'm so sorry. He's offering to my jerky. He does things sometimes. May I see?
Starting point is 01:19:22 Who he? He... He's... I'm sorry. I'm? Who he? He... he's... I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Please... I'm sorry. What happened to you? Why are you so sick?
Starting point is 01:19:30 I don't... I don't know. It's... It's... It's not me. He helps me sometimes, but I can't always control... I'm sorry. Can't you cure him?
Starting point is 01:19:38 You do all these other things to him. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry.'t always control. I'm sorry. Can't you cure him? You do all these other things to heal us. Can't you cure him of his illness?
Starting point is 01:19:52 He was over your voice. I'm bleeding all over myself. Come here. Turds. He's not sick. He becomes a different person. It's called sick where I come from. It's really quite remarkable if you think about it. that bonds what what's from what is remarkable yeah remarkable means it's quite special oh what the definition of the word remarkably it's
Starting point is 01:20:14 important right now I was looking for clarification so many but hospital what is it hospital what hospital. A hospital. What is that? A building with patients. That's important right now. A big building with patients. That's not important right now. Brother Amias is going to call Hubert over and attempt to treat wounds. Bloody on my hand.
Starting point is 01:20:42 As we are flying through the air. Use your highest mag magic on me please I need to focus sorry I need you to stay silent or I can't focus have to treat myself please help in Ramia's is exactly what it's like talking to my five-year-old just let me explain this thing for once I finished Everyone said, ababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababababab abab abab abab abab abab abab abab abab ab ab ab ab ab ab ab ab ab ab ab ab ab ab ab ab ab ab ab ab points of damage. He's up to fall. Nice. Amazing. Right? Ow. Oh my god this dye today is so hot. That was amazing. Sorry if I got mad there. Just wasn't expecting to be bit by my friend. Hubert you got thrown off. I did. And then you came back. And then you came back. Did. There's some sort of magic here that took me right back but it hurt. The pull hurt me and made me feel nauseous.
Starting point is 01:21:45 We thought that you were... you were dead. Yeah, me too. What did it feel like? It all happened so fast. I just saw me life sort of pass in front of my eyes, and it wasn't... impressive.
Starting point is 01:22:03 No, no, the feeling when you hit, did it feel like something? Did it feel buzzy or did it crackle with electricity or did it tingle? Barnes, Barnes, Barnes. He's trying to... I think maybe he's having big feelings. Give him a second. I don't think he's ever experienced this. What?
Starting point is 01:22:20 Ah, ah, fine. I'm good, brother Amias fixed me up real good. Hubert— Sorry, Buggles, I shouldn't have gotten upset. Hubert, did you notice that— And Asta reaches into her pocket for one of the purple rocks that she had stolen in a fury that I forgot about. And she pulls it out and she says,
Starting point is 01:22:42 Did you notice that there's rocks all over here? Maybe you could have one, just like you had Susan. Oh. Maybe. Tired. Gonna lay down. Would you consider jumping off so we could test the effects of the bishops? Oh, Barnes! No, it's not feeling well.'m gonna magical healing I'm gonna sit
Starting point is 01:23:07 tell me when we get to the village perhaps we all should sit that that was quite a lot wasn't it yeah always these days rather exhausted remember he's still drained yeah yeah he looks like gaunt, right? By his own choice, I guess. It was from a crit, right? Yeah, he expanded from extra energy to. So he sits down on this platform. How far does it look like we are from the village? You think you'll be there by sunset.
Starting point is 01:23:37 So hours? Couple hours. Couple hours still left. OK. Not eight hours. Two and a half, maybe, if you're judging very quickly. Wow speed just incredible It's cool. I was just rereading exploit vulnerability It's in effect until I exploit vulnerability again so that if any other pterodons would have come in the next two hours
Starting point is 01:23:56 Yeah, I feasibly could gain that benefits brother amias is going to look out over the jungle canopy going to look out over the jungle canopy as the wind is kind of blowing across his face and ruffling his robes and he's thinking about the pterodon that he had heard of. These are unnaturally large. Did he hear of them being from another planet or from primal Galarian? No, you've heard of them not like all over Galarian, but certain parts of Galarian. Like existing today in certain parts of Galarian.
