Last week on the Glass Cannon Podcast. Well?
Yes, it's a well.
Fonz, would you like to go down?
This way.
Going down these inclines, these declines,
carved with identical images of leafless trees.
I think this is the way in.
Yes, proceed.
You notice these two creatures that start to creep out at you.
Oh my god!
Oh my god!
Yeah, rushy.
Roll for a mission.
Oh!
Why?
With those six tiny eyes, they look at Barnes.
Barnes goes down.
Barnes goes down!
Shit!
I just grit my teeth staring down.
Alright, you have to finish it.
This round.
90, 19.
Oh!
Oh!
And it is dead.
Yes!
Yes!
Hell yeah!
In the back of the room is a pool.
I will leap onto the rock.
Asta gets in the pool.
Don't go too far.
I'll leap.
Fine.
You all get into this room.
As you step in, you start to become overwhelmed
with memories of every single failure you've ever experienced,
every moment of shame.
And it just starts to eat at you till you
begin to buckle over in pain.
The adventure continues...
...now. Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey,
hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey,
hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey,
hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, Hey everybody, welcome back to the Glass Cannon Podcast.
Everyone at this table enjoys raw fish, except Kate.
Hey.
Point at her.
Everyone look at her.
I just got a break.
Listen, some of us for lunch today
went to a local establishment that I'll plug.
It's called Poke Burrito.
I think it's a chain.
Not above a chain.
It used to be a little ice cream shop back in the day
when I lived here.
It was called like 27 scoops or 27 flavors.
16 handles.
16 handles, thank you.
That was across the street.
The Froyo place.
No, it was where Poké is.
Was it there?
Yeah.
I only know because we would go.
It's delicious.
It's 16 handles.
But now it's Poké Burrito.
It was my first experience with Poké.
Raise your hand if you ate Poké today.
Everybody except Joe and Kate.
That's right.
But you are weird and she just doesn't like raw fish.
I'm not weird.
No.
In any way.
Notoriously not weird.
You didn't know what it was and you were afraid so you didn't come.
No.
As soon as you told me what it was, I was like, thank you.
I will not be joining.
Oh yeah, you raised your hand and you lied.
What's that?
You eat sushi.
Yeah, I like sushi.
Okay.
So it's pretty much deconstructed sushi.
Pretty much?
Or is it exactly sushi, rice, soy sauce, wasabi, ginger,
period?
If someone took a plate of sushi and dropped it on the floor
and scooped it up and put it in a bowl, that's what that is.
That's what it is.
People in Hawaii are mad about that.
Except you get to add extra shit like avocado,
some mango I put in there, some pineapple.
It's fucking great.
You sat here and you were like,
I don't know about this.
You were here, it was the three of us,
you were like, it's a little weird.
I said, I don't think I'd order it again.
You were right.
But we all had a lovely experience.
Yeah, it was good.
I like how you plug them, but then you're like,
I wouldn't get it.
We would get it from a different place.
He has to bring it back down a peg.
Well, I think the difference would be-
That's why we can't get new sponsors.
He's like, we're good.
You always gotta bring them down a peg.
They loved us in there. We could have had them.
I want to highlight just how fast Troy ate that poke bowl.
I hadn't even gotten out of my bag and he was done willing to offer his opinion.
Food is fuel, meant to be eaten fast and moved on.
I was going to say though, when you think of sushi, you think of rolls, right? You like rolls?
No.
He likes nigiri.
You like nigiri, okay.
Only nigiri and sashimi.
Oh, so you, I was gonna say,
cause I feel like the bar to entry for most people is like,
when they think of sushi, they think of a California roll,
but when it comes to sashimi, they're like, uh-uh,
like too weird.
Yeah, I'm the exact opposite.
So then you would like-
Then you would like this.
Okay, then you would like poke.
Okay, we'll see.
It's the same thing.
It's not the same thing.
It's the different thing. It's basically the same thing. It's the different thing.
Otherwise they'd call it sushi.
I think Skid nailed it.
It's like dropped sushi on the floor.
No, yeah, it is.
But then they add a bunch of other fun stuff.
Right.
It's what a burrito bowl is to a burrito.
Yeah.
Yeah, pretty much.
And in this place you can get it as a burrito.
Or you can't do that.
That's in the name.
Which is just a hand roll.
Yeah.
It's just a hand roll. Yeah, you wouldn't like the burrito because it's made of the... Oh, you don't like the seaweed. Sea is just a hand roll. Yeah. It's just a hand roll.
Yeah, you wouldn't like the burrito
because it's made of the.
Oh, you don't like the seaweed.
Seaweed and you don't like.
Nori.
Yes, the nori.
Truly disgusting.
Yes, there's a sushi place across the street
called Pink Nori, which is great.
It is great.
You normally go there.
I do, I do sometimes.
But I mentioned Poke Bowl today.
That was my first mistake because I never already came.
Shouldn't have said it out loud. Shouldn't have said it out loud.
Shouldn't have said it out loud.
Snuck off.
Enjoy lunch, everyone.
No one is filled with more regrets than Troy
when he invites people out to things.
He loves lunch with everyone.
Accidentally invited everybody out.
No one to blame but myself.
No one to blame but me.
And then he went there as fast as he could,
got his food and left while we all stood there.
It's true.
I think I worked it.
You have to prep.
Do you remember when we were in Toronto
and you said, you're doing your own thing
and then you texted you like,
how about we all get drinks at this place at eight?
And then we went in and we didn't have a reservation.
It was like a gaming, it was like a D&D theme.
Oh, the gaming place.
And we had a reservation and they laughed at us,
which was kind of them.
But then we left and then we all proceeded
to try to find a place to drink.
I've never seen you more uncomfortable.
I was like, oh, that's my nightmare. Yeah, you were like, goodbye try to find a place to drink. I've never seen you more uncomfortable.
I was like, oh, that's my nightmare.
Yeah, you were like, goodbye.
I'm going home.
Goodbye.
I could have been a barista staring at my phone.
I was like, I've got to walk.
Sydney was yelping, which is always a roll of the dice.
We just stopped every block and be like, what do you think?
And Troy would be like, I am going to kill myself.
Kill myself in the traffic.
Yeah, we'd be looking inside windows.
People seem to be smiling.
And I was looking for a car going 50.
That would be better than this.
Remember when you took us to that person's house in LA?
What? That was not a house.
We went to that really cool place that was like a bar above another restaurant or something.
They had all those like floating paper lanterns,
all it was like red.
You remember they had, we were playing music.
Yeah, was that where we were dancing and stuff?
That was someone's house.
Mary Lou was there.
That was General Lee's.
General Lee's.
That was later.
Remember before Jared's show at the dynasty typewriter.
Oh.
That's someone's house.
I thought the place was got five stories on Yelp.
So we start walking, it's like someone's house.
It was just like a pedestrian door
and we opened it up and we're like, hello?
It was a bar, but.
Oh, the local place that we.
But it was, yeah.
It was a bar.
And it was very dark and people were watching soccer
at two o'clock in the afternoon.
It was crazy in there.
And there was like one bartender who looked at us four
and they were like, hmm, we have beer.
And we were like, that's great.
That's all we want.
And they were like, OK, that's it.
That's all we have.
And we were like, just one beer, please.
That was really funny.
Really good either of those places.
What'd you have for lunch?
I had turkey with pepper jack cheese, avocado,
and crushed
What do you call pepper
Yeah salt and vinegar chips, oh
It was delicious. It's fantastic. You know, they call it the Chelsea You know, they've done a study the two things that shorten people's lifespan more than anything are cigarettes and cold cuts
Really? Wait, don't, whoa, whoa, whoa.
I can see that.
Is a hot dog a cold cut?
No, it's its own thing.
Because they say hot dogs.
That's number three.
I'm pretty sure in your lifespan.
Yeah, maybe it was hot dogs.
Well, I'll be dead in about a year and a half.
It's all the nitrates.
Just smoking a butt, eating a turkey sandwich,
washing it down with a dog.
Washing it down with a dog.
Hey, it's summer.
Anybody not eat hot dogs?
Hot dogs. I don't eat meat. Yeah. Matt doesn't eat hot dogs. Matt, you don't eat hot dogs? No, things's summer. Anybody not eat hot dogs? I don't eat meat.
Matt doesn't eat hot dogs.
No, things are gross.
You not eat it or you just don't want us talking to you?
Corn dogs.
You just go like that.
Pretend I'm not here.
I don't want to get involved.
It's a long and convoluted story
between Matt and the hot dog lobby.
It's a long story, I don't want to get into it dog lot. Long story, I don't wanna get into it.
They got all grass fed hot dogs now.
They're all beef, they're really good.
Kate, you ate a cheeseburger?
No.
You don't eat a cheeseburger?
What about a regular burger?
You don't eat a corn dog?
For lunch today?
No.
What'd you have?
I was like, you watched me eat lunch.
What did you eat?
I had a Cinco de Mayo wrap.
Oh, whoa, whoa.
I was like, chicken and tomatoes and avocado and wrap.
A little spicy.
It's fun.
It was nice.
Just checking his wash, Joe's already tired of your meal.
Listen to your bullshit.
You gotta listen to mine.
Listen to your bullshit.
I like a corn dog.
I like a cheeseburger.
I don't like when they're too big.
I like them smashed.
You like buying one cookie for yourself
and not for the team?
That's actually a pack of four.
Wow!
But they're for my train ride home.
For my train ride home.
You're going to eat four cookies today?
Yeah.
That's a lot of cookies.
Tiny little cookies, a little package.
Remember when you were a kid and you'd eat like a sleeve of Oreos, nothing, anything of it?
Chips and oil?
If I finish one Oreo, I'm like,
my stomach feels awful, what is happening to my teeth? Like, what's wrong with Oreo, I'm like, my stomach feels awful.
What is happening to my teeth?
What's wrong with my teeth?
It's a box of cheeses.
It's still, to this day, nothing I love more than just sitting
down with a box of Samoas and eating the entire thing
for 15 seconds.
I used to eat pints of ice cream all the time.
It was full pints of ice cream. I could not physically do that right now. It's got halfints of ice cream all the time. It was like full pints of ice cream.
I could not physically do that right now.
Yeah, it's good half gallons of ice cream.
I'd get like a half gallon of ice cream
and eat the entire thing in a sitting.
I don't think I could ever do that.
It's amazing.
It's a lot of milk.
It's impressive.
It's a lot of milk.
It's a lot of milk.
It's like the milk challenge.
You know, remember people would like chug a gallon of milk?
What?
Yeah, then you just throw up.
I mean, everybody just threw up.
You can only have so much.
It's like protein if you have too much to start pooping.
Too much of anything.
Do the exact same challenge, the milk challenge.
Do it with water.
Hot dogs.
You have the exact same result.
A gallon of water?
A gallon of water.
You throw up?
In 20 minutes.
You poop?
Yeah, if you drink it in 20 minutes.
You could die from that.
You'll throw up.
