What you mean as far as what?
That's your line.
They are though.
They're very different.
You know that.
It's not.
It's extremely different.
Conversations you having about shit you said,
you wouldn't have them conversations 10 years ago.
You know that.
That's five years ago.
Not even 10.
Shit has changed, man.
Shit is different.
Are you having conversations about things you say?
Yeah. Absolutely. I have about things you say? Yeah.
I have been having them too.
Yeah. Absolutely.
And I ain't feeling the greatest about
them. About having the conversations?
I don't like them. I don't.
It depends on what I... You don't like the conversations about
the conversations? Yeah. I don't.
I don't.
It's tough.
It's not that it's tough
You know what it is
I feel like a lot of this shit
That we talk about
And a lot of this shit that happens
Is all
Just a
It's nothing new
I just think that we
Hear it and see it
More frequently now because of
Social media, phones, cameras
That's your other line
But no I do
Like I don't think any of this shit
Is really
Like when we see wild shit going on
People getting killed
I feel like this shit been happening
It's just that
It wasn't a way for you to see it
Like we wouldn't know what was going on
In Chicago
In the early 90s
Like we wouldn't see it
We wouldn't know
We wouldn't see it
Like when we saw
Boys in the Hood That was like our Or not even Boys in the early 90s like we wouldn't see it we wouldn't know we wouldn't see it like when we saw uh boys in the hood that was like our or not even boys in the hood um i forgot the name of the other
movie but that was like our depiction of what la was like we didn't know we because you wasn't there
if you're from new york it was like you weren't in la you didn't know so these movies kind of gave
you that feeling like damn that's how i go down to la that's what we going on now you can open
your phone and actually see real time shit that happens shit that's how I go down to L.A.? That's what be going on? Now you can open your phone and actually see real time
shit that happened,
shit that's going on,
shit that somebody said.
Now niggas is beefing on actual records,
like the music.
People are using the music
as ways to retaliate and beef now.
So it's like now things are just,
it's just we just receive shit quicker
and more frequently
than we would have years ago
because of technology
And it makes
You know
Our phones
Everybody is in the palm of their hand
We could click on anybody's Instagram
And just see what they got going on
Whereas before
We didn't
You know
You had to know
You had to know somebody
You had to actually be around that person
Like a lot of the things
That these kids do
When they're on the internet
Just doing shit to go viral
We used to do some of that shit
Growing up
Like we would throw eggs At people just walking Shopping on Halloween Like we would jump people I wasn't trying to go viral we used to do some of that shit growing up like we would throw eggs at
people just walking shopping on halloween like we would jump people i wasn't trying to go viral
well no we weren't trying to go viral because we didn't know what that was
we was just being young mischievous kids i knew what it was that's the q93 and i'm gonna hit it
with an egg right right right but right now yeah but now because you can record it and post
it to social media it might go viral because now people like oh that's what they doing over there
like bugging out like to us it was just a moment of fun and then we go back to our building like
i told a story about how we jumped the chinese delivery guy when we ordered like 200 worth of
chinese food like i said the irony and that is we weren't starving my mom cooked dinner every night
but we was just young on the block and just wanted to that was just our form of just apologize
i don't know the guy if he was listening right we were young we were young and he's probably a
listener yeah we were young and dumb i think he's listening right now or somebody related to him is
listening but what would you say to him? We apologized, man, back then.
You know, we knew what was going on.
Don't sound mad at him.
No, I mean, man.
But I was still.
We were sorry.
Yeah, we were young, man.
Yeah, man, right?
But now, shit like that will go viral.
Is he alive?
Did y'all kill him?
Yeah, no, no, no, no.
You sure?
Did you check?
It wasn't.
You don't even know, right?
It wasn't nothing like that.
So you don't think there's any difference in kids' behavior of just wanting to have fun
and trying to go viral?
Well, now, like I said, now is different. Because I think there's now is I think there's a huge difference don't ask him a serious question yet would you turn this would you turn
yourself in if you found out that you know you would g-dep yourself for the
China you gotta catch me never making it easy for the law well I don't think
there's any statute of limitations on jumping the Chinese guy I think you just
admitted to a crime Roy trying to get you jammed that's what they do Roy been for the law. Well, I don't think there's any statute of limitations on jumping the Chinese guy. I think you just admitted
to a crime.
Rory trying to get you jammed up.
That's what they do.
Rory Ben wanted you
off the pod.
That's what they do.
They try to get you jammed.
Get this thug off the streets.
He's stealing chicken wings.
But yeah, man,
now this go viral shit
is just, you know,
people just trying
to outstupid each other.
How you going to go viral?
What you going to do?
I'm not going to do nothing
outside of myself to go viral. No, hell no. Fuck out of here. I don't try to go viral? What you going to do? I'm not going to do nothing outside of myself to go viral.
No, hell no.
Fuck out of here.
I don't try to go viral.
You got to put $20,000 to your face.
It's a good idea.
Never.
Yeah, it's solid.
Maybe do one of the challenges that dances?
No.
You should create a challenge.
What would your challenge be, though?
The sleeping and money challenge.
Just throw $50,000 on the bed and swim, right?
The cool challenge.
Ooh.
Who could swim in 50 grand?
Just run around the city and go, yo, that's crazy, and then run away.
That's the challenge?
The yo, that's crazy challenge?
Yeah.
Nobody's doing that.
Just anyone.
You just see anything in the city.
Yo, that's crazy, and then you run away.
Mall challenge would be mad long.
What was the next?
Brought 50, not dollars either.
I brought some dough with me challenge.
Bet 50? No. I'm not dollars either. I brought some dough with me challenge. Bet 50?
No, I'm not doing that.
Nothing to go viral.
Maybe hopefully by the end of the podcast.
Maybe we should put out like a challenge.
We should do a challenge.
Yeah?
No?
How much of this Reggie I could get rid of?
Damn, I could play a song.
Yeah, play a song, man.
Smooth R&B.
For all of you people that tweet me all week and say,
Joe, enough with the fucking R&B.
They was sick of your shit last episode.
Hey.
Let's go, man.
What's this?
It's a vibe.
Vibe with me.
Yo, all I'm doing for 2021 is setting a vibe.
Curate.
You heard?
Curate.
Let's go, Karan
Let's get great on the beat, you know what I mean?
Mic check, one, two, one, two
Vibe with me, vibe with me
Shout out to everybody listening to their car in the shower right now
Oh, you know I'm on it, gotta have a snap in there Hey Listen to that car in the shower right now Don't wanna get lost Cause ain't no turning back
I'm afraid of nothing
I don't know just how to deal with that
Cause love ain't enough to make me
Take my ways
I don't wanna play those games
If I don't leave I know you'll stay
Don't want to wait around
If I'm in love with you
I don't wanna switch up on you
Fuck around and drive you crazy
Boy, they was sick of me last week, right?
Don't let it on me, shit
Why?
We changed lives last week, though
Did we?
Every one of those artists I played thanked us
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah
They thanked us
They retweeted.
They were grateful.
And it's good music.
You know what I'm saying?
I don't know why you're mad about that.
Yeah, I'm all for good music.
I don't care what it is.
It's good music.
And I like the vibe so much, I'm right back here
with new R&B, brand new Imani, bitch.
Mm.
Wait a minute!
All good, stay cool, turn it back.
Now, I saw a lot of people killing me last week,
because they was like, Joe's real excited about new music.
And all he said for the last six months was that nobody cares about new music.
The world doesn't care about new music.
Let me straighten this out for you fucking idiots.
Because I speak in context a lot.
My point was, there's a lot to cut through now.
If you're trying to put new music out
So you see a lot of people just doing promo bullshit
Cloud chasing, trying to go viral
Fake little packages surrounding the single that don't work
Bundles, it's a bunch of bullshit
But I'm hearing some music that's starting to cut through
I don't know
Ayy
Alright, they're not feeling me, they're not feeling me
Let's do something else
Let's do this then
Mic check one two one two one two one two
Let's do this then, finally a rapper's cutting through
Saying something I can feel, saying I want to hear during these trying times
Stop wondering why the bad bitches fuck with him she fuck with me cuz I dress good and I make her laugh. Come on, man. Stop wondering why the bad bitches fuck with him. She fuck with me because I dress good and I make her laugh.
Too important.
Fuck.
You heard what he said.
Later.
He went crazy on us.
I think this bit of album is next Friday.
Next Friday.
He puts out an album
almost every week.
He puts out an album
almost every week,
it feels like.
Lately, especially.
Curiously works hard. Play that game around here, you might get hurt now The South still got something to say, jet life all day
Self-made millionaire, I done that shit my own way
Life behind the mask, have the cause there
When we landsliding with my Instagram
For the record, if you're hearing this for the first time
This record is called Misty and there's no way to cut it off
Watch, cost a car, the car cost a house
Changing lives off a rapper, it's bigger than that, recalibrating than a tag
Cause the game change so fast, I think about my young homie
He be out on the app, he super talented
But he so in love with the streets, I swear it make me sad
I tell him about that shit like every chance I have
But I respect it, he a young boss and he in his bag
I hope the industry recognizes Superstar Flash
And he leave that life in the past No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, JABP boys bike to business I want to welcome everybody to what is this 418

Joe Budden Podcast, number one on SoundCloud.
In an alternate world, some might say we own at least seven of the top ten spots on SoundCloud.
Someone might say that.
Number one music podcast on Apple.
What else, man?
I feel like I got to say some of these things, man.
Just a bunch of good guys.
Number one in the story.
You know what I'm saying?
And number one in your hearts.