Starting point is 01:24:31 But much smaller. Yeah, smaller. These were larger than any that you had read about. Gotcha. Can I roll a knowledge check on the force field magic, whatever it was that bounced Hubert back? Yeah, give me an arcana and you can go ahead and roll it. I'm gonna use esoteric lore on a minus two because of my diverse lore. Okay nati 18 for 24. Okay yeah there seems to be
Starting point is 01:25:00 some kind of like abjuration magic at work that acts like a hidden safety feature so that if anything, any of the cargo or any person was being transported back and forth, you are pulled back on. That is so awesome. Yeah. I mean, it's very, very cool out there magic. I've never heard of it. It just feels like abjuration doesn't feel like anything particular.
Starting point is 01:25:25 Yeah. I mean, everything about this from the, it doesn't really seem alien, but everything about this from this, the crackling electricity that it's riding along, there's some like really advanced magic going on here. I don't think, yeah, Brother Amias is just kind of resting and watching and trying to keep an eye out for any creatures coming, basically. Amius, are you alright? You don't look well. I'm fine, Buckles. Thank you for asking. I just feel rather weak. I'd love to rest. Sit down. Sit down. He's like kind of tugging on you to kind of get you to lie down and like actually rest.
Starting point is 01:26:06 I was trying to keep my eyes peeled to the skyline of... I'll watch, I'll watch. You can watch. Barnes, Zephyr, Huster, we can all watch. Don't feel like you need to do everything. Barnes, had you seen those creatures before? They... You seemed to know exactly where to strike them. Yes. Well, pterodons. Yes. as before they you seemed to know exactly what to strike them yes well pterodons yes right how did the my research I had heard of them in books as well but I'd never seen them so unnaturally large it is unusual still can't account for where we are, geographically.
Starting point is 01:26:45 Yes, I know. I know not what country would contain such beasts, and who, any looks across the village, could survive in such a place. I think we'll soon find out. I think we will. Bugles, thank you. Thank you for keeping an eye on Barnes. I may take that nap. And thank you, Brother Remus, for helping Hubert. Oh, it is my duty. It's my job, and you as well, Buggles.
Starting point is 01:27:18 You as well. And he sort of like lays down and just like folds up his hood of his robe under to get a little bit of padding. Still covered in blood. So Asta will just pop her katana like out of its sheath slightly to have it ready, but uh she is still braiding this um, like red piece of twine. It's very similar to the red that's like tied around her robe, the red that's on her katana, like this tassel that comes off, and you see her also
Starting point is 01:27:49 like cutting off pieces of her own fur and like also weaving it into this red like a tassel almost, and now she's keeping watch while Ramias and Hubert are napping, and she just is kind of mindlessly like braiding this and looking out at the expanse of land and possibly also every so often glancing over to Zephyr just to see if Zephyr is looking at her. Now Zephyr's, she's sitting down and she's still holding her bow but just kind of looking at it and just because she lost it during the fight with the slug. It's back now, this is the first time she's used it.
Starting point is 01:28:30 And she did really well. So she's kind of like, is this my bow? Is something different now? Like just hyper analyzing that. Did Barnes do something? And then maybe she like sees you, she's like, is that your hair? Um, some of it.
Starting point is 01:28:49 What are you doing? I was just... I'm just working on something, making something that I think could bring... Bring us luck. Sort of a thing we used to do. Braiding together pieces. Huh. Does it work? Um, I mean, yes. Do you believe in luck? She like looks back down at the bow.
Starting point is 01:29:17 I don't know. Maybe before? No. Maybe now, I could. I wanted to apologize for how I acted earlier. I'm sorry. Wasn't fair to you. I'm sorry. She looks away, very uncomfortable. Asta also looks away. Feelings.
Starting point is 01:29:44 Not sure if you want to- Sorry, I'm mean to you. Okay. I don't know. I don't know why. So glad I'm sleeping through this. I'd be crippled. We should probably just get along.
Starting point is 01:29:59 Oh god, it's so awkward. Try to not be mean. I'm gonna try to not be mean. I'm going to try to not be mean. I don't know. I don't know why I do the things I do sometimes. I don't know why I say the things I say. Sometimes they're so mean, I don't mean to say them. They just come out.