Can't you like die from having too much water?
Like actually don't. Just like violently vomit. It's crazy. Don't. if you drink it in 20 minutes, you'll throw up. You couldn't die from that. Can't you like die from having too much water? Like actually don't.
Just like, violently vomit.
Just crazy.
Have you done it?
No, but an idiot buddy of mine did when we were working together one day.
It's hilarious.
Water?
He was like, AHHHHH!
It was like arcing through the air.
It was so wild. I never thought in a million years that drinking a gallon in 20 minutes would be that big of a deal.
20 minutes feels like a long time
Not that bad
What about the cinnamon challenge? Anybody ever do that?
I never did it but it was popular in high school
You just like eat a teaspoon of cinnamon and you just put the whole thing in your mouth
Wait, you don't know this one?
I did when I was younger
We did like a pixie stick challenge
Oh how's that?
Is that when you snort them?
Yes
You snorted a pixie stick? When I, how's that? Is that when you snorted them? Yes. You snorted a pixie stick.
When I was like seven.
Your parents could be watching.
Ah!
Where do we go wrong?
You guys never, pixie sticks.
Yeah.
You guys never snorted pixie sticks?
Like anything up my nose.
There was a thing that was.
Even my finger.
There was a thing we did in high school
where it was done to me,
or someone tried to do it to me.
They would say, this's the sugar packet challenge.
Well, you got to do it.
Like you got to shoot like four packets of sugar
in a minute.
I remember that.
All right.
So they would like, we'd be at a restaurant
and you'd rip open the sugar.
And then what you didn't know is that while you weren't
looking, someone would replace the sugar with salt.
So you do the first one, you're like,
Oh, that's a good time.
You guys remember that show, fear factor?
Oh yeah.
My sisters and I used to play Fear Factor,
where we would just make each other
do increasingly worse things.
My older sister was always the judge.
She never had to do anything bad,
but like me, my younger sister,
and whatever friend we had over that day
would have to do horrible things.
So she would like-
Your older sister was the host?
Yes, obviously, always the host.
Your older sister was Joe Rogan.
Yes, my older sister. Your older sister is Joe Rogan. My older sister is always the host. Your older sister was Joe Rogan. Yes. My older sister.
Your older sister is Joe Rogan.
My older sister is Joe Rogan.
Your older sister is Joe Rogan.
Nepo sister.
She would throw a rope out the second story window,
put a helmet on my younger sister,
and be like, climb it unless you're too scared,
and then you lose.
So we would do that.
She'd put chalk pieces in dog food with hot water
and be like, Bob for the piece.
It wasn't really a fear factor thing.
It was sort of just torture between siblings.
I think that's kind of what fear factor was.
One of them was, and as a treat,
like at the end of the day or something,
I remember she dipped cherries in what we thought
was sugar and she was like, and for your final test,
a cherry and sugar.
And we were like, oh, thank God, this is great.
And we would pop it in our mouths,
and it was covered in salt.
And it was just the funniest thing ever.
It was Ajax.
Yeah, and we died.
And we died.
There's also the saltine test, the same thing.
Oh, yeah.
Just eat five saltines right now, like in a stack.
You can do that.
I could do that.
Yeah, and you can't.
You think you can.
You get halfway through, and you're like, ugh.
Really?
You can't even open your mouth.
You start freaking out.
It just comes like glue in your mouth.
Really?
So my Thanksgiving stuffing recipe,
which has been passed down from LaValle's on end,
uses saltine crackers as the crushable base.
Yeah.
Like a whole sleeve in there, it's awesome.
Yeah, it's genius because whenever you need to buy saltines,
like when you have a stomach virus,
you buy a box of saltines
and you get through the stomach virus,
you're like, I don't need these.
I want to eat anything with flavor.
Yeah.
So they just sit in your cabinet.
Getting stale.
That's a genius way to hear it.
My dad likes a little peanut butter on a saltine.
Yeah.
That was fun.
Butter on it, my dad would eat butter on a saltine.
Oh yeah, oh right in the tomato soup.
Sleeve of butter.
Oh, I take it, sleeve of butter,
not sleeve but butter on a saltine.
Sleeve of butter.
Slap it on.
You know, the single saltine.
Just push it down. No, but I throw that in the tomato soup and just let it melt and then just eat what was left over.
Come on.
That sounds good.
Saltine's a tomato soup.
Don't be afraid of butter.
Unless you have high cholesterol like me.
Unless you're dying like me.
We can't all be related to jury.
Do you guys buy salted or unsalted butter?
I buy unsalted grass-fed butter.
And I eat it like it's water.
I buy unsalted.
You also buy unsalted.
You eat water?
Both, because they both have utility.
I get salted cow-fed butter.
Cows eat the butter?
No, they eat other cows.
Cows eat other cows. Cannibal butter other cows and then they- Cannibal butter. Oh, I see.
Cannibal butter.
We get that really like apex predator cow energy.
I get fake butter.
I get double cow goodness.
Marjorie?
Fake butter?
Yeah.
You get marjorie?
Country crock?
It's not actually butter.
It's olive oil butter.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
That stuff's pretty good.
I can't believe that's not butter.
I can believe it.
We do the, it's not actually mayo, it's olive oil mayo.
We do the olive oil mayo.
It's become, what has happened to us?
Oh, good for you.
You're getting older.
Did you ever have a friend,
and maybe you were that friend growing up,
you'd go over their house for a sleepover
and they'd have like country crock or margarine?
Yeah.
I don't wanna offend anybody here,
were any of you guys margarine people?
We had both.
Yeah, my grandma would go to her house. There was a thing, I feel like grandmas. I don't want to offend anybody here. Were any of you guys margarine people? We had both. Yeah, my grandmom.
We'd go to her house.
There was a thing, I feel like grandmas.
I don't understand the difference.
It's not butter.
I think it was like a thing,
moms bought margarine because it was like a health thing,
but then we also had butter because my mom baked.
It was a fake health thing.
It was just like a fake health thing.
It wasn't really healthy, but there was a movement.
It was a movement.
I always remember, we had a thing in there,
but we also had butter because they cooked and they,
you know, it was like for toast only.
You only put it on toast.
You didn't use it.
It's like vegetable oil, isn't it?
Yeah.
It's like people who aren't celiacs being like,
I'm gonna go gluten free.
It's not doing anything for you unless you're like ill.
Well, I think we learned a lot about each other.
Yeah.
Yeah, this was nice.
Kate, pass out the cookies.
No, sorry.
They're all for me and my four personalities.
We'll take a quick break then while I eat Kate's cookies.
Well, it is official guys. My dad is a huge fan of the Henson shaving razor that I picked up from on Father's Day and this is a very big deal because we're talking about a guy here, my dad, who
is not a fan of change.
The guy likes what he likes and he's been using the same razor for at least 25 years,
probably if not more.
Well I picked up the A13 for him.
I knew it would be a big risk but I loved it so much I thought that he would really enjoy this change and I actually totally used the GCP code when I bought it and
He was definitely a little confused when I gave it to him
But flash forward a few weeks and he is using it daily
He's raving about it. And while he probably does not know that Henson's precise engineering
They are after all an aerospace parts manufacturer While he probably does not know that Henson's Precise Engineering is what makes the blade
extend out only.0013 inches from the base, he knows he's getting no irritation, no scrapes,
no nicks, just like I promised him.
That's been my experience, and my dad, who has ordered the same meal at the same restaurant
every Friday night for the last 40 years, no joke, was just made a convert to the Henson
Shaving AL-13.
A big part of it, I'll be honest, is that he's blown away by how cost-effective it is
when I told him that he won't need to buy blades for at least two years.
Then after that, he'd be talking about roughly five bucks a year at the most. He was like, All right, I'll give it a
shot. If you want to give it a shot, I really think you should
maybe you'll make the same conversion he and I have visit
henson shaving.com slash GCP to pick the razor for you and use
code GCP and you'll get two years worth of blades for free
with your razor. Just make sure to add them to your cart. That is 100 blades when you head to
H-E-N-S-O-N-S-H-A-V-I-N-G.com
slash GCP and use code GCP. Back, oh, are we back? I want to thank our sponsors, I was going to say sponsors,
our founders.
I want to thank our founders, George Washington.
Our sponsors.
I want to thank our sponsors.
We wouldn't be here without John Quincy Adams.
What if every week we just thanked
another person who was instrumental in the founding
of this country?
We technically wouldn't be here.
Norse Foundry, Foundry VTT. And for the last week. I want to thank Demiplane
They've been our found founder a founder. Oh my god. They've been our founding sponsor. They've been a founding sponsor
That's not even correct. Okay, I pay two they were they've been a sponsor ever since episode one
And they're they're moving on to different things. And so we want to thank them
Please please give them a look when you have a chance.
And now we're going to play some Pathfinder second edition.
Pathfinder remastered kind.
Yes.
I love a remastered dungeon crawl.
Little remastered dungeon.
Yes.
Feels fresh.
Feels fresh. Player core, Matthew's holding up the, oh no. Yes. Feels fresh. Feels fresh.
Player core, Matthew's holding up the, oh no.
Yeah, yeah, there it is.
Matthew's holding up the pocket size player.
Oh, I love the pocket size.
Finally a size just for Matthew.
Fance shman.
Finally a finger just for Truc.
Last week you traversed at least a mile of ups and downs and swirly cues and nupsey doos
and other Soosian-like terms until you came to a landing of sorts, turned a corner and
found a room, 100-foot high ceiling with a little bit of light coming through, water
dripping down the walls and leading to a pool.
You fight these creatures that are like spider monkey,
frog things, beaks, horrible eyes,
and they just look at you and raise your body temperature.
They're doing crazy damage.
I'm rolling rocks left and right, per-yuge.
But you come out of it.
You do some healing, and then you leap, leap, leap across into this other room, this like
long gauntlet-like chamber with a bunch of bas-reliefs of statues of creatures.
You see elves, but then you see these reptilian-like creatures and insectile creatures and rat-like
creatures and creatures that you have no concept of, all humanoid though, some bearing staves,
some holding scrolls, some holding books.
And as you walk into this room, you all become overwhelmed with memories of your greatest
failures, the greatest shames that you've experienced in your lifetime.
It's a very, very awful feeling.
I think I described it as like reverse nostalgia.
You start to feel this reminiscing and it just sinks.
No one wants to be reminded of their shame.
What does this look like to everybody?
Barnes, you're new here.
You're the first one in the room.
I would say-
Why do I have to go first? I think this- The new guy has to go first. Yeah. It's you're new here. You're the first one in the room. Why do I have to go first?
The new guy has to go first.
It's part of the initiation. What kind of memory does he have in this moment?
Kate and I were talking before we started and we were like, what if our character has no shame?
What if they have no shame?
They're all Nick Lowe's.
to it. Love you, Nick.
The only man I know who has never been embarrassed in his life, in any situation at any moment.
