It's called Poke Burrito. I think it's a chain. Not above a chain. It used to be a little ice cream shop back in the day when I lived here. It was called like 27 scoops or 27 flavors. 16 handles. 16 handles, thank you.

That was across the street. The Froyo place. No, it was where Poké is. Was it there? Yeah. I only know because we would go. It's delicious. It's 16 handles.

But now it's Poké Burrito. It was my first experience with Poké. Raise your hand if you ate Poké today. Everybody except Joe and Kate. That's right. But you are weird and she just doesn't like raw fish. I'm not weird. No.

In any way. Notoriously not weird. You didn't know what it was and you were afraid so you didn't come. No. As soon as you told me what it was, I was like, thank you. I will not be joining. Oh yeah, you raised your hand and you lied. What's that?

You eat sushi. Yeah, I like sushi. Okay. So it's pretty much deconstructed sushi. Pretty much? Or is it exactly sushi, rice, soy sauce, wasabi, ginger, period? If someone took a plate of sushi and dropped it on the floor

and scooped it up and put it in a bowl, that's what that is. That's what it is. People in Hawaii are mad about that. Except you get to add extra shit like avocado, some mango I put in there, some pineapple. It's fucking great. You sat here and you were like, I don't know about this.

You were here, it was the three of us, you were like, it's a little weird. I said, I don't think I'd order it again. You were right. But we all had a lovely experience. Yeah, it was good. I like how you plug them, but then you're like, I wouldn't get it.

We would get it from a different place. He has to bring it back down a peg. Well, I think the difference would be- That's why we can't get new sponsors. He's like, we're good. You always gotta bring them down a peg. They loved us in there. We could have had them. I want to highlight just how fast Troy ate that poke bowl.

I hadn't even gotten out of my bag and he was done willing to offer his opinion. Food is fuel, meant to be eaten fast and moved on. I was going to say though, when you think of sushi, you think of rolls, right? You like rolls? No. He likes nigiri. You like nigiri, okay. Only nigiri and sashimi. Oh, so you, I was gonna say,

cause I feel like the bar to entry for most people is like, when they think of sushi, they think of a California roll, but when it comes to sashimi, they're like, uh-uh, like too weird. Yeah, I'm the exact opposite. So then you would like- Then you would like this. Okay, then you would like poke.

Okay, we'll see. It's the same thing. It's not the same thing. It's the different thing. It's basically the same thing. It's the different thing. Otherwise they'd call it sushi. I think Skid nailed it. It's like dropped sushi on the floor. No, yeah, it is.

But then they add a bunch of other fun stuff. Right. It's what a burrito bowl is to a burrito. Yeah. Yeah, pretty much. And in this place you can get it as a burrito. Or you can't do that. That's in the name.

Which is just a hand roll. Yeah. It's just a hand roll. Yeah, you wouldn't like the burrito because it's made of the... Oh, you don't like the seaweed. Sea is just a hand roll. Yeah. Yes, the nori. Truly disgusting. Yes, there's a sushi place across the street called Pink Nori, which is great. It is great. You normally go there. I do, I do sometimes. But I mentioned Poke Bowl today.

Do you remember when we were in Toronto and you said, you're doing your own thing and then you texted you like, how about we all get drinks at this place at eight? And then we went in and we didn't have a reservation. It was like a gaming, it was like a D&D theme. Oh, the gaming place. And we had a reservation and they laughed at us,

which was kind of them. But then we left and then we all proceeded to try to find a place to drink. I've never seen you more uncomfortable. I was like, oh, that's my nightmare. Yeah, you were like, goodbye try to find a place to drink. I've never seen you more uncomfortable. I was like, oh, that's my nightmare. Yeah, you were like, goodbye. I'm going home.

Goodbye. I could have been a barista staring at my phone. I was like, I've got to walk. Sydney was yelping, which is always a roll of the dice. We just stopped every block and be like, what do you think? And Troy would be like, I am going to kill myself. Kill myself in the traffic. Yeah, we'd be looking inside windows.

People seem to be smiling. And I was looking for a car going 50. That would be better than this. Remember when you took us to that person's house in LA? What? That was not a house. We went to that really cool place that was like a bar above another restaurant or something. They had all those like floating paper lanterns, all it was like red.

You remember they had, we were playing music. Yeah, was that where we were dancing and stuff? That was someone's house. Mary Lou was there. That was General Lee's. General Lee's. That was later. Remember before Jared's show at the dynasty typewriter.

