In today's economy, saving money is like an extreme sport.
Coupon clipping.
Robo code searching.
It takes skill.

This week on the Glass Cannon Podcast.
Talk about a TPK on the edge of a TPK.
Oh, God.
After retreating in defeat.
I don't think we've ever done this before.
No, we never have.
We never run from a fight.
And leaving an ally behind.
I'm feeling super guilty.
And a little
lonely. The party must find
a way to continue the
fight. Let me ask you this.
So, you're gonna
go back in, right? Knowing
the risks. Well, I have good news.
And I have terrible news.
They will defeat the horrors within the risks. Well, I have good news and I have terrible news. They will defeat the
horrors within the mountain.
This is so bad!
These things are
no joke!
Or die trying.
No! No!
No!
No!
The adventure continues now. If you're the type of person that tends to skip these intros,
first of all, I am personally offended.
How dare you? How dare you, sir or madam?
But second of all, if you are that type of person,
you do not want to skip this one.
I have a ton of information to drop.
I have a huge announcement.
I have lots of huge announcements,
but I'm saving the biggest one for last,
just to force you to listen to my voice
for a couple more minutes.
So I'm just going to jump right in
because we have a lot to talk about
before we get to another juicy ep of the GCP.
Oh, by the way,
if you're just joining us for the first time,
my name's Troy LaVallee.
Nice to meet you.
Guys, you've been wondering
when the Pathfinder playtest is coming
back. Well, how about this Friday night?
That's right, November 16th, 8pm Eastern.
We're going live on Twitch with the finale
to Part 5, The Heroes
of Undarin. We started it
weeks ago, and only this week can
we finish it. I don't think Ari's going to be able to join
us, but I will find a suitable
replacement to finish this. We've just been so slammed
lately with the holidays coming up.
We want to make sure we get all our episodes of the GCP,
Androids and Aliens, and Ruins of Aslan out.
So we've had to kind of push the playtest back.
But we're finishing part five this Friday.
And then we're doing part six and seven sometime in January.
So get excited.
Join us this Friday night.
I feel like I haven't seen you guys in a while.
Come hang out.
Have a couple beers.
And watch me attempt to totally wipe out the party.
That's my goal.
I'm not going to pull any punches here.
My goal Friday night is a total party kill.
So you don't want to miss it.
Next order of business.
T-shirts.
As Matthew mentioned last week, we have two fancy new T-shirts.
A Nestor coin T-shirt and a Lork Iron Tusk T-shirt.
I am extending the deadline to purchase it till tonight at midnight. That's
right. Tuesday, November 13th at midnight. If you haven't purchased one by then, you're probably not
going to be able to get one because we're only ordering a limited quantity. There'll be a couple
extras, but pretty much if you want to guarantee that you get your size and your style, you need
to order it today by midnight, November 13th, Tuesday. When I say today, I'm talking on East Coast time
because that's when I'm recording this. And if you don't buy it then, you might not get it. And if
you're one of our Patreon subscribers at the $25 tier and up, those Gormley t-shirts are arriving
this week and shipping out this weekend. So get excited because that shirt is badass. Speaking of
Patreon subscribers, this weekend, all of our $5 plus subscribers got to
see an advanced viewing of our Glass Cannon live show in LA, where we played the first session of
Strange Aeons. Listen, I don't want to brag, but I think it is one of the best three episodes we've
ever recorded. I had a blast editing it. I was still laughing at the same jokes over and over
again. You just have to watch it for
yourself. And if you're not one of our subscribers, you're going to get to see it today, the 13th of
November at noon. We're going to release it to everyone because if you're coming to see us at
PAX Unplugged, then you need to be caught up on the story. Speaking of PAX Unplugged, this is
really flowing nicely. I didn't plan this. Speaking of PAX Unplugged, we're coming. We've told you the
last few weeks in the intro, Saturday, December 1st, Leviathan Theater, PAX Unplugged, 9 p.m., session two of Strange Aeons
live. All you need is a pass to PAX Unplugged, and you can come watch us for free. And Eric Mona,
the CCO and publisher of Paizo, is going to be there to play with us. I mean, I'm telling you,
watch this video if you haven't already, and you'll see why we are so excited for Session 2.
Also, if you're coming to PAX Unplugged, the night before, Friday, November 30th,
we're going to Yard's Brewing Company for a little meet-and-greet.
Because we love brewing companies, and we love meet-and-greets.
I think it's like a five-minute Uber from the convention center.
So if you're staying in that area, you could probably even walk over there,
or just grab a couple buddies from GCP Nesh, hop an Uber, or a Lyft, depending on what you like.
Maybe you're a Lyft person. I'm an Uber person. That's just me. And just head on over to Yards
Brewery, 7 p.m. We're going to be there until they politely ask us to never come back. So come on by.
Make sure you come, because we're all going to be there. The whole gang, Grant and Skid and Matthew,
are leaving New York right around rush hour, but they guaranteed they're going to be there. The whole gang, Grant and Skid and Matthew, are leaving New York right around rush hour, but they guaranteed they're going to be there. So I'm going to be watching them. If they come in at 7.01,
they're off the show. That's it. You heard it here. They are off the show if they come in past 7.01.
But Joe and I will be there, and we'll eventually all be there. So please come out to that meet and
greet and say hello. All right. All right. You've stuck with me this far. You've earned it. I'm
going to give you the huge
announcement right now. And I think it's pretty huge. I don't even know how to jump into this.
So I'm just going to jump right in. You guys know that we started the Strange Aeons new Glass
Cannon Live experience in Los Angeles this past October. You know that we're coming to PAX Unplugged in just a few weeks for session number two.
But I kept throwing around the words U.S. tour.
That's hardly a U.S. tour, Troy, just two cities.
L.A. and Philly? They're not even great cities.
No, I'm just kidding, they're pretty great.
They're no Boston, but they're all right.
But Troy, you said U.S. tour.
That usually means lots of cities.
Well, you know what, stranger talking to me out of place, you're totally correct. So I am going to announce right now the first five dates and
cities for our upcoming U.S. tour in 2019. I'm announcing it right now. And then tomorrow,
I want you to go to the website. I want you to go to glasscanonpodcast.com, and you're going to
want to get there early and often. I'm going to be announcing the website. I want you to go to glasscanonpodcast.com and you're going to want to get there early and often.
I'm going to be announcing the exact venues
of where these shows are going to be happening
and there's going to be a link to buy tickets.
And let me tell you right now,
if you want to buy tickets to these events,
you should buy it tomorrow.
You should buy it tomorrow,
especially if you want one of the very limited VIP tickets
because there's only going to be 75 VIP tickets per show.
What's a VIP ticket?
Well, you get
to hang out after the show with us it's an after party with the nash because not only do you get
to hang out with us losers but you also get to hang out with this amazing community of people
that we're slowly but surely building across the world we had so much fun in the meet and greet in
la probably too much fun but i think as this tour continues to grow and build the meet and greet, this after party
is going to be as important of an event to be at as the show itself. So please, if you think you
want to go to that, don't hesitate. There's only 75 meet and greet tickets per show. So tomorrow,
you need to go to the website. You need to find out where these shows are happening, exactly where, what venues. And then hit those links and buy tickets
with the pre-sale code, all caps, NATURAL1.
The number one, N-A-T-U-R-A-L 1.
NATURAL1, that is the code for the pre-sales.
And now you want to know the dates and the cities.
All right, how about Sunday, January 27th? We're coming to Chicago.
It's my kind of town and we're going to be there. Saturday, February 23rd, we're coming to Dallas,
the big D baby. That's Grant's hometown. And we may even let him come on the plane with us. Saturday,
March 23rd, we're coming to Rose City. We know we got a lot of people from GCP Nation in Portland.
Well, that's kind of a no brainer. We're coming out there Saturday, March 23rd, and then Saturday, April 27th. The three-year tradition continues,
but this time we're doing it in Brooklyn. That's right. Glass Cannon Live New York is happening
in Brooklyn, April 27th, 2019, and Saturday, May 25th. You probably already figured this one out
for yourself because it's happening during PaizoCon. We're going to be playing downtown
Seattle during PaizoCon, so get your to be playing downtown Seattle during PaizoCon.
So get your asses out there. Guys, there
is so much going on in Glass Cannon Nation. Those are just
five dates and there are going to be many
more to come. But if you want to see this show,
you want to see the live experience,
then you've got to come out there. There are going to be people
flying in from all over the world for these shows.
Buy those tickets tomorrow. I'm telling
you, don't be left in the dark.
You will be bummed out and you will beat yourself up.