Most importantly, Rory, most importantly.
Just some guys that are forward thinkers.
Everybody here left their real jobs.
We're here.
We're dedicated.
We're committed.
We've taken some of our deal in Bitcoin and it's Bitcoin-ing.
We're forward thinkers.
We also somehow managed to turn our bonus content into another arm of business that projects to
be eight figures companies are not the only people that can project oh and it's somewhere
that we have equity now what were you guys saying i like it nah throw a gunshot on that I like it I've just been reading a lot it's been a lot of reading and niggas don't really
talk too much so everything is about the same that million that million and change every week all while switching platforms.
Stop playing with us.
How are you guys?
I'm hyped now.
I'm delighted.
Delighted.
Delighted on this snowy Friday.
Nasty out there.
I like it.
Me too.
I actually do.
If it's going to be cold, give me some snow.
It's winter.
And I don't mind talking about the weather.
Usually I say we have listeners outside of New York. but I think the whole world is frozen right now.
That's a good point.
Definitely 60% of America. It froze over in Houston.
It's for sure.
Yeah, love and prayers to Texas, man.
Yeah, absolutely.
That shit is just some wild shit going on out there.
That was a mistake, by the way.
You could throw a gunshot for Texas.
No, I'm not.
Why are you doing a Texas glove?
I mean, it's an open carry state.
They have their guns which they
enjoy they're a
little cold right now
but you know
shout out shout out
to Texas first to
you guys yeah for
real I shared some
stuff on my my
platform and how you
can help but yeah
I feel really bad for
them with the the
way the politicians
are acting towards
their plate as well
as that's got to be
rough Cancun
Cruz we pay for
your fucking salary.
We elected you into office
and you're saying,
go fuck yourself.
Are you new here?
Well, true.
Politicians.
Yeah.
Politicians every time.
Oh, I'm your humble,
grateful, gracious.
What's this shit?
What did I be saying?
You're highly favored.
I'm your humble, grateful,
gracious, and highly favored narcissistic host, Joe Button, here
with a few of my nearest and dearest.
Forward thinking.
Digital forecaster.
Head of equity, some shit.
I like your sweater today.
Oh, thank you, Rory.
It is nice.
It looks warm.
Is that cashmere?
No, it's not, but it does feel good.
Is it wool?
No.
I don't know what it is, but it's not wool, and it's not cashmere.
Okay.
You ain't got no t-shirt on under that?
That's nasty sauce.
You got a beater on.
If you ain't got no t-shirt on under that, that's nasty sauce.
I'm just letting you know right now.
If you ain't got no t-shirt on under that, that's nasty sauce.
I got a beater on.
A wife beater?
That's nasty sauce.
Wait, what?
Nasty.
You go bareback with the... No, I wear a wife beater under my A wife beater? That's nasty. Wait, what? Nasty. You go bareback with the...
No, I wear a wife beater under my sweaters.
A whole t-shirt?
Yeah, I wear a whole t-shirt.
I'm not a teenager.
You're supposed to wear a t-shirt.
I'm an adult.
You're supposed to wear a t-shirt.
Nah, because you don't want...
If it's wool or something,
then it's like itching on your shoulders and shit.
Trust me on this one.
You're supposed to wear...
You still wear a t-shirt under your polo, too.
You're supposed to wear a t-shirt
underneath your sweater.
And you are kind of supposed to wear one
underneath the polo, too.
For what it's worth. Yeah. All right, guys. That's all. But itshirt underneath your sweater. And you are kind of supposed to wear one underneath the polo too for what it's worth.
Yeah.
All right, guys.
That's all.
But it is a good sweater though.
It is a good sweater.
Riveting content.
Hey, man.
Gotta help him
with the sauce, man.
Savon, put on our Twitter,
let's do a poll.
Do you wear a wife beater
or a t-shirt
under your sweater?
I don't even wear it
to our polo.
And we can't,
we have to stop
saying wife beaters.
That is true.
They killed us about that about two years ago.
What's the proper term?
Tank top.
Tank top.
Okay.
A-shirt?
I've never seen it.
I'm not an A-shirt.
I've never seen A-shirt.
Isn't A-shirt a shirt?
I've never said A-shirt a day in my life.
And I won't start now.
It's confusing.
That terminology is confusing.
I got some real good guys here with me today.
Rory is here.
Parks is here. E-Rab is here. Maul is here. Savon is confusing. I got some real good guys here with me today. Rory is here. Parks is here.
E-Rab is here.
Maul is here.
Savon is here.
And Alex is here.
Gentlemen, how are you doing?
How are you feeling?
Great, because the greatest app in the world has got our back.
Brought to you by, powered by, empowered by, enabled by, tolerated by, sponsored by,
none other than our favorite app, Cash App.
So what's up, y'all?
The GOAT.
I've been getting a lot of use with the Cash App.
It's fun playing with the Bitcoins and the stocks.
It's nice, man.
You like it?
It's nice.
Yeah, yeah.
I'm having a little fun with it.
Okay.
I get better at it, but I feel like I'm getting the game that I should have been getting into
a long time ago.
2021.
My barber finally is taking cash out.
Nice.
But having to go to the ATM for 20 fucking years.
Finally, I can show to the barber shop without cash.
Peasantry.
It's great.
I don't keep cash on me anymore.
It kind of sucks.
The barber cash thing is kind of a nostalgic thing, though.
I think most barbers still appreciate cash.
I judge any barber who still is taking cash.
Judging on what?
Sounds like a good way to get out of taxes to me.
Yeah, I'm sure.
I'm just saying.
Because you have to adapt, and there are a lot of people that are not carrying cash at all now.
I know I used to think dudes was weirdos when they said that.
I used to think that, too.
Yeah, I used to think that. weirdos when they said that. I used to think that too. Yeah, I used to think that.
Something.
I don't keep nothing.
But now that I'm a little more educated, I understand why.
I think you should always keep cash on you.
I agree with you.
It just doesn't come up as much anymore.
Why do you think that?
Same way when we was in the airport and we were all in the store and the computers and everything went down
and you had food in your hand and couldn't get nothing because you didn't have cash i was the only one in the
store that had cash so at that moment i was king of the store how did that make you feel like did
you announce that you're a king of the store absolutely i stood right at the register said
ma'am do you need something did you grab a crown from the burger king next door no i just i just
i was just sitting there counting the same three hundred dollars like what's up man you mean
yeah exactly see he's gonna computers crash everybody gonna be sitting there like this the same $300. Like, what's up? You know what I mean? Who needs what? Yeah, who needs what? Yeah, exactly.
See?
When the computers crash,
everybody going to be sitting there like this.
For the loan?
He was the loan shark
of Hudson News?
I mean, come on.
I held Hudson News down
for seven minutes.
What you want me to do?
I was the king of Hudson News
for seven minutes.
Oh, Shops Hudson News
for goodness sake.
You know what I mean?
Yeah.
That is funny.
So you're not supposed
to carry cash because,
one, you spend it a lot faster
when you have it.
Like, you can't keep track of exactly what you spent it on.
And the older you get, they say you're supposed to just keep track of it all.
I'm the complete opposite with that.
If I have a lot of cash in my pocket, I don't spend it the way I would with my card because I can feel it in my pocket.
I agree with you.
And when it gets a little lower, I'm like, oh, I got to relax.
But you're not grabbing a receipt for everything that you purchase.
Well, I'm not regardless. That's true. I'm not regardless. Yeah, but at least when it's digital, lower, I'm like, oh, I got to relax. But you're not grabbing a receipt for everything that you purchase. Well, I'm not regardless.
That's true.
I'm not regardless.
Yeah, but at least when it's digital, you have a digital receipt somewhere.
You have a receipt somewhere, so all of your purchases can be tracked.
Well, back to taxes.
I'm only taking the time to explain this because I used to laugh at people for not carrying cash.
Me too.
And I was ignorant.
And the more I learned, I was like, okay, at least I understand why people aren't carrying cash. Me too. And I was ignorant, and the more I learned, I was like, okay, at least I understand
why people aren't carrying cash.
Like right now, I'm coming to grips with
not having money in your bank account.
Like all the people that I meet with money,
they don't have it just sitting so they could see it,
because they feel better when they could see it.
I was one of those people for a long time.
I'm just getting over that.
Like, all right, it's there.
You just can't see it.
It exists.
It's just not liquid to take out.
It shouldn't sit there.
Well, when you start
really making your money work,
your money doesn't sit in your account.
So I had to get over that feeling
once I made that transition.
Sitting there doing nothing?
Nothing at all.
Yeah, it's nasty.
No, they give you interest.
They give you a penny every month. This's gonna be fucking when we all it's coming what's coming
and i started doing some math over the weekend about just how long i could stay alive if i
changed some habits i might could see 2060 how old would you be in 2060 30 years from now yeah I think you could see 2060
alright
and if we talk about 2060
and what I think
the world will look like then
I might be around
to see some change
hopefully
2060
yeah
fam if nothing changed
in 2060
I'm just going out
like grandma
was like alright
y'all peace
take care of your
take care of your brothers
hold it down things will change by then yeah hey grandma was like hey y'all, peace. Take care of your brothers. Yeah, hopefully things won't change by then, yeah.
Hey, grandma was like, hey, y'all take care of each other, you hear?
Yeah.
I'm out of here.
Yo, I was on the couch so sad grandma was leaving.
She was in the bed chilling, ready to go.
Boy, that was admirable.
Yeah, she seen a lot.
Yeah, yeah, too much.
Ready to leave.
How y'all doing? Rest in peace, grandma, by the way. Yeah. She's seen a lot. Yeah. Yeah. Too much. Ready to leave. How y'all doing?
Rest in peace, grandma, by the way.
Rest in peace, granddaddy, while I'm at it.
Rest in peace to anybody out there who may have lost somebody that they love.
Shout out to anybody who's fighting depression.
I know times are hard right now.
Like we said earlier.
Shout out to people battling addiction and alcohol problems, man.
One of my friends has been hospitalized a couple times due to drinking during COVID.
So this is fucking scary shit, man.
Yeah.
Shout out to y'all.
Again, shout out to everybody in Texas.
Yeah.
What a week.
What a week.
We'll get into it.
And rest in peace to Prince Marky D.
Yes.
Yeah, absolutely.
That don't do it justice. Let me get on. Come on, man. I just got to Prince Markie D. Yes. That don't do it justice.
Let me get on.
Come on, listen.
I just got to do this real quick.
I know we got a lot of listeners out there.
Y'all wasn't listening to this.
Well, listen now.
I bought this single.
And I'm letting it rock to the chorus.
Sorry.
Rest in peace, Prince Markie D.
52 years old.
When you let your soul fly and now you're busted.
Sweetheart, we got a lot of you.
All right, never mind.
Disgust, kid.
Your relationship is withering.
Yo, come on, man.
You heard how he came on.
Before Aubrey.
Come here.
Say bye.
I always loved this kid. When the literature's so fly and now you bust it Sweetheart, we got a lot to discuss, kid
Your relationship is withering
Don't walk away from me, come hither and listen
Cause I speak straight up, so let me try
Sorry, baby, but your man ain't all that
Before you make me stop me, just wait a sec
And explain why you're always looking back
By now, yeah, he's all the way down
I'm mad at it, shattered
Dreams of you two being the perfect item
The feelings you have, try to fight them
Cause your man's a conniver, so stay alert
Mark my words, you're gonna get burned
Just a man of you two physically
I'm mad at it, shattered You need to swing my way, my way This man's a conniver. I bring the hook in.
Wait a minute.
Maybe a little later than that.
What happened?
What year?
93.
93?
Okay.
93, Prince Mark E.D.
Shorty Swing My Way.
It's crazy to see how much music has changed and how much it hasn't.
Mm-hmm.
Right.
Yeah.
That could rock now.
That beat, yeah.
The hook, too.
The hook, too.
The hook, too.
Yeah, that formula is still relevant today.
Oh, man.
We don't know the cause of death, right?
COD, no?
No.
No, I don't think so.
So now that's every pod that we've done since 2021 has started.
There's been a death.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, well, there's death every day.
So, you know, that's how how it happens I'd like there to stop
being so many notable
deaths
right
yes there are deaths
every day
well that's what happens
you know
that's part of
52 years old
yeah that's
that's really young
I didn't even know
that Prince Marky D
was only 52
super young
they were their kids
you know
when they blew up
like legit teenagers
and they were one of the first big rap groups like for real for real They were their kids, you know, when they blew up. Yeah. Like, legit teenagers. Mm-hmm.
And they were one of the first big rap groups, like, for real, for real.
Absolutely. Like, superstars.
Absolutely.
Before I knew really what hip-hop was and rap was in the 80s, I was a kid kid.
I knew who the Fat Boys was.
Right.
You know what I'm saying?
Mm-hmm.
Like, they were in TV shows, cartoons.
Yeah.
Everything.
No, they were superstars.
Yeah.
For sure.
Absolute superstars.
Multiple movies, multiple guest appearances in movies. everything they were superstars for sure absolute superstars multiple movies
multiple guest appearances
in movies
one of my favorite movies
going up
Disorderly
that was one of my favorites
hell yeah
you know what I mean
but yeah
Prince Marky D
man rest in peace
Rush Limbaugh
passed as well
I don't have much
to say about
that one
but he did pass
and it's my job
to let you know
who passed
this is also
the one year anniversary
of Pop Smoke's death.
I hate calling those anniversaries.
Yeah.
There needs to be
another term for that.
Death-iversary or something.
It just shouldn't be anniversary.
Yeah.
That year flew by
even with everything
that happened.
But I can't believe
it's been a year is it me or
like are there people out that sound like pop smoke of course it's not just me right
yeah he definitely um he he left a imprint and a style and a sound i think he is again
inspiration he inspired a sound for sure. And that happened before he passed.
Yeah.
People were imitating him prior to that.
And some say he was inspired.
His sound was inspired by other music, other genres as well.
Yeah, no, the UK stuff, for sure.
But I mean, he definitely added.
Add to the design to do something new.
Yeah.
He made it very Brooklyn, as did Fabio and the rest of the Brooklyn drill scene.
But Pop had that complete different tone in his voice that separated him from everybody.
I'm not so familiar with that young man you just showed in the screen, but he does sound
like Pop Smoke a little bit.
I don't know if that's on purpose or what.
When people do that in hip hop, I never know how to take it. I never know if it's on purpose or what. When people do that in hip-hop, I never know how to take it.
I never know if it's on purpose or not.
Kurok Ski from Fat Boyz is still alive, by the way.
Got it.
The third member.
Got it.
Yeah, like I never know.
Like when Gravy came out, I didn't know if that was just his voice
or if he was doing that on purpose.
Was that great?
No, Gorilla Black?
It's happened a few times.
I was going to ask Gravy.
I mean, Gravy played Biggie,
but I don't think he sounded like Biggie
when he really rapped.
It's a certain tone
and a certain just voice,
a texture that reminds you of other artists.
Shine with Big.
Yeah.
Although,
I don't think that stuck.
At first, I felt like he sounded like Big.
Yeah, but the more you listen to Shine,
they don't sound alike.
The more you listen to Shine, you're like, okay, no.
They don't sound alike.
Action with Ghostface.
Wes with Ghostface.
But then you talk to them.
Is that done on purpose?
That's your...
No, because that's where this is.
It's subconsciously.
It's subconsciously.
Like, it's not done.
I don't think these artists are trying to sound like anybody.
Oh, no.
I mean, first of all, you sound how you sound to some degree.
Right.
And then it's just a matter of what you do with the sound you know what i'm saying because
then some people end up sounding lyrically or whatever similar to the other person that they
may or not may not sound like and that's probably subconscious like this is how this record is
supposed to sound right because subconsciously that's how biggie or pop smoke or ghostface
sounded yeah i don't think they're hopefully not intentionally setting out to sound like them because subconsciously that's how Biggie or Pop Smoke or Ghostface sounded.
I don't think they're, hopefully not intentionally setting out to sound like them.
I realized that other people sound like Pop Smoke.
I was at a kickback and I had to aux.
What a mistake.
I had to aux at a kickback.
And I got lazy, so I stopped paying attention and like all the sleepy jams came on and it was
like girls there.
So that,
that wasn't a move that can go bad.
Yeah.
So I just did what any guy would do in this situation.
I just disconnected.
I didn't keep the tunes going or nothing.
I just stopped the music.
You bowed out graceful.
Sometimes you gotta do that.
And then,
and then the next person that grabbed the org,
she was a girl and she was younger.
She was 27 and she went right to drill.
I said,
why didn't I think of that?
Whoa,
changed the whole vibe
once Fabio came on.
Yeah,
that shit works.
No,
no,
yeah.
Girls like to drill.
Yeah.
You could have been the
I don't know,
they shake ass to it.
Yeah,
of course.
Hell yeah.
This is what it's made for.
I'm sitting here
trying to play
Victoria Monet and shit.
Nah,
you're going too.
Trying to make it romantic.
You're going romantic and they don't want romantic. Trying to make it romantic? Yeah, yeah.
They're going romantic
and they don't want romantic.
I'd be thinking
they still want some romance.
They want to get drilled.
Yeah, they want to get drilled.
But I'm scared
to go down that lane
when I have the auxiliary
because I know drill
on a surface level.
I know all the dope shit
that the rest of the city knows.
Yeah.
But then I'll be around women.
You can't get in your bag
that know drill.
I know women that get in their bag on drill.
Like, oh, you're just going to play that Favio hit record?
Right.
We've been listening to this eight months ago.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And now you that guy playing the hits.
Right.
That's nasty.
We're the old guys.
Yeah.
I know what the kids like.
I know I'm the old guy with the alls going.
I'm definitely that guy now.
With this drill shit, I'm very surfaced.
Yeah.
Very surfaced Yeah Very surfaced
She took that all
She's
Favo
Mubi
I was like oh
Old living room starts
Dancing around
I went upstairs
You got out of there
Yeah
I wasn't gonna be out
Done that way
Favi
Mubi
I was like whoa
That's when the ass
Will start bouncing
I went to get some ones.
I'm going to start making it rain in his living room.
Yeah.
Rest in peace, Pop Smoke.
Always.
So where do you want to begin?
Let's begin with rap lyrics.
Hip hop, hippity, the hip hop, the hippie, the hippie to the hip hip hop.
I wanted to chime in on this whole Meek Mill, Kobe lyric thing.
And I wanted to side with the people.
For those of you that don't know what we're talking about,
a song was released.
Was this a Lil Baby record?
I think it was a snippet, right?
A Lil Baby snippet came out featuring Meek
and Meek rapped a punchline that said,
what is it?
Where is it?
This bitch I'm fucking always telling me that she love me,
but she ain't never showed me.
Yeah, and if I ever lack,
I'm going out with my chopper,
it'd be another Kobe.
And all the blogs picked this up
and they said it was really insensitive,
distasteful,
just all around bad
and they tore his ass up for a little bit
in which he replied man y'all soft those weren't his exact words oh here are his exact words um
somebody promo a narrative and y'all follow it y'all internet antics cannot stop me
shit like zombie land or something lol they're paying to influence y'all now it's almost like mind control wake up
okay i mean he's not wrong he's not wrong in his statements i do think that the line was
probably a little bit insensitive but um he's not wrong in that you know his analysis is correct
but not in this instance okay that was it's an unnecessary bar the bar
wasn't dope enough where you had to talk about it this soon and i'm not being soft i'm just i'm
reading the room of just the time right now yeah it's not being so if it was a crazy like real bar
where it was like all right i get it the metaphor was way too fire it's not a great bar and it's unnecessary
I'm with you on that
that the bar wasn't
it didn't hit
like it wasn't like
a wow
and I'm not saying
it needs to be a lyrical
miracle
it's not a trash bar
but it's unnecessary
it's unnecessary
it is a trash bar
I wouldn't say it's a trash bar
only because
I'm not saying the punchline
Moe hear me out real quick
before you explain
I'm not saying that the punchline
is all the way trash okay I'm saying the bars punchline, Mo. Hear me out real quick before you explain. I'm not saying that the punchline is all the way trash.
Okay.
I'm saying the bars are trash, meaning bar one and bar two have nothing to do with it.
Zero.
That's what I'm getting at.
It was unnecessary.
You didn't even need to say it.
No, listen.
Maybe if bar one was different leading into your Kobe punch, I may feel different.
Well.
But bar one.
No, no, no.
My bitch is never, never, never. I didn't hear it. I didn't hear the record. I don't know how he led into that bar. I don't know how he came out of that bar. Kobe punch I may feel different Well But bar one No no no My bitches never
I didn't hear it
I didn't hear the record
I don't know how he
Led into that bar
I don't know how he
Came out of that bar
Well Park you had the snippet
Can you play it
So I don't know
Give me a second
But what I'm speaking to
Is the fact that people
Are killing
You're saying this is hip hop
And
It's a metaphor
It's hip hop
It's
I understand
I'm
Listen
That Kobe death
Like
Really
Like Hurt me me to my core.
Just like anybody else that grew up watching Kobe was a fan of him.
Prayers to his family, prayers to him and everybody else.
Lives were lost in that horrific accident.
But I don't think that this bar was a shot or trying to make fun of or make light of that.
I don't think so either.
I don't think so.
Do you guys want me to play it?
I think that the snippet
is literally only these two bars,
but let me play it.
I don't know if that changes anything,
but sometimes...
And I don't think that at all, bro.
I don't think it does.
No, no, rewind it.
Play the bar before it.
Oh, that's where it starts.
That's the only part of the show.
Yeah, see, that's what I'm saying.
We didn't hear the whole thing, but, you know, we have to listen to it.
Well, I can read it and see that bar one don't lead into bar two.
Because I felt the same way, but we don't know what he said before that,
and we don't know what he's saying coming out of that.
So I just, I don't want to get into that part of it.
But I do understand the internet reacting a certain way to it,
because you mentioned in kobe you mentioned in
you know the the accident and it's been a year we just got past you know the i don't like to
anniversary like you do in death but that just happened so i understand it but let's keep it in
what it is for a second it's hip-hop it's metaphors it's plays off of words is it hip
is it hip-hop today more it is that
the chopper the helicopter and the chopper that meek is referring to two totally different things
i understand so it's like you know i mean it's it's just a play on words it's a play on so you
don't think too soon maybe too soon i'm with you on that i'm not i'm not against that maybe too
lovable a guy i'm not against that either i'm not against that either. I'm not against that either. But we do have to remember that he's more so, I think when Meek was doing with that bar,
I was putting it in the sense of we lost the legend in that sense.
And if I'm caught lacking, I'm going out with my chopper.
It will be another.
We will lose another legend.
I understand the bar.
I completely understand the bar.
You know what I mean?
So it's like I can't kill Meek for that bar.
I'm not killing Meek either. I can't kill him. But the internet is. I can't kill him for for that bar. I'm not killing Meek either.
But the internet is.
I can't kill him for the bar because I've done it too many times.
Right.
And you don't mean no malice with it, though.
I don't think Meek did either.
I also was in a different era of hip hop.
True.
True.
I don't know if I would be able to do some of that today, nor do do i know if i would today maybe i'm still not gonna knock him
for it because you were mcu come from that that's what we do right i mean that's our brains are
wired to to do that especially if people of a certain age because in in our age bracket all of
us in the room really especially shock value bars was a thing.
Absolutely.
I grew up on shock value bars.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But it took me,
it has also never been this shock.
And I think he would even say he's not this shock value bar,
nor is he the punchline guy.
Um,
what do you mean by that?
By Lloyd Banks,
this,
this era,
fabulous Joe button,
but big L,
but yeah,
but I can't, I can't. I can't. Okay. So he doesn't era he is. Joe Budden. Big L. Lord Finesse.
Happy birthday to Finesse.
He doesn't do that.
Happy birthday to Lord Finesse.
Happy birthday to the legend Lord Finesse.
But Meek doesn't...
See, Meek comes from battle rap.
So he is a punchline guy
because he comes from battle rap.
In the sense that you're speaking in his music,
no, he don't lean heavy on punchlines.
That ain't his. He don't lean heavy on punchlines he don't lean heavy on punch lines i get that but he he he he can't get into that but when you pop
out with one again i'm not gonna kill him for it but when you pop out with one it should hit a
certain way i get it and and more it took me a long time it took me a long time and i maybe still
don't have this down pack trust me i'm not most mature guy. But it took me a long time to handle things better,
understanding someone else's position.
And what I mean by that is, it's kids involved.
I would hate to wrap this line, and one of the kids is a fan of mine,
and now they hear it, and now that's how they heard it.
Fab was telling a story one time uh
in an interview and he was like he said a line about solange and then he went to a party and
beyonce stepped to him like okay like dog come on nigga what is you doing right that was like oh
it's a punch it's like that good yeah but when you thinking like the other person's listening. You understand. Probably.
It might handle how you.
I understand.
So we know Meek.
I'm on the side.
We know Meek is a sportsman.
We know Meek is a Kobe fan.
Exactly.
That's why I'm on the side of too soon.
You know, too, you know, maybe a little insensitive.
I don't ever want MCs to have to think about that too, though.
Yeah, because that's not. Like I get, of course, Beyonce is have to think about that too though yeah because that's not
like I get
of course Beyonce
is going to care about
her little sister
and approach
who she has
in association with
like come on
that's my sister
but I hope rappers
don't have to
think that
I just think this one
and I'm not
killing Meek for it
Meek shouldn't be cancelled
I just think it was
bad timing
like it was unnecessary
I'm not mad at that
I'm not mad
dad I'm not mad
let me respond to Rory yeah me neither I'm with you but I'm a fan I'm not mad at that I'm not mad but let me respond to Rory
yeah me neither
I'm with you
but I'm a fan
I'm not a rapper
so this is a selfish fan point
right
I'm with you
and again I'm asking questions
to be educated
I haven't put an album out
in five years
hip hop today
they just drove that girl
Mulatto through the mud
for her name
yeah
like I'm just asking hip hop today maybe you do have to do They just drove that girl, Mulatto, through the mud for her name. Yeah. Like,
I'm just asking,
hip hop today,
maybe you do have to do
more thinking
than we're used to.
And you know what
I'll tell you though,
and I don't know if this is a second point.
Which is why I would fail.
I don't know if this is a second point.
I would get canceled.
Mulatto was bigger because of it.
Because of name change?
That started her career.
Yeah, I would say that.
To the next level,
that took her to the next level.
Well, it gave her- From where she was. It gave her a level from where she was of course she had great records
and people fucked with her
that put her
that put eyes on her
and because she made good music
it helped
because she got all that attention
and also had a good catalog
I understand what you're saying
I do but she
I don't think she's had really a hit