There was a moment I was like, even if he was describing something, and I was like,
oh my god, I can't imagine what it would be like to be you.
Sounds wondrous.
Google X-Men first class red carpet.
Anyone who hasn't seen this, and you will know that this is a man who is completely immune to the ghost.
It's on his character sheet, immune to shame.
Immune to shame. Oh god.
So how do you want to do it? Do you want me to describe what I'm remembering? It's on his character sheet immune to shape
Well, how do you want to do it you want me like I can ride what I'm remembering What are you remembering? I think we barn starts just remember this he's in a small kind of hut like a small
One room house somewhere and there's just like the sounds outside
This like true like truly monstr, like slovenly,
just as it tears into flesh and rips it apart
and there's just this young boy screaming,
screaming, screaming and then Barnes,
who's also a young boy, is kind of sitting on the bed
just shaking with fear.
He can't move, you can see he wants to get up
and get up and help but he can't,
we just hear the flesh being rent outside.
Do we see anything or we just hear it?
He just hears it.
Oh boy.
And that's what he associates with shame and failure.
What about our other kind of new character?
Asta.
Asta, she, I guess if we're seeing through their eyes,
their own memories, you see Asta, she, I guess if we're like seeing through, you know, their eyes, their own memories,
you see Asta in a sort of like, Pavel-esque room. It's very earthy and woodsy.
And there's like this beautiful white dress
that's laid on a bed.
And she's looking at it.
And she walks over, she's feeling the fabric, and she
just like kind of makes her claws come out a little further and just slowly
like rips into a seam of the dress down with her claw and then does it again and then kind of blinks and puts the fabric down
and moves it to the side and then a door opens behind and you see she turns
around and in walks three other kitsune who all sort of look like Asta but they
have like different color markings like some have patches of like copper some
have like a streak of gray in there like white, and they come in and they're
laughing and talking and they they go to the dress and like one of them helps the
other one into it and is like buttoning up the back and then they all turn
towards the mirror and mirror and notice that it has has these gouges through it. And Asta just joins in,
and you see her hands come in and examines the fabric,
and the girl in the dress starts crying.
And yeah, that's what you see.
Jesus Christ.
I'd like kick you out of the party.
It's fucked up.
She feels very shameful. Yeah.
That's some dark shit.
I mean, your monster story was great, but the dress.
I mean, that is.
But a ripped dress, losing the first love of his life.
Who knows?
The worst part is I imagine her a day younger
than when we first see her in the adventure.
A day younger? Yeah, so like her in the adventure. A day younger?
Yeah, so like she just did this.
This is the day before.
This is the day before she joined the party.
In her shame, she was like, I better go help some adventure.
You can't see what she looks like. Maybe she's very young. Maybe she's not. I don't know.
Okay.
Zephyr.
Well, with like shame and disappointment, I feel like a lot of stuff comes to her mind
all at once.
It's like a mishmash of these memories from like remembering times with Ollie when they're
having fun, but then like seeing his dead face and like being embarrassed trying to
give him the wreath that she made being rejected from that.
And then, you know, lucky, having a great time with her,
feeling close to her, and then like seeing her die.
And then with Talitha, like wasn't super, super close
with Talitha, but still it's just like seeing friends
just like die and like being there right in those final
moments and like listening to her saying, run she did and maybe she shouldn't have and as
she's like remembering all of this I think she's looking around at everyone
all of you and just like scared
the Ramias the gramias has his pain the, comes over his face and you see these flashes like a
bright, bright, bright day, like it's almost washed out in the camera lens.
And as it starts to resolve into some color, you see two boys playing at a cliff's edge and frolicking about and very clearly you can
see one of them is a young brother Ramius but the other looks exactly like
him. It's his twin brother. You can see them kind of roughhousing a little bit
and then you can't we can't hear anything that's saying we just see this
in flashes and we see Ramius's brother like standing at the cliff's edge looking over the side
and like begging him and beckoning him like let's dive in, let's dive in, you know, like
you know and he's like grabbing his hand and Ramius is like pulling his hand away and like
you know like in fear.
He's like no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. He seems to, eventually his brother seems to convince him, like we're going to do this. We're going to do this on three, you know.
And you see the ocean is just like coming up and it gets kind of, the water gets kind
of deep and then it's like receding and then it comes up, it gets kind of deep and then
it's receding like 30 foot drive or something like that.
And you see the brother counts it off and Ramius agrees to finally do it and they're
standing there and they're counting in one, two, three and on three Ramius just doesn't jump and his brother does and the water pulls
away from the cliff and he BAM he hits it like a ton of bricks and you just see Ramius
like and his brother starts screaming up at him and he's begging him to come down and he's just frozen in fear and he can't climb down, he's too afraid.
I've seen some of this before. What about Buggles?
to his last night in his old home before he went through the gate when he. And he's just thinking about, even as he was leaving, like he was
thinking about the other goblins left behind in the house and how they would all suffer,
the torment that they would all suffer for what he had done. And he was being ushered
out because of this. The elder believed in this prophecy that he would come back and free them all one day, but for now at least until he does.
The unbelievable amount of torture, deprivation that would be inflicted on the other goblins that he knew growing up in that house because of what he had done.
Thinking about it now, it's like a physical pain, like it's being stabbed in his stomach.
He's just like clutching at his little belly and bent over, just thinking about all the suffering
that he feels he inflicted by his actions on his friends,
the people he saw as his family in that house.
So you all just get overwhelmed with these feelings,
these memories, and as we're seeing these scenes play out,
we're seeing these faces of all these bar reliefs,
these statues sort of looking at you, judging you.
Shame, shame, failure, failure.
Give me a will save, Barnes. Will save, you say? Yes. Uh, 24. 23. 23. 23. You're able to like
steal yourself away from this like pain in your mind. But yet you still feel these memories welling up inside you.
Everybody roll for initiative.
Oh no.
Roll, roll, roll, roll, roll, roll, roll for initiative.
Initiative brought to you as always by Norse Foundry.
For all.
It is.
by Norse Foundry for all. It is, it is.
All right, Barnes, you were able to withstand that attack,
whatever it was, but what did you roll for a nish?
Amusing Perception, for a nish.
That would be a 14.
14, oh, Barnes-y.
Asta.
Also a 14.
Not good.
Brother Rumu?
12.
Oh.
Oh, what?
Oh, you joker.
No!
Oh!
Ruh!
Buggles.
Also a 14.
Oh my god!
Did you roll a nine to be all roll a nine?
I rolled a seven.
Wow.
I rolled a nine.
Wow.
Zeth.
19.
Nice, thank God.
All right. Me, me, me, me, me you lift your head up and you look at these statues.
Something's going on here.
What do you do?
I guess looking around, I mean on the map, it looks like the statues have various expressions
or like things that they're doing.
Is there anything in that that like gives me a clue to what's
happening? Because there's nothing like outright attacking us.
Give me a... you can do perception, you could do you know, arcana, occultism. What do you
want to do here?
My perception is the best one. I don't have many of those other ones.
Okay, give it a try.
Nope. It's a 12.
Alright, so first action, you're looking around and you can't figure out what's happening here.
I guess if I don't know what's happening...
What do I guess, can I make a few steps forward here?
Yeah, for sure. You can move deeper into into the room see if there's a way out and you see now as you if I feel
Better there is a like passageway to the north there leading out
But you don't know where it leads so
One move action 35 feet and I see some bones on the ground up there.
So I don't think I'm gonna go through that little corridor
by myself.
And
I guess I'm just ready to assist if something happens.
Okay.
All right, so, yeah, you used two actions.
Do you wanna actually do an aid for your third?
Yeah, like if I see anything start to happen or someone start to do something
I want to try to help but she doesn't know what to do. Okay. All right. Let's leave it at that and see what happens
As something in fact begins to happen
Buggles give me a will save. Can we does it? Oh, okay. Yes
Can I assist on Will Save?
I feel like that doesn't make sense.
No, you're looking for something to like,
that you could actually help with.
It's just like inflicting Buggle's mind.
Yeah, maybe like on a-
Only skill checks or attack rolls.
Yeah, okay.
14.
14, you take 13 points of mental damage.
Oh boy.
Asta, give me a will save.
Oh no.
17.
Asta, you take 18 points of mental damage.
What?
Zephyr, give me a will save.
Dang it.
Okay.
Oh God, 25.
You seem to have steeled yourself, not unlike Barnes, against this crushing weight of despair.
Brother Ramious, give me a will save.
Man.
Uh, 14.
You take 12 points of mental damage.
It's the weight of your failures racking your mind.
Now it's Barnes' turn.
All right, so Barnes suspects this is a haunt.
Ah, okay.
As is Matthew.
And luckily Esoteric Lore-
You're so smart.
It's like- Kate suspected, but Z As does Matthew. And luckily Esoteric Lore. You're so smart. It's like.
Kate's a spectre but Zephyr.
Esoteric Lore is specifically used
to recall knowledge for haunts.
So I'm gonna.
Trying to figure out what's going on here.
Recall knowledge.
You can assist me on this.
I can?
I don't have it?
It's a skill check.
It's a skill check so you can aid me.
Okay, what do I roll to aid you?
Whatever you want.
Come up with something that could be relevant.
There's, oh. There's statues of elves here. Society? What do I roll to aid you whatever you want come up with something that could be relevant?
There are statues of elves here
Society stabling more. Yeah try society. Why not?
Maybe something again going back to your butcher father natural 19. Oh, there we go. I give yourself a plus one
It might be a crit
Total oh, I give you some plus two. There you go. Oh, I didn't know that could happen. Yeah now it's 15 DC
Okay
32 Wow
31 31 31 just round up. Okay
All right, so
See the best way to try and explain this in game terms. Just explain it purely mechanically.
And then we'll be...
We'll translate it.
You think you have some options here.
You could like, personally try to blank your mind out to like, try and force these memories
out of your head, but that would really only help you.
It wouldn't help the group.
There might be some magic to try and counteract whatever is going on here, and you think maybe
Ramius might have something like that.
The only other thing you can think of is like, you do see that there are some of the statues,
their eyes look a little different than the other ones, and you think, oh, there must
be some sort of like
sensor mechanism here.
We need to overcome these sensors.
Like get through them, get past them.
Or, no, like, mechanic terms, it's like you do a
thievery check to like gouge out these sensors.
Oh. Okay.
And one thing that we haven't done ever is that
any time you use an action to disable a haunt
It's two actions to do that
Just as if you were using a thievery check to like unlock something that's a new action John
Oh, so I know on the live show we've done it where it's like, oh you got three actions
You're gonna in this because a lot of these you need X amount of checks
but it's two actions every time you try to do one thing and
As luck would have it either one of these statues with the eyes or one of
these that I'm already adjacent to.
Ah, Freak-o!
Are you, are you up against the wall there?
Yeah, I'm next to three of them.
Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
All right. I will attempt with two actions. I'll explain what I just what I what I said is, there's
some of these they have senses we have to try to overcome them. Use your insert story
term for thievery check to see if we can see if you can see if you can overwhelm them.