And I don't want to see that.
I don't want to see you do non-lethal damage to yourself.
I'll feel personally responsible.
So don't do it.
Buy the tickets and then no one gets hurt.
Buy the tickets and no one gets hurt.
Guys, I've said enough.
Hopefully you're as excited as I am.
I don't think that's possible because I'm pretty fired up right now.
Here is episode 181 of the glass cannon podcast i will see you in either chicago dallas
portland brooklyn or seattle here's 181 trilling them softly part two a view to a trill natural one a natural one stood between the end of fairaza
and you just keep it on kicking i rolled it on the table we got a nice thought we all saw it
happen it's all live in real time it's insanity's insanity. The only thing crazier than Joe's natural one,
which in the end didn't really matter,
other than to just show how the entire universe is against you, Joe.
Yes.
The natural one against Fey Raza,
which was a, I think, minimum damage on that hit,
was permadeath.
Was permadeath.
Oh, yeah.
Minimum damage.
Absolutely.
Was permadeath and natural one.
was permadeath was permadeath oh yeah minimum damage absolutely was permadeath and natural one five percent chance of of survival in that moment yeah crazy some people are survivors
yeah yeah maybe feyraza is the chosen one oh this keeps coming up or it's not a coincidence one
what i like it i like it i like it already give him some credit that was lork that
was lork got the natural one and the chosen one yeah oh yeah i mean i choose my ones thank you
very much i'm trying to think in a in a moment like that what what happens when this worm is
standing next to you it is impossible for it to hit does it like just is there something literally
protecting you from death where it strikes out and for some reason it doesn't hit like a bullet that just whizzes
and clips like pulp fiction it's like when the guy comes in and like fires like empties his
cylinder at the two guys yes yes and then just look behind it's like that it's like exactly like
that i mean i think we've had this discussion before but it's like what does a miss represent
and if you roll And if you roll
Because if you roll
High enough to hit
Your touch AC
But not your AC
Then you've hit the armor
Right
Right
Or you hit the shield
Or you hit
Rolling high enough
To get the shield
That's something
We played around with
Which I like
So I feel like
With a natural one
It's just my dodge bonus
It's like my natural
My natural
Ability to
Get out of the way
A little sidestep
The last minute
Maybe she was
like it's like slow motion matrix style she's like it was definitely matrix i like time certain
death slowed down if you will it was a bite right it was like certain death like she sees the teeth
just closing next to her of a huge creature and then just melts into stone just yeah terminator style yeah so cool so unbelievable i mean that whole battle
talk about a tpk on the edge of a tbk baron oh god baron be honest you know better than i
because you think about your character uh-huh was this the closest the closest you've come to death
and maybe it isn't i don't know i feel like it was i mean the
the other battle though was just as close to death if you think about it if they crit on me
but this was unconscious unable to run away and unable to flee you know what i think was the
closest i think might have been closer than this was uh the awigafite when the bramble bright had
you entangled that was awful and it was constricting you to death and it rolled like just enough to
take you one away from yeah yeah that was awful but there but this was also a little bit different
too the added risk was that he was unconscious and there were area of effect damn there was area
of effect damage and right right right he could have been caught in that's one of the like three
ways that like a person can die in this game is being unconscious and getting areas of effect.
Yeah, we don't talk about the AOE deaths.
We talk about the crits.
We talk about falling damage.
But yeah, AOE.
That'll be it.
It also reminded me of a wig in that I didn't think about this until this moment.
I was blind throughout the dungeon for quite a bit of that.
So I had to do that.
But in this instance, my gun exploded gm's choice couldn't
get it back and we had to build a new one it wasn't my choice somebody took it now we're in a
situation what do you want me to say i can't control all of these characters you left it on
the ground but now we're in a situation where if we do want to restock, we have significantly less to pull from the coffers.
Yeah.
I mean, it's just very fascinating to me that this was the third encounter in this Don John.
Don John.
And I mean, obviously, their initiative beat all of you, I think.
So that was a big thing.
Except for Baron.
Except for Baron.
Yes.
I'm glad I didn't go into the tunnels tunnels i'm glad that instinct was at least correct but having one of
the casters be able to see this threat and make a decision about like either let's protect ourselves
let's protect me let me figure out something i can do to make sure that i survive till the next
round or that i have the ability to fight against this thing i think
that made all the difference there their initiative what do you think yeah i mean we could have backed
up oh yeah we knew there because i ferrazza could have backed up done a little you know
battlefield control something but all of a sudden i had a worm on me and it dealt you know between
the cold the cold and the bite it dealt i was one hit away from permadeath. They got crazy reach.
They're doing this AoE stuff.
No, I mean, it made a huge difference, but initiative usually does,
especially when you're dealing with spellcasters,
because I was all key.
As soon as I saw these things coming up at us and we rolled initiative,
and I rolled pretty high, too,
which does not bode well for the future of this dungeon.
But if I could have gotten uh
my action off first my action was to cast resist energy cold on baron because he was right in front
of me and he was the front most combatant and so i do that he has basically dr 30 against cold
yeah so that cone of cold does not put him down you know and and he's way more in the fight he
can unleash a full round action of bullets.
I think it changes everything, that initiative.
Now, do you feel differently?
Is it a different sensation and experience to be useless in a battle because you're fascinated versus just your normal shitty rolling?
What is the difference for you, Joe?
How does it feel?
Joe, you really get to the core here.
I'm often fascinated by your shitty rolling.
I'm like, wow. It draws you right in yeah you didn't even see grant draw a melee weapon next to you
bear to look yet i can't look away no it's it is equally as frustrating i get just as uh stupid and
angry but your exasperation goes towards troy about like i don't think fascinates the battle spell come on no no no no that's not true no that's not true because i mean
that's part of it and that's the fun part you didn't fail the role to begin with to to be
fascinated exactly like i think you if you're failing roles you fail that second save it's like
that's it pal like you lost you had your chance you had your chance and the dice didn't come out
your way so no i i think that the frustration um yeah it comes down to the luck of it but for me the frustration was the
yeah it's bad luck but it's that like i can't like i have these things that are going to be
hugely helpful that you can't do you know like that's that's what's really frustrating yeah
doing a little less damage here or there that's a little bit frustrating but when you have the spell
that will help keep people alive and you can't physically cast it, it drives you nuts.
Well, it drives me nuts.
No one has evasion, right?
No.
You can't get that unless you're a rogue.
But I think you can buy like a ring of evasion.
Rangers have it.
Rangers have it.
At a higher level, yeah.
Yeah, that would really come in handy.
Is that just a feat you can take if you're not a rogue?
No.
No, it's a talent.
It's not. But there is magical stuff. I think there's a that just a feat you can take if you're not a rogue? No. No. It's a talent. It's not.
But there is magical stuff.
I think there's a ring of evasion you can buy.
And there's all kinds of classes now, especially with the advanced classes, if I'm not mistaken,
where you can take rogue talents.
So you can take like a feat to choose a rogue talent if you're like a swashbuckler or a couple different classes.
Something rogue adjacent.
Yeah, exactly.
You can choose to take a rogue talent instead, one rogue talent.
Okay, that's cool.
Yeah, as the game's grown, like obviously archetypes give you access.
If you want to be a wizard that does roguish stuff, there are archetypes that give you
rogue talents as a wizard.
Arcane trickster.
Yeah, I think that's what it is.
But there's also feats that do the same thing.
And now that there's so many more classes since when this game originally came out.
And if you're not familiar with Evasion,
we don't do a lot of teaching anymore
because we don't really know what we're talking about.
We've realized that we do not have the knowledge
to be the teachers.
We got a call from Albany
that revoked our teacher's license, actually.
They took it away.
We're definitely taught more than we teach.
That's true, that's true.
Whether we want to be taught or not.
In all things.
But Evasion, if you succeed on the reflex save, you don't take half damage.
How huge is that?
Huge in that battle.
You take no damage.
No damage.
No.
It's incredible.
It's like the old...
Well, Nestor had it.
It came into play a couple times with Nestor.
For sure it did.
So slayers have it?
Yeah.
And it's great because usually your roguish types have a high reflex anyway,
so they're pretty much never going to take damage.
What is your reflex save bonus, Baron?
Right now, I think it's because I'm unconscious still.
Hold on.
Let me take that off the old condition sheet.
Right now it's saying 11, but that's not right.