with her name change yet
has she?
I don't know if she's really
put out
she didn't put out no music it just happened I know that's what I'm saying that's why I don't know if she's really put out she didn't put out that's why I don't know
if it's taking
to the next level yet
Rory's just saying
that it helped her
create like
new listenerships
like new
more people are
paying attention to
Big Lotto
I'll call her Big Lotto
I like that name
I just think that's
fly for a girl
I like that name
Big Lotto's a dope for a girl
let me call you a groupie
I'm not a groupie
Big Lotto happens to be a very talented artist, so that helps when you get that attention
and you have the talent to back it up.
Yeah.
That doesn't always work with everyone when they get that quick attention on the timeline
for two days, and then it's just like, whatever, let me go find the next thing that's going
to make me get attention.
Right.
But again, Meek, I get it it but i just think it was bad time see i don't
like the bar but i like his stance on it like standing his ground no i'm rapping for sure
fuck this i like that and he did put out a post uh saying rest in honoring kobe bryant kobe and
gg bryant uh their signature on the hat saying rest in peace on the dream chasers hat so he did do that listen I'm not Meek did not have any malice behind yeah I'm not like I said I
don't I don't know Meek on a super personal level but I'm more than positive he did not mean any
malice or disrespect to Kobe his family any of the other victims any of their families I don't
Meek didn't he didn't intend any disrespect and this single is still not out right but you can be
disrespectful unintentionally absolutely so some of this all might be a little bit of marketing
by the way and that's my other thing too right like like when you when any record sounds like
a marvin gaye sample rory a jump uh joke and say ah careful now careful that if the family's coming
to get you we make that joke because we've seen a few instances
where the family will come and get you right right we see what vanessa bryan is on as far as she's
not playing she's not playing she's not playing with kobe's name his likeness none of y'all nike
who the ring all whoever all of y'all we We know she's not playing, right? So we can imagine that if she heard it, maybe she wouldn't take kindly to it.
Oh, absolutely.
So you can be unintentionally distasteful.
Absolutely.
No, you can be unintentionally distasteful for sure.
And if Meek saw Vanessa Bryant and she said something to him the way that Beyonce said something to Fab,
I don't think Meek would double down.
I think he would apologize.
I think Meek would double down i think he would apologize i think i'm willing
i'm willing to go as far as to say when this song comes out this line won't even be on it
because i think i think meek is that i think meek is that type of guy i think if if vanessa brian or
anybody from kobe's family was to reach out or publicly you know express how they felt about
hearing that i one million percent meek would
take that line out and change it and apologize like he because meek is not i get everything
he's going through in the past few weeks he's not the favorite in the room sure i understand that
but we're not gonna sit and act like meek is just some terrible guy like he's not you know
i'm saying and i think that's what unfortunately starts to happen is you know one thing happens
something else happens.
And then now it's like, oh, this guy's a piece of shit.
He's an asshole.
He's insensitive.
He doesn't give a fuck.
He doesn't.
I think part of it probably, too, is that people with the whole prison reform agenda that he was on, rightfully so, because he was going through it.
I think people thought maybe that you would see a different kind of maturity in the artistry maybe or something, which is probably unfair.
It is unfair.
Well, he has rapped about that for sure. For sure. That doesn't mean he can't
also do other shit. I still
want party record, Meek. Right.
But I think that people maybe in the back
of their heads feel like he should be doing 444 now
or something like that, which that's not him.
That's not him. And again, we
got to stop putting people
in positions that they're not ready to be in.
I think that's the bigger conversation here.
Like, I feel like a lot of the shit that Meek has going on, he was kind of pushed into it.
I don't think he naturally grew into a lot of these situations.
You know what I'm saying?
Yeah.
Even in personal relationships, I think things happen in his life.
He wasn't ready for certain things yet.
And none of us, you know, all of us, that's part of growing and maturing and becoming a man.
Especially if you have all these eyes and ears on you.
It's like any wrong move and you can become the villain.
Right.
And I think that's what's happening to Meek now.
Like some weird way he's starting to look like he's the villain now.
And I don't think that's who Meek is.
Okay.
I'm not going back to argue.
I heard the fans.
We do have to close Meek at some point.
We will quickly.
This is a bigger conversation than just Meek.
I heard the fans.
Y'all thought I was annoying last week with the Meek thing.
I understood.
I listened back.
I sounded annoying.
I apologize.
You were annoying.
I agree.
I agree.
What was the Meek thing last week?
I do want to ask if there is any hypocrisy in what you're saying. Because it is kind of what I was saying with Meek is still going to be Meek.
And granted, he was coming out of a restaurant, from what I understand.
It wasn't the club.
I went back and looked.
You were saying Meek shouldn't be nowhere near any club restaurant that Tekashi69 can sit outside of.
You're also, you guys are saying that Meek is still himself and he's not ready for
certain roles and he's easing into this type of thing kind of what i'm saying with meek is going
to go where he's going to want to go meek likes to hang out where the young kids is at because
he still makes that type of music meek likes to still do what meek likes to do no i understand
that part so is there any no i understand you feel anything what i said last week and i'm not
i'm not being annoying I was being annoying last week
I wasn't totally against
What you were saying
I think we just kind of
Misunderstood what we were saying
I was just saying
To the point of
Once Meek exited
That
Or was walking out
Of that parking lot
The moment he sees this dude
He was supposed to immediately
Run
For lack of better
I wouldn't say I wouldn't say run.
I would say retreat, go back inside,
tell whoever is in charge of the venue,
listen, clear that out.
I'm not going out there to my car
until that dude is gone.
Because you know with that moment
or that energy,
you know what they want in that moment.
You know what he's looking for.
You can't give them that.
That's all I was trying to say.
You can't give them that moment because they're on a, he's on a different path than Meek.
He's in different relationships than Meek.
Meek has a different responsibility than he has.
And I'm just saying where they're both from and the paths they're on that are different, they can still cross.
No, you, absolutely.
That's all.
Absolutely.
We all live in the same world.
We can cross.
That's why
the internet is the portal to hell because i agree with both you guys uh meek should have ran from
that situation and the internet would have killed him and said look at me running that's why i said
i wouldn't say run but definitely go back inside and be like yo i'm not going out there like no
matter what meek was going to lose in that situation just for walking to his car right
how many rapper paths do y'all want to run across today like other artists i think they're
intertwined to some degree not many i don't want to run across too many rappers regardless
only because there's just two different type of you know let me not even say artists but
entertainer this is a good conversation it's just not me i like that we bumped into like if i went
to pergola i wouldn't mind if slack slack black was there hey black oh god who is slack black
cool guy slack black cool guy anybody from lvrn lrnv lvrn anybody from there summer i'd be cool
with all that snow brandy and r&b maybe i can't name too many rappers that when they're pergola
i'm gonna be i don't want to go to per to parole any young rappers yeah look at what Joe now I wouldn't mind if Brandi was at per gola
of course didn't I don't think nobody would mind hanging out I was talking
about what Joe no no but you know what it is too it's just the rapper the way
the rapper lifestyle the way rappers move around the way they you know me
like it's like you know they gonna show up with 20 of the homies yeah and you never mad at that because i'm from that
i understand what that is like you just rappers move around differently well i think that was
an interesting point that joe brought up of paths you'll cross with other rappers if you're on a
different path i think especially with covid where certain events in certain areas there's only so
much money to get in certain areas.
It doesn't matter if you're on a different path,
you may end up there at a completely different type of events,
but in the same city and you may come across that path.
Absolutely.
That's going to happen within hip hop.
I don't care if you're the most conscious rapper on earth or the most,
I'm about it,
about it.
I don't even like to rap.
I just want to kill people.
It's going to happen.
Sometimes you end up in the same room with people. You like, what the just want to kill people. Yeah. It's going to happen. Sometimes you end up in the same room with people.
You're like, what the fuck am I doing in this room?
It's going to happen no matter what.
But my thing is, you know.
I'm leaving that room.
Yeah, exactly.
You know when it's like, nah, I'm out of here.
No, I'm saying you can leave.
I'm just suggesting that the room may exist.
It does.
Where you end up in it.
Oh, no, it absolutely does.
You just have to have the wherewithal of when to leave.
I ain't letting Rory do that that easy.
Don't say, I'm not saying niggas can't leave.
Well, you didn't say niggas, but...
No, niggas never leave.
No, sometimes people leave.
That's totally not true.
Not often, but sometimes they do.
It is not often where people leave.
They stick around till the lights cut on,
till the bitches go outside,
till you can drive.
Well, not anymore.
But you drive around, you wait,
you sit outside, parking lot,
but nobody ever leaves
that's how it happens
niggas ain't leaving
but that's what I'm saying
the smart ones know
when it's time to leave
I told y'all a few years ago
I was in Starlets
and one of the little
shooters from the gang
was throwing up gang signs
to Beyonce
Beyonce was in Starlets?
no
the song was on
I might be young
cause I'm ready
oh yeah started banging
yeah
I'm gonna go
yeah
he let you know
rep the set
there's time
there's time
no he let me know
more than that
he let me know
that guns were stashed
outside
yeah
all with his hands
yeah
to Beyonce
no I'm leaving
it's time to go
I don't want to stick around
sorry
but see that's not a good that's not a good example cause the strip club Yeah, to Beyonce. No, I'm leaving. It's time to go. I don't want to stick around there. It's getting more cold. Sorry.
But see, that's not a good example
because the strip club is the strip club.
Everybody goes to the strip club.
Anywhere where all the rappers frequent,
I don't want to go.
But you go.
No.
Starlets is a spot.
You go to the strip clubs.
I don't see all the rappers in Starlets.
No, I see in Starlets, Uzi.
Okay.
Who I want to talk about, actually.
You want to talk about Uzi?
Yeah.
What do you got for us?
I'm going to tell you something I heard.
Okay.
Don't attack me for this.
Chatty Patty.
I will not attack you for this.
I'm going to tell you something I heard.
It's a safe space.
Maybe some exaggeration on it.
Okay.
I overheard someone telling me that they heard some of Uzi's project that he's working on. Okay. I overheard someone telling me that they've heard some
of Uzi's project
that he's working on.
Okay.
Right?
You follow me?
Sure.
They said it sounds like
his version of Thriller
off the wall.
What does that mean?
Like when people say
his version of Thriller,
his version of Well, version of who was well
that's what i said i'm not gonna tell you i know but you have to say names but were they uh 22 no
this was a grown no listen this was a grown adult this was an adult someone older than me
someone who admittedly wasn't so familiar with uzi's body work. They didn't work for his label.
No, not at all.
So when they said that,
I immediately asked myself the same thing Park said,
like, what the fuck does that mean?
Do you mean he made the greatest album of all time
or some shit?
So the person then started to tell me
so much vulnerability on whatever Uzi is working on.
Like, he's really getting into his shortcomings with women.
Yeah, I don't know if being vulnerable.
Thriller off the wall, one of them.
I don't know.
I don't find either of them to be particularly vulnerable.
They're disco records for the most part, but whatever.
I see what you're.
Well, what was explained to me,
well,
maybe because of his vulnerability
and him expressing
whatever he's dealing with,
going through with women,
that this was his best body of work so far.
Okay.
Okay,
that's,
okay.
His thriller and his best album,
not,
two different things.
His masterpiece.
Yes.
His masterpiece.
I think that's what,
I think that's what the person was saying.
I'm not mad at the person feeling like that.
Maybe that's how they feel about it.
No, no, no.
It's coming out.
We'll know.
I'm not mad at it either.
I mean, and I don't think I'm Uzi's target audience, but I'm not mad at that take either.
This is where it got interesting.
They then started to tell me about a few A-list artists that were just hanging around Uzi.
Stopping by the studio.
Dapping them up.
Shooting the shit.
They call that the stew in the business. Talking.
That's what they call it.
Sharing ideas.
Oh, yes.
Listening to unreleased music.
You play yours, I'll play mine.
We'll do a little bit of that.
Linking and building is what they called it
a couple years ago.
Yeah.
But let's unpack it today.
Okay.
What the person was trying to tell me, I think,
was that in the next however many months,
a few niggas that we think got the mojo lost it.
And they are trying to suck it out of Uzi.
They're stopping by the studio playing best friend.
Oh, that old Lou.
Hey, let me hear what you got.
Text me.
Hey, such and such and such.
Linking and building.
But what this person said
was that these niggas
that's stopping by
lost it.
Ain't no more sauce, nigga.
Now, I can't tell y'all
the names.
Okay.
Because y'all think
that I'm a nut.
How could these people
have lost it
and be sucking Uzi juice?
But what I'll say is
I wasn't so shocked when he said it.
I have an idea who it is.
I could kind of see a few niggas doing that.
And I'm not all the way familiar with Uzi sauce.
All I know is,
when I go in Starlet,
he a stand up nigga.
And niggas at the back minding his business,
throwing a bunch of money,
fucking with the bitches,
security. It's not a scene. It's not a lot going on. He to himself. And niggas at the back Minding his business Throwing a bunch of money Fucking with the bitches Security
It's not a scene
It's not a lot going on
He to himself
I like how he move
When I see him
I like Uzi
I like Uzi in that sense
Like he does what he does
He pops out when he wants
And then when he drops music
He drops a bomb
He streams a whole
Shit ton of records
He sells a bunch of records
And he's a rock star
He performs
It's in stadiums Like he's a rock star he performs it's in stadiums like he
he's a rock star i love uzi and he does he moves on his own accord he's not trying to be nobody
he's he's himself i just didn't like the diamond in the forehead thing because i thought it was
just a little clout chasey and i don't think he needs clout because he's dope without that type
of shit but i feel like uzi would do that whether he was famous or not and had the bread
okay it wouldn't have been a diamond like that,
but okay, yeah.
I'm saying if he had the bread.
Which is why I'm not mad at it,
but I'm like, ah.
I don't think he would do it for that.
He doesn't strike me as a stretch.
I don't want to talk about his
jewelry and his forehead.
It's just a stretch.
I just wanted to tell y'all
that people that we didn't expect
allegedly are trying to steal
some of that sauce.
Well, you know what they're doing, Joe?
They're creating chords in Uzi
that he's not aware of.
That's why you have to get your chords cut.
That boy preaching. I'm serious.
People create chords.
Subconsciously suck energy out of you.
You just don't know it.
It's good to hear that that's the type of shit
Uzi is on. Again, I'm not Uzi's target audience.
His last album that I know everyone loves,
so don't even mind me. I'm not even being a hater. Sounded like more of the same that was coming out. I felt Uzi didn on. Again, I'm not Uzi's target audience. His last album that I know everyone loves, so don't even mind me. I'm not even being a hater.
Sounded like more of the same that was coming out.
I felt Uzi didn't have to follow the sound that was of the time.
So I hope that his thriller is just different.
His thriller.
Yeah.
But the thing is, we'll get the music and we'll be able to talk about it and unpack it and dissect it and do whatever.
But Uzi's talent level is
it's incredible yeah he's a he's a super talented person so that that doesn't shock me that they
feel like this is his best work but make your own sauce yeah make your own sauce the first time
artists have done that yeah we speak about that a lot though your shit no but no we don't talk
about it enough i don't think but there's legendary artists that do that. That's why I'm saying we don't talk about it enough.
But no, but you pull and pull from-
All we ever say is, oh, nah, they got similar styles.
No, they don't.
No, they don't.
No, no, no.
We definitely spoke about niggas being around niggas just trying to get hot and trying to
get some of that sauce on them.
We spoke-
I'm watching.
During the Dreamville shit, I think we had that type of talk when everybody was at the studio.
Yeah.
We kind of talked about
people hanging out
at studio sessions
acting like they're friends.
It's like,
y'all niggas really
just trying to get hot.
Yo, did we get all the music
from that?
Yeah.
I believe so.
Two albums.
And both were great.
That's it?
Well, I mean,
two albums.
A lot of records came from that
that ended up on other albums.
A double disc
and a bunch of records that ended up on other artists. That's a great week. Yeah, they put out a lot of records came from that That's what they did That ended up on other albums A double disc And a bunch of records
That ended up on other artists
That's a great week
Yeah they put out a lot of music
Wait give me one more time
Two albums
What two albums?
The two Dreamville compilations
Yeah
The Deluxe was a whole new album
Yeah
It's like 14 other records
Got it
I forgot about that
No we got a lot of music from that
We got a lot of music
And a bunch of records
That weren't on the Dreamville joint
That were just on artists
Yeah I'm sure
Some of this Village Village
That came out was from there I'm sure Everyone that was there Got a record that weren't on the Dreamville joint that were just on artists. Yeah, I'm sure some of this Village Village that came out was from there.
I'm sure.
Everyone that was there got a record that they took for the M.C.
Let me not say nothing to piss nobody off.
Oh, you're changing.
You changed.
You've changed.
Apparently, I don't know how to speak to people.
What?
That's what they're saying.
Who would say such a thing?
People are saying that.
What a hot take.
You don't know how to speak to people?
Yeah.
People are saying that. No a hot take. You don't know how to speak to people? Yeah. People are saying that.
No, you know how to speak.
I think that sometimes you just jump out there and say certain things that's like, okay,
that was a little too much.
But you know how to speak to people because you're well-spoken.
You know how to speak to people.
No, that's not what they mean.
You just don't have a filter sometimes.
And how to speak to certain people.
I get it.
No, I know this dude better than anybody
in this room.
Trust me.
He knows how to speak to people.
It's just that sometimes
it's just a little too aggressive.
What's your name?
Joe, man.
Most of the way you know me
Moe has such the wrong impression of Joe
What impression do you have?
What impression
Whatever impression he has
Whatever impression he has
Let's talk about that
What impression you think I have of you?
It's all wrong
That ain't answering the question
It's honestly
What impression do you think I have of you?
You think I fucked girls I didn't fuck
I know you did Facts Look at the first impression you picked think I have of you? You think I fucked girls I didn't fuck?
I know you did.
Facts.
Look at the first impression you picked.
Facts.
I know you did.
That's not true.
I know you did.
Prove it.
I can't.
I'm going to record you fucking.
Favi.
Movie.
Yeah, next time.
Exactly.
Wrong impression.
You got the right impression.
You think I don't know how to speak to people. You think I was maybe the 175th best rapper in the world. I said you don't know how to speak to people. You think I was maybe the 175th best rapper in the world.
I said you don't know how to speak to people?
You just have a lot of false impressions about me.
And because you've known me for so long, when you speak, people take your word as bond.
And it's not bond.
It's creed.
But Joe, we have the proof in the world to look at.
Proof in the world.
See, you're one of those people.
You think that if you don't do nothing anymore, that that's not who you are.
That's still a part of you.
It's still something you did, something you said.
It's just that you don't act like that anymore.
That's all.
But you're the type of guy, you're like, oh, no, I don't do that no more.
You just did it two weeks ago.
No, I think that my past is immortalized so much that it acts as my present sometimes.
Like the Joe Budden Fitz page.
It can in the world.
It's like, oh, look at these fits.
Look at this.
She's getting crazy.
Yo, I was a legend.
All right, that's what I mean.
I couldn't dress.
But my bad outfits are immortalized today still.
But you still can't dress.
And you take on of that.
You say that.
You say you can't dress. I'm not the the side of that. You say that. You say you can't dress.
I'm not the best dresser.
So what are we talking about?
So that was just an error.
I was looking at Rene Rucci's guy today.
I was like, this guy can dress a little bit.
Who's Rene Rucci?
I don't know who that is.
I don't watch all the shows that you watch.
A rapper.
She's a rapper?
Mm-hmm.
Oh, I don't know who that is.
Either.
She's a rapper from South Carolina.
I spoke about her on the show before.
I think she's down with QC and them.
Oh, okay.
Shout out to her.
I'm not familiar with her work yet.
And her man that can dress.
Yeah.
When you don't do something good as a man,
you notice when other men do it good.
Like, I make fun of your little outfits,
but they're cute little outfits.
Like, whatever this fatigue shit you got on is.
Cute little outfits.
Cute little Jasmine's ass.
A little number
you put together.
You match the hat
with the,
I see what you did.
Yeah.
You do that better than me.
I don't go to the closet
and you know what I mean?
I don't do that.
It's okay.
Rene Rucci's man
knows how to dress a little bit.
Biggs,
I really like the way
your brother dresses.
Your brother's on,
your brother's on my
best dressed men's list.
Yeah.
I said, Sugar Ray is on it.
Niggas laughing at me.
Like, there's a few men I think, dude, they know how to dress.
Sugar Ray?
Not Sugar Ray.
Sugar Jay.
Oh, okay, okay.
Yeah.
You have this list written down?
Can you do it?
I'm not going in.
Huh?
Nothing.
A list to have right now?
No, do you have it written down?
Like, is this something you add on to?
No, but you know certain people that can dress.
Of course I do. So why are you trying to make fun of me right now?, but you know, sir. You know, sir, people that can dress. Of course I do.
So why are you trying
to make fun of me right now?
Because I like to make fun of you.
Because I know men that can dress.
You know, you know the fun.
Like, say, Vaughn's.
The person that was your stylist
was my best friend.
I'm not you.
Just gave him my ass.
That's not you.
Not you.
You think you can dress?
Don't do that to Sabo.
Don't do that.
He chilling.
As a bad dresser, I got to highlight other bad dressers.
You know what?
He's stealing your sauce.
What'd you say?
My work lay.
Mine too, nigga.
It's my work lay.
Yo, but you know what?
Don't do that, Savon.
I've seen you on tour when we wasn't working.
Your lays was trash.
I'm always working.
You hear?
Let them niggas get that shit off.
Get your shit off.
I'm always working.
Never not working
Remember when niggas
Was never not working
He was working
In the Denver club
Yeah that was work
He doubled back
Overtime
Savon you brought
Some of the ugliest women
To our VIP section
I'm right
We've been through this
Just let them
But why
Don't do it again
Those are his friends
Don't bring your ugly friends
To our VIP section
And ugly girls
Are usually super cool.
So yeah, they can be cool behind the velvet rope.
Okay.
Okay.
I got it.
They ain't got to step.
They ain't got to come back in.
I came back to my yo, y'all make some room.
No.
Yo, move over.
We were already fucking.
Yeah.
I got these joints coming by.
Yeah.
I got these.
I got like five joints.
Niggas love throwing that number out, and then it really be only one.
I got like five joints coming through.
Oh, and guess what?
They all ready.
They got to be ready, right?
I'm so glad that coach is over with.
They ready?
They ready?
Get the fuck out of here.
I will admit, I've definitely used that line before.
Everybody has.
Everybody has.
Anytime Maul used to come in the room,
yo, let me get the keys
to the Escalade for a minute.
Yeah, she ready.
What happened?
Stay ready.
Yeah.
Wait, really?
Already?
I mean, here then.
I had to go to the supermarket.
No, no, but when I say they ready,
no, when I say they ready,
I didn't ready.
Definitely not ready.
I already looked at the oven.
It's ready.
You got to look through the glass
in the oven.
The funniest part
ain't even the ready part.
It's when it doesn't happen and they all leave and then all your friends look
at you like those were the ones that were that was ready yeah and then you sit there like nah
y'all is whack no but no but you have to know you learn early that your taste and other men's taste
is different for sure like i have a cousin that's like yo it's like eight bitches in his crazy eye
you pull up you'd be like yo this was the eight you was talking about?
Yo, fam, these women are terrible.
I'm going back home.
Sometimes the five that are ready, they're ready for him.
Yeah.
Like, he'll do that.
Exactly.
I'm not, no.
You're not ready.
I'm going home.
I'm not ready.
They're ready.
That's ready just means they're willing to fuck you.
It doesn't mean I want to do it.
Now the chicks will just tell you, yeah, I'm ready.
I'll be sitting in shock like,
so soon?
Yeah.
Wow.
Get to know me.
Yeah, what are you doing?
You just got here.
Take your coat off.
Chill for a minute.
Nah, they ready.
Nah, don't be too ready with me
because I get scared
and get unready.
Yeah, being too ready is scary.
If you're too ready,
that's a thing.
Because I'm not sexy enough
for you to be this ready.
Yeah.
You shouldn't be this ready.
I take it talking, too.
I need that.
Yeah, you got to warm it up.
You got to put me up a little bit.
Yeah, absolutely.
Why not?
I feel comfortable with you.
A little foreplay.
Yeah, I'm not seeing where I land with the ready chicks anymore.
Now, they're all either dating the dope boy rapper.
He sells dope and he raps?
Both.
Okay.
They're either dating that person.
Wait, that's happening now?
That never happened before?
Or they're dating like attractive athletes.
It's like, hey, retired rappers right here.
What's the vibe?
So attractive athlete, dope boy, or rapper.
Wow, times have changed.
What is going on?
Look at the landscape.
Yeah, you got to look at the landscape.
The growth.
The 90s would never.
How are the mailmen getting chicks?
Dropping the mail off.
Right.
Want your mail?
Sign for this.
Want your mail?
Call me.
Yeah, call me if you want your Amazon package.
I seen a video yesterday of this me if you want your Amazon package.
I seen a video yesterday of this dude trying to
steal an Amazon package
off a dude's doorstep.
It's every day.
Pulled that chop out
on his ass, huh?
Yeah.
Put my shit back.
He's like, yo, my fault,
OG.
It turned into OG.
Yo, OG, my fault.
I ain't even mean.
That was OG, right?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I know.
I know.
Dude had a chop.
He said, if you don't
get your stupid ass off my-
You ain't see his man pull up.
Dude pulled right off.
Slow, too, in the Volkswagen.
My four OG, I know.
Put my shit back.
That was funny.
Somebody's going to get killed on these little ring-
No, for sure.
Yeah.
My entire ring timeline is just that.
Just dudes stealing packages off the front door.
Mm-hmm.
That's all it is Rory tell me about CJ
The rapper
I don't know too much
Outside of
CJ
Movie
No that's

