Now you sure enough see a pool of water. As three beings jump out at you, turtle-like creatures with bulging eyes, with heads indented in little pools of water. The adventure continues... ...now. Well, he had my new place. Your new place. CJ has been there. I've seen it on a Zoom. Yeah. Yeah. That counts. We dabbled in Airbnb in Philly.

We recorded some episodes, some very epic episodes. That's where a certain character died. Yes. Right. Met their. Was that Gorm? Would you stop? That could be anyone.

I was trying to be spoiler-free. Was it Gormley? Met their, what I like to say, timely end, not untimely. Rude. Rude. Rude. Really rude. They met their, what I like to say, timely end. Not untimely. Shooting what I've taken from Gary Vee. It's called Sawdust. He's just been shooting us like hanging out pre-show, shooting during the show, trying to pick up on some content that you otherwise might not be able to see. And I love it. Yeah. We are content machines.

That's what they say in the industry. I cried twice before we started recording. Yeah, and we weren't trying. We weren't turning it on because McD was here. What we were realizing is it's a shame because sometimes when we're like really mean to each other off air, it's so funny. Oh my God. And it's not recorded. And we never catch it.

And we never catch it. So yeah, hopefully we catch a little bit more of that. I will say it was really fun when everyone walked in and McD was like kind of by the door. And we all just came in and we were like, McD! What the fuck? I didn't know he was going to be here. That's always so exciting. I felt like I would never know this feeling,

but an NBA star when they walk out and like all the fans are like, you know, I just saw McD and I was like, yes! Yeah, it's great. I love it. I want to get to the point where the studio is three times the size. We have a live audience and a three piece band. And a three piece band, absolutely.

It's great. If we had like drums too, I know Skid has the best drops in the world, but just like the drum hit for, you know, the... Ba dum tch. Yeah. Or like the falling down the stairs. I don't know, something. We need to add more.

We should just keep adding more and more. We've definitely, we've had Jason Charles Miller has wanted to for a while open for us. Yeah. That would be awesome. That would be very cool. Jared's done some stand up to do pre-shows. I want to get to the point where the portion of Pathfinder takes up about 3% of the show. Yeah.

So like more band activities. We do like a round of an encounter, and then another 40 minutes of just like the band playing, roasting Sydney. And then it's just, we'll see you next week for round two. Special guests come on and like. There's a special talent show at one point for audience members, that takes up a big chunk of time.

Yeah, with the live audience involved. It's engagement. Yeah. It's engagement. You know, there's a limited audience for this stuff. That, unlimited, unlimited earning potential. People are watching this right now, just getting so angry. So mad.

Yeah. I mentioned to the guys, it hasn't started yet. I'm excited for when it will start, but I wanted to step out of my comfort zone. And I'm a performer. Don't do that. That's your first mistake. Lou and just like Ross and I went and saw their improv show at Gen Con. I was like, man, I really miss doing improv and sketch comedy. I did it a lot in college and then it doesn't pay. So I stopped doing it when I had to start working. So I stepped out of my comfort zone because this really scares me, but I signed up for a musical theater improv class at the Magnet Theater in New York City. I'm so proud of you.

Honestly, the- You said name one. Matthew applauded her and then questioned your authenticity. Assumed her enthusiasm was born out of some sort of fandom. I'm not a huge musical person. Your favorite composer? No, no, no. I really like the Hamilton sound.

Obviously, I listen to the Hamilton sound track a lot. I saw it. Good luck improvising at a Hamilton sound. No, I know. I know. Exactly. I saw it on Broadway. and I really like Wicked. I've seen that a few times.

And I- You know part of musical theater improv is improvising musical theater, like what it's like. Not just singing songs. I took my mom to see Escape from Margaritaville, which did not last long on Broadway. Is that a Jimmy Buffett musical? Yes.

Right, what? Well, they just trying to like leave Margaritaville on the Vegas strip. Kind of. That's the whole show? The Well, they're just trying to leave Margaritaville on the Vegas strip. Kind of. That's the whole show? The plot was pretty much they have to leave Margaritaville. You just walk out with a margarita. That might be a little plot heavy.