I'm going to go around and guess what i think everyone's best and worst
save is because i'm not sure so skid i'm gonna say your worst save is fortitude and your best
is will uh yeah but fortitude is tied with reflex for worst ah they're both terrible
i'm gonna give you a high fortitude low will wrong really my wisdom my wisdom my best save is will i'm a plus 12 to will okay but my
fortune is plus 10 yeah see i can i see you as being hardy woodsy my reflex uh joe would assume
all your saves are terrible they are all very very low and baron your best is reflex and your
worst is oh no your best is probably. You must be high across the board.
11, 11, 10.
Yeah.
Okay.
11, 11, 10.
What do you got?
Five, seven, nine.
Something's wrong.
Fascinate, here we come.
Something's terribly wrong.
Oh, wait a minute.
Wait a minute.
Do you have a condition on?
I'm an idiot.
Do you have a condition on the entire battle?
Are you the reason why we were on death's door?
No.
All of us?
That's the worst is when you leave a condition on for like six sessions.
Yeah, yeah.
Like, I don't have that anymore.
Oh, my God.
I never put...
Well, it wouldn't have mattered that second one.
It was a natural one.
I never put back on my cloak of resistance plus four that I gave to Baron.
That's why they're all so...
So it's Baron's fault.
It's Grandpa.
My God, I have so much higher stays.
What an idiot.
What a fool.
I really don't think it mattered.
Oh, man, if I go back and listen and find out that that first wheel save,
I was like one point off.
It was sitting in the hamper for like a week.
You just had to wash it.
I kept putting off laundry, and I'm like, I'll do it on the weekend.
Just spray some Febreze on that cluck of possession.
Put it on.
Now you're 14 11 10 9 11 13
9 11 13 yeah well you get out of there obviously uh by the skin of your teeth feyraza especially
has one round where she's a ghost and instead survives melts into stone then turns into bug
gets out of there you go back to the camp, and no one's there.
So, when we went
off the air, I brought
it up, but I mean, it just seems like both
fun and what you would probably do, since you
didn't talk about it, would you want to scry on
them, but you don't have it prepared? Well,
and then I forgot, what I remembered what I did
is because you and I talked about using
the scry mechanic more, just for fun story
stuff. So I, when I leveled up, I used the spell staff,
the six-level spell staff,
to store scry in my quarter staff.
Oh, that's cool.
So I actually can scry.
Now, with that spell, it's always scry that's in there,
or you can change that from time to time?
Whenever I cast spell staff,
I would put a new spell in the staff.
Okay.
Do you, like, cast it? Yeah, I can only have one in there one there at a time no it's permanent so so like you use spell staff and you're like i'm gonna you know prepare scry in my staff okay
and then that stays in the staff until you discharge it that is very very cool it's like a
wizard's uh yeah exactly uh what is it arcane bond bonded bonded item yeah i figured you would
probably want to you would probably want to do this in the future so well you figured correctly so you get
back to camp you're like where the hell are these guys are they in minderhouse valley are they in
skeleton they leave you to die well we also talk about i'm wearing the prisoner's ring
and oh and what a bonus does that give you well i think it lets me scry on them it also lets them
he could pember could teleport directly to me oh that's perfect
except they also feel
like what we say an
emotional like you can
you can kind of
experience my emotional
so I just imagine that
Pembroke is experiencing
intense feelings of
abandonment I'm feeling
super guilty and a
little lonely you taste
blood and insects in
your mouth because she was almost dead i'm turned into a bug
oh i made it gross insectile emotions uh i'm just i'm just trying to feel as bad as possible
so he feels as bad as possible give me a i'm making myself sad my mother can we get like
it's like a like an actor like trying to like okay we need you to cry on this take. You're just like, all right, I'll think of my...
I just feel really shitty about myself.
I'll think of my dog when he fell over.
I was so sad when my dog fell down.
Oh, man.
Here come the tears.
My dog, he looks so stupid.
Everyone's laughing at him.
There's no damning it up.
It's loose.
Can I get a little windy mountaintop sounds?
Because I imagine she's going into her backpack and pulling out this mirror to look into to try and figure out exactly where her quote unquote friends have gone.
Just here on the wind.
They've abandoned you.
You have no friend.
They only care about themselves. All the chosen ones are dead. Loser. You have no friend. They only care about themselves.
All the chosen ones are dead.
Loser.
It's Joe's fault.
Loser.
Druid is a lame class.
There we go.
It sounds very dangerous.
Yeah.
She's like struggling against the wind.
Delivering a weather report in a hurricane.
Winds are really coming in.
Oh, my God!
Oh, no!
What is happening?
We shut down the subways.
You pull out the mirror, it just blows away.
No!
No!
No!
Crashes against the statue in front of you.
And then the wolves come and attack you.
We told you to clean this statue.
Instead, you desecrated it further.
You look into the mirror.
And your eyes go up in your head,
and you see beyond the mirror,
and for a moment, you feel as if you're looking at a city
on top of a mountain.
Waterfalls cascading from the bluffs to the ground far below, elevators
leading up to this town. You know where your friends are. But just as quickly as you get
a sense of where they are, the city soon fades out of view, and you feel like you're in this long, dark hallway.
You're just standing there looking around you at the walls.
And in the distance, far away, you hear sounds of multiple voices overlapping each other in anguish.
You continue walking down this hallway, and from time to time you see shadows flitting
about out of the corner of your eye. You turn to look, you don't see anything there but the wall.
But as you continue to look, sometimes you see these enormous shadows walking like
in the distance beyond the wall
these large
armies marching in place
to nowhere
but if you blink
and like shake your head
they're gone it's just a wall again
this endlessly
dark black wall
the hallway and the voices echo in front of you this endlessly dark black wall.
The hallway and the voices echo in front of you,
and up ahead, more light starts to come into view,
but the light itself isn't as bright as it should be.
There's no hints of orange or yellow that would suggest fire or natural light,
but this bright, purely white light ahead of you
flickers as if its source
was fire.
You turn the corner of this hallway to inspect the source of the voices and see something
extraordinary.
Something that you feel as if you've seen before.
feel as if you've seen before.
You see a woman in black robes,
standing inches off the ground,
like arms outstretched in agony.
Her white face gleams in the light up ahead, provided by what you can only assume is a portal
to another world
or maybe another plane.
This woman's face is so snow white you can't even make out her features.
And now you realize that the only color in the room is coming from the portal.
Everything else, including this woman, including yourself if you look down, is different shades
of black
or white.
In one of the woman's outstretched hands, you see a rock, and with your keen eagle eyes,
you can see on the rock a rudimentary rune drawn on it, as if something a child would draw and the woman is just
clutching it
floating, lost
in a trance, facing this
portal as if she herself
is creating this portal
you walk closer
to her to try and make out her features but your
eyes are drawn to this
world that she's conjured
a place that feels so familiar
and yet so
unfamiliar at the same time.
You see a small
town situated
on a hill
surrounded by walls
that are in the process
of being rebuilt.
And then
you zoom back to the mountain.
The mirror flies from your hands.
I know what that is.
Does Farazza know what it is?
I don't think she does.
Farazza wouldn't know, right?
Yeah, Matthew knows.
I know what it is.
Joe doesn't look like he knows what it is.
Joe never knows what it is. Joe doesn't look like he knows what it is. Joe never knows what it is.
I was doing sound.
You can listen back in the edit.
Grant, do you know what it is?
Do I?
That's a no.
I was distracted by something else going on.
Wow.
That's rude. Yeah. Wow. That's rude.
Yeah.
Sorry.
That game of Sudoku you're playing?
Yep.
I just keep...
I have a nine left, and I don't know where to put it, and it keeps on telling me I don't
have it.
I guess I'll go to the crossword puzzle.
You can play KenKen.
That didn't go well.
KenKen.
I don't know what that is.
I don't know what that is.
I don't know what... Yeah. Ken't know what that is I don't know what
Yeah
Ken Ken's fun
It is fun
You actually have to do math
And not just put random numbers
In places
Should we say what it is
What we think it is
Ken Ken's a game
It's kind of
No no no
Not a game
Not a game
Oh man
You come on
Damn dumb
Enough about Ken Ken
Yeah of course
Please
Have
Like a balderdash of gaming
Let's hear Joe's theory on it.
Let's hear Joe's theory.
I know what Ken Ken is.
No.
God damn it.
God damn it.
God damn it.
What was the vision?
Son of a gun.
I wasn't really listening.
I mean, it was this town with the walls being rebuilt.
Was it true now?
This is what makes it a professional organization.
Is she seeing true now?
She's seeing true now.
So who was this woman?
Della's mother is my guess.
Is that what everyone thinks?
That was my guess.
Possibly.
Why was her vision drawn to her in that moment?
Why?