Yeah you should
Maybe
Might be time
Nah
Hell no
Nah
Fabio's cool
Yeah
Seems like cool dude
Yeah
Cool
He was at Palooza
Being a nice guy
I seen him
I seen him that time
When he stopped traffic
On the Van Wick
Yeah
Let niggas know It's traffic on the Van Wick. Yeah, let niggas know.
It's traffic on the Van Wick no matter what.
Yeah, no matter what it's traffic.
He was the cause that day.
Yeah.
He got out with all his friends, was dancing on the hood of the car.
That's fire.
I respect that, though.
Nobody in traffic got out to say, hey, what you doing?
And I don't blame him.
Yeah, no, no, no.
I probably wouldn't have done it either.
You got a little time.
I just sat and chilled out.
A little time.
I sit here.
Ooh, when that coming out.
Ooh, I see what the video they shooting.
Ooh.
So, CJ.
Yeah, shout out to Fabio.
He's from Staten Island.
He's got the Whoopty record.
That's pretty big.
All right, Wu-Tang.
Did that to you one time.
Just messing with you.
It's okay.
Okay.
You're my friend.
No, I know.
I'm not affected.
I'm not affected. I'm not affected.
I'm not affected.
Nothing you said
affected me. Don't worry. It's okay.
I'll continue to do Staten Island.
He's from Staten Island.
He's got the whoopty record that's really, really big.
His uncle is James Cruz, so people
call him an industry plant. There's been
rumblings. I'm a civilian
So I know nothing
About any of this
Just reporting the news
That he may not be
A gang member
And some of the gang members
Are upset about it
Again
I know nothing at all
I
Sit at home by myself
I know that
Pat from the old studio
From Ferrari Studio
Did
Mixed and
Recorded the album
I think he produced
A couple songs too
So
Shout out to Pat
Yeah shout out to Pat
Well yeah Congratulations to Pat He Yeah, shout out to Pat.
Well, yeah.
He's a big artist in New York now.
He's cool with French and them.
But yeah,
the kids seem to like him.
The Whoopty record is at 10 billion streams at this point.
Big record, for sure.
Has he ever killed somebody or no?
I hope not.
Has he ever shot at somebody?
I hope not.
Is he in a gang?
I don't want violence to happen. Is there footage online of him and his crew stomping somebody out? I hope not. Has he ever shot at somebody? I hope not. Is he in a gang? I don't want violence to happen.
Is there footage online
of him and his crew
stomping somebody out?
I hope not.
Have they ever robbed somebody
in broad daylight?
I hope not.
Is there any Treyway activity?
Did they shoot at somebody
while they were in a hotel
in the daytime?
I don't know.
What is happening?
I hope not.
If none of that's happening,
I don't want to hear this shit.
I hope it doesn't.
That seems to be
how a lot of people feel.
I'm part of the problem.
I'm the problem. You're part of the problem. I'm the problem.
You're part of the problem?
Yes.
Why you say that?
If you didn't do any of that stuff,
then I don't want to see your woo walk.
Sorry.
Okay.
I'm not mad at that.
Hey, let me tell,
and I'm not talking about CJ
because I don't know much about him anymore,
but let me tell the next generation
of plant drill rappers.
When y'all are shooting your plant drill videos you're gonna need more than four drill homeboys i can i can i
can see the gaps and you have to choose you have to choose the locations it's not on the sidewalk
with the wood from yeah from the scaffolding yeah you need to be in the... Yeah. Look, that guy's 12.
I dare him to come up to me with a gun.
God damn you.
Give me that.
Don't do that.
12-year-olds now.
Smoke you.
Yeah, I know.
Come to Edgewater and do it.
Joey.
Movie.
Final last words.
On River Road with the Thule.
Look where you at.
You're not on River Road with the Thule. Look where you at. You're not on River Road with the Thule.
I'm not?
How do you know?
You see me?
I've been on River Road with you.
The Thule wasn't there.
Did it need to come out?
No.
Oh, when you got the flat.
That is true.
You do get a lot of flatsires, and sometimes we do need the Thule.
I'm going to need there to be a hundred of, CJ needs a hundred more friends for me to believe this.
Sorry. It was like that, Dan. This guy CJ needs a hundred more friends for me to believe this. Sorry.
It was like that then.
This guy looks like a real nice kid.
It was a holiday.
And James Cruz is a great guy.
What do you want me to think here?
What happened?
I don't know.
I heard a record off the album that sounded good.
Oh yeah, his album came out, right?
Yeah.
Go him.
Yeah.
Listen, man, I stay out of that type of politics not my business me neither