Oh. That's someone's house. I thought the place was got five stories on Yelp. So we start walking, it's like someone's house. It was just like a pedestrian door and we opened it up and we're like, hello? It was a bar, but. Oh, the local place that we.

But it was, yeah. It was a bar. And it was very dark and people were watching soccer at two o'clock in the afternoon. It was crazy in there. And there was like one bartender who looked at us four and they were like, hmm, we have beer. And we were like, that's great.

That's all we want. And they were like, OK, that's it. That's all we have. And we were like, just one beer, please. That was really funny. Really good either of those places. What'd you have for lunch? I had turkey with pepper jack cheese, avocado,

and crushed What do you call pepper Yeah salt and vinegar chips, oh It was delicious. It's fantastic. You know, they call it the Chelsea You know, they've done a study the two things that shorten people's lifespan more than anything are cigarettes and cold cuts Really? Wait, don't, whoa, whoa, whoa. I can see that. Is a hot dog a cold cut? No, it's its own thing.

Because they say hot dogs. That's number three. I'm pretty sure in your lifespan. Yeah, maybe it was hot dogs. Well, I'll be dead in about a year and a half. It's all the nitrates. Just smoking a butt, eating a turkey sandwich, washing it down with a dog.

Washing it down with a dog. Hey, it's summer. Anybody not eat hot dogs? Hot dogs. I don't eat meat. Yeah. Matt doesn't eat hot dogs. Matt, you don't eat hot dogs? No, things's summer. You just go like that. Pretend I'm not here. I don't want to get involved. It's a long and convoluted story between Matt and the hot dog lobby. It's a long story, I don't want to get into it dog lot. Long story, I don't wanna get into it. They got all grass fed hot dogs now. They're all beef, they're really good.

Kate, you ate a cheeseburger? No. You don't eat a cheeseburger? What about a regular burger? You don't eat a corn dog? For lunch today? No. What'd you have?

I was like, you watched me eat lunch. What did you eat? I had a Cinco de Mayo wrap. Oh, whoa, whoa. I was like, chicken and tomatoes and avocado and wrap. A little spicy. It's fun. It was nice.

Just checking his wash, Joe's already tired of your meal. Listen to your bullshit. You gotta listen to mine. Listen to your bullshit. I like a corn dog. I like a cheeseburger. I don't like when they're too big. I like them smashed.

You like buying one cookie for yourself and not for the team? That's actually a pack of four. Wow! But they're for my train ride home. For my train ride home. You're going to eat four cookies today? Yeah.

That's a lot of cookies. Tiny little cookies, a little package. Remember when you were a kid and you'd eat like a sleeve of Oreos, nothing, anything of it? Chips and oil? If I finish one Oreo, I'm like, my stomach feels awful, what is happening to my teeth? Like, what's wrong with Oreo, I'm like, my stomach feels awful. What is happening to my teeth? What's wrong with my teeth?

It's a box of cheeses. It's still, to this day, nothing I love more than just sitting down with a box of Samoas and eating the entire thing for 15 seconds. I used to eat pints of ice cream all the time. It was full pints of ice cream. I could not physically do that right now. It's got halfints of ice cream all the time. It was like full pints of ice cream. I could not physically do that right now. Yeah, it's good half gallons of ice cream.

I'd get like a half gallon of ice cream and eat the entire thing in a sitting. I don't think I could ever do that. It's amazing. It's a lot of milk. It's impressive. It's a lot of milk. It's a lot of milk.

It's like the milk challenge. You know, remember people would like chug a gallon of milk? What? Yeah, then you just throw up. I mean, everybody just threw up. You can only have so much. It's like protein if you have too much to start pooping. Too much of anything.

Do the exact same challenge, the milk challenge. Do it with water. Hot dogs. You have the exact same result. A gallon of water? A gallon of water. You throw up? In 20 minutes.

You poop? Yeah, if you drink it in 20 minutes. You could die from that. You'll throw up. Can't you like die from having too much water? Like actually don't. Just like violently vomit. It's crazy. Don't. if you drink it in 20 minutes, you'll throw up. You couldn't die from that. Can't you like die from having too much water? Like actually don't. Just like, violently vomit. Just crazy.

Have you done it? No, but an idiot buddy of mine did when we were working together one day. It's hilarious. Water? He was like, AHHHHH! It was like arcing through the air. It was so wild. I never thought in a million years that drinking a gallon in 20 minutes would be that big of a deal. 20 minutes feels like a long time

Not that bad What about the cinnamon challenge? Anybody ever do that? I never did it but it was popular in high school You just like eat a teaspoon of cinnamon and you just put the whole thing in your mouth Wait, you don't know this one? I did when I was younger We did like a pixie stick challenge Oh how's that?