And why do you keep having these scrying visions that feel like not only that you're being transported through time, but it's a memory of something that you've already experienced.
Yeah.
That's the thing.
You said they feel like memories.
Yeah, they feel as if you were there.
You were present when that guy on the tower threw the body down to the bloodthirsty orcs.
You were present here.
thirsty orcs you were present here so it's you're moving back and forth through through time but it's also as if you're remembering having already been there again more things are just adding up in
your brain like how am i connected to all this how are these visions connected to my search for
the chosen one i love what what's going on with scrying right now and I wish that this was a part of scrying all the time.
Like, there's a chance to fail on a teleport
to where you go somewhere you don't intend.
Right.
It's like the scrying is successful,
but you tune the channel too far,
and you're looking into something else or another time.
Yeah, yeah.
You get a glimpse of something,
and you don't always know what it means.
I love it.
Maybe 2E.
It's actually...
I want a credit.
But it's functioning kind of like a Palantir does,
where it's dangerous to use it,
because it's like you don't...
There's a perspective that can be an enforced perspective
on what you're seeing.
It's like a Palantir combined with a Pensieve from Harry Potter.
Yeah.
Hayden Palantir?
I believe he's a Penisier's here oh i'm sorry i thought i
thought you meant hayden pellentier i would call save the cheerleader if this is happening
you should call the fantasy equivalent of time warner because it's like hey look i've been on
hold i've been on hold for 45 minutes every time i try to use use Scry, I get what I want for the first five seconds,
and then it drifts off to something.
I don't even know what it is.
I'll switch to Fios.
I don't care.
I will switch.
I will switch to Fios.
Can I speak to your supervisor, please?
Because I know this isn't something.
Let me talk to him.
I don't want to yell at you.
I know this isn't your fault.
I know this isn't your fault.
I'm just very frustrated.
This is Grug Grug the Untamed.
I'm the supervisor.
How can I help you?
Grug Grug the Untamed.
So I talked to my manager.
Here's what we're going to do.
We're going to give you showtime free for three months.
But are you going to fix it?
But you can describe.
No.
We can't do that.
We'd have to send somebody out for that.
Are you available all next week from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.?
But have you watched Shameless?
And the new Twin Peaks? You're not all next week from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. But have you watched Shameless? And the new Twin Peaks?
You're not answering my question.
So, yes.
All of this is adding up to more strange stuff going on with Feyroz's memories,
with her visions, with her magics, with her whole world view.
But you know your friends are in Skelton.
With her whole world view.
But, you know your friends are in Skelton.
Yeah, and I guess, I think she's going to give them, you know, a day to get back here.
The lazy bums.
It wouldn't even take a day. I mean, we, because I had another teleport prepared.
So my plan was to get back to the camp as soon as possible.
Just get ourselves fixed up.
Do some shopping, preparation, and go back to the camp, spend the possible, just get ourselves fixed up, do some shopping, preparation,
and go back to the camp, spend the night there.
Oh, okay.
Just because I didn't want to leave Ferrazzo alone.
Sure, you didn't.
I apologize.
Now he says that.
He felt the scry.
All he says at the moment is,
I'm sorry, and leaves me alone with two giant worms.
I know.
Time was short.
Yeah, I'm interested to see what happens next.
So let's just fast forward to you waiting and, well, what's happening in Skelp?
Before we fast forward, what are you guys doing in Skelp?
Who's in the hotel room?
Yeah, we pop into our hotel room.
Oh, oh, oh!
Yeah.
A guy closes his rope.
Oh, yeah.
Who are you?
I think we actually, it's the honeymoon suite
that we initially rented
because we were feeling kind of sassy.
I specifically ordered
three women.
Is that like a dwarf or a shark?
All right, a human wizard.
It is Saturday night. Let's do this.
Dance with me, dwarf.
We pop into this and then it's like pardon me
excuse me and it's just like where that you have an unconscious dwarf in your hands right yeah
baron's laid on the ground bloody bleeding every day he's just staring at the wall with a stupid
smile on his face what a horrible thing to appear in your room a really old man with a floppy hat.
You just see the back pages. A dying dwarf.
The back pages of the village voice are opened up.
Cigarette stumps. He's like,
alright, let's do this.
We'll finish with the dwarf
when he wakes up.
He's really still pursuing them.
Wow, I thought it kind of had its moment, Troy.
I thought you were going to let that one go.
No, I can't get over the image of him ordering three hookers
and a dead dwarf and two other guys.
He comes out of the bathroom and he takes these three hookers.
And it's a dead dwarf, an old man.
You should definitely keep explaining it.
We get it.
We get it.
We get it, Troy.
Can you tell us about Ken Ken again?
But the dwarf is dead.
So then as soon as we kind of calm down.
Yeah, as soon as Forbear snaps out of it,
I mean, I guess as soon as he stops hearing this trilling,
he snaps out of it and Pembroke explains what happened.
He says, where is Ferraza?
He says, we had to leave her.
There was no choice.
I had to make a snap decision.
Baron was helpless.
I knew that she had means of possibly getting away.
So I had to make a decision.
I hope she's all right.
And forebears will immediately go down, do a heel check on Baron, see that he's unconscious.
And we're all like, I'm still covered in like necrotic, you know, frost burn.
Yeah.
We're all on death's door.
We're all roughed up.
Yeah, so.
You do a heal check on Baron?
Yeah.
You're permanently dead.
Oh.
Really?
The shock of the teleports.
It finished.
No!
That was what, if you had rolled 100,
Baron, part of his head would have been left back there
and detached from his body.
Oh, God.
I was hoping it would be more like a Jeff Goldblum
in the fly situation. He'd come back
with Ferraz's head.
And he will
cast a healing spell on you.
Cure serious wounds.
They are serious. So
to wake you up.
And then we'll get out of this guy's
room. He's like, pardon me, sorry.
Please
don't get up. And then we just get out we get out of
there and uh we do as much healing as we can manage and i want to i want to buy a couple of
scrolls magic scrolls oh okay all right i will i have the sheet up matthew's not here so i'll
take care of the bookkeeping i have 40 gold left i'm bookkeeping. You have 40 gold left. I'm right here, Grant. You have 40 gold left.
Oh, you have your own stuff?
I have my own gold,
so I still have a little pool of gold for my own stuff.
You've been holding that on us?
The old man keeps his money in a coffee can underneath his bed.
He's got a lot of pockets in that room.
To be fair, you were going to use all of our money, Grant.
I did.
That's true. I wasn't going to i did um so so i'm not so i do that quickly i don't want to like say what i got
and then okay okay and then we as soon as that's done boom we teleport back well no i think we're
going to try to buy a couple wands of cure late wounds okay. So we'll just buy two of those. How much is it? $1,500 for two of them.
All right.
We have $3,495 gold left.
Troy, I assume it's not an issue in Skelth
to pick up two wands of cure light wounds,
a level one wand.
The guy's like, you know what?
I had two wands just yesterday.
You know, I knew he was going to.
Just yesterday.
A guy came in here, needed two wands.
He looked just like you.
What?
Yeah.
He came in here with a dead dwarf
and an old man.
Just yesterday.
What?
That would be weird.
It was only yesterday.
That would be a little weird.
Well, today's the anniversary.
Oh, you're back.
It's the 24-hour anniversary.
What are you talking about, sir?
You've been dead for 10 years.
You've had the wands all along.
He looks at his pocket.
There's two wands.
There's two wands.
Oh, my God!
They've had a receipt. Yeah. No, they give you the wands all along. He looks at his pocket. There's two wands. There's two wands. Oh, my God. They're better received.
Yeah.
No, they give you the wands.
Beautiful.
Okay.
Oh, can I ask you?
Hi, Mark.
Can I get a oil of flame arrow while I'm here, too?
Is that okay with you guys?
We are fresh out.
Oh.
Yeah, he has it.
It's up to Joe.
I'll let Joe.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Absolutely.
He says, this is fine.
Just don't ever put it Put it on a bullet
I have it
You know what
Don't buy it
Because I have one
I have it too
Yeah
Oh you guys
He has it as a spell
I have the spells
Oh great
So we're fine
I do have one oil of flame
Forget about it
Forget about it
And then
Yes we must return
And find what happened
Find out what happened
To Feroz
I can only hope
That she made her way
Back to the camp I hope she survived And that she made her way back to the camp.
I hope she survived and she made it her way back to the camp.
I mean, you know I'm over it.
Oh, no, actually, yeah.
Oh, wait.
You feel my feelings.
And it's like, she's a little annoyed, but she's fine.
We should go.
Actually, let's give it ten minutes.
Yeah, maybe let her calm down a bit.