Otherwise, you have to clear your mind completely blanket of all memories. We only have one
shot at this. J. Edgar Hoover, J. Edgar Hoover will appear and make us sad.
A Thievery check, right?
Thievery check.
Let's see what you got.
Nady 18 for a 24.
Are you trained in Thievery?
Trained in Thievery.
Okay.
One of the censors goes dim.
Nice.
What'd you roll?
24.
Oh, okay.
And I was trained.
You shout out all that information to your friends,
and it is Asta's turn.
Keep in mind, if you wanna try and do these sensors,
you need to be adjacent to the wall.
Yep.
Okay, and sorry, which ones again have the one that you did,
and then what's the one that has it still?
You get adjacent to a wall.
I can do it, okay.
I'm gonna hold you over the coals, yeah.
So Asta will move down one,
and I'm also gonna do a thievery check then
as my two action drawn.
Okay. I'm gonna try to pry it out.
Are you trained?
Yes.
Okay.
That's gonna be 20, 30, 20.
30, 20, all right, so you're trying to grab at this thing
and it just won't come out.
Ooh.
Dammit.
All right.
I'm trying, I think Asta goes,
it's not working.
And she's just having more flashes of, you know,
like she's trying, but she's so discombobulated.
Yeah, that feeling of failure and failing in this moment
is just like weighing you down.
Yeah, she's like, I can't do it, I can't do it.
I can't do anything.
You can do it, you can do it, just try again.
Buggles. Next turn. Try again do it, you can do it. Just try again. Bugles.
In six seconds.
Bugles is going to drag himself along the wall.
In the position where he's going to try to pry this thing's eyes out like it's a cover of the original player's handbook.
Nice.
Yeah, this is going to be really hard because I have a plus seven, but like that's it.
That's a tough DC.
So yeah, I mean for someone like Buggles, I'm sure there's another.
I mean, I'm good at it, but it's like, this is a really hard check.
Yes.
Tough check.
Yeah.
I mean, it may be better to just steal yourself and let other people do it.
It depends.
I don't know.
So Buggles tries the same thing cannot get it out
And it comes to brother Ramias
Brother Ramias is just gonna try to push this vision out of his head. Okay, give me arcana or occultism. Oh
That's all that you can do
You can't do religion. Mm-hmm pray it out pray it out
I'd allow religion. It's going to be higher DC.
Okay.
Yeah, no question.
Religion praying to grew Hossa to see him through this 14.
Then I'll do it again.
That was two actions.
It's two actions to press it out.
Yeah.
Okay.
Every every disabled attempt is two actions.
And he will move through and he's just going to get out of here. Uh, okay. Yeah, every disabled attempt is two actions.
And he will move through and he's just gonna get out of here. So, all he can reach is to next to Zephyr.
Okay, so you come to that room and you see up ahead.
You moved closer to me and brought more light,
and I can see deeper into the Room of Bones.
Yeah, now I see the Room of Bones up ahead.
Lovely Room of Bones.
Lovely Room of Bones.
Behind this door, a Room of Bones. It's a Room of Bones up ahead. Lovely room of bones. Lovely room of bones. Behind this door, a room of bones.
It's a room of bones.
Round two, Zephyr.
So she hears what Barnes says.
She's surprisingly good at thievery and trained in it.
And she's next to the wall.
So she's going to try.
Pry an eye.
To pry that eye.
Pry an eye.
24.
There you go.
Nice.
Two down out of question mark.
Out of question mark.
Question mark.
One action left.
One action to move over to.
To another statue.
To another statue.
Sure.
Move in the direction of another one of these.
All right, two of these eyes have been pried out
And now they go to enact on you one two three four five
six
Hubert to save you now it's on a cliff
Give me a will save oh man
Beans this feels different dress. It's ripped
Can't pry an eye I can't oh that's gonna be a
24 24
You're fighting against it
No six all those sixes another two. I'll mix it up
Brian will save will save I'll mix it up. All I know are the 60s. Brian. Ah. Will save? Will save.
Ah.
21.
You take 15 points of mental damage.
Are you down?
Holy.
Ah.
Are you down?
Ah.
Um, no, not yet.
Help.
You just hear your brother's voice calling to you.
Help.
Anyone.
Help. It's Barnes' turn. All right. calling to you. Help! Help! Anyone! Help!
It's Barnes' turn. All right, how far do I have to move
to get to another statue?
One move action.
All right, so slide down, try to do another.
Slide, slide, slippity slide.
Try to do another one.
There we go.
No, 15.
15.
It is now Asta's turn. Okay, I'm at the same statue. I didn't get out last time. I'm gonna try maybe you loosened it a little maybe
No, I didn't so
Action laughs you see brother Ramias teetering. I hit it brother Ramias no
Please from the knowledge that was
Brother Ramia's out. Please do, just make it stop.
Just put me down.
From the knowledge that Barnes yelled out
about the haunts and stuff,
if I hit it, could I possibly end this effect also?
Barnes seemed to let on that it needs
to be physically pulled out of the wall.
Whatever magic is coming from it
is from its placement in the wall.
Smash it.
Okay.
There's like nothing to do.
Yeah, one action.
I can invigorate fear.
I can turn into a fox.
You can aid somebody else's thievery check.
Aid mine?
Yeah, who's next?
I'll aid Buggles.
I'll aid Buggles.
Okay.
Yeah, you've caught you.
Like, you're waking it up.
You're going to maybe help him on his turn.
You guys are pretty close to each other.
Go ahead, Buggles.
Do I have to, I have to aid first, right?
Yeah.
See if you're on DC 15.
Yeah.
Nice.
Okay.
Plus one.
What's the...
With my thievery, that's going to be a 27.
That's a plus two.
That's a plus two.
Okay. Come on, Buggles. Okay, so a plus two. Okay.
Come on, boggles.
Bugs.
Okay, that is a 24.
Ooh, four.
Yes.
Pulls out with Asta's help.
There, there, I can't do it, but you can.
I can't do anything right.
I know all about what doesn't work.
I only mess up.
I only mess up.
Learn from my failure.
You have one action, is there anything you want to do with it?
I'm gonna move further down along the wall to presumably another statue.
Okay.
And closer to the room of bones.
Closer to the room of bones.
Brother Ramius, you're being buffeted by these memories.
Um, yeah.
Ramius.
Ramius. Ramius. He's just like, no! Memories Yeah
Just like yeah, he screams and he's just gonna burst out healing energy
So he'll do an aoe reaction heal
For 15 nice everybody but Asta
But maybe Asta I'm back. Oh, she's in 30 feet. Everybody, including Asta.
I needed that.
One of the spider monkeys comes back to life.
Ah, I feel great.
Hello.
Hello.
Hello, little friend.
Hey, guys.
Oh, no.
What's going on here?
Oh, my memories.
No.
No.
Oh, my shame.
Oh, my shame.
Yeah, I wasn't one of them embarrassed.
Oh, yeah.
You know when I died?
I'm so ashamed of when I died't one of them embarrassed. Oh, you're one of them when I died? So ashamed of when I died.
Round three, Zephyr.
Gonna try, now that I moved down the wall,
to disable another one with my thievery.
I don't think it's gonna do it.
16.
16. Yeah.
Just can't get that particular one.
I'll try to aid Asta with my last action.
Thank you.
In the meantime, it comes at you again, Zephyr.
You see Ollie, you see that little flowers
that you handed him just laying on the ground.
Drop, oh no, my parents don't want me to be with,
well you know, give me a will save.
Oh.
19.
You take 12 points of mental damage.
Now it's Barnes' turn.
Okay, I will try to remove the eyes from the statue.
I'm working on it again.
Come on, Barnes.
It's weakening the party. I'm working on again. Come on. We're getting the party, okay
21 21
It's like jiggling in place. Damn it. It just won't fucking national 15
Okay, then I will attempt to aid who's next buckles no, I'm eating you're eating Asta
I will a buckles okay stack the AIDS aiding Asta. I will aid Buggles. Okay.
Stack the aides.
Stack them aides.
It is Asta's turn.
Give me a DC 15 check.
Nope.
Okay.
Asta.
On your own, Asta.
Busy with my feelings.
Fever again?
Busy with my feelings.
That's, no, that's a 15.
Ghost of Buggles.
Try to aid Buggles.
Try this deck.
I can imagine you're all just. Oh my god.
No aid.
Oh wait, can I aid as my last action for Buggles?
A double aid, sure.
Yeah.
No, 16.
Yeah, 16.
Yeah, plus one.
Yeah, plus one.
Buggles.
Natti 18.
There we go.
Buggles, perhaps the weakest of the group physically. The strongest thief. Strongest thief. There we go! Zephyr looks at you as probably like softly crying. Yeah.
Listen, no, no, no, no.
We all felt it, yes.
All felt the deep shame.
Brain.
And the pain.
And the pain.
And the pain.
And the pain.
And the pain.
And the pain. And the pain. Zephyr looks at you as probably like softly crying. Yeah. Listen, no, no, no, no.
We all felt it, yes.
All felt the deep shame
preying on us. It hurt us physically.
This wasn't real.
It was a magical effect.
It felt really real.
It was real.
It could not have been.
I was detecting magic before we arrived.
When I was within 30 feet.
Read the room, pal. There is no magic here. Read the room. magic before we arrived when I was within 30 feet.
Read the room, pal.
There is no magic here.
Read the room.
It's not possible.
These haunts must be.
We're all fucked then, all right, let's go.
Slipping beneath our sensors.
This way.
Hold on, hold on.
Oh my.
Still very hurt.
There's a lot of bones in there.
Oh yes.
It looks like at least one shield.
Yes there is.
At least one shield,
so we might be able to sell that for some gold.
Asta just is looking at the ground.
Big, big feelings, Asta.
No, no, no. Asta.
I know how to defeat this.
You stuff them down. No, I was going to do the opposite, I was going to share my shame. Oh. Andsta? I know how to defeat this. You stuff them down.
No, I was going to do the opposite,
I was going to share my shame.
Oh.
And hear it for you all to hear.
Oh no.
Oh.
You don't want to hear that?
It wouldn't be necessary. If it helps you.
It's all right.
It's not gross or anything.
Are you hurt?
No, I'm fine.
All right, well then relax.
Relax a minute.
All right.
Seems like this team has gone for a long while
without much inspiration.
Apologies for trying to help.
I did suggest that we all talk to each other. Or when Talitha died, perhaps we should share.
Share your shame, Uncle Barnes.
I have something to share, then.
Yes.
I didn't get that close to Talitha, but when she died it still hurt a lot, so I guess it doesn't matter if I get close to you guys or not.
It always hurts. There's no avoiding it. You might as well embrace the joy of connection.
Me, when I was 14, my best friend, more than my best friend really, but he was killed by a monster
outside his house. I did nothing to help him.
I listened to him being torn from him.
Dedicated my life to understanding the kinds of things
that hurt us that way.