Erica Bates might ask for it.
She asked for it.
Yeah, yeah.
And she should gladly take it, by the way.
Yeah, yeah.
Well,

You think the original
or the remix
will go up in the club?
They'll probably blend them,
you know what I mean?
That might be the hardest
remix I ever heard.
That knocks
the special delivery
remix out the park for me.
This one right here?
Yeah, that's what did it.
Yeah, I think so.
Okay.
Special delivery
with GDF Ghost facing them?
Yeah, yeah.

speaking of noise
I hate to admit
when mall is right
who was I right about Cuomo piece of shit that's going to cut through some of this noise out there. And it's a lot of noise. Speaking of noise, I hate to admit when Maul is right.
Who was I right about?
Cuomo.
Piece of shit.
I'm not going to go that far.
Piece of shit.
But he killed some of your grandparents.
No, he did.
I'm telling you.
Fudge the numbers.
Yeah, we don't got to go back into that because, you know,
people are sensitive about politics.
He fudged some of the numbers at the old folks' home.
But we knew that, right?
Well, I did.
We had to know that.
I knew it, too, when I was big in the month.
But, I mean, you know the politicians is fudging the numbers.
Piece of shit.
And he doubled down on it.
Yeah.
They died.
Who cares?
Don't do that.
No matter how they died, they died.
Don't do that.
That's what he said.
He didn't say that.
What did he say?
Not that.
He didn't say nobody cares that they died. He said, who cares how they died?
They died.
I didn't hear him say that.
Okay.
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said that nursing homes never needed to accept COVID-positive patients from hospitals in the state due to a shortage of hospital beds.
During a press call Wednesday, Finger Lakes News Radio asked Cuomo about his administration's advisory in late March requiring that nursing homes accept the red mission of patients from hospitals, even if they were positive for COVID-19.
The governor's office has repeatedly said the advisory was based on federal guidance, which prohibited discrimination based on a coronavirus diagnosis diagnosis the state's department of health told cnn residents were admitted to nursing homes
during that time not as an overflow facility but because that's where they live cuomo said that the
advisory was a precaution if hospitals became overwhelmed calling it an anticipatory rule which he said
didn't happen i'll read this little last part we never needed nursing home beds because we always
had hospital beds all right he's just a lot of niggas now exactly like all of this shit is
bullshit i love you and your brother but you didn't have hospital beds i'll be all full of
my dad was in the hospital dying from covid and y'all was trying to kick him out every hour y'all didn't have hospital beds just ready it's all
bulls**t cuomo told finger lake news so it just never happened in new york where we needed to
say a nursing uh where we needed to say to a nursing home we need you to take this person
even though they're covid positive it never happened i don't believe that for one second
of course it happened i believe that for one second a good friend of mine is a is a manager of a nursing home and that's exactly what was happening he manages
a nursing home and this was back in april may he was telling me this like why are they sending all
of these covid positive patients to nursing homes when older people are more susceptible to getting
infected it didn't make any sense back then You know Politics
Yeah
Politics man
It's just the
It's just the government
That we live under
They all follow
You know
Their own
Rules
And their own
You know
Whatever the fuck they wanna do
But
You speak about it
People think you're this
Or you're that
I don't get involved in all that shit
It was just fun talking about Trump
But it's over
More newsy news That people in the New York area should at least be aware of.
MTA tolls are being increased April 1st.
Again?
Heavens every year.
Mad of them.
What's MTA?
Throgsneg, Verrazano, all the New York shit, right?
Everything, yeah.
Well, literally everything that has to do with public transportation.
Metro Transit.
Yeah, it's going from like $6 to $11 if you're non-EasyPass.
Really?
Wait, hold on.
They adding a toll to the bridge
on the BQE?
Yep.
What?
Yeah, man.
Yeah is what?
Yeah.
Yeah, you know what yeah means?
Yeah.
Mazda, man.
Yes.
I didn't question y'all.
I asked a question. Y'all said yes. Yeah. Yeah, yes. I didn't question y'all. I asked a question.
Y'all said yes.
Yeah.
Yeah, man.
Lock your windows.
Close your doors.
Biggie Smalls.
That's what's going on out there.
Just wanted to throw that out there so you know.
What else is going on that people need to be aware of?
Easy pass going up.
Y'all want to talk about Houston a little bit?
I mean, not Houston, but Texas period and what's going on out there with Ted Cruz trying
to go to Cancun because his daughters wanted to get away and get a little get a little bit of sun for
the weekend cancun cruise um in the midst of millions of people being without electricity
uh power water heat heat that's when he decided to get up and go to cancun now listen i won't i won't knock you for
wanting to go to cancun many of black twitter did i mean just not right now just now is a little
black twitter wasn't responsible for a state yes probably not that was in need time
for tag crews to do that and if you were gonna do that why didn't he take a pj why is he in the
airport why is he in the airport where people could see him and take a picture and say, yo, that's
Tech Crew.
Yo, ain't you Tech Crew?
They also kill politicians when they do the PJ thing.
He's supposed to be one of the people.
Yeah.
I think people forget that politicians are humans and they're going to do fucked up shit
just like humans do.
Listen, man.
Nah.
This ain't the time.
Yeah.
Nah.
This ain't a Republican, republican democrat thing this is a human
thing the people the people the people voted you in what does that mean it means that they would
like to see you stand in turmoil with them or be the elected official to try to help troubleshoot
some of this turmoil how many how many elected officials have ever done what the people have asked or thought that they were going to do?
How many have actually ever done it?
I can't say because I'm not politics, man.
I'm only speaking on in the middle of such a crisis.
Absolutely.
I know what people want.
No, you can't get up and go to Cancun in agree in the middle i agree this type of crisis i agree but
this is what politicians do you think they're going to sit there and weather the storm with
the people that doesn't that doesn't happen that doesn't happen well at least do it that's
that's the only two people somewhere in the state at least what'd you say at least do it somewhere
in the state or like vacation oklahoma like just go somewhere around the area they're gonna take
your money and they're gonna to go to fucking Tulum
and fucking drink coconut rum
until they pass out.
Somebody tweeted,
and this was a tweet of the week for me.
He said, so nobody notices
that Ted Cruz and his family
tried to cross the border.
He tried to cross the border
to provide a better life for him
and his family.
Yeah.
Yeah. That's funny. This one was crazy. I don't know if they who is this uh mayor of colorado oh no this was nuts yes this
this was the one before we even got on ted cruz duke said let let me let me hurt some feelings
while i have a minute why does he have a minute? That's the opening sentence. You shouldn't have a minute.
But you shouldn't have a minute.
Let me get my shit off.
He said, and I'm going to read this from Tim Boyd.
Who's Tim Boyd?
Governor of Colorado City, Texas.
This guy is amazing.
He said, no one owes you and your family anything.
Excuse me.
Pardon me.
Nor is it the local
government's responsibility to support
you during trying times like this.
Sink or swim, it's your choice.
He's typed this
and hit send.
The city and county along with
power providers or any other service
owes you nothing. I'm sick
and tired of people looking for a damn handout.
I pay my taxes.
If you don't have electricity. If you don't have electricity
In my electricity bill. If you don't have
electricity, you step your
bum ass up and come up
with a game plan to keep your family warm and
safe. If you have no water, you
deal with that and think outside of the box
to survive and supply water to your family.
I'm going to repeat that. He's asking if I make water.
I'm going to repeat that one more time.
Make water. Pro water procure your own water
if you have no water
you deal without
and think outside
of the box
to survive
and supply water
to your family
yo there's snow there
snow is water
go grab that
didn't think of it
like that Rory
see what I'm saying Rory
if you're sitting at home
in the cold
because you have no power
and are sitting there waiting for someone
to come rescue you because you're lazy
is direct result of your raising.
Only the strong will survive
and the weak will perish.
Folks, God has given us the tools
to support ourselves in times like this.
This is sadly a product of socialist government
where they feed people to believe
that the few will work
and others will become dependent for handouts no we pay you for times like
this you realized a mayor is talking about socialist government forget it
never mind forget it forget it forget it stop taking my taxes off my taxes mr.
socialist am I sorry this you have been dealing without electricity and water? Yes.
But I'll be damned if I'm going to
provide anyone that is capable of
provide for anyone that is capable
of doing it themselves. We have lost
sight of those in need.
Is this real?
Yeah, it's real. In need and those
that take advantage of the system and
mesh them in one group.
Bottom line,
quit crying and looking for a handout.
Get off your ass
and take care of your own family.
This is an elected official
They better go burn his house down.
that hit send
Yep.
who is paid
on this.
who is paid
by the people he's talking about.
That people went out and voted for.
Go vote.
Fuck out of here. Now'm gonna come clean when certain parts of texas were open still like atlanta's open still
and the mayor over there saying yo all-stars here but atlanta's closed don't come yeah the mayor
over there been saying yo yo yo we need to
do something different for a little while the elected officials don't really care about us
right right she's been saying that for a while over there now when these states are open maybe
it's Joe the weirdo but that's the first second and third thing I'm thinking I ain't just thinking
let me run a turkey leg hut because it's open let me turn up hook let
me run in land a cop i'm not thinking none of that i'm thinking yo the officials don't give a
fuck over here so what's gonna happen when crisis really hits and here we are yep and you see shit
like what tim boyd is saying see that true what ted cruz. See their true feelings. You see how they really feel.
Boy, I feel bad that severe temperatures turn parts of the South up like this.
Yeah.
Yeah.
They're not built for it.
Yeah, I'll admit, I used to be the person that used to laugh at Atlanta when they'd get an inch of snow and the whole city would shut down.
It's like, how do I drive?
That was ignorant of me.
Those cities aren't prepared for this type of shit at all.
It affects them much differently than it would ever
affect us.
That was different because
people's lives weren't necessarily
in jeopardy when it was an inch of snow.
That's funny. People were just not
driving snow. People's houses are
getting destroyed and they don't have heat
and water. People are dying.
People are dying over are dying yeah over here
this isn't this isn't jokey joke time no listen they surely do i was trying to get home they
canceled all flights to uh houston like it was bad yeah i got uh not outside having people in
houston people that were there visiting have been there for like 10 days they can't get out yeah
they were stuck in houston and still and still i know some women that are making it out there for their dick appointment man I got a round of applause
round of applause they're doing the due diligence I don't know what type whoa
that's scary that's scary oh that was scary what a round of applause for the
climate change deniers
well I don't know
was that Ted Cruz tweet
from 2016 real
yes
I never want to say
people know how to photoshop
Ted Cruz had tweeted
allegedly
I don't know if it was true
it was on Twitter
so I'm not going to fact check it
Ted Cruz said
I believe in global warming
when Texas freezes over
and then he went to Cancun
hey I have to rethink this global warming thing and go to Mexico over. And then he went to Cancun.
I have to rethink this global warming thing and go to Mexico.
Do you guys care about
Charlemagne
versus Lakeef?
No, what happened? They beefing?
Wasn't that a really old thing?
Did it reignite?
Reignite? The Breakfast Club interviewed of really really old thing that it did did reunite uh reignite the breakfast club interviewed um lakeith for the movie not lakeith daniel okay they interviewed daniel and apparently charlemagne
asked him a question about lakeith's character in the film but it was like a shady question uh how do i say his last name
kaluuya kaluuya kaluuya daniel kaluuya the lead uh the lead and uh fred hampton yeah fred hampton
um so he asked him a question about lakeef's role in the movie and i guess it was some
some spice to it i'm not sure because I didn't know there was initially an issue
between Lakeith and Charlemagne.
I was bringing this here
to ask y'all what that was.
I think,
and again,
not going to fact check,
if I remember correctly,
it started when Lakeith
rapped on the Breakfast Club
and Charlemagne was like,
yeah, that was trash.
I think that's how it started
and then they went back and forth
on a bunch of different things
since then
but yeah this has been something
that I
why is that a beef
people are
don't tell me you're trash
you're an actor
I can tell you're raps are trash
with my fake bars
I believe that's how it started
and that's not the first time
Charlotte
well Lakeith replied to
the Daniel interview that he saw
and said this is whole shit
stop it
get off my dick
blah blah blah
well
what are they beefing about again
I mean I know
y'all just broke it down
but I still don't
were you listening
I don't know
but I still
I still don't get it though
I don't know
and I'm not gonna say they're beefing
I'm not familiar with the situation
I just know Lakeith replied
and said
get off my dick
this whole shit
yeah
well I could be wrong.
I think that's how I started.
I didn't know enough about the exchange.
I was shocked.
That's all.
Sean is me.
What do you think of Lakeith?
I don't know.
I don't know.
I'm not here to judge his freestyle.
Yeah, he's an actor.
He's not a-
Phenomenal job he did.
Well, he played Snoop.
Phenomenal job he did in the movie.
Huh?
He played Snoop.
Yeah, so he's an actor now. He's a rapper now, yeah. Yeah, he did a good job, though. Real good job he did in the movie. Huh? He played Snoop. Yeah, so he's an actor now.
He's a rapper now, yeah.
Yeah, he did a good job, though.
Real good job
in Judas and the Messiah.
Speaking of Atlanta,
Donald Glover
just had a big deal
with Amazon.
Guy's own channel,
I guess, on there?
I don't know how channels work
within the Amazon ecosystem,
but that's a big deal.
Congratulations to Donald Glover.
I think that was
an eight-figure deal.
That's what they say, yeah.
Super big, man. Shout out to him. Congratulations. I think that was an eight-figure deal. That's what they say, yeah. Super big, man.
Shout out to him.
Congratulations.
One of the most.
Congratulations to Amazon as well.
He's one of the most talented people.
Is his brother involved in this at all?
Can you bring up Donald Glover's brother's name?
He's the one that writes and directs a lot of Atlanta.
Oh, really?
I didn't know that.
He's really, really, really talented.
No, we don't know about his brother.
Okay, well, just look at the credits.
Check the credits.
People have talked about his brother a million times.
Steven Glover, yeah.
I wasn't hip.
Oh, Steven.
Steve.
By the way, remember this in like three episodes from now.
I know.
Joe is going to bring up,
oh my, do you guys know about Steven Glover?
He's such a good writer.
How come we've never
talked about this?
I've never seen Atlanta.
Oh that's you missing out.
Yeah you're definitely
missing out.
You've never seen Atlanta?
That show was incredible.
I thought when we talked
about it you was
following it.
Not at once.
Good show.
Binge that.
You should start it.
Never seen Atlanta.
You should start it tonight.
Never saw Euphoria.
Tear right through it.
Definitely need to watch that too.
Never saw none of the shows.
Gotta watch that.
Y'all, sheep watch.
Wait, what?
Y'all, sheep.
He watched The Lady and the Dale.
Don't do that.
That shit was trash.
That shit was terrible.
I finished Mr. Robot.
Mr. Robot was great.
That shit was trash.
It was trash.
You watched all of it and thought it was trash?
Yeah, I didn't like that shit at all.
You know what?
Not the story.
The story is interesting.
I didn't like the cartoon type shit
they was doing.
I just didn't like that.
I was like, fam,
I don't want to watch a documentary
and it's showing the cartoony shit.
Give me a doc.
Give me a doc.
People have done that before.
I forgot what other big doc did that.
I don't like docs like that.
I don't necessarily mind that.
I don't like docs like that.
What was that?
There was another doc that did that.
It was good.
Anyway. Yeah, I'm not a big fan of when docs do that. Yeah, I don't necessarily mind that. I don't like docs like that. What was that? There was another doc that did that. It was good. Anyway.
Yeah, I'm not a big fan of when docs do that.
The story was interesting, though, that she got that off.
That was interesting.
Yeah, that was like-
I don't see how you can watch that.
No, the story was like-
Sure you did, man.
Shit.
You know, the story was interesting.
I just didn't-
She could have been a young boy.
Yeah, I didn't think the doc was put together well. Could have brought her into the fold. Come on, man. You could have initiated story was interesting. I just didn't... She could have been a young boy. Yeah, I didn't think the doc was put together well.
Could have brought her into the fold.
Come on, man.
You could have initiated her.
Nah.
I didn't think...
What's the young boy initiation look like?
The what?
How do you bring the young boys into the crew?
What do you make them do?
Well, one, they have to be young.
They also have to be a boy.
I'm not into that at all.
I don't bring young boys into a crew.
Don't touch one of mine.
With everything you love, I will destroy everything you touch.
Let's play the game, nigga.
That's a really bad Pac impression.
Yeah, you did a better Pac impression when you used to kind of rap like Pac a little bit.
Eye for eye.
Last words, you a bitch, nigga.
Why you lie?
Now you got to watch your back now.
Watch your front.
Here we come.
Gunshot the tut.
Now you stuck.
Fuck the...
I don't see how Pac is not in this top three.
I don't...
He's about top five for sure.
That became a weird internet troll.
Fuck the rap game, nigga.
That was a weird internet troll.
Never understood that.
So believe me, we're enemies.
But y'all understand.
I don't feel that.
Niggas don't rap to their enemies no more.
Yeah, they do.
But the reason why a lot of people don't have Pac.
Niggas' enemies ain't tough then.
Yeah, Pac had real.
That whole little op thing they doing.
Pac's enemies were tougher than their enemies.
I don't know about all that.
No, now we just got the feds.
That's the enemies of hip hop now.
All this music is about a specific op, and then they kill each other.
So, yeah, I'm not going to say that.
But anyways.
Biggie Doc.
Oh, when is this one coming?
March 1st, I believe is the date.
So, this was one, I will admit, and no one else will admit,
when I saw the headline, wanted to kill it.
Because I've been on this podcast saying,
I don't need any more Big or Pac documentaries.
We've got them all.
The trailer looked like it may have some things we footage.
Has there been a little Pac Docs?
Fam, every other year, or every year.
I don't feel like there's been a good Pac Doc, though.
Well, the one that was in theaters
was good.
The one that was in theaters,
Tupac Resurrection,
I thought it wasn't really a doc.
The one that's on TV
that was like
who killed Biggie and Pac,
I wasn't mad at that one.
Okay.
That wasn't FX.
What was that on?
A lot of people
didn't like the Pac movie.
Why do I have the hiccups
like I'm soft?
I thought that's what
Rory was talking about.
I got the hiccups
I don't think I liked the Pac movie.
No, no,
I'm not talking about
All Eyes on Me,
the movie. Like years and years and years ago, Tupac movie. No, no, I'm not talking about All Eyes on Me, the movie.
Like years and years
and years ago,
Tupac Resurrection
was a documentary-esque
shit that was in actual,
I went to the movie
theater to see it.
Yeah, I know what you
talking about,
Tupac Resurrection.
Yeah, I like that,
but I just feel like
they've kind of
oversaturated it
and there's always
been these random ones,
but this does look like
with his mom involved
and footage that
none of us have seen,
this looks like it'll
be actually really dope.
So I do take back
my hate when I initially saw the headline
of like, all right, we're going to milk this even more.
No, they better give me a new Biggie fact.
If there's real family.
If I don't get a new Biggie small fact.
I like his mom involved because I've always felt like
they do all these weird cheap docs and little side joints.
And I'm like, all right, y'all just going to eat off the family.
His mom is in this.
C's is in this. You know what I would like to all right, y'all just going to eat off the family. Like his mom is in this, Cease is in this.
Like,
you know what I would like to see from these people tell this from this doc,
I would love to see them not tie in the whole Biggie Tupac thing.
I would like to just see that angle.
But let me just,
let's just tell us about big from growing up.
I don't know if you can tell either one of their stories in full without mentioning the other.
No, but because we got those docs already and those stories and those, you know, they always tie them together.
I would like for them to just keep it strictly Big for this.
Like, let's teach us.
Tell us things about him in high school and tell us things in elementary school on the block.
If he played, you he played different sports,
some of his teammates in Little League that we never heard from.
Things like that.
Let's focus on big. Not the drama.
Yeah, not the drama, the beef.
Yeah, exactly.
And that's how I feel like it's still so much of big that we don't know about
that I hope that they highlight more on this documentary.
This just looks like so much home footage.
That's what I liked about the trailer.
It's not just another thing like, did you know that Tupac and Biggie were friends before all this?
I don't need another one of those docs.
I don't.
Yeah.
But I feel you.
Yeah, I'd like to dive more into the big part of everything rather than the Big and Pac.
Yeah, I don't want to hear about that.