It's getting worse.
Let's get our story straight.
She fell.
No, it's a Simpsons reference.
All right.
So we go back.
We teleport back.
Can we get a hot cocoa first?
Yeah.
It's really cold.
Just listening to that wind.
Are you drinking one? I'm just hearing the word hot cocoa. I want a hot cocoa. It is freezing in our studio. cocoa first yeah just listening to that wind yeah are you bringing
one just hearing the
word hot cocoa i want a
hot i know it is freezing
in our studio yeah can
you run to dunks can you
give me a duncacino we're
gonna do the rest of the
episode in skelts so you
can just skeddle off and
get some cocos i'll buy
like 20 minutes of skelp
time just go to the
dunkeys on dip mars okay
you go it's great you
want a mochaccino yeah
please all right two
mochaccinos dunkeys on
dip mars bro go to the
dunkeys on dip mars you know they changed their name it's just duncans now because they're more Great, you want a mochaccino? Yeah, please. All right, two mochaccinos. Dunkies on Ditmas, bro. Go to the Dunkies on Ditmas.
You know, they changed their name.
It's just Dunkin's now, because they're more than just donuts.
But you never called it Dunkin' Donuts.
No, we call it Dunkies back home.
Or Dunks, but now it's just Dunkin's.
Dunkin's.
I don't like it.
I like Dunkin' Donuts.
Is it Dunkin's or is it Dunkin'?
I think it's Dunkin's.
So anyway.
So you go to Dunkin's Duncans. So anyway... So you go to Duncans and scale.
So we get
a couple, maybe some
hot cocoa. Box of gel.
Three hot cocos, not four.
Three pairs of sunglasses and maybe
a snow globe, shot glass, and a
commemorative spoon.
And then we like...
How many gold was that? I just want to take it out of the...
That's the last of my petty cash.
So then we teleport back.
This grand feast you see before you represents the last.
Yeah, represents the last of the petty cash.
Ghostbusters, what do you want?
It's just Duncan.
It's just Duncan.
I hate it.
I hate change.
Go ahead and roll a D100.
Oh, no.
Right.
I literally forget every single time
I always forget about this
84
84
Two away
It's gonna be so bad
It's gonna be so bad
So wait there's two numbers that can royally
Screw us 186
Well it depends on the place.
Yeah, it depends on...
In a very familiar location.
In this location, I think it's just 99, 186.
Where did the 99 come from?
No, no, there is like...
It goes from very familiar, very unfamiliar, like super familiar.
Very familiar is only one number.
I would say he's incredibly familiar with this.
Yeah, that might just be 100.
He's only teleported here 17 million times.
Right, that is your spot.
No, no.
Well, off target is 9899 for a very familiar area, and 100 is a similar area.
There's no mishap on very familiar.
No, none.
That's good.
Yeah.
None.
So that bedroom and skelts, you can pretty much nail.
Yeah.
But 86 is still an 86.
Yeah, that's true. Wow. Why do we keep on shooting ourselves in the foot with
these silly rules that's kind of our thing makes it spicy blame hayden palantir all right so you're
back penitent and then a tea at it and you see fay raza she's just about to grab her stuff and
leave i'm so sorry i am so sorry ferese. I'm so glad you're alright.
I had to make a snap decision.
I had to save...
I couldn't save you both.
I couldn't bring you both. I knew Baron, if he
was left there, he would have bled out.
He would have certainly died. I knew
you had a chance to live. And look, you did!
So I was right. It's very clear
to me now who you care about.
Do you rank the party in members of importance?
No, no.
Is that how it works?
Don't twist my words.
Don't twist my words.
I care about all of you equally.
Well.
At least equally.
At least.
Even more than others.
Some even more than others.
More equally than others.
So, no, I'm incredibly, incredibly.
Very equally.
Very more equal than.
And I...
I love you.
There, I said it.
Cray lost it.
He's literally just trying to cover his tracks.
So he admits to loving a woman he doesn't love.
Is this The Bachelor?
Just to keep her from being angry at the end of the moment.
He's talking and he loves her.
It's like the scene in Tootsie where he's over at Terry Garr's apartment and he's trying on her dresses.
And she walks out and he's like, I want you.
I want you.
I want you.
I've always wanted you.
Just decades of experience.
We saw you go into the tomb of an ancient king and get cursed by it,
and you get psyched out by a female druid.
Oh, that's so great.
Just getting upset and annoyed with you.
I can't stand for a woman to be angry with me.
It just discombobulates me to no end.
There, I've said it.
There, I've said it.
I don't care who knows it.
I love Feyerazza
You hear that giant kind
Anyone left there at the camp below
I love her
Oh my face hurts
I'm very uncomfortable
I truly am sorry
I truly am sorry
But I hoped you would understand.
I shall endeavor to understand, I suppose.
Bad news bears, though.
That's appropriate for a druid.
Bad news for bears.
That's your response to I love you?
For the first time?
I know.
I'm just saying this in front of all of first time? I know. I'm pretending.
In front of all of giant kind?
I'm pretending it never happened.
It doesn't happen.
Oh, my God. It's not canonical.
Sorry.
The worms are still alive.
I didn't kill them.
No, how did you escape?
How did you manage?
You would never understand.
No, I suppose I wouldn't.
It's weird.
Maybe when you're older.
Yes.
All right.
Does any of you have any healing spells? Yes, I think we all need
some. Yeah, it's still the
same day, so you guys are
in bad shape. No, no, no. We popped off
that wand. Alright, so everyone's at full
except for me. We're all at full, yeah. Except for me.
Alright, ready to go back in? Yep, let's go.
So we'll wand up
Feyraza. Do you have any more criticals?
No, I only had
two, but I used them both.
And then we just wanded the rest of the way.
So we'll just wand you up.
Don't worry about it.
Don't worry about it.
I'm going to wand you up.
I'm going to wand you down.
How much are you down, Feyraza?
I'm down 65.
Wow.
Man, that was rough.
That's only because I popped eight good berries.
Oh, damn.
That's good.
I was down 126.
Let me ask you this.
So you're going to go back in, right?
The adventure has to continue.
Oh, we're going to.
We're going to.
We can't head back to True Now.
We discussed this and decided that we're taking it back to those motherfucking worms.
Wait a minute.
You're going back to fight the frost worms again.
We're going back prepared this time yes for a frost worm
combat i find this fascinating yeah we were talking about it we're talking about it this
morning we got to the office first and we were like i don't think we've ever done this before
no we never have like well i guess we never run before but we have also never had such perfect
intel on a combat that we prepared exactly what we think we need to fight that combat exactly
yeah and i think with what we're talking about preparing i think that i mean i think we're gonna
mop them up like i don't even think it's gonna be a i wouldn't go that far i'm trying to get
them all like fired oh it's working it's working you gotta throw down the gauntlet matthew you
might as well talk shit if you don't know what's going to happen. You don't know what's going to happen is the key phrase there.
But we're in a great
situation now. We know
exactly what they do. We know where they are.
We know how they fight. We know what they do.
And we have a date of prepare.
Assuming everything is
the same as when we left. You're basically
dark souls-ing it. You walked into the room,
figured out what this thing is, ran back to the
bonfire. The. Baron died.
We got the gist
and now he's reincarnated
and we're going back in.
You saved your progress
and you're going back.
This is interesting.
Now,
you would think
that it's just going to work perfectly,
but man,
you can't do this all the time.
No.
No.
Probably not.
It'll be interesting to see,
will you just mop up the floor?
Initiative is still huge.
In any other battle, though, I think we...
If you hadn't rolled that natural one, this would be a totally different circumstance.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, I agree.
Well, this is going to be interesting.
Hey, Matthew, before we get started, where's my mochaccino?
Yeah, did you get those...
Classic Dana.
...mochaccinos?
All right, so let's say you theraz up and you head back
to the doors outside the tomb um remember it is still darkness inside so forebears do you want
to have light cast on you uh no i am going to uh use my fifth level spell so we're going to just
go out you know get up there and then just go buff crazy.
That's the idea on this fight.
And so one of those buffs is going to be mantle of the magic warriors.
So we are going,
you know,
four bears is going to do his ritual before we go into combat.
Remember,
you can't do it on Baron.
Just on Baron.
Yeah.
He doesn't get it.
But so now who is missing the dark fish?
Oh no,
you have god vision knight.
No,
but they'll,
yeah.
So I will have dark vision and Pembroke and F no, you have godvision knight. No, but they'll... Yeah, so I will have darkvision,
and Pembroke and Fiorazza will both have fly.
Okay, yeah, cool.