There is good that can come from tragedy.
We all have it in you.
I've seen you all each do wonderful things.
You're no need to share, I just wanted to let you know.
I admire all of you, each and every one.
I tried to sabotage all of my sister's Fox's weddings
because I wasn't getting married.
That's pretty dark.
Jesus Christ.
This is...
Previous.
This is the...
Warns.
Thought we were sharing.
You said to share.
Sorry.
Just because it's not what you wanna hear doesn't mean...
Just wasn't expecting something, so.
I tried, but it didn't.
I did.
I did.
Sorry, I reacted, I wasn't thinking.
I never told anyone that.
Go back to my work.
Are you hurt?
It's okay, you're not a bad person.
Emotionally? And physically, yes. They're like? It's okay, you're not a bad person. Emotionally and physically, yes.
They're like stitching up her wounds,
you're like, jeez.
You're such a shithead.
My doctor's like, Jesus Christ.
God. You're nuts.
One of the statues says, that's fucked up, man.
Yeah.
I know.
It goes right back to her.
I know, I know it's fucked up.
I know, it's completely understandable.
Not your best moment, of course, but...
Moments.
There were three of them.
You did it more than once?
Fucking kidding me?
And he opens up the wound he took out.
He sabotaged three weddings?
He sabotaged his...
He did three times as bad as you?
One wedding?
Okay.
Two?
This is the sneaky thing.
I think...
I think he's going to be a little bit more aggressive.
I think he's going to be a little bit more aggressive.
I think he's going to be a little bit more aggressive.
I think he's going to be a little bit more aggressive. I think he's going to be a little bit more aggressive. I think he's going to be a little bit more aggressive. I think he's going to be a little bit more aggressive. I think he's going to be a little bit more aggressive. And sabotage three weddings? And sabotage three times a year. That's a problem.
One wedding, okay.
Two.
This is the sneaky thing about us.
Osta's like, she walks around and she's like,
oh, hello, oh, I'm Osta, oh.
And she is a villain.
Like a nasty, nasty creature.
I think maybe for your own wellbeing,
as well as others,
you shouldn't attend anymore weddings for a while.
It wasn't just the weddings.
What do you mean?
Please stop.
I beg of you, we must.
I should stop.
We have to work together.
We have to work together.
It's probably best.
Adoptisms.
Wasn't just the weddings.
Please stop.
I will.
Ten points of healing for you.
I'm good, I'm back up.
Thank you for sharing our lives.
I'm going to go back to bed.
I'm going to go to bed.
I'm going to go to bed.
I'm going to go to bed.
I'm going to go to bed. I'm going to go to bed. I'm going to go to bed. I'm going to? Please stop. I hope.
All right, 10 points of healing for you.
I'm good, I'm back up.
Thank you for sharing, Asta.
10?
You hurt?
Oh, I'm down 12 now.
That's another time we can share more, talk more.
Yes.
There's more.
I understand why your default mode has been repression.
There's a lot of things that I've never talked about.
Maybe you can write them down.
I have to walk around?
Yeah.
I have to walk around in a circle for a second?
Thank you. Thanks for sharing.
She turns into a fox.
She just turns into a little white fox.
And just is walking.
Buggles, are you alright?
Yes.
Are you hurt?
No.
Remus, are you alright? I am. Are you hurt? No. Ramius, are you all right?
I am bonds, I'm fine.
I have the ability to heal.
It would give, it's not an infinite resource,
but I might be able to help you if you...
I appreciate that.
I think we're all right.
Everyone in good shape.
Did you do me?
Yes, 18.
18, awesome.
And little Fox, Asta,
Asta looks up at brother amy's
What
Why are you looking at me it just said that moment from playback?
That way why are you doing that?
Is there any magic coming from these bones? You had facetiously mentioned about how you were detecting magic, so you should have known,
but if a hazard has a minimum proficiency, detect magic is useless against it.
Oh, so Brother Ramius is stupid.
A magical hazard with a minimum proficiency
detect magic does nothing.
And if it doesn't have a minimum proficiency,
you still, you learn the presence of it.
Like a minimum proficiency to like try and-
Like perception?
Yeah.
Here's the thing, I'm a level 20 sorcerer.
I don't detect it.
As rules I've written, as written, no. Unless there's some feat that allows you to bypass that, but I know I would ever take that feat.
Even if it didn't have a minimum proficiency, all you know is the presence of it and you know nothing about how to disable it.
Sure, sure, but like we would've been like, there is magic up ahead. One person up there check it out. Whatever, but like I
Mean that means it's undetectable. It's like the magic has its own mind sort of so it can like hide itself
Maybe it's how I'm thinking about it like it's a trap basically so it's hidden
Yeah, I mean this is where this is where?
Exploration mode really comes in handy
It's useless because I was doing the exploration mode that should detect that kind of thing.
So what I'm saying is like,
I wonder if there's a minimum level
your detect magic has to be heightened
to detect, you know,
this thing is undetectable.
You know, only by
mundane means. Seems like a lame trap.
Yeah, but that's, cons have always
kind of been that way.
Because they don't, I don't think they normally are, are detectable. They don't really detect. That's
true. They didn't. Yeah. In first position, I remember being able to detect haunts with
detect magic. Yeah. It's just like, they have like a, some sort of telltale sort of effect
in the environment that gives you a little bit of warning. Yeah. But other than that,
I don't think there was a way to sort of like get forewarning about them.
Yeah, well that's news to Ramious. Like, that's the whole reason he was doing it,
because he was like, they might have these magical traps down here to like protect
themselves. And now we don't, we have no way of finding them magically.
So then yeah, he wouldn't do the type magic.
The eyes that we pulled out, do we get to keep them?
Yeah, are they like gems or anything or like?
They're nothing special. All right you here
Just chewing on a rock. Ah says just chewing on bone in the room. She's a fox and she crawled up there
She's chewing on bone how she's moved wait
Do you detect magic brother amy's is there a presence of magic in this room?
Is there a presence of magic?
in the room?
Yes, Asta, Asta.
Yes.
She spits it out.
Slow down.
The glowing orb of light starts to kind of trickle
the skirt of its light around to the edge of the room.
Is it a large room, Barnes?
It's very large, much larger than I thought.
I take out my bow.
Asta tries to run over the bones and like slips.
Asta, wait!
Might be something, there might be a hazard in here.
Let me give Fox Asta some light here because...
Regular Asta had it, but I put Fox for him in there.
Oh, thanks.
It's a lot of bones!
Oh my god, there's so many more bones!
Now that the fox has come in, let me give you a description here.
It's a pretty rough cavern, but it's braced by huge pillars of worked stone.
There are bones as well as rusted, rotten armor lying scattered about the entire cavern
floor.
You look to the north beyond all of this, beyond the furthest pillar, and there is a
passageway.
It continues onward.
As you enter the room,
you're low to the ground.
You might even be the first to notice this.
Some of the bones start to shake.
Mm-mm.
F my A.
They start to shake and then...
Start to stack on top of each other. I don't know what you ever think is going to happen.
You go in animal form too.
We'll see you right after this break.

I mean, this is straight out of a video game.
Dark Souls, whatever.
They assemble.
Nightmares assemble!
They turn into these three
skeletal champions,
but they look very...
Cham-Kinley? No crossovers in choice games. skeletal champions, but they look very, very-
Chim kindly?
No crossovers in Troy's games.
But they were, those are two Troy games.
They, I'll tell you this, they have,
their skeletal form, it's very clear that they are not human
or that they were not human.
One is very clearly an elf,
you can tell from the bone structure it is an elf.
Whereas the other ones are completely alien.
I don't want to tell you.
If I said what they were, you'd know, meta-wise.
But I don't think you would know just by looking.
La Shunta.
La Shunta.
Barbeque.
Battle cap.
Yeah.
How many arms do they have?
Well, I'll say that in the previous room,
some of those statues look similar.
You know, obviously know, obviously skeletal
versions. Two of them have long swords, one of them has a lance. Roll for initiative.
A lance!
A lance, lance, lance revolution.
Very interesting.
Lance best, lance best.
And Asta's a fox.
I want you to know.
So since I detected magic and was totally ready, any bone?
Can a guy get a bone on this here?
There's plenty of bones all over the floor.
Asta has a bone.
Yeah, I bet she does.
You wanted a bonus.
I wanted a bonus.
What did you get? I don't know if that's good or bad.
It's so horrible. I am ICE!
I am in single digi town
What did you roll Joe I rolled an 11
Adjusted 11 Zephyr 22 22 for Zephyr
But the bar at Barnes eight That's your one Pepper. Barnes.
Eight.
Natural one.
Asta in wolf form.
I wrote wolf form, I don't know.
I get to be a wolf today.
18.
18, all right.
And Buggles.
12.
A 12 for Buggles.
Let's begin the encounter.
It's round one.
The Longsword Lashhunta skeleton in the back.
Let me put them all, make them all visible. I'll show you.
They look like, I mean this is so boss. I mean what is more D&D than fighting some fucking skellies? Those are skellies, bro!
I like how they're like, hello!
I know that art too.
Welcome home!
Welcome home!
Yeah, I mean they have pretty boss.
And the one in the back is going to kill the fox.
Yeah.
Let's just be honest, that's what it's gonna do here.
I wanna check its movement before we get into...
Okay.
Very good.
Okay, respect the pillars.
It's gonna slide up, first action.
Stride right up to the fox.
Second action, it's going to swing its longsword down on you.
You have your fox's AC there?
I'm trying to find it.
I think I have eight hit points.
When you're a fox.
You have the same amount of hit points.
Is it?
Okay.
Ah!
Listen, I'm endlessly entertained by like your antics.
Zephyr is not, you cannot have eight hit points.
I think, I'm so confused.
Kitsune mechanics, oh mechanics. Oh, I see.
All right. So prepared as always.
I'm reading.
I'm doing reading.
You're a Dark Fields Kitsune.
Yeah. So the last line of that says
your alternate form is a fox, which has the
statistics of first level pest form.
Yeah. Right.
Click on that.
There's a remastered version.
We'll click on that.
Yikes. It's not good. No, you
can't make strikes. And your AC is 15 plus for your level. Ignore your whatever. So your
AC is 18. Your speed is 20. You have weakness five to physical damage. I was confused because
I didn't realize I thought it was, change shape, like animal form.
Like I just have that, I didn't realize it was this,
very specific, it's specific for the Darkfield's Kitsune,
that you have to be level one pest form, that's what it is.
Yeah, remember this happened when Talitha
went through the Jonski, I gave her
that sort of pest form-y ability.
She got the cat.
So yeah, we went over this board,
but this is really, really bad.
When you turned to a fox, I was like, oh, fun.
But then when you walked in the room, I'm like, oh, bad idea.
So let's get to damage town.
This thing might just straight up kill you.
It's going to take five extra damage every time it hits you.
I made a mistake.
So it was a 21 to hit.
And then let's get to damage.