The thing that they exploit every single time.
But this is on what, Netflix, right? Yeah. Yeah, I don't want to hear about that. The thing that they exploit every single time. But this is on what?
Netflix, right?
Yeah.
Yeah, all right.
Well, looking forward,
I'll watch regardless.
I say all that to say
that anytime there's a Big Doc,
I will watch.
You have to.
You have to.
Big or Pac,
you have to watch their stories.
No, I'm into it.
I don't think I'm watching this.
You're going to watch it. And I'm the I'm watching this. You're going to watch it.
And I'm the hipster.
No, Joe's going to watch it.
I'm a hipster because I'm not watching this.
I've heard stories from people that spoke to Big when he was at the club right before he died.
I've heard from his mom.
I've heard from Puff.
I've heard from people that were at the
fight I've heard from people that were I've heard I just I've heard from
everybody if I don't get a new fact then I have to work on how I say things
people think I don't care but I don't
but this seems
but this does seem like
this is strictly about him
before he became Biggie
yeah with the amount of
home footage here
and his mom
I've heard from C's
I've heard from Kim
I've heard from Faith
in the last however many years
I mean dear I say it we've got it all.
Or have we?
Well, and that's what y'all will watch this and tell me if we haven't.
Absolutely.
We've gotten all the music, the major music moments.
That's what we've gotten.
Yeah.
So if that is this again, i'm gonna be disappointed but if this is some cooler
shit like really in the bigs life and more personality how that had to do yeah because
everyone has said big at the greatest personality ever like i'm i'm down to watch it and give it a
chance listen to have only released two albums and still be considered one of the best rappers
in the world by mostly everybody it's a real difficult
feat i don't take that for granted at all like the amount of skill that you have to show in
two albums if you want to say three that's fine with life after death death being a double disc
but the skills you have to show to be regarded that way in such a brief amount of time is just different.
Yeah, it's crazy.
As far as voice,
delivery,
cadence,
storytelling,
club records,
album cuts,
classic albums.
Like, it's just a lot
that he hit.
Greatest flow of all time.
And I feel like
if they keep,
if they keep,
I don't know,
I understand
he's such a prominent figure,
man,
but at some point
do you let it rest? Don't kill me, hip hop. I'm't know. I understand he's such a prominent figure, man. But at some point, do you let it rest?
Don't kill me, hip hop.
I'm just asking.
I understand your question.
Yeah, I'm not trying to.
Yeah, I understand what you mean.
But I think that it's important because we still get documentaries about Bob Marley.
We still get documentaries about a lot of figures that passed before we were born.
You're right.
Maybe I'm selfishly speaking because
i was there and i have all the information yeah yeah yes there's a lot of people that don't know
haven't seen didn't get the facts weren't alive yeah that's like the 21 year olds the people that
are turning 21 they were born in 2000 now right yeah so like when they did the movie notorious i
was like yeah i think it's a little too early I was young
But I was still there
I know everything
When I watched this movie
So yeah
I think
We should wait a little bit on this
With this doc
I think the timing
Makes more sense
With the amount of kids
That literally have no idea
But that name
Biggie
When they hear it
In other rap songs
I need a 50 cent doc
That's the doc I need
50 cent? I need the real 50 doc not don't give me
the vh1 behind the music doc I need the doc doc yeah I don't want to see the get rich or die
trying movie shit I need a real life excuse me have you watched before I have not it's really
good this season I saw the first three episodes, but I'm not caught up.
It's been good.
For Life is good.
I like For Life.
You know what I did watch, Parks?
I watched that Britney Spears doc.
Oh, yeah?
What'd you watch? Real good.
I watched it as well.
Really, really, really, really good on Hulu.
Yeah.
New York Times, Britney Spears doc.
That conservatory shit is interesting.
Yeah, it really is.
Through the whole doc, I was a little-
I would like for Britney Spears to have her rights back.
Me too.
Especially if you're ready, willing, and able to work the way that the doc showcased her working,
then you don't need someone to make decisions on your behalf.
It's really, really, really unfortunate.
Really unfortunate story in that Britney Spears doc.
And they're right. Really, really, really unfortunate. Really unfortunate story in that Britney Spears doc.
And they're right. A lot of how we view Britney Spears, what the media was doing back then and the story they were telling, what the Justin, Cry Me a River, the dancer kid, just how she went from wherever that little town, Kent.
Was that Kent, Mississippi? I forget. Louisiana? like just how she went from wherever that little town kent was that kent mississippi yeah whatever
louisiana yeah whatever one of them whatever she did from that little town man that is crazy
horrible that is really horrible and for her to get to the end spoiler alert and be like
yo i'm not even mad at the conservatory i just don't want my dad to run it yeah do what you gotta do but homeboy he don't
mean no good so many musicians with that story man remember not too long ago i was talking about
jojo and that youtube doc i watched with her and just her situation and it's just so many tragic
musician uh stories about musicians that sign bad deals or make all the money in the world
and have to watch out for family members.
That's what I was thinking watching.
I was like, damn, man, for all the shit I talk about my career,
like imagine if it went the best it could have gone.
Like imagine the things I would have had to watch out for in that instance.
Like I don't want to look at my mom shady.
Right. Not that I am or would, but i'm just saying an example fam i'm gotta look at my dad like tiger the tiger woods
doc look like just imagine it it's nasty i was um yeah what she went through with the little
umbrella scene when she when she fucked up the reporters the reporters I feel like she was in her right
to do that shit
I felt
I felt that too
I don't think that's crazy
though
get the fuck out of my face
I didn't like her
trot back to the car
like that wasn't
that wasn't the best
criminal
look
she could have did that
a little smoother
that was the prototypical
white guy
that just had a moment
and it's like
oh god I gotta get back
to the car now
that was that truck.
But if I'm there to pick up my kids,
my kid's dad has
custody. He's ignoring me.
Won't answer. He's painting me to be
a villain, a bad guy.
Yeah, I'm fucking
somebody's car up with the umbrella when
paparazzi shows up.
And their reaction, how could she do this to my space?
Paparazzi not understandingarazzi shows up and their reaction how could she do this paparazzi not
understanding it was hilarious why she was angry if you haven't seen the britney spears doc on hulu
uh and it's called framing britney spears before you try to search it like i did and see all the
10 million yeah britney spears docs new york times is really really really good there's also
misleading because it says episode six so you think think, oh, fuck it, I missed the other five.
But no, it's just one episode in a bigger project or whatever.
I Googled after to make sure I was looking at the right one.
And I will say I take back all my hate of documentaries where I say,
hey, this could have been shorter.
They dragged this too long with too many episodes.
Because my biggest gripe about this Britney doc was that it was too short,
and they rushed through certain parts that I think could have been full
episodes.
That was my only gripe.
So I was two hours of fire.
It was only an hour and some change.
Yeah.
An hour and 50 minutes.
Hour and 12.
Really?
Of what?
The fuck did I watch?
I must have stayed on for the oops.
I did it again,
bitch.
But no,
I felt like there was so much stuff with her childhood and then getting into her
career that could have been episodes.
And then the entire thing with her pops, the entire Kevin Federline, the entire meltdown,
each one of those could have been episodes to me.
So I'm wrong.
People that create documentaries.
I enjoyed seeing how they broke her.
I enjoyed them showing how she was singing Oops, I Did It Again
or whatever her first record was.
Hit Me Baby One More Time at the Malls.
I remember when that was a thing.
I remember when that was a thing.
Me too, but I forgot.
And watching it, that was impressive, man.
And then seeing how she was targeting the college kids
and blah blah blah
that's why I hated
J. Cole for a little bit
I hated people
that targeted college kids
I just felt like
it was such a
the guy that went to college
targeting his audience
what did
take your time
and step on my
amazing point
that I'm making Rory
with your opinion
on something
yes
Joe's opinion is
when the rappers
say hey college four years when Meg did what did she do four girls with your opinion on something. Yes, Joe's opinion is when the rappers say,
hey, college four years,
when Meg did,
what did she do today?
Fall girl, school girl.
They all ask corny.
That's Joe's opinion.
If you love that,
then you speak to it.
Don't step on my opinion.
I'm saying the,
hold on,
so you don't think the person
that is living that life,
who the people he's speaking to,
he should market to?
I said I hate it anytime a rapper does it.
That's my opinion.
Okay, but you like when they market to other people.
I hate when a rapper does it that didn't go to college.
I hate it, period.
That's me.
But what do you mean?
I don't like it either, John.
I went to college and I don't really like college raps.
If a rapper—
Markets to other people.
If a rapper... Markets to other people.
If a rapper that comes from poverty
and raps about a certain lifestyle
within that inner city
markets to the people that really feel his music
and will grow with him,
you think that's okay?
I don't really view that as marketing.
So what's the difference between Cole
going after the people he was on campus with?
It's marketing.
Why?
You're going after those people because those are the people that spend money
and you're looking to share a relatable experience so they can do so.
College kids have a large disposable income.
Yeah, I don't know what we're talking about.
Okay.
A bunch of rappers. You guys got it. A bunch of rappers are not targeting. College kids have mad money to income. Yeah, I don't know what Rory's talking about. Okay. A bunch of rappers.
You guys got it.
A bunch of rappers are not targeting.
College kids have mad money to spend on J. Cole.
He did a dollar in a dream tour because that's all they could afford.
And it worked.
It was a dollar.
And it worked.
So they spent mad money on him, right?
It all worked.
I didn't check the financial records.
I bought the most music I ever bought in my life while I was in college.
So that means everybody.
I don't like when Rory does this.
No, because you sound dumb right now.
You do.
You do sound dumb.
I think it's an actual fact that kids age.
Why do I sound dumb?
Because you disagree.
No, that's how you operate.
I don't operate that way.
Then tell me what's dumb about what I'm saying.
What sounds dumb about I hate
when people market to college?
You're saying because
that... Because he marketed to
the people that were his demographic... No, I didn't know
you said that. I didn't say that.
My statement was very quick.
I hate anybody
that markets to college. You
then asked me some follow-up questions.
Cole went to college. Is that not his demographic?
I don't care where he went.
I don't care.
I hate when any rapper...
Then I'm not going to have...
This is a weird...
This is a stupid conversation.
You have a problem with people marketing to college students.
Yo, if you don't think Pump It Up was marketing to college students,
you are out of your fucking mind.
It wasn't.
Of course, it wasn't.
It wasn't.
It wasn't, I'm sure.
How was it?
It was a party record.
Now you sound dumb.
Every party record is marketed.
And it was a college party record.
No, it was not, Rory.
What are you talking about?
You sound like a fucking idiot.
You know when the rappers are marketing the college kids.
Kanye did college dropout.
He put a book bag on everywhere he went.
You knew he was talking to college.
J. Cole,
every fucking verse
was about college.
You knew that he was marketing.
Why do you,
why do you,
my,
Joe's opinion.
I'm not saying this is fact.
Yes, you are.
All right,
move on.
Let's move on, man.
I'm not doing this for Rory.
You do this every podcast.
I'm telling you my opinion.
Now you're telling me my opinion is stupid and I'm saying it's fact. I'm not saying it, man. I'm not doing this for Rory. You do this every podcast. I'm telling you my opinion. Now you're telling me my opinion is stupid, and I'm saying it's fact.
I'm not saying it's fact.
I'm saying it's my opinion, and I hate when it happens.
Anytime it happens.
And I'm asking why.
Not just when your Dreamville buddies do it.
I hate when anybody does it.
I'm asking why.
I said that earlier, and you said college kids don't have any money to spend on music.
That's what you said to me.
If you were just going to...
I've been in marketing meetings at labels
where things were specifically geared around
targeting college kids.
Why do you think that is?
Because it's an age demographic.
Because it works.
That deals with parties and regular real life shit.
All right, that's your-
The music that Cole made.
All right, that's your opinion.
In my opinion, not only does it work, but college is where those memorable, relatable times and where the song sticks out in your memory for the rest of your life and then you have a relatable, identifiable-
So why would you hate that?
And then you state it.
Because I hate it.
So you hate when people try to make memories and make money?
Ma, can you say something, please?
I was just letting you guys have a-
Can you say something?
Can you please say something?
This nigga does this every podcast.
I'm not being annoying this time.
I know I'm not.
I was just letting y'all have y'all fight, but I think y'all both are saying, Rory's
trying to ask, why do you not like that?
And meaning like, if it works, why would you not like that?
And if it's genuine.
And if the guy actually went to college, why would you not like that?
That's what I'm saying college it's a genuine experience i think you're i think we're always missing what
joe is saying is joe is just saying like why do y'all just target that audience even if you did
go to college but why are you just targeting that audience you should be targeting a broader audience
i think cole has done that and proven that he did that oh after for sure after his career took off
he and even off
the first album well you know i do too i thought but i did understand the correlation and how it
tied in and it made sense i understand that part dollar the dream tour so far gone could have only
been marketed to college students absolutely if you want to go that route that's true but it wasn't
and that's why i say y'all both were kind of But it wasn't Saying similar shit Then don't tell me
I sound stupid
For having an opinion
So far
No I think he was
It wasn't marketed to college
No it wasn't
I don't think it was marketed to college
No it wasn't
Neither was Pump It Up
I don't think it was marketed to college
No
Did college people
Run with it
And take off
Very different
But I don't think it was marketed
To college
Thank you
I don't think so
The end
But college kids love that
Completely disagree That it was marketed That so far I was in college when it happened It was marketed to college. Thank you. I don't think so. The end. But college kids love that project. I completely disagree.
That it was marketed?
That so far...
I was in college when it happened.
It was marketed to me.
I saw all the marketing.
How was it marketed to you?
He only did college dates in between it.
That's not true.
Okay.
That is not true.
Now, Dad, I don't remember.
You did not only do college dates when so far gone.
Focused on it.
I don't remember that.
That's more gone, man.
I don't remember that.
Now you're just lying on shit.
No, I'm not.
How was it marketed to college?
He was doing college shows.
He did a whole college run
in the middle of So Far Gone.
Before Best I Ever Had
even hit the radio.
I was there.
So that meant that it was
only marketed to college.
He didn't do nothing else?
That was what he focused on.
Okay.
He did do other things.
He did not only do colleges.
That is not true.
But Cole did the same thing, though.
He didn't just go to colleges.
He went to a bunch of different things.
It's the same thing.
And rapped about college life.
Be consistent in your argument.
And rapped about college life for years.
And to be clear.
Tell me what.
There's nothing wrong with marketing to college.
I'm just putting that out there.
No, bro.
I'm trying to figure out, too.
The bird is mad at my opinion.
Oh, no.
No, I asked why.
You said that's what you're trying to figure out.
You don't have to figure out my opinion.
It's my opinion.
You don't have to hold it.
I don't like when niggas market to college okay that's it cut and nothing on so far gone was about college
not a line in it not one bar well count it tell me is what's the name of it is uh is a baby am i
everything yo is that on so far gone yes talks about campus life the entire verse that's a college record yeah that's a college-y record
college-y
on a
marketed to college
marketed to college
some social life
but campus life is crazy
if y'all are about to tell me
that best I ever had
was marketed to colleges
I'm finished
I didn't
no no no
that's not what I'm saying
I'm saying it's a college-y
I'm not saying it wasn't
marketed elsewhere
but it was 1000%
focused on colleges
it has it has that school vibe I like this girl you know what I mean like and college-y record. I'm not saying it wasn't marketed elsewhere, but it was 1,000% focused on colleges.
It has that school vibe. It was in college
when it happened.
I like this girl.
You know what I mean?
Even the video was like,
there was a basketball team
and a gym.
That's college shit.
So I get it.
I understand.
But I don't think
it wasn't just marketed
to colleges.
Of course not.
I think you had
a broader point though, Joe.
And I wasn't the annoying one
on this one.
Ask some simple questions.
Actually, Drake has a cardigan on.
That's college.
Fam, this whole thing.
Everything about Drake
from so far gone
was college.
This is college shit.
They took mad
marketing plans.
Was this marketed
just to college?
Absolutely not.
No, of course not.
And neither was J. Cole.
That's my point.
Neither was J. Cole.
Right.
Did they focus on college?
For sure.
What else you got got and if you take
one or two verses
from Cole
that have to do with college
does not mean
this entire album
does not just one or two verses
from Cole
that are about college
talk about the first album
7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12
13, 14
and 15 verses
about college
from J. Cole
every chance he got I went to college.
What the fuck is Rory talking about?
But it's just because he went to college.
I know, you're a college kid.
You have strong ties to this conversation.
Talk about the first album.
Nothing on So Far Gone is about college.
I don't care that Kanye put this nigga in a cardigan.
The fuck are you talking about?
The biggest single had to go to college.
Yo, you're the best girl I ever had.
I wasn't in college.
And guess what was happening?
I was saying it.
What's the same deal?
Hey, you're the best girl I ever had.
It wasn't marketed to just a college.
Hey, you're the best girl I ever had.
It wasn't marketed to just a college.
I said that to 80 girls.
Yeah, no.
And didn't step foot
on a college campus at all.
What the fuck is he talking?
I hate that he does that every week.
I don't do it every week.
You do it every week
where you just take something real stupid
and want to argue it. No, I was asking you simple questions. I'm not the one that's does that every week. I don't do it every week. You do it every week where you just take something real stupid and want to argue it.
No, I was asking you simple questions.
I'm not the one that's being annoying right now.
Rick Ross did Tiny Desk.
And somebody ruined it.
Was that to colleges?
React.
The first two singles on J. Cole's first album
were Workout and Can't Get Enough
by Trey Songz and Colleges I mentioned once.
But that's it.
It's cool.
Listen, there's nothing wrong with being marketing. We was going off singles, so that was your point. There. But that's it. It's cool. Listen,
there's nothing wrong
with being marketed to college.
We was going off singles,
so that was your point.
There's nothing wrong with it.
I'm using your point.
Let's just put that out there.
I don't care about
any of your hip hop opinions.
I love that.
There's nothing wrong
with being marketed to college.
Let's just end it like that.
Tiny Desk.
No, y'all ended like that.
Joe hates
when people market to college.
I don't care.
Okay. Damn. There we go. Now, Rick Ross Tiny to college. I don't care.
Now, Rick Ross tiny desk.
Who saw it?
I did. Who loved it? Not me.
Look at arrogant take on this shit.
Don't do that.
Don't do that. You're going to want him
to break your ear. I have not said anything.
You're going to want him to break your ear. I have not said anything.
He'll give you the blue berets. I didn't say one word. But he'll give you the blue berets. I just looked at you like you were crazy. That's all. But you're going to want him to break your ear one day. I have not said anything. He'll give you the blueberries. I didn't say one word.
But he'll give you the blueberries.
I just looked at you like you were crazy.
That's all.
Did you love this?
Nope.
Why?
I love Ross.
One of my favorite rappers ever.
Ross did amazing.
Band sounded good.
Ross did amazing.
Yeah, it was just one minor glitch in the matrix.
Elijah Blake?
Yeah.
A little major.
I like Elijah Blake. I like him too a little major. I like Elijah Blake.
I like him too, which is why I didn't understand.
I didn't watch this, so I don't know if he was bugging out.
He just did a little.
He was bugging out.
He was back up singing for college.
I'm not watching this.
Did Ross go to CO college?
CO college.
You can't spell college without CO, so.
Never thought of it that way.
Y'all not going to do the science like I'ma do it
You're not gonna do the science the way I'ma do it
You're not gonna do that
Alright listen
I fuck with Elijah Blake
Y'all love when we get on our Joe Malone shit man
Joe Malone
Yeah
That's when Joe and Maul win
Yeah I get it
Yeah I didn't like Elijah Blake's
Great cologne and candles
Yeah I didn't like Elijah Blake's renditions
But will you
want arrogant tay to do your braids one day you're gonna sit between his legs no sit in the chair
like i do now just asking okay the chair is not available and it's only the steps in front of the
building throw it out he gonna put the chair man low like by his waist throw it out you're gonna