Is that when you snort them? Yes You snorted a pixie stick? When I, how's that? Is that when you snorted them? Yes. You snorted a pixie stick. When I was like seven. Your parents could be watching. Ah! Where do we go wrong? You guys never, pixie sticks.

Yeah. You guys never snorted pixie sticks? Like anything up my nose. There was a thing that was. Even my finger. There was a thing we did in high school where it was done to me, or someone tried to do it to me.

They would say, this's the sugar packet challenge. Well, you got to do it. Like you got to shoot like four packets of sugar in a minute. I remember that. All right. So they would like, we'd be at a restaurant and you'd rip open the sugar.

And then what you didn't know is that while you weren't looking, someone would replace the sugar with salt. So you do the first one, you're like, Oh, that's a good time. You guys remember that show, fear factor? Oh yeah. My sisters and I used to play Fear Factor, where we would just make each other

do increasingly worse things. My older sister was always the judge. She never had to do anything bad, but like me, my younger sister, and whatever friend we had over that day would have to do horrible things. So she would like- Your older sister was the host?

Yes, obviously, always the host. Your older sister was Joe Rogan. Yes, my older sister. Your older sister is Joe Rogan. My older sister is always the host. Your older sister was Joe Rogan. Yes. put a helmet on my younger sister, and be like, climb it unless you're too scared, and then you lose. So we would do that. She'd put chalk pieces in dog food with hot water and be like, Bob for the piece. It wasn't really a fear factor thing. It was sort of just torture between siblings.

I think that's kind of what fear factor was. One of them was, and as a treat, like at the end of the day or something, I remember she dipped cherries in what we thought was sugar and she was like, and for your final test, a cherry and sugar. And we were like, oh, thank God, this is great. And we would pop it in our mouths,

and it was covered in salt. And it was just the funniest thing ever. It was Ajax. Yeah, and we died. And we died. There's also the saltine test, the same thing. Oh, yeah. Just eat five saltines right now, like in a stack.

You can do that. I could do that. Yeah, and you can't. You think you can. You get halfway through, and you're like, ugh. Really? You can't even open your mouth. You start freaking out.

It just comes like glue in your mouth. Really? So my Thanksgiving stuffing recipe, which has been passed down from LaValle's on end, uses saltine crackers as the crushable base. Yeah. Like a whole sleeve in there, it's awesome. Yeah, it's genius because whenever you need to buy saltines,

like when you have a stomach virus, you buy a box of saltines and you get through the stomach virus, you're like, I don't need these. I want to eat anything with flavor. Yeah. So they just sit in your cabinet. Getting stale.

That's a genius way to hear it. My dad likes a little peanut butter on a saltine. Yeah. That was fun. Butter on it, my dad would eat butter on a saltine. Oh yeah, oh right in the tomato soup. Sleeve of butter. Oh, I take it, sleeve of butter,

not sleeve but butter on a saltine. Sleeve of butter. Slap it on. You know, the single saltine. Just push it down. No, but I throw that in the tomato soup and just let it melt and then just eat what was left over. Come on. That sounds good. Saltine's a tomato soup.

Don't be afraid of butter. Unless you have high cholesterol like me. Unless you're dying like me. We can't all be related to jury. Do you guys buy salted or unsalted butter? I buy unsalted grass-fed butter. And I eat it like it's water. I buy unsalted.

You also buy unsalted. You eat water? Both, because they both have utility. I get salted cow-fed butter. Cows eat the butter? No, they eat other cows. Cows eat other cows. Cannibal butter other cows and then they- Cannibal butter. Oh, I see. Cannibal butter.

We get that really like apex predator cow energy. I get fake butter. I get double cow goodness. Marjorie? Fake butter? Yeah. You get marjorie? Country crock?

It's not actually butter. It's olive oil butter. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. That stuff's pretty good. I can't believe that's not butter. I can believe it. We do the, it's not actually mayo, it's olive oil mayo. We do the olive oil mayo.

It's become, what has happened to us? Oh, good for you. You're getting older. Did you ever have a friend, and maybe you were that friend growing up, you'd go over their house for a sleepover and they'd have like country crock or margarine? Yeah.

I don't wanna offend anybody here, were any of you guys margarine people? We had both. Yeah, my grandma would go to her house. There was a thing, I feel like grandmas. I don't want to offend anybody here. Were any of you guys margarine people? We had both. Yeah, my grandmom. We'd go to her house. There was a thing, I feel like grandmas. I don't understand the difference. It's not butter.