10 plus five, since you're weak to it,
15 points of slashing damage.
And then with its final action,
it has to swing at you again.
And misses, actually, with a 16 with the map.
So very, very lucky there.
This comes down, boom!
Now it is the Lance Elf Skeleton in the back's turn.
The Lance Elf Skeleton in the back is going to slide 25 feet right up to Barnes, charging
with the Lance Flavor Charge and is going to, actually, got a reach with that Lance I'm gonna stay back one and
only move 20 feet
Because I can just hit you from there and then make you move here comes the Lance I lost my d20 here it is
No
Sorry you gotta stop lying it's I have no... You gotta start lying.
It is not... It's not good for me to keep rolling these, but... No. It's bad for everyone.
It's another natural 20.
Yikes! And it always happens to poor Barnes. I mean, this is... A lance like this has killed characters in the past
Okay, let's get down to business. What do you think max?
Big max damage not gonna play with this max damage. Oh my god eight on a d8. Can you see over to my little?
Holy make me sick
And it has a deadly quality
Your face makes me nauseous. All right, so you're gonna take,
it's gonna be 24 points of damage
plus another D8 for deadly, which is three,
so 27 points of damage.
Wow. Oh boy.
Yeesh.
That was its second action.
With its third action, it will stab at Asta.
Wait, can it stab at me,
because it's only five feet away?
Or not even?
Reach weapon, let's read it.
Reach weapons with this trait are long
and can be used to attack creatures up to 10 feet away
instead of only adjacent creatures.
But luckily it missed with a natural two.
So boom, boom, and now it is Zephyr's turn.
Oh my god.
Help me.
Jeez.
Help me.
Snow.
So the dangerous thing for our-
Got any bottle caps over there?
No, I used it.
You used it.
I used it.
Oh no, I forgot.
The other dangerous-
To kill an almost dead creature.
The other dangerous thing about this room
is that there's a bottleneck.
It's a bottleneck
Can't use my bow really because I'm I'm gonna be shooting through to
My allies respect the pillars you could delay and there's a pillar pillar right there
We'll get out of your way but if I delay there's one more that can go probably before a lot of you can go because
A lot of you can always say I take my turn
Well on the plus side when it kills me, I'll go down and I won't provide cover fun
Um, I just don't want to run into the room with my bow out. It's not gonna do anything
Really matter cuz you could like run into the room with your bow out if just do unarmed strikes. I know but I
But I guess I could yeah. I have my bow out.
There's part of me in my brain which is kind of like that's silly. Okay. But okay.
You're right that's the silly. Let's let Asta die. Alright here here here's what
I'm gonna do. I think it's actually new idea to have a bow in your hand, beating people to death
with a fucking melee weapon.
Unique idea, never been heard before.
Listening.
I'm gonna run up through my allies to the Lance Bass.
Okay, right in front of a wounded Barnes as a Lance Hole.
I'm running up to Lance Bass and I'm going to Flurry of Blows with my fists.
Fist and leg, perhaps.
Yeah.
A punch and a kick.
Lance and one hand shield by its side.
We'll see how this goes.
Let's see, my fists.
It's a 19 for the first one.
Hit.
There we go.
And then the second one.
Should've raised that shield.
Shit, the second one's an eight, so that doesn't hit.
So give me a fortitude save, please
fortitude save okay
Yeah, but I'll make sure
23 yeah, that that's fine, so you're not stunned
Damn it, and you take four points of damage minimum damage from
My kick that's the other thing that always hurts, is that you roll max damage.
Maximum, minimum.
And we always roll minimum.
And then, with my last action.
Misplay it.
I'm going to move.
It's never happened when I play it.
I'm going to move 35 feet away.
There we go.
Holy smokes.
Is that 35 feet?
This is 35 feet.
OK.
As you move away, it uses an attack of opportunity.
Does it?
Stab you.
Well, let's see if it does.
20 to hit.
Miss.
Oh!
You think you can hit Zephyr with her AC?
All right, so it goes to stab you and you're too quick.
You get out of the way.
Asta's turn.
Surrounded by two of them.
Oh, thank God, all right.
One turn, I dismiss my fox form.
The one that I was fighting already used its A.O.O.
Yeah.
Does the other one have an A.O.O.?
Probably.
I mean, I think I need to stay where I am.
I don't think I can move.
No, but I think dismissing.
Do we know?
Oh. It does not have the manipulator. No, but I think it's missing. Do we know? Oh, if it does not have the manipulator.
Oh, okay.
Chain shape does not.
Okay, so I am going to stab and Spellstrike
at, I guess just the one directly north of me
who first attacked me, who did all the big damn zoning.
And I'm going to cast Gouting Claw alongside it.
Let's go.
So I didn't hit.
Oh man.
On that one, I'm gonna, for my third action,
I'm just gonna attack.
Natural 19, so that's a 19.
Okay, what's the totes?
It's a 19, because I added them.
Wait, you don't have an attack.
You don't have an attack. You don't have an attack.
You changed shape. Oh, you're right. You changed shape. It's spell strike. I totally forgot that I did. Yep.
Also, do you have a spell that does bludgeoning damage?
Does bludgeoning? I don't. Any of your cantrips? Is it just slashing?
So I can check. Anyway, look into it because that might make a difference against skeletons.
Yeah, you kicked so you did bludgeoning damage, but. Nice.
Interesting.
Yeah, your slashing might get reduced.
Okay, it's my turn.
It's Buggles' turn.
Buggles, you're in the biggity back.
Okay, Buggles is going to focus
his little football-shaped brain,
and the heat of the metal armor
that the skeleton
closes to him, starts to heat to a red hot searing
temperature, give me a reflex save.
Nice.
Reflex save.
15.
That's a fail.
Nice!
Spoggles.
Nice.
Needed that.
Needed that.
Okay, that is 14 points of fire damage.
Okay, you can tell immediately not all of that goes through,
but it does hurt him.
Rarrr!
Emulates it.
Ah, just burns the bones.
And then he is going to raise a shield with his third action.
Choon, raise shield.
For the Ramius, the undead.
Have you fought the undead before in your life? I don't think he has yeah. Trained for it.
I just rolled another natural toy. Maybe not so much. Stop it. Bonds we need you! He's going to do
battle medicine on Barnes and will succeed and You get nine points of healing Oh Batman, and then he will cast. Thank you brother. Maybe two action heal on Barnes
for
Sorry, this is a lot
27 okay that gets me back up to full nice. That's his round
Okay, did you pots we need you and he just fills you with all this energy, and...
We're very close to done for the day on you.
Okay.
F-Y-I.
F-Y-Y-I.
Hi.
Uh, where did Zephyr go? I lost her.
Oh, way up there?
That's exactly the point.
You don't see me.
No, I mean, you're good.
I'm so far away.
Damn, you're good.
Um...
Behind a pillar.
Respect the pillars.
Respect the pillars? Uh, alright. I gotta attack far away. Damn, you're good. Behind a pillar. Respect the pillars. Respect the pillars.
Alright, I gotta attack Barnes then.
So that one is, the La Shunta there is gonna slide around, come at Barnes, and swing its
longsword natural one.
Oh, see?
Dice giveth, the dice taketh away.
See?
What's its name?
That's why I don't complain when you roll one.
Doesn't matter. Just go both ways. Yeah, just go both ways. They tend to give to Troy rather than take away. See? What's its name? That's why I don't complain when you roll one. Doesn't matter, doesn't matter. It just goes both ways.
Yeah, goes both ways.
They tend to give to Troy rather than take away.
I get a lot of give.
Was this the one that I cast the spell on?
No, this was the one in the back that hadn't gone yet.
You cast the one on the Lancer.
Or most one, yeah.
Remind me when its turn comes up, please.
The Lancer?
Okay.
Should I put something on it, like, is it burning?
Yeah.
A little thing.
Yeah.
Whatever you want.
Okay, this one from Damien in Tilden, Victoria, Australia.
Oh, hello.
An international edition, thank you Damien.
Apologies for my accent.
This one is called, Action Required.
You are about to be double hit.
Like an overenthusiastic subscriber, you have
overextended yourself and tried to hit too many times. You have to right yourself with
a reflex save. Get a reflex save, the DC would be Barnes's Class C or Class DC.
23.
I believe that is my Class DC, right, for level 3?
No, I believe it's lower than that.
Lower than that?
Yeah, so success, you're fine. Okay, no other negative effect.
If you would have failed, you get an attack on.
Ah.
Got it.
Okay, last action, I'll raise my shield.
But was that an action?
Is that why it's called action required?
Action required, yes.
So I took him in action,
well, took him in action to do the reflex save?
No, no, I don't know.
Something, he needed to roll.
Had I failed, something would have happened.
Yeah.
All right, my last action, I'll raise my shield.
Okay.
And now it's Barnes' turn.
All right, we're in an interesting situation here.
Well, I have to...
Ah!
Hear his drink.
Pfft.
Pfft.
Pfft.
All right, Barnes...
Oh.
All right, Barnes will activate the mirror,
boom, and he will flank the one that just attacked him.
So he'll end up right there in that square to the northwest.
You wanna provoke?
Oh right, I am provoking.
Let's see what the...
Is triggering that ability.
That's what I'm gonna look at.
Mirror's reflection has the manipulate trait.
Ah! No, he already went. He used his AOA. No he didn't. The lance guy did. That's what I'm gonna look at. Mirror's Reflection has the manipulate trait. Uhhh.
No, he already went. He used his AOA.
No he didn't.
Lance guy did. The one that just stepped up to you has it.
Oh right. This was part of my calculation.
That's what it was.
Wanna help you guys out?
Yeah, I'll risk it.
Okay. For the biscuit?
Yeah.
Alright. Here comes the Lance. What do you think?
Sword. He doesn't have a lance.
Excuse me. Sword, you think I got another natural 20 on me?
Yes.
No. 23 though. It does hit. What do you think sword isn't that blind excuse me? So are you thinking another natural 20? Yes. No
23 though, it does it okay
He hits you with the a o o but you're burning those a o o's which is good for the rest of your party and you take
Max damage 12 points of slashing. Okay, this only have eights on it
Okay Okay, this only evades on it Okay
Okay, so
Barnes is not going to exploit vulnerability yet as though even though it would help but I need got something else
Wait, do you appear on the other side of him? Yes
Okay, and then I will strike at you with the Kukri.
Strike at thee!
For, with a 19.
Alright, so is he considered flanking off guard?
Yes.
Alright, so he raised his shield. The off guard would negate that making a 19 hit exactly.
Okay, great. Okay, max damage. So that's going to be 11 points of damage, but it is slashing, so I imagine there's gonna be some reduction there.
Sure is. Nice, balsamic glaze reduction.
And then third action, I will move.
Okay.
That I'm gonna flank up to the western side of the room.
Like in the west? Okay.
Let me just make sure.
Breezy.
Yeah, okay. So Zephyr is flanked up to the east,
Barnes flanks up to the northwestern corner.