What if after he's done
He spins the chair
Before you look in the mirror
Hey

You're going to sit on the side like,
yo, can I get a picture with Dream Doll?
No, no.
She's going to say, no, I know more.
No.
We go to the same hair salon.
That's your end.
What celebrity do you ask for a picture with?
Besides me.
That's been so long.
Slick Rick was mine.
Not Stove Gun? Man, it's been so long. Slick Rick was mine. Not Stove Gun?
Man, it's been years.
No, I've never met Stove Gun in person.
You didn't?
No.
He was in Syracuse, I believe.
And he hit right when COVID hit.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Stove Gun, B.A. Kaufman.
Stove Gun?
Oh, no.
That's your other man.
Your other man.
Your other man.

Yeah, of course. Okay. I was a kid the last time I asked a celebrity Your other man. Flea. Yeah. You met Flea, right? Yeah, of course.
Okay.
I was a kid the last time I asked a celebrity for a picture.
I was really young.
It might have been somebody like John Starks or somebody.
Doof.
Yeah, it might have been like John Starks.
I would ask him.
Can you call a girl from your phone that thinks you're a goof?
I don't think no girl thinks I'm a goof.
Can you call somebody so I can ask them?
If they think I'm a goof?
Yeah.
Just anybody. They're going to laugh at you. Goof? Let's see. Nobody thinks I'm a goof Can you call somebody So I can ask them If they think I'm a goof Yeah Just anybody They're going to laugh at you
Goof
Nobody thinks I'm a goof
But can I ask
No
No girl thinks I'm a goof
A goof
Forget it then
No
Not a goof
Not me
Right
Only joke would be a goof
Oh shit
Elijah Blake
I don't know
I'm pretty sure
Some women don't think
That you're a
No I responded to him
Oh
Okay yesterday
Was cackles and what whatnot but let's not act
sincerely buddy
with the pink hair
I like Elijah Blake
I do
I do too
he's great
and can sing
he just sounded like shit
in the tiny desk
and he was going
straight to spade
he was excited
you've been excited
before more
don't do that
you've been excited
don't do that
yeah but when you're
a singer
you get a little pitchy
when you get excited
yeah but you can't
you can't
come on man
and these weren't even
it wasn't even like
you necessarily needed
to know how to sing
like amazingly
for a lot of these records
well BMF
for starters
does not need
harmonization
that's what I'm saying
yes it do
I know it's down man
get the fuck out of here
get the fuck out of here
hell no
fuck no harmonious track yeah he was just doing too much they think I'm big me Get the fuck out of here. Hell no. Fuck no.
Harmonious track.
He was just doing too much.
They think I'm big meat.
Yeah, that was too much.
No.
It was too much.
It was just too much.
It was too much.
He got a cut in his eyebrow trying to well out.
I like it logically.
I don't care what y'all say.
I don't care.
No, we all do.
I don't care if he ruined this performance.
I don't know.
He can sing,
but it's like that was just
this wasn't one of
his best outings.
You like his pants?
Listen, if he sounded
good and stepped
in front of Ross
the whole time,
I'd be like,
all right, cool.
But he was on the back,
like go back to where
the mic stand for the
background singing joint is.
And I don't like the
Daisy Duke with the
sweat shit.
Just ain't my
Daisy Duke with the
sweat.
I don't like the combo.
It's jeans.
It's just different material. They just go. It's just jeans for Daisy Duke. And Duke with the sweats. I don't like the combo. It's jeans. It's just different material.
They just go...
It's jeans for Daisy Duke
and then it's sweats.
I never did that
with the Levi's before.
Oh, I didn't even peep.
Let me see.
Oh, this nigga got...
It's a...
Like Meg would kill that outfit.
Meg would body that.
A lot of people
are going to kill us.
Meg would fill those out. You don't kill us. Meg would fill those out.
You don't get the hits for it.
I feel bad because I really like Elijah Blake.
No, he looked good.
My college computer.
God damn it.
Oh, my essay.
My finals are on there.
Oh, look, fat nigga giving it up on his side.
See, he was chilling.
Nah, he was chilling.
He was chilling.
Come on, college boy.
Hey, wait, let me.
Oh, I can't wait
until they analyze
our argument
they ain't gonna
chop that shit up
oh of course they are
anytime they analyze
the argument
Joe lost
so
that's true
no no I mean
the analyzation of us
hating each other
which is true
but
I don't hate you
you're my fucking guy
I don't care what they say
let's see
let me call Imani real quick
see what's going on see if he wants to beef with Elijah Blake no I'm not doing that They're my fucking guy. I don't care what they say. Let's see. Let me call Imani real quick.
See what's going on.
See if he wants to beef with Elijah Blake.
No, I'm not doing that.
You can ask him if you want.
I'll pop it off that way. The Oli would definitely get on here and talk fly.
Yo.
Yo, what's going on?
This is Joe Button from the Joe Button Podcast looking for Imani.
Oh, my God.
What's good, nigga?
Nothing much, man.
How you feeling?
You good out there?
Yes, sir.
What's good with you?
Nothing much, man.
I opened up the podcast with a little tune.
Wait, wait, wait.
I'm on the podcast?
Yeah.
Yes.
Hey, E.
It's what artists should look to do when they drop something.
Not bad. Matter of fact, you you know me artists offer money for this my bad let me get back so because you're my guy and because i love you and because you've made
such amazing records for the last decade i opened up the pod with a little just a phase right
so don't say none that's the line I called
you about right there I hear love calling but I'm just so far away can you
tell me how you came up with that line as a cheater
as a cheater.
Wait, wait.
Never mind.
This is what R.B.R. just asked for.
I'm sorry.
Rory said you was far away cheating. I'm sorry.
Don't worry about it.
Don't put that on me.
I never said that.
You heard Love calling while he was cheating?
He didn't answer.
Wait. React. never said that you heard love calling while he was cheating he didn't answer the record why why um the record doesn't mean i was cheating it just means that i was far away from being able to receive the love that she was providing
ah you like i'll switch myself out of that one though i like it yo This guy is good. That damn Salgado.
Come on, man.
It's true, though.
Just a phase.
So what does that mean?
Just tell me what that means real quick before I let you go.
At what point is a lifetime not a phase?
Yo.
And me.
Respectfully, I'm not even going to answer this and dignify it with any type of real answer.
Anyone who knows me knows that I
am not of that.
That's true.
Me and Ball know you.
Yeah, that's real.
Me and Ball know you.
That's real.
Listen,
I've 100% have to you over the E for years. Listen, I've 100% changed.
I have put myself into a very bad space at some point in time by making some bad decisions.
But you learned.
But I've learned.
I've learned and grown from that.
Most importantly.
And you're a new man, right?
And that's what I will continue to do.
I hate love calling, but I'm just too far away.
Why didn't you get closer?
That shit dumb far.
Hey, he heard it.
Oh shit, that's long.
I ain't even peeing.
I'm not fucking with y'all.
All right, all right.
So let me get it off you for a minute.
I'll ask you this.
Did you think that I was going to get married
either of the times I was engaged?
No.
No. No.
I heard love calling.
It was just Mona.
It was close. It was just Mona.
Love was calling close to me.
I was still cheating. You were loving hip-hop calling.
I thought you would get married.
Before me, at least. Johnny's
engaged and he's actually getting married. He got a discount
on the wedding for the pandemic
we also haven't seen or heard from him
in four years
that's why
it's still very possible
and let me say this
wait possible to what
let me say this
it's still very possible for me
because on your podcast
which is heard by millions
I want to say
I'm going to work on fixing my past relationship.
This was like when they used to call into the radio station
and get their girl back.
Yeah, listen, listen.
When you're trying to fix shit, you got to do what you got to do.
But if it don't work, then I'm cool.
But either way, I'm going to put the work in to fix my shit.
That's a part of my job.
I like that. I like that a lot.
Hey, E, when more get married? Never i ain't gonna lie we've always made that joke but it'd be very funny
that he ends up married before any of us he hears a love calling and i don't have any more minutes
on my phone hey look at more calling boys back. Look at you lying in your arms.
Yo, just a phase.
Imani out now.
Imani working to revive some things.
All of us are after Valentine's Day.
And that's it.
That's all I wanted, man.
That's all I wanted.
Hey, man, you guys have a great podcast.
Great to hear from y'all.
Yo, but let me tell you before I let you go.
Just a phase, though.
Creeped up in my little
late night playlist.
I thought you was on some bullshit.
I thought you was dropping whack shit.
I let that shit ride when I had
a little y'all made through.
She tried to Shazam it.
Wait, wait, wait.
She tried to Shazam it.
I was like, that's Amani right there. I'll send it to you.
I'll call him right now.
I know him.
Well, no, Johnny.
I do mean green now.
Well, for anyone who cares to know, it's out.
And please go stream and purchase and do all that other cool shit.
Yes, sir.
When does Don't Work come out?
Oh, I don't know.
That's that shit.
Long story about that.
But that might be soon.
Imani got joints that he won't put out.
No, he's sitting on some joints.
Yeah, I don't get it.
I do not get it.
Shout out to Karan on the production, too.
Of course.
Yes, shout out to Karan.
I'm just trying to do this business shit the right way.
I've done a lot of bad business in the past, so I'm trying to do the business the right way now.
That's all.
Yes, yes, sir.
Hey, who you think can make a better video out of just the phase, you or me?
Because I'm going to go crazy. I'm going to You or me? Because I'm going to go crazy.
I'm going to keep it a buck.
I'm going to keep it a buck.
I'm going to keep it a buck.
You might be able to body it.
You might be able to body it.
I'm going to go crazy.
Mo, I'm going to go crazy to this record.
He told me that.
Yeah, you know.
You know.
Chill.
Let me chill.
Chill, Joe.
All right, that's it.
Just a Phase.
That's it.
Yeah, let me go back.
I'm recording. Let me go back and record
love you guys love you too man have a blast peace
now i'm on a call with this he did
pisses me off when like really talented artists catch one creatively in the studio it should be
a bop and now you need all the other tools to let people know that you caught one like i feel like
imani's going through that too much for me to not call him for me to not play this like he's had too
many songs in the last decade that i've loved not because i work with him and know him hold up
you have to stop
cheating to love her
proper
you're not afraid
it's not
it's not fear
alright just
I don't know
they all
cheating niggas
be going
they all know
I don't know
what it could be
what caused this agony I let you know what it could be.
What caused this agony? I'll let you know how to start, sir.
Ain't enough to make me change my ways.
I don't want to play those games.
He don't want to play them games.
She niggas always like, I'm done playing these games.
I know.
I can't believe I was on that.
Yeah, I know.
Yeah, I know.
I hear you.
Shout out to Imani.
Great record. Just a phase. Out right was on that. Yeah, I know. I know. Yeah, I know. I hear you. Shout out to Imani. Great record.
Just a phase.
Out right now on your phone.
Check it out.
Where was we at, man?
Where was we at?
Real quick story about Valentine's Day, because we was talking to E about Valentine's Day.
You didn't do enough?
Oh, no.
I killed.
I killed.
I went crazy.
I thought maybe you gave her the deluxe.
The deluxe what?
Valentine's Day. Both of those. Yeah. maybe you gave her the deluxe. The deluxe what? Valentine's Day. Both of those.
Yeah. Monday you gave her.
I know I killed it because she started
touching me like she used to when she liked me.
Started laughing at
the jokes like she liked you.
You know when the touch get different.
Started rubbing you a little bit more. It was different.
It was like back in the day.
I ain't say nothing either. I just let it rock.
You just trembled?
But It was like back in the day. I ain't say nothing either. I just let it rock. You just trembled? But my heart started beating fast.
No, what I'm saying, so real quick story.
She got me this Louis Vuitton card holder.
I don't carry cash, so a card holder makes sense.
I get that.
But here's the gag.
I love my wallet.
The one that you have already.
This is my favorite wallet
I've ever had
in my whole life.
She was like,
yo, I got you this
because your wallet is trash.
Your shit look like
the QVC shit.
She just was going,
that little button you press
when we
about to buy something with your car do like that she hates that shit is ass nigga you like a broke
bum so here's some cool louis shit that like i'm not drawing this away i'll be keeping this yeah
sorry i didn't tell her that yeah yeah but qvc is not a diss to me like qvc has some shit i think
the q stands for quality i start telling her like shit. I think the Q stands for quality. I start telling her like-
I think that's what it stands for.
Quality control, quality.
Yo, you ain't like the new tech on this?
Like the cards flip, look.
Are you going to be a tucky bag?
She wasn't feeling that.
Look, boo, boo, boo, boo.
The scam is about to get you.
You better tuck in.
Boo, boo, boo.
She wasn't feeling that.
Oh, yeah.
Blur.
Boo, boo, boo, boo.
Yeah, she wasn't feeling that.
Yeah, get the fuck out of here.
But anyway.
All right, what else we got to talk about?
Let's see, let's see, let's see.
There were some other things.
Let's see, let's see.
You got something?
The Rock is running for president.
I'm sorry?
I don't know.
Didn't you guys say that off mic?
I was saying that if Dwayne Johnson decides to run for presidency, he will win.
Oh, okay.
I want to apologize to Rory.
About what?
When has that ever happened?
Go ahead. I want to apologize to Rory. When has that ever happened? Hmm?
Go ahead.
Maybe music can take Tyrese.
Maybe.
Maybe?
Maybe.
Maybe.
Once we start getting around 17, 16,
music has been doing this for a long time.
Yeah.
And I think I maybe took some of that for granted. Tyrese has been doing this for a long time yeah Tyrese has been doing this for a long time in
iconic spots
like music has been
an active artist early
consistently for a while
Tyrese dropped once
then he dropped again
four years later
he did that kind of thing, you know what I mean?
so music might be able to edge
some of these people out in the later rounds
we didn't even mention Genuine's name
I don't know how I feel about it
I do, I'm not putting
music and Brian McKnight in the same sentence
that I'm not doing, but Tyrese
and who else did I say?
Joe maybe, I don't think so.
I still think music is beating Joe.
Music is tougher than I gave, than I sounded on the last spot.
So I want to apologize to Rory for that.
Apologize to music, not to me.
No, I'm going to see you more than I see him.
I'm going to apologize to you.
And music, because I fuck with music.
Shout out to Philadelphia.
And fucking just the front is a point, no matter when it comes on.
No, he has amazing records.
He has crazy B-side records.
We should do a Music vs. Joe.
I still don't know if Music beats Joe.
Let's do it tonight.
I'm not doing it tonight.
I don't have anywhere to go or any place.
Why don't you have things to do at night time when you go home?
I'm not
looking at you, Joe. Stop
looking at me.
221.
We got to edit that?
Oh, shots.
Oh, we're
misrepresenting him.
Not me. People
that I care about that have had enough of you guys and this podcast. I had enough of the people that had enough Not me. People that I care about that have had enough
of you guys
and this podcast.
I had enough of the people
that had enough of me.
How about that?
Yeah, me too, Joe.
What the hell?
The fuck out of here?
Had enough of me.
Yo, what's up?
We're just editing
this entire section.
This thing is crazy.
Yo, where's the...
We don't got none of that
no more down here?
Hey, Rim, throw the air freshener down here. Fuck you, D. Yo, where's the... We don't got none of that no more down here? Hey, Rem,
throw the air freshener
down here.
Fuck you, Dyslow.
My fo-fo makes your
all your kids don't grow.
Look what he's
stung on.
He's got a wild out.
What else is important?
All-Star Day.
Not All-Star Weekend.
All-Star Day.
Yes.
Meaning that the
Skills Challenge will be played prior to the All-Star Game.
And the dunk contest and three-point competition will air at halftime.
Right.
Of the All-Star Game.
React.
It's stupid.
And it should not be happening happening And this is just a force
They're forcing this
To happen
A lot of the
Superstars in the league
Don't want to

I'm stealing that one
I'll bring you a different flavor next week
That's a good one
I have 50 of them in my house
I'll bring you a good one
I don't have that smell
Yeah this is just a force This is a force They're forcing it a good one. I have 50 of them in my house. I'll bring you a good one. I don't have that smell.
This is just a force.
This is a force. They're forcing it.
That smells good.
You don't.
That's why it was sprayed.
That is a good one though.
Of course it's a force.
But NBA is a business.
They want to make money. And I'm not mad at them trying to do it all in one day.
I am.
This is not what
All-Star Weekend is.
This is...
But it's not All-Star Weekend.
Exactly.
And this is not what
life has been.
You got to adapt.
If we can do it in one day
and it's good.
If it's bad
then I take back
everything I said.
Listen, Atlanta has never
hasn't closed down
during the entire...
No, it's going to be a weekend.
I've seen 25 flyers.
Yeah, so I mean,
it's, you know,
and it's a reason that
the NBA is doing it there.
Like, you know,
it's, come on.
It's funny that the NBA
has to be more
publicly responsible
than the city of Atlanta.
And the NBA is not even,
they're not even being
publicly responsible.
Like, I've seen so many flyers
of every rapper
you could think of
for that whole weekend.
But the NBA has to give off the perception that they care.
Let's just do this real quick.
They're not doing it.
They're not being publicly responsible.
It's a reason it's in Atlanta.
It's a reason the NBA is doing this in Atlanta.
Who's in the dunk contest?
Atlanta's open.
I don't particularly care about the skills challenge.
I never did.
So why isn't the rest of the country open?
I like the skills challenge.
You like to see people dribble?
Oh, my God. He passed it through the thing. I'm with you. I never did. So why isn't the rest of the country open? I like the skills challenge. You like to see people dribble? Oh my God, he passed it through the thing.
I'm with you, I never had it.
Yes, so yeah.
I like the skills challenge.
Atlanta's open.
That's a three point in the dunkest.
Yeah, that's where I, but the rest of the country isn't.
Dane Lillard, first guy to say he wants to do a three point contest.
First contestant announced.
I like it.
Now they scared.
Now the rest of them scared.
Will you ask Steve Novak?
Huh?
Come through.
Dane was the first one to say he wants to do the three-point contest.
What?
He's doing it.
He's in it.
He's the first contestant announced.
Now the rest of them shook.
Scared to speak, so they speak because they scared.
I don't think niggas want to do this shit.
At halftime?
Yeah, say something.
Come on, fam.
That shit is stupid. That shit is stupid.
That shit is stupid.
Okay.
It's stupid.
Okay.
I mean, they didn't ask me
to do the three-point contest,
but I'm a little nervous
now that Dame is doing it.
I probably wouldn't go
against him in a three.
And Dame is another one
that deserves MVP recognition,
for sure.
He's not even starting, right?
No.
But who is he going to start over?
Fair.
Luka or Steph?
No.
Play Smallball.
LeBron.
Come on, he's not starting.
LeBron.
He'll beat it, though.
Nikolai Volkov.
That's what I said.
Play Smallball.
Get him out of here.
You never like Jokic.
Why you don't like Jokic?
I don't dislike him. He been getting busy. He said he was soft. I never liked Jokic. Why you don't like Jokic? I don't dislike him.
He been getting busy this year.
He said he was soft.
I still think he's soft.
How, Joe?
That don't even make sense.
Because Kevin Garnett will punch him in his face and he won't do nothing.
That's why.
Kevin Garnett won't punch him in his face.
Yes, he would.
No, he wouldn't.
Yes, he would.
No, he wouldn't.
And Nikolai Bogdanovich.
Who has Kevin Garnett ever punched in the face?
Well, you don't know.
I don't know.
I probably punched somebody in his face.
Adam Saylor.
Adam Saylor. Yeah, let's move on. Let's just keep in his face. Adam Sandler. Adam Sandler.
Yeah, let's move on.
Let's just keep going, y'all.
That was really funny.
That was hilarious, actually.
I hate Adam Sandler.
Why was The Weeknd in that movie?
Why does The Weeknd have a Super Bowl ring?
Yo, that take they killed you for,
I'm going to stand with you, man.
That movie is trash.
What movie?
Blazing Saddles.
What was it called?
The Game Smith or some shit.
Uncut Gems.
That movie was not good.
It was the most unrealistic shit
in the world.
It just wasn't good.
I spent my whole life
trying to get this rock.
You just hold it down
for a weekend though.
It's cool.
It just wasn't good.
The whole premise was bad.
It was an entertaining movie, but the basic premise of the movie was bad.
I felt him when he was in me packing in front of One Oak and Shorty went in with the weekend.
He was like, no, maybe she'll come out.
Nah, she's not coming out, bro.
I'm trying to take my engagement ring somewhere, the one that I still have, so that the diamond can be made into a cool something for me.
But I don't trust bringing that diamond anywhere
and getting it back.
I got you.
Because how would I know?
Roy will do it.
No, I got you.
You got to just see,
why don't you just see what...
But how would I know?
I can promise you...
See what they'll give you for it.
I don't want no money from it.
No, but I'm just saying that
if you take the diamond you say listen how much appraise it how much is this worth how much you
willing to give me because right now gold i think gold is more now diamonds might you know the
market changes in that but just see what they're willing to give you and then you can see what you
can get for it so take a loss on maybe 30 40 grand take the money you know you're not gonna lose 30
40 grand yes you know that's the problem. You're not going to lose 30, 40 grand. Yes, you are.
That's the problem with getting an engagement ring and not being engaged.
Like you pick the diamond.
I pick the diamond.
So to bring it back, he could take it, but he has to wait for somebody else that's going to pick that exact diamond.
Gotcha.
Yeah, I understand that.
So.
I don't think you lose 30 grand. That's why the first, I didn't pay that much for the first one
because that was just some TV shit.
I wouldn't got some,
I wouldn't got my watch.
But this one's a little different.
What do you want to do with it?
I've,
my family is married into some high profile Jewish people
that are in the diamond district in the city.
That's how I got the Nami discount on mine.
My shit was worth 20 grand and I didn't pay that. You think I look good non-mean discount on mine. My shit was worth
20 grand.
I didn't pay that.
You think I look good
with a stud right here?
No.
Never mind.
I take back
any connection I have.
Now get two.
Get two.
Get a little Alex
stud.
Right, Alex?
You got stud?
Let me see your shoes.
Right, Alex.
You got stud.
Let me see.
You're going to get a stud.
Goddamn.
I'm surprised Bugs Bunny
don't attack you
with those carrots.
How much time left?
We about done.
Can we edit that line?
We're about done.
Edit the whole part?
I think we should
highlight it.
We should move
back to the beginning.
Edit all this shit
out of here.
All right.
What else do we have
to talk about?
I don't think I have
anything I need to talk about. All right, Jazz. It's have to talk about? I don't think I have anything I need to.
All right, Jazz.
It's always a Jazz, isn't it?
It's a mad Jazz.
I was supposed to fucking didn't.
Shout out to the Jazzes.
Let's see.
Let's see.
Ross Tiny Desk.
Male group DMs.
Excuse me?
I keep getting them.
From who?
Males.
Male friend groups.
Males that you know?
No, I don't know these dudes.
They just keep putting me in their group chat DMs.
In the request?
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
No, that happens.
Why?
I'm not in their friend group, nor do I want to read anything that men are saying.
That happens actually a lot with our podcast. I just want to talk to you.
I don't want to speak to men about...
You don't want to talk to the people?
No.
That's why it's in my quest.
I never, ever wanted to talk to the people.
That was all a facade, Mo.
I hate creators.
Oh, my God.
They're the worst.
Rob every one of them.
All right, so that's it, then. I don't have nothing
y'all don't have nothing
it's fine
we can go
let me see
let me just make sure
a new currency
oh Naomi defeats Serena
we didn't talk about that
that was a big deal
yeah
I think it's
the passing of the torch
yeah
honestly
I think that's what it is
that match was run
late at night
3am I'm sure
yeah
was the first one
yeah
what Cordae Cruz watching this oh you know you know Cordam I'm sure Yeah Was the first one Yeah Cordae Crew was watching this