Starting point is 01:30:15 And I didn't mean to say the mean things to you. I just felt cornered. I don't know. Yeah, I know. I guess I didn't have to yell at you know. I guess I didn't have to, you know, yell at you for no reason. I didn't need the rocks. And, uh, I don't know. I guess I can let you be you. You don't need to sit into my box.
Starting point is 01:30:34 And you're so strong and you're so brave and... You can do cool stuff. You're amazing with your bow and I'm happy you have a pack. Your luck charm is cool. I was actually making it thinking maybe you could have it. Really? Yeah, when I'm finished with it. I don't know if you want it. Who cares? She throws it off the side.
Starting point is 01:30:57 Millions and zephyrs hands. Oh, thank God. I didn't want to throw it. I'm glad it came back. That's what I mean. Sometimes I make such impulsive decisions. I mean it's not the worst thing in the world doing that. Or it's not bad. I don't know. And getting to spend time with you is not the worst thing in the world. I should stop acting like it is. You're really cool. And I think we could be friends and we would have been friends had we known each other when we were younger you you think I'm cool yeah you
Starting point is 01:31:32 yeah should you see yourself no oh you were so amazing you're so amazing in every fight and and I understand why you care so much about Brother Ramious and and Buggles and and your other friends who aren't here and And I really look up to you and I would like to be your friend Okay, let's start over Okay, let's start right now starting now. There's a lot of feelings all at once. I'm your friend. Oh. Okay, let's start over. Okay, let's start over. Starting from now.
Starting point is 01:32:06 Starting now. There's a lot of feelings all at once. I'm Asta. I'm Zephyr. I almost said I'm Kate. You're really in the zone. I think we're seeing some Sydney Kate drama play out here is what I'm saying. What happened on tour?
Starting point is 01:32:22 Bugglesles starts clapping. It's like you're talking to each other again. Good. Maybe now they realize that maybe everyone can hear. We're like 10 feet away. It's kind of awkwardly trying to not be in your business. When I finish this, I will give it to you. Awesome.
Starting point is 01:32:43 Cool. Thanks. I'll try to maybe if I'm creative I'll give you something some time. I'm really good at weaving with flowers so if we come across any cool flowers here I can make you like something cool. Awesome awesome awesome. Hubert wakes up and like in a sleepwalk state, he walks over to the edge while of you facing, he's like facing away from you. And he just, he puts his hands on his hips.
Starting point is 01:33:15 No, no, no. And he starts peeing. No, no. He just comes right back. It's raining. It's starting to rain. Everyone take cover. Oh, the rain's salty.
Starting point is 01:33:23 I think, I think Zephyr definitely started peeing. It's raining! It's starting to rain, everyone take cover! Oh, the rain's salty! I think Zephyr definitely starts laughing at him. Like, this is nice comic relief. Us, it starts giggling. They've got asparagus rain here. I thought you were starving. When were you eating asparagus? But... seems to be a localized stool.
Starting point is 01:33:48 Oh look. And the sun is beginning to set behind the mountains. And the platform is nearing what at once looked like a vast pyramid city, but you now see as you are approaching the beginnings of a city. While many completed buildings stand atop several multiple story tall pyramidal terraces, many more lie in various states of construction. You see piles of stone, wooden cranes sort of dotting the work site
Starting point is 01:34:30 of a pyramid civilization being built. From far away it looked completed, but now you see that this is your work in progress. The setting sun glints off the glass of several telescopes protruding from many of the completed building's roofs, including a huge one in a central domed structure. Perhaps thanks to these telescopes, your approach has not gone unnoticed. has not gone unnoticed. You sweep, like kind of takes a turn, and as you sweep towards the landing spot of this gondola, a rather large crowd of elves has gathered.
Starting point is 01:35:17 Oh! Just watching expectantly as the gondola pulls in to the docking station. And we'll see you next week. Oh! No shit, we'll see you next week. I'm excited for this one. Oh my God.
Starting point is 01:35:31 I'm excited for next week. Pastor Bell. Yeah. First thing I'm saying, before you say your name, where are we? What year is it? What planet are we on? That's awesome.