Okay, flank your way up to the northwestern corner.
There's this very pungent smell in the air
coming from the northern corridor.
You feel all these little breezes coming down
with a very pungent smell on the wind.
We go to the top of round two.
That Barnes to the south disappears We go to the top of round two.
That Barnes to the south disappears.
Barnes to the south disappears?
Oh, I liked him.
Where Zephyr is, she can see the tiniest sliver
into that room up there.
And I just see lots of colors.
Oh no.
Why did you leave us?
Spuckles and I?
Osta can defend you. No, she can.
She is going down this round.
I'm going to die.
Well, we need to open up the room,
otherwise we're gonna die in that bottleneck.
All of us will die.
No, just you.
I can keep you up.
You said you had no more heals.
I said I was running low.
And you battle medicine me.
All right, this guy slides up to Zephyr.
He's got a long sword. Second action, he's going to swing the long sword to Zephyr. He's got a longsword.
Second action, he's going to swing the longsword at Zephyr.
Another natural one.
Whoa!
Kill him. Kill him.
That's what we need.
Remember these. Remember the ones. Everybody remembers the 20s.
Nobody remembers the ones!
Ran out of water.
Oh my gosh.
Crit, he drops dead.
Self-decapitation.
You want me to read the title of this one, Joe?
Just so we understand the clarity of it?
Sure.
Zach from Astoria.
Astoria, Queens?
Zach from Astoria, New York.
I'll read it first and then have Joe read it so we'll get the joke.
Crowns Museum of Crayons and Watercolors.
Crowns Museum of Cray and watercolor. Crowns Museum of crowns and water.
One more time, one more time.
Crowns Museum of crowns and water.
Amazing.
Your attack misses, roll another reflex save.
How can we keep getting out of these with reflex saves?
25. God damn it!
Fucking skeletons.
God, I've never seen so many who would give with reflex saves. 25. God damn it! Fucking skeletons! God I've never seen so many
with give you reflex saves. Ray Shield and then it is the Lance skeletons turn standing right next to
Asta. It will swing or stab down with its Lance at you. 17. Miss. Okay, miss. I will do it again. Natural 20.
Natural 20.
Oh, 20 has the map.
20, I mean, in the last two episodes,
five or six natural 20s.
Let's go, Brad.
Stop it.
Don't play.
Don't play.
No one remembers the ones.
Two natural 20s in a row.
Here we go.
Why am I rolling?
It doesn't even matter.
Here we go.
It still hits, right?
16 points of Piercing.
It hits with the map, right?
Yes, that was... well, 25.
Yes.
16 points of... well, you know what? Just hold on. I'll give you the extra Deadly DA.
The Lance has the Deadly trait.
I'm gonna die.
Only one.
Alright, so 17 Piercing altogether.
Third action, Raise Shield. So all three of them have their shields raised.
Ah!
And it is Zephyr's turn.
Still up.
Wait.
Still up.
Wait.
Oh yes, this is the one, I'm sorry.
Kill him.
So his armor is still glowing red.
Classic.
Nine more points of fire damage.
Okay.
Awesome, cuts right through those resistances.
Nope.
That's a DC 15 flat check.
Okay, let's see if I get rid of it.
13, so he's still cookin'.
Okay, now it is Zephyr's turn.
Zephyr, you are standing toe to toe.
You are cornered by this thing.
Clackity clackity clack.
I was gonna try to hit with my bow, but they have AOOs.
Do you think I would know if they would have an AOO
if they have their shield up?
Like would that negate it at all?
It doesn't typically.
Yeah, so if they use their AOO on you,
then they can't do a shield block,
but they still have the bonus to AC.
All right.
If that's the case,
gonna four go using my bow
and hit the baddie that's right in front of me
with a flurry of blows, again, with a fist and a leg.
Okay. See how that goes.
Okay.
Okay.
Yep.
Natural 18 on the first one.
There we go.
27 on the first one.
You're on fire. I know. You have not been cursed. I told you the first one. 27. Yeah, on the first one. You're on fire. I know you have not been cursed.
Told you the curse has been passed.
Next one is
19 to hit but you got your shield up. Yeah. So alright, so fortitude save, please. Fortitude save.
Is it immune?
Maybe not. We always get this wrong.
What you save is a 14.
That's a fail.
It is immune to a lot of different things, but stunned
specifically is not one of them.
So this one is stunned.
Stunned one, and it's gonna
take 8 points of damage
from my
big old kick.
Kick so that's blood okay. Are you gonna shield block? Oh is that how that works if
it's bludgeoning? Yeah you know what? You can just use it shield block to negate the damage. Yeah I'm gonna I'm gonna use my thank you Joe
but I was going to do this anyways because then that uses up its AOL so if you wanted to
get out of there you can get out. Yeah I want to move now. Yeah, so I'm gonna... Actually.
I just want to make sure I do this right, because of the break threshold and whatnot.
So eight points of damage I will transfer to the shield and it doesn't get past its
break threshold.
It would be its hardness.
It's hardness.
It's hardness.
Oh yeah, so...
Its hardness has to be lower than eight.
Yeah, hardness is five, so three points go towards the break threshold.
It takes...
Yes, so it takes three points of damage
and he takes three points of damage.
Five.
It's split, yeah.
Yeah, so whatever goes through goes to both him
and the shield.
Okay.
Oh, I see.
Yeah, he like, he halves the damage,
but the shield takes some of it too
and the shield eventually will become useless.
But right now it's not.
Yeah.
I have a feeling this guy isn't gonna live longer
than his shield.
This encounter.
Well, he is stunned, and you have one action left.
Or two actions. No, I've got two actions left.
I want to move.
I'm going to move away from it right now.
Okay.
You smell this.
I smell and I see, way more than before.
And I wanna try to do a knowledge check on,
are they weak to anything?
OK, give me a...
Or no.
Religion would be the best.
I don't want to, I want to do knowledge.
I want to do an aid on who is next.
Asta's next.
Here, Asta's next.
I want to try to aid Asta.
But you went down, didn't you?
No, she's not down.
She stayed up.
She's barely up. I want to eat Asa at her next hit.
Look at those muscles.
Barely.
Okay, it's Asa's turn.
Asa's standing toe to toe with a shield-wielding, elf-like, lance-holding skeleton.
Okay, she kind of looks towards Ramius to see if Ramius is looking at her at all to maybe give him the high sign to potentially heal her.
What are you doing in there?
Get out of there!
I so hurt.
Get out!
I so hurt.
You can't move with the AOOs.
So I am going to recharge my spell strike one action,
and then I'm gonna cast a first level spell
and just go balls to the wall.
Go ham, as they say.
Go ham.
You aid?
Do you aid?
Yeah, right.
You want me to, right? Yes, yes. Natural 17. Oh my god, aid? Do you aid? Yeah, right?
You want me to, right?
Yes, yes.
Natural 17.
Oh my God, is that a good deal?
What am I rolling?
What you got?
What are you rolling?
Perception.
Did you get a perception?
Perception, probably.
Yeah, so then that's a 24.
Oh, one off.
Plus one.
Now, did that, when you're using Spellstrike,
that doesn't use the Manipulate trait to cast that spell?
It does.
It does.
Okay, so I'm gonna take the eight.
Oh, shit.
And if I crit, you lose.
All right, wait, wait, wait, wait, hold on.
That's why I was making looks at you.
No, no, wait.
You're gonna make a looks at Sydney.
What are you looking at me for?
Can I change what I do?
Or hands off the chest, please?
I already rolled my eight.
Oh, that's it then.
She goes down, that totally changes the-
And you said you charged.
You did. 16.
16? Miss.
Oh, great.
Yeah.
Great. Everyone forgets the 16. I'm getting so sweaty great everyone forgets the
The two hits haven't been that high he's rolling natural toys we make these guys seem invincible
Yeah, these guys are not that bad. Yeah, but they
My hands are sweaty and my dice know when I'm getting nervous and then they roll bad. All right, let's see
It's so rude like horses. It's not your fear. That's gonna be a 29.
Oh that's a hit not a crit. Nice. All right so then that's... Wait wait wait.
Because of the shield. The shield is not raised. The shield is still raised. This one did raise the shield.
So it gets to keep it even with the AOL. Really? I don't get to use shield block.
You're right. I think I even just said that otherwise it would have been just alright, so first
That's gonna be nine points of damage kind of damage slashing with my sword. It's a knot wait It's just cast on it first. It's my damage with my sword now my first level spell. I cast was hydraulic push
That's gonna be 3d6 bludge. Nice. Five, oh.
14 points of damage, bludgeoning.
You hit it with your, what do you have again, a scimitar?
My katana.
Katana, so you hit it with a katana,
it doesn't really do the full damage,
it just kinda glares at you,
it's bony teeth almost smiling,
and then boom, you hit it with a hydraulic push
and the bones explode.
Yeah!
Shatters across the floor.
I did it!
Hell yeah!
Clack, clack, clack, clack, clack, clack.
And that's all three.
I can't move away or anything, but at least I killed it.
Yeah.
All right, one down, two to go.
Buggles.
All right, Buggles is gonna slide into the room.
So this one that's left, he's the one that's still burning.
The one that was burning is the one that just went down.
Okay, perfect.
All right, so he is going to manifest his aura.
The Kula Khan emerges and shah, Frostbite,
please give me a fortitude save.
Fortitude save, very high.
Might be a critical, let's see, 25.
Not a crit, so that's...
Ooh.
That is, wow, that's 20, with the save,
that's 10 points of cold damage.
Okay, and similar to the fire,
you notice it does not all go through.
And that's really important for all of you to notice that.
Okay.
And that's it for me.
All right, so Buckle steps up,
boom, hits this guy with cold.
So either the fire or the frost goes through.
Brother Ramius.
God.
Brother Bramius.
Yeah, it just kills me.
I'd love to use the vitality damage to just go right through and really hurt these guys,
but I can't afford it with how hurt everybody is.
All right, he's going to cast Heal on Asta.
Garbage roll.
22 points of healing.
That is awesome regardless.
Thank you.
Yeah, it's better than nothing.
Oh man.
And then he's going to move up behind Asta,
say, one more, down there.
Oh, and then the other one in the back.
Oh, get that one.
And he's gonna use Asta as a shield and get behind her.
Okay, you leave there,
and it is now the one that Buggles just hits turn and it moves to Buggles.
No!
And it swings its longsword at Buggles.
Come look at my dice.
Get the shit out of here!
Just tell me the results!
It's an obviously weighted die.
Stop doing this stuff and just tell me what happens
Don't film it
Pen on you if you don't
You're gonna marry Madonna, yes
And I'm gonna ruin my career shooting I am you leave the US He was a Tari's chaplain? Francis is out of control over here.
I mean, this is, I mean, it's precedented.
I think of that Starfinder episode.
Yeah, the Starfinder episode.
This is insanity.
The famous, the infamous.
It's Norse Foundry.