And Baron doesn't get shit!
Well, wait, is there anything else?
Wait, don't we have a wand of fly?
I have a wand of fly, so...
Yeah.
I could use that instead.
Boop!
If there's another, like...
Oh, I don't think there is.
Don't forget the ceilings are only 20 feet high.
Yeah, but...
The only other stuff...
From abilities.
It gets you animal abilities.
So the only other things that you would get that are awesome are climb speed or swim speed.
Oh, all right.
Yeah, just give me flight.
I'll take flight.
Does scent...
Is scent an option, too?
Scent is an option.
Cool, yeah.
Farazza is going to wild shape into a war cap.
Nice.
I'm hoping you're going to turn into a
frost worm, to be honest with you, because we could really
use one of those.
Well, I don't get any of the cool stuff.
Is a war
cat a large creature? Huge.
Huge.
Huge. Really?
Okay.
Alright, let's get a panther out there.
A huge panther, we'll say.
Sex panther.
Oh, that's big.
All right.
I'm going to let you control that panther, and I'm going to take you off the board, Ferraz.
Taking it off the board.
Taking it off the board.
Four bears will also, once again, cast false life, and he will cast magic vestment on Pembroke.
Thank you.
Ferraz, are you going to do the protection yeah so i'll do uh you want
to do both or do you want to do one no they don't stack so all right i will cast protection from
energy communal i'm interested to see how this is gonna shake out yeah i am too i'm curious i
think that we're gonna crush it essentially all of us all of us get for 10 minutes. I have 110 minutes that I can divide in 10-minute intervals for all of you.
So we should each have 30 minutes, right?
Uh-huh.
Nope.
One person will only have 20.
Joe, you only get 20.
Shut up.
But we each get 12.
It's going to be cold energy That I'm going to choose
And the spell will absorb
Basically 120 points of cold energy
Okay
So a couple frosty cones
But then it's gone
It's like a hit point basis
It's like temp hit points against cold
I have another spell I'll cast
But I want to wait until we're
Actually make sure Yeah just watch your duration I have another spell I'll cast, but I want to wait until we're...
Actually, let me make sure.
Yeah, just watch your duration.
Stuff with a duration of over an hour or even over ten minutes.
If you're casting this and just rushing right in, it's fine.
Stuff of duration under five minutes, don't cast.
I have something that will last 11 minutes, but I'll wait until we get to the...
That's fine.
And also, just keep in mind, make sure this stuff stacks.
Some of these don't
always stack. Do resistances and protection
stack? Joe just said
no. No? Okay. I know when
I read resist energy, it said it does not
stack with protection from energy, so I just don't
know how it works. It does not stack.
If a character is warded by
protection from energy and resist energy, the protection
spell absorbs damage until its power is exhausted.
So, I have a resist energy ready if the protection runs out.
Oh.
Well, then I will cast resist energy cold on everybody just to be safe.
Okay.
How long does that last?
That lasts 10 minutes per level, so hours.
Yeah.
A couple hours.
Yeah.
I have it, too.
So resist energy.
Oh, well, then cast.
Yeah.
There you go.
Okay.
So whoever doesn't have it, I'll cast on. So resist energy. Oh, well, then cast... Yeah, there you go. Okay. So whoever doesn't have it, I'll cast on.
So resist energy cold, right, which is not going to factor in until you've already taken
120 hit points.
Then it'll come into play, and it'll do basically DR against cold.
Four bears will also then cast on himself stone skin.
Beautiful.
Which gives him resistance DR 10 to physical damage. Beautiful. Which gives him resistance DR10
to physical damage.
Nice.
Stacking them up.
Stack, stack, stack, stack, stack, stack.
Stacking them up.
And your
flame arrow equivalent,
Pembroke,
does that last a long time
or is it short term?
Yeah, that lasts
a long time.
Okay.
Great.
I am going to cast...
I'm assuming we're at the... Did we get get back to the right at the doors outside of the uh the mountain i put you there on the map all right i'm
gonna cast uh bear's endurance on myself okay nice and cat's grace mass six level spell on everybody
bump up those reflex saves.
Yeah, just add everything to your Hero Lab.
Hopefully Hero Lab will
keep you honest with the stacking stuff.
Otherwise we'll get
plenty of nasty emails.
Before I get them anyways, this is a very
World of Warcraft-y.
It's very video game-y.
We brought Jake in.
Pembroke just runs in.
No, Pembroke! I wasn't done casting my 9thon James. Pembroke just runs in. No, no, no.
I wasn't done casting my knife.
Pembroke the Paladin.
Awesome.
All right.
Are there any more buffs you'd like to cast?
Or can we play this game?
Not at the moment.
Not at the moment.
At the moment.
You are at the doors leading into the mountain that you know lead into the vestibule or into the shadow plane who knows
what's behind those doors now it's been a day they're gonna be gone uh so you did rest right
it is a new day obviously for a new day all right a new day has dawned who's doing what
talk to me talk to me i'm a flying war cap so Talk to me. I'm a flying war cat.
Flying war cat.
All right.
And I'm a flying old man.
And I love this war cat. And I love that war cat.
And I love that war cat.
I don't care.
Who knows it?
I love you, war cat.
I'm still uncomfortable.
Forebears will go open the door.
What the fuck is that?
A giant tank?
You just put a tank and roll 20.
Time bandits?
That's one way to stop a gunslinger.
Panther.
Panther came up, and the second thing was a giant army tank.
A panzer.
So I put that.
A panzer, yeah.
A panzer tank.
You just walk in.
It's just a giant tank pointed at you. Oh, Panzer, yeah. Panzer tank. It's just a giant tank
pointing at you.
We shouldn't have let them know
we were coming. They had so much time to prepare.
They developed armored vehicle technology.
Built one and set it
up for the mission. How did they get it through the door?
How did they?
Alright. You guys
walk in and up to the
doors leading to that hallway again?
Yeah.
Perception checks along the way.
Okay.
The doors are still closed.
Pembroke, excuse me, Feyraza, you snuck through because they were locked.
But you guys can now see there can easily be unbarred from this side.
Oh, they were barred on that side.
Damn.
Oh, wow. I didn't realize that. Someone came and barred it.
They passed the bar.
Yes. You've been Roseanne
barred.
No. That would be awful.
Yeah, Joe cut that out.
Well, you were kicked out of the tomb.
Okay.
So,
the moment we're about to open the doors and go in,
Pembroke will cast greater invisibility on himself.
Ah.
And how long does that last?
A round per level.
Okay.
Great.
Okay, so open the door.
Roll for initiative.
Oh.
Great.
Okay, so open door.
Roll for initiative.
Oh.
Let's make sure we get all the juice out of that greater invisible.
Roll for initiative.
Oh.
What did you get, Baron?
24.
24.
Solid.
Not good. Not good.
17.
Oh.
17. Pembroke 5
5
total
that's the total initiative
that's with the cat's grace
so bad 4 bears
7
just rolled terribly
just rolled terribly okay
you will now act in initiative order.
What do you do?
Bear, bear?
Bear and I'll step up to the door.
Can he see anything?
Are they out there or no?
You do not see anything.
15, 20.
He walks up to here.
To here?
If you're listening at home?
To there.
Are you opening the door?
Oh, the doors aren't open.
I thought they were open.
Yeah, you can open them.
We'll say you open them before he casts his spell.
Oh, okay, great.
So you open them and go through, and you went about ten feet in.
This is a twenty-foot-wide hallway.
Don't forget, the left side of this hallway has completely collapsed,
leading to these tunnels that you now know are frostworm tunnels.
You move ten feet in, hugging the left side of the wall.
About fifty feet or so ahead of you
There's a set of double doors on the left, on the west
And then of course, beyond the collapsed wall
The hallway continues
You move in and see nothing
Roll a perception check
Okay
Okay, that's not bad
That is not bad
Thirty-two
Thirty-four stone cutting bad 32 34 stone cutting
34 stone cutting
32
You hear movement from the tunnels
Alright
You see nothing
It is Feyraza's turn
Feyraza will
Feyraza will move into the room.
Okay.
She's going to go past the tunnels.
She's pretty fast.
Okay.
She's a huge war cat.
And, yeah, she'll wait right there.
She'll ready in...
She's going to ready in...
No, she's good.
She's good.
Okay.
Now, remember, if you are walking on the collapsed portions,
any square that shares a piece of
collapsed floor, that is difficult terrain.
It is now Four Bears' turn.
Four Bears is going to...
They're gearing up.
They're gearing up.
Oh, actually, I'm going to cast a spell.
You are going to cast a spell.