You know Cordae was there
I said Cordae Crew
Was watching this one
Oh I don't
That I don't know
Come on HBC more
I don't know
I don't know if his crew
Was watching it
But yeah Serena's
Arguably the greatest
Athlete of all time
I just think that
Father time
Catches everybody Eventually Sure And I think that father time it catches everybody eventually sure and i think
that's where it's at but you know i i like i like the fact that if serena is going to lose she's
going to lose to the next great one i respect that in sports that's kind of the thing is how
it should go yeah that's how it should go oh sorry what's up with you go that's the next that's the next good
thing in sports and some ass shake look I'm sure another jazz let you look at
this let you look at some of that Give him some music. Hey. Huh? Ram.
Ram.
Ram Parks is looking at ass on my phone.
He's looking at ass.
I'm showing Parks some ass on my phone.
And he's looking.
Whoa, Parks.
Whoa.
Give me my phone back.
So annoying.
Hey. You okay? so annoying you okay you got sleepers or something
I'm great
why don't
when I'm
looking at my phone
like y'all do every pod
for the last seven years
why don't y'all discuss something
cause you're ad-libbing
maybe I wanna look at my phone
to find something to discuss
too like you guys do
for seven years
you looking at us
you can talk
like when I'm looking at this
Rory don't have to look do like this you looking at us. You can talk like what I'm looking at this.
Rory don't have to do like this.
You looking at us.
Rory don't have to play with his beard,
staring at Joe.
You looking at us.
You niggas conduct a pod and I'm looking at ass.
More false narratives.
The fuck?
Edit out.
I don't.
Too far getting in trouble with my bitch, nigga.
I hate you, nigga.
I hate you.
Don't spin the seat around.
I wait for mine to say something and challenge her with resistance

You got another take
You got another cultural critique
What's up
Shout out to Serena
Shout out to Serena
Shout out to Osaka

Whatever I said about
Yes
Shout out to Osaka
Shout out to Serena
Hey Cordae man
What a lick
What's up
No God look
Yo why men don't Aren't allowed the space to say men shit no more?
Wait, who?
I don't know.
That's a lick.
Who's Cordae dating?
In 98, when I met a girl with a car in her own crib.
That's a lick.
My niggas high-fived me.
I didn't know that they were dating.
What a lick.
This is a lick.
You know, it's not.
That's a lick.
I didn't know that.
I wouldn't want to talk to J.O. I'm not mad at that. You know what lick. You know, it's not. It's a lick. I didn't know that. I wouldn't want to talk to Jay on my day anymore either.
I'm not mad at that.
You know what I mean?
If that's how you feel about it.
Yeah.
That's my mans and all, but chill.
You know what I mean, Jay?
I see you on Clubhouse and all that.
I mean, I'll be at the Australian Open.
Are you still on Clubhouse?
It's just a little weird for me.
I'm at the US Open. Did you see me? It's just a little weird for me. I'm at the US Open.
Did you see me?
It's just a little weird.
You at Channel 7, right?
It's just a vest.
Don't you have to wear white or something there?
Don't you have to wear a polo?
I fuck with J.O. Matty a lot, too.
So I'm just joking.
I'm just joking.
He's another real cool nigga, but he ain't here to look like this.
It's just a little weird, man, because they kind of look alike.
Subjective.
They look alike a little bit. Did he have a look? I don't know. I don't know. Subjective. Yeah, they look like they. It's just a little weird, man, because they kind of look alike. Subjective. They look alike a little bit.
Did he have to look?
I don't know.
I don't know.
Subjective.
Yeah,
they look like
they could be related.
She just made $40 million.
Subjective.
Not subjective.
How you define
head to leg?
She made $40 million.
That's great.
In a night.
That's great.
Look at him.
He looks pretty happy.
When a rapper smiles
without his lips showing
he's excited no i'm not saying what you're saying
they just look like they could be related though that's the only just like
it looked like they up and it's stuck
they look like it's up and it looks like he could be his little sister i know i know i know
i feel like that might be my little sister that I know. I know. I feel like that happens.
That might be my little sister.
That's his wiz.
Oh, for sure.
That's his queen.
He's there.
For sure.
Absolutely.
Congratulations.
I'm real happy for them.
I'm happy for her.
I am.
That's great.
She's the next great one.
And shout out to Serena.
Oh, yeah.
And Cornell.
Serena.
Yeah, somehow it feels like this is just how Serena should go out.
Losing
Losing to the phenom
That you were
I think she knows
That's why she was emotional
Like this frustration
That Serena has to have
For the young lady
That continues to beat her
That's what people
Had to deal with
When Serena was there
Right
Absolutely
So it makes sense to me
No that's
That's why I said
You know she was emotional
For a reason
She understands what this is
And um
You know She knows her body But that's kind I said, you know, she was emotional for a reason. She understands what this is. And, you know, she knows her body.
It's crazy to beat your idol like that.
That's how it goes.
That's got to be kind of nuts.
We're both competitive.
It's my time.
I'm your idol.
The highest title.
Numero uno.
Can you finish it?
Don't debate me ever again.
Don't debate me.
I don't want to hear your mouth anymore.
Can anybody finish it?
I'm not a Puerto Rican, but I kick it so that you know.
Where I'm from.
Shut up.
Where I'm from, nigga.
That was disrespectful.
You know what I mean?
I was a single, nigga.
Shut up.
No, no, no.
He go to the house.
You go to the house.
He go to the house.
He should.
He a rapper.
Yeah, I know.
Well, I bought the album.
Okay.
Well, I know it.
My older brother had the album.
Let me not do that. I'm lying right now but boy what album i thought shout out to special ed shout out to
special i'm the magnificent with the sensation come on man man if i didn't have some r&b shit
to play i play special as a sleeper maybe next time today's friday it don't even feel like a
friday it don't no i actually i didn't know it might have been a tuesday no dead ass when i
walked in i was like oh that's a friday pop yeah I thought it might have been a Tuesday. Me too. When I walked in, I was like, oh, wait, it's a Friday pop.
Yeah, I would have been a lot sillier if I had remembered that.
Listen.
I'm in here trying to give them the news.
Yeah, Ted Cruz went away.
I'm trying to drop Wednesday gems on them.
Houston had some power outage, man.
Everyone's trying to get drunk.
If you would have just went to college, you would have understood what a Friday night was like.
Yo, we ain't even touched this.
Oh, man, think about that.
Yo, how we ain't even touched when the college dropout is getting a divorce?
Come on, Roar.
Full circle.
People that went to college can get divorced?
Absolutely not.
That's crazy.
I don't even like that they're trying to market to the divorce crowd.
What do you know?
I hate when they do that.
Not getting the gospel version
of Back to Life anymore.
Damn.
We saw this coming.
All I kept seeing
was gospel versions
of Bell Biv DeVoe records.
Yeah, but we saw this.
That's what he's doing.
It was kind of hard, though.
When they were arguing in the car.
That devil's poison.
That's hard, though.
Poison.
That devil's poison.
Hey, that devil's.
No, no.
Never trust a pitchfork and a smile.
That devil's poison.
Hey, poison. You are stupid. never trust a pitchfork and a smile that devil's poison hey poison
yo you are stupid
he said that
they actually did that
yeah
I don't know
they should've
that's what's hard
you know that devil's poison
anyway
we're not hearing
no renditions anymore
is what I'm saying
yeah it's quiet for that
and I feel for Kanye
I'm not even gonna make
a bunch of jokes
because divorce is tough
divorce is tough and Iorce is tough.
And I do believe that they were really, really, really in love.
Also, a divorce at this magnitude with this much business involved,
it is big business, has to be stressful for both parties.
A lot of kids.
Kids involved.
Especially when you've been separated for a little while now.
This is a lot going on.
I want to pray for them both and hope that they're both well.
And Ye has seemed to be going through some mental health issues for some time.
I don't think the divorce is going to help that very much.
So, yeah.
I know I say prayers for everyone involved as a joke.
Usually, I'm dead ass here.
Divorce is not.
That's not cool.
I never think you'd be joking when you say that.
It's a very difficult.
Sometimes I do,
but I'll be serious.
Sort of like he jokes with the edit button.
Yeah.
But also,
for the other way to look at it,
as Louis CK says,
don't ever,
you know,
sigh when someone gets divorced.
No good marriage has ever gotten divorced.
Like you should be happy.
Be happy for me mm-hmm yeah
another way to look at it I don't know their point of view but just give it another scrap
all them songs you made before the divorce happened every last one of them what's the
breakup album so yeah yeah yeah now I need 808s and heartbreak. I need the 909. I need something. Part two, yeah. Yeah, you get the 909.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I need to hear it.
I need to hear it.
This one hurts.
This one hurt.
I cried over bitches far less.
Far less than Ken.
With four kids and an empire.
Yeah, word.
Oh, man. Yeah, prayers to both
of them, man. You're not, for real. That's all
I got here. I don't have a take. I don't have anything
funny. Just prayers to them both.
I don't think there's anything else
that I need to touch. Pause.
All-Star Day,

We might need to save that.
Because I can't lie.
I can't tell a lie.
I feel the way. About what?

It was Lord Fitts' birthday yesterday
So I'm gonna play Brainstorm. Four verses, spontaneous combustion Trust me, no rapper can dust me Bounced upon the scene with a theme World life, fuck up fantasy now
Cause I differ from a dream Wisdom lies deep in my molecules
You assumed I fell victim to hip-hop blues Yo, we all busting on tour often
Rockin' spots all the California coast Ranging on back to Boston
Enforcin' my theory, leavin' rappers teary-eyed
Fried moments you came and thought they had stride
You accustomed to cussin' and bluffin', fussin' for nothin'
Half of y'all crumbs are just soft like muffins I bake
Masterpieces, sharper theses
Y'all candy-coated motherfuckers stink like pieces
Needless to say, are these runners shoes yours?
You retreated when I gave out head for wars
My microphone set is immensely brick wall
Silent in and out you slept so now snore Who got my back you ask Lord and Blast Master
Unorthodox combinations from the masters Mics are minutes when it's finished
You get our understanding of what we bring and no gimmicks
We need to brainstorm to make something kinda lyrical
A strange form, something kinda lyrical A strange form, but something kinda lyrical
Blowing up spots from state to state
Finesse is coming in town
My decision is precision
I'm ill in ways you can't vision
I got niggas worshiping law, finesse like religion
You can't fuck around, you're kidding
You don't want no collision
You better fly south like a pigeon
Good riddance, I flip flows you can't imagine
I break down your Flintstones style into fragments So pay attention to the man rapping
Don't think that it can't, I'm living proof, it can happen
I reign supreme logical, verbally I drop it in ways that you never dreamed possible
So lyrically, I personally figure that my Harvard style is too deep for you nursery niggas
When I clutch the mic,
I'm coming rough and right. I build more than them workers on construction sites. I'm skilled
at it. I'm ill-matic. So yes, answers your question, if you ask me, do I still have it?
I'm the realest, the illest, coming out the woodworks like them homos in the village.
But seriously, I got the remedy if I was at the bottom of the toilet. You niggas still
couldn't shit on me originally
It's the same vet, I'm on that get rich list
But they didn't call my name yet
I make it special like a prom night
I blow on mics while other brothers are old news
Like what the Cronkite is critical
You got these Xerox individuals, but we're life
It ain't nothing like the original, I wreck kids
That's my theory and perspective when it comes to hip-hop
I'm on the case like detectives
You better step to the next man cuz the greatest soccer player couldn't kick it like finesse can
And Karis was on there as well. And then Karis one comes in.
Comes in wild.
Happy Blades, Laura Finesse.
Thank you for all you've brought to the game.
Got some cool news about old school hip hop.
Oh, yeah?
Something you could share or not?
Nah.
But something really cool is coming from somebody that we love from that era.
Oh, yeah?
Yeah
I'm excited to hear about it
Whenever it does happen
You definitely will be
Yeah
Welcome
Welcome back
Yeah
Yeah just keep it going
Double cup Joe.
Two chains who?
Play a record.
Have you looked into your indigestion?
Nah.
It really is probably just like lemonade My hope, my hope to leave you alone. I want to give you the world.
It really is probably just like lemonade or something that you drink all the time.
Either way, you should check it out.
Yeah, I'm going to go to the doctor either way this time.
Yeah, got to do a little checkup every now and then.
Yeah, I was a little paranoid to go to the doctor last year with the fucking world ending.
Listen, outside of the cord cutting shit, I got a whole holistic doctor now doing my diet doing all that shit still never sent a cord cutter's number oh you know what
let me put y'all on email right now yeah that'd be nice every time people are dming me about
oh no my dms and mentions every fucking day is about it and let me tell y'all now uh for the
people because we didn't really get into that segment for everyone dealing with anxiety depression uh breakups just bad shit in your
life constipation uh cord cutting doesn't have anything to do with that you can't get a cord cut
and your anxiety will leave or your depression will leave or what you're going through will leave
it's a much deeper thing and it's a journey you have to do on your own. I can't give you the cord, lady.
It just don't work that way.
Repeat the last part.
If you're going through something specifically that you feel is really bringing you down,
cutting the cords is not going to end that.
You're not going to wake up and feel differently.
It's a thing we all do subconsciously. You chords with other people people create chords with you it's not directly
affecting your depression or your anxiety it affects your energy that you deal with every day
which again could eventually get there but that's not that's not going to be a cure for i encourage
people to do it but i think because we didn't get into that segment people took that as i'm cutting cords for major things in my life and it'll do that way and this is also
something you have to kind of go on your own to eventually get to the person that will be right
for you i can't give you the cord lady and she'll be right for you it's a journey that takes some time to get to. Okay. So, yeah, I can't just pass that off the way.
It's a circle thing.
Okay.
Within our circle, I can do that because it's an energy thing.
Okay.
I can't give it to a stranger and it'll work.
She'll have no idea what to do with you.
Interesting.
So, yeah.
Also get that checked out from a real doctor.
Yeah, I want to thank Rory for that, man.
Nah, deadass.
For real.
FR on that one.
As I'm putting you on email with her.
Here comes the bullshit.
He's loaded it up.
You will not get me to clown cord cutting twice.
No.
Email me, please.
They bullied you?
And that's that, man.
We out of here, man.
Real good pod.
Let me cock this Imani back right quick.
Hold on.
You.
I didn't mean Imani's cock.
It sounded that way.
I hear love calling, but I'm just too far away.

You're an idiot.

Absolutely. Have to.
He's 25-26. The Knicks will Knick. The Knicks will Knick him now, right? Absolutely. Have to. He's 25, 26.
The Knicks will Nick.
The Knicks will Nick, so we don't know.

Please remember, life is a series of moments.
And moments pass. So let's make this one last
As if it's all we have
I'm already singing the chorus to it
I'm afraid of loving you
And girl I don't know just how to deal with that
Cause love ain't enough to make me change my ways
I've been cheating all week
Now I'm feeling so weak
I've been cheating all week

And now I'm weak
Yo, do remember
If I'm in love with you or it's just a phase
The stagnant women wanna travel
The closed minded women
Want you to teach them things
There's one more I forgot
I don't remember
And that

Edit that

I know that that's going to get me in trouble to say that.
No, certain shit you can't watch with a girl.
A girl is not about to be into Mr. Robot
the way that I'm about to be into it.
So that's all.
And I am going to watch.
You're on it?
I'm done, I'm done.
You're finished?
Yeah.
Wow, that was fast.
It's only four seasons.
How many episodes a season?