Buy your choice set.
You can't, they're all sold out.
Here we go.
Four hit.
Good thing.
Max damage.
An eight on a D8 again.
I have, it is not in my best interest to do this.
24 points of slashing damage.
Just, shh!
Second attack also on Buggles with the map.
12 to hit.
Okay, that's a mess.
Good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good.
Good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good.
This not being in your best interest is really thrown off by your unbridled excitement
and celebration.
I hate this you guys, I swear.
The calling over of Matt.
I really don't want this to happen.
Trust me, I'm not happy.
This is horrible.
This isn't good for me.
I hate this so much.
20s and 8s, 20s and 8s, 20s and 8s, Barnes.
Okay, I'm going to go with the 20s and 8s.
I'm going to go with the 20s and 8s.
I'm going to go with the 20s and 8s.
I'm going to go with the 20s and 8s.
I'm going to go with the 20s and 8s.
I'm going to go with the 20s and 8s.
I'm going to go with the 20s and 8s. I'm going to go with the 20s and 8s. I'm going to go with the 20s and 8s. I'm going to go with the 20s and 8s. I'm going to go with is horrible. This isn't good for me. I hate this so much. Uh, 20s and eights, 20s and eights, 20s and eights, Barnes.
Okay, uh.
20s and eights, 20s and eights, 20s and eights, Barnes.
I'm gonna exploit vulnerability.
I have none.
That's a fail.
So it's just gonna be personal.
I died.
Okay.
Nice try, buddy.
Barnes will enact the mirror
and he will appear right next to the skeleton
to the northeast.
Wow.
Yep, and he will strike with.
Oh, fuck!
Cool fucking ability.
I know. Passion.
19 to hit.
Shield is still raised. That's a miss.
Oh.
So crushing.
Oh, it's so crushing.
Ah, dude.
Oh, okay.
I'm gonna, I will move from the initial position
to dismiss this extra Barnes.
All right, so you'll be in the new position?
Yeah, or I'm over here on the west.
Okay, so that Barnes just disappeared, goes away.
Yeah.
He's just like boom, boom, yes, gone.
All right, top of round three, we're fighting Skellies.
This guy's stunned, so it only has one action
after he moves to either Zephyr, Barnes, or Raven.
Wait, is he stunned?
Does that mean he can't take his AOO?
No.
Yeah, he cannot take his AOO. Yeah, he can't, his a o o no that's yeah, he cannot take his yeah
You can't sure I'll still I'll handle sure
Okay, here we go
One two three four five six
Damn it. All right, it's a bird. He has only gets one attack. Yep. He's just don't come over to you
It's all he needs with a natural 20, dude.
Got the long sword.
It was tripping around, zipping and dipping.
15 misses.
Miss.
Nobody remembers the 15s.
And now it's no longer sun.
Zephyr.
Perfect.
Love the sound effects.
Perfect.
Zephyr. Come on, Zeph. Mo the sound effects. Perfect. Come on, Zeff. Zephyr moves.
Yeah.
Ritz.
Ritz to the other side of Barnes.
Yeah, there we go.
Up on this guy.
And she's gonna-
Shield's down.
Shield's down.
Going to Flurry of Blows.
Well, something's a little different this time.
You see her hand wraps glowing
because it's a key strike.
Flurry of Blows.
Oh nice.
I get a plus one to my attack.
She already killed one person with a key on this planet.
Yep.
Eww.
Eww.
Eww.
Eww.
Eww.
It's a god.
All right.
Vogel says that.
Check out Frances.
This episode is gonna write up Francis now.
Francis loves a good skin.
I wish he had like a Francis Cam and Mike.
Yes.
All right.
First one is going to be a plus nine.
So that's 22 for the first one.
Awesome.
22 and a inch.
And the second one.
What does key strike do?
Just a bonus to hit.
I got a plus one on my attack rolls
and my strike steal 1d6 extra damage in my type of choice.
Oh!
Wow!
Huge!
Force!
Each time I strike, force, lawful, negative, or positive.
The cold, the fire, the flashing?
Positive.
So I'm going to see if the second one hits.
Or bludge.
The second one is a 15 to hit.
So fortitude save please.
Ooh, I think I failed again.
Failed again.
Then you're stunned again.
Yeah, 14 stun.
Awesome.
So you're stunned again if you live.
Give me your sad damage.
And now I do six points of damage,
but five of that is going to be...
Should do positive.
Positive?
Yeah.
Or bludge.
Or bludge.
No, it's force.
It might be weak to positive.
Oh, you have to pick.
Yeah.
It's either force, lawful, negative, or positive.
I'd say positive.
Vitality.
They're undead.
Use the remastered terminology.
Oh, okay.
Vitality.
All right, so five points of that is positive.
Okay. It doesn't do any extra damage.
Was it weak to anything?
Weak to bludgeoning. Just tell you what that was. What is it weak to? Nothing.
How many? So what was the total damage? Six points total. Combination of bludgeoning and positive? Yep. Okay. Six points, but it is
stunned. Austin? Oh wait. Oh. I get one more thing to do.
Sorry.
Um, Barnes, would you like me to stay flanked?
Uh, if you don't mind.
Okay.
I can take care of it with me, uh...
You said that so casually to him in the heat of battle.
With my mirror.
Barnes?
Looking past the sky.
Looking past the sky.
Barnes, would you like me to stay flanked?
Barnes, would you like me to stay?
It's up to you.
I'm so sorry to bother you.
Well, does it make it you use an extra action that you don't want to use?
Yeah.
Okay, well, I'll stay flanked and I also want to aid you on your turn.
Well, I'll go after, well, here's the thing, it goes before I go.
So you might want to.
No, it doesn't.
I go last.
It moved up to you.
It just went and then I went.
Yeah. All right, stay flanked. All right, so you're going to stay flanked and you're up to you. It just went and I went. Yeah. Yeah. All right. That's a flank
All right, so you're gonna stay flanked and you're gonna aid. Asta
Asta. Asta. All right. We haven't figured anything out with electricity damage, correct?
It's gonna be bludgeoning. They're bludgeoning and positive. I don't have any of that
No, you've seen it not take all cold. You've seen it not take all fire. You've seen it not take all slashing
Skelly. We have not seen the effects of electricity. Yeah
Yeah, I'm gonna just to see what happens. I'm gonna do my one-action Fox fire
At range and shoot from my tail. Just an electric bolt out
Okay
Almost a 16, but it wasn't that has the manipulate yes
Yeah, but nobody's near me. He's got reach
Excuse me Lance guys down. Yeah, oh right that misses anyway, okay, so we'll never know
Electricity crackles on the back wall
Buggles wait wait wait one. Oh, I'm sorry
wall. Buggles! Wait, wait, wait. That's one action. Oh, I'm sorry. Keep it moving. What were you gonna say? You gotta recharge Spellstrike still, right? It's not charged.
It's not charged. So, uh. That's right though, the show would go a lot faster if we all only
had one action. Just quick, rapid fire, what do you do? You can do your thing.
My dimensional assault? Yeah. Yeah, I might as well. I might as well. I was thinking of doing that so dimensional assaults. I'm going to can't quite
flank with Buggles
So I'm just gonna move up to the skeleton though
In my dimensional assault okay, diagonal or straight down diagonal. Yep exactly
And I am going to attack it
All right, see what you got
That's gonna be 27 hit and I am going to attack it. All right, let's see what you got.
That's gonna be a 27 hit.
27 is a hit, you own it.
I should be able to move it.
Does that take the map?
Yeah.
But it was a 27. 22.
It's still a hit. 22.
Wait, it takes the map from my arranged.
You did Fox Fire. Fox Fire.
Yeah. Oh, really?
Fox Fire isn't an attacker.
Anything with the attack trait.
Oh, oh, okay, sorry, so 22. Yeah, okay. Sorry so 22. Yeah, it's you're still fun shield was up. I think still this guy I
Don't actually
Either way, that's it
That's gonna be six seven eight nine ten ten
Slashing slashing yeah, so
But now my thing is recharged so next time maybe I'll kill it. Hopefully we can unleash hell
Buggles well Buggles you're up this thing has not taken an a o keep that in mind and does he have reach?
No, he does not have okay, so I'm going to step back step back
step back step back
Should I say the cool icon does the?
Should I say the Kula Khan does the...
So can you do a five foot step anymore? Yes.
It's just called a step.
It's called a step and it does not provoke.
I thought he was attacking me.
No, I was just-
He was practicing his natural-
Rolling rocks for fun.
He's just been rolling the whole time.
And saying his numbers out loud.
To intimidate us.
He's like that guy in the scene in Boogie Nights
at the Alpha Milena scene who's just like
throwing caps at the ground.
Firecrackers. Firecrackers. Yeah, it's Firecrackers. Okay. He's like that guy in the scene in Boogie Nights at the offer Malena scenes who's just like throwing caps at the ground.
Firecrackers.
It's Parker.
Okay.
And I'm going to amp, my last amp point.
I'm gonna use focus point.
I'm going to do another ignition.
Snap!
That is a 21.
That is a hit with or without the shield.
Awesome.
That is, oh wow, that is 29, no 30 points of damage.
30 points of damage. 30 points of damage?
30 points of damage?
What?
Holy shit, that's such a far cry from what it's been before.
3d12 plus six.
Holy shit.
If I'm in melee. If you're in melee, yeah, that's right. far cry from what it's been before. It's 3D12 plus six. Holy shit. If I'm in melee.
If you're in melee, yeah, that's right.
It's a huge difference.
Whoa.
I get reach now when I amp it.
I get...
Oh, wow.
Wait, you mean within range?
I get, I have 10 feet of reach before melee with this.
So even with the DR, you just...
And fry it.
Nice! Nice!
Come on, Roy Mustang! We got this! Boom, boom, boom! Boom, boom, boom! Smoking bones laying on the ground. DR you just and fry it
Smoking bones laying on the ground there's one left brother Ramias. What do you do?
brother Ramias Well, you know I think we gotta we gotta try it because I'm not moving forward in this dungeon anyway without resting so
Go all out brother. He's gonna go all out brother he's gonna go all
out and try to do pure vitality damage sure let's go sleep with the shame
statues so he will reach out with a two action heal against this creature all
right you're gonna try and heal and that is a will save okay
Will save. Okay.
15.
Sorry.
Sorry, it's fortitude, so keep the roll,
but change it to fortitude.
What'd I say, 15?
All right, so it's gonna be a 16.
16, still a fail.
Terrific. Okay.
So you take 25 points of vitality.
Oh, no.
Wait, wait, wait, wait.
No.
Yes, 25.
Reach out your hand.
Draw this white light to sear with life energy, the energy of life.
You can still hear your brother calling your name and wonder if he is bones somewhere.
And boom, you blasted.
Yeah. And the kingdom come.
Wow.
And we'll see you next week.
Oh!
Oh!
Hell yeah.
We did it!
We did it, oh my God.
Teamwork.
Heart pounding.