Don't worry.
Don't worry about it.
Okay.
I don't like it. I am worried. I'm going to cast a spell. You are going to cast a spell. Don't worry about it. Okay. I don't like it.
I am worried.
I'm worried.
Forebears is going to...
All right, you know what?
The first thing he's going to do is he's going to cast Righteous Might on himself.
Oh, there you go.
So he's going to do this, like, Shawanti incantation and just announce, like, you know, in Shawanti
that he's coming to exterminate these worms.
And you grow to large size.
Large size.
And he's going to come in, yeah,
he'll come in to 30 feet into the room.
Okay, now, you did walk across some difficult terrain there.
Do you want to avoid the difficult terrain?
Because I don't know if you can get that far.
Sure, yeah, I'll avoid the difficult terrain.
All right, so you walk past Baron,
hugging that left wall to avoid the difficult terrain facing.
Excuse me, Baron.
He just walks over you.
You trample Baron.
Why did you wear a underpants?
Don't look up there.
It is Pembroke.
Pembroke's turn.
All right, yeah, Pembroke is, he's going to fly in.
What a badass.
Invisible stealth bomber.
And casts haste on everybody.
Cast.
This is the most buff we've ever been.
Haste on everybody.
Everybody in the club getting tipsy.
On everybody.
Let's go to round two.
It's Baron's turn.
This is going to be so bad.
Oh, man.
Oh, my God.
I can't wait.
Baron is going to walk up right underneath Pembroke.
Care bearing.
Okay.
Does he see anything?
Another perception check?
Yeah, roll perception.
Can I roll as well?
It's not your turn
27
27
And you can see 60 feet?
Show me 60 feet
Certainly
Okay
Go up
Go up
Okay
I heard something
You don't see Anything
But you feel like
If you had 65 feet
Maybe 70 feet
Oh
Maybe then you'd see something
Alright
Alright
Alright
This is so bad
These things are
No joke
I'm guessing you would not benefit
From like a shield of faith right
No yeah I already have a shield Cast in the frostbite Oh wait a shield of faith, right? No. Yeah. I already have a shield.
Cast it in the frostbite.
Oh, wait.
A shield of faith is a deflection bonus, right?
Yeah.
So I certainly would benefit from a shield of faith.
All right.
Well, I will cast.
Yeah.
Plus two deflection bonus.
I will cast shield of faith on the large man adjacent to me.
Awesome.
And say, this may be our final battle, brother. Let's
take it to him.
And take it to him you shall.
Because I'm pretty sure
I'd have to go back and listen to the tape.
It is the exact same initiative order as last
time. Baron
Frostworm Frostworm
Feyraza forebears Pembroke.
So it is the Frostworm's turn.
The first round,
they sensed you and moved up into the tunnels.
Baron succeeded on his perception ahead of their self
so was able to hear them coming.
The first one up top comes out.
Five, two, one, three.
Comes right to the edge.
Oh no, nervous.
And cast Cone of Colds on
Baron Pembroke
in four hits. Oh, my God. This is really
fun. Everyone roll a reflex save.
Okay. Well, just
those three, right? Everyone except
Rayraza. Come on. Come on!
There we go.
Yes!
Baron, you look the most upset. What did you
roll? 24.
24.
I can't remember. Even with the cat's grace?
Yeah, with the cat's grace, I had plus 13.
Roll 11 on the die.
Pembroke.
19.
And what is your name for bears?
30.
Ooh.
Natty 19's O.
Only Pembroke failed.
Oh, okay.
Okay.
You're better than that.
All right.
Not for Pembroke. I mean, I feel bad for Pem bad for pembroke but i mean he's in love with someone else so how could i possibly you feel mostly bad for
him because he's in love yeah yeah exactly that's what i mean we all definitely believe him right
pembroke takes 66 points of cold damage wow okay so zero points of cold damage. Wow! So zero points of cold damage. Is it zero?
It's 120, right?
120.
He has protection for 120.
And now, so that chips away.
Yeah.
But, I mean, amazing.
How amazing.
And then Baron and forebears, you take 33.
Do with that what you will with your buffs.
So zero points of damage.
Zero points of damage.
Does it eat away?
If you guys eat away, it's an ablative barrier.
Right, right, right. If you guys put away, it's an ablative barrier. Right, right, right.
If you guys put it in your hero lab,
they have it.
And it shows up right on your screen.
Absorbed energy.
33 of 120.
You know who had something similar to this?
Screed.
Had protection from arrows.
Yeah, that's right.
That's like Baron King.
That's right.
Ping, ping, ping, ping, ping.
Yeah, I remember that.
He was just eating away at this like,
I think it was 90 points.
90 points at that level is insane.
First level boss, yeah. He was a tough boss. It forced you to, you know, get in melee with him was just eating away at this like i think it was 90 points 90 points at that level is insane first
level boss yeah he was a tough boss it forced you to you know get in melee with him while he's
trying to throw bombs i'm glad i murdered him uh all right he's trying to throw bombs the second
one you don't see yet uh but you hear everyone everyone roll a will save.
Okay.
Oh, man.
No.
No.
No.
No.
No.
No.
Baron, what did you get there?
I can see it, but tell the folks at home.
Natural one.
Oh, no.
Is that auto fail?
That is.
Yes.
Fail.
That is the worst one to have yet again.
Pembroke, what'd you get?
24.
Pembroke's okay.
Four bears?
22.
Also okay.
Ferrazza?
21.
You're all right as well.
But your gunslinger is our only damage dealer.
Lost in reverie.
I'm going to say that that worm also appears as its movement.
So it does trill and then appears.
Now remember, any offensive action taken,
you get to roll that save again.
On my turn?
On your turn.
Not when it happens.
Yes, that's the way we did it last time.
We're going to play it, yeah.
So it is now Feyraza's turn.
Feyraza's turn. Feyraza!
Feyraza is going to
first cast
a little spell.
Maybe you've heard of it.
Called Flamestrike.
Oh, there you go.
Flamestrike!
It'll hit both of them.
Right? Let me just check to make sure.
Jerry, you're moving four bears around.
It's not your turn.
I'm trying to keep him on.
He wasn't on an even square.
Sorry.
Do you think you can get them both?
Are they within 20 feet of each other?
They are not.
So actually, no.
I will not cast Flame Strike.
Instead.
That's what they did to us with the Coat of Cold.
He's like, I'm not going to cast it yet.
I'm going to cast.
You've learned from the worms.
I've learned from the worms.
You are one with them. You truly are,'re not going to cast it yet. I'm going to cast... You've learned from the worms. I've learned from the worms. You are one with them.
You truly are, druid.
Don't you know about the worms.
Instead, I will cast Wall of Fire.
Oh, okay.
Show me where this wall is going to go.
It's going to go right there.
Oh, there.
I can't even see it.
Can you hear that, Benz?
There.
I'm going to draw it on roll 20 and then describe it.
Why is the wall green?
It's at the mouth of the tunnels.
You can choose a rank.
Across the mouth of the tunnels.
So you effectively block them from getting into melee with you.
One of them is caught in the wall.
The other one is pretty far away.
I don't think it's going to take any damage from the wall.
Not yet.
caught in the wall. The other one is pretty far away. I don't think it's going to take any damage from
the wall. Not yet. Now, don't forget,
this will prevent line of sight
for people shooting
ranged weapons or trying to
cast spells through there. Yeah.
They're also going to come through it. And you're fascinated.
I'm just throwing that out there.
And you can dispel on your turn. Talk to me about
the damage of the worm that is caught
in the wall of fire.
It's going to be 2d4. Okay.
2d4? No.
It's 2d6 plus your level
for the creature in the wall.
So the flames are directed towards them,
not towards you guys. So you guys don't take
any damage. No. Okay. So it's
going to be
18 points of damage.
Fire damage. Fire damage.
Okay. And yeah, that's it, right? Because the other one's far enough. I will. Fire damage. Okay.
And yeah, that's it, right?
Because the other one's
far enough.
I will let you know,
I healed them
just one night's rest.
Wow.
Oh, wow.
Okay.
Which for them is still a lot.
Okay.
Level plus their con.
All right.
But yeah,
that guy was hurt by that.
Feyraza,
do you want to move at all?
I would, in fact,
like to move.
I'm glad I asked. It is tradition for me to ask you. Feyraza, do you want to move at all? I would, in fact, like to move. Thank you. I'm glad I asked.
It is tradition for me to ask you.
Feyraza, a giant flying war cat will burrow into the ground and earth glide underneath
the wall of flame.
Wow.
Baller.
How far can you earth glide?