I think it was like a thing, moms bought margarine because it was like a health thing, but then we also had butter because my mom baked. It was a fake health thing. It was just like a fake health thing. It wasn't really healthy, but there was a movement. It was a movement. I always remember, we had a thing in there,

but we also had butter because they cooked and they, you know, it was like for toast only. You only put it on toast. You didn't use it. It's like vegetable oil, isn't it? Yeah. It's like people who aren't celiacs being like, I'm gonna go gluten free.

found a room, 100-foot high ceiling with a little bit of light coming through, water dripping down the walls and leading to a pool. You fight these creatures that are like spider monkey, frog things, beaks, horrible eyes, and they just look at you and raise your body temperature. They're doing crazy damage. I'm rolling rocks left and right, per-yuge. But you come out of it.

You do some healing, and then you leap, leap, leap across into this other room, this like long gauntlet-like chamber with a bunch of bas-reliefs of statues of creatures. You see elves, but then you see these reptilian-like creatures and insectile creatures and rat-like creatures and creatures that you have no concept of, all humanoid though, some bearing staves, some holding scrolls, some holding books. And as you walk into this room, you all become overwhelmed with memories of your greatest failures, the greatest shames that you've experienced in your lifetime. It's a very, very awful feeling.

I think I described it as like reverse nostalgia. You start to feel this reminiscing and it just sinks. No one wants to be reminded of their shame. What does this look like to everybody? Barnes, you're new here. You're the first one in the room. I would say- Why do I have to go first? I think this- The new guy has to go first. Yeah. It's you're new here. You're the first one in the room. Why do I have to go first?

The new guy has to go first. It's part of the initiation. What kind of memory does he have in this moment? Kate and I were talking before we started and we were like, what if our character has no shame? What if they have no shame? They're all Nick Lowe's. to it. Love you, Nick. The only man I know who has never been embarrassed in his life, in any situation at any moment. There was a moment I was like, even if he was describing something, and I was like,

oh my god, I can't imagine what it would be like to be you. Sounds wondrous. Google X-Men first class red carpet. Anyone who hasn't seen this, and you will know that this is a man who is completely immune to the ghost. It's on his character sheet, immune to shame. Immune to shame. Oh god. So how do you want to do it? Do you want me to describe what I'm remembering? It's on his character sheet immune to shape Well, how do you want to do it you want me like I can ride what I'm remembering What are you remembering? I think we barn starts just remember this he's in a small kind of hut like a small

One room house somewhere and there's just like the sounds outside This like true like truly monstr, like slovenly, just as it tears into flesh and rips it apart and there's just this young boy screaming, screaming, screaming and then Barnes, who's also a young boy, is kind of sitting on the bed just shaking with fear. He can't move, you can see he wants to get up

and get up and help but he can't, we just hear the flesh being rent outside. Do we see anything or we just hear it? He just hears it. Oh boy. And that's what he associates with shame and failure. What about our other kind of new character? Asta.

Asta, she, I guess if we're seeing through their eyes, their own memories, you see Asta, she, I guess if we're like seeing through, you know, their eyes, their own memories, you see Asta in a sort of like, Pavel-esque room. It's very earthy and woodsy. And there's like this beautiful white dress that's laid on a bed. And she's looking at it. And she walks over, she's feeling the fabric, and she just like kind of makes her claws come out a little further and just slowly

like rips into a seam of the dress down with her claw and then does it again and then kind of blinks and puts the fabric down and moves it to the side and then a door opens behind and you see she turns around and in walks three other kitsune who all sort of look like Asta but they have like different color markings like some have patches of like copper some have like a streak of gray in there like white, and they come in and they're laughing and talking and they they go to the dress and like one of them helps the other one into it and is like buttoning up the back and then they all turn towards the mirror and mirror and notice that it has has these gouges through it. And Asta just joins in,

and you see her hands come in and examines the fabric, and the girl in the dress starts crying. And yeah, that's what you see. Jesus Christ. I'd like kick you out of the party. It's fucked up. She feels very shameful. Yeah. That's some dark shit.

I mean, your monster story was great, but the dress. I mean, that is. But a ripped dress, losing the first love of his life. Who knows? The worst part is I imagine her a day younger than when we first see her in the adventure. A day younger? Yeah, so like her in the adventure. A day younger? Yeah, so like she just did this.

This is the day before. This is the day before she joined the party. In her shame, she was like, I better go help some adventure. You can't see what she looks like. Maybe she's very young.