I like, I think I'm going to do OK. But it is a class, so I will learn. I'm sure I'll be learning a lot. And you get a grade? I do. I will get a grade. Really? Yeah, you have to improve, or you can't take the next class.

And then eventually- Oh, so you have to retake. Right. So it's pass fail. It's pass fail. And as I said, when she first told us, it was like, well, good thing it's free. I think you don't have to pay for this nonsense. Troy?

I mean, these people- Oh, let me guess. You may or may not pass to pay another $4,000 to do the second level. I really hope she gets it because it'd be such a shame if she wasn't able to take the next class that she would also have to pay for. It's only 300 bucks to test for your yellow belt.

I swear, if I just stop, if I just stop talking about it, don't bring it up. If it's just like, oh, the class ends soon and then I never mention it again, don't bring it up. If it's just like, oh the class ends soon and then I never mention it again, don't ask me if I pass or fail that class. But no, it'll be fun. We have a car ride coming up to Boston, should we do musical theater the whole way?

Oh wow. Oh my god please. Guess you need a new car to get there. I'm gonna take Troy's car, you guys have fun. Well it is important, we're mocking it, obviously, because it's stupid. But it's not stupid. It is important to constantly be improving your skill base. Skid, you took an improv class very early on in the glass can improv class.

I was doing like improv jam down at the pit. That's fun. My friend Dwayne, it's like we would do that. That was really fun. And I just like, and I've thought about like doing a class or like just doing it more just to like keep the would do that. And that was really fun. And I've thought about doing a class or just doing it more just to keep the muscles home. That's exactly it. Got to keep the muscles sharp.

Joe, what are you doing to keep your gaming muscles sharp? Dude, nothing. Performance muscles. And I've thought about this. I've thought pretty seriously about this. I applaud you for doing this because it is terrifying. And I could use improvement, like a great deal of improvement, in improv, specifically.

Just thinking on my feet, advancing a scene well, playing off of somebody well. And I just don't know how to do it. I've never been trained to do it. So I've thought about taking an improv class. And the number one reason that I don't do it. Well, there's two reasons. The number one reason is I have to pay to be embarrassed.

And then the number two reason is that I don't think that my Irish temper can handle it. Because I get very, very angry at myself when I suck in front of a bunch of people. You should see him at third base. I'll just be like, fuck this, and walk out of the room. I suck. I suck.

The best part is everyone else is trying to yes and no. Right, exactly. And everybody else that's going to be there, it's probably all sensitive, actor-y theater people that are going to be like, oh my god. Oh my god. And then I'm going to see their sad eyes looking at me with pity, and I'm going to be like, don't look at my face!

So I've already played this whole thing out. And for them, for them, I'm not gonna sign up. Maybe I'll suggest therapy first? Yeah, maybe. Not a bad idea. Yeah. Not a bad idea. And then improv.

And then improv. Yeah, that's the order of operations. A two pronged attack. I do love the image of you like halfway through a scene and just going, fuck! Yes, I should have said this. Exactly. It's Stop fucking working! Exactly!

Exactly! When we saw... I won't even hit it! I believe you just do that all the time. I don't think it's something you do. When we saw Ross and Mary Lou and friends doing it at Gen Con, I was so blown away. I mean, I know people that are good at improv are going to be good at improv, but I was still just blown away at the smoothness with which things were happening.

And so I had to go up afterwards and talk to them and just be like, what did you talk about beforehand? And just in terms of the structure of like, when a scene starts or when a scene ends or who starts a scene or whatever, you know what I mean? They're just like, no, it's just all kind of made up. What? Like every aspect of it, even the logistics are made up. It's, it was wild. Well, it's hard too, like when your friends and associates are that good at it. Yeah. And it's like, you can't compare yourself to them.

Like I don't sit here. Exactly. I don't sit here being like, you know what? I'd really like to play for the Phillies. I should go to a baseball class. Because I love watching the Phillies. That's a good thing. It's never going to happen, no matter how much heart I have.