My movement speed, I assume.
Oh, shit.
But I don't need to go nearly that far.
They're pretty close.
Okay.
Look up earth glide, because sometimes it only lets you move in, like, ten-foot increments.
You have a burrow speed, I think.
Yeah, you usually gain a burrow speed with Earthglide.
Let's see what it says.
I know that it doesn't provoke an attack of opportunity.
I'm pretty sure about that.
You know what you should have just said, Troy?
Five feet, so I'll do it.
You can just burrow and stay underground, and then make your way.
Well, I could also walk up to the wall and burrow
About five feet
So I do that
Okay so you walk up to the wall
Burrow under it
And you're going to stay under there
And continue burrowing
Until you come out the other side
Or maybe you just come up in the way
Wall of flames
I don't want to play your character Matthew
I'll give you a round to think about it
It is four bears turn
Okay four bears is going to...
You know what?
He's not going to risk it.
He's just going to...
Sitting on your biscuit, never willing to risk it.
He's going to use his standard action to wake Baron out of the reverie.
Ah!
He's going to be like, don't let it happen again.
Shake him and get him unfascinated.
Okay.
I was enjoying that song, Four Bears.
Move action?
Yeah, move action.
And then, oh, sorry, that's standard.
And then he's going to move up to within five feet of the wall.
So basically anything that comes through the wall,
he wants it to not be able to get past him and have to stay in the wall.
You are yourself creating a wall.
Exactly.
So if it comes through the wall, it's going to all of a sudden be stopped,
and the back part of its body is still going to be in the wall.
Very, very cool.
I like where your head's at.
Pembroke.
Well, I had a plan, but I don't think it'll work.
Matthew Rowan did.
Matthew Rowan did.
No, no, no, no, no.
No, actually, everyone else did.
Oh.
But. Oh, and remember,. No, no, no, no, no. No, actually, everyone else did. Oh. But...
Oh, and remember, you're hasted, Matthew.
Yeah, you're hasted.
So you should be able to move twice as far.
Ten feet.
Ten feet underground.
Yeah, you can move right under the warmth.
I'll do just that.
You become intimate with under this floor here.
Just be careful.
I don't think that's the case.
Oh, it doesn't work for Burrow?
I think it's land speed.
I think it says that specifically.
I'll look it up. I think it says it increases your land speed
by 30 feet. Well, while you look at that,
what do you think in pounds?
Plan B?
Yeah. I don't know. I guess...
All hasted creatures'
modes of movement, including
Burrow, increase by 30
feet. Oh! Actually, to a maximum
of twice the subject's normal speed if using that form.
Yeah, so it is 10 feet.
Beautiful.
That's awesome.
Cool.
Very cool.
Climb, fly, swim.
That's really cool.
It's one of the greatest spells in the game.
Yeah, sure is.
It's the best.
If you don't take it, you're too proud.
So I can't see either worm right now, right?
No, because of Matthew's spellcasting.
Is that true?
Yes. It's opaque. Is that true? Yes.
It's opaque.
It's an opaque wall.
Yep.
Well, fly through the wall?
No.
Do you have any...
Was this fire on you?
I don't.
How tall is the room?
Is it 20 feet?
20 feet, yeah.
And how tall is the wall?
20 feet.
I thought it was a 10-foot-tall wall.
Sorry, guys.
I assumed you'd be able to fly over.
Well, that's why you read the spell descriptions.
Baron's giving it to you. Excuse me, Grant's
giving it to you. Hey, why don't you go be
unconscious and fascinated again?
Oh, that's cold. Oh, man, that's so cold.
That's cold. It's a good thing I got that cold
resistance. Because that was ice cold.
That was ice cold, Matthew.
Take 20 points off.
I think, alright, I'm going to
start casting some monster six.
Ah, classic.
Classic conjurer move.
We're going to a new round.
Let's call it round three.
And it's going to be the now unfascinated Baron.
Baron's going to hold his turn until he can see through this wall
or one of these worms comes through.
It's worm time.
You holding or ready?
All ready.
Well, no, because I want to just take my action if it comes through.
I don't want to just use one shot.
I want to go plop, plop, plop.
Plop, plop, plop.
Plop, plop, plop.
A little boozy.
All right.
Floor now recognizes magnitude, first of all.
Pop, pop.
This worm on the top, the one that cast Cone of Cold will move through the wall.
I'm going to go step by step here to make sure I don't...
All right, so five...
I'm moving the stupid war cat.
Five feet through.
Why is it stupid?
So that's going to be 17 points of damage.
Now, does it take damage as it continues to move?
Just one more time through the wall, yeah.
So it's done with taking damage.
Oh, so it takes damage at the beginning of the turn.
So get all the way out.
And then it takes damage...
For passing through the wall. All right, so 17 points... And it'll take damage again if it stays in takes damage at the beginning of the turn. And then it takes damage for passing through the wall.
And it'll take damage again if it stays in the wall through the start of the next turn.
I'm sure it knows, like, fire hurt.
It's not going to do that.
I don't know.
So then it takes damage going through.
Minimum damage, so 14 points of damage.
You rolled snake eyes?
I rolled snake eyes.
Box cut.
13 points of damage.
Fire damage.
Okay.
And now it is through, which provokes from Four Bears.
He has no weapon in his hand.
He has no weapon in his hand.
Yeah.
All right.
So it moves through.
It's in bad shape.
Oh, my God.
Imagine this giant worm creature comes through this purple fire.
Yeah.
It's licking flames off of it.
Four Bears holds up his shield.
Squints his eyes.
Let's see here.
Where was it?
It was right there, right?
So it moves through the wall and then moves a little bit north to create some distance between it and Four Bears.
And then goes to bite with Power Attack on.
Oh, boy.
Ooh.
Ooh, dear.
Ooh, dear.
30 to hit.
That's a hit. Okay. Ooh. Ooh, dear. Ooh, dear. 30 to hit. That's a hit.
Okay.
Okay.
This is going to be pretty juicy.
I'm not going to lie here.
I knew he was going to say juicy.
You knew juicy was the...
I knew juicy was the...
The Moe Juiced?
29 points of regular damage.
Okay?
Okay.
And then only 7 points of cold.
0 points of cold. Okay. Matthew then only seven points of cold. Zero points of cold.
Okay.
Matthew.
29.
But the key is it is chipping away at your resistance.
It's chipping away at the resistance.
Wait, and how much cold?
Seven?
Seven.
Seven points of cold.
So it was a one, two, two, two on the D6s.
Wow.
So not bad.
And that is its action.
Now it is the other worm's turn.
Do you want Baron to go after this other worm?
No, you can interrupt him if you'd like.
I'll interrupt.
I'll see this guy attack my good buddy.
Okay.
Take some hasted attacks.
Full attack.
That first one is absolutely a hit.
Flap, flap, flap.
Oh.
Okay, so we are talking about 20 points of regular damage and 6 points max fire damage.
Holy shit.
So 20 regular.
Uh-huh.
6 fire.
That's right.
This thing is in bad shape.
Oh, hell yeah.
Oh, okay.
Second attack is going to get up close and deadly if it's in bad shape.
Thanks for the info.
There we go.
Hopefully still a hit.
19 against Touch AC.
Yep, that's a hit.
All right.
Let's see how it goes.
Okay, I'll re-roll that one because it fell out.
Okay, this is going to be brutal.
15, 25 points of regular damage, 6 points of fire damage.
Is that your last shot?
No.
I have three more.
I have good news.
Wait, three more shots?
Because of haste.
Yeah, haste. I have rapid shot on. I could very well miss fire. Do you three more shots? Because of haste. Yeah, haste.
I have rapid shot on.
I could very well miss a fire.
Do you have five shots in a round?
One, two, three.
I have four shots.
I've taken two so far.
Two more shots.
Two more.
I apologize.
Well, I have good news.
I have bad news.
Oh, it's going to explode, isn't it?
And I have terrible news.
Uh-oh.
The good news is you killed one of the frost worms.
Yeah!
Oh, boy.
The bad news is it killed one of the frost worms. Yeah! Oh, boy. The bad news is it explodes.
I knew it!
Oh, man.
And it does, I mean, insane amounts of damage upon this explosion that will hit everyone except Feyraza.
Insane amounts of damage in a hundred foot radius.
Death throws, it's called.
Oh, God.
What is the deal with these creatures?
The terrible news.
We'll see you next week.
Oh, my God!
I hate you.
That really is terrible news.
I hate you.
Oh, my God.
I didn't lie.
I didn't lie.
I'm going to put you in the death throws.
Oh, my God.