It's not going to happen. And so yeah, but I like this therapy idea. It's sort of like similar to your first class. Similar to your first class, I have to pass therapy before I can do the intro to improv. You can get a grade from the therapist. I had to get a pass fail from the new therapist. Actually, that's true.

When you sign up for an improv class, it's like, do you have a note from a therapist? Your note from a therapist is clearing you. That's a big part of the process. Are you therapeutically cleared to do this? Yeah, you're therapeutically cleared to take this class. You need a prescription to do this. The sincerity with which you said,

I like this therapy idea. Like, there's a concept that just came up yesterday. Just heard of it. It's a concept that just came up yesterday. Just heard of it. It's a new fad. Oh, god. Yeah, therapy is just not in the world that I live in, slash grew up in.

I imagine the Jaguars are like, not another home game. The only professional sports team that would rather play away. Well, we are going to play a home game today. Actually, it's kind of an away game for the players. You're playing on the back of a demigod. You have cleared the offering spire. You have brought forth the offering of various fruits and fungus and you have blown the spore horn. Very eagerly blew the shit out of that spore horn. The jungle itself. He went to town on it. The the jungle itself seemed to come to life and you see this being, this sort of like kaiju

come out of the jungle, made of the jungle itself. Her back so high that there are like glaciers atop of it and a valley of trees and dense forest underneath. She stops, opens up her mouth and all these creatures fly off of her, grab the offerings, throw it into her mouth, but as I said, she's kind of faced away from you, and so you've got to make a jump. And so you have your most acrobatic players do this, acrobatic characters, Asta and Zephyr,

and they both fail the acrobatics check, and then fail the reflex save to grab an edge. Fall 60 feet, departed, boom! As Ramius is down there talking to the elves. And time is of the essence now. So you all scramble back up there. Finally someone gets across, throw a rope, get across there, the rope snaps,

and she begins to walk away. And you start walking down her spine. You see in the distance, atop her head, a glistening. It looks like the headwaters that you need to collect are, not surprisingly, atop her head. It's like a circle of trees surrounding what must be a fountain, a lake, who knows? So you start making your way across after some healing

and then I have you roll some perception checks and some of you see these creatures emerge. Multi-colored, yellow, purple, red, turtle-like creatures with indentations on their head full of water and... their head full of water and... Where's my bottle cap at? Oh, it's here? Oh, thank you, Skid. I don't know why I had it. Well, you should have had it because...

I almost got away with it too. When I was describing She Who Walks Through Seasons in the headwaters, Skid, you were like, oh, like a kappa, and you will be fighting some kappa today. Yeah! Oh! So I got a bottle Kappa. We are fighting. Are we opening with a fight?

Ooh. Cool, wow. All right. Well, let's fight some turtles. There is a yellow one, a blue one, and a red one. These guys are funny. These are like this big demigods, like rowdy teenage sons

You'll see that there are some trees Mostly on the outskirts, but some right where you guys are standing if you want to move about the trees. It's difficult to rate okay, otherwise guys are standing. If you want to move about the trees, it's difficult to read. Okay. Otherwise, play, play it as it lies. It is a blue cap is turned blue. Kappa is going to, uh, let's see, Leonardo. This is Leo. Leo is going to, um,

it's going to move through the red Kappa. And you notice that all of their arms, like one of their little paws is like just barely peeking out of the shell, whereas their other arm is like crazy long. And so with that elongated reach for its second action, it attacks Asta with this like 10 foot long arm. What the? What the? Indeed here comes a claw, crack die, poop. Nice. 14. Miss. Nice. Switching die, second

attack, natty 19 that's gonna be a 26. That hits. Let me get my d10 for the damage that it's going to dole out to you And that is going to be a total of 11 points of slashing damage And you just hear like they're communicating with you almost telepathically and you hear a word that Sounds like some sort of what is a polyglot? Is that when like multiple languages seem to come together? So you speak when you can speak multiple all right, come together? It's when you speak multiple languages. Alright, so what is it called when there's like a pigeon? Pigeon. So you hear this sort of pigeon-y type language of multiple languages that sounds like they're calling you trespassers. Mm-hmm.
